- 0:00Speaker 1: Jeff Boscher is here. As the Eagles looked to deal
- 0:03Speaker 1: AJ Brown. Instead, the Rams said, hold my beer, We're
- 0:09Speaker 1: gonna go out and one up you and they go
- 0:11Speaker 1: get Miles Garrett today, Jeff moocher. It's a massive move.
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Rams basically say, hey, listen, we're gonna go out
- 0:20Speaker 1: there and get the headlines today, regardless of AJ Brown
- 0:24Speaker 1: gets traded. I don't know that this is a stunning move,
- 0:27Speaker 1: but it certainly makes the Rams, in my mind, the favorite.
- 0:30Speaker 1: What about you?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yes, listen, I believe, and I'll die on this island
- 0:35Speaker 2: if I have to. The Rams were the best collection
- 0:40Speaker 2: of offense and defense last year, meaning I thought, I
- 0:42Speaker 2: think they were the best team if you take special
- 0:45Speaker 2: teams out of it. But obviously they lost twice to
- 0:48Speaker 2: Seattle because of special teams. There was the punt return
- 0:52Speaker 2: by Shaheed, there was a missed field goal in a game.
- 0:56Speaker 2: The Rams had no problems scoring a scoring points against
- 0:59Speaker 2: the Seawa. Just go look at the games they score.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They were high scoring games. And now you've taken you know.
- 1:05Speaker 2: They fired their special teams coordinator in the middle of
- 1:08Speaker 2: the year. They have a new one. I have a
- 1:09Speaker 2: feeling it'll be a point of emphasis this offseason in
- 1:12Speaker 2: coaching and then to a defense that could be leaky
- 1:16Speaker 2: at times. Not only do they add a Hall of
- 1:18Speaker 2: Fame player with the best non quarterback in the game
- 1:21Speaker 2: of Miles Garrett, but don't forget they traded for Trent
- 1:25Speaker 2: McDuffie earlier this offseason as well. They give the first
- 1:28Speaker 2: round pick to the Chiefs for him. So they are
- 1:31Speaker 2: absolutely loaded on both sides of the ball. And I
- 1:36Speaker 2: think that they are not only the team to beat
- 1:37Speaker 2: in the NFC, but I would make them the team
- 1:40Speaker 2: to beat in the NFL. Now that doesn't mean they're perfect,
- 1:43Speaker 2: but they got to keep Stafford healthy. They do have
- 1:45Speaker 2: some flaws on the you know, as far as talent
- 1:47Speaker 2: on the old line and everything, but they've overcome that.
- 1:49Speaker 2: They're a really, really good team and Mike they wanted
- 1:52Speaker 2: a j Brown, right, Don't be surprised if they try
- 1:57Speaker 2: to get Stefan Diggs in there on a one year deal.
- 1:59Speaker 2: There's still some pretty good wide receivers out there on
- 2:02Speaker 2: the market Keenan Allen, who can be functional number three
- 2:05Speaker 2: receivers in a great offense. Right, So they're aggressive and
- 2:09Speaker 2: you have to admire that any Eagles fan may hate it,
- 2:11Speaker 2: but you have to admire because this is what we
- 2:13Speaker 2: like about the Eagles is that they never leave a
- 2:15Speaker 2: stone unturned and they're aggressive.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Well, what did you think about what the Rams gave
- 2:20Speaker 1: up and what messaging it? Because there was some thought
- 2:23Speaker 1: that the Eagles did call and that they were interested
- 2:26Speaker 1: Jared versus a first round pick, a second round pick,
- 2:28Speaker 1: and a third round pick in three separate drafts. Does
- 2:31Speaker 1: this just say Philly just didn't have the ammunition or
- 2:35Speaker 1: what do you make of of what the Rams gave
- 2:37Speaker 1: up to Cleveland?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a lot to give up, But
- 2:42Speaker 2: when you're all in and you're going for it, then
- 2:44Speaker 2: it doesn't. It's not, I mean, because you have to
- 2:48Speaker 2: if you're leading the Rams, you don't. Of course, you
- 2:50Speaker 2: do risk scenario, right, you take everything into account. But
- 2:55Speaker 2: you got to think that the Rams are not going
- 2:59Speaker 2: to be picking very high in the draft next year,
- 3:01Speaker 2: you know, And I think it actually makes their selection
- 3:04Speaker 2: of Ty Simpson this year even smarter. Some people have said, well,
- 3:08Speaker 2: now you just ruin the chance to build around him
- 3:10Speaker 2: when Stafford's gone, And I say no, because you weren't
