- 0:49Hi everyone.
- 0:49Welcome to need talks.
- 0:51Uh, happy to see everybody here on evening.
- 0:53Um.
- 0:55Who's living in the United States again?
- 0:57Morning today.
- 0:58Um, please welcome Abigail Cole.
- 1:01She's a 13 years old, uh, junior drag racer.
- 1:05Um, Abigail, welcome to our Inid Talks.
- 1:10Thank you.
- 1:12So let's start, uh, how you get into this, uh, racing and, uh, also.
- 1:19Tell us a little bit about your family.
- 1:21I know that you got a dog.
- 1:23Uh, I think we're going to talk about this as well because I
- 1:26got dog and I really like them.
- 1:28Um, so tell us more about your family, first of all.
- 1:35Yeah, so we are a family of three.
- 1:38It's me, my mom, um, plus my dog.
- 1:41His name's Bronco, and he is a five-year-old Rottweiler.
- 1:45Mm-hmm.
- 1:47That's great.
- 1:48Um, do you like to play with, uh, with Bronco and also Bronco,
- 1:52maybe visit some of your races?
- 1:56Yeah, he comes everywhere with us.
- 1:58Um, and of course I love playing with him.
- 2:02That's really nice.
- 2:03So I got, uh, Shel.
- 2:05She is, uh, two years old.
- 2:07Uh, we doing some agility that's like, uh, you know, like rally uh, together.
- 2:14So we doing some, uh, jumps, uh, tunnels and other stuff
- 2:18together, so we're running.
- 2:20Um, and yeah, really like, uh, my dog, we always, uh, walk.
- 2:25We, I always, uh, like took her with me.
- 2:29That's really cool.
- 2:30Um.
- 2:32So how you actually get into the drag racing?
- 2:39Yeah.
- 2:39So I got, um.
- 2:42Hooked on it.
- 2:42When I was three, my parents took me to Sea Fair in Seattle on Thursday,
- 2:48and I watched Hydroplanes and I climbed, is that in an Army helicopter?
- 2:55And then the very next day we went to NHR North Regionals.
- 2:59Mm-hmm.
- 2:59At Pacific Race.
- 3:00So I was just my home track and I met Tony Schumacher, the Sarge, and I sat in
- 3:05his army car and that was kind of what.
- 3:09Got me hooked on drag racing.
- 3:11Um, I saw the display of juniors and sat in one of those, and of course I kept
- 3:16going back and did not wanna get out.
- 3:18Mm-hmm.
- 3:19Um, and so for the next two years, that's pretty much what I talked about.
- 3:23So that's when we bought my half scale juniors that I rent today.
- 3:28Um, so that's the car that I've had my whole career.
- 3:31Mm-hmm.
- 3:32Um.
- 3:33Hows actually there was for you, you know, to choose the drag racing, uh, not
- 3:39ovals or like, uh, dirt ovals, uh, which are really popular in the United States
- 3:45and, uh, maybe some road racing as well.
- 3:48So what's, uh, the biggest thing which you really like about drag racing?
- 3:55Um, I don't know.
- 3:56The comradery is a awesome and drag racing, but I was also
- 4:00never really introduced to.
- 4:03The other aspects of racing, um, besides boat racing, which my dad races a boat.
- 4:08He started that when I was about two.
- 4:11Mm-hmm.
- 4:11But you can't race a boat until you are, it's either 15 or 16.
- 4:16Um, so that wasn't exactly an opportunity for me.
- 4:19Mm-hmm.
- 4:21That's awesome.
- 4:22Also, can you tell me what feelings you, you got when you first time race it?
- 4:30You know, um, I was still really young and I got super nervous.
- 4:35Um, but I've kind of come over that and it's a more, I get
- 4:39nervous for the competition wise, but not necessarily driving.
- 4:43Um, as soon as we started that car when I was little, um, I
- 4:49kind of was just ready to go.
- 4:51Um, but now I'm mixture between nervous and exciting.
- 4:55Mm-hmm.
- 4:56Um.
- 4:56Feelings there.
- 4:57So, yeah.
- 4:59Yeah.
- 4:59So you, uh, get used to the speed and, uh, just, uh, having fun with it.
