- 0:11Speaker 1: Is the good report it tonight that Kevin Rudd, one
- 0:18Speaker 1: former ambassador to Washington, says yes, the new ambassador Kevin
- 0:23Speaker 1: Rudd might actually help Australia by saying sorry for abusing
- 0:27Speaker 1: Donald Trump as a menace now that Trump looks like
- 0:30Speaker 1: being president again. Also tonight, the Albanezi government brazens it
- 0:35Speaker 1: out refusing to hand over the dirty millions that got
- 0:38Speaker 1: into nations from a corrupt union the CFMU.
- 0:43Speaker 2: The concept of handing money back is one of the
- 0:46Speaker 2: most astonishing and absurd ideas I've seen.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Shameless I'll show you more from that extraordinary press conference later.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Plus race baiting Senator Lydia Thorpe poses in a mock
- 0:58Speaker 1: Hamas style head in the green of that terrorist group.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I mean, seriously, and my response to this idiotic sledge
- 1:08Speaker 1: today fake news from our disastrous energy minister.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Full on open climate change denial is now less fashionable
- 1:16Speaker 3: than it was ten or fifteen years. Andrew Bold still
- 1:18Speaker 3: does it, but most other people don't bother with it.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Bowen might regret saying that, but first, you know, I've
- 1:28Speaker 1: been hearing so many people Trump haters, of course, spreading
- 1:32Speaker 1: the most incredible conspiracy theory about the shooting of Donald Trump.
- 1:36Speaker 1: And it's not just online. I mean a dozen just
- 1:39Speaker 1: yesterday that I know of directly. Old was a setup.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Shooting was a setup. I mean, just look how Trump
- 1:46Speaker 1: straightaway posed for this picture, didn't miss abeat after supposedly
- 1:50Speaker 1: being shot. Had to be a setup. Look how it's
- 1:53Speaker 1: helped Trump's campaign made him a hero. Well, let me
- 1:57Speaker 1: just go through this insane theory, because what is actually
- 2:01Speaker 1: clear from the evidence is that it's far more likely
- 2:04Speaker 1: that Trump was nearly killed by something else, the insane
- 2:09Speaker 1: identity politics and also the health and safety obsessions of
- 2:13Speaker 1: the modern left, the thought that infantilizes us, of course,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and nearly got a president killed. Some amazing footage of
- 2:21Speaker 1: this coming up. But first, the conspiracy theory. Now, if
- 2:23Speaker 1: you believe it that this was a setup, you'd have
- 2:27Speaker 1: to believe the Trump campaign actually thought it was losing
- 2:30Speaker 1: this election to Joe Biden and had to go for
- 2:34Speaker 1: a hail Mary pass, and that they thought, I know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: let's get Donald Trump wounded, but not seriously in a
- 2:43Speaker 1: supposed assassination plot and get the sympathy vote. Now, let's
- 2:48Speaker 1: hire not some proven gunman, not some Lee Harvey Osweald
- 2:53Speaker 1: type X army with a grudge. But of all the people,
- 2:57Speaker 1: let's pick a random twin twenty year old loaner with
- 3:01Speaker 1: no known profile or allegiances, and hope that he won't
- 3:05Speaker 1: blab to his parents. And then let's order police away
- 3:08Speaker 1: from the very building that directly overlooks Trump stage so
- 3:11Speaker 1: that our boy gets a clear line of fire, and
- 3:14Speaker 1: let's hope that it's such a dead shot that he
- 3:17Speaker 1: only knicks Trump's ear from at least one hundred and
- 3:20Speaker 1: thirty meters away. Well, in fact, turns out this twenty
- 3:25Speaker 1: year old had to be even better than that. He's
- 3:28Speaker 1: even had to be able to predict that Trump would
- 3:32Speaker 1: move his head very slightly the split second our boy
- 3:37Speaker 1: squeezes that trigger, so that the bullet didn't actually blow
- 3:40Speaker 1: off the back of Trump's head, only hit his ear.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Because those were real bullets. Let's not pretend. I mean
- 3:48Speaker 1: a New York Times photographer just happened to catch one
- 3:51Speaker 1: on a picture flying past Trump's head, was in a
- 3:55Speaker 1: burst of pictures he took, and one person behind Trump
- 3:59Speaker 1: was killed. And to top off this set up this
- 4:02Speaker 1: gunman that these Trump people had to hire, well, he
- 4:08Speaker 1: would have had to expect that his own head would
- 4:10Speaker 1: then be blown off, which it was well nearly figured.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Now to all those people spreading this theory, don't you
- 4:19Speaker 1: think you sound like a total goose? Don't you think
- 4:22Speaker 1: you sound like a real fool? How thick would you
- 4:26Speaker 1: have to be to believe something like that? But it's
- 4:30Speaker 1: oh yeah, but you know, look how fast Trump was
- 4:32Speaker 1: on his feet to find luck. He kind of knew
- 4:34Speaker 1: this was coming. Well, that's because he was a fighter.
- 4:39Speaker 1: He is a fighter. And what's more, he will have
- 4:42Speaker 1: thought a million times of the real wristed be shot.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Other presidents have been shot. And imagine how it's probably imagined,
- 4:49Speaker 1: how it to react is after all, I said, years
- 4:54Speaker 1: of TV stardom, he knows where the cameras are. And
- 4:57Speaker 1: then as a politician, and there were dozens of photographers around,
- 5:01Speaker 1: he would have had at least one around surely to
- 5:04Speaker 1: be able to take that famous picture of him refusing
- 5:07Speaker 1: the cow shaking his fist, and indeed one was there,
- 5:11Speaker 1: only one. Let's not bother with it anymore. If you
- 5:16Speaker 1: hear anyone saying that showing this video whatever, just tell
- 5:19Speaker 1: him you're a fool. But to the real issue here,
- 5:22Speaker 1: which is both more believable and yet more amazing, Why
- 5:28Speaker 1: wasn't that building that this gunman climbed up cleared by police?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Why wasn't a policeman up there instead stopping people from
- 5:37Speaker 1: getting on that roof? And that's just the first amazing thing.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Another is that the head of the Secret Servers, meant
- 5:47Speaker 1: to be defending Trump said, well, police were actually inside
- 5:52Speaker 1: that very building that the gunman used. The gunman was
- 5:55Speaker 1: up there for half an hour. Police meantime, were inside
- 5:58Speaker 1: that very same building. Did you believe that? But they
- 6:01Speaker 1: were in it, not on it. And that apparently is because, well,
- 6:06Speaker 1: the roof was too dangerous. Should that roof have been secure? Period?
