[upbeat rock music] All right on, right on.
• 0:18
Full Spectrum Cycling, show number 56. Happy birthday, Greg. That's- [laughs] Not my birthday today. It's my, my birthday age show though. Yeah. It's just a few months away. Coming up...
• 0:30
Well, then, well, then next week- 'Cause I believe-... will be... Th- this is a belated one. Next week will be the, uh- The official... in a- in advance of the next up to 57 one. Oh. That's not till July, though.
• 0:41
In the USA. Let's see. US. That's April, May, June, July. It's almost four months. That's a third of a year. There you go. Think the dang old pandemic will be done by then? Mm-mm. Negative. Nope.
• 0:53
Phase one- Phase, yeah... complete. That'll be the second wave coming about that time. 1.5. Yep. Yep. Called it here, folks. So that's, uh- Put a pin in that...
• 1:03
that's still before the Tour de France is gonna take place this year- Right... if indeed it takes place this particular year. Postponed until the end of August- August, yeah... through the 20th of September or whatever.
• 1:15
Yep, yep. If indeed we're not into wave two or three. Which could be really devastating as far as both heat in France at that time of year can be brutally humid.
• 1:26
Um, so I mean, you could get a double whammy of still having a few corona potential issues out there and,
• 1:33
you know, he- heat and humidity causing things like heatstroke for guys that are used to riding, you know, eight hours a day plus. Right. Yeah. I mean, in the mountains hopefully it'd still be semi-cool. Yeah.
• 1:42
I don't know. But I... So one of the reasons why, obviously, why they canceled it is they have half a million people a day lining the streets to watch that race. [laughs] Mm-hmm. Oh, hell yeah. So, you know, I mean...
• 1:55
And the devil- How, how, how would you marshal, "Don't go and- Right... hang out on the side of the road." You got the guy on... Right.
• 2:01
You got the guy in the devil costume chasing and, and huffing and puffing and patting the riders on the back. Yeah, that, that's not gonna work. No. And getting the big air over- Over the top of them. Yeah.
• 2:10
[laughs] Yeah, that's happened a bunch of times now. I think the first time was... That'd be 10 years ago, I bet. I'm still damn impressed. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah, that's, that's serious.
• 2:18
You're catching some serious air there when you're, you know- The Peloton jump. Mm-hmm. Mm. Tony brought a little, um, surprise for us today. Surprise. All right. Yeah. Trader Joe's Kentucky Bourbon Straight Whiskey.
• 2:32
Oh, yes. Don't, don't let the cheap price fool you. No, I... Actually, y- it was in some publication as being one of the best at the price, believe it or not. A couple of years ago- Yeah... when we first got it...
• 2:44
it was in my, it was in my crosshairs a few days ago when I [laughs] was there on a, on a cheap wine mission. Do you need it or no? [coughs] I'm like- [laughs] I'm like, "It can't be. It can't be."
• 2:55
Oh, it does warm the tummy, though. Yeah. It's nice. It, it- Yeah... for the money, I'm telling you, it's, it's, uh... You know, it, it's not bad at all. All I can say is it, it ain't no Old Crow. No.
• 3:05
And thank God for that. [laughs] Yeah, no kidding. No, a couple of cubes- I've been, I've-... it's a great late night drink. Ah, there you go. Just a couple of cubes. Couple cubes. Let it melt a little bit. Okay.
• 3:12
A splash of water if you're in a hurry. It's delicious. I am not always in a hurry when- I'm not either, especially-... whiskey becomes- [laughs]... late at night whiskey...
• 3:20
no, unless you watch the, uh, Nick- That's what albums are for... the Nick Offerman, uh, Yule Log- [laughs]... where he's, he's just sitting there next to a fireplace looking at and occasionally drinking. Did I...
• 3:32
Could... I don't think I got... Either I looked away or he had, did hadn't actually drank it in the 45 minutes I watched that. [laughs] Yep. It's, it's, it's somewhere around 10 hours long, I believe. Yeah. Exactly.
