- 0:24Speaker 1: Find a nice comfortable place to sit, or maybe lie down,
- 0:30maybe in your own bedroom. Allow your eyes to gently close,
- 0:38and just focus on your breathing and just let all
- 0:43your troubles just float away. So take a deep breath
- 0:51into your nose and slowly and gently breathe out through
- 0:58your mouth. Take another deep breath in and slowly and
- 1:09gently breathe out through your mouth. One last time, deep
- 1:18breath in and slowly and gently breathe out through your mouth.
- 1:29I just bring your breathing back to its normal rhythm
- 1:34and relax, letting all your thoughts just drift away. Now,
- 1:44imagine yourself sitting in a huge football stadium right at
- 1:50the end of the pitch. The sky is a beautiful
- 1:55blue and there's hardly any clouds at all, and the
- 1:59sun is its highest, and there are thousands of people
- 2:04all around him. The stadium is very full. Well it
- 2:10would be. It is, after all the Cup final. We
- 2:17look out onto the pitch. When you see a football
- 2:20match in full swing, the players are running up and
- 2:23down the field, passing the ball to each other, all
- 2:26of them trying to get the ball off the other
- 2:29team and trying so desperately to win the match. And
- 2:33bring the cup home. And you see that on the
- 2:37backs of the players' shirts is their number and the
- 2:42name of their team. One team is called the Growny Bears.
- 2:48The other team it's called the Chicky Monkeys. How hod
- 2:52you've never heard names like that before, especially for football teams. Well,
- 2:58the reason the teams have those odd names is because
- 3:01of their mascots. The Growley Bears mascot is a preat
- 3:05big brown bear who keeps growling every time the other
- 3:09teams score a girl. He does not like that very much.
- 3:14The Chicken Monkeys mascot is a large black monkey with
- 3:19brown patches on them, and he is very cheeky. He
- 3:23keeps pulling tongues at the Growley Bears, trying to put
- 3:26them off their game. That's not very nice, is it.
- 3:31But it is very exciting watching the match. The atmosphere
- 3:35is amazing and you can smell hot dogs and popcorn
- 3:39and it's making you feel a bit hungry too. But
- 3:42there are people everywhere. Some of them are waving their
- 3:48teams starves high in the air. Some of them are
- 3:51just shouting telling the teams who to pass the ball to,
- 3:56and some of them are just singing. Very loudly cheering
- 3:59the t and you love it. Here as you are
- 4:05sitting so close to the pitch, there are Growley Bear
- 4:09team members sitting in front of him, and there is
- 4:13a little boy who is sitting on the bench dressed
- 4:16in the team colors. And he turns to you and
- 4:19he grins. He tells you his name is Jake and
- 4:24that he is a substitute for his team. He tells
- 4:28you he is waiting for a chance to get on
- 4:30the pitch and play, and he says he's been waiting
- 4:34for a very long time now, but he is ready
- 4:37for when he's called upon. The two of you have
- 4:41a little chat together whilst watching the game. You are
- 4:44both so excited because it looks like the Growley Bears
- 4:47are winning. The score is to one, and the Growley
- 4:51Bears fans are shouting very loudly egging their team on.
- 4:55And just as you both think your team is going
- 4:59to win, one of the Chicky Monkey's players gets the
- 5:03ball and dribbles all the way up the field, but
- 5:07your team can't catch him. He is so fast. Then
- 5:11he stops, he aims his shoots and the ball fires
- 5:15thunderously into the back of the net. The crowd roars
- 5:19were delight. The Chicky Monkeys all jump on the airs
- 5:22and start hugging each other. They have just eamed up
- 5:26the score. Oh no, it's now to all. Jake looks
- 5:34very disappointed, as it's the cup final. He really really
- 5:39wanted his team to take home that precious cup. The
- 5:44match resumes with both teams trying desperately to score the
- 5:49winning goal. Then suddenly the revereree blows his whistle. It's
- 5:55nearly the end of the game and one of the
- 5:58Browny Bears team members has taken a knock. He was
- 6:02tripped up by a cheeky Monkey's player. It's a foul,
- 6:09but there is only four minutes left of the game
- 6:11to play, and you can see a discussion going on
- 6:14on the field between the ref and the players. The
- 6:18team's managers enter the pitch and join in with the talks.
- 6:23Then they all turn to look at Jake. The manager
- 6:28walks over to Jake and tells him this is his chance.
- 6:33He has been selected to take the place of the
- 6:36injured player. Jake is ecstatic. He is so happy, and
- 6:42you are so happy for him because you know what
- 6:44it means to him. Jake runs onto the field and
- 6:50joins his team members. They talked to Jake and then
- 6:55they too turn to look at you. They need another player,
- 7:00so Jake said that he wants you to play too.
