- 1:52because I'm using a different device to do this on.
- 1:55I noticed from the last couple of podcasts that, you know,
- 2:03things were looking kind of kind of iffy, in terms of the
- 2:10Quality. There was a lot of like I was
- 2:13talking look like you look like one of those guys have ever seen
- 2:16those old like, spaghetti westerns or Kung Fu theater type
- 2:21films, where there's a lot of bad dubbing And it made me think
- 2:26of that when I saw it because I was talking like the the if you
- 2:33were watching the podcast, you would see my mouth moving.
- 2:37And I wasn't talking and it was the resolution was poor.
- 2:41I think it has to do with the the old laptop that I'm on.
- 2:47Usually. So I chose an alternative device
- 2:50and this looks and feels a whole lot better.
- 2:53I hope you guys like it, as a matter of fact, it's It's feels
- 2:59like there's more to be seen here.
- 3:02You guys got my my incense burner and view.
- 3:06You got my scotch in View and you got my fancy, you know, I
- 3:11don't know how much it is. Fifteen dollar folding table
- 3:14from from Walmart or wherever it's been acquired from.
- 3:18So, anyway, We're going to run with this for this week's
- 3:25episode and probably for the foreseeable future.
- 3:28I like how we've got everything else here lined up.

- 6:41chats or you know the Live premiere as it has it happens on
- 6:44YouTube because I will be driving Probably be somewhere in
- 6:50East Tennessee by the time. This podcast there's a next week
- 6:55will sure to have. I'm sure we're going to have a
- 6:57lot of great stories to retell in the coming weeks.
- 7:03Very excited to be out there and participate in the things that
- 7:07were going to be doing. It's going to be a wonderful
- 7:09time. Patrick's first time course

- 7:34weekend of my birthday. It's going to be an awesome
- 7:36birthday celebration, amongst other things.
- 7:38So it's call to pop Olufsen, few Overture workshop and the family
- 7:43of goofer who's All right. So, what are you guys here for
- 7:50today for this week? What are we here for?
- 7:53Well, let me show you because this again, is a Viewer request.
- 8:02So Here we have. It's a Connor who requests to
- 8:08have the topic of a podcast. I had asked this on the Facebook
- 8:12platform some weeks ago, a lot of you is did chime in which I
- 8:15appreciate if you have any ideas for a future episode you can
- 8:20write them in or call in and let me know but Connors request is
- 8:24to have an episode about tips for the not.
- 8:27So new Heathen someone who is not new but not a 10.
- 8:34Year veteran or into it. He says he knows that some
- 8:39people like himself included that have had struggles.
- 8:45When the quote-unquote honeymoon phase wears off, So thank you,
- 8:50Connor for the for the suggested topic and I think it's great
- 8:55because a lot of I notice a lot of what I've been doing over the
- 8:59years. Have have catered and probably
- 9:01more to the newer heathens. Although I do talk a bit about
- 9:04stuff that is I wouldn't say necessarily Advanced even re,
- 9:08but it definitely goes past the, you know, I'm just coming coming
- 9:14into this. Where do I start sort of thing?
- 9:17Because like he says, you know, we become, Maybe settled and
- 9:21comfortable with, with our day-to-day practices, some of
- 9:26the things that we do tend to get us to comfy and we lose
- 9:32sight or we lose focus on the bigger picture.
- 9:37You know things to kind of keep those fires Ablaze or keep those
- 9:42Embers. Hot might be another good way to
- 9:45put it. I think it's a great topic.
- 9:47I think it's a good thing too. For all of us to be reminded of
- 9:51some of us, not so new heathens. I myself have been practicing my
- 9:57you know Keith and Marie for once they going on. coming up
- 10:03this this coming year will be you know, eight years in, you
- 10:07know, so I'm Not quite the season Heathen.
- 10:11I wouldn't call myself a seasoned Heathen.
