- 0:19Speaker 2: You know what time it is.
- 0:20Speaker 2: It's time for big time now on the North Florida Sports Network Get up, fsu is 4-0 for the big win.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I mean I know you know how big of a win it was.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Big time now.
- 0:37Speaker 2: And I see some people with hating on it saying, oh, it was an unranked opponent.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I mean they just had.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I just talked about it.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I didn't hear anybody say that you know like Miami fans, yeah, right Right.
- 0:53Speaker 1: No real analysts said that at all.
- 0:55Speaker 1: In fact, they said the opposite.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Right, exactly Because Clemson looked, and that's what I would say.
- 1:01Speaker 1: They've been the king of the ACC for the last 30 years.
- 1:05Speaker 2: And they lost the opener.
- 1:06Speaker 2: So you were getting, you were getting everything, like they didn't have it was a must win for them, right.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Right and they played like it.
- 1:14Speaker 1: They did.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Let me add, a little help from the zebras.
- 1:17Speaker 1: But yeah, that's true.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Let me throw this out there, but we knew that was coming.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I mean cooking, we're used to that.
- 1:22Speaker 1: We used to that.
- 1:24Speaker 3: We were spending their entire preseason with the majority of prep for FSU Mm.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Looking right past.
- 1:33Speaker 1: That's why they got smoked by you, yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Well yeah, their offense just wasn't clicking.
- 1:38Speaker 2: You turn the ball over inside the 10 three straight times, get no points.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But anyway, fsu, I mean what stood out for you in this game most of all?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Big tunnel.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Between both teams or just overall.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Just for the Knowles, like what's one thing when you look back on this game, when you remember this game in particular, what's going to stand out?
- 2:01Speaker 2: You from an FSU perspective?
- 2:03Speaker 1: I mean, it's the miss field goal by them.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Okay, yeah.
- 2:09Speaker 2: It really is, because, like especially the way it was.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It really was.
- 2:12Speaker 2: It was set up to.
- 2:13Speaker 2: She's a grad student.
- 2:15Speaker 1: It was a chip shot.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 2:17Speaker 1: They did the story on the cap showing his parents Yep.
- 2:21Speaker 2: He would have been there regardless, yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 3: And he would have been up there with him, but still, yeah that was tough.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah, if he wasn't out there, he should have taken that job in New York yeah.
- 2:31Speaker 2: He was our.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah, unfortunately, that's what it is, but I'm going to try to hunt him for the rest of his life.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It really will.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Oh, dan Mallory, over here.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yep, fsu fans know all about that.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Oh, we sure do, but that it did have a similar feel Um watching the game.
- 2:49Speaker 2: It seemed like it seemed like one of those FSU Miami games you know about 20 years ago.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it really did.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Even even the uh, the Clemson FSU games from from the late 2000s, early 2010s just the back and forth?
- 3:08Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 3:10Speaker 3: I uh man yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 1: You know, I mean for a few years.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I think it's robbery in the country.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, yeah, man it he, he missed it wide left and then FSU went down.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And that's when you know another call was missed too, and they threw it on one side and I know that's what you're alluding to, as far as the flags, especially at the most crucial time in the game, Throw it down one side to give their kicker a chance to make a field goal.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And they got down there a little further on the next play.
- 3:43Speaker 2: But they wouldn't have had that chance if not were that late flag.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it was the.
- 3:49Speaker 2: the lateness of it is what was yeah, I mean I guess you buy the.
- 3:53Speaker 2: You know you could probably call it on a lot of plays on, but the one on FSU, when FSU on Coleman that was more egregious and they did not throw the flag and that was four town.
- 4:05Speaker 2: But I'm just glad that those didn't decide it.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It went into overtime.
- 4:09Speaker 3: And I'm, I, yeah, other than that, I'm going to actually you go back and you look at at all of the condensed footage and all the everything man and it they led.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Both teams hold pretty much on the line all day.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Byers, byers was was getting away with the lot, but so was the interior of Clemson's defensive offensive line.
- 4:29Speaker 3: They were just, you know, bear hugging.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Fabian, love it every play.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 3: So they, it wasn't good officiating but it was consistently bad as far as that goes.
