- 0:00Speaker 1: We welcome you back, yes side the steam room. Great
- 0:03Speaker 1: time of year, two of my favorite people.
- 0:06Speaker 2: This is my favorite time of it. This is my
- 0:08Speaker 2: last Madness, this is my last NBA game.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Yeah. And then I go into the fabulous time of
- 0:15Speaker 3: the year, and.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Let's see what you do here, because we got two
- 0:19Speaker 1: iconic When you think of March Madness and you think
- 0:22Speaker 1: of iconic figures, these guys Chris Webber and Jalen Rose
- 0:27Speaker 1: from the Fab five early nineties at Michigan. Man, it's
- 0:31Speaker 1: great to have both of you together here. There's gonna
- 0:33Speaker 1: be a lot of fun. I hope you're looking forward
- 0:35Speaker 1: to it.
- 0:36Speaker 4: Absolutely appreciate the love.
- 0:38Speaker 5: This is our first interview in a while doing together.
- 0:40Speaker 5: I can't I don't know if I remember when we
- 0:42Speaker 5: were doing this. So it's great to have you two
- 0:43Speaker 5: guys and to be able to talk.
- 0:45Speaker 6: I would say twenty years ago on Bestdamn Sports Show,
- 0:48Speaker 6: we did a buddy interview. That was the last time
- 0:51Speaker 6: we've done this.
- 0:51Speaker 4: DJ and Chuck.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Nice pull on the Best known Sports show. Hey, you
- 0:56Speaker 1: know the only rule of the steam.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Room, right, what's that?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Keep a towel on.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Keep your towel on.
- 1:03Speaker 4: So I want to.
- 1:04Speaker 6: Introduce the word that I use a lot when I go.
- 1:07Speaker 4: To the gym. It's called executive workout. Man.
- 1:11Speaker 6: That includes the steam room with the vapors and all
- 1:14Speaker 6: of that.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Do y'all use that?
- 1:15Speaker 4: Will y'all get into the steam room? That?
- 1:18Speaker 3: Well? Yeah, to my executive workout.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I sit in the whirlpool for half an hour and
- 1:24Speaker 2: a steam and a steam room for half an hour.
- 1:27Speaker 2: That's why that's my executive workout. I'm not even gonna lie.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And I might do a couple of executive barbels. No,
- 1:33Speaker 1: there's no barbelle, little ten pounder and and and grunt
- 1:38Speaker 1: and grown anyway. So here's here's a question I thought
- 1:41Speaker 1: of for you, two knuckleheads. What's more likely to happen
- 1:47Speaker 1: the Michigan Wolverines go to the Final four or the
- 1:50Speaker 1: Detroit Pistons go to the NBA finals.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Oh oh, that's there.
- 1:55Speaker 1: That's exactly the reaction I wanted.
- 1:59Speaker 6: I'll say Michigan final four because that's gonna happen first,
- 2:03Speaker 6: and then the Pistons also going to make it to
- 2:05Speaker 6: the finals.
- 2:05Speaker 4: EJ.
- 2:06Speaker 6: I think both of them are going to take place
- 2:07Speaker 6: this year. It's our turn, it really is. And a
- 2:10Speaker 6: lot of times people think we being Homers because you
- 2:14Speaker 6: know Detroiters, we're very uniquely loyal to all of our squads.
- 2:18Speaker 6: Like my relationship with the Lions is it's an abusive relationship.
- 2:23Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, it really is. They made
- 2:26Speaker 4: the playoffs.
- 2:27Speaker 6: Last year, we lost both of our coordinators in one
- 2:29Speaker 6: fifteen games, and this year we need to make the playoffs.
- 2:32Speaker 6: So like Detroiters, we're really like riding out for our teams.
- 2:36Speaker 6: And I yes believe Michigan can make the Final four
- 2:39Speaker 6: winning championship and the Pistons can make the finals.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Now you've had sufficient time to hear what your cohort
- 2:46Speaker 1: has to say, what do you think and see I.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Think to truthfully ask the question, I think is it's
- 2:51Speaker 5: more likely Michigan makes the Final four because they're top four,
- 2:55Speaker 5: they're good, their experience from other places, and when you
- 2:59Speaker 5: have young team like the Pistons, I'm just excited about
- 3:02Speaker 5: this year and the next four to five years. Is
- 3:05Speaker 5: you know, they feel themselves out, have some wins, lost
- 3:08Speaker 5: to some heartaches, So I would say, you know, that's
- 3:11Speaker 5: I think Michigan is more likely. But I think I
- 3:14Speaker 5: have the unique experience of going to two marches. I
- 3:18Speaker 5: went to the million Man March in Washington.
- 3:21Speaker 3: D C. My brother's wan and a whole bunch.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Of teammates, and I went to the million man marks
- 3:26Speaker 5: when we lost oh in sixteen in Detroit and put a.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Fear bag on my head and make sure I let
- 3:31Speaker 2: them know how unhappy I.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Abused by my life a millionnire.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what, actually, number one, I think it's
- 3:41Speaker 2: great when the Pistons do well because you can't tell
- 3:45Speaker 2: the NBA history with talking about the bad boys. But
- 3:49Speaker 2: what's really funny about that question, Man, It's been a
- 3:52Speaker 2: long time since you've been able to say that that
- 3:55Speaker 2: the Pistons were like because you know, they've done a
- 3:58Speaker 2: hell of a job there. Obviously Cad and Jala and
- 4:01Speaker 2: Tobias and all those guys. But I'm at it's gonna
- 4:05Speaker 2: be interesting. I mean, obviously the elephant in the room
- 4:08Speaker 2: is Jason Tatum because they probably were favored three weeks
- 4:14Speaker 2: ago or had a really good chant. Now everybody's jumping
- 4:17Speaker 2: on the Boston Celtics badwagon, so I can't wait. And
- 4:21Speaker 2: we got the East this year, So Jalen, when we
- 4:23Speaker 2: come to Detroit, you're.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Gonna take me in Ernie ou Soete get a good place. Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Hey, so guys, you know March madness. With all the
- 4:33Speaker 2: issues going on in college sports, nothing can screw up
- 4:36Speaker 2: Mars Madness.
