- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: time for the 49ers rush podcast.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: And here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: What is going on, faithful, it is absolutely incredible to be with everybody.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's the 49ers of 3 and 0.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: We just keep rolling through the season.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: Are you in midseason form yet?
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: And where are you at on the whole just man?
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: The day to day you've been doing this a minute, 49ers got back to incredible.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's got to go subscribe if you haven't yet.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: But, and like, dude, are we in season mode?
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like, do you feel it?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I feel like we're in midseason mode at this point.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think everything's rolling along 49ers are playing extremely well fans are on point two.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the fans are coming with great questions, great energy it's a good time to be a 49er fan.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I think we're we're in midseason form.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm enjoying it.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's there.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: I know once the travel, I know I did that Australia trip.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: We've got the Australia or the Seattle trip coming up here in two weeks.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's when it's like real.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: Once we start, you know, hanging out and doing all the giveaways and fan interactions and all that stuff.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: But the 49ers have taken care of business.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: And on today's coach approach, we're going to look back a little bit.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: Things we liked that we saw against the Cardinals in week three, looking forward.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: What are the coach approaches that we're want to see off its defensively against the Broncos?
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: This is a premium matchup.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: And what the Broncos beating the Rams just this last week is it's safe to say that the Broncos are the best team.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: The 49ers will have played so far this year or is that sliding the Rams a little too much.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think it is sliding the Rams a little bit.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think that when you look at that game in that matchup, uh, the Rams really let that one get away.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they were, um, a better football team for most of that game.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that Denver made some plays down the stretch.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: You got to give him credit for what they did.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that you look at Denver and they're actually not playing as good as they did last year.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Denver was a lot better last year, maybe they're rounding into four, maybe some of that Davis web figuring out the offense, but it's not just the offense, the defense as well.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I think of this team.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: from Denver's one of the better teams in the league.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: I really do believe that.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a test for the 49ers, but I don't know like it's that much bigger tests than the Rams.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think divisional rival, knowing McVey and all the things that are going on there, I still think that this is a really big one.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: And we always circle this one in Seattle as two big games that were coming up in the first five weeks, but I'm not sure that they're a better team than the Rams.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think they just played better down the stretch and won that game.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like that.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I think the Rams will go further.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_02]: I keep wanting to buy into this.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'd know they're wanted to and I know they're finally dealing with injuries.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: McVay cannot overcome injuries.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's only had to do with it once and his career needed to make the playoffs.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: Had a couple injuries to start the year.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's wanted to.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: he's not the shit in him in masking all those injuries.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: And so we'll see how that kind of goes.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_02]: And it will see how that plays out.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_02]: Kimbro coming in with the super chat.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: My man, he says the two best does Brandon Cook's making impact shout out to Kimbro, not for being awesome all the time, which he is.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: But for spelling, Brandon Cook's correctly, something that I never do.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm always like, I look him up on like, you know, pro football reference.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, dude, where is he?
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: There's no Brandon Cook.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so right here, let's jump into it, you only get two elevations a week.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Carol Hodge is dealing with an issue and so my Kevin's dealing with an issue.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: You had John Litz on K and B R this morning say, quote, Mike, it talked about my Kevin's quote.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: He is old school in his mindset and doesn't want to miss.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: Mike will make every attempt and we'll see where that goes in quote.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about the wide receiver room and getting the numbers.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think Brandon cooks is elevated or on the 53 to play this week?
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think he's going to play this week.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they always intended to have him up as soon as possible, and the defensive line problems definitely impacted his availability for last week.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they want him in this week.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think they need him in this week.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so I expect Brandon cooks to be helping this football team.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think there's question marks about Mike Evans and whether he's going to actually go on Sunday or not.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's an old school guy.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's going to want to play and there's going to be
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: all the talk about, you know, paying tolerance and all that, but the 49ers, even when they look at the season, you want to win every single game, they look at every game like a one game season, but the Seattle game is way more important to the 49ers than the Denver Broncos game.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: And having Mike Evans for that is more important in my opinion.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that they're going to be cautious with Mike Evans and make sure that he is healthy moving forward.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think we'll see Brandon Cooks.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: And even if Mike Evans is playing, I still think we'll see Brandon Cooks because he's going to help this football team out a lot and they desperately need more help at wide receiver.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, cooks can play all three spots.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's done it for over a decade.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: He understands what's going on out there.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: And so like, man, is this a week that you get six wide receivers?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: Because Hodge is a little bit of a question mark.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: Jordan Walkets can only play limited snaps because he's such a detriment in the run game.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like, there's a lot of asterisks to these players.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: You got Debo played 40 plus snaps last week.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: No catches.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's a rough-wide receiver room, man.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's not at its premium.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's current situation.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how that goes.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: Look at this.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: Kimbro be in a man in the people.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: He switches channels.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: It does the double super chat.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: He says right here to aunt.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks again, Kimbro.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: Ants.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: Can you give me a breakdown of what you expect from Matthew.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: Judean.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would like to say thanks, Kimbro.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Kimbro is really one of the best there is.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's for sure.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: So thanks for the super chat.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: I would say this about Matthew Judon.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what to expect from him right now.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: What I do know is this is a guy that will come in and he fits the scheme, right?
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's already played and we're here more to scheme, he had success within the scheme with five and a half stacks in Atlanta.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: But I think this is a guy that can come in and do the job right away.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's an easy transition for this 49er team.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I think what you look at it, they have kind of went to, hey, let's get some more defensive ends.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get some guys that can they can move into for eye that can play inside.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that when you need to, when you do that with guys like Keon Wyatt and guys like Collie Perim, you need to add more help on the outside.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: So Matthew, Jude on makes sense playing that outside lineback or roll.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think he'll set a good edge.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think he'll bring them some opportunities rushing the passer.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have huge expectations for him, but I think in the interim of he can kind of withstand and play pretty well until they get some of these guys back that they really need to get back.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think he could be a good addition to this team.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm expecting some help he's going to have little tricks to the trade to what he can do and they'll probably generate some pressure, but I'm not I'm not going to go out there and say I think this guy's going to do too much, but I did like the signing because I think that there's a need for a veteran presence out on the outside he's done it within a three four system for a while.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I wouldn't be surprised, you know, villain me, Fayoko Jr., he got to play some last week.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: And like, did okay, I wouldn't be shocked if they released him, promote Matthew Jude on to the 53th and bring back Fayoko Jr. on the practice squad to help with those numbers.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: Cause you only get to elevate two players.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: And you're still going to need help at defense attack will definitely have to elevate one of smash of helldes or Kevin Gibbons, I think they both played really well last week, but with Romellal height back at practice, now you can kick key on white inside if he plays.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's another injured guy like this is just it's a weekly man.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_02]: The 49ers only get to promote two guys from the practice squad.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: That's turning out to be a huge hindrance because just the injuries, the plethora
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: at stack positions.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: How many defensive ends are injured?
