- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 0:03Speaker 2: All right, Heidi Ho, 3.05 in the afternoon, NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Ron Verb, what a glorious Friday afternoon we have in store.
- 0:14Speaker 2: 78 degrees, nice to be with you.
- 0:16Speaker 3: 330-729-9977, 330-729-9977.
- 0:16Speaker 2: We'll get you through to us on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Welcome,
- 0:18Speaker 2: welcome one and all. How about this deal with Trump?
- 0:30Speaker 2: I mean, you've got to admit, this is ridiculous. We're
- 0:33Speaker 2: going to rename Lake Ontario Lake America. I mean, this
- 0:37Speaker 2: is getting a little ridiculous. As I said to you previously,
- 0:43Speaker 2: as ridiculous as I thought when Biden was changing the
- 0:46Speaker 2: names of things, as ridiculous as I thought the Democrats
- 0:50Speaker 2: were when they were ripping down our history, removing statues,
- 0:55Speaker 2: whitewashing our history, if you will, when they were doing
- 0:58Speaker 2: that nonsense. And I found it just very offensive as
- 1:04Speaker 2: an American. Forget Democrat and Republican for once in your life.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Forget all of that. Just sometimes think as an American.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And how frustrated I was when I saw the Democrats
- 1:14Speaker 2: doing that kind of stuff. Well, we got to take
- 1:16Speaker 2: this statue down. We got to rename Fort Hood. With
- 1:20Speaker 2: the shenanigans that they were pulling with the political correct philosophy.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And when Trump got back in office and when he said, okay,
- 1:27Speaker 2: we're going to go back and we're going to name
- 1:29Speaker 2: it Fort Hood again, I agreed with him in doing
- 1:32Speaker 2: that kind of stuff. I totally agreed with him saying, okay,
- 1:36Speaker 2: enough of this stuff. We're going back to what these
- 1:39Speaker 2: things were known as. I mean, I never agreed with
- 1:41Speaker 2: ripping these statues down and this kind of nonsense that
- 1:43Speaker 2: the Democrats were doing in the renaming. I was glad
- 1:46Speaker 2: Trump put history back in its place. But with that
- 1:50Speaker 2: being said, I'm equally as just frustrated with Trump trying–
- 1:55Speaker 2: Trying to change the name. Can I tell you this?
- 1:59Speaker 2: I just want to tell you this. I think it
- 2:02Speaker 2: should be the Department of Defense. This whole Department of War.
- 2:06Speaker 2: We're going to change the name to Department of Defense,
- 2:08Speaker 2: the Department of War. I mean, this is what we're
- 2:11Speaker 2: worried about. It's ridiculous. We're going to change the Kennedy
- 2:16Speaker 2: Trump Center. We're going to– all these people want to
- 2:21Speaker 2: put his name on everything. Give me a break. And
- 2:24Speaker 2: then if you go one step further and you take
- 2:26Speaker 2: a look at this Lake Ontario, let's call it Lake America,
- 2:33Speaker 2: enough of this. Some of this stuff is just crazy.
- 2:36Speaker 4: All right.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Got that off my chest. 307, you're on the air. Welcome.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Have you taken a– Look back into Mark Carney's past.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Who's past?
- 2:49Speaker 3: The leader of Canada. And not only what he's done,
- 2:57Speaker 3: who he's worked for, and the things that he has
- 3:01Speaker 3: said over the years.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Have you looked at some of these wackos that the
- 3:06Speaker 2: Democrats are running and winning in their primary elections? Have
- 3:10Speaker 2: you looked at some of these people that are winning
- 3:12Speaker 2: and what they have to say? My God, it's frightening.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Well, it's frightening because it's the same thing. See, and
- 3:20Speaker 3: that's the deal. Communism was never about a country. It
- 3:24Speaker 3: was about the party. Party's the number one thing. So
- 3:27Speaker 3: you get this kook in Canada doing and saying the things. Oh,
- 3:32Speaker 3: what is it now?
- 3:33Speaker 5: The.
- 3:35Speaker 3: What's their BBC, whatever, Canadian, CBC, maybe, whatever. And, yeah,
- 3:41Speaker 3: nobody there is allowed to say that 9-11 was a
- 3:45Speaker 3: terrorist attack because, you know, we're going to be talking
- 3:47Speaker 3: about it, but nobody's going to say terrorist attack like 9-11.
- 3:51Speaker 3: It sounds like Ilhan Omar wrote their news script, like
- 3:56Speaker 3: some people did some things. Or go down the list
- 4:02Speaker 3: of all the, like you just said, DSA people here,
- 4:06Speaker 3: because they all say the same thing.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Isn't it crazy when you start to see someone be interviewed?
- 4:13Speaker 2: I was watching, was it the woman in... Florida. She
- 4:18Speaker 2: didn't even know what the national debt was. I mean,
- 4:21Speaker 2: some of these people are running when they're asked these questions. Well,
- 4:25Speaker 2: we support Medicare for all. Listen, Medicare is a great program.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You got to qualify for it. You got to be 65.
- 4:31Speaker 2: You got to work so long and pay taxes and
- 4:33Speaker 2: do it just as your employer does for you. But
- 4:36Speaker 2: it's still got financial problems despite all of that, representing
- 4:40Speaker 2: just our senior citizens. It's a great program. But the
- 4:42Speaker 2: idea that you could provide it to everybody, well, how
- 4:45Speaker 2: are you going to pay for that? Who's going to
- 4:47Speaker 2: pay for that? How much is that going to cost?
- 4:50Speaker 2: I mean, the people that champion this kind of stuff
- 4:52Speaker 2: are absolutely clueless to any of that, any of those
- 4:56Speaker 2: answers of what's going on. They just say, well, we
- 5:00Speaker 2: want to have free daycare. We want to have free college.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Everything's free, but nothing's free. It just means we're going
- 5:08Speaker 2: to have to come up with money somewhere else. by
- 5:11Speaker 2: taxing somebody else and taking their money to pay for
- 5:14Speaker 2: all this stuff. And how do you do that when
- 5:16Speaker 2: you're $ 40 trillion in debt? I mean, the Democrats, people
- 5:19Speaker 2: that are winning in a lot of these primaries, it's
- 5:23Speaker 2: troubling to me that anybody would vote for him, including
- 5:26Speaker 2: Sherrod Brown. You look at Sherrod Brown running these ads,
- 5:30Speaker 2: you would think this guy's never been in the Senate. Well,
- 5:34Speaker 2: he's been around forever, for 30 years. And he's talking
- 5:38Speaker 2: about all the stuff he's going to do if he's
- 5:39Speaker 2: going to get elected. He supported every wacky ass thing
- 5:42Speaker 2: that Joe Biden believed in. The open border, the pronouns,
- 5:47Speaker 2: all of this crazy liberal stuff. He supported 100 percent.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And now he's now he's running like he's a newcomer.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I'm going to do this. I'm going to do that.