- 5:03Yeah.
- 5:04Yes.
- 5:05Yeah.
- 5:05That's nice.
- 5:07Um, so can you tell me, how does it feel for you?
- 5:11So, being 13 years old, uh, girl and racing around, uh, the country, um,
- 5:17travel and, uh, doing all the stuff and, um, also balance with, with everything.
- 5:26Yeah, so it's, it can be hard at times.
- 5:30'cause I mean, last trip we were on the road for two months and, um, it's
- 5:36a lot to deal with, but it's doing what I love and, um, I get to race.
- 5:43So I'm happy with that.
- 5:44Um, and we, we traveled quite a bit.
- 5:47Um, we've gone as far as Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and we're
- 5:50here in Washington, so yeah.
- 5:53Yeah.
- 5:54Nice.
- 5:54Uh, so you actually enjoy the traveling part and racing, uh, yes.
- 6:00Together.
- 6:00That's really nice.
- 6:01I also, yeah.
- 6:02Uh, when I did, uh, so I started from karting, uh, when I was nine.
- 6:06Um, so we've been, uh.
- 6:09On card circuit together with my dad and, uh, you know, all the time,
- 6:14uh, driving the car to this track.
- 6:16It, it was so exciting.
- 6:18Uh, you just, uh, woke up in the morning and like, oh,
- 6:21great, I'm going to, uh, race.
- 6:23I'm going to practice.
- 6:24That's really nice, uh, feeling and definitely.
- 6:27And, uh, then I travel quite a lot.
- 6:29Uh, when I did some open dealers, um.
- 6:33So I went to Malaysia.
- 6:35There was like, you know, 10, 10 hours flight.
- 6:38It, it was a horrible, uh, real long flight.
- 6:41Uh, the longest my life, I think.
- 6:43Um, but I like to race, uh, sipan.
- 6:46It's a great circuit.
- 6:48Definitely.
- 6:49Um, so can you tell me how do you prepare to race, uh, like mentally and physically?
- 6:56What exercises you doing, uh, what's your routine looks like?
- 7:01Well first I do reaction time stuff.
- 7:04So we have a little simulator tree thing.
- 7:07Um.
- 7:09That brings down the tree.
- 7:10Mm-hmm.
- 7:11So I get to work on my reaction times there.
- 7:13And then we have a bunch of different exercises for other
- 7:17ways of reaction time as well.
- 7:20Um, and then mental side of it, I have dove deeper into that recently.
- 7:26Um, whereas books, audiobooks and that kind of stuff, and I'm
- 7:29actually in a mental strength and mental toughness class right now.
- 7:34Mm-hmm.
- 7:35So I'm getting a lot of exercises from that and working
- 7:38on that a little bit more.
- 7:40Mm-hmm.
- 7:40That's great.
- 7:42Also, I just, uh, read your bill and, uh, you've learned to do so many cool
- 7:48things like welding and powder coating.
- 7:51Uh, so tell me what's your favorite and what do you like the most of it?
- 7:58Um, that's really hard 'cause I like 'em all.
- 8:01Mm-hmm.
- 8:03Something with sandblasting, um, powder coating and working on the LA and all
- 8:09those kind of things all come together.
- 8:11'cause I started making piston candles.
- 8:13Mm-hmm.
- 8:14So I would take, um.
- 8:16Old pistons, broken pistons, that kinda stuff from my dad's engine builder, um,
- 8:20who was one of my sponsors and cleaned them up, sandblast 'em, powder coat
- 8:24'em, and then we made little inserts so that the wax didn't fall out everywhere.
- 8:29And then, um, on the lathe and then we would make candles in them and sell them.
- 8:33So that was always really fun.
- 8:36And I'm still doing that.
- 8:37I just have kind of fallen off on that a little bit, being more involved in racing.
- 8:44That's really cool There.
- 8:45You got, uh, you know, some, uh, different activities outside of the racing.
- 8:50Not all the time.
- 8:51You can see the racing driver who's doing like, uh, the welding and all the stuff.
- 8:56That's really awesome.
- 8:58Um, you also mentioned, uh, then you're doing some training at a KEA.
