- 1:12Speaker 6: MUSIC What's up, and welcome to Movie Meltdown's Attack of
- 1:35Speaker 6: the Killers soundtrack. I'm Brian, and I'm coming to you
- 1:38Speaker 6: live via digital recording from the outskirts of Fourcastle. Yes,
- 1:43Speaker 6: once again, we return to Fourcastle Music Festival here in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 1:47Speaker 6: And to kick things off, I think I will go with...
- 1:50Speaker 6: band that I showed up the first night specifically to see.
- 1:54Speaker 6: When Run the Jewels is playing, you gotta come see
- 1:56Speaker 6: Run the Jewels. This might not be everyone's style. I
- 1:59Speaker 6: know it's probably less than often that I spill over
- 2:02Speaker 6: into the rap area, but if it's not your bag,
- 2:04Speaker 6: hang in there. We're gonna change gears in a minute,
- 2:06Speaker 6: but I like to broaden our meltdown horizon. So this
- 2:10Speaker 6: would be the titular Run the Jewels from Baby Driver,
- 2:14Speaker 6: which I also happened to see this weekend.
- 2:16Speaker 5: I'm messing your seatbelt.
- 2:18Speaker 15: Are you fucking kidding me?
- 2:19Speaker 5: Run! Run!
- 2:20Speaker 16: Run!
- 2:21Speaker 5: Run!
- 2:34Speaker 8: Oh, dear, what the fuck have we here?
- 2:36Speaker 3: These motherfuckers all throwing no balls.
- 2:37Speaker 7: These guys with a bad dream better not sleep.
- 2:39Speaker 5: They can know those dudes from flow.
- 2:41Speaker 17: Oh, shit, what the hell have we done?
- 2:42Speaker 3: It's alive in this hungry-ass park. Better hide all the
- 2:44Speaker 3: snacks in the dough.
- 2:45Speaker 17: When it's out of my control, you will shit out
- 2:46Speaker 17: my plot.
- 2:47Speaker 8: I don't want to be unfair with the pair.
- 2:48Speaker 3: We got beat that weak shit.
- 2:49Speaker 8: You got good spot.
- 2:50Speaker 5: With that new vibe.
- 2:51Speaker 17: Who's drive?
- 2:52Speaker 8: Squabble that.
- 2:52Speaker 17: I don't want to.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Sound unkind, but the sounds I make are the sounds
- 2:55Speaker 3: of the hounds out of Holland. Under your bed, I'm
- 2:57Speaker 3: here growling. Same time under the blanket, you're cowering.
- 2:59Speaker 8: Cowering like cowards cowering on concrete showers on Rikers Island. Victims,
- 3:03Speaker 8: we the wolves as well, and we all for smiling
- 3:05Speaker 8: at sites of violence. Acting brave and courageous ain't advantageous
- 3:08Speaker 8: for health and safety. So when we say run, the
- 3:10Speaker 8: Jews just run them, baby, please don't delay me. And
- 3:12Speaker 8: that goes for a guy, lady, the fam, goddamn, we
- 3:14Speaker 8: fucking crazy.
- 3:24Speaker 8: .
- 3:39Speaker 15: .
- 3:49Speaker 17: Ay, ay, and the crowd chants, get that paper.
- 3:52Speaker 3: And the mob says, kill that witch. This city get
- 3:54Speaker 3: mad at a match, better wave how they buy to
- 3:55Speaker 3: the high-spray kids.
- 3:56Speaker 16: Get a tin for a half of the rainin'. Hot
- 3:58Speaker 16: water from the roof to the basement.
- 3:59Speaker 8: I'ma smoke to the.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Planet erasin'. Build a white flag out of zigzags wavin'..
- 4:03Speaker 8: All day I'm smokin' coffins. Sibling on the bean like Boston.
- 4:06Speaker 8: My young bitch here fine like Henry when she make
- 4:08Speaker 8: that movie coffin. But when my wife in town ate
- 4:10Speaker 8: Jackie Brown, just stay up off me. Cause if they don't,
- 4:13Speaker 8: somebody get shot and they gon' buy a coffin.
- 4:15Speaker 3: With the pull of a pen, the grenade in the
- 4:17Speaker 3: crowd that they feedin' is sold to adoption.
- 4:18Speaker 5: I'm a fool for the win, I've.
- 4:19Speaker 7: Been made to be lied by these other guys grindin'
- 4:21Speaker 7: and softenin'. In.
- 4:22Speaker 3: The urn of the dirt, get tossed in. With a
- 4:23Speaker 3: grin of a smirk, it'll cost it.
- 4:25Speaker 5: I'm a sin on a verse like a kid.
- 4:26Speaker 3: In a hearse or a nun in a cum shot,
- 4:27Speaker 3: stop it.
- 4:28Speaker 8: Big beast in the cage with a heart for the rage,
- 4:29Speaker 8: it seems I can't behave. You can try till you die,
- 4:32Speaker 8: oh well, you fail, this ain't the world, can't be saved.
- 4:34Speaker 8: These streets is full with the wolves that starve for
- 4:36Speaker 8: the weak, so they after the weak. In a land
- 4:38Speaker 8: for the lambs I am, and I be damned, won't
- 4:40Speaker 8: show my teeth.
- 4:40Speaker 5: Run the jewels, jewels, jewels, jewels, jewels.
- 4:52Speaker 18: Run the jewels, jewels, jewels, jewels, jewels.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Hey, hey, hey.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Alright, now this year they have a pretty impressive lineup
- 5:35Speaker 6: of bands here at Fourcastle. Some pretty big headliners, and
- 5:39Speaker 6: some cool up-and-coming acts, and a few that I've crossed
- 5:42Speaker 6: over with in the past. One of those is Cage
- 5:45Speaker 6: the Elephant, who are a pretty entertaining band in and
- 5:49Speaker 6: of themselves, and since last time I saw them, they've
- 5:52Speaker 6: actually turned up on a soundtrack that I referenced on
- 5:54Speaker 6: this very show not that long ago, and from a
- 5:58Speaker 6: movie I enjoyed quite a bit. This is Trouble by
- 6:01Speaker 6: Cage the Elephant from the Edge of Seventeen soundtrack.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Trouble by Cage the Elephant.
- 6:43Speaker 19: We were at the table by the window with the
- 6:47Speaker 19: view Casting shadows, the sun was pushing through Spoke a
- 6:56Speaker 19: lot of words, I don't know if I spoke the
- 6:59Speaker 19: truth Got so much to lose, got so much.
- 7:05Speaker 20: To prove God don't let me lose my mind Trouble
- 7:14Speaker 20: on my left.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Trouble on my right.
- 7:16Speaker 16: I've been facing trouble almost all my life My sweet.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Love, won't you pull me through Everywhere.
- 7:23Speaker 17: I look I catch a glimpse of.
- 7:25Speaker 5: You I said it was love.
- 7:46Speaker 19: Will it come to pass, or will I pass the test?
- 7:52Speaker 19: You know what they say, yeah, that we can't get
- 7:56Speaker 19: no rest.
- 7:59Speaker 5: You can have my heart, any place.
- 8:02Speaker 16: Any time.
- 8:04Speaker 20: Got so much to do, got so much to prove.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Don't let me lose my mind. Trouble on my left,
- 8:16Speaker 5: trouble on my right.
- 8:18Speaker 16: I've been facing trouble almost all my life.
- 8:23Speaker 5: My sweet love, won't.
- 8:25Speaker 6: You pull me through?
- 8:26Speaker 5: Everywhere I look, I catch a glimpse of you. I
- 8:29Speaker 5: said it was love, and it didn't feel like it
- 8:33Speaker 5: did to you. Trouble on my left, trouble on my right.
- 8:50Speaker 5: I've been facing trouble all my life.
- 8:52Speaker 17: My sweet love, won't you pull me through?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Everywhere I look, I catch.
- 8:57Speaker 5: A glimpse of you. I said it was love, and
- 9:00Speaker 5: I did it for love.
- 9:02Speaker 17: I did it for you.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Got so much to lose. Got so much to prove.
- 9:31Speaker 19: God, don't let me lose my mind.
- 9:36Speaker 5: One of us is in deep trouble.