- 5:56Speaker 2: You should have your head examined if you vote for
- 5:58Speaker 2: Sherrod Brown. Really? The guy is a liberal nut job.
- 6:01Speaker 3: And to keep on this topic. VSA thing. So in
- 6:09Speaker 3: the Canadian leader's office, his chief operating officer, something like that,
- 6:15Speaker 3: they called her. She worked on the Hillary Clinton campaign,
- 6:19Speaker 3: the Biden campaign, and Kamala Harris campaign. That's who they
- 6:25Speaker 3: have in their office. So conversely, they send their leftist
- 6:31Speaker 3: freaks from hell down to Florida to help the lady
- 6:33Speaker 3: you just talked about get elected. That's what's going on.
- 6:36Speaker 3: The party is bigger than the country because the leftists,
- 6:40Speaker 3: the communists, the Marxists, they want to take over the world.
- 6:44Speaker 3: They don't care what country it is. Even Venezuela, it
- 6:49Speaker 3: doesn't matter. China, it doesn't matter. But that's what they're
- 6:53Speaker 3: doing today. There's people from other countries involved in our elections.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Can somebody look into that, please? And obviously, you know,
- 7:06Speaker 3: they're not all idiots. They might be all disgusting creeps. But,
- 7:11Speaker 3: you know, they know the rules. And, well, we didn't
- 7:14Speaker 3: do this, but we did this. And that didn't cost
- 7:16Speaker 3: any money, so we did this. So, you know, the
- 7:19Speaker 3: foreign help in elections is okay.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:23Speaker 3: All right. Thank you for getting out of the way.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Now you're cooped up on the flock cameras. I hear
- 7:32Speaker 3: you're in favor of that.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I am in favor of flock cameras. Listen. I understand
- 7:40Speaker 2: with everything there's pluses and minuses, but there is a reality.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I mean, flock cameras, I'm not paranoid of them. I
- 7:50Speaker 2: always hear people say, what about this? What about that?
- 7:52Speaker 2: What about this instance? What about that instance? I support
- 7:56Speaker 2: the flock cameras. They're a technology tool that your local
- 7:59Speaker 2: police department can use to become more efficient and catch
- 8:04Speaker 2: fleeing criminals. And it just is technology. Listen, you go
- 8:10Speaker 2: to a store, you're on all kinds of cameras. Some
- 8:15Speaker 2: store parking lots privately have flock cameras. So you have
- 8:19Speaker 2: store parking lots with cameras, stores with cameras, people with
- 8:23Speaker 2: ring doorbells, all of that kind of stuff. all over
- 8:26Speaker 2: the place. You're out in public. These flock cameras take
- 8:29Speaker 2: a picture of your license plate to see if there's
- 8:34Speaker 2: any warrants or your car is stolen. Anything along those
- 8:37Speaker 2: lines to try to capture criminals. And I'm all for them.
- 8:42Speaker 2: For example, just the other night, we had another shooting
- 8:44Speaker 2: in Austintown at a bar. And the people at flock
- 8:49Speaker 2: cameras do make your community safer. And crime is getting in– well,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I think crime is an issue. So if you can
- 9:01Speaker 2: keep your cops safer and your community safer and more efficient,
- 9:07Speaker 2: why would you be opposed to it out of the fear? Well,
- 9:09Speaker 2: what if this? What if that? Well, that isn't the case.
- 9:13Speaker 2: What can I say?
- 9:14Speaker 3: Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 9:17Speaker 3: So the people before they wrote the Constitution, right, we're
- 9:21Speaker 3: going back to the 1700s now for those, you know,
- 9:25Speaker 3: people who were intellectually challenged. But they said you can't
- 9:29Speaker 3: just have an open warrant and go look at everything.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Because you know what they'll do? They'll go everywhere and
- 9:35Speaker 3: they'll look at everything until they find something. Now, look,
- 9:39Speaker 3: forget about history. Forget about all of that. Go back
- 9:43Speaker 3: to 2021 when Joe Biden took office. There's police at
- 9:49Speaker 3: churches writing down the license plate numbers. There's police at
- 9:54Speaker 3: the school board meetings writing down the license plate numbers.
- 9:58Speaker 3: There's the FBI. saying, oh, no, no, no, we were
- 10:02Speaker 3: just looking, there was just a letter at the Richmond,
- 10:06Speaker 3: Virginia FBI field office concerning traditional Catholics and how they
- 10:11Speaker 3: were a threat. And then we come back to find
- 10:14Speaker 3: out six months later, oh, it was a nationwide thing?
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Because the government lies to you to do what they
- 10:21Speaker 3: want to do. And you know this, Ron. I'm not
- 10:26Speaker 3: for the criminals. I'm for the police. I'm for people
- 10:30Speaker 3: not getting in trouble or, you know, the police all
- 10:35Speaker 3: the time. So I'm in favor of them having the
- 10:38Speaker 3: body cams. Right. You can't let this happen. Imagine what
- 10:44Speaker 3: they would do when Trump's the racist, Trump's the misogynist,
- 10:48Speaker 3: Trump's the Islamophobe, Trump's the everything. And guess what? After
- 10:53Speaker 3: January 6th, we're all criminals. You vote for Trump, we're
- 10:56Speaker 3: stopping you. Look what they did to the truckers in Canada.
- 11:00Speaker 3: You can't give your government that much power. Alex said
- 11:04Speaker 3: it the other day, and going back to Ben Franklin,
- 11:08Speaker 3: if you give up your freedom for security, you deserve
- 11:14Speaker 3: and will get neither.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Well, listen, listen, I understand people's opposition to it. I
- 11:20Speaker 2: have a differing opinion. You know where I stand as
- 11:23Speaker 2: far as my suspicion of governments. I am not concerned
- 11:26Speaker 2: about flock cameras and how they are being used. And
- 11:31Speaker 2: in the hypotheticals, people can have hypotheticals. If we ever
- 11:33Speaker 2: get to that point, then we'll have to deal with
- 11:36Speaker 2: it at that point. But you have them now. And
- 11:40Speaker 2: they've been around for the longest time in Youngstown, in Boardman,
- 11:44Speaker 2: in Niles. And no one's making a big damn deal
- 11:48Speaker 2: out of them and hasn't been. And we haven't had
- 11:50Speaker 2: any issues with it other than it makes your police
- 11:53Speaker 2: departments a lot more efficient at finding fleeing criminals. If
- 11:59Speaker 2: you've got somebody with a murder warrant.
