- 2:52Speaker 5: g Good morning, how are you?
- 2:54Speaker 6: Good morning? And I'm a little nervous from Friday the thirteen.
- 2:57Speaker 5: I thought you're a little nervous because Tony the Taylor
- 2:59Speaker 5: is on the air. Was that what it was?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:02Speaker 1: That was it?
- 3:03Speaker 5: Actually, are you back from New Jersey last week? We
- 3:05Speaker 5: talked to you. You were in Jersey.
- 3:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I actually came home last Friday. We got back
- 3:10Speaker 6: to West Virginia at about like seven thirty long trips.
- 3:15Speaker 5: And you were telling me about the bagels up there,
- 3:18Speaker 5: because I always, well, we'll get to the animal the moment,
- 3:20Speaker 5: but I asked you about the food and you said
- 3:21Speaker 5: you had some killer bagels up there, right, Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 6: We did. I don't know what New Jersey puts in
- 3:26Speaker 6: those bagels that they are so much different than anyone
- 3:29Speaker 6: you'll find anywhere else.
- 3:30Speaker 5: But Tony, I know you spent some time in New
- 3:33Speaker 5: Jersey jail, but so Philly. But if one goes to
- 3:40Speaker 5: you you being Italian at all, I mean parentzy, you
- 3:42Speaker 5: know you're not exactly Irish. So you go to Jersey.
- 3:46Speaker 5: They're known for their pizza joints. I know that what
- 3:49Speaker 5: else Jersey It.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Depends what part of Jersey, North Jersey. What part of
- 3:52Speaker 3: Jersey were you in?
- 3:52Speaker 5: And south? Are we you in South or North?
- 3:56Speaker 6: We were in Middletown, New Jersey, which you can actually
- 3:59Speaker 6: at the beach up there you can see the New
- 4:00Speaker 6: York City skyline.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Okay, beach North Jersey.
- 4:04Speaker 3: All right, North Jerry. What do we eat when you
- 4:06Speaker 3: go to North Jersey? Tony bagels and pizza?
- 4:08Speaker 5: Okay?
- 4:09Speaker 3: Also think hoping you give me a little bit more detailed. Well,
- 4:12Speaker 3: I mean that's fantastic. I mean again, you're right of
- 4:14Speaker 3: New York. It's just like going across the river from
- 4:16Speaker 3: Charleston to South Charleston. Okay, same, a bunch of tallies, Okay,
- 4:21Speaker 3: with great food. He can say that because he is Italian.
- 4:24Speaker 3: All right, let's get to our doctu. Please better the
- 4:26Speaker 3: week as always.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Picture posted on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook at Dave
- 4:30Speaker 5: A seventy on axent the w c HS network Facebook page.
- 4:33Speaker 5: It's doctor Robbie. I'm sure there's a story about the
- 4:37Speaker 5: name Angie, because there always is doctor Robbie.
- 4:40Speaker 6: So doctor Robbie is named is the main character on
- 4:44Speaker 6: the TV show on hbo X called The Pit. So
- 4:48Speaker 6: this is doctor Robbie and how this little chaos grimlin
- 4:51Speaker 6: obtained the medical license? I do not know.
- 4:53Speaker 2: But you know that show The Pit.
- 4:56Speaker 5: I have actually watched a couple of episodes. It's actually
- 4:59Speaker 5: really good. Noah while is in it. It was up
- 5:00Speaker 5: for a bunch of Emmys. I think it's actually a
- 5:03Speaker 5: pretty pretty good show. I mean, I have to say
- 5:05Speaker 5: that it is. All right, so doctor Robbie and you
- 5:07Speaker 5: called him on a chaos grim one.
- 5:09Speaker 6: Yes, yes, I can say that because I'm his foster mom.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Okay, all right, tell us about doctor Robbie.
- 5:15Speaker 6: So doctor Robbie actually came to the shelter. He was
- 5:18Speaker 6: attacked by another dog and had a traumatic brain injury,
- 5:22Speaker 6: and I was like, you know what, I'll foster him.
- 5:24Speaker 6: He's completely healed from that now he has no you know,
- 5:27Speaker 6: long term effects from that. But he is a puppy.
- 5:31Speaker 6: He loves to explore the world with his mouth. He's
- 5:34Speaker 6: really in his chewing era right now and stealing slippers era,
- 5:38Speaker 6: but we're working on that until he gets adopted. He's
- 5:41Speaker 6: about two months old. He got neutered yesterday and is
- 5:44Speaker 6: up to date on vaccines. And also I have a
- 5:48Speaker 6: really big dog, a smaller dog and a lot of cats,
- 5:51Speaker 6: and he does perfect with all of them. Kids, I
- 5:54Speaker 6: cannot speak to but I'm sure if you can get
- 5:57Speaker 6: past the mouth he play, he would be perfect.
- 5:59Speaker 7: Kids.
- 6:00Speaker 5: He's a beautiful dog, little lab maybe.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Uh so, he's actually he's fifteen pounds at two months old.
- 6:07Speaker 6: And I did a puppy weight calculator and it said
- 6:10Speaker 6: that he'd probably topple out to be like an eighty
- 6:12Speaker 6: two one hundred pound dog. Oh so yeah, worth I
- 6:17Speaker 6: Google told me, you know how you can reverse image search.
- 6:20Speaker 6: Google says that he looks like a King Corso mix.
- 6:22Speaker 6: Don't know if that's true, but he's definitely going to
- 6:25Speaker 6: be a big dog.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Definitely going to be a big Sure is cute his
- 6:28Speaker 3: eyes to say, take me home? Yeah, you need picture
- 6:31Speaker 3: since you need.
- 6:32Speaker 5: A watchdog down there for your shop, Tony, Yes, exactly
- 6:35Speaker 5: what No, No, you've actually got a watch dog. I've
- 6:37Speaker 5: seen her in the back. That's your that two handles
- 6:41Speaker 5: things at your shop. All right, So doctor Robbie's picture
- 6:44Speaker 5: posted Dave Island Radio on Facebook, the WCHS Network Facebook
- 6:47Speaker 5: page and also at Dave a seventy on acts. Beautiful
- 6:50Speaker 5: beautiful dog. All right, Texas and tails coming up quickly.
- 6:54Speaker 5: April twenty fifth, seven o'clock JQ Dickets and Saltworks in
- 6:56Speaker 5: Malden Howard tickets going.
- 7:00Speaker 6: There are very very few tickets left, so if if
- 7:03Speaker 6: you want them to get them, it seems like each
- 7:05Speaker 6: week I'll do this show and then like another way,
- 7:07Speaker 6: the tickets goes away.
- 7:09Speaker 5: So well, that might ought to tell you something right there, right,
- 7:11Speaker 5: you know, maybe people are listening to the show.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Maybe uh yeah, and listening to me for once. That's good.