- 9:47Speaker 6: Yeah, the lead singer for the old elephant there, Matt Schultz,
- 9:51Speaker 6: he is quite an energetic frontman. Eventually, he was running
- 9:55Speaker 6: around stage with his shirt off, and I can't really
- 9:58Speaker 6: blame him because it's been a little time. out here
- 10:00Speaker 6: this weekend. But yeah, he was all over the stage,
- 10:03Speaker 6: putting on quite a show, and I guess that's what
- 10:06Speaker 6: you come here for. Now next, we are going to
- 10:09Speaker 6: meet this week's special guests, and they are awesome. I
- 10:12Speaker 6: will be talking with the band Repeat Repeat. Now, I
- 10:15Speaker 6: won't bother going into their history and their sound, because
- 10:19Speaker 6: we're going to talk about all that with them in
- 10:21Speaker 6: just a minute. But what I will tell you, so
- 10:24Speaker 6: you know what I'm referencing in a minute here when
- 10:26Speaker 6: I'm talking to them, is that I was reading the
- 10:29Speaker 6: backstory on the band, and as they were coming together,
- 10:32Speaker 6: they knew more or less what kind of style they
- 10:35Speaker 6: were going for, musically speaking, and Jared and Andy had
- 10:38Speaker 6: decided that the sound they needed also needed a female singer.
- 10:43Speaker 6: And they ended up going through a lot of girls
- 10:45Speaker 6: and trying to find the right voice. Meanwhile, Kristen, Jared's wife,
- 10:49Speaker 6: was right there. She was, I assume, with him in
- 10:53Speaker 6: the normal day-to-day couple capacity. And he's been a musician
- 10:58Speaker 6: his whole life, so I would assume he knew Kristen
- 11:01Speaker 6: was also musically inclined. Oh yeah, and has a great voice.
- 11:06Speaker 6: So as I read this, I thought it was so
- 11:08Speaker 6: funny that while he was looking so hard to find
- 11:11Speaker 6: a co-lead front person for his band, she's sitting right
- 11:15Speaker 6: there next to him. I just thought that was really
- 11:17Speaker 6: funny and kind of how it usually goes. Sometimes you
- 11:21Speaker 6: overlook the simplest of answers, even when they're right there
- 11:24Speaker 6: in front of you. So that's what I'm referencing when
- 11:27Speaker 6: we get to that part of the discussion, and you'll
- 11:29Speaker 6: hear them give their take on how all that came together.
- 11:32Speaker 6: And also, just to note, Yes, Misty is a slacker,
- 11:36Speaker 6: and she doesn't leave the house that much, and definitely
- 11:39Speaker 6: didn't want to be out in the heat and other people,
- 11:42Speaker 6: and you know how she is. But it's a shame,
- 11:45Speaker 6: because for this segment that she's not in, we bring
- 11:48Speaker 6: her up quite a bit, plus we found her new
- 11:51Speaker 6: best friend. And with that, let's go right now and
- 11:54Speaker 6: hang out with our new favorite band, Repeat Repeat.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Since we do our own podcast, we tell guests all
- 12:16Speaker 3: the time to do the same thing.
- 12:18Speaker 6: I spend half my time going, get, no, no, get back.
- 12:20Speaker 6: They're like way over here.
- 12:22Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 12:23Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Microphones. You know how to work microphones?
- 12:26Speaker 3: I was still, I did some like, I actually was like,
- 12:28Speaker 3: read about it and I went back in and I
- 12:29Speaker 3: was like trying to, you know, get prepared for it.
- 12:32Speaker 3: So I get excited about podcast stuff.
- 12:33Speaker 5: All right.
- 12:34Speaker 6: Well, good to know you're, you're on board anyway. You're
- 12:36Speaker 6: part of the podcasting family.
- 12:37Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Well, I guess introduce yourself so that way they can
- 12:41Speaker 6: ID your voices. I'm assuming one of you will be
- 12:43Speaker 6: a little easier to ID, but okay. So tell everyone
- 12:46Speaker 6: your names.
- 12:46Speaker 3: We are repeat, repeat a band out of Nashville, Tennessee.
- 12:50Speaker 3: My name is Jared quarter. I'm Kristen quarter and I'm
- 12:54Speaker 3: Andy Heron.
- 12:55Speaker 22: All right.
- 12:56Speaker 6: And then as I started, like, getting into and learning
- 12:59Speaker 6: about your band. It's like, initially it was like sort
- 13:02Speaker 6: of surf rock is a lot of what they were
- 13:04Speaker 6: pitching and which was weird enough, like being nowhere near
- 13:07Speaker 6: the ocean. But then I'm like, I'm an idiot that
- 13:09Speaker 6: lives in the middle of the country and talks about
- 13:11Speaker 6: Hollywood all day.
- 13:11Speaker 24: So what do I know?
- 13:12Speaker 3: You feel our pain.
- 13:13Speaker 6: I had a little love for you just for that alone.
- 13:15Speaker 6: But on top of that, I was like, the more,
- 13:18Speaker 6: and especially after seeing you play today, it even seemed
- 13:21Speaker 6: a little less surf than, or are you guys getting
- 13:25Speaker 6: a different sound as the time goes on? Cause you're,
- 13:27Speaker 6: you seem to lay a lot more just sort of
- 13:29Speaker 6: hard edge today.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I think for us, it's a mixture of, like, it's
- 13:34Speaker 3: hard describing a genre, but we like to try to
- 13:36Speaker 3: encapsulate the whole feel of the band, from the look
- 13:39Speaker 3: down to the artwork down to the music. So I
- 13:42Speaker 3: think the music is more what we call surf-tinged, like
- 13:45Speaker 3: a couple pinches of surf. But I think the style
- 13:49Speaker 3: and the feel and the vibe, we like our shows
- 13:52Speaker 3: to feel like a beach party in the sense that
- 13:54Speaker 3: everyone's having a great time. and not a care in
- 13:57Speaker 3: the world. And I think that is part of the
- 14:01Speaker 3: surf rock vibe. For us, it's more of like a
- 14:03Speaker 3: lifestyle or something, more of like a look and a
- 14:06Speaker 3: feel than just the music.
- 14:08Speaker 6: That's your surf term.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. Because the tricky thing with surf rock music
- 14:12Speaker 3: is that it's really like you've got Dick Dale and
- 14:15Speaker 3: the Beach Boys, and then you've got bands that try
- 14:18Speaker 3: to copy that. And so for us, it's one of
- 14:21Speaker 3: those few genres that hasn't really been reinvented And what
- 14:25Speaker 3: does it mean to reinvent one? So, you know, I
- 14:27Speaker 3: think it's just our take on surf rock, you know,
- 14:29Speaker 3: because it can't just all be Miserlew, you know, by
- 14:32Speaker 3: Dick Dale.
- 14:32Speaker 22: I mean, it could, and that would be great, too.
- 14:34Speaker 3: There's nothing wrong with that. No, but I mean, like,
- 14:37Speaker 3: if you're trying to, you know, take a style and
- 14:39Speaker 3: make it your own and not just, you know, reiterate
- 14:43Speaker 3: something that's already been there, I think that's what we're
- 14:45Speaker 3: trying to do, you know?
- 14:47Speaker 6: I think that's what I found most interesting. surprising and
- 14:49Speaker 6: kind of I thought was great was the fact that
- 14:52Speaker 6: I love surf rock, but it's so easy to get
- 14:54Speaker 6: in that groove and just kind of do that same thing.
- 14:58Speaker 6: Even if you're not trying to. I think a lot
- 14:59Speaker 6: of guys aren't even like, I'm going to rip off
- 15:01Speaker 6: Dick Dale. It's more of like, it's so ingrained in
- 15:03Speaker 6: us now what it's supposed to sound like.
- 15:05Speaker 22: Just certain specific riffs.
- 15:06Speaker 24: Totally.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:07Speaker 6: That like you guys weren't doing any of that.
- 15:09Speaker 22: It was like, that's awesome.
- 15:11Speaker 23: So I think we really kind of put that in,
- 15:14Speaker 23: put the sort of surf tinge into motion with our
- 15:16Speaker 23: first record. And then when we were making our, like
- 15:19Speaker 23: it was more prevalent there. And then we were making
- 15:22Speaker 23: our second record. We, we kept it, but it is less. So,
- 15:26Speaker 23: you know, there are little pieces of it. And I
- 15:28Speaker 23: think when you listen to the record, you can probably
- 15:31Speaker 23: feel a little bit more of that with everything kind
- 15:33Speaker 23: of together.
- 15:33Speaker 3: But yeah. And I think too, that, uh, We are
- 15:38Speaker 3: trying to, it's just got this summery vibe to it,
- 15:42Speaker 3: you know? So that's a lot of it.
- 15:44Speaker 6: Absolutely. I'm going to pitch it so you guys can
- 15:47Speaker 6: throw some music in along the way.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sure.
- 15:49Speaker 6: So I was going to say, what's a good intro
- 15:52Speaker 6: song for people?
- 15:53Speaker 3: Well, you know what might be kind of cool is
- 15:55Speaker 3: our intro song on the podcast that we do is
- 15:57Speaker 3: a song called Mostly. We closed the set out with
- 16:00Speaker 3: it today.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Actually, I really love it.
- 16:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I was listening to it today. We released that a
- 16:04Speaker 3: while back to promote this upcoming record. So maybe we
- 16:08Speaker 3: should try to send you that, Mostly. Let's do Most.