- 12:04Speaker 2: That's driving into your community off of the freeway down
- 12:10Speaker 2: on 46, and that flock camera catches that plate, it's
- 12:14Speaker 2: probably a good thing that your police department is alerted
- 12:18Speaker 2: to it so that that person can be apprehended. I
- 12:21Speaker 2: just believe the current situation as it stands now, the
- 12:25Speaker 2: positives far outweigh any of the negatives and hypotheticals that
- 12:31Speaker 2: people are putting out there. I mean, it just far
- 12:35Speaker 2: outweighs it.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Look at the local police. And, you know, I'm not
- 12:40Speaker 3: saying they're horrible people, but they're using it, right?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Anybody that's around the country. Once again, you want to
- 12:49Speaker 2: paint with a broad brush. Any cops that abuse the
- 12:53Speaker 2: Leeds computer, which is in their car, are punished and
- 12:56Speaker 2: or fired or both. In the same situation as was
- 13:01Speaker 2: stated by the chief in Austintown applies to these type
- 13:05Speaker 2: cameras as well. It will not be tolerated. It will
- 13:08Speaker 2: not be overlooked. The same criteria applies. Now, do you
- 13:12Speaker 2: have some bad cops that did that?
- 13:14Speaker 7: Yes.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Did they get caught doing it?
- 13:16Speaker 7: Yes.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Was there ramifications to it?
- 13:18Speaker 7: Yes.
- 13:19Speaker 2: In other areas. And there should be. I mean, I
- 13:22Speaker 2: don't know how to say. Unfortunately, sometimes we have bad judges.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We have bad cops. We have bad doctors. We have that.
- 13:28Speaker 2: But I'm not going to throw the baby out with
- 13:30Speaker 2: the bathwater because of that. Overall, that is not an issue.
- 13:36Speaker 3: If you've got.
- 13:39Speaker 2: An abducted child, you've got a stolen car. You've got
- 13:43Speaker 2: somebody with a murder warrant coming into your community. You've
- 13:47Speaker 2: got somebody that they're pursuing. So that they know where
- 13:51Speaker 2: they are, that instead of guessing with limited manpower and
- 13:56Speaker 2: limited budgets on police departments, it's a tool to make
- 14:02Speaker 2: you more efficient. They use technology. I mean, why shouldn't
- 14:07Speaker 2: they be able to embrace it the same as us?
- 14:09Speaker 2: People can in their own homes with Ring or stores do.
- 14:13Speaker 3: That's fine. That's fine.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Or anyone else.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Or the business or your home. That's fine.
- 14:18Speaker 7: That's not my issue.
- 14:21Speaker 3: I can't say anything about that. But the government, what
- 14:24Speaker 3: they've already done to us, the lockdown from the China virus.
- 14:28Speaker 1: All right.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Listen, I'm in total agreement with you on that. But
- 14:33Speaker 2: here's the reality. And I say this again. What's happened
- 14:37Speaker 2: to Fauci? Has Fauci been held accountable? We have all
- 14:41Speaker 2: of this screaming from Republicans and Democrats, and I haven't
- 14:45Speaker 2: seen anybody go to jail with the Russian hoax that
- 14:48Speaker 2: happened on Trump's first term. I haven't seen anybody go
- 14:52Speaker 2: to jail with Fauci who, well, let's be realistic. The
- 14:56Speaker 2: government was funding this through Fauci, and they were also
- 15:00Speaker 2: doing it, had it located in China. No one's being
- 15:04Speaker 2: held accountable for this at all. We were lied to
- 15:08Speaker 2: about the bio labs in the Ukraine. I get all
- 15:10Speaker 2: of this. I talk about it all and say you
- 15:14Speaker 2: got every reason to doubt your government in many, many,
- 15:18Speaker 2: many ways. But in this particular case, I just don't
- 15:22Speaker 2: think you throw everything out and say we're not going
- 15:25Speaker 2: to use any technology in your local community to to
- 15:30Speaker 2: try to apprehend criminals. I drove here today through Youngstown
- 15:36Speaker 2: to come to the radio station. Youngstown has flock cameras.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Big deal. I didn't get pulled over. I mean, I
- 15:45Speaker 2: didn't feel violated. Hell, I went through Boardman. Everybody's got it.
- 15:50Speaker 2: What's the big damn deal? You're driving with them now.
- 15:53Speaker 2: You want to say, well, what if this happens? Well,
- 15:55Speaker 2: I'll tell you, if that happens, then I think it
- 15:58Speaker 2: should be dealt with on a local level, and it
- 16:00Speaker 2: should be dealt with on a local level, period. And
- 16:03Speaker 2: I think you have more control on a local level
- 16:05Speaker 2: than obviously you do on a federal level.
- 16:09Speaker 3: And I'm just afraid we won't be able to stop it.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Because they won't let you get to McClurg over there
- 16:18Speaker 3: and have a Republican meeting because they'll be shutting it
- 16:21Speaker 3: down and arresting anybody that's going there.
- 16:24Speaker 6: That's all.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Society hasn't gotten better lately. It's gotten worse.
- 16:29Speaker 2: All right. I understand people's concerns about that. I get that.
- 16:34Speaker 2: But I don't... Go along with it. I understand it, though.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I get it. The government's put themselves in that position
- 16:43Speaker 2: because of it. I understand all of that. I tell
- 16:49Speaker 2: you on a regular basis how frustrating is it, just
- 16:54Speaker 2: how frustrating it can be. When your government seems to
- 17:00Speaker 2: cover everything up or lie to you. We'll be back.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Stay tuned. So your next five minutes could be your
- 17:12Speaker 2: most productive. Ron Furb, News Radio 570 WKBN. You're on air.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Hello?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Hey, Ron. The Democrat governor, Josh Shapiro, is removing all
- 17:32Speaker 6: data centers from fast-track permits.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Who's that?
- 17:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 6: Josh Shapiro, Democrat governor. Bernie Sanders is proposing legislation to
- 17:45Speaker 6: put a moratorium on the construction of all data centers.
- 17:49Speaker 6: And so is Ocasio-Cortez and Abdul El-Sayed. And Trump in
- 17:55Speaker 6: Fox News says that if you oppose data centers, you
- 17:59Speaker 6: are far left. Now, Democrat candidate Gina Hinojosa is running
- 18:05Speaker 6: for Texas governor against incumbent Republican Greg Abbott in using
- 18:11Speaker 6: Abbott's support for data centers against them. But 70% of
- 18:16Speaker 6: Americans opposed data centers. Now, normally Republicans running for governors
- 18:22Speaker 6: in Texas beat their Democrat opponents by a 10 to
- 18:26Speaker 6: 12 percentage points, or I should say 10 to 12
- 18:31Speaker 6: percentage points. But even lifelong Republican voters are threatening to
- 18:37Speaker 6: cross party lines and vote Democrat. And the latest poll
- 18:42Speaker 6: has Abbott getting only 50% of the vote compared to
- 18:46Speaker 6: Hinojosa polling at 49%. There's a dead heat in Texas.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Well, we shall see. I mean, there's a couple of
- 18:54Speaker 2: things I say about that. A lot of times the
- 18:56Speaker 2: polling isn't accurate. We've seen it in a number of
- 18:59Speaker 2: races just recently in a primary where the polling is
- 19:02Speaker 2: way off. where it isn't even close. But if you
- 19:07Speaker 2: go and you say, well, I'm going to vote for
- 19:09Speaker 2: this Democrat because of that one issue, I think it's
- 19:14Speaker 2: a foolish vote because of the things Democrats stand for.