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: How many defensive tackles?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: How many wide receivers?
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: And so that you have these three positions that just make it so difficult to figure out like, man, who you're going after, who you're not whatever.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's frustrating to say the least, but you do expect you to on to play this week.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't say I expect him to play.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think this one could play out a little bit.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think they might wait a week to get him.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's all about evaluation.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing with Brandon Cox.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: It was about evaluation, seeing where he was physically and individual drills.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then just getting a custom to the system and how Chris Cacerec wants him to play.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't say this is for sure this week.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think next week seems more likely.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: But it's interesting because they could have Michele Williams next week as well.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: So they could be getting a real influx of talent
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, I'm not a fool all in on Jude on being in this week.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think if in a perfect world they could play him, I just don't know where he's that physically and how he's ready to roll when it comes to playing within the system.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: Man, could you imagine getting back some, I mean, theoretically, you could get back Samo, Christian Kirk, Austin Pleasants, all next week, like theoretically, it probably not gonna be that way, but, ah, it like that would just be such a breath of fresh air at two major need positions with Samo, Michele Williams, Christian, like,
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's a lot, and so you talk about that Seattle game being week five instead of week four, kind of did the 49ers a little bit of a solid.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows it's going to be injured every single time.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: It will see what that looks like.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: Now, a couple other just real quick updates.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: Brock Party was just named NFC off its a player the month.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: What does that mean to the locker room, seeing one of your guys get such an honor?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: Because again, there's one off its a player at a 16 teams that gets this recognition.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: Brock Perti was him, what are your thoughts?
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that there's, you know, validation, you know, for them a lot of them because they've been sitting back and watching Brock pretty knock it is due, but they know that one of their players is playing extremely well.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's really important, you know, for the 49ers to see is that their guys are getting rewarded and Brock pretty is not just a team captain, but a guy that's been playing.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: you know, it is extremely well for this team.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's a motivation for the offense.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think for the defense, you know, they look at and say, hey, the offense is doing a good job.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's always a nice and morale boost and I think they realize how good this football team and how special it could be.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: So they're continuing to rally behind Brock Perty and I love it.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: No matter what, even if he's getting these awards, he still feels like an underdog and like he has a chip on his shoulder just because of the national media stance.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Some of them are coming around.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: but Brock pretty's got it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to prove it and I think they all know the ultimate validation is not these awards during the season but the Super Bowl and if they can get that then it'll, you know, validate all of their careers, you know, Fred Warner, George Kittle, you know, those guys go from, hey, are they Hall of Famers to absolute Hall of Famers just with one Super Bowl win?
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that they're all motivated on that.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think Brock Pertis in the same category.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, all pros, super bulls, and be in the best at your position for which all pros kind of go along that like that's what you have to have it if there's any issues you don't get in you saw what's where Hello, it's I mean he's one of the most decorated wide receivers in the history of the sport, but because he was so problematic that was enough for him not to get it salt with Frank Gore like
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: Dude had the longevity, didn't have a Super Bowl, didn't have an all pro, didn't get in first on Patrick Willis, had all the all pros.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: no Super Bowl got to wait.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to be able to check all the boxes in the Hall of Fame moniker to get in first ballot.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: And if there's any deviation of rings, all pros, longevity, it just doesn't happen.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I love that you brought that up.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, you talk about Trent Williams, talk about Mike Evans, you talk about Fred Warner, like Christian
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, got to get that ring got to get that ring got to get that ring.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: Kim Pro says no on Austin Pleasants, we need the IR spots.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: I agree completely, but you had to pre designate to IR to return spots.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: That was Christian Kirk and Austin Pleasants.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: So that spot has already been used.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a very bad choice, milk was a bad choice.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, at some point, you're going to need offensive line help probably.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where Pleasant fits in because I'm not playing him ahead of a dairy and low.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not playing him ahead of Carver Willis.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: So you're a full injury away before you could even use Austin Pleasant.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: It was a really, really, really bad choice.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: I am with you there.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, look at my man, JP.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: I love this.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: He says I start coaching by soccer team future this week.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: He says on the team.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: JP, appreciate what you do for those kiddos.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: You are one of one my friend.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you, buddy.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: McCill Williams fully expecting back next week, right?
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like, there's no question here.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's practicing.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's looked great on the side field for a month.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: He was so disappointed whenever he got kept on pup because he thought he was going to
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think so too.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they were really looking forward to having Michele Williams back and I think he got really close, you know, he was posting on social media like I'm back like he really thought he was going to make it in time.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they did a solid from Michele Williams by making him wait and now it's really played out well.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, here they are three and no.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: and he hasn't played and now he got an extra opportunity to get more healthy and more back together.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: He looks really good.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the small little amount of practice tape we saw from yesterday, he looks explosive.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's moving around while he kept a lot of his weight, which is really good.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they're excited to have him back in.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: the fold and I do expect him to play Vr Seattle.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: And like you said, Christian Kirk, I think there's a really good chance Christian Kirk is ready to go as well, which might be why they brought back the catman.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: If they're going to have to make some roster moves when it comes to wide receiver, you might need a backup punt return or just in case something happens at some point.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: So it's it was interesting seeing Dante Pettis come back.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: I was so shocked when I got the
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: What are we even talking about right now?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know, man.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out super treatments.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: You guys are the best.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now, it's a fuller.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, dude.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: Hold the spit.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, what do you mean?
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: You don't recall, uh, I love it.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: Joe, he says, fellas just started it.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: What's y'all's take on the trade for Chase?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: I assume you're talking Chase young.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: I got a lot of these emails in whatever.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: Look, I like Chase Young and that dude's ball and out.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: I, the thing, they're coming off a huge, the Saints, I think are competitive because that division is just whew, horse manure.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I don't think the Saints are ready to be in cell mode, but if I look at this from a Niners contingency, okay?