- 10:14I'm, and, you know, I don't think that I ever will, to be
- 10:18honest with you. I've Kind of found myself
- 10:24fitting into the category of always the student.
- 10:26Never the master, you know, I do learn as much as I can and I
- 10:32like to share what I learned, you know, on platforms like this
- 10:36with people. But to me it's more of a sharing
- 10:39of knowledge. It's not, it's not
- 10:41instructional, you know, I guess you could take it as such if you
- 10:46want to, you know, you can look at it as as a being taught if
- 10:50you're if you're new or if you're learning yourself and
- 10:54you're learning new things, it's like he's teaching me this.
- 10:56He's teaching me that. I don't, I don't, you know,
- 10:58personally see my Off in that way.
- 11:03But good. Good question Connor.
- 11:04So you know tips on things to or tips for the not.
- 11:09So new healing, how do we keep those those fires Ablaze and
- 11:13keep those coals stoked, you know, so I got to thinking about
- 11:18it and I've been, I've been thinking about it and this is
- 11:20something that I always It's on my mind a lot, you know, because
- 11:26I've had conversations with people over the years even
- 11:30pretty recently where they ask that, you know, like I feel like
- 11:35I'm kind of disconnected from my, from My Religion, from my
- 11:41spirituality. What can I do to rekindle that
- 11:46feeling of connection? That feeling that I had Mike,
- 11:50you know, Connor says, you know, when you first start and you're
- 11:53in that kind of honeymoon, phase when everything is so exciting,
- 11:55everything is new and you know, refreshing and you know your I
- 12:01don't know doing your first ritual or you're attending your
- 12:05first bloats or you're assembling your first alter or
- 12:11whatever the case may be. You know, how do I find the
- 12:16things too? Breathe new life for breathe
- 12:19that kind of life back into my practices now.
- 12:23And so I got to thinking, I got, I do, I get to thinking about
- 12:28this on a somewhat regular basis, but I don't think about
- 12:30it so much as I am. Just doing things that keep
- 12:35keeps things alive and keeps things fresh.
- 12:39You know, when we first come into anything whether it's you
- 12:42know, will use Heathen realize that as the as the example,
- 12:47right? We first come into heat, Andre
- 12:49it's new to us, right? We were where we saw something.
- 12:51We felt something that we hadn't felt or seen and experienced
- 12:56before. So the interest that we have in
- 13:01it is like we're eager where fresh it's again that that
- 13:04honeymoon phase of new love for you know, young loves sort of
- 13:08thing. And so so everything is
- 13:09exciting. Everything is exhilarating.
- 13:13You know, we're learning so much.
- 13:14We're doing so many things and it keeps our interest.
- 13:17And then over time, we it drops down a bit from the repetition
- 13:23of it. Whatever you get comfortable,
- 13:24you get complacent. So, one thing I did want to
- 13:29mention that I thought of anyway, is that, I don't think
- 13:32what we need to do as not-so-new heathens, right?
- 13:36People that have been doing this for at least some time, but that
- 13:38may feel a little bit disconnected.
- 13:40I don't think that what we should try to do is relive the
- 13:45past. You know what I mean?
- 13:49Because the past is the past and that's what got us to where we
- 13:52are here in the present, but I understand that you can learn
- 13:56from the past, just the same way as we do.
- 13:58Now in Heathen, are in many different forms of paganism as
- 14:02you are using the past to help shape the present and then what
- 14:06we do now, shapes the future, you know, so we're looking back.
- 14:13In time, we're looking back at events, we're looking almost in
- 14:19a reflection of the past to see what was what was it that made
- 14:23this the thing back then and how do we recreate it and do it now?
- 14:29So it's not so much that we want to go back and be that new.
- 14:32He then again we just want to feel that sort of excitement or
- 14:36that refreshment that exhilaration you know and thing
- 14:39that would do that now or us is not going to be the same thing
- 14:44that did it for us then you know because then we were You know,
- 14:50we didn't know about the gods or we didn't know about the sub, we
- 14:53didn't have, we hadn't read the sagas.