- 4:37Speaker 3: But I've told you this, Jayalen, and I told this Chris.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I only have you know. When you're in the NBA,
- 4:42Speaker 3: you're busy.
- 4:44Speaker 2: And back in the old days before they did that
- 4:46Speaker 2: great TV deal where they showed every game, which is
- 4:49Speaker 2: one of the most groundbreaking things in television history. Back
- 4:53Speaker 2: in our day, you got the one game they want
- 4:56Speaker 2: you to see, and it was gonna be like North
- 4:58Speaker 2: Carolina Duke had somebody like that. The little schools had
- 5:02Speaker 2: zero chance of getting on television and you only saw
- 5:05Speaker 2: the game in your reasons. It's a groundbreaking thing. But
- 5:09Speaker 2: I just want to say this. When I played in
- 5:11Speaker 2: the NBA, it's only two things I remember. The first
- 5:16Speaker 2: thing about Mars Madow was Mattic Johnson against Larry Berg.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I think I was in the high school then if
- 5:21Speaker 2: I remember, or maybe I was a fresh one somewhere
- 5:23Speaker 2: in there. But the Fab five was like it was
- 5:28Speaker 2: must sy TV. Because when you started reading the story, Jaylen,
- 5:33Speaker 2: when did y'all realize? Because I know coach. First of all,
- 5:37Speaker 2: the documentary is incredible, incredible, But when did y'all y'all
- 5:44Speaker 2: had to get together and think about maybe we should.
- 5:47Speaker 3: All go to school together. What was that little thing
- 5:51Speaker 3: going on?
- 5:53Speaker 6: So Charles, you know, we love and idolize you, and
- 5:57Speaker 6: Ernie you know, you a legend in the game. We
- 5:59Speaker 6: appreciate you and forever grateful and for real, we literally
- 6:04Speaker 6: were just sponges of the shoulders of the giants that
- 6:08Speaker 6: we stood on. So we grew up idolizing John Thompson
- 6:13Speaker 6: and those Georgetown teams and UNLV and those squads and
- 6:18Speaker 6: so like see Web and I for those that don't know,
- 6:22Speaker 6: played together and AAU when we were twelve or thirteen
- 6:25Speaker 6: years old. We played for a team called the super Friends.
- 6:28Speaker 6: So we talked about trying to play high school together.
- 6:32Speaker 6: And initially we were trying to make that happen.
- 6:35Speaker 4: It just didn't. It just didn't go down.
- 6:38Speaker 6: So we were like, we're gonna go to college and
- 6:40Speaker 6: play together. So we felt like that was happeninging regardless
- 6:44Speaker 6: of whatever school it ended up being. And so as
- 6:48Speaker 6: we continued to play in high school or whatever, Obviously
- 6:50Speaker 6: Seweb mister basketball number one player in the country. Juwan
- 6:53Speaker 6: signed in Michigan. We all go to the McDonald's game.
- 6:56Speaker 6: That's when we all meet and I know, you remember
- 6:58Speaker 6: that Seawell so we can join rooms. That was had
- 7:04Speaker 6: a shared bathroom and we sat at the McDonald's game
- 7:07Speaker 6: and we talked all night about, oh man, we're gonna
- 7:09Speaker 6: go to the same school.
- 7:10Speaker 4: We're gonna change the game.
- 7:11Speaker 6: It was me ce Well, Jawan and Jimmy King and
- 7:16Speaker 6: so we were like, well, we're gonna go.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Undefeated, We're gonna win it every year. We're gonna da nah.
- 7:21Speaker 4: And we didn't do that, but we ended up going together.
- 7:24Speaker 6: And the amazing thing about that time is that's when
- 7:27Speaker 6: people were choosing schools where they can be the guy.
- 7:30Speaker 6: And it was awesome to be joined by, you know,
- 7:33Speaker 6: multiple other all Americans who did something special at U
- 7:36Speaker 6: of M Chuck.
- 7:37Speaker 5: You know, when you played with like Dwayne and Tisdale's
- 7:40Speaker 5: and others, and you had guys that would let you
- 7:44Speaker 5: do your job and then you would help them do
- 7:46Speaker 5: their job. Jawan came to me in the middle of
- 7:49Speaker 5: the year because Jaleen and I have been wanting to
- 7:51Speaker 5: go to high school together, but I was I was
- 7:53Speaker 5: going to Michigan State and or somewhere else, dude, and
- 7:58Speaker 5: I got.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Rooted, and I didn't think I knew at the time.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Jayleen was Syracuse.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Jay member of unlving you, and I see thinking like
- 8:06Speaker 5: how because Michigan was really sorry those two years before
- 8:09Speaker 5: we came in. And one thing Jawan said to me, like, well, listen,
- 8:13Speaker 5: we could all go to school together. We're gonna start
- 8:16Speaker 5: And this is what got me to He's like you
- 8:18Speaker 5: and Jayden on each other forever, but me and you
- 8:19Speaker 5: could switch on defense.
- 8:21Speaker 3: And I knew that Juwan was a.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Great defender, and all I kept thinking was man, and
- 8:26Speaker 5: here's a big fellow that could pass. And he was unselfish.
- 8:29Speaker 5: And we played against Juwan's team all through high school.
- 8:32Speaker 5: So it was Jayalen and I first at twelve years old.
- 8:34Speaker 5: But I became so close with Juwan probably at fifteen,
- 8:38Speaker 5: that he would call our phone. And if Illinois did
- 8:41Speaker 5: not go on probation that year and he could have
- 8:45Speaker 5: played for his team up in Champagne, I don't know
- 8:47Speaker 5: if they would have been a Fab five. So when
- 8:50Speaker 5: Juwan kind of was out of that, mister basketball and
- 8:52Speaker 5: let me go to to let me think where to go.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Jawan was the first to really say Michigan because Jalen
- 8:57Speaker 5: and I was like, man, they kind of we want
- 8:59Speaker 5: to play together, but they're kind of sorry. How we're
- 9:01Speaker 5: gonna do this? So it was it was a group effort.