- 16:11Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 16:11Speaker 3: We play it on our podcast. Might as well play
- 16:13Speaker 3: it on yours.
- 16:13Speaker 6: There you go.
- 16:14Speaker 26: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 6: It's popular on podcast.
- 16:16Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 22: Podcast popular.
- 16:30Speaker 16: You got something that I wanted, an addiction just so
- 16:35Speaker 16: hard to quit. And you're tapping on my window, but
- 16:45Speaker 16: you don't know I've.
- 16:47Speaker 17: Got someone else.
- 16:54Speaker 16: We fade to black now everything that starts must all
- 16:59Speaker 16: surrender close the final chapter hold.
- 17:04Speaker 5: The call don't answer.
- 17:06Speaker 16: Pull the plug and stop the power's out mostly we
- 17:10Speaker 16: were tragic mostly we were.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Sinking ship.
- 17:25Speaker 16: We saw the leaks in it I know you wanna
- 17:28Speaker 16: sail again Mostly we were crazy Before thinking our love.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Was true I couldn't just.
- 17:37Speaker 16: Be with you Mostly you were all I needed.
- 17:54Speaker 17: Not the only one.
- 17:56Speaker 16: Who's guilty, you've got your own secrets up your sleeve
- 18:06Speaker 16: We keep saying that it's over, neither one of us
- 18:11Speaker 16: could really.
- 18:12Speaker 12: Leave We keep pointing fingers, not really sure who's right
- 18:36Speaker 12: and who is wrong.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Who is wrong? Mostly we were tragic. Mostly we were sinking. Bye. Bye.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Mostly we were tragic.
- 19:30Speaker 17: Mostly we were a sinking ship.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Couldn't fix all the leaks in it. I know you
- 19:37Speaker 5: want to sail again. Mostly we were crazy.
- 19:41Speaker 16: But thinking our love was true.
- 19:45Speaker 5: I couldn't just.
- 19:46Speaker 11: Be Well, then, I was going to get into the... You've.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Done a ton of press. You're in the middle of
- 20:05Speaker 6: a ton of press. We love it. You're probably worn
- 20:09Speaker 6: out on music influence questions.
- 20:10Speaker 3: No, ask away. Seriously, there's not a bad question.
- 20:13Speaker 6: To me, that's kind of why I started this offshoot
- 20:15Speaker 6: version of it anyways. It all becomes a big mess anyway.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Growing up, we're all music and movies, and it's all
- 20:21Speaker 6: kind of the same thing. So I guess we'll lean
- 20:24Speaker 6: it more towards the movie end of it. Were you
- 20:26Speaker 6: guys movie fans growing up?
- 20:28Speaker 17: Yes.
- 20:28Speaker 27: Yes.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Very much so.
- 20:30Speaker 6: What were you drawn to? This tattoo on.
- 20:31Speaker 23: My arm is the cover of The Last Unicorn, the
- 20:34Speaker 23: 1982 movie that the band America did the soundtrack.
- 20:39Speaker 6: One of my co-hosts is like a huge fan of
- 20:43Speaker 6: The Last Unicorn. And actually just last week was super
- 20:46Speaker 6: angry because we were at a convention, and geek conventions
- 20:50Speaker 6: are everywhere now, and there's a little.
- 20:51Speaker 22: Girl, she's like 12.
- 20:53Speaker 6: Or something, and she's got all these buttons on, one
- 20:55Speaker 6: of which was a Last Unicorn button. And she was like, oh,
- 20:58Speaker 6: my God, The Last Unicorn. That's awesome. She's like, yeah,
- 21:00Speaker 6: I don't know what that is. I just like unicorns.
- 21:02Speaker 10: She was so angry.
- 21:04Speaker 3: That's hilarious.
- 21:05Speaker 6: You have no respect for unicorns.
- 21:07Speaker 22: You like unicorns because of her.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Is this it? Can you curse on this podcast or no?
- 21:11Speaker 6: Oh, go to town.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Okay.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I'm about to blow your mind. In movie world.
- 21:14Speaker 6: You ready?
- 21:15Speaker 3: Okay. All right. Do you know what this tattoo is
- 21:18Speaker 3: right now?
- 21:18Speaker 6: The flux capacitor, obviously.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Speaking of movies, my favorite film as a kid was
- 21:23Speaker 3: Back to the Future.
- 21:24Speaker 6: I'm right there with you.
- 21:26Speaker 3: The one where he goes to the future.
- 21:28Speaker 6: The second one is very odd.
- 21:29Speaker 3: It's so weird.
- 21:30Speaker 6: It's so dark.
- 21:31Speaker 3: I wanted the skateboard thing, that hoverboard.
- 21:35Speaker 27: Oh, yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 6: I think every kid alive at that point. They have
- 21:38Speaker 6: them now, too.
- 21:38Speaker 3: They have hoverboards.
- 21:39Speaker 10: Have you seen the ones they actually have that they
- 21:40Speaker 10: do hover for a second, but then when you get
- 21:42Speaker 10: on them, they touch the ground.
- 21:43Speaker 6: I've seen. Well, at first they did one that was
- 21:46Speaker 6: like an arch. installment, more or less, and it had
- 21:49Speaker 6: just magnets that would make it float.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:51Speaker 6: They're getting there.
- 21:52Speaker 3: It's just got to hold the weight of a person.
- 21:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 10: But the thing I like about Back to the Future
- 21:56Speaker 10: 2 is the fact that they literally go back to
- 21:58Speaker 10: the first movie in its entirety, and it doesn't feel weird.
- 22:01Speaker 10: It's so smart the way they do that.
- 22:04Speaker 6: So many threads there. You have to work out how
- 22:07Speaker 6: to go back into your own mood. So few times
- 22:10Speaker 6: have you ever seen that.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Also, that scene in the first Back to the Future
- 22:14Speaker 3: where he turns all the amplifiers up really loud, hits
- 22:19Speaker 3: one note, and it blows him away. That's kind of
- 22:22Speaker 3: one of the scenes that inspired me to be a
- 22:24Speaker 3: musician because I wanted to be Michael J.
- 22:25Speaker 27: Fox.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I don't want to turn it up that loud. Yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 3: I thought Michael J. Fox was the coolest guy.
- 22:29Speaker 5: He was cool.
- 22:29Speaker 3: He'd ride on a skateboard and grab people at the
- 22:31Speaker 3: back of their car.
- 22:32Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I was like way into it. I never had the
- 22:34Speaker 3: balls to do that. I always wanted to. So, I mean, yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 23: I have to know if the person that likes The
- 22:39Speaker 23: Last Unicorn also likes Return to Oz.
- 22:43Speaker 26: It does?
- 22:43Speaker 22: I feel like those might go together.
- 22:44Speaker 6: I remember one of her birthdays, I think we found
- 22:48Speaker 6: a Return to Oz one sheet, an original poster, and
- 22:52Speaker 6: had it framed. So somewhere she has a framed Return
- 22:54Speaker 6: to Oz one sheet.
- 22:56Speaker 22: Framed Return to Oz and Last Unicorn. I need to
- 22:59Speaker 22: know this person.
- 23:00Speaker 6: Yeah, we need to track her. See, she's a slacker
- 23:02Speaker 6: and she didn't come out this weekend.
- 23:03Speaker 3: We have both soundtracks on vinyl.
- 23:04Speaker 22: If you're listening, we're already friends.
- 23:07Speaker 27: Yes.
- 23:07Speaker 6: Best of friends.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Return to Oz is awesome. I'm not a big fan
- 23:10Speaker 3: of The Wizard of Oz, but Return to Oz, always.
- 23:12Speaker 22: Loved as a kid.
- 23:13Speaker 6: Return to Oz is fun, but again, dark. We tormented
- 23:18Speaker 6: children in the 80s. It is true.
- 23:19Speaker 23: Both of these movies.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I feel like we all ended up better because of it.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Yeah, it's true.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I feel like we need to stop with the.
- 23:25Speaker 6: We're not special snowflakes.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. We need to stop with the kid Mozart
- 23:30Speaker 3: and just go back to really creepy, dark stuff. A
- 23:33Speaker 3: bunch of heads in glass. Stuff that kids and people
- 23:36Speaker 3: on drugs can watch. Yeah, watch her in the woods.
- 23:38Speaker 17: Yeah, totally.
- 23:39Speaker 3: All of that stuff. That's what makes a great children's
- 23:41Speaker 3: movie is if you can watch it as an adult
- 23:43Speaker 3: on drugs.
- 23:43Speaker 22: Do you know what I've seen since.
- 23:45Speaker 23: That era as not children but that kind of movie-wise
- 23:50Speaker 23: that kind of reminded me of those those like return
- 23:53Speaker 23: to Oz and last unicorn was big fish.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 22: Jared and I really liked that movie.
