- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey everyone, welcome to the social evolution podcast.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: This is Patrick Barney.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm one of your hosts.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: And with me is the other host, Curtis Frazier.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think today we are going to talk about sensationalized news stories.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: There was one in particular that actually occurred today that I found pretty interesting.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: But, um, go ahead.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, okay.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so apparently there was some kind of congressional hearing just today, July 29th in which, uh, on these 26, 2026, July 29th, 2026.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: in which some kind of committee Republican led committee headed by Rand Paul Senator Rand Paul, you know, they brought Dr. Fauci in.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: To ask him questions about his handling of the COVID pandemic, you know, if we remember Dr. Fauci was kind of in charge of how the U.S. responded to the COVID pandemic and, you know,
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: you know he so he's the guy who like mandated that well i don't know if he technically did this stuff but you know he's the guy republicans blame for mandating vaccines mandating masks oh well you know he created the whole covid-19 plan demic right by uh just to make trump look bad he doesn't do that already find self well enough
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was, it was everybody was forced to get their Fauci out.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: And you can sell unvaccinated sperm for a million dollars a load now.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sorry, I'm just, I have a lot of Facebook and a while.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: I imagine it still has the same stupid shit on it.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: I did, you know, I think it's, I think it's amusing that, you know, like, they planned the
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: Someone, I guess the deep state, I don't know how it was demo, I mean, I guess maybe they think Democrats did or the deep space states, it's always the Democrats, but anyway, the people who to the rest of us look like they don't have any power but somehow run everything, right?
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Everything bad.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, basically there was a, there was a, uh, there was a congressional hearing,
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: because apparently Dr. Fowd and one of Dr. Fauci's lawyers wanted to sit at the table with Dr. Fauci and Rampold didn't like that and also the lawyer wanted to speak and Rampold was like you haven't been recognized so you're not allowed to speak and it kind of goes back and forth to several minutes before Rampold is finally like you know
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: And as far as I can see, like the guy wasn't the lawyer for Fauci wasn't freaking out, but he was trying to speak, uh, which I guess you're not allowed to do out of turn and then can get congressional hearing, um,
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't as if all of Fauci's lawyers were told to leave.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: It was just this one guy.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, but it did seem very sensationalized.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: It seemed like like a bullshit story.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like it didn't even need to happen to start with, but we're making a big deal out of it because.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: Well, one, it's 2026.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Why the hell do we need to keep interviewing Fauci?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that was kind of my first thought like when is it going to be over he's going to be like, you know, a hundred sitting there at this You know, never had to go before and then I know of at least.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I haven't like look researched it up or anything, but I don't think he's had to do this in the first like 30 years he had his position.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it doesn't
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Why we need to keep we're not talking about abstain.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess we're not talking about abstain.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't I don't know why we would need to keep talking interviewing Fauci after all these years.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: I read some posts suggesting that what the Republicans are trying to do is to get him to purge
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: under O, so they can charge him with something.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Biden preemptively pardoned Fauci for any, all the thing, all for any crimes he may have committed in his handling of the, the COVID pandemic.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: Not that I think Fauci like intentionally committed crimes, but while you are administering kind of overseeing a complicated situation like
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: a pandemic.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: It is possible that you might issue orders or issue or have people do things that could be illegal.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, without even really knowing it or thinking about it, right?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Does that make sense?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, it's always talking about the pandemic again and how he was like air quotes in charge of it.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: uh... i think it's an interesting note about how americans well trumplicans see the uh... the uh... the uh... the twenty twenty twenty basically as uh... basically a conspiracy against Donald Trump right and uh... like the rest of the world also underwent this right right like like it was a world-wide pandemic right but it didn't even start in america right like it got to us
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: and somehow it's like that was the plan all the long and we're so good for not being able to see how all these strings are actually attached on the wall of absurdity it's it's deep conspiracy thinking which is which is pretty frustrating.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the solution to all of our problems here on Planet Earth is like very, very easy.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't require a whole lot of deep conspiracy or anything like that.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you just need to be a reasonable person.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: You just need to be decent, you know, keep in mind that the ultimate goal here is not to see who you can make your prey.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know, who you can victimize in some way, you know, how you can get off on on the top and just take the, you know, the gravy train to with biscuit wheels to the, the Emerald City or whatever the fuck I want to say it, but more you were trying to be one planet working together, moving forward in the universe.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we're sharing resources and knowledge to the point that nothing is a question anymore.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: But we're really working against that because the people that have answers want to hide them from everyone else, and I'm not just like, I know that sounds vague, but you know, I'm speaking, of course, of, you know, technological advances.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: you know, just a congressional hearing.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: And it's maybe a metaphor for just politics and entertainment in general in our country, you know, everything is our politics has become entertainment.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like there's no focus on anything that's important anymore, it's all just this sensationalized bullshit after bullshit day after week after whatever the fuck you know like every cycle It's something else and we're never gonna get anywhere because we're again