- 9:04Speaker 5: And I remember being in the room with Jalen when
- 9:08Speaker 5: we first got the schedule and we went through and
- 9:11Speaker 5: I remember going, man, we're gonna win this game day, like,
- 9:13Speaker 5: we can win this game. We might lose this game,
- 9:15Speaker 5: and we were like, man, we might only lose four
- 9:17Speaker 5: games this year. And so I just remember the evolution
- 9:20Speaker 5: of dreamming, wanting to be like the UNLV's, wanting to
- 9:22Speaker 5: be like all the great teams, and then kind of
- 9:26Speaker 5: being in our in our own cubby host saying, man,
- 9:29Speaker 5: we could do this. But it was Chuck. It was
- 9:31Speaker 5: the best feeling to be able to play with their
- 9:33Speaker 5: friends at that time when you know when the word
- 9:36Speaker 5: team and family really meant a lot, and you know,
- 9:38Speaker 5: it's always been one of the most special groups that
- 9:41Speaker 5: I've ever been a part of.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Yo, you just reminded me of something.
- 9:44Speaker 6: You just reminded me of something, Chuck, when you guys
- 9:46Speaker 6: had the Dream Team that same year, see where remember
- 9:51Speaker 6: we played against the Soviets in downtown Detroit at Kobo
- 9:54Speaker 6: Hall and our all star team literally included Detroit eight
- 10:00Speaker 6: players in Juwan.
- 10:01Speaker 4: That was our international team.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Wow, we played against a professional Soviet union team. And
- 10:08Speaker 6: also when we were in high school, Juan Chicago team
- 10:11Speaker 6: came to Saint Cecilia and played against us. And coincidentally,
- 10:15Speaker 6: see web I saw with Sean Leonard last night for
- 10:18Speaker 6: the first time in years where.
- 10:20Speaker 4: You grew up around the corner from.
- 10:22Speaker 6: Literally and Juwan Chicago team and our Michigan AU team
- 10:28Speaker 6: got into a fight.
- 10:30Speaker 3: A big fight.
- 10:31Speaker 5: The game I shot holding Jawan like this and we're
- 10:35Speaker 5: looking at two.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I got two things real quick. So won the Soviet
- 10:43Speaker 1: game that you just talked about. We did, all right,
- 10:46Speaker 1: we did number two?
- 10:47Speaker 3: Yes?
- 10:48Speaker 1: How many How many games did the super Friends lose?
- 10:51Speaker 3: For real?
- 10:51Speaker 4: For real?
- 10:52Speaker 6: The only time I remember us getting sank for real
- 10:56Speaker 6: is when we was in Saint Louis thirteen nine and
- 10:58Speaker 6: we played against Grant Hill.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Let me tell you the STORYJ.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I remember us.
- 11:03Speaker 6: They had uniforms, they had they had fans flying, you
- 11:08Speaker 6: know what I'm saying.
- 11:09Speaker 4: We was like, oh, we about to crush.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Them, EJ. We thought we were so good. We thought
- 11:13Speaker 3: we were so good.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Ej twelve years old, a rag tag bunch, you know,
- 11:17Speaker 5: Rick Machorn, he used to support and sponsor us after
- 11:20Speaker 5: and a bunch of guys. So we had a lot
- 11:22Speaker 5: of people pour into us and we go, you know,
- 11:25Speaker 5: we're feeling ourselves because we used to play.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Older teams, and we win. We get out of Monroe, Michigan.
- 11:31Speaker 5: We go to Saint Louis Man and to me, that
- 11:33Speaker 5: was a life changing moment because I saw Jamal Mashburn
- 11:36Speaker 5: and I said, I don't know what the hell I'm
- 11:38Speaker 5: about to do. Saw Sean Bradley, Searan Bradley walking in
- 11:42Speaker 5: with my team, this guy seven five, and I'm like,
- 11:45Speaker 5: what's going on? So that experience for us detroitors that
- 11:48Speaker 5: knew everything and thought the world was ours, to go
- 11:50Speaker 5: out there and see, oh my god, they're much more
- 11:54Speaker 5: experience out here than we thought that was. That was
- 11:56Speaker 5: a special trip and it really changed the way that
- 11:59Speaker 5: we focus on basketball.
- 12:01Speaker 4: But it would have been better if we didn't stay
- 12:02Speaker 4: up all night.
- 12:03Speaker 6: We was out till like five in the morning, just
- 12:06Speaker 6: for no reason, just walking around, happy to be out
- 12:09Speaker 6: of the hood.
- 12:09Speaker 4: We just walking around, walking.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Around that was another. Hey, we didn't. We just moved.
- 12:20Speaker 3: You just moved to another hood, Saint Louis. Sorry, but yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 3: it ain't like that was better than Detroit. Hey. You
- 12:28Speaker 3: know when I went to Auburn, I.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Felt a type of way because football is so.
- 12:37Speaker 3: That it's just King Kong, and it used to pisch
- 12:42Speaker 3: me off so bad.
- 12:43Speaker 2: We'd go in in the dining hall and us and
- 12:49Speaker 2: the swimmers and the other sports eight and we'd have
- 12:52Speaker 2: like hamburgers and hot dogs and like that.
- 12:56Speaker 3: And then I like, well, you got to be out
- 12:58Speaker 3: the you gotta be out the.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Dining hall seven. And we're like wow, because the football
- 13:03Speaker 2: team's coming in. Then you see them putting out steak
- 13:05Speaker 2: in lobster.
- 13:05Speaker 3: And I'm like, this is a blobsters, this is a bull.
- 13:10Speaker 3: So we don't to play hoop at the football school?
- 13:15Speaker 2: Are you shies right now? We got hamburgers and hot dogs?
- 13:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Dan Dyke, y'all got to be out by seven,
- 13:23Speaker 2: and like we had to rush. We had to rush
- 13:25Speaker 2: out of practice to eat. We had to be out
- 13:28Speaker 2: by like six fifty five. And then you walk it
- 13:31Speaker 2: out and you see biggetting steak in lobsters. Did y'all
- 13:35Speaker 2: feel that type of way at Michigan. The first year,
- 13:38Speaker 2: I felt that way the first year. You know, our
- 13:41Speaker 2: time in Michigan was great.