- 7:19Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:19Speaker 5: We had a text here about doctor Robbie said, is
- 7:23Speaker 5: he fearful or apprehensive of other dogs that are like
- 7:26Speaker 5: the one that attacked him?
- 7:28Speaker 6: So he is not. Unsurprisingly, he's kind of like put
- 7:32Speaker 6: all of that behind him by one dog is literally
- 7:35Speaker 6: one hundred town Saint Bernard. He's very overbearing as well,
- 7:38Speaker 6: like he does not realize how big he is. Doctor
- 7:41Speaker 6: Robbie literally keeps up with him, puts him in his place.
- 7:45Speaker 6: Like you'll see doctor Robbie will just climb all over
- 7:48Speaker 6: him and play with him. So he doesn't seem to
- 7:51Speaker 6: me like he'd be fearful of any other dogs, even
- 7:53Speaker 6: though he was attacked by one.
- 7:54Speaker 5: All right, appreciate the text, all right, So you had
- 7:57Speaker 5: a really good story this week Angie, the longest resident
- 8:00Speaker 5: at the shelter finally got adopted. His name was Curly.
- 8:04Speaker 5: He'd been there for I think like a year and
- 8:06Speaker 5: a half or so, and he got adopted this week.
- 8:10Speaker 6: He did so. Curly has went to Foster Holmes before,
- 8:13Speaker 6: and each foster has told us the same thing of like,
- 8:16Speaker 6: Curly wants to be outside. He really doesn't like other animals.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Like it was the same thing over and over. So
- 8:22Speaker 6: we're looking for a home for Curly that had no kids,
- 8:26Speaker 6: no other pets, and mainly you know, it was an
- 8:28Speaker 6: outside type of home. And by some miracle, this family
- 8:32Speaker 6: yesterday fell right into our lap that lived on a
- 8:35Speaker 6: huge farm with no animals on it. They don't have
- 8:37Speaker 6: kids or other pets. So it was truly just like
- 8:41Speaker 6: a one in a million chants that they were just
- 8:44Speaker 6: right there for Curly.
- 8:45Speaker 5: And that's a perfect story. That's like, and we say
- 8:48Speaker 5: this every week. Please if you're looking to adopt a
- 8:52Speaker 5: dog or cat or whatever, please consider getting an older one,
- 8:55Speaker 5: especially Curly's story. Because we featured Curly on this segment
- 8:57Speaker 5: before Angie, and he'd been there as I said, for
- 8:59Speaker 5: over a year and a half. And anytime I see
- 9:03Speaker 5: on your on your page that you got a long
- 9:05Speaker 5: term resident they're adopted out. That's a good day.
- 9:09Speaker 6: It always is, especially you know you see you see
- 9:12Speaker 6: them every day for you know, a year and a half,
- 9:15Speaker 6: two years, so they kind to become your pet in
- 9:17Speaker 6: a way as well, your work pet, if you will.
- 9:19Speaker 6: So it's it's always nice for those ones that have
- 9:22Speaker 6: been waiting for so long to have that perfect family
- 9:24Speaker 6: come right through the door for them.
- 9:25Speaker 5: All right, you guys out and about anywhere this weekend.
- 9:29Speaker 6: We're not this weekend. Yeah, I don't think anything next
- 9:33Speaker 6: week either.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Okay, Well you're getting ready for tuxes and tails and
- 9:36Speaker 5: this is going to be of course, you got this.
- 9:37Speaker 5: You got kitten season going on right now too, right, Oh.
- 9:41Speaker 6: My goodness, yes we do. And they are starting to
- 9:43Speaker 6: come in very quickly.
- 9:44Speaker 5: All right. If you had to put a ballpark on
- 9:47Speaker 5: how many kittens you had to just ballpark figure, what
- 9:49Speaker 5: would you say?
- 9:50Speaker 6: Currently? I would say we probably have close to forty
- 9:53Speaker 6: or so in foster care that are too small to
- 9:56Speaker 6: be adopted at this point. And then as far as
- 9:58Speaker 6: available cats go, are probably close to twenty in the
- 10:03Speaker 6: cat room. And that's also including ones that are you know,
- 10:06Speaker 6: undergoing medical treatment or X y Z before they can
- 10:09Speaker 6: be adopted. So right now we're looking at about sixty some.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Cat All right, what are you in need of as
- 10:13Speaker 5: far as supplies go? I mean, we have the basics
- 10:15Speaker 5: every week, but is there anything in particular that you're
- 10:17Speaker 5: in need of?
- 10:19Speaker 6: So wet dog suit is a big need right now.
- 10:21Speaker 6: We're not ticky about brands. We're in need of purring
- 10:24Speaker 6: a dog chow, and then the other one is puppy
- 10:26Speaker 6: and kitten formula of any brand. We're just trying to
- 10:29Speaker 6: prepare for those orphans that are coming in without moms
- 10:32Speaker 6: to take care of them.
- 10:33Speaker 5: And of course Steve Animal gets on me every week.
- 10:36Speaker 5: His cause is Stubby, you know the dog that everybody's
- 10:42Speaker 5: told Stubbies. We told this story for the last couple
- 10:44Speaker 5: of months. This was a dog and it was dropped
- 10:46Speaker 5: off at the shelter and he was abused, shot, thrown
- 10:51Speaker 5: out of a car. You know, we've tried still trying
- 10:52Speaker 5: to figure out exactly what's going on. Steve ask me
- 10:54Speaker 5: every week, ask Angie, do we have any updates on Stubby?
- 10:59Speaker 6: So so I'll say you I have this week is
- 11:00Speaker 6: not really like the one everybody wants to hear, but
- 11:04Speaker 6: it is one we've kind of hit a dead end
- 11:07Speaker 6: portion of the investigation, if you will. The lead of
- 11:13Speaker 6: the owner of stubs came forward and claimed that he
- 11:15Speaker 6: was stolen from her and had information of who stole him.
- 11:20Speaker 6: That information of the person who stole him is kind
- 11:23Speaker 6: of just there's nowhere to go from here because we
- 11:27Speaker 6: cannot find this person anywhere. So we have some breadcrumbs,
- 11:32Speaker 6: but just nothing to do with the breadcrumbs at this moment.
- 11:35Speaker 5: All right, I got another chext here for you. It says,
- 11:38Speaker 5: are there any services you can take cans in the
- 11:41Speaker 5: neighborhood'stras to get spade or neotered?
- 11:45Speaker 6: So in our shelter system, we currently don't have that
- 11:48Speaker 6: system or that program available because Fix Charleston, which is
- 11:53Speaker 6: our Spain hooter clinic, is closed temporarily. But the Fixum
- 11:57Speaker 6: clinic which is right down the road from us, have
- 12:00Speaker 6: a T and R program that sense for Trap nooter release.
- 12:04Speaker 6: You bring the cat in a trap, it gets neutered
- 12:07Speaker 6: or stayed vaccinated, and then you take it back and
- 12:10Speaker 6: release it into your community. So contact the Fix the
- 12:13Speaker 6: clinic for their tn R program standards and protocols.