- 6:11Speaker 4: That building, in particular has a sloped roof at its
- 6:14Speaker 4: highest point, and so you know, there's a safety factor
- 6:17Speaker 4: that would be considered there that we wouldn't want to
- 6:19Speaker 4: put somebody up on a sloped roof, and so you know,
- 6:23Speaker 4: the decision was made to secure the building from inside.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Is that head of America's Secret Service serious? I mean, really,
- 6:34Speaker 1: the roof used by the gunman that's on the left
- 6:38Speaker 1: was too steep for police to get up on there
- 6:42Speaker 1: now with the body, of course, But meanwhile, the roof
- 6:47Speaker 1: on the right could be used by sniper defending Trump,
- 6:51Speaker 1: although it was what two or three times steeper, That
- 6:56Speaker 1: doesn't make sense. But the result of that idios is
- 7:00Speaker 1: that this amateur gunman had a clear shot at Donald Trump,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and if he was any good at shooting, should have
- 7:06Speaker 1: killed him. Should have been easy. But the stupidity doesn't
- 7:11Speaker 1: end there. That Secret Service director had another modern cause
- 7:15Speaker 1: to push diversity and equity. She is actually ordered in
- 7:21Speaker 1: the past the Secret Service to employ at least thirty
- 7:23Speaker 1: percent more women.
- 7:26Speaker 4: I'm very conscious as I sit in this chair now
- 7:30Speaker 4: of making sure that we need to attract diverse candidates
- 7:34Speaker 4: and ensure that we are developing and giving opportunities to
- 7:37Speaker 4: everybody in our workforce, and particularly women.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And now you've seen the results. Of course, there are
- 7:44Speaker 1: women agents too short to protect Trump from bullets, no
- 7:50Speaker 1: idea what they're doing, fluttering here and there while the
- 7:53Speaker 1: male agents went about bundling Trump in through his car.
- 7:56Speaker 1: One was not even able to holster her gun. It's
- 8:00Speaker 1: just so nervous and flustered, and another was fiddling with
- 8:03Speaker 1: the sunglasses. Let's see it all again, because it's almost
- 8:07Speaker 1: Keystone cops. In fact, that was so embarrassing that I
- 8:48Speaker 1: think that might explain something we sought three days later?
- 8:53Speaker 1: Was it yesterday when Trump arrived at the Republican National
- 8:58Speaker 1: Conference with another for a lot of guards, secret service
- 9:03Speaker 1: agents and see something about them all mail, all big,
- 9:08Speaker 1: all intimidating. I think lesson learned. So there's no need
- 9:14Speaker 1: to look to kooky conspiracy theories to explain this shooting.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I think you should look instead to the most monumental incompetence,
- 9:24Speaker 1: and thanks in part to modern new identity politics and
- 9:28Speaker 1: a little bit of health fascism, not to mention, of course,
- 9:33Speaker 1: a lot of anti Trump hatred pushed so recklessly by
- 9:37Speaker 1: the left. But I've now I got to interrupt this
- 9:44Speaker 1: train of thought, go to interrupt my own show to
- 9:47Speaker 1: put out an idiot alert. Energy Minister Chris Bone says
- 9:54Speaker 1: something about me the National Press Club today that forces
- 9:56Speaker 1: me to conclude he really is an idiot. If I
- 10:00Speaker 1: didn't think that, I'd have to call him alone. That
- 10:02Speaker 1: would be rude. So this is what this idiot said
- 10:05Speaker 1: about me and selling his disastrous plan today to force
- 10:10Speaker 1: Australia to run its economy totally on unreliable wind and
- 10:14Speaker 1: solar power.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Full on open climate change denial is now less fashionable
- 10:19Speaker 3: than it was ten or fifteen years ago into public debate.
- 10:21Speaker 3: You can't do it as easily. It used to be
- 10:24Speaker 3: quite common. Now it's not so common. Andrew Bold still
- 10:28Speaker 3: does it, but most other people don't bother with it.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Actually, skepticism about Bones climate fear mongering and his net
- 10:35Speaker 1: zero plans is growing. But let me deal with his
- 10:39Speaker 1: most fundamental misunderstanding. I won't say live because, like I
- 10:43Speaker 1: said that, it would be rude. I have never been
- 10:46Speaker 1: in denial about climate change, as you know if you've
- 10:49Speaker 1: been watching the show but reading my condumns for years.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I've always said the planet has warmed slightly over the
- 10:55Speaker 1: past century, as I pointed out again to Malcolm Turnbul
- 10:58Speaker 1: four years ago, and he made that so a false
- 11:00Speaker 1: claim about me climate denier. I've had to tell the
- 11:03Speaker 1: ABC before that as well. But the real reason I
- 11:07Speaker 1: think I anger Chris Bowen is that what I have
- 11:11Speaker 1: done is noted correctly that we haven't had many the
- 11:15Speaker 1: predicted consequences of that warming. We haven't had Bone's climate
- 11:19Speaker 1: catastrophe that it was claiming today. That's what I'm denying now.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Some examples nearly two decades ago, for instance, former Climate
- 11:28Speaker 1: Change Commissioner Tim Flannery famously predicted global warming could dry
- 11:32Speaker 1: our dams would then the rains that fill them, and
- 11:36Speaker 1: Sydney could be without water in a few years. Instead
- 11:38Speaker 1: of Sydney's dams are today ninety nine percent full of
- 11:41Speaker 1: Melbourne's eighty seven percent. We're also told the Great Berry
- 11:44Speaker 1: Reef would die instead hard coral cover is at or
- 11:48Speaker 1: near record highs. We were told rising seas would drown
- 11:52Speaker 1: at all island such as the Muldos and Tuvalu. In fact,
- 11:54Speaker 1: both nations have grown, as even the New York Times
- 11:58Speaker 1: now admits now. We were also told that we'd get
- 12:01Speaker 1: more cyclones for Australias instead had fewer over the past
- 12:05Speaker 1: fifty years. And on it goes. Yet to save us
- 12:10Speaker 1: from this fake climate crisis, cris Bone is now defacing
- 12:15Speaker 1: our countryside with wind farms and destroying our reliable coulified powers.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Is them claiming wind and sol that will give us
- 12:22Speaker 1: cheaper power? Did it again? Today?
- 12:25Speaker 3: Our grid is almost as I said, forty percent renewable. Today.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Renewable energy is incredibly cheap because its fuel is free,
- 12:34Speaker 3: because it's the sunshine and the wind.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It's cheap. Look at what's happened to your power bills.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Go and look at your power bills, Cris Bone is
- 12:43Speaker 1: conning you. And look also at the billions as blowing
- 12:46Speaker 1: on green energy schemes, including green hydrogen, this miracle fuel
- 12:51Speaker 1: made from water that's actually unproven at scale anywhere in
- 12:54Speaker 1: the world. Yet Bone today again told us that we
- 12:58Speaker 1: can't have something that is proven, has been proven used
- 13:01Speaker 1: in so many countries, nuclear power stations, proven technology, and
- 13:06Speaker 1: he says we can't have them here all the nations,
- 13:09Speaker 1: that we can't have them because they'll be built too
- 13:11Speaker 1: late to save us, by which he means to save
- 13:13Speaker 1: us from the energy crisis he is causing. So no,
- 13:18Speaker 1: I don't deny climate change. What I deny what I
- 13:22Speaker 1: really denies that Bowen's mad spending will do anything to
- 13:26Speaker 1: change our climate or save us from his climate disaster.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Prove me wrong, Chris, and don't be such an idiot.