- 3:13Speaker 2: going to get that chance because you weren't gonna have
- 3:15Speaker 2: high picks in the next year or two. Anyway, you're
- 3:17Speaker 2: gonna be good. And the Rams are very very good
- 3:20Speaker 2: at hitting on Day two and Day three guys. That's
- 3:24Speaker 2: kind of why they are where they are right now.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So I think that when they do transition to ty Simpson,
- 3:29Speaker 2: they all still have a pretty good team around him
- 3:32Speaker 2: and plenty to work with.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Well, and you know, you mentioned ty Simpson, who they
- 3:36Speaker 1: drafted in the first round this year. This this move
- 3:39Speaker 1: is a signifies plus the McDuffie move, they're trying to
- 3:42Speaker 1: win the Super Bowl in twenty twenty six.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Absolutely, yep. But but I'm just saying it's in a
- 3:49Speaker 2: weird for a team to do that to then draft
- 3:50Speaker 2: a quarterback in the first round that's not gonna play.
- 3:53Speaker 2: But that's partially because they didn't think that they'd be
- 3:57Speaker 2: able to draft one.
- 3:58Speaker 1: So I think they, well, isn't this what they did
- 4:01Speaker 1: a couple of years ago? They just said the heck
- 4:03Speaker 1: with our first round picks, let's go for a super Bowl.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And they won a super Bowl and you were like, well,
- 4:08Speaker 1: they don't have any first round picks for years, they're
- 4:10Speaker 1: gonna be miserable. And they turned right around and here
- 4:13Speaker 1: they are again.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking at all the players that they got
- 4:16Speaker 2: outside of the first round who are key for them,
- 4:19Speaker 2: whether it's Quintin Lake, whether it's Kobe Jones, whether it's
- 4:22Speaker 2: a Byron Young. Right, I mean they Kyron Williams the
- 4:27Speaker 2: third rounder, all those tight ends that they have that
- 4:30Speaker 2: are good for them. I mean they've drafted really really well.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Brandon Fisk right, second.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Round or so, second round pick? Right?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you got to trust your process.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So does that say, like, what if the Eagles were
- 4:41Speaker 1: willing to give up a first round, a second round
- 4:43Speaker 1: and a third round pick. I guess that kind of
- 4:45Speaker 1: signifies that maybe Nolan Smith or Jalx Hunt was not
- 4:50Speaker 1: viewed as high as Jared Verse. I mean, would you
- 4:53Speaker 1: assume that the Eagles would have done a similar deal
- 4:55Speaker 1: like that?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Good question? It was a good question. Would they have
- 5:02Speaker 2: given up Jalen Carter?
- 5:04Speaker 1: Uh? Possibly a lot. There's a lot of thought that
- 5:06Speaker 1: that was the name that was being asked about. I
- 5:08Speaker 1: think Carter is probably better than Verse, and then versus
- 5:14Speaker 1: probably would you say, would the Eagles have been unwilling
- 5:17Speaker 1: to give up Jalx Hunting that deal?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Perhaps? Maybe it is you know, well, maybe it'll come out.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I haven't heard what the Eagles were offering or if
- 5:26Speaker 2: they even made like a true true offer anyway, you know,
- 5:30Speaker 2: there's I know that there were conversations, but I'm talking
- 5:32Speaker 2: about a true offer on the table of this, that
- 5:37Speaker 2: and the other.
- 5:38Speaker 1: All right, Well, I would have traded Jalx Hunt or
- 5:41Speaker 1: Nolan Smith and a first round and a second round
- 5:44Speaker 1: and a third round pick for Miles Garrett.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Now, I don't think there's the player on the roster
- 5:49Speaker 2: for the Eagles that I wouldn't including Jalen Carter, that
- 5:52Speaker 2: I wouldn't have traded for Miles Garrett.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Uh, yes, I probably. If you said you had to
- 5:58Speaker 1: trade Jaalen Jalen Jalen and you Carter a first round,
- 6:02Speaker 1: of second round, a third round, the same deal that
- 6:04Speaker 1: the Rams did, I would have done that deal. To me.
