- 2:39hit a thousand supporters, we're going to launch that Bob's Burgers podcast. But
- 2:43today we're here to discuss see Homer run an episode that I don't really think
- 2:46knew what it was. It was like, it was a Homer and Lisa
- 2:50story. You know, we've had them before. You know, it's somewhat
- 2:53of a different spin here. And then about two thirds of the way through
- 2:55it, they're like, hey, politics. I was like, okay,
- 2:59cool to bath him. And I was like, for me, when when
- 3:02The Simpsons does a political story, I feel like, to ensure you don't
- 3:07look well, come across like you're sitting on one side of the fence more
- 3:08than the other, you need to dedicate the whole episode to it, not
- 3:12just cramming into the final act of the episode. I think the other thing
- 3:15when you're doing a political episode on The Simpsons is you've got to be kind
- 3:17of wishy washy. Yeah, you're right. This had a lot of splenders
- 3:22on his bump. For by sitting on the fence, I mean basically saying
- 3:25I don't know, politics is bad. It becomes a bit of a circus.
- 3:30You know, people are going to be distracted by bells and whistles or
- 3:35in this case, a salamander costume. I'm not really saying anything all that
- 3:40incisive or insightful about the political process. Um Dan I put it out here.
- 3:46He didn't know. He thought this was an episode that didn't know what
- 3:50it was. I knew what this episode was. It was twenty two minutes
- 3:53of a sucky character that sucks. That's what it was. Getting more and
- 3:58more infuriated and disenchanted with Homer as the years go by, as the weeks
- 4:04go by, as the episodes go by, I've got to say, I
- 4:06mean this was just kind of infuriating, kind of upsetting, kind of just
- 4:13like, why, what's the points of this guy? Yeah? The thing
- 4:17is that, and I know the people who run the show now say every
- 4:21episode's in its own vacum. You're not supposed to compare it to the Golden
- 4:24Near. Blah blah blah, that decide. It's hard to do that when
- 4:27you're grown up on the show, right, it's the same show. You
- 4:29can't just all of a sudden go, okay, we've got to forget that
- 4:30everything that's come beforehand for the sake of comedy. Even if we do do
- 4:34that, they've just made home of this character where in this episode he is
- 4:42They tried to make it like he was ignorant in the way he was being
- 4:45mean to Lisa, But how dumb you have to be to realize that your
- 4:47daughter is so sad that you didn't like her thing. And then like moments
- 4:50later, once he's had time to think about it, he still says,
- 4:54why is she upset? It's my day? I'm like, really, that's
- 4:58how you followed up the moment with getting sad about the photo, Like that's
- 5:00just it's just douchebag, man. It's just it's like, even if he's
- 5:05not mean to be a douchebag, he's a douchebag. Don't it really is?
- 5:09It really is the case? And I know, look, they've racked
- 5:12up hundreds of episodes by this time, and yeah, it's difficult to I
- 5:17don't know, find that freshness still. But at the same time, I
- 5:20mean, I think there are ways to explore the fact that you know,
- 5:25as a parent, you may have inadvertently or or just through ignorance or shi
- 5:30pigheadedness or whatever, hurt your child's feelings or disregard them or whatever. I
- 5:35think there are all ways to do that that don't necessarily beat you over the
- 5:39head by with how yeah, how much of a douchebag your your main character
- 5:46is? I mean, I think it's detrimental to the show in the long
- 5:47run. I think this is, you know, a prime example of why
- 5:50people were starting to say, there's the Simpsons sort of passed its prime,
- 5:56you know at this stage. I think it would have been a nice direction
- 5:59for this episode, considering they brought the politics into it, right, And
- 6:02I'm not sure whether they were hinting at this at the moment, but when
- 6:05Lisa says, you know, you should go for Mayor because then good people
- 6:10like me could tell you what to do, I think it would have been
- 6:12an interesting spin to say, Lisa, she doesn't necessarily respect Homer now,
- 6:15but she can see his popularity as the salamander, right, and she thinks,
- 6:18Okay, how can I manipulate the system so that I'm essentially the mayor
- 6:21of Springfield. I think it would get a really good idea you get started
- 6:26earlier, started that segment, like the beginning of Act two with the politics
- 6:29right, then Lisa essentially becomes the mayor of Springfield through Homer. That would
- 6:32have been a more fun story, I think, yeah, And I mean
- 6:34it'd be interesting if you know, I mean, Lisa's smart, of course,
- 6:39but she's still a child, still immature in a lot of ways,
- 6:41gets corrupted by power and Homer, who's essentially good at heart, even though
- 6:46you know they're doing their damners to make sure that we don't see that helps
- 6:51her see the error of her ways by you know, I mean, Homer,
- 6:56for all his faults, is fairly innocent to naive. Yeah, and
- 7:00then then then you would get an ending where the emotional oh, we love
- 7:02you love each other would have felt earned because they've both done something wrong and
- 7:05they've both loved each other. But I mean, yeah, when Homers was
- 7:10saying, well, I'm gonna win back my child's love by any means necessary,
- 7:13it's like, does this ever work in any realm of the multiverse where
- 7:17the rats you know? Geelong in twenty twenty three or Springfield in whenever in
- 7:24the fictional realm never, and we've already had that I'm gonna win back it
- 7:28in the what was the first episode of The Manities, I'm gonna win back
- 7:30my wife's love. And I'm like, how many times you have to win
- 7:33back your family's love? Yeah, before they just say no deal, Yeah,
- 7:38before they start, you know, doing the big X no dace.
- 7:41Yeah. So um, But yeah, I just think it would have been
- 7:44really interesting to see Lisa become the mayor of Springfield through Homer and everyone angry
- 7:47at Homer, but then him coping the hop cop in the heat for Lisa.
- 7:51Well, let's it'd be a nice sort of reversal on the on the
- 7:55American Idol episode where Homely begames like the Colonel Tom Parker character and manipulating Lisa
- 8:01and all that kind of business. And yeah, they'd be kind of a
- 8:05nice callback, kind of a nice echo. I mean thematically, I think
- 8:09it could kind of work. Yeah, but no, they did not do
- 8:13that. Now I'm sorry. I mean it looks easy for us in our
- 8:18lavish recording studios and beautiful down down Gelong as Count Basie licks his balls in
- 8:22the background to be thrown down potshots at Simpson's HQ thing. You know,
- 8:28they've got enough on their plate, and you know, hindsight is of course
- 8:31twenty twenty. But yeah, looking at this episode was like, there are
- 8:35so many ways, big and small, this could have been done a bit
- 8:39better. I mean, one note I've taken here. I mean this is
- 8:43only slightly related to what I'm talking about. But you know, there's a
- 8:46bit with Lisa's Janey's dad takes her, takes her to the zoo every week,
- 8:50and I was like, I want good at the zoo anymore, and
- 8:54Lesa go, yeah, that's right. Not to be all classic Simpsons would
- 8:58have done it this way, but classic Simpsons would have done it this way.
- 9:01You know, they would have thrown a nice little sort of flashback or
- 9:05throwaway gag of like Homer doing something ridiculous, like a three second bit,
- 9:11and you probably wouldn't that's notice. Oh that's a about that, And then
- 9:16Simpsons fans forevermore would have been re enacting that moment at the actual zoo when
- 9:20they go visit the zoo. Yeah, yeah, but that's not what we
- 9:22got. No, that's not what we got. No, so it wasn't
- 9:26a bad episode. It was just an episode where I sort of went,
- 9:28ah, don't really just a little bit more thought went into this, and
- 9:31it's as he said, it's easier to sit back in our chairs twenty years
- 9:35later. And you know, we weren't paid to write this, so you
- 9:37know, all credits then they were paid to write this episode. But who
- 9:39did write this? Let's have a quick look. By the way, I
- 9:41believe it was a woman who wrote this one. Yeah, Stephanie Gillis and
- 9:46Nancy Cruz directed it. So all female cast, ye, all female,
- 9:50not cast, but you know, all female people behind the scenes. So
- 9:52I think it's important that you do probably have a female sort of head behind
- 9:58a mind behind the When it's a Lisa based episode, I think it's more
- 10:01important. But yeah, it just didn't really didn't quite hit the mark for
- 10:03me. Yeah, I mean, all the stuff about Lisa flipping out in
- 10:09the playground. You know, she's clearly reached reached a boiling point and she's
- 10:15taking out of frustrations on all one Sundry. Everything she's saying is valid.