• 3:41
Or something like that. It's beautiful holiday tradition. How do we get that on the old, uh... Oh, it's, yeah, hollow, ha- hollow, holiday time. Yes. Speaking of holidays, uh, just had one there for the Catholic types.
• 3:52
Ha- happy Easter. Easter. Oh. Easter just happened. Mm-hmm. What the heck? I didn't even hardly notice it there. Yeah. Uh, the only thing that traditionally was semi-consistent
• 4:06
was that I happened to notice that the mass that I normally would end up going to with my mom was being televised [laughs] at that same time.
• 4:14
So I was able to get her on the phone and I'm just like, or, "Hey, hey, turn on Channel 12." Did you Zoom her so you could see it? No. No, no, not Zoom. Zoom. No, no. We just have to, "Hey, it's turned on."
• 4:23
Oh, this was actually the actual place and- Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it worked out. I mean, I was like, "Okay, that's a semi-holding one tether of the, you know, tradition of a holiday." Sure, sure. Pious graduate.
• 4:36
Yeah, man. How about all the wacka- Those, those things run deep. [laughs] The, the wackadoodles down in, uh, down south there trying to get the old congregations together. Do you think that's a good idea? Hallelujah.
• 4:47
Well, the dude died. Hell, no. Yeah. Well, yeah. The one guy who was, "Oh, no, the God's gonna save me," well, uh, He didn't save him. Well, He probably did.
• 4:53
He probably wanted him quicker up there in the old dang heaven. Maybe. He said, "Man, that guy's such a good guy, I'm taking him right now." He'll become a martyr. "And by the way, shut the hell up, dude."
• 5:02
[laughs] Oh, boy. Yeah. But, you know- If I were-... let's talk about something besides the coronavirus 'cause I'm getting sick from it. Yeah. Well, the other holiday, uh, did you receive the email from...
• 5:15
Oh, yeah, you did, uh, from the River West 24- Yeah... on the ever evolving- The People's Holiday... People's Holiday. And, you know, they, they make some very good points. Mm-hmm.
• 5:26
Um, I mean, mid-July this thing, or end of July, this could still be- Yeah... in a, in a situation where you're not gonna wanna be touching someone's manifest. Yeah. Yeah, I don't wanna touch your manifest ever. Yeah.
• 5:37
Yeah, I know. I- [laughs]... you know, I usually store it in my jack strap. Yeah. Or your, it's in your mouth for the next half a lap and- Yeah. It, it can be. Yeah. Yeah. It can be anywhere.
• 5:45
It's in your sweaty, you know, pit- Pocket. Yeah... pocket. Yeah. There's- Yeah... yeah, nothing, yeah. That said, I don't know that he- There's nothing sanitary about that race. [laughs] Nah.
• 5:54
It's a good 90 degree, 95 degree day or- Yeah... you're about as human as you can get on those days. But it, and it's so fluid, the whole situation. Mm-hmm.
• 6:04
So it's, it, and, you know, it's a good team getting together brainstorming that, so. I, I'm gonna, I'm gonna blame all this right now. Oh. [laughs] I'm going all the way back to the full coronavirus,
• 6:17
and I hope they're gonna listen to this podcast 'cause I'm, I'm blaming this on Sean and Coby for trying to win this year's River West 24. [laughs] Oh. It's all starting because of them. He- Yeah...
• 6:27
Coby is gonna have, uh, be deckled with cameras and things. Right. You know he ain't gonna win no damn race- Well, he-... with no cameras on your bike... I, you know. We, uh- So it's probably their fault...
• 6:36
so I've been moseying around the neighborhood just to get out of the shop and do some riding every day, and I've seen him two out of the last four days out there riding around with his- Cameras...
• 6:46
yeah, with different versions, just testing things out with the big old stick in front, and he's got the thing on top of the helmet doing the 360 deal, and he had- Some, some dude doing wheelies all, it wasn't- [laughs]
• 6:57
Had a crazy wheelie guy. I saw a video of that guy, yep, yep. I haven't caught up with the videos yet. Sp- speaking of crazy guys in River West, have you seen the six-foot pole man? Yes, yes. No.
