Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football priests, Chad Jensen, and Zach Kilmerman.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: All right, we are live.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome in everybody.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: It is the Mile High Hotel podcast presented by prize picks on your host Chad Jensen with me.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: My fellow football priest, you know him.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: You love him.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: He is Zach Kelberman Zach.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: we missed the news yesterday, but it was blessed news in the sense that at least it was something a leak on the Denver Broncos schedule.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: First we find out that it's Broncos chiefs, then we find out it's Broncos at chiefs to open the season's act.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: What was your gut reaction to?
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, some people are like, ah, we want the division.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: We should have been the ones at home.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts?
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to touch on that.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: There was a lot of, I guess, anger or frustration at the NFL for not having the Broncos open up at home.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like it this way though, Chad.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: I realized it's an arrow ahead, but you're getting a rusty my homes.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: If he does play, which I expect him to or their backup quarterback, didn't they acquire fields to be the backup behind my homes?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: at a power field for later in the season when all the marbles could be on this table.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: I really actually like it this way.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: All the eyes around the Broncos.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: I expect to put up a good fight.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: I expect to actually win this game, but I'm not mad that they're opening up at Casey at all.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not either because even if this were a season where it was business as usual, Mahomes was coming in full strength.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: There was no question.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: about the integrity of his health and any way shape or form, I kind of like the idea of going into Arrowhead early, ripping the band-aid off because another reason for that, too, Zach, is that it increases the probability, because we know that that second game, the NFL, I mean, we don't know this for a fact, but we have good reason to believe and I'll go ahead and predict it, that the NFL is going to schedule it somewhere in the final couple of weeks of the season.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be shocked if it weren't that would you rather in December with all the chips down January even Zag all the chips down for the potentially for the division would you rather be going to arrowhead or would you rather the cheese have to come to mile high.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Remember, bone X is undefeated against the chiefs at mile high so that's the silver lining and I don't hate it.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: I like it.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's assigned to Zack of the NFL kind of recognizing that the Broncos.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's a it's a new time.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's a new era and there are forced to be reckoned with given the chiefs highly scrutinized Patrick Mahomes return him from injury.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's on track to be the guy for a week one, but Zach, we don't know how that offensive lines going to look.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know how they're passing defense.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of changes for the chiefs.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: So I like it being week one.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you put it the best, I think, that's what I was trying to say.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: Rip the bandaid off, get it over with.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have to go to Arrowhead during the season at some point.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: Why not beat week one and when everything is still new and the chiefs could still be working things out.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: I really think the Broncos caught a competitive advantage here.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: So for anyone who's mad about it, I think you should look at it from a different angle.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: All right, baby.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll find out tomorrow.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: The official release, Zach, will come tomorrow night.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: How many, let's, let's do some predictions.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: And then we'll get to some holes here in the chat.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: How many prime time games?
- 3:31[SPEAKER_02]: Because this, by the way, this opener, you guys probably already know this, of course, but this season opener is gonna be on Monday night football.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: So Zach, it's a good juicy matchup, it'll be worth the wait, but after a long, relatively speaking, boring off season.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos fans are the fan base along with the chiefs, Zach, that are gonna have to wait.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: The longest to see their team debut in 2026.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, like you said, though, like you were trying to animate, which is true, the NFL sees the Broncos on the chief's level now.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: And Chad, a couple years ago, they were being stuck on the second Monday night game that won the start in like, like, eight, 20 mountain time against the chargers or whatever.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: They were an afterthought.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now the Broncos are front and center.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: So we talked about this the other night in terms of prime time games.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: I talked about this yesterday on KK.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: I would be shocked if they had anything less than four
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: They had five last year.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: They went 14 and three.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: They were this close away from the Super Bowl.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: You're still a hot team.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: I would expect nothing less than four.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I officially predicted five.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: And the other opponents besides the chiefs.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: I got, let me, let me do this off top.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: My head chargers on Thursday night.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: I got sea hawks and bills on Sunday night.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, what was the other one?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Off to pull it up.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's five for last season.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: They don't want to count the jets.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: London game, even though Zack, it was the only game being televised at the time because it takes place, you know, many hours into the future as far as America's concerns.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: So we get it in the morning for them.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's, you know, typical football time in London.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's the only game on, yes, but because it doesn't occur in prime time USA hours, they don't qualify technically as a prime time game.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we know the Broncos won't have any international games this season.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: The NFL did come out and release the international slate.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos are not in it.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like that Chad.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: They have a little less travel.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: They don't lose a home game potentially.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I would expect anything.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing less than four prime time nationally televised games for Denver.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: All right, some, some hello's we got Papa bears checking in.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: What's up brothers, he's saying 13 and 4 plus plus plus plus.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: We all know what that means, good to see your buddy.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: We got Austin Dorf Todd in the house.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: What's up?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: Ozark big earns in the house.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: See Chang William.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on guys?
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: We got Cody Dubbs and Port Tim Patrick.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: Zacky signed with the Jets.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm just glad he found a place to hang his hat to be frank with you like.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's just at that point in his career's act where he's kind of got to find a place get in where he can fit in.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: And there was a connection, right?
