Transcript
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hi everyone, Welcome back to Vanity Farah. My name is
- 0:17Speaker 1: Chris Farah, and I bring a very special guest for
- 0:20Speaker 1: this part two of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
- 0:23Speaker 1: Slash Bacherette, Slashed Hilary, Freaky Paul drama situation. And he
- 0:28Speaker 1: is not only my good friend and incredibly gifted in
- 0:35Speaker 1: artistic taste. He has such a brilliant musical artist. You know,
- 0:44Speaker 1: he is incredibly you know, adept at knowing the best
- 0:51Speaker 1: restaurants in LA, about loving the best music, about seeing
- 0:57Speaker 1: the most important theater. It is like such a gift
- 1:00Speaker 1: every time I get to talk to you about the
- 1:01Speaker 1: things I love too. I love food, I love music,
- 1:03Speaker 1: I love theater, I love reality shows. And so you
- 1:07Speaker 1: have like a very top toier opinion on all of that.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Garrett I try.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It is such a pleasure to have you on for
- 1:15Speaker 1: so many reasons. A because yes, you are knowledgeable about
- 1:18Speaker 1: Hollywood stuff, for sure, you like know all that executive stuff.
- 1:20Speaker 1: But at the same time, I mean, we can really
- 1:22Speaker 1: keiky about things we love, which is of course sucret
- 1:25Speaker 1: lized and Mormon wise. But we've gone to see Lenis
- 1:28Speaker 1: Morris together, We've gone to well, this is the other thing.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I frequently yell at you in your DMS because you'll
- 1:37Speaker 1: go see a play and I'll be like, how was it?
- 1:40Speaker 1: You know, it's like a lot of that happens. You
- 1:43Speaker 1: have like an incredible you know, inside on storytelling in
- 1:47Speaker 1: that way, and so I guess, yeah, I guess yeah.
- 1:48Speaker 1: It makes sense that you love reality shows too. It's
- 1:50Speaker 1: so funny. Do you feel that way? How do you
- 1:52Speaker 1: feel about plays of reality shows? I mean for comparison
- 1:55Speaker 1: of them.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I for the longest time didn't watch any reality TV
- 2:00Speaker 2: that wasn't like competition like I'm a survivor person that
- 2:03Speaker 2: was I think sort of like my first I was
- 2:05Speaker 2: never an American idol, not really the voice, a little a
- 2:09Speaker 2: little amazing race, but like Love Top Chef of course,
- 2:14Speaker 2: And so I didn't watch any like non competition reality
- 2:18Speaker 2: until Salt Lake City premiered. That was my first, Like
- 2:24Speaker 2: I had never end listen. I I get I'm going
- 2:26Speaker 2: to probably disappoint you and others by saying that, sorry,
- 2:30Speaker 2: my dog is making noises that I have only I'm
- 2:38Speaker 2: a completist, So I want to see things from the beginning,
- 2:41Speaker 2: which means that like if there's something that has like
- 2:43Speaker 2: a ton of seasons like Beverly Hills. I haven't done it.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I haven't watched it. So my so I've I've on
- 2:51Speaker 2: in the housewives front. I'm salt Lake City. But then
- 2:55Speaker 2: I did go back and watch like the first however
- 2:56Speaker 2: many seasons of Potomac. And then when New York did
- 3:02Speaker 2: to reboot, I started, I've never seen Old New York,
- 3:04Speaker 2: but I've seen New New York.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Old Guy is already gone. They tried to make a
- 3:09Speaker 1: new film, and they tried to make a new series
- 3:11Speaker 1: and it got dusted.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Well yeah, but I the I've seen the New New
- 3:18Speaker 2: York but not I didn't go back to the beginning
- 3:20Speaker 2: for that. And then of course, when Secret Lives of
- 3:23Speaker 2: Mormon Wives dropped, I was like, well, I have to
- 3:25Speaker 2: have to watch this, and so I was like like,
- 3:30Speaker 2: are you a Mormon? Yeah, like I you know, listen,
- 3:33Speaker 2: I know I watched every episode of Big Love like
- 3:36Speaker 2: when that was on, so I know I had Mormon
- 3:39Speaker 2: friends in high school. I saw Under the Banner of Heaven,
- 3:44Speaker 2: like I know stuff about that. But I mean, obviously,
- 3:48Speaker 2: like Salt Lake's not very Mormon centric, despite Whitney and Heathers.
- 3:52Speaker 2: They don't they don't really go in deep and like
- 3:55Speaker 2: I feel like the sort of culture of secret lives
- 3:59Speaker 2: of Mormon wives, that's where it's really interesting. Like season one,
- 4:02Speaker 2: I was like, this is fluff, and then I was like, actually,
- 4:04Speaker 2: this is a really interesting sort of like sociological study
- 4:07Speaker 2: where you have this deeply patriarchal like kind of community
- 4:12Speaker 2: and here are these women who just by their very
- 4:15Speaker 2: existence in the thing that they are doing, kind of
- 4:18Speaker 2: flip that on its head a little bit. And like
- 4:22Speaker 2: when they had that whole Vegas drama with the Chippendales,
- 4:25Speaker 2: like that you had Jesse and Demi being like no,
- 4:28Speaker 2: like he can't treat you that way, like you're the breadwinner.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I was like, this is interesting. It wasn't what I
- 4:35Speaker 2: expected there. Obviously we've come We've come so far in
- 4:39Speaker 2: those early days.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Goss, He's in one scenes like forty years ago.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Well. Also, it's a weird. It's weird because like you know,
- 4:46Speaker 2: like Housewives, they go down, like they shoot, they stop filming,
- 4:51Speaker 2: those women don't hang out or see each other, and
- 4:53Speaker 2: then they get back together for the reunion where they
- 4:56Speaker 2: watched what everyone said about them behind their back. But
- 4:58Speaker 2: like if the camera went down, these girls would all
- 5:01Speaker 2: still be hanging out, so they can never go down,
- 5:05Speaker 2: which is why, like I I'm annoyed by the cadence
- 5:07Speaker 2: of the reunions, the fact that like stuff has happened,
- 5:11Speaker 2: but they can't talk about that stuff at the reunion,
- 5:13Speaker 2: and so we're getting their opinions on the things that happened,
- 5:18Speaker 2: but are still colored by whatever's going on now. And
- 5:23Speaker 2: I wish they could fix that, but I know they
- 5:25Speaker 2: can't because like that train can never stop or I mean,
- 5:30Speaker 2: can mom talk survive this?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Oh? I know, I know that. It's like it's funny
- 5:35Speaker 1: because you say that it's so funny. It's kind of
- 5:36Speaker 1: like in sixth in the City when Carrie's about to
- 5:39Speaker 1: write you know something, and it feels like one of
- 5:42Speaker 1: the phrases that like one phrase, yeah, I couldn't up
- 5:47Speaker 1: a wonder. Can mom talk survive this? It's very interesting
- 5:53Speaker 1: because money makes the rules. And if these women in
- 6:00Speaker 1: mom Talk had just had like some MLM job where
- 6:04Speaker 1: they all because you know, first of all Mormons, historically
- 6:09Speaker 1: women and wise not everyone, they love an MLM. They
- 6:12Speaker 1: love like a multi level marketing situation where it's like
- 6:14Speaker 1: social it's a.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Little the structure of the church is a little mlmy.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, of course, but it's interesting like mom
- 6:22Speaker 1: Talk is a social business, like they are socially using themselves.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And the thing that you brought up is that the
- 6:31Speaker 1: Real Housewives only later on would have businesses that they
- 6:34Speaker 1: would want to like promote on the show. But Mom
- 6:36Speaker 1: Talk is a corporation and they consider themselves employees, and so, yeah,
- 6:41Speaker 1: they are working together. The show is just a byproduct
- 6:45Speaker 1: of the corporation they've already built.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Well, and if Taylor hadn't if Taylor hadn't done a
- 6:51Speaker 2: live about the soft Swinging, we wouldn't have a television
- 6:55Speaker 2: show and their reach and Whitney would not be breaking
- 6:59Speaker 2: box office records on Broadway. You know. The domino effect
- 7:04Speaker 2: of that, I think is really interesting. But it's it
- 7:07Speaker 2: this season, and I know we're going to talk about it,
- 7:09Speaker 2: but like the the commerce of it, I feel like
- 7:13Speaker 2: is front and center in a lot of what happened socially.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Totally but also looking back well made it so weird
- 7:25Speaker 1: and engulfing with the drama that unfolded this week with
- 7:29Speaker 1: the domestic violence video and all that stuff, and then
- 7:32Speaker 1: of course the subsequent cancelation of boucharette was that season
- 7:35Speaker 1: four felt like it perfectly set up everything that happened
- 7:41Speaker 1: this week, but we are now to believe that that's bad.
- 7:45Speaker 1: That's not what you wanted, you know, Like.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I like this the final moment of the season, like
- 7:55Speaker 2: how could you have filmed this? Known what happened? And
- 8:00Speaker 2: then was like, you know what, let's keep making the Bachelorette. Yes,
- 8:04Speaker 2: because she there are people I know for a fact,
- 8:11Speaker 2: there are people across both shows. It's not m yeah, yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 2: like someone's going to lose their job over this. I
- 8:19Speaker 2: feel like the millions of dollars that they're out, like.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I'm about to lose their job.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I know, you know, it's it's it's crazy.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So it's there's so many things to talk about. It
- 8:32Speaker 1: is crazy and it is. It felt like the entire
- 8:34Speaker 1: season four was like, yeah, this is what you guys
- 8:36Speaker 1: are saying is going to happen. You guys literally keep
- 8:38Speaker 1: saying that she shouldn't be here and this is not
- 8:40Speaker 1: good for her. And also I kind of was obsessed
- 8:42Speaker 1: with the idea that everyone was like, you know what,
- 8:46Speaker 1: let's just use the baucherrette as a little distraction for
- 8:49Speaker 1: Taylor as opposed to like the idea that Bauchorette is
- 8:51Speaker 1: a whole it's once in a lifetime experience full of
- 8:55Speaker 1: other people's wants and dreams. Like the fact that everyone
- 8:59Speaker 1: was like treated it as like a one night stand
- 9:02Speaker 1: for this person, or like a trip to Bali or
- 9:05Speaker 1: something was so weird, like it was not. It made
- 9:08Speaker 1: it seem like no one was taking this seriously.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Well, the whole brand being of the Bachelor. And listen,
- 9:15Speaker 2: I've never seen an episode of the Bachelor of the Bachelortte.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Good to know.
- 9:17Speaker 2: This was the first season I was gonna watch, and
- 9:21Speaker 2: I think, like I remember when they announced Taylor, I
- 9:24Speaker 2: was like, she shouldn't do that, and then I was like,
- 9:26Speaker 2: you know what, I get it. Like from a marketing perspective,
- 9:29Speaker 2: it's brilliant. They have pulled in a new audience in
- 9:33Speaker 2: people like me or people I know who fell off
- 9:36Speaker 2: who watch Mormon wives, who were going to come back
- 9:37Speaker 2: to it. But that first initial instinct of like, oh no,
- 9:41Speaker 2: this is a bad idea is correct, Like the whole
- 9:45Speaker 2: thing is is it's selling a fairy.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Tale, Disney fairy tale.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and she is not a Disney princess. And I
- 9:53Speaker 2: don't say that in a way that has Like, I
- 9:56Speaker 2: have a lot of sympathy and empathy for her situation.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Obviously she has you know, made her bed to a
- 10:02Speaker 2: large extent, I believe, but I still feel bad for her.
- 10:06Speaker 2: But like this was not something she like, even setting
- 10:11Speaker 2: aside all of the Dakota stuff, I was just like,
- 10:14Speaker 2: she's not going to look good like on this show.