- 19:18Speaker 2: As frustrating as I can get with Trump, with the
- 19:21Speaker 2: Lake Ontario thing, with the war as far as Iran
- 19:24Speaker 2: is concerned, Do you think I would ever vote for
- 19:27Speaker 2: a Democrat like Sherry Brown? Do you think I would
- 19:30Speaker 2: ever vote for a Democrat that thinks that wants to
- 19:33Speaker 2: go back to men can have babies, can't define a woman,
- 19:37Speaker 2: transgenderism in your school. We're going to hire based on
- 19:41Speaker 2: your skin color, not on merits. And if you're gay
- 19:44Speaker 2: and it's nonsense, we've got an open border. We're going
- 19:47Speaker 2: to let all these people come into the country. We
- 19:49Speaker 2: don't believe in borders. We don't believe in ice. We
- 19:53Speaker 2: don't believe in the police. I mean, you think I
- 19:56Speaker 2: would vote for this socialism we're going to take from
- 19:59Speaker 2: this person over here and where we want Medicare for all,
- 20:02Speaker 2: but we have no idea how to pay for this stuff.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Do you think I would vote for that under any circumstances?
- 20:09Speaker 2: I mean, even when it comes to data centers, under
- 20:12Speaker 2: any circumstances that I would say, I'm still going to
- 20:16Speaker 2: vote for the Democrat. There is absolutely no way in
- 20:20Speaker 2: hell I will vote for Amy Acton for Ohio governor.
- 20:24Speaker 2: There's no way in hell I will vote for Sherrod Brown.
- 20:27Speaker 2: And I think if you do, you should have your
- 20:29Speaker 2: head examined based on what they stand for and what
- 20:32Speaker 2: they believe in. And I don't want the pronouns. I
- 20:37Speaker 2: don't want the nonsense of the social agenda. I will
- 20:39Speaker 2: not do it. I will not support it. And in
- 20:42Speaker 2: many cases, I don't believe those polls. I absolutely don't
- 20:47Speaker 2: believe those polls to be accurate. And we see in
- 20:51Speaker 2: many cases that they're not accurate. So I don't know
- 20:54Speaker 2: where to go with all of that kind of stuff.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Time will tell, but Republicans are behind in... Normally, Republican
- 21:05Speaker 6: states like North Carolina for like Senate and Congress. So
- 21:10Speaker 6: it's not just Texas.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:13Speaker 2: And I think that there's a reason why Republicans have
- 21:16Speaker 2: cause to be concerned. It's the economy. And listen, I
- 21:21Speaker 2: think Republicans are in a bind not because of me,
- 21:25Speaker 2: solely because of Trump, because of Trump and the war
- 21:29Speaker 2: and Trump and with the inflate the economy. From inflation
- 21:34Speaker 2: and economy into war, I think Trump has hurt a
- 21:38Speaker 2: lot of Republicans because of decisions he made. Now, a
- 21:42Speaker 2: lot of them ride on his coattails, but hopefully to
- 21:48Speaker 2: vote opposite that is just a disaster, an absolute disaster.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Well, the other day, Trump said he wants the Republican-controlled
- 22:01Speaker 6: Congress to to give him another $ 5 trillion increase in
- 22:07Speaker 6: the national debt, on top of the $ 40 trillion we
- 22:11Speaker 6: have already. And today's financial news is, quote, the stock
- 22:17Speaker 6: market forfeits gains in bond yields and the U.S. dollar
- 22:21Speaker 6: rise because investors fear that interest rates are going to
- 22:27Speaker 6: go even higher.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Well, I think there is that possibility. But once again,
- 22:34Speaker 2: we shall see. I mean, there's a possibility of that.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I am concerned about the debt deficit before Trump, during Trump,
- 22:43Speaker 2: and after Trump. But if the answer is the Democrats, well,
- 22:47Speaker 2: they want to give everything away to everybody. How are
- 22:50Speaker 2: they going to pay for it? They're just going to
- 22:52Speaker 2: make the debt even worse. So I wish Republicans and
- 22:56Speaker 2: Democrats as a whole— it seems to me the whole damn
- 22:58Speaker 2: lot of them— Don't give a damn about the debt
- 23:01Speaker 2: deficit at all, and haven't for the longest period of time.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Look what the Democrats did to Elon Musk to try
- 23:07Speaker 2: to drive him out of his mission to find the
- 23:09Speaker 2: fraud and waste. That says all you need to know
- 23:11Speaker 2: about Democrats and the debt deficit.
- 23:16Speaker 6: Well, I've been talking about how they've been artificially suppressing
- 23:21Speaker 6: interest rates going back to Obama. So yields on treasuries
- 23:25Speaker 6: have to go higher. In order to get investors to buy.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Right. Stand by for a minute. Just stand by. Back
- 23:31Speaker 2: with Frank. More of your calls ahead. Ron Furb from
- 23:33Speaker 2: the Kingdom of Mahoning with you tonight. Till 6.
- 23:37Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 23:39Speaker 5: A Lucas County woman is accused in the fatal stabbing
- 23:45Speaker 5: of a 20-year-old man in Toledo. 46-year-old Sophia Harris is
- 23:49Speaker 5: facing murder charges in the death of Tyler McKee. The
- 23:52Speaker 5: incident happened last Saturday near Scott High School, with McKee
- 23:56Speaker 5: later dying at the hospital. Harris is being held on
- 23:59Speaker 5: a bond of $ 1. 1 million. An overnight shooting in Over
- 24:03Speaker 5: the Rhine has left two people injured. Police called to
- 24:06Speaker 5: the scene on East McMicken Avenue, found two men suffering
- 24:09Speaker 5: from non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been reported. A Reynoldsburg
- 24:14Speaker 5: educator is being named Ohio's Teacher of the Year. Taya
- 24:17Speaker 5: Kidd at French Run Elementary School has been selected for
- 24:20Speaker 5: the honor. Kidd teaches second graders and is in her
- 24:23Speaker 5: ninth year at French Run. She'll also represent Ohio during
- 24:27Speaker 5: selection of the 2027 National Teacher of the Year. I'm
- 24:31Speaker 5: Andy Betts.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 24:36Speaker 1: and sports radio.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Podcasts, too.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Download the app.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Free never sounded so good.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Ron Verb going to go on out and check in
- 24:43Speaker 2: with Mike. Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. so
- 24:55Speaker 2: I mean there's I don't know where you go with
- 24:59Speaker 2: all of it all I can say is Frank I've
- 25:01Speaker 2: been disappointed in Republicans and Democrats over as long as
- 25:04Speaker 2: I've been around on not taking the debt and deficit
- 25:07Speaker 2: seriously and increasing it and not doing a thing I
- 25:13Speaker 2: saw what they did to Elon Musk and it was
- 25:16Speaker 2: reprehensible where do you go.
- 25:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm here, Ron.
- 25:24Speaker 2: All right. I saw what they did to Musk. So
- 25:28Speaker 2: I don't think there's a serious... They were talking under Musk, Frank.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Do you remember of $ 2 trillion a year of fraud?