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: Darren Muji.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's how he say.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: It isn't Muji or Muji.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: I always get a confused.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: But the former Broncos assistant GM who was around during Tim Patrick's break into the NFL with the Broncos.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: Now the GM in New York, at least he found somewhere to go.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's that's kind of my read too.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, yeah, we like to cloud on the jets and Tim, everyone's saying like RIP Timmy piece career, but after the injuries that he had in the history that he had and even before he got in the NFL, Chad, the trouble to kind of life that Tim Patrick had, he should be and he probably is, he should be very blessed that he has somewhere that he can hang his hat on somewhere that he can call employment in the NFL.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: we got a very generous super chat off the top rope thank you man from one of our dear members and a bona fide superstar here at MHH Shannon Mills great to see you thank you so much Shannon this Wednesday means a lot to us I hope you know that she says good evening Chad Zach Scott and MHH fam looking forward to the scheduled drop tomorrow yeah Zach if it's anything like the
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: Last few years, it'll get leaked a little bit early and, you know, the blogs like us, the websites will be out there running with it.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: So just keep keep refreshing it at milehighhuttle.com.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you're following us because anything that drops, we will get it up and reported to you guys as soon as possible.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: But yes, Zach, she's right.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: We're almost there the schedule.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thank you so much Shannon and as I said to you, Chad, maybe it's just me, but I feel like this is the least hyped schedule release week in recent memory.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: It could because it's the soft season.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's felt very extended.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: Could because the NFL chooses to have a schedule release week and not just the day, but yeah, we'll get trickled information tomorrow.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe game by game, but the Broncos are doing a good job, Chad, keeping the drops on lockdown for the most part.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, again, Shannon.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so far, so good.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: They were the ones, by the way, it was the Broncos who actually Adam Shefter broke that it was going to be Broncos chiefs on Monday night football week one, but it was the Broncos who actually clarified later and said, oh, by the way.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_02]: we're on the road, baby, we're going to arrowhead.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: So, but Shannon, much love and respect.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: And just real quick, while we got you, if you would like to participate on the show during this off season, when we're able to do the superstar segments, we'd love to have you.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: So, if you want to,
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: That sounds like something you want to do, reach out to us, myahoodle at gmail.com, and we will get you scheduled.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's not no big deal.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: We'll make it nice and easy, trust on that.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: But thank you again, Shanna.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: We also have a little bit of breaking news, Chad.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: Really quickly, I see.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: We have scheduled, we have a scheduled leak.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: According to Aussie NFL, I'm sorry to cut off Michaela, but I just saw this according to Aussie NFL, who's been good and pretty accurate with the schedule releases.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos at Steelers will be played in week 12 on Black Friday 3 p.m. on NFL on Prime Amazon.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, what?
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: Black Friday.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: What is with this Wednesdays in Friday?
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: They're trying to take every day of the week, every day of the week, literally.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean,
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get that.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand that whatsoever because, I mean, Zack, you're just making it harder on the teams themselves for the short turnaround and, you know, for fans, it's fine, right?
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: But at a certain point, you have to worry about deluding the product when you start just, this is a different game, guys.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: This is not basketball.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: This is not baseball.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's not even hockey.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know, once one game per week, they need the time to rest and recover Zack, they need the time for their bodies to repair, and then also for the actual studying the opponent, going through the plays, getting all that stuff down, and I just maybe it's the traditionalist in music.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like it.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: Then we'll grab McKayla.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, and the Broncos, to your point, have to go from Denver all the way, to Pittsburgh on the East Coast chat on an early week, and it's another holiday we've covered.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thanksgiving, we've covered Christmas, Christmas Eve, now chock up Black Friday, but as I just tweeted though, and as we talked about what the Broncos and their popularity, that's two schedule releases, two prime time games.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Broncos are all the way back.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like that.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let's let's see.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see what's on my Kayla's mind from the top rope.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: We love you, Michaela.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: We're excited to talk to you this coming Monday.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be so fun.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: She says on the Broncos chief season opener on the road arrowhead Monday night.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: She says, personally, I like it.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'd rather have it early in the season before the weather gets bad and the wind starts swirling.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: Also, even if my home's plays, he will be rusty.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: MHH for the life.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, rusty.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, maybe a little rusty is one of the all-time greats.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't want to, you don't want to count too many chickens in terms of the rust factor or thing before they've hatched Zack because he's just, you know, elite guys, you, all bets are off.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's not so much.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, rust that I kind of anticipate with my homes, it's trusting that knee, you know, what it's gonna be like to get hit again for the first time in a long time.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: After a major injury, subsequent surgery, long, arduous recovery and rehab, you know, it takes players, whether it doesn't matter what sport they're in, but especially football where there's collision, collision, like that on the reg.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's more, you know, their bodies heal way before their mind does.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: And so it takes their mind, you know, the brain a few weeks to kind of go, okay, we're all right.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we can trust it.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I can cut.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: I can, you know, bounce.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: I can do.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: I can run.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: I can do my thing.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then also, Zach, I wonder just a little bit about Patrick Mahomes dropping back.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: with those kind of thoughts swirling, even in his subconscious, even in his lizard brain, you know, is he going to be on time with things?