- 6:07Speaker 1: That puts them in another stratosphere past you yea right.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Carter's a really good player, and he might
- 6:12Speaker 2: eventually be the best defensive player in the NFL if
- 6:15Speaker 2: he stays healthy with the shoulders, if he stays mentally
- 6:18Speaker 2: in it. But where you know, Miles Garrett is a
- 6:20Speaker 2: freaking Hall of Famer. You know, Mount Rushmore Pastor. I mean,
- 6:25Speaker 2: you're talking about guys like Reggie White and straight. You're
- 6:27Speaker 2: not talking about might be like Jalen Carter or if
- 6:31Speaker 2: he lives up. He is that guy. And I don't
- 6:33Speaker 2: even think you see what he looks like. Yeah, just
- 6:36Speaker 2: because he's thirty, I don't think like all of a
- 6:37Speaker 2: sudden thirty one, thirty two, he's gonna stick.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Certain guys, certain guys kind of transcend and like Buck
- 6:45Speaker 1: the trends, he's the outlier. Yeah, you know, to me,
- 6:48Speaker 1: he doesn't hit thirty and just all of a sudden
- 6:50Speaker 1: the wheels fall off. He hit thirty and had twenty
- 6:53Speaker 1: three sacks.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I mean, if Brandon Graham and his pot
- 6:57Speaker 2: belly could play as well as he does.
- 7:00Speaker 1: At his age.
- 7:00Speaker 2: And there's no way that Miles Garrett is just falling
- 7:04Speaker 2: off a cliff the way he keeps himself in shape.
- 7:06Speaker 1: All right. Jeff Bosher Football of four. As we're having
- 7:09Speaker 1: this conversation, I haven't seen anything official in aj Brown,
- 7:13Speaker 1: but the compensation looks like a twenty twenty eight first
- 7:17Speaker 1: round pick, and that is it is that surprising?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Not really? You know, And I think that the Patriots
- 7:23Speaker 2: have played this well, just like the Eagles have. It's
- 7:28Speaker 2: not surprising to me because there's an there's a to
- 7:32Speaker 2: my knowledge, there's an absence of supply of demand, right,
- 7:37Speaker 2: there's not too many people getting in. And I've always
- 7:40Speaker 2: felt that people said the Eagles have the leverage, and
- 7:43Speaker 2: I've not believed it that way because even though you
- 7:47Speaker 2: would think that because the Browns really need to get
- 7:49Speaker 2: back to the I'm sorry, the Patriots really needed to
- 7:52Speaker 2: get back to a super Bowl and they didn't re
- 7:54Speaker 2: sign step Diggs and Romeo Dubbs is nice, but not
- 7:57Speaker 2: step Digs ry J.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Brown remember that.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Like, I think that there's not enough discussion of the
- 8:03Speaker 2: Eagles being in in this situation where they can't have
- 8:07Speaker 2: a J. Brown back as unhappy as he is. You
- 8:10Speaker 2: saw what happened in the playoffs, and his unhappiness has
- 8:14Speaker 2: grown year after year. So it's it was it would
- 8:18Speaker 2: have been a monumental risk on there end to try
- 8:20Speaker 2: to bring AJ Brett back and say, you know, we're
- 8:23Speaker 2: we're we're gonna make you play for us, and.
- 8:26Speaker 1: So great, what do you so? The fact that they
- 8:30Speaker 1: were only or you know, reportedly only able to get
- 8:32Speaker 1: a twenty twenty eight first round pick and you compare
- 8:35Speaker 1: it to the Jalen Wattle deal. Do you look at
- 8:37Speaker 1: that and scratch your head or say no that that
- 8:39Speaker 1: adds up.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Wattle's a lot younger, and not a lot like three
- 8:46Speaker 2: years younger, is he not?
