- 0:23murder in the death of her eight -month -old
- 0:26daughter. Kristina Heumann -Siedlecki was convicted
- 0:29October 1st in the death of baby Jana. Prosecutors
- 0:34say Jennah suffered severe burns over more than
- 0:3630 % of her body after Sedlecki’s husband placed
- 0:40her in dangerously hot water. When Sedlecki returned
- 0:43home, prosecutors say she saw the baby's skin
- 0:47turn red, peel, and blister, but neither parent
- 0:50sought medical treatment in the days that followed.
- 0:53Investigators later found internet searches on
- 0:55Sedlecki’s phone showing that she understood
- 0:57the danger of leaving the burns untreated, but
- 1:01feared seeking help. because she thought she
- 1:04may be arrested. On the morning that Jannah died,
- 1:08prosecutors say the baby became limp and unresponsive.
- 1:11Instead of immediately calling 911, Sedlecki
- 1:14went on social media while her husband contacted
- 1:17a friend for help nearly 45 minutes later. Jannah
- 1:21ultimately died from complications related to
- 1:24the burns. Her father was also charged in the
