- 1:08Speaker 3: your host, Joe Wattis, and this first day of the
- 1:12Speaker 3: year invites us not to reinvent ourselves, but to realign
- 1:19Speaker 3: with our purpose. Instead of pressure, we choose intention. Instead
- 1:25Speaker 3: of perfection, we choose progress. We will talk about this
- 1:31Speaker 3: in this week's episode, but first we have our trivia
- 1:35Speaker 3: question of the day. Are you ready for it? Here?
- 1:39Speaker 3: It is what culture is credited with creating the earliest
- 1:45Speaker 3: known New Year's resolutions over four thousand years ago. We
- 1:51Speaker 3: will have the answer when we come back. Hey, they're

- 3:28Speaker 3: to this week's trivia question? The question was what culture
- 3:33Speaker 3: is credited with creating the earliest known New Year's resolutions
- 3:39Speaker 3: over four thousand years ago. The answer the ancient Abylonians Yes.
- 3:47Speaker 3: During their New Year's celebration, they made promises to the gods,
- 3:51Speaker 3: typically to return borrowed autumns or to pay off debts.
- 3:56Speaker 3: These were the earliest recorded resolution. It is a reminder
- 4:02Speaker 3: that humans have always sought renewal, the hope of starting fresh. Now,
- 4:10Speaker 3: you know, the turning of the calendar invites reflection, but
- 4:20Speaker 3: it doesn't demand perfection. Intentions give us gentle direction. I
- 4:28Speaker 3: want to be more present, I want to take better
- 4:31Speaker 3: care of myself. I want to create more space in
- 4:35Speaker 3: my life for joy. These intentions aren't strict rules. They
- 4:42Speaker 3: are guiding lights. They remind us who we want to
- 4:46Speaker 3: be and how we want to feel. When we set
- 4:51Speaker 3: intentions instead of rigid goals, we open the door to growth, flexibility,
- 4:57Speaker 3: and grace every step because progress every day becomes a
- 5:03Speaker 3: chance to begin again. To end this week's episode, we
- 5:19Speaker 3: have a quote from Rayner Marie Raich, and now we
- 5:26Speaker 3: come to the new year full of things that have
- 5:30Speaker 3: never been Let this year be a canvas for kindness,
- 5:36Speaker 3: a space for new light, a journey shaped not by
