- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Justin Kats. My name
- 0:18Speaker 2: is Michael Bennett. On this I don't even have to
- 0:20Speaker 2: look at my phone today.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I know it.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Today is It's May twenty first of twenty twenty six,
- 0:27Speaker 2: and boy, I can tell you right now it's a
- 0:29Speaker 2: special day, big day in the Bennett household. As many
- 0:33Speaker 2: of y'all know that, or maybe some of y'all don't
- 0:36Speaker 2: know that. You know, I celebrate two birthdays today in
- 0:39Speaker 2: an anniversary, y all, in one day. And they're not
- 0:42Speaker 2: twins on top of it all. So yeah, it's my
- 0:45Speaker 2: oldest son, Max's birthday, who was born in nineteen ninety six,
- 0:50Speaker 2: my youngest son Mason's birthday was born in nineteen ninety eight,
- 0:55Speaker 2: and my anniversary, which was born in nineteen ninety four.
- 0:58Speaker 2: So how crazy is that? Good morning, Justin. How are
- 1:02Speaker 2: you doing?
- 1:02Speaker 3: Good morning, Michael, I'm doing well. Thanks for thanks for asking. Yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 3: this is always a crazy day. The amount of people
- 1:08Speaker 3: that I have told this story, well, have you real?
- 1:11Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:11Speaker 3: Absolutely? I mean it's fascinating. How do you how do
- 1:14Speaker 3: you get married on one day? Two years later you
- 1:17Speaker 3: have a son on the exact same day and on
- 1:19Speaker 3: moren't they You correct me if I'm wrong, But wasn't
- 1:22Speaker 3: when Max was born. Wasn't at the same time as
- 1:26Speaker 3: you and your wife got married two years pro?
- 1:29Speaker 1: That is crazy.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So my wife and I distinctly remember when Max was born.
- 1:34Speaker 2: The doctor, really nice lady announced baby boy born four pm.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And it clicked with Patrician, it clicked with me.
- 1:45Speaker 2: It's like, holy crap, that was the time of the invitation,
- 1:49Speaker 2: as our wedding was starting. It was It was crazy.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, four pm. Mason screwed everything up, as
- 1:57Speaker 2: he always does. He was born at one fifty seven,
- 1:59Speaker 2: but you know, couldn't hang out for two more hours? No,
- 2:02Speaker 2: he couldn't. Just what's wrong with him? I mean, I mean,
- 2:07Speaker 2: it's really what's wrong with me. But yeah, it is
- 2:10Speaker 2: crazy that.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I mean, it really is fascinating because you could, you
- 2:14Speaker 3: could try to plan this sort of thing out and
- 2:16Speaker 3: you can't do that right, like it that's all. That's
- 2:20Speaker 3: one of those things that has to happen by chance.
- 2:22Speaker 3: And crazy that you were the one that got to
- 2:24Speaker 3: experience that. And just at least you have easy birthdays
- 2:28Speaker 3: to remember, right, I mean, you'll you'll never You'll never
- 2:31Speaker 3: forget your anniversary and you'll never forget your son's birthdays.
- 2:35Speaker 2: No, I will be excommunicated for my family if I
- 2:38Speaker 2: forget this day. And I would say I would probably
- 2:41Speaker 2: excommunicate myself if I could, but uh, yeah, I'll never forget.
- 2:45Speaker 1: When Mason was born.
- 2:47Speaker 2: He was born at Baptist Hospital, and the staff wanted
- 2:51Speaker 2: to call the local news, you know, to tell them
- 2:55Speaker 2: what all was happening. And they came to Patricia and
- 2:59Speaker 2: I'm like, well, it's up to her. I don't care
- 3:01Speaker 2: what you do. And she looked at them, I mean
- 3:03Speaker 2: with a death stare and said, don't you call anybody.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's like, okay, I guess we're not doing that. So yeah,
- 3:10Speaker 2: it was. It was funny.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I if anybody.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I have a lot of people ask me, and my
- 3:16Speaker 2: boys have been asking me what are the things that
- 3:18Speaker 2: you remember the most on those three days? And there
- 3:22Speaker 2: are a lot of things that I remember, I believe
- 3:25Speaker 2: it or not. It's not just one thing. But I
- 3:27Speaker 2: would have to say, on my wedding day, I remember
- 3:29Speaker 2: that two things. Because you know, I grew up in
- 3:33Speaker 2: a very conservative still attend a very conservative church called
- 3:36Speaker 2: the Westport Road Church. Christ in Saint Matthew's I remember,
- 3:41Speaker 2: which which you know, we're no dancer.
- 3:43Speaker 1: We're like Southern Baptists. We don't dance. We don't drink.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Well, it's kind of changed over the years, but up
- 3:49Speaker 2: in our fellowship haul, one of my groomsmen buddies brought
- 3:53Speaker 2: a twelve pack of beer and they just started giving
- 3:55Speaker 2: it to me like crazy, and so I started drinking that,
- 3:59Speaker 2: and so I was fairly relaxed during our wedding. I
- 4:03Speaker 2: remember my dad having fun with me because he was
- 4:05Speaker 2: my best man. And then also I remember screwing up
- 4:08Speaker 2: Patricia's name, so the beer made me so she swears
- 4:13Speaker 2: up and down we're not married because I called her
- 4:15Speaker 2: Karen Patricia, not Patricia Caren.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So I screwed that up.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I remember when Max was born, you know, is the
- 4:23Speaker 2: time when Mason was born. I almost missed it because
- 4:25Speaker 2: I got hungry and I had to run the taco
- 4:27Speaker 2: bell and get me something to eat. And I was
- 4:29Speaker 2: so proud of myself because I love the taco bell sauce.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I had to get a whole bag of taco bell
- 4:35Speaker 2: sauce put in the bag, and the lady was like,
- 4:38Speaker 2: you take as much as you want, but you know,
- 4:40Speaker 2: you probably should get back to to your wife. I'm like, oh,
- 4:43Speaker 2: we got plenty of time, don't worry about that. And
- 4:46Speaker 2: I mean I got there like five or ten minutes
- 4:48Speaker 2: before Mason was born. She's like, where the heck have
- 4:51Speaker 2: you been? I said, well, I got a whole bag
- 4:52Speaker 2: of taco sauce, so exactly, I mean, i'll, i'll, I know,
- 5:00Speaker 2: because it was funny. The manager kept telling me how
- 5:02Speaker 2: much taco sauce you want? I'm going to fill this
- 5:04Speaker 2: thing up, and she gave me literally an entire.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Bag of taco bills handed you the box. Well might
- 5:11Speaker 3: as well. I mean, my goodness, but that's Those are
- 5:14Speaker 3: the three things I remember on each of those days.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But yeah, it's fun. It's fun to relive them, I'll
- 5:20Speaker 1: tell you that.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And I've never gone back to look at our wedding video.
- 5:26Speaker 2: What I always now, I've never have. I always think
- 5:29Speaker 2: those are a waste of money because I've never I've
- 5:31Speaker 2: never gone back and looked at Isn't.
- 5:32Speaker 3: It shouldn't that be an anniversary thing?
- 5:35Speaker 2: Probably? No, we're not doing it now. I'm afraid with
- 5:42Speaker 2: you know, my mom and dad gone. It probably makes
- 5:45Speaker 2: me a little emotional, and I don't I want to
- 5:47Speaker 2: be happy today.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I don't want to get No, it's not I like
- 5:50Speaker 1: to be happy on.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Days like this. Just because you're emotional doesn't mean you're
- 5:54Speaker 3: not happy. You can be emotionally happy.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Well, I tell you who's emotional this morning. It was
- 5:59Speaker 2: because all these freaking emojis. I get you text me
- 6:03Speaker 2: and I'm like, what is this? You don't say there's
- 6:05Speaker 2: no caption, there's nothing. There's people that use the entire
- 6:10Speaker 2: emoji library. I respect you, but I don't understand the
- 6:15Speaker 2: whole emoji.
- 6:16Speaker 3: That was my for the record, that was my annoyed
- 6:19Speaker 3: face because you big time it was.
- 6:21Speaker 1: See and I didn't know exactly what you were talking about.
- 6:23Speaker 3: You big time to me, and I wasn't okay with that.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I couldn't How did I big time you?
- 6:28Speaker 3: I didn't met for cross talk.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I can't make well. I tried to call in, but
- 6:33Speaker 1: you didn't answer.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Oh is that you calling?
- 6:35Speaker 1: That was me calling in? Of course?
- 6:38Speaker 2: Will you beg time me? I got sent over to
- 6:41Speaker 2: a voicemail. I please leave a voicemail.
- 6:43Speaker 3: I did see the phone line blinking, and I was like,
- 6:45Speaker 3: who the hell be calling at this hour?
- 6:46Speaker 2: So I did make you happy because you sent me
- 6:51Speaker 2: some emoji. I have no idea what it meant, and
- 6:54Speaker 2: now I do. I literally had no idea.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I'm happy. I'm just I don't know what you're talking
- 7:00Speaker 3: about today, So now I'm kind of annoyed by that.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, oh well, yeah, I think you knew part of
- 7:09Speaker 2: the stuff I was gonna talk about, and that's what
- 7:10Speaker 2: we're talking about now. But everybody that uses listen, all
- 7:14Speaker 2: my friends that listen to the show and have my
- 7:15Speaker 2: phone number, don't send me emojis.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know what they mean.
- 7:20Speaker 3: For what it's worth, I only use three four, I only.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Use six different emojis. Really, yeah, I only use one.
- 7:31Speaker 3: And that's actually that one I sent you. I don't
- 7:34Speaker 3: use that one very often, and so you used it
- 7:36Speaker 3: with me, and I had no idea what you meant.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Now you've had to take five minutes to explain exactly
- 7:40Speaker 2: what you meant by that stinking so okay, all right, fine,
- 7:44Speaker 2: keep explaining, all right. To the emoji I use. I
- 7:47Speaker 2: just used the laughing one, the crying laughing that's all
- 7:50Speaker 2: I use. I don't use and I was I was.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I had a friend that kept sending me emojis last week,
- 7:57Speaker 2: It's like, are you okay? Because I really don't know
- 8:00Speaker 2: why you keep sending me emojis, and now I'm having
- 8:02Speaker 2: to explain every time you send me one what you mean.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I like to think I've gotten really good at reading them,
- 8:09Speaker 3: just because every so often my niece will take my
- 8:12Speaker 3: sister's phone and she'll send me like three lines of
- 8:15Speaker 3: nothing but emojis, and I'll sit there and try to
- 8:18Speaker 3: figure out how her brain was working and what it means.
- 8:21Speaker 3: And I like that. That's good.
- 8:23Speaker 1: That's different.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I do like that.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Why are you wearing a hat that says good?
- 8:27Speaker 3: Why not?
- 8:29Speaker 1: I don't know it just what's good. It's kind of random.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I'm good. I think it's okay. I think it's a
- 8:34Speaker 3: Matthew West thing. He's a Country Earth country, he's a
- 8:36Speaker 3: Christian artist.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I got it.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I got it from the Jiu studio. They gave it
- 8:40Speaker 3: to me, but I guess or something. Oh, it is okay. Yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 3: I like the hat looks good. I like the hat.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it is good. You are good. I mean, you're
- 8:49Speaker 2: everything good. So yeah, but no, I don't know who
- 8:52Speaker 2: the singer is, and I don't know who you're referencing,
- 8:54Speaker 2: so it doesn't matter. But I just, you know, just
- 8:57Speaker 2: kind of threw me off when I see, oh, I'm
- 8:58Speaker 2: wearing a hat today, says good.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I mean it's just tomorrow I'll have one. This is bad.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I know.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Well, here's what you do.
- 9:04Speaker 2: When you go to the restaurant this afternoon for lunch
- 9:07Speaker 2: or dinner and the waitress comes over and says, hey,
- 9:09Speaker 2: how's your food?
- 9:10Speaker 3: You just point to the hat. That's all you do.
- 9:12Speaker 1: You don't have to say a word. All you gotta
- 9:14Speaker 1: do is good, all right. I don't know.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I mean you might be going to chick Filla and
- 9:21Speaker 2: you go there and you don't even have to say
- 9:23Speaker 2: thank you. You just point to the hat and say good.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Actually going to roosters, I'm pumped.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Oh you are.
- 9:30Speaker 3: John and Tony owe me a meal because I want
- 9:33Speaker 3: our bracket challenge.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Really, it must be nice to be lunch. Well when
- 9:38Speaker 2: somebody bets a meal that they actually pay you.
- 9:42Speaker 3: I mean, I still o you one one one. I
- 9:47Speaker 3: gotta be in town.
- 9:48Speaker 1: You see. I think you owe me a little more
- 9:51Speaker 1: than one.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I don't know you more than one.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Oh, yes, okay, whatever you say, they're justin't that. But
- 9:59Speaker 2: you know, I'll just point into the head and say
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Hey. By the way, Matthew got up early yesterday and
- 10:04Speaker 3: joined me on Sunrise with Scoots. Can you believe that?