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to get things out early.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to we'd be too worried about the rush.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: How mobile is he going to be?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, guys like Nashu, we love Nashu.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Nashu's like, I want him at their best.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: Give me chiefs at 10, like, best possible version of the chiefs, because we don't want any excuses when we hand him a loss in their house.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: But it's going to be tough one.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: Regardless of what's going on with my homes, he'll play, I'd be stunned, Zach, if he's not ready in time.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: And it's going to be a tough game to win.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: Regardless of those things, including their cornerback situation with rookies and new faces there.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: That is such a great point, Chad, and bringing up the mental aspect of it.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: What did John Madden say, 80% of the game is half metal or something like that, 90%.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's so true.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: For any player coming back for a major injury, they're always gonna think about, at least for the first couple of games, or maybe even the first of your back, how does it feel to get hit?
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: Can the affected area, no matter if it's a foot, knee, shoulder, whatever, can it take a hit?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: But that goes double for a quarterback.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: When they're standing back, dropping back in the pocket, they are literally sitting ducks.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Mahomes and knows every player on that broccos defense will be gunning to get after him, and I hate to say it, but gunning after the knee.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's the blood sport of the NFL.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I hate to say it too, but the same kind of goes for Bonix, who's coming off a broken ankle Chad.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: He will have those same thoughts.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: He is also going to be thinking in his head, and maybe the clock will be sped up a little bit, but that is so true.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I'm happy
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: You can argue that those two things kind of cancel themselves out because you're right.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: This will also be both first-game back.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: Although the recovery and the rehab let's be honest and just overall how it impacts the body and the psyche and the time it takes for the knee and the ligament stuff that Mahomes unfortunately had to go through.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's significantly more arduous.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: then what bone next did not just not to minimize what bone went through, but, you know, it's an ankle.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's put it in a boot, get the surgery put it in a boot, you know, you're in the boot for five, six weeks, whatever it is.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: And then from there, you're walking around, you're doing your thing.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, there's still going to be some rehab oriented, you know, focus in your workouts throughout the season, like strengthen and that thing.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: But nothing like exactly what it's like coming back from ligament tears in a knee.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, but like Bo got hurt on a running play for example.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: So you'd be naive to think that the first time he takes off as a runner in week one, he's not going to be thinking and having a little bit of flashback to that injury.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: Fortunately, once he survives that, it gets a lot easier and same goes from a home.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it was a great point and you're right also that it kind of does cancel each other out.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: But again, McCail, look, thank you so much as always.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's so good to see you.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: We're stoked to chat with you on Monday.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: We cannot wait my friend.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: We got the original Dizzy D checking in on super chat.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you, brother.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's saying, what, I want the 49ers game in Mexico.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: Hella Broncos fans there.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's no, uh, there's no international games for the Broncos this season, just FYI, uh, as far as the regular season.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: Now look, the Broncos do face the 49ers this year.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: They face the entire NFC West.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: dealing with the, you know, playing in the best division in the AFC, they then draw first place schedule.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: It means you get all the first place finisher, finisher's in the three other divisions in the conference, which means Patriots, Steelers, and Jaguar, sorry.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then not only that, Zach, but
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's that time where the schedule rotates every four years and the Broncos interconference draw the NFC West so that adds to things, but here's what's crazy guys you go, oh my gosh, you hear that you go, they must have a ridiculous strength of schedule metric they actually don't it is a little bit higher than last season's 5.5.05.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: This season's Zach, it's 0.512 and here's what's ironic.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, their 0.505 strength the schedule ranked 15th in the NFL in terms of how hard it was.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: So they had to look at it like this.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: The 15th hardest schedule last year.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: This year, it goes up a little 512, but it's also the fifth hardest schedule or 15th.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: Again, back to back years.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: So just kind of goes to show you Zach how in the NFL with parity and the way things rise and just competition levels,
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, everyone's going to have a little bit harder this season, I think.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I'm sorry, Dizzy.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's here, opinion.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: I just really hate the international games, all of them.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: Not just Broncos once.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's a bad product that's put on the field.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: The early morning kickoffs, the travel, the grind, the jet lag.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's never really good for the viewer or the players.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm happy the Broncos aren't going to Mexico.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: And this is kind of random, though, Chad.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: You mentioned the schedule rotating in this.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: And what is what the Broncos playing the jets?
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: Every single season.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand that.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't need either.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: The schedule makers and you know what teams you draw on all that, but it does seem like it's been three or four or five years I mean have they not played the Jets Zach in a season since the Teddy season so they played him with Teddy.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: We were there 2020 too
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so 2020, 2021, we have to go back and look.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: We could look, but yeah, it is curious.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: But then this season, they get the whole AFCEs for what it's work, right?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: So that's the other conference division that they'll face across the board.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, Disney, good to see you, bro.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: Drew, what is up?
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: Great to have you with us checking in on Supercharger.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: He says, hey, guys, I'm not being a homer, but why not 17 and oh plus plus, plus,
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: Brady did it when he got Randy Moss.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, I guess he did go undefeated in the regular season, but yeah, man, the ultimate, what was it, Zack?
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: 18 and one, you know, like the ignominy of it is just brutal.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't go all the way, but anyway, Bo got Jalen Wattle, so many young players, Bo, Jade Baron, RJ Harvey Troy Franklin, they'll all get better.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: Ad Jonah Coleman, Justin Jolie, believe.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: I love the enthusiasm.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: I really do.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, I mean, it's not gonna happen.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: Miami Dolphins, the only undefeated team technically speaking in NFL history.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: What was that 72?