- 10:18The way she's sang it feels kind of a bit clunky and a bit sort
- 10:22of obvious, although you know this one was twenty years ago, and I'm
- 10:24sorry, it's half of me to concentrate, by the way, when you've
- 10:26got a cat just having the time of his life in the background, that
- 10:28it's awesome. I just like watching the cat. She's prancing around, licking
- 10:31his balls, scrashing around. I don't know if we're going to keep this.
- 10:35The thing of it is, yeah. Listeners of the show may have
- 10:41heard the story that the Lovely Louise, the Wonderful Louise recently got a new
- 10:46couch. I inherited her wonderful couch, got rid of my couch. Now
- 10:50I put my old couch on Geelong Marketplace on Facebook twenty five bucks for a
- 10:56freedom. Couch has been ripped a ship by a cat. But know you're
- 11:00in stains, come get it. Some guys not playing me. But he's
- 11:03like, oh you'm interested in then, I'm like, you're gonna come and
- 11:05get this? Oh yeah, we're I'm here. I haven't heard himhim since.
- 11:11Eventually I'm gonna have to put this thing out on the ad on the
- 11:16Nature strip. But right now it is in pieces around the house and count
- 11:20Basie the cat is like cool things for me to climb and scratch part of
- 11:26it in the recording studio. And he's up there right now, as Dan
- 11:31I said, having the time of his life. I'm not sure if you
- 11:33can pick up the fact that you can hear his claws that are ripping in
- 11:35the fabric um. The value of this count just going down down, down
- 11:41by by the second. So yeah, eventually come by Hernhill and you may
- 11:45find a couch on the on the nature strip could well be yours if you've
- 11:52got the means to take it away. Hey, my favorite. All right,
- 11:56what did you enjoy from this episode? Mister Davis? As we all
- 11:58know, I'm a I'm a Quimby man. I vote one Quimby, So
- 12:03anytime that he's on and any time that he is just contemptuous of his electorate,
- 12:09I'm all for it. So I was happy to see him and essentially
- 12:13say, okay, so I snakduf doubler on that's great. I'm also great
- 12:18to see you know his I guess, mistress, you know what I'm sure
- 12:24we've seen, miss Quimby. You mean he's actual, I mean he's he's
- 12:30dumb wife or dumb girlf an. I mean, what do you mean,
- 12:33yeah, we have left up her name before we continue. I'll find it
- 12:35again, but yeah, continue. I'm always happy to see her. And
- 12:39you know an acknowledgement that her voice is kind of silk. Well, I
- 12:43think she doesn't have a problem with her speaking voice. She does have a
- 12:46problem with her singing voice because people think it's dumb. I don't know.
- 12:50I enjoy her, so I was happy to see her make an appearance.
- 12:52But I can't find no anytime Quimby is just launding his power and lauding it
- 13:03over the people of Springville. It puts a smile on my dad. So
- 13:05it's very happy to see Quimby when Quimby. Here's the thing, right,
- 13:09the episode couldn't even give us a Quimby victory speech of any kind. It's
- 13:13just like, oh, yeah, and he got in, he got re
- 13:13left it in. I'm like, he didn't even show him. He could
- 13:18have been sort of say fuck you guys, I'm back in or something,
- 13:20you know, like didn't what he had, like the sign above him when
- 13:26you could see it in the background, when Ken Brockman was, you know,
- 13:28reporting that he was back in power or something. I forgot I should
- 13:31have written it down because there's something something like God, nope, change is
- 13:35bad, something along those lines to look no, that's not untrue. I
- 13:41didn't enjoy it as much as Hummer was a dick in this. I did
- 13:43enjoy because this is something that wasn't necessarily Humble's fault. It wasn't. It
- 13:46wasn't because we all somehow you know, have bad memories from times the time.
- 13:50But lousy magnet and turn out to be heavy birthday from Lisa. I
- 13:52was, oh, that's a funny video, like nothing's going right. Also
- 13:56enjoyed. Really is quick thinking when he breaks the window, just tries to
- 14:00wipe nothing. I watched it. I'm like, so this is even a
- 14:03WILLI maybe the guy I could enjoy. I'm not one anti willyum okay,
- 14:11feel going to take that out of contact, especially when you car pooling.
- 14:18But yeah, you're right, that was it. That was a good money.
- 14:20It's a very it's a very sharp thinking on not on Willy's part.
- 14:24Yes, making sure that window looked, yes, sparkly clean, but it's
- 14:28not even there. And I'm always a sucker for an every man for himself
- 14:31moment, right, I just love that every man for himself. But to
- 14:33back it up with trampel. If you must any more brain busters, it
- 14:41is time for this week's blockbuster. Brainbuster, mister Davis in this episode November
- 14:48twentieth and two thousand and five, What do you think was number one at
- 14:52the US box office? November twenty, two thousand and five, still though,
- 14:56and number third position? We had it on the last episode. Chicken
- 14:58Little still up down the top three, number three, Chicken Little number one
- 15:01and number two. What do you reckon it is? I'm gonna need just
- 15:05a little hint, just a tiny hint. It's based on a novel that
- 15:09was released in the year two thousand. That's that's no hint at all.
- 15:15Well, it's an adaptation of the film book released. Hang on, we're
- 15:20talking end of the year in the early two thousands and books. M hm,
- 15:28Now I take it back. You know, it's like, oh,
- 15:31there are a lot of books releasing. There was really only one name that
- 15:33you were thinking of. It was Harry Pottery, which one? But but
- 15:37which one? So let's see. The third was in the fourth or the
- 15:43fifth. So it's not Chamber of Secrets, not as caban, is it
- 15:48Goblet of Fire? Correct? What on Goblet of fire. Oh there we
- 15:52go. We took the took the scenic rand to get there. And the
- 15:56second one has had a comedy spoof film release since then. That stars your
- 16:00man John c Riley. Oh um, it's a hello, I'm Johnny Cash.
- 16:10And this is Walked Alone, Walk the Line. Let's Walked the Line,
- 16:12which was massive when it first came out. I remember, like Waking
- 16:15in Phoenix, wasn't it. He was like it was why the posted boy
- 16:18of Hollywood. When that movie came out, everyone loved it. Yeah.
- 16:22Yeah, it's a pretty good movie. Walk the Line. I mean,
- 16:22it's I love walk Hard the one that the one that sort of takes the
- 16:26piss out of it and you know Ray about Ray Charles and it takes bess
- 16:30out of all the music buyer picks. But it seemingly really took the took
- 16:34the mickey out a Walk the Line, which is the same. It sort
- 16:37of has diminished Walk the Line's impact since then, but it's a really solid,
- 16:44really solid biography of a really of a really interesting dude. As well.
- 16:47It's a great performance by Waking, a pretty good one by Reese Witherspoon
- 16:49as well as June Carter Cash. I mean I can see why people take
- 16:53the mickey out of though, because it actually does have people sort of like
- 16:57saying the lines of songs in like actual conversations, like you know, you've
- 17:03got Reese with a spoon saying to Johnny Cave you can't walk no lane.
- 17:07What does they even mean? It's a hot SLAMI man, I got a
- 17:11ring of fire. Next question, you there eating the past, mister Davis.
- 17:19It's time for some true viea. Before we do that, though,
- 17:22it's time to give some shout outs to our incredible supporters on Patreon, starting

- 18:52trivia. My first question for you is who is playing the king in the
- 18:56film Princess rock Star. That's Eugene Levy is the key. By the way,
- 19:02why at the cinema? My first question knew how much less is it
- 19:04for babies to get in fifty cents? Fifty cents less? What was really
- 19:10cooking when skinners set it's time to fix the or get the rats out of
- 19:12the lights? Oh? His raman noodles, correct, raman noodles, m
- 19:18h um. The pipe cleaner that Lisa I think bought in the end,
- 19:23it came from where I do you have my notes? I won't check.