- 8:49Speaker 1: Let me pull that up.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I think in wide receiver years anything two or two
- 8:53Speaker 2: or more? Years?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Uh?
- 8:55Speaker 2: Make wrong?
- 8:57Speaker 1: Wattle is twenty seven.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and Brown's gonna be thirty this year, is he not?
- 9:02Speaker 1: J Brown is currently twenty eight.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry, He'll be twenty nine this year, though,
- 9:08Speaker 2: I find Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 1: There will be twenty nine in June. Yeah, and Wattle
- 9:13Speaker 1: will turn twenty eight in November. So they're like a
- 9:15Speaker 1: year oka a year.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And a half. But I also think Denver did overpay
- 9:20Speaker 2: a little bit, by the way, But that's because they
- 9:22Speaker 2: were they were they felt that they were that guy
- 9:26Speaker 2: away from from getting back to the super.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Bowl, right, That's the thing is, you know, And but
- 9:32Speaker 1: even like the one and a half, you know, aj
- 9:34Speaker 1: is a year and a half or so older, a
- 9:36Speaker 1: little bit more than a year older than him, but
- 9:38Speaker 1: he has been the better player, There's no question about that.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Do you agree with that? Yeah?
- 9:42Speaker 2: For sure.
- 9:42Speaker 1: So for them to get multiple first round picks for him.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Don't do you find that to be a little disheartening
- 9:50Speaker 1: or there just wasn't wasn't a lot out there for age?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure that how he would have loved more.
- 9:57Speaker 2: And you know, it would be great if there were
- 9:59Speaker 2: teams lining up to give up multiple first round picks
- 10:02Speaker 2: for AJ Brown, But that doesn't appear to be the case.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So you got to get what you can, Yeah, you know,
- 10:08Speaker 2: And I meant to add not just the age, but
- 10:10Speaker 2: like obviously AJ Brown has had some knee questions, and
- 10:15Speaker 2: obviously when you're coming from a place where you created
- 10:18Speaker 2: an environment where you weren't particularly happy despite all the
- 10:21Speaker 2: winning and the Super Bowls and winning a super Bowl,
- 10:24Speaker 2: there's that that matters, you know. Some teams get scared
- 10:27Speaker 2: by that stuff, rightfully.
- 10:29Speaker 1: So today is the day officially that he can be
- 10:33Speaker 1: traded aj For everybody who's been hearing this, Jeff over time,
- 10:38Speaker 1: why is today significant?
- 10:42Speaker 2: So today is June first. Today is the deadline where
- 10:46Speaker 2: when you move a player under contract after this date
- 10:51Speaker 2: and he has significant money in pro ration, signing bonus
- 10:55Speaker 2: money usually right ordinarily if it's before June first, than
- 11:00Speaker 2: all that money that you owe someone that you've already
- 11:02Speaker 2: paid out drains into your salary cap that year after
- 11:07Speaker 2: June first, only the money that year drains your salary
- 11:12Speaker 2: takes a dead hit on and then you take the
- 11:14Speaker 2: rest of it the following year. So next year the
- 11:18Speaker 2: Eagles will still have dead money. They'll to absorb the
- 11:21Speaker 2: rest of the dead cap from aj Brown's contract, But
- 11:24Speaker 2: then after that they will save a lot more money.
- 11:28Speaker 2: And even next year, even though they're taking a dead cap,
- 11:31Speaker 2: they're gonna save a lot of money because they're not gonna
- 11:32Speaker 2: owe him nearly as much as if he had been on.