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: You're expecting Nick Bosa back who didn't go on IR.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: Key on why it's been incredible.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're expected to kill Williams back next week.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: Ramelo Hyde is back this week.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's your four.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: Khalid Karim and Oboa Kuroko have not been bad by any stretch.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: You just brought in Matthew Jude on.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: Chase Young is better than a lot of those names.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: There's no doubt about that.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: And like I would love that.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I think they kind of want to wait and see what they have in this defensive in-room if they ever get healthy, which you have to put like an asterisk to that.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: Chase Young is awesome.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's been with the Niners before, and he was awesome.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: You went to the Super Bowl, the year you had him.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: You could definitely use Chase Young.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure now is the time to overpay.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: And then you would have to overpay.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: That dude's playing well.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's got to cost a second plus probably to get chase.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: What would you put the value on trading for chase young and should the Niners be entertaining that right now?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they should be entertaining edge rusher in general right now.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think that if you look at this team, you've got to wait and see what happens with Michele Williams and with Keon White and how you want to play because if the four years are going to keep going to a more odd front, those two guys are perfect to move inside and play that four eye technique, then that's when you got Ogbo Ocarwanko and Nick Bosa and those guys that can play on the outside.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: So you can kind of flip this thing a little bit where you don't need as many defensive tackles.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: Then you have OSA diggy zoo and grace and hold in those guys that can line up over the center or still play four eye and you can kind of move these guys around.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: So the ability to have more defensive ends, especially guys like McCell Williams and Keon White, that played four eye in college and then Keon White for the New England Patriots.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of affords you the opportunity to kind of change things up a little bit.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I think defensive tackle would still be something I would look at more at the trade deadline.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: then defensive end.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: I love Chase Young.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: I thought Chase Young was fun for the 49ers.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: I wish that he could have helped the 49ers get over the top And he's playing really well right now.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I would not send a second round pick to the Northern Saints for Chase Young I just wouldn't do it.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: If you told me it was a mid-round pick, I might consider it
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to let this thing play out to you.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: They're playing really, really well.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: They're still getting pressure on the quarterback.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's wait.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what happens.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: McCell Williams is really good for this 49ers football team last year rushing from the inside and Keyon White has been really good.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to see what happens with those guys.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: And like the day, I just pulled up Chase Young's contract.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: He's under contract for this year.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: Next year, I think that's a positive.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: He does have three void years, which is, again, can you get the Saints to swallow a lot of that, you know, cap penalty, whatever.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: If you get them to swallow almost any of it, then it's like, okay, this makes sense financially.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: And again, you heard John Lynch say last year.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're not really looking at one year rentals.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: We're looking for one to two year players.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: So that does help there.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: Um, that does help there.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: Big red says, who should I start evidence on fantasy depends on who you got behind them.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_02]: I would lean no because even if evidence is out there.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_02]: There's a good chance Patrick's or tans going to be following him around, which uh, you don't want that guy as your shadow.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm leaning no because of the health.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like every single time he does play against a touchdown, but, um, yeah, it depends on who else you got out there.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about last week.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go back to the Cardinals game.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about the 49ers offensive approach.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_02]: Things that you saw that were just like, man, I really enjoy what they're doing from a schematic coaching X's and O stand point.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: 49ers offense versus the Cardinals.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love the run game.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I really like what Kyle's training was doing.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: He was using personnel, but he was using big bodies.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: But he was finding opportunities to create more gaps.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and that's one of the things that actually LaFlor was doing as well.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: Is there are both trying to create more gaps on one side of the field that the defenders were going to have to fill?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so he would do it was real subtle like, oh, we're going to move Luke Farrell to the other side of the formation.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, how you check's going to go and motion and he's going to set up and oh, then we're going to do this.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: It was it was really nice to see them do that and they're generating some good angles and opportunities for the offensive line to block, but also making things easier for Luke Farrell and how you check.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: and George Kittle and those guys who have to go block second level or even at the point of attack.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I like what Kyle Shadeh is doing with the run game.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like it's different every single week, a little bit different, schematically.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: That is keeping defenses off balance.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he's doing a really good job with that.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: I like the mixture.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they've done a good job at the run game and I think it's been evident with the fact Christian McAfrey's running for five yards per attempt.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's really good to see him explosive again.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I like what he was doing with that.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm an old school guy when it comes to running downhill and doing that sort of thing.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I like the big bodies, the extra gaps in finding opportunities to run against these opposing defense and then did it really well against the
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was the giant scheme.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sitting up in the giants.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's, they are heckling like, and I love it, dude.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: Because we've got a big group with us.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: And they're like, oh, it's Christian McAfrey now at, you know, over three yards per carry.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: Because man, it was so bad where you look at last year.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: These are the yards per rush attempt.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_02]: Christian McAfrey had to start the year last year.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: 3.1, 4.2, 3.1, 2.9, 2.6, 3.2, 3.1, 2.5, 2.7, 3.3, like he didn't hit decent numbers until you're talking weak 11.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_02]: This is a different Christian McCaffrey.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's a different group up front, Connor Colby has helped a lot.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: The tight-ends, having George Kittle blocking has helped a lot.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: Having the wide receivers out there doing their job, even Debo Samuel sometimes, that is huge.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_02]: So the run games become effective.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: When you have that, shanahan and everything just kind of opens up.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I got questions about why is Christian McAfrey lining up five yards behind the wide receiver split out wide?
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: What does that do?
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: Why is Kyle keep doing that?
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: So again, just think about, you know, you have Mike Evans split out wide by the numbers.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: Christian McAfrey motions out there, but his five yards off the ball.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: One,
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: You still have to, you have to just quick screen type run game that you can do out there, but watch the linebackers.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: The play sidebacker has to widen because of the gravity of Christian McCaffrey.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still in this phrase from Ant, he is a smart man.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: He has said it in this show in the past, and I am copywriting it, so everybody give me credit for that in the future, but the gravity of CFC, it pulls everything out.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's where you get the George Kittle wide open in the middle of the field.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's where those endbreakers just get more space.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's where Brock Party can step up in the pocket and escape running.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's all there and even to the play side, were Christian McCaffrey split out to the offensive right in this example.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: Mike Evans run in a curl route to the inside right in front of Christian McCaffrey.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like it has just created another wrinkle.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: That is the Kyle Shanahan advantage wrinkles based on alignment motions.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Just changing one to two things in the splits creating space before the balls even snapped.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then using that that leverage that is created there for your players advantage.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: But it's just a couple extra yards for George Kiddle to work on the inside, couple extra yards for Mike Evans on the inside, little bit and also the offensive line gets an easier blitz read your numbers are easier because now you have to account for inside backers in the tackle box.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: If that inside back or flares out outside of the defensive end in a 5, 7, or 9 technique, you're not accounting for that guy in your numbers, you're 0, 1, 2, 3 that you count right and left.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: So now you're even limiting the number of blitzers that are coming, so it simplifies things for the offense as well.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: And what have I missed?