- 13:34Speaker 1: At least understand the arguments before trashing your critics who
- 13:38Speaker 1: point out why you're so wrong. Join me. Is Rondinas
- 13:43Speaker 1: are the Spectator, Australian hosts of Outsiders here in Sky
- 13:46Speaker 1: News every Sunday at nine am. Great show Last Sunday.
- 13:50Speaker 1: By the way, round. Now, listen, how does Bowen still
- 13:54Speaker 1: not get this basic argument. You've run it too, that
- 13:58Speaker 1: the pain of his globe warming schemes is just not
- 14:02Speaker 1: worth the games. You add it up.
- 14:07Speaker 5: Well, Andrew. Unlike you, I do admit I am a denier.
- 14:12Speaker 5: I am what is called a Bowen denier. I don't
- 14:15Speaker 5: believe Chris Bowen actually exists. I think he is a myth.
- 14:19Speaker 5: I think he is a hoax. I think is a
- 14:21Speaker 5: conspiracy invented by the Liberal Party back in the eighties.
- 14:27Speaker 5: They snuck Chris Bowen into the Labor Party with the
- 14:31Speaker 5: sole mission of destroying the Labor Party at every opportunity
- 14:34Speaker 5: he can as soon as it gets close to getting
- 14:37Speaker 5: into power, as it did there with Bill Shorten, Bowen
- 14:40Speaker 5: exploded the whole thing. When Julia Gillard was going strong
- 14:43Speaker 5: and looking good, Bowen detonated that government. Same with the
- 14:46Speaker 5: rud government. So here's the secret that you have installed,
- 14:50Speaker 5: the secret hoax installed inside the Labor bod and he's
- 14:53Speaker 5: up to his old tricks again. But I'm also proud
- 14:56Speaker 5: to say not only am I a Bowen denier, I'm
- 14:58Speaker 5: also a renewable denier. And I actually deny emphatically that
- 15:04Speaker 5: renewables can do the things people like Chris Bowen keep telling.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Us they can.
- 15:09Speaker 5: That makes me a renewables denier. For example, Chris Bowen
- 15:13Speaker 5: promised us that renewables would bring down my electricity bill
- 15:18Speaker 5: by two hundred and seventy five dollars. Now, Andrew, every commoy,
- 15:22Speaker 5: I'm going to envelop the email arrives.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Sorry, you're not going to tell me that didn't happen,
- 15:29Speaker 1: that your power bill didn't go down by two hundred
- 15:32Speaker 1: and seventy five dollars.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Not only that, Andrew, but it goes up up by
- 15:38Speaker 5: more than that every time. So I'm denying renewables do
- 15:41Speaker 5: what they say. Now, Chris Bowen can talk all he wants,
- 15:44Speaker 5: talk into the wind, which occasionally blows. Not often enough
- 15:48Speaker 5: is renewables. But he can talk into the wind all
- 15:50Speaker 5: he likes. But the reality is we are. He has
- 15:54Speaker 5: presented a dichotomy which I'm actually really pleased he presented
- 15:58Speaker 5: the other day. It's either renewables or nuclear, that they're
- 16:02Speaker 5: incompatible with each other, and he says therefore we must
- 16:05Speaker 5: ditch nuclear as an idea, it's the other way round.
- 16:09Speaker 5: If nuclear and renewables are incompatible, ditch renewables, because nuclear
- 16:15Speaker 5: is the energy the future. It's the super battery. If
- 16:17Speaker 5: you want a battery to store energy, the best way,
- 16:20Speaker 5: the smallest physical entity that you can have to store
- 16:24Speaker 5: energy is uranium, is nuclear power. So the future energy
- 16:28Speaker 5: requirements of this continent and our growing population will require
- 16:33Speaker 5: nuclear full stop. There's nowhere around it.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Or coal.
- 16:37Speaker 5: We can go back to cold because that's not as good,
- 16:39Speaker 5: but nearly as good at storing vast amounts of energy
- 16:42Speaker 5: in a very small space. But we cannot have only renewables.
- 16:46Speaker 5: So if it's a contest between renewables and nuclear, I'm
- 16:49Speaker 5: afraid nuclear must win or we have to.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Get used to life without energy absolutely. Look, there were
- 16:57Speaker 1: so many fossils in the in this speech. I'm not
- 17:00Speaker 1: going to go through them all. But you know, saying
- 17:04Speaker 1: today nuclear would take too long, it'd take ten to
- 17:08Speaker 1: twenty years to build a plant. Well, if you put
- 17:09Speaker 1: your shoulder to it, it'll take a bit shorter than
- 17:11Speaker 1: twenty years, lot shorter. And isn't this the same guy
- 17:15Speaker 1: that's got plans to go net zero by twenty fifty,
- 17:18Speaker 1: which is thirty six years from now, and he says
- 17:20Speaker 1: that gas will still need to be used beyond then,
- 17:23Speaker 1: So really, let's start now on nuclear power. I mean,
- 17:26Speaker 1: the whole thing is a joke, now, Rowan. I mentioned
- 17:29Speaker 1: at the top of the show the ludicrous excuses given
- 17:34Speaker 1: by America's Secret Service director for not having police on
- 17:37Speaker 1: the roof of the building used by the man who
- 17:39Speaker 1: shot Donald Trump, plus the diversity equity policies she's been
- 17:43Speaker 1: pushing that might actually help explain my so many Secret
- 17:46Speaker 1: Service agents guarding Trump were short women who seemed confused
- 17:50Speaker 1: and even unable to holst a gun. The moral of
- 17:54Speaker 1: this story, Rowan, Well, the moral of.
- 17:58Speaker 5: The story is we used to have a song Don
- 18:01Speaker 5: McLain about the day the music died. The assassination of
- 18:04Speaker 5: Donald Trump was the day that DEEI did diversity, equity
- 18:07Speaker 5: and inclusion died. It was shown for the absolute joke
- 18:11Speaker 5: and fast that it is diversity and equity inclusion.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Was the.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Kim Cheetle, who's the head of the Secret Services, one
- 18:20Speaker 5: of Jill Biden's great mates and an absolute champion of diversity,
- 18:25Speaker 5: equity inclusion, who committed the Secret Service of the USA
- 18:28Speaker 5: having more women I think it's thirty percent by whatever date.
- 18:32Speaker 5: And we saw there played out in all you referred
- 18:36Speaker 5: that Keystone Cops. I've had in mind more a kind
- 18:39Speaker 5: of dan Ackroyd Bill Murray comedy from the nineteen eighties,
- 18:42Speaker 5: which is what the assassination of Donald Trump mercifully was.
- 18:46Speaker 5: You had security guards imagine Bill Murra and dan Ocred
- 18:50Speaker 5: there in the room looking around, going, oh, we're looking
- 18:52Speaker 5: out for snipers. And they hear these footsteps up on
- 18:54Speaker 5: the roof. Oh, I wonder what that could be.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Possum's in the roof, is it.
