- 1:02to the cove. We brought our beach toys because Aqua
- 1:06loves to play Aqua Aqua, I called. I didn't see
- 1:11Aqua anywhere. Wow, look at that, said Peter. He pointed
- 1:15to a ship in the cove. There were two men
- 1:17on deck. They don't look like regular sailors. I said,
- 1:22that's because it's a pirate ship. Peter said. The pirates
- 1:26were yelling. Are mine are better? Yelled one y Are
- 1:31mine are much better? Yelled the other. I'm scared, Peter said.
- 1:37I shivered. I was also scared. Suddenly I heard a noise.
- 1:43It was a scream, and it was coming from the ship.
- 1:45That sounds like Aqua. I said. She must have been
- 1:48captured by the evil pirates. Yike, said Peter. I hope
- 1:53they don't make her walk the plank. I knew I
- 1:55had to be brave. Aqua won't to walk the plank,
- 1:58I said, because were going to save her. Peter went pale.
- 2:03What about the pirates, he asked. I looked at my kite.
- 2:08It gave me an idea. I shared my plan with Peter.
- 2:12I tried to fly my kite, but the wind was
- 2:14very strong. Help me, I said to Peter. He held
- 2:18the kite strain with me. Together we ran toward the ship. Suddenly,
- 2:23the kite was swept up by the wind. Kite's ahoy,
- 2:26I said, My kite flew into the pirates and tangled
- 2:30them all up, just as I had planned. Er yelled,
- 2:35the pirates were stuck. Peter and I waded through the
- 2:38water and sneaked up the ship's ladder. Peter put his
- 2:42buckets over the pirates' heads. Lem Me, I can't see,
- 2:47said the captain. Quick we have to find Aqua, I
- 2:50said to Peter. We looked everywhere for Aqua, but all
- 2:54we saw was a parrot. The parrot landed on my shoulder.
- 2:58Cookie screamed, Cookie. My eyes wined. It was the scream
- 3:04we heard before. Peter glared at me. That is not Aqua.
- 3:08He said, Oh dear, I said, heave ho, let's us go.
- 3:13The pirates yelled, what do we do? Peter squeaked. Suddenly
- 3:18I heard a familiar voice. Ahoy, pink Delicious. It was Aqua. Sorry,
- 3:24I'm late. I've been looking for you too. Aqua called
- 3:27up from the ocean. Did you meet my friend, Captain
- 3:30pink Beard? Your friend, I repeated. Ooh, blimy, said Peter. Quickly.
- 3:38We set the pirates free. We're good pirates, they told us.
- 3:42Then why were you yelling before? I asked Captain pink Beard.
- 3:47The first maid and I were having a disagreement, he said.
- 3:51The captain opened a treasure chest. A yummy smell came
- 3:54out of it. The chest was filled with cookies. The
- 3:58pirates baked the best treats on the high seas, said Aqua.
- 4:02What was your disagreement about, I asked. I think our
- 4:05new cookie should have pink sprinkles, said the captain. Well,
- 4:09I like purple sprinkles, said the first mate. You are
- 4:13in luck, said Peter. Pink Delicious is a cookie expert.
- 4:18We went down to the galley where the pirates made cookies.
- 4:21I decorated the cookies with pink and purple sprink sprinkles.
- 4:26You can never have too many sprinkles, I said. The
- 4:28pirates tasted my cookies. That's true, said Captain pink Beard.
- 4:34Cookies for everyone, said Captain pink beerd Now, your cookies
- 4:39are perfect, just the way they are, I said. Our

- 5:54my eyes itched, my throat felt scratchy. Look cute, shoo,
- 6:01but wheo. Daddy took my temperature. You have a fever.
- 6:05He said, no school for you today. He tucked me

- 6:27woke up feeling a bit better, but I still had
- 6:29the sniffles. I looked in the mirror. My nose was
- 6:33perfectly pink. Mommy came in with pink tea. My mom
- 6:37used to make this for me when I was sick.
- 6:39She said, it's elder berry tea. I took a sip. Yum.
- 6:45I got to stay in my pajamas all day. Mommy
- 6:47brought me crowns and eye colored in bed. I drew