- 19:27I can't mean by the looking it's something like do it yourself, your lazy
- 19:30ass or something. Oh, it came from that shop. Pipe cleaner itself
- 19:36came from No, I don't know what was. It came from Zemzibar.
- 19:40And my final question is who paid for Jimbo's campaign ad bullies of people bullied
- 19:45by Jimbo, the victor, the victims of jim bar that's that's that's funny.
- 19:51It's just like holding him upside down and just getting all the money out
- 19:53of their pocket. Yeah, my last question to you if you want there's
- 20:00a sign on the door of Cleius's truck. What does it read? What's
- 20:06it saying? No idea? What does it say? Said sour Mesh Enterprises.
- 20:11Okay, see I see clearis these days and go for a piss break.

- 21:23and chuckling at the occasional fart joke. Going Down to South Park is available
- 21:26now for free on iTunes, Spotify, or wherever you find your podcasts.
- 21:33Divisional air date obviously, Hammer Run was November twenty yet, two thousand and
- 21:36five. Written by Stephanie Gillis and directed by Nancy Cruz, the cash Gables
- 21:41Simpsons are all sitting on the couch as normal than it pans out and it's
- 21:42like they're in a zoo on the alien planet Rajel seven. That's where they're
- 21:47before. I believe Rachel seven, where King and Kotos are from. So
- 21:51the episode kicks off with Father's Day Eve, and I will say Lisa was
- 21:55a bit of a party poopy here. I'm like, motherfuck, we want
- 21:56to celebrate Father's Day, even let us celebrate my Father's Day, sort of
- 22:00real thing in your world. You're not a father. I can understand you
- 22:03feeling like this, dandy, I mean hopefully you know every day is treated
- 22:07as a Daddy's day. It's at the Dando household. You imagine it would.
- 22:11I mean, I've I've dropped around to your place and seeing how the
- 22:14kids just worship you. So yeah, i'd be I'd be surprised if they
- 22:18don't. Guys coming around. Make sure you're appreciating me. I appreciate Uncle.
- 22:25God no, don't let him in. But but yeah, so I
- 22:30hope it's just having a having a nice time celebrating Father's Day, which is
- 22:33going to be tomorrow. Marches are going to the mall and can I come
- 22:37with it? I know I can't. There is something exciting, you know,
- 22:40it's tanging cheek, you know, Nicholas close to Christmas, close to
- 22:41the birthday, Nicholas like, I think got to the shop. I'm like,
- 22:44okay, you can't come. I have to get something wink. So
- 22:47it's always a big fan you have with you, with your partner or whatever.
- 22:49But but one's money to buy a gift. This was an epic burn.
- 22:52By the way, You've got to give bart this. That's true.
- 22:57Hey, mom, can I have some money to buy dad at present?
- 23:00If I give your money, how is the gift really from you? Where
- 23:03do you get your money? Here's a ten make your own card. So
- 23:08we're now at the mall and the sign that the front says asking about our
- 23:11stepdad discounts. So you you're not technically a stepdad, but you are,
- 23:15Like do you see yourself as a stepdad or do you see yourself as just
- 23:18the guy that your mom seeing. I'm definitely my mom's boyfriend. Yeah,
- 23:25I'm Russell. For a South Park reference there, it was Russell, right,
- 23:30that was Russell whom ye stuff? But you're not You're not, you
- 23:33know, telling the kids are go out and chop Wood are No I am
- 23:38I am reaching the stage or I have Rechel sage. It's like, man,
- 23:41don't talk to him. I'm like that how do they how do they
- 23:45respond to that? When you were you telling them what to do? You're
- 23:48not my real dad. Have you had that yet? I haven't had that.
- 23:51Okay, they're probably too old for that, maybe think so. Yeah,
- 23:55And if they did, I'd be Oh, it's like you can see
- 23:59his heartbreak in real time. Uh No, I have not. But no,
- 24:04they haven't been like that yet. Ralph, he's turned Wigham's five into
- 24:10a fifty and then he puts one hundred because his kids paying out. I
- 24:12thought that this guy didn't work though, because the joke was that he stuck
- 24:18his hand in his throat and pulled the fifty back out, and he puts
- 24:19the hundred in and waits for Ralph to spit up the next man. I
- 24:22was like, but shouldn't he be what? Huh? We know we have
- 24:29dumb characters on The Simpsons, but often they're dumb for other reasons than being
- 24:36dumb, if you know what I mean. They're sort of blinded by like
- 24:40like greed or a sense of their own importance or something like that. I
- 24:45mean, we've said this before, even you know Ralph back in the day,
- 24:49you know, before he became like an absolute simpleton. He was more
- 24:53sort of naive and stupid, and that was kind of funny. Naive was
- 24:57naive, yeah, yeah, yeah, And but now they're just kind of
- 25:02it's like there's no one with a every every character in Springfield has got to
- 25:07double the JEDIKEA. Well, yeah, that's true. There's too many.
- 25:10Yeah, because he was not the he was the like the dumb character,
- 25:12as you put it right, the nice one, like the dumb character.
- 25:15But now everyone's just got the IQ of Ralph. It's like, but if
- 25:18they if they need them too for the sake of a joke, you know,
- 25:22yeah, exactly. Yeah. Bart then sees the Leather Buddy and Lisa
- 25:26has the Shrek shirt and I was like, I totally want that Shrek shirt.
- 25:30It would fit right in with the with the Dando line. Yes,
- 25:33I'll always sing the praise of Shrek. I love Shrek, and the kids
- 25:36love Shrek. But Shrek, like Shrek one and two, Shrek three,
- 25:38it's just kind of like, yeah, I'm sure, really sure you're going
- 25:41for here Shrek four. I'm like, what is this? I think I
- 25:42think I kind of lost track of what they would do. I mean after
- 25:47Shrek two, Yeah, I mean Shrek two is the one with puts some
- 25:48boots, right, that's where the first was introduced. Yeah, Shrek two
- 25:52is where he the fairy Godmother and things like that. Yeah, that's right.
- 25:55Yeah, but I don't really remember. It's Shrek three, the one
- 25:56with Prince Charming with timber Lakers, Prince Sharman, Shrek Forever after. No.
- 26:02I think Shrek three is where, yeah you get them the Prince Charming.
- 26:04Yeah. Okay, have you have you seen the new Puss in boots?
- 26:07No? I haven't. Apparently it's really good. Okay, yeah,
- 26:11he surprised me. Was a good character, and it's Antonio Vanderis. Oh
- 26:15yeah, that was That was the main thing I liked about the Shrek Rancher
- 26:19Puss in body that then he got his own movie, and I remember everyone
- 26:25just loving the sad eyes moment. I was like, yeah, the Big
- 26:27Kittie AE like that. Yeah, apparently the yeah, the Last Wish or
- 26:36whatever it's called. It's like, no, it's like a really good store
- 26:38and the animation is fantastic, and the villain is actually like villainous. Oh
- 26:42sweet. There's rumors of there's rumors of a Shrek five coming out, which
- 26:45you know, I will go and see. I wouldn't be surprised. I
- 26:48mean, I wouldn't put it past them. And in all honesty, I
- 26:52look, I think enough time has passed. Start going, Hey, Shrek
- 26:59like Shrek track. A couple of movies weren't that great, but track track.
- 27:03I think if you just sort of somehow it changed the timeline, so
- 27:07it just sort of it's like a follow off to number two and just pretend
- 27:08to number three and before never really happened. I think you can sort of
- 27:11work a way around that. That'd be cool and sort of go back to
- 27:15go back to the swamp and just go back to what everyone enjoyed, pretting
- 27:17fare quard back true. Yes, anyway, all these people are still alive,
- 27:22by the way, exactly, Yeah, capitalize on that. I completely
- 27:25agree. But Uma Lisa says she's not going to get this shirt. She's
- 27:27gonna make him something, you know, something with heart, making him a
- 27:30present, which I thought was quite nice. And she goes with the shove
- 27:33go do it yourself, your lazy ass, and she gets the what does
- 27:36she get again? The it's a pipe cleaner. Pipe cleaner, that's right,
- 27:38Yes, from Zanzibar home is now getting breakfast in bed. I don't
- 27:44really, I'm not a fan of breakfast in bed because I just want crumbs
- 27:47in my blankets. I can dig it. Yeah, I'm not. I'm
- 27:49not a fan of Like here's a tree with some pancakes and a glass range.
