- 0:00The Mets yet again just grabbing some sloppy seconds from from
- 0:03the Yankees. I mean, this is just a it seems
- 0:07like an annual tradition at this point.
- 0:09And gentlemen, welcome to the three O take where we talk all
- 0:13things Major League Baseball. Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate
- 0:18Reyes. It all starts right now.
- 0:24Welcome back to the Three O Take presented by Chinook Cedry this
- 0:26episode of Five 85. I'll be your host Kyle Kord.
- 0:32I'm here with my Co host Nate Reyes.
- 0:37Nate. KCJB how are we?
- 0:41It's a nice little add on. Josh in the corner.
- 0:46Who? Dude, today it officially hit me
- 0:50that I I do miss baseball today. Today was the official day.
- 0:56There's this one, there's a mourning period and then there's
- 1:03like a I'm frustrated period and then there's like a let me see
- 1:14what else is going on in life period.
- 1:17And that's now come to an end. There's nothing else going on in
- 1:19life. And I now miss baseball.
- 1:22I was imagining opening day. That's the first time that I
- 1:27picture opening day is when the wheels start turning for me.
- 1:34That's interesting. I feel like, correct me if I'm
- 1:37wrong, I feel like traditionally you've required a longer mental
- 1:40break than me in the offseason. Isn't that would that be safe to
- 1:44say? It's possible because I feel
- 1:46like I'm usually like ready to go.
- 1:48But this year, I'm not to say that I don't miss baseball, but
- 1:52I'm like, I'm, I'm just, I'm kind of, I'm chilling right now.
- 1:56Like I'm, I'm cool. Like if, if it's, if the season
- 1:59starts tomorrow, that'd be great.
- 2:01But also like, let's just get to, let's just get the
- 2:04Christmas. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm cool.
- 2:07I've been watching a lot of Christmas movies, getting my
- 2:10fix, trying to get ahead of the game because I I I fear that
- 2:14December's going to fly by. It's already like, I don't like
- 2:17how quick it's already moving. That's exactly what Meredith
- 2:19said she's like. It's the third but.
- 2:23It's really like the 12th right now.
- 2:25Yeah, real. Fast 3 days.
- 2:27We're already we're already moving and we're already going
- 2:29in. Then we're flying.
- 2:31We're flying, we're a tenth of the way through.
- 2:36It's good math. Thank you.
- 2:39It's good math. I did all right with fractions.
- 2:42What? What movies have you crossed off
- 2:44the list? Christmas with the cranks.
- 2:47You're a big classic Christmas movie guy.
- 2:51Yes, that's right. We we have the classic.
- 2:54Yeah, black and whites. Well, right.
- 2:57I thought you were going to say like the claymation stuff.
- 2:59I was like, yeah, we have had this conversation before, 'cause
- 3:01I think that's where you. And I are different names freak
- 3:03me out. Yeah, they're weird me out a
- 3:04little bit. Shout out year without a Santa
- 3:06Claus. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:09I mean it's. Reppin no, but we they freak me
- 3:13out. We, I mean, I understand we got,
- 3:16we got Christmas with the cranks.
- 3:18That was the first one I think of, of the of the season.
- 3:21That was a November watch. We.
- 3:23We. Busted that one out early.
- 3:26We've done both Home Alone's. What else have we done well?
- 3:33Both there's there's more than two.
- 3:36No, there's not 2. Relax, relax.
- 3:38There's two that matter. Yeah, you're right.
- 3:40No, I'm just two that matter. Meredith wanted to watch her
- 3:45like a ROM com Christmas movie last night so we did that.
- 3:48Sure, name it. You can name it.
- 3:50While you were sleeping Sandra Bullock Sandra Bullock's a real
- 3:541 Sandra Bullock. 'S a real one.
- 3:56I've never heard of that though. Is that new?
- 3:58It's one of her earlier films for sure.
- 4:01She's definitely a good bit younger in that movie.
- 4:03I mean relatively. So I think she's probably sounds
- 4:05creepy early 20s. It is.
- 4:08It's a bizarre storyline. She you know what story time
- 4:13real quick. Not I, I won't I won't spoil
- 4:15anything, but there's this like weird triangle between I mean,
- 4:19you'd probably read this on the back of the the movie box, but
- 4:22it's like her, this guy who has a coma or who's in a coma.
- 4:28He has an accent and and goes in a coma and then his brother this
- 4:34weird triangle and it it all it all it all resolves itself in
- 4:40the end. But very bizarre.
- 4:42And we tried to watch Elf but apparently can't find Elf on any
- 4:45streaming service right now so. Not for free.
- 4:48That's fun. Elf not for free.
- 4:50It's worth buying though man. Yeah, with physical copy, so I
- 4:54don't have to buy it ever again because it's a great movie that
- 4:57I'll most certainly watch. But I don't, I don't want to
- 5:00have to pay $4.00 to to watch a movie I've seen a dozen times.
- 5:04Like, let me just can I? I think I know that.
- 5:08Can I exactly? They know.
- 5:10Do you have the ability to watch physical copy movies?
- 5:14Do I have the ability? That guy's still got the VHSDV
- 5:18combo. No, no, no.
- 5:20I've got the OG Xbox, I've got the 360, I've got the place, the
- 5:27what do I have? PS4 I even have a an old PC
- 5:32laptop over here I think has ACD Dr. I I we're we're good we're
- 5:36we're squared away so I'm. So there are ways you can
- 5:39purchase the digital copy and have it everywhere.
- 5:45Sure, but. OK.
- 5:47I'm I'm, I'm trying to get into my physical copy, my physical
- 5:51media I like. That I like that.
- 5:53Because you're hearing about how they're like changed all these
- 5:55movies retroactively now. And I'm like, that's.
- 5:57True if you don't need to pull a receipt.
- 5:59None of that. None of that.
- 6:01Well, not only that, but if the service ever goes away, it's
- 6:04just gone. You don't have it anymore.
- 6:06Exactly. Or if they take it off, yeah.
- 6:08That too. Anyway.
- 6:10I'm only, I'm only the Grinch in so far.
- 6:14Jim Carrey Grinch. Of course, that's worth saying.
- 6:18I will say the new, the new animated Grinch is decent.
- 6:23It is decent. Is it?
- 6:24It's different enough. Yeah.
- 6:27To still be like a an original story in a way.
- 6:32Yeah, I was going to ask like I. Mean it's different enough.
- 6:34OK, OK. Good to know.
- 6:36Still the OG. OG's yeah.
- 6:39Jim Carrey's goat. No, no, no, no.
- 6:41The OG. He's talking like the the true
- 6:43OG animated. True OG.
- 6:45Oh, that one. No, I'm not.
- 6:46I'm not going to watch that one. It's the Jim Carrey version.
- 6:51I don't even recognize the anything before that.
- 6:54Well, that's just. Jim Carrey is.
- 6:56That's ignorant to be the Grinch.
- 6:58That's that's ignorant. Oh, well, I mean, I'll I'll hear
- 7:00you on that, but to to just, I'm not.
- 7:02Watching three different versions of the IT.
- 7:04Completely just disrespect it too.
- 7:06Well yeah, you should have stopped after the OG and the Jim
- 7:09Carrey. We don't.
- 7:10You didn't necessarily need to dabble into the new animated
- 7:12version. You gotta give it a shot.
- 7:13You gotta give it a shot. So, well, then you gotta give
- 7:16the old. Well, you gotta give the old one
- 7:17a shot. Then it's fair.
- 7:18Fair is fair. We know what that is.
- 7:20We know what that is. Oh boy, Nate's in one of these
- 7:22modes tonight. I can already tell.
- 7:24I can already tell. I dodge Page watch Love Actually
- 7:27on the plane, so I dodge that bullet.
- 7:29I don't have to watch that one, which is nice.
- 7:31So do I get credit if my family watches them?
- 7:36I don't, but you don't. I don't think it's.
- 7:38No, I don't. No, I don't, I don't.
- 7:40I don't think that's how that question works.
- 7:42I can't figure this guy out. I'm.
- 7:44Going I'm going for the golfs. I'm going for the golf score.
- 7:51Speaking of watching stuff, I put out a poll on social this
- 7:55week. I said, folks, if you could, if
- 8:00you could show somebody one all time baseball game to make them
- 8:04a fan for life, what game do you show them?
- 8:10So I'll pose the question to you both.
- 8:11So I'm going to pull up. I'm going to pull up some some
- 8:17responses that I thought were pretty good.
- 8:19A lot of a lot of common answers, I'll say in fact, I'll
- 8:23give you I'll give you guys a second.
- 8:25I think that over some of the some of the answers which I
- 8:30don't I don't know what my singular answer would be, but I
- 8:34I would most definitely have a short list that I could probably
- 8:40dwindle it down to like there's a lot of game seven of the 16
- 8:43World Series. Nate, I know that you
- 8:46apparently, which this is news to me as of like a week ago that
- 8:50you just you don't remember World Series matchups like as
- 8:54recent as like 2000. That's just like a a black hole
- 8:58in your baseball. Yes, you know, knowledge base,
- 9:03yes, which is fine. It's it's your it's your blind
- 9:06spot. It's OK.
- 9:08I can. I could probably get 70% of them
- 9:12right from 2000 up until this this past year.
- 9:17It's better than I, I think I. Originally, as far as the way
- 9:20you like, I have. Well, game seven of the 2016
- 9:24World Series. Please tell me you you know who
- 9:26was in that. The 2016. 2016 yeah, is.
- 9:36It the Royals. Think, think.
- 9:41Curse. Oh, the Cubs.
- 9:45Duh. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:47Fair enough. I knew that.
- 9:48I knew that. I knew that.
- 9:49Game seven of the 2016 World Series, there's a lot of those
- 9:51which I would agree. I mean that, I mean, obviously
- 9:54with what was at stake and, and then the delay and all that,
- 9:57that, I mean, that's, that's a great one.
- 9:59A lot of surprise amount of people said Game 7 of this World
- 10:03Series. I was going to say that like I I
- 10:05don't know if that's just recently by so that was one of
- 10:07the greatest games I've ever watched.
- 10:10It's both of those things. Can it?
- 10:12Yeah. Can it be both?
- 10:13Can can we be victims of the moment but also acknowledge that
- 10:16maybe it is even even with enough time passing that maybe
- 10:20we'll look back on it as one of the the games that you would
- 10:23show somebody if you wanted to make him a fan for life, for
- 10:26baseball, Yeah. I think baseball is so
- 10:32interesting in this way that no, like no one game.
- 10:37I even if even if you were to show that game, I still think
- 10:41it's only as good if you set it up first.
- 10:45Like, hey, I have to, I have to tell you the story before we
- 10:48watch this. That then that's why Game 7's
- 10:49hit different, right? Because it's got six games
- 10:51telling the story. That's right up.
- 10:53Until that point. So that's fair.
- 10:55A lot of a lot of game four of the 2004 ALCS, which I mean, how
- 11:01could you not the Kirk Gibson walk off game.
- 11:05We have some some older folks in the in the replies saw some 2001
- 11:15Nate another another another World Series that's near and
- 11:18dear to your heart. Yeah, Game seven of that.
- 11:25Yeah, there was some there. Wait, so are you saying, Nate,
- 11:29that that's your answer right now?
- 11:32Game 7 this month of this World Series?
- 11:38Do you have drag? Do you have drag racing going on
- 11:40outside low office? Low bit I.
- 11:44Do they meet on room? Member, I don't remember what
- 11:49year it was, but living in Colorado I think just kind of
- 11:54had me a little more biased towards this.
- 11:56But when Carlos Gonzalez hit a a walk off home run to complete
- 12:00the cycle, that was pretty sick. That was pretty insane because
- 12:06cargo had the drippiest swing in swag.
- 12:12I mean, top five for me. That one was pretty cool.
- 12:17I was going to say maybe 163. That was in the Rockies.
- 12:23In the Padres, like I think that was pretty insane.
- 12:26The David Freese game? Yeah.
- 12:31The Joe Carter game? Sure.
- 12:36The Bill Buckner game, Yeah. I mean, a lot of the classics,
- 12:39No, Yeah, we don't need to talk about that.
- 12:43It's hard. To go back, if you were, if you
- 12:45were trying to get somebody to be a new fan, like to sit
- 12:48through the 1960 Game 7 sure is like.
- 12:51Which is why I think, which is why I think 2016 the the Cubs
- 12:55went in at all. I think that's a good sweet spot
- 12:57because it's. You can tell that story without
- 13:00having to watch the the games leading up to it.
- 13:02You're like, hey, it's been a million years since they've won.
- 13:04So exactly. Yeah.
- 13:07And everyone knows, I mean, Chicago like it's it's the
- 13:10classic team. I think it's a good answer.
- 13:12It's a very good answer. I think that might be mine for
- 13:16now. I think that's where I'll
- 13:17settle. Yeah, I have to say 2013 Wild
- 13:21Card game in Pittsburgh because I'm a Pirates fan, so I have to
- 13:24say that that was I. Have.