- 23:59Speaker 6: It's got a nice, like blurring the lines of fantasy,
- 24:02Speaker 6: like it's reality up until it's not. And then you're like, wait, what?
- 24:05Speaker 23: I think my theme here for movies is like, Whimsical
- 24:09Speaker 23: and spooky.
- 24:10Speaker 6: Yeah. To me, that was like the nice peak in
- 24:12Speaker 6: the middle of Tim Burton kind of losing it.
- 24:14Speaker 28: Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 6: And he's coming back now.
- 24:16Speaker 17: He's coming back.
- 24:16Speaker 6: That's a good point. There's a lot of stuff I
- 24:18Speaker 6: didn't like on both sides.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Well, you know why that really was so... I thought
- 24:21Speaker 3: it was so good. And why it was Tim Burton's
- 24:23Speaker 3: peak is because Johnny Depp wasn't in it.
- 24:26Speaker 8: It's true.
- 24:27Speaker 6: Of all of those. He had his little crew and then.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Let's change it up for once.
- 24:31Speaker 26: It changes up.
- 24:33Speaker 6: So then, I guess, as we go in here, were you...
- 24:38Speaker 6: Drawn towards any specific sound? Like, creating the band... I'm
- 24:42Speaker 6: bouncing back and forth here. You're great. Were you... Because
- 24:45Speaker 6: you were sort of defining the sound. Did you already
- 24:47Speaker 6: have an idea of what you wanted sound-wise as you're
- 24:50Speaker 6: getting into it? Like, before you really started nailing down things,
- 24:53Speaker 6: were you already picking a sound? Or did you just
- 24:56Speaker 6: kind of find it along the way?
- 24:57Speaker 3: When we started the band, no. But before we went
- 25:00Speaker 3: in the studio... And before we started writing songs to record,
- 25:06Speaker 3: I knew that I wanted to try to make this
- 25:08Speaker 3: my career and do this the rest.
- 25:09Speaker 26: Of my life. Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 3: And it would be easy... And it would also be
- 25:15Speaker 3: a lie if I said this all just totally happened
- 25:18Speaker 3: organically and was all just a total accident.
- 25:19Speaker 6: It's been a good amount of years. You've been working hard.
- 25:22Speaker 3: It takes some time and it takes work and it
- 25:23Speaker 3: takes patience and it takes making the right decisions and
- 25:26Speaker 3: sometimes waiting to let things grow. And so with the band,
- 25:30Speaker 3: we wanted to find a direction early on. And if
- 25:34Speaker 3: that evolved, great. But we wanted to have something that
- 25:36Speaker 3: we could kind of pinpoint right off the bat. So
- 25:38Speaker 3: we weren't just some band like, oh, here's a song.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Here's another song. This doesn't sound like any of the
- 25:42Speaker 3: other songs. But here's another. And here's a demo of
- 25:44Speaker 3: this thing. We wanted to try.
- 25:46Speaker 23: We wanted a cohesiveness that we could all sort of
- 25:48Speaker 23: stand by and be excited about and kind of embody through.
- 25:51Speaker 22: The whole picture. Clothes and attitude.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Right.
- 25:56Speaker 3: I think, too, like... Every band, you have to be
- 26:00Speaker 3: a band for a long enough time until you're doing
- 26:03Speaker 3: it to your pros. Even if you're not at a
- 26:05Speaker 3: pro level yet, you have to give it time. You
- 26:08Speaker 3: have to go on the road and make a record
- 26:11Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 26:11Speaker 6: It's not even trying anymore. It's just knee-jerk reaction. We
- 26:14Speaker 6: fall into our place.
- 26:15Speaker 3: And I think we made a lot of pro decisions
- 26:19Speaker 3: early on, but we just then had to wait a
- 26:21Speaker 3: few years for us as three people to take over.
- 26:24Speaker 3: To go on the road.
- 26:25Speaker 22: To find our team.
- 26:26Speaker 3: I mean, that's what.
- 26:27Speaker 23: Finding our whole business team is what changes everything.
- 26:31Speaker 6: That's its own battle right there.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:34Speaker 23: So it took a minute, you know, a couple years
- 26:36Speaker 23: for us to find our people.
- 26:38Speaker 29: Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 3: But, you know, it's like when it sometimes feels like,
- 26:41Speaker 3: you know, this record spent... We've been waiting two years
- 26:45Speaker 3: to put it out, you know, just to find the
- 26:47Speaker 3: right group of people, like Kristen said, and find the label.
- 26:49Speaker 3: And we found the perfect label for it. But sometimes
- 26:52Speaker 3: you're like, man... you see another band that like they
- 26:54Speaker 3: create their band and six weeks later they're like huge.
- 26:57Speaker 3: But we also know bands that like in Nashville that
- 26:59Speaker 3: took 10 years to make their debut record. And so
- 27:02Speaker 3: when we're like, well shit, we are on our second record.
- 27:06Speaker 3: We've only been a band for a few years.
- 27:07Speaker 23: Like, you know, I don't know that I would have
- 27:09Speaker 23: been ready for the grind that is music on a
- 27:12Speaker 23: professional level six weeks in to being a bit, you
- 27:16Speaker 23: know what I mean?
- 27:17Speaker 6: And there are some, yeah, I'll see like these bands
- 27:19Speaker 6: that take off on YouTube or something. It's like, immediately
- 27:22Speaker 6: thrown out of school.
- 27:23Speaker 3: They don't know what to do. That's got to suck. Yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 3: because there's a lot of not fun parts to it,
- 27:29Speaker 3: but we're all so committed and we're all so tight-knit
- 27:32Speaker 3: now because we've spent hundreds of dates on the road.
- 27:34Speaker 22: It helps that we're married.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true too.
- 27:37Speaker 6: And that was not an initial thought.
- 27:39Speaker 28: That wasn't.
- 27:42Speaker 22: No, that we're married?
- 27:43Speaker 3: No, we weren't. I assumed you thought about that. The
- 27:46Speaker 3: adding you to the band part.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Oh, right.
- 27:48Speaker 22: I was like, no, we were.
- 27:50Speaker 6: Jared had.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Second thoughts about you.
- 27:52Speaker 6: It was a drunken bet one night.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Andy was like, I bet you won't marry her. I
- 27:56Speaker 3: was like, I'll show you. No, we knew we wanted
- 28:01Speaker 3: a girl singer. I did with some girls, just it
- 28:03Speaker 3: didn't work out. We met some people, just we needed
- 28:07Speaker 3: the right vibe. She sat in on all the practices
- 28:09Speaker 3: because she was kind of... She did... like marketing and
- 28:12Speaker 3: branding for bands and stuff. So we had her sit
- 28:15Speaker 3: in on these things. So she knew all the songs,
- 28:18Speaker 3: but she.
- 28:18Speaker 23: I was trying to kind of help them. I was
- 28:21Speaker 23: kind of trying to observe the music they were making
- 28:25Speaker 23: and just kind of help them figure out what it was.
- 28:28Speaker 22: I was like, it's kind of surfy.
- 28:31Speaker 3: But the only thing was, it's one of those things
- 28:33Speaker 3: you don't know somebody's true talent until somebody else tells
- 28:36Speaker 3: you it. So it's like she... could sing, we knew
- 28:39Speaker 3: she could sing really well, and she was cute and awesome,
- 28:42Speaker 3: but she didn't have the potential to be a musician,
- 28:45Speaker 3: so we were like, we'll just get a musician to sing,
- 28:47Speaker 3: you know, somebody who's a singer. And when our producer
- 28:49Speaker 3: heard the demos with you singing on it, he was like,
- 28:51Speaker 3: I think you found your girl singer.
- 28:52Speaker 22: Why are you guys looking for other people?
- 28:54Speaker 6: You know who's kind of around a lot? Yeah.
- 28:56Speaker 22: Why are you looking outside of yourselves? So we were
- 29:00Speaker 22: just like, oh.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Okay, you know? I mean, it'd be like if we
- 29:03Speaker 3: had heard you sing. and play bass, and we're like,
- 29:06Speaker 3: we need a bass player who also sings, and they're like...
- 29:09Speaker 3: Kind of like you, but not you.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 29:11Speaker 6: Just sort of like you.
- 29:12Speaker 3: You don't think about it until somebody else.
- 29:15Speaker 22: Points it out.
- 29:15Speaker 23: And I wasn't pushing that, so it wasn't coming from me.
- 29:22Speaker 6: Well, maybe that's your key moment. I was trying to decide.
- 29:25Speaker 6: I'm like, okay, when they make the biopic movie for
- 29:27Speaker 6: the band, which obviously they're going to make.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:30Speaker 6: I was like, what's the key? What's the defining moment?