- 4:40Speaker 3: But that, like you said, the consistency is always good.
- 4:43Speaker 3: That, that, uh, that no call on the holding on Coleman after the pass.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Interference on green.
- 4:49Speaker 3: That was egregious.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it was.
- 4:52Speaker 3: But it's like I said, man, officials are people too.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Dude, I don't think it's, I don't think it's intent.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I think they just get overwhelmed with the environment.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Right, I think it's intent.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's the ACC and you know it's Greensboro.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Still all, all the road.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You know that's.
- 5:11Speaker 2: But at beginning, at the beginning of the season, this is man, this is.
- 5:15Speaker 2: If you were to say FSU is four and I were going to the bi-week, I mean this is great man.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I mean you had your two toughest opponents on the schedule before the season.
- 5:24Speaker 2: If you looked at it and doesn't look that way anymore, there's still a lot of a tough game.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Who's tougher?
- 5:31Speaker 2: I'm just saying I agree, I agree at Clemson, yeah, at Florida is going to be tough At Florida is going to be tough.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I mean Dukes.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That always is a.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Dukes, not, it's not your father's.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Duke.
- 5:43Speaker 3: You get two of your.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Your three toughest conference games left, what appear to be your toughest conference games left?
- 5:50Speaker 3: You get two of them at home Miami and Duke.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah, Q's probably Miami's got their chance.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Well, that's that's going to be.
- 6:01Speaker 2: They're looking a lot better than you know.
- 6:03Speaker 2: That game's looking a lot tougher than it did previously.
- 6:07Speaker 3: It is, there's, there's.
- 6:07Speaker 3: You know, Duke looks like it's going to be a ranked matchup man.
- 6:10Speaker 3: We'll see what they do against Notre Dame, Not even close.
- 6:14Speaker 2: It's crazy Game day is going to be in Durham.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, first time ever.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Is that official?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah it is.
- 6:21Speaker 3: It is for the bi-week.
- 6:22Speaker 3: It's as much about Notre Dame coming as it is.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Oh, it is, yeah, but Duke's undefeated and it's a good matchup, so it it?
- 6:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it will see, man.
- 6:32Speaker 3: They got the number one defense statistically in the country.
- 6:34Speaker 3: We'll see what it.
- 6:38Speaker 3: What happens when they they got to play it Like Notre Dame is huge on the offensive line.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Enormous linemen.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Well, let's go back.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You just can't see in the beat Ohio State, though, can you?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Well, it helps me.
- 6:51Speaker 1: You got a hundred years.
- 6:52Speaker 3: You got to have 11 guys on the field, right?
- 6:54Speaker 3: That's step number one, man.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I'm looking for it.
- 6:58Speaker 3: What do you look?
- 6:59Speaker 2: That helps.
- 6:59Speaker 2: What are you looking forward to?
- 7:01Speaker 2: I know it's a bi-week, but next time FSU takes the field, what, what do you want to see?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Big time.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Yeah, a healthy Jordan Travis, or run the ball.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I agree that's a good one.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I want to see that guy 60 yard run man.
- 7:18Speaker 1: We haven't had any good runs out of him this year.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Right yeah, and that really just puts another element to your offense.
- 7:25Speaker 2: He did look.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It keeps the defense so honest when you do that, yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 2: He looks like, I mean, he gutted it out, he definitely gutted it out.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Looks like that his arm had to affect his throwing because he was off on a lot of throws.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a little thing, but man.
- 7:42Speaker 2: He made one of his better throws of his career, I think at the end and overtime.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Oh, he talked about 82.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's it and I that's what I'm going to remember about that game is 82 touchdowns.
- 7:56Speaker 1: That's right.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And in what McDonough tried to set up as a storybook ending for the kicker ended up being a storybook ending for I did, I did.
- 8:07Speaker 1: That was great.
- 8:08Speaker 2: It was such a great ending for Jordan Travis.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It kind of the game itself kind of personified his career, you know struggled, but he fought through it.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Didn't give up and and he still believed, and he came through when he had to.
- 8:24Speaker 1: He played well.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, no turnovers, and that's that's the big thing.
- 8:28Speaker 3: That's the key, that's.
- 8:29Speaker 3: That's the difference.