- 25:37Speaker 2: I mean, that's your tax dollars and mine just being
- 25:40Speaker 2: pissed away on political nonsense. And they did everything to
- 25:44Speaker 2: destroy Musk. And I don't think you'll ever find anybody
- 25:46Speaker 2: willing to take it on again. I'm not optimistic that
- 25:49Speaker 2: it'd ever be solved. I think it'd continue to grow till...
- 25:52Speaker 2: Everything busts as a result of it. And I agree
- 25:57Speaker 2: with you. I think it's creating a major problem for
- 26:02Speaker 2: this country and getting people to buy the treasuries.
- 26:07Speaker 6: Well, you know, another financial news today. Trump's very upset
- 26:14Speaker 6: with Kevin Warsh, the Federal Reserve chairman, because he will
- 26:19Speaker 6: not cut interest rates. But Ron, yields on treasuries have
- 26:24Speaker 6: to go higher in order to get investors to buy
- 26:27Speaker 6: an additional $ 1 trillion of new treasuries issued every three
- 26:32Speaker 6: to five months. I mean, think about that, $ 1 trillion
- 26:37Speaker 6: of new treasuries every three to five months on top
- 26:41Speaker 6: of all the treasuries that are out there. Yields also
- 26:45Speaker 6: have to go higher to overcome investor fears on inflation
- 26:49Speaker 6: and government spending. and a sharp increase is incurring in
- 26:54Speaker 6: interest rates, not only in our country, in Japan, but
- 26:59Speaker 6: all across Europe as well. And Washington is intentionally keeping
- 27:03Speaker 6: interest rates artificially low because only a small increase in
- 27:08Speaker 6: interest rates will cause a huge increase in government debt payments.
- 27:13Speaker 6: So by keeping interest rates artificially low, the Treasury and
- 27:17Speaker 6: the Fed weakens the value of the dollar, which causes inflation.
- 27:22Speaker 6: And a falling dollar and skyrocketing fuel prices caused by
- 27:26Speaker 6: the Iran war is why wages are not keeping up
- 27:31Speaker 6: with the higher cost of living.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I don't think wages could keep up with this inflation
- 27:36Speaker 2: that we've had. I don't know that there's a company
- 27:39Speaker 2: that's can keep pace with this ridiculous inflation. You would
- 27:44Speaker 2: know finances as well as anybody. I think there are
- 27:47Speaker 2: plenty of people that retired, and it was pretty much
- 27:50Speaker 2: the status quo, and it should be. We never even
- 27:53Speaker 2: really noticed inflation for the longest period of time because
- 27:55Speaker 2: it was 1.1% or 1.5%. It wasn't that noticeable. Now
- 28:01Speaker 2: it became noticeable when it became double-digits. during COVID and
- 28:07Speaker 2: Biden and Trump and the situation that's going on now.
- 28:11Speaker 2: And it keeps just building on top of the double digits.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Now it's real noticeable. Then you throw property taxes on
- 28:18Speaker 2: top of it, which are going through the roof, and
- 28:20Speaker 2: all the prices that go up. So whose income can
- 28:24Speaker 2: keep pace with the prices? I don't give a damn
- 28:27Speaker 2: if you're retired or you're working. There isn't anyone listening
- 28:31Speaker 2: who isn't becoming poorer as time goes on.
- 28:35Speaker 6: Well, that's why the Democrats are polling better in the polls. Hey,
- 28:40Speaker 6: we're going to raise minimum wage and we're going to
- 28:45Speaker 6: prevent price increases.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Good luck with any of that.
- 28:48Speaker 6: I mean, that's ridiculous.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Right. But you're right. They're winning in some of these
- 28:54Speaker 2: polls because people are just fed up. But... That isn't
- 28:59Speaker 2: going to be the answer.
- 29:00Speaker 6: They're better off with the cost of living.
- 29:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:02Speaker 2: The answer isn't throw out capitalism and go to socialism.
- 29:06Speaker 2: That just doesn't work, period. But you're right. That message
- 29:09Speaker 2: appeals to a lot of people. Let me ask you this. See,
- 29:12Speaker 2: I get sick and damn tired of all these people
- 29:14Speaker 2: who think they're owed something, that they're owed. For example,
- 29:19Speaker 2: I hear this all the time. Health care is a right.
- 29:22Speaker 2: It's a right, Ron. And I think to myself, no,
- 29:25Speaker 2: it's not. Healthcare is a responsibility. I say this all
- 29:30Speaker 2: the time. When I was a kid, Frank, my dad
- 29:32Speaker 2: provided healthcare to his family. When I became an adult,
- 29:36Speaker 2: it was up to me to get a job that
- 29:38Speaker 2: had health care or go out and buy it. I
- 29:41Speaker 2: was now an adult. It was now a responsibility. I
- 29:44Speaker 2: wasn't owed it that somebody should just give it to me.
- 29:48Speaker 2: And there's a lot of people that don't want to
- 29:49Speaker 2: get off their ass and go do those things that
- 29:53Speaker 2: you need to do to get health care coverage, like
- 29:56Speaker 2: get a job, go to work. or buy it on
- 30:00Speaker 2: your own.
- 30:03Speaker 6: After the war between the states, the Civil War, from
- 30:07Speaker 6: 1867 to 1893, the U.S. economy shattered all previous growth records.
- 30:17Speaker 6: We had hardly any government. And Ron, listen to this.
- 30:22Speaker 6: Health care was affordable.
- 30:24Speaker 2: That was then. I mean, you can't even compare it
- 30:27Speaker 2: then to today. I mean, we weren't putting bloodsuckers on
- 30:31Speaker 2: everybody today like we were back then. I don't know
- 30:34Speaker 2: how many CAT scans they could do. Look at the
- 30:36Speaker 2: quality of health care and the technology. It's not even comparable.
- 30:40Speaker 2: It's not even remotely comparable. Look how much longer we're living.
- 30:46Speaker 6: Well, I would say it's comparable because people were living
- 30:51Speaker 6: healthier lives. They were... Eating organic food.
- 30:54Speaker 2: They were dying sooner. We're living longer than we've ever lived.
- 30:59Speaker 2: But they were dying sooner than we were. I mean,
- 31:02Speaker 2: there's a lot of issues back then. And you've got
- 31:05Speaker 2: to admit, technology is much better today. You're not a
- 31:08Speaker 2: spring chicken. Look at you, how feisty you are. What
- 31:11Speaker 2: are you, 85?
- 31:11Speaker 6: No, not 85. But, Ron, look, I've got to disagree
- 31:19Speaker 6: with you on this. I've always called it the evil
- 31:25Speaker 6: medical industrial complex. They're not here to make you or
- 31:29Speaker 6: me healthier. They want us to stay sick so they
- 31:34Speaker 6: can just keep charging more and more. Ron, I've been saying.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Well, now wait a minute. Now wait a minute. How
- 31:42Speaker 2: do I put this?