- 13:42Speaker 5: We had everybody from Shoot the Heisman winner in Desmond
- 13:48Speaker 5: to you know, really great football teams. So I remember
- 13:51Speaker 5: we used to have these mentor lunches or mentor dinners
- 13:55Speaker 5: and that was the only thing.
- 13:57Speaker 3: We wanted to go to because when the mentors came,
- 13:59Speaker 3: we ate great.
- 14:00Speaker 5: But we made a lot of comments, especially Jalen, about
- 14:05Speaker 5: what we were.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Given to eat then and what I want to hear
- 14:08Speaker 3: your thoughts on that.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Jack, Now, I'm you, I can plain the whole time.
- 14:14Speaker 6: And Michigan is one hundred percent of football school. And
- 14:17Speaker 6: by the way, respectfully, and I'm a season ticket holder
- 14:21Speaker 6: and I'm a lum and Fab five shout the Dusty Mail.
- 14:24Speaker 6: I love him very much, and I think we're gonna
- 14:25Speaker 6: win it this year. But to this day, Michigan still
- 14:28Speaker 6: hasn't acknowledged the Fab five and our banners are not up.
- 14:32Speaker 6: That's definitely a football school, and I know people are
- 14:35Speaker 6: not gonna like this, EJ. If we went to Michigan State,
- 14:39Speaker 6: they would treat us different because that's a basketball school.
- 14:42Speaker 6: So you're exactly right, Chuck, And yes, the football team.
- 14:47Speaker 6: When you having one hundred and fifteen hundred and twenty
- 14:49Speaker 6: thousand every Saturday.
- 14:52Speaker 4: That's a football school. That's what it's gonna be.
- 14:56Speaker 6: And we did since that, We did feel that, and
- 14:59Speaker 6: we still sense and feel that right now as we're
- 15:03Speaker 6: not being acknowledged by the university.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Hey, when I saw you guys play, there seemed tell
- 15:08Speaker 1: me if this is accurate, there was a joy with
- 15:13Speaker 1: an edge or maybe more than an edge of anger. Correct.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I think it was a joy.
- 15:21Speaker 5: With the edge of we know where we come from,
- 15:23Speaker 5: we better make the most of this, and let's show
- 15:27Speaker 5: the people where we're from how much fun we're happening.
- 15:31Speaker 5: In my opinion, before we went out every game, everybody
- 15:34Speaker 5: said something different, But I was like our moms, our family,
- 15:38Speaker 5: the neighborhoods watching and I remember having a feeling that
- 15:42Speaker 5: we were taking everybody that we knew with us on
- 15:45Speaker 5: the national platform because it was no TV then, or
- 15:48Speaker 5: there was no internet then and other things. So you
- 15:51Speaker 5: got your reward from going back home talking to people.
- 15:54Speaker 5: And I'm saying, man, I felt so proud of you.
- 15:56Speaker 5: I can't believe that you guys did it so For me,
- 15:58Speaker 5: it was like, oh, yeah, we had that is we
- 16:00Speaker 5: had a true friendship, a true friendship where guys would sacrificed,
- 16:04Speaker 5: where guys wanted to win, where we could hold each
- 16:06Speaker 5: other accountable and EJ I think it all started with
- 16:09Speaker 5: the true friendship that we had because basketball on the
- 16:12Speaker 5: court was I won't say easy, but it was easier
- 16:15Speaker 5: than saying watching Juwan's grandmother pass away the day he
- 16:20Speaker 5: signed with Michigan, or it was easier knowing the stories
- 16:23Speaker 5: that ran Jimmy or what you Want or Jalen had
- 16:25Speaker 5: gone through. And so we had a real commitment to
- 16:28Speaker 5: each other. And I think that's what people saw, the
- 16:30Speaker 5: commitment that we had behind closed doors to each other.
- 16:33Speaker 5: And having that commitment allowed us to have so much
- 16:36Speaker 5: more fun on the floor because we sincerely trusted each other.
- 16:40Speaker 5: And that's what, to me was one of the best
- 16:41Speaker 5: things about playing together.
- 16:43Speaker 4: And I want to bring y'all into the locker room.
- 16:45Speaker 4: I know what I'm the founder of.
- 16:46Speaker 6: A school, and I know people might take this cliff
- 16:49Speaker 6: and be like, oh, he's talking like this, So I
- 16:51Speaker 6: want to do a precursor to what I'm about to say.
- 16:54Speaker 6: You remember see where when we got in the huddle.
- 16:56Speaker 6: The thing that we said was nut check. That meant
- 17:00Speaker 6: was one for all, all for one like that, there's
- 17:04Speaker 6: nobody bigger than the program. And that's how we moved
- 17:07Speaker 6: on campus. That's how we moved during the games. That's
- 17:11Speaker 6: how it was a study hall.
- 17:14Speaker 4: It was.
- 17:15Speaker 6: And this was at a time where you needed to
- 17:17Speaker 6: go back to the dorm and check the answering machine.
- 17:21Speaker 6: And a lot of people don't realize me and see
- 17:22Speaker 6: where were roommates our freshman year and at Michigan to
- 17:26Speaker 6: your point, Chuck, we didn't have a bathroom. We had
- 17:30Speaker 6: the community bathroom at the end of the hall.
- 17:34Speaker 3: We might break this, so I want to hear the.
- 17:42Speaker 5: Bathroom and then just go to that jay you got
- 17:44Speaker 5: to go, I know you.
- 17:46Speaker 6: So there may have been at a time where we
- 17:49Speaker 6: had one or two forty ounces and once we finished
- 17:51Speaker 6: those forty ounces, we might have filled them up with
- 17:54Speaker 6: urine because we didn't just feel like going to the
- 17:56Speaker 6: end of the hall every time they use the bathroom,
- 17:59Speaker 6: like we lived that life andj.
- 18:02Speaker 5: If you came into the room, it was one hundred
- 18:04Speaker 5: bottles of beer with p in it. Because we were
- 18:07Speaker 5: not trying to go down the hall to the bathroom
- 18:13Speaker 5: to be eighteen of young coke, beer, coke bottles, and
- 18:17Speaker 5: Fago bottles, all filled with p in the room because
- 18:23Speaker 5: because of the eleventh or night, you didn't want to
- 18:25Speaker 5: walk to another floor.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Just watching Jayleen's reaction to that as priceless.