- 29:32Speaker 6: You're like, we did it. We put this together. And
- 29:34Speaker 6: maybe it's that she's right there the whole time.
- 29:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:37Speaker 25: Right.
- 29:37Speaker 6: That's the movie coming together.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:39Speaker 6: So now it's the casting.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Who would, yeah. I think Casey Affleck. I've been getting
- 29:43Speaker 3: that movie. Yeah, he'd have to be a little more
- 29:46Speaker 3: high energy. It'd be kind of like his lighthearted role.
- 29:49Speaker 22: She would need to be a little bit younger.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Oh, I know who you're going with.
- 29:53Speaker 22: I really love Leslie Mann.
- 29:55Speaker 6: Nice.
- 29:56Speaker 22: I feel like she's, we're, yeah.
- 29:59Speaker 6: She's got a daughter now, doesn't she? We'll just start
- 30:02Speaker 6: bringing the daughter.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Leslie Mann, your daughter. Little Mann.
- 30:05Speaker 22: Little Mann.
- 30:06Speaker 6: We'll play Andy.
- 30:07Speaker 10: Mine's going to be, I want to be Thomas Everett
- 30:09Speaker 10: Scott who played Shades in That Thing You Do.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Nice.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Because he's a drummer.
- 30:12Speaker 3: He has the charm, but the innocence.
- 30:13Speaker 6: If we can steal him from time. Because, yeah, now
- 30:16Speaker 6: he's like a dad and stuff now.
- 30:19Speaker 3: What about Ryan Adams and his acting debut?
- 30:23Speaker 6: I think that's it.
- 30:24Speaker 3: What about Ryan Adams and his acting debut?
- 30:26Speaker 5: That would be funny.
- 30:27Speaker 6: He gets a Golden Globe for it. If you can
- 30:29Speaker 6: get the look. I don't know about the attitude. You
- 30:30Speaker 6: don't want that attitude.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I don't want to have my hair just as long
- 30:33Speaker 3: as him. People always think I ripped him off.
- 30:35Speaker 6: No, it's not true.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Ryan Adams ripped you off. Also, you had that song,
- 30:39Speaker 3: I Love You, at New York Airport.
- 30:42Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 30:43Speaker 6: You came up with that.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Long before him. Yeah, that's a great point. Don't pick
- 30:46Speaker 3: me up. Yeah, and you had that band, Andy Heron
- 30:49Speaker 3: and the Cardinals. Yeah. That was weird.
- 30:53Speaker 6: Oddly enough, I married Mandy Moore, so it's the damnedest thing.
- 30:57Speaker 6: It didn't work out.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Okay, that's fair.
- 30:59Speaker 6: And then I guess just what I'll usually have people
- 31:02Speaker 6: pick like movie songs that were super like they got into.
- 31:06Speaker 6: So is there one or two that like you guys
- 31:07Speaker 6: really loved growing up or now? Anything or anything?
- 31:10Speaker 23: We all really three like the That Thing You Do soundtrack.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good. What soundtrack?
- 31:15Speaker 22: We all like the That Thing You Do soundtrack.
- 31:17Speaker 6: I mean, that's there's genius in that because a song
- 31:20Speaker 6: that you're going to again, they're all one hit wonder.
- 31:22Speaker 6: by their name so like the fact that you do
- 31:24Speaker 6: have to hear it 500 times in the course of
- 31:26Speaker 6: that movie and you really don't tire of it like
- 31:28Speaker 6: that's an impressive song.
- 31:29Speaker 17: The Onidas.
- 31:33Speaker 26: That's the wonders.
- 31:39Speaker 30: You doing that thing you do breaking my heart into
- 31:47Speaker 30: a million pieces Like you always do And you Don't
- 31:56Speaker 30: mean to be cruel You never even knew About the
- 32:02Speaker 30: heartache I've.
- 32:06Speaker 5: Been going through Well.
- 32:08Speaker 16: I tried and tried to forget you girl But it's
- 32:12Speaker 16: just so hard to do Every time you do that
- 32:17Speaker 16: thing you do.
- 32:24Speaker 21: I know all the.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Games you play And I'm gonna find.
- 32:28Speaker 29: A way to let you know that You'll be.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Mine someday Cause we could be happy, can't you see?
- 32:40Speaker 1: If you'd only let me be the one.
- 32:45Speaker 5: To hold you And keep you here with me.
- 32:50Speaker 16: Cause I try and try to forget you, girl But
- 32:55Speaker 16: it's just so hard to.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Do Every time you do that thing you do Don't
- 33:06Speaker 5: ask a lot. Don't ask a lot. No one thinks
- 33:10Speaker 5: for sure. No one thinks for sure.
- 33:12Speaker 16: It's a love I haven't got, girl. And I just
- 33:16Speaker 16: can't take it anymore.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Why? Because me, could be happy, can't you see?
- 33:40Speaker 16: If you don't need, let me be the one.
- 33:44Speaker 5: To hold you. And keep you here with me Cause
- 33:49Speaker 5: it hurts me so just to see you go Around
- 33:53Speaker 5: with someone new And if.
- 33:56Speaker 31: I know you, you're doing that thing Every day just
- 34:02Speaker 31: doing that thing I can't take you doing.
- 34:07Speaker 5: That thing you do.
- 34:11Speaker 10: And the whole soundtrack is very like, it's all fake
- 34:13Speaker 10: 60s stuff from the 90s, but I also really dug
- 34:17Speaker 10: Empire Records soundtrack.
- 34:17Speaker 3: It was a big one. I can't remember the name
- 34:20Speaker 3: of the band. Obviously, Jim Blossoms was great.
- 34:21Speaker 6: Sugar High.
- 34:22Speaker 10: Jim Blossoms had Till Here From You, but there was
- 34:24Speaker 10: a song in there. It was some of the members
- 34:26Speaker 10: of the Pixies side project. And I can't remember the
- 34:28Speaker 10: name of the band, but it's one of the best
- 34:30Speaker 10: songs ever. It's on that soundtrack.
- 34:48Speaker 32: I'll be present freeze in my mind.
- 34:56Speaker 5: Spoken word I've said.
- 35:00Speaker 33: One million times.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Who are you to.
- 35:06Speaker 32: Tell me it'll always be this way.
- 35:13Speaker 5: I close my eyes and I turn.
- 35:17Speaker 24: Around For the moment Lost somewhere between the earth and
- 35:41Speaker 24: the sky So free.
- 35:47Speaker 5: For the moment Lost because I wanna be lost.
- 36:00Speaker 32: Don't try to find me Always tried to please through
- 36:14Speaker 32: my life.
- 36:16Speaker 34: Repetitious things I've done One million times Who are you.
- 36:29Speaker 32: To tell me that I'll always be this way?
- 36:36Speaker 24: I close my eyes and I turn around.
- 37:04Speaker 5: What would you do? It's not such a terrible.
- 37:18Speaker 21: Thing Earth and.
- 37:54Speaker 5: The sky So free for the moment That's because I
- 38:05Speaker 5: want to be lost.
- 38:19Speaker 16: Lost somewhere between the earth and the sky.
- 38:27Speaker 5: So free for the moment Lost because I want to be.
- 38:38Speaker 29: Lost Don't try to find me.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I'm going to bring it all full circle. Huey Lewis
- 38:53Speaker 3: and the News. Power of Love. One of the best songs,
- 38:58Speaker 3: I think, in the world.
- 38:59Speaker 6: I had that soundtrack on cassette tape, thank you very much.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Wore it the hell out. Power of Love is amazing.
- 39:06Speaker 15: So good.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Is it curious?
- 39:28Speaker 7: Of love is a curious thing make a one man
- 39:32Speaker 7: weep make another man sing change a heart to a
- 39:37Speaker 7: little white dove more than.
- 39:39Speaker 5: A feeling that's the power of love tough than diamonds
- 39:50Speaker 5: rich like cream stronger and harder than a bad girl's
- 39:54Speaker 5: dream make a bad one good First time you feel it,
- 40:31Speaker 5: it might make you sad. Next time you feel it,
- 40:35Speaker 5: it might make you mad. But you'll be glad, baby,
- 40:38Speaker 5: when you're found.
- 40:38Speaker 16: That's the power that makes the world around. And it
- 40:42Speaker 16: don't take money, don't take fame. Don't need no credit card.
- 40:48Speaker 25: To ride this train.
- 40:50Speaker 7: It's strong and it's started, it can be cruel sometimes.
- 41:16Speaker 5: Can you feel it? Don't take money Don't take fame
- 41:55Speaker 5: Don't need no telecom.
- 42:55Speaker 6: I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet. But
- 42:59Speaker 6: your kids are going to love it.
- 43:00Speaker 26: It's a white song.
- 43:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:04Speaker 3: It's Once Upon a Dream by Lana Del Rey. I
- 43:07Speaker 3: really like that. Yeah.