- 27:53Like. No, if I'm having breakfast in bed, oh, usually
- 27:57his two slices of toast and a cup coffee, I'm gonna put him on
- 28:00on the bedside table. Occasionally I'll grab a but yeah, take a bit
- 28:06of toast. But then you gotta shake out your doner and all that shit.
- 28:08No, I mean eating a whole meal in bit. I'm just no,
- 28:11I'm not for it. It's like, don't shit where you sleep,
- 28:12and don't eat we you sleep. This is news to me. I don't
- 28:18eat your ship. I gotta go change my sheets, and don't shop where
- 28:21you eat. Um. But so how it gets the leather butty and he's
- 28:25a big fan of it. He has the vision of him stopping pirates and
- 28:26whatnot. A Lisa gives him the Unicorn book just kind of hot as the
- 28:30pirate winch. Yes, she has the bosoms all pushed up and all.
- 28:34And Lisa gives home of the Unicorn book that she drew herself. Would you
- 28:38got Lisa? Hell, it's the unicorns? Are you and me? Dad?
- 28:45I do it myself? What do you think? Huh huh? Pretty
- 28:52high found huh huh oh, which heart felt hers No escaping dead? Thank
- 29:00you didn't like it? Did you? No? No, No, it's
- 29:03great. I'm done with it now. Her saying you know, pretty half,
- 29:08pretty half felt like she's she's nervous that he's not going to like it.
- 29:12We've all had that moment where you give somebody a present which you put
- 29:15a lot of thought into and you just hope that they understand and appreciate that,
- 29:19and when they don't, it's just like, no, Yeah, you're
- 29:25both you're both disappointed in them for not seeing how much it meant, but
- 29:30you're also disappointed yourself. A thing, Oh I missed the mark on this
- 29:33one. Yeah, And he's sort of like somewhat embarrassed and Lisa can't believe
- 29:37it here because he sort of just tosses it aside. And I was like,
- 29:38this is just like, arguably the meanness he's been as a dad,
- 29:42Homer, He's done cruel things, you know, He's choked his kids,
- 29:45and he's been he said rude things. But I guess just as a father,
- 29:49now look at this, and I was like, man, you imagine
- 29:52put yourself back and you've eight year old shoes and you've made something for your
- 29:55dad for Father's Day and he just tosses it aside. I'm done with it
- 29:56now, fuck you man. Yeah that kind of sucks. Man, That's
- 30:00what I've written down. Yeah, not good at all. And mar she
- 30:03just they put it on the fridge and this wasn't his fault where it goes
- 30:07into the water and gets all turned into paper mache essentially because the magnet doesn't
- 30:11work. But still I'm just like, yeah, not not great. Lisa
- 30:15sat on the swing a little bit later, and Homer still says here like,
- 30:18as I said, he doesn't get it. You know, it's my
- 30:19day. Why is she sad? It's like, man, don't stop sucking.
- 30:26It's just leave it at the at the at the fridge moment. You
- 30:27don't have to reinforce that this guy is not a nice person anymore. That's
- 30:30a difference between not understanding Lisa's at Lisa's efforts and just being a dickhead and
- 30:36saying, oh, it's my day. Why how dares she feels sad about
- 30:40what happened, but you know he and then he says, yeah, I
- 30:41know how to win movement back because I lost your wedding album. I mean,
- 30:45seeing Moe put photos of himself in the wedding album. That's fine,
- 30:48it's it works for the most character it's in keeping. Yeah, yeah,
- 30:52but I don't know, it just makes homement sound seem more dickhead. Anyway,
- 30:56when you get Bart and he finds the Bart Boulevards sign, this doesn't
- 31:00go anywhere. Oh no, actually I told it causes the accident, cause
- 31:04of the accident, but that after that moment, like I thought maybe Bart
- 31:08was going to become a Clapte or something. Also Bart Boulevards, I don't
- 31:12know. I mean, I would have liked some explanation as to why they
- 31:15was called bart Boulevard or maybe it was called like Barton Boulevard in his home
- 31:21and yeah, close enough and takes it from there. But it's just been
- 31:25called Bart Bull. Sorry, that's just that's a really tiny knit. But
- 31:30I'm searching really close and kind of picked. I mean, I pitched,
- 31:33I've pitched the sign, I stole Dando Road. I've still got that sign.
- 31:36Yeah, because you know the where the Avalon air show is here and
- 31:38here in Jolie an avalond that we we my family used to own the land.
- 31:42That sign. That's why you turned down Dando Road to get there where
- 31:48the airport is. Well, I would, but there's no sign that just
- 31:51laws, always paths and nighway all the time. That's why. That's why
- 31:56those that crash the ash the bullies tell the bullies tell Bart too, I'm
- 31:59just still sign is able to if it says so in the sixth moment,
- 32:01they can't do anything about it. And then because they realize they're good at
- 32:04pressure, don't they caused Millhouse to be hit by a train and I was
- 32:07assooming dead because he hit by No, he just breaks an arm apparently,
- 32:14and then dolphins off to Hebrew School. Homer is now taking listen to see
- 32:17a movie. We took the kids to see a film on the on Saturday
- 32:22at the kids Cinema Vie Junior. We took They were just putting Frozen on
- 32:24right. It was a John Wick chapter four. No, it was Forevermore.
- 32:30But we went to the to the screening of Frozen. And normally we
- 32:34go to these things and you know, it's quite quiet, not not quiet,
- 32:37but you know, there aren't many kids in there. You know,
- 32:37it's sort of just like, you know, maybe twenty kids. This was
- 32:40fucking packed. We rocked up all these kids, these girls and frozen dresses,
- 32:45and I'm like, oh no, and it gets no ship like plfing
- 32:50down to the movie and every parent in there. Nicola was livid, right,
- 32:54I was furious. Basically parents had taken their kids there. I'm all
- 32:58for kids having a good time, right and just you know, you know,
- 33:00it might might be go down the front and have a bit of a
- 33:02dance or whatever the songs, or you know, muck around. There's a
- 33:05slide there from to play on and some drawings and things like that. But
- 33:08they take a break halfway through, at the halfway mark, for twenty minutes
- 33:12for kids to have a play, right, to get their energy out and
- 33:15go back, sit down and shut the fuck up washing the movie again.
- 33:16I don't care if kids are talking or whatever, but these parents just sat
- 33:19there on their phones legitimately on like Facebook and stuff, whilst their kids are
- 33:22running up and down the aisles and they're hitting the screen and they're climbed over
- 33:27the barricade they're climbing up and down the slide, not in the slide,
- 33:29up on top of the slide, jumping up and down on things, throwing
- 33:32food around, and the parents are doing nothing, like nothing that's like them.
- 33:37It's like, if you just want to go somewhere where you kids can
- 33:39suck around and go to a cafe, and I'm playing the playground, don't
- 33:42bring onto a fucking move where people are paid money to watch the movie.