- 6:54from work to see how I was. He told me
- 6:57a joke to make me laugh. Why do the pink
- 6:59pain to go to the doctor's office because she was pink.
- 7:03I giggled, but I was still a little sad because
- 7:06I wasn't at school. I would not be able to
- 7:08share the joke at recess. In the afternoon, the phone rang.
- 7:13It was Principal Heart. I'm home sick too. She said,
- 7:17when you come back, you can still be principal for
- 7:20the day. I felt a pink a million times better
- 7:24than Peter. Came home guess what I did today, I said,
- 7:29I colored and I read books. Mommy made me pink
- 7:32tea and I didn't even have to get dressed. I
- 7:35want to be sick, too, said Peter. Then he smelled
- 7:38my cold medicine. Yuck. Forget it, he said. I giggled.
- 7:43The next morning, my nose was a normal color and
- 7:45I felt all better. Your temperature is normal. Mommy said,
- 7:49you can go to school today. Yay, I cheered. When

- 8:37the souvenirs Peter asked. I wanted a closer look, but
- 8:41the cart was moving fast. When I reached the cart,
- 8:44I picked up a tiny Eiffel tower. This is pink, adorable.
- 8:48I said, how much does it cost? Four euros? The
- 8:52saleswoman said, mommy. I called out, now, I have four
- 8:57euros please. I looked around, but I didn't see mommy. Peter.

- 9:08nowhere to be found. I was lost in Paris. I
- 9:12was beginning to get worried when I saw a clothing
- 9:14shop nearby. It was called the Boutique Rose. That must
- 9:18mean the pink shop in French. I love French fashion.
- 9:22Maybe my family was looking for me in the Boutique bonjour.
- 9:26I'm Belle, said the shop owner. I see you have

- 9:49Bell asked, I can't find my family. I said, my
- 9:53chop window has a good view of Paris. Bell said,
- 9:56maybe you can find them. I climbed into the window. Look,
- 10:01said a girl standing outside. It's a live mannequin. Then
- 10:04I spotted something purple in the crowd. Was it Mommy's dress?
- 10:10I ran after the purple dress, but when I got closer,
- 10:12my heart sank. It wasn't mommy. I sat down on
- 10:15a bench by a bakery. Cheer up. The baker said,
- 10:19have a bag at He handed me a long, skinny
- 10:22loaf of bread. It gave me an idea. I stood
- 10:25on a bench and held the loaf up high. Now
- 10:28my family could spot me in the crowd. My stomach
- 10:31started to growl. The bread smelled yummy. I took just
- 10:34one bite, then another. It was so fantastic that I
- 10:39ate it all oops. I said, how would my family
- 10:43find me? Now I saw a girl with her mom.
- 10:46I started to cry. I missed my mommy. Beau sure,
- 10:50I mean lease? The girl said, are you okay? I
- 10:53remembered something Mommy taught me. You get lost, ask a
- 10:57mother which with a child for help. I can't find
- 11:00my family, I said, where did you last see them?
- 11:03Elise's mom asked in ly at the Eiffel tier. I said,
- 11:08that's a good place to wait for them. Elisea's mom said,
- 11:11we'll take you back there. I went with Elise and
- 11:14her mom back to the ticket line. Mommy, Daddy, Peter.
- 11:18I shouted, pink Delicious. Peter shouted back, we were so worried.
- 11:24Mommy said, I remember to ask a mother with the
- 11:27child for help. I said, we're proud of you. Daddy said,
- 11:32thank you for your help. Mommy said to Elise and
- 11:34her mom, you're welcome. Elise's mom said, would you like
- 11:39to join us for a pick nick in Paris? The