- 31:44Speaker 6: The inflation rate for health care has always been much higher.
- 31:49Speaker 7: Than the inflation rate.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I'm not saying, let me back up with you. Let
- 31:54Speaker 2: me just give me a few minutes. Let's talk about
- 31:59Speaker 2: health care. Hospitals open 24 hours a day, seven days
- 32:03Speaker 2: a week. So whether they're busy or not, that emergency room,
- 32:07Speaker 2: doctors are there, nurses are there, anesthesiologists are there. You've
- 32:14Speaker 2: got maintenance people there around the clock. You have the
- 32:17Speaker 2: pharmacy open, the lab open around the clock. There's a
- 32:20Speaker 2: lot of expense at a hospital just being there 24
- 32:25Speaker 2: hours a day, seven days a week, and people that
- 32:27Speaker 2: you don't even see. All the record-keeping that has to
- 32:30Speaker 2: be done. My wife once explained to me when people
- 32:33Speaker 2: would say, well, why is an aspirin, you can go
- 32:35Speaker 2: to Walmart and buy aspirin for this, and why does
- 32:38Speaker 2: it cost so much in a hospital? Well, because in
- 32:40Speaker 2: a hospital, guess what? You want an aspirin, and you're
- 32:43Speaker 2: in the hospital, the doctor has to issue an order
- 32:46Speaker 2: for that. right? That order has to go to the pharmacy.
- 32:49Speaker 2: The pharmacy has to fill it and then bring it
- 32:54Speaker 2: to the nursing station so that they give it to you.
- 32:57Speaker 2: And it all has to be recorded because it has
- 33:00Speaker 2: to be written down. They don't want you to have
- 33:02Speaker 2: an aspirin before the operation or whatever. So there's a
- 33:05Speaker 2: lot more to it on anything that goes on in
- 33:09Speaker 2: a hospital that adds to the cost of it. There's
- 33:12Speaker 2: more hands involved in getting that aspirin to you And
- 33:17Speaker 2: the record-keeping, that's the result of it. Listen, I'm the
- 33:20Speaker 2: first guy to tell you I think the cost of
- 33:23Speaker 2: health care is ridiculous. I was just looking at a
- 33:26Speaker 2: bill the other day, and this is what they charged
- 33:28Speaker 2: and this is what they settled on. The charge was so–
- 33:32Speaker 2: it was like, okay, what's the point of $ 1, 400 charge
- 33:35Speaker 2: if you settle for $ 400? Why don't you just price.
- 33:38Speaker 4: It at $ 400?
- 33:38Speaker 2: I don't get the crazy-ass pricing that they give you
- 33:44Speaker 2: that makes no sense based on what they settle. So
- 33:48Speaker 2: I'm not... I agree with you, and at the same time,
- 33:52Speaker 2: I disagree with you.
- 33:55Speaker 6: Ron, you know the United States is the only developed
- 33:59Speaker 6: country in the world where people go bankrupt because of
- 34:03Speaker 6: health care. Canada is second, but only a small amount.
- 34:08Speaker 6: And Australia, which has socialized medicine, has only a fraction...
- 34:14Speaker 6: of the people filing bankruptcy.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Right, but what's their population size in both of those
- 34:22Speaker 2: countries compared to ours? Who's going to pay for all
- 34:25Speaker 2: of this stuff? Listen, as I say, do we have
- 34:32Speaker 2: cost problems in health care? Yes. Some people argue lawyers
- 34:39Speaker 2: are part of the problem. There's many issues in health care,
- 34:43Speaker 2: but do you.
- 34:45Speaker 6: You know I analyze stocks.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I know, but I mean, when you're talking about this
- 34:49Speaker 2: kind of stuff, and this Medicare for all is craziness.
- 34:53Speaker 2: The system will go broke. How are they going to
- 34:56Speaker 2: pay for it? Hell, Medicare right now, as you know,
- 34:58Speaker 2: is in tough financial straits, just as it stands today.
- 35:01Speaker 6: When Biden was president, I called your show, said I'm
- 35:06Speaker 6: analyzing health care stocks and pharmaceuticals, And hospitals are going
- 35:12Speaker 6: bankrupt for the reason you just gave. You just gave.
- 35:17Speaker 6: Bureaucratic red tape. You have to get reimbursed for your
- 35:22Speaker 6: health care from your insurance. You've got to fill out
- 35:25Speaker 6: this form. You've got to fill out that form. They
- 35:30Speaker 6: deny you. The insurance company denies you because you forgot
- 35:35Speaker 6: to fill out a form. The bureaucratic red tape. It's
- 35:39Speaker 6: a big cost in keeping people from getting the care
- 35:44Speaker 6: they need, even if they have good health care insurance,
- 35:48Speaker 6: just like auto insurance companies.
- 35:52Speaker 2: But when you say, listen, I go to my doctor,
- 35:54Speaker 2: I don't think he's trying to kill me if he says, hey,
- 35:56Speaker 2: we'd like you to lower your cholesterol. hey, we'd like
- 36:00Speaker 2: you to lower your A1C. I mean, everything that they're
- 36:03Speaker 2: trying to do for you is to keep you around
- 36:05Speaker 2: longer so you don't become a diabetic, so you don't
- 36:08Speaker 2: get heart disease. And let's be realistic. Most of those
- 36:12Speaker 2: drugs are pretty inexpensive today to do that. Now they're saying, Frank,
- 36:18Speaker 2: that some of these people that are on the fat shot,
- 36:21Speaker 2: as Trump calls it, those whatever those shots are that
- 36:25Speaker 2: people take for diabetes, that we might actually, people might
- 36:29Speaker 2: live longer and not need knee replacements and have all
- 36:32Speaker 2: the complications of diabetes and problems because they're too fat
- 36:36Speaker 2: and too overweight.
- 36:38Speaker 6: Well, the vast majority of doctors are not in practice
- 36:43Speaker 6: because they're trying to milk you for all you're worth.
- 36:47Speaker 6: But the vast majority of doctors, their hands are tied.
- 36:52Speaker 6: They have to do what the medical, the evil medical
- 36:56Speaker 6: industrial complex tells them to do, or they could lose
- 37:00Speaker 6: their license.
- 37:01Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 37:02Speaker 6: They have no choice.
- 37:03Speaker 2: When I go to my doctor, I don't see that.
- 37:06Speaker 2: All right, enough. Thank you, my friends.
- 37:07Speaker 6: By the way, real quick, my girlfriend worked for a
- 37:10Speaker 6: doctor for 30 years. She said the same thing, bureaucratic
- 37:16Speaker 6: red tape. All right. Her boss wanted it. do this surgery,
- 37:22Speaker 6: but nope, can't do it because not approved.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that is true. I don't disagree with that.
- 37:30Speaker 2: That's the insurance companies. I totally agree with you. If
- 37:34Speaker 2: you want to talk about Medicare, that's the great thing
- 37:37Speaker 2: about Medicare. If you are on standard Medicare, forget Medicare Advantage.
