Helping to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.
• 0:15
This is the Constitution Study on the America Out Loud Network with your host, Paul Engel.
• 0:31
I'm tired of people complaining about Congress and their state legislatures.
• 0:36
If you don't like what your employees are doing, hire someone else.
• 0:41
Hello there, everyday Americans, Paul Engel here with the Constitution Study, where we read instead of the Constitution, teach the rising generation freak.
• 0:48
Glad you could join me today.
• 0:50
You know, it's one thing to whine and complain about what your employees are doing.
• 0:54
But if you're not going to do anything about it, then sit down, shut up and let the adults do the work because this is getting crazy.
• 1:02
But you know, of course, the latest example is this uh, you know, the the DHS partial shutdown, which is not really a shutdown.
• 1:11
Um to me, it exposes just how far the federal government has crept into our everyday lives in violation of the constitution and the violation of their oaths, and um we become dependent on them.
• 1:27
And then we're surprised when politicians act like overgrown children.
• 1:32
The latest report is there are more than 550 TSA agents who quit.
• 1:38
  Why?
• 1:39
Well, because they got tired of working without getting paid.
• 1:42
Why are they not getting paid?
• 1:44
Because you have politicians playing party politics with uh the Department of Homeland Security, claiming it's about uh immigration customers.
• 1:54
Of course, they don't actually pass a law, they don't propose a law.
• 1:58
Hey, let's propose a law about making these changes to ICE enforcement policies.
• 2:02
No, no, no, we're gonna hold hostage a one of the the departments of the United States so that we can get our we can get our way.
• 2:11
And now 450 families have been going without paychecks, and um, well, not only have they quit to go find other work where they're actually getting paid, but guess what?
• 2:24
Weight lines at major airports are growing like crazy.
• 2:28
Something like 40% of uh of agents in Houston and and 37% in Atlanta said we're calling in sick because we have to go find a job.
• 2:38
We have to get a paycheck.
• 2:40
And if you're not gonna pay us, sure, you'll pay us eventually.
• 2:43
But you consider the number of families that live paycheck to paycheck in this country, the number of families that can't come up with a thousand dollars in an emergency.
• 2:52
They can't go weeks and weeks without paychecks while politicians play their stupid games.
• 3:00
And uh again, a lot of stupid games, a lot of crazy stupid games.
• 3:04
And you know, sometimes Senator Kennedy just has this way of calling out the stupid that is just so hardwarming and depressing at exactly the same time.
• 3:19
Senator Schatz told me we had a conversation last night, said he was going to object.
• 3:23
  I respect that.
• 3:24
And if he has left the building, uh, I don't want to go behind his back.
• 3:29
I mean, I could I could move to reconsider and blind sighting, but I don't want to do that.
• 3:33
So why can't I make my move to reconsider subject to us waiting for Brian to get back?
• 3:39
So he has a full opportunity to be heard.
• 3:41
  Can I do that?
• 3:43
  There's no such motion.
• 3:45
  Sure, there is.
• 3:45
  I just made it.
• 3:46
Are you saying that the motion's out of order?
• 3:49
Look, this is a serious matter.
• 3:51
  It would take unanimous consent.
• 3:52
  This is a serious matter.
• 3:56
Now we've established that this resolution doesn't affect the House.
• 4:00
It just says to the senators, while we're in a shutdown, no senator is going to be paid.
• 4:05
  You don't lose your money.
• 4:07
You pick it up after it's over, after the shutdown's lifted.
• 4:11
This went through the rules committee unanimously.
• 4:13
Yeah, I'm mentioning it went through unanimously.
• 4:15
Every single and every single Republican said, yes, Kennedy, let's do this.
• 4:20
And if a member of this body disagrees with what I'm doing, then by God, they ought to come down here and stand up in front of the United States Senate and stand up in front of the American people and stand up in front of God and stand up in front of country and stand up in front of all these people, these good people that aren't being paid and say, here's what.
• 4:38
  I mean, I I just I love it.
• 4:41
  Here's a proposal.
• 4:43
All right, we've got TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard.
• 4:46
  They are not getting paid.
• 4:48
So why are our employees in Congress getting paid?
• 4:51
  Simple proposal.
• 4:53
Every, you know, the not the House, just the Senate.
• 4:56
We're not going to get our paychecks until we do our job and get this funded.
• 5:01
And uh, you know, you'll get your money eventually, just like you're asking everyone else to do.
• 5:08
And one senator's response was I reject and ran from the room.
• 5:14
Tell me that's not the a child throwing a temper tantrum in a cereal aisle at the grocery store.
• 5:22
  And Mr.
• 5:22
  Kennedy, he wasn't done yet.
• 5:26
Uh this time though, he's on Fox News.
• 5:30
  He's lying.
• 5:32
  He's lying like fish swim.
• 5:35
  Now, the he, Mr.
• 5:37
Senator Kennedy's talking about is uh Chuck Schumer.
• 5:40
And yeah, he does lie like fish when uh, you know, and and uh he talks about he goes in and he makes the point.
• 5:46
He says, you know, we've been we've had DHSH shut down for 38 days, and um, you know, other than at one point, apparently they they voted to fund DHS, but then they backtrack.
• 5:57
Then he points about the Save Act.