- 10:07Speaker 1: For what reason?
- 10:08Speaker 3: We were talking a little kings.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I'm disappointed that I wasn't on yesterday. He could have
- 10:13Speaker 2: had them on a little longer.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yeah. I took him up to about yeah, about when
- 10:18Speaker 3: we start cross talk?
- 10:19Speaker 1: Really? Oh okay, yeah, exactly. I missed that.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Well, you know, TJ and and Nick were supposed to
- 10:27Speaker 2: fill in for me yesterday, and then evidently something with
- 10:32Speaker 2: one of the TJ's kids came up, so that took precedent,
- 10:35Speaker 2: which it should, and then Nick texted me says, my
- 10:40Speaker 2: son has strapped.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think I have it now. Can we reschedule? So
- 10:45Speaker 1: I said absolutely.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Ralph texted me two minutes before your show was supposed
- 10:50Speaker 3: to start and said.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, we need to flip the National.
- 10:53Speaker 3: It's like, Ralph, First of all, you don't even work
- 10:55Speaker 3: at Big X anymore, so don't tell me how to
- 10:57Speaker 3: do my job. All. It is entirely too late to
- 11:01Speaker 3: be telling me we're going to National. Third of all,
- 11:04Speaker 3: I am still employed a Big X, so I'm aware
- 11:06Speaker 3: that we're going to national.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I think I had already told you that
- 11:11Speaker 2: they couldn't do it anyway. Yeah, exactly. I think you
- 11:16Speaker 2: should send him one or two lines of the annoying
- 11:18Speaker 2: face emoji. Okay, just go ahead and do it. Why
- 11:21Speaker 2: why don't you do it now while we're on the air.
- 11:23Speaker 2: So all right, I think there was a little bit
- 11:27Speaker 2: of a big news yesterday. Well, there's a couple of
- 11:29Speaker 2: things that happened while I was gone out yesterday, and
- 11:31Speaker 2: of course I had to take a little care of
- 11:34Speaker 2: some horse stuff yesterday in Baltimore. So I I apologize
- 11:37Speaker 2: to you and everyone out there. I wasn't able to
- 11:39Speaker 2: make the show yesterday, but I had a good, pretty
- 11:42Speaker 2: good reason. But I think the big news that came
- 11:44Speaker 2: out yesterday that well, because you had basketball and you
- 11:49Speaker 2: had football. But I'm gonna start with basketball today, and
- 11:53Speaker 2: that's UK and Gonzaga mutually agreeing to in the six
- 11:57Speaker 2: year series with two matchups left.
- 12:00Speaker 1: When you saw that justin what was your first thought?
- 12:06Speaker 3: Probably for the best, I mean, especially with the way
- 12:09Speaker 3: the game played out last year. And I talked about
- 12:11Speaker 3: it a little bit on my show this morning. When
- 12:14Speaker 3: that first when that matchup was first announced, right that
- 12:16Speaker 3: they're going to do a four game series, You're like, yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 3: whatever it is. Yeah, You're You're like, heck, yeah, this
- 12:23Speaker 3: is gonna be good. Kentucky Gonzaga. That should be a
- 12:25Speaker 3: lot of fun, right for whatever reason, And maybe it's
- 12:28Speaker 3: just me, Maybe it's just a me pro No, it's not.
- 12:31Speaker 3: It lost its luster. Like when I think about Kentucky
- 12:34Speaker 3: and Gonzaga now, it's not nearly as sexy as it
- 12:37Speaker 3: was when it was announced that they were originally going
- 12:39Speaker 3: to play this series.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and you know that was back in the
- 12:42Speaker 2: cal era, so you thought, Okay, this is going to
- 12:45Speaker 2: be a really fun matchup, and then after what happened,
- 12:48Speaker 2: like you know, you had to overtime win what was
- 12:51Speaker 2: it a couple of years ago, and then last year's
- 12:53Speaker 2: absolute debacle down in that of course, you know, you
- 12:57Speaker 2: know how I feel about it being played in Nashville,
- 12:59Speaker 2: which I think is ridiculous, but.
- 13:01Speaker 3: It just it.
- 13:02Speaker 2: It's Yeah, So Gonzaga gets to play in the state
- 13:06Speaker 2: of Washington for all their games, and Kentucky decides, you know,
- 13:08Speaker 2: it'd be a good idea to play one of the
- 13:10Speaker 2: games outside of the state of Kentucky. I just I
- 13:14Speaker 2: will forever not forgive Kentucky for that. And why why
- 13:19Speaker 2: you can't bring that game over here to Louisville or
- 13:21Speaker 2: something like that. I just I don't understand. But I'm
- 13:25Speaker 2: not sad that it's canceled.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Uh.
- 13:27Speaker 2: The only thing I am said about is that, you know,
- 13:29Speaker 2: the last time we played wasn't even close, wouldn't even
- 13:33Speaker 2: matchup at Allstone, Yes.
- 13:38Speaker 1: And deserved.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I go back to the point,
- 13:42Speaker 2: they are now professional players. It is okay to boo
- 13:46Speaker 2: these players. They're not amateurs. If they were still amateurs,
- 13:50Speaker 2: no I would, I would not boo them. But now
- 13:52Speaker 2: that they're getting paid, guess what you're paid on performance,
- 13:56Speaker 2: and they should That team should have gotten booed, especially
- 13:58Speaker 2: that night. But but the other thing that sticks out,
- 14:03Speaker 2: we now have a losing series as far as the
- 14:07Speaker 2: overall with Gonzaga, we're down three to ten.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I kind of do I'm want to be able to say.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Two Yeah, that doesn't if I'm Kentucky fan, that doesn't
- 14:20Speaker 3: bother me, not one bit.
- 14:22Speaker 1: It doesn't.
- 14:23Speaker 3: You'll get another crack at him one day.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Probably, so, But you know, I had somebody come up
- 14:30Speaker 2: to me yesterday and and was talking to me, Uh,
- 14:34Speaker 2: do you like where your team is at? He's a
- 14:38Speaker 2: huge Saint John's fan, and he loved Rick, still loves
- 14:43Speaker 2: Rick Patino, and he loved Rick Patino when he was
- 14:47Speaker 2: at UK. So he was a uk A fan at
- 14:49Speaker 2: one time. And now he's ecstatic because he's got Saint John's.
- 14:52Speaker 2: One is his team, that's where he went to school,
- 14:53Speaker 2: and number two, he's got Rick Patino there. He want
- 14:56Speaker 2: to know where I thought the state of Kentucky basketball
- 14:59Speaker 2: was and I said, well, right now, if I'm completely
- 15:03Speaker 2: honest with you, it's undetermined.
- 15:06Speaker 3: It's in limbo.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It is in limbo.
- 15:09Speaker 2: And I said, I hope you can appreciate where I am.
- 15:12Speaker 2: But you know, we had a fun first season with
- 15:14Speaker 2: Mark Pope, and we had a absolute disastrous season in
- 15:18Speaker 2: the year two of Mark Pope. So honestly, I'm undetermined.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I don't know what this team is going to be
- 15:25Speaker 2: like next year. I hope it's going to be good.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I like the players that he's brought in, but does
- 15:30Speaker 2: that equate to eighteen that's going to lead to success?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Just can't answer that, and I don't think I'll be
- 15:35Speaker 2: able to answer it until probably beginning mid part of February.
- 15:40Speaker 2: We just have to see how it plays out. He
- 15:43Speaker 2: goes well, if the opportunity does come up of hiring
- 15:49Speaker 2: a new coach the following year, who is your guy?
- 15:52Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh, that's that's probably pretty easy.
- 15:55Speaker 1: For me and I you know, and he's still available.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I said, you know, my favorite days, like you was
- 16:02Speaker 2: when Rick Patino was the head coach and you raise Kentucky.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I probably would kind of like to have a little
- 16:09Speaker 2: taste of that again. And a little taste of that
- 16:11Speaker 2: wouldn't mean any quate to Billy Donovan being the head coach.
- 16:16Speaker 1: So that was my answer. I mean, is that a
- 16:18Speaker 1: fair answer?
- 16:20Speaker 3: Yes?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Do I want that to happen right now?
- 16:23Speaker 3: No?
- 16:24Speaker 2: I want to see Mark Pope succeed. So don't sit
- 16:26Speaker 2: here and think that, oh, Michael Bennett wants to see
- 16:29Speaker 2: Mark Pope fired and let's bring in Billy down. No,
- 16:31Speaker 2: that's not the case at all. I'm still a fan
- 16:34Speaker 2: of Mark Pope. I want to see him do well
- 16:36Speaker 2: and say at Kentucky a long time. But I think
- 16:39Speaker 2: the jury's a little out on that right now, and
- 16:42Speaker 2: I think it's a little deserved. If next year doesn't happen.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think going into this season, Mark Pope should be
- 16:49Speaker 2: on a bit of a warm seat, if not towards
- 16:52Speaker 2: kind of a hot seat.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Is there anything specific with Mark Pope that you want
- 16:57Speaker 3: to see this upcoming year.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Fast playing team that shoots well and plays really good defense.
- 17:03Speaker 2: I mean, is that too much to ask?
- 17:06Speaker 3: I mean a little bit, because he doesn't control any
- 17:08Speaker 3: of that. Is there anything that he controls that you
- 17:11Speaker 3: want to see him do differently.
- 17:13Speaker 2: How he handles the press, how he handles questions, how
- 17:16Speaker 2: he because he did a great job the first year,
- 17:19Speaker 2: he did a great job coming in when it was
- 17:20Speaker 2: announced that that whole deal at Reperina, and then last year,
- 17:25Speaker 2: the way that he reacted with Tom Leech, the ray
- 17:28Speaker 2: that he reacted with the UK media.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Was just kind of I'm not gonna say I didn't
- 17:34Speaker 1: like it. I just kind of thought it was odd.
- 17:37Speaker 2: That's that's the best way, without being negative, without being positive.
- 17:41Speaker 1: It was just unique.
- 17:43Speaker 3: In my opinion, And we've talked about this in the past,
- 17:46Speaker 3: but I mean, the the programs, the sports programs across
- 17:50Speaker 3: colleges across the nation, they've got to be one and
- 17:54Speaker 3: the same with the media, right like there has to
- 17:56Speaker 3: be a good working relationship there. The media can help
- 18:00Speaker 3: these programs. The programs can in turn help the media,
- 18:03Speaker 3: which in turn helps the programs. Like it's it's just
- 18:06Speaker 3: a it's a big circle that if you just continue
- 18:09Speaker 3: to work together and feed each other information, it can
- 18:12Speaker 3: be an advantageous position to be in. And you just
- 18:15Speaker 3: i'd like to see that be a little bit better
- 18:17Speaker 3: with Kentucky.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to hear that. Uh, this is
- 18:22Speaker 2: one of the greatest shooting teams he's ever had. I
- 18:24Speaker 2: don't want we don't need exaggeration.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Well, we don't need to.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I want reality.
- 18:29Speaker 3: We don't need to put so much stock into that
- 18:31Speaker 3: this year, because I think that was that was part
- 18:33Speaker 3: of the issue with the media last year, is they
- 18:36Speaker 3: took what Mark Pope said in the off season and
- 18:39Speaker 3: you you're really I was guilty of it. Yeah, I
- 18:41Speaker 3: was welt of it. Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not gonna sit here and claim that I
- 18:46Speaker 2: didn't do that. I did it a thousand percent. Yeah no,
- 18:50Speaker 2: not at all, not at all. But I just don't
- 18:53Speaker 2: It's kind of like boy cried Wolf. I just don't
- 18:56Speaker 2: want to see. On the positive side, I don't want
- 18:58Speaker 2: to see that. Okay, Cam Williams is going to be
- 19:01Speaker 2: the greatest shooter Kentucky's ever seen. Let's not say that.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Let's not put that kind of pressure on them. Let's
- 19:05Speaker 2: be realistic Mark Pope and say, Okay, this team is
- 19:09Speaker 2: struggling when the bad days come, listen, I take it.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It's my fault. I assembled this team together.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I'm doing the best I can to make it to
- 19:18Speaker 2: get them to play better, but there's only so much
- 19:21Speaker 2: I can do.
- 19:21Speaker 1: That's how you answer questions.
- 19:23Speaker 2: You don't sit there and come up with odd, encryptive
- 19:28Speaker 2: type answers that everybody was trying to figure out what
- 19:30Speaker 2: is he saying? And then some of the times when
- 19:34Speaker 2: he would respond to Tom Leech's question, who is the
- 19:38Speaker 2: most non threatening media member out there? I just thought
- 19:43Speaker 2: was really, I guess the pressure is getting to him
- 19:47Speaker 2: so and the realization that he is now the head
- 19:50Speaker 2: coach and the left fest is really over. So I
- 19:53Speaker 2: just I think the more you were honest and not
- 19:58Speaker 2: trying to sugarcoat anything, the better off you'll be. And
- 20:02Speaker 2: the more that you answer these questions, don't hide behind.