- 8:31Speaker 2: There is a difference.
- 8:32Speaker 2: There is the one huge play, the sack, the scoop, the score by the the score.
- 8:40Speaker 1: The most demoralizing play in all football.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I think that's you saw it.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah, we learned that last week Right.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Because there's no way that FSU wins without that, without that.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, 4 for 4, baby, number four on D, number four on O.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, even if it's just a sack.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you know you like.
- 9:02Speaker 3: All right, you take him out of field goal range.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Maybe you hold him out of the end zone, I didn't.
- 9:06Speaker 2: No, he put his helmet right on the ball.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It was great.
- 9:09Speaker 3: It had the scoop and score.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Thing of beauty, and it was the assist from then trying to pick it up by old Fiske.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Old Fiske, yeah, and he tipped it right to Delo.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Should he got to run it right in?
- 9:19Speaker 2: Well, it's the bye week.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I know you're looking forward to the Ryder Cup big time, no, what perfect timing for the bye week to be during the Ryder Cup in Rome.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I know.
- 9:30Speaker 2: It is man, god.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I know you should be there.
- 9:32Speaker 1: You got the captain's pick, ricky Fowler coming out.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be exciting.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be exciting, but the US having won in Europe in 30 years, that's over.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so you think FSU retains the cup?
- 9:48Speaker 1: FSU.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, fsu is on Brooks Capecca coming in hot.
- 9:54Speaker 2: What was FSU's on Paul Azinger?
- 9:55Speaker 2: That was a part of the team 30 years ago when they did win in Europe.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Huh.
- 10:00Speaker 1: So yeah, I like it.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be tough.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It'll be fun to watch, but we'll talk to you after the Virginia Tech game.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Before, how's that sound?
- 10:10Speaker 2: Absolutely All right.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Big time, noel.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Get up the North Florida Sports Network.
- 10:16Speaker 2: There's always big time, thanks to Big Time Noel.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Noel, you're just happy about being formed.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I'm just happy about being 4-0 and the Ryder Cup coming this week, and that couldn't be at a better time.
- 10:40Speaker 2: But, I got Jimmy Reno still with me and we are going to go over last week real quick and then we're going to pick the big games this coming week.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You know Colorado got smoked man, you're wrong about that.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I thought they would at least score, but holy shh.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Buzzsaw.
- 11:00Speaker 3: They just didn't.
- 11:01Speaker 3: They can't protect.
- 11:03Speaker 2: No.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I think well, they still got to play Utah right.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, utah and Washington, so they're going to take some more beatings like that.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Thanks for watching the.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Maybe they can score on USC.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Everybody else can score on USC.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Well, that's the philosophy right, that of the decoordinator.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Alex Grinch listen, man, if you just get off the field or Offence can get back out there.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I don't care if they scored, you just get off the field.
- 11:30Speaker 3: That's his philosophy get off the field as quickly as you can tackle, don't tackle whatever.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Well, you know what else I've been, so I was kind of out of town.
- 11:43Speaker 2: You know I had another year around the calendar celebration and yeah.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Well, you know, around the globe.
- 11:51Speaker 3: The first game was was obviously took the cake for the weekend.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll tell you what stands out immediately, just looking at our opponent next, not next week, but you know mm-hmm down the line.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Virginia Tech get yeah beat by Marshall.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Oh.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Yeah, lost 24, 17 gave up 200 214 yards on the ground, Mmm so oh, that's not what you look at.
- 12:15Speaker 3: If you're looking for the running game for Florida State to get, try to get going it's probably Next game against Virginia Tech would be as good as anybody, right?
- 12:24Speaker 3: But really, man, I mean that the big story from the weekend had to be the Notre Dame Ohio State game.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yes 10 guys on the field for the last two plays.
- 12:32Speaker 2: No, that's your guy yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I don't, I just, and they're adding up for him man, kind of like boneheaded stuff.
- 12:39Speaker 3: You know, just big game, big game.
- 12:41Speaker 3: You know, I don't, I don't get it once.
- 12:45Speaker 3: You know ten guys out there for the for one play.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Okay, I got it man.
- 12:49Speaker 3: But there was a solid half a minute, between you know, of real time, not not on the game clock.