- 14:54We didn't learn some of the World Views that accompany this
- 14:59religious, and practice and folkway.
- 15:02So learning about those things then is the thing that sparked
- 15:05that fire within us, we, you know, going back to that it's we
- 15:10need to recreate that feeling. And so, how do we do that?
- 15:14So there's some things I'm going to talk about that have helped
- 15:17me because I Felt it. I know, you know, none of us.
- 15:20I think are exempt from that feeling of of a disconnect, you
- 15:24know. Wow.
- 15:24You know, I'm I'm feeling a bit down or I'm feeling a bit
- 15:28depressed or whatever and and you know, I don't feel as
- 15:31connected to the gods as I once have or I don't feel as
- 15:34connected to my ancestors as I once have I just don't feel as
- 15:37connected period. You know, I feel like I'm
- 15:41disconnected from things. So, some of the things that have
- 15:46helped me. You know, over the years, you
- 15:50hear different people say different things and you know,
- 15:52this is one of those times where I'm going to say what works for
- 15:55me may not work for you and when work for them may not work for
- 15:58me and so on so forth, right? There is no real Cookie cutter,
- 16:05you know, book of instructions or manual that's going to work
- 16:09for everybody every time that being said, again, when we go to
- 16:16looking for inspiration, we go back to looking for, you know,
- 16:19what that feeling is. Maybe not doing the thing that
- 16:23gave us that feeling, but finding something that gives us
- 16:25that feeling. We look for examples and we look
- 16:28for inspiration. So my inspiration, the things
- 16:31that have helped me. Get through when the honeymoon
- 16:37phase of whatever wears off is finding a purpose.
- 16:41Okay. And I know that may seem pretty
- 16:43generic, you know, you must have a purpose in life, you know, you
- 16:46must find your purpose. So what do I mean by that?
- 16:51When we first come into Heathen re I think a lot of us have
- 16:55become enamored with all of the things that make up Heathen re
- 17:00specifically the Mystic side of things.
- 17:03You know, the the woo side of us as we like, to call it in some
- 17:07in some circles, you know, the Divination, the, the magical
- 17:12aspects of it, right? Because that's It's so on the
- 17:18mystery behind it all makes. I think the to where the appeal
- 17:22is we don't know, a whole hell of a lot about it of of
- 17:25necessarily how it was done without a lot of extensive
- 17:29archaeological study and not everybody is so academically
- 17:33inclined to want to explore that side of things but the hints or
- 17:40the or the stories and stuff that we hear some of the things
- 17:42that we read about in some of the sagas, That, you know, bring
- 17:48this air of mystery around the void of has and of it keys or
- 17:54the some of the other sather, right?
- 18:00The save money or save, gonna all these various, for lack of a
- 18:05better term. Sorcerers witches Wizards,
- 18:08whatever of the Norse, persuasion, the dramatic side of
- 18:13things. It does.
- 18:16If you know, they they seem like unreal Heroes, you know.
- 18:20So there's that appeal to things, but it's not for
- 18:23everybody. And so when we, when we, when I
- 18:26say like find a purpose, is find, your purpose, is your
- 18:29purpose to explore that and to feed that sort of Passion that
- 18:38you may have about is is it is it, is it something that is deep
- 18:43within you? That's been dormant for a long
- 18:46time that needs to be awakened and if so, are you going through
- 18:50the right processes to wake it up or wake yourself up to
- 18:57connect to that side of things, you know, whether it's shamanic
- 19:00healing, whether it's trance, worked, save work, whether it's
- 19:04Rune readings read, whether it's, you know what?
- 19:07Her the mysticism side of the Heathen ring, you know, is that
- 19:13your purpose? And if it is, are you pursuing
- 19:14it? And if it's not, are you leaving
- 19:17it? Be where it is and and
- 19:22discovering your purpose, is your purpose to be.
