- 0:00Speaker 1: I guess this might be a list, is it technically good?
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's kind of an ex polly kind of list, but
- 0:09Speaker 1: it's it's a list. Okay, well it's.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Radio from Hell with another list because people love a
- 0:17Speaker 2: good list x ninety six.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I bet I would ask Katie to make a note
- 0:23Speaker 1: of this and remind us of it for a future
- 0:26Speaker 1: ex pole, because I'll bet there are a lot of
- 0:27Speaker 1: things like this that people could talk about, okay, as
- 0:30Speaker 1: long as they're innocent in nature. Misunderstanding and things we
- 0:33Speaker 1: mishear and then believe for years make life a whole
- 0:38Speaker 1: lot funnier. Take, for instance, my former step brother who
- 0:43Speaker 1: on a road trip heard Lenny Kravitz cover of Guess
- 0:45Speaker 1: Who's of Guess Who's American Woman playing and he bellowed
- 0:51Speaker 1: a married woman stay away from me from the back seat.
- 0:58Speaker 1: That's absolutely not the correctly but honestly a fair reading
- 1:02Speaker 1: with this idea in mine, we recently asked our readers,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I don't know who this is, uh, he asked our
- 1:08Speaker 1: readers some of the things they once believed up until
- 1:10Speaker 1: very recently. So these are things that you learned embarrassingly
- 1:14Speaker 1: late in life. Okay, all right, I mean misheard lyrics.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You could do a whole that still happens to me.
- 1:21Speaker 1: To this day. But one other. Yeah, okay, so somebody,
- 1:25Speaker 1: so somebody says a visual This is a visual artist
- 1:28Speaker 1: and storyteller at Marvel named Dalton Conde. About a year ago,
- 1:35Speaker 1: I stumbled on a post talking about X and quickly
- 1:38Speaker 1: learned X, I c K S I, and quickly learned
- 1:42Speaker 1: that I was doing something many people consider to be
- 1:45Speaker 1: an ick. I now know that the I in salmon
- 1:50Speaker 1: is silent. The excuse me, the l L it's that silent.
- 2:01Speaker 1: So I looked at the I didn't read ahead, and
- 2:03Speaker 1: it looked like an eye and the salmon. Yeah. So
- 2:07Speaker 1: apparently this guy has been saying salmon all of his
- 2:09Speaker 1: life until recently. Carrie ar said, I recently learned that
- 2:14Speaker 1: a pony is not a miniature horse. The difference between well,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's not a big horse either. It's not like a
- 2:26Speaker 1: real horse. A pony is just a young horse. No,
- 2:31Speaker 1: it's not.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I had ponies when I was a kid, and they
- 2:33Speaker 2: were like little pony.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Might have had Shetland pony. All right. See, I'm learning
- 2:40Speaker 1: late in life the difference between cicadas, cicadas and tin
- 2:47Speaker 1: nitis and that other people can't hear tonightis what. I'm
- 2:54Speaker 1: not sure what that means. The difference between cicadas and tonightis,
- 3:00Speaker 1: so did people hear the cicadasn't think that they had
- 3:02Speaker 1: tonightis and the other people can't hear? I don't. I don't.
- 3:06Speaker 2: That's a poorly written My ears are constantly ringing. Does
- 3:09Speaker 2: that mean I have insects in my brain?
- 3:11Speaker 1: No? I mean tonight's let's see that I don't have
- 3:16Speaker 1: to hit shift before and after capitalizing a letter on
- 3:20Speaker 1: the standard keyboard before and after. That's okay. Let's see
- 3:28Speaker 1: that you could save, that you could shave your bikini line,
- 3:33Speaker 1: or that you should shave your bikini line. And this, this,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I know, is a hard lesson for you, Todd, that
- 3:39Speaker 1: you should shave your bikini line in the direction of
- 3:42Speaker 1: hair growth, not against it, because if you don't, it
- 3:47Speaker 1: will avoid you. You will itch like crazy for days afterwards.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Same thing is that?
- 3:51Speaker 2: What's going on over here?