- 13:26To put that that was a starving fan base as well go.
- 13:30Pirates, that is another game that I, I will say that I like
- 13:35there are people that aren't even Pirates fans that are just,
- 13:38you know, fans of game or even not even baseball fans that know
- 13:41a little bit about baseball. They somehow know about that
- 13:44game, like, Oh yeah, that game in Pittsburgh where they were
- 13:47yelling the guy's name and he dropped the ball and bought
- 13:49like, so I, I could I that, that'd be an, that could be an
- 13:53audible mention for me. I mean, that's.
- 13:56AI think it's interesting because like the baseball game
- 13:59itself was is not the reason, but it's that whole the the way
- 14:04the fans were. You buy in more.
- 14:07You know what I mean? So it wasn't it wasn't really
- 14:09the epic game seven that we just saw sure, which is a fantastic
- 14:13baseball game, which would have been a fantastic baseball game.
- 14:15It was on June 3rd. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:17You know, no, I mean, all of the external factors play into it,
- 14:20like the storylines, the build up, the fan environment, all
- 14:23that. So, yeah, I mean, there it's,
- 14:26it's a question that could go many different ways, but I think
- 14:29that's, I think 2016 might be where I settle for now.
- 14:33That's that's where I arrive. All right, let's get into let's
- 14:37get into some news. Feels like it happened a month
- 14:42ago at this point, but that's what happens when you when we
- 14:45hit the offseason and we're going once a week, sometimes
- 14:48we're a little late, but Dylan Cease Blue Jays making actually
- 14:54multiple moves Dylan's but we'll start with Dylan Cease.
- 14:57Dylan Cease has signed A7 year, $210 million contract with the
- 15:01Jays, the Toronto Blue Jays. I think with the way that this
- 15:13post season went, with the way the World Series went and the
- 15:20eagerness in which they're showing as it relates to some of
- 15:24these moves, the the seriousness that it seems as though they're
- 15:31they're they're approaching this off season with have we arrived
- 15:36at the points where we have no choice but to take the Blue Jays
- 15:40seriously moving forward, maybe for an extended period of time,
- 15:44maybe not just the season, but beyond.
- 15:48Probably. I think Boba Shet oddly tells me
- 15:56a story if they bring him back. I think that kind of they're
- 16:06they're almost checking all boxes, right.
- 16:08Let's keep our core and our pillars together while still
- 16:12going out and getting better. But I mean, I like, I look at
- 16:18the, you look at the entire postseason for them and, and
- 16:23especially in the World Series, it feels like they they couldn't
- 16:27have played any better. They they, they maxed out.
- 16:31That's the best they could have played and they still came up
- 16:35short. And that says something about
- 16:37the Dodgers as well, because it's like the Dodgers I felt
- 16:40like got outplayed and yet still won.
- 16:43So they they pressed all the right buttons.
- 16:48They played as well as they could have played, and yet you
- 16:51still came up short. Shows me that like, all right,
- 16:54well, let's go. Let's go figure out what we need
- 16:56to pluck. And I think Cease kind of maybe
- 17:01having like somewhat of a mid year last year, like, you know,
- 17:07especially for what we've seen out of him, like in his
- 17:10standards, it's probably a down year.
- 17:14One could argue that it's maybe somewhat of a bargain still 30
- 17:21million a year. But it's like, I don't know,
- 17:26it's interesting to me that it happened quickly and each guy's
- 17:31different. You know, I'm sure there's guys
- 17:33that are like, yeah, I want to get like, I want to get out of
- 17:35the way. I want to get settled in, like,
- 17:36take advantage of the offseason in my new city and like, get
- 17:40established before spring training, you know what I mean?
- 17:43And then there are some guys that are like, yeah, let's just
- 17:45maximize what these offers can be.
- 17:49And I think there's no doubt that SEES could have gotten
- 17:53similar offers elsewhere. I think it just goes to show you
- 17:56that like, Blue Jays are messing around, but Beau Bichette, I
- 18:03don't know why It's just like that to me, tells me what?
- 18:09Trajectory they're taking. You bring him back and you're
- 18:12committed to all things. Or I or IKF.
- 18:18Definitely not, but the move, I think there's got it.
- 18:21There's probably a conversation about the move, like are are you
- 18:24willing to play second base moving forward?
- 18:26Because Andres Jimenez looked great at short and you know, was
- 18:30the top five glove in in in the game.
- 18:35So like, I wonder if that's a part of the conversation, you
- 18:38know, but it's just it's like a let's commit to our guy.
- 18:43You already done it once with Vladdy.
- 18:46You've now added to your roster pitching which was coming up
- 18:51short. Bring back your guy.
- 18:54Keep the core together. So what I'm hearing you say is
- 18:56your CIS edition is only going to be as good as your Bichette
- 19:01decision as sort of what I'm hearing you say.
- 19:05Say it again. Your CIS edition is only going
- 19:10to be as good as your Bichette decisions.
- 19:13You're saying if you bring Bo back, it's only going to amplify
- 19:17what they're doing this offseason, building off the
- 19:20momentum that they built in October heading into 2026.
- 19:27It sounds like you're saying they're connected.
- 19:28Yeah, in a way, I think it's just like the overall offseason
- 19:33for me. If the the the grade that I
- 19:35would give the Blue Jays is going to, I think it's important
- 19:41to bring back Boba Shet. I would agree.
- 19:44Just for what he means for the team and and he had a great year
- 19:50last year. I knew he was hurt and like
- 19:52missed most of the postseason, but he started fantastic year.
- 19:56Then he's he brings an element to that lineup.
- 20:00That is exactly what we all witnessed.
- 20:03It's like you guys put the ball in play, you don't strike out
- 20:07and I don't know, he's just he's been there and I could I to have
- 20:12like 2 cornerstone pieces that came up in the organization
- 20:16together. It's like, I don't know, it's
- 20:18just like it's a well established.
- 20:22Game plan I guess. Execute it.
- 20:26Another thing on sieves, I don't think I realized how checkered
- 20:31his success was. How like the the pattern is
- 20:35crazy. He finished I I think it was in
- 20:372022 and 24. He finished what, 2nd and 4th
- 20:43respectively in the Cy Young and then in 23 and 25 was well below
- 20:50500 for those that care about that and had an ERA of like 4
- 20:551/2 I think. Or 58 and 455.
- 21:02Yeah, just like so you could argue if that's if that's his
- 21:08MO, then maybe do for a bounce back.
- 21:11But I, I'm always, and I've said this before, I'm always
- 21:14interested and it is a case by case situation, of course, but
- 21:17I'm always curious to see how being in a situation where your,
- 21:23your future is uncertain. I'm always curious how that
- 21:26impacts a guy and a guy like Dylan sees who I just feel like
- 21:32for the last three, three years, we could probably call it has
- 21:38just been constantly in the news on the block.
- 21:43What's it like? What's what's happening with
- 21:45this guy? Could he end up elsewhere?
- 21:48He's in, he's being pursued by XY and Z teams and I just wonder
- 21:52how how that how that has has impacted his ability to just be
- 21:57where his feet are and maybe having a little bit of long term
- 22:01security now. Maybe he's in the decision of
- 22:04like committing this. Early, right, which is what I
- 22:06was going to say, combined with the fact that it's a long it's
- 22:08it's a long term. He did it early.
- 22:10Like you said, Nate, get get get in and and get after it.
- 22:14I, I think we, we could be, we could be on the on the cusp of
- 22:21a, of a bounce back for C. So that should be interesting to
- 22:25see Another move they made. Cody Ponce three-year, $30
- 22:31million deal. Bringing them over from the KBO
- 22:35was the KB OS MVP, going 17 and one with A189252 strikeouts with
- 22:4141 walks and 180 and 2/3 innings for the Hanwa Eagles.
- 22:51Look, I mean JB, don't get mad at me.
- 22:55No disrespect. I've never heard of this guy.
- 22:58I've never heard of him. I like good for you of what you
- 23:01did over the pond, but like I I've never heard of this guy.
- 23:08Have you? Did you hear about this guy?
- 23:10Did you know who this guy was before pre MVP of a different
- 23:14league? Did you know who he was?
- 23:15Is talking to me, yeah. No, no, no.
- 23:19Why is, I don't know why. It's getting like it's being
- 23:22talked about a lot. No doubt.
- 23:24And and which is. Cool, because like, I love a
- 23:27story of like, Oh. Love a good like KBO success
- 23:30story. Couldn't make it MLB.
- 23:33Go reinvent yourself in another league.
- 23:35Now you have an opportunity to come back.
- 23:37Dope, cool story. I I just, I've never heard of
- 23:40the guy. I don't.
- 23:42What's what's kind of blowing my mind on this is usually when a
- 23:46when a move like this is made and a team makes.
- 23:50I mean, I I use air quotes makes a splash.
- 23:52They go over and get a guy for bring them back from the KBO.
- 23:56It's never for more than like. $12.00 Yeah.
- 24:03I was going to say like, like talking serious though, like Max
- 24:07like 10, twelve, $15 million. When I saw $30 million, I'm
- 24:13like, granted, it's an AV of 10, but I'm like that's still a
- 24:17somewhat of a hefty price tag for a guy that clearly just
- 24:21don't know ball as as it relates to Cody Ponts.
- 24:24No disrespect, but when I saw the move, I was like, well, it
- 24:30seems like the Jays are serious, but I just don't entirely know
- 24:33what this move means for them. I don't know, Josh.
- 24:38Tell us about him. He's a He's a pirate.
- 24:40Yeah, he was the guy that yeah, he was the guy that we got in a
- 24:43in a trade with Milwaukee. I think it was Jordan Lyles.
- 24:48And there we go. Listen to this.
- 24:50Listen, there's not a lot of good to talk about.
- 24:52When he was with the Pirates, there was he's got stuff and he
- 24:56had stuff. The stuff was always there.
- 25:00But I mean, he didn't make it. I got it.
- 25:05Well, obviously, because he just.
- 25:06Yeah, he's obviously 29 starts. I mean those numbers in the KBO
- 25:09or no joke, where do you, where do you have the KBO?
- 25:12That would be my question. Is it somewhere between AA and
- 25:15AAA? Do you think it's higher than
- 25:17that like that? I guess that's my question
- 25:21because I mean he had a 270 ERA in Japan in 24, but that was in
- 25:25there. I looked it up before we talked
- 25:27about that was in their minor league, the Japan, the Japanese
- 25:30minor league. When he when he was in the
- 25:33actual like Pacific League, he had a 672 ERA.
- 25:38So like this is one year of this one year in the KBO.
- 25:42Those numbers are no joke. 181 innings, 252 strikeouts with a
- 25:480.9 WHIP is is fantastic. Yeah, three years.
- 25:52Just nuts. Man, I I don't know.
- 25:55I would. Have given the guy three years
- 25:586,000,000 and I'm sure he would have said yes to that.
- 26:01I you're giving me a guarantee to come back and pitch for
- 26:06stuff. Something that matters like 30
- 26:09mil has got to be an overpay. He's married to George Kittle's
- 26:14sister. There's I don't know why
- 26:16everybody wants to bring that up, but we may as well.
- 26:19Everybody else does. How does so so many people know
- 26:23about this guy and I've never heard of him before?
- 26:25I don't. God forbid a white guy gets a
- 26:27little motion. Well, and Ryan and Ryan Weiss,
- 26:32it was his teammate over there and the KBO also just signed
- 26:36with I already forgot. I don't think it matters that
- 26:41much. I Yeah, I'm.
- 26:42Just not. I'm just going to call a spade
- 26:47a. Spade here.
- 26:48Oh my gosh, brother. Yeah, no, he and.
- 26:57The thing is too, I I've heard of him because my team traded
- 27:01for him right before he left the league, you know, I mean.
- 27:04That's I can, yeah, I I get it. I.
- 27:05Didn't hear about him when he was pitching with Milwash.
- 27:11I get it, I get it. I mean, I, I understand.
- 27:13I'm just like I so many details have come out about this guy.
- 27:17Our our group chat was blowing up about him today and I'm like
- 27:21I've never heard of this joker and and.
- 27:25No, you know what, Nate, you're right.
- 27:27Let's stand our ground. Forget the whole like, oh, you
- 27:30don't know ball. No, shut up to anybody who's
- 27:33going to sit here and act like they have like Cody Ponce's
- 27:36resume in their notes app, like ready at any moment to just
- 27:40like, let RIP in a party. Relax.
- 27:42Staying up till 3:00 AM to watch some some starts over in the
- 27:45KBL. Yeah, who's watching?
- 27:46Who's watching? Cody Ponce's highlights mixtape?
- 27:50Relax. OK, In fact, you know what, I'm
- 27:53going to no disrespect, this is this is no slight to Cody Ponce,
- 27:58but I'm going to look. I'm going to go to YouTube.
