- 0:02Speaker 1: She's such a beautiful shade of blue. I'm gonna call
- 0:05Speaker 1: you blue Well at the whale.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Check it out world's biggest, aren't it far? You just
- 0:13Speaker 2: made above wading four finger discount dude.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Welcome to four figure discoup where this week we're going
- 0:35Speaker 1: to be squirting a whale Hondano. I didn't realize we're
- 0:39Speaker 1: going to be doing that this episode. Okay, but I'm
- 0:41Speaker 1: ill prepared. But I'm guy, yes quite in the whale.
- 0:43Speaker 1: We I've already actually reviewed this one with Mitch many
- 0:47Speaker 1: moons ago. Someone paid one hundred dollars for us to
- 0:48Speaker 1: specifically review this one, really, and I remember liking it
- 0:52Speaker 1: a lot more when we did it back to then
- 0:55Speaker 1: this one here, I want to review it now. Maybe
- 0:57Speaker 1: it's because we've been doing a lot more season twenty
- 0:59Speaker 1: one episod. I'm seeing more trends of things that I
- 1:03Speaker 1: don't like, in particular characters and sort of plot points
- 1:05Speaker 1: and beats and whatnot. I saw a lot of that
- 1:07Speaker 1: in here as well. There was a lot to enjoy
- 1:09Speaker 1: in this story, but also a lot of it when
- 1:11Speaker 1: I just went why are we doing this? As well?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Just sort of pick a lane and say in it, well, yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I mean this does feel like, oh, we had two
- 1:19Speaker 1: ideas for episodes, but we couldn't quite flesh them both out.
- 1:23Speaker 1: So let's take let's go so far with one and
- 1:26Speaker 1: then let's move on to the other one with the
- 1:28Speaker 1: two stories for you then, so it's like, okay, well,
- 1:31Speaker 1: energy costs too much, let's get off grid. How can
- 1:33Speaker 1: we do that. Let's get a wind turbine comic Shenannigans
- 1:36Speaker 1: ensue there's too much wind. Ah, Okay. Then it does
- 1:39Speaker 1: happen a lot in the Simpsons, though, where they have
- 1:41Speaker 1: just a bunch of shit happens in the first act
- 1:43Speaker 1: that leads to the main story. But you really didn't
- 1:45Speaker 1: really feel like an inciting incident. It felt more like
- 1:47Speaker 1: an It felt four than and insight. I don't like
- 1:50Speaker 1: it when they waste too much time on that setup career.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Go ah, so that's not the that's what this is
- 1:55Speaker 1: going to be about. Okay, Yeah, that's what you That's
- 1:57Speaker 1: what you got the feeling the episode was going to
- 1:59Speaker 1: be about. It's like, yeah, an energy centered episode. I
- 2:03Speaker 1: always lost a living kind of stif I go back
- 2:05Speaker 1: to the Tremopoline episode where you know, a good the
- 2:08Speaker 1: first third of the episode is home of getting this
- 2:10Speaker 1: trampoline and turn into a theme park and kids get
- 2:12Speaker 1: injured and blah blah blah, and that all leads to
- 2:14Speaker 1: the self help guru voiced by other books coming to
- 2:16Speaker 1: spring But it's like, ah, so all that has nothing
- 2:19Speaker 1: to really do in the episode. Yeah, I'm gonna have
- 2:23Speaker 1: to revisit that episode, which is one of my favorites.
- 2:25Speaker 1: But yeah, the whole trampoline bit with felt like really
- 2:28Speaker 1: two or three scene, No, it goes it's the entire
- 2:30Speaker 1: first act. Really, Yeah, that's theeropoline and yeah, and then
- 2:33Speaker 1: he gets it and people get injured and all that
- 2:36Speaker 1: kind of stuff that feels like, yeah, it's like maybe
- 2:39Speaker 1: five minutes of the episode or something like that. I
- 2:41Speaker 1: don't know, maybe they have been the act of seven minutes. Okay,
- 2:45Speaker 1: time has no meaning anymore. Yeah, but then there's a storm,
- 2:49Speaker 1: Whaler's beached itself and yeah, the rest of the episode
- 2:53Speaker 1: is just that and Least's reaction to it, and I
- 2:56Speaker 1: guess the community is reaction to it as well. The
- 2:57Speaker 1: Springfield community is reaction to it. Yeah, I felt odd.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I feel like this could have been almost like a
- 3:05Speaker 1: mini movie plot just if handled correctly. If it was
- 3:08Speaker 1: just focusing on the whale because to feel like there's
- 3:11Speaker 1: a lot of things I needed to explore there that
- 3:13Speaker 1: they didn't have real time too, because I don't think
- 3:16Speaker 1: we really had enough time to be emotionally connected to
- 3:18Speaker 1: this whale. No, And that's the thing I mean thinking
- 3:22Speaker 1: about this episode and thinking about this particular sort of
- 3:24Speaker 1: plot line about the whale beaching itself, and it seems
- 3:28Speaker 1: like the community comes together in some way. The first
- 3:32Speaker 1: tenet of reviewing is review what it is, not what
- 3:35Speaker 1: it's not. But I was looking at going, well, here's
- 3:37Speaker 1: how I would have done it, or here's how this
- 3:38Speaker 1: could have been better. You have it about Oh this
- 3:42Speaker 1: terrible thing. Here's a whale, one of God's wonderful creatures.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It beats itself. This is really sad phenomenon. Oh you know,
- 3:48Speaker 1: we're all all the community rallies behind it. Got to
- 3:51Speaker 1: get it back in the ocean, all this kind of stuff.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But then once it's like no one seems to care.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but it's this is kind of a lost cause.
- 3:59Speaker 1: And then everyone's like, Okay, well back to our normal lives.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And Liasa is the one who can't let it go
- 4:03Speaker 1: because Lisa is very sensitive. It's like, I think you
- 4:05Speaker 1: could do a whole episode around this. I think it
- 4:08Speaker 1: would be not a very special episode in quote marks,
- 4:11Speaker 1: but it would be like one that has more heart
- 4:14Speaker 1: than laughs. And it's an opportunity for again for Lisa
- 4:18Speaker 1: and Homer to kind of bond because you know, he
- 4:20Speaker 1: doesn't always get it right, but he recognizes how important
- 4:23Speaker 1: this is to her and how much how deeply it's
- 4:25Speaker 1: affecting her, and he wants to help in any way
- 4:26Speaker 1: he can, but his time, so he fucks up. They
- 4:30Speaker 1: sort of do that, but they don't really do it
- 4:33Speaker 1: all that well if you ask me, because we've reached
- 4:35Speaker 1: the stage of the game we're in season twenty one.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Homer's not being sort of a well meaning clot He's
- 4:42Speaker 1: just being a fucking dummy. Yeah, and that same with
- 4:45Speaker 1: a Bart character as well, well yeah, yeah, and yeah,
- 4:48Speaker 1: and Bart's being just not a brat but a capital
- 4:52Speaker 1: Letter's brats and kind of yeah, a little psycho and
- 4:54Speaker 1: all this kind of stuff. And I think, as I'm saying,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I think I like this more because we will in
- 4:59Speaker 1: midst like season nine or ten or whatever. When we
- 5:01Speaker 1: were reviewing this one originally, I think because I'm seeing
- 5:04Speaker 1: Bart so often lately and homos so often lately being
- 5:07Speaker 1: this dummy, and Bart feeling like he's pointless, and see
- 5:10Speaker 1: me in here, I'm like this shit again, where it
- 5:12Speaker 1: wouldn't have felt as wrong when I only saw it
- 5:15Speaker 1: just once. It's like, oh, I'm not being beaten over
- 5:16Speaker 1: the head with it. Yeah, And I mean I think
- 5:18Speaker 1: there's the potential in there for a harsh but valuable
- 5:22Speaker 1: lesson in that this was tragic, but life kind of
- 5:27Speaker 1: has to go on, you know, and some people just
- 5:29Speaker 1: can't let it go and that really sort of lingers
- 5:32Speaker 1: with them in this case with Lisa, and what do
- 5:35Speaker 1: they call it blueller the way, Well, yeah, I was
- 5:37Speaker 1: annoyed that no one really besides Homer like comforted Lisa
- 5:41Speaker 1: in the loss of the whale, like bar should have gone, ah, yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I made fun of Lisa. I probably should say sorry.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And I know there's not really much humor in there,
- 5:48Speaker 1: but you can find humans in it, oh absolutely, But
- 5:51Speaker 1: it just felt like there wasn't they expected us to
- 5:53Speaker 1: feel this emotional connection to this whale. Now this I
- 5:56Speaker 1: actually really liked when she died and you can't hear
- 5:59Speaker 1: Lisa cross, She's just you can see that she's sobbing,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and it's the pan wide shot, right, But then it
- 6:04Speaker 1: just cuts them just we're gonna blow her up and
- 6:06Speaker 1: we're gonna turn her into corsets. And it's like, okay,
- 6:08Speaker 1: but this all right? Now apparently the blowing up the
- 6:11Speaker 1: whale is based on a real incident. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but I don't know. It's terrible being sort of a
- 6:17Speaker 1: Monday morning quarterback here. It's like, but there must have
- 6:20Speaker 1: been better ways to fold all this into into the story.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just going from that principle of like, yes,
- 6:27Speaker 1: here's a tragedy that affects the whole community, but one
- 6:30Speaker 1: person feels it deeper than everybody else. And yeah, and
- 6:32Speaker 1: it gives father and daughter an opportunity to sort of bond.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It just feels like you kind of fumble. You're so close,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but you find kind of fumbling in a lot of way.