- 10:17Speaker 2: The way that this show works and who she is
- 10:19Speaker 2: and how she moves through the world and relates to people,
- 10:22Speaker 2: just because we'd seen at that point three seasons of it.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I was just like, this is going to be messy
- 10:27Speaker 2: in a way that like I will enjoy watching. But
- 10:30Speaker 2: I don't think is what the Bachelor or the Bachelorette, Like,
- 10:34Speaker 2: I don't think that's like the keystone shows of that franchise,
- 10:38Speaker 2: because from what I understand, like Bachelor in Paradise and
- 10:40Speaker 2: all that stuff is pretty messy, but like this is
- 10:43Speaker 2: not messy in the same way. No, Like she's supposed
- 10:46Speaker 2: to find her prince charming.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It's supposed to be like Primetime Disney, you know, like
- 10:51Speaker 1: this is supposed to be I think Disney's Bread and
- 10:54Speaker 1: Butter of like family Viewing.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, Well, like I just listen. I again, never
- 11:02Speaker 2: having seen Bachelor Bachelorette, but watching Unreal and knowing that
- 11:07Speaker 2: like sort of the way that like the friends that
- 11:10Speaker 2: have talked about Bachelor Bachelorette, especially Bachelorette, I think, because
- 11:13Speaker 2: because there's a woman at the center, obviously the rules
- 11:15Speaker 2: are different and judgy in a way that is really
- 11:17Speaker 2: not fair. But like the whole like fantasy suite thing,
- 11:20Speaker 2: I was like, Oh, Taylor doing fantasy suite like and
- 11:26Speaker 2: they even said it on this season, like she's probably
- 11:28Speaker 2: going to sleep with at least two of them, yeah,
- 11:30Speaker 2: you know, and and she's not the kind of person
- 11:35Speaker 2: who's going to be like Ti behind closed doors. That's
- 11:38Speaker 2: just a very different vibe than what I have come
- 11:42Speaker 2: to think of Bachelor Bachelorette just from a distance.
- 11:46Speaker 1: You're not wrong, But also it felt like Taylor season
- 11:49Speaker 1: one through three of Secret Lives on Mormon wise was
- 11:51Speaker 1: kept to be a different tailor than season four. Like
- 11:55Speaker 1: the girls even like Mikayla and Macy talk and a
- 11:58Speaker 1: clip about how they were surprised with Taylor's edit for
- 12:01Speaker 1: season three because they made Taylor look very composed and whatnot,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and they're like, that's not the tailor we usually see. Haha,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I don't be mean about it, but you know, she's
- 12:08Speaker 1: also gonna be a different kind of tailor. And when
- 12:11Speaker 1: season four started, we can talk about it. Taylor's We'll
- 12:15Speaker 1: just say, Taylor in every episode is not She's not showered,
- 12:20Speaker 1: her hair is not brushed, she's wearing little she's wearing
- 12:26Speaker 1: what looks like she's wearing oversized shirts and baggy sweatpants
- 12:30Speaker 1: that have like no rhyme or reason to each other.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And I'm saying this, like, sure, we all have days
- 12:36Speaker 1: like this, but this is this person's reality show, and
- 12:39Speaker 1: she has a lot of money and she's an influencer
- 12:42Speaker 1: where she and she's it was indicative of someone who
- 12:45Speaker 1: is not well mentally, I think.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I mean we'd seen granted, you know, it's like the
- 12:52Speaker 2: first episode we meet her, she's she's we have the
- 12:56Speaker 2: season one, Yeah, we have the body cam footage, but
- 12:59Speaker 2: you know, so we see that side of her, but
- 13:01Speaker 2: like she's got some anger stuff like the fuses very short,
- 13:06Speaker 2: the way in which and it was interesting the way
- 13:09Speaker 2: that the girls handled her with her sort of like
- 13:11Speaker 2: final blow up about what they knew about Shanaia or not.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Walking on age shells, like not one well, yeah, being
- 13:20Speaker 1: well traumatizing knowing how they how she I mean to
- 13:26Speaker 1: an extent for sure, but I think I think it's
- 13:29Speaker 1: mostly just kind of like she can blow up and
- 13:31Speaker 1: she can sort of go crazy.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And it's interesting that production on this knowing she was
- 13:39Speaker 2: going to go on that, Like, I just think they
- 13:41Speaker 2: really missed the mark because they should. What the girls
- 13:43Speaker 2: were doing trying to get her ready, aka make sure
- 13:47Speaker 2: she doesn't like embarrass herself and lose the bag for them,
- 13:51Speaker 2: like production also should have been doing. But I think
- 13:54Speaker 2: on some level there was a calculus that was made
- 13:56Speaker 2: that was like Nope, like we're just gonna like, why
- 14:00Speaker 2: her up and let her spin and because that'll be
- 14:03Speaker 2: that'll make for good TV. And they're not wrong about that,
- 14:06Speaker 2: but it's not going to make for good bachelorette.
- 14:11Speaker 1: What kind of media training that you think that she's
- 14:12Speaker 1: had in between secret leves of Mormon wives and being
- 14:16Speaker 1: chosen for the Bachelor or or any or was she
- 14:19Speaker 1: asked to do so but she refused. She does have
- 14:23Speaker 1: money and she does have millions of followers, and that
- 14:25Speaker 1: is the difference, right, Like the difference is she, oh,
- 14:29Speaker 1: she wants this, but she comes with power.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Well, I mean, but but look at it this way.
- 14:36Speaker 2: We've seen first second firsthand, I guess just as viewers like,
- 14:41Speaker 2: we've seen her response to hey, do it this way,
- 14:44Speaker 2: don't do it that way. It's in one ear and
- 14:46Speaker 2: out the other. She's going to do whatever she feels
- 14:49Speaker 2: like in the moment, like that is driving it. She's not.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I can't. If she's not going to listen to her parents,
- 14:55Speaker 2: if she's not going to listen to her friends, if
- 14:57Speaker 2: she's not going to listen to herself when it comes
- 15:01Speaker 2: to Dakota, how in the world can we expect that
- 15:05Speaker 2: she will listen to some publicist for a giant corporation,
- 15:09Speaker 2: you know, Like, what is her end goal?
- 15:12Speaker 1: Like if Whitney's end goal is to be the biggest star,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and I think that's what she told disneyl there's some
- 15:17Speaker 1: do you hear the story that Whitney told some Disney
- 15:20Speaker 1: exec that she wanted to change the world, Like and
- 15:23Speaker 1: I believe that there's such a performative, you know, Whitney
- 15:26Speaker 1: wants to be a movie star or a star or whatever,
- 15:29Speaker 1: like in that Hollywood way, What the fuck does Taylor want?
- 15:32Speaker 1: I don't.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I don't think Taylor knows, and I think that's part
- 15:36Speaker 2: of the problem. That's why it's like she she It's
- 15:40Speaker 2: funny because I think she probably went into the bachelorette
- 15:43Speaker 2: being like, I want the opposite of Dakota, and then
- 15:48Speaker 2: she wound up with a man who just looks like
- 15:49Speaker 2: what if Dakota wasn't a fence and a addict, you know,
- 15:53Speaker 2: like and people and people are calling him Doug because
- 15:56Speaker 2: his name is Doug, people calling him Doug Coda.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah, they absolutely are. He looks to see you. He
- 16:01Speaker 1: looks just like the Coda, but also kind of like
- 16:03Speaker 1: Hugh Jackman a little bit like you see that in
- 16:05Speaker 1: a smile, right, Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I can see that. He also sort of is giving,
- 16:08Speaker 2: like Mormon missionary.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Oh yeah, hello, yeah, yeah, very much. Yes, it's we're
- 16:19Speaker 1: gonna go back and forth.
- 16:20Speaker 2: But yeah, Taylor, it's so hard to talk about. What's Taylor?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yes, just reference the goud News says, if you're listening
- 16:28Speaker 1: to this, then you hopefully will know everything we're talking about,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and you obviously can tell that we fucking know what
- 16:33Speaker 1: we're talking about. So in season four, Taylor says a lot,
- 16:36Speaker 1: I just want to be heard. I just want to
- 16:37Speaker 1: be heard and then she then throws it on her mom.
- 16:40Speaker 1: She's then she kind of projects herself on her mom
- 16:42Speaker 1: and is like, I just want you to be heard.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And so I bring that up because Taylor's rise to
- 16:48Speaker 1: fame and I think the thing that she loves the
- 16:50Speaker 1: most is literally how easy it is to just go
- 16:54Speaker 1: like this. She already looks hot, she has like a
- 16:56Speaker 1: tiny girl and she can kind of like whatever she
- 16:58Speaker 1: wants to work or whatever, and then give some like
- 17:02Speaker 1: people think that they know you, but they fucking don't
- 17:04Speaker 1: know you until they see you pop off and then
- 17:06Speaker 1: have a bunch of people be like, yeah, Taylor, go Taylor, Taylor,
- 17:10Speaker 1: you show them tailor You're my girl. Taylor always knows
- 17:12Speaker 1: some stuff. Nothing is more authentic and sincere than a
- 17:15Speaker 1: tailor TikTok. And then she has to just say goodbye
- 17:19Speaker 1: and then just go on our way. She doesn't even
- 17:21Speaker 1: have to fucking edit like that. I think this being
- 17:24Speaker 1: a TikTok star is Taylor's I think best highest dream
- 17:29Speaker 1: and anything else where she's given responsibility is not it.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And I don't think she should have ever been a mother.
- 17:35Speaker 1: But I don't blame her as much as I blame
- 17:37Speaker 1: the patriarchal society that we live in, the intense you know,
- 17:41Speaker 1: religious yeah, you know, like and pressure on getting married
- 17:46Speaker 1: right away. She's not the only one, but to me
- 17:49Speaker 1: and I come from.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Her lack of her lack of desire for any sort
- 17:54Speaker 2: of birth control.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, let's just be very fucking honest. The
- 18:00Speaker 1: fact that we just watched a video of her screaming
- 18:03Speaker 1: and throwing things at a man that is not her
- 18:05Speaker 1: child's father, not that it would be a difference anyway,
- 18:08Speaker 1: that that child starts to scream, that child gets hit,
- 18:11Speaker 1: and she does not care, She really doesn't.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I and see, I don't think that's necessarily fair. I
- 18:19Speaker 2: will say two things about that. One is we didn't
- 18:23Speaker 2: see her reaction at the end, because that's when you
- 18:27Speaker 2: hear the kid crying. Secondly, and and and I think
- 18:30Speaker 2: you even sent me there's that clip of her on
- 18:32Speaker 2: like Nick Viles's podcast where she's very tearfully recounting she
- 18:37Speaker 2: didn't know. I think that she is the kind of
- 18:40Speaker 2: person that's so disregulated that when she gets up into
- 18:44Speaker 2: that crazy you know, like like you know, I think
- 18:48Speaker 2: it was like an angry chihuahua like space, like she
- 18:52Speaker 2: can't she's blind, Like, I don't think that we're not
- 18:56Speaker 2: dealing with someone who is handling their emotions or this
- 19:00Speaker 2: situations that they are in in a rational sense. Versus
- 19:04Speaker 2: saying that she doesn't care. I don't think that's true,
- 19:06Speaker 2: because I think she comes down, she really cares. I
- 19:09Speaker 2: think she's she's very beaten up by it. But in
- 19:12Speaker 2: that moment, I don't think she's capable of seeing it.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I don't think it's registering she. I mean, otherwise she'd
- 19:18Speaker 2: know her daughter was there. You know, the daughter's.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Screaming the entire time, and she she I mean, then
- 19:24Speaker 1: I guess, okay, I mean, yeah, the daughter of screaming
- 19:27Speaker 1: the entire Dakota's like, your daughter's here, you're screaming. You
- 19:29Speaker 1: just hit her. She's like, it's your fault. The other
- 19:32Speaker 1: thing about why say she doesn't care is because this
- 19:34Speaker 1: happened in twenty twenty three. And when we get the
- 19:36Speaker 1: statement right, the statement that she gives out, and this
- 19:39Speaker 1: again is not by ABC. This is her statement from yesterday.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I mean, if I read it to you, just it's
- 19:45Speaker 1: Taylor is very grateful for ABC supporter. She prior to
- 19:48Speaker 1: she prioritizes her family's safety and security. After years of
- 19:51Speaker 1: silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as
- 19:53Speaker 1: the threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally getting the strength
- 19:56Speaker 1: to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that
- 19:58Speaker 1: she and her children are protected from any further harm
- 20:01Speaker 1: and then whatever she goes on. Here's the thing, her
- 20:08Speaker 1: children are the victim. We watched her, We watched her
- 20:14Speaker 1: choices over the past three years victimize her kids, and
- 20:17Speaker 1: who knows what happened aforehand. So for this person who
- 20:21Speaker 1: got arrested and got criminal charges and had to like
- 20:23Speaker 1: plead guilty, for her three years later to have a
- 20:25Speaker 1: statement and never once take any accountability for her for
- 20:29Speaker 1: her role and what she did to her children, makes
- 20:32Speaker 1: me feel like she doesn't fucking care about them. But Garrett,
- 20:35Speaker 1: I'll say one other thing. I'm heavily triggered because of
- 20:37Speaker 1: my own past, my own mom.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Hmm. I think I think that she, like I see
- 20:43Speaker 2: someone who's completely out of control, and don't I don't
- 20:46Speaker 2: say that in a way that excuses it at all.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Let me be clear, Like I think I think she's toast.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I think I don't see her. She is so toxic
- 20:58Speaker 2: to brands and because she toxic to brands. She is
- 21:01Speaker 2: toxic to the rest of mom Talk. So if if
- 21:04Speaker 2: mom talk can survive this, it is without her, Which
- 21:07Speaker 2: is why I think that, Like when this happened, Whitney
- 21:10Speaker 2: in some dressing room in New York, without even looking
- 21:12Speaker 2: at her phone like felt the disturbance in the force
- 21:15Speaker 2: and was like a power vacuum I can fill. And like,
- 21:19Speaker 2: you know, there will be a new queen of mom Talk,
- 21:21Speaker 2: whoever that's gonna be. I personally hope for Whitney because
- 21:25Speaker 2: I'm a Whitney apologist. I love Whitney.
