- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jagdworth's fans, welcome in to Duval, daily presented by Gen Jack.com.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: And if you'll buy brass tax coffee, it's Friday, September 18th.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm your host, Jordan Delugo, and right now we're talking Jags and Broncos.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: What else would we be talking about?
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars have a 405 p.m. kick in Denver for the Broncos home opener.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: It is going to be quite an environment.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: It is going to be quite a game.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is obviously have won nine straight games, including a win and Denver in December last year, 34 to 20 over these Denver Broncos.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, we are getting into what the Jaguar has to do to win this game, the keys to victory.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think if the Jaguar has come out and play where they have the last nine games for the most part,
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: they'll handle their business.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're a better team than the Broncos right now.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think when you look at the quarterback and play calling situation on offense for both teams, the Jaguars have a clear advantage there with Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence compared to
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: the play calling on both sides.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Vance Joseph is a good play caller.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Probably top 10 on the defensive side of the ball.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think Camp is closer to the top of the league.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I think he's done an incredible job.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, think that the Jaguars have just looked like the better coached over the last 10-ish games, better coached, better quarterbacked.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: more prepared team on a regular basis.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I think if the Jaguars literally just play their game, they will win the game.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a lot that goes into that.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to get into it.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all be in here.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: Can also hit that high button.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, respect that opponent.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: I know there's no reason to believe that Jaguars would be looking at the Broncos or looking past the Broncos or feeling themselves too much,
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars haven't really proven anything.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they won a big game in week one.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, they've won nine straight.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: But good teams separate seasons.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: Good organization separate seasons.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: What they did in 2025 has no bearing anymore.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: It does not matter.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you can study that game.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: You can study what the Broncos have going on.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Last week all that stuff.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: But like, it doesn't matter.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: If you go out and lose this football game, you're just a one and one team at 500.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: it literally doesn't matter what you did before this.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to respect your opponent and I don't think that there's any reason to believe the Jaguar's won't respect their opponent the way they are coached the way the team is wired.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: But if they feel, if they just go in there and they're feeling themselves like too much and they're not really on their pees and cues and like really focusing on the game plan and everything it takes to win in Denver, they could lose the game.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about that.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: So you gotta respect the situation and not get a big head.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Realistically though, in terms of like, what was a weakness that the Jaguars put on tape last week?
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to pick out one.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: on offense or defense, but you can absolutely say kick coverage.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: The kick coverage was a trotace for the Jaguar last week.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that popped up in the preseason as well.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like it was a complete one off.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's something that it feels like the Jaguars are struggling with right now.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: Heath Farwell.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: is a wonderful special team's coach.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have a lot of guys that are talented enough for that kick coverage to be really good and you've seen like the other areas of special teams executed at a very high level.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: literally every other area besides kick coverage.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: So it's something the Jack Wars have to be focused on this week in terms of cleaning it up.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's something that I think that they will be able to clean up but can it happen this week?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you allow the type of kick returns that you did last week against the Browns, the Broncos are actually a team that can take advantage of that.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns weren't.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: The average 38 yards per return.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: Reheem Sanders had three for 130, including a 74-yarder.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Dylan Samson had two for 64, including a 37-yarder.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: Malachi Corley had one for 34 yards.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: All of their kick returns were good, almost all of them.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Almost all of them were really good for the Browns and like there was a disappointing moment for them for the Jaguars.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: you can't give Denver short fields the way you did the Browns.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: You just can't do it.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to end up hurting you.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: I feel confident about that.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: So that is like the biggest thing I actually have circled is kick coverage.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that might seem silly but special teams impacts football games in a big way.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: So kick coverage is honestly the biggest thanks for me.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: If they do that, again, I think they're going to set themselves up in a very good spot.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, on the offensive side of the ball, you're going into a hostile environment.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: For the first time this year, you have to be able to handle the crowd noise.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so, whether that's Robert Hainesy talked about it this week, reading Trevor Lawrence's lips in the huddle, whether that's not having any mental mistakes pre-snap because you're not focused.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's just a lot that goes into it.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: The communication and the mental mistakes pre-snap when there's movement, when there's cans at the line of scrimmage, different things like that.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta be able to handle the crowd noise because it's gonna be loud.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: It is the, again, Denver Broncos home opener.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos have their backs against the wall.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: The fans are going to be out there gonna be loud.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna be nating at times, but you just gotta ignore that and not laugh at it.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be loud when the Jaguars have the ball pre-snap.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: And so that is got to be a priority being able to handle that and look.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, Liam Cohen, this offense, they've been specifically to Denver before, but they've been in a lot of hostile environments, but they haven't done it this year.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they haven't done it this year.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be critical just the pre snap communication and execution.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Everything that happens before the snap with the Jack Wars offense that like every single play they go out there.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: They have.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: an idea of what they're looking for.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the beautiful things about the Jaguar's offense is almost every single time they get to the line of scrimmage, Trevor Lawrence has the tools at his disposal to get the Jaguars in the right play based on what they're seeing upfront.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: So if you can't communicate that or if you struggle to communicate that
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: So they've got to be able to handle the crowd noise and have a good plan for that.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Those are two of the biggest things.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: There's one more fairly big thing I think with the Broncos specifically here.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna get to it, but I gotta remind you all the Jaguars, I've been talking about them like they should be the favorites.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: They're two and a half point road underdog still against the Broncos.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know I love that one, over at my bookie.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars of one nine straight regular season games by an average score of 33.6 to 14.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: My bookies website is easy to use on desktop or mobile.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: They've got all the NFL action you could ever want and a whole lot more.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing I really love about my bookie, you get rewarded for your action with weekly cash back and I also love taking a look at the Jaguars wind total over under.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's still at nine and a half.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's easy, that's easy for me.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you're new, use my promo code DoveWall.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: Do you VAL all caps to claim your first bet risk free up to $500?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's a no-brainer.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Get in before kickoff sign up at my bookie.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime, anywhere that's my bookie code, DoveWall must be 21 plus 18 plus and select jurisdictions terms and conditions apply gambling problem.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Call when it undergamble or visit when it hang 100gamble.net for free competition support available 24.7.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: with the Denver Broncos.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: They are a team, they're not the most exotic team in terms of the blitzes that they'll bring, but they are up there.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: I say they're not the most, cause like you clearly look at Minnesota and what Brian Flores does.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: But they are up there.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: Man's Joseph is aggressive.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: He has really good pass rushers.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: He has really good blitzers as well at all three levels.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: So that is something you have to be able to identify.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: And your protection rules have to be extremely sound.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: And what does that mean?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that means when you get to the line of scrimmage and you're the offensive line and you're the tight end and you're the running back, if you're asked to protect, the communication has to be on point where you identify the mic and then you identify the responsibilities of every single offensive lineman and that's communicated and everyone understands that.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: because you cannot have free, free, uh, rusher's going after Trevor.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's one thing, if you know your hot, like if you know there's gonna be an unblocked man, and again, that goes back to the rules.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: And you have to get the ball out extremely quickly, right?