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to pick up off my Gravity CMC comment, please expand.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think about seeing that so much weeks one, two and three of CMC being five yards off the ball lined up out wide?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's all about movement.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's one of the things that the couch in the hand does really well is he moves defenders horizontally.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: They late motions shifts.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to see how these guys move.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: And if you can get somebody to move off their spot a yard or two wide now, all of a sudden, guess what, their drop in zone is a little bit different.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: The read for Brock Perne is a little bit different.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now he can tell, oh, it's a zone.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's man coverage.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of things that it tips and gives tells a pre-snap as well.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: So, Kyle Shrennan is one of the best to do this.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: He did this a lot for Jimmy Garoppolo over the years.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: What's open up things horizontally.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: They just never had the vertical game because Jimmy wasn't a guy that could throw it vertically down the field consistently.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: Brock Perty can.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: And they've got the weapons, too.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Evans is a threat.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: You talk about the gravity of Christian McAfrey and you can see it in the game.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's times two guys are hanging out around McAfrey and there's nobody around other guys are getting open and I think that that's one thing that this offense is going to continue to excel at is they're going to move Christian McAfrey all over the place.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be a focus on him and when you don't focus on him he's going to kill you because Christian McAfrey is a matchup problem for every single linebacker in the NFL.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care who they are.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: We go into every single game.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want to get Christian McCaffrey locked up on that guy one on one.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: So that is in the minds of every defensive coordinator.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: So they're paying attention to 23 and that's making it easier for everyone else.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: And that's also part of the reason K-Lon Black can't get on the field as much.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Not so much for the running reason, but the fact that there's a gravity situation.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: with Christian McCaffrey.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: Week one, Carnell Lake gets the interception because Kailon Black's running the route that Christian McCaffrey would have normally ran and Carnell Lake sagged back on George Kittle.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: This Christian McCaffrey jumps it.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's a completion of George Kittle.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: That is just the effect that McCaffrey has and nobody uses players better than Kyle Shanahan when it comes to the gravity and they got so many guys that can do it.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: I love it and I love your explanation of what they're doing with McCaffrey.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: It was on point.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, nice.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: I got a gold star, guys.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_02]: I get a gold, I'll take it all, I'll freak it out.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I think that this place into the fact that Caitlin Black, Snap Count has not been what it was after week one.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: It has gone down and backed back to back weeks.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: How much of that was the injury, the growing issue he was going through, don't know.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: But CMC was back to Lee DNFL and touches CMC and week three.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see what that looks like in week four.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: Now, before we jump to the Broncos, the Denver Broncos, let's get to something on the opposite side, the 49ers defense, something that you saw exes in those scheme-wise that you liked versus the Cardinals in week three.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: it had to be the use of Fred Warner.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, uh, the way that he Morris was moving Fred Warner around, you know, putting him at the line of skirmish, you know, kind of giving those those looks.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, it was, it was super fun to see him coming after the quarterback, which I thought he did a really good job rushing the passer, uh, but it was also him coming and dropping and creating opportunity for a key on white to get a free hit on Jacobi Bersett.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's, it's, it's, where he Morris continuing, uh, the keep teams off balance
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: Fred Warner is one of the biggest longest linebackers that there is at the Mike linebacker position and his ability to get up there and cause problems for opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks, it was evident.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so I love where he more is doing that.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: And where he more says he's taken chances.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's throwing a lot of things out there seeing what works, you know, checking out seeing what doesn't work, trying to see how much he can get out of each player.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought the use of Fred Warner in this game was very important.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: I also think that part of the reason
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: because they trust a tray to be able to handle the running backs out of the flat or even tray McBride at times.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: They were able to say, you know what?
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Fred, you can go do all these things.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Manors couldn't have done that last year.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: D winters, they would have had some problems getting beating coverage, but drag green lawn, Fred warner.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I say they go together like peanut butter and jelly.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's too good.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: They work off each other, they play well and he more is using them extremely well right now.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: To be able to have Drake Greenland just say, hey, Drake Greenland, you got Tramick Bride, you've got Jeremiah love.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: We're not going to buttress support.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: You just do your thing.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: And for him to be so spot on like all freaking game, like you had the cardinals scheming open what they thought was an advantage.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: 101 Jeremiah love in the open field against Drake Greenland.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's not an advantage for y'all.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: Carries at top three pick.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: Drake Greenland's just that damn good in open
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: You hear the Cowboys fans and their D winners criticism.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't take long.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I hate I want D to have success because I like D, but watching the will linebacker play last year and watching Drake Greenlaw through three weeks this year.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: Holy shit, man.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry for the language.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: It is not the same that they're just.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's not the same.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's completely different.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Dale coming in with the super chat.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: Way to go, Dale.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: Black is to get this now because he isn't a receiving threat, John.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: Both swing passes.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: He got smoked.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: CMC doesn't.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: My theory can can to pass whenever he's out there.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah, there's no doubt that that was the legit criticism.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Indiana didn't throw him the ball either.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: Got some past attempts, you know, add James Madison.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's why I always, I really like Jordan James because I feel like he does bring the open field threat.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, dude, Jordan James is healthy.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's active.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like use him.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: Um, like he can play and you can put him out there.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: I want Kailin black getting more snaps.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: I want Kailin black getting more carries.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: I understand there is not another CMC.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: But you do have short and changed.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: You do have to ebosamio.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: Do you do have guys that can do things out of the back field?