- 21:28Speaker 1: So they're going to come back. I bet you anything.
- 21:30Speaker 1: This person here's that will never go back to Utah,
- 21:33Speaker 1: never has to associate with any of these people. Why
- 21:35Speaker 1: would she be?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Okay, Whitney and Connor cannot live in New York, they
- 21:42Speaker 2: cannot live in LA for like a permanent amount of time.
- 21:48Speaker 2: You know, I don't think that's sustainable. And let's be honest,
- 21:51Speaker 2: Like she wants to be the biggest star in the world.
- 21:53Speaker 2: She says that, but really, let's she wants to like
- 21:56Speaker 2: co star with Candice Cameron beret On like a great
- 21:58Speaker 2: American What for that?
- 22:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 22:00Speaker 2: Jesus Network that Candice.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That's what movies on.
- 22:04Speaker 2: It's gonna be like a hallmarky kind of thing.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but and she the fact that okay, let's talk
- 22:08Speaker 1: about that she how did she get to executive produce
- 22:11Speaker 1: because she would.
- 22:12Speaker 2: She not real that's executive producer like like okay, like
- 22:17Speaker 2: for a writer on a movie, they might be given
- 22:20Speaker 2: an executive producer title that actually confers a lot less
- 22:23Speaker 2: like power than like produced by or something like that.
- 22:30Speaker 2: It's just it's like in name only. It's like if
- 22:33Speaker 2: someone on like Grey's Anatomy, like Ellen Pompeo, I'm sure
- 22:37Speaker 2: she actually does have power on Grey's Anatomy or she
- 22:40Speaker 2: did or no, she's still there right, yeah, anyway, But
- 22:45Speaker 2: a lot of times it's like, well, we we we
- 22:47Speaker 2: pay you so much money as an actor. We can't
- 22:50Speaker 2: just keep upping that. So we're going to give you
- 22:53Speaker 2: an executive producer credit and we'll pay you out of
- 22:55Speaker 2: in that bucket and keep this just like moving up slightly.
- 22:59Speaker 2: But you want to huge rais, so we're going to
- 23:01Speaker 2: give you a title and money that comes along with that.
- 23:04Speaker 2: But that doesn't mean that she's in control of anything.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I cannot imagine that Whitney Levitt has any sort of
- 23:09Speaker 2: real pull in that which is you know, no shade.
- 23:13Speaker 2: She's just so new, like she hasn't earned that truly
- 23:19Speaker 2: good for her. She's establishing a precedent to build a
- 23:22Speaker 2: resume so that one day maybe she could be But
- 23:24Speaker 2: I just unless she is a better actress than I
- 23:28Speaker 2: expect her to be. And listen, I imagine she is
- 23:30Speaker 2: great as roxy Heart because perfect they're the same person, like,
- 23:36Speaker 2: you know, minus the murder. But like you know, I
- 23:40Speaker 2: just I don't know. I can't see. This is a
- 23:45Speaker 2: woman who two years ago was like, I want to
- 23:46Speaker 2: go be a homesteader. Like while she likes the attention
- 23:51Speaker 2: and she and she likes the ability to do these things,
- 23:54Speaker 2: I really think, and especially in a world as decentralized
- 23:58Speaker 2: as we are now, she does have to be here
- 24:01Speaker 2: in order for her dreams to come true physically, Like
- 24:04Speaker 2: she can fly in every now and again. You know,
- 24:06Speaker 2: she might not have been able to make it back
- 24:08Speaker 2: for Macy's book tour event, which I think the ladies
- 24:14Speaker 2: were unfair about.
- 24:15Speaker 1: It completely, but she's filming and dancing. She's not just
- 24:20Speaker 1: first of all, to fly one hour and then have
- 24:21Speaker 1: to fly home is like crazy in itself, but it's
- 24:24Speaker 1: also like she has to do a whole show.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm sure that some of those ladies are
- 24:31Speaker 2: watching the scene with her and Connor at the petting
- 24:33Speaker 2: zoo or wherever they were where she's crying about how
- 24:36Speaker 2: thin she's spread, and they're going, oh, she's faking it.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I love Whitney. I don't think she's that good an
- 24:41Speaker 2: actress yet.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I think she was performative in her conversation with Jen
- 24:47Speaker 1: a little bit like I think that she was a
- 24:49Speaker 1: little too like like a little child actory in that
- 24:53Speaker 1: last scene. I love Whitney though, and I want the
- 24:55Speaker 1: back like she is. You know, she is a great dancer,
- 24:58Speaker 1: she's always been and I mean she really fucking glowed up.
- 25:03Speaker 1: She just like she took it. She left the show
- 25:07Speaker 1: and then came back did gece with the stars and
- 25:09Speaker 1: she's a great dancer and then she killed it.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I mean, and she's charismatic. She has she has something
- 25:15Speaker 2: for sure. Listen, they're all mostly charismatic. But yeah, who's
- 25:23Speaker 2: rank rank them well in terms of what like who
- 25:26Speaker 2: I like the best? Yeah?
- 25:27Speaker 1: Who you like the best? And then you know, I think,
- 25:29Speaker 1: because I know you're probably gonna like ones that are interesting,
- 25:32Speaker 1: and you know, I don't. Yeah, that's what I'm as saying.
- 25:35Speaker 2: My favorite is Whitney, obviously, I think below that, not
- 25:40Speaker 2: in necessarily any order is. I like Miranda. I think
- 25:46Speaker 2: she's really interesting and she's funny, she's you know, she's
- 25:51Speaker 2: not as dramatic, so she doesn't get as much screen time.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I really actually like Mikayla.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I know, the two ones.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I feel bad for her, and I kind of hope
- 26:03Speaker 2: she does divorce Chase or Chase because he, you know,
- 26:08Speaker 2: last season three when he's just like I just wanted
- 26:10Speaker 2: to be back like it was when we started. I'm like,
- 26:12Speaker 2: you mean when you were twenty five and she was
- 26:13Speaker 2: a fifteen abuse fifteen year old abuse victim, Like that's
- 26:18Speaker 2: what you are wishing to have back? Like that's very
- 26:21Speaker 2: messed up. I like, I like he's Yeah. Yeah, I
- 26:27Speaker 2: like Macy. I don't like.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I don't not like. I mean she's fine. I mean
- 26:33Speaker 1: I like her fine.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I liked her better earlier seasons. She sort of does
- 26:39Speaker 2: not have as much to do now, like there's not
- 26:41Speaker 2: really a story to her. I don't love her husband
- 26:44Speaker 2: this year. He was sort of a non entity and
- 26:47Speaker 2: then this year quickly became like someone that I just
- 26:49Speaker 2: really didn't like. I like Jesse. I am glad for
- 26:53Speaker 2: her that she is getting a divorce, though the fact
- 26:57Speaker 2: that he filed for divorce tells me that perhaps that
- 27:01Speaker 2: prenup is uh not as is as not ironclad as
- 27:06Speaker 2: she seemed to be concerned that it wasn't. And I
- 27:11Speaker 2: cannot fucking stand Jen.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I can't okay, so many things. Okay, yes, Jen is
- 27:18Speaker 1: wild to me, I don't I don't understand her at all.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Like I think that she is crazy for being so
- 27:23Speaker 1: mad at Whitney.
- 27:24Speaker 2: It's really didn't do anything.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Oh, it'd be a better dancer than her. Well, but Zach.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Saying like she ruined this experience for you. How when
- 27:33Speaker 2: when when three days earlier, the worst you could levy
- 27:35Speaker 2: at her was she just didn't have time for you.
- 27:38Speaker 2: She felt like it was transactional.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Like she's friends with me, That's what she was mad about.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I mean, listen to me, is Deadwade like sure, like
- 27:49Speaker 2: that is my one complaint about Whitney.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Whin he was using her just have a friend. I
- 27:52Speaker 1: also feel like, Whitney, do you know everyone needs to
- 27:54Speaker 1: have one bff in the circle, and Whitney knew she
- 27:56Speaker 1: didn't have a lot of close ones, so she, I think,
- 27:58Speaker 1: would just hold on any one and that would like
- 28:00Speaker 1: have her back.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Sometimes it would have been better for her not to
- 28:04Speaker 2: have to me be that person, but I get it.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Her options were, her options were few and far between.
- 28:09Speaker 1: If she had Mikaela early on, it would be a
- 28:10Speaker 1: different situation.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I feel like, I do love that we get to
- 28:14Speaker 2: talk about the back half of the season and to
- 28:16Speaker 2: me is basically not there. It's like she she went
- 28:19Speaker 2: into the recording studio to sing Cyndi Laupper and then
- 28:23Speaker 2: faded from from the show. Because I don't. I I
- 28:29Speaker 2: don't remember if she's in the back half of the
- 28:30Speaker 2: season at all. She's not in the last couple episodes
- 28:35Speaker 2: because I don't she's not. She's not at the at
- 28:37Speaker 2: the the shoot for the mean title credit for the
- 28:43Speaker 2: title credits.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Yeah, she's not. You're absolutely right. And they love that
- 28:47Speaker 1: running gag of being like dem Demi's confessional and no
- 28:51Speaker 1: one there crickets. I mean, after a while, I was like,
- 28:52Speaker 1: oh man, I'm at a sketch show, honey, this is
- 28:55Speaker 1: like the runner sketch of my nightmare. Please stop it.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But yeah, like it's interesting to like want to be
- 29:03Speaker 1: on the show so bad and then I, you know,
- 29:06Speaker 1: be then be like I'm a singer, and then bring
- 29:09Speaker 1: your husband who cannot sing.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I loved that sequence though, of her just noting him
- 29:16Speaker 2: to death, like I.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Know, sorry, little pitchy dog. Can you can you?
- 29:22Speaker 2: Maybe maybe it's the fruity pebbles, Maybe they affected the
- 29:26Speaker 2: vocal courts.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Maybe ye. I think that he got a little dry.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And at one point he was like, I need some
- 29:31Speaker 1: mother's milk and she's like, wait one second, let me
- 29:34Speaker 1: finish this waterer. And then she's like, everyone close your eyes,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and then they don't. And then this man was like, yeah,
- 29:46Speaker 1: it really worked. It's like honey, but yeah, he's he's
- 29:50Speaker 1: so weird and she's so look, so did did I
- 29:52Speaker 1: bring up her thing? Did I bring up her? This is?
- 29:58Speaker 1: This is this is no, it is sorry, god, I
- 30:01Speaker 1: can't see it. It's this one. Haha, this is I'll now,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I'll give you both. So this is everyone's clothes. Afterwards,
- 30:06Speaker 1: So after the debacle happens to me said, the bills
- 30:10Speaker 1: are paid, my husband is hot, our marriage is strong,
- 30:12Speaker 1: the kids are happy and healthy. I feel so damn
- 30:14Speaker 1: rich my version of piece that no one could ever destroy,
- 30:17Speaker 1: no matter how hard some have tried. The best revenge
- 30:20Speaker 1: is truly living. Well, I'll die in that hill forever, all.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Right, girl, good for you. I mean no one, no
- 30:29Speaker 2: one asked.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Yeah, no one cares. And also, like this is another thing,
- 30:33Speaker 1: like if you watch this show, if you watch all
- 30:35Speaker 1: of this, the biggest note is we really feel bad
- 30:39Speaker 1: for Taylor's kids. At least that's how I feel. So
- 30:41Speaker 1: any yeah, comment from someone who is going to be weird, superficial,
- 30:49Speaker 1: fucked up, petty, toxic or vain, is like, good show
- 30:53Speaker 1: me her true colors, Like this is.
- 30:55Speaker 2: A very petty see I'm shining through.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Perhaps yeah, listen she loves any lopper, honey, but yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 1: Like it's just wild to me that she isn't aware
- 31:07Speaker 1: of how shitty she is as a person, Like yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 1: but Taylor too, Like this it's a Taylor thing too,
- 31:13Speaker 1: Like how do you not know how shitty this is?