- 12:55Speaker 3: You know just 36, 37 seconds ticking off Before the last play is running, like you still don't do anything to run a guy out there, and you look, you look at it, man, they ran right where a defensive lineman should have been lined up for the game, winning touchdown.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I just yeah, I don't know what to say about it.
- 13:14Speaker 3: That's crazy, his answer afterward, kind of trying to To own it and say well, we thought it was a better decision than trying to get somebody out there.
- 13:20Speaker 3: It's even worse, man.
- 13:23Speaker 3: It just digging himself.
- 13:24Speaker 3: So you knew it.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I don't think he knew it?
- 13:26Speaker 3: I don't think he knew it.
- 13:27Speaker 3: There's no way.
- 13:28Speaker 3: No, there's no way.
- 13:29Speaker 3: I don't think anybody had any idea, which is bad enough in and of itself, but right.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever man, that point of the game.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it was huge, but they, you know that game was a Kind of a snoozer slugfest the whole yeah and defense is really kind of dictating it.
- 13:45Speaker 3: And then the last series Al golden, we're gonna play prevent and just let him move right down the field at time and time again.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know even defense is the worst that was the big one, man.
- 13:59Speaker 3: You know there's some other game I will get in, shut out by Penn State.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, well.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it wasn't.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I don't want to say it was surprising because you know I was does stuff like that, but maybe Penn State's for real.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Okay, matt and Mara was hurt, going into it in their offense, I mean their defensive team.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It was a wide out.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you know it's perfect story kind of thing.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Mania's.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Has that Penn State defense playing some good ball?
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and I picked them to win the big 10.
- 14:30Speaker 3: We'll see, man, we'll see.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I think they can beat Ohio State.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I don't know what Michigan is, do they don't?
- 14:36Speaker 2: they haven't played yeah yeah, so we still don't know who they are.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they moved Ohio State ahead of FSU in the polls.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Who cares?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not worried about that, it's the reactionary stuff yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean they.
- 14:52Speaker 2: They beat Notre Dame at night on the road.
- 14:54Speaker 2: That's a big win.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a big win.
- 14:56Speaker 3: It's a big one.
- 14:57Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, we got, we got a lot of season left.
- 15:01Speaker 2: stuff like that'll work, it's but yeah, florida Got by Charlotte.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I think it was good thing that game wasn't on TV, man.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Yeah it seemed like it was kind of ugly right, just kind of I don't know man sort of a sort of a standard easy, easy chalk kind of evening right after our game and but it I Tell you what watch out for the blue Devils, the dookies.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah, they got game day coming to Durham this coming up week and that is just this story in itself.
- 15:37Speaker 2: You know, if you just said that just a couple years ago.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Well, I mean it speaks to Mike Elko as a coach but, but kind of look, step back and look at the Pac-12 and the ACC Right a lot of teams that have yet to scratch loss you know, Looking, looking, pretty, looking, pretty tough man and the non-conference part of the schedules are over, so yeah, you're gonna start seeing some Beat up on each other.
- 16:01Speaker 2: So when we'll see how the playoff committee looks at that.
- 16:04Speaker 2: When teams go compared to each other at the end of the year, which was in the past, you'd always give the benefit of doubt to the SEC or the Big 10 even.
- 16:14Speaker 2: But we'll see if that, if that's the same case, because it's gonna come up this season- definitely.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Pac-12 is incredible right now.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yeah, right now it's gonna cannibalize itself, though.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I the sec looks I.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Picked Washington when the pack 12 to mediocre at bass man.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I mean, georgia is Georgia, but you even Albin, by the way, lane Kiffin, yeah, is he ever gonna win a game?
- 16:42Speaker 3: That like means anything Like that doubt.
- 16:45Speaker 3: This was your chance to beat Nick Savin.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Like this is easily as down as their roster has been.
- 16:51Speaker 3: You got your quarterback, all these guys coming back and then you get 10 points.
- 16:55Speaker 3: I Know there's a lot of people that were kind of clamoring for Lane Kiffin to come to Florida State at some point in the recent past.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I'm kind of glad it didn't happen, man, yeah, but anyway, yeah, like, like you said, dude, these conferences, they're gonna start cannibalizing each other.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yep.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I don't think the SEC is gonna hold up as the top dog this year.