- 3:52Speaker 1: It's the same thing on like your neck? Yeah, like
- 3:55Speaker 1: I've one time shaved the hair on my neck. Yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you got a wrong way. You gotta be care And
- 4:00Speaker 1: it broke out into all those little pimply itchy. It
- 4:03Speaker 1: was awful. Yeah, but I learned that a long long
- 4:07Speaker 1: time ago. Let's see. Mine was that the Beatles is
- 4:13Speaker 1: a pun. They play music, so it's the beat Olds
- 4:20Speaker 1: as a beat. It's not too ease, it's an a. Yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 1: that's why it's spelled that way. Yeah. I had no
- 4:26Speaker 1: idea until one day I saw it and I went, oh, oh, huh.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I did not know that. I did not know that
- 4:35Speaker 2: was oh really the name of the way they named
- 4:37Speaker 2: the band. Yeah, any of the spelling was different, but
- 4:41Speaker 2: never went beyond that.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm learning stuff I never see. I was like thirty
- 4:49Speaker 1: nine when I learned how a euro is pronounced. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: took my team out for dinner at a conference and
- 4:55Speaker 1: everyone was ordering them and I was like, what is
- 4:58Speaker 1: that on the menu? That euro? And they said it's
- 5:02Speaker 1: a year g Oh, oh god. I've always said giro.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Could I get a gyro? Please? The Guinness World Records
- 5:09Speaker 1: are sponsored by Guinness Beer and Dublin. I never knew that.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I guess this person didn't know that. I
- 5:17Speaker 1: read Archie comics growing up, and I thought Reggie was
- 5:21Speaker 1: reggae with an ie at the end. No, And it
- 5:26Speaker 1: wasn't until discussing childhood memories with friends that I was
- 5:28Speaker 1: told at short for Reginald and rhymed with veggie, not
- 5:33Speaker 1: Reggie reggae. I felt stupid. I recently learned that spicy
- 5:40Speaker 1: tuna is not naturally occurring tuna. Well, with all the
- 5:45Speaker 1: pollutants in the ocean, it'll get there. Yeah, have a time.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I just learned that the underwear goes under, not over
- 5:53Speaker 1: the pande host. I thought that's how you hold them up.
- 5:58Speaker 2: How I hold mine up.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yesterday I got a joke about the chicken crossing the road.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Apparently other side means death because it got run over
- 6:06Speaker 1: by a car. I took it literally. I know, I
- 6:09Speaker 1: think you're missing the poor, missing the point of why
- 6:12Speaker 1: did the chicken cross the road to get to the
- 6:15Speaker 1: other side? Does not mean death? No, it just means
- 6:17Speaker 1: that the joke. It's a stupid chicken. Yeah, let's see that.
- 6:22Speaker 1: The pow Mia flag means prisoner of war and missing
- 6:26Speaker 1: in action. I thought it just said paw mea, you know,
- 6:30Speaker 1: like a name. I recently learned where Alaska is actually located.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Oh wow, that's unfortunate. These are adults, adults. I was
- 6:43Speaker 1: in my thirties when I realized that the Santa and
- 6:46Speaker 1: I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus was actually the dad.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Oh yep, I mean listen unless Mommy is you know who. Yeah,
- 6:58Speaker 2: anime is not just two animals. Tapioca pudding is not
- 7:05Speaker 2: fish eggs. My mom told me it was so that
- 7:08Speaker 2: we wouldn't eat her pudding. I didn't learn in my
- 7:11Speaker 2: mid twenties it were now. And you pronounced the bee
- 7:17Speaker 2: in subterfuge. Yeah, subterfuge, subterfuge, subterfuge. And there are a
- 7:27Speaker 2: lot so I'm sure people listening are going, Oh, I
- 7:30Speaker 2: have one of those. I said, I said the word detritus,
- 7:38Speaker 2: which you know, just jump detritis. I swore it was Detrius.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Really, and uh one of the first things that I
- 7:46Speaker 1: ever encountered. My wife when we were just very first dating.
- 7:50Speaker 1: We had an argument about it and I said, no,
- 7:53Speaker 1: it's Detrius. She said it's not either it's detritus. I'm
- 7:56Speaker 1: sure it's Detrius. And we went to sam Weller's because
- 8:00Speaker 1: we were close to Trolley Square or no, we were
- 8:03Speaker 1: close to the books with the old bookstore downtown, and
- 8:06Speaker 1: we went into sam Wellers and got a dictionary off
- 8:09Speaker 1: the shelf to the pronouncer.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what that would't even mean.
- 8:13Speaker 1: So the tritus keep going, it means, you know.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Just junk and crap scattered around. Yeah, like you described
- 8:21Speaker 2: the studio we're in exactly, there's full of all kinds
- 8:24Speaker 2: of detritis. Okay, So it's like a noun.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It's okay, Yeah, I like that word.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I'm going to add that to my vocabulary.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Here's here's a texter, this one. This one's a good one.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I thought pre Madonna meant before Madonna. I like that
- 8:39Speaker 1: pre Madonna. Well, okay, yeah.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Sure.
- 8:43Speaker 1: She's a pre Madonna. Really, she was before Madonna.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I think that's a better meaning.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I like that. I like that a lot. Okay, we've
- 8:52Speaker 1: hoped you'd enjoyed. Another list with Radio from Hell on