- 20:06Speaker 2: That was my biggest complaint about the last coach is
- 20:09Speaker 2: that he would send out a assistant coach to handle
- 20:12Speaker 2: after a bad game.
- 20:13Speaker 1: It's like, no, that's not how you handle that.
- 20:16Speaker 2: The way you keep the fan base intact, the way
- 20:19Speaker 2: you keep your team intact in the media somewhat intact.
- 20:23Speaker 2: You answer and you you face the negativity head on.
- 20:28Speaker 2: That's how you do it. Absolutely, you take responsibility with it.
- 20:33Speaker 2: And it was just frustrating that it wasn't happening with
- 20:35Speaker 2: the last few years of cow and last year with
- 20:38Speaker 2: Mark Pope.
- 20:39Speaker 3: For that fact, fans and media alike, they shouldn't have
- 20:42Speaker 3: to read into every answer in a press conference and
- 20:45Speaker 3: take what he's saying it a grain of salt.
- 20:47Speaker 2: You don't turn it, don't turn it into a political
- 20:51Speaker 2: non answer type of answer politicians are famously do on
- 20:58Speaker 2: a regular basis.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I never like that.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I mean, that's why, that's why I can't stand listening
- 21:03Speaker 2: to politicians being interviewed, because they'll.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Have a question or debates.
- 21:06Speaker 2: For that fact, they'll have a question and they'll go
- 21:09Speaker 2: revert to something completely different. It drives me nuts. Well,
- 21:13Speaker 2: you never answered the question, and why didn't the media
- 21:15Speaker 2: member go back? Now, some media members don't go back
- 21:18Speaker 2: and ask the question, but you're not going to get
- 21:20Speaker 2: an answer. It's like, why just face on, answer the
- 21:24Speaker 2: question and move on. Yeah, otherwise they're just going to
- 21:27Speaker 2: continue to ask the question. So it's just going to
- 21:30Speaker 2: be you're only prolonging that narrative and once you face it,
- 21:36Speaker 2: it's like, Okay, I answered that earlier. Why do you
- 21:38Speaker 2: Why are we asking this again? Did you not like
- 21:40Speaker 2: my answer?
- 21:40Speaker 3: And you're done?
- 21:42Speaker 1: That's it.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So anyway, we got to take a first break. We're
- 21:44Speaker 2: way overboard five O two three eight four, fourteen fifty.
- 21:47Speaker 2: You want to call in five OO two four to one,
- 21:49Speaker 2: fourteen to fifty one texting on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 21:53Speaker 2: or you can tweet me at Just the Cat Radio.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Got a big recruit yesterday. We can do cross talk.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Now we got NFL A poll was taken artificial or natural?
- 22:07Speaker 1: What do you think they answered? The players?
- 22:09Speaker 2: That is, from all almost seventeen hundred players out the NFL.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I didn't realize there were that many. But we'll talk
- 22:15Speaker 2: about that and as well the bad news about UK
- 22:20Speaker 2: baseball losing.
- 22:22Speaker 1: But anyway, we got a lot to talk about today.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Stay right. There a lot more of Just the Cats coming.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Up right now, Iben, I've been losing, see dreaming about
- 22:51Speaker 4: the things we the baby iben, I've been playing hard.
- 22:59Speaker 4: No more accounting will be accounting stars. We'll be counting stars.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Fable two three four fourteen fifty. If you want to
- 23:12Speaker 2: call in Fable two four one four fourteen fifty. If
- 23:15Speaker 2: you want to text, text in on the Whiskey Feed
- 23:18Speaker 2: text line, or you can tweet me at just the
- 23:19Speaker 2: Cat Radio. All right, let's let's let's before we let's
- 23:24Speaker 2: talk about bad stuff before we get into good stuff.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I yeah, okay, yeah, let's let's look the negative.
- 23:32Speaker 2: U UK baseball loses to Vanderbilt on what was that
- 23:36Speaker 2: Tuesday night our Tuesday afternoon.
- 23:40Speaker 1: That's the bad part. And you know, UK still trying
- 23:44Speaker 1: to get in that large bit.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I mean that was That's a game they needed to
- 23:47Speaker 2: be able to say, Okay, we have a good enough.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Body of work over the season for them to get
- 23:54Speaker 1: in that large bid. And this has been this to me.
- 23:59Speaker 1: All right, let me hear it from you before I
- 24:02Speaker 1: taint you, which I you.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Know I typically do anyway, And I'm sorry about I
- 24:06Speaker 2: don't mean to put an impression on you before.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I can't let you give your opinion.
- 24:10Speaker 2: But as far as how UK has played this year
- 24:14Speaker 2: within baseball, how do you think the season went and
- 24:19Speaker 2: how it should have been?
- 24:22Speaker 3: So I discussed it briefly yesterday. Starting the season at
- 24:28Speaker 3: one point, you are twenty two and six, yeah, and
- 24:32Speaker 3: you finished the season thirty one and twenty one. So
- 24:36Speaker 3: you go nine and fifteen your last twenty six like,
- 24:41Speaker 3: that's not or twenty four games, that's not good enough.
- 24:44Speaker 3: You've got to be better than that. I know the
- 24:46Speaker 3: SEC is really really tough, but you had momentum on
- 24:49Speaker 3: your side and you just were unable to capitalize on that.
- 24:52Speaker 3: You've won very few series within the SEC. Overall. The
- 24:56Speaker 3: way the season ended was disappointing, and they're going to
- 24:59Speaker 3: be on the bubble for the tournament. I'm not convinced
- 25:02Speaker 3: that this juncture they get in do. I think they
- 25:05Speaker 3: should probably so, just because you are playing in a
- 25:07Speaker 3: tough SEC. But it's not as easy as it once looked.
- 25:11Speaker 3: When when you're sitting there at twenty two and six
- 25:13Speaker 3: and you're thinking, Okay, this is gonna be a really
- 25:16Speaker 3: really good Kentucky team, they just they couldn't keep that momentum.
- 25:19Speaker 3: So that sucked.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Yeah, because you know, you asked me it's it's it
- 25:24Speaker 2: was a really disappointing season a team that you know,
- 25:26Speaker 2: really thought to be a really good one, especially with
- 25:29Speaker 2: you got the All SEC Tyler Bell out there on
- 25:32Speaker 2: the field. Granted he was injured beginning of the season,
- 25:36Speaker 2: but yeah, you got a whole other team too out there.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So it's not just related to one player and one
- 25:42Speaker 2: player alone. But on Tuesday, UK checked in at number six,
- 25:47Speaker 2: number thirty six overall in the RPI. UK sits with
- 25:52Speaker 2: an overall record, like you just said, thirty one twenty
- 25:55Speaker 2: one and owns a six and six Squad one record. Okay,
- 26:01Speaker 2: from there, what's that six and six Squad one, six
- 26:05Speaker 2: and six Quad one. UK is five and seven in
- 26:10Speaker 2: Quad two and five Quad one or Quad three losses
- 26:21Speaker 2: and three Quad four losses. I mean, you look at that,
- 26:25Speaker 2: and all right, let's look at the positive. UK should
- 26:29Speaker 2: have a solid overall r PI number when the Selection
- 26:34Speaker 2: Monday rolls around, because you know it's not on Sunday,
- 26:36Speaker 2: it beats Selection Monday.
- 26:38Speaker 3: But you know.
- 26:40Speaker 1: They do have five wins over top ten RPI teams.
- 26:47Speaker 1: So is that enough?
- 26:50Speaker 2: I hope so, But it's not they're not hosting. They're
- 26:54Speaker 2: going somewhere else, and I just they won how many
- 26:59Speaker 2: series do they win the SEC?
- 27:01Speaker 1: I think it was one or two at the most,
- 27:03Speaker 1: and when they lost one very many.
- 27:05Speaker 2: No, it wasn't very many at all, and I believe
- 27:08Speaker 2: it was too And then the Tennessee and it was
- 27:14Speaker 2: Alabama in the very first series of the year.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Back in whenever that was March or April. I forget.
- 27:24Speaker 1: It's just gone flying by so much. I think it
- 27:26Speaker 1: was March. But it's just I don't know what to think.
- 27:30Speaker 2: If they make it great, that would be the fourth
- 27:33Speaker 2: consecutive year that they've made it to postseason play. That's nice,
- 27:38Speaker 2: but I just justin I'm like you, I feel like
- 27:41Speaker 2: this team should have been far better than the result
- 27:43Speaker 2: we're seeing right now and the losses. Winning the SEC, yes,
- 27:47Speaker 2: you said it. The SEC is one of the toughest
- 27:51Speaker 2: conferences out there. If it's not them, it's definitely the ACC.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And I kind of think it's more of the it's
- 27:56Speaker 2: my bias coming out. I think it's the SEC. But
- 27:59Speaker 2: my goodness, I really believe we should be playing better
- 28:04Speaker 2: than this, and I was. It's disappointing to see it.
- 28:07Speaker 3: This whole situation is very relatable for me as an
- 28:10Speaker 3: Indiana basketball fan, specifically because every year it feels like
- 28:15Speaker 3: my team's right there on the bubble and I always
- 28:18Speaker 3: have to battle with it mentally with well, do I
- 28:21Speaker 3: even want them to make the tournament? Or do do
- 28:24Speaker 3: I want them to just not be in it? Because
- 28:26Speaker 3: if they do get in, they're not gonna do anything anyways.
- 28:28Speaker 3: That's kind of how I feel about this Kentucky baseball. Well,
- 28:31Speaker 3: you know, that's funny you say it, because that's exactly
- 28:34Speaker 3: how I feel.
- 28:35Speaker 1: They're just going to get in it, lose the game,
- 28:37Speaker 1: and then let's be done.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Okay, So is it nice to say ol our team's
- 28:42Speaker 2: been in at four seasons in a row, suore, But
- 28:45Speaker 2: do you really want to get it and just see
- 28:46Speaker 2: him lose right away? I mean, I mean, if they
- 28:49Speaker 2: get in, there's a chance.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Would they even be I'm not convinced at this point
- 28:53Speaker 3: if they would even be the two seed in the regional.
- 28:56Speaker 3: They might even be the three seed in the regional.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I'm right there with absolutely. I don't think there deserved
- 29:02Speaker 2: to be a two seed. So it's just it's gonna
- 29:05Speaker 2: be a tough roade for him. So we'll have to
- 29:09Speaker 2: see but I am. It's just it's just a bummer,
- 29:12Speaker 2: quite honestly. Text line has been really slow today. I'm
- 29:15Speaker 2: kind of surprised anyway, just thought i'd say that five
- 29:19Speaker 2: two three eight four fourteen fifty five two four one
- 29:22Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty left all you want?
- 29:24Speaker 3: They thought you were off again today?
- 29:25Speaker 1: Is that what they think? They think I'm off the day?
- 29:27Speaker 1: Oh see what?
- 29:28Speaker 3: No cross talk?
- 29:32Speaker 2: Okay, so you're gonna blame me for the no cross talk,
- 29:35Speaker 2: which is I'm blaming no one texting into the t
- 29:38Speaker 2: whiskey thief text line.
- 29:40Speaker 3: You got to blame also yesterday on Spears on Sports
- 29:43Speaker 3: for a slow text day for their show because they
- 29:45Speaker 3: said they didn't have your lead into their show, so
- 29:48Speaker 3: the text line was slow.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Oh oh so I'm just the evidently. I mean, I
- 29:55Speaker 2: feel like I'm at home. I mean, I get blame
- 29:57Speaker 2: for everything anyway. There, so what's the difference? But all right, Uh,
- 30:03Speaker 2: I do want to talk about a couple of things
- 30:05Speaker 2: football related number one, And I don't know should we
- 30:10Speaker 2: take a break first, because there's I don't want to. Yeah,
- 30:14Speaker 2: let's why don't we You kind of agree with that,
- 30:16Speaker 2: don't you? Because have you talked about the football punting
- 30:19Speaker 2: rule yet.
- 30:20Speaker 3: No, I'm not even familiar with the football Oh okay,
- 30:24Speaker 3: So I do want to talk about because you know,
- 30:26Speaker 3: I was predicting it on Tuesday that UK was going
- 30:30Speaker 3: to get a commit and it did come to fruition.
- 30:33Speaker 1: So we'll talk about that when we come back. And then.
- 30:38Speaker 2: There is a particular Ohio and no Iowa. Is it
- 30:41Speaker 2: the Iowa state coach that's really losing his mind because
- 30:46Speaker 2: of this new punting rule that they are coming out with.
- 30:49Speaker 2: So the NCAA has already approved the rule, and there
- 30:54Speaker 2: is there's all kinds of I believe it was that
- 30:57Speaker 2: the Big ten coaches meet foot ball coaches meeting. None
- 31:01Speaker 2: of them understood it, none of them could uh. It
- 31:05Speaker 2: took them, I think forty five minutes to get an
- 31:07Speaker 2: explanation what this meant and why they're doing it.