- 33:45And God bless them, Alliott and Holly sat there the whole time, didn't
- 33:49say fucking boo. I mean, the handcuffs helped, but they didn't move
- 33:52at all. Right, But I was really proud of them. But there's
- 33:54one point where I said there there was a woman behind me. I knew
- 33:57it was her sons that were climbing up and down the slide, and I
- 33:59was like, it's Nicola. That's the I'm getting the workers because there's no
- 34:01workers in there. I'm like, what's going on here? Like how can
- 34:04they have no staff? And the kids cinema? So I get out there
- 34:07and the ticket guys in. I said to him, can we have a
- 34:08member of staff? And here he goes, yeah, there should be three
- 34:10girls and now. I was like, there's no one in the mate and
- 34:13kids are climbing up and down the slides, and it's this chaos. Against
- 34:15said, you can have a lawsuit in the hand soon if someone falls off
- 34:16and hurt themselves and he runs off and he comes back and there's six workers
- 34:20walked in with torches. It was just like the FBI. Down, down,
- 34:23down down. But then the woman behind me just sits there and goes
- 34:28Jesus, they're just trying to have fun. I was like, oh,
- 34:31I hate you as a parent. I hate parents like this. Just if
- 34:36your kids can't sit still for fucking five minutes, don't bring him to the
- 34:38movies. You know what I mean, Go to a play center and let
- 34:40them run wild. Don't bring them to the movies if they can't sit still
- 34:44for ten minutes. I hope you. Or Nicolas saying let us go,
- 34:47let us go. At one point of the Nicola do want we shouldn't have
- 34:52come here and there at all? Well, I said, nickeodoas go time,
- 34:53don't She's like, no, we've paid nobod because it cost us like
- 34:55fifteen dollars a ticket. I'm like, we'll drop sixty bucks on this and
- 35:00I'm thinking the chick behind us, his son's ropping down. She had six
- 35:02kids with her. I'm like, so you've dropped like ninety bucks and you're
- 35:06just letting her. I don't want to think about it. Fucking kids,
- 35:10man. Oh Jesus Christ, where were we up to? What made me
- 35:14think about that? Other movies? Movies? Yes, Home has taken her
- 35:16to see Princess rock Star, but she leaves because he tries to make her
- 35:22potential. She's a two year old or whatever. She's embarrassed by this Barton
- 35:24showing off the sign to the bullies and they say, well, well one
- 35:28up you and will show you the screen. Then Lisa here, she takes
- 35:30her anger ahead on Martin's. Apparently she now hates all males, she hates
- 35:34men. She's become a feminist essentially. I'm not a feminist, but she
- 35:37know she just doesn't have any faith in the in the men. Stupid dad
- 35:42didn't care about my feelings. Oh, Lisa, Yeah, I borrow one
- 35:45of your colored pencils. Sure, that's all your men do is take and
- 35:49take and take without regard to feelings or unicorn here take my link too,
- 35:57don't take my whole back back which of you boys hur old Lisa Simpson's backpack
- 36:04through my window? Oh it had to be a boy, did it give
- 36:08a girl? Can't flip that? Well, you're wrong, my flexy cast,
- 36:23Lisa, I hold in my hand a sticker with a frowny face on
- 36:28it. Don't make me affix it to your file. Don't make me affix
- 36:31it to your file. I'm peeling off the back. Don't make me do
- 36:38this. May God forgive me the whole thing with a friend. It's drawn
- 36:45out too much as well. I'm I'm feeling it off. Don't make me
- 36:50do it. It makes sense to me in a sense that the skinny character
- 36:53like Lisa's, like he stopped student, he doesn't want because once it's on
- 36:55the record, it's on the record forever. He can't take stickers off.
- 36:58My stickers. Don't peel off, That is true. It's prevent a record.
- 37:02We come back and Willie is replacing the window, but then unfortunately breaks
- 37:06it again himself by accident, and Homer and Marger and Skinner's officer having a
- 37:09meeting, and we get the return of doctor Pryor, who did make a
- 37:13slight appearance in the flashback episode. Lisa Sacks, but this is the first
- 37:16prominent role he's had on the show since season one with Barte. Come back,
- 37:20Jay, Lauren Pryor, you have been missed. Yes. I like
- 37:22the way they had him hiding in the shadows as well, waiting for his
- 37:25turn to come out, because he's just been gone. And I like the
- 37:29character. I thought they should have had more of him. It's a wonder
- 37:30why he took sixteen years to return, like he was clearly going to be
- 37:35a major character. You would think he was quite He was in a couple
- 37:37of season one episodes, but then he just gone. It was weird.
- 37:40Beats me. Yeah, well, maybe I might even be in season two,
- 37:45but gets an Now, I don't even he was in the earlier seasons.
- 37:47Anyway, everyone knows the doctor Pryor is if you're a long time since
- 37:50Hiss fan. But he points out to to margin Homer that Lisa needs a
- 37:52positive male role model in her life or she could end up hating men for
- 37:57the rest of her life. And I thought, oh Jesus, it's a
- 37:58bit heavy. So, you know, then suggest that Homer becomes the safety
- 38:01salamander so that Lisa would respect him again. I'm like, okay, because
- 38:07anyone ever respected the person in the in the safety mascot costume. Yeah,
- 38:13I'm not too sure, but just to me that I watched it and I
- 38:15went, we've kind of done Homer on the safety thing with the Remember the
- 38:21episode was it like episode three? Was home? Was it? What was
- 38:23it called? Wasn't Home as Odyssey? Was it? Yeah? What was
- 38:25Home as Odyssey? That Episodehere he tries to kill himself and then you get
- 38:28the safety inspector. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's how he
- 38:30becomes the safety inspector. He actually puts all signs around the springfield and stuff.
- 38:34Yeah, but yeah, but this is certainly not the first time we've
- 38:36seen Homer in some position of quasi authority and I don't know, entering it
- 38:42with the best of intentions, but usually buggering it up. But his motive
- 38:45for doing so was like, people will respect me and love me as a
- 38:47result of this, I think this episode totally should have just started right with.
- 38:52No. Not Homer doesn't do anything as bad as he does in this
- 38:55episode, but it does something to upset Lisa. That's something like school,
- 38:58family embarrasses her or something. I Dad, you so embarrassing? And then
- 39:00Skinner says, you know, you know, whin the chance to be the
- 39:05safety Salamander or something like that, whin the costume or whatever, and then
- 39:07Homemade becomes that at the start of the episode, and then start the politics
- 39:10side of thing early on and have Lisa go, how can I use this?
- 39:15Well, yeah, he's sort of he's reluctantly drawn into it, Like
- 39:19you get to be safety Salamander for a day, it's like a great due.
- 39:22But then something like the accident that happens here happens. He becomes an
- 39:28indivertent hero and yeah, parlays that into into a higher public profile or a
- 39:32be little position. Yeah, I just felt it was such a drawn out
- 39:36way to get to where they got to in the end. But anyway,
- 39:38so he shows off the suit to Lisa. Essentially, he's just not very
- 39:40good at the job. He's causing a destruction online on the way to school,
- 39:45knocking things off with his tail and things like that. And then he's
- 39:47on the school bus and he tells Otto to slam the brakes because there's no
- 39:51seat belts and causes the kids to or chip their teeth, a gag which
- 39:53you've already had on the undertooth chipper when we're at there at the fair safety
- 39:59chip, No, do you know always double bolt your like huh? Questions
- 40:06comments are you a girl? Because I don't see a salad wiener? I
- 40:13here? Where are the fireworks? Got here? Darts? There's one way
- 40:28to get kid's attention. It's just it's fireworks on a light show. Great
- 40:31adults. What is that fascination with sparklers and things like that? I don't
- 40:36know, Like even if a birthday cake you put a sparkler on, it's
- 40:37like, oh, sparklers, this occasion just got specialized. Problem is,
- 40:49though, I would never put sparklers on my kids birthday cakes though, because
- 40:53you can't. You can't blow them out and be they they take longer than
- 40:57to fizzle out, and they want takes to see to have your birthday song.
- 40:59So you see the read this song and they's still going. Everyone's like,
- 41:01do we clap? Do we have to wait? What do we do?
- 41:04Do we have to do six hip hip rays this episode? Do we
- 41:08have to do that that dumb ass thing where you know, whoever all day
- 41:13are you sort of go clap clap, clap, clap clap. You know
- 41:16what's the clap clap thing. What's that? Have you ever been to?
- 41:20You know, like, there'll be a kid's birthday party. It's like they're
- 41:22twelve years old, so you go one, two, three, four,
- 41:24five, six seven. I've never in my life ever ever ever done that.
