- 0:00So vaccines don't cause autism and the dvla did a u-turn on
- 0:04their driving policy on their website all that's coming up
- 0:07right here. Hey guys, welcome back to the
- 0:13afterworld. Okay guys.
- 0:15So basically there's this huge controversy that has backed up
- 0:18from something called the anti-vaccine movement where a
- 0:21lot of people saying that vaccines cause autism and one
- 0:25guy in Italy successfully. Sue the Italian government for
- 0:27this and then also there's a guy called Andrew Wakefield did a
- 0:30lot of research on it apparently and then he said that there
- 0:33could have been a possibly a link between Autism and
- 0:35vaccines. So a bunch of people were scared
- 0:38crapless and then decided to not vaccinate their kids and there's
- 0:41been like a measles. Outbreak in America, which is
- 0:43crazy because people are not being at the vaccines.
- 0:46It's just it's just nuts, but on the contrary to that there's a
- 0:49steady that's just been released which has been going for the
- 0:52past 10 years. So these are this is what it is
- 0:54Danish researchers followed 6,000 cases of autism among half
- 0:59a million children in Denmark population registry over 10
- 1:02years to find out there's no link between Autism and vaccines
- 1:06vaccines for measles mumps and rubella.
- 1:08They published they published their findings in the journal.
- 1:12Analysis of internal medicine and the research intends to
- 1:17quell fears of vaccines increasingly being shared on
- 1:20social media because obviously it was saying about the other
- 1:22thing. So basically that is the
- 1:25consensus that loads of people said Fraser that the MMR
- 1:28vaccination and there's a whole movie or out of the body called
- 1:30like vast where they interview people were they saying that the
- 1:33kids are the MMR vaccination and then they get really hot and sat
- 1:36in their head and all kinds of stuff and they blamed that that
- 1:39was the cause for the developmental condition of or
- 1:42And what in fact autism is said to be development or and Gene
- 1:47specific so that it's hereditary that you actually get it through
- 1:50genes rather than something like an environmental Factor.
- 1:53Now this is all well and good but there are still people in
- 1:56America including Donald Trump who tweeted about anti-vaccine
- 2:02propaganda and rubbish about it being caused by vaccines and
- 2:06this is crazy and it's actually scared me because if you're
- 2:08going to say that autism is caused by vaccines and you don't
- 2:12start vaccinating yourself. We're gonna come up with a bunch
- 2:15load of issues like the measles outbreak in America and and
- 2:20mumps and they are going to become more and more and like
- 2:22rubella and things that we don't really want and if you're going
- 2:24to be scared again EMR vaccination, there's nothing
- 2:27stuff when you saying other stuff like the Earth is flat and
- 2:30that we are going to have to not take any medication ever again
- 2:33to solve our illnesses. So that being said, I'm glad
- 2:37that the Danish people have researched and published their
- 2:39research. That is awesome.
- 2:40So big kudos to And okay guys. So next one the normally I have
- 2:45four or five stories in this show.
- 2:46But today it was the focus on two stories because these two
- 2:49stories are very very good them album is crazy very interesting.
- 2:54Now, the second one is about driving in the UK and being
- 2:57autistic. So basically the dvla which is
- 3:01the governing body responsible for all kind of like driving
- 3:04needs like you go to the dvla to get your driving license you get
- 3:07your license plates change with the dvla all that kind of stuff
- 3:10is done through this governing body called the Vla now they
- 3:13have regulations on the site. So say that you have epilepsy.
- 3:16They say that you they stick it on the website that you have to
- 3:19fill out a form and send it in to them with your doctor's kind
- 3:21of consent and stuff like that talking about your condition in
- 3:24case it impact your ability to drive which could impact your
- 3:26insurance. If you get into a collision,
- 3:28unfortunately now all this is well and good and we understand
- 3:31that an autistic individual recently in the past week went
- 3:35on to the dvla website to look at rules and regulations along
- 3:39driving terms, and they noticed that Dvla, actually said that
- 3:43anybody with an Autism Spectrum condition must tell the dvla
- 3:47that they have the condition or else they could face up to a
- 3:50thousand pound fine for not telling them.
- 3:53Now this sent shockwaves across the community.
- 3:55Everybody was talking about it. I published a video on it a
- 3:57bunch of my friends publish the video on it every was blogging
- 3:59about it the national autistic Society stepped in to intervene
- 4:03and actually said to the dvla look you can't say this because
- 4:06let's put it this way if someone has passed their test and they
- 4:09have autism they have had a Government dvla registered
- 4:13tester testing their ability to drive and they get the test at
- 4:17the end of it. They passed which means that
- 4:18they are able to drive and there should be no issues.