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think that Caitlin Black is like horrible out of the back field.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's got to be a little bit.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to change the play call.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that is a big reason why he's not getting those snaps.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: I agree there.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: Um, now I will say this.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a new updated flyer that I do want to let everybody know.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: If you are coming next week, we are now shoot about 10 days away from the 49ers up in Seattle.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: Going to be the most important game of the year.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: I had that the number one game of the year when the schedule came out.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to come party with us and not only us, we're

- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's got to be an absolute blast.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: If you can't go, let somebody know that is going.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: 49ers rushrochip.com.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: And we've got everything up on all five of our trips.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Mexico City, Los Angeles.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to have Navarro Bowman and Dallas.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: We've been working the phones.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: We've been working off-screen.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, do you remember Ricky Waters?
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't you remember.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's like my Chris Farley, S&L skit.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: Like, remember that one time?
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: That was awesome.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: That was awesome.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, I loved Ricky Waters.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: He was just the dude rag, him and bar none.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: That backfield was fun, man.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, especially, I mean, that's it, right?
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like, them dancing, like, you know, Brent Jones, you know, they have some of those, they talk about those 94 teams and he talks about how they needed that energy and they needed that intensity coming from those young players and Ricky Waters was so dynamic in the open field catching the football.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you just go back to that Super Bowl and he catches that ball right up the seam and takes it to the house, you know, breaking tackles.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: That is kind of the staple of what you see with like Christian McAfrey and those kind of guys now,
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Ricky Waters and you'll Roger Craig and those guys were just ahead of their time But yeah, he was special because he was also a big physical runner as well He ran hard.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: He was intense.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's that's a good one.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: He him and Varanan that was so much fun Yeah, I wasn't big fan of William Floyd as well.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: And that guy could run physical as well He was he was tough good good group good group.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the old school pose.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: I missed that pose
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: The Omega me and I wore Jersey number 40 because of what you employed and then they put me on the line and they're like, you can't wear this jersey.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, what do you mean?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wear this jersey.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: This is my jersey.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: I wear 40.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: No, you wear 54 now and that's okay.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: 54 is not a bad number either.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be the next retired.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: 49ers number.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: I will stick to that.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: I will stick to that.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get to looking forward.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_02]: Offensively, what do you want to see the 49ers offence do against this Broncos defense, which Patrick Sertant, TJ Jones, Tullinohu Funga, they've got some pretty elite pieces, Nick Benito.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: This is a damn good defense.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: The statistics have it paned out, but they played three elite offenses.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: They played the chiefs, the Jacksonville tag wires, and the Los Angeles Rams now, the 49ers.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: This is what happens when you finish first place in your division.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: They've had a pretty tough schedule, but they won two out of three of those.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: What do you want to see the 49ers off in Stu?
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: run the ball.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's where it has to start is is find ways to run the ball and you know get things get things going downhill.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: When you get this team going downhill and the off into alignment are starting to impose a little bit of will, that's when you're going to have opportunity for Brock Perty.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that there's opportunities against this Denver Broncos team because they do take chances.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: They are super aggressive, but we talked about Christian McCaffrey a little bit earlier.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: We can get him running the ball then when it comes to the passing game,
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: Alex Singleton one on one with Christian McAfrey.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love the 49ers odds right now.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's not doing very good against running backs And I think that there's opportunities for the 49ers to find some situations to get McAfrey the ball and so I think that if they can Estatus a run game early and maybe maybe Denver is going to come out and try to negate that right?
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: We saw that with my Andy Jeff halfway came up and put extra guys in the line and said hey, you're not going to run the ball
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: and then Brock pretty just picked him apart throw in the football.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: So it's kind of a picture poison, but I do think the 49ers need to establish the run game and really get things going on the ground because Denver has him in great stopping the run.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers, if they can get things rolling, they can win the time of possession.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: They can see on the field a little bit longer.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then you're just a couple of stops away from, you know, getting bonus off the field.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: And thanks to remember, 49ers really good on third down to the best offense in the NFL, 63% Denver Broncos not doing so good.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: Giving up conversions at 48% and then in the red zone, the 49ers, the best red zone offense in the NFL, 90% the 9 of 10 in the red zone, that's ridiculous.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, that is one area that Denver Broncos are good, but they're given up a lot of yards, a lot of
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, bend and don't break.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: If they get to the red zone, can the 49's capitalize with touchdowns.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: If they do, they are going to be able to handle Denver in this game.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: If they can't, well, that's when it gets a little bit more interesting.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: Um, shout out to Ben Singh, appreciate the super chat.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: My friend, you are awesome.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't have a comment, uh, just supporting the channel.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: And we appreciate that.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: Just want to give you a shout out.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right here, Hector, didn't for can't stop the run.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's funny because like I make my notes like for what I want to talk about in these situations and aunt, like I ask a, what do you want the offense to he says run the ball?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: Mine is run with everyone for exclamation points.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I want Christian McCaffrey, Caleb Black, Debo, Perti, Shoot, even Jordan James would make me happy.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: The Denver Broncos allow the 30th out of 32 teams.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: They are bottom three in Yars per Russia 10.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: Given up 5.1 yards per carry.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: They are 30th in total rush yards allowed, meaning not only are teams getting 5.1 yards per carry, teams are doing it nonstop.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: run the ball now, Brock parties in his element, where if you do crowd the light of scrimmage and crowd the box, you're going to get a lot of kill kill.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: Can't can can can can he will throw the ball on you all day.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't care if Aunt and John Chapman are out there running routes.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_02]: Brock party will find the open man.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: And so
- 35:54[SPEAKER_02]: You could have the game plan.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go out there and run the ball 35 times.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: The alignment based on the Broncos, the 49ers are now in a position where they could take what is given.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: They do not care if they throw the ball 40 times.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that this is going to be that game.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: But.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: I am curious if the Denver Broncos go out there and just load the box to check us out, check the 49ers out of the run, so that they do throw the ball a lot.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's not what I want to see, it's not what I want to see, but I do think that that is a possibility.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we've got this question here.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to NH9ers here, the man.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: I assume that's New Hampshire.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: He says I'm always late.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: Love the show.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you guys.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: Are you worried about the wide receiver room?
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: Call me crazy, but I think Brock parties play eliminates concern.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny light up Denver.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_02]: He says 36 to 24.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts on the wide receiver room in the effect overall on the 49ers office?
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it can, it can't affect, right?