- 28:00I'm going to type in Cody Ponce highlights.
- 28:07Can we watch them? Can you throw it up?
- 28:08No, I'm not going to throw it up.
- 28:10While you're looking that up, let let me just let me just say
- 28:13like we we read off the the Cody Ponce numbers, right?
- 28:17Ryan Weiss last year in the KBO same team had a 287 ERA and 30
- 28:23starts in 178 innings, which is like the same, right?
- 28:26Not as many strikeouts, slightly high, like 1.02 wit like still
- 28:32fantastic. And he was good the year before,
- 28:34right? The Astros signed this guy to a
- 28:37one year deal guaranteeing him Major League deal guaranteeing
- 28:40him 2.6 million. Bang that's a that deal makes
- 28:44sense and honestly, somebody should go get this pitching
- 28:47coach because he's clearly the common denominator here.
- 28:51So I three years 30 is just absurd.
- 28:55I, I don't understand that. I, I don't know what I mean.
- 28:59He's probably going to dice. I don't know, like.
- 29:03Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of all caps YouTube video titles.
- 29:08So apparently this is a huge deal that we apparently just
- 29:10missed the boat on, but we're going to talk about another deal
- 29:13now. Enough Jay's talk.
- 29:15Let's talk. I'll talk.
- 29:18New York Mets Devin Williams. Yankee legend Devin Williams has
- 29:25reluctantly moved across town, just dismantled the the Yankees
- 29:32organization, the Yankees franchise, brick by brick.
- 29:36Lost this the division. And then that that's I mean, I
- 29:41was just talking about the beard thing, but you're right, he
- 29:43actually he was kind of booty cheeks too.
- 29:45So this is like a multi faceted dismantling.
- 29:49So good. Good on you for bringing that
- 29:50up. Just comes in for a year, says I
- 29:56don't like the way things are are going around here.
- 29:59I'm going to mix things up. Does the things we just
- 30:02mentioned and then says I'm I'm heading across town.
- 30:05So how how do you feel, Nate, about losing a pinstripe legend
- 30:11three-year, three-year, $51 million deal with the Mets?
- 30:17This has to hurt. Oh I'm devastated.
- 30:20You have to be losing sleep night after night.
- 30:23Devastated. By the way, side tangent, the
- 30:26amount of people on social media that's spelled losing with two
- 30:30O's blows my mind. It's horrendous.
- 30:37Why is it it's so common anyway? The Mets yet again just grabbing
- 30:44some sloppy seconds from from the Yankees.
- 30:46I mean, this is just a seems like an annual tradition at this
- 30:51point. Enjoy.
- 30:55I don't know, like we the guy was awful.
- 30:58He was, he was miserable and he has like the worst body language
- 31:04I've ever seen on, on a, on a any pitcher ever on a mound
- 31:08before. That's that's so far.
- 31:12So far from being. Correct.
- 31:15Watch any highlights in a Yu and you're like, somebody kick this
- 31:26guy's dog every day in front of him.
- 31:30The guy was just beaten down. The man punted Baxter.
- 31:38Good movie, just high maintenance and refused.
- 31:45To Did he attend the school of Marcus Stroman?
- 31:49Probably there's a little bit of that rubbed off, I believe a
- 31:53little bit of that. Was he a student?
- 31:56There he's just soft with AW, like SAWFT soft.
- 32:01Oh. Yeah.
- 32:03Yeah, you're going to. You're going to sign your name
- 32:04to that take. Yes, Devin Williams.
- 32:09And spelling right after telling everybody they spelled losing
- 32:12wrong. SAWFT SWFT see ya, have fun.
- 32:18I don't like what you think the the lights aren't as bright over
- 32:22there like it. Mets fans are miserable.
- 32:27Well, I mean, I'm a Red Sox fan and I can even acknowledge that
- 32:32the lights aren't as bright in Queens.
- 32:33Who are we kidding? But there's who are we kidding?
- 32:36It's still it's still the added pressure.
- 32:38It's still you guys suck. It's still the oh, all this
- 32:42money, like I I don't know, I good luck.
- 32:45I don't he's he's was awful as a closer.
- 32:49The only way he was like somewhat manageable down the
- 32:54stretch is because like they had to pick and choose when they
- 32:57used him and it it was as a setup man, if not more like a
- 33:02middle relief. Like he was awful.
- 33:06I don't, I don't know, maybe that's maybe it was a fluke.
- 33:10I don't know. But like, but clearly there's a
- 33:15disconnect. Something in the water in
- 33:18Milwaukee, I guess. I don't know, That's like maybe
- 33:21that's the like the stuff in Space Jam, you know, special
- 33:26stuff, not the New York water. Good for bagels, bad for Devin
- 33:35Williams. Realistically though, you think
- 33:41based on what you saw, you think I mean like what do you think
- 33:49happens with the Mets? Do you do you think it ends up
- 33:52better for him there than in the Bronx?
- 33:54Do you think it's going to be more of the same?
- 33:57Do you think it's going to somehow be worse because it's
- 33:59the Mets? I don't, I, it's hard to say
- 34:04because like, like we just had this conversation about like
- 34:06Sonny Gray, like there, there's certain pictures that like the
- 34:09philosophy just doesn't work in certain places.
- 34:12And like, the Yankees are very specific about how they go about
- 34:16their pitching philosophy. And some guys fit and some guys
- 34:20don't. And I maybe I mean, he he
- 34:28complained about the, the pitch calling for a while.
- 34:31And it was the first few months of, you know, not agreeing.
- 34:34And then he puts the little thing on his belt and he starts
- 34:37calling pitches. And it's like, well, now what?
- 34:40You're calling your own pitches and you still suck.
- 34:41And like, I don't, I don't know what we what we.
- 34:46Yeah, the guy. What a waste.
- 34:48Honestly. Bring back the beard policy just
- 34:51because of this. Well, I'm glad you brought that
- 34:54up because I was, I was going to if you didn't.
- 34:56Is that, is there any what? What's the deal there?
- 34:58Are they? Is it?
- 34:59Is there a realistic chance they bring this thing back?
- 35:02I freaking hope so. Well, when you say beard policy,
- 35:04you mean no, no facial hair. Facial hair policy, yeah, but
- 35:09yeah is. The what the The Yankees said
- 35:12that they had been having this discussion for years and that
- 35:17how had been approaching different people in the
- 35:19organization to get their opinion players.
- 35:22And then it really kind of said something when Devin Williams
- 35:26came over and was like, hey, like just a heads up.
- 35:31Like I'm not about it. And I'm pretty sure there's
- 35:33other guys in the league that like specifically will say no to
- 35:36coming here because of this. Which in my mind.
- 35:40I, I don't know how you don't know that, right?
- 35:43So I, I don't know, I, I know everyone's like, oh, it's they
- 35:48changed the policy for him. I, it's hard to say.
- 35:50I don't know, I don't really care.
- 35:52I I I'm glad he's gone. As a as a, as a non Yankee fan,
- 35:57I got to say it would have. I don't know.
- 36:06We've, we've had this conversation, like what we, we
- 36:08talked about it when they made the announcement that they are
- 36:10getting rid of the rule. Yeah, but I had to, and I, I
- 36:13feel like I said this back when they announced it, that even
- 36:17though personally I think it's, I think it's fine to have facial
- 36:22hair and play baseball at the Major League level.
- 36:24I do think it is unique that the Yankees have that.
- 36:28I think that it's unique that they've had it for what, almost
- 36:3050 years? However, I feel like it would
- 36:35have been a little more interesting if the year they did
- 36:40it would have been their World Series run well technically last
- 36:45year, but two seasons ago now 2024.
- 36:49And I'm like OK, like this is interesting.
- 36:51Maybe it like effects? You know.
- 36:53Yeah, maybe there's something there, but they do it in a year
- 36:57when nothing happens ultimately, and it's prompted by a guy
- 37:03that's now playing across the street a year later.
- 37:06That's that's what's so funny. Like this to me is a thing that
- 37:10would happen to the Mets, ironically enough.
- 37:12Like this just seems like it would be some a little bit of an
- 37:15identity crisis. Yeah, that's the Mets, just
- 37:17Mets. And but yeah, it it happened to
- 37:19the Yankees. So that's what's interesting.
- 37:21I mean, look, it's. I think Devin Williams catfished
- 37:26a lot of people. I think we thought that guy had
- 37:30a tough jawline and then that beard went away.
- 37:33It was like your chin. You got a soft chin, guy, and
- 37:38now we can see. AWF.
- 37:41T Yeah. And now we can see that like
- 37:44you're, you're kind of soft because of this, you've been
- 37:48outed. Hence, you know, the poor
- 37:50performance. I think that explains all of it.
- 37:53Wow. Bring the bring the policy back.
- 37:55Honestly, I I think that's funny.
- 38:00Devin Williams added the newest name on Nate's list.
- 38:07The list doesn't even have a name, but it's.
- 38:09It's this list. We had the same record as the
- 38:11Blue Jays and that guy blew like 17 games last year.
- 38:15So I buy, enjoy I was. Genuine, it got to the point it
- 38:24was so bad. I got to the point where I was I
- 38:26was excited when Devin Williams was getting was getting the
- 38:30call. It was insane.
- 38:33I was like, how, how creatively are they going to lose this game
- 38:36it. Took so long to take him out of
- 38:39that spot and I didn't understand why because he was a
- 38:43rental. That was nuts.
- 38:50Another reliever from the aforementioned Mets?
- 38:55Ryan Helsley. I'll be at a short stay heading
- 38:58to Baltimore on a 2 year deal worth $28 million with an opt
- 39:04out after the first season. Talking about a guy that was
- 39:09kind of booty cheeks his what was it his last two months, I
- 39:14believe posted A-772-O that's. The start of my phone number.
- 39:23Sure is don't I don't want to doxy JB.
- 39:29Didn't want me to put it out there.
- 39:31No. I'll put it out there, I'll put
- 39:36it out there, posted a 720. Millions of people watching.
- 39:42Posted a 720. 202. Relax guy, relax.
- 39:56So I don't know, we've been we, I'm going to keep, I'm going to
- 40:03keep saying it. We've been clamoring.
- 40:05I I won't speak for you, but I've been clamoring for the
- 40:08Orioles to just make some moves. And I'm not talking about no
- 40:15disrespect, I'm not talking about Tyler O'Neill like I'm
- 40:19talking actual long term moves, not a Corbin Burns.
- 40:26As great as that worked out for them, at least in the short
- 40:29term, I'm talking substantial long term moves to where you're
- 40:39spending money, you're spending your your your prospect capital
- 40:44that you so obviously have and the league knows it to improve
- 40:50your Major League ready team at the Major League level now like.
- 40:59Yeah, stop doing lottery tickets.
- 41:00This and I'm stupid. No, I mean, I'm not like I know
- 41:03I said all that to it may sound like I'm knocking this move.
- 41:06It's not that I'm knocking this move, but it's like, OK, this
- 41:11and what else? Like what else are you planning
- 41:13to do? Because I'll be honest, I
- 41:15haven't heard, I haven't heard the O's really seriously
- 41:21connected to much of anything this offseason.
- 41:25And I, I, I know I've said it before, I've pretty much done a,
- 41:32I've, I've done a pretty good job of staying out of the rumor
- 41:35mills, you know, staying out of the, the nonsense in a little.
- 41:39Bit. I'm, I know it's a slippery
- 41:42slope. I understand that right?
- 41:45So I'm doing what I can to stay away from that slope because I
- 41:48know the second I look over the edge, it's all it's literally
- 41:52downhill from there. But even for the stuff I've seen
- 41:56it, you know, high level stuff, I'm not really seeing them tied
- 42:01to much. So it's like if you're not even
- 42:04like this is the time where everybody seems to be tied to
- 42:08every team is tied to everybody. And if you're not really in the
- 42:10mix, even at this stage of the game, what is that to?
- 42:14I know you're not, I know you're not working in the shadows
- 42:17because you haven't given us any reason to believe that that's
- 42:20what you're doing right now. So what else?
- 42:24What else is there to do? What else are you going to do?
- 42:27And I don't, I just don't. I'm not.
- 42:29I'm not filled with much hope if I'm an Orioles fan.
- 42:33Me neither. I don't like it.
- 42:36I don't like, I don't like the way they've been operating for
- 42:38the last year and a half doesn't make any sense.
- 42:43You have a bunch of pieces. You have only so many guys that
- 42:49you can play and you're like Gary Sanchez.
- 42:57Let's do that. Tyler O'Neill.
- 43:01Feminist. Like what?
- 43:04Dude, forgot about that name. How?
- 43:06About that poll. That's absurd.
- 43:08What are we doing? Go get people.
- 43:11I don't. I'm lost.
- 43:16Is is Adley Reichman broken? He.
- 43:20He seems to be. A shell of himself What's going
- 43:23on in Baltimore? What's going on in Boston?