- 6:41Speaker 1: They're trying to go for that real emotional endyway. She's like,
- 6:43Speaker 1: thanks for not letting me give up, Dad, And I
- 6:45Speaker 1: was like, yeah, this really wasn't earned, no, b Yeah,
- 6:50Speaker 1: you've got a wave just conventos up. I've got a
- 6:52Speaker 1: boat that I've borrowed from the boat shop. Hey, let's
- 6:54Speaker 1: go stop these sharks. Oh shit, I've fallen in the water.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Now hey fuck those hippies. I don't know, but just
- 7:01Speaker 1: the whole. So it cust to Lisa and she's and
- 7:04Speaker 1: she is sitting in what would have been where the
- 7:07Speaker 1: whale was sitting right, just the whole there in the end,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I'm like, where's the whale gun? They didn't blow the
- 7:10Speaker 1: whole corpse up. They blow a chunk of it off well,
- 7:13Speaker 1: so they were able to move the corps where but
- 7:14Speaker 1: they couldn't move it away when it was alive. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: maybe you've got to break it down into Pattie Wheat
- 7:19Speaker 1: and elvint one pace of a time maybe, But yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 1: what are your thoughts on the design of the whale?
- 7:25Speaker 1: It didn't look like a Simpsons character. It looked No,
- 7:27Speaker 1: it looks pretty sort of not photorealistic, but different animation,
- 7:30Speaker 1: didn't it. The Simpsons characters look like Simpsons characters. They
- 7:34Speaker 1: don't necessarily look like people. Yeah, whereas this whale was like,
- 7:38Speaker 1: go like a whale. I just think the whole opening
- 7:42Speaker 1: act it should have been an episode in itself. Right,
- 7:44Speaker 1: talking about very alternative energy, I think they referred to
- 7:47Speaker 1: it right. I mean, this is kind of the episode
- 7:49Speaker 1: where you get al Gore in or something to provide
- 7:51Speaker 1: the message. Yeah, but you know, generally is like we're
- 7:54Speaker 1: trying Sola, We're trying wind. You know, mister Burns is
- 7:58Speaker 1: trying to sabotage everyone. He makes a little cameo appearance
- 8:01Speaker 1: at the but I want to touch on that, and
- 8:03Speaker 1: that annoyed me. It annoyed me. But that story, so
- 8:08Speaker 1: the whole point it was it gets that. It was
- 8:10Speaker 1: to get to the fact that there's a storm and
- 8:13Speaker 1: a whale is beach as a result. Right, you didn't
- 8:16Speaker 1: need any of anything that came beforehand. It was just
- 8:18Speaker 1: wasn't not just Bart saying hey God, oh Homer, I'll
- 8:20Speaker 1: make a deal with your order one of the kids.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I think it was Bart because he's on top of
- 8:23Speaker 1: the windmills, I make a deal with you or whatever,
- 8:25Speaker 1: and God creates a storm and I'm like, wait, what non,
- 8:28Speaker 1: Why did we have to go through all this to
- 8:30Speaker 1: get to that? I think the episode should have started
- 8:32Speaker 1: with them like, you know, a packed beach. It's a
- 8:34Speaker 1: summer day and everyone's like having a great time, and
- 8:37Speaker 1: then something happens is like, oh, irony massive storm. Now
- 8:40Speaker 1: ruined there somebody. Everyone run runs away and they come
- 8:42Speaker 1: back the next day. Oh, it's nice mother again. Let's
- 8:45Speaker 1: go back to the beach and there's a whale there.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That's it. Yeah, And you have some people are like,
- 8:49Speaker 1: oh my god, this is terrible and something, Ah, you're
- 8:50Speaker 1: ruined my good beach day or something like that. Yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and I have people saying and then listening, No, this
- 8:54Speaker 1: is not the whale's fault. It's the storm's fault. We
- 8:56Speaker 1: had to help this scene. They're like oh. And then
- 8:58Speaker 1: that's when the towns people work together and they realize
- 9:00Speaker 1: or we can't. We're trying, we're trying, we're trying. And
- 9:02Speaker 1: then he has like Professor Frank or someone who's intelligent, go,
- 9:05Speaker 1: you do realize that the chances of this things are
- 9:07Speaker 1: very grim. And everyone's like, oh well, boys, let's go
- 9:09Speaker 1: back to mos and a list you can't give up.
- 9:11Speaker 1: And Homer's like torns, like come on home. It's kind
- 9:13Speaker 1: of mos. He's like sees Lisa and he's like, I'm
- 9:15Speaker 1: gonna stay with my little girl. There's your story. It's
- 9:18Speaker 1: all there. It's all there. But the mister Burns sing,
- 9:21Speaker 1: why annoy me? Right? Why'd annoy it? So if this
- 9:25Speaker 1: was season we can't compare it. It's not season five,
- 9:27Speaker 1: seasons six, Simpsons season twenty one. But why would Burns
- 9:31Speaker 1: be at this convention? The mister Burns that we grew
- 9:33Speaker 1: up with be at this convention doing a silent, peaceful
- 9:37Speaker 1: protest by himself. There's being a lot of protest being
- 9:41Speaker 1: and kind of ineffectual, making no difference for the sake
- 9:44Speaker 1: of a sign. Gag, Right, It just this screams to
- 9:47Speaker 1: me like a writer's room, knowing no one in the
- 9:50Speaker 1: room either saying, haven't thet gus to say? But why
- 9:53Speaker 1: would Burns be there? Or maybe it's just the case
- 9:56Speaker 1: of who cares? Who cares? Because mister Burns, the character
- 10:01Speaker 1: who know on love would be either you know, trying
- 10:03Speaker 1: to using his power and he's money to shut this
- 10:06Speaker 1: thing down the whole not sitting there walking buses with
- 10:09Speaker 1: the little sign. It's like, that's not mister Burns. Yeah,
- 10:12Speaker 1: that's not what mister Burns would do. Yeah, if you're
- 10:15Speaker 1: gonna have whipping Smither's holding it or something, that's what
- 10:17Speaker 1: I was, or have him like on a big screen
- 10:20Speaker 1: or something. You know, he's like a board all the
- 10:22Speaker 1: airtime to say keep poisoning the earth, make me money
- 10:26Speaker 1: something like that, but just walk him. I was like,
- 10:29Speaker 1: just the sign sign, No, it should have been the
- 10:30Speaker 1: sign herself was funny, but mister Burns doing this stupid Yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 1: it should have been Smither's yeah. And the other thing
- 10:35Speaker 1: that kind of was it was the writer. It's almost
- 10:37Speaker 1: acknowledging that they've ruined this character. Season twenty one, the
- 10:41Speaker 1: Ned Flannder's character is ruined, ruined in my opinion. Howso
- 10:45Speaker 1: well they have him pull out the power the fans
- 10:50Speaker 1: right from the Simpsons. They say your fan pair club
- 10:53Speaker 1: has been shut down, and I was like, you can't
- 10:54Speaker 1: do that, and then he's like, you used to be nicer.
- 10:57Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, he did used to be nice. And
- 10:59Speaker 1: that was the whole point of the car Do you
- 11:00Speaker 1: felt sympathetic towards because you were a jerk? And Flanders
- 11:02Speaker 1: always would give in and go okay. He used to
- 11:05Speaker 1: come out and say, how would he really to use
- 11:07Speaker 1: all those fans, shut up flanners, whatever, and that was
- 11:09Speaker 1: the joke. Now Flanders sticks up for himself and it's
- 11:12Speaker 1: like it's not funny anymore. It's kind of like when
- 11:14Speaker 1: a fat comedian loses all their weight. You're not funny anymore.
- 11:18Speaker 1: You were funny because you were fat, you know, like
- 11:21Speaker 1: you were funny because you were a simpy. You're funny.
- 11:23Speaker 1: You were funny because you were not pathetic, but you
- 11:25Speaker 1: were just so nice to people. And I get their
- 11:28Speaker 1: characters need to evolve, but they don't actually evolve, many
- 11:31Speaker 1: of the characters and the simps, because they are stereotypes
- 11:33Speaker 1: and they are there for a specific reason. Well that's
- 11:36Speaker 1: the thing. I mean, we all enjoyed when Smithers, you know,
- 11:40Speaker 1: when Smithers failed, you know, and he oh no, when
- 11:42Speaker 1: they when they built him his house and it was
- 11:44Speaker 1: ship that was Hurricane Eddy. Yeah, Smither's flanners, yeah yeah,
- 11:48Speaker 1: and he has the tirade. Yeah, sorry, didn't say Smithers.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, and he goes right, I can't
- 11:54Speaker 1: Levin got in tangents. But yeah, why is the episodes
- 11:56Speaker 1: so great because it runs counter to h to what
- 11:59Speaker 1: Flanders used to be yet or he normally was. Yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 1: you make you a really good point about these characters.
- 12:08Speaker 1: You're betraying what they used to be, what they brought
- 12:11Speaker 1: to the table, they brought to the show. I put
- 12:13Speaker 1: the death of the Flanders character. You can pinpoint the
- 12:16Speaker 1: second when it happens was the death of mord Flanders. Okay,
- 12:19Speaker 1: it was good for a I'm sure publicity stunt. It
- 12:23Speaker 1: was their way of getting back at Maggie Roswell because
- 12:26Speaker 1: she didn't she wanted to pay increase, or she wanted
- 12:28Speaker 1: to be able to voice from home, or there was
- 12:29Speaker 1: some specific reason a contract dispute, and they're like, well,
- 12:32Speaker 1: she's not coming back, let's kill off one of her characters.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We'll get we'll get, we'll get a rating out of it, right,
- 12:36Speaker 1: And it made for an interesting story for the Flanders
- 12:38Speaker 1: character at that time. You know, oh, he's going to
- 12:41Speaker 1: be single now, blah blah blah. But it feels like
- 12:43Speaker 1: going forward, they just didn't know what to do with
- 12:46Speaker 1: the Flanners character anymo, because he couldn't go back to
- 12:48Speaker 1: being the Flanners he was anymore because he's had such
- 12:50Speaker 1: a such a terrible incident in his life and it
- 12:54Speaker 1: quick questioned his faith and all this other, all these
- 12:56Speaker 1: other things. It was a fun episode to dove into
- 12:59Speaker 1: who he is his faith in the way he questioned
- 13:01Speaker 1: it in that episode, But going forward, he's not. He
- 13:04Speaker 1: sticks up for himself now, and that's good. Right, it's
- 13:07Speaker 1: good he sticks up for himself. But from a comedy perspective,
- 13:09Speaker 1: it kind of sucks. How is any of this funny? Well,
- 13:12Speaker 1: this is the accentainly wasn't the fan club blame was?