- 43:10Speaker 22: I'm in my Lana phase.
- 43:11Speaker 3: She's going through a Lana phase.
- 43:12Speaker 22: Queen Lana.
- 43:14Speaker 5: I know you.
- 43:18Speaker 28: I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you,
- 43:29Speaker 28: that look in your eyes is so familiar, ugly. And
- 43:37Speaker 28: I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem.
- 43:48Speaker 28: But if I know you, I know what you'll do.
- 43:55Speaker 28: You'll love me at once the way you did once
- 44:01Speaker 28: upon a time. But if I know.
- 44:27Speaker 12: You I know what you'll do You'll love.
- 44:32Speaker 32: Me at once The.
- 44:34Speaker 28: Way you did once Upon a dream I know you,
- 44:53Speaker 28: I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you.
- 45:05Speaker 35: That gleam in your eyes.
- 45:08Speaker 28: Is so familiar and i know it's true that visions
- 45:19Speaker 28: are seldom all they seem but if.
- 45:26Speaker 12: I know you i know what you.
- 45:33Speaker 28: I feel like.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I feel like they don't do soundtracks anymore that they
- 46:02Speaker 3: used to. Back in the day, you'd have a soundtrack.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Maybe because no one buys them. Well, they tried. They
- 46:06Speaker 3: tried with the Ghostbusters soundtrack. Oh, yeah.
- 46:10Speaker 6: It's very theme-oriented.
- 46:11Speaker 17: I think the.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Days of buying a soundtrack, people didn't really do it
- 46:14Speaker 3: as much. I wish they still did.
- 46:15Speaker 6: I bought that new Ghostbusters. I may be the only
- 46:17Speaker 6: one that bought.
- 46:17Speaker 36: That new Ghostbusters.
- 46:18Speaker 3: We found it. Well, I listened to it because I
- 46:20Speaker 3: know it came out. We found him.
- 46:22Speaker 6: It's right here, guys. It's me.
- 46:24Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 46:25Speaker 5: Awesome.
- 46:26Speaker 6: Well, what's another? Give us one more song to go
- 46:29Speaker 6: out on that's another good one for people to check out.
- 46:32Speaker 22: One of ours?
- 46:32Speaker 27: Yes.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Let's go off of Bad Latitude.
- 46:36Speaker 6: What about Chemical Reaction or something?
- 46:38Speaker 26: Or History?
- 46:38Speaker 3: Let's do Chemical, yeah.
- 46:39Speaker 6: That one's good.
- 46:40Speaker 3: So this song is called Chemical Reaction. I wanted to
- 46:42Speaker 3: have a song that was kind of a love song,
- 46:44Speaker 3: but also had this weird scientific theme kind of weird
- 46:49Speaker 3: thing behind it. So I started writing it. I played
- 46:52Speaker 3: it for Andy and Kristen. And during this crazy part
- 46:55Speaker 3: where I'm screaming into the mic, They both looked at
- 46:58Speaker 3: each other like, yeah, this is going to be a
- 46:59Speaker 3: cool one.
- 46:59Speaker 10: I'll never forget that. I feel like this is the
- 47:01Speaker 10: first song that we wrote that kind of changed the sound. Yeah,
- 47:03Speaker 10: that's what I was going to say.
- 47:04Speaker 6: We found our sound, I think. This is another magic
- 47:05Speaker 6: moment in the movie.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Cam was a roller, man.
- 47:09Speaker 6: It's all coming together.
- 47:11Speaker 23: That song from our first record kind of started the spooky.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 22: The sort of.
- 47:16Speaker 3: The spooky surf pop sound. It's kind of like our
- 47:18Speaker 3: walk the line moment, you know.
- 47:19Speaker 6: It's like, give me one.
- 47:20Speaker 3: More chance.
- 47:21Speaker 10: She could sing one song and Jerry was like, this
- 47:23Speaker 10: one's all chemical reaction.
- 47:24Speaker 3: This is it.
- 47:26Speaker 6: I've been secretly working on this the whole time.
- 47:29Speaker 3: And the guitar player knew the solo and it worked
- 47:31Speaker 3: out perfect. All right.
- 47:33Speaker 6: Well, thank you guys.
- 47:33Speaker 22: This has been a blast.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Thank you so much for having us.
- 47:35Speaker 6: Very cool.
- 47:36Speaker 3: We appreciate it.
- 47:55Speaker 16: Oh my God, you are a revelation.
- 48:01Speaker 33: My heart goes tap tap tap like tapping on a beaker.
- 48:12Speaker 25: Watch the speakers get louder wow.
- 48:30Speaker 29: And me where a chemical reaction gets you and me where.
- 48:35Speaker 12: A chemical reaction gets.
- 48:39Speaker 5: You and me where a chemical reaction gets you and
- 48:43Speaker 5: me where a chemical.
- 49:03Speaker 12: There's no crime, there's no investigation There's just me.
- 49:08Speaker 5: And there's just you.
- 49:10Speaker 16: You're my cure, you are my medication All your syrup
- 49:16Speaker 16: goes down smooth and you walked.
- 49:19Speaker 25: Up to me and grabbed me by my jacket and
- 49:24Speaker 25: you told me that you love me while we're standing
- 49:27Speaker 25: in the cold my heart goes.
- 49:28Speaker 23: Tap tap tap like tapping on a beaker watch.
- 49:32Speaker 33: The speakers get louder while.
- 49:47Speaker 29: We wear a chemical reaction, yeah it's you And we
- 49:52Speaker 29: wear a chemical, chemical.
- 50:15Speaker 5: It's you and me, we're a chemical, a chemical. Oh
- 50:37Speaker 5: my God.
- 50:38Speaker 29: You are a revelation in my skin and.
- 50:50Speaker 6: Yes, before I even sat down to talk with them,
- 50:52Speaker 6: I knew I'd chosen the right band to hang out
- 50:55Speaker 6: with when in the middle of their set, right here
- 50:57Speaker 6: at Fourcastle, they referenced Idiocracy. I was like, yeah, these
- 51:02Speaker 6: are my people. Anyone who makes a random movie reference
- 51:05Speaker 6: in the middle of rocking out, that's what I'm looking for.
- 51:08Speaker 6: That's the kind of band I'm drawn to, so... Thank
- 51:11Speaker 6: you once again to Repeat Repeat. And yes, I took
- 51:14Speaker 6: a photo of Kristen's awesome last unicorn tattoo to show Mizdy,
- 51:18Speaker 6: and you should see it too. So, one more reason
- 51:21Speaker 6: to go see them live and check out her cool tattoo. Oh,
- 51:24Speaker 6: and by the way, their music is awesome. So yes,
- 51:27Speaker 6: go see them live, go buy their albums, and you
- 51:30Speaker 6: heard them say it, they are a podcast kind of people. So,
- 51:33Speaker 6: check out their podcast. It is actually called, and points
- 51:36Speaker 6: for this, it is called the Repeat Repeat Podcast Podcast.
- 51:41Speaker 6: You gotta love that. So yes, go check that out.
- 51:44Speaker 6: It is available on, I believe, iTunes and whatever podcast
- 51:47Speaker 6: app you are currently using, and hopefully listening to all
- 51:51Speaker 6: the episodes of Movie Meltdown as well. And to check
- 51:53Speaker 6: out their music in general, their website is repeatrepeatmusic.com. So
- 51:59Speaker 6: go check them out. As you heard, they're very cool,
- 52:02Speaker 6: and their music is awesome.
- 52:15Speaker 17: I'll take every cent you've made.
- 52:22Speaker 6: So, you guys know we're broke, right? We're always broke.
- 52:27Speaker 6: I know. And yet we're trying to put this show together.
- 52:30Speaker 6: Now how the hell can we keep the show rolling
- 52:33Speaker 6: if we're broke and we can't do this?
- 52:35Speaker 5: Sell special fiddle fowl.
- 52:40Speaker 17: Oh.
- 52:40Speaker 6: Or instead, murder people. Are you just taking random money
- 52:45Speaker 6: out of their pockets?
- 52:46Speaker 27: Well, yeah.
- 52:46Speaker 6: Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Hopefully it
- 52:49Speaker 6: won't come to that.
- 52:50Speaker 34: Especially if they're peeping.
- 52:51Speaker 6: Some people will get on board with this.
- 52:54Speaker 8: Get on board with what?
- 52:56Speaker 6: The new Movie Meltdown Patreon page. And what is this?
- 52:59Speaker 6: If you go there, you can sponsor the show itself. Basically,
- 53:03Speaker 6: you just join the club. You join the Meltdown Club.
- 53:06Speaker 6: You become a milketeer.
- 53:07Speaker 22: Do you get a special decoder ring?
- 53:09Speaker 6: We already sent those out, but those people, nobody cares.