- 9:06So can you tell me more about this?
- 9:08And you also doing some climbing and baking.
- 9:12Like you, you, you got a lot of hobbies.
- 9:15That's great.
- 9:17I do, yes.
- 9:17So AKA, it's the American Karate Esma Association.
- 9:21Mm-hmm.
- 9:22So we base more towards like self-defense, karate than anything.
- 9:25And then ESMA is stick work.
- 9:27Um.
- 9:28So that's always really fun.
- 9:30And then climbing.
- 9:32I love rock climbing.
- 9:33So fun.
- 9:34Um, unfortunately I don't have a lot of time for all of this,
- 9:38considering how much we're on the road.
- 9:40Um, and then of course the baking, the cooking when we're at home.
- 9:45I try to do as much as I can of that during the holiday.
- 9:48Um, always all the baking, so yeah.
- 9:52Definitely have fun outside of racing.
- 9:56That's nice.
- 9:56Uh, so you develop yourself in, uh, different side, uh, sites.
- 10:01Uh, it's really cool, uh, because you're 14 years old.
- 10:05I think the, the world is really interesting for you.
- 10:07So you're really curious about, uh, different stuff.
- 10:11Uh, it's really nice.
- 10:12Uh, I like when people, you know, jumping into.
- 10:16Different stuff.
- 10:17Uh, like I jump into agility with my dog and get a dog
- 10:21like, uh, one half a year ago.
- 10:24And that, that's my first dog in the family.
- 10:27And I'm like, okay, let's, let's do the new hobby.
- 10:30Let's jump into it.
- 10:31And I started like to learn from scratch and, uh, it's really refreshing feeling.
- 10:36Definitely.
- 10:37Um, okay.
- 10:39Uh, let's return back a little bit and talk about your car.
- 10:43I know that your car got a name.
- 10:45Can you tell more about this?
- 10:46Uh, what's the story behind this?
- 10:50Yeah, so my car's name is Lou.
- 10:52Um, it's after my grandparents old Scotty dog.
- 10:57Um, I was really attached to her and she passed away.
- 11:00I believe it was last year or the year before that.
- 11:03Um.
- 11:05It kind of broke my heart.
- 11:06So I decided my car didn't have a name at the time.
- 11:09Mm-hmm.
- 11:10And her name was Whitaker Lou Whitaker.
- 11:12Um, and so I decided to name it Lou after her.
- 11:16Mm-hmm.
- 11:17Interesting story.
- 11:18And, uh, I think it means a lot for you.
- 11:20Definitely.
- 11:21Uh, yeah.
- 11:22I remember that, uh, when I race in open wheelers, uh, I had a formal
- 11:27masters, uh, which is a formal Bart uh, uh, car and, uh, named Jackson.
- 11:34So it was, you know, quite aggressive and, uh, sounds good at the same time.
- 11:40So, yeah, also had a car with name.
- 11:42It's, uh, kind of cute.
- 11:44Um, so what can you tell about, uh.
- 11:50Community in the drag racing in United States, like what it's
- 11:53like to be 14 years old and girl in, in this, um, racing industry.
- 12:02Yeah.
- 12:02Um,
- 12:06really the racing community is really,
- 12:12the racing community is really.
- 12:16Dang, what's the word?
- 12:18Um, like, you know, friendly or may maybe not really.
- 12:26Yeah.
- 12:27You could say friendly.
- 12:27Yeah.
- 12:28Um, but it really isn't hard being a girl or mm-hmm.
- 12:34Young in the sport either.
- 12:36Um, because.
- 12:38It's pretty much 50 50 from the girl boy standpoint as well there.
- 12:43And then I have, in racing, I have more stuff onto that.
- 12:48Um, we own a parts business for juniors.
- 12:52Um, so I'm doing inventory, getting orders out.
- 12:55Mm-hmm.
- 12:56Um, selling the parts at the track and that kind of stuff as well, so.
- 13:01That brings another aspect of racing into it as well.
- 13:05Um, so it's not necessarily just the driving or the tuning.
- 13:08Mm-hmm.
- 13:09Interesting.
- 13:10Uh, I was aware that in drag racing, actually more girls
- 13:14than in any other categories.