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: 72.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's just so hard to do.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: And especially when you're playing a first place schedule, but hey, dude, Drew, I'm not trying to rain on your parade, brother.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: You'd be as optimistic and sunshiney as you wanna be, bro.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to figure out if you're actually being serious with this comment, it kind of reads as a little bit of a joke, but if you are being serious, I mean, the Broncos were a team of destiny.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think last season, they want a lot of games that you shouldn't have won some stroke of luck, some skill, and they still lost three games and they lost in the postseason.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not going to happen, but I do think the Broncos are going to be.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: right there, strong double digit wins, and we're not going to have to worry too much about the season.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: Quickly, though, Chad, I pulled it up.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos and Jets have played every single year since 2020.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: And before that, they played in 2018 and 2017.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: Crazy.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird, man.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how to explain it.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: We'll have to get into the weeds of NFL schedule or arithmetic and how all that stuff is decided.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, these two teams somehow oddly are connected.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_02]: And the only loss I can remember Zach was that Zach Wilson, 2022 Hackett season.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't it if you're still looking at it?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: let me pull it up.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: They beat them in 23, 31, 21, and then in 22, they beat him 16 and 9.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: That was the rust game where he got stripped sack from behind.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: So there you go.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: But Drew brother, very nice to see it.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you again for the super chat.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: We go back to the conversation at hand,
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, the Denver Broncos are eagerly awaiting the schedule.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see what else is on everybody's mind.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: We got Taylor Christians and a dear member jumping in on super chat.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: Love your buddy.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: He says we need to send a message.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, Taylor, we got, do we have you on the, do we have you on the books, brother?
- 20:08[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, we do.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure for the 15th of June.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: Looking forward to that superstar segment says we need to send a message in Casey to the entire world.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: Amen to that brother.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: Go in there.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: When with authority as I mentioned, Zach, a few moments ago, Bonyx undefeated against Patrick Mahomes at my Ohio, but he did get a victory at Arrowhead last season, but it was without Mahomes, right?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: It was that Christmas Eve game.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: No Mahomes.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of guys hurt.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: She still played the Broncos really tough, like they weren't laying down for anybody,
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's timesack for bone eggs, especially when you think back to his rookie year and how them on the ropes will let's chip shop field goal and Leo Chanel just kind of pushes over Alex Forsyth and just kind of man such a bummer, but this is the year.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Taylor, uh, it's definitely true on its face, but I kind of feel like a comment we took earlier is also true that no matter what the Broncos do, they can be Kansas City 40 nothing in week one and the critics will still come out and say, oh, it's because Casey, they were off their game or homes is rusty or
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos got lucky, no matter what they do in that game, there are still going to be a sect of Broncos fans even and football fans and analysts that just will poo poo.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: So it doesn't matter.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: We don't really care around here.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let them hate.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: All we have to worry about Taylor is the Broncos winning, getting that dub in week one.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well said, though, Taylor drew jumping in again.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, no, dude, I'm being serious about the 17 and no.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: No one predicted 14 wins last year.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: I really believe, well, I think Papa bear did for what?
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's worth it.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: But he says, I really believe Bo has the dog in him and the fourth quarter it factor.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, love you guys.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, we're right there with you in terms of all the reasons why it could happen.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's just that the probabilities of it happening are highly against,
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it actually shaken out that way, but, you know, put in the best possible spin, like I'll put those glasses on with you.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_02]: Here you go, Drew, give me your glasses.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: Orange colored, okay, here we go.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos that they return in 90% of their snaps from last year.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: That is huge for a team that won 14 games division crown number one seed, AFC, won a playoff game was a bonus injury away from the Super Bowl.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_02]: So you return in 90% of those snaps.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: You're, that includes, by the way, your young franchise quarterback.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: The upgrades that you made throughout the offseason were few, but they were strategic, including Zack.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: Jalen Waddle, given you an explosive wide receiver, who by himself is gonna pay dividends in terms of just what he does as a past catcher.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: But Zack, what he's gonna do to open things up for Portland Sutton, Evan Ingraham, I mean, defenses are gonna have to now kind of pick their poison, won't be so easy to just sell out in terms of coverage.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: That makes life a lot easier on Bonyx.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then Zack, they brought in,
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: They're leading Russia and JK Dobbins and they brought in a nice little insurance policy in Jonah Coleman.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, the stars are aligning plus.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: You got the wild card.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: We all think it's a wild card.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: Zack that will redown to Denver's blasting benefit.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: But the wild card of Davis Webb coming in and being a first time play caller and still calling Sean Payton's offense, but through his own kind of lens, right?