- 31:17Speaker 2: She does, though, because in her moments where she's getting
- 31:21Speaker 2: told how shitty it is, she's like, I know what shitty,
- 31:23Speaker 2: I know what shitty. I'm fucked up. I'm da da
- 31:25Speaker 2: da da da she's not there, that's not her taking
- 31:27Speaker 2: any responsibility. But I think she is aware because she
- 31:30Speaker 2: feels bad and that's not a good thing, whereas like,
- 31:33Speaker 2: to me, I just don't know what her framework of
- 31:37Speaker 2: the world is. And then and then that's you know,
- 31:40Speaker 2: it's like you you going back to Jen, and then Zach,
- 31:44Speaker 2: who I cannot stand, and like, I just there's not
- 31:53Speaker 2: you don't have an enemy. And and when she and
- 31:56Speaker 2: Whitney got into it, and do I think that Whitney
- 31:59Speaker 2: sort of being like, how dare you not say congratulations
- 32:02Speaker 2: to me? I think it's a little silly. But I
- 32:03Speaker 2: also think she's like, oh, you knew this big thing
- 32:05Speaker 2: happened and you never mentioned it. That's weird. And I
- 32:08Speaker 2: think she's right about that. I think for her to
- 32:10Speaker 2: know big news about a person, about her friend and
- 32:14Speaker 2: to pretend like you don't know it, that is a
- 32:17Speaker 2: strange thing to do, just on a social level, and
- 32:22Speaker 2: I think that's what she was saying. I don't think
- 32:24Speaker 2: she was like I deserve you to give me flowers,
- 32:27Speaker 2: like Whitney is. She clacked her to be upset about
- 32:30Speaker 2: the weirdness of that. But then when she was like
- 32:34Speaker 2: I was there for you, Jen, I defended you when
- 32:36Speaker 2: you had all of your mental health. So that's true.
- 32:39Speaker 2: That's true. It's on camera.
- 32:42Speaker 1: All the girls were like Miranda's like she fucking did, Like, yeah,
- 32:47Speaker 1: all of that happened. It was like a it was
- 32:48Speaker 1: a great moment to have the girl's back, Whitney, who
- 32:51Speaker 1: they didn't even fucking care about Whitney because Whitney's hardly
- 32:53Speaker 1: there either, But they don't care about Jen either, and
- 32:56Speaker 1: they also know that this is a bad look. Jen
- 32:58Speaker 1: is obviously envious and jealous of Whitney. Like I think
- 33:01Speaker 1: that if you're Whitney and you realize that Jen didn't
- 33:04Speaker 1: do what she did, I think that there's a split
- 33:05Speaker 1: moment of being like, oh, that's weird. Why, Oh it's
- 33:07Speaker 1: because she's jealous. Yeah, because I'm about to because she's
- 33:10Speaker 1: doing horribly and Dancing with the Stars. Everyone knows she's
- 33:13Speaker 1: not a good dancer, Like, so I would know that
- 33:16Speaker 1: this person knew.
- 33:17Speaker 2: And I the one who watched Dan with the Stars.
- 33:19Speaker 2: It was not one hundred percent Jen's fault because they
- 33:23Speaker 2: didn't like her partner, because her partner I think I
- 33:25Speaker 2: think was the dancer because I only watched their content
- 33:27Speaker 2: from the season was the dancer who came from the
- 33:31Speaker 2: Taylor Swift like was one of Taylor Swift's dancers on
- 33:35Speaker 2: the Eras tour. That was like his story in the
- 33:38Speaker 2: season when they were talking about him and they didn't
- 33:41Speaker 2: like the stuff he did. So I think like as
- 33:43Speaker 2: the pro he was perhaps not as good as he
- 33:46Speaker 2: could have been. So it was just a lot of
- 33:47Speaker 2: like throwing her around instead of like dancing. Because I
- 33:52Speaker 2: remember seeing one episode where they gave him that note,
- 33:54Speaker 2: and then subsequent weeks I was like, this didn't really
- 33:56Speaker 2: change that much, whereas like Whitney was very well, very
- 33:59Speaker 2: well matched with with Mark. I mean, clearly they're back
- 34:02Speaker 2: together on on Broadway.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Are you gonna do you see did you see them?
- 34:08Speaker 2: No? I have friends who have gone. I'm not gonna.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I'm sadly not going to make it to New York
- 34:13Speaker 2: this spring.
- 34:13Speaker 1: So I heard she can't sing very well. Did you
- 34:15Speaker 1: hear that too?
- 34:16Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know, like I did. I heard
- 34:19Speaker 2: she sounded fine, nothing, no one said anything bad. But
- 34:22Speaker 2: she's Mormon. They can all kind of sing, like there's
- 34:26Speaker 2: a lot of singing. There's a lot Like I my
- 34:28Speaker 2: friend Jared, his husband is Mormon, they're a big part
- 34:33Speaker 2: of their Their wedding reception was like they basically had
- 34:38Speaker 2: like a family cabaret act, like where people got up
- 34:41Speaker 2: and saying things like and they can carry a tune.
- 34:48Speaker 2: So I you know, not to not to paint with
- 34:53Speaker 2: too broad a brush. But like I I the stuff.
- 34:56Speaker 2: I've seen the stuff from the first night, she seemed
- 34:58Speaker 2: a little shaky, but I'm sure she was really nervous,
- 35:02Speaker 2: so I imagine now she probably sounds better.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Yeah, And obviously it's not a hard rule to sing.
- 35:10Speaker 1: It's been stunt casted for the past whatever God bless years,
- 35:12Speaker 1: and she still beat all the stunt casting, which means
- 35:15Speaker 1: she beat like Erica Jane, which I love.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I went and I took my sister in law, who
- 35:21Speaker 2: were a lot younger than me, and I took them.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Their first Broadway show ever was Chicago. We took them
- 35:27Speaker 2: because we couldn't get tickets to Hamilton because it was
- 35:29Speaker 2: like the year before the Hamilton won all the Tonis
- 35:32Speaker 2: and so I was like, whatever, tkts Chicago. I loved
- 35:35Speaker 2: it in high school. They'll love it too. And the
- 35:37Speaker 2: stunt cast when we went was Niini Leek's as Mama Morton. Reciprocite, honey,
- 35:47Speaker 2: she there are words that woman still cannot pronounce. Her
- 35:51Speaker 2: first night of marble Mouth Morton more.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Like it feels good, MoMA, mama, it's like, yeah, oh
- 36:02Speaker 1: my god.
- 36:03Speaker 2: But uh, but no, I imagine, I imagine when he's great,
- 36:07Speaker 2: she will go on to do other things. Do I
- 36:09Speaker 2: think she's ever going to be like original cast in
- 36:11Speaker 2: a Broadway musical? Unlikely. I don't think she's going to
- 36:15Speaker 2: originate a role.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't think she's going to originate a role either.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I know that she has the Hallmark movie. I can
- 36:21Speaker 1: see her obviously moving on to getting like Netflix stuff
- 36:24Speaker 1: or like rom coms or things like on streaming things
- 36:28Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of, Like, do we think that
- 36:32Speaker 1: she has dramatic skills to be like a character? Like
- 36:36Speaker 1: what is her?
- 36:37Speaker 2: Listen? She can go to class like I? I?
- 36:41Speaker 1: She can't.
- 36:42Speaker 2: She she's she's hungry enough, and I think she's very
- 36:45Speaker 2: hungry despite despite what Jen might think. She's humble enough
- 36:50Speaker 2: to know that, like she's going to have to work
- 36:53Speaker 2: at it, and I believe entirely that she will, and
- 36:56Speaker 2: so could she do more? Probably right now? I don't.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I don't think she's there yet, But I believe that
- 37:01Speaker 2: she will work work, work, work, work to make that happen.
- 37:06Speaker 2: You know, it's just a matter of like, will Connor
- 37:09Speaker 2: be satisfied with close up magic?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Do you think that? Okay, who's going to get divorced
- 37:14Speaker 1: first or who's going to get divorced period? Between Zach
- 37:17Speaker 1: and Jen and Connor and Whitney.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I don't think Connor and Whitney are going to get divorced.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I think they are perfectly happy in what seems to
- 37:25Speaker 2: be a lavender marriage from the outside, and he is, Honestly,
- 37:30Speaker 2: he's the best husband, is the best when she's standing
- 37:33Speaker 2: outside of that restaurant at that hotel across the street
- 37:36Speaker 2: from the Grove, and he's on FaceTime and he goes,
- 37:41Speaker 2: what a fucking loser. I loved Connor and I've never
- 37:45Speaker 2: loved him more than in that moment, because Zach is
- 37:47Speaker 2: a loser, Like Zach jumped at the chance to go
- 37:51Speaker 2: and try and make a woman feel small, yeah, because
- 37:55Speaker 2: he can't do it to his wife right now. He
- 37:59Speaker 2: wanted to take his bitch ass little baby voice.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Here's by the way, here's Connor just pumping out the crowd. Sorry,
- 38:05Speaker 1: I can't say is pumping up the crowd in front
- 38:06Speaker 1: of his Broadway show. He is a he is an
- 38:09Speaker 1: incredible partner.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, And I think that whatever their past issues
- 38:17Speaker 2: have been, unless they rear their ugly heads, which if
- 38:23Speaker 2: they are living in New York or Los Angeles feels
- 38:25Speaker 2: more likely, which is another reason I don't think they
- 38:28Speaker 2: will make that move permanently. It's also you don't because
- 38:32Speaker 2: you don't have to be here for an extended period
- 38:35Speaker 2: of time. No, I think I think Jen should divorce Zach,
- 38:41Speaker 2: but part of me feels like they deserve each other.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Oh they do. Like Jen thinks she's better than Zak too.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Like Jen's like he's gross, she is like a weird voice.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I'm not saying she isn't, but like it's interesting because
- 38:54Speaker 1: she said it. She's like, who is he gonna go?
- 38:56Speaker 1: And Zach obviously, Zach's parents work at a hospital and
- 39:00Speaker 1: his dad, you know, like was a doctor and her
- 39:03Speaker 1: mom was you know, a house or a janitor there.
- 39:06Speaker 1: And so that makes me very fucking happy that she's like,
- 39:08Speaker 1: I'm met on him, I know it, and he'll never
- 39:10Speaker 1: leave me because I think that, and why I bring
- 39:12Speaker 1: it up, it's because yes, there is like a situation
- 39:14Speaker 1: where Jen, if you didn't have the mom talk money,
- 39:18Speaker 1: maybe she would feel indebted to be like this, you know,
- 39:22Speaker 1: like pale man. She did. You know she did.
- 39:25Speaker 2: We saw her in that position, I know, you know.
- 39:28Speaker 1: And now she knows she's not in it. And he
- 39:30Speaker 1: has to contend that he's not in doctor school. Do
- 39:31Speaker 1: you think he'll ever go to medical school?
- 39:34Speaker 2: No, because I don't think he he doesn't seem to
- 39:37Speaker 2: have the work ethic for it. And then also, like
- 39:42Speaker 2: that scene between him and Connor, the kids are running
- 39:45Speaker 2: around and he's like, I just feel like, I don't know, sorry,
- 39:48Speaker 2: I guess feel like Jen's husband, and Connor's like, oh,
- 39:53Speaker 2: like my Instagram bio, We're so proud of it, which
- 39:57Speaker 2: he's like, yeah, He's like he's and it doesn't. This
- 39:59Speaker 2: is the thing is like Connor's not bothered. He's not
- 40:03Speaker 2: he's he's not making Whitney the center of his identity,
- 40:06Speaker 2: but he recognizes this is what it looks like. And
- 40:09Speaker 2: in the same way that I think we can say
- 40:11Speaker 2: everything that we're gonna say about about to me, but
- 40:14Speaker 2: I think Brett like he's not he's not like trying
- 40:19Speaker 2: to like dominate to me. She's not trying to like
- 40:23Speaker 2: dominate him. They seem to have a genuinely good marriage,
- 40:29Speaker 2: like from the like you know, fruity pebbles notwithstanding, but like.
- 40:33Speaker 1: King Noma Kink shame honey, that's them. You know they
- 40:36Speaker 1: like they're doing what they're doing.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Do you know that you know the connection to housewives
- 40:39Speaker 2: there to Salt Lake City sex wife Angie is Angie?
- 40:45Speaker 2: H Yeah, that's Sarah Paulson looking bitch so crazy. Yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 1: He always hyped me up, like behind the scenes. I
- 40:53Speaker 1: feel like he made her seem feel like she was
- 40:55Speaker 1: like had a mom talk. That's why she came in
- 40:56Speaker 1: so hard, being like so aggressive, and I was like,
- 40:59Speaker 1: I mean we none of us are on that side, so.