- 41:30It's a relatively new thing to me as well. But I saw it
- 41:31at a birthday party not long ago for a child, and I'm like,
- 41:36this is new and kind of stupid. It just seems are approve. No,
- 41:40just just blow you James over the cake and get on with it,
- 41:44can't you. There were that many candles on the cake. We know how
- 41:46old you want? Well, what's a birthday party? A couple of weeks
- 41:50ago? And the mother we're not invited to birthday. The mother cut up
- 41:53the cake right and she sort of grabbed it and one of the husband was
- 41:58like, don't pick the pieces up with your hands, and I'm like,
- 41:59mate, the kid just blew his bookers and it's not stop, but he's
- 42:01he's spit all over the cake. I don't think anyone cares. COVID is
- 42:06still real, dude, Yeah, and their kids it's cake. You could
- 42:09wipe dog shit and they'll still eat it. It's cake. But yes,
- 42:15so Homer's um, yes, he's not not doing too while he sets the
- 42:17fireworks off and causes a massive fire and everyone everyone from himself trampol review mustart.
- 42:22I'd kick out of that, trampol Liview must shout at least, and
- 42:25then suggests that you know why game does be you know a father like Janey's
- 42:30dad, just take me to the zoo once a month. You don't have
- 42:30to go over over the top like this. She's like somewhat embarrassed by Homer
- 42:34here. And then we get the massive accident that's caused by no barts On
- 42:38at the clearest moment but her giving birth, none of the kid whatever.
- 42:43Um, but yeah, massive car accidents occurred. Even the police helicopter has
- 42:45fallen down and crash. And then we get the news report. It's live
- 42:50broadcast with the news report by Brockman. Here Springfield needs a hero, and
- 42:53of course Homers a dad trying to win back his daughter's love. So he
- 42:57goes or and he says everyone including Drederick Tatum going Smithers, were sneaking a
- 43:00bit of a gay joke here with them only car pulling. And then Nelson,
- 43:05which I thought felt this felt if you fit the Nelson character. My
- 43:07mom's still in there, which is a perfect joke to make. But I
- 43:10can buy Nelson making it just for the haha pranking in the middle of like
- 43:15a twelve car pile up. Yeah, and then Homer wants six cheers instead
- 43:20of the three cheers, and then he gets given the key card to the
- 43:22city by me Quimby. As a result, at least he gets me the
- 43:24thumbs up. She's proud of him now. But then, but then episode
- 43:29becomes a political story. Now any new business, mister mayor, Your administration
- 43:34has been one fiasco after another. Oh the hell are you your press secretary?
- 43:37I knew I should have hired my nephew. I am your nephew.
- 43:40Okay, so I stink tough toblerone read the charter, people, I cannot
- 43:46be removed from office except by a simple recall election. And disregard that last
- 43:54part. I was really let down by the appearance of Freddy Quimby here.
- 44:04Oh yeah, we love the pompous Freddy Quimby. That's what we loved about
- 44:07him. You know, you know chowder, I said, chatter, sad
- 44:10French air, sad chadder. That's what makes that character so great the obnoxiousness
- 44:14of it. Right, I don't want Freddy Quimby to be a goody two
- 44:17shoes straightening up and flying right. No, no, you just love Quby
- 44:22brand. Yeah, I just I don't know, I know not trying here
- 44:27for me. It didn't work. I'm like, I don't want this Freddy
- 44:29Quimby. I wan Freddy Quimby to be the prick. That's what's so great
- 44:31about him. That correct, I just somebody just spiked the punch. But
- 44:37Quimby, he says, he can't be removed except if if you recall election
- 44:43and forget about what would have said. And now if one did, we
- 44:45get the recall, recall if one wants to recall. So if a news
- 44:47report, I love the subheading, knowe that old gray mare ain't what he
- 44:52used to be. And actually this would have made one of my favorite moments
- 44:55because it's so ridiculous. But it just felt so on point for Quimby.
- 45:00Even the fact that he tried to hijack a seven four seven Take Me Anywhere,
- 45:02Girls Are Going Wild Wild it felt very two thousand and five because Girls
- 45:08Gone Wild was like the pay per view thing it was, yes, but
- 45:12before you know, before the Internet was a wash with pawn. Well actually
- 45:17in it was a wash with porn from day one. But that's quality pawn.
- 45:22That's correct. If you want to get if you were a yes,
- 45:27a dude who wanted to get his kicks, so to speak. Back in
- 45:29two thousand and five, you had to get a Girl's Gone Wild DVD or
- 45:34log onto this side and just wait their forage as Wild went or Hijacker seven
- 45:37four seven, Oh Hijacking seven four seven, the quindy start. We now
- 45:42have two hundred candidates filing for the recall, including Luigi Wolfcastle, who was
- 45:45just bluntantly taken off Arnosutzeggi here vaulte for me a steroid abut think pat smoking
- 45:52women grouping son of a Nazi washtop has been movie star oh Old, So
- 46:00I believe we should keep an open mind towards stem cell research. That was
- 46:06so tough on wolf Castle. And it's funny too, because I love how
- 46:09Arnold has just reinvented himself now that he's in his mid seventies, like motivational
- 46:15speaking. Now he really is, I signed up for it. He's got
- 46:19this thing called yeah the pump up or whatever. It is like this newsletter
- 46:22that he sends out. My good buddy Ali sent me a link saying you
- 46:25should check this out. It's actually really good. And we're nineties guys.
- 46:30I was a little older than the Nighties, but you may remember that Arnold
- 46:34was like I'm Arnold and your punye do try and take an Arnold. I
- 46:38lived through the Terminator era. Yeah, yes, so you know he was
- 46:43just this. It was pretty much everything they're saying here. It's funny how
- 46:46kids like Elliot's age. We're just know him as like this old guy that
- 46:51did motivational speakers features and it's like, yeah, no, he was.
- 46:53He was. He was impresative, man, he really was. But yeah,
- 47:00but he did this lovely. We may have talked about it before,
- 47:02but he gave this lovely twelve minute sort of speech on YouTube and something media.
- 47:08Yeah, yeah, talking about you know, some people are following Neon
- 47:12Nazis, you should not do it. I mean he was actually he was
- 47:15actually very softly spoken, very measured, very rational and just saying I don't
- 47:21know why you're following losers. I don't want you to be a loser.
- 47:23I want you to be a winner. It's like oh, he's like your
- 47:28kindly uncle. It's like, I noticed, guy that you were smoking cigarettes.
- 47:32It's not good for you. Maybe you should not do it. He's
- 47:36become a school cancelor. He really had, but the best kind of school
- 47:39games are like what do you know about it? All? Man Schwartz and
- 47:43again, and then he just like arm wrestles, he on flips you into
- 47:45the next state. Basically, he's saying to all these people, I'm not
- 47:47judging you for doing this right, but maybe think about doing something else.
- 47:51It's like he's not telling us what to do, and he's suggesting an alternative
- 47:54might be better. Let's do it, and and he's using examples from his
- 48:00own life. It all works. So, yes, I look at Middlely.
- 48:06This was two thousand and five. Worn was probably like on the down.
- 48:09Yeah, I think I think his movie career was kind of like,
- 48:12it's not what it used to be, all that kind of stuff. He
- 48:14was a governor at this point. Oh that's true. Yeah, but yeah,
- 48:16so that we get here as well, yeahs Jimbo as well. His
- 48:19campaign pay for by his victims, and Lisa suggests a homer that he should
- 48:22do it because then only good people like her can tell him what to do.