- 13:16Speaker 1: But so when Homer says, used to be nice, and
- 13:18Speaker 1: I was like, that was the point of the character,
- 13:20Speaker 1: and you've stripped that away? Yeah, I didn't see when
- 13:24Speaker 1: that line was uttered. I'm like, this is all you're
- 13:27Speaker 1: coming up with. That's not it's just you acknowledging as
- 13:31Speaker 1: a writer. I am this character used to be better,
- 13:34Speaker 1: used to be better. The Flanners character is done. There's
- 13:38Speaker 1: no point to him. Now what is the point of
- 13:40Speaker 1: the Flanders character? Now we'll keep we'll keep an eye
- 13:43Speaker 1: open and see what happens in future episodes. But yeah,
- 13:45Speaker 1: based on this episode, it's like, I can't recall the
- 13:46Speaker 1: last one had a good Flander story, nor do I.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And it takes me back to when we spoke to
- 13:51Speaker 1: Harry Shier and he says, I realized Simpsons wasn't the
- 13:54Speaker 1: Simpsons anymore. I can't remember what it was specifically, but
- 13:58Speaker 1: it was a Flanders line and he goes, I said,
- 14:02Speaker 1: they gained me the script and I'm reading the script,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and Harry said. I said to him, Flanners wouldn't say this,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and they said, it doesn't matter, it's just just read it,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and he goes. I realized they were no longer writing
- 14:14Speaker 1: jokes for the characters. They were writing jokes and just
- 14:16Speaker 1: assigning into a character. Even that's when I was like,
- 14:18Speaker 1: this isn't the Simpsons anymore. Sucks to hear that, but
- 14:22Speaker 1: it's true though, when you've gone through, when you go
- 14:24Speaker 1: through chronological order and you start seeing the deterioration of
- 14:26Speaker 1: these characters. Harry was he not to right in the head.
- 14:29Speaker 1: These jokes don't aren't written for specific characters anymore. It's
- 14:32Speaker 1: just let's just write jokes and go, oh, you haven't
- 14:34Speaker 1: had Flanders for a while, throwing him in there doing it.
- 14:36Speaker 1: There's not a bit in here that annoyed me as well.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Okay, So they're having a debate, we
- 14:42Speaker 1: need to find the town's smartest men, right, and they're
- 14:45Speaker 1: doing the tug of war with their heads, and Lisa says,
- 14:49Speaker 1: I'm not really sure any of these people down there
- 14:51Speaker 1: can be considered smart. My doctor Hibbitt's there, Who is there?
- 14:55Speaker 1: Principal Skinner is there? What are we doing these ones?
- 15:02Speaker 1: These were ones the boss, the most intelligent people in Springfield,
- 15:06Speaker 1: and they're they're fucking They're demoted the point of their
- 15:08Speaker 1: having tuger war with the likes of Lenny and Carl
- 15:11Speaker 1: and Homer with their heads. We're sacrificing, you know, character
- 15:16Speaker 1: integrity for the sake of a shitty one side gag,
- 15:19Speaker 1: side gag and Lisa's I don't think what do you?
- 15:22Speaker 1: Lisa is no longer thinks are poop smart? And the
- 15:24Speaker 1: only thinks doctor doctor Hibbert is not? So he's doctor Nick?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Now is he? Just? Why couldn't Why could that not
- 15:30Speaker 1: have been doctor Nick? Well? Why not say? This doesn't
- 15:32Speaker 1: strike me as very smart as opposed to Yeah, yeah,
- 15:36Speaker 1: the situations at the end of your d could be
- 15:38Speaker 1: sid as smart. It's like Poo's probably the smartest guy
- 15:40Speaker 1: on Springfield. You would think so, right, A lot wrong
- 15:43Speaker 1: with this episode. It's just little things that shouldn't mean
- 15:48Speaker 1: so much. But as a lifelong Simpsons van, you watch
- 15:50Speaker 1: this and you go, why have all in this rega? Yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 1: because this episode could have been could have been so
- 15:57Speaker 1: much more heart When you're critiquing it, get there's a
- 16:00Speaker 1: difference between just watching something and being entertained and critiquing it.
- 16:03Speaker 1: And if you want to critique this man, there was
- 16:06Speaker 1: a lot to have about it. I just have to
- 16:08Speaker 1: get off my chest. I was just annoyed by it.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I'm glad you did. You did my favorite. Do you
- 16:14Speaker 1: have any favorite moments in the episode. I would probably
- 16:16Speaker 1: watch Tic Tac toe X the O Okay, yeah, I
- 16:19Speaker 1: would probably pay money for it. No, All my time
- 16:23Speaker 1: is Mexican prison movie idea has some good points. It
- 16:27Speaker 1: feels it feels like a nineteen ninety seven action for
- 16:29Speaker 1: cool and flu. You'd have them what's the dude, Danny? Yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 1: in there, get the villaing of throw a few bucks
- 16:39Speaker 1: down his way. He'd be just at it, just about anything.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I like how I get a bit of you'd appreciate
- 16:43Speaker 1: this at least watching House. Yes, yes, I have now
- 16:46Speaker 1: the house formula. Did you see the tweet? Yeah, Hugh,
- 16:49Speaker 1: Laura is getting getting a bit stucky. He admittedly had
- 16:52Speaker 1: a couple of lies. Yeah when he wrote that, but
- 16:55Speaker 1: it was just we tried getting it right the first time.
- 16:57Speaker 1: In the MBN said we didn't like it. As it
- 16:59Speaker 1: was finishing sixth minutes and I'm like, I get that,
- 17:01Speaker 1: but like more people need to understand. What I quickly
- 17:04Speaker 1: gathered was this show is not a bin show. It's
- 17:07Speaker 1: a you watch it once a week, you carry on
- 17:09Speaker 1: with your life, you come back to it, your you
- 17:10Speaker 1: like this formula. But watching his formula back to back
- 17:13Speaker 1: to back becomes my numbing Oh god. Yeah, I've said
- 17:16Speaker 1: this more than months in this podcast that my relationship
- 17:20Speaker 1: is a very MUCHO sentence. My relationship to Gilmore girls
- 17:23Speaker 1: change forever. When I watched a whole bunch of episodes
- 17:26Speaker 1: back to back, it's like, oh my goodness. Oh it
- 17:29Speaker 1: sucks when you can see the formula like you see
- 17:31Speaker 1: also but boom, Yeah it's our rhythm and pacing is
- 17:35Speaker 1: this way, this way, this way, or you know. I
- 17:37Speaker 1: had a weekend was like, you know, it's good those
- 17:40Speaker 1: Borne moves, Jason Bourne. I'm gonna watch the like, oh
- 17:43Speaker 1: these are all the same movie. Yeah, it's just fine. Yeah,
- 17:46Speaker 1: they go back to back to back. You're like, ah, yeah,
- 17:48Speaker 1: it's like I'm born out. Yeah a little bit. Yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 1: damn shame. I Nicol and I now have a game.
- 17:54Speaker 1: We watched Lauren Order and we're watching like there it's
- 17:56Speaker 1: called Laura Order twenty one. I don't real had a
- 17:58Speaker 1: ten year holiday. You know this? This so Lauren Order. Right.
- 18:03Speaker 1: The original Law and Order started in nineteen ninety, but
- 18:05Speaker 1: then it was like they started doing the whole Digwolf universe,
- 18:09Speaker 1: so it was like Laura SVU. We watched it and
- 18:11Speaker 1: I was like, previously on Laura Order. I'm like, what
- 18:13Speaker 1: what do you mean. It's like you have to watch
- 18:15Speaker 1: this Law and Order specific episode to know it was going.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You're talking about the more recent ones like laur and
- 18:19Speaker 1: Order Organized Crime. I no, no, no, no, So they do
- 18:22Speaker 1: do that with organized crime, but this one specifically was
- 18:24Speaker 1: a Lauren Order episode, right, Yeah, And what happened was
- 18:26Speaker 1: in like twenty eleven, Law and Order stopped the original
- 18:30Speaker 1: show and it returned in twenty twenty one as Law
- 18:33Speaker 1: and Order twenty one. Wow, it's so bizarre. That's because yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 1: the original stop, but SBU kept going. Yeah, so season
- 18:41Speaker 1: twenty stopped in like twenty ten or whatever. So then
- 18:44Speaker 1: when it was twenty twenty one, they called it Laura
- 18:46Speaker 1: Order twenty one, but it was actually season twenty one. Wow.
