- 0:30This is where I'm going to be blunt with love. You don't lack ability. You lack accountability. Eliminate your excuses completely. Fitness is not physical first. It is identity first. You cannot become a disciplined person with the identity of a procrastinator. You cannot become an athlete with the mindset of an avoider. There is no arena of your life that does not improve when your body improves. Want a better career? Lift.
- 1:00You want more confidence? Sweat. You want clarity? Move. Life doesn't slow down. Work doesn't get easier. You don't wait to get ready. You get ready by starting. Hey everyone, Kelly Siegel here and welcome back to Harder Than Life. The place where excuses come to die, discipline comes alive, and transformation becomes your new normal. Today, ooh baby,
- 1:29Today we're talking about something that will completely rewrite your 2026. It's something I'm very, very fond about. Five secrets to crush your 2026 fitness goals starting today. You know this must my jam. I don't want you starting on January 1st, not Monday, not after the holidays, not
- 1:56Today, whenever you're listening to the episode, start today. And listen, I'm not teaching this from theory. You know that. I'm teaching this because I live it. Because as of this moment, I've completed over 500 workouts this year. I think today is 522 to be exact. 500 workouts in a single year. Let that sink in. That's not a typo.
- 2:27That's not a gimmick. That's not a motivational poster. That's proof. I'm not sitting here screaming from a soapbox. I'm showing you. I'm going first. It's proof that discipline is learnable. Proof that habits compound. Proof that excuses are optional. Proof that your identity can be rebuilt from scratch.
- 2:57proof that if I can do it with my schedule, my responsibilities, my past, and yes, my age, I am now 50, then you absolutely can too. So let's get living. Let's break down the five secrets that will make 2026 the fittest, strongest, clearest, most powerful year
- 3:27Of your entire damn life. You ready? Secret number one. I know you guys are on the edge of your seat. Start before you're ready. Motivation is a liar. Discipline is the truth. Everybody wants to get in shape. But when? When life slows down. But it won't. When you feel motivated. Just won't happen. When the kids get older. Yeah. Yeah.
- 3:57When work gets easier, you're right. When I'm less stressed, yeah, that's definitely it. Folks, life doesn't slow down. Work doesn't get easier. Stress doesn't magically disappear. You don't wait to get ready. You get ready by starting. When I began my 500 workout goal,
- 4:24I didn't have the perfect plan. Heck, I didn't even think it through. I didn't even understand when I came up with the goal, it just sounded like something tough. I literally said, I work out about 360 days a year. What's another 140? It was a lot. But I just got started. I didn't have the perfect equipment. I didn't have the perfect sleep. I didn't have the perfect energy. But I started and I never looked back.
- 4:54Successful people are not more motivated. They just begin. They just get started. 2026 will belong to the person who does not wait to be in the mood. They just create the mood. Secret number two, eliminate your excuses completely. Hear me out. You're not too old. You're not too busy.
- 5:24You're not too tired. And I love this one. You are not, not a fitness person. I don't like to work out. You don't lack ability. You lack accountability. This is where I'm going to be blunt with love. If I can run NTM, host a top ranked podcast, write books, coach, create content,
- 5:53be a dad and still hit over 500 workouts, you have zero excuses. None zip zilch. I don't want to hear this. I don't have enough time. I did miss four days this year, four and it ate at me. It literally bothered me. Not because I needed perfection because I know what I'm capable of. So in 2026,
- 6:23Drum roll, please. I'm not going to do 500 more or more workouts. I'm going to work out every single day, 365 days straight. No misses, not one. Why? Because excuses are completely unacceptable. I've refused to teach my daughter how to quit. I refuse to show her.
- 6:51that quitting is even acceptable. I refuse to model mediocrity. And I refuse to let myself regress in an aversion of me that I spent years outgrowing. In 2026, I want you to adopt the same standard. Excuses drown potential. Ownership resurrects it. And let me tell you guys, listen, my workouts this year,
- 7:22I also examined where I went wrong and it's hard to say that I went wrong. When I smashed my goal, my goal was 500. I'm going to end up somewhere around 555, 55. And it's basically going to work out to be, I worked out twice every other day, but I figured out, I examined where I went wrong and the four days I missed were travel days. So I made a slight, slight tweak to my schedule and I have not missed a day since I think it was like April. So,
- 7:51Even when you're going to smash, you can still get better. You always, there's always room for improvement. And I know I hear everyone's, wow, man, when is enough enough? I don't know when I'm dead. So secret number three, small daily wins beat massive sporadic efforts. This is the consistency over intensity all day long.
- 8:19People overestimate what they can do in a week. People underestimate what they can do in a year. You don't need 90-minute workouts. You don't need perfect macros. You don't need to be a Spartan warrior. You just need consistency.
- 8:37You need tiny wins that stack like bricks because consistency turns into momentum. And speaking of those bricks, many times have you built something? Like when I started at 500 workouts, I was at 50. I was at 100. And it felt like I was so far away. But all of a sudden, I blinked my eyes and the wall was built brick by brick. And I was coming up 400, 450, 490 workouts.