- 31:11Speaker 1: And none of them are happy at all.
- 31:13Speaker 2: So you know, if all the Big ten coaches are
- 31:15Speaker 2: upset about this, it's going to be nationwide that nobody's
- 31:19Speaker 2: going to like this at all. So we'll talk about
- 31:22Speaker 2: the new punting role when we get back. I'll have
- 31:24Speaker 2: an explanation for you as because when I read it
- 31:27Speaker 2: justin it made no sense to me and why they're
- 31:31Speaker 2: doing this. But it's all about you know, safety with
- 31:34Speaker 2: quotation marks. But we'll see about it. Let's talk about
- 31:37Speaker 2: it as soon as we get back. You want to
- 31:39Speaker 2: join five O two three four fourteen fifty If you
- 31:42Speaker 2: want to text in, I'll swallow first before.
- 31:47Speaker 3: I don't know why I said that five oh two
- 31:49Speaker 3: four one. Can you just mark that out of the radio.
- 31:51Speaker 3: I can't believe I just said something like that, five
- 31:54Speaker 3: O two four one four fourteen fifty. Stay right there more,
- 31:57Speaker 3: justin Kat's coming at plus Are you here? Was my
- 32:00Speaker 3: crosstalk subject line. What did Southwest Airlines ban? Did you
- 32:05Speaker 3: see that? No?
- 32:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll talk about that too, so probably for well
- 32:10Speaker 2: might say that for top of the second hour.
- 32:12Speaker 3: So stay right there.
- 32:13Speaker 1: More. Justica's coming.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Except counts counting stocks.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you can be the great.
- 32:50Speaker 3: You can be the best. You can be the can't
- 32:53Speaker 3: calm Mann on your chest. You can beat the world,
- 32:56Speaker 3: you can beat the wall. You can dock the guy.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Old man, you know him, Fabo two three four fourteen fifty.
- 33:05Speaker 2: You want to call Fabo two four one four fourteen
- 33:07Speaker 2: fifty one. Text in on the whiskey thief text line,
- 33:09Speaker 2: or you can tweet me at just the Cat Radio.
- 33:12Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about the fun news.
- 33:17Speaker 2: UK gets the four star football player out of Tennessee,
- 33:21Speaker 2: Miles Brown, cornerback, beating out U of L and Tennessee.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I thought it was funny, but.
- 33:31Speaker 2: He picks up I don't know if you saw the
- 33:33Speaker 2: video or not justin did you of him doing the commitment?
- 33:36Speaker 2: He picks up a Tennessee hat and then he throws
- 33:39Speaker 2: it back down and gets the UK hat and puts
- 33:41Speaker 2: it on.
- 33:42Speaker 1: So I listen.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I'm glad he picked Kentucky, believe me, and I'm not
- 33:46Speaker 2: making I'm not picking on him whatsoever. But have they
- 33:51Speaker 2: gone a little too far with the whole commitment stuff.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I didn't think this one was quite as bad as
- 33:56Speaker 2: some out there that just have a whole video process
- 34:00Speaker 2: of we're going you know, we're gonna do this, or
- 34:03Speaker 2: you know they have a shirt on, then they take
- 34:05Speaker 2: the shirt off and then they have another shirt on.
- 34:08Speaker 2: They take that to me, it's just like pick the
- 34:10Speaker 2: head up, sit down, go or just make your announcement.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Let's move on.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Couldn't disagree more?
- 34:17Speaker 1: Really, you like it?
- 34:19Speaker 3: I don't necessarily like it, However, you just said, you
- 34:23Speaker 3: couldn't disagree with me more. This is their moment. Like,
- 34:26Speaker 3: I will never hate on how a kid decides to
- 34:29Speaker 3: announce his commitment because it's the only time he's gonna
- 34:33Speaker 3: be able to do it. Now. You you get to
- 34:36Speaker 3: commit somewhere out of the transfer portal if you go
- 34:38Speaker 3: that route. But it's not this big sideshow where you
- 34:40Speaker 3: got hats on the table, and it's not like a
- 34:43Speaker 3: real huge decision that you're making in front of a
- 34:46Speaker 3: public audience. Whereas the high school commitments. Yeah, I mean,
- 34:50Speaker 3: they get a lot of eyeballs on these, So the
- 34:52Speaker 3: more creative they can be, the better it's gonna go
- 34:54Speaker 3: for them, because it's not you got to keep in
- 34:56Speaker 3: eyel in mind, right, Like, it's not just about where
- 35:00Speaker 3: they're going anymore. It's also about them because they're trying
- 35:03Speaker 3: to get their name, image and likeness out there so
- 35:06Speaker 3: they can potentially get a payday later on down the road.
- 35:09Speaker 3: So no, I don't I don't mind it at all.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Whatever kids want to do. Have I seen some that
- 35:13Speaker 3: have been silly?
- 35:14Speaker 1: Sure?
- 35:15Speaker 3: Am I gonna hate on him for that? No, If
- 35:17Speaker 3: that's what they thought was best for their decision, then okay.
- 35:20Speaker 2: I still I vividly remember the one kid that had
- 35:24Speaker 2: his mom sitting next to him, and evidently his mom
- 35:28Speaker 2: was a Florida fan or something, or an Alabama fan.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I forget which way it goes.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Do you remember that one and he picks the school
- 35:35Speaker 2: he wanted to and then his mom gets up and
- 35:37Speaker 2: walks out.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Who was this?
- 35:40Speaker 3: I can't remember who it was? But yeah, remember do
- 35:43Speaker 3: you remember the teams? I want? Alabama? I want to say,
- 35:46Speaker 3: was definitely one of them.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's like he picked Florida or somebody. It's like,
- 35:52Speaker 2: oh my gosh, can you imagine being the son and
- 35:57Speaker 2: your parents gets up and walks out out.
- 36:00Speaker 3: So it was Jacob Copeland. He committed to Florida, his
- 36:03Speaker 3: mom wanted him be yet Alabama. Okay, so I was
- 36:06Speaker 3: right as far as Jacob cole. And where is Jacob
- 36:08Speaker 3: Copeland today?
- 36:09Speaker 1: Probably? Uh, not in the NFL and hopefully got his
- 36:12Speaker 1: college degree.
- 36:13Speaker 3: So probably at his eighth school he is. He is
- 36:22Speaker 3: not far off. He's a wide receiver for the Orlando
- 36:26Speaker 3: Pirates of the Indoor Football League.
- 36:28Speaker 1: There you go.
- 36:29Speaker 3: So maybe mama was right, Maybe he should have went Tobama.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Oh oh really? Is that?
- 36:33Speaker 2: He probably would have never played and would not be
- 36:35Speaker 2: playing for Orlando, and uh but be good for him
- 36:39Speaker 2: for still trying to live out his dreams.
- 36:40Speaker 1: So U but that that's that's tough.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I mean, I just can't imagine being seventeen, eighteen years
- 36:45Speaker 2: old and your parent walks out because they're mad where
- 36:48Speaker 2: you want to go for your future. I just I
- 36:51Speaker 2: don't understand that. But uh uh, all right, let's talk
- 36:54Speaker 2: about the new rule. Okay, that that it's going to
- 36:58Speaker 2: be effective this season. If you remember, teams sometimes line
- 37:04Speaker 2: up punt formations using skill players right rain non lineman
- 37:09Speaker 2: numbers outside of the whole fifty to seventy nine in
- 37:13Speaker 2: lineman spots to create mismatches and or confusion on the
- 37:18Speaker 2: other side, particularly to set up fake punts. The new
- 37:22Speaker 2: rule targets those jersey number exception formations. So when a
- 37:27Speaker 2: team uses those non lineman numbered players in the punt formation,
- 37:32Speaker 2: the snapper and the two linemen on either side of
- 37:34Speaker 2: them are now fell officially ineligible receivers. This eliminates the
- 37:40Speaker 2: confusion for officials and defenses about who can legally go
- 37:44Speaker 2: out for a pass on a fake punt. So all
- 37:47Speaker 2: this is doing is just helping the officials to be
- 37:51Speaker 2: able to call penalties now here is why the coaches
- 37:55Speaker 2: are upset. The backlash has been just incredible. Coaches say
- 38:00Speaker 2: it could lead to more block punts, higher injury risk
- 38:04Speaker 2: to punters, and a logistical headache. Players with number exceptions
- 38:09Speaker 2: may have to check in with officials repeatedly.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Which you know that's gonna do.
- 38:15Speaker 2: That's gonna just slow the game entirely, and it's gonna
- 38:23Speaker 2: drive everybody crazy because of its slowing down, and it's
- 38:25Speaker 2: gonna be complicating playclock management. Many coaches have also said
- 38:31Speaker 2: they found out about the rule change from a media
- 38:35Speaker 2: reporter after it had already passed. That's the other issue,
- 38:40Speaker 2: So they didn't even know it was up, and they
- 38:43Speaker 2: didn't even know it had been implemented, So the bottom
- 38:46Speaker 2: line had essentially cracked down on creative puntformation is designed
- 38:50Speaker 2: to full defenses. The NCAA says it's a clarification special teams.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Coaches say it's poorly thought out rule that limit stressed
- 39:00Speaker 2: gen creates new problems and uh. The nc double A
- 39:04Speaker 2: is expected to review its impact before the twenty twenty
- 39:07Speaker 2: seven season, so we're stuck with it coming up this year.
- 39:10Speaker 2: It seems like, what are your thoughts on this ridiculous rule?
- 39:15Speaker 3: I mean, that's the perfect word for it. It's ridiculous,
- 39:17Speaker 3: like we're we're doing this so we don't or so
- 39:22Speaker 3: we can no longer trick receiving to like wait, what right?
- 39:26Speaker 3: That that's part of football? I don't. That's the one
- 39:29Speaker 3: part of football that I've never had an issue with
- 39:31Speaker 3: the way that punting works. Like and for the officials
- 39:35Speaker 3: to not know who's an eligible receiver or not, that's
- 39:39Speaker 3: their problem. What Take them back to school, put them
- 39:42Speaker 3: in a class. Let's go through punning one oh one,
- 39:45Speaker 3: and let t reteach these guys who and who isn't
- 39:48Speaker 3: an eligible receiver in a fake punt formation? Like that's ridiculous.
- 39:55Speaker 3: NC double a man, I'm I'm done with it. I'm
- 39:58Speaker 3: so freaking done with the NC. I want to know
- 40:01Speaker 3: why they wanted to secret secretively get this approved.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I mean, who is in there that's saying we need
- 40:08Speaker 2: to get this in there right now? It's almost like
- 40:10Speaker 2: the push the cush push what CUSHU? The push cush
- 40:15Speaker 2: whatever it is? You know what I'm talking about?
- 40:17Speaker 1: Stop it?
- 40:18Speaker 3: Cush push is something else? The push push no snoop
- 40:23Speaker 3: Dogg's involved with that one.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 40:25Speaker 3: But no, I mean, like again, I don't have any
- 40:29Speaker 3: issues with the way punting works in the game of football,
- 40:32Speaker 3: so I don't. I just don't see a need to
- 40:34Speaker 3: change that. And and why you're you're right, why not
- 40:37Speaker 3: why implement the rule? And you didn't send something out,
- 40:41Speaker 3: You didn't send out a big group emailed all these
- 40:43Speaker 3: coaches letting them know, hey, by the way, we changed
- 40:46Speaker 3: this rule. Yeah, it's just bad management. I'm right there
- 40:51Speaker 3: with you. All right.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Let's get to a couple of texts before we have
- 40:53Speaker 2: to go from the first hour. One person texted in, no, buzz,
- 40:57Speaker 2: you aren't a Celtics fans. I'll give you a hou
- 41:00Speaker 2: teams though. What are we talking about here? This texter
- 41:04Speaker 2: on the text line? It's a Lexington number, right, Is
- 41:07Speaker 2: that what you're reading? I don't, Okay.
- 41:09Speaker 3: So he's on this whole diatribe that you cannot be
- 41:14Speaker 3: a fan of somebody that's so far away. Like he
- 41:18Speaker 3: was telling me that I'm not a Steelers fan. I'm
- 41:21Speaker 3: actually a Colts fan because that's my local team. And
- 41:24Speaker 3: it's like he just he doesn't understand that you can
- 41:27Speaker 3: be a fan of wherever you want, and we all
- 41:29Speaker 3: have a variety of different reasons why we're fans of
- 41:31Speaker 3: certain teams.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I grew up a Cowboys fan, and
- 41:37Speaker 2: then when Jerry Jones came in, I saw I'd never
- 41:39Speaker 2: root for the Cowboys again, and I've kept to that promise.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I was a huge you don't even remember who this is.