- 11:35Speaker 1: The roster right. So getting rid of him June first
- 11:39Speaker 1: allows him to kind of spread that out over two
- 11:42Speaker 1: years instead of taking the dead cap all at one
- 11:45Speaker 1: time if they would have traded him on Draft night.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Correct.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yes, So the Eagles have known this. They have been
- 11:55Speaker 1: building up towards this, you know. But now that the
- 11:58Speaker 1: Rams do what they do, the Eagles have to now
- 12:02Speaker 1: think about improving themselves in other areas.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Nah, they don't have to. They're the Eagles, honestly, and
- 12:08Speaker 2: I don't think that they need to be arrogant. That's
- 12:10Speaker 2: just what I say is you have a process it's
- 12:13Speaker 2: worked for you, you stick to it. At the end
- 12:16Speaker 2: of the day. When we all wake up next week
- 12:18Speaker 2: on Monday, right or even after the aj Brown trade,
- 12:21Speaker 2: you're gonna look at the Eagles roster and you're gonna
- 12:23Speaker 2: still say, because of how they do business, how they draft,
- 12:27Speaker 2: how they manipulate the salary cap, they're going to have
- 12:31Speaker 2: equal or more talent on their doesn't mean they're gonna
- 12:35Speaker 2: win every game, doesn't mean on the Super Bowl, but
- 12:37Speaker 2: their roster will be as talented as mostly every team
- 12:41Speaker 2: in the NFL.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Right, Okay, I asked that question only because and I
- 12:45Speaker 1: don't know, uh, there was some reporting Mary Kay Cabot
- 12:48Speaker 1: out in Cleveland that the Eagles were one of the
- 12:50Speaker 1: teams that called about Miles Garrett. Okay, due diligence as
- 12:54Speaker 1: always fine, but you don't get him the rams due
- 12:58Speaker 1: do you then look for more edge rushing help.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I mean, I think they're already in I don't want
- 13:06Speaker 2: to call it a bind, right, but we know that
- 13:08Speaker 2: Vic Fangio typically likes to play three pass rushers. They
- 13:12Speaker 2: have three in Jonathan Garnard. They have three in Gernard,
- 13:16Speaker 2: in Jelex Hunt and Nolan Smith. They also signed Arnold Ebikeetty,
- 13:20Speaker 2: who you thought was gonna be a part of the
- 13:23Speaker 2: pass rush. Now maybe Vic will expand that because he
- 13:26Speaker 2: likes what he sees. I don't know. Maybe Ebiketty will
- 13:28Speaker 2: turn into next this year's version of Azizo Jalai or
- 13:32Speaker 2: Josh Rusche. I don't know. That remains to be seen, Okay,
- 13:35Speaker 2: But my point is they already have got four guys,
- 13:37Speaker 2: and what if Brandon Graham wants to come back. If
- 13:41Speaker 2: he wants to come back, they're going to allow him.
- 13:43Speaker 2: They're going to say, welcome back, Brandon, we will play you.
- 13:46Speaker 2: So I don't think edge defender is a position that
- 13:50Speaker 2: they're short on talent or bodies or they have to
- 13:54Speaker 2: go add a Hall of Famer just because another team
- 13:57Speaker 2: that's good added a Hall of Famer. At the end
- 13:59Speaker 2: of the day, there's twenty two you know, eleven offense,
- 14:01Speaker 2: eleven defense, and you know, the Rams may have really
- 14:04Speaker 2: improved their defense, and they may have a good offense.
- 14:07Speaker 2: The Eagles have a really good defense too. I mean
- 14:10Speaker 2: they've got there. They got great corners, right, they have
- 14:13Speaker 2: good edge rushers, they have great the best collection of
- 14:15Speaker 2: DT's probably in the league. So I don't think that
- 14:18Speaker 2: they have to play a cat and mouse game of
- 14:20Speaker 2: one upping just because the Rams got a guy.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Okay, Josh Sweat, would you have any interest there?
- 14:25Speaker 2: That's not happening. He ain't coming back. Or who are
- 14:28Speaker 2: you playing them over?
- 14:30Speaker 1: But you just mentioned they like three? Is he better
- 14:33Speaker 1: than Ebakeetty? Who?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Well, those guys are four, right, they got their three?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Who are you playing them over? Is he gonna be
- 14:42Speaker 2: happy playing third fiddle like he wanted Arizona? Is he
- 14:46Speaker 2: gonna be happy coming to the Eagles, being behind Jonathan Gernard,
- 14:50Speaker 2: being behind Nolan Smith, being behind Jaelex Hunt that's it?
- 14:54Speaker 1: You well, you know that's the interesting one. What do
- 14:56Speaker 1: they think of Nolan Smith?
- 14:57Speaker 2: Right?