- 18:58Speaker 5: You've got this security guards wandering around, You've got the
- 19:02Speaker 5: public's going look, look like the worst acting you've ever seen.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Look over there, there's a sniper on the roof. He's
- 19:08Speaker 5: got a gun and he's pointing it at the president.
- 19:11Speaker 5: And then the camera pans across and there's the president
- 19:13Speaker 5: Da da da da da da da da da carrying
- 19:15Speaker 5: on or the former president. This was a face and
- 19:18Speaker 5: that's putting it kindly. The kindest interpretation.
- 19:22Speaker 1: On the attempted assassination on Donald Trump.
- 19:25Speaker 5: The kindest interpretation was it was a monumental stuff up
- 19:30Speaker 5: of epic proportions, driven solely and entirely by woke ideology
- 19:37Speaker 5: at the highest levels of the US government. Going right
- 19:40Speaker 5: to the president that, as I say, is the kindest interpretation.
- 19:43Speaker 5: The alternally interpretation is more sinister, but let's stick with
- 19:47Speaker 5: the kind one. The incompetence level, you had security agents
- 19:51Speaker 5: shorter than the person they're protecting. You had female agents
- 19:55Speaker 5: wandering around trying to put their holster in their thing,
- 19:57Speaker 5: not knowing which way to look, putting their do up
- 19:59Speaker 5: with my sun, Glas is on. Do I not an
- 20:01Speaker 5: absolute fast of what happens when you don't.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Have the very very best and the idea that you have.
- 20:06Speaker 5: A rooftop that has a slope, Because suddenly Kim Cheatle
- 20:10Speaker 5: has discovered the roofs have slopes to them, we can't
- 20:12Speaker 5: possibly have our security snipers up on the slope. They
- 20:16Speaker 5: might twist an ankle, they might slip over and hurt themselves.
- 20:19Speaker 5: I mean, this is every company in the world is
- 20:23Speaker 5: forced to suffer through diversity, equity inclusion.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Here, I am laughing at it, Rohan, here, I'm laughing
- 20:32Speaker 1: at it. But this match the bullet going this this
- 20:36Speaker 1: much to the right, and we would actually be talking
- 20:40Speaker 1: about a well absolute civic havoc in America, total disaster,
- 20:47Speaker 1: a tragedy. Question. At the moment, it's a comedy. But
- 20:51Speaker 1: g it is serious. It really is serious. I mean
- 20:54Speaker 1: I even saw or so Off snipe that the gunman
- 20:59Speaker 1: was only I haven't had it confirmed. It as a
- 21:02Speaker 1: report on the American TV stop by police going into
- 21:06Speaker 1: the venue with a rangefinder, which is you clip on
- 21:08Speaker 1: a rifle to see exactly how and they led him through,
- 21:12Speaker 1: which he also begs the question where was the or
- 21:15Speaker 1: suggests the question where indeed was the rifle hidden? And
- 21:17Speaker 1: how come they hadn't found it in scoping the joint themselves.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Rowan Dean, thank you so.
- 21:21Speaker 5: Much, And he bought a five foot ladder. Every Buster
- 21:24Speaker 5: Keaton film andrew every Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin film
- 21:27Speaker 5: begins with a guy going to buy a ladder. This
- 21:29Speaker 5: bloke boy headed off to find a rooftop to shoot
- 21:32Speaker 5: the president.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I mean, give me a break.
- 21:35Speaker 6: I know.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Well, if there was a ladder there, it should have
- 21:37Speaker 1: been given to some of those female security guards around Trump. Rowndean,
- 21:41Speaker 1: thanks for your time. After the break, Kevin Rudd was
- 21:43Speaker 1: one of the worst in calling Donald Trump a crazy
- 21:47Speaker 1: man and a threat to democracy, really whipping up the hysteria.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So you got to ask, why is he still our ambassador?
- 21:53Speaker 1: To Washington now that Trump looks like being president again.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I talked to another former ambassador who's there. The things
- 22:04Speaker 1: just get better and better for Donald Trump after his
- 22:07Speaker 1: miracle escape. He had two of his biggest Republican enemies
- 22:10Speaker 1: actually endorse him today the Republican National Conference. There was
- 22:14Speaker 1: Nicky Hayley, the last of these challenges, drop out of
- 22:17Speaker 1: the primaries race against him, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
- 22:22Speaker 1: telling the voters to back Donald Trump. And all this
- 22:25Speaker 1: when the Democrats, meanwhile, in contrast, they're trying to get
- 22:29Speaker 1: rid of their candidate, they obviously frail and mentally incompetent,
- 22:32Speaker 1: Joe Biden. I suspect this is going to be a
- 22:36Speaker 1: huge Trump win, and that would be a nightmare for
- 22:41Speaker 1: our ambassador in Washington, former Labor Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
- 22:45Speaker 1: And that's because the Republicans right now quite reasonably been
- 22:49Speaker 1: blaming the left for demonizing Trump, making him seem such
- 22:51Speaker 1: a minister democracy that it would be a public duty
- 22:54Speaker 1: to kill him and run himself. Before becoming ambassador, was
- 23:00Speaker 1: one of the worst in pushing that meme. I mean,
- 23:03Speaker 1: he called Trump a trader to the West. Trump was
- 23:07Speaker 1: the most destructive president in history. He was a man
- 23:10Speaker 1: who drags America and democracy through the mud. He abuses Christianity,
- 23:16Speaker 1: Church and Bible to justify violence.
- 23:19Speaker 6: I think the general consensus amongst anyone concerned with the
- 23:22Speaker 6: public policy process, domestic or international, thinks he's nuts.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Well Rudd now the ambassador, as I said in Washington today,
- 23:32Speaker 1: told another former ambassador Joe Hockey, who is actually a
- 23:37Speaker 1: golfing partner Donald Trump. But hey, no worries. We'll be
- 23:41Speaker 1: sweet with a new president Trump.
- 23:44Speaker 6: The really good thing about the United States is brand
- 23:46Speaker 6: Australia is in good working order, and therefore we are
- 23:50Speaker 6: in a good position to work with whichever party is elected.
- 23:55Speaker 6: If the American people vote for Donald Trump and for events,
- 24:01Speaker 6: Australian government led by Anthony Alberanezi will be in there
- 24:06Speaker 6: working hard, positively, constructively with incoming Republic administration from day one.
- 24:13Speaker 1: In fact, the same Rudd who used to be calling Trump,
- 24:17Speaker 1: you know, Minister Democracy, nuts, terrible, a man of violence,
- 24:22Speaker 1: et cetera, et cetera. Is there turning ambassadors of other
- 24:26Speaker 1: countries not to treat Trump as a threat.
- 24:30Speaker 7: Do you think they're overreacting to him at the moment?
- 24:33Speaker 6: What I say to many ambassadors in Washington, is it's
- 24:39Speaker 6: really important to chill?
- 24:42Speaker 1: Just chill.