- 18:49Speaker 1: It was so but we're watching it there. We have
- 18:50Speaker 1: a game that we watch it and in the first
- 18:53Speaker 1: five or six minutes, we'll watch it and it's the
- 18:55Speaker 1: first one you can go it was that guy because
- 18:57Speaker 1: you can always tell they sort of they introduced into
- 19:00Speaker 1: the episode. They have like a little throwaway line. You're like,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I'm going to see you later. It's going to be
- 19:04Speaker 1: you somehow, and it's the same formula week to week,
- 19:07Speaker 1: and it's just like, ah, you know what. That strikes
- 19:10Speaker 1: me as especially heinous. Nobody can watch SPU without saying that, Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 1: but you watch Law in Order though, And because we
- 19:17Speaker 1: watched so much SPU, the Law and Order opening bit
- 19:20Speaker 1: is different and it just frozer, where's the heinous we need?
- 19:25Speaker 1: We need to the gag I liked, Yes, at least
- 19:29Speaker 1: watching house was my second bit. I also liked the
- 19:32Speaker 1: mentioning the at the expo and he says that you
- 19:35Speaker 1: get tax curdit for this and you haven't paid off
- 19:36Speaker 1: in like twelve to eighteen weeks. Halftimes, we have the
- 19:40Speaker 1: solar panels on the roof and they're almost paid off.
- 19:43Speaker 1: It took us like I think six or seven years.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And now it's like if you get a battery, you
- 19:48Speaker 1: don't just send it back to them. You saw the
- 19:50Speaker 1: power here and you just use that. I'm like, let's
- 19:53Speaker 1: do it. Oh absolutely, yea, and actually where he's out
- 19:56Speaker 1: better for us now we're actually saving money. Yeah. Oh yeah, No,
- 19:58Speaker 1: soul is great. Yeah. We if we if we do
- 20:00Speaker 1: stuff between eleven AM and three pm, it's basically free.
- 20:04Speaker 1: So we do the washing, we do the dishes, we
- 20:07Speaker 1: do anything that's between eleven and dish washer I mean,
- 20:09Speaker 1: is between eleven and three it's free. I do the dishes,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and you know it's free because I don't use the
- 20:14Speaker 1: dish washing and you don't get paid in calmer points
- 20:19Speaker 1: maybe anything you enjoy. I like the Boston Legal shout
- 20:21Speaker 1: out sort of the whole I like, yes, that wasn't legal. Yes,
- 20:24Speaker 1: I never watch Boston Legal good stuff. Yeah. We started
- 20:27Speaker 1: watching it and then it got taken off the streaming
- 20:29Speaker 1: service we were watching it. We're like, oh, no, is
- 20:31Speaker 1: it not on Disney Plane. It must be on It
- 20:32Speaker 1: wasn't Disney Plus when we first watched it. I think
- 20:34Speaker 1: we're watching it. I think it was on Netflix at
- 20:35Speaker 1: the time or something. Okay, next question you there eating
- 20:39Speaker 1: the paste trivia time. My first question for you, mister
- 20:42Speaker 1: Davis is what did mister Burns is infamous science saying, oh,
- 20:46Speaker 1: it's something like justice for Earth poisoners and fair to
- 20:49Speaker 1: Earth poisonous. I'll give you that one. Okay. Then my
- 20:52Speaker 1: first question, you Homer wants a churo that you can eat?
- 20:55Speaker 1: Where the shower? The shower? My next question is the
- 21:02Speaker 1: tic tac toe xpa. Who are the two characters in
- 21:04Speaker 1: the movie, Romeo and Julie X Yes, whales on the
- 21:12Speaker 1: T shirt is an acronym for what. Oh no, I
- 21:16Speaker 1: didn't actually pay attention to. What was that? We helped
- 21:18Speaker 1: air leave. We we helped airlift Lisa's enormous soulmate. Okay,
- 21:25Speaker 1: that's the members of Operation Desert Ocean. I actually thought
- 21:27Speaker 1: that was quite a good twist. It was. Yes. I
- 21:29Speaker 1: initially thought, oh, okay, then they rally behind, but then
- 21:32Speaker 1: I realized that there's a bit more to go on
- 21:33Speaker 1: this episode. Where did they go from here? And my
- 21:37Speaker 1: final question for you is how many sharks were killed
- 21:40Speaker 1: for shark fin soup the year before? Oh my gosh,
- 21:43Speaker 1: uh something some like weird extreme million was forty. I
- 21:48Speaker 1: was gonna say something like six hundred million, which is
- 21:50Speaker 1: probably true. Good day, Yeah, they've had shark fin soup. No,
- 21:55Speaker 1: it's a lot of flake It's it's devastating to think
- 21:57Speaker 1: what we do two creatures, isn't it. Oh yeah, they
- 22:00Speaker 1: they just catch ugs, cut the things off and throwing
- 22:01Speaker 1: back into water. Oh yeah, yeah. We deserve everything we can.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Oh no, we're ship We're terrible to the planet. Having
- 22:09Speaker 1: said that, I'm probably gonna have some flake a at Lata.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I've fled for a long time. My final question to
- 22:14Speaker 1: you is what is the name of the female sea hugger?
- 22:18Speaker 1: The female sea hugger, you know, the also like the hippies, hippies, Yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 1: the hippies. No, was it? It was Linda, Linda. It
- 22:26Speaker 1: was a shout out to Linda McCartney in anyway, I
- 22:28Speaker 1: wouldn't say so. I don't think so. I want to
- 22:31Speaker 1: throw it out there. Time for some stonecutter shares, mister
- 22:43Speaker 1: Davis absolutely starting with the lovely kadg with her one
- 22:46Speaker 1: hundred dollar support. Was it got, mister David Stewart, Glenn Gomez,
- 22:49Speaker 1: Justin Parker's that Prouet, Schney Macker, Elliott j O'Neil, Isabella Murphy,
- 22:53Speaker 1: Roach Beasley, Stephen Roberts, Sean DV. Pete Anderson, Timothy Bels
- 22:57Speaker 1: and Andrew Davis, Kevin Dental, planned Flood Apple be Jackmie Fadden,
- 23:01Speaker 1: Baler winder Back, Adrick McLeod, Mark Trelevin, Preston, Murray t
- 23:04Speaker 1: Lei and Enriquez, Declan Phoenix, Brian McCoy, Logan b James Ship,
- 23:07Speaker 1: but Joe Ridden and Say Dave, Prencess McNally, Gavin named Demi, Milo, Charlie, Joe,
- 23:10Speaker 1: Abigail b Sharpkater Craig Alti, Smash Gloucester and Ginger and
- 23:14Speaker 1: Pickle Ginger Pickle. By the way, I'm uh, you're not
- 23:17Speaker 1: making that misake again. David Stewart is now upfront. Yes, yeah,
- 23:21Speaker 1: he was paying for a couple of months. He's like,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I just like my name once in a while, just once. Yes,
- 23:25Speaker 1: It's like now you'll get it all the time, now, buddy,
- 23:27Speaker 1: all the time. All right. So the original air day
- 23:30Speaker 1: of this episode, The Squirt and the Whale was April
- 23:33Speaker 1: twenty fifth, twenty ten. This was ANZAC Day in twenty ten,
- 23:36Speaker 1: Oh Than Give Your Service, and the top three films
- 23:38Speaker 1: at the US box office were number three, Date Night,
- 23:40Speaker 1: number two The Backup Plan, and number one was How
- 23:43Speaker 1: to Train Your Dragon. Well, we know about Date Night,
- 23:45Speaker 1: which is Tina Fean and Stead Carrell. The Backup Plan
- 23:47Speaker 1: is a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez and Australia's own
- 23:50Speaker 1: Alex O'Loughlin. Okay, that's where she has she has the
- 23:55Speaker 1: artificial information, so yeah, and she's like, wait a minute now, man,
- 23:59Speaker 1: a guy that I want a root and with correct
- 24:02Speaker 1: and number one was had a training dragon moved its
- 24:04Speaker 1: weight for number two two number one. Indeed, the episode
- 24:07Speaker 1: was written by Matt Wadberson, directed by Mark Kirkland. The
- 24:10Speaker 1: chopboat gag was a reference to South Park, So this
- 24:12Speaker 1: ad when the two oh one two hundred. Initially yes, yeah,
- 24:15Speaker 1: they were like we'd stand with you, we went scared
- 24:17Speaker 1: or something along. When I watched it on Disney Plus
- 24:21Speaker 1: the other night, it actually had like Bart running something
- 24:24Speaker 1: in French which says I am not French, or something
- 24:26Speaker 1: along those lines. I wish they just left the South
- 24:28Speaker 1: Pike went in, you think so? Cashcake couch gag was
- 24:32Speaker 1: also the couches sort of running through a newspaper showing
- 24:34Speaker 1: up in various things showing up and the one has
- 24:36Speaker 1: a nice reunion at the end. You also had other
- 24:38Speaker 1: little bits and pieces they had the billboard which was
- 24:40Speaker 1: text me your lunch money. There was a sign for
- 24:43Speaker 1: e bully dot com and I think you had like
- 24:45Speaker 1: the it like a Fox Network flying machine at the
- 24:49Speaker 1: very start, something like kneon doing the cane and codos
- 24:52Speaker 1: or the you know what that thing is at the
- 24:55Speaker 1: very start what they called side gag, you know in
- 25:00Speaker 1: the opening the opening credits, Yes, assume sounds and you
- 25:04Speaker 1: know they'll have something go over it. Yeah, it was
- 25:06Speaker 1: like a little flying machine. Yes, okay. And what was
- 25:08Speaker 1: the billboard text me? You'll know the text ed yes already.
