  Speaker 1: Obad was the father of Jesse. Jesse was the father

  Speaker 1: of David. You know, my Total Woman's Summit Bible study

  Speaker 1: group has been studying the Book of Ruth. And if

  Speaker 1: you've read Naomi's story in the Book of Ruth, you

  Speaker 1: know her life was full of hardships, full of heartbreak. First,

  Speaker 1: the severe famine calls her and her husband and two
• 0:40
  Speaker 1: sons to leave Bethlehem and moved to Moab. Then her
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: husband died, which was followed ten years later by the
• 0:48
  Speaker 1: death of both of her sons. Well. She and her
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: daughter in law's Ruth and Orprah, they were heading out
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: and then she painted this grim picture for him. Orpah said,

  Speaker 1: you know what, She told him, go back to your people.

  Speaker 1: Orpah was like, you know what, You're right. She hugged

  Speaker 1: her and say goodbye, But Ruth was like, I ain't

  Speaker 1: going nowhere. I'm going with Hugh. So Ruth moved back

  Speaker 1: to Bethlehem along with Naomi in poverty, barely surviving, and

  Speaker 1: then one day Ruth bed a man named Boaz. They

  Speaker 1: fell in love and they got married. A son was

  Speaker 1: born named Obed, who was the father of Jesse, who

  Speaker 1: was the father of David. And I know if someone

  Speaker 1: had said to Naomi during her season of heartbreaks that

  Speaker 1: her losses were not random and that God was working

  Speaker 1: out his plan for her life and it was all

  Speaker 1: going to turn around and work out for her good,

  Speaker 1: she would have thought, ain't no, what is gonna happen? Oh?

  Speaker 1: But God is sofeern He can do what he wants to,

  Speaker 1: when he wants to, how he wants to. And he

  Speaker 1: had a restoration planned for Naomi for Ruth. He had

  Speaker 1: a greater life than Ruth or Naomi ever even imagined

  Speaker 1: in store. If Ruth, the widowed Morbide had not insisted

  Speaker 1: on following her widowed mother in law Naoemi to Bethlehem

  Speaker 1: despite the grave picture she painted, think about it. She

  Speaker 1: told him, go back to your people. My situation too tough.

  Speaker 1: You don't want to handle this. But no, Ruth said,

  Speaker 1: be my God. By God's grace, Ruth insisted on going

  Speaker 1: never would have changed, y'all. They went from poverty and

  Speaker 1: lack to abundance, overflow, joy and restoration. See God decided

  Speaker 1: ahead of time that David, the greatest King who ever lived,

  Speaker 1: would come out of this family line. I want you

  Speaker 1: to be encouraged that God can bring great joy even
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: out of heartbreak. Even the heartbreak works out for your
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: good Father. Thank you that you know best when it

  Speaker 1: comes to the difficulties that come into our lives. Thank
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: you that your sovereign plans are always so much more
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: fulfilling and bigger than our plans. God, we declare that
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: you are in control, and we believe that something big
• 3:27
  Speaker 1: is coming our way in Jesus name. Hey, now that's
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: your work for today. Take it applied to your everyday life,

  Speaker 1: and you continue to be encouraged and inspired. It's your