• 5:59
They've been doing it for 10 days and they're stuck, they're not moving.
• 6:02
Now, understand, part of the thing is the Senate is designed to be slow.
• 6:07
It's designed to have time for debate.
• 6:10
Um, but let's face it, politicians can turn debate into obstruction uh about as fast as, well, as fast as you and I can talk and pretty much as easily as a fish can swim.
• 6:22
So we look at this, and and the the the TSA people quitting.
• 6:28
Uh and um what other departments are are are having the same problem, these delays at airports.
• 6:35
Um, you know, FEMA couldn't care less.
• 6:37
Um, they don't leave their unconstitutional begin with.
• 6:40
Um, Coast Guard, though, hey, if they're not getting paid, we're asking men and women to be prepared to fight for this country, but no, we're not gonna pay you because we're having a petty partisan squabble.
• 6:51
Um, yeah, I think it's about time that all the politicians be taken out to the woodshed.
• 6:56
The Republican, Democrat, independent, you name it.
• 6:59
They need to be taken out behind the woodshed and be taught you have a job to do.
• 7:03
And if you don't do it, well, you're fired.
• 7:06
Now, after the the 1913 and the 17th Amendment, we have to wait for an election to actually fire them.
• 7:12
  Back before 1913, when U.S.
• 7:14
senators were appointed by the state legislators, they could recall them.
• 7:19
I want you to think about this.
• 7:21
You talk about these shenanigans, the state legislator could have could recall senators that are acting like petulant children.
• 7:30
Wouldn't you like to see that again?
• 7:33
Now, listen, love Kennedy, hate Kennedy.
• 7:35
Uh, you know, here's a man that well, he has a way of putting things.
• 7:40
  And yeah, it's very simple.
• 7:41
If you aren't going to pay federal workers, you don't get paid.
• 7:45
It went through the rules committee unanimously.
• 7:48
And right now, because it's it requires uh or he called for unanimous consent, so it doesn't have to go through debate and the filibuster nonsense and all that.
• 7:58
One senator, one senator has held held this whole thing up.
• 8:03
Again, the Senate's designed to slow things down.
• 8:06
  That's its main purpose.
• 8:08
But here you are not doing your job, asking people to work without pay, and you won't do the same.
• 8:15
Every American should look at their senator and say, what the heck you doing?
• 8:22
In fact, we should look at your member of the House of Representatives.
• 8:24
What the heck are you doing?
• 8:27
It's time that we treated them as these.
• 8:30
It's like, you know, okay, go into McDonald's and you hire a guy to run the French the friar, but he won't make French fries.
• 8:37
And he makes up all sorts of excuses about why I won't make french fries.
• 8:40
  Well, you know what?
• 8:41
He gets fired, and you hire somebody that'll actually make French fries.
• 8:45
If you want the Congress to do its job, you have to hire people that'll actually do their job.
• 8:53
They may be responsible for their actions, but we the people are responsible for putting them there.
• 9:00
  We hold that responsibility.
• 9:02
That is the cost of sovereignty of the people being sovereign.
• 9:07
  We hire representatives.
• 9:08
And when we hire bad representatives, it is up to us to fix the problem.
• 9:14
  How?
• 9:15
  By hiring better representatives.
• 9:18
  But Paul, uh, you know, I I I don't have a choice.
• 9:22
  Yes, you do.
• 9:23
Do you realize that you don't have to vote for the people on the ballots?
• 9:28
I know this may shock you, but you go into the ballot box, you can vote for whoever you want.
• 9:34
It should be a real person, right?
• 9:36
Don't go in voting for Mickey Mouse or Thor.
• 9:39
You know, you should vote for a real person.
• 9:42
But yeah, you can vote for whomever you want.
• 9:45
This attempt by the the political parties to limit your choices to through uh um uh uh primaries and stuff like that.
• 9:53
  You don't have to follow.
• 9:54
  You don't have to.
• 9:56
  Vote for whoever you want.
• 9:59
  And uh
• 10:00
  Be real, be real blunt.
• 10:02
  You know what?
• 10:02
If you're going to act like a petulant child, I'm not going to give you a job with such responsibility.
• 10:08
  Go away.
• 10:10
It's a it it's amazing how that changes a conversation.
• 10:15
We're in election season here in my county.
• 10:17
And I talk to my I'm talking to uh potential county commissioners.
• 10:21
And I say the same thing, right?
• 10:23
You know, when did you fulfill your oath?
• 10:25
Because if you're going to be an idiot in there, I'm going to call you out.
• 10:29
I'm going to be public about it.
• 10:31
And I'm going to make sure that I vote for someone else next time.
• 10:34
And I'm going to convince as many people as I can to join me by showing them if you're if you're corrupt or just childish, I will show them.
• 10:42
On the other hand, if you do a really good job, if you stand up for your oath, I'll make that a point too.
• 10:50
We need to treat these like employees.
• 10:53
And a bunch of them really need to be treated like the petulant children they've been acting like.
• 10:58
It's about time, like I said, we metaphorically take them out to the woodshed.
• 11:01
I'd like to really take them out to the woodshed, but I don't think people would put up with that.
• 11:05
But metaphorically, yeah, out to the woodshed.
• 11:08
Um, you're not getting another dime in support.