- 37:42Speaker 2: You brought up a great point. If you're 65 and
- 37:45Speaker 2: you're on Medicare Advantage, you've got to go through, as
- 37:48Speaker 2: you would know, an HMO or a PPO and get pre-approval.
- 37:52Speaker 2: If you're on standard Medicare, you don't have to get
- 37:55Speaker 2: any approval at all. On standard Medicare, you don't have
- 38:01Speaker 2: to go through any of that nonsense whatsoever. On regular Medicare,
- 38:05Speaker 2: not Medicare Advantage. Regular Medicare is probably.
- 38:10Speaker 2: It's probably one of the best insurance programs around. But
- 38:12Speaker 2: you've got to pay into it before you can qualify
- 38:16Speaker 2: for it. It's a great program, regular Medicare. I personally
- 38:20Speaker 2: would never be on Medicare Advantage. I think it's a
- 38:24Speaker 2: huge mistake. All right, buddy, thank you. You're on the air.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Hey!
- 38:29Speaker 4: And I've been on the phone for 45 minutes.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Well, okay, it's Bubba Ganou. She's been on the phone
- 38:36Speaker 2: for 45 minutes. Sorry to keep you waiting, Your Highness.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Yes, and by the way, I hope that's not true
- 38:44Speaker 4: with the governor of Pennsylvania. I hope that's not true
- 38:49Speaker 4: because Sharon's looking to build a huge center there that's
- 38:54Speaker 4: going to create financial wealth for Sharon, and they're going
- 38:58Speaker 4: to be able to take care of their roads.
- 39:00Speaker 2: You know? I'm not opposed to AI as long as
- 39:04Speaker 2: there's the following conditions. Absolutely zero tax abatements, period. Zero
- 39:10Speaker 2: tax abatements. Absolutely zero increase on your electric bill. They
- 39:17Speaker 2: cannot be on the grid. They cannot create demand to
- 39:20Speaker 2: increase your electric bill because part of the reason why
- 39:23Speaker 2: your electric bill is high now is because of demand
- 39:26Speaker 2: in addition to what Obama did. But so you have.
- 39:30Speaker 4: shut down 20 plants in Ohio to create electric. That's
- 39:34Speaker 4: what you're going to get.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Right. And we all know that solar plants and windmills
- 39:40Speaker 2: aren't as effective as coal as far as stability of it.
- 39:44Speaker 2: But I go back to say this. If you can.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Have a AI center and you can power it. Like what,
- 39:56Speaker 2: who is it? It's it's which one is going in
- 39:58Speaker 2: PA where they opened up a three mile Island again. Now,
- 40:03Speaker 2: what if Obama, Obama insisted these coal plants be torn
- 40:06Speaker 2: down like Samus plant, which should have never been torn
- 40:08Speaker 2: down in Ohio. What if they would have insisted that
- 40:11Speaker 2: the nuclear plant be torn down three mile Island? Well,
- 40:14Speaker 2: guess what? Now, all these years later, they're, they're getting
- 40:17Speaker 2: it up and running again and, Who is it? I
- 40:22Speaker 2: forget which one of these great big-name companies is doing it,
- 40:26Speaker 2: getting it up and running again to power their AI center,
- 40:30Speaker 2: and the additional power can go into the grid. Well,
- 40:33Speaker 2: damn good thing they didn't destroy the place, right? Unlike
- 40:36Speaker 2: Obama that insisted that the coal plants like Samus be
- 40:39Speaker 2: torn down and destroyed because of the green energy nonsense.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 40:47Speaker 4: But here's the deal. Down in South Carolina, they're kicking
- 40:52Speaker 4: out these turbine generators to create electricity from gas, and
- 40:57Speaker 4: it also creates steam. So these electrical plants, they just
- 41:01Speaker 4: got to get these turbine plants hooked up, generate their electricity,
- 41:06Speaker 4: and add additional to the grid. It's as simple as that.
- 41:09Speaker 4: And then the water, that has to be purified. So,
- 41:13Speaker 4: you know, that was the other thing people were freaking about,
- 41:15Speaker 4: no water.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Well, I want all of these plants or these AI
- 41:20Speaker 2: centers to provide their own power. And I want all
- 41:23Speaker 2: of them to explain how the water is going to
- 41:29Speaker 2: be used and how it can be returned safely to
- 41:32Speaker 2: the system. So I think there are questions that need
- 41:36Speaker 2: to be answered. And I also want them to say,
- 41:41Speaker 2: when these data centers become obsolete because of how fast
- 41:44Speaker 2: technology moves, who is responsible for either tearing them down
- 41:49Speaker 2: or repurposing them? Because it sure as hell shouldn't be
- 41:52Speaker 2: the taxpayer when that LLC walks away from it.
- 41:56Speaker 4: Well, we can convert it into a jail for illegals. Hey, listen. Listen,
- 42:06Speaker 4: I found a great location for AI. Listen to me.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm listening.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:14Speaker 4: What? You ever drive down Wilson Avenue where the steel
- 42:18Speaker 4: mill used to be?
- 42:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:20Speaker 4: And then they told you all that brownfield all the
- 42:23Speaker 4: way to Louisville?
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Build there.
- 42:30Speaker 2: All right.
- 42:30Speaker 4: Doesn't that make sense?
- 42:31Speaker 2: I'm not opposed to it given the criteria.
- 42:35Speaker 7: What?
- 42:35Speaker 4: The city. No, I agree with all your criteria 100%.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Because I love the environment as well. And noise, too.
- 42:43Speaker 4: The environmental noise, okay? Down there, nobody's bothered. They had
- 42:48Speaker 4: steel mills down there. People ain't worried about noise.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I'm not opposed to it. I'm not opposed to it
- 42:53Speaker 2: as long as it meets those requirements. There is a
- 42:55Speaker 2: fourth requirement as well. Absolutely no Mediterranean food within 100 miles.
- 43:01Speaker 4: That's going to be the lunches down there.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Okay.
- 43:03Speaker 4: So anyhow, listen.
- 43:04Speaker 3: What?
- 43:05Speaker 4: You know how much money that Youngstown and Struthers and
- 43:09Speaker 4: Lowellville can make? I mean, we'll have a rich society
- 43:12Speaker 4: around here again.
- 43:13Speaker 2: I don't know that there's a lot of employees, but
- 43:16Speaker 2: there is a lot of maintenance that happens on these facilities.
- 43:19Speaker 2: But guess what? It will offset the homeowner's property taxes
- 43:24Speaker 2: based on they would pay a larger chunk of the
- 43:27Speaker 2: property tax because of the size of their facility, which
- 43:30Speaker 2: would lower your property taxes on your home. because they
- 43:35Speaker 2: would be picking up a lot of that share. I'm
- 43:37Speaker 2: not opposed to them, but I am opposed to them
- 43:40Speaker 2: if you're saying we're going to build them and we're
- 43:41Speaker 2: going to give them a tax abatement and we're going
- 43:44Speaker 2: to increase your electric costs or your water costs.
