Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven, Sonny and sixty
- 0:03Speaker 1: seven Today should be an excellent way to start your
- 0:06Speaker 1: work week.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Here, Gabe, I was.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Wondering if you have a favorite Disney villain, because I
- 0:12Speaker 3: want to see if you line up with the entire
- 0:15Speaker 3: state of North Dakota on.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Who the favorite villain is.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Oh, do you know who it is? Yeah?
- 0:20Speaker 2: I do, But who's your favorite villain?
- 0:22Speaker 4: My favorite villain?
- 0:23Speaker 1: All right, this might be a little I doubt this
- 0:25Speaker 1: is the answer for North Dakota. But there's a specific
- 0:28Speaker 1: reason why Captain Hook from Peter Pan is my favorite villain.
- 0:33Speaker 4: You know, when you're a parent and.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You're trying to discipline or you know, talk to your
- 0:37Speaker 1: kid about something, Yeah, and they're just laughing in your face.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Actually, something so funny to me about Captain Hook when
- 0:45Speaker 1: I was growing up, that he'd be mad and in
- 0:48Speaker 1: these enraged moments, and I couldn't help but laugh, kind
- 0:50Speaker 1: of like when I was a kid.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Right, this would make me laugh. Good for mister Smith.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Maybe it's just.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Over the top voice, I don't know, but it's so funny.
- 1:08Speaker 2: You're really dying over there.
- 1:12Speaker 4: It just makes me laugh.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Well, no, you're wrong. That is not the favorite villain.
- 1:19Speaker 3: The favorite villain of North Dakota, and I agree with
- 1:23Speaker 3: this is Scar from the Lion King right here, Yes, okay,
- 1:29Speaker 3: and actually for most of the country, Scar is the
- 1:31Speaker 3: favorite Disney villain. Really my hot take on this, but
- 1:35Speaker 3: maybe it's because this is how I feel is that
- 1:38Speaker 3: the reason he's the favorite is because Scar is a daddy.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I think Scar is so hot.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Well, I mean technically is an uncle okay whatever, an
- 1:49Speaker 4: uncle daddy, I don't care.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think Scar is hot.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Listen to his voice alone, is like so fine.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Life's not fair, you see.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I well, I shall never be king, you shall never
- 2:06Speaker 3: see the light of another day.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Oh that does it for you.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I wish I wear that mouse. He's Jeremy Irons does
- 2:14Speaker 3: the voice of Scar. I'm like, you can't have Jeremy
- 2:17Speaker 3: Irons do the voice and not expect people to be
- 2:20Speaker 3: a little.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Bit hot for a Scar.
- 2:22Speaker 3: And I think he's like, he's kind of a bad boy,
- 2:25Speaker 3: he's ambitious, he just wanted to be king and he
- 2:28Speaker 3: did everything he could.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And most importantly, he's got a really cool scar.
- 2:33Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 2:35Speaker 6: Yes, Gabe, can you see what I'm saying, yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 1: He's riety big ninety eight point seven, It's Gabe and Angie,
- 2:43Speaker 1: Sonny and sixty seven to get your week started. You
- 2:49Speaker 1: know what I realized over this weekend was how much
- 2:51Speaker 1: I hate shopping. And there is one thing that is
- 2:55Speaker 1: just a nightmare to shop board. Do you have anything
- 2:58Speaker 1: like that where you're like, oh, gosh, I know I
- 3:00Speaker 1: need to go get this or these and I hate
- 3:03Speaker 1: doing it.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Is there any do you have anything?
- 3:05Speaker 2: You know what, I'm not unique in this.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I think most women can attest bathing suit shopping is
- 3:13Speaker 3: a nice man. Yeah, I can imagine why based on
- 3:18Speaker 3: looking at me?
- 3:18Speaker 2: How dare you? No, I'm kidding.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I was just going on the sheer amount.
- 3:24Speaker 1: So there's like two things you have to buy supposed
- 3:26Speaker 1: that we just buy some like basketball shoppers.
- 3:29Speaker 2: How nice to be a man? No, it's it's nice.
- 3:33Speaker 2: There's so many.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Options and size situations like I'm a lot bigger up
- 3:38Speaker 3: top than I am at the bottom.
- 3:41Speaker 2: What a visual that is?
- 3:42Speaker 4: Looking like Johnny Bravo.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yes, and it's hard.