• 11:10
I'm not putting your signs in my thing.
• 11:12
I'm putting the opponent's sign in my in my yard simply because you are such a child.
• 11:18
You shouldn't be allowed in Congress.
• 11:21
You know, I'd love to have a way to actually control, make sure that people who enter Congress have a concept of their their duties and their constitutional roles.
• 11:29
But then again, we live in a free country.
• 11:31
We have the right to vote idiots in to represent us, and then we suffer the consequences.
• 11:37
  So uh, yeah.
• 11:38
You look at Schumer and you think he's lying like a fish swims.
• 11:42
Well, that's the fault of the people of New York City, New York State.
• 11:45
  They chose him.
• 11:46
You're one of your senators, not the one willing to go without a paycheck while they deny paychecks to other government employees.
• 11:52
  You voted for him.
• 11:54
You're standing online at the security checkpoint at an airport.
• 11:59
Remember, you and your fellow citizens voted for the idiots that have made this mess.
• 12:05
Again, not for legal reasons, but for political reasons.
• 12:09
  This is a political showdown.
• 12:11
Ice is merely a convenient target.
• 12:15
And remember, the people that are fighting to stop ice from doing their job are also fighting to allow illegal aliens to not only enter this country, but to remain in this country.
• 12:26
  Yeah.
• 12:27
And if that's who you voted for, that's your way.
• 12:29
That's part of the freedom, all right?
• 12:32
  Is you know liberty.
• 12:33
You get to people get to vote for really stupid people.
• 12:35
They the people, they may have ideas that are really stupid, but they get support for them.
• 12:41
  And that's where we sit.
• 12:44
  But we suffer the consequences.
• 12:46
And if you're not happy with Congress, hire somebody else.
• 12:50
I know it may it sound difficult.
• 12:52
  It's really not that hard.
• 12:53
All you gotta do is go to the voting booth and pick somebody else.
• 12:57
And you know what amazingly happens?
• 12:59
When you have people, see, we've taught politicians that the best way to get elected is to throw money at us.
• 13:06
Campaign money, uh uh bribes from the government, you name it.
• 13:11
That's the easiest way to get voted for.
• 13:13
If we want them to do their job, we have to make doing their job the best way for them to get and keep their job.
• 13:22
You see, we have this responsibility, and we've failed.
• 13:27
We've failed, we've failed to teach the rising generations the responsibility of citizenship.
• 13:32
We've failed to teach them basic civics.
• 13:35
We've failed to teach them their role.
• 13:38
The government is there to serve us to secure our rights, not to demand and rule over us.
• 13:45
  There are servants.
• 13:47
  These are public servants.
• 13:50
Isn't about time we actually treated them that way.
• 13:54
I mean, fairly, they they have rights too, right?
• 13:57
They, but they don't have the right to not do a job and still get paid for it.
• 14:03
And this to me was a perfect example.
• 14:06
And I just love the way uh Senator Kennedy put it.
• 14:10
  You know what?
• 14:11
If you're not going to do the job, you shouldn't get paid out.
• 14:14
You're asking other people to go without pay while you play your petty partisanship games.
• 14:19
How about you not get paid?
• 14:20
And if you can't handle that, how can you stand there in front of the American people and saying these people are not going to get paid because, well, I'm playing these petty partisan games.
• 14:32
  That's a sad thing.
• 14:33
When you when the truth really comes out, people often don't look nearly as good as they thought they did.
• 14:39
And I want to bring that point around, right?
• 14:41
The Declaration of Independence says that governments are created that secure these rights, governments are created amongst men.
• 14:48
They're there to secure our rights.
• 14:49
And that tremendous document with so many great lines.
• 14:53
We hold these truths to be self-evident.
• 14:56
That we pledge to each other, we mutually pledge each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.
• 15:00
That document turns 250 years old this year in just a few months.

  Welcome back, everyday Americans.
• 20:46
  You've rejoined the Constitution.
• 20:48
Say today we're talking about what you get what you vote for.
• 20:52
We talk about members of Congress to talk about our state legislators, our county legislators, our city counties.
• 20:58
We get what we vote for.
• 20:59
  They are our fault.
• 21:01
Maybe not individually, maybe individually vote for them, but as collectively, we voted for them and you get what you vote for.
• 21:08
So if there's a problem, we need to fix it by picking better people.
• 21:12
  Now, sometimes things work out.
• 21:16
  What do I mean?
• 21:17
You know, sometimes uh, you know, things come out better than we thought.
• 21:21
For example, who here remembers under the Biden administration when they were caught trying to turn Facebook, YouTube, X into their own private speech police, right?
• 21:31
They had what the Department of Misinformation.
• 21:34
Uh they'd go out and say, Well, this is not true.
• 21:36
We decided this is not true, and they tried to get people shut up about it.
• 21:40
Well, apparently, Missouri, or more actually, the attorney general of Missouri sued the Biden administration for colluding with the big tech to silence Missouri families.
• 21:54
Um everything from you know, COVID, the border, the 2020 elections, 100 bytes laptop, they sued.
• 22:02
And they've come up with a consent decree.
• 22:04
Now, again, I'm not an attorney, I don't play one on TV, but as I understand, a consent decree means the defendant basically agrees to certain conditions to stop the platform to stop the litigation, right?