- 17:19Speaker 3: They're just there's too many teams that aren't good.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 3: We'll see man big one this week make Florida Kentucky.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that is a well, let's go ahead and pick that game.
- 17:32Speaker 2: That's.
- 17:33Speaker 2: That's gonna be at noon Saturday.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I know I want to pick a game on Friday, though before that.
- 17:38Speaker 2: So let's go to that one.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Let's depict that, and it's an ACC one.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Louisville big one, fancy state.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I'm glad we're not playing Louisville this year.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Glad we're not playing either one of these teams.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yeah, but Louisville is minus three.
- 17:55Speaker 2: They're at North Carolina State who you got.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I got Louisville man and I think they they cover.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I think they went by a couple of scores.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Brian Brahms got a role and he's got.
- 18:08Speaker 2: He's always kind of wanted that job.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's got the quarterback that he wanted.
- 18:13Speaker 3: He brought him with him, so it's you know they, they seem to be humming along.
- 18:17Speaker 3: I kind of agree that they're kind of a dark horse there to reach Charlotte.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, because they don't play Florida State, nor Clemson or UNC.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Yeah, so they got to get by Miami and that's, that's going to be a game.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I'll go Louisville, okay, also Utah going up to Corvallis, yeah, yeah.
- 18:40Speaker 2: They're a dog.
- 18:40Speaker 2: They're a dog.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Well, no, actually, yeah, Oregon State is minus three and a half.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I got Utah one in this man.
- 18:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, I like the quarterback for the max back.
- 18:56Speaker 2: No, is it DJ?
- 18:58Speaker 3: Yeah, DJ.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Anything Utah will have will solve him.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, they're good man.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Washington State got him last week.
- 19:07Speaker 2: That was a good game.
- 19:08Speaker 3: It really was beat him by a field goal.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I think Utah has the best defense in the pack 12.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it shut man.
- 19:14Speaker 2: They're the only ones that have done that.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Chip Kelly in the pack 12, like they have.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that that was.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I mean.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I mean you know freshman quarterback, but still well, this, this cam rising kid ever play.
- 19:27Speaker 2: We'll find out again.
- 19:28Speaker 2: The story continues.
- 19:31Speaker 3: It's your shape enough like he's not going to suit up this year.
- 19:36Speaker 2: All right.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Well, let's go to Saturday and we'll start right there, where you were going to start, and that's Kentucky, in Florida.
- 19:41Speaker 2: It's a big game.
- 19:43Speaker 2: It's on the road in Kentucky.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to pick.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Florida's getting one point.
- 19:53Speaker 3: No cover yeah One point.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I mean it's a, it's pretty much a pick them.
- 19:57Speaker 3: I'll pick the Gators.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I think they'll still be able to run the ball and their defense is looking pretty good.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Yeah, they really are.
- 20:05Speaker 3: And, similar to Tennessee, kentucky always seems to find a way to not win.
- 20:10Speaker 3: You know when they're playing the Gators, so yeah, I think Florida defensively as turn to corner.
- 20:20Speaker 2: So that's in the sum you maybe can start relying upon and then they can start running the ball.
- 20:25Speaker 2: You can maybe get some wins going.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see.
- 20:29Speaker 3: I mean, you know Stoops, they kind of they got to figure out how to stop Graham Mertz man.
- 20:33Speaker 3: He's like one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the country, right now.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I think Florida wins too, so let's move on.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Texas A&M is playing Arkansas.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Yeah, they're going to be without their QB for the rest of the season?
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Connor Wigman.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah, he's out.
- 20:49Speaker 2: They're going to Max Johnson.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Yeah, max Johnson, give me Arkansas Coming off that tough loss against LSU and Baton Rouge.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I think they'll remount on their hand Jim Bob another one of his patented losses that he shouldn't take.
- 21:06Speaker 3: You know, 2011, virginia type of deal.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 21:09Speaker 2: All right, well, I'm going to stick with Jim Bo.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I'm going to stick with Johnson.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Give me A&M.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Max Johnson.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, penn State.