- 19:27The shaman or the Mystic among your people or is your purpose
- 19:30to be the Weaver. among your people is is your purpose to be
- 19:37the Storyteller among your people, is your purpose to be
- 19:41the Builder, the carpenter the Smith, Is your purpose to be the
- 19:49Rune reader is your purpose to be.
- 19:50What is your purpose? You know, everyone has a purpose
- 19:54and not everyone's purpose is the same.
- 19:57So I think that's one of the things.
- 19:58I think that we can see happen with especially newer heathens
- 20:03is this tendency to fall into the traps of well, just because
- 20:10it's in the stories and just because it's in the sagas and it
- 20:12must be the thing that is a part of my even read as well.
- 20:16You know whether it's again the the whatever mysticism it and
- 20:20it's not. I've said this before in other
- 20:23videos I've done and just in conversations with people is
- 20:27that, you know, you are not a worse or better Heathen because
- 20:32you practice or don't practice. Some form of divination or
- 20:38magic, you know, just because you don't know how to read runes
- 20:40just because you don't know what the runes mean, doesn't make you
- 20:43less of a pagan you know, leave it to the people who know the
- 20:47thing, leave it to the professionals.
- 20:49As I say, you know, I wouldn't call my electrician.
- 20:53If my leaky pipes were leaking, you know, if I needed Plumbing
- 20:56done, I wouldn't call my mechanic, you know, I would call
- 21:00the plumber called you call upon the person you call upon the one
- 21:03that knows the a thing to do that needs to be done.
- 21:09And that's not the same person for everything, you know, just
- 21:13because the man is good at reading rooms doesn't mean that
- 21:16he or she or just because a person is good at reading rooms
- 21:18and they may not necessarily mean that they are good at the
- 21:22you know trance work saved, work, shamanic, healing.
- 21:28Yes. A lot of those things tend to
- 21:30kind of become part and parcel with each other and you get kind
- 21:34of this expectation. I think a lot of times that, you
- 21:37know, those people are good at all of those things but not
- 21:41necessarily, you know, so I think 44 again, going back to an
- 21:50answer for the question, you know, tips for not so new
- 21:53heathens is find your purpose and don't think that your
- 21:56purpose needs to include everything about divination
- 22:00mysticism. And I'm using that as an example
- 22:03because it seems to be the thing that, you know, I almost find
- 22:08that on a regular basis. A lot of folks that eventually
- 22:11at some point in their paganism go.
- 22:12Well, I think it's time that I learned the runes.
- 22:15Why? Is that is D.
- 22:16Did you give yourself this false expectation that by year?
- 22:19Five of your Pagan Journey, you should be learning the runes?
- 22:23I know plenty of folks who've been begging for a very long
- 22:27time, who don't know the first thing about runic divination or
- 22:33saith work or they're not shamanic healers.
- 22:37You know, those are those are very specific specialty.
- 22:41Roles in our communities, I think.
- 22:44And, you know, if you're not called to that, if you've not
- 22:47been given any sort of indication that that is your
- 22:52purpose. Don't Force It.
- 22:54Don't don't make something out of nothing.
- 22:58You know if it's not there, another one that I would say for
- 23:04those that are not. So new heathens, how to bring
- 23:06that bring that spark back is When we first start out as
- 23:13pagans we, I think we jumped the gun.
- 23:16Not everybody. Okay, obviously this doesn't
- 23:18apply to every new Pagan, or Noob newbie Heathen, right?
- 23:21Whatever term. We want to put to him, but I
- 23:24think one of the Tendencies is we, you know, we see people that
- 23:27have become so excited so an average.
- 23:29So, you know, engrossed in the the aesthetic or or the
- 23:34romanticized perception of Germanic. practices that they
- 23:41skip and they look over the and miss the important parts of
- 23:47Building establishing and maintaining a hearth.