- 14:57Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like the Nolan Smith thing
- 15:00Speaker 1: is definitely are they know because you would assume it's
- 15:03Speaker 1: Hunting Grenard your top two? Right? Yeah? And then Nolan
- 15:07Speaker 1: is kind of that third like edge guy.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, or I think right now, don't look at it
- 15:13Speaker 2: in terms of who starts, but who plays more snaps?
- 15:15Speaker 2: Right Knowlan but might be on the field more on
- 15:18Speaker 2: first and second down because he's a really good run defender.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But when they want to run, when I want to
- 15:24Speaker 2: rush the passer, and it's usually a four man rush
- 15:28Speaker 2: with Vic because he doesn't blitz much. It's gonna be Grenard,
- 15:31Speaker 2: it's gonna be Jelex Hunt, it's gonna be Jalen Carter.
- 15:35Speaker 2: And maybe they can figure out a way to move
- 15:37Speaker 2: Hunt inside a little bit and get Smith on the edge.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I think that you're gonna see John Campbell in sim pressures,
- 15:44Speaker 2: blitzing from the blitzing from an off ball. I'm not
- 15:47Speaker 2: an edge.
- 15:48Speaker 1: He's not a question that. The question that I wanted
- 15:51Speaker 1: to follow up with there was do the Eagles see
- 15:55Speaker 1: Hunt as a legit number one or two? Or would
- 15:58Speaker 1: they rather him be the third guy?
- 16:00Speaker 2: I mean, they listen. You can only go by what
- 16:03Speaker 2: they say and what they do. They drafted him in
- 16:06Speaker 2: the third round. They got him on the field way
- 16:08Speaker 2: earlier theybody expected two years ago, and helped him win
- 16:11Speaker 2: a Super Bowl. Last year he played, he went from
- 16:14Speaker 2: like twenty eight snaps to percent I mean twenty percent
- 16:17Speaker 2: to like sixty three percent of the snaps okay, and
- 16:20Speaker 2: then he led the team in sacks and interceptions. He
- 16:23Speaker 2: is an athletic freak of nature. He has probably not
- 16:26Speaker 2: even scratched the surface of what he can be. Vic
- 16:28Speaker 2: Fangio speaks highly of him, which is always like half
- 16:31Speaker 2: the battle right there. You know, if he if he regresses,
- 16:36Speaker 2: nobody could see it coming, right I mean, and again
- 16:39Speaker 2: they have other guys that can step into that category.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But he's a really good pass rusher, and he's and
- 16:45Speaker 2: he fits the defense well, and we see that when
- 16:48Speaker 2: he drops back he can pick the ball off and
- 16:50Speaker 2: make plays. I think he's only coming into his own
- 16:53Speaker 2: and part of that whole June first thing, Mike, is
- 16:55Speaker 2: that not taking the huge cap hut cap hit now
- 17:00Speaker 2: means you can work on some extensions for Jailen Carter
- 17:04Speaker 2: Morojomo if he's willing to accept the team friendly one.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And then by this time next year you might be
- 17:09Speaker 2: talking You're talking about Quinya, Mitchell, Cooper de Jean and
- 17:12Speaker 2: Jelex Hunt.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Speaking of this time, are you surprised that in this
- 17:16Speaker 1: conversation that aj Brown is not a member of the
- 17:18Speaker 1: New England Patriots.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yet I do wonder like did the NFL, Hey, guys,
- 17:23Speaker 2: in light of recent events, can you just wait till tomorrow,
- 17:27Speaker 2: you know, so we can get a double headline type
- 17:29Speaker 2: instead of sharing the headline.
- 17:31Speaker 1: We want two days of conversation in the middle of June.
- 17:35Speaker 1: This June first day was a lot more enticely than
- 17:38Speaker 1: we thought. Right over the last couple of years, I
- 17:40Speaker 1: never remember a day like this where you know, the
- 17:43Speaker 1: best pass rusher in the league gets traded in one
- 17:45Speaker 1: of the top ten wide receivers potentially on the same day.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Well, who would have thought that the June first deadline
- 17:52Speaker 2: would have more high level players trading jerseys than the
- 17:57Speaker 2: free agency the beginning of free agency. If you go
- 18:00Speaker 2: look back at the beginning of free agency, the guys
- 18:02Speaker 2: who were like top five available free agents were considered
- 18:05Speaker 2: like Jill and Phillips, Malik Willis, Tyler Lindenbaum, Alec Pearce,
- 18:10Speaker 2: Trey Hendrickson. I mean, those are some good names, but
- 18:13Speaker 2: are those names aj Brown and Miles Garrett Absolutely not.