- 21:23Speaker 2: No, we're not going to pick them in Northwestern, we're not going to do it.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Let's go back to the ACC and Clemson is going up to the dome and playing the undefeated Orangeman.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Back to back noon games for Clemson.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's man.
- 21:43Speaker 3: That's a tough one, dude.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I'm taking cues.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Wow, this is.
- 21:47Speaker 3: You know, dino's got his guy Trader.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Unless he's got an alley, he's probably going to be starting right.
- 21:53Speaker 3: So I think they'll get him, man, I just you know.
- 21:58Speaker 3: First of all, I don't think Nate Wiggins is back for that Clemson.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Second, year which is going to be huge.
- 22:03Speaker 3: That guy's shut down pretty much, especially if they let him hold.
- 22:08Speaker 3: But any you know he'll be out.
- 22:11Speaker 3: So that I just you just got to think about it, man, what they just went through Saturday right.
- 22:17Speaker 3: You know at home now they got, and you know what Syracuse is going up there to play there.
- 22:22Speaker 3: It's just weird.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, and that they're going.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I mean it's hey, so you're going give me cues, give me cues in the upset.
- 22:31Speaker 2: I am going, I'm going with Clemson.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're a good team.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I think this is where they get right.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Make a statement, I tell you.
- 22:38Speaker 3: What if Dabbo smart?
- 22:40Speaker 3: He will just hand the ball off 40 times.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I think they learn from that and I just think that they're better, they have better players in the end.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Oh, the players are still there and they, they should win this game on the road and make a statement that we're, we're coming back, we're we're not going anywhere, because, oh and three, I don't know, I just can't pick I'm going Clemson on this.
- 23:05Speaker 3: I know, man, it's hard to see dynasties kind of slide.
- 23:08Speaker 2: but well, I'm not saying that it isn't sliding already.
- 23:12Speaker 2: It's slid a little bit, but if they go to oh and three, that's another step that I did not foresee.
- 23:18Speaker 3: That's true, that's true, that's.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I mean, you're one win away, one loss away from 500.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 3: And they'll win games down the line.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah but they're facing all their tough.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's true.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, they got a front loaded schedule in the ACC, all right.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Well, let's move on.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Usc is playing prime in the boys at Colorado.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Usc is getting 21 and a half.
- 23:41Speaker 2: It's at Colorado Another noon kickoff.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's nine o'clock for USC local time 10 o'clock for Colorado.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Um, um, alright, I don't expect USC's defense to be able to do what Oregon did to Colorado right, however, yeah, yeah the tapes out there now right.
- 23:59Speaker 3: So even Alex Grinch might get a little aggressive against Colorado.
- 24:05Speaker 3: They may bring it, and you know do they Colorado can't stop Colorado cover.
- 24:13Speaker 2: No, that's the pick.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you're off of it.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think they can.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I don't think they can keep the pace with with Kayla Williams and you're not gonna get anything from that Colorado defense.
- 24:23Speaker 3: We saw that.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I agree.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, alright.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Georgia is going at Auburn, the oldest rivalry in the South.
- 24:33Speaker 3: I would love for it and.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Auburn's getting 14 and a half oh.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Man Like I, I'm gonna, just I'm gonna say Georgia covers that.
- 24:44Speaker 2: So they yeah, they gave her the spread, yeah.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I'd say they went by like 17 or something like, but but I mean, they're the, the boring offense that can keep a game like 24 14 and they'll still be number one.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Right, you know the defense will hold.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just Okay let's see if I can get you on another one game, similar it, but it's in the big 10, michigan's going to Nebraska and they are getting 17.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Yeah, they'll cover.
- 25:11Speaker 3: They're gonna do exactly what they've they've done to every team They've played so far, which is just slam it down their throat.
- 25:17Speaker 3: They haven't played.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Anybody in Nebraska is no better Jeff Sims if he plays and he's not playing.
- 25:23Speaker 2: He's not playing, no, okay.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Well that's why.
- 25:27Speaker 3: That's why you going with the upset?
- 25:29Speaker 2: No, but I'm going with the cover.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Okay, okay, well, yeah, I think Nebraska will be able to run it a little bit.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Hopefully you limit that and in Michigan's gonna try to run it too.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so and, and I'm milk steak and it's still and I mean the fans there still are bought in.