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: So, there are a lot of reasons to believe we could continue going.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: What they experienced last year.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: you know, prevailing in all those close games, all the achievements that they had as a team, the belief in the wisdom and all that creates that confidence baby as Sean Peyton puts a Zack and then I'm serving it back to you.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_02]: Confidence is born from demonstrated ability.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: And as a collective, that's exactly what the Broncos did last year.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a lot of reasons to be bullish.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: on the Broncos, despite playing the first play schedules act, despite having a slight uptick in their strength, the schedule, but it is the NFL, any given Sunday happens.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to happen three to five times this season.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, uh, that was basically the steel man version of the argument.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: I can, I can provide the straw man.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's obvious we can both make the case for and against, uh, true.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: If you're being serious, though, to expect the Broncos to do with the Patriots did, and the Patriots didn't even do it because like Chad's that they lost in the Super Bowl, bone nicks is not Tom Brady.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Sean Payton's not Bill Bellachek.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: This defense isn't what the Patriots had.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think Chad made the best case as to why the Broncos could pick up where they left off from last season.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: They can go back to the title game, they can go to the Super Bowl, but I don't know though, right now they can go 17 and now that's a really tough task if you are really being serious.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: Again, though, brother, I love the optimism and I love the confidence I really do.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: McKayla jumping in another super check.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, McKayla.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: She wants to know, has any team picked up Russ?
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: Last I saw, I wrote about this, CBS Sports, Zach was in talks with him to bring him in as an analyst, which would be him giving up on the career and officially saying, all right, retired.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: What's the last you've heard on Russ?
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: same thing.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think he has one foot out the door.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: He finally realizes that he can make the same amount of money or close to it off of the field with none of the on field stress.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have to get roasted or become a meme.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: You can just quietly slither off into the shadows and maybe make his case for the Hall of Fame five years from now.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: He needs to retire yesterday.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the latest I've heard on Russ.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Michaela.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's that's all we've got right now as far as I know those talks have not fully translated into a deal.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's still kind of holding out hope.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's got that chair kind of warmed up what he's probably hoping for.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: Zach is let's get to training him.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: Just hey CBS, give me you know you're not worried about calling games until September.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: and if no offer that I like comes my way, I'll go ahead and give up the ghost, hang up the number three, and go into media.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: But my question is Michaela and Uzek, how do you think Russ will do as a pregame guy?
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: So he would be replacing reportedly Matt Ryan on the CBS pregame show.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of analysis on TV, like ESPN and CVS, it's very polished, it's very many a facture chat that can come off disingenuous.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: So who better than Russ for that, you know?
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the most maybe disingenuous athlete that I've ever covered or come across, I think he'll do well, but he'll still be the same robotic delivery, robotic personality.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think he'll do decently well though.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: We shall see.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: Love you, Michaela.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks again, my friend.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's see, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: We have here.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: Dizzy D jumping back in brother.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you again.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: Second super chat of the night shout out says I was just going by the 49ers having a game in Mexico, but no Pona announced yet and it wouldn't have the time zone issues like other international games.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: So one of the chief complaints of the international games is not just the travels act, but the weird time zone stuff and just makes it harder on the fans to enjoy the game, make sure they can catch the game.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: Mexico City.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: You wouldn't have that problem, but it's already been announced all of the line up for the international games this season as far as I know Zach unless unless they're holding something back.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos are not in the international circuit this season, but that'll change and of course the NFL Zach I would assume is going to want to get them to Mexico sooner than later when it comes to their turn again to go international.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they're going to play a game on every continent.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: It won't be long from now before the NFL kicks off from Antarctica.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not even fully kidding with that.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: The NFL wants to maximize their global dominance.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: I am happy, though, that the Broncos are not playing in Mexico, dizzy.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I'm sorry, but I just don't like the international games.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: And we're already being screwed over enough, having them unblack Friday this year.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I hate that dude.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: I really do hate that.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: I can't tell you.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: Dave says, should I retire my let's ride personalized license plate?
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: I like it.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: I was thinking next for six.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude, you should.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, look, it's cool and all, but now the whole let's ride thing became a meme.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: And when Russ was here in especially Zach, that first year when we were all trying to like, he's got to be the answer to turn this ship around.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: The let's ride thing, Broncos Country, let's ride.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: like we're like okay let's ride dude this is a guy's act you know went to the to the playoffs eight of his 10 years and see out on nine-time pro bowl or Super Bowl champion let's ride but then Zach alas when you win what was it year one five games in 2022 and then the broncos one eight total seven with Russ in 2023 so you win 12 total games over the ensuing two seasons it became a meme.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Dave, this is kind of like why you never buy a current player's jersey, but not supposed to stylize your license plate after a high fat, and that's what Russell Wilson was.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: Though I understand it, you know, we talked about yesterday, really quickly, Chad, on KK about the, the city city hype and how we all fell for it, when said it was the quarterback for the AFC title game, it's so easy to buy in, it's so easy to feel like you're part of the team, literally and figuratively, so yeah, Dave, next for six, a lot better.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: For sure, German jumping in a dear member.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: German great to have you, brother.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you so much for being an MHH member.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: He says, hello, everyone, go Broncos.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: Can't wait to stop the chiefs aim into that.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: My brother, Shannon, confirming too.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, yep, form what we're here in no international game.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: She's thinking for prime time.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: They had four last year.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the other thing to think about and I factored this into my prediction why I could see it be in five.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Zack is the Broncos didn't just win 14 games last season, but like they were part of some of the most iconic finishes of the season.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: NFL fans saw them acquitt themselves well for the most part on.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean with the exception maybe Zack, actually now I'm thinking about it.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: Two of those
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: Two of those prime time games weren't so hot right the the JK Dobbins injury game against the Raiders on Thursday night football where they barely beat the Raiders
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then exactly look like world beaters in that game.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: And then of course, the chief's Christmas game, that was a tough game though.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you didn't wouldn't have mattered who the chief's drew that game, like they were, they were fighting hard just out of pride, but I digress the point here is for the most part, the Broncos were such a part of so many big iconic wins last year.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think that that bumped them up a little.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think they'll get five instead of for this year.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: I was gonna say every recent game in the Bonix era against Kansas City, it's been some sort of dramatic ending or some sort of tight contest.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I was trying to remember, yeah, they didn't have my homes, but I'm thinking of myself, wait, didn't they go back up quarterback almost lead a fourth quarter game tying or game winning drive?