- 41:01Speaker 2: No, but he he like, I appreciate the way he
- 41:05Speaker 2: gasses her up, even though she maybe shouldn't be gassed up.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Whereas it's like he's he's sort of like malevolent Connor
- 41:13Speaker 2: in that regard. I mean my computer slightly so I
- 41:17Speaker 2: can plug it in.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Jordan is also elevant. I'm elevant. I'm sorry, I can't.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Oh my god, Jordan looks like that stew from the
- 41:29Speaker 2: uh fuck, what's it? The below deck Salt Lake City
- 41:33Speaker 2: the one with the really bad hair. Yes, yes, and
- 41:38Speaker 2: you know, since you know Jesse hates that man since
- 41:41Speaker 2: since he's uh, he's married to a hairstylist and she
- 41:45Speaker 2: let him look like he got really bad Turkish hair plugs.
- 41:49Speaker 1: He heat first of all season three. This jump from
- 41:53Speaker 1: Jordan season three to season four in his face like
- 41:57Speaker 1: took me four episodes to be like, what the fuck
- 42:00Speaker 1: did this man do? I mean, he has a he like,
- 42:02Speaker 1: I think it's a it's a brow lift for sure.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Now for I don't know if it's just botox or
- 42:08Speaker 1: if he actually went in and got some goddamn threads.
- 42:11Speaker 1: But the man looked so different. I was shocked. Jeorge,
- 42:15Speaker 1: what is that thing where things are like chaotic or
- 42:19Speaker 1: good good? You know, it's like he is so upset
- 42:24Speaker 1: that he has no power in his dynamic that like
- 42:30Speaker 1: the the crazed amount of energy that he pours into
- 42:35Speaker 1: dad Talk is so cringey and so sad that I
- 42:38Speaker 1: don't even know. I don't know who to feel bad for.
- 42:40Speaker 1: More like his idea of dad Talk being good or
- 42:44Speaker 1: Jen thinking that she had a chance on dancing with
- 42:47Speaker 1: the stars, Like both are like, oh no, and people
- 42:50Speaker 1: think that Latilla like not Shanaiah, but the other girl,
- 42:54Speaker 1: Latia might be like a new cast member. You're that
- 42:59Speaker 1: girl that was like on another friend.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I liked her. She seems older than everyone else.
- 43:04Speaker 1: She does. I also talk about this, Why did Jen
- 43:12Speaker 1: keep saying that Whitney knows that she holds power and
- 43:17Speaker 1: the power that Jen thinks she holds is to get
- 43:21Speaker 1: people to vote or not vote for Whitney. And why
- 43:25Speaker 1: did jenk me for Jen?
- 43:27Speaker 2: Jen? Jen thinks Whitney has people to make you know.
- 43:30Speaker 1: The other way. Jen was like, Whitney knows I hold power. Whitney,
- 43:34Speaker 1: Oh well, no, she's right, She's right, Okay.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Whitney was getting all of this hate about like online.
- 43:44Speaker 2: You know, I listed if you've watched the Alex Cooper
- 43:47Speaker 2: interview that she and Mark did, which if you haven't,
- 43:50Speaker 2: has Alex basically got Disney to let them do what
- 43:56Speaker 2: they would have done if they had made to the
- 43:57Speaker 2: semi finals, like that big dance that they would do
- 44:00Speaker 2: to see if they want or not. It is incredible,
- 44:03Speaker 2: But they were getting all of this hate online, really terrible, terrible.
- 44:07Speaker 1: From about what though just like she doesn't deserved to
- 44:11Speaker 1: be there.
- 44:12Speaker 2: There was for the first time ever, I believe like
- 44:14Speaker 2: a concerted effort on the part of like fans of
- 44:18Speaker 2: the show to be like vote for everyone but them,
- 44:21Speaker 2: because you can't anti vote, you can't like vote against someone.
- 44:24Speaker 2: But if you make it so everyone else gets more,
- 44:26Speaker 2: Whitney automatically gets less vote for everybody except for Whitney,
- 44:31Speaker 2: so she gets less votes and then gets to go home.
- 44:34Speaker 2: So if Jen is going to say something to pile
- 44:38Speaker 2: onto that, especially because like, let's be honest, like Whitney
- 44:42Speaker 2: did not have the best season three, which is what
- 44:45Speaker 2: was airing right before those semi finals where she got
- 44:49Speaker 2: sent home, and then Jen coming out and saying, I'm
- 44:54Speaker 2: voting for well not Whitney, like she knew what she
- 44:57Speaker 2: was doing. Like, so people are paying attention to her
- 45:04Speaker 2: seeing what she has to say about Whitney, and it's
- 45:07Speaker 2: not positive. That's not gonna hurt that's not gonna help Whitney.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Okay, I see what you're saying. I guess didn't realize
- 45:13Speaker 1: there was such a concerted effort of the fans hating
- 45:15Speaker 1: on Whitney when I feel like, to me, was you know,
- 45:19Speaker 1: there was.
- 45:20Speaker 2: There was a narrative, There wasn't It wasn't It wasn't
- 45:22Speaker 2: fans of of Secret Lives, it was fans of of.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Why would they pick Whitney not being why would they
- 45:32Speaker 1: not want Jen to be on the show, Like Jen
- 45:34Speaker 1: doesn't deserve it? Why Joe?
- 45:36Speaker 2: So you know, like there was a story like the
- 45:40Speaker 2: Whitney majored in like modern dance in college. Yeah, so
- 45:44Speaker 2: they were like they were like, she has she has dancing.
- 45:47Speaker 2: It's not fair. The deck is stacked. She's a dancer.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Sure, singer was on the show, exactly exactly.
- 45:55Speaker 2: It's it's a for whatever reason, her divisive personality plus
- 46:02Speaker 2: her experience as a dancer worked against her, and there
- 46:07Speaker 2: was a sort of like big wave of like anti
- 46:10Speaker 2: Whitney as a result. Yeah, so that was that was
- 46:16Speaker 2: going on. I will say the the Alex Cooper interview
- 46:19Speaker 2: and the dance are worth watching. They're very interesting to
- 46:24Speaker 2: hear just about that experience. But and I don't know
- 46:26Speaker 2: if you've seen The z Way with Whitney, Oh you
- 46:31Speaker 2: got to watch it. That's another reason. Like a couple
- 46:35Speaker 2: of weeks ago, a few weeks ago, the Ways, oh
- 46:39Speaker 2: so z Way the comedian she started doing these during
- 46:44Speaker 2: the pandemic. She started doing these. Yeah, so she so
- 46:47Speaker 2: she just did one of Tiffany Pollard. That's great, But
- 46:50Speaker 2: she did an interview. She didn't The Way did an
- 46:52Speaker 2: interview with with Whitney a few weeks ago. And that's another,
- 46:57Speaker 2: yet another reason where I'm just like Whitney, you can't you,
- 47:01Speaker 2: You shouldn't you. You can't live in a big city.
- 47:04Speaker 2: You're not prepared, You're not ready for it. Another thing
- 47:07Speaker 2: where she posted a she posted a video after Isaac
- 47:16Speaker 2: I guess Zach and some press called her a narcissist
- 47:19Speaker 2: or maybe on the show, and she posted a video
- 47:22Speaker 2: that was like, oh, I just I thought of a
- 47:25Speaker 2: I thought of a comeback and it was great and
- 47:28Speaker 2: and I never think of a good comeback, but I
- 47:29Speaker 2: thought of a comeback, which it was like, Zach, how
- 47:32Speaker 2: can you diagnose me as a narcissist? I thought you
- 47:35Speaker 2: dropped out of medical school, Like it's not a bad joke.
- 47:41Speaker 2: But she was so proud of herself for that. Yet
- 47:48Speaker 2: another reason. I don't think she's ready for a big city.
- 47:51Speaker 2: If she lived in New York, who are going to
- 47:53Speaker 2: be her friends? If she lives in LA She's going
- 47:57Speaker 2: to go to that big church near near Century City West.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Oh, I know I know, you know, she can live
- 48:03Speaker 1: in Westwood. You know, I can have a really great
- 48:05Speaker 1: Lebanese restaurant, but she wants some recommendations.
- 48:08Speaker 2: Yeah, too spicy for her.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Probably, Yeah, she I think that she knows that she
- 48:14Speaker 1: has to play a gay but yeah, she is also
- 48:19Speaker 1: small a very small town girl, you know.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but wait, I want to go back to when
- 48:23Speaker 2: when we glitched Jordan. I'm not body shaming, but the
- 48:28Speaker 2: shape of his body doesn't make sense to me. His hair,
- 48:33Speaker 2: he's just like he's kind of or igor a little
- 48:37Speaker 2: bit like in like his shoulders are up like and
- 48:41Speaker 2: it's not that he doesn't have a neck, but I
- 48:44Speaker 2: just I he's such an asshole. And the way that
- 48:47Speaker 2: he was with with Jesse, where he's like, well, like,
- 48:50Speaker 2: I've changed all this stuff and she hasn't changed anything.
- 48:53Speaker 2: So she needs to change stuff because I changed stuff.
- 48:55Speaker 2: And I kind of I'm like, one of you is
- 48:57Speaker 2: the problem, it's not her, So does she have to
- 49:03Speaker 2: change things? I mean, I'm sure no one's perfect, but
- 49:06Speaker 2: like he just I am going to be happy for
- 49:11Speaker 2: a new season of the show where he's not on
- 49:13Speaker 2: our screen anymore. But I am worried for her that
- 49:16Speaker 2: that prenup that wasn't witnessed is not valid, and he's
- 49:20Speaker 2: going to get half of everything she outs.
- 49:23Speaker 1: I didn't want I just want to say this, How
- 49:26Speaker 1: could you let that comment be on TV? If that
- 49:29Speaker 1: is the case, unless unless she knew that he knew
- 49:34Speaker 1: he's always been knowing, then wouldn't he divorced.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Any To quote Karen Huger to Whitney osefo, shut the
- 49:42Speaker 2: fuck up. You're talking too much.
- 49:46Speaker 1: I yeah, like all of that's crazy. The thing about
- 49:50Speaker 1: Jesse is that and they kind of are like, oh
- 49:52Speaker 1: she Jesse's thing was that she might be selfish or
- 49:56Speaker 1: people were like whatnot? And the big thing was because
- 49:58Speaker 1: she was going to go to an unwell event over
- 50:01Speaker 1: Macy's book tour, which is like a in itself. It's
- 50:04Speaker 1: hard to be like, no one in their twenties can
- 50:07Speaker 1: write and needs to write a book, no one in
- 50:08Speaker 1: the like.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Just there's nothing.
- 50:10Speaker 1: She's thirty one, okay, well barely, And it's just like
- 50:13Speaker 1: Macy is the most uninteresting one. And I'm not saying
- 50:16Speaker 1: she doesn't have a life story. It's just that I'm
- 50:18Speaker 1: not surprised no one wants to hear it. Yeah, I'm
- 50:20Speaker 1: not surprised she didn't sell anything, Like I didn't want
- 50:22Speaker 1: to hear it either.
- 50:23Speaker 2: You know, it's so funny because when she's on and
- 50:27Speaker 2: this might be from the first half of the season,
- 50:29Speaker 2: I don't remember, but like when she is on the
- 50:31Speaker 2: phone with her agent about the book stuff, they name
- 50:36Speaker 2: check a bookstore in Salt Lake City that is my
- 50:40Speaker 2: friend's local bookstore that like he is actually he he
- 50:44Speaker 2: has gotten involved with the owners of that store to
- 50:46Speaker 2: do like because there's all of these book bands in
- 50:49Speaker 2: the state of Utah and bans they're banning books at schools.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Oh I see yeah bands, yes, yes.
- 50:55Speaker 2: And so he's so he's he was like, I guess
- 50:58Speaker 2: like approached the people at this particular bookstore and was like,
- 51:02Speaker 2: we should do like a banned book book club, like
- 51:05Speaker 2: where we're highlighting these books that are banned. Da da
- 51:08Speaker 2: da da da. But it was that bookstore that that
- 51:11Speaker 2: got name checked, and I was like, oh my god.
- 51:13Speaker 2: It's right across the street from like my favorite sandwich
- 51:17Speaker 2: place in Utah, which you would think there Listen, I
- 51:20Speaker 2: don't have any other sandwich places in Utah, but the
- 51:22Speaker 2: sandwich place is like we got off the plane when
- 51:25Speaker 2: we went to his wedding and it was our first stop.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Did they do a Dutch crunch roll? It's one of
- 51:30Speaker 1: those Is it one of those places where you get
- 51:31Speaker 1: like a little sheet you felt all the things you
- 51:33Speaker 1: want your sandwich?