• 7:05
He is walking around the neighborhood. Penis has gone from the park across the street though. Uh, penis is traveling. Oh, a traveling penis. Yeah, he was, or it was, I guess it would be he- Detachable...
• 7:14
was, was detachable penis, was- [laughs] Found it lying on a-... on a bridge... blanket. [laughs] It was on the bridge looking over the Hank Aaron Trail the other day. Oh, okay.
• 7:22
A friend of mine's wife took a picture of it. All right then. Apparently it has its own account on, not Twitter, but something. Hm. Anyway, yeah. A social media platform. Right, right. Reddit. Of which there are many.
• 7:34
Reddit. Reddit? Might be on a Reddit. Hell's a Reddit? Eh, people use it, so yeah. Reddit. But- Damn near killed it. Yeah. But yeah- [laughs]...
• 7:42
I guess this guy's walking around with a, with a series of poles around his waist- Mm-hmm... that are six foot long, and then he has a shirt on that says six feet away, and he's, he's becoming quite the- Yeah.
• 7:54
Oh, okay... it's the talk of River West right now. Are they like pool noodles, or...? No, these are like- Yeah... poles, like walking poles.
• 7:58
He, so he looks like you're walking, uh, the old '70s game with the marbles and the, all those little sticks. Oh, yeah. What is that? And you, you pulled out the sticks, and you, if you- Yeah...
• 8:07
the one that dumped all the damn marbles- The marbles down Like Pixy Sticks or whatever, what do they call that? What is that called? Some dang old [laughs]... Oh, shit. Um. Okay, by show's end, this will be solved. Yes.
• 8:17
Yeah. Yes. It'll pop in. It's like one of those things, 2:00 in the morning- TK- Boom... phone, you, you can do it. I'm just trying to remember- It'll come in... it. I'm trying to self- Yeah, I'm trying to do too.
• 8:24
It's- Self... It's googled... not Swizzles. It's something. It's not Swizzles. It's not Pixy Sticks. It's not Swizzles. Tw- Twiddly Sticks, or Twiddly Fiddly Sticks, or Twiddly Fiddly S- Something in there. Anyway.
• 8:34
Somewhere in there. By cra- By show's end. Any listeners, if you know this, please chime in. Yeah. And shame. Shame. Actually threw a- Shame us for not knowing our '70s trivia...
• 8:41
actually threw a thing up on Fatbike.com today that we're taping at 7:00 PM Central. I, hopefully a person or two will call in. If you, if you don't hear anybody this week, be the, be that person next week- Yeah...
• 8:51
and call in and say, "Hey." Be somebody. Be somebody. Talk, talk to us. He could've been, you know, like Tim last week. That was- Yeah, that was great... dang old good show right there. And he brought beer.
• 9:01
And he brought beer. Dang it. [bell ringing] It was a pretty short hill this week. Well, it's a pretty short [laughs] hill. Pretty short hill this week. We got right up it.
• 9:12
You mentioned beer, and I had to go to the top of the hill right off the bat. Oh. Well, you have to do, have something to chase- Right, yeah, for sure... the Trader Joe's. Right.
• 9:19
Can't just have a glass- Let's plug and see... of water sitting nearby. Um, today's beer on the old, uh, show beer list is Toppling Goliath's Fire, Skulls, and Money. [laughs] I love the name. Yeah. Uh, obviously.
• 9:33
It's got that, it's got that zip on 'em. An, it's India pale ale. Um, I, one of our local tap rooms, The Brass Tap out there Greenfield Way, had, uh, 25%- [whistles]...
• 9:43
off growlers today, so it seemed like a good day to go stock up on TG beer. And, uh, this is a tasty one. Yeah. This is incredible. It's big as, uh, Tim would s- It's a big beer, as Tim would say.
• 9:55
T- Tim was very funny about his big beer. It's a big- There's no such thing as a good session IPA. [laughs] No, this is big. This is a 7.2- Whoa... on your ABV scale. Yeah, that's, that's a big beer.