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Aloudican, yeah, that actually happened.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: So the NFL knows this year's installment with Bonix and Mahomes playing in week one, they're gonna bring the fireworks, we just have to hope the referees
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: David Young can a dear member of just bringing up that an ACL recovery tearing when you tear the ACL usually eight to 12 months.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: But all the signs and the reporting on my homes is that he's on track, you know, superhuman my homes.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's on track for being ready.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, I mean, Adrian Peterson had the most not just rapid recovery's act that I've seen from
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: to in terms of being back on the field and ready to go.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: But then he comes back and he rushes for over 2,000 yards.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, that honestly, 2012 should have been Peyton Manning's fifth MVP and 2013 his sixth were it not Zach for Adrian Peterson's like monster recovery and then coming back better than ever.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, in other words, my point here, yes, that's an outlier.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: But it just goes to show you Zach, everybody's different.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: Also has a lot to do with genetics and how hard guys work their recovery and their rehab, but everything we're hearing out of KC is nothing has changed in terms of the expectation of him week one, but that is of course that consuming no setbacks.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: see something you said they're stood out to me and I think you were being sarcastic you said superhuman mohomes for it's for that reason shed the superlative is why he is going to be out there in week one he is still no matter what anyone says the NFL when he's healthy the NFL's cash cow he's the most recognizable player the most accomplished player on the field the NFL wants to exploit that as much as possible so he is going to be out there week one I would be shocked if he didn't play this game
- 32:47[SPEAKER_02]: William says, I'm going to go, I'm going to try and go to the case again.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: Now it'd be sick for you, bro.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: William also says, do you guys think we'll at least split with the chargers this year?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: So why is it a question?
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's a question because the Broncos have not beaten.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: a Jim Harbaw Chargers team that had Justin Herbert in the lineup.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: They did split last year, but let's not forget in that season finale's act, they rested Herbert.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: So the Chargers Sweat Denver in 24 split last season, what's your answer here for William?
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm a spoke.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: They should have been a sweep for the Broncos last season.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: We all talk about the leverage thing against the cults, but there was also a lot of Tiki tax stuff in that first chargers matchup.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, William, listen, someone asked me about this on KK and us as well chat.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: The other night about
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: the chargers.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think they've had a really strong offseason between the hiring of Mike McDaniel, the some of the player acquisitions they made, they're getting healthier, they're getting their tackles back.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to be an easy out by any means.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be in the Broncos, a thorn in their side once again, and they're going to be tough hard-fought matchups, although, like Chad said, I do think they will split again.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go one more to YouTube.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: We got Desmond Jones saying, what are the expectations for John Day Baron this year?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's a really interesting question.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's hard to have Zach.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: typical first-rounder pedigree expectations for a player who we know is not going to be a starter.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: Barring a trade or an injury, Jaday Barron is not a starter.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: Now, is there a chance he could come into training camp and unseat Jekwann Macmillan or Riley Moss?
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: There's always the chance, you know, he's a very good player.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason Zack, he was drafted in the first round.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: He had his ups and downs as a rookie, but showed a lot of promising stuff.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: I could see him frankly,
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: more likely beating out Riley Moss than McMillan, but either possibility is very, very slim, both Moss and McMillan are good at what they do.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: Trust it and love by the coaching staff.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: And the Broncos are fine with where they're at in their developmental kind of rebuild curve as a team.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, man, sometimes when you're that good, first rounders don't play as much.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like when you're that good, you don't just play your first rounder to play your first rounders.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's a long-winded explanation for me, Zach.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts for Desmond here?