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: At some point, having injuries at wide receiver can start limiting the effectiveness of the offense.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think we saw it a couple of times last week where Brock pretty just didn't have anyone open.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that hasn't been the case for the most part, but that's what happens when you start getting into your debt.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's why it's important to have guys like Brandon Cooks, you know, that can operate within the offense and he's got enough speed to get a little bit of separation here and there, can stretch things vertically.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: But I think when you when that started happening, you just seen Kyle Shanahan make a concerted effort to go to George Kittle and to go to Christian McCaffrey.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that yes, they can overcome these wide receiver injuries and I think partly because of George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: and depot Samuel I mean depot Samuel though you only had the one impactful play it was extremely impactful and that gets into people's heads hey we got to focus on depot depot has the chance to take it to the house every time so I think at some point it always does catch up with you the good news is it's like one week right Brandon Cooks this week is Mike Evans gonna play if he plays your your talented enough for sure then the next week Christian Kirk's back you still got Brandon Cooks and Mike Evans is more than likely back so
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think this wide receiver room is going to be talented enough and at some point, if they can stay healthy and get everyone back, this wide receiver room is going to be ridiculously good with the Marcus Robinson and everybody that's going to be there, they're going to have to make some roster decision, so I do think they have enough and partly because yeah, Brock pretty is really good and he's going to throw it to everybody, doesn't care anymore.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: I like that.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: Scott, I think I miss your super chat earlier.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: My apologies.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: I am, I'm terrible sometimes, not on purpose.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_02]: Scott, the freaking man says blockbuster edge trades have really bellyflops to talk about micoparsons, miles Garrett, fans who think big trades are a sure thing will later complain about no draft picks.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot make people happy.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like,
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: Man, I used to tell my students about players and my kids all the time.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: Some people just want to be upset, and I know those fans.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: My dad was that fan.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: Got kicked out of shoot.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how many Braves games in my life.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like it do, we would be winning and he would be kicked out.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_02]: We'll blow it in the night.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: He was like, uh, quaded, uh, what's it called, uh, major league?
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, it's too high.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: Too high.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like that's who he was right.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: So like I get there's just going to be those and sadly, they have the loudest voices a lot of times.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I understand the F them picks mentality, but you look at my comparisons, you look at Miles Garrett, you look at AJ Brown, three of the biggest trades of the past two years have not paned out at all.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like you just trade for
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_02]: And let's circle back on this because ant what what are your thoughts on trading these blockbuster deals.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I just haven't done it in a while.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like they do the blockbuster trades kind of closer to free agency in the draft.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: Then they do at the trade deadline.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: Some big trades for sure the Christian McAfrey deal.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously was gigantic manual Sanders.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't call it blockbuster.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think the Niners philosophy are on these blockbuster and season traits?
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think with with the blockbuster trades, I think it's it's usually been more strategic trades for the 49's right bringing in guys that, you know, Charles a minute who guys who are going to be beneficial and and help later key on why the other one of those are more strategic.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that the Christian McAfrey was an attempt for the 49ers to go all in on winning that Super Bowl that season.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they saw how good they were playing.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: They looked at the landscape at the NFL.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, really rock pretty getting hurt really, you know, cause that not to happen, but I think that you don't really make a blockbuster move unless you believe it's going to put you over the top.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: So mid-round pick, you know, like you said, chase young third to fifth-round pick somewhere in there.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think trading for a guy that can help your team.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's that always works, but I think if you're giving like multiple ones are.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: getting one of these guys.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they're going to make the impact that you feel like you need.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: And how many teams are actually one player away?
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the things that, you know, maybe the Rams with Vaughn Miller, that was like a thing.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: They thought there were one player away.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: But even then, they shouldn't have beat Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: DeQuiskey chart dropped the ball.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: I should have ended that season.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not a huge fan of the big blockbuster trade.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this isn't the NBA.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't major league baseball.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's 11 guys on the field and the impact of that is felt more through strategic moves and not so much the big time moves
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Niners will continue to look for value.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think value is such a big deal when you're talking about how much you are up against the cap in the future.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: The Niners on the only team in the NFL that have negative projected cap stated for the next not one, but two years back to back.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: Now, there's going to be some adjustments, there's going to be some cuts, some restructures, that's going to make that work for sure.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think the idea sustained success, and that's what Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch have talked about.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, you want to go all in, but you don't want to sacrifice the future.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: Kyle Shanahan is not leaving anytime soon, just signed his new deal extension.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: We don't even know how long that is for you've got Brock Party for a decade.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is a decade program, and everybody's like, well, yeah, look at the Rams.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: They went all in and they want it.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but yeah, the chart interception, you had the Eagles fumble that it wasn't recovered.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: You had the fansome passing her fans in the Super Bowl on Cooper Cup.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: That was a horse maneuver call.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, everything's got to go your way.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: And they still barely won.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's not like the Rams were guaranteed that Super Bowl because they weren't.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but sometimes that ball is funky and it's got to bounce your way.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: You got to get the calls right.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, you got to get refs calls.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not all in for sacrificing the future and I'm not saying anybody is saying they should do that if the opportunity presents itself and there is a valuable asset out there that you can get at a bargain.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm all for it.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: Now, speak it about bargains.

- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: All right, shout out to Scott back with another super chat.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: He says, Brock just named NFC player the month by the NFL.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: I freaking love it.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's not even Brocktober.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: Now it is Brocktober.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's October 1st now, like, dude, and like, I do want to, I want to part that we talked about this earlier in the show, Scott, but like, October seems to be the worst month for Kyle Shanahan if there is a bad month every single year.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's September and December, he's stellar.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: September December he starts hot and he finishes hot October is always that month.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: This schedule is not easy.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like you've got some rough matchups for sure.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely the back to back weeks with, you know, and the Broncos in the at Seattle.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts on like $40 taking a step back this month?
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Do you expect more of the same despite the schedule?
- 45:31[SPEAKER_02]: Look forward over the next four weeks of this schedule.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts with how the $40 are going to perform?