- 3:49Speaker 3: To you know, a lot of times they sell they
- 3:52Speaker 3: sell swim separates, right, but then sometimes you can't find
- 3:57Speaker 3: the size that it would be good for the bottom
- 3:59Speaker 3: to the top, and it's it's a disase. I don't
- 4:02Speaker 3: have to explain it further. The ladies, No, bathing suit
- 4:05Speaker 3: shopping is a nightmare. What is it that you I
- 4:08Speaker 3: assume it's not bathing suits? What do you hate to
- 4:10Speaker 3: shop for?
- 4:10Speaker 1: Gig can I ask you one question about bathing suits first,
- 4:13Speaker 1: with women shopping for bathing suits, and this is a
- 4:16Speaker 1: genuine question, are there bathing suits that are meant for
- 4:19Speaker 1: ladies to like lay out in and then ones that
- 4:22Speaker 1: are really more like, Oh, I could actually swim in this?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Oh? You know what.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I've never thought of it that way because most of
- 4:29Speaker 3: my bathing suit shopping is just so I can get
- 4:32Speaker 3: a tan.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Sure, yeah, but.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I imagine more fuller coverage is probably better for swimming
- 4:38Speaker 3: so that things aren't popping out.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And falling out.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:41Speaker 1: For me, there's nothing worse than trying to shop for
- 4:43Speaker 1: things for the dog. There are so many different options
- 4:49Speaker 1: and so many brands. And when you read about certain
- 4:52Speaker 1: dog foods or certain this toy or certain that that toy,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and you read about it on the internet, you're the
- 4:57Speaker 1: worst dog parent ever if you give them this, because
- 4:59Speaker 1: they I could choke on it, or if you give
- 5:02Speaker 1: them this food because of whatever's in it. And so
- 5:05Speaker 1: anytime I have to go to do dog shopping, I
- 5:08Speaker 1: do a lot of research and buy a lot of
- 5:11Speaker 1: research quick google. If it's good enough, yeah, you know,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'll grab it if necessary. But there's like it's kind
- 5:18Speaker 1: of sort of similar. You know, there's certain things like
- 5:21Speaker 1: with leashes or harnesses. There's certain sizings and our dogs
- 5:26Speaker 1: never exist. She's like too big but too skinny for
- 5:29Speaker 1: certain things. It's just kind of a nightmare.
- 5:31Speaker 2: That's my same problem I'm too skinny for.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Is there something you hate shopping for?
- 5:36Speaker 1: Let us know this morning at seven oh one two
- 5:37Speaker 1: eight zero one nine eight seven, Ryan, what do you
- 5:40Speaker 1: hate shopping for? Meant?
- 5:42Speaker 4: I hate shopping for shoes, trying them on, walking around
- 5:45Speaker 4: to them, getting the.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Right side, which ones look dumb, which ones make me
- 5:49Speaker 3: look stupid? It's too much to think about.
- 5:51Speaker 4: I mean, they're just shoes.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I hate, Ryan, is right. I I like when I
- 5:55Speaker 1: get new shoes. The process of tracking down the exact
- 6:00Speaker 1: pair you're looking for the exact right size can kind
- 6:03Speaker 1: of be a bit of a hassle.
- 6:04Speaker 4: I do like when I get a new pair kicks.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Though, Oh we're so opposite. I live for the shoe
- 6:09Speaker 3: shopping process really. Oh yeah, I love it. It gets me
- 6:13Speaker 3: like it's like an event. Yes, I got like a
- 6:16Speaker 3: buzz from it.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I'm into it.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eighty seven.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Is there that one item article of clothing? It could
- 6:23Speaker 1: be It doesn't have to be clothing either that you
- 6:25Speaker 1: absolutely hate shopping for. Let us know here at Big
- 6:28Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven, Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It's Gabe and Angie, mostly sunny today with a high
- 6:35Speaker 1: of sixty seven. And is there an item that you
- 6:39Speaker 1: just can't stand shopping for?
- 6:41Speaker 4: You know you need it, you know.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You gotta go get it where you're just like, oh,
- 6:44Speaker 1: so for me anytime there's like dog food or just
- 6:47Speaker 1: stuff for the dog, there's just so many options and
- 6:50Speaker 1: that can make that tough.
- 6:51Speaker 3: So I absolutely hate shopping for a bathing suit.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's the bane of my existence, I think.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven. Bethany,
- 7:01Speaker 1: what do you hate shopping for jeans?
- 7:04Speaker 6: Every brain sizes them differently, and sitting rooms are awful,
- 7:07Speaker 6: and no two parents ever fit the same.