- 43:30Sonny Gray. Just I don't know, man.
- 43:35This guy's a clown Oh my. I hate this.
- 43:38You know it, too. You know he's a clown.
- 43:40I know I well, I'm not I'm not going to agree with you as a
- 43:43clown, but I'll I'll agree with you in that I I just don't like
- 43:47this. I wasn't a fan of this the whole
- 43:53and I'll have to Josh. Maybe you can pull him up or
- 43:56Nate, if you're familiar with what with the receipts that are
- 43:58being pulled. Apparently, apparently Yankee
- 44:01fans are clapping back with their seats.
- 44:02I didn't get that far into the end of the game with this whole
- 44:05situation, but I did I I saw the comments that he made.
- 44:09He said quote. It feels good to me to go to and
- 44:12for those, if you've been living under a rock, Sonny Gray sign
- 44:14with the Red Sox recently and after the fact, I think after it
- 44:20was made official, was talking about, you know, how it, how it
- 44:22feels to be here and yadda, yadda, yadda, and was talking
- 44:25about his stint with the Yankees.
- 44:26He said it feels good to me to go to a place now where, you
- 44:28know what, it's easy to hate the Yankees, right?
- 44:31The Yankees stint just wasn't a good situation for me.
- 44:34It wasn't a great setup for me and my family.
- 44:37I never wanted to go there in the 1st place when that was
- 44:40happening and we were in Oakland and getting traded.
- 44:43That was a long time ago. I never wanted to go there.
- 44:45So so then I was there with the Yankees and it just didn't
- 44:49really work for who I am. But the the line that's being,
- 44:53you know, hyper fixated on is the part where he says I never
- 44:59wanted to go there in the first place.
- 45:03Why why he wants to sauce. No, he doesn't.
- 45:10He he's Sonny Gray. He doesn't he's he's not about
- 45:13that. He he's this only puts an
- 45:18unnecessary target on his back for I don't know the wrong
- 45:24reasons. It just it, this seems so
- 45:26pointless. Like there's no, I'm all for a
- 45:29guy coming in and and trying to like rile up the, the, you know,
- 45:36the fan base in the city and all that.
- 45:38I I get that, but like just do it in a way that resonates with
- 45:46those people and not like this. Like when Martine Perez came
- 45:50into town, he was quoted, I don't know if it was on Carabas
- 45:54podcast or some other media outlet, but he was, he was like,
- 45:58you know what? F the Yankees.
- 46:00And everybody was getting all hyped up because like, all
- 46:02right, yeah, this guy just comes in.
- 46:03He's he's going to try to, you know, light up the Yankees when
- 46:06he's on the bump. I'm like, OK, that's fine.
- 46:09Like you come in, you make it clear they're like, OK, I don't
- 46:11really like the Yankees, but to go in and like and and reference
- 46:15the time that you were there and try to like rewrite history like
- 46:19I'm it just wasn't sitting right with me.
- 46:22And I'm like that you could have easily just not taken this route
- 46:26and just avoided this. And now it's a story and now
- 46:29people are talking about it. And now it's going to carry into
- 46:32the 2026 season, no doubt. But then what I was saying
- 46:35earlier is there was apparently people pulling receipts from
- 46:38things he had said, I guess while he was in New York or when
- 46:41he got, you know, when he, when he got moved there.
- 46:44I don't know. I didn't go that far back.
- 46:46I don't remember what he said. Did he?
- 46:48Did he say he enjoyed it when he was there?
- 46:50I don't know. There was something about
- 46:52because it got further into this same interview where he said all
- 46:56this stuff the the last couple days, 'cause he was wearing a
- 46:592007 World Series hat, which again, if you don't know, the
- 47:04Red Sox won. How did they win that one?
- 47:07Remember that one? How did they win that?
- 47:08One swept the Rockies. I sure did.
- 47:10Yep, Yep, Yep. He had talked about how he loved
- 47:17the 2007 World Series team and that he followed because he was
- 47:21in high school and he followed them and it was like a big deal
- 47:26for him. Well, the the receipts that are
- 47:29coming out is when right after he got traded to the Yankees, he
- 47:32did the same thing and said the same thing about the two 2009
- 47:35World Series with CC and AJ Burnett and how he loved to
- 47:39witness that. And they said he loved New York.
- 47:43He was happy to that he landed there like it during his press
- 47:46conference. So it's like you're just running
- 47:49it back. But now, like why don't you just
- 47:51admit that you sucked like you weren't good and it was a bad
- 47:55like it's fine to say it's a bad fit.
- 47:57There's nothing wrong with that. I appreciate players kind of
- 48:00putting the PC answer and like the copy paste answer to the
- 48:04side and actually being honest, have some accountability.
- 48:07Exactly. Don't don't like manufacture
- 48:09this like weird. Like I hated it there.
- 48:13I always hated it. It's like you just sound like a
- 48:16child at this point. So good luck.
- 48:19I It's going to be interesting. I don't like the honestly, now
- 48:24that now that you're talking about it, like with the
- 48:25manufacturing element of it, that combined with, with, with
- 48:30Schlittler, there's there's too much manufacturing going on with
- 48:35this rivalry. We need like.
- 48:36Schlitz, a dog. I like him.
- 48:39OK, Yeah, we'll also soft. We'll see about that.
- 48:43What? No, you know what's going to
- 48:44happen? You know, what's going to happen
- 48:46with that is now that Devers is out of the equation, Kohl's,
- 48:51Garrett, Garrett Cole's in the clear.
- 48:54Now we're just going to have to figure out who on this current
- 48:56Red Sox team is going to fill Rafi's role.
- 49:00And now Schlittler is going to be the new Cole and he's going
- 49:03to pair up with the with the Red Sox bat that's just going to own
- 49:06him for the next 4, however many years.
- 49:09That's what's inevitably going to happen.
- 49:10But that's besides the point. There's too much manufacturing
- 49:13going on in this rivalry now, and it should, it should never
- 49:17be that way. There's no need to manufacture
- 49:20like. There's too much.
- 49:23I hate in the in the equation here that none of that should be
- 49:26happening. Well, we talked about it like I
- 49:28think last year, I don't remember specifically who, but
- 49:33I'm just we're, I'm just very over the like, Oh, here's a
- 49:36picture of me as a kid in Little League wearing this team.
- 49:40Like I've been, I've been rooting for this team since I.
- 49:42Was I said you had a choice. But it's like, OK dude,
- 49:45whatever. Like I, we've all played on
- 49:49stupid teams when we were in Little League and there's bound
- 49:53to be a year that ends up being correlating with like where we
- 49:56are in real life. You know what I mean?
- 49:58It's like, well. For the record, for the record,
- 50:00my first ever T-ball team, I was a Philly and I am an honorary
- 50:06Phillies fan, so. I was a Rocky.
- 50:09I'm an honorary Rocky fan. There you go.
- 50:12I was a Cardinal a lot. A lot.
- 50:17We sure were. We we shared many, many, yeah,
- 50:23many teams. Were in Astro.
- 50:26Yeah, man, if, if I ever, if I pulled a rookie and I I made it
- 50:30to the bigs at 40 and they they wanted to pull a a picture, I'll
- 50:35try it out. I'll try it out.
- 50:37If they wanted to pull a Little League picture, I've got plenty
- 50:40of teams they could choose from. I was a member of the White Sox.
- 50:44I was a Diamondback. I was a Astro As.
- 50:48Well, yeah. That was the purple and teal.
- 50:51That was, that was nice. Real nice, yeah.
- 50:55Orioles, Cubs, Mariners. I was an oriole.
- 50:59Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I. Was a national and a giant.
- 51:07I was also Blue Jay. Crazy, I don't even remember
- 51:11there being a Blue Jay and. I was, I was, I was young.
- 51:15I was young, young days. I was a Ranger.
- 51:17I, I mean, I, I covered, I covered my bases.
- 51:20Man, I see when I'm like enough stop trying to dig up and like
- 51:24it's, it's, it's stupid. Just go this is like your fifth
- 51:30team. Just go say I want to help this
- 51:33team win. And like, and you know, I didn't
- 51:37like my time in New York. I didn't do well.
- 51:39And you know, I'm excited to go pitch there again now that I've
- 51:44developed into who I am. You know what I mean?
- 51:47Like I don't something it's it's very easy to to throw shade
- 51:51subtly versus like this like weird.
- 51:54Like I actually never liked it there and I never wanted to go
- 51:58there. OK bro, sounds good.
- 52:03Speaking of helping A-Team, a guy that most likely won't even
- 52:08have to worry about doing that this year, Anthony Rendon, the
- 52:13Angels are talking about buying out this last year of his
- 52:20contract. Sorry that I mean, that was that
- 52:25was a little disrespectful. I'm sorry.
- 52:28I think it was right on. But I'm kind of over it, kind of
- 52:32over it. Go away.
- 52:34I'm super tired of this. Angels are talking about buying
- 52:36out the last $38 million. What's the I guess?
- 52:44He's appeared in 205 of the 810 games, 205 out of 810 games.
- 52:57Anthony Rendon also vocally being like baseball's not the
- 53:01most important thing. It's like, OK, guy sounds good.
- 53:10What what's the buyout? I don't I fill me in here.
- 53:15I guess maybe I don't know ball what I don't understand the
- 53:18whole like, can we just release him?
- 53:21I know the money's guaranteed, but like what's the advantage of
- 53:23buying him out versus just releasing him?
- 53:28I don't. I guess I just don't know the
- 53:29difference really. I don't know how, like I don't
- 53:35know how the the details of that process fall into into place,
- 53:40but the the angels and Boris would have to finalize it.
- 53:45So it's more I think it's more complex than it just then
- 53:49something being triggered and then it him just riding off into
- 53:53the sunset. I think there has to be a a more
- 53:58intense conversation that has to follow suit.
- 54:02Once Upon a time, I feel like I heard something.
- 54:05I don't know if it's true or not, but do teams take out like
- 54:12insurance policies on these contracts?
- 54:17You know what I mean? This is a conversation that we
- 54:21had, where we talked, where. We talked about.
- 54:23This where we said that it should be something that happens
- 54:26but that it doesn't. Or or does it?
- 54:28I think they can. I think they have.
- 54:32It's just not as it's not a an everyday occurrence necessarily.
- 54:35Yeah, yeah. I don't know.
- 54:39I don't really know. You know what it was we had, I
- 54:42think we had this conversation when Strat, when that Strasburg
- 54:46saga was going down, when they were just like, yeah, actually,
- 54:49no, we're we don't really like you anymore.
- 54:52See ya. That was weird.
- 54:53Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think that's when we when we
- 54:57revisited this conversation. I, I, I want to say that that's
- 55:00a thing. I I have a feeling it's a thing,
- 55:08but like the most head and most hated man in baseball,
- 55:11potentially I. Mean I.
- 55:16Mean he doesn't. Like baseball?
- 55:18Yeah. Yeah, so hate and baseball go
- 55:22together in the same sentence when it comes to Anthony
- 55:25Randone, I guess you could say. But I mean, worst contract for
- 55:29sure. Yeah, without a doubt.
- 55:32Right. I mean, yeah.
- 55:35I think so. Played 1/4 of the games.
- 55:40Not even. 200 and I'll say it again, 205 out of 810 games over
- 55:48the past five seasons, that's terrible.
- 55:55And like you said, if you threw in some some bites over the last
- 55:59few years of him being like nothing more, like I love
- 56:05nothing more than this game. I mean, obviously taking into
- 56:07account family and all that, but you know the guy, you've heard
- 56:10guys come by like, I love this game, man.
- 56:13Nothing in this world means more to me than just going out there,
- 56:16just giving it all for my team, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 56:19I just don't feel like we really got that sentiment.
- 56:22And even if we did, it wasn't commonplace enough given the
- 56:26circumstances. The things that stood out were
- 56:30the the, you remember the year where they like didn't disclose
- 56:35the injury or something and he was sort of dismissive of the
- 56:39whole thing. Yeah.
- 56:40And then like the trainer was like, Nah, he's actually fine.
- 56:43Like that whole thing? Yeah, and then you got the
- 56:46scuffle in Oakland with the fan. Swung at a guy, just super.
- 56:50This guy sucks. Get it.
- 56:51Go away. Just a super bizarre, just a
- 56:56fall off is what it was really like a massive, massive fall
- 57:01off. So yeah, I, I mean, injuries
- 57:05suck. I'm not going to sit here and
- 57:07like be happy that the guy like missed so much time because if
- 57:13you even remotely care about baseball, like.
- 57:15I think there's injuries and then there's this.
- 57:18Yes, I think Byron Buxton has an injury.
- 57:23You know, a history full of injury, but like the guy still
- 57:27gets out there and plays and gives it his best and you know,
- 57:32because of his style of play, he kind of forces his way into
- 57:36another injury. Anthony Rendon just like doesn't
- 57:40do anything. It nothing.