- 18:31Speaker 2: He didn't like that because mother. His mom also cuts
- 18:35Speaker 2: us out about that. There's nothing worse than the community bathroom.
- 18:39Speaker 6: Imagine our collegiate Dayton life when we share the room.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Just think about that, we share the room.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And imagine EJ. Imagine this, j e J.
- 18:48Speaker 5: You're a well versed, you know Chucky guys, well versed,
- 18:51Speaker 5: got you guys listen to you know everything, you know
- 18:54Speaker 5: rock and roll, wrap, you know pop. I'm sure right,
- 18:57Speaker 5: you know, depending on what move I did, I did.
- 19:00Speaker 5: But my roommate at eleven o'clock at night, he decided that,
- 19:04Speaker 5: you know, when girls came over or we want to
- 19:07Speaker 5: hang out, he would turn into a rap concert. So
- 19:09Speaker 5: you're only hearing public entity from eleven to probably three
- 19:13Speaker 5: in the morning, which is why our whole seventh floor
- 19:15Speaker 5: South Quad wanted to kick us out with ra that.
- 19:20Speaker 5: You know, that's another story as well, Jaylee.
- 19:23Speaker 3: But we we enjoyed college. I'll just put it that way.
- 19:26Speaker 4: TRUSTA, It's a great time of the year.
- 19:28Speaker 3: When did y'all know that y'all were rock stars?
- 19:33Speaker 6: I felt like it initially, seewell when we went to
- 19:37Speaker 6: KME or Summer Jam and all of the artists knew
- 19:42Speaker 6: who we.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Were after our freshman year.
- 19:45Speaker 6: Yeah, it was the biggest Summer Jam concert happening. So
- 19:48Speaker 6: it was TLC MC hammer, EPMD, Naughty by Nature, like
- 19:53Speaker 6: every artist from across the country was at this show
- 19:57Speaker 6: and being friends. Out to line, be digital, underground, money,
- 20:02Speaker 6: be clean, the family. We got a chance too short.
- 20:08Speaker 6: We got a chance to like have VIP treatment and
- 20:11Speaker 6: for them to all know who we were and stuff
- 20:13Speaker 6: like that, a young Tupac Shakur getting a chance to
- 20:16Speaker 6: meet him. It was just like really awesome that they
- 20:19Speaker 6: knew our names. And at that time, that's when I
- 20:22Speaker 6: felt like, you know, we're doing something special.
- 20:25Speaker 3: I'm not talking about after the season.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I'm talking about when y'all went on the road, because once,
- 20:32Speaker 2: I mean y'all, like when you went on the road,
- 20:34Speaker 2: like the Fab five of coming to town, It's gonna
- 20:38Speaker 2: be sold out, That's what I meant. I mean, obviously,
- 20:41Speaker 2: after the season, everybody knew, But I'm talking about when
- 20:43Speaker 2: y'all went on the road the first time.
- 20:45Speaker 3: You're like, oh, this is something different.
- 20:48Speaker 5: I think when we played Duke at home, Chuck, because
- 20:52Speaker 5: it was a basketball school a football school, so you know, again,
- 20:57Speaker 5: this is a year, you have a Heisman winner, you
- 20:58Speaker 5: have all this going on in Michigan, and people on
- 21:02Speaker 5: that Saturday wanted to come to our game. And that
- 21:05Speaker 5: was the first time ever when I heard people talking
- 21:07Speaker 5: about the basketball game over it.
- 21:09Speaker 3: You know, we have to move the students section down.
- 21:11Speaker 5: It was a whole kind of reintroduction of the basketball program.
- 21:15Speaker 3: And when we played Duke and all.
- 21:17Speaker 5: The comments of the fans and the football fans, and
- 21:19Speaker 5: to see how on campus, you know, we were kind
- 21:23Speaker 5: of up there with the other team. That that was
- 21:25Speaker 5: for me it And I'm sure there are other examples
- 21:28Speaker 5: when we went on the road and they had some
- 21:30Speaker 5: pretty good chants, you know, because when you have chance
- 21:32Speaker 5: and you get booed on your way out, you know
- 21:34Speaker 5: you made it. But I think at home, after losing
- 21:37Speaker 5: that game and seeing how the fans reaction was because
- 21:40Speaker 5: we didn't even have TVs in the dorm to watch
- 21:42Speaker 5: Sports Center so a lot of times we had to,
- 21:43Speaker 5: you know, figure out.
- 21:44Speaker 3: What was the national thought about us.
- 21:46Speaker 5: But I really realized that our first big game playing
- 21:49Speaker 5: against Christian Latnon and those guys, that wow, we have
- 21:52Speaker 5: we have something special the people, the people feel us
- 21:54Speaker 5: right now.
- 21:55Speaker 6: And how about this one, seeweb and I agree with that,
- 21:58Speaker 6: So I'll just give a different, different answer. How about
- 22:01Speaker 6: the first time we hooped at the dorm and see,
- 22:04Speaker 6: players don't even hoop outside anymore. When we first all
- 22:08Speaker 6: moved in the dorm and arrived, we went outside and
- 22:11Speaker 6: was hooping behind the dormant.
- 22:14Speaker 4: It was almost like the Rucker.
- 22:15Speaker 6: Everybody was outside of their dorm rooms windows watching us play.
- 22:20Speaker 6: We was throwing lives, we was laughing. That was the
- 22:23Speaker 6: first time we actually all were in the same place
- 22:25Speaker 6: at the same time, playing together.
- 22:27Speaker 1: See what. Let me ask you this, And I'm not
- 22:30Speaker 1: forget me for doing this, but i want to ask
- 22:32Speaker 1: you because you and I have known each other for
- 22:34Speaker 1: a long time. But I'm just wondering, on the other
- 22:36Speaker 1: side of the timeout game, how did that impact you,
- 22:39Speaker 1: How did that change you? And what did it teach you?
- 22:46Speaker 3: Well? I always say this, EJ.
- 22:47Speaker 5: If I had one game to show my children, right
- 22:50Speaker 5: and they never saw me play or anything. I would
- 22:54Speaker 5: show them the Timeout game because that game I was
- 22:56Speaker 5: the best player on the floor.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I led points and scoring and revid than others.