- 12:18Speaker 5: All right, now, is that the one that my good
- 12:20Speaker 5: friend Porter Wagner is a part of. Is that the
- 12:22Speaker 5: Fix some clinic?
- 12:24Speaker 6: No, okay is artually affiliated with Pick of the Litter.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Okay, I'm sorry. I get a mixed up porters on
- 12:30Speaker 5: the show from time to time. I know he used
- 12:32Speaker 5: to work and it still works a lot with you guys.
- 12:33Speaker 5: All right, I hope that answered that textras question. Hey Angie,
- 12:36Speaker 5: we'll talk to you next week. Thanks a lot.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Sounds good. Have a good one, all right.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Doctor Robbie. Mister Parentzino is our is our dog of
- 12:45Speaker 5: the week, Our pet of the week, two months old,
- 12:47Speaker 5: vaccinated neuter, gets along well with other dogs and cats.
- 12:51Speaker 5: Was attacked when he was younger by another dog. Seems
- 12:54Speaker 5: to have recovered from that. Make a great pet for somebody.
- 12:57Speaker 3: He sure is cute. He reminds me of an old
- 12:59Speaker 3: dog Black.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Well, maybe you could have a new dog Jack. Maybe
- 13:03Speaker 5: all right, hell, oh we go.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Maybe he's an opening we.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Got all right, and he does? You have other pets,
- 13:08Speaker 5: don't you currently?
- 13:09Speaker 8: No?
- 13:09Speaker 5: Over there you go, there you go. Well, if he can,
- 13:13Speaker 5: if he can, live with you. You can live with him,
- 13:16Speaker 5: all right. I appreciate answer for being here again. Doctor
- 13:20Speaker 5: Robbie's picture posted Dave Alond Radio and Facebook at Dave
- 13:23Speaker 5: A seventy on Axent, also the WHS network page as well.
- 13:27Speaker 5: Jack says, it's so aggravating. Someone knows something about what
- 13:30Speaker 5: happened to Stubbs. Come forward, please, says a text. All right,
- 13:34Speaker 5: we're gonna take a break. The wind is going to
- 13:36Speaker 5: be a big, big deal today. I mean a big deal.
- 13:39Speaker 5: It's like I was talking to meteorologist Brian Hughes upstairs,
- 13:42Speaker 5: and I think his line was, if you don't like
- 13:44Speaker 5: the trash, can you have now, just wait till about
- 13:47Speaker 5: four or five o'clock because another one's going to be
- 13:49Speaker 5: in your yard. So maybe you'll like that one a
- 13:51Speaker 5: little bit better. So working with Brian, if he gets
- 13:53Speaker 5: an opportunity, he's going to come down and talk to
- 13:55Speaker 5: us about that. It is the closing twenty four hours
- 13:58Speaker 5: and some for the legislature. Meadows and Wilson actually doing
- 14:03Speaker 5: the show in studio here in Charleston today, so they're
- 14:05Speaker 5: going to join us a little bit later on more
- 14:07Speaker 5: on Tomor's Green Chili shoot out and when we come back,
- 14:11Speaker 5: We're going to talk Pepperoni, rolls and other stuff with

- 16:43Speaker 5: generation Generations forward seed Dealer for details. Tony the Taylor
- 16:47Speaker 5: is hanging out with us today and I asked TJ
- 16:49Speaker 5: Meadows who was rump And by the way, TJ and
- 16:52Speaker 5: I are matching today. We are wearing our matching Metro
- 16:54Speaker 5: News gear here.
- 16:55Speaker 3: He's one of those Metro News all.
- 16:57Speaker 5: Right, we'll work on that for you. We'll work on that,
- 17:00Speaker 5: all right. So the reason I brought Tony in today,
- 17:02Speaker 5: other than the normal hilarity, was this discussion about Pepperoni
- 17:07Speaker 5: rolls okay under the dome and with everything that's gone on,
- 17:11Speaker 5: I'm following you on X what was it Wednesday night
- 17:14Speaker 5: when all this was going down, When they were going back.
- 17:15Speaker 7: And forth about Wednesday afternoon Wednesday night, Credos and all
- 17:18Speaker 7: this other stuff.
- 17:19Speaker 5: That's why I have Tony here, but I wanted you
- 17:21Speaker 5: to set up what was the discussion about pepperoni roles.
- 17:23Speaker 7: So what happened was the food Dive Bill is back,
- 17:26Speaker 7: and the reason it's back they're running it because federal
- 17:30Speaker 7: court Judge Irene Berger basically suspended the law because she
- 17:34Speaker 7: has issues with it, found it to be lacking. That
- 17:36Speaker 7: case will continue. What the legislature is trying to do
- 17:39Speaker 7: is trying to go back, revisit the law and address
- 17:40Speaker 7: those issues. But it opens everything up. So there were
- 17:44Speaker 7: amendments and exemptions made in Senate Judiciary to try to
- 17:50Speaker 7: get certain foods exempted. Pepperoni rolls came up because Senator
- 17:53Speaker 7: Joey Garcia took a look at his two favorite brand
- 17:57Speaker 7: of pepperoni roles. I'm not sure what those are, but
- 17:59Speaker 7: apparently used the ingredients that would be banned under this law.
- 18:02Speaker 7: So he tried to make an amendment to exempt pepperoni rolls.
- 18:06Speaker 1: It failed.
- 18:07Speaker 7: By the way, it failed, and so that's that's part
- 18:11Speaker 7: of the talk, and I guess that's how we got
- 18:12Speaker 7: here the campaign right now, Well.
- 18:16Speaker 5: We talked about that because in all seriousness, a lot
- 18:20Speaker 5: of the things that have come out of this session.
- 18:21Speaker 5: I'm going to turn right back around.
- 18:23Speaker 7: I think it. So they did division, right, because cher
- 18:27Speaker 7: Willis couldn't tell by a voice vote. These guys always
- 18:29Speaker 7: want to do a voice vote because then it's not
- 18:31Speaker 7: on records, on record. So he called division, which will
- 18:34Speaker 7: also not be on record because it's not a roll call.
- 18:36Speaker 7: But there were sixty people in that room. Trust me,
- 18:40Speaker 7: someone was taken down the note who had the hand
- 18:43Speaker 7: up and who did not have the hand up?
- 18:45Speaker 5: So there you go, all right, So that leads me
- 18:48Speaker 5: to you, Tony. You have among you. You have opinions,
- 18:53Speaker 5: opinion imagine that most of them are wrong, but one
- 18:56Speaker 5: of those are about pepperoni roll right, And I defer
- 19:00Speaker 5: to anybody whose last name is peran Zeno when it
- 19:02Speaker 5: comes to discussion about pepperoni roles. Now that, of course,
- 19:05Speaker 5: the history of the pepperoni roll you know, I mean everybody,
- 19:08Speaker 5: this is a West Virginia thing, I mean, you know,
- 19:10Speaker 5: and as far as the United States goes, it came
- 19:11Speaker 5: from other places. But basically miners needed food that that
- 19:15Speaker 5: wouldn't spoil.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Yeah, most miners in the Clarksburg area and Fairmount area
- 19:21Speaker 3: were are still Italian. They were brought in to mine
- 19:26Speaker 3: because that was the labor force back then for low wages.