- 24:44Speaker 6: The simple reason is, if President Trump's elected on the
- 24:48Speaker 6: fifth of November, We're not going over some chasm. If
- 24:52Speaker 6: instead you think, my god, this is beyond the pale
- 24:57Speaker 6: and reached via smelling salts, well you know something. There's
- 25:00Speaker 6: going to cruel you from day one. That's actually the
- 25:02Speaker 6: wrong conclusion. I say a lot to the Euros along
- 25:05Speaker 6: these lines, which is childill.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Which raises this question. It's Kevin right admitting who was
- 25:12Speaker 1: actually wrong? When he deem knows Trump as his monster
- 25:15Speaker 1: trashing democracy, then maybe he should say so, Well, maybe
- 25:21Speaker 1: we should get ourselves an ambassador with better judgment, and
- 25:24Speaker 1: one Trump is more likely to talk to. Joining me
- 25:28Speaker 1: from the National Public Conference earlier, Scarne New's, a US
- 25:33Speaker 1: politics analyst and former Australian Ambassador of the US. Joe Hockey.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Joe Hockey, great to see you again, Thanks for your time. Look,
- 25:43Speaker 1: even Donald Trump's enemies in the Republican Party today were
- 25:46Speaker 1: uniting behind him at the Republican Convention. Behind you, people
- 25:51Speaker 1: like Nicky Hayley and Florida Governor Ron De Santis. On
- 25:55Speaker 1: the other side, many Democrat politicians are wanting President Joe
- 25:59Speaker 1: Biden to quit as their candidate in the November election. So, really,
- 26:04Speaker 1: chalk and cheese, what betting odds would you now give
- 26:08Speaker 1: on Trump becoming president again.
- 26:13Speaker 8: Well, in my view, there is a real momentum behind
- 26:16Speaker 8: the Republicans, and it's, as usual, taken a couple of
- 26:20Speaker 8: events to make that dramatically obvious. Obviously, Joe Biden failed
- 26:26Speaker 8: dismally in the debate, but what it illustrated was his
- 26:30Speaker 8: suffering cognitive to climb and there is a general sadness across.
- 26:34Speaker 7: America about that.
- 26:35Speaker 8: I mean, a lot of families have been affected by
- 26:38Speaker 8: parents and grandparents that have gone through that. So there
- 26:41Speaker 8: was no celebration of it. In fact, Donald Trump was
- 26:45Speaker 8: really careful not to overplay it or prosecute the argument.
- 26:51Speaker 8: It was self evident and it's irreversible. The second issue,
- 26:55Speaker 8: of course, was Saturday Night, and you know, that just
- 26:59Speaker 8: goes to the safety and security of America. It goes
- 27:02Speaker 8: to the fact that Donald Trump showed a level of
- 27:05Speaker 8: defiance and a strength of character that some had not
- 27:10Speaker 8: seen and or many had not seen in some cases,
- 27:14Speaker 8: and that also had an impact as well.
- 27:17Speaker 7: But the final thing about that is what that has done.
- 27:21Speaker 8: It has forced Joe Biden to say, I am staying
- 27:26Speaker 8: he now has a legitimate exclusive for not winning the
- 27:29Speaker 8: election if that should happen. That this event on Saturday
- 27:33Speaker 8: showed that Joe Biden could not cower in the face
- 27:38Speaker 8: of another assassin's bullet and cannot cow when things get tough.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Well, look, since Trump was shot Joe, as you know,
- 27:51Speaker 1: a lot of blame has been put on the left
- 27:53Speaker 1: for demonizing Trump as a dictator. I'm not saying that
- 27:55Speaker 1: lead directors of the shooting. We don't know what did,
- 27:58Speaker 1: but you know, painting him as a tata, a threat
- 28:00Speaker 1: to democracy. And one of the people who did that
- 28:03Speaker 1: is Kevin Rudd. Now, Ambassador Washington, you just had a
- 28:07Speaker 1: chat with him. He's called Trump at traitor to the West, nuts,
- 28:11Speaker 1: the most destructive president in history, a man who drags
- 28:14Speaker 1: American democracy through the mud, who abuses Christianity to justify violence. Now,
- 28:20Speaker 1: when you interviewed Rudd, he said Australia can now work
- 28:24Speaker 1: with Donald Trump as president. That's all very well, But
- 28:29Speaker 1: is Kevin Rudd the man who can get the best
- 28:33Speaker 1: deal for Australia from a Trump presidency when he's been
- 28:37Speaker 1: as reckless as anyone in demonizing him.
- 28:43Speaker 8: Well, look, I don't really want to get into deep
- 28:46Speaker 8: criticism of Kevin Rudd or or frankly, as far as
- 28:51Speaker 8: I'm concerned, it's Team Australia. And look, if Kevin Rudd
- 28:55Speaker 8: needs a hand, I'll give him a hand other as
- 28:57Speaker 8: well as well.
- 28:58Speaker 7: You know, there was the example that JD.
- 29:01Speaker 8: Vance said some pretty extreme things about about Donald Trump
- 29:07Speaker 8: when he was a never Trumper. So I think the
- 29:09Speaker 8: road to Damascus is well worn and we'll see if
- 29:12Speaker 8: Kevin Rudd is going to walk that as well.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Yeah. But the difference there, Joe, as you know, is
- 29:17Speaker 1: that JD. Van's actually publicly said he was wrong, he
- 29:21Speaker 1: was wrong about Donald Trump, he misread him. Rudd has
- 29:25Speaker 1: never said he was wrong to think that Trump was
- 29:27Speaker 1: a traitor, a man of violence, destructive and a threat
- 29:30Speaker 1: to democracy. With a little bit of humility sort of
- 29:33Speaker 1: I see the light now kind of moment. Might that
- 29:37Speaker 1: help Australia?
- 29:41Speaker 7: It might? And again, you know, Andrew, I'll leave it.
- 29:45Speaker 7: I'll leave it to Kevin Ruddy. He's a big boy.
- 29:49Speaker 7: He's got to handle that.
- 29:50Speaker 8: And frankly, it's too important for Australia not to have
- 29:55Speaker 8: a strong relationship with the United States, and I think
- 29:58Speaker 8: if everyone's shoulder.
- 29:59Speaker 7: Has to go, the will save it.
- 30:01Speaker 8: Uh, well, wait and see if Kevin Rud's able to
- 30:04Speaker 8: change his opinion on Donald Trump. Maybe he'll change his
- 30:07Speaker 8: opinion on Rivert Murdock as well.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I don't think I'm I'm not in Biden's league age wise,
- 30:17Speaker 1: but I don't think I'll live to see that day.
- 30:20Speaker 1: You mentioned earlier, This this Trump that you're seeing in
- 30:24Speaker 1: the last week or two. It's been fascinated both in
- 30:26Speaker 1: the debate with Biden, as you mentioned, especially after it's
- 30:29Speaker 1: been shot, calmer, less aggressive. You met him a bit
- 30:34Speaker 1: as ambassador. Is this a change, a genuine change? Do
- 30:39Speaker 1: you think was it a tactical thing or was he
- 30:42Speaker 1: always did he always have that softer side?
- 30:48Speaker 7: No?
- 30:48Speaker 8: No, Well, privately yes, he is. He is a He
- 30:54Speaker 8: has a curious mind. Donald Trump does care about people.