- 25:11Speaker 1: So the episode kicks off with the kids watching the
- 25:13Speaker 1: promo for tic Tac toe x VO. By the way,
- 25:16Speaker 1: we should just give a quick shout out there is
- 25:18Speaker 1: an opportunity to put my film buff hat on. The
- 25:20Speaker 1: Squirt and the Whale is a reference to a movie
- 25:24Speaker 1: called The Squid and the Whale. It was written directed
- 25:27Speaker 1: by a fellow named Noah Baumbach, who is sort of
- 25:31Speaker 1: like he's what I like call mainstream independent. He's made
- 25:35Speaker 1: a lot of movies with a lot of movie stars.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Jeff Daniels Nney. I love Laura Lnney. She's great from
- 25:41Speaker 1: trimok and early role for Jesse Eisenberg and yeah, kind
- 25:46Speaker 1: of a unpleasant to watch family drama about a bunch
- 25:51Speaker 1: of egotistical and deluded people. It's a looking dream Bert
- 25:57Speaker 1: Noah bumbag's doing well for himself, married Greg Girwick co Barbie.
- 26:01Speaker 1: He's probably lighting cubans of gars with one hundred dollar bills.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Good for him. Yeah, props to that guy. But squirt
- 26:07Speaker 1: in the while based on that. But the kids are
- 26:09Speaker 1: watching the promo for XBO starting Romeo and Julie x
- 26:13Speaker 1: Tic tach New. By the way, I'm sorry you've got
- 26:15Speaker 1: Laura Linne's page up. Is Laura Linny's whole name? Laura
- 26:17Speaker 1: Leggett Lenny It is? Yeah, good Leggot's name, just name,
- 26:22Speaker 1: isn't it? Nice? Picture? Laura can have whatever name she wants. Marry.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I remember when I watched Love Actually for the first time,
- 26:29Speaker 1: and I think she had a chef and it changed
- 26:31Speaker 1: my life forever. Oh that's right, And then she had
- 26:35Speaker 1: to go look after a brother or something. Yeah, couldn't
- 26:37Speaker 1: hook up with that hot Spannah guy. Yeah, he just
- 26:40Speaker 1: feels so sorry for her. Damn. Yeah. Nothing gets him
- 26:44Speaker 1: more in that movie than what's his name? Alan cheating
- 26:47Speaker 1: on Thompson. Thompson, You're like, what are you doing? Yeah, man,
- 26:50Speaker 1: what are you doing? A? Yeah? That German Chick's bad news,
- 26:55Speaker 1: see his bad news indeed. But Homer he unplugs everything
- 26:57Speaker 1: because he's sick of the power bills. Like this, this
- 27:00Speaker 1: doesn't feel like it fits the Homer character. He wouldn't
- 27:02Speaker 1: care about the power. Like this should be the Marge
- 27:05Speaker 1: doing this again. It's so Yeah, a lot of weird
- 27:08Speaker 1: stuff in this character wise, and also just little bits
- 27:11Speaker 1: and people. Yeah, but this whole thing and it must
- 27:13Speaker 1: have met. It did have one good side gag where
- 27:15Speaker 1: the projectors how long has there been on? Yeah? I
- 27:17Speaker 1: was just like, what's the point of that? But yeah, fine,
- 27:19Speaker 1: I thought that was kind of yeah, yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 27:21Speaker 1: But they just feels like that should be the Margine.
- 27:23Speaker 1: We're wasting home. I should be watching it with them.
- 27:25Speaker 1: We're wasting power. We don't need power, Marge. Yeah, correct,
- 27:29Speaker 1: it's electricity. It's always there, Like he should be done
- 27:33Speaker 1: like the kids, you know, what do you mean to
- 27:34Speaker 1: pay for the power? It should be you wake at
- 27:36Speaker 1: a power plant. Yes, we initially we just did an
- 27:39Speaker 1: episode of Speaking the Hill where Bobby has no idea
- 27:42Speaker 1: of the value of money. Homer should be like that.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's like drizzly there, you got to pay your power bill.
- 27:48Speaker 1: But you know, one of those magical animals kind of
- 27:50Speaker 1: correct correct correct, correct. But then they decide, well, oh
- 27:53Speaker 1: well no, Lisa points out, oh, there's an energy XPO
- 27:56Speaker 1: one or something like it. But changed changes to your
- 27:58Speaker 1: lifestyle can be difficult. Yea, indeed, but like okay, well
- 28:01Speaker 1: let's go do this thing which is apparently on at night,
- 28:05Speaker 1: and let's get in the car and leave. Yeah. Again,
- 28:07Speaker 1: opportunity for another opportunity for a side gag, which I
- 28:10Speaker 1: think is we better make sure that everyone knows we're home,
- 28:13Speaker 1: turn on the Christmas lights. But there's a little bit
- 28:16Speaker 1: where they're all getting in the car and you just
- 28:17Speaker 1: hear mar saying, come on, get in the car. Got
- 28:19Speaker 1: to this this? Why put a line there or just
- 28:24Speaker 1: cut this out? Yeah? Why is she just sort of
- 28:27Speaker 1: saying stuff to fill dead air? And if she is
- 28:29Speaker 1: saying stuff to fill there there, make it a joke.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Or you haven't run to the car and have Bart
- 28:34Speaker 1: say why the Christmas lights stup? It's July and say
- 28:36Speaker 1: oh something stupid exactly right, But then it cuts the
- 28:40Speaker 1: snake saying, Oh, I can't wait to poop on their carpet.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I'm like, who wrote that? What are we even doing?
- 28:46Speaker 1: As we like to say these days, what are we
- 28:49Speaker 1: even doing? What do you mean to put their carpet? Yeah,
- 28:53Speaker 1: I don't think even kids would find that funny. It's
- 28:56Speaker 1: what what do you mean? What? What since? What a
- 28:59Speaker 1: sneak pool called carpets? Why is he again? This joke
- 29:04Speaker 1: is not a snake line. No, I'm gonna lost. Let's
- 29:08Speaker 1: move on, Let's get to the XPO. Is there with
- 29:12Speaker 1: his one sign having a silent protest. Even once we
- 29:14Speaker 1: get to the expole, it's kind of like, what's the
- 29:16Speaker 1: point of some of these gags? The whole Burnt Power
- 29:18Speaker 1: thing I thought was just lame, the bist fight between
- 29:20Speaker 1: the two guys, Wigham's kid power. I'm sorry, we have
- 29:24Speaker 1: to go back to Guy's favorite episode of all time,
- 29:26Speaker 1: Last Temptation of Homer. I was gonna be that exact thing.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So this thing really works out? Sure it does. Good
- 29:34Speaker 1: luck the tire use us and no one gets hurt. Sorry,
- 29:41Speaker 1: that's fucking hilarious. But also, you know Homer and Mindy,
- 29:47Speaker 1: you know, pushing nuclear and everyone's walking bar just having
- 29:50Speaker 1: goes out him gead bad no got out what Homer
- 29:56Speaker 1: throws knocks it out, and then he just got this
- 29:58Speaker 1: big smote good about himself. There, let's talk about last
- 30:01Speaker 1: intention of Homer. I suppose this shit. I see that
- 30:03Speaker 1: that was a means to an end. So this happens
- 30:05Speaker 1: for no real I know, it sets up them getting
- 30:08Speaker 1: the wind milk. But the storm doesn't happen because they've
- 30:10Speaker 1: got a wind milk. That's the problem. So this it's not,
- 30:14Speaker 1: it's not, this happens, and therefore this happens like tray
- 30:16Speaker 1: Matt will do. It's this happens, and then this happens,
- 30:18Speaker 1: and then there's a storm and then the wagons like
- 30:21Speaker 1: so what was the point of anything that came before it? Right?
- 30:23Speaker 1: Just remember, folks, therefore and but there are two words.
- 30:26Speaker 1: You want the storage and in the latentation of Homer,
- 30:29Speaker 1: they are at the expo. The whole point of that
- 30:31Speaker 1: is because now Homer is away with Mindy. Correct, that
- 30:33Speaker 1: was the reason for them to be alone. There's a
- 30:35Speaker 1: reason for the expo. Correct. Correct. But he's the guy
- 30:39Speaker 1: says solar panel. It's a bright idea. Yes, still was
- 30:42Speaker 1: getting a real job and I'm like, man, I've fallen
- 30:45Speaker 1: a long way. We've fallen a long way from lastentation
- 30:47Speaker 1: of Homer. Lisa has then found what he's looking for.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Sure that I can eat in the shower. Have you
- 30:53Speaker 1: ever eaten in the shower? I don't think I've ever
- 30:54Speaker 1: eaten in the shower. No, I have drunk beers in
- 30:57Speaker 1: the shower. It's fucking amazing. Oh yeah, oh god, there's
- 30:59Speaker 1: nothing better cold be a hot shower, yeah, warm shower,
- 31:05Speaker 1: cold beer, a hot day, yeah yeah yeah. But they're
- 31:09Speaker 1: not eating in the shower. What would be the best
- 31:11Speaker 1: thing to eat if you have to eat in the shower?
- 31:13Speaker 1: So I said to you your ideal shower meal? What
- 31:16Speaker 1: is it? What's the medal you need? Maybe a chocolate
- 31:19Speaker 1: bar because like can of chips, I'll go soggy. An
- 31:22Speaker 1: apple ship they can get possibly, yeah, okay, maybe an apple,
- 31:25Speaker 1: but that would preclude me. I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm
- 31:27Speaker 1: being practical. I know, yeah, I appreciate that. I can't
- 31:30Speaker 1: think of anything. No, you don't. Nothing tastes better when
- 31:33Speaker 1: it's been food wise, when it's been wet. But then
- 31:38Speaker 1: the guy brings up he's trying to sell solid panel
- 31:40Speaker 1: to Homer, get tax credits. You write itself off from
- 31:43Speaker 1: twelve to eighteen lifetimes and you won't regret it. I'm
- 31:46Speaker 1: starting to already too bad. Lass has already got the
- 31:48Speaker 1: twine out. Then Homer says, I got it pretty good.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I want my ward for audiobook narration whatever whatever we
- 31:56Speaker 1: mentioned our guys, that's all couples and strays. Yeah, were
- 32:00Speaker 1: we just stupider twenty years ago? Like it just feels like,
- 32:02Speaker 1: you know, we just did South Park where they mocked
- 32:04Speaker 1: out Gore, and I feel the Simpsons never really mocked
- 32:06Speaker 1: out uninformed perhaps uninformed. Yeah, it was just easy. It
- 32:11Speaker 1: feels like we're more stupid now, it does. Yes, But
- 32:13Speaker 1: then we see this, So they've set up the whatever
- 32:15Speaker 1: it is need to be set out the soul panels
- 32:17Speaker 1: and whatnot, and Marge points out the energy meter is
- 32:19Speaker 1: going backwards something things, he's going back in time, the
- 32:21Speaker 1: wind turbine. But it turns out they're just providing power
- 32:23Speaker 1: to the electricity company. So he calls them and rants
- 32:25Speaker 1: at them. Lenny's working out apparently, Why Leny's working there?