- 18:17Speaker 1: No, the Garrett first, well, yeah, and Jaredfirs and the
- 18:21Speaker 1: Garrett thing. It was kind of like, you know, and
- 18:24Speaker 1: then the connecting of the dots of like the Eagles
- 18:27Speaker 1: could get the draft pick in twenty twenty eight, which
- 18:30Speaker 1: I'm not thrilled about.
- 18:31Speaker 2: By the way. Okay, he just went down.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Oh so at four nineteen, when I asked that question,
- 18:38Speaker 1: it did not go down and at four nineteen and
- 18:40Speaker 1: thirty seconds it happened.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Now was official a twenty twenty eight first round pick,
- 18:45Speaker 2: and yes, it's to the Patriots. And they're getting also
- 18:49Speaker 2: a twenty twenty seven fifth round pick that is the
- 18:52Speaker 2: better whichever one is the best of two New England's
- 18:55Speaker 2: two fifth round picks. So there you go. They got
- 18:58Speaker 2: more than a first round pick, like they got a
- 18:59Speaker 2: fifth round also.
- 19:00Speaker 1: They got a first round pick in twenty twenty eight
- 19:04Speaker 1: and a fifth round pick when twenty seven, twenty twenty seven.
- 19:08Speaker 1: All right, there you go. So AJ Brown is officially
- 19:12Speaker 1: a member of the New England Patriots. Yes, so are
- 19:16Speaker 1: you surprised at for twenty one he's a member of
- 19:18Speaker 1: the New England Patriots.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I am not surprised, and I feel very very sorry
- 19:22Speaker 2: for the very I'll probably like it's five percent now
- 19:26Speaker 2: of the Eagle fan base, but there's definitely some people
- 19:28Speaker 2: who have left comments on Inside the Birds YouTube podcast
- 19:32Speaker 2: that agent that we are this is a media created story.
- 19:36Speaker 2: It's not happening. AJ Brown is not getting traded. I
- 19:40Speaker 2: feel sorry for the people who were wearing the tinfoil
- 19:43Speaker 2: at on this.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Well, I could tell you. At four twenty one, as
- 19:47Speaker 1: this news breaks that AJ Brown has been traded, the
- 19:51Speaker 1: amount of viewers we have for football of four is
- 19:53Speaker 1: one of the highest of all time currently watching on
- 19:57Speaker 1: YouTube and I imagine listing it on the radio as well.
- 20:00Speaker 2: But I have a few things if you want to
- 20:02Speaker 2: reask all those questions.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Well we can go back and uh well, I mean
- 20:07Speaker 1: it's been pretty high the whole time, but right about
- 20:10Speaker 1: now it has hit a little spike number for the
- 20:13Speaker 1: viewership there on x and YouTube football at four you
- 20:17Speaker 1: can always check out right here on the sports Bash.
- 20:20Speaker 1: All right, A J. Brown has been traded and only
- 20:23Speaker 1: to be one up by Miles Garrett going to the Rams,
- 20:25Speaker 1: which to me is a bigger deal.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that is a I would agree with you. That
- 20:29Speaker 2: is a bigger deal.
- 20:30Speaker 1: All right, good stuff, all right, Jeff Bosher's back on
- 20:34Speaker 1: Wednesday and we'll talk more about it. Thanks man, all right,
- 20:37Speaker 1: you got it. All right, there's Mosch and the trade
- 20:40Speaker 1: is official. AJ Brown for a first round pick and
- 20:45Speaker 1: a fifth round pick. The first round pick is in
- 20:49Speaker 1: twenty twenty eight and a fifth round pick is in
- 20:53Speaker 1: twenty twenty seven. After months and months and months of speculation, A. J.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Brown has been traded. There you go.