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: No one cares about what should really be the focus, which is it's all just this bullshit.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: The focus is the endgame, like we're all going to die.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to run out of resources.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is going to end.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: And do you want to be the ones that just couldn't figure out what you were doing wrong, even though the answer was right in front of you, or do you want to be the, you know, the generation that gets it right?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: That fixes everything.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we would, we would like to be the generation that gets it right, but it really seems like we're super far away from from being the generation that gets it right.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: It really does, but it's like, you know, if someone's out there, spewing bullshit, don't vote for them.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: If your options are two people spewing bullshit, put up somebody else and vote for them.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this isn't fucking
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh man, it's not super complicated, you know, like you have a system set up.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of that, where you just said, you know, if you've got two people viewing bullshit, uh, put up a third candidate.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: And that reminds me of all the, um, kind of infighting that is going on within the Democratic Party between candidates who are progressive
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, have you heard of the mayor in New York, Zellron, Mamdoni, Mamdoni, I think it's how you spend saves them.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: And then you got the more the more centrist who really are right of center if if we're comparing US politics to say Scandinavia or someone else, somewhere else.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, um, but basically basically we've got essentially people who are Republicans who call
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: you know, if you're a democratic socialist, you're not a Democrat.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Don't run as one, you know, and I find that I find that amusing because, you know, these, you know, these, these people like John Fetterman have you heard of John Fetterman?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: Pennsylvania, is he from Pennsylvania, but basically he's just this real-duesh senator, I think he's a senator, he may be a congressman, but he's basically this real congressman, he's a congressman, just a real-duesh guy who made a lot of progressive promises, and then when he got into
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, runs as a progressive Democrat gets elected.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's just another run in the mill piece of shit asshole Democrat who who doesn't who just wants to like suck the corporate cock basically Yeah, just get on his knees These wheels turn on.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the corporate cock and fuck the people I mean the thing is you know the people are really disposable if you know right yeah if 10% of them Seas to exist there would just be replaced and you know another five years by more people
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even a big deal, right?
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: But federal means a piece of shit.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: And he's the one who ran in like a sweatshirt, right?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he, he wears super casual clothes all the time.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: Nate, um, I don't care about that.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: But what, what I think is is intriguing is the reason that you have,
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: is and there are a few other people and say there's like Rashida Talib and AOC who are progressives who are in Congress now.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: You have people who are progressive Democrats who are
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: uh, the policies of Democrats from say 80 years ago, post World War II, where, well, I guess, uh, that's not post World War II.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: The new deal is like right in the early 40s, late 30s.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess that's prior to World War II, closer to 90 years ago.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, you have these progressive Democrats, like AOC, who aren't really socialists, they're just Democrats from 90 years ago, who wanted to tax the rich and, you know, have at least a serviceable middle class
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we've talked about this before, you know, like last century, you weren't allowed to have monopoly.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: You weren't allowed to buy up everything and have one company that controls, you know, the way we do now.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like they took the richest guy in America to, uh, to court over it.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't win despite being, you know, John D fucking Rockefeller.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's still lost.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: That was kind of the point.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: The wealthy Americans, you know, the wealthy people they paid off were worth two.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: They paid like 97% of it.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and that was fine.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: Those policies just trickle it away.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know, pretending to be like, starting with a trickle down.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I didn't really start with Reagan.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think it started
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: the movement of you know have people who work 40 hours a week so that they can continue to not be naked or live outside or starve and they'll keep working 40 hours a week because they just you know they don't want to be naked starving right home you know homeless people that don't want to be that yeah so you got to go to work you know and that's what you were for you don't ever make progress now
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we are the working poor and you'll be Yeah, this is the greatest country in the world.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: You'll know that.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: You can't afford to go anywhere else.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I mean, I just think it's, I think it's Interesting that like people like Federman who are complaining about people with democratic policies from 90 years ago.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: you know, they're complaining about them running as a Democrat when, you know, it's, it's, it's the party that's shifted right words.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like American politics has shifted right words since the end of World War II.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, we've, well, it's maybe that's not right.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe, that's just propaganda.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, for a while,
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, over time those taxes have gone away, the working class of lost and lost and lost and lost.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: The person who is a moderate Democrat right now, who calls himself a moderate Democrat, like Blake Fetterman, is actually a Republican.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: And a person who calls himself a Republican right now is actually a fucking fascist.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: you know that like that's where our our politics are at well 10 years after World War 2 we basically took over where Hitler dropped off and started our red scare and yeah and you know went through all the politics and entertainment the cold whatever and whatnot yeah you know for all the conversation for our war on on the people who helped us fight the Nazis
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: Right, exactly.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's interesting, too, because essentially people who were like, they had one gun for every other person.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: And help us fight to fucking Nazis like that.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: If there was a reason that the allies won the war on Germany, it's because of the Soviet Union, you know, without the Soviet Union, we lose full stop.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like the number of