- 13:17Uh, definitely.
- 13:18Uh, what's in your opinion, uh, brings girls into that, like speed
- 13:23or community or everything together?
- 13:28Yeah, I don't really, I don't know.
- 13:30Um, I would say same thing for everyone.
- 13:34Um, the community, of course, if you like, the general adrenaline
- 13:38rush, um, the competition.
- 13:40I personally love competition, so that's, some of that is great about racing for me.
- 13:45Mm-hmm.
- 13:46Um, but there's so many different things that you can find in racing.
- 13:50Um, I am homeschooled, so, um.
- 13:55Racing is something that we bring into my schooling.
- 13:59So the math in it, from measuring oil to doing my data and all of that, um,
- 14:04is a learning opportunity as well.
- 14:07Mm-hmm.
- 14:08Uh, tell me more about your team.
- 14:10How you're working with your engineers, with kind of settings you maybe
- 14:15apply to the car, uh, and like how the work on the track looks for you.
- 14:22Yeah.
- 14:23So, um, like I said earlier, it's just the three of us.
- 14:26So my mom, my dad, and me.
- 14:28Mm-hmm.
- 14:29So obviously I'm the driver, um, and I do like the tires, the oil,
- 14:33the fuel, all of that kind of stuff.
- 14:35And then my mom, she does all the video and picture taking stuff, and
- 14:41then I do data and then anything else.
- 14:45Mm-hmm.
- 14:46That's more on the card does and kind of fills in the holes of what I don't do.
- 14:51Mm-hmm.
- 14:53Um, so speaking about team, uh, how's the teamwork, uh, uh,
- 14:58brings, uh, good positions for you?
- 15:00Like, did you, uh, do you remember any highlights, uh, races in your career?
- 15:09So last year, um, I won the championship in my class at my
- 15:13home track here in um, Washington.
- 15:17And then I have two Wally, so pretty prestigious award there.
- 15:22Um, and then I, this year newly am part of the JCM Main Family Protein.
- 15:31Mm-hmm.
- 15:32So that's super cool.
- 15:34Um, and then.
- 15:37Yeah.
- 15:37And so that the main JCM team mm-hmm.
- 15:41Is pretty much, it's just opportunity for mentoring and, um, pretty much
- 15:46any questions I have that comes to the mental side, the social
- 15:49media side, um, the actual racing.
- 15:52Um, I can go to them with any questions that I have.
- 15:57That's awesome.
- 15:57Congrats to you with the first position.
- 16:00Uh, that's great feeling.
- 16:02Thank you.
- 16:02I think, um, how you handle the pressure, uh, during competition and,
- 16:08um, what's your team looks like on a day, uh, when, when you got the race.
- 16:15Um, well, I really try to stay outta my head as much as I can, but obviously
- 16:21why I am in the mental, um, classes and have all the books and stuff is
- 16:27because I'm not the best at doing that.
- 16:30Mm-hmm.
- 16:30So I do get in my head, but I've found breathing really helps.
- 16:34Um.
- 16:35Mm-hmm.
- 16:35And I. Tried multiple different breathing exercises and stuff like that.
- 16:40Um, something that I've been trying newly is visuals visualization.
- 16:45Um, so just visualizing myself running the past and then
- 16:49going out there and doing it.
- 16:51Usually before we started the car, I try to think about nothing, just so
- 16:57I don't have to worry about anything.
- 16:59Mm-hmm.
- 17:00I'm just.
- 17:01Not thinking.
- 17:01Mm-hmm.
- 17:03So you focus on the, on track, on the car and, uh, like all stuff which, which
- 17:08happened with you in, in the moment.
- 17:10Right?
- 17:12Right.
- 17:13Yeah.
- 17:13Nice.
- 17:14Um.
- 17:16So that's great, uh, that you doing some breathing exercises.
- 17:21I think they help a lot.
- 17:22Uh, definitely.
- 17:24Um, and I think you have to continue to do this.
- 17:28Of course, we all get nervous when we, on the start of the race, that's
- 17:31absolutely normal, uh, because, you know, entering the line pumps in your
- 17:35blood and, uh, you're getting excited and all this thing, uh, things happening.