- 48:24And I was like, oh, okay, this is going to be
- 48:27interesting. And it goes nowhere. Like Lisa says she's a campaign manager,
- 48:32but you don't see her campaign at all. No. Yeah, like I
- 48:36said, have her corrupted by power and her Homers say, you're a little
- 48:40girl and the best little girl. You know, there's better ways to do
- 48:44this or you know, admittedly we've seen that before as well, but I
- 48:46don't know, it's nice to be reminded that every once in a while,
- 48:50as opposed to Homers a dummy or an evil dummy, especially when he's drinking
- 48:54alcohol saying expand my brain learning juice, Homers. And at the press conference
- 49:00and the Lesser of twenty five Evils and marshays, you should take off the
- 49:04costume. And I think you know, people would appreciate if you're talking to
- 49:06a man's like, no, no, no, if people love the costume,
- 49:07just like George Washington and Dame Edner. And he takes some questions and
- 49:12let me asks what his special powers are as a salamander, and he gets
- 49:15big lasses, big lass of tennis balls, and I was like, this
- 49:17is the kind of show that guy would have seen him BALI you gotta sleep,
- 49:23honey, I'm just gonna go out and check out some of the Balinese
- 49:25nightlife. Yes. Brockman then brings up the choking photo because you know he's
- 49:30he's running against Homer. I said, well, he says he was,
- 49:34and then yeah, they never really make too much of Brockman being in the
- 49:37race. Then he was hosting the debate, and I was like, beasn
- 49:39he running, Like that's conflict of interest? Yeah, it's but I mean
- 49:44he brings up the checking photo, and Homers like, why should we let
- 49:45this, you know, this be influenced by photo taken hours ago? And
- 49:49I'm like, yeah, you really just really just trying to point out how
- 49:52silly politics can be at times, and how people are very easily influenced with
- 49:54things. And I was now drinking at Mos and We've got the ad on
- 49:58the TV from the power plant. Smith is talking about how I'm thinking,
- 50:00sis, he saved you from the plank from the car crash. Why Smith's
- 50:05sayings doesn't make sense? But he says they love this suit like they love
- 50:12their stupid American flag. I'm like, okay, so Homer is not a
- 50:15good person. Okay, we get it home is now drinking, now drinking
- 50:17at night before bed, marshes what's that smell? And he vomits in his
- 50:22suit and she wants to clean the suit because he's been vomiting in it and
- 50:24things like that, and then she rips off the tail and a chicken runs
- 50:27out and he says, that's funny because it started off as an egg.
- 50:30I'm like, okay, yeah, yeah, But she turns out she does
- 50:34wash the suit, but we actually see her wash the suit. No,
- 50:37no, no, So I think the payoff at the end when because you
- 50:42see it sort of ripping as he's flexing in the next bit of the debate
- 50:45and things like that. The debate has debate. But I'm like, but
- 50:47we didn't see her wash it, so like, why did this fall apart?
- 50:51Is? Oh, it's fallen apart because my wife washed it. I'm
- 50:53like, okay, yeah, I guess we're meant to assume that. Okay,
- 50:59the tailor is the rest of it comes off and it is going to
- 51:01be washed. But still it wouldn't be funny. I think to have Madge
- 51:06shrink see him Madge shrink it, and then have Homer try to put something
- 51:08else together. It looks like salamander maybe I don't, I don't know,
- 51:12sort of squeezing his way into it. Yeah, something like that. But
- 51:15um, yes, we got the crazy cat lady. We get everyone name
- 51:17here by the way it's at. Yes, Um, I don't know.
- 51:22It doesn't really add much. She's making making some valid points about corporate accountability
- 51:28in small business incentives when she's not talking about cats. Yeah, and then
- 51:30putting cats and everyone's pants also a valid campaign platform. Our next question as
- 51:37for the safety salamander, sir, how would you restore our city is crumbling
- 51:44infrastructure? That's an excellent question, Kent. First of all, the shrunk
- 51:52when my wife washed it without his costume. He's not but a man.
- 51:57He screwed this. I'm not going to let any human tell me what the
- 52:00due. And then sort of has a backup plane. He tries to introduce
- 52:01Lisa, his campaign manager, and she says no, and I'm like why,
- 52:06well, why why she's not going here to help him? Now?
- 52:08What's going on here? So then he says, and here's up his bar
- 52:12and then he pushes out Millhouse and I'm like, huh, what's happening?
- 52:16So we got we gotta was up call we gotta wise up. But I
- 52:20was like wow. And then everyone throws fruit he says, stopped throwing through
- 52:22it, so they thought throw cinder blox. And then we get the announcement
- 52:27on the news that that says nobody got the five percent. Quimby has been
- 52:30re elected back in even though that he didn't want it anyway, your lost
- 52:34jackasses, and so he was still running for it. Yes, okay,
- 52:39but he's okay maybe yeah says oh, yeah, what you tried to make
- 52:45this town a better place, so you're my hero? Yeah, which one
- 52:50I said, did he though? Yeah? I'm like he was actually not.
- 52:53He was drinking the whole time and not really trying to help the town
- 52:58at all. And you didn't try to help him. So if he's your
- 53:00hero, why didn't you help him? And then we get an anti Ben
- 53:07Afflete joke, which I guess probably worked in two thousand and five, but
- 53:08it doesn't really work now, have you asked me? No, great recent
- 53:14interview with Affleck online. You can track it down because you've got a new
- 53:17movie coming out about Nike trying to sign here Michael Jordan as the face of
- 53:23air Jordan and yeah, he freely it's like, oh god, yeah,
- 53:27back on the two thousands, Yeah, I stunk on eyes, nobody wanted
- 53:30to touch me. Was it Gigglely? Was it the movie he made with
- 53:32Lopez? Yeah, around that time. I think it was some of the
- 53:36Daredevil era as well. Yeah, you know, Matt Damon was on top
- 53:39of the world and Ben Affleck was going like, you stink Affleck. Yeah,
- 53:43Matt Damon got Matt Damon and everything, like, even when the people
- 53:45taking the piss out of him, it was still made him a movie star
- 53:47exactly. Matt Damon has always just come across like the one who if they
- 53:52were both in a bar, Matt Damon's one old approach and not be scared
- 53:54that he's going to have a go at me. Ben Affleck. I feel
- 53:58like he still is slightly unhinged. I think so, I do, and
- 54:01I think that's what makes him interesting. I think, you mean, every
- 54:06interview I've seen and Revern was like, oh my god, this guy's incredibly
- 54:08smart. But he's also you know, sixty three and built like a truck.
- 54:14It's like, oh no, It's like I think someone once said,
- 54:19it's like Matt Damon played good Will hunting. Ben Affleck is good will hunting.
- 54:25It's like, oh shit, yeah, yeah, he's just kind of
- 54:30guy like you just don't fuck with him. Like he would never he would
- 54:32never forget, never forget. But yeah, so that is our review of
- 54:36see Homer run an episode that it was. It was an episode that happened,
- 54:43and we talked about it. Yeah. I normally enjoy the Homer release
- 54:45of moments, the home release of stories because you know, that's the father
- 54:49of a daughter and things like that, and I was like the emotional beat.
- 54:52So I just don't think the the end he made any sense. It
- 54:55was earned. Here he says you're my hero. I'm like you what I
- 54:58just say't get it. I I think at some stage down the line,
- 55:04maybe it's a special feature or something like that, we should go back and
- 55:07find certain episodes that's like this is a good idea, but it's poorly executed
- 55:12and give just to maybe a ten minute rundown or breakdown of like here's what
- 55:15we would I mean, we kind of did that this, Okay, forget
- 55:21I said it. We're writing season thirty five of The Simpsons as we speak,
- 55:27at which point the guys of the Simpsons will say, you know what
- 55:30way did that in season seventeen. Yeah, we did it wrong. We're
- 55:31doing it right from forward. Your name droll be as time now Miss Davis
- 55:37for the Guy Davis New Name Championship. The current leaderboard stands at this in
- 55:42first position Luke mckayon eight points, second position Nori Coca on five points,
- 55:45and in third position we have a three way tie with Garrod harrow Hill,
- 55:50David Bott and Ryan Dan lap Or on the three points. Hit me this
- 55:53week? What do we got, mister Davis? Okay, first up,
- 55:57one point goes too, going to be very careful how I pronounced this seller
- 56:02manned seller manned yep with Mayor in there. Yes, So our man Luke
- 56:12McKay's got one point that puts him on nine points. He's getting first two
- 56:17points for the safety stance that is Fergus Jeff's Fergus Jeffs. That is puts
- 56:23him now equal third with all the other guys on three points while done Fergus
- 56:28nice one Ferugus and three points go to the running Manda. Oh I do
- 56:34like that one heath that will be so that's three points feat that will be
- 56:37all. That also puts him equal third position. So now we've got a
- 56:40five way tie for third position. Nice. How do you like those Applebee's?
- 56:45Well? Yeah, done, exactly? All right, So first position,
- 56:47first position is still Luke McKay on nine. Second Nora Coca that's still
- 56:51on five, and in third position Garrowed, Harry Hill, David mart Ryan
- 56:54Dunlap, and the newest members of the third division is Heath Appleby and Fergus
- 56:59Jeff's all on three points. Don't forget guys, you want to be part

- 57:07get to be a member of the four Fingered Discount Facebook community and comment on
- 57:10guys posts. Deil here. All right, it is the first question here
- 57:17for this see Homer Run mail bag. This one here comes from Harrison McClure.