- 51:34Speaker 2: No, it was, it was it's like a little sort
- 51:36Speaker 2: of like it's it's it would be like a nice
- 51:38Speaker 2: like west side sandwich spot here, Yeah, but not where
- 51:42Speaker 2: you're not, you know, it's not like, uh, what's that
- 51:46Speaker 2: one that like everybody loves on the West Side? But
- 51:48Speaker 2: they found rats Bay Cities. Yes, it's not like Bay Cities.
- 51:53Speaker 2: They have one of the best BLTs I've ever had.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Did you love Whitney's Spanish style home? And did you
- 52:00Speaker 1: subsequently feel like Jen and Zach getting in that McMansion
- 52:04Speaker 1: was like on brand for both.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Every time I saw that mcmanson, I wondered, is this
- 52:09Speaker 2: that house that's on Crescent Heights between Beverly and Third.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I thought, I think I know the house too. Oh
- 52:17Speaker 1: my god, I think you know the house too, yea
- 52:18Speaker 1: yea yeah, yeah, yeh yeh yeah.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Because it's on the left side of the street of
- 52:20Speaker 2: your head in South uh and and he could walk
- 52:24Speaker 2: to short stories to burate Whitney. So but no, of course,
- 52:29Speaker 2: I mean, look, you can tell I like a house
- 52:31Speaker 2: that has some charm. So no, I love I love
- 52:35Speaker 2: the Whitney.
- 52:36Speaker 1: I know the blighting and stuff like that. So also
- 52:38Speaker 1: side note is after the Gen and Zach Zach thing,
- 52:41Speaker 1: they made a whole point to be like, Okay, Zach
- 52:44Speaker 1: put up a TikTok, and the TikTok is like too
- 52:47Speaker 1: truth in a lie. And what he really wants people
- 52:51Speaker 1: to know is that he never lived in Whitney and
- 52:56Speaker 1: Connor's house, that that was a lie, that like Connor
- 52:59Speaker 1: and Whitney didn't have them living in the house before
- 53:01Speaker 1: they got a home, that they this is what. This
- 53:04Speaker 1: is what he says. He basically says in a TikTok
- 53:06Speaker 1: that they just showed up, filmed and slept somewhere else
- 53:08Speaker 1: that night.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Okay, well the offer was made, you came. And also
- 53:16Speaker 2: the productions this is what There's two things about production.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Production allowed us to believe that you did. So your
- 53:22Speaker 2: beef is not with Whitney. And secondly, I felt gas
- 53:28Speaker 2: lit by the show to an extent by the end
- 53:30Speaker 2: of the season because it felt to me, based on
- 53:34Speaker 2: the charges that were levied by Jen and Zach against
- 53:37Speaker 2: Whitney to be sort of like spurious, like that's some bullshit,
- 53:43Speaker 2: Like I don't really what are we accusing her of.
- 53:45Speaker 2: I can't really tell. But the show didn't like gave
- 53:51Speaker 2: it more heft, like it sort of allowed it to
- 53:53Speaker 2: just be like, oh, like this there was no there
- 53:55Speaker 2: weren't checking it. You know, It's like Housewives, someone will
- 53:57Speaker 2: say something and then you'll get all these voices of
- 54:00Speaker 2: being like, that's not my experience. But Secret Lives did
- 54:06Speaker 2: not do that, and so I was like and granted, listen,
- 54:10Speaker 2: I came into the season fully in the bag for
- 54:12Speaker 2: Whitney Lovitt. I think that's clear where my allegiances stand.
- 54:17Speaker 2: But she's not wrong. It feels like objectively and the show.
- 54:24Speaker 2: But the show was sort of like I don't know,
- 54:26Speaker 2: you guys, like there's two sides to every story, and
- 54:31Speaker 2: that just seemed weird to me.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I was. I mean, everything she said was so
- 54:37Speaker 1: on point, and I think made Jen look immature, dumb
- 54:41Speaker 1: from a different fucking planet. I mean to be like, yeah,
- 54:44Speaker 1: you don't own the dream of being on Dancing with
- 54:46Speaker 1: the Stars, Like you don't own we were all getting
- 54:49Speaker 1: opportunities like and Also, Jen, if your entire life has
- 54:53Speaker 1: been about Dancing with the Stars, and how come you
- 54:55Speaker 1: don't know that they dance for more than two to
- 54:57Speaker 1: three hours a day. I mean, I don't even watch
- 54:59Speaker 1: it with the stars that which I know those bitches
- 55:01Speaker 1: are at Third Street Dance, you know, like ballrooming it
- 55:04Speaker 1: up for like six hours. I mean we've literally, I
- 55:06Speaker 1: mean I've seen people shrink into half people because they
- 55:09Speaker 1: bought their bodies are moving so fucking much during the process.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I mean, I just assume people change, like the composition
- 55:17Speaker 1: of their bodies. They're working out so much.
- 55:19Speaker 2: So I don't know enough funny to me. What is
- 55:23Speaker 2: funny to me? Also about that is again the production
- 55:27Speaker 2: and like at the reunion for season three, I guess
- 55:32Speaker 2: it was. Yeah, it was the season three year reunion
- 55:37Speaker 2: they reveal who got to be on Dancing with the Stars,
- 55:42Speaker 2: and they told Jen first, and then they let the
- 55:46Speaker 2: surprise be that Whitney got it, which tells you production
- 55:52Speaker 2: is more excited for Whitney to be on the show
- 55:56Speaker 2: than for Jen, because they wanted Whitney to feel let
- 56:00Speaker 2: down and then to have the bounce back of even
- 56:03Speaker 2: more than if they had told Whitney first, and she
- 56:07Speaker 2: was like, oh my god. And they're like, and Jen,
- 56:09Speaker 2: you get to come too. That's not what they wanted.
- 56:13Speaker 2: They wanted Whitney to have that bounce back. They cared
- 56:17Speaker 2: more about her being on that show. But like, Jen
- 56:20Speaker 2: can't see any of that, Like why would why why
- 56:23Speaker 2: not say hey, it's the two of you, you're both
- 56:25Speaker 2: getting to go right, like, you know. And Whitney, to
- 56:29Speaker 2: her credit, when when everyone thought it was just Jen
- 56:32Speaker 2: that was going to get to be on it, was
- 56:35Speaker 2: it great. She didn't like cry. She wasn't a bit.
- 56:38Speaker 2: She was like, oh my god, good for you. I'm excited.
- 56:41Speaker 2: And maybe that was a projection. I'm sure she's deeply
- 56:43Speaker 2: disappointed in that moment, but like, you know, she didn't
- 56:49Speaker 2: let that color her, you know. And also like it's
- 56:52Speaker 2: funny to me that Jen's like, why remember now, Whitney's
- 56:55Speaker 2: not nice. You're not a threat to Whitney with scores,
- 57:00Speaker 2: as someone who watched, you're not a threat, not in
- 57:05Speaker 2: the slightest.
- 57:08Speaker 1: It's just that even watching them dance, it was obvious
- 57:11Speaker 1: that Whitney can fucking bust to move. She will bust
- 57:14Speaker 1: to move in her child's hospital room, like the woman
- 57:17Speaker 1: can dance, you know, like gotta dance. I mean her,
- 57:21Speaker 1: It's interesting, like you can just see that movement and
- 57:24Speaker 1: this woman's body go hand in hand. And Jen isn't
- 57:28Speaker 1: a dancer. There's not one part of the way that
- 57:30Speaker 1: she moves that I she's not even the best dancer
- 57:33Speaker 1: in the group besides Whitney. Like to me, the best
- 57:36Speaker 1: dancer in the group besides Whitney is Taylor. But it's
- 57:39Speaker 1: interesting they didn't make Yeah, that's why they probably were
- 57:41Speaker 1: like she's too big when we won't make Taylor on
- 57:44Speaker 1: Dance with the Stars, and also like maybe they knew
- 57:46Speaker 1: intrinsically they're not able to handle it.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Well, but also too it sounds like two days after
- 57:50Speaker 2: that reunion they were like, you're gonna go be the bachelorette,
- 57:53Speaker 2: so they didn't put her on It starts scene where
- 57:55Speaker 2: they were going to do that. I saw a tweet
- 57:56Speaker 2: that was like, we know this is the darkest timeline
- 57:59Speaker 2: because Taylor was the bachelorette. Like in a timeline where
- 58:03Speaker 2: Kamala won the presidency, Miranda would be the bachelorette, And honestly,
- 58:11Speaker 2: I think Miranda would be like a fucking kick ass bachelorette.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Like they should try this again. I get that this
- 58:16Speaker 2: has blown up in their faces so completely that they
- 58:18Speaker 2: probably will never ever not pull from Bachelor Nation. But
- 58:22Speaker 2: I think Miranda would be great television.
- 58:25Speaker 1: She's so dry, Layla would be Laila would be good though, too,
- 58:29Speaker 1: and Laila's talk about Okay, let's talk about it.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I feel I feel so when she said what she
- 58:38Speaker 2: said about being five to ten ninety nine hous elpi Ones,
- 58:43Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, like, you're not okay.
- 58:47Speaker 2: And I like her. I think she's a little boring.
- 58:50Speaker 2: I like Mason. I think to her attitudes about in granted,
- 58:56Speaker 2: you know, like I don't have any personal experience with this,
- 58:58Speaker 2: so whatever, grain of salt, but like her attitudes about
- 59:02Speaker 2: Mason as sort of like father figure, and and him
- 59:06Speaker 2: what he's saying to her about like oh, you should
- 59:09Speaker 2: be a little harder on your kids, and her having
- 59:11Speaker 2: a reaction to that, and you know, she explains where
- 59:13Speaker 2: that's coming from. But I think that her he's looking
- 59:19Speaker 2: out for her. He's like, you shouldn't let them walk
- 59:22Speaker 2: all over you, you know, and she's she's right. I mean,
- 59:25Speaker 2: he's right, like, you know, it's probably good for them
- 59:30Speaker 2: to have real boundaries as opposed to you know, it's
- 59:34Speaker 2: like I know that if I let my dog squeak
- 59:36Speaker 2: his little toy at me because he wants something, if
- 59:39Speaker 2: I give it to him, then he's like great, squeaking
- 59:40Speaker 2: the little toy at you works. And I don't want
- 59:42Speaker 2: that little toy squeak to me. It's annoying.
- 59:45Speaker 1: So ring me a bell looks like your dog being
- 59:47Speaker 1: like ding ding ding ding ding. Excuse me, Butler?
- 59:50Speaker 2: Where in my bone?
- 59:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 59:52Speaker 2: So I get. I get where Mason's coming from. It's
- 59:54Speaker 2: perhaps not his place yet to say something like that,
- 59:58Speaker 2: but I don't think he's wrong.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: He's not wrong, and in his mind it is his
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: place because he was born with the divine priesthood Jesus
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: man tenis true.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: So he seems less into it than someone like you know, Jacob.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: What are him and Chase like when they fucking go
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: out together?