- 7:09Speaker 4: It's it's total nightmare jean shopping.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Oh my god, I amend my answer. Goodbye bathing suits.
- 7:16Speaker 3: It is jeans. Jeans are the hardest to shop for.
- 7:19Speaker 3: She's right about the sizing, yes, because the sizing doesn't
- 7:22Speaker 3: make that Who even came up with the size A man?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Probably? The sizing on jeans is a nightmare.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I wear anywhere from a size six to a size twelve.
- 7:34Speaker 2: That doesn't make any sense.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Do I wear a six or an eight or sometimes
- 7:38Speaker 3: a nine, sometimes eleven, sometimes twelve?
- 7:40Speaker 1: Like it just I hate makes that even work Because
- 7:43Speaker 1: when I go to the genes section, there's like basically
- 7:46Speaker 1: two sizes I would choose from what size is so
- 7:50Speaker 1: realistically I'm like a thirty three, but I don't think
- 7:53Speaker 1: those exactly exist. So sometimes a thirty two or sometimes
- 7:56Speaker 1: a thirty four, and that's it.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 7:58Speaker 3: See and that's your waist size, right, yeah, Okay, so
- 8:02Speaker 3: women's genes, some of them are sized by waste size,
- 8:05Speaker 3: but we've been conditioned with all the other weird sizing
- 8:09Speaker 3: that then by the time it's like, well, this is
- 8:10Speaker 3: just your waist size.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Why don't you know it?
- 8:12Speaker 3: Because none of the other genes have the waist size.
- 8:14Speaker 3: It's confusing.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 8:16Speaker 3: All I know is that I do prefer when my
- 8:19Speaker 3: gene size is the sixth.
- 8:21Speaker 4: It's better than twelve.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yeah, today's variety big ninety eight point seven. It's gave
- 8:27Speaker 1: an Angie, sunny and sixty seven today. If you did
- 8:30Speaker 1: not hear this, Kelly Rippa said she's considering returning to
- 8:34Speaker 1: college to finish her four year psychology degree after she
- 8:39Speaker 1: dropped out to pursue acting.
- 8:42Speaker 4: And now that got.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Me thinking here today, is there something you would love
- 8:47Speaker 1: to go back to college to study? Or was there
- 8:50Speaker 1: something you studied in college or whenever. It doesn't have
- 8:54Speaker 1: to be college, but that you know, up front, it
- 8:57Speaker 1: was kind of pointless, but it was a lot of fun.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I took a disc golf class in college. Once there's
- 9:04Speaker 1: a class for that. Yes, it was, you know, whatever
- 9:06Speaker 1: the gym credit is in college.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Oh okay.
- 9:09Speaker 1: What really helped was I was a pretty good disc golfer.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I had played in like a bunch of tournaments in
- 9:16Speaker 1: high school and stuff like that. So I went to
- 9:18Speaker 1: this class thing and oh, here's an easy A. And
- 9:20Speaker 1: of course if you won the tournament, yeah, at the
- 9:23Speaker 1: end of the course, you got an A.
- 9:26Speaker 3: But you didn't feel like you were good enough to
- 9:29Speaker 3: then enter the big leagues.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Is there big league disc golf?
- 9:32Speaker 1: I don't know, surprisingly there is, yes, But it was
- 9:36Speaker 1: a ton of fun. I mean, it gets you outside
- 9:38Speaker 1: and we got to play and it was it was cool.
- 9:40Speaker 1: But in the long run, you know, probably a little
- 9:43Speaker 1: bit of a waste of money if you can think,
- 9:45Speaker 1: if you can imagine, you know, but.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Look now you're earning the medium dollars on.
- 9:50Speaker 1: The radio seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 9:52Speaker 1: eight seven. Is there a class you would go back
- 9:55Speaker 1: and study? Let us know here this morning. Can you
- 9:57Speaker 1: have Jason on the line. Yeah, I agree.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Education.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I would love to go back and study something more.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Specific, like teaching or accounting.
- 10:06Speaker 4: I'm not sure I have the patience for more years
- 10:08Speaker 4: of college. Though accounting would not be for me. It'd
- 10:10Speaker 4: be tough for me.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Teaching.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I actually when I was in high school, I was
- 10:15Speaker 3: in a special program so that I would earn credits,
- 10:19Speaker 3: earn college credits toward a teaching degree. I went to
- 10:21Speaker 3: college for two years. I majored in education, and then
- 10:25Speaker 3: I realized, I don't know if I can handle these kids.