- 57:45So let me ask you this. He's got the 2026 contract that
- 57:49he's signed for, right? Guaranteed money, 38 million,
- 57:53all that stuff. This is the last year on his
- 57:55contract. What the Angels are really
- 57:57saying is we don't want you to play for us anymore.
- 58:00So let's work something out. If I release you right now, I
- 58:04have to pay you $38 million. So instead, let's do something
- 58:07mutual here. Let me defer some of that money.
- 58:10Give me some payroll flexibility right now.
- 58:13There's no way Boris is going to let him walk away without it $38
- 58:16million. And if you're doing him a.
- 58:18Minimum. Minimum.
- 58:19Minimum, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 58:21If you're doing, if you're doing, the team is solid.
- 58:23I'm probably going to, if I'm Scott, Boris, knowing the way
- 58:26that he works, he's going to ask for a little bit more.
- 58:28Let's defer some of that money, give you some flexibility, I'll
- 58:31walk away. We don't have to talk about it
- 58:32anymore. But like 10 years from now,
- 58:34we're still going to be talking about the fact that they're
- 58:36paying $4,000,000 to Anthony Redone.
- 58:39Right, and that's that's what I'm saying with the optics with
- 58:41him and his situation are so bad right now.
- 58:44If it if the report came out, they're like, hey, the buyout
- 58:46agreement between the team and Boris was that they they
- 58:49actually bumped it up to, you know, whatever amount.
- 58:53I don't know what they would bump that up to, but so that
- 58:56they could defer it and sort of make up, you know, sort of
- 58:59bridge that gap a little bit. You're telling me that the
- 59:04optics aren't going to be 10 times worse if, if it comes out
- 59:08that like they're actually on the hook for more for longer
- 59:12like that. I mean, I, I totally hear what
- 59:14you're saying and like, and I think payroll flexibility here
- 59:17and now is very important, especially if you're just trying
- 59:20to get him out the door. But I'm like, I, I just don't
- 59:23see a situation where the, the angels come out looking good
- 59:28here like it. Anyway, I feel like you go, it's
- 59:31going to it's going to look bad. Didn't they just sign Alec
- 59:34Manoa? Yeah, let's talk about it.
- 59:37Alec, Manoah and the Angels agreed on a deal.
- 59:42I don't on a, on a deal yesterday, one year deal worth
- 59:45$1.95 million. And quite frankly, I feel like
- 59:49that's $1.95 million too much at the the unnecessary nature of
- 1:00:00this move cannot be stressed enough.
- 1:00:05I mean what are why? The slap in the face that it is
- 1:00:09to your prospects at at at a certain point where it's like,
- 1:00:14I'd rather just see what we have in our system.
- 1:00:17And I know this is probably the worst system to say that about,
- 1:00:21specifically about pitching, but I'd rather see what we have in a
- 1:00:25guy I don't understand. Well, I mean, where are we at
- 1:00:30with the with the guys that they drafted that was that three
- 1:00:34years ago now, or the whole draft, the whole draft, just
- 1:00:37pictures like where are we at with their development?
- 1:00:40Because maybe we're at a point where it's like, all right, you
- 1:00:43know, now, now maybe we. Can one of those Tik toks where
- 1:00:46there was like where are these draft picks now?
- 1:00:48And it went over that and I think there's only like 1 of
- 1:00:51them that still relevant. Five of five of their top six
- 1:00:57prospects are pictures right now.
- 1:01:00And that's what I'm saying. It's like what?
- 1:01:01I, let's give that guy a shot. To be fair, you're not going to
- 1:01:07compete. You're not going to go win
- 1:01:09immediately, especially with nearly $40 million tied up in
- 1:01:16the waste of space of Rendon. It's like I why not use somebody
- 1:01:22who's I and I? I'm not saying that the 1.95 is
- 1:01:25like a a huge cap hit here, but it's like.
- 1:01:29No, but it's still too much. We know what he is.
- 1:01:32We know what the we know. We already know.
- 1:01:36Go I'd I'd rather them go sign Joey Gallo that's trying to come
- 1:01:40back as a pitcher than Alec Manila.
- 1:01:43This is dumb. Let your prospects come up and
- 1:01:46prove it. Freaking angels.
- 1:01:52Not to mention trading for Grayson Rodriguez.
- 1:01:57Oh I forgot about that. What a dumpster fire.
- 1:02:04I don't know, I've had a little bit of time.
- 1:02:06No, I feel like even in the moment when we talked about it,
- 1:02:08I wasn't like I wasn't, I wasn't completely against it.
- 1:02:12Like I, I mean, I think there's some, I, I feel like there's
- 1:02:16some upside there. It's just that's just a a.
- 1:02:21Let's roll the dice. Let's recap at the end of this
- 1:02:23offseason and just list off the number of moves and what moves
- 1:02:28the Angels made. I'm going to hate most of them.
- 1:02:35That's a quote. That's a quote.
- 1:02:38Let's get into some DMS, shall we?
- 1:02:41Yeah, please? Max asks.
- 1:02:44JB hits me with a don't forget Regas and Rodriguez like oh.
- 1:02:50I. Want to, I want to visit all the
- 1:02:52ballparks. I don't think I ever want to go
- 1:02:54there. I it's a decent ballpark, but I
- 1:02:57just I I what a garbage organization.
- 1:03:08Max asks. Actually, hold on real quick,
- 1:03:13what's a surprise stadium that most people or would would
- 1:03:18consider like not good that you would be more willing to go to
- 1:03:22than Angel Stadium? A surprise stadium, like one
- 1:03:28that might, you know, shock us a little bit 'cause it's commonly
- 1:03:32labeled as maybe a little little Doo Doo ballpark that you would
- 1:03:37be more willing to go to than Anaheim.
- 1:03:41Miami. Really.
- 1:03:45Yeah. Yes.
- 1:03:50Wow. Yeah.
- 1:03:52That's that's the kind of answer I was looking for.
- 1:03:54Well done, Bravo. I was just curious.
- 1:03:56I was just curious because I mean, I don't, I mean, I I I
- 1:04:00can't imagine Anaheim being that bad.
- 1:04:03Is it? Is it that bad?
- 1:04:05I mean, I'd rather go to Anaheim than like a White Sox game.
- 1:04:09Sure, I've been there. That's the most boring ballpark
- 1:04:14ever. I was 8 and I knew that.
- 1:04:18Oh, you wait, you've been there. Yeah, I don't.
- 1:04:21Were you on that team? We were like we were in, I think
- 1:04:25like the Midwest and then we were taking like a road trip
- 1:04:27back and someone on the team was connected with Rocco Baldelli
- 1:04:33when he was a Devil Ray. Like at one point I had AI had a
- 1:04:38ball signed by Rocco Baldelli as a Devil Ray, and we went there
- 1:04:43and I remember getting a Frank Thomas pin because it was the
- 1:04:48day after he had just hit like his 400th home run.
- 1:04:52Wow. Vibes are high.
- 1:04:54I was not there I've. Never been there and I'm like
- 1:04:56this place stinks like. I've never been to rate field.
- 1:05:03I think there was US Cellular back then.
- 1:05:09That sounds right. But I remember being there with
- 1:05:12my team and Rocco Bell delis like coming out of the dugout
- 1:05:15and be like, what's up, boys? And like, throwing us signed
- 1:05:18baseballs like Rocco, yeah, didn't know who he was.
- 1:05:25Go on to lead the Twins to. Mediocrity.
- 1:05:29No, I'm just kidding. That's that's disrespectful.
- 1:05:31That's disrespectful. Ricochets just.
- 1:05:36Factual Factual Ricochets Max wants to know the greatest
- 1:05:40championship, trophy and pro team sports between the
- 1:05:43NHLNFLNBA and MLB. Greatest trophy?
- 1:05:48Like physically the trophy, yeah, I don't.
- 1:05:54I mean, it's kind of a hot take. I don't think the Vince Lombardi
- 1:05:56trophy is all that great. I think it's an OK trophy.
- 1:06:02I think it's just kind of a boring trophy.
- 1:06:05I'm gonna go ahead and say the Stanley Cup.
- 1:06:06The Stanley Cup is hands down the right hand.
- 1:06:10It's not really hot to take, but like.
- 1:06:12It's a mini fridge and it's like it's sick.
- 1:06:16It's dope. I mean, I love what they do in
- 1:06:18hockey, and I mean, this is in fact what they do, correct?
- 1:06:23They it's the same trophy and it just gets passed around and it
- 1:06:28just gets updated. All the guys just drink booze
- 1:06:31out of. It drink it.
- 1:06:31Yeah, I mean come on like that's cool.
- 1:06:34You wanted to I mean no disrespect to their sports that
- 1:06:37obviously you you you have to work to earn that.
- 1:06:41I'm not saying the other sports don't, but like you want to talk
- 1:06:43about having to earn like a trophy that you got to earn like
- 1:06:47that, you're putting life in a limb out there.
- 1:06:51There's something legendary about the size of it, and then
- 1:06:53them like skating around after they win it and there's just one
- 1:06:56guy holding it up and it's like a Oh yeah, a.
- 1:06:58Full on trash can. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:07:01Like that thing's huge. I'm not a, I'm not, I'm not
- 1:07:05necessarily a hockey guy, but when either when you mention
- 1:07:08that, my mind immediately goes to OV because I mean, obviously
- 1:07:11not too far, but that's the big, that's the, that's the image
- 1:07:15that plays in everyone's head around here.
- 1:07:16So. Yeah, that's that's the right
- 1:07:18answer. I can't even, I can't even
- 1:07:23really think of the NBA trophy. I had to.
- 1:07:26I just had to look it up. It's.
- 1:07:27Gold with the ball, it's it's like.
- 1:07:30Oh, it's like on the rim. Oh that's that one sucks.
- 1:07:34Is that? I don't think it's supposed to.
- 1:07:36Be like a rim, right? Oh I guess there is like a net
- 1:07:39imprint on the gold base it it looks close to NFL.
- 1:07:44Yeah, I was going to say it it it's like Lombardi esque.
- 1:07:47It is. Oh yeah.
- 1:07:48Yeah, I see. OK.
- 1:07:49Isn't the MVP trophy just like the same thing, just smaller?
- 1:07:56I don't know. Feel like it is the NBA.
- 1:07:58I will say the Stanley Cup had it even goes further.
- 1:08:02Than that I think it is, yeah. My father-in-law.
- 1:08:05My father in law's strike out at the Stanley Cup.
- 1:08:08Yeah, that's. Like the fan bases get to do it,
- 1:08:10you know what I mean? Yeah, that's sick, dude.
- 1:08:13I I love, I do love our World Series trophy.
- 1:08:17I think it is it, it's a very creative trophy.
- 1:08:20I I think it's a beautiful. Trophy.
- 1:08:23It really is. Artistically.
- 1:08:25Oh yeah, but like. It's hard to beat a mini fridge
- 1:08:28that's got a ton of things etched in it, you know what I
- 1:08:31mean? That's.
- 1:08:33Dents and bruises and yeah, and. The guys just take it home, like
- 1:08:36eating a bowl of cereal out of it, like that's.
- 1:08:39Going back to Ovie, didn't he? I mean, I'm sure a bunch of guys
- 1:08:41have, but he like, slept with it the night they won or something.
- 1:08:44Yeah, crazy, crazy. Well, I guess they didn't sleep
- 1:08:48that night, but maybe. What were the other options?
- 1:08:50Was there anything else? Was it just their?
- 1:08:52Just the four. Four major ones.
- 1:08:54The NBA should just ship it in, by the way.
- 1:08:56It's that thing is. Agreed.
- 1:09:00That that week isn't. Dire Straits Speaking of the
- 1:09:04league, Chris wants to know what are our plans to keep the MLB
- 1:09:08from going on strike in 2027? What are our thoughts
- 1:09:12physically? Yep.
- 1:09:13What are what are our thoughts? Yeah, the the what do we?
- 1:09:15Need to do. Well, I mean, I think, you know,
- 1:09:21calling a spade a spade, here we are.
- 1:09:24You know, we're historically pro players.
- 1:09:26So you we got to look at this through the lens of, you know,
- 1:09:29coming to the table on the side of the MLBPA.
- 1:09:34So that's the side of the the discussion table we will be on.
- 1:09:39So what is it that we're going to throw out there?
- 1:09:41It's. Hard to say, man.
- 1:09:52I don't, I don't know where like the biggest issues are for the
- 1:09:54players at the moment. Like I feel like the players are
- 1:09:57coming out on top more often than not.
- 1:10:01You know, I feel like things are pretty solid at the moment.
- 1:10:05I know they're not, but like I in the in from the player's
- 1:10:07perspective, it's like, what more could you want?
- 1:10:11I I know the salary stuff is like the biggest thing.
