Kroger Gobbles Up Giant Eagle
In a massive shakeup for the grocery industry, Kroger has officially announced a $1.65 billion deal to acquire regional supermarket giant Giant Eagle. This marks Kroger’s first massive play since its Albertsons merger fell apart last year. The deal will expand Kroger's footprint significantly into Pennsylvania and mid-Atlantic markets.