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: The number of Soviet casualties and the number of Soviet victories is just on Nazi Germany as so much higher in both cases than in any other country, right, like they did.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: They gave more and did more for the resolution of that war than pretty much any other country.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: And probably more than several
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: other countries combined basically the reason we're not Nazis right now and we turn the fuck on them is because of the Soviet Union now granted I don't want to
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to give them the the misleading impression that I'm a full like tanky authoritarian socialist supporter because I'm not I think the Soviet Union committed plenty of atrocities of its own and the way I established it in Daito 53.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, solid Daito 53.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: He was in power for about 20 years.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's estimated that his policies ended up in anywhere from
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Right, you know.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, obviously Stalin was a not a good dude and in, in, in, in, in respects on par with, uh, Hitler in terms of deaths.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe not, like with Hitler, you have the direct policy of extermination of, of Jewish people and political dissidents and gay people and things like that.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas with, and that leads to, you know, World War II, 11 million dead or however many, however many dead.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: So the difference between Stalin and Hitler's that Hitler's had direct policy decisions to kill people, whereas Stalin's direct policies were more like,
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: ship them away to goo logs, which is certainly terrible, but that's only like 800,000 of the of the millions that Stalin is is responsible for killing.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: So we're talking, Stalin's, it's more like he had indirect policies that he knew would harm people, but he didn't necessarily like think, I am going to kill
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: 6 million Jews like the soul is death right right like so I'm not I'm I'm I'm I'm stating that there is a difference between Stalin and Hitler even though Stalin is terrible and did horrible things Yeah, we're not necessarily saying that Russia's awesome.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Let's all you know
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: What we're saying is that they helped us, and then we stabbed them in the bag for no real good reason That's a horror I mean like Stalin was a dick, but you know, the reason to hate communism is not why we hate communism You know, we hate communism for all the reasons to hate authoritarian dictatorships who fucking suck Right.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's why we hate communism
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: say communism is out to say hey everybody just because you weren't born the king doesn't mean you have to live out here naked and work 40 hours a day you know because we are fucking slaves all right we shouldn't have to be slaves now the people who take communism they trick people into saying yeah give us all this power let us do this we're going to share share whatever
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: they get to the same thing.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: The end result is basically what we have here in our late stage capitalism where very few control the absolute vast majority of all the wealth that the rest of us are fighting over on the bottom.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the propaganda in this country has always been that communism
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: equals dictatorship, equals your broke.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, equals your broke and you're under a dictator.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: But right now, we're broke.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: And you've got to say about that.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: Under capitalism, we're still broke.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, my your broke, they're rich people out there.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, there's rich people in communism too.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: You dumbass mother fucker than the ones on top, just like here.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I, I don't think that equivalence is correct.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that only under pretty loose definitions was the Soviet Union socialist.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, basically, yeah, call it what you want.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's a fucking authoritarian dictator.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right, right.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's only a socialism under very loose terms, you know, but it was, it was definitely a, an authoritative authoritarian project that did do some work in alleviating the problems of the working class, but ultimately to my mind was a failure.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: you know this this is the nuanced position on the Soviet Union and China is actually pretty hard to come by specifically because of sensationalism.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know the cold war was essentially a 40-year propaganda war at least in the US.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well between the US and the Soviet Union you know like it was
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: and like a lot of the propaganda it's not it doesn't even say why you hate yeah yeah why exactly it's just who you hate right right it's just like you're you're a red or a pinko comi it's like you know i remember packs america i don't remember packs america what's uh you don't know
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: It was it was the play we did when they wouldn't do bank bank your dad.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay Yeah, it was about the red scare bang bang your dad was good Yeah, it was good.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: I scared people.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was really good.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: You were awesome.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: I remember that and that was a I was a bummer when they Yeah, they wouldn't they wouldn't allow you to allow us to do bang bang your dad.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: That was good.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well I should have given such a good performance.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was it was too believable.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, too believable
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: But you were super right for the role 100% but yeah, Pax America that's dumb play about red scared and she was terrible.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: I thought I was trying to make a point about what's real and what's just a made-up thing in your head.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: Right, right, right, right.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like your imagination is contributing to politics and affecting people's lives.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not what you think.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, absolutely.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: The sensationalism of the red scare.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: It happened back then and ship like that is still going on.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: That is what we're going through now.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're still going through.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's just with different actors and maybe a slightly different goals.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, now we, we hate the Mexicans.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: We are because they're taking our job,
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see anybody going out there, you know, like arresting people's mailloader brides.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see that going on.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: When I see it, I'll be all stand corrected.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say, you know, what?