- 41:45Speaker 2: The head coach of the Cowboys when I was a
- 41:47Speaker 2: kid was Tom Landry and I loved Tom Landry. I
- 41:50Speaker 2: was all about Tom Landry and the way that Jerry
- 41:53Speaker 2: Jones fired him when Tom Landry was on a golf
- 41:57Speaker 2: course and it was by a phone call. I'm like,
- 42:00Speaker 2: I'm done with the Cowboys and I've disliked the Cowboys
- 42:02Speaker 2: ever since.
- 42:03Speaker 1: So I I listen. I lived grew up louisll Kentucky.
- 42:06Speaker 2: I was somewhat a Bengals fan, but then I just said,
- 42:08Speaker 2: now I'm a full blown Bengals fan. I've always been
- 42:11Speaker 2: a Bengals and a Buccaneers fan.
- 42:14Speaker 1: What's wrong with that? I don't mean live in Cincinnati.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Well here's the deal. Like, so Buzz is a Celtics
- 42:20Speaker 3: and a Braves fan. This Texter love this Celtics. This
- 42:24Speaker 3: Texter doesn't think that Buzz should be a Celtics or
- 42:27Speaker 3: a Braves fan because they're not his area team. But
- 42:30Speaker 3: when Buzz was growing up, the Braves were always on TV.
- 42:33Speaker 3: So Buzz is a Braves fan because that's the baseball
- 42:37Speaker 3: team that he always got to see when he flipped
- 42:39Speaker 3: on the two that, like, that's just yet another reason.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Like I said, we all have different reasons for being
- 42:45Speaker 3: a fan of certain teams. I don't well, I don't
- 42:47Speaker 3: need the whole regional thing, all right.
- 42:49Speaker 2: So I was a Celtics fan as well, because I
- 42:53Speaker 2: mean I liked Larry Bird. He didn't play for a
- 42:57Speaker 2: single team that I cared about. I mean, he played
- 43:00Speaker 2: for Indiana State, and he played for the Celtics the
- 43:04Speaker 2: rest of his career. So I became a Celtics fan.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I loved Robert Parrish, I loved Cornbread Maxwell, I loved
- 43:11Speaker 2: Kevin McHale. I mean, I can go through the whole
- 43:13Speaker 2: list of players that played on the Celtics. I was
- 43:15Speaker 2: a diehard Celtics fan.
- 43:17Speaker 3: You're gonna leave out Indiana for Larry Bird. He played
- 43:22Speaker 3: at Indiana, But come on, now, I don't know, I
- 43:25Speaker 3: don't think he actually ever played but he did go
- 43:28Speaker 3: to Well, he was on the team, wasn't he for
- 43:30Speaker 3: like a year? And then he left.
- 43:32Speaker 2: And went to Indiana State. I'd like to know why
- 43:35Speaker 2: one day. I hope we learned and maybe it's out there.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Why did he go to Indiana State? Of all places?
- 43:41Speaker 2: Why not somewhere? I wonder why Coach Hall didn't try
- 43:45Speaker 2: and get him come to UK.
- 43:46Speaker 3: I'll give you two names, Bobby Knight, That's why I
- 43:49Speaker 3: would have went to Indiana State. I don't need that
- 43:52Speaker 3: guy screaming at twenty four No.
- 43:54Speaker 2: ESPN was well exactly the players that survived that Isaiah Thomas, like,
- 44:01Speaker 2: for instance, how did they do it?
- 44:04Speaker 1: That whole barrage of how Bobby Knight was.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Do you do you think he had challenges Bobby Knight
- 44:09Speaker 2: within himself and that's why he acted the way he did.
- 44:12Speaker 3: No, I just think it was the army dude in him.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Oh, it's the military side of him.
- 44:18Speaker 3: Kind thought. Don't you think he was like that before
- 44:22Speaker 3: you went to army? Though probably not. I feel like
- 44:26Speaker 3: the military really shapes you into who you are later
- 44:29Speaker 3: in life.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Do they really? Okay?
- 44:31Speaker 2: Because you know, one of my closest friends that I
- 44:33Speaker 2: grew up with his name's Walter Hurd. He retired as
- 44:36Speaker 2: a colonel and the Special Forces. I've talked about him before,
- 44:40Speaker 2: and he was I mean, no part of his personality
- 44:44Speaker 2: ever changed.
- 44:45Speaker 1: He was always very serious.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Now we could joke along with him, and he had
- 44:50Speaker 2: laugh with us, but he was always a very very
- 44:54Speaker 2: serious guy.
- 44:56Speaker 1: It's like, why are you hanging out with me? I'm
- 44:57Speaker 1: a I'm a clown and you're so.
- 45:00Speaker 2: I guess maybe opposites do a track, because that's the
- 45:04Speaker 2: we're complete opposites.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Yeah, without a doubt.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Honestly, I don't know how Bobby Night grew up. So
- 45:09Speaker 3: maybe he was like that before he ventured into the military.
- 45:12Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, I'm just I'm curious about the texting feud
- 45:17Speaker 2: we got going on.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I'm kind of happy about that.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Josh texted out, I'm scared to text because Lexington texterter
- 45:23Speaker 2: might scald me for being a fan of a team
- 45:26Speaker 2: outside the area.
- 45:30Speaker 3: You're scared and never went away, Lexington guy. Okay, that
- 45:36Speaker 3: made me laugh a whole bunch right there. That was
- 45:39Speaker 3: a great text, Josh. All right, text, you've got one
- 45:44Speaker 3: about soccer. I want to save that for hour two
- 45:47Speaker 3: because we're that's a great question that he has.
- 45:50Speaker 1: We'll get into that after that.
- 45:51Speaker 2: But one person said from Ohio and been a Steelers
- 45:57Speaker 2: fan since I was a kid.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Tell that texture to a kid.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Wow.
- 46:03Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 46:04Speaker 3: This is all I had no idea. We had a
- 46:07Speaker 3: feud on Sunrise with Scoots and here we go. Well
- 46:10Speaker 3: text drama.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Listen, mister Lexington, Texter, I would challenge you. I'd like
- 46:17Speaker 2: to hear response from you, mister Lexington, or even more so,
- 46:22Speaker 2: I would like him to call in three and four
- 46:24Speaker 2: five two three four fourteen fifty. I bet he doesn't,
- 46:26Speaker 2: but you know, I might as well try. So when
- 46:28Speaker 2: we come back, we got to talk about the NFL,
- 46:30Speaker 2: what's going on there? Plus Southway West Airlines? How dare
- 46:35Speaker 2: you ban this from your airline? We'll talk about that next.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Stay right there. Our two are just cats coming right up.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Welcome just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 47:06Speaker 2: All right, welcome back to hour number two. If you
- 47:08Speaker 2: want to call in, you can do it at five
- 47:09Speaker 2: O two three and four fourteen fifty. Mister Lexington, I'd
- 47:12Speaker 2: love to hear from you, or you can text me.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Mister Lexington on the Whiskey Thief text Line five oh, two,
- 47:18Speaker 2: three to one, four, fourteen fifty. I do want to
- 47:20Speaker 2: hear from him. I'm not going to make fun of
- 47:22Speaker 2: you at all. I would like an explanation to this,
- 47:26Speaker 2: because I think it's a I think what you bring.
- 47:28Speaker 1: I think you mean.
- 47:29Speaker 2: What you say is that you can't be a fan
- 47:32Speaker 2: of teams if you don't live in the area. My
- 47:34Speaker 2: my criticism has always been, like with my niece's husband,
- 47:40Speaker 2: they moved out to San Francisco, so they live out there.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Now they've lived out there, I think the lights five
- 47:46Speaker 1: years or so. And he grew up a.
- 47:49Speaker 2: UK fan, a Cincinnati Bengal fan, Cincinnati Red fan. Now
- 47:54Speaker 2: he claims to be a Giants and a four fan.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Or here's the here's what. It's even worse. One of
- 48:04Speaker 2: my other close friends I grew up Okay, sorry, Josh,
- 48:07Speaker 2: take a shot. I got two best friends okay, three,
- 48:11Speaker 2: two I grew up with and one that I've had
- 48:13Speaker 2: in my adult life. The two I grew up with
- 48:16Speaker 2: a Randy aw and Walter Hurt that I talked about
- 48:19Speaker 2: that was a colonel in the Army. Randy was in
- 48:22Speaker 2: this secret Service and he worked in the White House
- 48:26Speaker 2: and he protected President Bush for a number of years
- 48:28Speaker 2: till he retired.
- 48:30Speaker 1: So Randy.
- 48:32Speaker 2: With the Secret Service moves to Alabama, even though he
- 48:36Speaker 2: went to UK graduated from UK.
- 48:39Speaker 1: He is now a die hard Alabama fan.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Do you think that is right for him to change
- 48:47Speaker 2: allegiance even though he is a lumnust of UK.
- 48:51Speaker 1: He is now a diehard Alabama football fan.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Well, after that thirty eight three beat down from Signetti
- 48:58Speaker 3: and the Hoosers, he's probably no long on.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Okay, see there you go again.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Okay, stop, I'm just trying to ask you a serious
- 49:06Speaker 2: qu You gotta throw that in.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I'm just saying thirty eight three. God, that was.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Without Nick Saban too, and his bags of cash coming
- 49:14Speaker 2: in the back door. So I mean, you know, as
- 49:18Speaker 2: ed Orgeron would say, we used to have that stuff,
- 49:21Speaker 2: bags of cash coming in the back door.
- 49:23Speaker 3: I would love to know what Nick Saban had to
- 49:25Speaker 3: say about that. He saw it Ordern's back right, No,
- 49:29Speaker 3: I did not see where ed orser where is he coaching?
- 49:31Speaker 3: He is going to be an assistant under Lane Kiffin.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Oh, under Lane Kiffin.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Yes, maybe maybe we get to hear the goat tigers.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Of course we'll get to hear the goat Tigers. And
- 49:41Speaker 3: the only thing I don't want to see is the
- 49:42Speaker 3: shirt come off.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Okay, I know what. I don't want to see anybody's
- 49:47Speaker 1: shirt come off. That's a guy.
- 49:49Speaker 3: There's I don't either. But there's something really funny about
- 49:52Speaker 3: fat guys taking their shirt off. Temmy, So I'll say
- 49:57Speaker 3: a phrase from you. Where am I wrong here?
- 50:02Speaker 2: So I fat guy Michael Bennett takes his shirt off,
- 50:05Speaker 2: You're gonna just enjoy it without a problem.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Anytime a fat guy takes her shirt off, it makes
- 50:09Speaker 3: me laugh. Yeah.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I thought about you the other night because I know
- 50:12Speaker 2: you love the whole tarp off. And it happened the
- 50:16Speaker 2: other night in Tampa by our Saint Petersburg with the Rays.
- 50:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they had the tarps off out in the field.
- 50:24Speaker 2: And then some guy had to tweet in there and say,
- 50:27Speaker 2: well it started in Colorado. It's like, who cares where
- 50:30Speaker 2: it starts? Of course, it is kind of taking.
- 50:33Speaker 3: It's taken over all of Major League Baseball, and I
- 50:36Speaker 3: think it's football. Think back to last college football season
- 50:39Speaker 3: or remember there were several instances of people without shirts
- 50:43Speaker 3: up and stands like twisting their shirts over their heads,
- 50:45Speaker 3: and it's I love that. That's become a thing.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Now if you do it in the intead of winter
- 50:54Speaker 2: in Green Bay or where's that really another old Buffalo, Buffalo,
- 51:02Speaker 2: that's it right there, in a absolute deluge of snow.
- 51:07Speaker 2: You got my utmost respect for sure. I don't know how,
- 51:11Speaker 2: because there are times that those guys do that in Buffalo.
- 51:14Speaker 2: I don't know how they do it.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Isn't this offensive to women?
- 51:17Speaker 1: Though?
- 51:18Speaker 3: Like so, for the instance, the Cardinals, they put out
- 51:20Speaker 3: a tweet a couple of days ago. They were like, oh,
- 51:23Speaker 3: the tarp's off section. Come on up. Their shirts are optional,
- 51:27Speaker 3: not if you're a woman. All right, you're telling me
- 51:29Speaker 3: shirts are optional for women too? Kidding me?
- 51:33Speaker 2: Listen if it is, I'm getting season tickets. I mean no,
- 51:39Speaker 2: that's come on. Let them have their fun. Let's not
- 51:42Speaker 2: make this a he shy thing. Okay, I don't. Yeah,
- 51:46Speaker 2: let's just it's fun. It's just fun loving guys out
- 51:49Speaker 2: there having a great time trying to get that's what.
- 51:51Speaker 2: That's the one thing with baseball you don't see in
- 51:54Speaker 2: a lot of other sports. You know, they always have
- 51:57Speaker 2: let's let's wear some crazy hats and get that rally going.
- 52:00Speaker 2: I just I enjoy that kind of stuff.