• 10:03
It's, um, it's, uh, also only 50 on the IBUs- Hm... scale though. Hm. Which, uh, you know, it doesn't really have a super bitter finish, which is nice. Yeah.
• 10:15
It's inspired by a trip to the West Coast, designed to capture the wild spirit of adventure, and brewed to be enjoyed with friends. Hm. It's a rich IPA for those with wanderlust in their heart and fire in their eyes.
• 10:26
S- it's Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson hops. Join it on a journey to the bottom of your glass. [laughs] Oh, my God. I, you, you guys- Who's writing this [laughs] shit?
• 10:36
Uh, I don't know, but whoever does their artwork is the kickass- Mm-hmm... beer artwork person because the label for this thing is, even though it's in a growler, you know, I went to the website and, hey, that's great.
• 10:46
Um, Toppling Goliath is in Decorah, Iowa, which we may have mentioned in the past. Mm-hmm. Uh, would be probably the best mountain biking in the Midwest. And having a- And right now, the best brewery.
• 10:58
[laughs] And having a brewer there that I think on, I don't know if it was Beer Advocate or the other one, Untapped, they would have, like, three of the top 10 beers. And they're not big.
• 11:09
I mean- They're, they're big, big beers, but not a big brewery. Right, right. Big enough to come over here in Milwaukee, though, and give us their fine wares. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
• 11:17
Hey, that Decorah's gonna make the news here on, uh, on Full Spectrum Cycling twice today.
• 11:22
You, uh, Surly fans out there may wanna go over to the Surly website and check out one of the Humanoids of Surly articles, who is our very own Spinner Ryerson. Ah, Spinner. It is a great story on Spinner.
• 11:36
Uh, he does a really good job of talking about his Surlys and why he likes them and- I must have missed that 'cause I got the email. It's, it's new-ish. I didn't put two and two together- It was on, uh-...
• 11:45
that it was Spinner... Gomez must have put it up on Fatbike.com today. Right.
• 11:48
'Cause I immediately saw the great photo I took of Spinner [laughs] in the studio when we got the, uh, ice cream truck first introduced, and he's in full Viking, well, headgear at least. Yeah. And, uh, yeah.
• 12:01
It's hard to... There was a while there where it was hard to recognize him without Some of the regalia Yeah. Yeah And like, but he'd re- he'd be like, "Oh yeah, blah, blah, blah" and it would take about
• 12:13
two or three sentences. I'm like, "Ah, he's da, da, da, da, da, da, da." Well, it's been- There we go. [laughs] Hey, uh, Greg, I happened to notice there appears to be a Chumba missing from the wall. Chumba missing.
• 12:21
Actually, there's, uh, gonna be another one missing. Oh yeah? Well, the one that's missing is Mike's. Mm. The one that's going away is the medium that's sitting right there. That one. I just kept it up there for effect.
• 12:31
It's actually sold. I should put a sticker on it. Yeah. That's going to New York somewhere. New York. New York City. Upstate New York. Yeah. Oh. In the C- in the corona-free zone up there. Mean streets of Albany.
• 12:43
It's gonna recline here a little longer just, uh, 'cause of the craziness that's going on. Right. Right. But, uh, yeah, New York, hey. I don't know, that's, that's kind of a crazy area there. Epicenter. Oh, yeah. Yep.
• 12:56
So 414 yesterday. Yeah, happy 414. Or three days ago. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, very subdued. 414 would be our area code here in Milwaukee, for those of you unfamiliar with the way the three-digit area code thing works.
• 13:09
Couple a years ago they started this here 414 Day thing, and it's getting kinda big. Yeah. Not this year. I, well, I looked, there was a big thing on, uh, 88.9 with local bands for eight hours or something. Yeah?
• 13:22
There was some pretty good stuff on there. Yeah, yeah. Milwaukee Record did a little telethon-type thing. Um- Lakefront Brewery gave free six-packs to anyone in the medical field.
