- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, for and welcome back to Bible Tract echoes today, we're going to hear the last installment of a message I preached to my home church titled in the beginning, God, actually on this particular Sunday morning when I preached this message.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: We were actively working at updating our church directory and we passed out connection cards, all of the members and asked them to put their updated addresses and phone numbers and things like that.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to hear me reference that here in just a moment as the next voice you will hear is my voice.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: Preaching this message from not that long ago, this message is titled in the beginning God where deciding we are developing a
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: We are discerning what the Bible tells us about what we are supposed to do with the knowledge that God owns us listen now.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: He owns just because he created us.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: He purchased us.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: He sustains us.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: Okay So I've given the who I've given the what?
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: I've given the why?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: So how do we react?
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: What do we do about it?
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: I For simple thoughts and we're gonna end
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: First thing you should do in the beginning of God.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: What should you do with that knowledge?
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: First, you should receive Him.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: Receive His grace.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: John 1, 12, but as many as receive Him to them, gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: Romans 10, 9, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thy heart, that God would raise him from the dead.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Thou shalt be saved.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: Receive His grace.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Sing Corinthians six, two says, be holding now as the accepted time, be holding now as a day of salvation.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: So think about that for just a moment.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: There is a time sensitivity to you receiving this grace or not.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, probably everyone in here, you got one of those little pieces of paper.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: I asked you to fill out that connect card.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: What did it ask in there?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Salvation experience.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: How did you get saved?
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: It might be that you had to falsify that report.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: Cause you didn't want to turn it in empty.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what you wrote down is not true, where you're severely doubting it.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: And you don't know that you have actually accepted Christ as your Savior.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, it doesn't matter what went on that card, what matters is what is in the Lamb's book of life.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: So if you have never received that grace, the Bible says now is the extended time.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: But what now is the day of salvation.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: OK, if he's the owner, who decides when it's
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: If you had a restaurant, if you had a job, who's the one that decides when we're all gonna go home?
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: The owner does.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, the owner said, you're going home today.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: Would your home be in hell?
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: Or would it be in heaven?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: What do we do with this knowledge?
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: In the beginning, God got to receive his grace.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Bible says, behold, I stand at the door and knock.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: If any man here in my voice and open the door, I will come into him.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: What do we do?
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: We reverence his greatness.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Gotta receive his grace, reverence his greatness.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: First Corinthians 6, 20, for a year, bought with a price, therefore glorified God in your body and in your spirit, which are gods.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: Revelation chapter 4 again, those 4 and 20 elders said holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know, all that Solomon saw and did at the conclusion of Ecclesiastes, when he's kind of pouring out his heart, he says this at the very end, he says Ecclesiastes 1213, let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter, fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: Psalm 95, 6, O come, let us worship and bow down.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: In the beginning, God, what do we do?
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: Gotta receive His grace.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: Reference, His greatness.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: rely on his goodness.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I love it.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's the song, learning to lean.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Consider the lilies.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: You got to rely on his goodness.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: Proverbs 3, trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding and all thy ways acknowledge him.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: And he shall direct thy paths.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Go to Jeremiah 33.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is the last scripture.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'll have you turn to Jeremiah 33.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Probably you'll be able to quote it with me.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Go to Jeremiah 33.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: Give you a very quick outline and side of an outline here.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's here in my 33, the Bible says this, call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great mighty things which thou noest not.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: If you break that verse down, you have the word call.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's a petition.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad for the fact that James chapter five says the effectual fervent prayer, a righteous man, a veileth much.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Deal Moody said, some people think that God is not like to be troubled with our constant coming and asking.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: The way to trouble God is by not coming at all.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Call, he says, unto me, there's presence.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Aren't you glad for the fact that he said, I will never leave the
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Man said, trust in yourself and you're doomed to disappointment, trust in money and you may have it taken from you, but trust in God and you are never to be confounded in time or eternity.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Call, petition, unto me, His presence, He then gives you and everlasting promise, and I will answer thee, Matthew 7-7, ask and shall be given you seeking, shall find, knock and shall be open unto you.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Another preacher, man, said, God never made a promise to good to be true.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: Potition, call, unto me, He promises presence.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I will answer thee.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: There is the promise, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: There is His provision.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: The same God that can open up the windows of heaven is listening for your call.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: I've said it before.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's never had to put me on hold because he was already talking to you.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: Call unto me.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: What is that?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: What is that?
