We've talked about playground stuff before, but there's one thing we haven't covered. Luna: Oh, what's that? Lucas: The slide. In Spanish, it's el tobogán. Luna: El tobogán. That sounds kind of fun to say. Lucas: Totally. El tobogán. Let's say it together. Luna: El tobogán. Lucas: El tobogán. Luna: El tobogán. Okay, I think I've got it. Lucas: Nice. Now, what do you do with a slide? You go down it. So the phrase is bajar por el tobogán. Luna: Bajar por el tobogán. To go down the slide. Lucas: Exactly. Bajar means 'to go down', por means 'through' or 'along', so literally 'go down through the slide'. Let's hear you say it. Luna: Bajar por el tobogán. Lucas: Perfect. And if you want to say the slide is fun, you say El tobogán es divertido. Luna: El tobogán es divertido. The slide is fun. Lucas: Right. Divertido means fun. Let's practice those three phrases again. Luna: El tobogán. Bajar por el tobogán. El tobogán es divertido. Lucas: You're a natural. Now imagine we're at the park and you see a kid going down the slide. You could say Mira, el niño baja por el tobogán. Luna: Mira, el niño baja por el tobogán. Look, the kid goes down the slide. Lucas: Yeah. Or if you're the one sliding, you could say Yo bajo por el tobogán. Luna: Yo bajo por el tobogán. I go down the slide. Lucas: And if it's really fun, you say El tobogán es muy divertido. Luna: El tobogán es muy divertido. The slide is very fun. Lucas: You're picking it up fast. So let's review all three phrases one more time: el tobogán, bajar por el tobogán, el tobogán es divertido.