• 22:18
It's not an admission of guilt, but it's kind of here's what we're gonna do so that we can just put this aside.
• 22:24
And um, this consent decree apparently it's kind of interesting.
• 22:28
Uh, I guess it's a 10-year uh consent decree, and it binds the Surgeon General, the CDC, and CISA, the influence and security agency, from threats of legal, regulatory or economic punishment to any of these uh social media platforms for um content that was put on their platforms.
• 22:51
Now, there's no more, no more coercion, no more unilateral direction, no more vetoes of platforms, no more suppression of comp no more deplatforming by algorithm or by person, protected speech, protected actually publishing.
• 23:09
Uh, but the idea is in many cases it should probably YouTube, right?
• 23:12
Videos, those are those are speech, but that's the point.
• 23:16
The the federal government has consented to the state of Missouri that, okay, we're not going to do this.
• 23:23
And while not a direct admission of wrong, it does kind of say, yeah, yeah, we were we were wrong to do this.
• 23:29
And um again, this is for this is for 10 years, which gives not only other states the opportunity to join in, but to also pass laws prohibiting the federal government from doing such things within their borders.
• 23:43
  Why?
• 23:44
Because the Constitution doesn't delegate to the United States the authority to suppress speech.
• 23:50
In fact, it's actually prohibited by the First Amendment.
• 23:54
It's one of the few scenarios where the First Amendment actually applies.
• 23:57
But it's helpful if states come in and say, No, you can't do this.
• 24:01
I don't care what the federal government can say, I don't care what Congress is, I don't care what the president says, they are not supreme.
• 24:07
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land.
• 24:10
Only laws made pursuant of the constitution are also supreme.
• 24:14
And since the president's power is not to make up laws but to enforce them, he can't do he or she, one day she can't do anything that violates the constitution without punishment.
• 24:26
  Pushback.
• 24:27
See, this is what happens, at least in Missouri, when they hired an attorney general that actually understood the Constitution and was willing to go through the effort to get it right.
• 24:40
That to me is the important part.
• 24:41
All right, the people of Missouri hired an attorney general.
• 24:45
They voted for their attorney general, they hired him, and he stood up.
• 24:48
And now, at least in Missouri, they don't have to worry about a new federal uh department of misinformation, at least when it comes to trying to manipulate them, the social media for their citizens.
• 25:02
But I go back to the point of it's important that we recognize that when we hire somebody, they work for us.
• 25:08
When we vote for somebody, we're hiring employees.
• 25:11
  And take Eric Swalwell, right?
• 25:13
He was a member of Congress in California for uh uh a bunch of years, like 10 years, I think, maybe more.
• 25:20
And um, uh, you know, again, he's been caught with some really crazy things out there.
• 25:26
And now he's running for governor of California.
• 25:29
He's asking the people of California to hire him.
• 25:32
Now, part of his platform is to uh he's vowed to stop massive utility price hikes.
• 25:41
Now, I find this interesting a couple things.
• 25:44
One is I'm not familiar with the Constitution of California.
• 25:46
I don't know if the governor actually has the authority to regulate utility prices.
• 25:52
The legislature may, but does the governor not sure?
• 25:56
Because I'm not here's what I do know.
• 25:59
Um he's already cashed in 113,000 in donations from Pacific Gas and Electric, the very utility he claims to crack down on.
• 26:09
So at the very least, that sounds like a conflict of interest.
• 26:12
And of course, he's a politician, so we know he's lying because his lips are moving.
• 26:17
And I just have a question for the people of California.
• 26:20
Are you going to listen to what he says?
• 26:22
You're gonna look at what he's done and decide, you know what?
• 26:25
Yeah, you can you can take uh six figures uh from a uh a pack to to promote a uh your platform that you say you're going to to stop these these price hikes.
• 26:36
Um, sure, that all makes sense.
• 26:38
None, nothing, nothing wrong there, nothing to see here, no problems with that, really.
• 26:43
If you're a citizen of California, do you actually believe that?
• 26:49
Or what about uh Pennsylvania, a one of the state's largest employers, uh Sacks and Company recently announced they're shutting down their fulfillment center in in uh Penn Foster, Pennsylvania, laying off 435 employees, and um, I'm assuming moving that work somewhere else.
• 27:10
This is after they the SACs had a layoff in their uh Sinwood and and Wilkes Bear uh uh facilities, laying off another 200.
• 27:19
  Why is that happening?
• 27:22
Why are so many people leaving Pennsylvania for Florida, the Carolinas, and Texas?
• 27:28
Is it just because of the warmer weather?
• 27:30
I mean, I've been in Pennsylvania, it does get cold in the winter.
• 27:33
  Is that really why?
• 27:35
Well, recent polling says that uh 55% of Pennsylvanians are leaving, they're trying to find a lower cost of living.
• 27:44
In other words, it's too expensive.
• 27:46
  I understand that.
• 27:47
I used to live in New York State, very expensive place to live.
• 27:50
It's part of the reason why I left.
• 27:52
It was kind of a um sauce for the goose.
• 27:54
It was frosting on the cake.
• 27:56
It wasn't the main reason, but it was certainly one of the reasons.