- 57:22Harrison says, has anyone ever made you a gift where you felt kind
- 57:23of awkward receiving it? I'm not sure what to do with it. Well,
- 57:29I feel guilty about admitting this because it was, first of all,
- 57:34it was a really thoughtful gift that I didn't appreciate, and one that in
- 57:38hinds, I was like, that was probably one of the best gifts I've
- 57:42got, and yeah, I just did not really, It's kind of like,
- 57:45yeah, thanks for my twenty first Yeah, I've received some very nice
- 57:51gifts, some clothes and electronics, all that kind of business. And a
- 57:54buddy of mine, who had a very good of eclectic taste in music,
- 58:02had bought like a this is way back in the day you could buy boxes
- 58:07of audio tapes like six packs or twelve packs or what. He brought a
- 58:12twelve pack and he'd made me a shit ton of mixtapes of all this interesting
- 58:15music. And look, some of it wasn't to my taste, but the
- 58:20but all of it was kind of interesting, and all of it was fairly
- 58:22alternative artists. And that's serious effort as well, that is effort. No
- 58:25one was kind of like great. I mean I didn't, of course say
- 58:30that to him. I was like, mate, this fantastic, thank you
- 58:31so much. But at the same time, I think I sort of put
- 58:36it off to one side and I never really paid a whole lot attention to
- 58:37it. I don't know how much of I listened to, And in hindsight,
- 58:40I'm like it was a really thoughtful gift, and you know one that
- 58:45you know, a twenty one year old guy who aspired to sort of have
- 58:51his broad horizons broadened when it came to art and culture and all that kind
- 58:53I should have appreciated a lot more, and I didn't. So to my
- 58:58man Tony Smith, I don't know if you're listening. If you are,
- 59:01maybe consider being a patron. I didn't appreciate your gift as much as as
- 59:08much as I should have back in the day. Thank you very very much
- 59:12for it. I do. I appreciate it in hindsight, which of course
- 59:15it was all know is the best kind of appreciation. Next question is from
- 59:17Andrew JP. What's your favorite parent child combination storylines with storylines into Simpsons is
- 59:22a Homer Lisa, Marge Bart Homer Bart or Marge and Lisa or anything involving
- 59:29Maggie. I think the older I got it was Homer and Lisa. I
- 59:34think when I was a kid it was Marge. But I don't think I
- 59:37really appreciated the Homer Lisa moments until I was became a father myself, like
- 59:42things like Lisa's wedding, the end of Lisa's wedding words like she she was
- 59:45embarrassed by him, and then she has the you know, seeing into the
- 59:47future and seeing how upset she made her father and things like that. She
- 59:52sort of appreciates her father for who he is at the end, and you
- 59:54know, I wrote the teacups and good a little sick, and then I
- 59:57wrote him again and they're holding they're walking off hand in hand. I'm that's
- 1:00:00just so nice. And then the end of um of Maggie makes three where
- 1:00:06we get to do it for her. I watched her about a month ago
- 1:00:09and I nearly started crying again, Like that is just fucking like that is
- 1:00:13arguably the greatest moment in history the Simpsons that do for her, where it's
- 1:00:15like there's no there's no fun. It's a Maggie. I've got them where
- 1:00:17I need them the most, I need the most, cheering up and just
- 1:00:21cutting that music cue by Alph and it's like, oh god, yeah that
- 1:00:24works, that really does does Yeah. I think the home I think the
- 1:00:28Homer slash Kids storylines work for me more as I became a father. Well
- 1:00:32look, speaking as an absolute mama's boy who is constantly you know, concerned
- 1:00:37that he's disappointing his dear mother. Shout out to Margaret Mary. I'm a
- 1:00:40big fan of margin bart storylines. They speak to me. They do this
- 1:00:46one. Here's from Jet Gerdam. They say, have you ever thrown up
- 1:00:51in a costume? I've never thrown up in a costume, but I have
- 1:00:53seen someone. This is not a costume room. It's just seeing someone throw
- 1:00:58up in a weird place. On the dance floor at Eureka, remember the
- 1:01:00old Eureka night club. You're in Gelong with the Davis where you would have
- 1:01:04been rocking the dance floors the time the time, and a friend of mine
- 1:01:07I won't named names, but we're just like dancing away and he had an
- 1:01:09empty pint glass in his hand. It was like a banger song and he
- 1:01:13was wasting and then he had to be sick. So rather than go throw
- 1:01:15up in the toys, he just vomited into the into the pine, put
- 1:01:20it on the floor and then people obviously dancing, ticked it and just vomit
- 1:01:23everywhere. Everyone's feet is covering and vomit. No, oh, dear I
- 1:01:31Likewise, I never threw up in a costume, but I remember one night
- 1:01:36at the Geelong Hotel where I had my first ever. I used my first
- 1:01:40ever fake license to get into the Geelong Hotel. Yeah, what a hero.
- 1:01:45One night we decided to be we'd go after a little bit, and
- 1:01:50we had shots of tequila and I think I'd already had a bit by this
- 1:01:55dage, so I took the shot. I was like, that's coming back
- 1:01:58up right now. Luckily I was near like a dark corner, so I
- 1:02:02could just sort of turn around and went and it just came right back.
- 1:02:07Jesus, Just we don't think of the cleaners. You have to find this,
- 1:02:10find this stuff the next morning, clean it up, like, oh
- 1:02:14my god, can you can you imagine that, like going to like Eureka
- 1:02:16and geng hotel things after a Saturday night or Saturday morning. Just seen the
- 1:02:20aftermath thinking about it in retrospect now, because when I went out, you
- 1:02:27know, it was the smoking. Here is where you're smoked in some gross
- 1:02:30Yeah. I mean I can only imagine what I must have smelt like when
- 1:02:34I came home after a night of drinking beer and smoking cigarettes in a closed,
- 1:02:40sweaty environment. Yeah, the sweat. Nah. It's wondered that any
- 1:02:45of us picked up you know, romantic slash stectual partner at one of these
- 1:02:52plays. It's it's not conducive to anything like that, because you just reek
- 1:02:58of all this stuff finds me of um. My Mum used to always be
- 1:03:01my savior when I was going out. She's still living at home. She
- 1:03:04used to pick me up, you know, always a pizza ready for me
- 1:03:06when I got home. I remember, remember this one time Mum picked me
- 1:03:09up. I got the car and all of a sudden the window to start
- 1:03:13going down, like Mum had been pushing it down. I was like,
- 1:03:15moments call, she goes you stink. I'm like, okay, fair dus
- 1:03:21all right. My final question here we got from Adam Woolhouse of the Springfield.
- 1:03:25Of the Springfield is running in the in the election, whom would you
- 1:03:28have voted for and why hashtag vote Jimbo? I think, well, we
- 1:03:31saw three real sort of spears, didn't me. We saw Luigi, we
- 1:03:36saw let's not forget crazy cat lady name. You're not Gonnavoe for her.
- 1:03:39You're not gonna vote for Homer well Wolfcastle, Yeah, Wolfcastle, Jimbo and
- 1:03:45yeah yeah yeah, so you're probably just gonna vote for him, right because
- 1:03:46you're scared of him pretty much. You know, he'd he'd rule with an
- 1:03:50iron fist. Yes, I think of the three, but I think I
- 1:03:54was thinking of the food. Luigi, you could, but the lad you're
- 1:03:57gonna put the food out regardless. Let's go, let's go for wolf Castle.
- 1:04:00Yeah. I don't like trust Brockman. No, I don't trust Brockman
- 1:04:03at all. He'd be my media advisor. I like Freddy Quimby as long
- 1:04:06as what works. As long as what works with him works for you,
- 1:04:09then he'd be fine. But he's only going to do what works for him.
- 1:04:11So yeah, that's correct. Now would I would? I, for
- 1:04:15one welcome our Rainy a Wolfcastle overlord. M all right, so that is