- 53:11Speaker 6: I didn't get a decoder ring. You're not part of
- 53:14Speaker 6: the club. I'm never part of the club. You're part
- 53:17Speaker 6: of the secret circle, though.
- 53:18Speaker 30: It's okay.
- 53:19Speaker 6: But if you become a milketeer, you can get special
- 53:23Speaker 6: episodes that only come to you.
- 53:26Speaker 26: I think you should do it right now.
- 53:27Speaker 5: Right now?
- 53:28Speaker 6: I'm just saying. It's maybe a couple of bucks. There's
- 53:31Speaker 6: other levels you can kick in and get fancier. Maybe
- 53:33Speaker 6: a couple bucks.
- 53:34Speaker 26: You don't know.
- 53:34Speaker 6: Fancier stuff. But really, just a couple of bucks will
- 53:37Speaker 6: keep things rolling. What'll get me a pony? That's a
- 53:41Speaker 6: really high level. I'll have to figure out exactly what.
- 53:46Speaker 6: That's platinum membership right there. That might be above platinum.
- 53:49Speaker 3: We'll have to see.
- 53:50Speaker 1: What is above platinum?
- 53:52Speaker 26: Titanium.
- 53:54Speaker 6: Titanium.
- 53:55Speaker 14: Really?
- 53:56Speaker 26: Maybe that's a step below.
- 53:58Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 53:58Speaker 6: We'll have to see. Aluminium level. That's way below. Not
- 54:03Speaker 6: if you say it fancy.
- 54:04Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 54:05Speaker 6: Unobtainium.
- 54:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:09Speaker 6: Good luck with that. But for the rest of you,
- 54:11Speaker 6: go kick in a couple bucks. Keep the show rolling.
- 54:14Speaker 6: Go to patreon.com slash movie meltdown. And if you don't
- 54:18Speaker 6: know how to type all that in, go to the
- 54:19Speaker 6: movie meltdown.com page. And the link's right there. And you
- 54:22Speaker 6: can save this show. And help me get a pony.
- 54:26Speaker 6: Damn them, man. Save the meltdown. Get Missy a pony.
- 54:30Speaker 22: Yeah, priorities.
- 54:42Speaker 6: Hi, I'm Leah Thompson. You're listening to Movie Meltdown. All right,
- 55:03Speaker 6: I'm back after a healthy dinner of dirty mac and cheese.
- 55:06Speaker 6: That's right, kids. Make healthy choices. Yeah, when you look
- 55:10Speaker 6: up on the sign and it says, big bold letters,
- 55:13Speaker 6: dirty mac and cheese, well, there's not really any decision
- 55:16Speaker 6: left for you, is there?
- 55:18Speaker 26: I don't think so.
- 55:20Speaker 6: Also, having just come back from PJ Harvey, who was amazing.
- 55:26Speaker 6: I mean, it is... Other than getting to hang out
- 55:28Speaker 6: with Repeat Repeat, which was sort of a bonus as
- 55:32Speaker 6: I got into this and found out I was coming together.
- 55:34Speaker 6: But as soon as I saw the lineup, I was like,
- 55:36Speaker 6: oh no, PJ Harvey, I'm going. That's the reason I'm
- 55:40Speaker 6: here this entire weekend, just to see PJ Harvey live.
- 55:45Speaker 6: And no surprise, amazing. And more than anything, I think
- 55:50Speaker 6: I liked her kind of massively impressive artistic screw you attitude.
- 55:57Speaker 6: towards just, like, everyone and their expectations and what they
- 56:03Speaker 6: probably wanted. Because even I would have probably, like, planned
- 56:07Speaker 6: out a different event for her to perform, if it
- 56:10Speaker 6: were my call, but obviously it's not. And she's so amazingly,
- 56:15Speaker 6: geniusly different and always has been, but thus proving that
- 56:20Speaker 6: this time around because she.
- 56:23Speaker 26: Oh, my God.
- 56:24Speaker 6: So in the middle of this summertime, knocking a beach
- 56:28Speaker 6: ball around, fun time, outdoor festival, the set is completely
- 56:34Speaker 6: done in black, a very minimal coat of arms behind her.
- 56:39Speaker 6: And she comes out dressed all in black in almost
- 56:44Speaker 6: like a death march procession with her entire band, a
- 56:48Speaker 6: lot of saxophones, a lot of drums. And they all
- 56:52Speaker 6: sort of march out on the stage in this, like, slow,
- 56:54Speaker 6: amazingly grim march. And then, like, they all kind of
- 57:00Speaker 6: break into this weird, like, there's at least three of
- 57:03Speaker 6: them on sax, her included. She had a sax a
- 57:06Speaker 6: good portion of the set. And they just come out
- 57:08Speaker 6: into this weird song, and it continues on. Like, she
- 57:12Speaker 6: does not open with the hits. She does not follow
- 57:15Speaker 6: with the hits. It takes on almost like the tone
- 57:18Speaker 6: of a concept album that maybe you don't know what
- 57:21Speaker 6: the concept is. It's just very grim, and there's a
- 57:26Speaker 6: huge band there, and all the guys are dressed in
- 57:29Speaker 6: black as well. And they do a lot of this
- 57:33Speaker 6: singing in unison behind her, so it has a.
- 57:35Speaker 26: Nice cult-y feeling to it.
- 57:38Speaker 6: Maybe that's just because I watched a weird cult movie
- 57:40Speaker 6: earlier today, which I'll get.
- 57:42Speaker 26: To somewhere down the line in other episodes.
- 57:44Speaker 6: But it did have a weird kind of cult thing
- 57:49Speaker 6: going on at moments.
- 57:50Speaker 26: Again, I'm putting my own weird spin on it. But yeah,
- 57:55Speaker 26: I love the fact that she just like stuck.
- 57:57Speaker 6: To her guns and is like, no, I've got this
- 58:00Speaker 6: vision for what I'm trying to do. And in like
- 58:02Speaker 6: a small like theater, like upscale theater, I could see
- 58:06Speaker 6: this going over like to her hardcore like fans that
- 58:09Speaker 6: are following what she does now. But to show up
- 58:12Speaker 6: in the middle of an outdoor summer festival with all
- 58:15Speaker 6: these other party bands and come out completely in costume
- 58:19Speaker 6: and damn near in character. Like, she really never, barely
- 58:25Speaker 6: even would smile. Like, she would come out as the persona, the, like,
- 58:28Speaker 6: rock goddess that she is. And she just sort of, like,
- 58:33Speaker 6: was super serious the whole time and did the songs
- 58:36Speaker 6: as amazingly as you would expect. But, like, barely, like,
- 58:39Speaker 6: when people would clap Afterwards, you'd get the littlest smile
- 58:44Speaker 6: at the corner of her mouth. But other than that,
- 58:46Speaker 6: no inner song banter.
- 58:48Speaker 26: No nothing.
- 58:50Speaker 6: Continued to do these songs. Again, I'm not near as
- 58:52Speaker 6: familiar with her later stuff, but continued to do these
- 58:55Speaker 6: more current, unfamiliar songs. And I was like, oh man,
- 59:00Speaker 6: she might go through the whole set and just never
- 59:02Speaker 6: knock out an old favorite. She might just say, screw
- 59:05Speaker 6: you guys on the hits.
- 59:07Speaker 26: Got most of the way through. Awesome.
- 59:10Speaker 6: Almost at the end maybe about 15 minutes left she
- 59:13Speaker 6: busted out three of the big hits and once again
- 59:16Speaker 6: it's like as amazing as she was before like to
- 59:18Speaker 6: hear that stuff live to hear and again it's funny
- 59:22Speaker 6: because she's so much older now so to hear a
- 59:26Speaker 6: older more polished version.
- 59:29Speaker 26: Of 50 foot Queenie. You know, she's not the punk
- 59:31Speaker 26: rock kid.
- 59:31Speaker 6: She, she was when she wrote that, like she's now
- 59:35Speaker 6: put together this amazing like group of musicians and they're
- 59:38Speaker 6: all super well established musicians and they're doing this serious
- 59:42Speaker 6: version of these old punk songs.
- 59:45Speaker 26: And like to.
- 59:45Speaker 6: Hear her do it with the background vocals and this
- 59:49Speaker 6: killer sax solo in the middle of all of them.
- 59:51Speaker 6: Like it, it's just, it's really interesting watching her come
- 59:55Speaker 6: together as this, mature, polished musician and artist that she
- 59:59Speaker 6: is now.
- 1:00:00Speaker 26: So yeah, knocked out 50-foot Queenie.
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: Did Down by the Water, which I wondered if she
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: would skip altogether because it was so popular in the
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: regular world. And the big one that I think I forgot,
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: it's been a while since I just sat down and
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: listened to some of those early albums, but it affected
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: me as she busted into To Bring You My Love.