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's another thing if the communication and the assignment understand it has not like, you know, Murray's going crazy, sorry.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: Just got the zoomies.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: So it's another thing if you don't understand your assignment because that can lead to a free Russia and that can lead to a major problem.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: A major major problem.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Murray's got those zoomies.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, girl.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't normally do that while we're recording, but hey, that's okay.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the offensive line rules are just so critical.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: So so critical.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: There's some other things that we can get into for sure, but those are the big three things.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Kick coverage.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: The pre-snap noise on offense and then the rules of the offensive line, protection rules.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: If you handle those things, honestly have a hard time seeing the Jaguars lose this football game.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Again, they are just miles ahead when it comes to the quarterback and the playcaller.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen is
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: one of the very, very best play colors in football.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Davis Webb, it doesn't look like he's in that category, and then you also have the fact that Trevor Lawrence is one of the very best quarterback's in football, and it certainly does not look like Bonix is in that category.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: I feel so confident about it, but, you know, defensively, be you.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Bo Nick's has struggled against zone coverage in his career as compared to man coverage.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos are a better team against man coverage.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think if you play your zones that you normally play of anything, Campanile defense, you're going to be fine.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to be able to force Botanix into some holding onto the ball and to some rush decision making and ultimately probably making some mistakes.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you play your zones and the Jaguars do such a good job in zone defense because they have
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: They've worked on, you know, being able to get up close to the Latin description, playing stickier, right?
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: But when you talk about the spine of the defense, which the Broncos will like to attack.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: They are so keyed in on the coverage spacing.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: They rotate coverage post-snap the Jaguars do.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so there's a lot to confuse and opposing quarterback.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's going to be big here.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, you don't have to reinvent the wheel here.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think for the Jaguars defense to have a good game, you really don't.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that, again, they're going to want to attack your linebackers and your safeties.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how well that's gonna work out for them.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are playing its own zone coverage.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're in a very good spot with those players that they had now have there and they're deployment of them at linebacker and safety of the Jaguars.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, if you play physical, I mean, which there's no reason to believe they won't play physical.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: There's like a few things every week, I feel very confident about.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: the biggest one is the jag war is we'll be able to stop the run and Sean Peyton talked about this week they've got to run the ball more which you know good luck.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: I believe the jag war is we'll stop the run every time they step on the field.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I believe the jag war is we'll be able to pass the ball every time they step on the field and I believe they'll play physical every time they step on the field.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: Those are some things that I just I think that is like
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: core elements of this build, like with Liam Cohen's passing game design, with, again, the ability to get into different play calls at the line of scrimmage, with Trevor Lawrence's talent, the receiving talent, the way that Liam Cohen can scheme it up for the offensive line to have success, even against really good opponents.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: I see that, I see the run game, I see them playing physical.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think any of those things are going to
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: Um, be a problem for the Jaguars in this game.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Can't have more than a couple crippling mistakes.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, you're in a hostile environment.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's an exciting moment.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big game.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's a four clock game and Denver.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: If you, you know, when I say crippling mistakes, I'm talking about like, uh, drops, touchdowns, coverage busts,
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: allowing massive kick returns.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can have a couple of those, maybe two or three and still be okay, but you want to avoid those if you can, obviously.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's every week, but the Jaguar's are a team that I think can overcome those things more than a lot of other teams in the league, but it's still just, this is not the time to have that creep up.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Offensively, feature parker and written strange in the passing game, I mean, they have advantages, clear advantages against the Broncos, linebackers, and, you know, up to spine defenders, I think there's no question those two can be extremely, extremely efficient against this football team.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, break tackles.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: Break tackles.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos were like the worst tackling team and football last week.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's going to be the same this week, but you have a team that struggled to tackle last week versus basal tuton who was second in the NFL and forced missed tackles last week.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: So basal, do your thing.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: Break some tackles.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how how it's done.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's an explosive back, he's got a lot of power in his frame even though he's five nine two nine he's got a lot of strength and explosiveness, break tackles, get extra yards, that is demoralizing for defenses.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you keep doing that, you're going to be in a good spot, facial tootin.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: But the jack was in a good spot.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: Let it rip.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: Let it rip.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: Do not be afraid of Patrick's or Tan, do not be afraid of the Broncos, defense, do not be afraid of Jalen Waddle, like go play your game.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: Just have fun and be locked in, focus, let it rip, the jackwards of the better football team.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe y'all for great one.