- 25:45Speaker 2: They're still bringing atmosphere, I think yeah they played Ohio State tough there, I think last year and I think they're gonna do to Michigan this year.
- 25:55Speaker 2: They'll cover.
- 25:56Speaker 2: They'll keep it a game in the second half, all right.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Corn Huskers you go.
- 26:02Speaker 2: All right, let's go to the big 12 and Kansas, the ranked Kansas Jayhawks in football ranked Kansas.
- 26:12Speaker 2: They're going to the number three, texas Longhorns, and they're getting 16 and a half points.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Really.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they cover that.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Mmm.
- 26:26Speaker 3: I think Texas wins.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so you, you got Kansas.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they cover that.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I Really like their quarterback.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Yeah, daniels and I think Leopold is a really good coach.
- 26:38Speaker 3: He's a guy that like he's the type of coach that could go somewhere like Virginia Tech and Actually make them decent again.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Mmm.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I think doing what he's, that's what he's doing in Kansas, right?
- 26:49Speaker 3: So I think they'll cover that.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I don't, I don't know, man, I think Sark's got too many weapons.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Well, it's definitely well, the at Texas yeah it's just the line here.
- 26:59Speaker 2: You're playing this one 16 and a half.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I Agree with you.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I think they're able to that quarterbacks pretty good and they'll be able to get keep the ball away from yours and Keep it close.
- 27:12Speaker 2: But I got Texas winning, but Kansas with the cover.
- 27:16Speaker 2: All right, missouri is ranked, but then we're not gonna pick them going to Vanderbilt, screw that game.
- 27:21Speaker 2: But LSU is At Ole Miss.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Here's a good one yeah this is gonna be a good game.
- 27:28Speaker 2: This is a good one, I'm gonna talk the clock ESPN, I'm talking a ton of trash about Lane this week.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yeah cuz I am, and this is a great opportunity.
- 27:35Speaker 2: They're getting two and a half at home.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah, home dog.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna pick LSU big, just to see you know cuz.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Right right now I'm just laying kiffing, is just going through the motions to me like mm.
- 27:46Speaker 3: It's like, dude, if you watch any of the Alabama game, I don't know what the hell he was thinking.
- 27:51Speaker 3: On offense, hmm, we're talking about you're down two scores with four minutes left in your running draw place and you know shit like that man.
- 27:59Speaker 3: So I think he may have checked out, but we'll see.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I got LSU winning the West in the SEC.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I think they do it right here.
- 28:07Speaker 2: They're gonna keep winning.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I think they go into Oxford and and really beat the crap out of Lane.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Now here's your opportunity kiffing.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, this is gonna be a big game, yeah yeah bounce back game At home, espn six o'clock.
- 28:22Speaker 2: But I agree, I think LSU comes in there and gets the road victory.
- 28:28Speaker 3: So it Jayden Daniels, looking really good man.
- 28:30Speaker 3: We yeah week.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he is, and so it's gonna.
- 28:35Speaker 2: They're gonna be hard to stop.
- 28:36Speaker 2: And what?
- 28:37Speaker 2: What are you doing on offense Lane?
- 28:38Speaker 2: I mean?
- 28:39Speaker 2: You gotta supposed to have a deep quarterback room.
- 28:41Speaker 3: No, you don't.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Jackson Dart is suboptimal, or has been this year.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Spencer Sanders is awful, you know.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Mike Gundy is is on his way to a five and seven year and he was fine with letting Spencer Sanders walk from stillwater.
- 28:53Speaker 3: So that that's your quarterback.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Yeah, okay.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Well, let's do the.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Let's do the one, the the game day game.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Let's go to Durham.
- 29:04Speaker 3: There it is, man.
- 29:05Speaker 3: You don't just walk into Wallace Wade.
- 29:06Speaker 3: He gets you a W now, right.
- 29:09Speaker 2: That's yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Wow, notre Dame's walking in there in that number 11, number 17, duke.
- 29:16Speaker 2: I.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Believe the top defense in the country statistically.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that's they, I Mean.