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: I can't speak for the Broncos, obviously, but my read on this is it's kind of a crap or get off the pot time for John A. Baron in 2026.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: And what I mean by that is you have rally boss in a contract year.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: You have McMillan, not on an extension.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think he should be extended, but he's not extended as of right now.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: By the end of the season, I think the Broncos want to see Baron take a future starting spot at either nickel or outside corner back.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: They want him to be looking like a starter by the end of the year.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: And if he doesn't, that's a problem for the former number 20 overall draft.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: So he has a little leeway because he's not technically a starter.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: But by the end of the year, I think the Broncos want to see him develop into that for the future.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're right and look weather.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: Whether that stuff happens or whether a guy gets traded or not, you know, here's the thing, the Broncos surprised us all when they took Baron with the, with the first round pick last year, and we're like, man, this, they're so deep at corner back like how's he going to fit and ended up coming in handy big times.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to stay healthy in a given unit for all 17 games, so the likelihood that they'll have to call on him to at least be a spot starter is pretty high.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: So you're going to see plenty of barren even if he doesn't have to step in for injury.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to see him out there rotating certain packages, spelling McMillan sometimes spelling Moss sometimes like they're going to get their first round picks and snaps.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see him unseeding Moss or McMillan without a trade
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, put it this way.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be a role player because he's not a starter, but he has to be more than just a random tight end defender.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like he, a random Travis Kelsey defender.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: He has to be a legitimate quarterback that's capable of doing all things that a starting quarterback does because like it or not, and it's unfair, maybe it's to put the pressure on him, but that's the expectation when you're a first round pick.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: No matter where you're drafted, you expect to be a starter in the not so distant future.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, good to see it another dear member, everyone's ready for the schedule release tomorrow.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: In case you are just joining us, there was another leak tonight.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: And that is courtesy of OZNFL who reported, and it's a pretty credible account on X, by the way.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: Reporting that it's going to be Broncos at Steelers Week 12.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_02]: On Prime.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: as a Black Friday game, Black Friday game to be played Zach at three PM Eastern time, again, in Pittsburgh, so Eastern time, on Prime.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a Black Friday that day after Thanksgiving, one PM local time start for the Broncos.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: Just weird.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm fine with Steelers being a prime time game.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm fine with being on Prime, all that stuff.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the Black Friday thing, man.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_02]: It just bugs me.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it couldn't have been home game for the Broncos, they have to go literally across the entire country and play on a natural day for them.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not too wild about this, but that's the kind of the trade off, Chad, when you become one of the NFL's elite teams, they want to stick you into any relevant time slot possible, and they did just that with the Broncos.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_02]: You're muted.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_02]: I navigate it off for a second.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon is just like dizzy D very fixated on that Niners Mexico City game hopefully or Mexico game hopefully it be in the Broncos and all that.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: And the NFL had already locked up.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_02]: We forgot to mention.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for bringing it up, Shannon.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's Vikings, Niners in that game.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then Dave bringing up one of the reasons we continued to playing the jets was because they sucked and we sucked.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: Even Zach, 2025, we played him again right in London.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well,
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: You go, oh wait, that's right.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos finished despite making the playoffs.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: They did finish third.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: So they had a third place schedule in the AFC West.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: They finished third.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, that does probably have a lot to do with it.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if the NFL didn't treat this schedule for me, like the Coke formula, maybe we would know, but I don't know what the reason is.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought it's weird that literally every single season.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're not in the division, but yet the Broncos are playing the Jets.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, uh, Jaron Washington buddy good to see is I'm glad we play the chiefs in KC week one.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: We always play him in KC later in the season when it's cold.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Michaela brought that up too.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_02]: I hope we beat him so we can shut Nick right up.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was nice seeing him Zach humbled throughout all of last season like it was.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: he just had no answers right like he just was like fit to be tied as they say he could come up with nothing everything he would try to come up with it would crumble in on itself because the chiefs just could not pull it out and let's not forget guys what what's what week was it that my home's got hurt they had already been eliminated from the playoffs
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: 16 15 week 15 they'd already been eliminated for the playoffs or what was it two weeks a week prior and even that game the Broncos got him was it week 12 I think
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: This was like for the Broncos, they were in good shape, you know, they were on they only had two losses on the season at that point.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_02]: They were cruising.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: They could have quote unquote afforded a loss.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: It would have cost him in terms of the one seed, you know, with what the Patriots did.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_02]: However, in terms of the division, they could have afforded to lose that.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_02]: But the chiefs in Denver, that game.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: Man, they needed that win.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_02]: And it came down to the wire like it was one of those games, but the Broncos came out on top and it was just another, you know, the first death now, let's say, in their coffin because a couple weeks later, they straight up got eliminated.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: I remember that wasn't that right before the Broncos buy the first chiefs game.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then they had to buy them, they played the commanders after that.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're right.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: That was they were dead in the water at a certain point.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: yet that she still made it competitive on that Christmas game, but like you said, uh, uh, Geron, Nick Wright is going to talk no matter what, even if the Broncos win, he'll still find an excuse to, uh, to clown the Broncos, but it's, we're all going to take an immense sort of satisfaction knowing that he's still a loser.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it actually, now I think it was week 11 because the buy was week 12 and the commander's was week 13.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: Where's the schedule?
- 41:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to pull it up just so we can say for sure real quick.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to pull it up on Pro football reference even though it's a very heavy website.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so that was week 11 Zach and you were right.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: It was the game right before the buy they had their buy come out go on the road.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: Commanders, Raiders back to back road games coming out of the by so just an FYI on that But yeah, I think there's more reasons to be glad that it's in KC and not in Denver to open the season guys than the other way around Just because you know Putting a negative spin on it for a second like a worst case scenario.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry Drew If the Broncos did lose this game, you know, hey, it's week one you got 16 more, you know
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: opportunities to get back in the game and balance the scales and, you know, if you're going to lose once, they're okay.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: And the Broncos that underbonics, you know, they've kind of historically had slower start.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: So you can't be completely blind to that.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: What was it?