- 1:10:14That is the biggest thing and I you know, we look at like the
- 1:10:17the rule changes that have been proposed in previous Cbas and
- 1:10:21things like that. And at the end of the day, you
- 1:10:24know, players are going to, you know, share their thoughts on
- 1:10:27social media and, you know, have their sound bites and this and
- 1:10:30that. But at the end of the day, you
- 1:10:33know, let's let's be real here. They're not looking at that with
- 1:10:37the same weight that they're looking at the conversation of
- 1:10:41salary cap and salary floor like that.
- 1:10:44That's what the players care most about.
- 1:10:46That's what these owners care most about.
- 1:10:48And I feel like that's really coming to a head with this
- 1:10:53upcoming CBA. And I feel like that's the
- 1:10:55primary talking point. And if I, I don't know, like if
- 1:11:00they can't it, it's, it sounds like we're, it's, it's, it's
- 1:11:06basically guaranteed that we're not playing.
- 1:11:08Like that's, that's kind of the vibe that I'm getting that we're
- 1:11:10just not, we may as well just, you know, you mentioned shipping
- 1:11:13it in. Sounds like you may as well ship
- 1:11:15in the 2027 season. So, you know, I, I don't know if
- 1:11:20there's anything you can throw out there that would avoid that
- 1:11:25because they're going to they're you.
- 1:11:26We saw how the last CBA went. They get so entrenched.
- 1:11:30You saw how the, the, the COVID stuff went down.
- 1:11:33You just get so entrenched in your, in your points of view.
- 1:11:36You, you get, you get in these echo chambers on social.
- 1:11:40You get, like I said, you get these players sharing their
- 1:11:42thoughts and opinions about the, the individual issues on social.
- 1:11:46And then the fans like, yeah, we're with you.
- 1:11:50And then you get the people that are like, stop being stop being
- 1:11:52babies. You play a kids game for
- 1:11:54millions of dollars and it just ends up being this big mess and
- 1:11:58then we get nowhere. So I don't, I legitimately, I
- 1:12:02just don't know if there's anything I can.
- 1:12:03Throw out there that's what I'm saying is that I feel like I
- 1:12:06feel like MLBPA has won in these past agreements.
- 1:12:13I feel like that, you know, like the minor league guys are
- 1:12:15getting paid more, they're getting more security.
- 1:12:18You have the, the, the whole revenue sharing, right?
- 1:12:23Like we saw that with, I think it is the A's this past year of
- 1:12:27like needing to get over a certain threshold for payroll to
- 1:12:31in order to qualify or continue to qualify for revenue sharing.
- 1:12:35Like I, I think there's, there's certain things that are going in
- 1:12:39the right direction for the players perspective.
- 1:12:42I get where they're coming from as far as the, you know, owners
- 1:12:46needing to spend thing, but like, I don't know, man, I don't
- 1:12:52know. I didn't.
- 1:12:55We probably, we don't have enough time for all of my
- 1:12:58thoughts on this. You know that yeah, coming from
- 1:13:02a broke franchise fan over here. However, I will say that I don't
- 1:13:08think that that's entirely true. I think there's some of that
- 1:13:13with minor leagues getting paid and everything, but there are
- 1:13:16more players in the league pre ARB then are getting $300
- 1:13:21million contracts. And so I, I think that the idea
- 1:13:25that like the players have always been getting what they,
- 1:13:28what they want, I think there's a lot more voices, especially
- 1:13:33how young this game is right now.
- 1:13:36There's a lot more voices pre ARB players, even first year ARB
- 1:13:40players who were saying I could, I could stand to make more
- 1:13:43money. And I think any time you start
- 1:13:45talking about revenue sharing increasing, which is what would
- 1:13:50need to happen in order to fund a floor, right, There would need
- 1:13:54to be more revenue sharing money going around in order to fund
- 1:13:58that baseline to go up. As a Pirates fan, I can say the
- 1:14:02Pirates can spend more money, but not to the level of what you
- 1:14:07would think. Like if they if they spent 150
- 1:14:09million, they'd go broke, right? They just, they couldn't do it.
- 1:14:13But, and that's not factual, that's a roundabout number, But
- 1:14:17either way, I think there's a lot that players could get
- 1:14:20earlier in their career. And if you think that something
- 1:14:23like this goes down and players as a result can go to free
- 1:14:28agency after four or five years instead of 6.
- 1:14:32Yeah. You're talking being on this
- 1:14:34side of 30, going to free agency, you know what I mean?
- 1:14:37I could see getting rid of maybe you know, or limiting the pre RB
- 1:14:41years, you know, dropping that down or dropping down the
- 1:14:43overall, you know, years of of protection, you know, and I
- 1:14:47think. Increasing the money.
- 1:14:49And, and probably creating some type of penalty around the, the
- 1:14:55service time manipulation that teams are doing.
- 1:14:58Like, you know, some of that which I think has there, there's
- 1:15:01been different rules that have been added in.
- 1:15:02So it's, I don't know, I'm not smart enough to know how to fix
- 1:15:06it. I think, you know, maybe we just
- 1:15:10kidnap Rob Manfred's granddaughter and and a holder
- 1:15:14for ransom to say, Hey, let's make sure we play in 2020. 7
- 1:15:19Let's let's go on record as saying that's not happening,
- 1:15:26not. Happening.
- 1:15:27We don't know yet. I'll wait for 2027.
- 1:15:33I don't even know if he has a granddaughter, but I'll for sure
- 1:15:36take a dog. He probably has a cat.
- 1:15:41We're on we're, we're on a slippery.
- 1:15:45We're on a. Slippery eyes I would do
- 1:15:46personally. Who?
- 1:15:47Who wrote that? DMI.
- 1:15:50Mean we go from, we go from like we go from revenue sharing to
- 1:15:55kidnapping. That's yeah, that's quite a
- 1:15:58leap. There's only so much I'm capable
- 1:16:02of, Casey and. All right, well, hopefully you
- 1:16:05got a little left in the tank because Murray I need Murray is
- 1:16:10is coming up with a question a week.
- 1:16:13We I feel like we almost seem to make it a stand alone segment.
- 1:16:15Just Murray the Murray question of the week.
- 1:16:18That's fine. Maybe even a little Jingle.
- 1:16:20I don't know the. Murray's Question of the Week.
- 1:16:26Done You like that? There you go.
- 1:16:27I might just clip that. There you go.
- 1:16:30Murray wants to know you're on a deserted island. 3 movies go.
- 1:16:36I don't. Want to go first?
- 1:16:40I know one of the movies I'm taking Miracle I've.
- 1:16:44Oh, good one. The last in the last year I've
- 1:16:46really arrived. I like, I've really grown in my
- 1:16:51conviction that that is one of my all time favorite movies.
- 1:16:54Like, I've always loved that movie, but the last year I'm
- 1:16:56like, I need to, I need to come to terms with the fact that this
- 1:16:59is just an all time favorite for me.
- 1:17:01OK, what else you got? Rounded out, I could throw
- 1:17:06Saving Private Ryan into the mix.
- 1:17:08Good, Really good. Get a little bit of action there
- 1:17:13mixed up with the sports, but probably lean heavy on the
- 1:17:16sports. Invincible is another great one.
- 1:17:20It's been a while, I haven't visited.
- 1:17:21That actually, no, I'm going to go, you know what, I'm going to
- 1:17:24cover my bases here. I'm going to go Miracle, Saving
- 1:17:28Private Ryan and 51st states. Yeah, you almost got to think
- 1:17:35about getting a comedy in there. I hope I'm on a different
- 1:17:40island. I think I'm just going to.
- 1:17:43There will not be any slander of any of those three films.
- 1:17:47We'll just go ahead and get that cleared up.
- 1:17:52No Chris Farley. I said I.
- 1:17:56Can't no Sandlot. I said what?
- 1:17:58I said, OK, this is a conversation for another day.
- 1:18:01We've actually talked about this one here before.
- 1:18:03But the I I will forever love Sandlot, but it's it's harder
- 1:18:10for me. What?
- 1:18:12It's just in its place in time. Yeah, like I can't be, I can't
- 1:18:16carry that into like my, my 70s and 80s be like, hey, this is my
- 1:18:20favorite movie of all time. Like I, I and it was hard.
- 1:18:23It was hard for me to read, like to admit that.
- 1:18:25But like, I'm just, I mean, I'm, I'm, I'm 32 and I, I, I just
- 1:18:32have to look at other, other options here.
- 1:18:35Is it because of the perception of that because you're on a
- 1:18:37deserted island for the rest of your life, there's no other
- 1:18:40people there? You can like whatever you want.
- 1:18:43It's fair. I, I'm not going to say like
- 1:18:45I've outgrown it, like I don't, I don't mean that because I
- 1:18:48still, I still enjoy the movie, but like it's just, I, I think
- 1:18:52it's served its, its role for my, for the appropriate portions
- 1:18:59of my life. And now I need to adjust my.
- 1:19:02I just need to refresh my list, you know?
- 1:19:05You've put more thought into this.
- 1:19:06If I had the same favorite movie list now as I did when I was 10,
- 1:19:12that says a lot about me. You know, I got to got to grow,
- 1:19:16got to grow as as an individual, got to got to make make some,
- 1:19:20some updates. I'll go Gladiator, The Dark
- 1:19:28Knight and I'm in between 2:00. I don't know which way to go.
- 1:19:36You got to go, you said you got to go comedy.
- 1:19:37So you decide between 2:00. Comedies, comedy is not in
- 1:19:40there. That's intense, man, for being
- 1:19:45on a deserted island. I guess the play might be find
- 1:19:50the longest movies. It's either Interstellar or
- 1:19:54Remember the Titans. I would go remember the Titans
- 1:19:58interstellar you're I'm not saying.
- 1:20:01On the plane it's fantastic. I could watch it again tomorrow.
- 1:20:06I know, but that's that's a movie that just gets you in your
- 1:20:09head a little bit. Well, I'm thinking Inception,
- 1:20:13but also Interstellar. Interstellar also kind of, you
- 1:20:16know, gets in your head a little bit and you've already got
- 1:20:18you've got 2 rather rather deep 10 Titans.
- 1:20:24Good. Soundtrack.
- 1:20:26Oh. Fantastic soundtrack.
- 1:20:28Yeah, gets me going. I'll go.
- 1:20:30Remember the Titans. Gladiator, Dark Knight.
- 1:20:32Remember the Titans? Josh, what do you got?
- 1:20:35Oh my gosh, I'm so bad at this. Josh in the corner.
- 1:20:38Almost heroes, Chris. That's it.
- 1:20:40Just I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
- 1:20:43What do you got? Man, it would be hard for me.
- 1:20:47Almost heroes. I don't even know what that
- 1:20:49movie. Is never heard.
- 1:20:50It Chris Farley's last movie, they're him and him and Matthew
- 1:20:55Perry are racing Lewis and Clark to see the Pacific.
- 1:20:58It's hilarious. That sounds funny.
- 1:21:01That does it's. Very.
- 1:21:03Funny, yeah. What's it called?
- 1:21:05Almost Almost heroes. Almost heroes.
- 1:21:08Yeah, and it's like back in time of like with like the Lewis and
- 1:21:11Clark times. That's I might have to give that
- 1:21:15a watch dude. It's so quotable too, probably
- 1:21:19like so if I already have Chris Farley, so maybe Dumb and Dumber
- 1:21:27I I would. It would probably be all comedy
- 1:21:29for me. I I just, I don't have time to
- 1:21:35watch something that doesn't make me laugh.
- 1:21:39The other guy is up there for me, by the way, as far as comedy
- 1:21:42goes. As as far as repeat like re
- 1:21:45watchable movies, that's a that's a great thing.
- 1:21:48That's a good point because like I already almost know some of
- 1:21:52these movies quotables, so like I can't just keep picking them.
- 1:21:57Yeah. Can I?
- 1:21:57Can I cheat? Can I do Ken Burns baseball
- 1:22:00documentary? Oh my God.
- 1:22:04Because. That would that would take a
- 1:22:05long time to get through and that would pass the time.
- 1:22:09That would pass the time. I think I'd rather just have two
- 1:22:11movies. I would.
- 1:22:13Rather, I don't know man. I can't do it.
- 1:22:17Look, I respect the play, I respect the play.
- 1:22:20I love baseball, but. Wow, so I'm on the spot.
- 1:22:25I've never thought about this. I'm not much of a movie guy to
- 1:22:28be honest with you. Like there's movies I've watched
- 1:22:31and I've liked and then like once I've seen it, I don't need
- 1:22:35to watch it again. There's a few that I watch
- 1:22:38again. Comedies.
- 1:22:39But couldn't that go for watching anything like the Ken
- 1:22:42Burns documentary like you once you've seen it?
- 1:22:44Like why would you need to watch it again?
- 1:22:46Yeah, I don't know. That's a good question.
- 1:22:48I guess just. I don't know, it is a good
- 1:22:50question. It's a good like I could vibe
- 1:22:52out and just like lay there and not do anything and it kind of
- 1:22:56like you're in and out of sleep and I mean, you're by yourself
- 1:23:00forever. I don't, I don't know.