- 10:32Speaker 1: He's variety big ninety eight point seven it's Gabe and
- 10:34Speaker 1: Angie mostly sunny in sixty seven today.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Do you remember in the movie Up that dog with
- 10:40Speaker 3: the caller that made him talk.
- 10:43Speaker 1: My name is Doug.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I've just met you, and I love you. My master
- 10:48Speaker 4: made me his caller. He is a good smart master,
- 10:51Speaker 4: and he made me his caller so that I may
- 10:53Speaker 4: talk Squirrel. Go everyone remembers squirrel.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yes, well that could be a reality.
- 10:59Speaker 4: There.
- 11:00Speaker 3: There are several AI companies that are working on dog
- 11:03Speaker 3: collars with microphones and speakers that will learn your dog's
- 11:07Speaker 3: vocalizations and then translate them in an app that can
- 11:11Speaker 3: voice it in human language for them. So Squirrel was
- 11:16Speaker 3: that example. But like if your dog is hungry, instead
- 11:19Speaker 3: of just a roof for hungry, it would be like
- 11:22Speaker 3: I'm hungry, master, or however you want to voice it.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Humans are just suckers.
- 11:28Speaker 1: What you're gonna say, Hey, AI found out a way
- 11:31Speaker 1: for you to talk to your dog. They could say
- 11:33Speaker 1: anything in regarding talking to your your pet, and we
- 11:37Speaker 1: will buy it.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Oh, so you would just make up a bunch of quotes, Well,
- 11:41Speaker 5: of course I'd get it. They could just make up
- 11:44Speaker 5: a bunch of quotes why and we would never know
- 11:48Speaker 5: that's true. That's true, But I like that?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Get it?
- 11:51Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 11:51Speaker 3: What would your if you had a caller for your
- 11:54Speaker 3: dog Wanona?
- 11:56Speaker 2: What would like if you could have a celebrity voice?
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 12:00Speaker 2: That part.
- 12:01Speaker 3: If you could have a celebrity voice, do your dog's voice?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Who would you pick?
- 12:07Speaker 4: Oh?
- 12:07Speaker 1: Man, you know what's funny is I don't I can't
- 12:09Speaker 1: remember the lady's name.
- 12:11Speaker 4: But who plays miss McGonagall and Harry Potter?
- 12:17Speaker 2: Oh, Dame Maggie Smith.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Maggie Smith. You're right.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I would like Maggie Smith being the voice of Winona,
- 12:24Speaker 1: mostly because I think it would be funny and it
- 12:25Speaker 1: would make me laugh.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Okay, And I have a guess.
- 12:28Speaker 1: If you could have a voice for one of your pets,
- 12:29Speaker 1: would it be this guy life.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Star from the Lion King?
- 12:37Speaker 2: I want to date my dog?
- 12:39Speaker 1: That's right. Today's Variety Big ninety eight point seven. It
- 12:44Speaker 1: is Gabe and Angie. A nice day on the way
- 12:46Speaker 1: for a sunny and sixty seven here today.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Did you ever have a nickname growing up?
- 12:52Speaker 3: No, nobody ever wanted to give me one.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Oh, you never got something like that, Harry, you never
- 12:57Speaker 4: got one of these.
- 12:58Speaker 3: The Suljean of what King of Crash Colossus of Klow, the.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Great Bambino, the Great Angino.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, can that be my nickname?
- 13:14Speaker 4: That'd be great. I love that. We just came up
- 13:16Speaker 4: with that for you.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Did you have a nickname growing up?
- 13:18Speaker 4: No, sadly, I never got a cool one.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, what sad lives we've been living.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Well, it turns out nicknames for your friends are kind
- 13:28Speaker 1: of going extinct. There's this big giant story on it
- 13:31Speaker 1: and the person who wrote it has five kids. Not
- 13:35Speaker 1: a single one of them have a nickname, Nor do
- 13:38Speaker 1: they have a nickname for any of their friends. Now,
- 13:40Speaker 1: tiny sample size, but I don't have one. You don't
- 13:44Speaker 1: have one. We're oh seven right now?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah that's true.
- 13:46Speaker 3: But you know what, you know where they do have
- 13:48Speaker 3: nicknames in the group chat. So like me and my girlfriends,
- 13:54Speaker 3: any guy we've ever dated, they all have a nickname.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Like I have a guy I dated.
