- 0:00Thirteen ten Wiba Madison in the morning and ask the experts. A lot of
- 0:04houses are rocking last night with this that move through. Looking at the forecast,
- 0:08we've got scattered showers till let's see tonight, scattered showers today, tomorrow?
- 0:16What else speak Tuesday? And a man who knows a lot about rain,
- 0:20the one and only Andrew Larson from Larsen Home Services the website Larsenhomeservices dot
- 0:24com. That's l A R. S O N Home Services dot com.
- 0:28Delphin number six oh eight five three five forty three forty three. That's five
- 0:31three five forty three forty three. Andrew, How you doing this morning?
- 0:35I'm doing fantastic. Now. I wouldn't say that I know a lot about
- 0:38rain. What I know about rain is it comes at It'd be kind of
- 0:42an educated guest. But I know that we need rain. I know that
- 0:46last year was one of the driest years and ten years I can remember,
- 0:50and May through July was the driest. Was that dryest stretch May through July
- 0:57on the record books. So I have a pond at my house is down
- 1:00like four feet and over the past couple of months it's filled up. This
- 1:03is good. This is a really really good thing. We all need this
- 1:07rain. But yeah, I mean as far as knowing how it's made and
- 1:11where it comes from, like probably eighth grade science, it probably wasn't paying
- 1:15attention. You're you're the pro when it comes to mitigating problems caused by rain,
- 1:21specifically for your house. And let's talk about what rain does tier does
- 1:26t your home, and then reasons why we want to you know, it's
- 1:30we're combating mother nature on a number of different fronts, but rain is a
- 1:34very important one. That moisture is an important one to keep away as far
- 1:38away from your house as possible, isn't it. It very much is,
- 1:42and that's where our you know, gutter shut our gutters really come into play.
- 1:45It's it's been really fun. We've were growing and we're so busy that
- 1:49we've added a bunch of new sales reps. And one of the things that
- 1:53we make them do is go back out to past customers, our past customers,
- 1:59which is really easy because I mean from here to Old Clarita Lacrosse,
- 2:02all of Madison, We've got over twelve thousand customers, so it's not difficult.
- 2:07But one thing that we won't like them to do is go back to
- 2:09old customers' houses and ask them how everything's going, see if they need anything
- 2:15tightened up, anything sealed up, any service work. But you know,
- 2:19it really does a couple things because when when our sales guys are out giving
- 2:23estimates, you know, I want them to understand that they are selling the
- 2:28best products, backed up by the best company and the best technicians on the
- 2:31market. And what a better way to back that up for them by hearing
- 2:36it from our customers. And it's been a constant theme over the past few
- 2:39weeks, Like you know, so and so has their had their gutter shutter
- 2:44since twenty twenty one, haven't touched it, loved it. So and so
- 2:47has had our gutters for years, don't even think about them anymore. So
- 2:53it does a couple of things, right, We get back to homeowners homes
- 2:54and sometimes you know what, they have a little maintenance that needs to be
- 2:59done, not a problem, calling a maintenance ticket. We get on top
- 3:01of it. But it also lets the reps know that they are selling the
- 3:06best stuff by the backed up by the best company. So it's been really
- 3:09fun. And you know something else that I've been talking about on this show
- 3:13is is our restore program. You know, one would call it a repair,
- 3:16but we like to call it a restore for roofing because we don't just
- 3:21want to come out and, you know, take some blackjack or some cock
- 3:25and fix a leak. Like we want to really find the root cause of
- 3:30it and fix it properly, because we run into so many roofs that have
- 3:35great shingles on them. Shingles are fine, but the little details. I
- 3:38always talk about the details, the details weren't done properly, so they get
- 3:42leaks. Rather than tear that entire roof off throw it in the landfill,
- 3:46we can restore now. Because we've been talking about this Sean and we've been
- 3:51advertising it, it's kind of led to another evolution. And when we advertise
- 4:00is that we take care of restores and or repairs. People call us when
- 4:04it's raining and their roofs are leaking because they want it fixed. So something
- 4:10else that we're working on and it's it's almost completely put together. We can't
- 4:14just throw it out there and do it but an emergency response team because I
- 4:17can tell you that I've had this happen in a home that I owned before.
- 4:23When it's raining and your roof is leaking. It's a very helpless feeling
- 4:29because if you think about it, if your roof is leaking and you're seeing
- 4:32it come through your ceiling inside the house, what's happening in the attic?