- 1:23:02What about TV shows? You do this for TV shows.
- 1:23:05Cheers, hands down. Cheers.
- 1:23:06Not even close. I want.
- 1:23:07Three Let's go. Three TV shows Let's.
- 1:23:09Here's two hours tonight. Let's go 2 hours.
- 1:23:12Let's let's really lock in here. Three TV.
- 1:23:15Shows I'll be bad at this. Casey's definitely got the
- 1:23:18office in there office. Has to be there.
- 1:23:22Yeah, that's good. Oh, shoot, definitely.
- 1:23:40You know, funny enough, we're talking island.
- 1:23:42I would not. I would not have lost on there.
- 1:23:47For. Some reason people love lost
- 1:23:49where I was just we were just talking about that with somebody
- 1:23:51that they just when you. Get to that last season, you're
- 1:23:53like, I wasted the last six months of my life watching.
- 1:23:58And we watched play during like the very beginning of COVID.
- 1:24:01So how do you think we felt? We're like, what are we?
- 1:24:03What is going on in this in the world?
- 1:24:05What is going on with our lives? No spoilers.
- 1:24:07No, maybe the play is something like that.
- 1:24:09Something like Survivor and Castaway.
- 1:24:10You might actually get off this island by the end of it.
- 1:24:13That's true. Great.
- 1:24:15Audi TV is not a bad play either.
- 1:24:17There's like 47 seasons of Survivor so.
- 1:24:22They're on 49 right now. You're getting.
- 1:24:25I'm not just. There's a number out there, no?
- 1:24:26They're literally on 49. Next season, they'll be 50.
- 1:24:29That's big time. What's his name?
- 1:24:31That's a good guess, Jeff. Oh, yeah.
- 1:24:33Jeff, props. That's a good.
- 1:24:37That's a good guess. Yeah.
- 1:24:43Office. You gotta, you gotta wonder, you
- 1:24:47gotta wonder if there's like a game show like you threw out
- 1:24:49like Family Feud or something, you know, 25 years of Family
- 1:24:54Feud shows. No, I went, I went, I took my
- 1:24:57brother, we went to we took him out for like his batch.
- 1:25:01It's just me, him and my dad. We just went out for like his
- 1:25:04bachelor weekend thing. Just went out to a little like
- 1:25:07lake or whatever and they had ATV and it was like the, the
- 1:25:11limited channels that you could choose from and it was like, it
- 1:25:14was, it was the old people game show channel and then like the
- 1:25:18local news station and, and then like a couple others.
- 1:25:20And so like, all right, I guess we're watching family viewed and
- 1:25:23we watch it for like maybe an hour and a half.
- 1:25:26By the end of it, I'm like, I, I've seen.
- 1:25:29I mean, I'd seen it before, but after watching it for an hour
- 1:25:31and a half, I'm like it's. Is this pre Steve Harvey?
- 1:25:34No, Steve Harvey, but I'm like you kind of get the gist after
- 1:25:39after like an hour and a half, you know, it's kind of like
- 1:25:42there's the jokes are the jokes and the game is game, you know,
- 1:25:48I don't know. I think that Steve Harvey kind
- 1:25:52of yeah, I I like him on that. But it it it would be a lot.
- 1:25:56It's the same thing That's I. Like Steve?
- 1:26:00I love Steve, but that's a lot of.
- 1:26:02Steve, I do too. But it is, it's a lot of Steve
- 1:26:04and you've seen all the antics if you've watched it for an hour
- 1:26:06and a half. I could.
- 1:26:12I mean you. Still doing it.
- 1:26:16You looking up shows? I I, well, I'm like blanking on
- 1:26:20shows for some reason. Love Parks and Rec?
- 1:26:24Yeah, but I you got to you got to sprinkle variety in guy.
- 1:26:29If you got office, you can't go parks and.
- 1:26:31That's a good point. That's true.
- 1:26:32It's literally the same people. Oh, Band of Brothers.
- 1:26:37I was thinking Band of That's a great if.
- 1:26:40I wish it was longer though, yeah.
- 1:26:43Pause. Like 8 or 9 episodes.
- 1:26:46That's, that's a good, that's a good, a good option.
- 1:26:51There's something that I'm trying to think of that we
- 1:26:54watched like recently, right within the last like 3 or so
- 1:27:00years. I'm struggling to remember what
- 1:27:02it was. Am I the only one going right
- 1:27:08now? Suits.
- 1:27:09Yeah. Yes, that's that's what I'm
- 1:27:11thinking of. OK.
- 1:27:12Yeah. Suits.
- 1:27:13I was like, we've literally watched this recently.
- 1:27:15Suits. I'll throw this.
- 1:27:17I'll throw suits out there. The office.
- 1:27:19Thank you. That was going to kill me if I
- 1:27:21couldn't remember that. And I won't.
- 1:27:28I mean, I won't say it's like a top three show of all time, but
- 1:27:30I would take a deserted island. Friday Night Lights.
- 1:27:33Great show. Fantastic show.
- 1:27:35Just finished that White Collar. Another good one.
- 1:27:40Yeah, I tried Paige. Didn't like it, really.
- 1:27:44Yeah. And it made it like 5 episodes
- 1:27:45in and I was like, we got to get past the first season.
- 1:27:47She's like, no, I'm well done. As with every show, yeah.
- 1:27:50Like you owe every show at least that, yeah.
- 1:27:53Cheers though. Cheers.
- 1:27:55First season. Most watchable season.
- 1:27:58Tony JB is secretly 67 years old.
- 1:28:02I found out how old he was before we started the the pod
- 1:28:05tonight. I don't know if you know how old
- 1:28:07he is. I don't.
- 1:28:09He could be 23 or he could be 78 years old.
- 1:28:14You're young, aren't you, Josh? How old?
- 1:28:16How old are you? Well, you know, COVID age is the
- 1:28:19brain. You don't, you don't have to.
- 1:28:23Did you like Cheers before? COVID or did you come out of
- 1:28:26COVID and you were like did? Cheers is cheers did.
- 1:28:29You like? Cheers.
- 1:28:30Hey. Josh, did you like Cheers when
- 1:28:32it originally aired? I don't think so.
- 1:28:36I would have been a bit young for.
- 1:28:38Cheers. A couple shows that have yet to
- 1:28:40be named that I feel like are owed the the respect here in the
- 1:28:43conversation. Friends and Seinfeld couple all
- 1:28:47time greats. I can quote friends with the
- 1:28:50best of them for sure. And there's a lot there too.
- 1:28:53So I think Friends would be a good one, but then it would have
- 1:28:57to be something different. I don't know.
- 1:29:02Oh yeah, dude, I don't want to watch Friday Night Lights watch
- 1:29:04TV. It's great, Yeah.
- 1:29:06How old are you? Josh, what do you do?
- 1:29:09How old are you I? Watch baseball.
- 1:29:12He watches Cody Pont's highlights.
- 1:29:14Live live sports or else I'm doing something else like I I
- 1:29:20just don't like not doing something I would I would pick
- 1:29:24up and this is very this doesn't.
- 1:29:25Happen all time something. I would pick up a game like a
- 1:29:29video game before I would watch something.
- 1:29:33I respect it. Friday night, Friday nights, Sea
- 1:29:35of Thieves, that's my gym. I only play it on Friday nights,
- 1:29:38but Friday nights, that's my night to play Sea of Thieves.
- 1:29:41That's my video games. How old are you?
- 1:29:43What is Sea of Thieves? Is this like a a a Domino's?
- 1:29:46Game not answering this question on.
- 1:29:48Purpose. It's a pirate pirate game.
- 1:29:50I'm all pirate. Course it is.
- 1:29:52Of course it is. Oh, I see, Unbelievable.
- 1:29:57Right on brand. Yeah, on brand.
- 1:30:00Cap it off with a show, Nate. Yeah.
- 1:30:05Tap it off with the show. You got to finish your list
- 1:30:07right. Yeah, this is really tough.
- 1:30:10I don't. I think we've spent more time on
- 1:30:16this question than we'd talked about, Dylan sees for the
- 1:30:19record. That might be true, but don't
- 1:30:22worry, trivia's got you. Trivia's got you with more,
- 1:30:24Dylan. CC Oh yeah, we got trivia.
- 1:30:26Let's get to trivia with Dylan CC.
- 1:30:28Yeah. Let's take, let's go 3 hours
- 1:30:30with this thing. I'm literally I'm here for it.
- 1:30:35I don't think I can narrow it down, guy.
- 1:30:36I just don't think. What do you have?
- 1:30:38What did you submit so far? You had nothing.
- 1:30:40I don't know. Nothing.
- 1:30:42I can't submit anything. I thought you had like 2 or
- 1:30:46maybe you're just throwing stuff out.
- 1:30:47I was throwing stuff out for you.
- 1:30:49There's, I mean, I so many good shows.
- 1:30:53I love shows. I'll take show.
- 1:30:54I love movies, but I'll take shows over movies.
- 1:30:58Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:02The commitment, that's the big burn.
- 1:31:04Yeah, that's the biggest thing is you can, you can jump in and
- 1:31:07out. You don't.
- 1:31:07You're not. Yeah, I get that.
- 1:31:09I can see right through that though, because my wife says
- 1:31:12that movies take too long, but she'll happily sit there for
- 1:31:15three consecutive episodes. Right.
- 1:31:16But you you have the flexibility if you don't want to in a given
- 1:31:20night. That's the difference.
- 1:31:22And you didn't have to wait as long.
- 1:31:23You still got the first thing resolved in 30 minutes.
- 1:31:25They may go to the You got a brand new story.
- 1:31:27Exactly, Meredith, God love her. She has no problem stopping a
- 1:31:33movie like 2/3 of the way through.
- 1:31:35No, it'd be like, let's finish up and I'm like you.
- 1:31:39Can't. Do that.
- 1:31:40No. I've actually stopped, Paige
- 1:31:43will fall asleep with about 12 minutes left in an episode.
- 1:31:47And I'm like, I'm, I'm past that point where I'm just like, I'm
- 1:31:50not pausing it for you. We're not starting this thing
- 1:31:52up. Yeah, that's nuts.
- 1:31:54Look. You better pause the next
- 1:31:56episode. You got a recap previously on
- 1:31:59because that's the best you're going to get out of me.
- 1:32:02You're going to pause. You're going to miss the best,
- 1:32:04the literal best part of that given episode.
- 1:32:06She knows too. She like hides her face from me
- 1:32:10when we're when we're like and I'm like, I know what you're
- 1:32:12doing. I know you're getting comfier.
- 1:32:14I know you're it's a matter of seconds.
- 1:32:17I can't do shit. I'm sorry.
- 1:32:19I can't. This was your idea, by the way?
- 1:32:22Yeah, it was. All right.
- 1:32:24Let's get on to trivia, then. Let's.
- 1:32:25Yeah. Let's get on to it.
- 1:32:29Talk A. Little bit, so check this out.
- 1:32:31Since 2021, Dylan Cease is the only pitcher take.
- 1:32:35Us another 30 minutes. By the way, week it's going to
- 1:32:38take us a week. It might see you guys at Craig
- 1:32:40can already tell. He's the only pitcher in
- 1:32:43baseball to start at least 32 games every year for the last
- 1:32:48five seasons. So there is value.
- 1:32:50I mean, like, listen, the best abilities availability, he gets
- 1:32:54some added value there. Sure.
- 1:32:56He's he's reliable. He's posting DID.
- 1:32:58You say one O 5. 2021 to to 2025.
- 1:33:03He's the only, oh, the only, the only pitcher.
- 1:33:06I lowered the minimum to 30 starts and there are three other
- 1:33:11pitchers to post at least 30 starts in all five seasons.
- 1:33:19Who are they? Is Kevin Gozman in the mix?
- 1:33:25Dude, Kevin Gozman, we're one for.
- 1:33:28Good. One for one, let's go do more.
- 1:33:31Good for you, good for you. And, and I'll and I'll, I will
- 1:33:35give you a hint. close Tate 22 through 25.
- 1:33:41Logan Webb, for a hint, is one of these guys as a free agent,
- 1:33:47but he's a bit on the He's not one of the top, but a reliable
- 1:33:55arm. Wow, way to start that.
- 1:33:58Way to start it KC. Well, I feel like he was about
- 1:34:01to say on the older side. I was but.
- 1:34:04Verlander. No, what's?
- 1:34:07No, no, he's. Worth a shot.
- 1:34:10No, he was injured. Of all the shots, that's
- 1:34:15certainly. One of them, yeah, we're looking
- 1:34:17for 30 starts every year since 2021.
- 1:34:20So I you're, So what you're saying is I was right with Logan
- 1:34:23Webb, except I like he's a year short.
- 1:34:26He's a year. Short of 2022 through 2025, he's
- 1:34:29four straight years. So I mean, I'm giving myself
- 1:34:32half a point there. That's off.