- 13:59Speaker 3: His name is Jonathan, but we refer to him as
- 14:02Speaker 3: the criminal because he stole a pair of sunglasses one time.
- 14:05Speaker 4: It's kind of weird how that does work, doesn't it.
- 14:08Speaker 4: It's sticks?
- 14:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's sticks.
- 14:10Speaker 3: So maybe people do have nicknames, they're just relegated to
- 14:13Speaker 3: the group chat where we're trolling them with dudes.
- 14:15Speaker 1: A lot of times it's just their last name, or
- 14:17Speaker 1: it's like the state they're from.
- 14:20Speaker 6: You know.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Have you ever seen a group of dudes and one
- 14:22Speaker 1: of them's from like Dallas, right, Everyone always calls them texts.
- 14:27Speaker 4: It's weird how that works. But I never had one.
- 14:30Speaker 1: The baseball team for a little bit in high school
- 14:32Speaker 1: kind of gave me one, and they would call me
- 14:34Speaker 1: g Baby for two reasons.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Number one.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Well, actually probably like ten reasons, but number one. My
- 14:40Speaker 1: name starts with a G.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Number two. I was always the smallest guy on the team,
- 14:45Speaker 4: so I was little, and b I had the number one,
- 14:48Speaker 4: so it was literally just after the hardball character.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Oh okay, no, you know what, I think that they
- 14:55Speaker 3: named you Gaby.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Baby because you cry a lot.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that's gotta be it. That's right.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It never stuck, you know. It was just a couple
- 15:02Speaker 1: of the guys on the baseball team and that was
- 15:04Speaker 1: about it. So I've never had a cool nickname. You've
- 15:06Speaker 1: never had a cool nickname, even though the Great Angino
- 15:10Speaker 1: might be sticking here.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I like that me too.
- 15:12Speaker 1: That's the new one, is righty big ninety eight point seven.
- 15:17Speaker 1: It's Gabe and Angie, I might regret these long sleeves today.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It is going to be awesome outside sixty seven and
- 15:23Speaker 1: Sonny to get your work.
- 15:24Speaker 4: We started here and there was something.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I learned today that I think could be of interest
- 15:30Speaker 1: to someone hanging out right now and or a co
- 15:35Speaker 1: host on this very program. There are ten percent of
- 15:41Speaker 1: married couples who are having an age gap of ten
- 15:46Speaker 1: or more plus years. Angie, would you like to describe
- 15:51Speaker 1: your situation going on? I'm gon let you have the
- 15:53Speaker 1: floor here because I want you to be able to
- 15:55Speaker 1: share what you're comfortable with knock going away, So tell
- 15:57Speaker 1: us this story.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Here, please, Well, it's a preface.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Not everybody knows this, even like in my personal life,
- 16:05Speaker 3: not everybody is privy to this information.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So naturally I'm gonna say it on air.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Yeah, if you're listening, don't go tweeting, all right.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Yeah, please don't.
- 16:12Speaker 3: But I am in a relationship with a man who
- 16:16Speaker 3: is twenty two years my senior.
- 16:20Speaker 2: So our age gap?
- 16:21Speaker 3: Why?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Why?
- 16:22Speaker 2: Game?
- 16:23Speaker 3: Why?
- 16:23Speaker 5: Why do you have to describe it like that?
- 16:26Speaker 3: That's how people describe age gaps in People magazine.
- 16:30Speaker 2: That's always what I see.
- 16:32Speaker 3: But I'm not a celebrity, So I don't know why
- 16:34Speaker 3: I said it like that, but yeah, the age gap
- 16:37Speaker 3: between us.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Is twenty two years.
- 16:38Speaker 3: He's older than me, so I'll let you do the math.
- 16:43Speaker 3: But he's turning sixty at the end of this year.
- 16:46Speaker 3: And I like hearing that there are more age gap couples.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Why why are there?
- 16:53Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 16:53Speaker 1: So one of the reasons that is predicted for this
- 16:57Speaker 1: increase is nowadays, in twenty twenty five, are more interested
- 17:04Speaker 1: in finding someone who aligns with their life path as
- 17:10Speaker 1: opposed to their age. So, for example, let's say you
- 17:15Speaker 1: are a twenty seven year old person and you live
- 17:19Speaker 1: alone and you have a job that you go to
- 17:22Speaker 1: every day full time. Now, if you don't do those
- 17:24Speaker 1: things in your twenty seven there's nothing wrong with that,
- 17:26Speaker 1: that's just the path you're on. But if you're a
- 17:29Speaker 1: twenty seven year old and you live alone or whatever,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you might want to find someone who is more on
- 17:35Speaker 1: that plane of life. Okay, say on someone who's still
- 17:38Speaker 1: trying to figure it out, which once again is totally fine.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Okay, Well this makes sense to me then, Gabe, because
- 17:44Speaker 3: me and my guy, he's about to be sixty, and
- 17:46Speaker 3: the truth is, I'm trying to go to bed early
- 17:49Speaker 3: and get discounts on meals.