- 32:28Speaker 1: He wasn't a power plant again? Why is Lenny there?
- 32:30Speaker 1: Why are these write a line assign it to a character. Yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: just to have wise guy there. Wise, guys going, the
- 32:39Speaker 1: guy who's meant to be working everywhere. Why the fuck
- 32:42Speaker 1: is Lenny working there? Give us a reason? Why a
- 32:44Speaker 1: job about the power plant? You see him later associated
- 32:48Speaker 1: with the power plant? Why is he? What? What? I
- 32:51Speaker 1: don't like? Man, God, it's just stupid, stupid. So he
- 32:55Speaker 1: councels the account. The Simpsons are off the grid. So
- 32:57Speaker 1: far it's going great, and it's time for the big
- 32:59Speaker 1: game and the color over there to watch the game.
- 33:01Speaker 1: And then there's no windowside, so the windmill stops and
- 33:04Speaker 1: the parent the TV powers down? Who turned off the wind?
- 33:09Speaker 3: Dad?
- 33:09Speaker 1: If we're really off the grid, then we won't get
- 33:12Speaker 1: power when the air is still well.
- 33:15Speaker 3: I'm not crawling back to big electricity from now on.
- 33:19Speaker 3: The symptoms are living intermittently.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I've written it. I'm wondering if this is how sustainable
- 33:27Speaker 1: energy actually really works, because this feels like a really
- 33:29Speaker 1: bad faith argument. It should be storing energy, as you
- 33:32Speaker 1: know how you're here. Sometimes people, it's the really dumb
- 33:36Speaker 1: argument against solar or wind that's sunder and shown all
- 33:39Speaker 1: the time. Sometimes it's not winding storing. I'm pretty sure
- 33:43Speaker 1: that you know when it's working. Its story energy. It's
- 33:46Speaker 1: not just it's not like an actual windmill, because that
- 33:49Speaker 1: winmill was going right. It didn't stop when the TV
- 33:51Speaker 1: was off. It was generating power when the TV was off.
- 33:55Speaker 1: For you, when you want to turn the TV on,
- 33:57Speaker 1: you start eating into the power that you've stored. Correct,
- 34:00Speaker 1: just doesn't make sense. It always was like this was
- 34:04Speaker 1: done by some anti green energy kind of it. I
- 34:07Speaker 1: suspect the big energy is behind this again, who cares?
- 34:12Speaker 1: That's that's the man who cares. So the jumping case
- 34:15Speaker 1: goes up and down, we have them playing the z
- 34:18Speaker 1: they fight over it. Then the garage doors going up
- 34:20Speaker 1: and down. Marge can't do a makeuprop because the light's
- 34:23Speaker 1: going off. I'm a falling asleep with the buzz saw, like, yeah,
- 34:27Speaker 1: what was even doing? Why was even working on something
- 34:29Speaker 1: like these? I will buy into these when he's there
- 34:32Speaker 1: for a reason, how much just randomly there wouldn't be
- 34:34Speaker 1: funny if a bus or cuts into his head. Yeah,
- 34:36Speaker 1: and I'm sorry that. Yeah that really seeing him seeing
- 34:38Speaker 1: it cut into his head, that was wrong. I just
- 34:41Speaker 1: have it stopped just short or something, I mean, but
- 34:44Speaker 1: having it actually cut into his head. Yeah, and laterally, look,
- 34:49Speaker 1: this is really nitpicky, but having it actually cut into
- 34:51Speaker 1: his head you don't see anything. I mean to be
- 34:53Speaker 1: gross if he did. But later on, you know, you've
- 34:55Speaker 1: got gets hit in the head by a can, gets
- 34:59Speaker 1: blood coming out. Yeah, which gin's up the shark? Yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I shouldn't be too upset
- 35:06Speaker 1: about this, but why no blood in this one? Blood
- 35:08Speaker 1: in that one? I just don't have the problem is
- 35:11Speaker 1: showing the sword going into his head, right, It's like
- 35:14Speaker 1: there was no one ever to save him, so this
- 35:15Speaker 1: thing would have just killed him. Stupid. Yeah, it's stupid.
- 35:19Speaker 1: It doesn't make sense. It's agree that it cuts into
- 35:22Speaker 1: it even if it stopped again, it's like it's in
- 35:25Speaker 1: his head, that's in his brain. Yes, and it has
- 35:27Speaker 1: a transition to the lumpy smoothie and home is my
- 35:29Speaker 1: brain stopped working? And it stops working mid sentence you're like, yeah,
- 35:32Speaker 1: that was your payoff for all? Is that the result
- 35:34Speaker 1: of that? Or is that just home and being I
- 35:36Speaker 1: don't know, let's move on home and then powers the
- 35:38Speaker 1: windmill with actual fans is using plug into Flanders side
- 35:41Speaker 1: and this week, at the Flanners moment, that I was
- 35:42Speaker 1: ranted about earlier, and he says, the meeting of the
- 35:45Speaker 1: fan club has been adjourned. We haven't had our monthly
- 35:47Speaker 1: meeting or whatever, and then Yeah, pulls them all out.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Used to be a lot nicer and that's the end
- 35:51Speaker 1: of Flanders. And I was like, man, you guys just
- 35:53Speaker 1: don't like you just don't know what to do with
- 35:55Speaker 1: the characters anymore. You just don't. I think also to
- 36:00Speaker 1: it feels like it doesn't really feel there's a writer's
- 36:02Speaker 1: room at the Simpsons at this point. I feel like
- 36:03Speaker 1: every episode sort of written by different people, but it
- 36:05Speaker 1: doesn't feel like there's a writer's room like it feels
- 36:08Speaker 1: like in the mid nineties that was there was a
- 36:10Speaker 1: writer's room. Yes, and they all worked and they bounce
- 36:12Speaker 1: ideas of each other and they said, no, we can't
- 36:14Speaker 1: do that because of this, and they all work together.
- 36:16Speaker 1: This just feels like a bunch of people assigned to
- 36:18Speaker 1: do Simpsons episodes. You do you you It's like you
- 36:21Speaker 1: know the new Star Wars movies, JJ, you do that one, Ryan,
- 36:24Speaker 1: you do that one, and we'll just you know, we'll
- 36:25Speaker 1: see how they go together. That went w that worked out? Uh,
- 36:33Speaker 1: then we have but spinning it himself. He's up on
- 36:36Speaker 1: the top of trying to make the windmill move. Un least,
- 36:38Speaker 1: he's trying to hear doctor House's third incorrect diagnosis before
- 36:41Speaker 1: the correct one. Then he makes a deal with God.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I know how the deal was. But God causes a
- 36:47Speaker 1: storm and lots of power and it destroys the town
- 36:50Speaker 1: as a result, and then bartless to go to investigate
- 36:52Speaker 1: the town. There's a wind chime store, which I thought
- 36:54Speaker 1: was quite funny. Then the world's largest dandylion, and then
- 36:59Speaker 1: they go to the beach and there's washed up goggles
- 37:00Speaker 1: and medical waste on the beach. But then they find
- 37:02Speaker 1: the whale, and Lisa can't be believing something so mighty
- 37:05Speaker 1: can be read. It's so powerless. And then but okay,
- 37:08Speaker 1: my birthday on here falls into the blowhole, gets blown
- 37:11Speaker 1: back out, and Lisa says, I'll call you Blowala the whale,
- 37:15Speaker 1: and bart says, oh you met the world be his
- 37:17Speaker 1: armpit funt and it goes down and blows him a
- 37:20Speaker 1: way apparently, and he's like, you just made a powerful enemy.
- 37:23Speaker 1: What is happening? I don't know, but something I wrote
- 37:25Speaker 1: here good like getting laughs out of a beached whale.
- 37:30Speaker 1: It is. It is really one of the saddest spectacles because,
- 37:33Speaker 1: oh mate, it's true. Something so mighty is so powerless. Absolutely, yeah, yeah.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I watched the trailer and up for a movie called
- 37:39Speaker 1: Whale Fall. Have you heard about this? Whale Fall? Yes?
- 37:42Speaker 1: Have you seen this? Have you heard about this? It's
- 37:45Speaker 1: actually pretty some whaleful. It's a pretty wild concept, which
- 37:49Speaker 1: is apparently not I don't know if it's based on
- 37:51Speaker 1: true story, but I think the guy who wrote it
- 37:53Speaker 1: did his research is the guy scuba diving. There's big whale.