- 31:00Speaker 8: I always ask how you know the family were, and
- 31:03Speaker 8: he'd care about individuals. He did a lot of things
- 31:07Speaker 8: for a lot of people that was never publicized. That's
- 31:11Speaker 8: Donald Trump. But there is no doubt that the assassination
- 31:14Speaker 8: attempt has had a big impact on him. You could
- 31:16Speaker 8: see his face last night he had tears in his eyes,
- 31:20Speaker 8: and he sees someone who cries as a sense of weakness. Well,
- 31:26Speaker 8: last night he had tears in his eyes, and because
- 31:30Speaker 8: he was overwhelmed, not just with the support, but with
- 31:33Speaker 8: the fact that he was.
- 31:36Speaker 7: Half an inch away from death.
- 31:38Speaker 8: And quite frankly, it has changed, and the fact is
- 31:42Speaker 8: illustrated best by the Donald Trump has come into the
- 31:46Speaker 8: convention center to listen to Nicki Haley, who was his
- 31:50Speaker 8: chief critic in the Republican Party, and Ron de Sanders
- 31:53Speaker 8: to listen to their speeches. Nicky Haley wasn't going to speak,
- 31:57Speaker 8: but Nicky Haley has spoken and illustrates the fact that.
- 32:01Speaker 7: Donald Trump is going down a different course.
- 32:04Speaker 8: If he is conciliatory on Thursday night, if Donald Trump
- 32:10Speaker 8: is measured during the rest of the campaign, he will
- 32:13Speaker 8: win by seven to eight points and deliver forty seats
- 32:16Speaker 8: in the Congress. But if he reverts back to the
- 32:19Speaker 8: old Donald Trump, it'll be a much closer election.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I think you've called it exactly correctly. Finally, a president
- 32:31Speaker 1: in America under Donald Trump. How's that going to affect Australia.
- 32:34Speaker 1: What's going to change?
- 32:39Speaker 8: Well, I think Donald Trump already has a very high
- 32:42Speaker 8: opinion of Australia. It'll be up to Prime Minister Albernizi
- 32:46Speaker 8: and Kevin Rudd to establish a good rapport from the
- 32:49Speaker 8: very beginning, and that will depend on the relationship that
- 32:53Speaker 8: has been built, relationships that have been built with a
- 32:56Speaker 8: number of the people that.
- 32:57Speaker 7: Are around Donald Trump.
- 32:59Speaker 8: Also, importantly, it'll be advocacy from others who know Donald
- 33:03Speaker 8: trumpould have dealt with him, from Greg Norman and Rupert
- 33:06Speaker 8: Murdock through to a range of others that dealt with
- 33:09Speaker 8: him in the previous lives.
- 33:12Speaker 7: You know, Andrew, you know this better than anyone.
- 33:16Speaker 8: This is an election that is not just being fought
- 33:19Speaker 8: on personalities.
- 33:20Speaker 7: It's being fought on policy.
- 33:22Speaker 8: And today it was dominated about by immigration and about
- 33:26Speaker 8: personal security, about the despair on the streets of major
- 33:31Speaker 8: American cities of fentanyl, of the abuse of individuals of
- 33:36Speaker 8: gun crime. This is the stuff that resonates with America's base.
- 33:41Speaker 8: Everyone wants to feel safe, everyone wants to feel secure,
- 33:45Speaker 8: and everyone wants to ensure that there is not a
- 33:48Speaker 8: free and open border with Mexico. And these are the
- 33:51Speaker 8: issues that are going to deliver Donald Trump a victory
- 33:54Speaker 8: if it should happen on the fifth of November.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Jure Hockey always great to talk to you. Thank you
- 34:01Speaker 1: so much for your time.
- 34:05Speaker 7: Thanks Andrew, thanks very much.
- 34:08Speaker 1: After the break, the ABC tried such a dirty trick
- 34:11Speaker 1: to fool its audience. This is so bad. What a
- 34:20Speaker 1: joke today, total joke. The ob eazy government's response to
- 34:24Speaker 1: the union scandal with claims of organized crime corruption, a
- 34:29Speaker 1: scandal that got even worse today now with photographs of
- 34:32Speaker 1: cash payments allegedly a kickback handed to one union official
- 34:35Speaker 1: in New South Wales has since been charged with corruption. Now, yes,
- 34:40Speaker 1: of course the government is now put in the cfmu's
- 34:42Speaker 1: construction branch under administration. But the rest, I mean, you
- 34:46Speaker 1: got to ask, do they think we're fools? The first
- 34:49Speaker 1: thing is this that went of the labor says, Oh,
- 34:51Speaker 1: never suspected this union was dirty, This union that has
- 34:57Speaker 1: so many votes in labor pre selections, that are so
- 34:59Speaker 1: many mates in the Albanezy government. It never knew. No
- 35:02Speaker 1: one believes that.
- 35:04Speaker 9: The Only thing that's changed here is that the Prime
- 35:06Speaker 9: minister's mates have been caught on tape. And that's what's
- 35:09Speaker 9: happened here. The Prime Minister has known of the activities
- 35:13Speaker 9: of the CFMU for years and years he chosen to
- 35:16Speaker 9: do nothing about it.
- 35:18Speaker 1: I get the answer today from workplace Minster. Tony Burker
- 35:21Speaker 1: claims he and his department never knew anything about never
- 35:25Speaker 1: suspect that he had to wait for some journalists to
- 35:28Speaker 1: tell him, and I don't think they believed them either.
- 35:30Speaker 10: Today are you telling us that you had your department
- 35:36Speaker 10: had no inclination of organized crime infiltrating this union, which
- 35:43Speaker 10: has been going on obviously for some time. And if so,
- 35:48Speaker 10: how can Nick mackenzie know about it, but your department,
- 35:53Speaker 10: you and others don't.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I think some of this goes to the nature of
- 35:57Speaker 2: organized crime.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Remember that this Burke is the same minister who had
- 36:02Speaker 1: the Building Industry watchdog scrap the Strain Building and Construction
- 36:05Speaker 1: Commission because this CFMU said, oh, the ABCC is back,
- 36:11Speaker 1: got to have it sacked, and that ABCC would have
- 36:14Speaker 1: warned labor that this union was misusing its power trying
- 36:17Speaker 1: to run the closed shop, et cetera. And they did
- 36:22Speaker 1: scrap it. That's what you get when you donate to
- 36:24Speaker 1: the labor parties, state and federally four million dollars of
- 36:27Speaker 1: union money. And now Burke says us up to journalists
- 36:31Speaker 1: to help alert him to corruption. He got serious. But
- 36:37Speaker 1: as I said, the Liberals and me, we've all said,
- 36:43Speaker 1: pay back that money you got from this dirty union,
- 36:45Speaker 1: those millions Burke. Then today, who's amazed? What labor? Give
- 36:49Speaker 1: it up? Should you have some of suggested beheading some
- 36:55Speaker 1: of that money back.