- 17:40Um, it's absolutely okay.
- 17:42Um.
- 17:44Can you tell me about the purple dragster?
- 17:47Uh, the, is it, is it Lou or.
- 17:50Different.
- 17:51No.
- 17:51So that is actually, she's aged out now.
- 17:55Mm-hmm.
- 17:55Um, but it's one of my friend's cars, but that is the first car that I sat in.
- 17:59So when I went to that NHR race, um, when I was three, that is the car that I in.
- 18:04And for a while that's the car that I wanted.
- 18:08I wanted to have the purple dragster that has the ferry on it.
- 18:12Um, but.
- 18:15It.
- 18:16Yeah.
- 18:18Um, it's really cute.
- 18:20So the person that just aged out of that, she just aged out and her name was Z. Um,
- 18:26but I literally was in love with that car.
- 18:30I had the bit, unfortunately I didn't exactly get that car, but I love mine.
- 18:35So, um, yeah.
- 18:39That's a really cute story also, uh, I hope you go on to
- 18:43get in the future top fuel, uh, dragster purple with ferry on it.
- 18:48It's going to be awesome.
- 18:50Um, okay, uh, let's do quick, uh, fun questions.
- 18:55Uh, if Luke could talk, what would she, uh, what would, uh, he say?
- 19:00What do you think?
- 19:02I'm sorry.
- 19:03Can you say that again?
- 19:04Uh, if Lou could talk, uh, what would he say?
- 19:13I've never been asked that before.
- 19:14That's, um, I don't know.
- 19:19I know, maybe I'm fast, I'm furious.
- 19:21Something like this,
- 19:26I don't know.
- 19:27I think that she was just like congrat, well, not congratulate, but like.
- 19:35Wish me luck and like be positive things.
- 19:41Mm-hmm.
- 19:42Like stuff like that.
- 19:43Nice.
- 19:44Uh, what's your favorite snack?
- 19:46Uh, when you're on the trek?
- 19:49Ooh, that's so hard.
- 19:50Um.
- 19:53Um, well a lot of times when we're at home, my grandparents
- 19:58come out and my grandma always brings like fruit and veggie tray.
- 20:02Mm-hmm.
- 20:02So that's always super nice to have.
- 20:05So I'd probably say fruit and veggie tray.
- 20:07Alright.
- 20:08Uh, and, uh, tell me about the book you take to the race weekend.
- 20:14'cause I know that you're reading, uh, a lot.
- 20:18Yeah, I, I read quite a bit.
- 20:20Um, I like, like fantasy sci-fi type books.
- 20:23Mm-hmm.
- 20:24Um, if I'm not reading the mental stuff mm-hmm.
- 20:29Um, I have, I like the Harry Potters Hunger Games, um, more magic side
- 20:36of stuff too, so I. A lot of books.
- 20:40I have like two bookshelves full.
- 20:42Mm-hmm.
- 20:43Um, plus I borrow so much from the library that I wish I could fit in my
- 20:47room, but I just don't have enough space.
- 20:50Um, but yeah.
- 20:51So the fantasy, sci-fi, fractured fairytale type things, um, yeah.
- 20:57Mm-hmm.
- 20:59Um, and I ha I don't have a favorite book.
- 21:01I, I've read too many, so that's.
- 21:06Something that I could never choose.
- 21:08So you actually just enjoy, uh, every book, which you read?
- 21:13Pretty much.
- 21:13Yeah.
- 21:14Okay.
- 21:15Um, so for the future, what do you think, what's your dream, uh, sponsor to
- 21:20like, bring you to the top few, uh, Dr.
- 21:23Drag, uh, career?
- 21:26Um, I would love to go pro.
- 21:29Whether that's top fuel.
- 21:31Mm-hmm.
- 21:32Um, funny car.
- 21:32Mm-hmm.
- 21:33Or I would love to do pro stock.
- 21:35Okay.
- 21:36Um, I think pro stock would be super fun, but really whatever
- 21:39I have the chance to do.
- 21:41Alright.
- 21:42Um, what advice, uh, can you give to like girls and boys who's starting,
- 21:47who's also 14 years old, uh, because you got quite big experience already
- 21:52in this life with all traveling, different hobbies and all this stuff.