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Who chasing? I'm sure they clean up or they did.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Let's okay, So let's okay going back. So yeah, your
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: team Miranda for the Baucherrette. I loved I love both
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: these women, and Laila had has had a lot more
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: character building over the seasons, like Miranda hasn't this you
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: brought up this point, which is, yeah, the production made
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: a huge to do of like the Jen Whitney thing,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: and we fucking glossed over the very real, intense trauma
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: of Layla, who has been like one of our favorites.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: She literally goes through the whole season. Oh I love okay, okay,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I like her. I like her. She doesn't Russians like this.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: I think, like to me, Leila gives me.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: I'm excited to see her with her new hair because
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I don't know if you've seen on social media, she's
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: not doing like the like she has braids.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: She looks great, she did the recent ones. She's back
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: to her bad weight weave, and I think it's because
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: she's probably having some hair.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Oh well, I don't see someone I saw TikTok. Someone
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: pointed out like production is doing her dirty because in
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: one of her interview shots you can see the wigline
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: like it's it's shifted back and no one fixed it.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: But that one TikTok of her with the braids, I
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: think she looks sectible.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't think that.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I think her hair has been a little flat, but
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: I get it. I get it. Like the culture she's
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: living in that's the style.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Jen's hair looks the worst. Layla's hair doesn't even like
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Jen's hair. To me, everyone's hair looks so fucking crazy
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: this season that half of me is like did Jesse
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: must have been like, fuck you bitches. I did everything
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: for you season one, and I'm not gonna do anything
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: for you. Taylor, You're on your own. I mean, you know,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: like she no one's hair looks good except for Miranda.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: She gets a bob, but like, yeah, Layla went back
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: to the extensions we gloss over Layla's very intense eating
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: disorder admission that is heartbreaking to hear that is not
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: only her and like the biggest trauma we've heard of her,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: but like a whole national fucking conversation right now about
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: TikTok and skinny talk and fucking body checking.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Well, I feel like, because it happens so late, I
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: hope that that's a journey we continue to see in
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: the next season, assuming that there is one. And I
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: think she I think she picked the best two people
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: to tell that too. Oh sure, you know, in Miranda
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: and Jesse, Like Jesse has been nothing more than like
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: a champion for any other woman on that show. Except
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: for Demi and only because to me was come behind
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: her back, yep, like you know, And and Miranda just
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: seems like a genuinely good person. Also, those three are
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: the liberals. I've watched some things Miranda had. I think, like,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: I think, I'm pretty sure I know Layla. Layla is
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: a Democrat, Miranda is a Democrat, and I'm pretty sure
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Jesse is a Democrat. I think those three are the
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: only confirmed Democrats, which again is perhaps why Whitney should
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: not live.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, so much of the I know, I
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: know Whitney is obviously conservative. She in Connor, you know,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: is maybe I'm just gonna allegedly Connor reads a little ssay.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: I mean, listen, the rumors that I have heard is
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: that everyone's like, yeah, Tinder, he was on Tinder girl, right,
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: it wasn't Tinder. But Connor's been through a lot of
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: things in his life. That sounds like he has some
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: things he's got to work out, and they're working them
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: with those things out together, Got speed to them. God,
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: bless does he do I.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Have to go back and like, does he do sleight
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: of magic on his hand? I my god, I'll see yes. Also,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Mikayla isn't into jays like, and we can talk about why,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: but the entire time it felt like I want to
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: be like, I don't want to have sex with you.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: That's why I can't have I don't even I'm not
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: only do I not want to have sex with you,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I can't even think about it and I don't want
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: to make it a priority. It was interesting that they
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: that she kind of they made her just feel like
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: she was like, I just don't I just can't consider it.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: And it's like she's listen, she has a lot of
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: trauma that she's that's clearly unprocessed that like is manifesting physically,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: and like, dude, you chose to marry and to love
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: somebody who has to deal with this, and so that
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: is part of your lot in life. And to be like, like,
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: I get that it's hard. I'm not discounting that. I'm
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: sure it is difficult and frustrating and sad and all
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: of the things, like you know, for him to like
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: get what he wants or not. But if you are
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: choosing to be with this person, you're there for their
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: healing and she's trying, but he's putting all this pressure
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: on her being Oh, I wish she was like it
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: was before, Like I said earlier, like oh, you mean
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: when she was fifteen, When she was fifteen and you
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: were like eight to ten years older than her. Yeah,
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: So for him to be romanticizing a time in her
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: life when she was recently traumatized and very very young
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: is gross.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I don't think. Yeah, Masie and Mikayla both are kind
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: of like grinning and bearing it with their husbands, and
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I mean, and Jesse can't even bear it anymore and
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: definitely not grinning.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Well, Dakota I feel, I feel is to blame largely
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: for Jacob's Dakota and Jordan I think are largely to
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: blame for like Jacob's bullshit, because he seems perfectly fine.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: She wore the pants, it didn't matter, but then he
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: starts hanging out with these guys and all of a
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: sudden he's like got stuff to say and which you know,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: again going back to Taylor and Dakota a little bit
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: obviously like the centerpiece of the last It's funny. I
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: finished watching the show on Tuesday, I think, and then
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: also like perfectly timed, but Dakota is a monster. I
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: get that she has you know, done some bad things.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: He is a nightmare and like the fact that, like
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: she's in a good place, so he's gonna like fuck
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: her mom's best friend. She's in a good place, so
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: he's gonna like fuck her friend's friend. Like these he
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: seems he's got kind of like a nice guy face,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: like and clearly he's like got some charisma, but he's
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: he's an addict.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I mean, he's a manipulative, lying addict. Yeah, eyes that
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: like you know, rereek of like hair. I mean, yeah, no,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: he's not it for sure. I can't believe that she's
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: allowed him on the show. She I can't believe that
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: he had to be on the show over and over.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: I can't believe the dad talk wasn't like let's take
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: care of Taylor and like not have this person on
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: the show. None of that happen. Also, I know that
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: you said it's ornamental, but definitely you know, she's been
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: an executive producer of the series.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Well they all are. They all have executive producer titles,
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: I wonder, but again those don't No one is letting
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Layla call the shots for production. You know, like those
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: are ornamental, Those like like no one is actually genuinely,
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: like like in a real power sort of way, because
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: if like, yeah, so he's just bad news. If any
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: of them truly cared about her, they would not let
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: him come around. He shouldn't have been on that trip
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: to La of course, like they know he's terrible. I mean,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: they spent all season. They spent all season being like, Taylor,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: you can't do this, Taylor, don't do this, Taylor, don't
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: do this. And so for us to end the way,
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: we end with her face timing him in the car
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: and he's like says for me, and I'm just like, God,
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: you're disgusting. And to know that, you know, she went
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: on the Bachelor, she got engaged, and then she like
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: she flew back to Utah and immediately cheated on that
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: guy and then.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: She, uh, police come on February.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Well wait and then he then he breaks up with
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: her Doug. Then Doug breaks up with her, and then
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: they're broken up. The show is going to come out
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: whatever I get. Someone said that she was just back
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: here for like the Oscars and Bachelorette promo, and I
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: guess they reconnected and apparently rekindled. Yep, was it in
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: February that that this most recent domestics. H So it
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: was before that then the Dakota.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: So yeah, obviously all the videos again is from twenty
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: twenty three. But what had happened was is that she
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: had the cops called two days in a row to
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: her home, like the thirteenth or fourteenth of February fourteen.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Fifteenth's like that in February, a month before we are now,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: and that that's.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: When she like choked him with a necklace or something.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and then she puts up that video with Doug later.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: Oh, so I have like, I think everything she's done
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: and is doing is terrible, but like he's goating her
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: into it and then playing the victim when she spins
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: out on him, Like I like.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Like, I am I not blame I'm like blaming her
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: too much. I'm like she called him one hundred and
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: fifty times.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Well the bachelor, she's she's she's crazy and she's completely
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: dysregulated and needs help. But Dakota like because his because
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: the things he does don't present as extreme as hers,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: he seems fine by comparison in the same way that
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: we're like all fine with you know, George W. Bush.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Now the Drum's is president, like.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: You know, it's lesser of too, I guess evils, but yeah,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: but he's just he's just as bad.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: It just looks differently. And to and to watch to watch,
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: because I think you sent it to me. To watch
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: the TikTok of him on the bodycam footage from that
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: night from the pilot, he seems completely chill and normal
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: and blameless.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Sober, I know, and was he sober at that point?
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: He seems way more sober in that bodycam footage from
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: that night than she does, of course, but.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: That's because their stuff, like like you know, she it
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: sounds like was drunk. And her rage, you know, like
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: she's she's having an out of body experience and you know, black,
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: she's having a rage blackout. It doesn't excuse it, but
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: I don't think she's in control of what she's doing.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: I mean, and as much as said when she shows
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: up after finding about out about Shanaya, she flips out
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: on all of them to the point where they run outside,
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: scurry outside to all stand around a phone. And then
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: when she shows up at main titles and she apologizes,
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: she's like, yeah, I got mad, and so therefore I
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: flipped out and I'm really sorry and I shouldn't do that.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: She knows what she she knows that it's wrong, but
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: it's still happening and she's not getting any help. She
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: needs anger management issues, like like therapy or whatever.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I really blame her, not for the abuse, not
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: not about the Dakota situation, but I have a lot
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: of blame for her. And the reason why is because
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: I also had to watch the entire mom talk walk
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: on eggshells just to talk to someone about them and
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: their choices, and she continually is like, what does it
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: have anything to do with you? With what I do
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: with my life? And like, bitch, it literally has everything
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: to do with us. It impacts the bag she's Taylor
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: is and I mean this so far up her ass
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: and so far in a space that is unaware that
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: healing is a possibility or that she even needs it,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: like or that she can she I know, She's like,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: I don't think I'm a lovable but I think that
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: all of that is just her victimhood. Like I really
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: am not in a good tailor place, Like I feel
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: like everything she says is just deflecting. Girl fucking data
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: has one kid now? With you you have three.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, she she she's not taking responsibility. I listen as
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: much as I'm I'm holding I'm giving her some grace
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: in terms of the why she's like the way she is.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: But like, let me be clear, like I'm not I'm
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: by no means excusing it or apologizing for it on
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: her math Like I think she's messed up and she's
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: not doing what she she bears a lot of responsibility,
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: Like like what that guy said, what the cop says
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: to Dakota in that footage is basically like if you,
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: if you don't press charges, if you, if you just
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: wipe this away, don't talk about it, or even just
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: have a little conversation with a slap on the wrist,
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: this will get worse. It'll happen again. And he's right.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: And she had what should have been a huge wake
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: up call a couple of years ago that she didn't
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: make any real changes from well.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: Got turned into the best opportunity of her whole fucking
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: life because it was used for season, you know.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: But at the same time, I wonder about production, because
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: production they don't want a healed Taylor necessarily, they want
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: her just damaged enough to make good television. And that
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: is where I think like a lot of like you
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: have a lot of people that are blaming Taylor, which
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: I think to an extent is fair, But there's but
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: that if you're doing that and you're not also acknowledging
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: the system that helped create this monster, like, then that
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: is I think winds up being shallow. I think that
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: like we need to reckon with like the bullshit patriarchy
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: of more religion and religion and also like it's we
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: just watched it on on that not very well made
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: in my opinion, Tyra Banks America's next tome model. Like
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: they're feeding the beast they want it to be like
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: and let's be honest, like at this like we are
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: not tuning in for funzies. We we are here. We
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: spent like over an hour talking about this drama because
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: we like to watch the drama. I'm not saying we're
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: a part of the problem, you know, because like Tyra
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Banks being like the audience just wanted me to like
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: abuse these girls. It's like no, no, no, no, Like let's be clear,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: but like ABC didn't want a healed tailor on the
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Bachelorette either, you know.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: They want her to have that heistiness.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I think if that had been if that moment
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: in twenty twenty three had been a wake up, true
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: wake up call for her and changed her, I don't
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: know that she would necessarily be the bachelorette. I see.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: There would be like a marketing logic, like a like
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: a synergy logic to cast her and have her and
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: and that would play into definitely the thing of the bat,
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: like the whole ethos of like the fairy Tale of
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: the Bachelorette. But like, I don't I don't think that's
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: where I think they were excited for her to be
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: a little messy and to be a little different, you know.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: No, definitely, And yeah, we I play a part. I'm
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: like a Roman gladiator. It is like, you know, watching
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: this and we love entertainment, and I yeah, she has
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: to deal with the system of the patriarchy, system of
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: intense religion, system of Hollywood. Did you also watch and
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: We're Gonna Ensign? Did you watch the Manisphere documentary?
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: I haven't yet, but I intend to.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: It's interesting obviously, And why I bring it up is
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: like the same idea that like fans hype up someone
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: for bad behavior, you know, like in the manisterary documentary,
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: they have like you know, those weird people like go
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: and fuck fuck people or play pranks on people or
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: whatever it is like and do lives just to get
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: people to be like, yeah, I get i'min. It's just
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: all of this, like yeah, and I think that in
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: a way it's a version of that as well, you know,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: like she go everyone Demi. Everyone talks about going in
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: a live right away and talking about what the fuck
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: happened in order to like monetize the drama of their
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: lives and to get people to say yes or no
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: and good job this or go you or whatnot and
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: like the well and then the audience is automatically going to.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Reinforce the things that they want, and they want drama,
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: you know, like like writ Large, like as monolith, the
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: audience does not have the best interests of anybody involved
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: in it. You know, they wanted to be messy and
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: and and listen that that appetite could shift if you
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: look at something like Simon Cowell on American Idol, like
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: he was you know, like that the the abuse of
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: the contestants was rewarded until it wasn't and then and
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: then he changed and I listened to an interview with
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: him last year where he was like, yeah, I regret
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: how it was before it didn't click for me. But
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: it makes sense because he's in this he's in this
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: like haze of of that being reinforced. You're you're getting
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: you know, you're getting viewers, you're getting ratings, you're getting clicks.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Like you know, I'm so happy to not be I
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: I have. I have a pretty healthy, I think relationship
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: to social media in that, Like I think of my
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Instagram primarily as like a scrap book, like I'm not
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: doing I didn't know for the longest time. Mom, yeah,
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: like legit not that, but like I didn't know for
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: the longest time that you can like see who sees
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: your stories and that's not something I really ever look
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: at because I don't know you. I'm not doing it
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: for for the audience necessarily. It's not you know, like
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: if I listen, if I if I like post a
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: selfie and I look good, like yeah, like I want
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: to like how many people saw it?