• 13:32
Somebody streamed, I think, that whole eight hours from down there. Th- yeah, it was a swarm... There was a swarm- Swarma... a swarm event Swarma, I don't even know what that is... something like that. Swarma? Swarm.
• 13:40
Schwarma? Swarm? It's like, it, it was an offshoot of Foursquare and- Oh... social- Shwar Ah... social gathering application, so they definitely have to change their [laughs] approach to- Sw- swarm... Swarma.
• 13:56
My, uh- It's really like a virus... my, my video online watching has been pretty much only watching Kim in the morning, Kim West- Okay. [laughs]... on Facebook Live. Excuse me. [laughs] Oh, yeah. Hey, Kim's a dude. Damn.
• 14:08
Kim's a dude, man. [laughs] But it's n- it's not as, it's not as flaky as it sounds. Uh, Kim i- Kim is a- No, I caught a little bit today... yeah, he's an old-time Iowa racer who was pretty darn good in his day, and, uh,
• 14:21
it, he, he, he kinda goes back and forth between regaling you with old cycling stories and, uh, rants about various things, which can get pretty fun. [laughs] Yeah. Yeah. For sure.
• 14:31
If you get a chance, Kim West Radio Cycling Show, uh, Kim West Facebook, blah, blah, blah. Yeah.
• 14:37
[laughs] Um, he's, he's a retired guy and is a barista at Zanzibar in Des Moines, but I think his whole thing for doing this, there's two things.
• 14:46
He had a concussion, and it's helping him with his recovery, and he's trying to help the other baristas who are less fortunate than he, um, get some income during the- Pandemic, demic, demic... pandemic.
• 14:59
Hey, speaking of pandemics, let's listen to a public service announcement- Let's see... from our very own Blueberry podcast hosting service. COVID-19, better known as coronavirus, has spread throughout the world.
• 15:11
There are a few ways to help lower the spread of this respiratory disease.
• 15:15
Wash your hands, avoid touching your face, including mouth, nose, and eyes, cover your coughs and sneezes, monitor your symptoms and consult with your doctor, stay at home and away from other sick people except for medical care, clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces.
• 15:33
For more information, please visit cdc.gov/covid19. Thank you. I think we played that about a month ago, and it really, the, the recommendations haven't really changed. No. Cool. Not really. COVID-19.
• 15:49
It's over counter now. Who knows? COVID-19. We can't dance together. Ah, ooh. Have you noticed all the s- the signs, uh, closed beach, closed park, all the- Yeah... all the state parks are closed. Yeah.
• 15:59
Plus, I've seen a bunch of county stuff closed now too. I know, and, and- I just looked this morning... a, a right-wing person I know was like, "Oh, Evers, you're such a dick for closing these."
• 16:08
It's like, he didn't do it because of that. He, he did it because there's been, like, mass vandalism, and you, people are being... They waived the fees to the parks, and suddenly everyone that's in the park is a dick.
• 16:19
Yeah. You can't give people nothing for free- Right... 'cause they don't respect it. 'Cause they're, they don't respect it. They're gonna be jerks. You know, graffiti and, you know, destruction. It's like, come on.
• 16:29
And I saw the picture of the parking lot at Devil's Lake, and there, the cars were packed door handle to door handle. That's crazy. There's no social distancing going on there. No.
• 16:38
And there's no respect for the fact that there aren't any workers. Right. People aren't cleaning up after themselves. Uh- Yeah, that's the other thing. They're po- Yeah... they're littering everywhere. It's like, what?
• 16:47
They're a bunch of jackasses. Yeah. Yeah, even, uh, At- Clearly they don't drink Dale's... Atwater, for God's sakes. Atwater. Come on. Yep. The beach part at least. Oh, closed down? Yeah.
• 16:57
What's Lo- what's Lloyd gonna do? Not go down the stairs. I guess. [laughs] He can't go down there and do the, the morning ritual at the lakefront. Yep. Got a sunrise in there this morning, and- I saw that.