• 27:59
And it's really interesting because you look at Pennsylvania, look at a map, right?
• 28:03
They they they've got everything they need to attract business.
• 28:06
They do have a skilled workforce, they have abundant natural resources, they have proximity to huge markets, but they're shedding people.
• 28:16
Could it be that uh, well, uh, the the uh American Legislative Exchange Council ranks Pennsylvania 36th in its economic outlook and 44th in epic economic performance, or that the tax foundation rates the commonwealth is 36th nationally for tax competitiveness?
• 28:35
Uh by the way, that's two spots lower than the previous year.
• 28:39
Could it be that the Pennsylvania legislature and their governor?
• 28:45
The work that they're doing is making Pennsylvania a place where people want to flee rather than where they want to go.
• 28:52
Now, in general, because I moved to Middle Tennessee a little more than a decade ago.
• 28:56
And uh our biggest problem is where are we going to put all the people that keep coming to the state?
• 29:02
You go to Nashville, and there are cranes everywhere.
• 29:05
They're trying to build as fast as they can because of the number of people that are coming and then having our place to house them.
• 29:12
I live well outside of Nashville, even here.
• 29:15
People are looking to buy up land and put in developments because they're people who want homes because they're coming here frequently, leaving New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California.
• 29:27
  Yeah, I'm from New York.
• 29:28
I have friends that were from New Jersey.
• 29:30
They we both moved down here to get away from that problem.
• 29:33
And again, if you live in those states, you hire the very people that created much of this mess.
• 29:42
Listen to the words here of New York governor Cathy Hochel, admitting that a law they passed with their green agenda has been destructive to New York families and the New York economy.
• 29:54
I believe that the goals of this law to build a clean energy future and strengthen our energy system for years.
• 30:00
To come is a noble one.
• 30:01
  I'm committed to it.
• 30:03
But I also have to take responsibility and responsibility to protect people from rising costs.
• 30:09
If the path forward is only going to drive prices higher, then we have to act.
• 30:14
Okay, yes, if the path we're on is making life worse, then well, we have to act.
• 30:18
  We have to do something.
• 30:19
  But what's Governor Hochel's plan?
• 30:22
And that's why I'm calling on the legislature to work with me in the next few weeks before the budget is due to come up with a common sense plan that it understands the realities that we're dealing with today.
• 30:34
  Okay, warning.
• 30:35
Whenever you hear common sense, it's kind of like bipartisan, hold on to your wallets.
• 30:40
  They're coming for you.
• 30:42
  But she's not done.
• 30:43
This is not the world of 2019 as much as we wish it were when this law was first passed.
• 30:48
We will not walk away from our climate goals.
• 30:50
But make sure that the path we're on is realistic and fair to the people we serve.
• 30:55
Because a climate policy that leaves working families behind is not a sustainable path forward.
• 31:00
Do you love what you hear what you said here?
• 31:02
We're gonna keep those plans, those goals we had, but if it leaves uh working families behind, it's not sustainable.
• 31:09
  You're right.
• 31:10
The climate agenda, the green agenda, this is not sustainable.
• 31:13
And the funny part is we were telling her that back in 2019.
• 31:17
  This is not news.
• 31:19
This is just simply finally hit her hard enough that um she's finally having to deal with this.
• 31:27
So what do we see, right?
• 31:28
We're seeing states are just as involved.
• 31:30
We have to be responsible for our states and the people we hire there.
• 31:35
You got Missouri that has a that hired a pretty sounds like a pretty good attorney general that fought for their freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
• 31:44
Meanwhile, you have California that has hired a representative that is basically you know anything to get Trump and now wants to run for governor, taking money from the very people he says he wants to regulate and keep the the uh um their rates down.
• 32:02
  Anybody believe that?
• 32:05
  Or, you know, Pennsylvania.
• 32:09
You got people that you're driving your your policies, your public pilots.
• 32:12
The people you hire are putting in place laws and policies that are driving people out of your state, out of the commonwealth.
• 32:19
Are you gonna do it again?
• 32:21
Or are you gonna try and find somebody that's learned their lesson?
• 32:24
Now, you may think Kathy Hogel's another lesson.
• 32:27
I look at what people do more than what they say, so I'm not so sure.
• 32:32
But at least she said, hey, those policies you put in place, they're not sustainable.
• 32:37
They do not work as much as we wish they would.
• 32:41
As much as they wish we were back in 2019 when we could get this nonsense passed.
• 32:45
Well, that's not the word she used, that's the words I use, but that's what she's saying.
• 32:49
In 2019, we could pass this nonsense and people would swallow it.
• 32:53
Now they see what it costs, and they're not ready for it.
• 32:57
Will you hire better people to represent you in the empire state?
• 33:01
See, in other words, your people were getting what we voted for.
• 33:05
And if we don't like it, it's up to us to change it.
• 33:09
It's it's if people want to wash themselves the responsibility of their actions, no.
• 33:15
People of Pennsylvania, people in Missouri, people in New York, you hired these people.
• 33:19
If you like the outcome, well, then you have to deal with the consequences.
• 33:24
If you don't like the outcome, well, the consequence you have to deal with the consequences until you can hire somebody else.
• 33:31
But you have to hire somebody else.
• 33:33
  Not you alone.