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're going to perform well and you know, and we've seen couch in a hand definitely have some struggles in October, but we've also seen when he's got a team that's rolling and playing well, they can roll right through it right eight no to start the season in 2019 and I seem they're going to go eight no I'm not, but I do think that there's a an opportunity for them to.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: You have very minimal losses, you know, I think that they could split the next two and really set themselves up over the next, you know, a few weeks, especially the come out, you know, and still be sitting in a good spot in the NFC West and in the NFC because they are right now to me, they look like the best team.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: top to bottom.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think the special teams need to pick it up a little bit for the 49ers.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: They made some mistakes over the last two weeks, but when you look at this team overall, there's a reason they're number one in DVOA.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: They're playing very efficient, effective football, and as long as you can maintain that, it's definitely something that's going to help this team.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I think part of the reason Kyle struggles is he comes out so hot with things that people haven't seen, he's doing some stuff, then they get some tape on him, and they started adjusting their
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: old weather areas and it gets a little bit difficult.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then he sees what they're doing to him and that he counteracts and then after that he's on point.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, once you get three game films on people, it gets a little bit more difficult for offense is to come up with things that they haven't seen before and kind of adjust.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's always a thing.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: But Kyle, I never put anything past him and I really do believe he's evolved.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's a way better coach now than he was in 2017 for sure, but even 2019, this offense is evolved in the way that he uses his players is different.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's special.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: Let me ask you this.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: If you could guarantee the 49ers go one in one over the next two weeks and the winners against Seattle, do you take it?
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yes or no?
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: What if there are one on one?
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: But the loss is too Seattle, would you take it?
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, I'm just going to go and go and two.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would do now.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Can't do it.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: I would do.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, well said, man, you got to win that game.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's the most important game on the schedule at Seattle.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_02]: 49er Skywalker, a couple of it with Super Chat.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, man.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_02]: How do you guys feel about the Cowboys trading for Joey Porter?
- 47:59[SPEAKER_02]: One, I think it's hilarious, he's practicing already that injury just magically healed as soon as he got traded.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's the Joanne Jennings injury and just at my wallet is broken.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: If the Niners beat the Broncos, should they make a move.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I, the Joey Porter thing did nothing for me.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I don't think that he's a top 10 corner in the league.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the, what the Cowboys gave away kind of illustrates that the Cowboys just have really bad corner back play right now.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so they needed an improvement, he needed to get it out, get out of Pittsburgh.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: But to me, this wasn't a big needle mover.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think this was one that made me nervous.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think the 49ers need to make a move anytime soon.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they can let this thing play out.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they have to.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think the teams around the league and John, you said this.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure many times, the teams around league are not...
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: looking to move players right now, even if they're oh and three, they still have a belief that they can get into the playoff.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I think these teams are going to wait.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: The trade deadline when it comes, that's when we'll see what the landscape looks like.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think the 49ers will be in on possible defensive tackles.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think especially if they could flip a six or seven and get somebody that can help their football team.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they'll look at the edge market.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: But ultimately, I think that they're pretty comfortable with who they got because they feel like once they get these guys off the IR, They're getting an influx of all the talent that they needed anyway.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they're just going to be patient.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're 4-0, it's not really screaming.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: I need to make a move.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's screaming.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, let's stay with what we're doing and we'll see what we're doing.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's working.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: The answers are in the building.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: And now the goal is, can you stay healthy?
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: Can you not add to the injury report?
- 49:39[SPEAKER_02]: And can you get some of these guys back?
- 49:41[SPEAKER_02]: Because there is a, there is a, a talent on that IR and not being dressed right now.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_02]: So, there's a lot of things that I look at Steffit.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate Sarah Chen, he says, I would never take it to Winno is what we will do.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's right, could see nothing.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_02]: We give up nothing.
- 49:57[UNKNOWN]: Oh.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's like it's like Gerard Butler the 300 like days.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: Then we shall fight in the shadows like yeah, yeah, I love it.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_02]: You're at it.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'll put a war with you, bro.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: I just I'm trying to highlight
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: the importance of this Seattle game.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_02]: If you win that Seattle game and you go up three nothing in the division and now Seattle has two losses.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_02]: Now the Rams have two losses.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: That is, I mean, it's going to be damn near impossible to lose the division with the two game lead with this roster.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, we got to play the games.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's why we play the game.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it is.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_02]: Scott given us our history lesson.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_02]: I love this.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: He says I'm fired up.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_02]: Remember the history people we hate Sean Payton.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: That is factually correct.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody should hate Sean Payton.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's a terrible person.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: Bounty gate.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: The preseason game where he blissed a hundred times the breeze roughing call.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_02]: He defended In 13 that cost his home field of injury.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: Remember whatever he got hit his neck was like elongated Absolutely love that.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: I hate Sean Peyton always have And there's a reason why there's a long list got reminds us Yeah, I don't know.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_02]: Wait.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have any Sean Peyton hate takes you're the most positive guy.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_02]: No aunt
- 51:15[SPEAKER_01]: to do we have five I'm not a son paid I'm not a son paid in fan I never have been I never will be you know it's crazy because I really like Drew Breeze I thought he was one of the most likely guys but when it comes to the coach on paid I'm not a fan I disliked rooting for them on Sunday night against the Rams like I that just makes me nauseous I do
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not a huge fan of him.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's a good coach, but I don't like his personality.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: The way he comes across, he's very aggressive with media members as well.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of rude to a lot of the media members.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's less snarky than Kyle Kyle kind of finds a nice little way to do it.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: But what Sean paid, he's actually rude.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: He was just straight up, I remember last year about the very green law, where he was like very green law coming back with the downhill linebacker.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, do you even know what downhill is?
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know what downhill is.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, come on, Sean paid and just be cool, man.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: Just be cool.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_02]: That is the most trash talk you will ever get out of ant.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_02]: He is rude, that is all, that is, that's it.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_02]: And spit and fire over here.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_02]: Y'all better watch it right here.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: Dell says, let's go.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_02]: No one's scared of the darkies that they'd been.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_02]: This brought up a sad moment for my childhood.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_02]: Denver is going to the glue factory.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_02]: I was sad.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: I cried.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to lie reading the animal farm.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_02]: When they sent boxer to the glue factory, still hurts.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_02]: I loved to boxer.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_02]: I loved animal farms.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_02]: Still what my favorite novel is.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_02]: And how could they do that?
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: He did everything.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_02]: He did everything.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_02]: All right, one of our last before we get out of here, the 49ers defense, Sean Payton, he already said he's rude.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_02]: That is trash talk 101.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_02]: What do you want the 49ers defense to do to the Broncos offense and Ponyx?