- 29:23Speaker 3: I don't think they can match up physically with Notre Dame for the whole game, I don't.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I think that they can maybe do some razzle, dazzling and Match points with him for a while, but but that physical run game that Notre Dame has, I think, will wear Duke down hmm, but you know what's the spread in this one.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Notre Dame is minus five and a half.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Oh, give me Notre Dame covering that.
- 29:52Speaker 3: I got him by, by touchdown At least, maybe even 10 points.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Oh, oh yeah.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I mean Hartman's, not.
- 30:00Speaker 3: He's not a stranger to the plan against, even with Elko yeah, it's I.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Now he doesn't have the wide receivers that he had at wakefores, that's that's true.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Which is insane to say out loud, but yeah, oh man, I want to.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I like the quarterback Duke has, I like his competitive fire and I think he gets the upset.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I'm picking the Duke.
- 30:26Speaker 2: He's outright.
- 30:28Speaker 3: That's a huge one.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Right there, that's a huge one.
- 30:30Speaker 3: You bounce Notre Dame from from playoff contention officially.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I want to see Duke come in the dope undefeated.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I want to see Little bit of 1994.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to see them come here.
- 30:42Speaker 2: You know I'd like to see that atmosphere For an ACC home game again.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But that's just down the line.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Give me Duke in the upset at home, All right.
- 30:52Speaker 2: All right, Jimmy, that's it for this week man.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Nothing else after that.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I think I hear it, man, we had to go.
- 31:04Speaker 2: We gotta get on out of here, though, but in the bi-week for FSU, brigham Young, insta, episcopal yeah, what'd you like to see at FSU Besides get healthy, get healthy.
- 31:21Speaker 2: That's obvious.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Figure out the run game man.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Figure it out Like if Jordan's not going to keep it, it starts keeping up something different.
- 31:31Speaker 3: I don't know, it just doesn't look good.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Hopefully they get some health back on the offensive line.
- 31:41Speaker 3: I would like to see some of the younger offensive linemen get some like meaningful reps.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:47Speaker 3: And I'm not like you know.
- 31:49Speaker 3: S-dez get in there with the ones or something, or Mella get out there with Tackle with the ones.
- 31:54Speaker 3: I feel like that man.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the Rathers don't have a bi-week.
- 31:58Speaker 2: And they continued what is now 17 straight in Bragg Stadium, man.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Nobody's beaten them yeah.
- 32:06Speaker 2: They're going to be on the road this week.
- 32:08Speaker 2: They're going against Mississippi Valley.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the old Jerry Rice is old, oh yeah.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I see the Rathers winning big.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't think they're going to lose again.
- 32:20Speaker 2: So if you're when they're in Bragg, they'll be back in Bragg on the 21st of October.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Oh wait, no 14th.
- 32:30Speaker 2: I'm sorry about that.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Hey man, it's a bi-week.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to the Ryder Cup, but I'm also looking forward to the Duke Better Game Game.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I want to see if Mike Elko can do it again at home.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Can they rush the field again?
- 32:43Speaker 2: Yeah, they beat.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Clemson there.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I agree, touchdown they're going to.
- 32:49Speaker 3: I think they'll need some luck a little bit, like they had Like getting inside the 10, three times in Nutscorn.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't Red zone defense will be key.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:58Speaker 2: And I mean that's, that is key.
- 33:00Speaker 2: You got to keep people out of the end zone.
- 33:02Speaker 3: What I'm interested to see is are they going to?
- 33:03Speaker 3: Can they get pressure on Hartman Right?
- 33:06Speaker 3: Because if they can get pressure on Hartman, then we might have a long night with Duke.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness, oh boy.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I think FSU picked a perfect time to have a bat bi-week, especially now that you got the wins the 4 and 0 driver's seat.
- 33:23Speaker 3: It's a dream scenario, right?
- 33:25Speaker 2: But it's going to play out.
- 33:26Speaker 2: There's some dark horses out there.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:28Speaker 3: But like if you could have said, going in there, 4 and 0 and Clemson's already all but eliminated from from being there.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Yeah, perfect, all right.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Well, I appreciate it.
- 33:37Speaker 2: We'll do it again next time.
- 33:39Speaker 2: We'll see you at NFL next time, right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
- 33:45Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Our ride was here, uh Seattle, uh tomorrow.