- 19:30Speaker 3: And so the women would make pepperonid and bread and
- 19:35Speaker 3: put it in their bucket because you could eat it
- 19:38Speaker 3: without open flame. Easy to make, and again most were
- 19:43Speaker 3: port and you make your own pepperoni at home without
- 19:46Speaker 3: food dye, because I don't think I even had food
- 19:49Speaker 3: die back then. But and that's what started. And Country
- 19:53Speaker 3: Club Bakery is the founder, you know, of the large
- 19:57Speaker 3: scale pepperoni roll to be sold publicly in Fairmont. Fairmont
- 20:04Speaker 3: is still there, same spot stick pepperoni and a pillow
- 20:07Speaker 3: soft bread. Fantastic. Some people we have an argument about
- 20:13Speaker 3: sticks versus slices. I'm an originalist, like the Constitution, it's sticks, okay,
- 20:19Speaker 3: it's but it's not slices. However, okay, however, nothing wrong
- 20:24Speaker 3: with slice. Not saying that's terrible because that's slices.
- 20:27Speaker 5: It's pepperoni. It's pepperoni, right.
- 20:29Speaker 3: And I had a lady Bretta with rolling in the
- 20:32Speaker 3: South pepperoni roll. She makes them here in Charleston, bring
- 20:36Speaker 3: me a fantastic pepperoni roll yesterday after she saw my
- 20:40Speaker 3: Facebook post about you can't introduce cheese or peppers or
- 20:44Speaker 3: anything else into a Pepperoni roll, because then it becomes
- 20:47Speaker 3: a strong bowli, which was invented in Philadelphia by the
- 20:51Speaker 3: wives of shipyard workers who were Italian to send to
- 20:55Speaker 3: their lunch buckets. And it was pepperoni with cheese in
- 20:58Speaker 3: it and or peppers with a dippy sauce on the side.
- 21:01Speaker 3: That makes it a stromboli, not a Pepperoni roll. And
- 21:04Speaker 3: that's where we start getting to Argumentoually, I can't believe
- 21:08Speaker 3: you don't. I said, I decidedn't like it. It tastes delicious.
- 21:10Speaker 3: And however, you can't call it a pepperoni roll.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Okay.
- 21:13Speaker 3: If it has cheese, it is not a pepperoni stromboli.
- 21:16Speaker 3: It's a stromboli.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Okay. What's the difference between it and I like them both?
- 21:20Speaker 5: What's the different between stromboli and the cow zone shape? Okay?
- 21:24Speaker 3: Just okay, mostly shape the calzone? You know cow zones
- 21:28Speaker 3: are half moons, okay, and which kind of translates to
- 21:31Speaker 3: cal zone.
- 21:32Speaker 5: I got it.
- 21:32Speaker 3: It's just pizza bread and they put in the oven, okay.
- 21:35Speaker 10: See.
- 21:35Speaker 5: And and you said the bread has to be pillow
- 21:38Speaker 5: soft in your opinion.
- 21:40Speaker 3: In my opinion, and then pretty much everybody else's opinion
- 21:42Speaker 3: because you don't want a crunchy roll with with the Pepperoni's.
- 21:46Speaker 3: It's so it had to be soft. And bread in
- 21:48Speaker 3: West Virginia is generally Italian breads are generally softer here.
- 21:51Speaker 3: The farther north you go into Jersey, Philadelphian area, it's
- 21:54Speaker 3: a hard crust rolling. Uh. You know, proper steak sandwiches
- 21:59Speaker 3: and proper Italian sausagems are made with a hard crust
- 22:02Speaker 3: roll with a dough center. That's that's key. You can
- 22:05Speaker 3: have a soft roll on those, but you need a
- 22:06Speaker 3: soft roll with pepperoni.
- 22:08Speaker 5: Okay, I ain't. And as soon as I hear that
- 22:10Speaker 5: term you talk about Jersey, I think of James Brown
- 22:12Speaker 5: living in America, you know, with with the with the
- 22:15Speaker 5: line with a with a hard roll. They're talking about
- 22:18Speaker 5: that now. Shout out to my hometown Logan. A new
- 22:22Speaker 5: era of bakery that's been opened since the nineteen early
- 22:24Speaker 5: nineteen thirties, I think late late twenties and early thirties.
- 22:28Speaker 5: They sell a bunch of pepperoni rolls. Okay, but they
- 22:31Speaker 5: are they go against everything that you say. It's a
- 22:34Speaker 5: hard bread. You can get them with or without cheese.
- 22:39Speaker 5: But here's the thing about it. And if this is
- 22:42Speaker 5: mainly a northern West Virginia thing, as you said that
- 22:45Speaker 5: that went south, Okay, it's above the slaw line, above them.
- 22:49Speaker 5: We've talked about the slaw line before anything north of
- 22:51Speaker 5: basically Parkersburg. They don't put slaw on hotdogs. They're godless communists,
- 22:56Speaker 5: all right, so so, but but they do a bit
- 23:00Speaker 5: differently done, but they're still good. They're just not, in
- 23:02Speaker 5: your opinion, just not traditional.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Just don't call them pepperoni rolls now. But I've had
- 23:07Speaker 3: the new era when I don't cossarily that hard bread.
- 23:09Speaker 3: It's pretty soft. Maybe I just got through a bad day,
- 23:13Speaker 3: maybe about the day old ones on safe.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Maybe I justwave suddenly it's penicillin. Uh. Texas, And talking
- 23:21Speaker 5: about New York and New Jersey, I'm curious, are there
- 23:23Speaker 5: any restaurants in either state that have discovered our pepperoni
- 23:27Speaker 5: rolls and started selling them in their restaurants? They call
- 23:30Speaker 5: it stromboli, Okay, but they don't sell pepperoni rolls. No,
- 23:35Speaker 5: they don't. Okay. Now, there are several restaurants here in
- 23:38Speaker 5: the valley that sell versions of pepperoni rolls. I'll give
- 23:42Speaker 5: a big shout out to my man Chris at the bucket.
- 23:44Speaker 5: They do some fantastic pepperoni. I don't know they to you.
- 23:47Speaker 5: They may not be pepperoni rolls, but they do some
- 23:50Speaker 5: great ones. Fireside fireside grills are really good, very good. Uh,
- 23:56Speaker 5: there's several places of Grasiano's. Okay, you know, but again
- 24:01Speaker 5: Stromboli okay, misnomered. Just they're still because this West Virginia
- 24:05Speaker 5: called pepperoni. So let me throw this down.