- 12:20came over to play. Molly was having a mysterious photer.
- 12:24What is in there? I asked. There are pictures of
- 12:26designer clothing and fashion shows that I've collected from magazines.
- 12:31Molly explained, those are beautiful outfits. Rose said, I want
- 12:35dresses like that. I said, Mommy has a dress like
- 12:39that one in the picture. Let's look in her closet.
- 12:42I said, we can have her own fashion show. Just
- 12:45then mommy came in. What are you doing? Mommy asked,
- 12:49my clothes are not for playtime. We're fashion designers. I said,
- 12:54Please use your imaginations, not my clothing, said Mommy. Uh,
- 13:00imaginary clothes, said Rose. Please play in your room, not
- 13:04my closet, said mommy. We looked at the pictures again.
- 13:08I like those shoes with bows. I said. The bows
- 13:11look like pasta, said Molly. I have an idea. I said,
- 13:15we need glue. I said, let's get twist ties, said Rose.
- 13:20Don't forget the glitters, said Mollie. What are you doing?
- 13:23Asked Peter. Can I do it too? I thought about it.
- 13:28You can be a photographer, I said yes. He yelled,
- 13:32say cupcake and smile. The doorbell rang. My friend's mothers
- 13:36were here to pick them up. Have a seat, said mommy.
- 13:40The girls have a surprise for you. Are you ready,
- 13:43asked my friends. It's showtime. Welcome to our fashion show.
- 13:48Rose said, as we prayed into the living room. We