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Like who saw it?
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: I don't care? Like but but but I think that
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: like that is it makes I understand why, like I'm
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: so happy that I'm old enough to like not have
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: had Facebook or YouTube in high school, you know, like
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: to be that that to be creating it, like it's
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: to be creating a projection of yourself, an image of
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: yourself that is not who you are from such a
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: young age, which these women were, and I think also
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: doing that like as young moms, when I think it's
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: probably a lot harder to be juggling that stuff at
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: a younger age, like the noise of social media, Like
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: I had a friend who I have a friend who's like,
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: you should you should go on the Traders, like because
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: they're doing a normal season, and I think I would
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: be good. I think I would have fun. I would
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: not be able to disconnect from the noise of the
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: internet as someone who's very online, and if people said
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: things about me, it would get to me. And I
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: don't want that for myself. And this is of course,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: you know, thinking of like if I were even to
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: be cast on it, which probably I wouldn't be, but
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: like that would be really tough. So I can't imagine
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: being in the crucible of that and what it's done
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: to all of these women in various ways, negative and
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: potentially positive, you know, because I'm sure, Leila, I would
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: think like telling her story is actually getting a lot
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: of affirmation in terms of like her getting help. Yeah,
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: now that's out there, you know, but I could see
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: how her being in the position that she's in and
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: being so public and so visible would also exacerbate, you know,
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: her struggle at the same time.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and she obviously talked about that and stuff like that.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: I just hope that she really does get help, and
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: I hope it's not somewhat performative where we have to
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: see like body checking to be like whatever. It's just
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: it's I want the best for Laila. Layla and Miranda
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: had comments. This is Miranda's I'm honestly, I've honestly been
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: a little at loss for words, trying to process. That's all.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: Everything has been really heavy to see. Domestic violence and
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: abuse of any kind is something I take very seriously
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: as a human and especially a mother. I cannot support
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: that kind of behavior. My heart is with the children
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: in this and I hope they're safe, supported and surrounded
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: by love. It's perfect.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: It is sometimes funny to think about this show because
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: they're so young, and because they're so immature, and to
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: be like, right, they're all mothers, because that is the
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: central conceit of their group is mom talk. They're all moms,
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: and sometimes I forget that. It's always wild to remember it.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: I want you to know, do you know that? On
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: this quote from Doug, Doug mainson Who's like, in light
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: of everything that's happened, I'm just sending out prayers to
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Taylor because that was her moment, and her moment was blocked.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: All we could do right now is be hopeful. Let's
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: That today a fan posted that and that Taylor commented
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: this today. Wait, uh huh ah. My heart goes out
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: to him. So, Doug, yeah, for posting that thing about her.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: That's what she commented today. Yeah, she needs, I mean,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: she needs a fucking authentic, real person to be like,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: fix yourself. You're a problem. You're not the problem. You're
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: a huge problem. And here's the thing. All you have
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: to do to get Dakota Dakota out of your life
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: that is a problem is just not fucking have him
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: in your life. And I know he bother when they
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: share a kid, totally totally. But here's the thing. She
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: knows that her boundaries with him are have been romantic
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: the entire time. She like she yells at him. There's
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: nothing that she she will like eviscerate him when he's around, Like,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: there's just she won't leave him alone.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: So I mean, and the season she said she gets off,
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: they get off on that a little bit.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they do, which is fucked up. She like gets
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: turned on. Okay, so we'll see what happens in Secret
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: Lives and Mormon Wives. They're definitely not saying anything. Productions paused.
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: She you know, she thinks she's I think she's got
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: to be off the show. I think that these girls
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: need her out of their lives if they are going
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: to protect the bag, and if she doesn't have those
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: things and she's lost her kids.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: I hope someone is keeping an eye on her.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: That that part not to be, not to be, not
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: to get dark. You're not the first person, you know.
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: Like, this is a big deal, And I hope she
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: gets the help she needs.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: I do too. The fact that she did that today
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: is confusing to me. All Right, she's not well, she's
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: not well, not well. No, well, we'll see what happens
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: with yet less and Mormon Wives. Who knows what we'll
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: find out the talk survive, can Mom talks Hervie, Will
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Jesse become queen of mom talk, will be single moms?
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: Just like will the whole season be about everyone just
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: picking up their lives in you know, like phoenixes from
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: the Ashes of Taylor and their most of their marriages.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: Because I don't I also feel like Jenn. I feel
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: like Whitney and Jenner off the show too kind of.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: I think Whitney, if she is smart, she still needs
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: this as a platform to keep her central.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: I think she a little bit of both, like tow
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: in here, like I'm in New York, but I'll come
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: in and film a little bit.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I think she I think she needs to be.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: I think she needs to be. I think she should
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: fill a little bit of the void left by Taylor,
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: and she still needs them. She needs this platform because
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: otherwise she's just another one to be actress, you know,
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: without without the platform of this show.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: I know, you know, that's why I want to go
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: on Traders, I know, but like I.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: Think, I think I think she should do it. Jen.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: I don't know. Jen needs it too, But like Jen,
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: no one likes Jen.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: They all hate her.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: She was gone all this season. We'll see, We'll see
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: what happens.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: All right, my babe, anything else fun happening with you?
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: Are you obsessed with anything right now? Like music wise,
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: photo wise, restaurant wise, play wise, music wise. Yeah.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: I just discovered this new band. I think their album
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: came out like a couple of weekends ago. Hote h
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: a U t E like Hote Couture Hote and Freddy.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: It's very much giving, like early Marina and the Diamonds.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: Uh like that is great. I am also very into
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: this artist named August Ponthier p O n t h
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: I E R. They are like Casey Musgraves meets Jenny Lewis,
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: sort of like like Sabrina Carpenter, Moon Chapel Roone Rising,
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: Like oh yeah, very good and then my number one
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: pop music fixation at the moment. New album comes out soon.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: Ray the most I think nominated or awarded ever at
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: the brit Awards, and I am seeing her play the
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: Greek in May. I have the only I only tickets
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: to two concerts so far this year. It's her and
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: I'm seeing Roseliah in July.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: That's amazing and ask me a great concert. She's fucking phenomenal. Yes,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: my I love that. Okay, my pop fixation is still
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: Zara Lars and I can't stop listening to her. You
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: know what, I'm tickets. It's so good. I got tickets
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: to Yeba in May. I have four of the took
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: a Toney to her show and Orange Buny. Obviously she's
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: taken a long time off, so she's not like a
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: new pop person. But well, I'm excited to have her back.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: And then play wise, in La I saw Amadeis. It
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: was great. Passing a playhouse.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: Yes, they just they just I mean, it's a ways off,
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: but they just announced my favorite play of probably like
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: the last five years is going to be at the
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: Gefen in twenty twenty seven.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Ratiation. I know, do you want to go together?
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: Yeah? I want to go see it again.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: For sure. I was thinking it's not the original, it's
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: not the Broadway cast though, like for some reason.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: It yeah, I don't, I don't know. I mean, maybe
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: they're maybe they're busy, maybe they're not. I'm not sure.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: There was something else.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Oh, English English, I saw English on Broadway.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: Excellent, so good.
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: I'm upset to the the last monologue I've been using
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: as a as a monologue.
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: Oh that's good. Yeah, I want to I want to
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: go see that at the Wallace. Yeah.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: Exodus is also a passing a playhouse happening later, and
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: I have tickets tomorrow for all all my sons.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: Oh the Mexodus. I saw the playwright of that had
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: a different show at the Fountain Theater last year that
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: I saw and sort of went in and was like,
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: what is this? What am I watching? And then was
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: like fully sobbing by the end of it. Great, can't
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: wait for that. And then a friend of mine is
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: actually producing a show that's going to be at the
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Kirk Douglass that is you was running for a while
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: at Dynasty Typewriter called Beverly Hills. Basically this I just
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: saw the yeah clips of this, Okay, Yes. A journalist
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: writer friend of mine, Michael Osiello, he wrote these scripts
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: when he was thirteen for an imagined soap opera called
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: Beverly Hills. And so it's real actors performing the scripts
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: that he wrote when he was thirteen, And they I
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: believe are blind reads, so I don't think they're going
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: in having read them before. And so like there's a
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: little bit of sort of improv to it. It is.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: I've been to one of the shows a Dynasty Typewriter.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: They did one in New York. The cast is great.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: If the tickets are even still available, that's happening. I
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: think like early to mid April.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: Oh that sounds so good. Yes, yeah, yeah, all of
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: that everything we said is true. And then also I
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: think brigad Dune is also happening at capacity at Playhouse.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Yes, I think like May June.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: God, so many great things. And Drew Drogi, Drew Drogi
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: is doing a show at Dynasty Typewriter on April Fool's
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Day and it's basically Drew Drogi, a very funny actor
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: comedian also Ground Evening America. I am Chloe seven seven
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: wrote Messy off Messy Why Gaze. I know you know this,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: but I'm telling everyone on the podcast, so Messy White
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: Gaze happens off broad Away And there's this one night
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: where fucking there's a heckler happening, and the heckler like
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: is like you could go boys or just like some
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: drunk person just like yelling at the cast. But that
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: night also Paddlopones there, Padlopone goes to that person is like,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: I hope you'll never see another play again. Like that happened.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: That story becomes me like a page six loves, like
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: a paddlopone story. So Drew is doing a one person
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: show as the Heckler, as if the Heckler now got
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: to do a show. It's wild.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: Oh that's kind of brilliant. I know there's going to
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: look into that. I'm sure it's.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: There's a couple of tickets for the late night show
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: at nine. I'm going at seven thirty. Other than that,
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: I love you so much. I can talk to you
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: for a forty five works so fun.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: We could, but like, you know, nope, we don't need
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: to do that to everybody. You know, we get that off,
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: we get that off off the clock, off camera.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: No, totally, totally. But I love you so much. So,
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: uh do you want people to follow you?
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: I mean sure if they want to.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: Oh, okay, and mind like I follow you. I'm like,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: you is your I'm like, I don't know if you're private.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: It's that you are not? Yeah, okay, give me people
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: give people your socials. No, it's at g D career
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: on Instagram. That's really that's really it. Yeah, so if
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: you listen, if you want like a very smart and
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: astute specific person's like nuanced opinions on everything we talked about,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: but also like he's a you know, Garrett's a literary
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: manager in Hollywood, so the person knows Hollywood scripts all
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: that stuff. We're just not talking about scripted stuff right now.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: God bless. But you know, maybe plays would make a
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: would be like that, but you you know, you doll
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: out knowledge and your suggestions for all things. So it
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: would be a great fun follow for anyone. And obviously
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: I love talking with you and we're gonna go see
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: stuff together. So the way I usually ends, I do
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: my socials, I make people breathe with me and then
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: I do an outro. Do you want to breathe with me?
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: Or do you have?
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: Okay? Great? Okay, So obviously I'm at Chris selfare thank
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: you so much for listening to this. It's been a

- 1:31:48Speaker 1: Venity Farah Facebook page.
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: All of it.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: Other than that mindful moments, it's been a lot. It's
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: about regulating ourselves. It's important to be able to touch
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: base with your your heart and yourself and like some
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: amount of reality, to be like what is good for you?
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: What is good for your soul?
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Like what it is?
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: And I don't know if the answer is one thing
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: or another, but a good place is just to fucking breathe.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: So that's why we practice this. Any way you can
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: to get yourself in the present moment. Sensory wise, you
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: can feel your feet on the floor. You can feel
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: your butt on the seat. You can just use your
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: hand to feel your chair. This present sensory moment is
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: what's happening right now. Also my voice, also your breath,
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: anything in the room to get you and your mind
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: to stop thinking about what happened in the past or
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: planning for the future, but sitting in right now, this
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: present moment with me. So two breaths, try and do
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: your best to be here. If your mind wanders, gently
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: guide it back. You have another chance with the other breath,
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: and we'll just move on from that with our lives,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: because we always have more opportunities for everything. What more,
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: am alright, baby Booze, take care of yourselves and one another.
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: Buck Bob Barker through stand up for what you believe
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: and make art, and we'll talk to you later, he
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: might