• 33:35
It's not just that you go in and vote.
• 33:38
What are you doing to show other people the problems here?
• 33:42
What are you doing to convince other people there's a better way to get since other people that the ability to live free is worth it?
• 33:51
  See, it's really easy.
• 33:52
Just, you know, every couple of years you show up, you stand in line, you cast your ballot, and you think you're done for the day.
• 33:58
You think you're done for the next two years.
• 34:01
That's not the way a republic works.
• 34:03
They're your representatives, they're your employees.
• 34:06
You have a right to petition them for a reduce of grievance.
• 34:09
You have a right to tell them your opinion.
• 34:11
You have a right, and what I like to do is ask them why they support or don't support us a particular piece of legislation.
• 34:18
  Explain to me why.
• 34:20
Then I'll tell you whether I think you're on the right path or not.
• 34:23
But we see we can't be bothered to do this.
• 34:25
We just sit around and let someone else make these decisions for us and don't hold them accountable when they're doing evil, when their their decisions have bad consequences.
• 34:37
That's to me the biggest problem is American apathy.
• 34:42
We can't be bothered to live as citizens in a free republic.
• 34:47
We'd much rather be slaves to a tyrannical government and pretend that we're free.
• 34:52
Act like we're free, but not live like we're free.
• 34:58
Now, I've got some other stuff to talk about before I got another break coming up.
• 35:02
But as much as I've talked about governments, remember there are organizations.
• 35:05
We talked about the the PAC that gave all that money to Squalwell.
• 35:11
These are different groups and organizations, and you may be supporting them through the companies you do business with.
• 35:17
See, there are several companies I don't do business with anymore.
• 35:20
I don't buy their products, I don't use their services because of the groups they support.
• 35:26
They support groups that are trying to destroy our rights.
• 35:29
Why would I fund those groups through these companies simply because I like their product?
• 35:34
Now, there are companies I do buy from companies that believe what I believe.
• 35:38
And I think you should do so as well.
• 35:41
One of those companies is Patriot Mobile.
• 35:43
Yes, their America is the only Christian conservative wallet's provider, but that's not why I joined them.
• 35:48
Yes, they have great 4G and 5G coverage and all the same networks and towers as a major carriers, but that's not why I joined them.
• 35:56

• 36:02
I joined them because they take a portion of every dollar to support organizations fighting to protect my rights, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press, free to be secure from unreasonable searches and seizures, free to be not deprived of life literary property without due process of law.

• 39:45
And of course, big in the news is the conflict and right.
• 39:48
They called a war, but we haven't declared war.
• 39:51
They declared war on us, but we haven't declared war back.
• 39:54
So it's really just a military action.
• 39:57
Um, or it's a war by any other name.
• 39:59
  Uh
• 40:00
  That's not my point.
• 40:02
A lot of people are blaming Donald Trump for this.
• 40:06
And he does have a lot to do with this.
• 40:08
But this didn't start with Donald Trump.
• 40:10
This didn't even start with Trump's first administration.
• 40:14
Ladies and gentlemen, this started back in 1980.
• 40:19
• 40:23
  I was around for that.
• 40:24
  I remember that.
• 40:26
I remember the when with the Iranian revolution and actually 79, when, and I remember when they took the hostages.
• 40:34
I remember when the Jimmy Carter, this feckless president couldn't do anything about it.
• 40:40
When he finally got around to doing something, it was so convoluted and crazy that uh the military said this is this is nuts.
• 40:47
You don't send helicopters in this type of thing.
• 40:49
Scenario, they're they're too prone to damage, and it failed, and people died.
• 40:53
And then we had, you know, Reagan comes in, of course, as soon as Reagan wins, the Iranians say, no mats, all right, we'll send them back.
• 40:59
  Just leave us alone.
• 41:01
But Reagan didn't do anything about the regime after that.
• 41:05
Neither did Bush, neither did uh uh did uh Clinton, neither did other Bush, neither did Obama, neither did Trump the first time, or Biden.
• 41:16
Now Trump says, listen, we're tired of you threatening us.
• 41:19
We're tired of this, you know, you uh uh you you have been a sponsor of terror throughout the world.
• 41:26
You and your proxies have attacked American citizens abroad, you've threatened us with nuclear with it with the threat of creating nuclear weapons.
• 41:34
You've lied to us, you violated all of the the agreements we had.
• 41:38
  Enough is enough.
• 41:40
And they said, fine, we're gonna take out the top leadership because that's really the problem.
• 41:44
I don't believe the problem is with the the Iranian people, it's with their leadership.
• 41:50
And of course, now the consequence of that of you know it it's it's still going on, and guess what?
• 41:55
The um uh the Iranians use their strategic advantage uh to to threaten the Strait of Hormuz, where most of the world's oil comes through, and that has restricted, you know, people logically listen.
• 42:11
If you walk in down the, if you're driving down the street, on that street you see a sign that says, go down this street, you're gonna get shot at, you're gonna find another way around.
• 42:20
So tanker companies literally say, Yeah, we don't want to do this because we don't want to get shot or blown up or whatever.
• 42:26
And of course, that's raised gas prices, and we're paying it at the tank, right?
• 42:30
Oil prices go up, gas prices go up, we're paying for it at the tank.