- 1:34:33That's a good start. Well, there's only a Yeah, it
- 1:34:36there's 7. There's there's seven more
- 1:34:41pitchers with Four Seasons. So we're, I mean, we're 11 deep
- 1:34:44like that. And not all of those are.
- 1:34:46Some of those are 21 through 24, right?
- 1:34:49I like your threshold though. That that's it.
- 1:34:51It's like. Being thrown at me.
- 1:34:53I'm tracking. I'm tracking with you, Josh.
- 1:34:55So we've got Dylan Cease. We've got Kevin Gossman.
- 1:34:58There's two more. One of them is a free agent and
- 1:35:01one of them might surprise you. There's a theme.
- 1:35:06Sonny Gray. Not Sonny Gray.
- 1:35:10Who close? I'll see if he's on here.
- 1:35:13Not Sonny. Rages 2.
- 1:35:17Nate, you would know this not no, not Carlos Rodon, right?
- 1:35:22I. It his name crossed my mind. 3
- 1:35:28is the last three. No, you're saying just three.
- 1:35:32Times in the in that fan, yeah, between 22 and 25.
- 1:35:37Three. So 23 or 24.
- 1:35:39He, he didn't. Man, I felt good with that Logan
- 1:35:45Webb pick. I thought we were just going to
- 1:35:48have to dwindle. The sound of one who posts who
- 1:35:55posts somebody in is that gallon.
- 1:36:02No gallon was 3. Somebody in Texas?
- 1:36:09Am I missing somebody in Texas? Framber Valdez. 3.
- 1:36:15Oh shoot, I was ready. To hit the button, you were you.
- 1:36:17Were ready to hit the button. So there was the The free agent
- 1:36:22did pitch for Texas last year, but only last year, and pitched
- 1:36:27for a team relatively close to you before that.
- 1:36:36I'm assuming that's Baltimore, Baltimore and Texas.
- 1:36:41DC in Texas. Patrick Corbin.
- 1:36:45Patrick Corbin. We got one more left and and
- 1:36:48this one is on like there's a theme.
- 1:36:52If you remember the first two, this is a huge hint.
- 1:36:56Here there is a theme. The first.
- 1:36:59Two. Remember the first two?
- 1:37:01Yeah. Cease.
- 1:37:03Cease. And who did I say it's a blue
- 1:37:08Jay? It's a blue Jay, maybe.
- 1:37:10It's a Patrick Corbin. It's a blue Jay.
- 1:37:15Don't let. It's maybe it's a maybe it's a
- 1:37:17Patrick Corbin teammate. No, he said the 1st 2:00 there's
- 1:37:22a theme. Listen to what he's saying.
- 1:37:25It's a Riddle. It's not a Riddle, it's a clue.
- 1:37:29It's a hint that he's giving us Jose Brios.
- 1:37:34There it is. Bang it.
- 1:37:38So listen to this Chris Bassett, who's a free agent now, but
- 1:37:41pitched for Toronto last year, also four since 2022.
- 1:37:46So like like Toronto's looking at this thing.
- 1:37:50I mean, they're in pretty good shape right now.
- 1:37:52I you've got Sis now you've got Brios, you've got Gosman.
- 1:37:56They're kind of an old school team here.
- 1:37:58They're getting all their starts.
- 1:37:59They don't strike out. They put the ball in play.
- 1:38:01I. Like that a lot.
- 1:38:03However they are looking they're they're they're open to trading
- 1:38:07Rios right now. We'll see.
- 1:38:08They got pawns coming in now they've got you.
- 1:38:12Savage coming up I. Don't want to hear this guy's
- 1:38:14name again. Pawns.
- 1:38:16I'm I'm excited to watch you, Savage.
- 1:38:18Don't trade, don't trade. Don't trade, Rios.
- 1:38:20All right, look, you we watched it first hand with the freaking
- 1:38:23Dodgers. They had 17 starters going in
- 1:38:26the year and they needed all of them because all of them went
- 1:38:28down. Don't trade anybody like that.
- 1:38:31Run a six man rotation if you need to.
- 1:38:33Don't trade anybody. Keep it healthy.
- 1:38:37I love that I hate that I love that.
- 1:38:41I hate that I love what the Blue Jays are doing.
- 1:38:46Excitedness. What else do you guys want?
- 1:38:49By the way, I will say, I will say too about what you said
- 1:38:53about Bichette earlier about whether or not he'll be willing
- 1:38:55to go to second base. I think he's going to have that
- 1:38:58sort of conversation no matter who he talks to.
- 1:39:00There's been a lot of talk about Philly in third base, Boston and
- 1:39:04third base. There's a lot of the attention
- 1:39:06going to him might not be shortstop.
- 1:39:09So I don't think he'll he'll shy away at that.
- 1:39:13I, I can't think about anything else except the fact that
- 1:39:17there's a very good chance we end up with Pete Alonso from
- 1:39:20what I'm hearing, Not that I'm hearing, just reading, consuming
- 1:39:27again at a very high level, not I'm not in the weeds, but so
- 1:39:32that's fun. I guess thought you weren't
- 1:39:35getting caught up in the rumors. I'm not.
- 1:39:38That's like very high level stuff.
- 1:39:41I'm not. I'm not reading Heyman tweets to
- 1:39:43figure that out. We got do we got winter meetings
- 1:39:46next week. Yes.
- 1:39:49Isn't it this weekend or is it this next week?
- 1:39:51Start Sunday, I think, right? Yeah.
- 1:39:53I think so. Love that.
- 1:39:58Let's go. Let's go to the winter meetings.
- 1:40:05Like now well, no, because they haven't started yet.
- 1:40:10They I'm saying when when they happen, let's let's just go.
- 1:40:14We'll fly down. It's in Florida, right?
- 1:40:17So is it Orlando? It's.
- 1:40:19Orlando. Let's fly down to Orlando I.
- 1:40:26Don't think Orlando is that great.
- 1:40:27Go go to Disney Weld. Definitely not in on that.
- 1:40:34Adults that go to Disney World without kids red flag.
- 1:40:40That's big red flag. Oh.
- 1:40:46That's a hill I'll die on. That's that's your hill to die
- 1:40:49on. Nate, you're on fire tonight.
- 1:40:51Yeah, watch out for those people anyway.
- 1:41:00What else do you want to talk about?
- 1:41:04You want to go to you want to go to the winter meetings?
- 1:41:05You want to, you want to catch Boris in his natural element.
- 1:41:09Let's sneak into the CBA agreements next year.
- 1:41:15Where are those held? On an undisclosed.
- 1:41:18Does anybody know? Yeah.
- 1:41:20Does anybody know? We'll probably hear a lot about
- 1:41:24preliminary discussions at winter meetings.
- 1:41:26Honestly, ship him to freaking South Dakota.
- 1:41:28Put him somewhere there's nothing else to do.
- 1:41:30Let's get this thing hammered out, you know what I mean?
- 1:41:34Don't put him in. Except don't.
- 1:41:36You can go ahead and leave Tony Clark behind and put somebody
- 1:41:38else in that position. Yeah, I'm kind of.
- 1:41:41I'm kind of out on Tony. I'm we need the attitude.
- 1:41:43We need a new yeah, we need a new voice.
- 1:41:46Yep. Yeah, he's, he's getting to
- 1:41:49like. Who would your ideal guy be?
- 1:41:52I wasn't going to do that. I got smarter people than me.
- 1:41:55Who's your guy? Who's your?
- 1:41:57I would say CC dude. CC would just be.
- 1:41:59Like, I wouldn't, I wouldn't hate it.
- 1:42:01Yeah. And his wife is an Asian, right?
- 1:42:04Yes. Yeah.
- 1:42:05So he, he has like a little bit of a business lens to work
- 1:42:08through there, I guess. I.
- 1:42:09Think he'd cut through the BS for.
- 1:42:10Sure, I'd be, yeah. And doesn't he have like a like
- 1:42:15him and him and old Bobby Manfred, they get along, don't
- 1:42:18they? Sure.
- 1:42:22I mean out off the field I feel like CC would be a hard guy to
- 1:42:27to get along or a hard guy not to get along with.
- 1:42:30Yeah, you almost tripped yourself up there.
- 1:42:33No, I'll give him his. I'll give him his credit, Bear.
- 1:42:36Yeah, I'll give him his credit. He seems like a seems like a
- 1:42:38good dude to hang out with. Wouldn't want to mess with him
- 1:42:41on the field obviously, but. Who's the last guy you would
- 1:42:44ever want to be? Dustin Pedroia, Max Scherzer,
- 1:42:48they would. He would never.
- 1:42:50He wouldn't compromise on a single thing.
- 1:42:54I was going to say Jonathan Papabon.
- 1:42:55So that's pretty funny, yeah. Papabon cut from the same cloth,
- 1:43:00I guess. Yeah, that's funny.
- 1:43:05We arrived there at the same same place.
- 1:43:08It's a. Ridiculously long episode.
- 1:43:10What else you want to talk about?
- 1:43:11It keeps. Saying.
- 1:43:13What else you got? I'm here for the long haul.
- 1:43:17This is fun do. Some comments.
- 1:43:19You want to read through some comments?
- 1:43:23Yeah, Let's see, it's almost midnight for you guys.
- 1:43:29Yeah, man, it's it's nuts. We still got a while.
- 1:43:35You're you're a night owl, JB. Yeah.
- 1:43:37Yeah, yeah. It's almost bedtime for me.
- 1:43:49People agree with me on my take that this Pirates logo is one of
- 1:43:53the most criminally underappreciated logos of all
- 1:43:56time. Sure.
- 1:44:03I, I mean, I would agree with that.
- 1:44:05I'm, I'm, I'm biased in two different ways because I grew up
- 1:44:10near Pittsburgh. So I like the Pirates, but also
- 1:44:12I like Pirates. So I just think that all their
- 1:44:17stuff is the coolest stuff all. Right, I'm with you there.
- 1:44:25Yeah, we can. Let's read through some comments
- 1:44:27another time. We can wrap it.
- 1:44:29I don't want to go down too many rabbit holes.
- 1:44:33Let's let's wrap it and go hang out with my dog for a little bit
- 1:44:38before I call it so. It's a confusing comment.
- 1:44:45I don't think people really read posts sometimes.
- 1:44:47I don't think they do either. I don't.
- 1:44:50Have you heard? All right, here's something we
- 1:44:53can talk about. Have you heard about the The
- 1:44:55Dead Internet Theory? No.
- 1:44:59I'll give you an official definition.
- 1:45:06The Dead Internet theory posits that the Internet is no longer
- 1:45:09dominated by organic human created content in interactions,
- 1:45:12but has been largely taken over by artificial intelligence and
- 1:45:15bots. I buy that.
- 1:45:18According to the theory, AI driven accounts now create most
- 1:45:21content manipulating engagement metrics and generate fake
- 1:45:24interactions to achieve goals like financial gain or
- 1:45:26propaganda. In other words, the people that
- 1:45:29you're interacting with online aren't actual people, which
- 1:45:36which relates to what you're saying is that I, I just,
- 1:45:41they're, we're lacking. Have you heard about that guy on
- 1:45:44TikTok who is like stuck as a time traveller and he's like
- 1:45:53going to different places and not seeing anybody?
- 1:45:57He's just alone. Yes, I've seen that.
- 1:46:00That's pretty wild. That's a That's a wild.
- 1:46:04I mean, it's got to be AI, right?
- 1:46:06I don't know. He like they tell him like go to
- 1:46:09certain places. They're like, go to this
- 1:46:10restaurant at this time, I'll be there.
- 1:46:14And he goes there and it's empty.
- 1:46:20It's odd, but like, why? He's like walking through Times
- 1:46:22Square and it's like, there's no way you're going to have, you
- 1:46:27can't get Times Square to be empty.
- 1:46:32Movies spend like millions of dollars to do that for like a
- 1:46:35film, but like, there's no way. That's strange.
- 1:46:39I'll hear you on that. I'll hear you on that for sure.
- 1:46:43Let's let's round it out with with a green that we need to do
- 1:46:49a three O fake sometime soon. Agreed and we'll leave it there.
- 1:46:57That's all that's all we got. That was fun.
- 1:47:00Good stuff. Very.
- 1:47:04I feel like we touched all bases tonight.
- 1:47:06I think we did I, I think we covered most, if not everything,
- 1:47:11not just in baseball, but you know, literally everything shows
- 1:47:15movies, kidnapping again, on record, not not happening.
- 1:47:21Feel like we did well on trivia. You did very well on trivia.
- 1:47:25Comparatively, we did. We did well, yeah.
- 1:47:28Yeah, that doesn't say much. Don't go chasing car balls.
- 1:47:32We love you all and as always looking forward to talking more
- 1:47:34baseball and amongst other things with you guys soon.
- 1:47:37Until next time, stay filthy.