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's reliance on his goodness.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: Lastly, this, what do we do?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: Who owns everything God does?
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: What does he own?
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: He owns everything.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, creation, calvary, conquest, his care.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: So what do we do with that?
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: How do we apply to our life?
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we need to reverence him, we need to receive him, we need to rely, but we also need to represent him.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Give you a different word, maybe instead, reflect.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know the moon makes no light of its own, right?
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: What does this light come from?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: the sun.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: So this is like third grade stuff for the Micah.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: When is the only time that the moon does not shine at night?
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: When the world gets in the way?
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: When's the only time that a Christian
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: when the world gets in the way.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: My question is, are you a waxing or a waning Christian today?
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: Has your light gotten dimmer and dimmer and dimmer?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: And are you on a schedule like the moon is?
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: Where sometimes I'm here today, brother, my cup, but the best you're gonna get from me is about three and a half services a month.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's all you can get.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's all you can expect from me.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, if the world well and truly got out of the way,
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: So what is it in the world that's keeping you?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: What is that besetting sin that, it's cyclical, it's every once in a while, but you can't truly reflect the light of his goodness, his grace, his greatness, because the world keeps getting in the way.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Who owns you?
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: God does in the beginning, God.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: The Bible tells us,
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: that are light, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your father, which is in heaven.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Romans 8, we're not gonna read all of it, but Paul asks, who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: And we talk about tribulation, distress, persecution.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: For I am persuaded to be a deaf, no more life, right?
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: Prints of Halle's power, height, depth, no more.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: Any other thing, she'll be able to separate us from the love of God.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: So you cannot separate from the love of God.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: You are plugged in, whether you want, you've been vacuuming.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: maybe vacuum the church before.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: And if you get good enough, you can treat that cord because wireless vacuums in a church to vacuum a church or almost useless because a battery goes out half way through the auditorium.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you gotta have a wire and commercial vacuum.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: And there you are, I've done this before, 12 years old, my dad's there counting money or something like that and I'm trying to, trying to vacuum.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: And if you get good enough, you can treat that little cord like a whip.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: And as you get down the end of the hallway, you just give it a little flick and it goes, whoop, and then unplugs itself from down there.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: Cause I'm so lazy, I don't want to walk down there and unplug it.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so I bend all the little prongs up, you know what I'm talking about.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: I whip it out of the wall and I pull it over here and I plug it in so I can keep going, right?
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: But have you ever been a situation where the friction is such, you just can't get this stupid thing unplugged from the wall?
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: And you got to walk 25 feet to go and plug this vacuum, right?
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: You can't unplug from the goodness and grace and love of God.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: So why don't you just start living like that and start reflecting it and showing it to other people?
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing can separate you, but we shut ourselves down and don't reflect it to others.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: Romans chapter 11 36, I told you I wouldn't have you turn anywhere else in your stay there in Jeremiah.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: Romans 11 36 says this, for of him and through him,
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: And to him are all things to whom big glory, forever, amen.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know what Romans 1 through 11 is all about?
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's all about your doctrine.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's all about correcting some things.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know what Romans 12 through 16 is all about?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: That was the last verse of Romans 11, the closing of it.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: Here's all this doctrine and it's all about him.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know how Romans 12 starts?
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be seat you there for a brethren by the mercies of God.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: That you present your body's living sacrifice, wholly acceptable under God, which is your reasonable service.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God for I say, for the grace given unto me to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: then he ought to think.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know how we start thinking of ourselves more highly?
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Because we forget the ownership structure.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know what pride is?
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Pride is just a simple ownership dispute between you and the God of all eternity.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: So who owns you?
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Who owns the church?
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Who owns?
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: your problems.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you might have created those problems, but guess what?
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's something that wants to help you with them.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: And Archie Gladne gave us this book that can solve every human problem.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, I thank you for your listenership today and all this week.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'd encourage you now that we've established.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: Who owns everything?
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's God, of course.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: What he owns?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: We've established why he owns us and what we should do about him.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: I pray that maybe we'll make a decision that would further and better our lives.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: Have a great day for his glory.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk soon.