- 23:01Speaker 5: And I would show them how it doesn't matter that
- 23:04Speaker 5: you can have a great game and you can still lose.
- 23:07Speaker 5: And I would hope that their thought would be damn,
- 23:11Speaker 5: Deddy was that good and he continued to get better.
- 23:14Speaker 3: After the worst moment. So I hope that's what it proves.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Because it took a lot and a lot of wonderful
- 23:21Speaker 5: people around me to keep encouraging me. And you know,
- 23:23Speaker 5: luckily I was the number one pick right after and
- 23:26Speaker 5: and things like that. But it was a difficult process
- 23:30Speaker 5: right after carling it because you feel lonely. You know
- 23:33Speaker 5: what you did? You know what others did? You know
- 23:36Speaker 5: how it could have gone. You're mad at God, You're
- 23:37Speaker 5: mad at yourself. You're happy that you have another opportunity,
- 23:41Speaker 5: you know what I mean. It's just so many mixed emotions.
- 23:43Speaker 5: That one I'm proud of, definitely how I handle it
- 23:48Speaker 5: after with my father, you know, having the father, knowing
- 23:51Speaker 5: you can't blame, take whatever rap they're going to give you,
- 23:54Speaker 5: and continue you don't be bitter, and so Ernie, it's
- 23:57Speaker 5: been a you know, it's always a working product us
- 24:00Speaker 5: to continue to try to get better. And so it
- 24:02Speaker 5: was tough going through that. And then, you know, Chuck,
- 24:06Speaker 5: you kind of asked earlier, when did we know we
- 24:09Speaker 5: were rock stars? Well, one of the things that lets
- 24:12Speaker 5: you know rock stars is the validation of your peers,
- 24:15Speaker 5: and so a lot of NBA dudes reached out like,
- 24:18Speaker 5: oh man, worry about that, this is what you need
- 24:19Speaker 5: to do. You know, it was encouragement to get to
- 24:21Speaker 5: the next level. So ej I leaned on a lot
- 24:24Speaker 5: of people to to get through it. And you know,
- 24:29Speaker 5: I wouldn't change I wouldn't change the thing. You know,
- 24:32Speaker 5: there's so many mistakes that we make in life, and
- 24:35Speaker 5: what I've learned is that how we define ourselves is
- 24:38Speaker 5: really how we handle our moments. And so for me,
- 24:41Speaker 5: you know, there's so many teams that were number one
- 24:44Speaker 5: that you definitely that you don't even remember.
- 24:47Speaker 1: That's a hell of an answer, man, it really is.
- 24:50Speaker 1: And I'm and I'm wondering, Jalen, try to take me
- 24:55Speaker 1: into that locker room after that game, and what did
- 24:58Speaker 1: you say to Chris?
- 24:59Speaker 6: So this This is the amazing thing about team sports.
- 25:04Speaker 6: It's the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
- 25:07Speaker 6: And what I really hate it was almost like when
- 25:11Speaker 6: I saw Kevin Johnson talking about Charles not having a
- 25:14Speaker 6: ring and people saying things to him about it. What
- 25:17Speaker 6: I really hate is I feel like I played my
- 25:21Speaker 6: worst game that night of all season. I feel like
- 25:25Speaker 6: that was my personal worst game. So I was pissed
- 25:28Speaker 6: at myself. I wasn't even really even tripping on the
- 25:33Speaker 6: timeout situation. I clearly I was so mad at myself
- 25:38Speaker 6: about how I personally played, and so I didn't really digest,
- 25:45Speaker 6: you know, the gravity of people feeling like that.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Cost us the game. I felt like I cost us
- 25:51Speaker 4: the game in my hit.
- 25:54Speaker 6: And so as it took place and we were leaving
- 25:58Speaker 6: and the media stuff happened, what ever, And obviously I
- 26:01Speaker 6: saw how the media was responding to it.
- 26:03Speaker 4: I always appreciated see Well's.
- 26:05Speaker 6: Family and his parents. You know, they were there for us,
- 26:08Speaker 6: they were there for him. We was obviously there for
- 26:11Speaker 6: each other. And the funny thing is, truthfully, and I
- 26:14Speaker 6: don't know, you remember the Sea Well is when you
- 26:17Speaker 6: say rock Stars, Chuck, we lost the game. But when
- 26:21Speaker 6: we was walking to the club afterwards. Everybody else is waiting.
- 26:24Speaker 4: In line, you know, we walked right in.
- 26:27Speaker 3: So I want to ask you about Ray and Jimmy
- 26:32Speaker 3: because obviously you.
- 26:36Speaker 2: And Chris and Juwan had amazing NBA careers and those
- 26:41Speaker 2: guys were kind of in and out. How did y'all
- 26:46Speaker 2: handle because it had to be traumatic for them. How
- 26:51Speaker 2: did you guys do the best as a friend in
- 26:56Speaker 2: that situation For those two guys.
- 26:58Speaker 6: Coincidentally, Chuck and thank you for asking about them.
- 27:01Speaker 4: We love them as well. Both of them were literally
- 27:04Speaker 4: at my house three days ago in Detroit.
- 27:08Speaker 6: And the thing that I appreciate about both of them
- 27:14Speaker 6: is they have a chance to be upset or bitter
- 27:18Speaker 6: about the journey, and they're not, because I might be
- 27:22Speaker 6: if I was one of them. And what I mean is,
- 27:25Speaker 6: if you look at the nil situation right now, they'll
- 27:29Speaker 6: be millionaires, be on playing in the league or whatever.
- 27:33Speaker 6: And they sacrificed a lot. Both of them could have
- 27:36Speaker 6: went to other schools and been the guy and made
- 27:39Speaker 6: the league or whatever. But what a lot of people
- 27:42Speaker 6: don't remember also is we were disliked and there were
- 27:47Speaker 6: a lot of people that were trying to do what
- 27:48Speaker 6: they could to keep them us out of the league.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Think about it, See where.
- 27:53Speaker 6: Got traded after his rookie year, Like there are.
- 27:56Speaker 4: A lot of.