- 4:39Right? Where's it coming from a lot of times we think a leak is
- 4:42coming from once, well, I've got a spot on my ceiling, the
- 4:45leak must be coming directly from above it. Ninety nine point nine percent of
- 4:48the time that's not the case because just like our gutters surface tension. Water
- 4:54works with surface tensions, So a leak could happen ten ten feet up the
- 4:58roof. It could be hit a rafter and running down that rafter and dripping
- 5:02off a a nail. And the thing is is, by the time you
- 5:05see it in the home, it's leaked enough up in the attic to soak
- 5:10through your insulation, to soak through your drywall to then get into the home.
- 5:15So we are putting together and it's almost complete, but an emergency response
- 5:19team, so we're getting a rain or we've just had a big rain and
- 5:24you're seeing a leak, we will have a team you can call. I
- 5:29don't have the exact detail, So I don't want to just be like it's
- 5:30twenty four to seven seven, you know, I don't think that's probably going
- 5:35to be the case. We'll see what happens, but we want to be
- 5:39able to help people when they have a leak, come out, identify the
- 5:42leak, identify where it's coming from, do a quick fix. So we
- 5:46will still sign that homeowner up for an estimate for a restore so we can
- 5:51get out and do a roof inspection and fix it properly. But in the
- 5:56meantime, we can stop the leak from causing any more damage before we can
- 6:00get out there and fix it more permanently. So we've had people calling crying
- 6:08and there's nothing we can do at that time. And it's kind of a
- 6:12helpless feeling. When a mother is crying on the phone because water is leaking
- 6:16into her kid's bedroom and we can't get there for two weeks. Well that
- 6:21doesn't do anybody any good, you know. So anyway, I kind of
- 6:27wanted to come on the show and talk about it because it's something that we're
- 6:29going to be putting together and something that we're going to have available to help
- 6:32people in a more immediate response, a little roof rescue that is it's a
- 6:38great it's a great opportunity. And as you guys work on getting that out
- 6:43there to more folks, you think about the storms that we've had, and
- 6:46of course there's more on the way. One of the things folks can do
- 6:48today is every one of those people that had that leaky roof had that issue.
- 6:53There was a day where it rained and it didn't leak, but the
- 6:56problem was there. The best thing for you to do is be preventative.
- 6:59Call the folks our film services. Call them today if you've got questions,
- 7:01have them out for that free roof inspection. Make sure you're not put in
- 7:04that position to have to have the roof rescue out there to solve the issue.
- 7:10Get them out there today before it becomes a problem. All I got
- 7:13to just pick up phone, get McCall six so eight five three five forty
- 7:15three forty three. That's five three five four three four three. The website
- 7:19Larsenhome Services dot com. That's l A R. S o N Home Services
- 7:25dot com. And Andrew, as we talk about roof restore, I know,
- 7:28with not just the rain but the wind as well, some folks may
- 7:31have questions about the condition of their shingles and other issues. You guys can
- 7:35help out there, can't you. We can. I mean that that's I
- 7:40mean, over over the years doing this show, I mean, the company's
- 7:44really evolved. You know. We've always had great, a great gutter system
- 7:47and we've been doing that for years and we still do and we do it
- 7:50every single day from here to Green Bay, Milwaukee, Lacrosse, Rochester.
- 7:56We put up a lot of gutter. Yeah, but we do more roofing
- 8:01than anything now, and we really wanted to. I mean, there's a
- 8:05lot of roofing companies and we want to differentiate ourselves with our restore program and
- 8:11now with a more of a rapid response team for leaks because there's just there's
- 8:16not a lot of companies that do that. Yeah, and I mean we
- 8:20see it. One of my reps was just at a house the other day
- 8:22and he sent me the video that he took. He did a video inspection
- 8:26on the roof to show the homeowner and they had just had another very reputable
- 8:28contractor over to the home and said the roof is shot needs to be replaced.
- 8:33I was like twenty seven thousand dollars and Sean. There was absolutely nothing
- 8:37wrong with the roof. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the roof. The
- 8:41only thing that was wrong with the roof was that the chimney was not flashed
- 8:45properly, so water was hitting the back of the chimney, running down inside
- 8:50the attic, creating a spot on the roof. Homeowner is convinced that the
- 8:52roof needed to be replaced. Our best guestimate that roof was less than ten
- 8:58years old. That roof has twenty years left on it most likely, and
- 9:03we were able to let them spend a fraction of that and get that roof,
- 9:09get that chimney reflash, So bringing that thing back to its glory.