• 42:34
And politicians, rather than looking at this and saying, you know what, um, this is a consequence of dealing with a problem we didn't deal with decades ago.
• 42:45
  Right?
• 42:46
Iran didn't suddenly become a terrorist state.
• 42:50
It has been a terrorist state for 46 years.
• 42:56
Now we're trying to well, the consequence is we're gonna have to deal with gas prices for a while.
• 43:01
  We can't do that.
• 43:02
We can't actually have to suffer anything for for doing for fixing a problem that was left to us by previous generations.
• 43:11
  So what happens?
• 43:12
The first thing they say, release oil from the strategic oil reserve, the strategic petroleum reserve, the SPR.
• 43:20
Now remember, Biden did this because his policies raised gas prices.
• 43:25
So rather than realizing this is the strategic petroleum, this is there.
• 43:29
So that if we go to real war, we have fuel for our military.
• 43:36
The SPR is not there to make your gas prices lower.
• 43:40
  They can't.
• 43:41
They don't have enough oil to make the gas prices lower.
• 43:44
Not significantly and not for any length of time.
• 43:48
But presidents, I think all they're going back to Reagan have used this as a as the uh the political petroleum reserve to make themselves look good.
• 43:57
And of course, Biden's drained a significant percentage, I think it was like 40% of the reserve in an attempt to save his presidency and failed.
• 44:06
And of course, to refill it was when gas prices were, or I should say, oil prices were high, so it was not really effective, although they did start refilling it, and now we want to go after it again.
• 44:17
And again, realizing that yes, gas prices are high.
• 44:21
  I see them.
• 44:22
I pay them, I understand it.
• 44:24
I've put some away before the prices went up, so that I have a buffer against those prices.
• 44:32
Not everybody can do that, and they don't have the storage for the fuel they need.
• 44:36
But this is a consequence of not being seeing us or our allies under threat from a nuclear Iran.
• 44:42
Something we that every administration has told us they would do going back to Bush and hasn't.
• 44:51
Oh, they've claimed they have, but they haven't really.
• 44:55
So now we're dealing with this terrorist regime and gas prices are up.
• 44:59
And of course, so the first thing is let's go after the the political patrol.
• 45:03
It's not they call it the strategic patrolling reserve, it's not there for strategic reasons.
• 45:08
It's being used for political reasons because our states hired presidents that are feckless, and when push comes to shove, they're more worried about their image than well, their oath of office.
• 45:20
Meanwhile, in Georgia, the governor has decided to suspend the the state's gas tax for 60 days.
• 45:28
  Why?
• 45:29
Well, gas prices are high, and that makes people feel bad.
• 45:33
Now, I think the the Georgia gas taxes 33 and a third cents a gallon.
• 45:39
Uh uh that's for gasoline, 37.3 for diesel.
• 45:43
And for 60 days, they're suspending it.
• 45:45
Now, here's the thing I'm asking.
• 45:47
If gas prices are too high because of the taxes, isn't the problem the tax?
• 45:55
  I mean, think about it.
• 45:56
I don't know about you, but gas prices where I live have been gone up about uh 70, 80 cents, so they're gonna take 30 cents a gallon off.
• 46:03
Okay, that makes it a little less painful.
• 46:06
But I remember the day when you used to go and pull in the gas station and they had the price of the gas and the price of the state tax and the federal tax and the local tax, so you could see it.
• 46:16
And now in New York State, they actually made it illegal for gas companies to tell you how much you're actually paying in taxes.
• 46:23
And now you have the governor of Georgia who says, you know what we're gonna do?
• 46:27
We're going to uh uh we're gonna suspend the gas taxes so that you don't fill it at the pump.
• 46:34
Well, then are you telling me you didn't need the gas taxes, or you just didn't need them to be that high?
• 46:38
You can survive 60 days without them because you didn't need them that high to actually, oh, I don't know, keep the roads in place, like you keep promising us.
• 46:46
So tell me, which is it?
• 46:47
You need the gas taxes in order to keep the roads, or you don't really need all those gas taxes because you can do without them for 60 days.
• 46:55
Remember, the people of Georgia hired this guy, and if he's playing politics with your infrastructure, because again, you're talking about paving roads, you're also about about inspecting and maintaining bridges.
• 47:06
You've all seen the the stories when a bridge collapses because of a lack of maintenance, and well, it was terrible.
• 47:12
  Why weren't they doing it?
• 47:13
Well, we in this case, you is Georgia going to tell us, well, we stopped collecting gas taxes, so we had to not do all of our inspections and all of our repairs.
• 47:24
Is that really what we are expected to believe?
• 47:27
And it's not just the states, it's not just the president, the EPA, this unconstitutional uh agency.
• 47:34
There's nothing in the constitution that authorized the federal government to regulate the environment.
• 47:40
But they too have come up with a temporary emergency waiver to help deal with the gas prices that are the direct consequence of previous administrations not dealing with a small problem, waiting until it got to be a big problem.
• 47:56
What the EPA said, listen, for the next uh 20 days, a whole 20 days, not even three weeks.
• 48:03
They're going to allow, allow, allow the EP is going to allow the sale of gasoline with higher blends of ethanol.
• 48:12
Well, first of all, the the EPA has no authority to tell me to what I'm allowed and not allowed to do.