- 28:02Speaker 5: Nice contractoie ye right, my baby signed a fifteen year deal.
- 28:10Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. You can't do that no more.
- 28:12Speaker 5: I always, I always thank Shack because I was the
- 28:15Speaker 5: first rookie of the year to be able to opt
- 28:18Speaker 5: out his contract and keep up with the man that
- 28:20Speaker 5: was next. And there was nobody at that time better
- 28:22Speaker 5: than to be after than the big fellas.
- 28:25Speaker 3: So but yeah, I was. I wasn't traded. I just
- 28:27Speaker 3: put that in.
- 28:28Speaker 6: Yes, indeed, but but but but but they sacrificed everything.
- 28:33Speaker 6: They sacrificed their stats, they sacrificed their opportunities, they sacrificed
- 28:36Speaker 6: their careers.
- 28:38Speaker 4: For the Fab five name, team and brand.
- 28:41Speaker 6: And I'm forever grateful to them, because, as I mentioned,
- 28:45Speaker 6: if I was Ray Jackson and I never got a
- 28:48Speaker 6: chance to play in the league, I'll be pissed off,
- 28:50Speaker 6: you know, I would probably be bitter about the journey.
- 28:53Speaker 6: And so for him to be able to be as
- 28:55Speaker 6: mature as he is and be the leader and the
- 28:58Speaker 6: man and the father, and the same with Jimmy and
- 29:01Speaker 6: the professional that they are. You know, I just love
- 29:03Speaker 6: it to mar both of those guys.
- 29:05Speaker 2: You know, you introduced me to Jimmy in San Francisco
- 29:10Speaker 2: a couple of years ago, and I was like, Yo, man,
- 29:14Speaker 2: I just want to thank you. And I've only said
- 29:17Speaker 2: that twice because when I would go. I saw Sidney
- 29:21Speaker 2: Moncrief at the Hall of Fame a couple of years
- 29:26Speaker 2: ago and he had the three Months the two musket
- 29:29Speaker 2: Three Musketeers with him, and I said, Yo, man, this
- 29:34Speaker 2: is like a religious experience for me because Sidney Mountcreef
- 29:37Speaker 2: won the greatest dudes I've ever met, and I remember
- 29:42Speaker 2: them three dudes on the cover Sports Illustrated, the Three
- 29:45Speaker 2: Musketeers from Arkansas, and I felt the same way when
- 29:48Speaker 2: I met the I don't think i've ever met Ray,
- 29:51Speaker 2: but we were working the game in the finals, me
- 29:54Speaker 2: and Jalen. He bought Jimmy over and it was pretty cool.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I said, Yo, man, this is pretty cool for me
- 29:59Speaker 2: to meet you. I just wanted that was so much
- 30:02Speaker 2: fun and special because the one thing about sports, it's snapshots,
- 30:09Speaker 2: like oh I remember Birds, Celtics, I remember Magic Lakers,
- 30:16Speaker 2: I remember Michael's Bulls, Popovich Spurs. Like there's been a
- 30:21Speaker 2: million players, but there's certain people who like, oh I
- 30:27Speaker 2: got a chance to watch oh Greg poppling the Spurs.
- 30:29Speaker 2: That's a big deal. Michael Magic, Larry. I'm trying to
- 30:34Speaker 2: think not that the war Steph's Warriors. You know, I
- 30:39Speaker 2: might even throw Lebron's because he Lebron won the different places,
- 30:45Speaker 2: but obviously he won there. But like the Fab five there, man,
- 30:50Speaker 2: this is like this is their time of the year.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I mean, it is so cool. And I got to
- 30:55Speaker 2: work and I get to work with these two dudes,
- 30:58Speaker 2: and you always hope and Jayleen, I want you to
- 31:02Speaker 2: touch on your school because man, that's pretty incredible because
- 31:08Speaker 2: we all we all try to figure out what's next.
- 31:13Speaker 3: One is over and it's hard. Man, it's hard. You know.
- 31:19Speaker 2: I see players all the time, and I said, man,
- 31:21Speaker 2: if you got any bad habits, it's gonna end badly
- 31:26Speaker 2: because I'm not calling anybody dumb, because I know by
- 31:30Speaker 2: the time the Internet get it, they gonna say I'm
- 31:32Speaker 2: calling people dumb, like none of us are educated because
- 31:37Speaker 2: we went to school for a couple of years, then
- 31:40Speaker 2: you go in the NBA for double digit years. Then
- 31:43Speaker 2: it's over, and you're like, I call it being an alien.
- 31:46Speaker 2: They're like, what do I do now? And I'm proud
- 31:49Speaker 2: of both of you guys have kept it going. But Jayla,
- 31:52Speaker 2: give me a quick little cliff notes on your school.
- 31:55Speaker 6: Thank you, and I appreciate that and we admire you
- 32:00Speaker 6: any jan We know we stand on the shoulders of giants.
- 32:02Speaker 6: And as I mentioned to you the last time I
- 32:04Speaker 6: saw you, we wore your shoes when we saw you
- 32:07Speaker 6: do an interview and know who we were like when
- 32:10Speaker 6: you played against see Webb in the playoffs, that was monumental.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't know they was gonna make a damn
- 32:15Speaker 2: commercial about reduct though.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Man, we didn't know.
- 32:23Speaker 4: I mean, that was monumental. Did chuck the simple and
- 32:27Speaker 4: playing give me the lane?
- 32:29Speaker 6: I thought, down your throat like Barkley, like Barley class.
- 32:34Speaker 4: That's classic and so.
- 32:38Speaker 6: Like that time until now, I never thought I'd be
- 32:40Speaker 6: the founder of a school with sixteen years and we're
- 32:44Speaker 6: an open enrollment public school in Detroit that's graduated one
- 32:47Speaker 6: thousand students. We currently have four hundred students in the
- 32:51Speaker 6: building and we uniquely, you know, provide you know, CTE
- 32:56Speaker 6: certificate training along We're trying to get our young people
- 32:59Speaker 6: to play unless they wear uniforms, they submit their cell phones.
- 33:03Speaker 6: We have rotating teachers with our deaths in the class
- 33:06Speaker 6: that has improved teaching and learning.
