- Mark Garrett: America has lost a friend and a patriot, and so have I. This show's friend and a man who became my friend, even though I never met him in per in person. Sam Fattis passed away just a couple of days ago. Let me read the statement ⁓ from his family. Sam passed away quietly at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia on the evening of twenty five july twenty-sixth. His wife, four children, remaining brother, and other family members were with him. We ask that you respect the family's privacy as we mourn the loss of our best friend, husband, father, and truth teller. Amen to that. He will be missed greatly for many reasons by so many. His family is profoundly grateful to the doctors and medical staff who cared for him, and to all of you who have shared your prayers, well wishes, and Support. This was ⁓ at least as far as I know, it was a pretty short illness, may have been longer than that, but it was certainly short from the time that I found out that he was hospitalized until his passing, just a matter of a couple or few days. You know, I came across Sam via ⁓ Imprimus publication put out by Hillsdale College. I encourage all of you to sign up for Imprimus. It's free. Hillsdale College is a fantastic. Fantastic institution who teaches about America's founding and America's promise. And Sam was a huge supporter of Hillstall College as I am. I reached out to him through an email. He got back to me. He asked me a little about myself. And after a couple of days, he said, I'd love to come on your podcast. And of course, he's been a guest on the show so many times. What was important to me. about the article that he wrote in that edition of in Primus was he was talking about the problems with the CIA. This is a couple of years ago and how to fix them. And of course Sam was is was a retired CIA operations officer. So here's a guy who had been part of this organization, who had served in the Middle East during our our efforts in the Middle East right after nine eleven. And here he was criticizing, but in a productive way, his former agency because he wanted to make it right. He was brave, he was objective, and he told the truth about where it had gone astray and how it could and should be fixed. And that's the kind of man that Sam Faz was. He told the truth about everything. ⁓ and That includes about how to fix this country, what the problems were, what they are, and how we can right this ship. I just wanted to say how sorry I am to the family and how much we'll miss him on this show and how much I will miss him personally. It's hard to believe that Sam is gone. It's a reminder to all of us, for those of us who truly are lucky enough To have a wonderful family, have wonderful friends. Call ⁓ and just tell ⁓ hi, tell ⁓ you love ⁓ reach out because tomorrow is not promised. Sam, we will miss you terribly. We'll miss your insight, and I will miss your friendship. God bless you, my friend, and I will see you on the other side.