- 4:20So why is the dvla saying you need to go back and actually
- 4:24tell us that you have an Autism Spectrum condition when in
- 4:26actual fact you passed having the conditions, there's no need
- 4:29to be informed about if you get what I'm saying.
- 4:30Now this happened on Monday where the National Society
- 4:35published a response to the dvla saying that they needed to sort
- 4:39that out. It wasn't fair on the kid who
- 4:41are trying to drive. When they go autism and the
- 4:42scared now because a lot of people were put off by this in
- 4:45the autism Community kind of felt like they were going to get
- 4:47sued or find or you know, some other kind of awful barbaric,
- 4:51you know consequence for not actually telling the dvla that
- 4:54they have an Autism Spectrum condition, even though they
- 4:57already passed their test also on the contrary to that people
- 5:01who have not passed their test would have been put off because
- 5:04they said that they felt this could bring things in like an
- 5:07aspie tax where the government would say.
- 5:10Oh, well if you've got autism you have To have more on your
- 5:12you know, your insurance will cost more because there's more
- 5:15premium because there's more risk of you.
- 5:16I don't having any kind of collision, you know, there's a
- 5:18whole host of things and also then they felt like by, you know
- 5:23reporting to the dvla that they have autism they felt like it
- 5:27was a bit too much big brother and that they didn't want them
- 5:29knowing their personal stuff because you know, a lot of
- 5:31people feel like it impacts their professional life and
- 5:33personal life if they disclose that they have an Autism
- 5:35Spectrum condition and they want to keep that private which is
- 5:38absolutely fine. So a bunch of people reached out
- 5:40to me and said are you know, I don't even want to learn to
- 5:41drive. Anymore because if this is the
- 5:43kind of way, they're going to treat as and I'd rather be off
- 5:45the Record and just take like public transport something which
- 5:47is crazy, you know because driving give somebody
- 5:49Independence. So anyway, that was Monday every
- 5:52made a big stink about it. I released a video on it and
- 5:54I'll try link it below so you guys can go check it out.
- 5:56If you're interested in seeing that video and everybody like
- 5:59just just yeah, it's just crazy like everyone freaked out but
- 6:02that being said something very interesting happened then on
- 6:05Tuesday afternoon after my video, I'd had other we couple
- 6:08of thousand views. My laundry will start comments
- 6:10on my video saying Hey the Dvla of changed it so they went back
- 6:14and they actually what must have happened is that the dvla had
- 6:17gone back in realize the pressure from the community and
- 6:19The National Society will put them to explain themselves.
- 6:22They then decided that they were going to retract what they said
- 6:25and now they stipulate that you only have to tell the dvla.
- 6:29If you have an Autism Spectrum condition if that condition
- 6:33impacts your ability to drive just like if you had in a you
- 6:38know, you're an amputee does that amputation?
- 6:42Your ability to drive some cases.
- 6:43It does some cases. It doesn't depend if you've got
- 6:45modified car or not, you know that kind of thing so they have
- 6:47to explain those on them. So now the dvla of gone back and
- 6:51what they were saying and in actual fact the dvla stated
- 6:54first of all that the statement had been up for like seven years
- 6:57and nobody said anything about it and it's been that way
- 6:59forever, even though nobody had seen it and the change.
- 7:02It happened almost overnight and they didn't consult with anybody
- 7:05first. So then they flipped it back and
- 7:07now it's just that you only have to tell them if you have a
- 7:10condition that does impact your ability to To drive now.
- 7:13This is a victory win for us in the autism Community to say that
- 7:16you know by campaigning and by voicing your opinion you do get
- 7:19her done changes can be made which is amazing.
- 7:22But this doesn't this shouldn't allow us to just passively let
- 7:25things like legislation like that impact the lives of people
- 7:28who have a condition. So we should all be trying to
- 7:30validate when the government try and and slide in your
- 7:34regulations or try to suppress something things like this are
- 7:38going to crop up from time to time, but it's time that we kind
- 7:40of come together. And a happens I'm campaign for
- 7:43it because campaign is definitely the only way to get
- 7:45over these things and overcome issues and boundaries and all
- 7:49kinds of horrible things that the government may try and do
- 7:51but I'm not like a crazy person. I'm just saying that you know,
- 7:54these things can happen and the government are always right in
- 7:57the case of our current government spruce.