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: Owen two start as a rookie, one and two start.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: They won the season opener against Tennessee and then lost their next two.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_02]: So I remember Sean Peyton having to answer questions going into week three, 2024 of Haycoch, you know, the statistic show, Owen two teams, you're Owen two, and statistic show the improbability now, historically of you being able to make the playoffs as an Owen two team, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, hey, man, we got a lot of season left to play in the rest of his history.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: But so no, almost no matter which way you cut it, it's all good.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos playing the chiefs in Arrowhead to open the season here's my prediction.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: And whether you agree with me or not feel free to save this clip at some point later in the year when the Broncos host Kansas City, we're going to be so glad that we opened up at Casey Mark my words.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: uh... jaren real quick also said bonix had a broken bone in his ankle and it was a six-week recovery i'm not concerned at all about bow he'll be ready to go and camp i'm sure he won't play in the preseason well he had the broken bone sir fractured ankle
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: six-week recovery and then he's out of the boot and he's, you know, being able to work out and do his thing and then he went back in a couple weeks ago for his med check and they found, oh, we need to go in and do a cleanup at some point and he was offered the opportunity to do it after the 20, 26 season, but he rather would do it right away.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: So we did get it out of the way.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: And all it did in terms of his timeline guys is set him back to where he might miss
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: Some of June.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: Sean Peyton didn't exactly that guarantee it, but he said, look, you're probably going to see him in June.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: We're the ones right now, the Broncos holding him back from playing and doing more.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's ready to go.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: He's doing great.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_02]: training camp is absolutely on schedule.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, Jared, in a bottom line, worst case scenario training camp, but I do think you're going to see him for at some point in June, and I would not be surprised again.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about this last week.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: I would not be surprised if he's out there for all of the voluntary OTAs and mandatory many can.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is a random, and I agree with both of you.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sweating too much about Bose participation in training campus.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: As long as this is out there in week one, the Broncos will be fine.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: But I see some more rumors kind of unconfirmed on Twitter chat about the Broncos schedule.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently, week 10 is their by week, which is perfect kind of right in the middle of the season.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: And in week 16, again, this is like Twitter speculation, unconfirmed.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos will have a home game on Christmas.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I had to look it up to make sure what day Christmas is on.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a Sunday.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's a Friday.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: So that would be two Friday games for the Broncos this year.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: And Christmas like, man, again, again.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: Again, let's hope that's not true.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I wouldn't like that.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Ronk, brother, here he is.

- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: He says, regardless of the schedule, it's gonna be a rough season, meaning a harder season.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's gonna be a harder season.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: Every NFL season is rough, man.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, it's a war of attrition.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: 18 long weeks, 17 games, and the Broncos are drawn a first place schedule.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: They earned that, though.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: What does that mean?
- 47:47[SPEAKER_02]: in the same way when we allow.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_02]: I have the Raiders earned themselves a number one overall pick again, huh, by sucking, right?
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos invert that, other side of the coin.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_02]: They earned a first place schedule because they were that good and they persevered in so many high pressure situations, high stakes, clutch situations and man.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: I just think this team Zach turned a corner unlocked something last season.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: Now,
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: We'll find out this will be a season that will kind of determine an answer for the NFL.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_02]: How for real is this Bronco turnaround, you know, like Bonyx, you heard Justin Simmons talking about this a few days ago with K Adams echoing things that Zack and I have said many times, sorry, but Bonyx is the best of the 2024 quarterback class.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_02]: You haven't seen that guy.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: There's an article up on my hotel.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: You got to go check it out.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_02]: Denver Broncos on SI.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_02]: But he basically all paraphrase him, Zack.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, look, people want to focus on with the quarterback, you know, stats and all that stuff.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: But quarterback, it's about winning.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_02]: And no quarterback from that class has one more games than Bonax.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: True.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: And guess what?
- 48:56[SPEAKER_02]: Justin probably didn't have it right in front of him.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: So you're forgiven for not knowing guess what?
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: Bonax also has the most stats from that class as well.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_02]: What is he missing?
- 49:06[SPEAKER_02]: Why people still don't give him that credit?
- 49:10[SPEAKER_02]: So to speak is the accolades.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_02]: He can't say he's a two-time pro-border.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_02]: He can't say he's a this many time first team all pro.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: He could have said he's a pro-border after his rookie years act, but he said, nah, I'm going to go ahead and get this little procedure done instead of extending my season by one more week and going to a pro-border games and Florida just so I can put that on my Wikipedia or whatever.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: So, Bonyx, Zach, the Broncos, this is the season.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: Last year was their breakout in my opinion.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: That was them saying, you know what, hey, here we are.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_02]: This is their opportunity, 2026, to really hammer home and make it clear that it's fully a new era where here to stay Denver Broncos.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I can't say that I echo who is a drew his optimism about a perfect season from before, but David, I guarantee you before last season, they were saying the same things it's going to be a rough season for the Seattle Seahawks, it's going to be a rough season for the New England Patriots, what happened?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Both those teams made it to the Super Bowl, the Seahawks of all teams with Sam Darnold, they won the Super Bowl.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying it's going to
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: their brand of football.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be relatively easy.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_01]: And that says.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: All right, guys.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, it's a season.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_02]: You take a one game at a time.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_02]: Take it by the ancient descent by the yard, it gets hard, baby.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right, we got a special mile-high salute and shout out to all the great Super Chat Superstars and dear members tonight helping us keep the lights on like the Duchess Michaela Parker, multiple Super's like Shannon Mills off the top rope.

- 51:14[SPEAKER_02]: So can't wait.