- 24:07Speaker 3: See how you feel about.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Okay, we're tackling all the big issues.
- 24:11Speaker 3: These are important issues forget public education, public I mean, this.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Should be the Golden horseshoe exam.
- 24:19Speaker 7: It should it should be. If it's not already my
- 24:23Speaker 7: belief preference. It has to be cold, you heat it up,
- 24:28Speaker 7: it's something else.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I agree.
- 24:31Speaker 5: I agree, because there was no question that was the
- 24:32Speaker 5: whole purpose of the movie.
- 24:33Speaker 3: But you couldn't it.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And I'll put it in the microwave for time.
- 24:36Speaker 3: No, No, I'm that to soften the bread for him.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's got to be room temp.
- 24:42Speaker 5: I mean not frozen, but but.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Not not right right cold. I mean it's just room temperature.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Talk about godless communists.
- 24:49Speaker 3: And that's why well, and because why pepperoni. You know
- 24:52Speaker 3: when when we when I was growing up in eastand uh,
- 24:56Speaker 3: we had neighbors and we make salamis and pepperoni's and
- 24:59Speaker 3: basically you hung them from the garage rafters to cure nice.
- 25:03Speaker 5: So that's why you don't need refrigeration. Yeah, that's the
- 25:05Speaker 5: way it happened. That's way it rolled. That's the way
- 25:06Speaker 5: they rolled it. And Tony still does that. You still
- 25:09Speaker 5: drive through Tony Tony's neighborhood and there may be something
- 25:11Speaker 5: hanging off.
- 25:12Speaker 3: The somebody's salami.
- 25:15Speaker 5: I don't know exactly what it is. Uh, we're talking
- 25:18Speaker 5: to Tony the Tailor and TJ. I appreciate your inside.
- 25:20Speaker 5: I know you have a show to get ready for it.
- 25:21Speaker 5: But if you want to sit here and talk about
- 25:22Speaker 5: pepperoni rolls with us, you're more than welcome to.
- 25:25Speaker 7: I'll be honest with you. I could use a break
- 25:26Speaker 7: from politics. I don't need to talk. I'm just gonna say.
- 25:28Speaker 7: But Wilson's in the building too, so carry the show.
- 25:32Speaker 3: But I would like to give a shout to Christianne's Bakery,
- 25:34Speaker 3: who keeps it real locally with authentic Pepperoni rolls. Okay,
- 25:40Speaker 3: they are the best their stick. I think she only
- 25:42Speaker 3: sells the retail at Purple the Purple Onion Capital Market.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Then every now and then she'll set up a bread
- 25:49Speaker 3: shed on Saturday and Bridge as well. She calls it
- 25:51Speaker 3: about her bakery on the Capitol mark A fart of
- 25:53Speaker 3: my stomach is that? And sh right the bread shed
- 25:56Speaker 3: and she has fantastic which also has great cinnamon rolls
- 25:59Speaker 3: and all kinds of stuff. But she makes the bread
- 26:01Speaker 3: for most of the restaurants here in Charleston.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Who does the bread over at east Mpub for their
- 26:05Speaker 5: hot dogs?
- 26:06Speaker 3: That I am not sure who does?
- 26:08Speaker 12: Is am?
- 26:09Speaker 5: I've always said with the big shout out to the
- 26:11Speaker 5: folks at Easton Eastern Pub, best hot.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Dogs in Charleston and one of the greatest, not even
- 26:17Speaker 3: places nobody knows about that it's fantastic food. Mike Brooks
- 26:21Speaker 3: I went to high school with Mike. They've just done
- 26:24Speaker 3: a wonderful job.
- 26:25Speaker 7: Can I ask you one more question? Sorry, I'm as
- 26:30Speaker 7: I'm sorry. Hot dogs English bun or plan bun.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I'm a plain bun. Yeah, I'm got a plane bun bun.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I'm a plain bun. I'm a traditional chili, slaw mustard onions.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I'm still was born south of the slaw line.
- 26:45Speaker 5: Yeah, you see. Now when it comes to hot dogs,
- 26:49Speaker 5: I don't think that hot dogs necessarily have to have slaw.
- 26:52Speaker 5: The best hot dogs in the world. And I'll die
- 26:54Speaker 5: in this hill outside Charleston, Morrison driving and logan, Oh no, no,
- 26:58Speaker 5: no question and Morrison drive in simply the best. Shout
- 27:00Speaker 5: out Jay Mayhorn there as chicken in the box and
- 27:03Speaker 5: then you can get the chicken in the box there,
- 27:04Speaker 5: and you can also get gizzards there, and you can
- 27:07Speaker 5: have a beerd delivered to your car on curb service,
- 27:10Speaker 5: which I think is not legal, but that's okay, you.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Know, long as slogan.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Yeah, every land of my people. But I will say this,
- 27:19Speaker 5: their hot dogs don't need slaw on them. And I
- 27:21Speaker 5: don't get slaw on the hot dogs at Morrisons because
- 27:23Speaker 5: the sauce the chili is so good the slaw would
- 27:27Speaker 5: just take away from it. So I don't you know,
- 27:30Speaker 5: they're the best hot dogs.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Janets is not too so owned by No I'm sorry
- 27:34Speaker 3: they bought they didn't buy Morrisons. At one time.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Mayhorn family owned Morrisons, Janets and Parkway at one time
- 27:41Speaker 5: they still own Parkway, got named Kevin Moore actually owns Janis.
- 27:45Speaker 3: I mean he used to be able to get a
- 27:46Speaker 3: bag of hot dogs, six hot dogs for like five bucks.
- 27:49Speaker 5: I remember when they were six hot dogs for a
- 27:51Speaker 5: buck ninety nine. That's Tex says. The best ever pepperoni
- 27:56Speaker 5: rolls came from the City Bakery and Logan. The Noletti
- 27:58Speaker 5: family owned it. The bread was butter, he's soft with
- 28:00Speaker 5: chunks of pepperoni. They were pretty good. They were pretty
- 28:03Speaker 5: of course, the owner of that, he's retired and it's
- 28:06Speaker 5: that's actually fun fact that was the first location of
- 28:09Speaker 5: Rock City was inside City Bakery. They actually took it
- 28:12Speaker 5: over at one point before they moved to Charleston. But yeah,
- 28:15Speaker 5: and Sarah Fioeletti's been mayor of Logan forever, I mean
- 28:18Speaker 5: like well over twenty years, and his family owned City Bakery,
- 28:22Speaker 5: which was absolutely and I say this growing up, we
- 28:26Speaker 5: had absolutely two of the best bakries in the world
- 28:28Speaker 5: in Logan in City in New Era. They worked together.