• 17:09
Nice, nice picture... yeah, there was a good handful of... It was a good 15 people or something like that. Really? It had, like, a weird, like, that Key West looking at a sunset vibe, like what are you guys doing?
• 17:19
Just looking at the sun setting? What the hell? Sun rising? Sun rising. Sun setting. It's in the eye. Sun, sun rising. In the opposite side. Right. Yeah, there's- Which is like, "Hey, I'm just looking at the air."
• 17:29
The only place- And hoping there's gonna be-... in Wisconsin you can get a westerly view is up there in Dorco. Yeah. Or the, uh, um, uh, the place in, uh, near Horrible, Mount Horrible.
• 17:39
They, they have that tower on the top. Oh, on Lake Michigan. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, no, no. Okay. [laughs] Oh, yeah. Yeah, in Blue Mounds Park? Yes, that was it. That's the place. Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
• 17:50
Right on some good mountain biking over that way. That's on your way to Decorah, folks, if you're heading down, uh, 51 going west from Madison. Mm-hmm.
• 17:57
Mount Horrib's got Grumpy Troll, which is also a nice stop for a beer. And they got the, uh- And a cool bar diner right across the street from Grumpy Troll as well Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 18:06
Which should be open- What's the, uh-... sometime hopefully... what's the store there? Duluth Trading Company, they got one in Mount Horrible. Oh, yeah, that's their, that's the, uh, mothership.
• 18:12
It's like where like it- Was one of the- Fortunately... one of the first ones, yeah Yeah. Oh, nice... if it wasn't the first factory store. Oh. Superior might've been, possibly. Yeah, yeah. Or Duluth maybe, by cracky.
• 18:24
[laughs] Oh, crazy talk. Who's making this stuff up? I d- I don't even know. Forest, trees. I don't know what the hell's going on here. Hmm. Yeah, so that's, uh, that's what's going on with that stuff.
• 18:37
Coming up, uh, Monday, 4/20 day. 4/20, y'all. I, I would've been- 4/2020. I got my, I got my drug rug on already. Ooh, 4/2020. Get a, get a, get a picture of, uh, JK's drug rug there.
• 18:49
I should get a picture of that somehow. The thing is, every day this month is 4/20. True, that- You're right... so- It, it... Ooh, that's deep, man. Man, that's deep. So it's 4/20, uh, during this period.
• 19:02
Every day is 4/20. 4/2020. What, what about when you do 'em three times in one day? Oh. That's just what it is. 4:20, it's 4:20. It's just- Do you try to 4/20 at 4:20 and 4:20 on that day? Sure. Why not?
• 19:14
Is 4/20 a verb now? I, it should be. Yeah, you can, you can- I'm gonna go 4/20 right after the show... yeah, you can shoehorn it in [laughs] where... Yeah. But it wouldn't even be, like, sly, you know?
• 19:27
[laughs] It's not that sly. Exactly. Hey, everyone. It was. Here's something maybe- But there's some good stuff on that day- Yeah... to do. Well, there would've been- Yeah... a lot more good stuff.
• 19:37
Yeah, this way, I mean, you end up wanting to just be sequestered to your house. [laughs] Everybody's gotta step outside on their porch and do the 4/20 f- on, at 4:20 PM- Oh, sure... 4:20.
• 19:48
Just spin up a big old chonger and [imitates smoking]. I have no idea what you people are talking about. I got something for you. Bike shops, folks. Bike shops. Bike shops in your neighborhood. Support them.
• 20:00
They're in your neighborhood. Here's something, uh- Yeah... I was talking to my Surly rep today about, and probably made some pretty good sense.
• 20:07
Do you need parts so you can get right with your shit and get your shit out and go riding?
• 20:12
A lot of your bike shops will be able to, uh, help you out over the phone, make some recommendations, take your money, have that shit sent right to your house. That is incredible. Need some tires? But- Need some pedals?
• 20:23
Need some grips? I, um- Do you need a new, uh, saddlebag or handlebar bag or a frame bag? I- You may... I'm gonna bring back something that we've talked about a few times, and I know it's a sore spot for some of us. Oh.