- 21:58Yeah.
- 21:59Um, I'd probably say just take it slow.
- 22:03I mean, don't go too crazy.
- 22:05Don't think that you're gonna be perfect.
- 22:08Um, 'cause I mean, mistakes happen and, um, definitely breathe through
- 22:15everything and keep a good mindset.
- 22:18Mindset is very, very important, so stay positive.
- 22:23That's true.
- 22:24That mindset is so important, uh, because how you think that that's how
- 22:28you actually see things and um, yeah.
- 22:32If you see them from bedside, from negative side, you like
- 22:37things going to be bad for you.
- 22:39But if you see a little spark in, in bad stuff, it's a really, uh, nice
- 22:44skill, uh, to have in this life.
- 22:48Absolutely agree with you, uh, in this and.
- 22:52Tell me about, uh, plans for this year, uh, which you got for this season,
- 22:57uh, and for the future, maybe for the next, uh, three years or five.
- 23:05So this season, I know I've got a big race coming up in Texas, the
- 23:10JDRL, Western Conference Finals.
- 23:13Um, and that in, I believe, an eight day race.
- 23:17Um, so a lot of races packed into those eight days.
- 23:21Um, but that's usually about the biggest event that I have every
- 23:26year, so I'm super excited for that.
- 23:28That's in, I wanna say like.
- 23:31A month or so.
- 23:33Um, so coming up fast already, and then, I mean year, two year plans.
- 23:42Um, I don't really have anything planned yet.
- 23:45Mm-hmm.
- 23:45Um, just 'cause I don't know where I wanna go at this point.
- 23:49I, of course, like I said, I'd love to go pro.
- 23:52Um, I think I'll, I'll keep working on the junior step.
- 23:55Um, keep.
- 23:59Keep working on my mindset, keep working on all of that stuff, and,
- 24:04um, hopefully win some more races, win some more championships, um,
- 24:09some more wies, all the fun stuff.
- 24:12Uh, yeah, coming up we've got Western Conference finals and then of course
- 24:17the division seven, um, bracket finals, which I think is probably the second
- 24:23biggest race that I have every year.
- 24:25So, yeah.
- 24:28That's nice.
- 24:29Uh, also, can you tell me, uh, if, uh, you know, outside of the
- 24:34being the racing driver, uh, what's your dream, uh, job which you
- 24:40would like to have in the future?
- 24:42Like maybe, uh, working as an engineer or like doing some
- 24:46welding or some other stuff.
- 24:50I've really never thought of that before.
- 24:53Mm-hmm.
- 24:53Um, just 'cause I've always, um, thought about racing and hoping to go pro there,
- 24:59but I don't really know at this point.
- 25:02Um, I mean, I love all the shop work stuff, so.
- 25:08Mm-hmm.
- 25:09Maybe something in that direction.
- 25:11Mm-hmm.
- 25:11Or, um, I don't know.
- 25:15If we could bring some sort of something with books into it 'cause mm-hmm.
- 25:19I am a bookworm and would love to do something that entails books.
- 25:23Mm-hmm.
- 25:23Um, but shop work definitely.
- 25:25And then if I can do something on the side that's books, that'd be so awesome.
- 25:30Um, but mainly drag racing.
- 25:34Nice.
- 25:35So maybe you can, uh, write a book about, uh, your career in drag racing.
- 25:40Uh, we'll see in the future.
- 25:42I'm so excited, uh, because with all your experience, I think, uh, you got
- 25:46a really bright future and, uh, with all the positive mindset and uh, uh,
- 25:51mental, uh, stuff, which you are reading.
- 25:54It's really cool.
- 25:56So, um.
- 25:59Can you tell me, so you girl in the racing?
- 26:02Yes.
- 26:03And uh, me too.
- 26:05And what do you think how we can, um, develop the racing to get more
- 26:12girls into this, like in United States and in the rest of the world?
- 26:16World as well?
- 26:19You know, I really think that you just gotta spread the word.
- 26:23You have to kind of put it out there as something fun.
- 26:27Um, something that's competitive, not just serious, because I feel like a lot
- 26:33of people see racing as super serious, which it can be at times, but, um.