- 9:15I mean that that's a good feeling to be able to save people a ton
- 9:20of money, not throw more shingles in a landfill unnecessarily. And it's just
- 9:26it's peace of mind for me, it's peace of mind for the homeowner.
- 9:28So just being able to help people and not say, oh no, you
- 9:33need to replace it. Let's just tear them off and throw it away.
- 9:35That's just not that's not the approach that we want to take. And I
- 9:39mean hopefully it comes back to us in the end. I mean Hopefully when
- 9:43it's time for that roof to be replaced, they remember and call us and
- 9:46have us replace that roof. If not, oh well, but we still
- 9:50kept the shingles out of the landfill. We still saved this homeowner. We
- 9:54saved them twenty four thousand dollars, which is substantial. So I think they
- 10:01were they were really happy. So that's that's what we're trying to do.
- 10:05We've really, really, really we were always a gutter company, right,
- 10:09great gutter companies sell the best maintenance free gutter system on the market. We're
- 10:13a great insulation company. We try to do things right. We won't just
- 10:16blow insulation up in an attic. It's a whole home evaluation and let you
- 10:20know exactly what needs to done to be done to make your home more energy
- 10:24efficient and make it more comfortable and when it comes to But but we've really
- 10:28truly become a large roofing company and we just want to do things a little
- 10:33bit different and a little better. So telling people the best products, giving
- 10:37them more options, not just saying here's our shingles, please pick a color.
- 10:39No, we've got different types of shingles from f Wave. We love
- 10:43to sell class for impact rated shingles because when we get some hail, they're
- 10:48not going to get damaged and we can keep going. It saves people money
- 10:52on insurance. I don't know, Sean, I can just talk about friend
- 10:58we're getting, we're getting. But it is very amazing as you talk about
- 11:01the different options for folks, and that's one of the great things. As
- 11:05I've mentioned, you guys did the roof at the Preble household a number of
- 11:07years ago. It still looks brand new, it still looks fantastic. One
- 11:11of the great things is having those different options, having that conversation about what
- 11:16are you looking for? Are you looking you know, how do you want
- 11:18your house to look, do you want to do the architectural do you want
- 11:20to have a text? All those great things, and then not only not
- 11:24only does it look great, but phenomenal and a very detail. That was
- 11:28the other thing, and I don't know that it gets mentioned enough, and
- 11:31it seems and maybe to some like why does that matter? A very detailed
- 11:35estimate and then a very detailed as we've talked about on the show, pictures
- 11:41and notes and everything that went into it. So if you were to sell
- 11:45your home or if you ever have questions. There's a ton of great information
- 11:48that's given to you as a homeowner. As I mentioned, you pointed out
- 11:50it's now on a us B. This was long enough ago that it was
- 11:54back on this whole thing called printed paper. Yes exactly, We've still got
- 12:00it. We keep it in the in the file league cabinet with other important
- 12:03papers of the house. And that's one of the fantastic things about working with
- 12:05Andrew and the team at Larsen Home Services. They give you not only a
- 12:09fantastic group, not only the best gutters out there, not only can they
- 12:13restore, and not only can they rescue your roof, they also give you
- 12:16a commitment and they give you all that information. That education today is to
- 12:20day to pick up phone. Give Andrew and the team at Larsen Home Service
- 12:22as a call their telephone number six so eight five three five forty three forty
- 12:26three. That's five three, five four three four to three for Larsen Home
- 12:31Services. If you haven't had your roof inspected recently, or if you've got
- 12:35questions about your gutters and down spouts, make sure you get them out six
- 12:37oh eight five three five forty three forty three. That's five three five four
- 12:41three four three, Andrew, I know you guys are going to be super
- 12:45busy these next few days. Look forward to seeing you out and around town.
- 12:48And you take care of my friend. Hey, real quick, Well,

- 13:03don't hear it anymore. And I was like, Okay, we've got to
- 13:05start doing the show again. I really appreciate everybody listening to it. It's
- 13:07fun to do, and I wanted to expand it a little bit more.