- 33:08Speaker 4: And I'm really just proud.
- 33:10Speaker 6: We have an amazing school leader in Jasmine Allen and
- 33:13Speaker 6: the work that's being done from the community to our
- 33:16Speaker 6: founding team, to our board members. You know, I'm just
- 33:19Speaker 6: really proud of all of the work that's being done.
- 33:21Speaker 6: And when you guys come to Detroit, whether it's for
- 33:24Speaker 6: the conference finals or the NBA Finals, I would love
- 33:27Speaker 6: to give you guys a tour of the school and
- 33:29Speaker 6: meet the students.
- 33:30Speaker 1: We will be there, Jalen, I appreciate the offer.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Let me ask you this one question about your school.
- 33:37Speaker 2: So I've been doing some homework on different things, right, Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 2: I have, because that's part of my that's part of
- 33:44Speaker 2: the money that I give these different schools.
- 33:46Speaker 3: So I've always.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Stressed education, education, education, especially the young black kid.
- 33:52Speaker 3: That's one of the reason I made the road Model commercial.
- 33:55Speaker 3: But they're telling me.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Their concerns some but the teachers are concerned because of AI.
- 34:04Speaker 2: They're trying to push young black kids to be like carpenters, electricians,
- 34:10Speaker 2: and plumbers because education will not be irrelevant, but it
- 34:17Speaker 2: won't be as important as it used to be because
- 34:20Speaker 2: of AI.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Have y'all discussed that at your.
- 34:23Speaker 4: School, absolutely, And it's almost like.
- 34:28Speaker 6: The biggest trick that the devil played is that God
- 34:30Speaker 6: didn't exist.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Like that's just not accurate.
- 34:35Speaker 6: One of the things about AI, it's a tool, and
- 34:39Speaker 6: it's obviously something that young people are able to capitalize
- 34:43Speaker 6: on and take advantage of it in a lot of
- 34:44Speaker 6: different ways and Claude and all of that. But the
- 34:48Speaker 6: other thing is, I tell young people, I want to
- 34:50Speaker 6: introduce you to a word called hustle, where.
- 34:53Speaker 4: There's more than one way to make money.
- 34:56Speaker 6: And so, just like Charles, you were a student athlete
- 35:00Speaker 6: and also have a trade, but be a student, you
- 35:04Speaker 6: could also still go to a two year, four year
- 35:08Speaker 6: trade school, military, cosmetology, wherever you decide to do, and
- 35:12Speaker 6: still be educated. And so when you go to a
- 35:15Speaker 6: classroom right now and you ask your people, hey, what
- 35:18Speaker 6: do you want to be when you grow up, You're
- 35:19Speaker 6: gonna get the same four answers. You're gonna get social
- 35:22Speaker 6: media influencer, athlete, entertainer, actor, rapper like Rent and repeat
- 35:28Speaker 6: those are gonna be there, and I'll say, yeah, you
- 35:31Speaker 6: can be all of that, right, but what we're gonna
- 35:34Speaker 6: do until that happens. And so it's very important for
- 35:37Speaker 6: young people to attain skills along the way. How many
- 35:40Speaker 6: jobs did you guys have growing up? Just think about that.
- 35:44Speaker 6: How many jobs did all of you guys have growing up?
- 35:46Speaker 6: See whereb I know you had one hundred and fifty jobs,
- 35:49Speaker 6: Charles and Ernie, because that's how we were raised. Yep,
- 35:52Speaker 6: to have multiple things until your goals happen.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Yep, super Rex drug store security guard at the US Open.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I know I'm gonna regret saying this. I had a
- 36:07Speaker 2: job as a pipe beater, and I know.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Please what the heck is that?
- 36:12Speaker 3: Please say that again.
- 36:13Speaker 2: For people in the bag see wherever I go.
- 36:18Speaker 3: I had a job as a pipe beater.
- 36:22Speaker 2: And it was the worst job I've ever had as
- 36:24Speaker 2: a pipe beater. A pipe beater is they get these
- 36:28Speaker 2: big long pipes. Pipes, Well, they're kind of like the
- 36:33Speaker 2: big wrong that they're like this wide around and they
- 36:38Speaker 2: they're like twenty thirty feet fifty feet long and they
- 36:42Speaker 2: have about this much tar on them. So you have
- 36:47Speaker 2: to recycle them but you have to beat the tar
- 36:51Speaker 2: off the pipes.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I wonder where that. I wonder where that phrase came from.
- 36:55Speaker 3: The worst job in the history of civilization.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Shout out to my boy, Shout out to Mike Deeson,
- 37:01Speaker 2: who gave me that job.
- 37:04Speaker 3: And when Mike used to beat the pipes.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Together, Yes they did. Hey, Mike Deson, I look my day.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Hey Jay, let me tell you something. After about three
- 37:14Speaker 2: or four hours, you have this big sledge hammer. Sledge hammer,
- 37:22Speaker 2: you just beat the pipe for hours. I was like,
- 37:26Speaker 2: this is the stupidest.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Would you have that job a week?
- 37:31Speaker 3: I quit after a week.
- 37:32Speaker 1: That's that's a pretty good place to end this thing.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Jesus, let me show you, let me tell you, Let
- 37:39Speaker 3: me show you my kids real quick. If that's okay, okay,
- 37:42Speaker 3: give me back because the last time I had him with.
- 37:49Speaker 5: He's the guy up there with the wrestling pants and
- 37:51Speaker 5: the picture that I shows on with the wrestling pants, and.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Then I told you, my father, thank god, them kids
- 37:56Speaker 3: look like their mama. Yeah, hey look at.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Now that is a Now that is a great well.
- 38:03Speaker 3: And I just asked him, I said, how whold lot
- 38:05Speaker 3: of twins? Now? He said nine, that's unbelievable.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Chris, Webber, Ja and Rose. Thank you guys, Thanks for
- 38:11Speaker 1: your honesty, thanks for your friendship, Thanks for giving us

- 38:17Speaker 1: trip for us.
- 38:18Speaker 3: I love you, love you. We love you guys.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Man love you too. Thank you, guys.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Stay away from the Marathona Wildcat boy. That's true, that's true.