• 20:39
Mainly me. [laughs] And if I am paraphrasing myself. Yes. I... If you don't hurry up, like, right now, right now, it's almost over, and buy your Baby Maker- [laughs]...
• 20:53
you're not gonna, you're gonna lose out on your chance to own the Baby Maker. I, I, like, if it was, if they would send for testing, I would ride it.
• 21:01
Well, I'm bringing back this 'cause it's really funny 'cause they had this video. Now what they're doing is they're posting people's videos of test riding them,
• 21:08
and they've got a very short woman who comes, and she's all excited. She's carrying her Baby Maker on her shoulder- Okay, right there, all the words you just said there- I know...
• 21:17
was, in saying, is- So then they show her riding this thing, and clearly they don't have a proper fit person because she is fully extended her leg. The bike frame is way too big for her,
• 21:29
and I, so I comment, and one lady who, besides agreeing with me is it being the worst bike name ever, says, "This is why I wanna shop at my local bike store, my local bike shop, because I wanna be fitted for a bike."
• 21:44
And I responded to her post very nicely, "Support your local bike shop. That's what they're there for." And she said, "They're not open." I'm like, "Well, in Wisconsin, we are an essential business." And- Where was she?
• 21:56
Did she say where she was from? She did not say where she was from. That's sad. I was, uh, on my way to get the beer at the old Brass Tap there.
• 22:03
Went through the car wash to Welke Service Station up there- [sings] Went through the car wash... on 83rd and, uh, Layton. Roller skate. Man. Uh, which is, which is right near one of the Erics in the area. Mm-hmm.
• 22:13
If you're not from the Midwest, probably don't know that Erics is one of the bigger shops here now. It's 30 locations or whatever. Yep.
• 22:19
There was a couple people out in the parking lot rolling around, doing some test riding. Hmm. So people are still able to somehow make it work, and, you know, you can come by Everyday Cycles here.
• 22:30
We'll let you in the door if we know you. Yeah, yeah. Like you, or you, you know, you don't look like you're foaming at the mouth or anything. Right. Zombie. But can only be one person in the shop at a time, basically.
• 22:39
Right. Maybe two, considering there's two in here right now. Right. Well, two and a half. Yeah.
• 22:44
[laughs] You know, it, it, and, and again, this is, you know, I, I noticed another post on Facebook saying, "My God, the Oakley Trail is super packed full of people, and no one's moving out of the way."
• 22:54
My response was, "This is the perfect time to ride in the streets or in alleys." Oh, yeah. Urban assault time. 10-4. Urban assault time, man. 10-4 to that. It is time to go have fun. Get off the bike trails- Yeah...
• 23:02
and explore Milwaukee. Exactly. Or wherever you happen to be listening to this wonderful podcast at. Yeah, and, and, and the vehicular- It's negligible... flow is- It's fantastic...
• 23:10
yeah, has been thinned out so much- Mm-hmm... right now, and- You know, it's just fun to adventure. Yeah, just in general, but- Almost as much fun as drinking whiskey I think I rode four different bikes this week.
• 23:22
Trying to decide which of the o- orange-gripped bikes I may wanna keep in my stable and which I should probably [laughs] send down the road.
• 23:28
[laughs] Problem is, I think I'm gonna put orange grips on that Lowside over there- No, you wouldn't do that... and ride that one around [laughs] for a while. Orange grips. Hey, everybody, I got a- It's like whip-...
• 23:38
I got a, I got a medium black Lowside. They're kinda hard to come by, but there's one sitting right here. Brand new? Brand spanking new.
• 23:43
All right, the last five minutes just sounds like erotic bike fiction that you guys wrote out. [laughs] You know? Just have memorized that time. [laughs] EB F. It's, uh, erotic bike fiction. The Lowside is a very fun...
• 23:56
You can't ride that bike without smiling. It, it will give you a serious grin. Kinda like why it's, it's perfectly up Mike's alley 'cause it's a, it's a single speed. Well, it- Yeah... it's got a really wide bar.