- 37:58Speaker 1: The whale is like trying to eat an octopal or something,
- 38:00Speaker 1: and the dude gets tangled up in the octopus, so
- 38:02Speaker 1: he ends up inside the whale. The whale is so
- 38:05Speaker 1: big that you know he's not the CGI are real. Well,
- 38:09Speaker 1: it's a it's a live action movie. It's a live
- 38:11Speaker 1: actually I imagine a lot of c G Yeah, yeah,
- 38:14Speaker 1: I mean it's like animated. Yeah, but he's got like
- 38:16Speaker 1: an hour to figure out how do I get out
- 38:18Speaker 1: of this way before my oxygen runs out. I'm like,
- 38:22Speaker 1: it's pretty neat concepts. An escape room pretty much exact.
- 38:26Speaker 1: The room is a whale. I can't believe they haven't
- 38:28Speaker 1: just made like an escape room franchise already? Well, they's
- 38:31Speaker 1: made they made two of them, they escape room movies. Yeah,
- 38:34Speaker 1: it's a movie called Escape Room, and there's another one
- 38:36Speaker 1: called Escape Room two something, Escape Room the sequel, Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 1: escape again. Yeah. I think they're like PG thirteen horror movies.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I have not seen them. Okay, I still want to do.
- 38:47Speaker 1: I feel like I'd love to make an escape room,
- 38:49Speaker 1: like just make one. Buy a shitty property, do it
- 38:53Speaker 1: up a little bit, and it just hosts are Jigsaw?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Are you confessing to me that your Jigsaw? Right a
- 38:58Speaker 1: little bit? Okay, I think cool a little bit. I'm
- 39:02Speaker 1: a little bit of a serial you'd like to pleat
- 39:03Speaker 1: agree interesting to be a lot of fun, but then
- 39:06Speaker 1: murdering people? Yeah? Sure, so creating my note He says,
- 39:09Speaker 1: so is Bart now Millhouse and that he's just stupid
- 39:11Speaker 1: to get him into super situations or is he just
- 39:13Speaker 1: a mini Homer? Either way, I can't see how kids
- 39:15Speaker 1: will relate to this version of Butt, or maybe they
- 39:17Speaker 1: think he's funny because it just shit keeps happening to him.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Like what is the point of this version of Bart?
- 39:21Speaker 1: I have no idea. No, I just found he's an idiot. Yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 1: he's just irritating. He's just irritating. He's an idiot, he's
- 39:25Speaker 1: mean spirited, he's an idiot, he's just he's literally Minnie Homer.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Lisa then begs the bullies to help her with the
- 39:31Speaker 1: whale and whereas the well when my mum moved out?
- 39:34Speaker 1: And then she says they're sensitive intelligent and they call
- 39:36Speaker 1: it a nerd at least and then cust to them
- 39:38Speaker 1: at least helping. But this is where I thought, Okay,
- 39:40Speaker 1: the towns people are going to start getting involved here
- 39:42Speaker 1: and start trying to help out. Then Kenney asks Millhouse
- 39:45Speaker 1: if you want to learn more about whaling any whales
- 39:47Speaker 1: on amails on him. He says, don't woman, knock it
- 39:50Speaker 1: off because I was too afraid to answer. Never tell
- 39:51Speaker 1: a bully you're afraid, So he hits him again. Then
- 39:54Speaker 1: Marge's annoyed that her wedding china has ruined, and Hammer says,
- 39:56Speaker 1: we able to eat our Thanksgiving dinner off regular place
- 39:58Speaker 1: like animals. Lisa for their help. Homer gets the tool
- 40:02Speaker 1: bells out doesn't fit him anymore. Go nowhere? What is
- 40:07Speaker 1: made for French supermodels goes nowhere that's not even a
- 40:09Speaker 1: funny line. Marge then asked to talk to Homer for
- 40:15Speaker 1: a minute without Lisa, and he tells Lisa to bring
- 40:18Speaker 1: the car around. Haven't you learned from watching mart Drive?
- 40:20Speaker 1: Then Marge says the whales likely will die soon. It
- 40:23Speaker 1: just feels like, why would Margin know this? This feels
- 40:27Speaker 1: like something that like, you know, it should be Professor
- 40:29Speaker 1: Frink or doctor Hibbittt or so who's smart or you know,
- 40:33Speaker 1: Marge not smart, but guests playing a marine biologist get
- 40:37Speaker 1: Richard Drapers in to play Hooper from Jaws. That would
- 40:40Speaker 1: be cool, that would be very cool. But just it
- 40:44Speaker 1: just feels like Margin. Of all the people, Marge's the
- 40:46Speaker 1: one that sot all have. Marge say, I watched this
- 40:49Speaker 1: on TV one time, you and I think she actually
- 40:51Speaker 1: says it usually doesn't end Well yeah, yeah, I mean
- 40:54Speaker 1: what I think my theory is if Marge though knows this,
- 40:58Speaker 1: then I feel like Lisa would know it. Mm hmm.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Well that's when you use your writer's ingenuity to sort
- 41:05Speaker 1: of say, look, Lisa is smart, but Lisa is also
- 41:09Speaker 1: a child, and she has a child's emotional register, you know,
- 41:12Speaker 1: and she's gonna like, oh, this whale is beautiful. We
- 41:15Speaker 1: must we must be able to save it. You know,
- 41:18Speaker 1: she can't quite wrap her emotional gears around that. Yeah,
- 41:21Speaker 1: we can't let Lisa get her hopes.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Up your heart?
- 41:25Speaker 1: Can it be?
- 41:26Speaker 3: We're just rolling it into the ocean from the beach.
- 41:28Speaker 3: It's not like it's stuck in the bottom of a
- 41:30Speaker 3: well or in a Mexican prison. But there would make
- 41:34Speaker 3: a great movie, cool hand fluke.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Lisa is very sensitive if something she loves dies.
- 41:43Speaker 2: In front of her.
- 41:44Speaker 3: That well, it's not gonna die. We're busting them out
- 41:47Speaker 3: of prison, no matter what you say, Eskabar, God distinct
- 41:50Speaker 3: rights itself coming.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Then the town's strongest men are trying to roll it
- 41:56Speaker 1: into the water. It doesn't work. We've got a better
- 41:57Speaker 1: idea of find the town's smartest man. And that's where
- 41:59Speaker 1: wouldn't about earlier hard to believe anyone in that contest
- 42:02Speaker 1: could be considered smart. And I'm like, no, No, they're
- 42:04Speaker 1: smart people there, but they're doing dumb stuff. And it's
- 42:07Speaker 1: not a fold of the characters. It's the fault of
- 42:09Speaker 1: the people creating the characters. Yep. Then they try pulling
- 42:12Speaker 1: it with the boats, but they all break and sink
- 42:14Speaker 1: and Margin asked Lisa to come home for tea, but
- 42:16Speaker 1: she's not ready yet. She wants to read some poetry
- 42:18Speaker 1: at night to Bluella, and it's Leaves of Grass by
- 42:21Speaker 1: Walt Whitman. Then Lisa, we think, wakes up to Operation
- 42:25Speaker 1: Desert Ocean, dragging blueler back out into the ocean or
- 42:28Speaker 1: carrying it and dropping her out there. She jumps for joy.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Lisa is happy. Then she jumps into the stars. You're like, oh,
- 42:33Speaker 1: and things are getting a little fanciful. And then Lisa
- 42:36Speaker 1: wakes up and turns out she's dead. I thought that
- 42:38Speaker 1: moment there was handled really well. Yes, but it's just
- 42:41Speaker 1: a shame that everything around it. It's just like there
- 42:45Speaker 1: wasn't enough time for us to emotionally invest in Bluella.
- 42:49Speaker 1: We need to find Bluella. In the first I reckon
- 42:51Speaker 1: three minutes of the episode and have a good portion
- 42:54Speaker 1: of the first act. Lisa's relationship with this whale. Yeah,
- 42:57Speaker 1: or do you know I have this Simpsons are going
- 42:59Speaker 1: to the sea side or something like that. Oh wow, whales,
- 43:02Speaker 1: we never see those in this part of the world.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Lisa openems about how beautiful they are, et cetera, cetera. Cetera.
- 43:07Speaker 1: The kids at school all saying, my new hero is
- 43:11Speaker 1: Blueller the Whale, And then like people are wearing like
- 43:13Speaker 1: Blueller shirts and things like that, and they're, hey, bring
- 43:16Speaker 1: us bring a sea captain in there. Maybe you can
- 43:18Speaker 1: have this bit of a dark sort of b plot.
- 43:20Speaker 1: But they're trying to monetize Blueller rather than help at her.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Than monetizing her, come see Blueller the Whale and have
- 43:28Speaker 1: Quimby cashing in, have everyone cashing Everyone's wearing a Blueller
- 43:31Speaker 1: shirt and yeah, just something you invest have us invest
- 43:36Speaker 1: in this, in this whale, you know. But instead it's
- 43:39Speaker 1: just she's in there for maybe two or three scenes,
- 43:41Speaker 1: and I feel like they need to build up to
- 43:44Speaker 1: make this feel even more emotional. I feel as a
- 43:47Speaker 1: viewer we need to believe, oh, she probably will make
- 43:49Speaker 1: it and then the reality of no, they don't usually
- 43:52Speaker 1: make it. Like, have us the viewer be like Lisa
- 43:55Speaker 1: and go, oh she is going to make it. Oh
- 43:56Speaker 1: fuck she died? Oh shit, it would hit harder. Then
- 44:02Speaker 1: homer Is says, she don't worry Lisa, She's lying on
- 44:05Speaker 1: God's beach. Oh God, I hate this bit as well.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Lisa says, you're wrong, You know she doesn't like laying
- 44:10Speaker 1: a beach. She wants to be in the water. Homer
- 44:11Speaker 1: says that, you know, I'm just it's hard to learn.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I'm not perfect. It hard to learn your father's not perfect.