- 28:31Speaker 5: I mean, like you know, if you try to go
- 28:33Speaker 5: get a wedding cake or birthday cake at one they'd say, hey,
- 28:35Speaker 5: we can't do it. Go down Sea City. You know
- 28:37Speaker 5: they work together. A new era is still open and
- 28:39Speaker 5: still doing pretty well. Texas Pepperoni sticks or slices in
- 28:44Speaker 5: the role you covered that, but they may have just
- 28:45Speaker 5: tuned in. Yeah, sticks, no slices, Sticks, no slices, Texays.
- 28:50Speaker 5: The old Bullwinkle at Plaza East had awesome hot dogs.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Yes they did. I used to eat there from when
- 28:56Speaker 3: I went to Roosevelt Junior High.
- 28:58Speaker 5: Okay, Texas. Who makes the best pepperoni rolls in Charleston
- 29:01Speaker 5: other than homemade Christianne's Bakery? Okay, and that's the one
- 29:05Speaker 5: you said disavailable at that Purple Onion and Purple Onion
- 29:08Speaker 5: Capital now now.
- 29:08Speaker 3: But I got to give a shout out to if
- 29:10Speaker 3: you like slices, and I'm saying I don't like. I
- 29:13Speaker 3: wouldn't eat it. I mean, I'm not saying this is bad.
- 29:15Speaker 3: As of slices is the rolling in the South? Now.
- 29:18Speaker 3: She's a home baker, sells and you can probably Shift's
- 29:21Speaker 3: Facebook page. Bread of there. She brought me some yesterday
- 29:23Speaker 3: at the store and on the other side of her
- 29:26Speaker 3: car had chocolate chip cookies, but I couldn't find them
- 29:28Speaker 3: in the bag.
- 29:29Speaker 5: I don't know what happened there Ryan, Ryan Sa, Ryan Sta,
- 29:33Speaker 5: Where are you?
- 29:34Speaker 3: Man?
- 29:34Speaker 5: It's funny because I told not you, not producer Ryan,
- 29:37Speaker 5: about your Ryan not our right here? He asked if
- 29:40Speaker 5: you were bringing Pepperoni rolls in, So I'm gonna tell
- 29:42Speaker 5: him no, he ate them?
- 29:43Speaker 3: Yeah, all gone?
- 29:44Speaker 5: Well, there there you go, Ryan Nicholson. I Ryan Nicholson,
- 29:47Speaker 5: twenty three minutes away from tick. Can you hang out?
- 29:49Speaker 5: I know you got south to do?
- 29:50Speaker 3: We can you hang out? Moves and I'm good.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Ryan's in charge down there, twenty three minutes away from ten.
- 29:58Speaker 5: Do have some other things we want to talk to
- 29:59Speaker 5: Tony about. Plus we're gonna check on Brian Hughes. He
- 30:01Speaker 5: may not be available, but we're going to see if
- 30:02Speaker 5: we can get him down here to talk about this
- 30:03Speaker 5: big wind event that we're expecting. If not, I'll between

- 32:01Speaker 5: I grew up in Clarksburg and fell in love with
- 32:03Speaker 5: those pepperoni roles. I'll tell you a quick story about
- 32:06Speaker 5: Clarksburg pepperoni rolls. A few years ago, when I was
- 32:09Speaker 5: in state government, we were doing some things up in
- 32:11Speaker 5: Clarksburg and we went to Tomorrow's Bakery and I'm I'm
- 32:16Speaker 5: assuming it's still opens Tomorrow still, I think. Okay. We
- 32:18Speaker 5: had these students from Harvard that were in on a
- 32:23Speaker 5: business thing. We were working with them over there, and
- 32:26Speaker 5: so we took them to Tomorrow's Bakery a Sunday morning,
- 32:29Speaker 5: about eight thirty in the morning, and we said, we're
- 32:31Speaker 5: going to give you pepperoni rolls. And so they had
- 32:35Speaker 5: like twenty five to thirty students Susan graduate students, so
- 32:37Speaker 5: let's think mid twenties from Harvard. We had one that
- 32:41Speaker 5: was from China. We had a couple from California all
- 32:43Speaker 5: over the place. The idea of pepperoni rolls to them
- 32:48Speaker 5: was just so foreign. They put them in the white
- 32:51Speaker 5: bags like classic bakeries do, and they were all like
- 32:54Speaker 5: just kind of looking at them like they didn't know.
- 32:56Speaker 5: And then they watched that and I know, I'm on radio.
- 32:59Speaker 5: They watched that green circle just starting to expand, kind
- 33:03Speaker 5: of like kind of like Tony's seat does when he's
- 33:06Speaker 5: I sit down. But but but but and and they
- 33:12Speaker 5: fell in love with the pepperoni roles. And obviously, you know, California,
- 33:17Speaker 5: China not necessarily known for their pepperoni roles, but they
- 33:19Speaker 5: fell in love with him.
- 33:20Speaker 8: Uh.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Brian Hughes is here, and I know you got stuff
- 33:23Speaker 5: to do, but I wanted to ask you a serious
- 33:25Speaker 5: note here, this is very serious. Are the pepperoni roles
- 33:29Speaker 5: in Texas?
- 33:29Speaker 2: No, none, whatsoever. I had no idea, I mean, and
- 33:33Speaker 2: and it which.
- 33:33Speaker 8: By the way, I mean, I have classic, classically told
- 33:35Speaker 8: the story that I thought I was moving to Charleston,
- 33:37Speaker 8: South Carolina. So I would have skipped this entire experience
- 33:41Speaker 8: had I actually interviewed at that place.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I did not.
- 33:43Speaker 8: I interviewed here, so uh, but I got here and
- 33:46Speaker 8: I was like, what the heck, yeah, and yeah, where
- 33:51Speaker 8: is the but but yeah, I it was. I was
- 33:56Speaker 8: like hmm and then like you, I'm like, okay, that's
- 34:00Speaker 8: out of pepperoni roll or you know those people who
- 34:02Speaker 8: have changed up. There was the pepperoni grill. They they
- 34:07Speaker 8: did one at one time and it was actually good.
- 34:09Speaker 8: But I thought it was more strong bullie.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what it is. And it's a it's a
- 34:14Speaker 3: really I don't know, I get it. I get it right.
- 34:16Speaker 8: And it doesn't mean that they're not good, right because
- 34:18Speaker 8: because that was good, but it was more strong bullie.
- 34:21Speaker 8: But you know, I I like, I.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Like to see it greasy in the middle, in the
- 34:26Speaker 3: middle stick pepperoni soft bread.
- 34:28Speaker 5: Alright, let's talk about wind because we got some.
- 34:31Speaker 8: Seriously, Yeah, we listen, we we've got wind that's gonna
- 34:34Speaker 8: be all over the place. But as we go through
- 34:36Speaker 8: the rest of the day, I mean, our wind gus
- 34:38Speaker 8: this afternoon will be forty to fifty miles per hour.