- 43:49Speaker 4: No, that's a Democrat or a rioter will say that.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Well, it's not a Democrat or thing to say. It's
- 43:56Speaker 2: actually happening in large parts of this country. where electric
- 44:01Speaker 2: rates have soared and water rates, too, because of AI.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Thank you, Bubba Ganoosh.
- 44:11Speaker 1: I'll be right back.
- 44:16Speaker 2: All right. On NewsRadio 570 WKBN, you're on air.
- 44:22Speaker 7: Ron, Billy Goat, how you doing, buddy?
- 44:24Speaker 2: It's a man with a Billy Goat beard that had
- 44:26Speaker 2: a hernia.
- 44:28Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 44:29Speaker 7: It's been about a month since I checked in with you,
- 44:31Speaker 7: so I figured, well, I tuned in. I figured, well,
- 44:33Speaker 7: I got to give the old boy a call, see
- 44:34Speaker 7: how he's doing.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Well, I'm still alive.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Ain't we all, brother?
- 44:39Speaker 7: Ain't we all living in this crazy world we live in,
- 44:41Speaker 7: but we're all still alive and still kicking, and that's
- 44:44Speaker 7: all that matters.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Right. I mean, you got to think every day's a blessing.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Take a look at Dolly Parton and the wonderful spirit
- 44:50Speaker 2: that she had and attitude that she had and what
- 44:53Speaker 2: a void that we have that she's no longer with us,
- 44:56Speaker 2: but it is a reminder that We were lucky she
- 44:58Speaker 2: was here when she was here and lived to be
- 45:00Speaker 2: 80 years old. But it doesn't matter how famous you are,
- 45:04Speaker 2: how much money you make, tomorrow isn't promised to enjoy
- 45:07Speaker 2: every day.
- 45:08Speaker 7: Nope, you got that right.
- 45:10Speaker 2: You got that right. See, that's why my goal here
- 45:14Speaker 2: is to get you looking good, get rid of that
- 45:16Speaker 2: stupid billy goat beard. And I got you groomed up
- 45:19Speaker 2: a little bit. I want you to meet a good woman.
- 45:21Speaker 2: And get into a loving relationship and maybe have some
- 45:27Speaker 2: children and live your life to the fullest extent.
- 45:30Speaker 7: I don't know if this world's ready for any more
- 45:32Speaker 7: of me, Ron. I don't know.
- 45:33Speaker 2: That's kind of a scary thought. You don't know. You
- 45:38Speaker 2: don't know. So that's my wish for you, man, formerly
- 45:44Speaker 2: the man with the billy goat beard with the hernia.
- 45:47Speaker 2: But I don't know how many women would want to
- 45:48Speaker 2: live in. How big is that shack you're living in?
- 45:51Speaker 7: 522 square feet.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that seems awful small.
- 45:58Speaker 7: Well, you get used to it. I mean, I lived
- 46:00Speaker 7: in a studio apartment when I first moved up here,
- 46:03Speaker 7: and that was even smaller. But, you know, you make do. Hey,
- 46:08Speaker 7: I can't beat it. With rent prices these days, I
- 46:10Speaker 7: pay $ 450 a month for rent.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Are you still gainfully employed?
- 46:15Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 7: I'm still employed.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 46:18Speaker 7: I'm still employed. I went back to work the 3rd
- 46:20Speaker 7: of August and recovering well and just taking it easy
- 46:24Speaker 7: and not doing nothing stupid.
- 46:27Speaker 2: So you've learned your lesson. You're not lifting anything too heavy.
- 46:31Speaker 2: You've been through this hernia surgery. And you'll realize the
- 46:36Speaker 2: best way to avoid a hernia... is to ask for help. Hey,
- 46:39Speaker 2: could you help me lift this? Could you help me
- 46:41Speaker 2: do this?
- 46:41Speaker 7: And don't try to be the stinking Hulk. That's all
- 46:44Speaker 7: there is to it.
- 46:45Speaker 2: I have the strength of ten men, but I still
- 46:48Speaker 2: ask for help.
- 46:49Speaker 7: Right, exactly. All right, Ron, I'll catch you on the
- 46:51Speaker 7: flip side, buddy. You take care.
- 46:53Speaker 2: God bless. It's good to hear your voice. You're on
- 46:55Speaker 2: the air.
- 46:57Speaker 3: Ronald.
- 46:58Speaker 2: It's Theodore the Conservative, a.k.a. Ted the Conservative.
- 47:02Speaker 8: Well, tell Bubba Ganoush I was on hold an hour
- 47:04Speaker 8: or so.
- 47:06Speaker 2: Quit crying.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Stop bellyaching. You know, everybody has to wait their turn.
- 47:14Speaker 7: You get me, though.
- 47:15Speaker 8: You understand when I say this.
- 47:20Speaker 2: And Ted is so proud when I say this. When
- 47:23Speaker 2: I say, listen, I can be critical of Trump, but
- 47:27Speaker 2: that doesn't mean I would have voted for Harris or Biden.
- 47:31Speaker 2: And that certainly doesn't mean I'd vote for Sherrod Brown.
- 47:34Speaker 2: A bad Donald Trump is better than a Joe Biden
- 47:38Speaker 2: or a Kamala Harris.
- 47:40Speaker 8: Yes, sir.
- 47:42Speaker 2: And John Husted is way better than Sherrod Brown. The
- 47:45Speaker 2: Democrat Party has gone crazy. Absolutely crazy.
- 47:50Speaker 8: You've come so far. I feel like my life is,
- 47:53Speaker 8: my mission is complete with you.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Do you remember that show? The guy would have the
- 47:57Speaker 2: grasshopper in his hand. Kung Fu, you know. Remember that?
- 48:00Speaker 2: With the grasshopper.
- 48:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Maybe that's the lesson. But see, in general, you've been
- 48:08Speaker 2: right about it most of the time. I cannot, when
- 48:12Speaker 2: I watch these crazies, Ted, that are winning.
- 48:15Speaker 4: When was the last time I.
- 48:15Speaker 8: Was, I think the last time I made a wrong,
- 48:18Speaker 8: I don't know. Hard to think of a state or
- 48:23Speaker 8: federal Democrat officeholder who did us any good. I don't
- 48:26Speaker 8: think I've ever been wrong on that, at least in
- 48:28Speaker 8: my lifetime. I don't know. But I'm sure I was wrong.
- 48:31Speaker 8: I'm sure there was one or two in there because
- 48:33Speaker 8: there's always the quote-unquote exception to the rule, right?
- 48:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 48:37Speaker 4: But your argument— There's some good people locally that become
- 48:41Speaker 4: the exception to the rule.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Right. But in general, you say, well, standby. Back with
- 48:46Speaker 2: Ted the Conservative. Always enjoy talking to him and more
- 48:48Speaker 2: of your calls.
- 48:49Speaker 6: 330-729-9977.
- 48:49Speaker 2: So your next five minutes could be your most.