- 44:15Speaker 1: But says something on the lines of you you got
- 44:17Speaker 1: that right, dad, and he says, I'm trying to be
- 44:19Speaker 1: a sensitive father. You unwanted it more on. There's it's
- 44:25Speaker 1: between cruel, which that line is, and it's off put
- 44:30Speaker 1: humorously exasperated. It's off putting. Yeah, oh yeah, very much.
- 44:32Speaker 1: So you unwanted more on uncalled for. Lisa asks to
- 44:37Speaker 1: be alone. Homer leaves and he walks out and says
- 44:39Speaker 1: to the cat, it kills me to see her like that.
- 44:40Speaker 1: And there's one thing I can't stand. It's being killed
- 44:42Speaker 1: because Home is an idiot. But Milhouse then go to
- 44:45Speaker 1: poke the cops with a stick, and the police are
- 44:47Speaker 1: there and they blow up or a bit of a
- 44:51Speaker 1: She sort of like rolls to the side like you
- 44:52Speaker 1: don't actually see a chunk of her, and all a sudden,
- 44:55Speaker 1: chunks just start falling from everywhere, and I was like,
- 44:56Speaker 1: what landing on people and whatnot? And they utilize her
- 45:00Speaker 1: corpse that make perfect out of it blowhole Republic makes
- 45:03Speaker 1: whalebone corsets, which gets the William shatnegay, which I thought
- 45:06Speaker 1: it was quite funny. And Homo has got Lisa a
- 45:08Speaker 1: pet that can't die and a visible dog leash, and
- 45:11Speaker 1: he said, I know the dog's doing business on the rug.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Then Lisa thinks she hears blueler because she's walking around town,
- 45:15Speaker 1: but it's Moe cleaning. He's fixing his door. Just every
- 45:18Speaker 1: sound she hears is, yeah, reminds me of Martin getting
- 45:21Speaker 1: his wedgie, the mine with the blue all like this.
- 45:23Speaker 1: So the mind makes the balloon of the whale and
- 45:25Speaker 1: it blows up. I thought that's a nice little And
- 45:27Speaker 1: then he makes the violin play a sad song for it,
- 45:30Speaker 1: and she hears the sound again and turns out it
- 45:32Speaker 1: is Blueeller's children. A quick assumption by Lisa. Yeah, maybe
- 45:37Speaker 1: these world are unrelated. Yes, And then she sees them
- 45:40Speaker 1: just convening for the story all of a sudden. That's
- 45:42Speaker 1: when the shark starts surrounding them as Lisa arrives. Then
- 45:45Speaker 1: she concedes after commercial its Nature's way and Homos's mother
- 45:48Speaker 1: nature is a toothless hag, and he's got a boat
- 45:50Speaker 1: he's rending it from not ready, he's just borrowing it,
- 45:52Speaker 1: testing it out from the boat store. He tries to
- 45:54Speaker 1: harpoon the sharks. But yeah, see, now this is an
- 45:58Speaker 1: opportunity for Homer actually sort of step up do the
- 46:02Speaker 1: right thing, as I mean, you have him say no,
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'm here to help, as opposed to oh, it's just
- 46:07Speaker 1: a coincidents. I'm here, I'm testing this boat, you know,
- 46:10Speaker 1: step up with your order. Yeah, just he should be
- 46:12Speaker 1: there because he wants to be there. She leaves, maybe
- 46:16Speaker 1: he says something that upsets her, and she I've never
- 46:17Speaker 1: seen this before, but she runs out of home crying,
- 46:20Speaker 1: and Lisa's walking around sad, and it's saying, Lisa, I
- 46:24Speaker 1: didn't mean it, Lisa, and then he he also hears
- 46:27Speaker 1: bueller and they both run to the beach together and
- 46:30Speaker 1: like hey, hey, hey, honey. He's like, it's the way
- 46:32Speaker 1: he wears. What can we do. Let's work as a
- 46:34Speaker 1: team and try and save them. Ye, watch up on
- 46:37Speaker 1: his book, because I knew you were going to be here.
- 46:38Speaker 1: And if you need to be if you need home
- 46:40Speaker 1: and to be a dumbers then or you know, a
- 46:43Speaker 1: sort of semi belligerent jerk moleman is fishing in a
- 46:48Speaker 1: little boat. Homer goes, grabs him by the scuff of
- 46:51Speaker 1: the neck, throws it out, steals his boat. You could
- 46:53Speaker 1: have him say you can use my boat, little girl,
- 46:55Speaker 1: and I was like, go the way, oh man, he
- 46:57Speaker 1: throws him in the water and steals it. Yeah, but dad,
- 46:59Speaker 1: he's gonna give us the boat. Yes, something like that exactly.
- 47:03Speaker 1: The sea huggers then arrive to protect the sharks. You know,
- 47:06Speaker 1: forty million sharks are killed each year for fins. I mean,
- 47:08Speaker 1: I believe this sharks should be protected as well.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Sure, typical eco jerks using words to chuck.
- 47:22Speaker 1: They're right, it's the only way to save the whales
- 47:24Speaker 1: used to kill another innocent creature.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I can't let you do it, sharks innocent.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Please.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Every year they kill a couple of people who do
- 47:33Speaker 3: a series of stupid things.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Not necessarily stupid things, but I think you know, you buy,
- 47:37Speaker 1: you buy your ticket, You take the right a lot
- 47:39Speaker 1: a lot of the time. You read them though it's
- 47:41Speaker 1: like they shouldn't have been swimming there, or it's like
- 47:43Speaker 1: known for to be infested with sharks, and you're like anyway,
- 47:47Speaker 1: in horrible people get taped by sharks not saying that,
- 47:49Speaker 1: but yeah, but they give him the bucket to either
- 47:51Speaker 1: make the sharks go away, although eating quicker hits him
- 47:53Speaker 1: in the head he bleeds. Then the father whales ran
- 47:56Speaker 1: Waldess ran, where's he been? Yeah, by the way, they'd
- 47:59Speaker 1: be dead, rocks up and saves the day, saves Homer,
- 48:02Speaker 1: and Lisa thanks him for not letting her. Thinks I'm
- 48:04Speaker 1: letting her give up, and so I would do anything
- 48:06Speaker 1: for a sweet intelligent mammal, which is what I'm by
- 48:09Speaker 1: which I'm referring to you, And Homer says He'll be fine. Now,
- 48:13Speaker 1: I'll be moving in with a sexy octopus in no time.
- 48:15Speaker 1: I have a whale puss on the way, and Marches
- 48:17Speaker 1: will draw those pictures of what he just said, which
- 48:21Speaker 1: is really just an excuse to have pictures over the
- 48:23Speaker 1: closing credits. Which didn't mind the photos of the credits.
- 48:26Speaker 1: I like the fiftieth Adiverse. I was like, Oh, that's
- 48:27Speaker 1: that's a honorable I found new love and they lasted forever.
- 48:31Speaker 1: That's kind of nice. It's like, yeah, Donkey and Dragon, Yeah, yeah,
- 48:34Speaker 1: they stuck with that. Like that shit just worked. I
- 48:38Speaker 1: liked it. In number two, he was like oh, she
- 48:39Speaker 1: was bringing me down. Man, she's emotional and this, that
- 48:41Speaker 1: and the other, because basically they for the sake of
- 48:44Speaker 1: the story, they couldn't have the dragon in Shrek too,
- 48:47Speaker 1: so it wouldn't she wouldn't work in this far, far
- 48:50Speaker 1: away land. But then at the end he realized she's
- 48:52Speaker 1: pregnant with little me. Donkey's like, oh shit, flying donkeys
- 48:55Speaker 1: now it's a real flying donkey. And yeah, but that's
- 48:59Speaker 1: the end of the episode to say. Actually, although if
- 49:01Speaker 1: you wait around to the end of the great what
- 49:03Speaker 1: I didn't do during the last King of the Hill,
- 49:05Speaker 1: listen for that if you're a patron, or become a
- 49:07Speaker 1: patron and listen to it instead of the in the
- 49:12Speaker 1: Gracie logo you get. That's a who song, by the way,
- 49:15Speaker 1: a whal song. Yeah. No, Indeed, what do we learn, Bomber,
- 49:20Speaker 1: What did you learn from the episode of mister Davis
- 49:22Speaker 1: to heck with sustainable energy? I'm just gonna go with
- 49:25Speaker 1: good old coal, I think, okay, fair enough, I learned
- 49:28Speaker 1: to heck with sustainable gag Tritten for characters know what
- 49:33Speaker 1: they're doing anymore. Indeed, indeed, from miss day forward, your
- 49:37Speaker 1: name will be it is time for the Guy Davis

- 49:48Speaker 1: on fifteen points, and in third position Mike Salter on twelve.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Take it away, sir r Oh. One point goes to
- 49:54Speaker 1: gone with the wind Mill, that is Nathan Briggs. Brigsy
- 49:59Speaker 1: on one point, so sorted, Briggsy well done. Two points
- 50:03Speaker 1: goes to wind in the Whalos. Wind in the Whalos.
- 50:07Speaker 1: That one would be Adam Woolhouse Well Adam. That puts
- 50:10Speaker 1: him now on twelve points as well. He's equal third
- 50:13Speaker 1: with Mike Salter Willy Bully alone, and three points goes
- 50:18Speaker 1: to oh blubber where art thou Well, that's Mike Salter,
- 50:23Speaker 1: which means he's now equal second with Clever cocas Nathan Briggs.
- 50:27Speaker 1: And actually so it's changed. Nathan Briggs is on sixteen
- 50:29Speaker 1: points now, so he's outright second, Clever Kyle and Mike
- 50:33Speaker 1: Salter and now outright I joined third on fifteen points,
- 50:36Speaker 1: so they're getting slowly closer to Phil. Still a little