- 9:07So consistency turns into momentum. Momentum turns into identity. You know what my identity was? I don't quit. And I do what I say I'm going to do. And the identity turns into a lifestyle. So before I could even think about it, when I woke up in the morning, after I did my meditation, I threw my gym clothes on, I was out the door. That's how I hit 500 workouts. Wow.
- 9:37Some days I crushed long, hard lifts. Other days I just walked really long time. Some days I really did stretching, intense stretching. Some days I got 30 minutes in, but I showed up every single day. In 2026, your goal is not perfection. Your goal is momentum. If you can win the day,
- 10:06Each day, you'll win the year. Feel me? You guys picking this up? Secret number four, train your identity, not just your body. This one is so huge. Most people fail because they're trying to get fit with the same identity that made them unfit. You cannot become a disciplined person with the identity of a procrastinator.
- 10:35You cannot become an athlete with the mindset of an avoider. You cannot become consistent with the identity of I always fall off. Or you cannot be radically accountable when you're constantly making excuses. I didn't hate those 500 workouts because I'm strong.
- 10:57I hit 500 workouts because I became the person who never negotiate with himself. I don't negotiate with my goals. I just hit him. Fitness is not physical first. It is identity first. When you start saying, I'm a fit person who works out daily. I'm someone who honors promises to myself.
- 11:24I'm someone with a strong mind and stronger body. And this one's a killer. I love myself, therefore I will follow through. Your actions will follow. Your identity drives your behavior. Behavior drives results. Results reinforce that identity. That loop will change your entire life, I promise you. It actually is the same loop for negativity.
- 11:53just in reverse. Don't go that way. Secret number five is create a system so simple you cannot fail. And guys, remember what system stands for. Save yourself time, energy, and money. So keep it simple. Segal, the KISS method.
- 12:17Keep it simple, stupid. Keep it simple, silly. I don't know. I just say keep it simple, seagull, because I have a way of overcomplicating everything until I write it down for all y'all. So the people who fail have complicated plans. The people who win have simple system. Here's mine. And feel free to steal it. What I do is,
- 12:42I always steal somebody else's and I make it better. So number one is I wake up. Before the world gets you, you get you. Hydrate. A dehydrated body is a tired body. Move within the first 90 minutes. Walk, lift, stretch, bike, just move. Remember, I also get my meditation in. Do the hard things first. That's what number one was about.
- 13:10Number four, schedule the next workout. Mine is the first thing in the morning, 5 a.m. every single day. If it's not on the calendar, it does not exist. If you open my calendar, it's on my calendar. 5 a.m., done. Track these workouts daily. What gets measured gets mastered. And this, what I'm about to tell you is the single most important thing. No zero days. Even 10 minutes counts.
- 13:40I don't care what it is. Walk. I remember my girlfriend walking around the airport terminal to get exercise on a day that she could not train.
- 13:53Now at Lowe's, faster quotes start at the Lowe's Pro Desk. Got a material list handwritten on a sticky note or saved as a photo? Perfect. Bring it to us and get a quote in minutes. - 14:24That structure is why I can confidently say in 2026, I'm working out every single day. Not for vanity, not for the mirror, not for Instagram, for discipline, for leadership, for identity, for my daughter, for my community, all y'all, Heart of Life Nation, yay yay, for my damn soul. When your system is simple,
- 14:54and your standard is non-negotiable, you become unstoppable and unbreakable. I'm gonna throw you guys a little bonus on why your 2026 body will change your entire life. You guys ready for this? I've said it before, I think I said at the beginning of this episode, you look good, you feel good, you do good. So a better body equals better energy.
- 15:21better discipline, better leadership, better presence, better business decisions, better parenting, better sleep, better mental health, which means more patience. This one is huge. Better emotional resilience. Someone throws something at you, you don't have to freaking catch it. There is no arena of your life
- 15:52that does not improve when your body improves. You want a better career? Lift. You want more confidence? Sweat. You want clarity? Move. You want emotional regulation? Get your heart rate up. You want happiness? Choose your body. And you look in the mirror,
- 16:17You'll be proud. You'll love the shit out of yourself. And you'll thank me. Fitness is the cornerstone of becoming harder, happier, and healthier than life. Which, by the way, will be the name of my third book. I haven't decided when I'm going to start writing it. But I got an idea. So in closing, your 2026 begins today.
- 16:44Heart of the life nation. This is the year you stop wanting results and start earning them. Again, don't, you don't need to wait till January 1st. You don't need a new plan. I just gave it to you. You don't need to hire a new trainer. You don't need a new schedule. You don't need anything. You just need to make a decision, a decision that today you become the person who trains daily, uh,
- 17:15keeps promises, eliminates excuses, builds momentum, and crushes their 2026 fitness goals. Not next year, not Monday, today. Become the proof, become the possibility, become the pressure your future self needs.
- 17:39I can do 500 plus workouts. If I can push for every single day in 2026, you can too. And I'm damn proud of you. This episode fired you up.