- 26:41I think it's important to have fun, um, because if you're not
- 26:44having fun, there's no reason to do it because it is just a sport.
- 26:48I mean, until you get up at higher ranks mm-hmm.
- 26:52You don't have to like, be totally serious.
- 26:56I mean, um, but definitely put the word out there, whether it's
- 27:03through word of mouth, so social media or anything like that.
- 27:07Mm-hmm.
- 27:07Um.
- 27:09But I really do hope that we can grow the sport more for everyone because,
- 27:15um, I think it'd be awesome to have more kids in it and, um, grow the sport.
- 27:21Mm-hmm.
- 27:22That's great.
- 27:23Uh, as you said.
- 27:25You know, always have fun.
- 27:27This is, uh, what I say to, to people on my streams and when, you know, people
- 27:32doing some racing and they get to series, uh, sometimes, uh, and yeah, so just,
- 27:38uh, the main thing is to have fun and, uh, yeah, for sure some things happen,
- 27:43uh, on the racing track or like in some racing as well, uh, which can upset you.
- 27:48But, uh, I think you're right with this.
- 27:51Um.
- 27:55And
- 28:02I wanted to say something, but then I, I just forget because, uh, it, it's
- 28:06so exciting that first time I, I got person, uh, who's, uh, 13 years old
- 28:11and it's really cool that you, uh, you know, doing a lot of stuff also.
- 28:19All right.
- 28:20Um.
- 28:23What, what's actually, uh, the best lesson, which, which you learned
- 28:27during this years in, uh, racing and, uh, in other activities?
- 28:35Um, I've probably, Hmm.
- 28:38I've learned so many whether I've realized it or not.
- 28:41Um, and I've learned from my mistakes.
- 28:45So many, I made so many mistakes.
- 28:47Um, but.
- 28:49Lesson that I have learned.
- 28:54Um,
- 28:59you know, probably that, like I said earlier, you can't be super serious.
- 29:04You have to relax.
- 29:05Mm-hmm.
- 29:05And you have to breathe through it and you can't get too mad, you can't get too
- 29:11emotional about whether you win or lose.
- 29:14Um, obviously losing.
- 29:19Just not feel the best sometimes.
- 29:21Mm-hmm.
- 29:21But, um, you gotta learn to get through that and learn from what happened.
- 29:28Let's say maybe you were still on the light, maybe you were not paying
- 29:32attention, or I mean, some tracks you, there's tons of planes flying
- 29:37over and this is something I've done.
- 29:38Mm-hmm.
- 29:38Maybe you were watching the planes and had a horrible time, but
- 29:42you just gotta learn to focus.
- 29:44You gotta.
- 29:45Breathe through it, like I said.
- 29:46Um mm-hmm.
- 29:48And so I think that's probably the biggest lesson I've learned, but I'm sure there's
- 29:53so many that I didn't realize I learned.
- 29:55Mm-hmm.
- 29:56It just kind of grew through it without.
- 29:59Realizing that it was even the thing.
- 30:01Mm-hmm.
- 30:03Yeah.
- 30:03I noticed that you kind of go in with the flow in this life and, uh, it's
- 30:07really nice, uh, because sometimes, you know, uh, like that happened to me.
- 30:13Unfortunately, my team who supported me in the open wheelers, they
- 30:17completely shut down the program.
- 30:19Uh, but then some racing happened, then streaming happened and all the stuff.
- 30:23So you just go in with a. Flow and, uh, actually enjoying
- 30:26your life and having fun.
- 30:27It's, uh, the main thing I wanted to ask you about.
- 30:31You mentioned, uh, that it's really important to, uh,
- 30:34go with, uh, social medias.
- 30:35Do you enjoy to, um, like, uh, doing something for your
- 30:41Instagram and also please tell people where they can find you.
- 30:46Um, maybe you got some kind of blog or something else.
- 30:51So we're on Facebook and Instagram as Abigail Cole racing, along with our
- 30:56family race team, which is 6 2 9 racing, and then on YouTube is 6 2 9 racing.
- 31:03Um, that's all we are there.
- 31:06Um, wait.