- 36:56Speaker 2: The concept of handing money back is one of the
- 37:00Speaker 2: most astonishing and absurd ideas I've seen. Are the liberal
- 37:04Speaker 2: parties seriously suggesting that at this moment the action of
- 37:07Speaker 2: the government should be that we hand money to the CFMU.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Nice spin, minister, But as I said here last night,
- 37:14Speaker 1: pay that money back not to the union but to
- 37:17Speaker 1: the real victims of this scam. The taxpayers have had
- 37:20Speaker 1: to pay more for government building products about twenty percent
- 37:24Speaker 1: more of some say because the CFMEU got its snout
- 37:27Speaker 1: in there and paid labor for the favor. It's disgusting.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Joining me is the panel Federal Queensland Liberal MP Garth
- 37:37Speaker 1: Hamilton and James Ashby, Chief of Staff to One Nation
- 37:40Speaker 1: leader Pauline Hansen GAF Should the government give back the money,
- 37:46Speaker 1: not to the CFMU, but to the taxpayers who ultimately
- 37:50Speaker 1: had to pay more.
- 37:53Speaker 11: Absolutely they should, of course they should, no question. They
- 37:56Speaker 11: should also be looking at money received from other unions
- 37:58Speaker 11: that they have suspicions about. I'll just say the words ETU. Look,
- 38:02Speaker 11: we've got to remember here, this is a party that
- 38:04Speaker 11: intends to bring laws changing the political donation legislation in
- 38:08Speaker 11: Australia so that they think that they have some right
- 38:11Speaker 11: to talk about political donation law reform in Australia. At
- 38:14Speaker 11: the same time, they've taken what six million dollars from
- 38:17Speaker 11: the CFMU since mister Albanez became the leader. It's absolutely extraordinary.
- 38:23Speaker 11: There's no question they should be handing this back. And
- 38:25Speaker 11: I think the big point here is there is no
- 38:28Speaker 11: differentiation between Labor and the CFMU. It's not like this
- 38:31Speaker 11: is some deal between them. This is how they work.
- 38:33Speaker 11: This is the organized part. And sadly these allegations I
- 38:38Speaker 11: think they speak to the broader Isshary Andrew. You know,
- 38:40Speaker 11: there's two issues in Australia right now, crime and cost
- 38:43Speaker 11: of living that we've got allegations of serious crime in
- 38:46Speaker 11: the CFMU and their actions are driving up the cost
- 38:49Speaker 11: of things, making inflation work worse for every Australian. And
- 38:53Speaker 11: I don't think there can be any argument whatsoever for
- 38:55Speaker 11: condemning the CFMU, handing the money back and then turning
- 38:58Speaker 11: the spotlight onto the other union back to.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Were as successful. Absolutely exactly. Now, James Ashby, you know
- 39:07Speaker 1: what strikes me. Look, Labor for state governments have now
- 39:10Speaker 1: said we're not accepting any more donations or we're pausing
- 39:13Speaker 1: from this union because the money is dirty, it's tainted, suspicious,
- 39:17Speaker 1: and yet Labour's going to keep the money it's already got.
- 39:20Speaker 1: I mean, something doesn't fit there.
- 39:25Speaker 12: No, Burke reminds me of Sergeant Schultz. I know nothing,
- 39:29Speaker 12: because look, I can't believe you just got up on
- 39:32Speaker 12: stage and just point blank lied about knowing nothing here. Look,
- 39:37Speaker 12: as someone who's done a number of political campaigns in
- 39:40Speaker 12: the past, the Labor Party are joined at the hip
- 39:44Speaker 12: with the CFMU and so many other militant style unions,
- 39:48Speaker 12: and all you have to do is be a volunteer
- 39:51Speaker 12: on a polling booth and you can see this grubby
- 39:54Speaker 12: bullying behavior that happens just on polling booths on election days.
- 39:59Speaker 12: I've had candidates walk out of pollingberg's in tears just
- 40:03Speaker 12: by the militant behavior of some of those unions that
- 40:06Speaker 12: line up with Labor. So they've known for a very
- 40:07Speaker 12: long time that this behavior is going on. Now they
- 40:11Speaker 12: have acted more like a cartel in this country, which
- 40:14Speaker 12: we have outlawed in industries like the service station industry,
- 40:18Speaker 12: the insurance companies, banks, they're outlawed from acting like cartels.
- 40:23Speaker 12: And yet here's a union that has been setting the
- 40:27Speaker 12: price of construction right across this country and jacking it up,
- 40:31Speaker 12: and that has added to the cost of construction right
- 40:34Speaker 12: across all sectors. That's including the households as well, and
- 40:38Speaker 12: we're not getting bank for buck on our infrastructure as
- 40:41Speaker 12: a result of this. There needs to be a oral
- 40:43Speaker 12: commission into it because it also goes as far as
- 40:47Speaker 12: our major superannuation firms who are handling close to four
- 40:51Speaker 12: trillion dollars with the Australian taxpayers money, those people who
- 40:55Speaker 12: have worked hard and these people may get a slap
- 40:59Speaker 12: on the wrist here, because that's what Albanese is aiming at.
- 41:02Speaker 12: Let's let's face it. He couldn't sack almond pain or
- 41:06Speaker 12: payment should I say, from the Greens, sorry, from his
- 41:09Speaker 12: own party who's gone to the cross bench and he's
- 41:12Speaker 12: not going to do anything about these unions. Someone's got
- 41:15Speaker 12: to take I should take commissions.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Now jump in here, and I should jump in here
- 41:19Speaker 1: and say that the sea Bus, the c IFMU appointees
- 41:24Speaker 1: to the super funds, that they are like SeaBus. They're
- 41:29Speaker 1: not involved, they're not implicated. We're not suggesting for a
- 41:31Speaker 1: second that they're involved. But it's the union. It's the
- 41:34Speaker 1: some in the union itself down.
- 41:36Speaker 12: The line, given some of these people positions on their boards.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Andrew, Yeah, well, exactly right. They should have no right
- 41:44Speaker 1: to do that, absolutely none. I thought one lesson from
- 41:48Speaker 1: the Trump shoot. He was toned down the rhetoric. But
- 41:50Speaker 1: Senator Olivia Thorpe, a race Bata and pro Patasan activists.
- 41:53Speaker 1: She's just posted a picture of herself with a green
- 41:55Speaker 1: band on her hand with Arabic writing which actually says
- 41:58Speaker 1: I love chocolate milk. That writing is obviously different from
- 42:02Speaker 1: the writing on the headband of the mass terrorists. But
- 42:04Speaker 1: I'd be astonished she didn't pick out that same green
- 42:07Speaker 1: color deliberately to troll people. What do you make of that?
- 42:12Speaker 11: There's no question whatsoever, and no matter what it is,
- 42:16Speaker 11: the Senator Thorpe is angry about whether it's it's men,
- 42:19Speaker 11: or whether it's the colony, or whether it's now Israel.
- 42:24Speaker 11: The common thread is that she's just always angry. You know,
- 42:27Speaker 11: that's that's what we're talking about here, is someone who
- 42:29Speaker 11: has deep seated anger issues. Yeah, this is not a
- 42:32Speaker 11: sensible conversation.