- 52:03Speaker 3: So I think the cup stacking has always been good. Yes,
- 52:07Speaker 3: get to ask.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Didn't they do that a couple of years ago at
- 52:11Speaker 2: Vanderbilt a bunch of UK fans had like a had
- 52:15Speaker 2: a like a cup snake going up the stands, which
- 52:19Speaker 2: I thought was awesome. Yeah, but anyway, I enjoy I
- 52:24Speaker 2: do want to ask you this, speaking of cups of beer,
- 52:27Speaker 2: are you saddened by the news from PAP's Brewing Company
- 52:33Speaker 2: that after one hundred and seventy seven years, there will
- 52:38Speaker 2: not there's not going to be Schlitz beer anymore.
- 52:43Speaker 3: No, I'm not sad.
- 52:45Speaker 1: No, but think about it, though, one.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Hundred and seventy seven years they have been making Schlitz beer.
- 52:52Speaker 2: That's hard to say on the radio.
- 52:54Speaker 3: By the way, I thought you were they were taking
- 52:56Speaker 3: away PBR And I'm like, well, they just released a
- 52:59Speaker 3: pickle piece, so I don't I don't think that's gonna
- 53:01Speaker 3: be the case.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Wait wait, wait, wait, yeah, they released a pickle beer.
- 53:07Speaker 3: I actually had it for the first time last night,
- 53:10Speaker 3: and I love pickles. I love beer. I've had some
- 53:14Speaker 3: pickle beers in the past that I think have been tremendous.
- 53:17Speaker 3: This was a huge swing in a miss was it
- 53:20Speaker 3: really it almost tasted almost tasted like a flat beer,
- 53:24Speaker 3: or it tasted like it just it didn't have enough pickle.
- 53:27Speaker 3: It needed like an actual shot of pickle juice added
- 53:30Speaker 3: to it. Then I think it was that's jamison. That's
- 53:33Speaker 3: a pickleback. Now you can't have pickle and beer. Okay,
- 53:36Speaker 3: no you can't. You definitively can. There's one I had
- 53:41Speaker 3: from Wisconsin. I wonder if Joelie's maybe had it, but
- 53:44Speaker 3: it's I can't even remember the name, but it was.
- 53:46Speaker 3: So this is unbelievable.
- 53:48Speaker 1: This is doing the pickle and beer.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's they're using Grio's pickles. So I think
- 53:54Speaker 3: that's probably the issue. Maybe you should have used like Velascic.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Maybe it been a little better.
- 53:59Speaker 2: I okay, now you've got me intrigued. I have no
- 54:03Speaker 2: idea what you're talking about. They had what kind of pickle?
- 54:07Speaker 2: And you know the difference in these pickles? Yeah, I
- 54:09Speaker 2: mean you got what it's called what?
- 54:12Speaker 3: I think it's grillos, but I always say a grios
- 54:15Speaker 3: because that's how you would say in Spanish. But yeah,
- 54:18Speaker 3: grillos g r I L l O S.
- 54:20Speaker 1: What is a grill o pickle?
- 54:23Speaker 3: It's just a brand of pickle, like Velassic or like
- 54:26Speaker 3: a what's another pickle brand? I don't know why I'm blinking.
- 54:29Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Okay, so it's a brand pickle. It's not a type
- 54:33Speaker 2: of pickle. Oh okay, And man, you are on top
- 54:37Speaker 2: of the pickles.
- 54:37Speaker 3: I love pickles.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Do you realize I don't love dill pickles. I love
- 54:44Speaker 2: sweet pickles. And when anybody at my oh, when anybody
- 54:48Speaker 2: at my church makes homemade sweet pickles, I'm all about them,
- 54:51Speaker 2: especially if they have a little bite to them.
- 54:53Speaker 1: What is wrong with you? I love that?
- 54:54Speaker 3: No, I can't do the sweet pickles. Okay, well, perhaps
- 54:59Speaker 3: we rib them made the announcement last week and they
- 55:04Speaker 3: they The claim to fame is that the beer that
- 55:07Speaker 3: made Milwaukee famous.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Did you know Milwaukee was famous?
- 55:13Speaker 3: Milwaukee is famous? Yeah? Is it really? I think Milwaukee's
- 55:19Speaker 3: all right? What's I've never been to Milwaukee, so I
- 55:22Speaker 3: can't tell you. I drove all right?
- 55:25Speaker 1: So uh so it's gorgeous because you drew through it,
- 55:27Speaker 1: drove through it.
- 55:29Speaker 3: It's right on the lake. The downtown was pretty cool.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Oh really, okay? Fair enough? What is famous about Milwaukee?
- 55:38Speaker 1: That's it? Does it smell like beer when you're driving through. No,
- 55:44Speaker 1: not really no, because you know when you.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Drive through, for instance, if when you drive to Hershey, Pennsylvania,
- 55:50Speaker 2: you smell chocolate. You smell chocolate, and you smell it
- 55:54Speaker 2: all over the place, it's amazing.
- 55:55Speaker 3: I mean, you don't smell ketch up in Pittsburgh.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you smell other things. Iron is probably what you smell.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I mean, I okay, okay, all right, thank you. I
- 56:08Speaker 1: appreciate that.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Uh, but I just when I think about, right, Louisville, Kentucky,
- 56:13Speaker 2: I think Louisville is famous for two really big things.
- 56:18Speaker 2: And there and there's definitely well there could be more,
- 56:22Speaker 2: all right. Louisville's famous for Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs, Churchill Downs,
- 56:29Speaker 2: and it's also famous for uh hill Rick and Bradsby
- 56:33Speaker 2: Louisville slugger. I think it's also famous for bourbon. Uh
- 56:40Speaker 2: what else in Louisville is it famous for? It used
- 56:44Speaker 2: to be famous for KFC. I mean everybody around the
- 56:46Speaker 2: world when you said Louisvillekentu Oh KFC. Yes, I love KFC.
- 56:50Speaker 3: Texas Roadhouse. That's the thing about it, though people people
- 56:56Speaker 3: probably figure Texas Roadhouse is based in Texas. Yeah, that's true.
- 57:01Speaker 3: By the way, did you see the first ever one
- 57:03Speaker 3: is moving?
- 57:05Speaker 1: What do you mean the first ever Texas roadhouse?
- 57:07Speaker 3: Do you know where that was?
- 57:09Speaker 1: I have no idea where it was?
- 57:10Speaker 3: Clarksville, Indiana.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Really, why are they moving?
- 57:14Speaker 3: So? They have always been in the Green Tree Mall.
- 57:18Speaker 3: Green Tree Mall is kind of dying or has been
- 57:21Speaker 3: dying for many minutes, by the way, yeah, exactly, but
- 57:24Speaker 3: I guess the rent's just gotten too high, so they're
- 57:26Speaker 3: building their own standalone restaurant. But that was the first
- 57:30Speaker 3: ever Texas roadhouse, was right there? Was it? Really? They're
- 57:33Speaker 3: closing down. They're bringing get this, they're bringing Willie Nelson
- 57:37Speaker 3: to the celebration of their last day. Willie Nelson, why,
- 57:43Speaker 3: I have no idea?
- 57:44Speaker 1: That is how much pot is going to be around
- 57:47Speaker 1: that place? I mean, it is good.
- 57:49Speaker 2: All of Clarksville is going to Reek of Marijuana, just
- 57:53Speaker 2: to let you know. Okay, so I'll be staying away
- 57:55Speaker 2: from that.
- 57:56Speaker 1: I have no interest.
- 57:57Speaker 2: But okay, congratulations, don't I don't get the connection there.
- 58:02Speaker 2: But anyway, is that so because when I think of
- 58:06Speaker 2: Willie Nelson, now all I think of his pot.
- 58:08Speaker 1: It's not as music as.
- 58:10Speaker 3: His pot for sure.
- 58:13Speaker 1: How old is the guy? He's gotta belies. I was
- 58:16Speaker 1: gonna say he's gotta be upper eighties, if not close
- 58:19Speaker 1: to ninety.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Now he is ninety three.
- 58:23Speaker 1: There you go.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Wow, dude, I was born in nineteen thirty three. That's coral.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Wow.
- 58:30Speaker 2: That's good for him. Well, congratulations Willie Nelson for coming up.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I'd still like to know what the connection is. I,
- 58:36Speaker 2: for the life of me, Willie Nelson and Texas Roadhouse
- 58:41Speaker 2: are two things I never saw coming. But all right,
- 58:43Speaker 2: let's get back to the Whiskey thief text line because
- 58:47Speaker 2: it's kind of going crazy here.
- 58:49Speaker 1: All right.
- 58:49Speaker 2: I do want to talk about this because I promised
- 58:51Speaker 2: the textter that sent this in earlier that I would.
- 58:55Speaker 2: But this deserves its own conversation because I think this
- 58:58Speaker 2: is a great question right here, Michael, I have a
- 59:02Speaker 2: soccer question for you, knowing you are not a fan,
- 59:04Speaker 2: do you ever envision a day when soccer eclipses the NFL.
- 59:09Speaker 2: My feeling is soccer has just lost too much time
- 59:13Speaker 2: to football in this country. I am not surprised World
- 59:15Speaker 2: Cup tickets are not selling. Well, all right, let's handle
- 59:19Speaker 2: the World Cup tickets number one. I think World Cup
- 59:23Speaker 2: tickets are not selling because they're too.
- 59:25Speaker 3: Expensive, way too expensive.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Nobody wants to pay those prices for a sport that
- 59:32Speaker 2: really hasn't gotten the appreciation as much as all the
- 59:38Speaker 2: other sports.
- 59:39Speaker 1: All right, all right, let's rank it.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Then we both agree as far as professionals, no, let's
- 59:45Speaker 2: leave it at forget professional sports. Let's talk about sports
- 59:48Speaker 2: in general. The most popular sport in the United States.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Is what would you say?
- 59:54Speaker 3: Probably football?
- 59:56Speaker 2: It's definitely football. I don't think there's any question about it.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: What is number two? Probably still baseball? Really okay? I
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: if not baseball, it's basketball.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: It's if exactly See, I think that's your two and three,
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: And honestly those could intertwine or those could go back
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: and forth either way.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: What is number four?
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Who wouldn't be tennis? Pickleball's not there yet. I don't
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: think we're there yet. With soccer, might be volleyball, is
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: it hockey? Hockey? Maybe? I don't know.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: I would think is it golf?
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Might be golf? Golf might be the right answer. See,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: I think it's golf, and then maybe hockey below that.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: But that's the other.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Problem with soccer, soccer, sockey, Where am I with alcohol today.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Uh, that's where I am.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: I think soccer is still not that I'm not I'm
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: not trying to pick on soccer because I don't like it.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: I'm just trying to create the reality, because that's the
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: way I like to talk the reality of sports.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: In the United States. Soccer is still way down there.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: You go to Europe and you go to South America,
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: it might be baseball, but I still think it's soccer
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: the most. If you go to Asia, I would baseball's
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: given in soccer a run for its money. Yeah, So
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: I still feel like that's the problem why the World
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Cup is not succeeding over here.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Nobody cares.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: It's like, why do I want to pay all this
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: money to go to a game that, Okay, the World
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: Cup's coming, it might not ever come back again in
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: my lifetime, but I just don't care.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: I'm not going to pay that exuberant calls.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Well, I think the textter said it correctly. I mean,
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: we've just lost so much time with soccer. We're so
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: far behind the rest of the world because they've been
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: doing like the United States has gotten really really good
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: at the youth soccer programs and doing it like they
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: do over in Europe, where you've got like a little city,
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: not franchise isn't the right word, but you've got like
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: that program where people can just elevate and elevate until
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: you get to the big squad. And that's how you
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: do it over in Europe, in places where soccer is crazy.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: So we're getting to that point. I wouldn't be surprised
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: in two hundred years from now if soccer is part
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: of the conversation for top three sports or top two,
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: maybe even the top sport in America. But it's gonna
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: take some time to build up to that.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: I just don't see it ever happening. I don't. I
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: don't ever also.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Didn't think you also there was a time in your
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: life where you didn't think you would have a computer
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: in the palm of your hands, and you do. So.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: I mean things.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Change, absolutely, things change. But soccer.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: I think the more we go in life, the faster
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: we want things. And that's my biggest criticism with soccer.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Soccer is too slow of a game for scoring and
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: to have games finish in ties that's not satisfying. That's
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: dissatisfying to me. And knowing that very few games in football, basketball,
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: or baseball. Ever, in in ties, we all want to result,
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: and we all want to result quickly. And the fact
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: that you have some games you just don't score at all,
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: that's just that's I don't ever see that in a
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: fast paced United States ever, overseeding football.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: I do think though, that if the other sports operated
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: the same way as soccer in terms of you're getting
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: points for ties and three points for a win, one
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: point for a tie, you don't get any points for
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: a loss, and you just keep track of the standings
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: that way. I do think if all the other professional
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: sports operated that way, you'd be more okay with ties,
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: because that is part of what makes soccer unique in
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: the way that they get points in the table and
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: all that.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: And that's probably what irritates me the most is that
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: there's hardly any scoring and sometimes they in ties. And
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: that's what frustrates me the most about it. I have
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: to have a result and and and a tie is
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: not a result to me. It's not a positive result.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: But in soccer it is a result because you're getting
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: a point.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Out of it.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Okay, whatever, I just I'm going to disagree with you
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: the entire time. That's just the way I am.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: You hate soccer, I love soccer. There's the difference, and
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: that's okay. I don't listen. I I'm not gonna say
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: I hate it. I just you don't use the word
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: but you hate.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: I don't. I don't like that word. Okay, I hate
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: the word hate. How's that?