- 31:07Mm-hmm.
- 31:09That's nice.
- 31:09Do you actually enjoy to do posting?
- 31:12Do you, uh, like.
- 31:15Photos and other stuff of social medias, uh, like do you want to
- 31:19do maybe some reels, uh, YouTube channel in the future about the drag
- 31:25racing or about your life overall?
- 31:30It really depends on my mood, on whether or not I wanna do photos.
- 31:35Mm-hmm.
- 31:35Or wanna do a video as a race, a recap, whether I just wanna write something.
- 31:40Um, like I said earlier, mom does all of the videography and the photography.
- 31:46Um, and then she does most social media.
- 31:48I write a lot of stuff, but, um.
- 31:52I'm not on there a lot.
- 31:54Um, so she's doing most of the posting.
- 31:57I'll go on and respond to comments and stuff, but she handles most of that.
- 32:02Mm-hmm.
- 32:03Um, and I just come in a little bit, um, but.
- 32:09As of taking photos and stuff, like I said, it really
- 32:12depends on my mood sometimes.
- 32:13Mm-hmm.
- 32:13I'm like super happy about it and like, okay, let's do this.
- 32:17And sometimes I'm just like sitting there with a frown on my face
- 32:21and I have to be told to smile.
- 32:23To smile.
- 32:24Mm-hmm.
- 32:24Um, so, um.
- 32:26That's always fun times.
- 32:30I got you.
- 32:31Yeah.
- 32:32So sometimes you got a mood that you're like, oh yeah, I
- 32:34don't want to make any photos.
- 32:36Like, leave me alone.
- 32:38I feel that we all got, uh, that moment.
- 32:41Uh, definitely.
- 32:42Um, so last thoughts.
- 32:46Um.
- 32:48Maybe, uh, you can tell sentence, uh, which going to inspire girls
- 32:53in, uh, to jump into drag racing and, uh, we're going to see a lot
- 32:58of, uh, girls in it in the future.
- 33:04Yes.
- 33:04Yes.
- 33:05I really hope for that.
- 33:07Mm-hmm.
- 33:08So what the would, would be the like inspiring, uh, message from you to girls.
- 33:15Hmm.
- 33:16Um,
- 33:23I would say, um,
- 33:28I mean a lot of different sports have the competition, but I think that if
- 33:35you are really loving the competitive side is, is definitely probably the
- 33:42number one sport I would say for.
- 33:44Competitive stuff because mm-hmm.
- 33:47Um, of how competitive it can get.
- 33:49Um, but definitely if you enjoy speed, this is the sport for you.
- 33:56Um, is so fun to go so fast.
- 34:01I mean, at six years old I was going like 30 miles an hour and then I slowly
- 34:06moved up 50, um, 70, 80, um, and going.
- 34:13Like 82 miles an hour at 13 is absolutely insane.
- 34:18Mm-hmm.
- 34:18Um, especially with the size of the car.
- 34:21So it's really fun for that side of things as well.
- 34:25So, um, I mean, and like I said earlier, if you're getting into
- 34:31this stay focused, like don't.
- 34:35Freak out too much, like don't overthink it.
- 34:38Mm-hmm.
- 34:38Which that's something I really struggle with.
- 34:40I overthink everything.
- 34:42Um, so don't overthink and just, just stay having fun with it.
- 34:48Mm-hmm.
- 34:48If you're not having fun, I don't see why you should be doing this.
- 34:53Yeah.
- 34:53I think we all thinking sometimes it's, uh, it's fine.
- 34:57Yeah.
- 34:59All right.
- 35:00That, that was really nice, uh, to meet you.
- 35:02That was, uh.
- 35:03Cool to talk with you.
- 35:04Uh, wish you good luck for your racing career and uh, for other hobbies which
- 35:10you got, and, uh, be with this, uh, spark in your life for the future.
- 35:17Thank you so much guys.
- 35:18Thank you for watching.
- 35:19Uh, there was Abigail Cole with us, uh, young drag racer
- 35:24and absolutely amazing person.
- 35:26Thank you Abigail, to being with us.
- 35:30Thank you for having me.
- 35:31Yeah.
- 35:31Bye guys.