• 24:07
You just feel goofy on it. I love it. Love those low- It's like I'm riding my bike to go have a beer... I love those, uh, sunrise bars. Those are- Yeah, those are cool, especially with that, uh, that super great, uh,
• 24:19
sturdy You know, bag, uh, sturdy ball buster made for it Ball buster, uh, bar pad Uh, bar, bar pad. Bar pad. Thank you. Thank you. That's the Dave Lunz, Please Buy Me Green right there. [laughs] That is, man.
• 24:31
I can't believe he hasn't already purchased it, or has he and you just have two? Uh, no, I- Are you taking- I don't know that he has any bar... He probably does on one of his SE- He's got a-...
• 24:39
versions of- Are you trying to stimulate my stimulated, my stimulated- Stimulator... stimulus? Your stimulus is stimulating your bike purchasing. My, my stimulus is... I'm looking at my stimulus over there?
• 24:49
[laughs] So have we all received our stimuli? I have been stimulated. I have been stimulated. I have got stimulated my own self.
• 24:56
Plus, my credit union was nice enough to offer a very favorable zero interest rate on a loan, so I said, "Hey, give me as much as you, uh, can." That's a good... I should check with my credit union.
• 25:05
Don't even have to start paying it until August. Wow. At that point it's a minor 1.9%, so- Whew... you know, pretty much it's free money for 39 months if I decide to pay it off over time. There you go.
• 25:19
Means I can keep the shop open for another month. Yay. Yay. Woo-hoo. Uh- Mike, Mike and Berta were in today doing a little bit more. Uh, they dropped off that bike of their friend's there and- Oh, that's the Fuji?
• 25:30
The Fuji fat bike. Lot of fat bikes in here, boy. Boy howdy. Yeah, you got a lot of bikes in here, Greg. Jim's fat bike's over there. That's gotta go. Sam's fat bike's over here. Yeah. He's gotta pick that thing up.
• 25:40
Uh, Sam's fat bike, though, that can stay here as long as it wants. [laughs] It's got a special place. Yeah, [laughs] you should probably take it for a ride while it's here. [laughs] Yeah. It's kinda gorgeous. Yep.
• 25:49
Gotta... Had to do a little, uh, a little he's had it for a while maintenance on it, but no big deal. All set to roll. Got some mud on it. Right. Yeah, it does. I'm not, I ain't cleaning no mud off no bike. No. Yeah.
• 26:00
That's your job, Dave. Pay extra for that. Well, yeah, it looks great. That's a... I gotta get a picture of that, too. Well, we've already had this on Featured Bit, but- Sure we have That's just sad.
• 26:10
That's a Chumba, baby. That's a Chumba. We got the- That's not just a Chumba, man. [laughs] That's Chumba- Licious... dream. So I think- Ch-...
• 26:18
all we've got left in Chumba Fat Bikes, folks, if you were ever thinking of one, I got two extra larges and a small. I don't think that we have any other in boxes right now. Mm.
• 26:27
I'm gonna tear through the boxes in the back and see if there might be one more hiding, but I don't think so. XL, baby. So, you know, you thought you wanted one, you called me.
• 26:35
You said, "Boy, cracky, I'd like one of them," and then you didn't get it, and now you're shit outta luck, so. [laughs] Shame Sam. Yeah, you might wanna mention that to, uh, our buddy Sam, um, McMannon there, you know.
• 26:45
He's- Oh, yeah, he's an XL... he's an XL, and he's a big boy... he's an XL. He's a, he's a, da, da, da. He's, uh, he's thinking more along the lines of the, um, the Wyatt- I know... because of his heft.
• 26:55
But, you know- His size... I mean- He's a, he's a big guy. He's a- It is a great bike... he's a big man. He's a big boy. He's, he's a very strong human being. Strong human. You know, but I'm just saying, it's a Chumba.
• 27:05
All right, then. There you go. We got one. Well, there you go, and right, just like that, show's over. Go to hell. [laughs] We love you. Bye.