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: I was wrong.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're going out there.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a big is there a is there a big trade in mail order brides?
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know I I haven't tried yet I'll give it a few more years when I'm like, you know, I can't but I can't do this anymore I'm just going to send you too lonely you'll but I'm so lonely I'm not going to a robot.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I'll just I'm too lonely just to get a mail order bride from
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Check with some Okiyers.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was taking one of those Eastern Asian.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know Northern European, whatever Eastern European country Eastern European, you know somewhere anywhere.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: This is not America, basically.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fucking kidding.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: We're being funny.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: Half of this is a lot of entertainment, but we are serious.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: that there has to be fucking change or nothing is going to change and if nothing changes we are and not not literally hopefully because if it if it is literal then it's not going to be fun but we are absolutely fucked.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're gonna have to do something, uh, we're gonna have to do something.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, uh, I mean, actually though, I've been feeling more optimistic about it.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, I started smoking weed again, too.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: But, actually, that's it.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't smoke weed.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so, I'm so bare, I've been sober for over nine years, but I've been starting to feel optimistic, and that's because right now we in this country, we are at a level of inequality that is almost unprecedented.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: We are talking about like French revolution levels of inequality.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: So this should be the precipice of change.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like the thing about it is people won't like when it gets to a certain point, people will not put up with it.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: And we're getting there.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: We hope we had, like you said, we're putting up with more than anyone else in society is put up with before.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: We don't either.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I think either in the next few years, this country is going to become a fascist dictatorship or we're in, we're in all dissentist suppressed.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: or we are going to, there's going to be revolutionary action.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I would like to run for a leader and I would do right by everyone.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: It would be my honor to do right by everyone.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like that would be the goal.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: If I did not right by everyone, I would kill myself in failure like like a Japanese.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like a samurai I would go like I failed I tried I'm gonna I'm gonna have to do it Sepicoo yeah, yeah, so that's that is that is my prediction Either we either we're going to fall into fascism or we are going to reach a tip in point It isn't chaos my guess one possibility is that the United States Balkanizes
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: you know, the thing about us is we have a very diverse population, ideologically speaking, meaning we have a big land mass, and there are a lot of different people with lots of different beliefs.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: And what we see in like Europe over time, countries have become smaller, become independent entities,
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: especially in the Balkans, hence the term.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that could happen in the United States where you have something like a West Coast to like California, Washington, Oregon, who head towards Scandinavian style socialism.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I will use the term socialism to describe Scandinavian, even though I know a lot.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: you know, weird people who think it somehow can logically consistent to say that they're both capitalist and free market even though like a huge portion of what they do is redistribute money from the wealthy in terms of services and give it to the poor.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's that socialism.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: We do that here in America.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: We just take things for the poor and give it to the right.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, and that's okay.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the people want.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: If you weren't a communist, you'd want that too.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: You'd want.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: We read.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we do that in the United States too.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we just, I personally argue that any form of redistribution from the wealthy to the, to the, the poor is a form of socialism.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: though, you know, you get, you get people who want to argue about it.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, so there's the idea that maybe we'll Balkanize and we'll have like three independent nations, maybe three or four with the West, and then maybe the mountain states, then maybe the Midwest, maybe, and then maybe East Coast.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: Last fine as long as nobody has slaves.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's that's a possibility.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I would say that you you probably want to be on the side of the revolution or get off this this rock you piece is a garbage.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I just had an interaction with George that was very unpleasant.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't have anything nice to say about that either in Georgia.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they charge me $800 basically for a speeding ticket.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: $885 is a lot for a speeding ticket.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: How fast over were you going?
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: 18 miles per hour.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's $800 for that.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's a that is a that is a lot.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if I had a if I had a vaporized Georgia button, I would've fucking hit that.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: You would have to stay for a while.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what kind of backwards southern horse shit you're trying to pull.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I guess to a certain degree if we, um,
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: If we did the Balkanization there, there would have to be some sort of overhead of rules, you know, where people can't just charge you a million dollars, because you were Jay walking from out of state.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: There might be, there might be like an EQ, like a, you know, we'll do something like that.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: We'll figure it out other than that.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not cool, you know what to do.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, get off the ride.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