- 42:34Speaker 1: I sit back with a couple, everything's going She's not
- 42:39Speaker 1: just angry, she's divisive and actually out of time, James.
- 42:43Speaker 1: But quick response from you because Pauline Hans has had
- 42:46Speaker 1: to deal with her.
- 42:49Speaker 12: Oh look, I thought she was supposed to represent the
- 42:51Speaker 12: Black Sovereign movement. She's had more to say on Palestine
- 42:55Speaker 12: than she has on the people she's supposed to represent
- 42:58Speaker 12: as part of this Black Sovereign But that's Ledia thought
- 43:01Speaker 12: for it. She'll always jump on the bandwagon of whatever's
- 43:04Speaker 12: hot in the news.
- 43:05Speaker 1: And very divisive every time. Garth Hamilton, James Ashby, thank
- 43:09Speaker 1: you for your time. After the Break, the ABC honestly
- 43:21Speaker 1: well to media watch. I'll tell you what The ABC.
- 43:25Speaker 1: The ABC, I mentioned this show last night on Monday,
- 43:30Speaker 1: had this incredible hit job on Donald Trump where they
- 43:36Speaker 1: absolutely butchered a quote, took it totally out of context
- 43:41Speaker 1: to make it seem like he was preaching an armed revolution,
- 43:46Speaker 1: blood in the streets if he wasn't elected in November.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Have a look at how it used the quote.
- 44:00Speaker 13: Now, if they don't get elected, it's going to be
- 44:02Speaker 13: a bloodbath in the COUNTRT.
- 44:03Speaker 9: I do worry there's a real group of American citizens
- 44:06Speaker 9: for are willing to engage in violence for Donald Trump.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Now, as I've shown you before, that is totally dishonest
- 44:15Speaker 1: because this four Corners report omitted all the context of
- 44:21Speaker 1: the full quote, which tells you and the agency lift
- 44:24Speaker 1: this out that Trump wasn't threatening violence if he wasn't elected.
- 44:27Speaker 1: He was talking about his plan to impose huge tariffs
- 44:31Speaker 1: on Chinese made cars and stop a bloodbath for the
- 44:35Speaker 1: US car industry.
- 44:38Speaker 13: Put a one hundred tower on every single car that
- 44:42Speaker 13: comes across the line, and you're not going to be
- 44:44Speaker 13: able to sell those guys if I get elected. Now,
- 44:47Speaker 13: if they don't get elected, it's going to be a bloodbath.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Joining me with Sophie Elsworth, media writer in the Australian newspaper, Sophie,
- 44:55Speaker 1: that is the most That was the very first bit
- 44:59Speaker 1: of ever of Trump dictator in this one hour show,
- 45:04Speaker 1: first of two parts, the very first bit of evidence
- 45:07Speaker 1: they use, and it was totally dishonest. In my opinion.
- 45:10Speaker 1: What did you make of it?
- 45:13Speaker 14: Well, I did watch four Corners on Monday night, Andrew,
- 45:17Speaker 14: and this is the beginning of the anti Trump material
- 45:22Speaker 14: content episodes that are going to be wheeled out by
- 45:26Speaker 14: the ABC. They are just warming up four or five
- 45:29Speaker 14: months out from the presidential election. They have an agenda
- 45:33Speaker 14: at the ABC, and this is where they let themselves down.
- 45:36Speaker 14: They show their true colors, which I believe they did
- 45:39Speaker 14: with the Voice campaign. They cannot help themselves when it
- 45:43Speaker 14: comes to federal elections.
- 45:45Speaker 5: We know they're left leaning.
- 45:46Speaker 14: Bias, and we know that they despise at the ABC
- 45:49Speaker 14: of Donald Trump, and we see this in their anti
- 45:52Speaker 14: Trump content. And also, Andrew, of the content that came
- 45:56Speaker 14: out on Sunday at the ABC, some of the radio
- 45:59Speaker 14: present is when that assassination attempt occurred basically said, oh look,
- 46:04Speaker 14: let's move on. You know this has happened, but we've
- 46:06Speaker 14: got other issues today to talk about. It was a
- 46:08Speaker 14: non event on Radio National and one of their most
- 46:13Speaker 14: important radio stations. So this is the beginning of the
- 46:16Speaker 14: anti Trump campaign that I believe the ABC will be running.
- 46:23Speaker 1: But it does at least I have some good news, Sophie.
- 46:27Speaker 1: It seems that some Donald Trump haters do have some shame.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Now we've talked. I've talked before about the Tenacious de
- 46:34Speaker 1: band of American comedian Jack Black, who starred, by the Way,
- 46:38Speaker 1: Jack Black a month ago at a massive Hollywood fundraise
- 46:41Speaker 1: for Joe Barden, but in Sydney gave a birthday cake
- 46:43Speaker 1: to a band member who wished that the next person
- 46:46Speaker 1: to try to assassinate Trump wouldn't miss. Here it is again.
- 46:51Speaker 5: Trump.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Now after that, Black has now canceled the rest of
- 47:00Speaker 1: the band's tour in Australia. He's put his future creative
- 47:03Speaker 1: plans on hold. He said the comments had blindsided him
- 47:06Speaker 1: and he didn't condone any hate speech. You could have
- 47:08Speaker 1: said that on the stage. The band member who said
- 47:11Speaker 1: that don't miss Trump has been dropped by his agent
- 47:14Speaker 1: and apologized. Does that give you some heart.
- 47:21Speaker 14: Well, Andrew, I think at that situation, which was pretty disgraceful,
- 47:25Speaker 14: may I say that they should have actually pointed out
- 47:29Speaker 14: this is a joke. They were trying to be funny,
- 47:31Speaker 14: and it is not a joke. It's very serious matter.
- 47:35Speaker 14: I don't believe in cancel culture. I don't think that's good,
- 47:38Speaker 14: and I do believe in free speech. However, there becomes
- 47:42Speaker 14: a line, and I think it was crossed in this
- 47:44Speaker 14: situation to try and make light of a pretty horrifying,
- 47:49Speaker 14: what could have been a catastrophic and fatal attack on
- 47:53Speaker 14: former President Donald Trump. So pretty disgraceful stuff in my view.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Andrew, Yeah, But worse I think, Sophie, for me, was
- 48:02Speaker 1: the audience. So many in the audience laughing with it.
- 48:08Speaker 14: I mean, that just shows how low society is today.
- 48:11Speaker 14: It doesn't matter which politician you like them or you
- 48:15Speaker 14: loathe them. You do not wish death upon anyone. That
- 48:18Speaker 14: is shocking. That should be condemned and it is not acceptable.
- 48:23Speaker 14: And I really think that's an embarrassment for our country
- 48:26Speaker 14: to show an audience that actually finds this humorous.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Well, I'm afraid that's where we are, Sophie, Sophie Elsworth,
- 48:34Speaker 1: thank you so much for your time. That's it from
- 48:37Speaker 1: me coming up next to Sharry, except this not really
- 48:40Speaker 1: because this host is my very good friend, Steve Price.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Good note