- 34:40Speaker 8: That's why a wind advisory has been is in effect
- 34:43Speaker 8: across the entire state. Matter of fact, be glad you're
- 34:46Speaker 8: not snowsh you sixty to seventy Minle Prour.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Wind guests are possible way up there if we're talking
- 34:50Speaker 5: about wind gusts, but nothing associated with no rain, no.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Snow, no rain, no snow.
- 34:55Speaker 8: This is actually so this is a problem that that
- 34:58Speaker 8: if you, if anybody is flying across the country today,
- 35:01Speaker 8: it is a yesterday today turbulence like you wouldn't we
- 35:04Speaker 8: what we're experiencing right, what we'll experience this afternoon is
- 35:07Speaker 8: actually a part of the mid number levels of the atmosphere.
- 35:10Speaker 2: It was across the Rockies yesterday.
- 35:12Speaker 8: Matter of fact, there were a significant amount of flights
- 35:14Speaker 8: that they were diverting, that they were sending them up
- 35:17Speaker 8: over Canada to get back, you know, down into the US,
- 35:21Speaker 8: and then sending them further south. You just essentially diverting
- 35:23Speaker 8: them away from this jet stream. I mean, it was huge,
- 35:26Speaker 8: the swath of air that's just going at five hundred
- 35:29Speaker 8: miles an hour, you know, and when you you know,
- 35:31Speaker 8: the only time you send a jet into that is
- 35:33Speaker 8: when you're trying to get overseas to England or you're
- 35:36Speaker 8: trying to do a coast to coast, you go right
- 35:38Speaker 8: in that jet stream because then you're being pushed.
- 35:40Speaker 2: You may by the way you.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Make it England in twenty minutes.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Oh, hello, all right, And.
- 35:45Speaker 5: I told your joke earlier. I said, if you would
- 35:47Speaker 5: don't like your garbage, you can't stick around somebody else's
- 35:49Speaker 5: coming into your arm a little bit like exactly so.
- 35:51Speaker 5: And I say that because some people have, you know,
- 35:53Speaker 5: this time of year, maybe some Saint Patrick's stuff out,
- 35:55Speaker 5: or they got Easter stuff out or whatever.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Still has Christmas stuffs blowed away.
- 36:02Speaker 5: Well that's for next year.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Yeah, for next year. That's for next year.
- 36:05Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 36:05Speaker 8: It's one of the things if you haven't already uh
- 36:09Speaker 8: secured everything, or if you kind of got it out
- 36:11Speaker 8: over the weekend, you know, because you're like, oh, this
- 36:13Speaker 8: is great weather. Yeah it was great weather, but today
- 36:15Speaker 8: is going to be wind blown everything.
- 36:17Speaker 5: So and and sometimes people forget when they're driving. I
- 36:19Speaker 5: drive an suv and oh you snow ice, no problem.
- 36:23Speaker 5: When DI in an suv sometimes is not good, you know.
- 36:26Speaker 5: And that's it's not a it's not a huge suv.
- 36:29Speaker 5: That's the problem. And I mean I just a couple
- 36:31Speaker 5: of weeks ago, I'm driving, you know, uh a westbound
- 36:34Speaker 5: on sixty four and uh, I think I crossed like
- 36:36Speaker 5: three lanes.
- 36:37Speaker 3: You know, and also being near tractor trailers right exactly,
- 36:41Speaker 3: but they will swing it.
- 36:42Speaker 8: It's not their fault, no, and that's and that's why
- 36:44Speaker 8: you know, you know, you always want to if you
- 36:46Speaker 8: see a flatbed trailer, you know, and you see it's
- 36:49Speaker 8: loaded down, you're good. But you know, but you know,
- 36:52Speaker 8: with these box trailers, you don't know if they're empty
- 36:54Speaker 8: or if they're loaded.
- 36:54Speaker 2: If they're empty. It listened there.
- 36:57Speaker 8: Yeah, they're just doing this dance where they're holding on
- 36:59Speaker 8: the steer and whel we're just telling people just to.
- 37:01Speaker 5: Be careful because again we were you know, a couple
- 37:03Speaker 5: of days ago we had the severe weather. Not it
- 37:05Speaker 5: wasn't so much you're in the Charleston area, but we
- 37:07Speaker 5: did have it in other places. We're going to have
- 37:09Speaker 5: high winds that you would associate with those kind of storms,
- 37:12Speaker 5: but without the storms.
- 37:13Speaker 8: Yes, without storms, I mean, and we had some of
- 37:15Speaker 8: those winds you know, day before yesterday we had those
- 37:18Speaker 8: that you know, late that night and as we talked
- 37:20Speaker 8: about that round two. Round one, yeah, we had the
- 37:23Speaker 8: tornado warnings all across the northern Panhandle, but the round
- 37:25Speaker 8: two was what was going to be the straight line
- 37:27Speaker 8: style winds and that took a lot of trees down,
- 37:29Speaker 8: limbs down. Listen, it's that time of year where we
- 37:32Speaker 8: have transitional weather. We're transitioning back and forth between you know,
- 37:36Speaker 8: winter and everything else. By Sunday we're going to be
- 37:38Speaker 8: in the mid seventies and then Monday we get the rain,
- 37:41Speaker 8: the snow late later in the night, almost like what
- 37:44Speaker 8: we had, you know yesterday. Yesterday we had pellats of
- 37:46Speaker 8: snow at ten o'clock in the morning.
- 37:49Speaker 5: But we're not talking about accumulating.
- 37:51Speaker 8: No, this is not gonna accumulating. There'll be some very
- 37:53Speaker 8: light accumulations of the mountains and then you say that's it.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Well, hold on, I said this is going to be
- 38:01Speaker 2: the last.
- 38:02Speaker 8: This one would probably be the last big storm because
- 38:05Speaker 8: this is going to be this is gonna be a
- 38:06Speaker 8: blizzard from Minnesota, Michigan all across the.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Great Lakes region. I mean, it's blizzard conditions up there.
- 38:13Speaker 8: But for us, you know, that's going to go to
- 38:15Speaker 8: the north, and that was that's where our last hoorah
- 38:18Speaker 8: for a big opportunity. Now, this being the anniversary of
- 38:22Speaker 8: the Storm of the century, Uh, you know, we we've
- 38:24Speaker 8: got to look at there are obviously going to be
- 38:26Speaker 8: someone offs. You have to always you must always say
- 38:29Speaker 8: snowstorms really end by that about Easter, and then you
- 38:34Speaker 8: plant flowers after Mother's Day because that's at that point
- 38:38Speaker 8: you don't have a frost to be concerned about. But
- 38:41Speaker 8: between now and Easter, we still have a couple of shots.
- 38:43Speaker 8: We might get some light snow or a flurry or
- 38:45Speaker 8: light dusting, but we don't see any big storms on tap.
- 38:49Speaker 8: But we do have a roller coaster in temperatures over
- 38:52Speaker 8: the next probably ten to fourteen days.