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: uh... pester you know i think that you look at him and he just needs to be they don't even have to actually get full pressure on him they just have to make him feel like he's in under pressure uh... he gets a little bit of radic he'll float the football he'll take some chances he wants to escape the pocket so
- 53:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think simulated pressures and making him think more are coming, and then only sending four, I think it's good enough against Botanics.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, right now he is putting the ball into harm's way, three interceptions so far this season.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just not been his accurate either, 60% completion percentage.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think the 49ers can be aggressive without actually having to be aggressive.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that's one thing that we're he Morris has done really well.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why the Blitz Wright stays down.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: I know that everyone's going to say, look at the numbers of phonics against the blitz this year, and absolutely come after him.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: But if you can get the same result without actually having to blitz, I think that's what you're trying to do.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I think simulated pressures are going to be big.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: Fred Warner will be big again.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: I do think we'll see more blitzes than we saw because I'm going to want to have five band pressure sometimes to keep him in the box.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: and keep him in the pocket because that's what they had to do in week two as well to Malik.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that this is something that they're going to do in this game.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that, yeah, I think less is more sometimes.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what you can do to bonus.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: I like it man.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and make him beat with his arm.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like he wants to run.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: He's an athlete.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_02]: Their wide receivers is a strength of their team in my opinion, but him being able to basically be like Brock Perty.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: That's what that's their weakness is because he's not there.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: So keep him in the pocket.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see a plus integrity rush lanes.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_02]: if he's got to step up, that's one thing, but don't let him flare out to his right, make him go to the left against his throwing arm.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I want to see.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: Scott, thanks for the super chat again.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: Seems Fred is playing to cover for the loss of Bosa, is it sustainable?
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: Sunday was powerhouse effort, but possible to play that many reps every week.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's always played the reps.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_02]: he is doing more because now he's not only blitzed he's blitzing two steps then getting in his drops.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: He is a hybrid player and I think full of that Rahim Morris is trying to see how much he can put on Fred's plate and maybe you'll get to that point and you've either heard Rahim Morris say like sometimes he does a little too much
- 55:18[SPEAKER_02]: But let's figure out where that is in September, October.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: So you know what to do with December, January.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_02]: But like, dude, Fred has passed every single test with flying covers that's ever been thrown towards him.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see, maybe, I mean, he's already redefined the linebacker position already.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_02]: Let's keep seeing if he can do more.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts on Fred?
- 55:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, I don't think we're him Morris plans on putting as much on Fred as he did last week.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to vary, you know, from week to week.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think the 49ers defense wants to be out there 80 plus snaps a game.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_01]: So that needs to change as well, but I think that they're going to Fred still going to get used.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_01]: but they're going to use him uniquely every single week.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be somebody else that's highlighted this week.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: Who's it going to be?
- 56:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's one of the things that I love about where he morphs.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: He never attacks you the same way twice.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of keeps it varying so that way things are tough for opposing offenses to figure out.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: So Fred was a big part of the last week.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's always going to be a big part of it, but you know, it'll be using a different manner.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be straight green law blitzing or it'll be somebody else.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to keep throwing different
- 56:23[SPEAKER_01]: Is it sustainable for 17 games?
- 56:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's in probably not, but here and there in spurts.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Nick Bosa being replaced by guys like Fred Warner and others coming from the secondary.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely something they can do until it gets back.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: Man, I'm pumped about this game, buddy.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_02]: I hate the Denver.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_02]: I've always hated John L. way.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_02]: I've never liked him.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't like the Broncos.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_02]: I've never liked him.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_02]: I just have never liked the Denver Broncos.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_02]: So this game's a big deal.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I was at the pick eight game, which was the worst quarterback game and NFL history, I will argue.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_02]: Russell Wilson, it gets Jimmy G, I think it was like an 11 to 9 game.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_02]: I just hate this team like it matters and go out there and you control this and you get you win this you're up for Oh to start the year Niners just keep answering the call.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_02]: I do not expect it to happen now and before we jump out of here Are there any closing remarks anything in your notes that we didn't get to yet that you want to get to the floor as yours
- 57:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think this is going to be a big week for the 49er special teams.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is brand boy here and this team's got to bounce back.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_01]: Eddie Paniero's got to make his extra point.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_01]: And Seren deals got to play more like Seren Neil, but I think that we've seen this special teams go from six best and week one to 12 best in DVOA for week two and now 21st best.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's a it's a scary trend.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_01]: So they need to turn this thing around.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: They're perfectly capable.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: They got a really good coach and a really good kicker.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: They've made mistakes.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now they've got to overcome that.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm looking for complementary football to return this week with good special teams play.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: And if that happens, I think top the bottom there better team than Denver.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if they play well on all three phases, they can beat the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that would be a big win heading into Seattle as the 49ers would be absolutely rolling.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_01]: You talked about four.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: How about that?
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: What a season start for the 49ers in two big clutch wins over the Los Angeles Rams in Denver Broncos.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_01]: That would be very big for this football team.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_02]: Look at this man, the freakin' stud kid broke up and did.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_02]: He says, can you guys make this just a permanent team up?
- 58:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we do it every Thursday and we're gonna keep doing that.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_02]: Added Wade Breeze, you guys would be the Avengers.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_02]: I struggle with more than two people on a show.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_02]: I struggle with two people on a show.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_02]: Me and Larry have that in common where I just wanna talk and I interrupt people all the time.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's a problem, but yeah, aunt is, yeah.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_02]: I can't speak highly enough of Anne.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_02]: He's incredible.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_02]: And if you don't listen to 49ers cut back, what do you guys do?
- 58:57[SPEAKER_02]: And like you gotta go hit subscribe and once you're there, it's not going to take you long to realize this is something you want to support, then you're going to subscribe to the Patreon and you're going to be happy you did it.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_02]: So patreon.com slash 49ers cut back.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_02]: Go check it out.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_02]: Support good people and support people that put in the work and actually know what they're talking about and don't just throw out, click bait garbage and whatever else.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_02]: And you're the man in the meanest thing that can ever say about anybody is it's kind of rude.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like come in.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of room.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_02]: Sean Payton sucks.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'll stay it.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_02]: He should go to the glue factory.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see what happens this week.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks everybody.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate y'all.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back next Thursday with another coach approach.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_02]: But until then, stay strong faithful.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're out.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_02]: Peace.