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: Uh?
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: But yeah, I I just don't like it. I never
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: I played it as a kid, just it's boring.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: I watched my Yeah, I played it, yeah, and I
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: thought it was the most boring sport in the world.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: It's like, I'm gonna go play football. I'm gonna go
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: play baseball. I would have thought you appreciation, no, no,
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: zero zero, And I was so. Now I will tell
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: you the one part of soccer I do. I love
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: indoor soccer. When they play it off the wall. That's
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: fun to watch. I do like indoor soccer. Now, would
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: I want to go see that every week? No? If
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: if if Louisville what's there the team there FC or
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: whatever it's called, if they ever got into the highest
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: level of Major League soccer, I still wouldn't care. They
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: probably will one day. To be honest with you, you
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: think so.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: I hope they do. I hope it succeeds.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: I listen, I want at least one sport here in
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: town that is of the major league type that does well.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: You got it.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: It's if it's soccer, soy be Okay. You know, Patricia's
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: not around right now, so don't give me crap. Women's
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: soccer is the highest Okay.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Good, well, I would like a highest level of men's.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: You've got something.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: You have United States Olympic players coming to Lynn Family
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Stadium every so often to play racing. That's pretty cool. Congratulations,
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: that's great. I'm not going to go watch it. I'm
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: just not that interested. I won't go watch mens Why
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: am I going to go watch that? So no events?
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: I mean, it's it has nothing to do with men
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: or women. It just has to do with I don't
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: like this. Oh good, you know what, Look at your hat.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: I'm pointing right there at it.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Good, So there you go. Anyway, it's most ridiculous i've seen,
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: but it fits you.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I like that. I like that you're wearing a hat
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: that says good.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: There's not a not a hat I've ever met that
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: I don't like.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Well, I would agree with that too, especially it's your
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: favorite four letter word free, Josh, text it out Michael
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: talking about swallowing Scoots love affair with Pickles. I don't
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: know if I'm disgusted or turned on.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: I didn't tune in for that today, did you, Joe? Oh?
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: No, I didn't.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Okay, we gotta take another break when we get back.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: I do want to talk about this whole Southwest banning.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: I'm so you talk about being offended. I'm offended right
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: to right here by this. Josh, you're gonna be offended
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: by it too, So let's talk about the sus we
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: get back. Bible two three eight four fourteen fifty Babo
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: two four fourteen fifty plus.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: We'll get back to your text as well. Stay right.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: There a lot more of justic cats coming up, chilling,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: chiron magic, so good look up.
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: Second Plass one of us Shakestas shrikes friends. Bye, here's
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: the conversation, Shine, I'm edger songs and night I'm changing
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: nor the stay shoves?
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: Do they do? We headed out?
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: We do not doing bad.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: Bay rode out? Sup.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Oh maybe you wanted away Bavo two three four fourteen fifty.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I wish people should see what they're doing. You just
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: make me smile when I see you. But uh, anyway,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: just bobbing away, just head bobbing away.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I love that babo two four one four fourteen fifty
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: text me on the deep text line, all right, here
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: we go, Southwest Airlines?
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Why are you booting them already?
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: I just feel like this is the boo earthy story.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Have you seen this story?
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: By the way, All right, Southwest Airlines is banning all,
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: not just a few, but all human like and animal.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Like robots from its flights.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: They're not, yes, you heard me, correctly, not allowed in
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: cabin or checked bags, no matter if you paid separately
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: for a seat, claiming the large lithium batteries can cause
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: a fire in flight.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: So evidently there are people out there that have literally
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: bought these humanoid human like robots. And then on top
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: of it all, they showed a video of a guy
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: having this robot that he owned walk in front of
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: him and sit in a seat, and he had bought
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: an actual seat for the robot. And I'm thinking, this
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: poor god needs some friends. I mean, he's got to
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: get out in life and and and figure something else out.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: But I can't imagine.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: First of all, I understand where Southwest is coming from
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: because the lithian battery batteries are a problem. You know,
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: they're they're asking now because I flew Southwest yesterday and
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: they're asking you. You can only you're only allowed to
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: take one power bank onto the flight. What is it
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: about lithium batteries and going in the air? Do you
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: understand it?
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: I know I don't get it at all. But this
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: is this is a weird story.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: This is a weird story.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: But are robots even That's the other part I wanted
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: to know. It's like, okay, because I see the dog ones.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: You've seen the dog ones, haven't you. Yeah, I've seen
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: all right, here's one. I kind of like the one
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: that a person. So, for instance, my son, my youngest,
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: lives up in New York City. He could buy a
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: small little thing that rolls around the house and he
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: can control it from New York and talk to us
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: and act like he's.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: There with us. Those are kind of cool.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: I do like those.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: But the whole dog thing and having a human like robot,
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: I don't understand that unless they can do tasks for me.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: I don't know why you would want one of these things.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Why do I want a dog robot or a human
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: like robot today.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: I mean, I can't think of anything like It's like
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: you said, if it can do some of my task,
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: like if I could program that bad boy how to
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: cut the grass, then heck, yeah, I'm in sign me up,
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: do my laundry, do the dishes. Right.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: What if the thing is lazy and it goes sits
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: in your recliner and starts drinking on your wine. Are
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: you're gonna be happy about the problem exactly? And it's
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: crying because it's watching too much Hallmark movie and it's
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: taken your place.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: Now, yeah, we're we're gonna have some serious issues.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: So I saw this and I'm like, you know, I'm
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: kind of on southwest side because of the whole lithium
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: battery thing. But I don't understand what it is with
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: lithium batteries going up in the air because that has
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: caught on fire a few times. Not a few times,
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: but I know a couple of times. I don't know
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: if it's the pressurization, what is causing them to ignite
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: into a fire and then potentially bring the airplane down.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I have no idea. I don't get that.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, the signs behind that, I don't understand. But the
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: whole robot thing I don't understand, probably even more so.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: I'm kind of on the side of Southwest on this.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: What do you think even if they're paying for the
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: robot a seat for itself, you think they should be
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: allowed to bring them on.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: If safety is the issue and it could cause a fire,
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: then yeah, they're obviously doing the right thing. Also, on
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: top of that, it's weird as hell to have a robot,
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Like I don't want to be walking through the airport
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: and making sure old iron steel Larry's behind me stick,
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: you know, Like that's weird. Yeah, that's what it is. Is.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: I don't know how that's all that much different than
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: having like a blow up doll? Right, aren't they very similar?
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: That's weird. So I didn't believe you just said what
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: you said. I think they're used for two different reasons.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: But I mean, you could do you uh yeah, you
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: could take it either way you want, but uh my gosh,
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: you My point is just.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: Both of them are so damn weird, Like why do
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: you need either of those things? I don't get it.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: No blow up doll.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: I just can't believe you said that.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: My envision goes back to what's the Will Ferrell movie
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: with uh Luke Wilson, Uh yeah, Luke Wilson.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: And and Vince Vaughan where they're back in college. It's
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: got Snoop Dogg in it. Oh, come on, you know
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: this movie. It's not forty year old Virgin Virgin. It's
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: a old school that's.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: The name of it.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Remember when when Will Ferrell's up there and Owen Williams
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: or Luke Wilson's girlfriend comes over and and Will Ferrell
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: has that blow up doll and he uses the arm
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: to kind of wave hello to her.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I mean, that's my that's my envision right now of you.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: But anyway, you'd be out there on the front porch
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: and here comes Gill and you'd have the blow up
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: doll waving to him and.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: Just like, no, don't have one, never will. Yeah.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: I haven't either.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: I mean I bought some gag gifts, but I haven't
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: bought that one before. So anyway, and I'm not interested
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: in it.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: And speaking of that sort of topic, I was thinking
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: when Derby was here, are you familiar with Sorilla's.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: The story?
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Yes, it's you know why The only reason I'm familiar
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: with it is because it's next door to Mama's Barbecue.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: So don't give me crap. It's next door to Mama's
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: barbecue over there on Hurstpring Lane.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: I'm just curious because every time Derby comes around, Yes,
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: you got that airplane up there flying the Sorilla's flag.
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: How the hell is Sorilla's affording to pay an airplane
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: and buy all that gas and just to fly their flag.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: How much business are they getting?
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: I think he makes a pretty good living at it.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: I mean, I've always just assumed that nobody goes into
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: those places, but apparently they do.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: I think they do.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: I think they go in there more than you think
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: they do. So yeah, it's always I'll never forget. I
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: went there with some buddies one time. I didn't go
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: to Cyrilla, so went to Mama's Barbecue right there off
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: Hertspurn Lane, and my son was going to lunch with
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: me with my buddies, and he pushes me in the
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: front door of Sorilla's. I mean, I freaked out. It's like, sorry,
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: I have a nice date. I got out of there
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: as fast. I mean he literally pushed me as hard
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: as he could to go in that front door. I
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: was mortified just to let you know. So, uh uh,
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: this is gonna be a great segue. Yes, speak, we're
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: not speaking of anything about that store Milan?
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: Is it Milan?
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Yeah? Mom Chilovic.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: It's crazy, you know, just because I can say his
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: name correctly is going to mean that he doesn't come
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: to It's going to equate to him not coming to
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Kentucky because I can say it so quickly.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: Why you may not want it?
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Well, you saw that could reportedly make upwards of six
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: million dollars if he returns to college next season.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: I mean that's hard to leave on the table.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: If you're saying six million if he returns to college basketball,
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: you need to change that to six million whin he
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: returns to college basketball, because nobody in the right mind
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: is going to turn down six million dollars when you're
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: a friends first round draft pick.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Can you Kate afford him? Yes? Will they afford him?
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: I'm not willing to say that at this point. No.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I listen. I hope they can.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: I hope they do it, and I hope, well we
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: we we move forward and uh Malachi comes back and
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: Mamla Chick comes back that or comes six.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: I can say it and then you Butcher.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: It isn't that great? That's perfect? Mom chillivick.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: There we go.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I'm just gonna call him mom. Well, why not just
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: call him mom? A mom?
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: Please come home? Okay, that's all I want. I want
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: my mom to come home. So, uh that that would
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: be a fun team. Now at that point, I'm really happy. Yeah,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: and uh I listen, I'm gonna be real excited about
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: that team. Will they be as good as U of
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: L team put together? I would say they're right there
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: with them. I'm not gonna say they're better, but I'm
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: gonna say they're right there with them. Again, it all
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: happens to be the realistic side of me.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Michelle tweeted out five two four fourteen fifty. I live
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: in Milwaukee area. Okay, tell me what's famous about Milwaukee, Michelle, please?
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: I guess the only thing I can think of there
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: was that show back in the seventies when I was
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: a little kid called Laverne and Shirley that was based
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: in Milwaukee and they worked at a brewery. I would
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: just assume that the whole downtown area, since it's a
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: big brewery area would smell like beer. You know how
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: you go to Saint Louis and you get a certain
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: part of it down there around Endheuser Bush and it
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: smells like beer.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I love that smell.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Every time I go to Holesopple to meet my buddy
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Sam Gamble smells like beer. I think that's just a
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: fantastic scent. That's one of the weird sins. I do
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: like the scent of gasoline. I used to like the
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: scent of pot, but I hate it now.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: I don't know why. When I was in high.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: School and I would be at a concert at Freedom
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Hall and that scent would come over, I loved it.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: Now I hate it.