- 14:07Peter's camera? Bravo Roses. Mom cheered, show off your outfits
- 14:12and twirl. We twirled faster and faster. Paper ribbons and
- 14:16cupcake liners went flying. Peter got closer and closer, trying
- 14:20to get the perfect picture. Pop pop pop. My dress
- 14:26was ruined. I almost started to cry, but then I
- 14:28heard clapping. Marvelous. Molly's mommy said, you made a dress
- 14:34that can be worn two different ways, and now we
- 14:36can see your sparkly macaroni shoes. If you stick with it,
- 14:40she said, you'll have a career in fashion. I love
- 14:43how you use food in your designs. Oh yes, I said,
- 14:48I was inspired. I smiled and grabbed my sketchbook. I
- 14:52had an idea A cupcake dress. I wonder if I
- 14:55could use real frosting. Our next book is titled Pink
- 15:00Delicious Cherry Blossom and it was published by Harper and
- 15:03Print of Harper Collins Publishers. It has a copyright year
- 15:07of twenty fifteen and the author is Victoria Can. I
- 15:11woke up one morning and couldn't believe my nose. I
- 15:14could smell it, I could fill it. Spring was in
- 15:17the air. This could mean only one thing. It is
- 15:21time for the cherry blossom. Is it time for the
- 15:24cherry Blossom Festival? I asked tomorrow? Mommy said I couldn't wait.
- 15:29I love seeing the trees in full bloom. It was
- 15:32the pinkst day of the year. I'm going to fly
- 15:35kite at the festival this year, I said. Do you
- 15:38know how to fly kite? Asked Peter. I shrugged. I
- 15:41can try. I practiced all day, but had no luck
- 15:45at all. I could not get my cherry blossom kite
- 15:47off the ground. Keep trying, Mommy said, practice makes perfect.
- 15:53The next day we skipped all the way to the festival.
- 15:55The blossoms were more fantastic than ever. I picked out
- 15:59a to fly my kite. Here goes, I said, I
- 16:03started to run. There was a big gust of wind.
- 16:07That's it, I yelled more. When more the breeze got stronger,
- 16:11cherry blossom swirled around me. Wait, I said, I can't see.
- 16:17The wind stopped blowing, the pedal stopped swirling. I rubbed
- 16:20my eyes and blinked. I looked different. Where was I? Hello?
- 16:24Said a girl. My name is Secura. I'm pinklicious, I said.
- 16:29Come on, said Secura, the festival is starting soon. Can
- 16:33you help me hang these lanterns. Secura picked up a
- 16:37lantern with a cherry blossom on it. This one is
- 16:40like my name, she said, Secura mean cherry blossom in Japanese.
- 16:45I picked up a bright pink lantern. This one makes
- 16:48me think of my name too, I laughed. Soon a
- 16:51parade went by. There were drums, there were dancers, there
- 16:55were colors everywhere. Try some mo, she said, Secura. She
- 17:00gave me a pink rice cake filled with strawberry ice cream.
- 17:04I couldn't believe it. It was almost as yummy as
- 17:07a cupcake. I looked up at the sky and spotted
- 17:11kites all around. I get a little sad. I wish
- 17:14I knew how to fly one Secura understood. Sometimes the
- 17:18friend can help, she said. She picked up the kite.
- 17:21I held the string. We ran together. There was a
- 17:25gust of wind. Secura let go of the kite. It
- 17:27went up in the air. Keep running, she called. My
- 17:32legs went faster and faster. Suddenly I was surrounded by
- 17:35a swirl of petals. I was back in pink fill.
- 17:38My kite was still flying. It was soaring high. Pink
- 17:42wish as you did it, Mommy and Daddy cheered. Peter
- 17:46looked surprised. How did you get so good at this?
- 17:50He asked. I looked at my kite and smiled. I
- 17:53got some help from a friend. I said, thank you. Secure,
- 17:57I whispered. Her next focus titled Pinklicious and the Perfect Present,
- 18:02and it was published by Harper an imprint of Harper
- 18:05Collins Publishers has a copywriter of twenty fourteen and the
- 18:09author's Victoria can. Mommy and I were riding our bike
- 18:13when I saw something ahead that looked like it might
- 18:16be fun. Look, Mommy, I said, there's a yard sell.
- 18:20You might find a vase. I might find some pretty jewelry.
- 18:23Let's go find some treasures. Mommy smiled. Maybe I'll find
- 18:27a book for us to read together. She said, here
- 18:30are two dollars to buy yourself a present, said mommy,
- 18:34I'm Sally, said the yard, So lady, let me know
- 18:36if you need any help. Then I saw my friend Molly, Hi, pinklicious.
- 18:41Molly called, where do you think I can find some fish?
- 18:45Next I saw my friend Lilah. She had on a dress,
- 18:48a necklace, a hat, and big sunglasses. They were all purple.
- 18:53I tried on Lilah's feather. Boa Hello, Darling, I said,
- 18:57don't you just love the opera? Molly found some fishing treasures,
- 19:02a lot of found dress up treasures. I hadn't found
- 19:05anything interesting that I was ever going to find my
- 19:08own treasure. I needed a plan, I know, I said,
- 19:11I'll look for pink. All of a sudden, I saw
- 19:14pink everywhere. Now I had lost to choose from. I
- 19:17could hardly carry it all. You need this pink wagon
- 19:21to carry your collection, said Sally. This hat is perfectly pink. Horrific,
- 19:26I said, and twisted to my left. This tea set
- 19:30would be pink fantastic for a party, I said, and
- 19:33twirled to my right. Woops, Now I'm dizzy, Wow, look
- 19:38at that, I gasped. I saw something that was better
- 19:41than all the rest. It was pink perfect. It was
- 19:45a pink tastic music box. I know this song, I said,
- 19:49Mommy sings it to me. At that time, I found
- 19:52something amazing. I had finally found a treasure. I didn't
- 19:56want the tea set, I didn't want the hat. I
- 19:59wanted the music box, but not for me. How much
- 20:02is this, I asked? Two dollars, said Salie, it would
- 20:06be a surprise for mommy. Then I thought of a problem.
- 20:09Ooh oh, I said, I whispered in Sally's ear. HM
- 20:15let me think, said Sallie. I've got it. Sally said,
- 20:20take this O purse for free and hide the gift inside.
- 20:23Mommy will think I got the purse and won't see
- 20:26the present. Thanks, Sally, I said. The next morning, I
- 20:29got up early. I made a card that said I
- 20:32love you. I wrapped the present. Mommy came in with
- 20:35her coffee. I hid behind a sofa. What is this,
- 20:39Mommy asked. She had unwrapped my present and was holding
- 20:42up the music box. I jumped out and yelled, surprise,
- 20:46Look what I got for you. It's a music box. Listen.
- 20:50I turned the key. Oh my, it's my favorite song.
- 20:53Mommy said, I told you we find a treasure at
- 20:56the yard. Cell I said, Mommy gave me a hug.
- 21:00Sometimes the best presents are the ones you give. Our

- 21:26Our team is called the Pinksters. They are the Ravens.
- 21:30Pink soccer balls are for babies, said Kendra. Tiffany said,

- 21:41But I kept hearing Tiffany say pink stinks. I'll show
- 21:44her pink does not stink, I said to Rose. The
- 21:48ball came to me, I kicked it. It went too short.