- 17:51Speaker 2: So we're aligned.
- 17:55Speaker 4: They's rty.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven is Gabe and Angie, Sonny
- 17:58Speaker 1: and sixty seven Today Good I have an incredible story
- 18:03Speaker 1: for you this morning for Gabe's Good News of the Day.
- 18:07Speaker 1: This is one of I think my top five favorites
- 18:09Speaker 1: I've ever shared here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 18:11Speaker 2: You look positively giddy.
- 18:13Speaker 4: All right.
- 18:13Speaker 1: There's this nineteen year old student named Drew u. He
- 18:17Speaker 1: is an honor student. He's from the Midwest, and he
- 18:20Speaker 1: also has cerebral palsy. He got a B minus on
- 18:24Speaker 1: this high school hot sauce business project when it was
- 18:29Speaker 1: just the idea supposedly was considered unrealistic, is why he
- 18:33Speaker 1: received this B minus. So instead of, you know, kind
- 18:37Speaker 1: of whining and complaining that he should have got a
- 18:38Speaker 1: better grade or whatever, he took this as a personal
- 18:42Speaker 1: challenge to prove this teacher wrong.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Oh, I love this already.
- 18:46Speaker 1: He had three thousand dollars in savings in twenty twenty
- 18:49Speaker 1: three and he started crippling hot sauce. Great name for
- 18:54Speaker 1: him is right from his parents' kitchen and in his
- 18:57Speaker 1: first year the company sold over five hundred thousand bottles
- 19:02Speaker 1: and to earn him and earned him two million dollars
- 19:06Speaker 1: in revenue. Drew he blends bold flavor with bold humor.
- 19:12Speaker 1: He uses self deprecation as you can tell by the name,
- 19:15Speaker 1: and he thinks it really reflects his personality. Our humor
- 19:19Speaker 1: is how we get through a lot of things in life,
- 19:21Speaker 1: he said. He believes that lighthearted tone is part of
- 19:24Speaker 1: the brand's appeal, but Crippling Hot Sauce is more than
- 19:27Speaker 1: just a business. Davis donates or Drew donates five percent
- 19:30Speaker 1: of the profits to Cerebral Palsy Research. What's contributed to
- 19:35Speaker 1: twenty two thousand dollars to Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation in
- 19:39Speaker 1: twenty twenty three. He hopes his story encourages others to
- 19:42Speaker 1: chase their dreams, no matter where they're starting from. Even
- 19:46Speaker 1: one hundred dollars, he says, is enough to begin. With
- 19:49Speaker 1: his message and persistence and optimism, Drew has turned to
- 19:52Speaker 1: School Project into a thriving brand and a powerful story
- 19:57Speaker 1: of resilience.
- 19:58Speaker 4: What a beast?
- 20:00Speaker 2: This so hard?
- 20:01Speaker 3: If I were him, I would be sending that teacher
- 20:04Speaker 3: Hot Sauce bottles every Christmas in perpetuity.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Well you could just say thank you too.
- 20:09Speaker 1: You know, he took it as a challenge and maybe
- 20:11Speaker 1: rethought reworkshops some stuff.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I just, oh, yeah, that's a better cool, that's better
- 20:16Speaker 2: in your way.
- 20:17Speaker 4: It doesn't have to be a big giant like, you know,
- 20:20Speaker 4: screw you or okay.
- 20:21Speaker 6: You're right, I'm sorry. I'm just really proud of this kid. Yes,
- 20:24Speaker 6: me too, And I think it's super cool. He can
- 20:26Speaker 6: use some of that humor in the name, and what
- 20:30Speaker 6: a great name for a hot sauce.
- 20:32Speaker 1: So I just love this kid, and I was really
- 20:35Speaker 1: excited to share that story with you here today.
- 20:37Speaker 4: The world's full of nice people. If you can't find one,
- 20:39Speaker 4: you got to be one.