- 38:53Speaker 5: That's that, you know, this is the anniversary nineteen ninety three,
- 38:56Speaker 5: the storm of the Century they called. I was living
- 38:58Speaker 5: in Point Pleasant, were at the radio station in Galla
- 39:01Speaker 5: Police at the time, which is only like, oh yeah,
- 39:03Speaker 5: and you didn't even go home. I couldn't even well, no,
- 39:05Speaker 5: you didn't get there. I couldn't get there. I was
- 39:06Speaker 5: supposed to be on the air at noon that day
- 39:08Speaker 5: and backed the car up and the car wasn't moving,
- 39:13Speaker 5: and it was coming down so quickly, and Danna and
- 39:16Speaker 5: I had just gotten married and we were out there
- 39:19Speaker 5: trying to and I don't think we even had a snowshovel.
- 39:21Speaker 3: I think we were using like a coffee can or
- 39:23Speaker 3: something out there. But wasn't ninety three the last century
- 39:27Speaker 3: the storm of the last storm of that?
- 39:29Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 39:29Speaker 3: This century?
- 39:30Speaker 2: Yeah, well this insury, this this century.
- 39:33Speaker 8: It was actually back if we're hunting this entry so far,
- 39:36Speaker 8: it'd be back that twenty twelve storm. Yeah, twenty twelve,
- 39:39Speaker 8: because that one we were two tenths of an inch
- 39:41Speaker 8: of tying the record for the most so in twenty
- 39:45Speaker 8: four hours, which was the storm of the century.
- 39:47Speaker 6: So it was that.
- 39:49Speaker 2: It was that storm and that was one. I mean
- 39:52Speaker 2: I laughed against.
- 39:53Speaker 10: What year was this?
- 39:54Speaker 2: Was that twenty twenty twelve?
- 39:56Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, it's twenty twelve, twenty fourteen, yeah, yeah, somewhere there.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Okay, I can't remember the Okay, you know numbers.
- 40:06Speaker 8: I do remember having to pick up I had to
- 40:08Speaker 8: go around Tennis pick up most of the staff from
- 40:10Speaker 8: the TV station drop staff off.
- 40:12Speaker 12: You know.
- 40:13Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 40:13Speaker 8: I was the yellow bus driving everybody around, or media's
- 40:16Speaker 8: short bus, but still, uh, I was driving everybody around
- 40:20Speaker 8: and passing jeeps that were stuck in the stones, Like,
- 40:22Speaker 8: how is this happening?
- 40:23Speaker 3: You're from Texas?
- 40:24Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I just.
- 40:27Speaker 5: Hit a cow and keep going, all right. Brian Hughes
- 40:30Speaker 5: appreciate it man.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Absolutely gonna have a great weekend.
- 40:32Speaker 5: Uh text says a true West Virginia Mountaineer role. We
- 40:35Speaker 5: use venison pepperoni, you're not.
- 40:40Speaker 2: You're greasy, and they'll probably have a little crunch to UH.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Tech text says enjoying these subjects today, nice and actual,
- 40:50Speaker 5: nice and actually healthy to take a break from news,
- 40:52Speaker 5: politics and media insanity, sends the text. Yes, yeses Texas.
- 40:56Speaker 5: What year was a big ice storm when people were
- 40:58Speaker 5: going two miles an hour on the interstate? That was awful.
- 41:02Speaker 2: We had one of those. It was about five years,
- 41:05Speaker 2: four years ago.
- 41:06Speaker 8: Most of that was in the Huntington area, northeast Kentucky
- 41:10Speaker 8: and that was that was one and it took our
- 41:12Speaker 8: TV station off the air for like seven days.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah not that, yeah, right after COVID Yeah right, go yeah,
- 41:18Speaker 2: you're right, yes, right, go go.
- 41:21Speaker 8: There's so many storms. I can tell you about that
- 41:23Speaker 8: tornado event two years ago.
- 41:25Speaker 5: Okay, believe me. Yeah that was in was that in April?
- 41:31Speaker 2: Yes, yeah I can, I got pictures on my phone.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I was What was your business affected by that? Because
- 41:37Speaker 3: so we talked about it. When the tornado warning was happening,
- 41:41Speaker 3: it came down to hit the sport Mark, the old
- 41:43Speaker 3: sport Mark building. It blew the two street signs beside us.
- 41:46Speaker 3: I have video from there. We're standing in the window
- 41:48Speaker 3: and like, I probably want to back away from the wind.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Actually I think you said, yeah, yes, that was wild.
- 41:53Speaker 3: And also even before I never will forget my daughter Josephine,
- 41:57Speaker 3: we went to go buy her a wedding dress. The
- 42:00Speaker 3: other tornado we had the incident in the East End
- 42:02Speaker 3: when a blow up Roughner Park.
- 42:04Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Uh. We had went over to Bells on the west side,
- 42:07Speaker 3: picked out her wedding dress, came home and there was
- 42:09Speaker 3: a tree lane in my front yard and I don't
- 42:11Speaker 3: have a tree in my front you do, now, Oh wow?
- 42:15Speaker 3: And that was wild. And uh I had a table
- 42:18Speaker 3: out back, a picnic table that had a glass top,
- 42:20Speaker 3: and it was thrown into my neighbor's yard shattered. And
- 42:24Speaker 3: uh he had a he had a new baby girl,
- 42:27Speaker 3: like a little toddler. She's like baby one or two
- 42:29Speaker 3: in the yard. Him and I are out there with
- 42:31Speaker 3: a shop backs shone back in his yard to get
- 42:34Speaker 3: all the glass.
- 42:35Speaker 6: And so the kid.
- 42:38Speaker 5: All right with good times, good times, great oldies. Appreciate
- 42:43Speaker 5: n Yeah right, appreciate you.
- 42:46Speaker 8: Uh.
- 42:46Speaker 5: Being here. I got to take a break.
- 42:48Speaker 1: You go do things.

- 48:05Speaker 5: shop in Charleston, and I thought no one came downtown
- 48:08Speaker 5: Charleston anymore.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Yeah, we have huge traffic every day. People come from
- 48:12Speaker 3: all over a shop and I'm sure the other stores
- 48:15Speaker 3: are doing the same as well. I mean, we're right
- 48:17Speaker 3: down in the middle. It's great. We had a nice
- 48:19Speaker 3: trunk show last week with Samuelson and our Lynn Belts,
- 48:23Speaker 3: a fantastic day. Then our big trunk show is this
- 48:27Speaker 3: coming up week. On Thursday. We have Oxford closed, which

- 49:22Speaker 5: it's fantastic. And I'll probably be on the grill that
- 49:25Speaker 5: day on the spring show. They'd like to put me
- 49:27Speaker 5: out on the grill and make a sausage and pepper sandwich.

- 50:05Speaker 5: down there for that sale and you're grilled up sausage
- 50:09Speaker 5: and peppers.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Man.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Actually, that's one of my favorite things to eat. It
- 50:12Speaker 3: to make yeah fun, We have fun with it. Customers