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: That is weird.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you have any weird sense that you actually
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: secretively love.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: Not any that I can think of off the top
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: of my I mean, like, I like the ones that
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: everybody likes, like fresh cut grass, the smell.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: After Oh, yeah, that's not weird. Sin.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: No, the smell after rains is another one that I
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: really Oh that's a great one. Yes, But I can't no,
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: I mean I can't think of any off the wall
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: ones that Uh yeah, I guess maybe I would join
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: you on the pot thing. I don't mind the smell
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: of it.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well, no, I don't like it anymore so.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: By the way, Chakey is also the birthplace of Harley Davidson.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Oh I forgot about that, Yes I didn't.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: I should have known that because one of my favorite
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: movies was Fletch with Chevy Chase, and he would he
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: acted like he was one of the Harley Davidson guys
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: and it was so funny. Oh yeah, Harley Davidson is
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: based in milwauk, Okay. All right, then it has a
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: level of respect. I'll see it. It's it's it's quasi famous.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: How's that? Is that good enough? We'll take I don't
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: think it's the level of Wulis, Kentucky. I don't. I know,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: not at all.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: It's one of the most ridiculous things you ever said.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: All right, all right, how Milwaukee Bucks. They got the
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: Milwaukee Brewers, but.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: That doesn't make them famous, makes them.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: Better than Louisville? You kidding? Oh okay, it's one of
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: the craziest things you ever said.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Go ahead and mute yourself. I'm happy today. You know
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: what Jolie texted. When I see Jolie texting, I'm happy.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: She texted and said, sad to see Schlitz beer go,
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: But honestly, I can't think of anyone around here that
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: drinks it anymore.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think it's very good, right, I don't know.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: I've never had it. I mean, I mean there are
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: a number of beers out there. Colt forty five, Yeah, twos,
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: maybe that's all we need. Colt forty five and two zigzags?
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: What's two ziggs?
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: You don't know that Afroman song? Oh no, oh, you
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: got to listen to that today, Cold forty Go listen
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: to afromn Cold forty five one of the best songs ever.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: Wouldn't Billy d Williams that did a famous commercial with
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: Cold forty five. He has to be the coolest guy
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: out there because you know, he's got the voice, he's
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: got the looks. Billy Dee will You don't even know
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: who I'm talking about too. Yeah, No, I just say
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: it's like, okay, I'm not gonna waste my breath in
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: uh but uh yeah, he that that is. He is
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: the coolest of cool out there, all right. Well, he's
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: been in a number of movies. One of my favorites
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: was probably The Ladies Man with Chris Uh with Tim Meadows.
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: You never saw the ladies man, So I'm wasting my
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: breath as usual. I don't know if you saw this
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: or not, but there's a little bit of breaking news
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: from a few hours ago. Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith Junior
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: was arrested this past Friday.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Freaking more story, freaking yeah, more.
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: Reckless driving and speeding going one hundred and thirty five
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: miles an hour in a seventy mile an hour zone.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: No point in that. There is never a time where
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: that's acceptable. Not one situation I can think of where
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: that's acceptable.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: He can afford it. Why not just go to a
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: track and do that.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: Why would you risk anybody else's life by going that fast?
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: Because he's a Georgia bulldog and that's what they do.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: Why now, he's a Georgia bulldog and that's what they do.
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: How many stories have you seen the last years of
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: a Georgia players speeding or a Georgia player doing this
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: or doing that. It's just I feel like Kirby's just
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: teaching them to be the worst individuals that they possibly
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: can be.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: Do you even know what kind of car he was driving? No,
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: it must have been like a Toyota Corolla or something
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: like that, something really fast Bugatti or something a Bugatti. Ah, yes,
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: a Bugatti Ferrari.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: Pa Bugatti's by the way, hot take. Bugottis are so ugly,
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: Did you ever see the guy on TikTok that bought
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: one through TIMU No, Oh, it's hilarious. It was, it was,
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: it was so it was an actual car that was
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: supposed to be a Bugatti that he bought and for
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: like hard twenty thousand dollars or something. Of course it
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: was all fake from China. It's a great video. You
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: should go watch that. So yeah, and he spent way
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: too He's probably spent nineteen nine hundred and ninety nine
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: dollars way too much anyway. But what made Milwaukee famous
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: forty eight Handley said made a loser out of me
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: and Jerry Lee lewis so evident a song by Jerry
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: Lee Lewis. I didn't really realize that the let's see here.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: The ultimate test of fandom occurred when the Brooklyn Dodgers
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: and New York Giants traded in the Polo Grounds in
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Ebbottsfield for Chavez.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: Ravine and Candlestick Park. Oh because I knew. I still knew.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: Let's see, when I was a kid, I knew there
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: were still some fans out there in Brooklyn that were
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: still Dodger fans.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: And of course they left and went to l A
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: and Giants as well. That that was crazy.
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: When they pulled over Willie a few years ago and
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: discovered a pound of weed, they arrested the whole bunch,
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: including Sister Rose, who played piano on the Family Bible.
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: You've arrested sister Rose. Wow.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know that.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: It's ridiculous. That is ridiculous, but we got to take
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: a sister in their name. You can't can't arrest.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: Sister Hazel. You don't even know who I'm talking about.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: For you, O very god see you.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Wow. Okay, it's music. That's row.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: That's one of my ten thousand songs. Is Oh my gosh.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: Everyone that's you know, every word of sister Hazel all
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: for you? Okay, all right, then all right. I I
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: I have no response to that, but congratulations, and Lad's
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: gonna get you paid. But you've done it, so we
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: gotta take our last break.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: Followed two four one four fourteen fifty Send me some
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: more texts well, we'll see you in a minute.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: Say so.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: You go down.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: Still so falling away from me when it says so long.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: To be We're on our last segment on this Friday, Friday?
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: Why did I say Friday? Oh my gosh, on this Thursday.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: I was about to let out of woohoo, and then
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: I was like, wait, I know exactly what you know
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: we got.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: We got Monday off next week, which I'm you know,
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: it's the whole big Memorial Day, Holly, opening of summer,
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: opening of all the pools, opening of everything. So I'm
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: excited about all of that. But all right, let's let's
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: talk about this. No surprise, but Rajon Rondo did not
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: get the Pelicans job.
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: Huh. If only there was somebody on this here program
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: that told you that was gonna be the case. Forget
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: what that was.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, okay, just look at your hat. Take your
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: hat off and just look at it, okay, and be good,
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: because that's all I want. Okay, yeah, all right. For
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: those that weren't listening. In the beginning of the show,
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: he's wearing a hat that just simply says good on it.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: But you some days you're far from it. But here's
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: the part that really miss me. So you know, Jamal Moseley,
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: who was the Orlando head coach, gets fired fromm then
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: because in five seasons he had a record of one
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: hund You're in eighty nine and two twenty one. So
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: what does uh the ownership in New Orleans doing their
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: infiment wisdom, they hired Jamar Moseley as their head coach. I,
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: for the life of me, I did not understand that
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: higher at all. I mean, You've got so many other
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: people out there that potentially would do a lot better job,
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: and you hire a coach that was just fired, that
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: didn't do a good job.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: Why would you do that?
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: Because he's got experience. He knows what it takes to
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: win games in this league.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: No, he's got experience on how to lose game in
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: this league.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: He if I heard you correctly, he won one hundred
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: and eighty nine games as Orlando.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: And lost two hundred and twenty one games.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's in Orlando, the armpit of America. Oh
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: my gosh, Okay, I thought it was a good hire
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: you did. I thought it was a terrible hire.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: But New Orleans we.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Can revisit in two or three years. When he gets fired,
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: but as a right exactly, it's.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: I listen, I bet he last two years and that's it.
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: It's better than Rondo, who has never coached.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but we went their whole list. I don't have
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: it in front of me anymore.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: We went through a whole list of coaches that had
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: never coached, that took a job in the NBA, and
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: majority of him had been successful. So I listen. I
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: like Raon Rondo. I think when when he's being interviewed,
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: he does a phenomenal job. He's articulated, he's positive, he's
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: very energetic. I like Rajon Rondo. I thought it would
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: have been a great hire.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: I don't dislike. But I don't know. I'm saying a
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: head coach.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: Okay, well, I neither of us know that right now.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: So I do want to talk about the Cavaliers in
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: the Knicks the other night. Holy cow, man, I don't
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: know how you blow that game, but uh, you know,
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: twenty two point lead in the fourth quarter only to
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: lose to the Knicks, and uh uh I why did
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: the Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson not call it? He had
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: all the time, all his timeouts, didn't he and he
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: didn't call it. He said he wanted to keep it
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: in case it got close. Well, you're allowing it to
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: get close. Doesn't every coach it? I mean, I know
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: I'm not a coach, you're not a coach, But isn't it.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: Coaching one oh one? The way you stop momentum as
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: you call a time out?
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: You would think, Yeah, I mean, maybe he's never mind.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say that, No, I'll say it. I
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: was just gonna say, maybe he watched too much, too
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: many Kentucky games this year. Oh, because Mark had a
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: very similar issue.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Yeah he did.
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: And I just I think that's the wrong move, and boy,
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: he proved it. But I don't know if you saw
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: the video after the game, all the fans that were
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: fighting in the streets and oh yeah, Nix and Nixon
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: Cavaliers fans.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Now you know the Cavs had a ninety nine point
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: nine percent chance to win that game?
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: Did they really? And they lost?
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: Holy the Knicks at one point on the money line
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: during the game, We're eighty to one to win that game.
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: Eighty to one.
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: That's that's just incredibly amazing. I mean, never did I
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: think that was gonna happen. I mean, I got to
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: a point it's like, Okay, it's time to go to bed.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: I turned the TV off. It's like, why do I
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: want to watch a game? And then I turned it
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: back on. I watched the rest of it because here
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: it is like the Knicks were down three and the
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: next thing you know, they were up by eight.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: It's like, I just why did he not call a
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: time out?
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: Crazy? I don't get it.
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: But you know, poor Donovan, Mitchell and all the you
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: know whatever, So I didn't feel bad. I'm happy for
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: kr Anthony Towns. I want to see him win it.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: I'm no offense to Shay. Shay's one of my favorite players,
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: and Shae's one of my favorite former players at UK.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: But you know, he's won NBB twice, He's won a title.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: It's let somebody else win, and I think Carl Anthony
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: Towns is a good choice. I do have I brought
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: this up on my show yesterday. I do have a
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: weird feeling that the Knicks are gonna find a way
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: to get it done. I hope, really, because that's the
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: least that I don't I want to see them least
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: win it out of anybody left.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: But I do. I just have a feeling they're gonna
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: find a way.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Even over Uh yeah, San Antonio or Oklahoma City.
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: So that okay, because we talked about on Tuesday who
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: your pick is going to be, and you were a
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: little bit on the indecisive side, and you said, well,
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: it's probably gonna be Oklahoma City.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: Now you've switched it and you're you're full board, nix.
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: No, I still think, in my heart of hearts, I
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: still think, okay, see wins it. But I've got a
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: bad feeling that the Knicks will find a way.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: Fair enough, all right? Then? All right?
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Uh, did you realize there is one thy six hundred
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: and ninety six NFL players today? I didn't know there
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: were that many. The maths is not math, really. I
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: looked it up and it said one thousand, six hundred
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: and ninety six. Go ahead and check me out. They're good.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: I'm glad you're wearing your hat today. Right, Yeah, okay,
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: thank you, you're welcome. I mean, I do give a
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: lot of misinformation.
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: Ninety nine are you? Yeah?
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: Ninety nine point nine percent of the time I'm wrong, Okay,
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: but there's that point. Oh one, I am absolutely on
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: top of it. Okay, I was on top of it
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: with this one. Just I'll look at the hat. I'm
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: right there with you. I thought it would be a
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: far less. Did you think it'd be more or less?
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: So did I?
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: And it's like, no, there's a one thousand, six hundred
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: and ninety. But that's not the reason I brought up.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: So they were pulled by the players Union on what
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: do the players prefer playing on more turf or natural grass?
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: And what percentage do you think do you think they
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: prefer natural grass or artificial natural grass? For sure, I agree,
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: and that's what it is. What percentage do you think
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: want to play on natural grass?
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: Seventy eight.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Percent of the NFL players want to play on natural grass.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: And clearly it's less injury. It's it's it's better for
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: their joints. It's better for all kinds of stuff, but
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: all of it happens to be with injury, and it's
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: related to that.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: Now, how many can you guess?
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: Because I think this is fun, can you guess how
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: many NFL stadiums have natural grass and how many NFL
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: stadiums have artificial grass.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with ten for real grass. And so
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: that would mean twenty for artificial twenty two?
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: Do you is it twenty?
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: Yeah, because there's thirty two too.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: Well oh no, no, no, a couple of teams play
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: in your state exactly exactly. So you got you got,
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: you got, you got thirty in all. Yeah, I'll say
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: send ten natural ten or twenty two.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: Are you ready for this? It's split down the middle?
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: Oh really, it's actually fifteen stadiums have natural and fifteen
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: stadiums have artificial.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: Fascinating that blew my mind.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: And I'm trying to figure out. All right, so you
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: know the ones that don't are the indoor one, so
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: like for instance, Minnesota.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: Uh, those are the ones that should Atlanta, you have
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: climate control, they should have grass.
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: What's the one where they roll is it Arizona?
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: Where they roll it outside and let it grow outside,
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: then when it's football day they roll it back in.
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: Wasn't it that one? I thought that was the greatest thing.
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: So anyway, God, that show flew by today. All right, Uh,
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: tomorrow we're going to be back. We'll have a lot
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: to talk about tomorrow because memorrowl day, so we got
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: lots of things to celebrate.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: All right, everybody, have a great day. We'll see you tomorrow,
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: and just the cats Astoria warn the onside pas