- 22:15The ball felled up high. I heard pink stinks inside
- 22:19my head. I had to get that ball. As I
- 22:22ran to the ball, Go Delicious galloped toward me. She
- 22:26scooped me up on her back. We left the park
- 22:29far below. We flew across the sky. We saw girls
- 22:34playing soccer all over the world. We flew to the
- 22:37pink sands of Egypt. I made a great pass. I
- 22:40did a corner kick to Spain. Then Zoya Rosa, a girl,
- 22:45said to me, that's think pink in Spanish. Cherry blossom

- 24:09such thing as a pink dog, said Peter. The next day,
- 24:12when the bell rang, I rushed open the door. Hello, Pinky,
- 24:16it's nice to meet you. I'm pinklicious, I said. Pinky
- 24:20didn't bark, she didn't lick my hand when I tried
- 24:22to pet her, she hid. Pinky needs time to get
- 24:26used to you, said missus Rassell. I hope Pinky gets
- 24:29used to me soon. I want to play with her.
- 24:31I said, you have to get Pinky to trust you,
- 24:35said mommy. There must be something I can do, I said,
- 24:38I trust to make friends. Pinky just hid under the sofa.
- 24:43She did not come out. Pinky didn't come out for
- 24:46a ball, She didn't come out to see your bed.
- 24:48She didn't even come out for a dog treat. I
- 24:50made her try taking Pinky outside, said mommy. I picked
- 24:54up Pinky and carried her to the backyard. Everything scared her,
- 24:58even butterflies. Worse of all, Pinky was scared of me.
- 25:02We went back inside, but I didn't give up. I
- 25:05tried to see things from Pinky's point of view. Everything
- 25:08looks bigger when you crawl on the floor. Poor Pinky
- 25:12had the blues. The next day. I got an idea.
- 25:14I know what I'd like to do when I feel blue,
- 25:17I told Pinky. Pinky watched me feel the tub. Her
- 25:21tail wagged. You must like bubbles too, I said. Pinky
- 25:25jumped into the tub. She snapped at the bubbles. Oops,
- 25:29Mommy's bottle of pink spilled into the tub. The water
- 25:32turns bright pink. Pink bubbles slashed all over. Pinky snapped
- 25:37at the bubbles. Pinky was very happy. When Pinky got
- 25:41out of the tub, she was pink. Pinky looked at
- 25:44her paws, then she turned around fast to see her tail.
- 25:47Pinky looked fantastic, she howed, and I how to. Pinky
- 25:52was so happy. She let me pet her, and she
- 25:55even let me put bows in her fur. I told
- 25:58my family what happened. Now, the real is such a
- 26:00thing as a pink dog, I said. Pinky locked Peter
- 26:03in the face. Oo, said Peter. I hope the Rastles
- 26:08like Pink. Mommy said. Pinky is happy because she is
- 26:11now as beautiful as her name. I said. The rest
- 26:15of the week went quickly. Pink and I took long
- 26:17walks and plate fetch. We chase butterflies too. The Rastles
- 26:21were surprised to see their fantastic dog. Pinky is a
- 26:25pink goodle. Now. I wonder if Pinky will stay pink,
- 26:29said mister Razzle. I gave them a bar of green
- 26:33soap wash Pinky. With this, she will turn back to normal,
- 26:36I said. Also gave the Razzles the ribbons. Pinky likes Pink,
- 26:40I said. Maybe Pinky just likes you, said missus Rassele. Someday,
- 26:45I hope I have a dog like Pinky. For now,
- 26:47I'm just glad I helped make her happy. This concludes