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: I think I forgot how heavy and how just overwhelming
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: and like oddly primal that song is like it's amazing
- 1:00:35Speaker 6: on the album but to hear them just bust into
- 1:00:37Speaker 6: that guitar riff right there live is phenomenal so yeah
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: if you can do it go see PJ Harvey and
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: with that I think we're going to knock out I've
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: just been kind of doing one of most of these
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: artists but you know I like B.J. Harvey, so screw it.
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: I'm doing the double barrel blast on her. We're going
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: to start off with, we're going back a little bit here.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: Not quite the modern stuff I just heard her do.
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: This is going back to 1998. We're going to hear
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: Angeline from the soundtrack Playing by Heart.
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: My first name Angeline Prettiest mess you've ever seen Love
- 1:01:26Speaker 9: for money is my sin.
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: Any man calls, I'll let him in Rose is my
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: color and.
- 1:01:42Speaker 13: White My pretty mouth and green eyes.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: I see men come and go.
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: But there'll be women.
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: Who will collect my soul.
- 1:02:28Speaker 14: Two thousand miles away It lays open like.
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: A road guitar.

- 1:04:48Speaker 35: I'd rather done it with you.

- 1:07:20Speaker 2: I fantasize.
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: Of our leaving.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Like some modern day gypsy landslide.
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: Like some modern day Bonnie and Clyde. On the run again.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: On the run again.
- 1:07:48Speaker 17: You seek a great fortune.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: You three who were nigh in shame.
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: You will find a fortune.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: Though it would not be the fortune you seek.
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: So as I'm hanging out over here, talking about PJ Harvey,
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: just over that-a-way, on the boom stage, Spoon is playing.
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: Maybe I should try to force my post-Mac and Cheese
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: self to get up and head over there and check
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: him out. We'll see. But if nothing else... We'll play
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: a little of them right now. From 2016's How to
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: Be Single, this is Don't You Ever from Spoon.

- 1:09:43Speaker 17: But thought you'd never be there.
- 1:09:47Speaker 36: I said don't ever, because it's going to keep me
- 1:09:51Speaker 36: hanging around.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: Never.

- 1:11:11Speaker 29: hanging around.

- 1:11:15Speaker 5: that side.
- 1:11:15Speaker 16: I said, don't ever, because it's going to keep on
- 1:11:19Speaker 16: hanging around.
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: Five years going on, and no one is going on
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: that side. Don't you ever worry, because it's going to keep.
- 1:11:26Speaker 22: On hanging around.
- 1:11:51Speaker 27: All right.
- 1:11:52Speaker 6: So we're rounding into the homestretch here. And with that,
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: I would like to throw out some thank yous. First off,
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: thank you to PJ Harvey for being weird and awesome.
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: I have so much artistic respect for her odd choices.
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: Love PJ Harvey. Next up, obviously, a big thank you
- 1:12:09Speaker 6: to 4Castle for letting us come here and be part
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: of the event and hang out and get to talk
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: to the band. It's been a great weekend all around,
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: and they put together an amazing show every year. Impressively
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: well run. Super professional. Always kind of impressed on that angle.
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: So once again, sign on for next year. And to
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: find out more about it, go to forecastlefest.com. And last
- 1:12:33Speaker 6: but certainly not least, once again, a big thank you
- 1:12:36Speaker 6: to Repeat Repeat for sitting down with me, hanging out,
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: talking movies, and playing some music. Once again, check out

- 1:12:48Speaker 6: Hopefully all that comes together. If you type enough of
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: those words in, I'm sure it'll find it. I know
- 1:12:52Speaker 6: when I googled it, it came right up. So go
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: find it, add it to your playlist. They are a

- 1:13:12Speaker 6: we're going to work in one more of their songs.
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: This is Plugged In by Repeat Repeat.
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: Everyone's worried I've got a look. Picking out the one
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: who leads you.
- 1:13:55Speaker 29: Everybody's acting like they're free. Spending all your time With
- 1:14:06Speaker 29: your pants tied down Like it's your destiny I know
- 1:14:15Speaker 29: too much Yet I know nothing at all We can't
- 1:14:20Speaker 29: stand on higher ground Watching all that crawl Lead me
- 1:14:25Speaker 29: to the garden Lead another sin.
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: I know too much, can I please be put back in? Broken,
- 1:14:49Speaker 5: is all there ever gonna be? That they all know
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: the prophecy If everything is figured out Why.
- 1:15:07Speaker 29: Are they all acting so confused Turning off and tuning out.
- 1:15:28Speaker 17: I know too much, yet I know nothing at all.
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: We can stand on higher ground, watching all them crawl.
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: Lead me to the garden, I need another stand. I
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: know too much, can.
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: I please be put back? I know too much.
- 1:16:32Speaker 29: Yet I know nothing at all. We can stand on
- 1:16:38Speaker 29: higher ground, watching all them crawl.
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: Lead me to the garden, I'll meet another sin. I
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: know too much, can I please be put back in?
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: Can I please be put back in? Can I please
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: be put back in? Can I please be put back in?
- 1:17:09Speaker 6: All right, and as you can hear behind me, Weezer
- 1:17:11Speaker 6: is closing out the night, closing out the festival, and
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: that's what we're going to do as well. So we
- 1:17:17Speaker 6: will go out, much like the event here, with a
- 1:17:20Speaker 6: little bit of Weezer. But what song do we want
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: to close with? I mean, I don't want to go
- 1:17:25Speaker 6: out with one of the big hits that you've already
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: heard a million times, but I said we don't want
- 1:17:30Speaker 6: to play one of their hits that you've heard a
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: million times. So how about we play somebody else's song
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: that you've probably heard, Quite a few times. But I
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: thought it was kind of interesting. How about a cover?
- 1:17:43Speaker 6: Because in 2011, for the Cars 2 soundtrack, Weezer does
- 1:17:47Speaker 6: a cover of You Might Think. Now, granted, lately I've
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: kind of rediscovered the Cars. I think it was one
- 1:17:54Speaker 6: of those I was always kind of weirded out by
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: Rick Ocasek. He's just a strange dude. So I think,
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: you know, there were some of the songs back in
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: the day that I just kind of enjoyed. but I was,
- 1:18:06Speaker 6: I don't know, I was always just a little weirded
- 1:18:07Speaker 6: out by him, but I knew I always liked Drive,
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: because Benjamin Orr's awesome, and I was thinking at the time, like,
- 1:18:14Speaker 6: it's weird, that's like the one song that he sings on,
- 1:18:17Speaker 6: because I guess that was the big video hit, and
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: I saw it a ton, but it turns out, like, recently,
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: I just, somebody came up with a list, and they
- 1:18:24Speaker 6: were breaking down the songs, and who sang each one,
- 1:18:28Speaker 6: and I was shocked by how many Benjamin Orr's lead
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: vocal on, and with that, I sort of went on
- 1:18:34Speaker 6: to this rabbit hole in launched into a whole playlist
- 1:18:38Speaker 6: of old cars stuffing and mostly the benjamin or heavy
- 1:18:41Speaker 6: stuff in and then went online and found a bunch
- 1:18:44Speaker 6: of videos of him singing lead live back in like
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: the late seventies and early eighties in like just amazing
- 1:18:51Speaker 6: to watch them and specifically the version with him doing,
- 1:18:54Speaker 6: doing lead vocals. It's really cool. So yeah, kind of
- 1:18:59Speaker 6: reevaluate the cars and, and, and dig a little deeper
- 1:19:02Speaker 6: into the Benjamin or fronted stuff, because I think that's
- 1:19:05Speaker 6: really cool and kind of gets overlooked because Rick sort
- 1:19:08Speaker 6: of overshadowed the band. But anyway. So with that, the
- 1:19:12Speaker 6: car's being kind of awesome. We're hanging out with Weezer here.
- 1:19:15Speaker 6: So let's go out on that. We're going to play
- 1:19:17Speaker 6: Weezer's version of You Might Think from the Cars 2 soundtrack.
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: And you can hear it right there in the lyrics.
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: You think you're in the movies and everything's so deep. Well,
- 1:19:28Speaker 6: we're not that deep here on Movie Meltdown. So I'll
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: just say, until next time, get a life, we'll provide
- 1:19:33Speaker 6: the soundtrack.
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: I know when you're weak You think you're in the
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: movies And everything's.
- 1:20:23Speaker 17: So deep But I.
- 1:20:25Speaker 16: Think that you're wild When you flash that.
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: Fragile smile.
- 1:20:51Speaker 20: And it was hard, so hard to take There's no escape.
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: Without a scrape You kept it going till the sun
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: fell down You kept it going.
- 1:21:41Speaker 20: Sometimes when you're curious, I'll be back around.
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: Oh, I think that you're wild and so are you.
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: This is you Believing And talking.
