- 0:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I need to tell you two things.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Connie and Christine's.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Two pretty cool things.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I find it extremely cool that for the first time
- 0:10Speaker 1: in its history, Japan has more than 100,000 people.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Over the age of 100.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Wow.
- 0:16Speaker 1: And nearly 90% of them are women. It's something about
- 0:22Speaker 1: the water there.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 0:24Speaker 2: And the diet.
- 0:24Speaker 3: And the diet. They're eating good over there.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yeah. All right.
- 0:27Speaker 3: So way to go, all our Japanese friends. My wife
- 0:29Speaker 3: is Japanese. So if this holds true, she'll be hanging
- 0:33Speaker 3: around for a while.
- 0:34Speaker 2: That's great. We like Coco.
- 0:35Speaker 3: We do. Don't leave me, Coco. All right. What is
- 0:39Speaker 3: your cool thing, Christine?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Well, Merriam-Webster Dictionary every year comes out with their list
- 0:44Speaker 2: of new words. We have the new words. We can
- 0:46Speaker 2: talk about that in a bit. But they've got this
- 0:49Speaker 2: really cool feature on their website called Time Travel. And
- 0:52Speaker 2: what you can do is look up the year you
- 0:54Speaker 2: were born and see all the words that were added
- 0:57Speaker 2: to the dictionary that year. All the words that were
- 1:00Speaker 2: new in that year. It's really, really fun from pop
- 1:04Speaker 2: culture terms to technology buzzwords. Like I'm going all the
- 1:07Speaker 2: way back to 1942 right now and they just came
- 1:11Speaker 2: up with the word carb. which haunts me to this day.
- 1:14Speaker 3: That was a brand new word in 42.
- 1:15Speaker 2: They were like carbs.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And carpool. It's just bebop. I told you, I think
- 1:22Speaker 2: it was 1957 or something. One hit wonder. Like it, it's,
- 1:26Speaker 2: it's a lot of fun. Just.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Producer Kristen was born in 87. Is it easy for
- 1:31Speaker 1: you to toggle.
- 1:31Speaker 3: To 87 or is it too hard right now?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Let me see how fast.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I'm in the 40s. Okay. If you can't do it,
- 1:35Speaker 3: that's okay. So it's on Merriam-Webster's website, right? Yes.
- 1:40Speaker 2: And the tool is called Time Travel.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Time Travel.
- 1:42Speaker 2: And wait, we have Kristen, what year did you say?
- 1:45Speaker 3: 87. 1987.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Please stand by.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Text us your birth year right now.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Have any little music? Kristen gets Blank Check Company. Blank check, baby,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and I'll write your name.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:59Speaker 2: You get the word. Oh, Generation X. Hello.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Started in 87? Okay.
- 2:04Speaker 2: That's when we put the word into the dictionary. Let's see.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Kristen gets lipo. That's up there with my card.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I heard Kristen gets lipo. All right, this is cool.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Off-label, potty-mouthed, snark.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Snark.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Techno, wake and bake, whack-a-mole, single prayer, bomb cyclone. You've
- 2:26Speaker 2: got some fun stuff.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I love that.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Acid washed. Oh, that's okay. You don't need to know
- 2:31Speaker 2: about that.
- 2:31Speaker 3: That was the time.
- 2:34Speaker 2: You can skip those.
- 2:34Speaker 3: All right. This has been two pretty cool things. The
- 2:37Speaker 3: more you know, the further you go.