- 7:03You are over the moon. You get up and go
- 7:08on to the field, and suddenly you have the same
- 7:12kit on that Jake has. It just appeared on you
- 7:15like magic. You are so happy. The game starts up
- 7:21again with only four minutes left. One of the players
- 7:27passes the ball to you when you run with it,
- 7:30and as you run towards the goal, you look for
- 7:33a player who is open, and you see the Jake is,
- 7:37but he is further away than you thought. So you
- 7:40dribble past another man and then play a perfect through
- 7:44ball over to Jake. Jake receives the ball and bombs
- 7:50towards the opposition goal. The goalkeeper is ready for him, though,
- 7:54and comes rushing out towards Jake at great speed, and
- 7:57there is now only one minute left before the whistle blows.
- 8:02Jake composes himself and as the keeper approaches him, he
- 8:07chips the ball delightfully over the goalkeeper's head. Everyone holds
- 8:11their breath, including you. The ball sails through the air.
- 8:16It seems like it's in slow motion. Then the ball
- 8:21nettles into the back of the net. Water go. The
- 8:25crowd go wild, that is cheering and singing. The players
- 8:29all run to Jake just as the final whistle blows.
- 8:32The Growley Bears have won. They have won the cup
- 8:36final and the cup is coming home. Yes, the other
- 8:42players pick up Jake and raise him high on their shoulders,
- 8:47and some of them come for you and raise you
- 8:49up to After all, it was you who provided the
- 8:53wonderful assist for Jake. Without the two of you playing,
- 8:58they probably would have lost the match. Your team all
- 9:04lines up to receive the cup and the captain of
- 9:07the team holds it high for the crowd to see
- 9:10and they row with delight. Then each team member receives
- 9:15a golden medal that they get to take home with them. Wow,
- 9:20your very own golden medal. You all head back to
- 9:26the locker room to get changed and to go to
- 9:29the aftermatch party. So for just a little while, you
- 9:34get to hang out with Jake and his teammates. You
- 9:37get to talk to all the other players, the manager,
- 9:40the coach, and best of a war. You and Jake
- 9:45get to eat as much as you want especially the cakes,
- 9:49the sweet and the ice creams. So go and have
- 9:53some fun at the party, chatter any one you want
- 9:58and relift the glory.
- 10:27Speaker 2: U s.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Now that the party is coming to an end. It's
- 12:10time for you to return home. So you talk to
- 12:14Jake and you thank him for letting you play on
- 12:17his team. You are so happy to have met Jake.
- 12:22He is a wonderful, kind and loving little boy. He's
- 12:27also a very very good football player, and you just
- 12:32know that the two of you will be best friends forever.
- 12:40Jake tells you that any time you want, you can
- 12:44come back and play football with all of them. After all,
- 12:50you too assisted in scoring the winning goal, didn't you.
- 12:55You say goodbye to Jake and the rest of the
- 12:57players and start your journey back home, and pretty soon
- 13:04you are back in your own room and you are
- 13:08absolutely exhausted, and let's be fair, you have had a
- 13:13very busy day. You put on your pajamas and climb
- 13:19into your own bed, and you think about Jake and
- 13:24how amazing he is. He is the best football player
- 13:28you have ever seen, and he is your friend. You
- 13:35close your weary eyes and settle down, and you take
- 13:40a deep breath, in through your nose and gently blow
- 13:47it out from your mouth. You take another deep breath
- 13:57and gently blow it out from your your mouth. And
- 14:03it's now that you feel a gentle wave of sleepiness
- 14:08starting at your feet, and you can feel your toes
- 14:12going to sleep, and it feels all warm and tingling
- 14:16and ever so soft. And you feel a soothing, gentle
- 14:22wave of sleepiness coming up your calves and your shins,
- 14:28and you can feel it going all the way up
- 14:30your thighs, and you think your legs have already gone
- 14:34to sleep. But you feel so tired now, so sleepy,
- 14:39but so very happy. You don't want to open your
- 14:44eyes now, you just want to rest them. This beautiful
- 14:49wave of sleepiness travels all the way up your body,
- 14:55down your arms, and then into your hands, making your body.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Feel very very heavy, very very tired, and very very sleepy.
- 15:13Speaker 1: This gentle, warm wave of sleepiness travels up your face
- 15:19and over the top of your head and then down
- 15:23the back of your neck. Oh, you feel so tired
- 15:27though so sleepy. You give a big yawn. You feel
- 15:35so very peaceful now, so relaxed, so relaxed, and so
- 15:42very very sleepy. You just want to sleep so you
- 15:51drift off into a peaceful night's sleep, dreaming of Jake
- 15:57and the Growley Bears, and remember you are safe, you
- 16:05are loved, and you are protected.