• 48:17
  Right?
• 48:18
Unless it involves interstate commerce, the EPA is an agency created by the Congress has no authority over gas prices over gas blends at all.
• 48:29
Second of all, oh, so instead of burning oil, you want us to burn food.
• 48:34
Because in this country, we don't make ethanol from from sugar like some other countries do.
• 48:39
  We make it from horn.
• 48:41
  We make it from food.
• 48:43
Not just, you know, the the masarina we use for our corn tortillas.
• 48:48
It's not the sweet corn you eat at your summer cookouts.
• 48:52
This is the corn that we feed animals, cows, pigs, chickens.
• 48:58
So we're gonna burn our food to deal with a fuel problem that was created by previous administrations, and we just don't want to deal with the pain.
• 49:09
And ladies and gentlemen, remember the EPA, illegal agency created by the people we hire to represent us, continue to be funded to have money embezzled from the American taxpayer to create this agency that tells us how we can live our lives.
• 49:24
You're allowed to put more ethanol in.
• 49:28
  Hell no.
• 49:31
You know, this whole thing, it's a criminal activity, and now they're going to an attempt to save the politicians' bacon, tell us what we're allowed to do.
• 49:40
That's not living free, ladies and gentlemen.
• 49:43
That's enslaved by a government bureaucracy that does not legally exist.
• 49:50
Now, listen, if you're a gas producer and you want to put ethanol in your gas, as long as it's labeled as such, go ahead.
• 49:58
But I'll tell you, in this state,
• 50:00
Where I live, we have pumps of ethanol free gasoline.
• 50:05
And they do a pretty good business.
• 50:09
Especially with older vehicles, classic cars and stuff like that.
• 50:12
  A lot, they use that.
• 50:14
A lot of our modern or maybe a little older farm equipment, they don't like ethanol and their gasoline.
• 50:22
  They don't have it.
• 50:23
Lee Zeldon, the director of the EPA, he's got no legal authority to tell you to do anything.
• 50:29
Because the only thing the Congress can do is regulate interstate commerce.
• 50:33
They have no authority over the EPA, they have no authority over transportation, they have no authority over gasoline.
• 50:38
  Period.
• 50:39
  End of story.
• 50:41
But we let them get away with it because we hire people to do this.
• 50:44
And most of the American people are too ignorant to recognize when the government is infringing on their rights.
• 50:52
Ladies and gentlemen, we get what we vote for.
• 50:56
There's a reason why everybody who asked my vote, the first question I try to ask them is show me when you fulfilled your oath to support the Constitution, when it cost you something, when it was hard, when it was painful.
• 51:08
Don't give me this, well, you know, the Republicans port.
• 51:11
  No, no, no.
• 51:11
Tell me, when did you fulfill that oath?
• 51:15
Because if you can't answer that question, you're not qualified for office.
• 51:19
Now you may tell me, listen, I raised my right hand.
• 51:22
  I took the oath.
• 51:23
  I went into the military.
• 51:24
  I served.
• 51:26
  You get a chance.
• 51:29
You didn't, you know, that you got a chance because you you suffered.
• 51:33
You you you went the let's say in the military, you don't get a lot of pay.
• 51:36
There's a lot of hardship involved, both for you and your family.
• 51:40
  That is a starter.
• 51:41
  I will give a person a chance.
• 51:44
  Anyone else?
• 51:45
No, you have to show me when.
• 51:47
  And here's the interesting thing.
• 51:48
All right, I've been doing this for several years.
• 51:51
I finally had somebody that when I asked them that question, they did not hesitate, they did not stutter, they came right back with an answer.
• 52:00
And it's a pretty good answer.
• 52:03
Tell you how rare people who actually understand their oath and are willing to follow their oath are.
• 52:09
We need to find more of them.
• 52:11
People that are willing to do the hard thing to fulfill their oath to support the Constitution, to do the difficult thing to protect your rights, to secure your rights, to stand up against the tyranny when it's unpopular.
• 52:26
I'm sure it's really popular to say we're going to lower gas prices right now.
• 52:31
But is it popular to say, listen, we need those taxes to maintain the roads?
• 52:36
This is a consequence of this.
• 52:37
And it'll this pain will go away.
• 52:40
  It soon shall pass.
• 52:42
You have to be a little patient.
• 52:43
You have to be an adult.
• 52:45
No, I bet you that's not as popular.
• 52:48
So when are we going to do the hard thing?
• 52:50
When are we the people going to fulfill our duty, our civic duty as citizens of a constitutional republic and do the hard thing?
• 53:01
Find the person that will fulfill their oath.
• 53:04
Find the person that will secure our rights, or at least help us live free.
• 53:09
When as often as I ask people asking for my vote that question, I ask people I speak to.
• 53:36
Well, then you're going to suffer the consequences when you vote for a politician whose lips are moving and they're lying.
• 53:44
And until we start demanding people of better character, not party, not policy, character to represent us, to be our employees and public service.
• 53:56
We're going to continue to get shallow and venal men and women that are more worried about their image than about their oath of office.
• 54:05
More worried about their family than their constituency.
• 54:09
More worried about their position in history than the country.
• 54:15
  They swore to defend.
• 54:18