- 23:51Cult, your Hearth practice is your individual cultic
- 23:54practices. And I think personally that
- 23:58that's one of, if not the main reasons why we lose we see
- 24:04people lose interest or we see people get burnt out or Need to
- 24:11rekindle their their connection after the honeymoon phase
- 24:15because they've skipped the good.
- 24:16They skip to the good part, right?
- 24:18Like I don't want to read the the forward, I don't want to
- 24:22read the lore. I just want to know what happens
- 24:25to the heroes, you know, and they want to get to the end,
- 24:27then they get to the end. It's like now, what do I do?
- 24:30Well, you missed all of the, the beginning, the leading up to
- 24:33every, you know, I mean, like you missed up all this good
- 24:35stuff that happened. That led you to the to the
- 24:39exciting climax. The good part, right?
- 24:42It's kind of like you know, you're going to just get in
- 24:44there hitting quit, are you going to spend time?
- 24:47Enjoying yourself with the foreplay?
- 24:48It's, you gotta, you gotta enjoy the journey more so than reach
- 24:53the destination. And part of the journey.
- 24:59That is that, you know, the, the longevity of it is in the
- 25:03individual cultic practices. Do you have your own Hearth
- 25:07cult? Do you even know what a hearth
- 25:09cult is? Well you ought to know because
- 25:11your Hearth gold is going to be different than my, I know it.
- 25:13My heart's Colt is I know what I do when I get up every day and I
- 25:17know what I do at certain times of the year and I know what I do
- 25:22just randomly and I know, you know, some of the the
- 25:25idiosyncrasies or the habits or the customs.
- 25:28A tour part of my hearth. You should too.
- 25:33And every Pagan should every Pagan should have their own
- 25:35Hearth cult established before they really get into the The the
- 25:42wide world of Mystic gods and spirits and all this stuff like
- 25:47yes, the spirits are present. They are with us that they tear
- 25:50the whites. I mean, our ancestors that all
- 25:54encompasses the spirit realm, or it's all included in the spirit
- 25:58realm. But without without first
- 26:01establishing, where our place is amongst them and where they fit
- 26:06into our existence and how we coexist with them.
- 26:10You're going to I think that that's again, one of the big
- 26:13reasons why so many folks, Feel disconnected at some point
- 26:18because the novelty has worn off.
- 26:20You know, I don't feel so connected to Thor anymore.
- 26:23I don't feel connected to Odin anymore.
- 26:25Well, did you ever really connect to the spirits that live
- 26:27in exists around? You were you too busy?
- 26:29You know, trying to recreate what you saw on an episode of
- 26:34Vikings or the last Kingdom or any other sort of, you know,
- 26:39re-creation of a saga? You know, you watch Beowulf too
- 26:42many times. And you think you can, you know,
- 26:44fight, Grendel, naked or whatever?
- 26:45I don't know. Just all These like romanticized
- 26:49Hollywood eyes over embellished inaccurate, many times versions
- 26:55of the stories and it's like, that's that's that's cool for
- 26:58the entertainment value. That's cool for the aspect of
- 27:01what it is for, but it's not a, it's not an accurate
- 27:03representation of anything that was, that was done.
- 27:06At least not so much as we can. As we as we know.
- 27:09Yes. There are great stories of
- 27:10Heroes and Feats of wonder that have allowed those people.
- 27:16All to have their names spoken in story and song and songs long
- 27:23after their bodies have died. You know.
- 27:26It goes back to We hear about in the Hall of a mall where cattle
- 27:30die Kinsmen Die. You yourself also will die.
- 27:33One thing that will never die is the fair Fame of one who has
- 27:35earned it. That's not a Verbatim, quote
- 27:37course that's paraphrasing. But you get it, it's, you know,
- 27:42that the fair Fame, that is one, it's our reputations.
- 27:44You know, these people, these stories are here because of the
- 27:47reputation that was one through their great deeds and it's so
- 27:52exciting to read those stories and to find those Examples of
- 27:58valiant people you know makes you like man.
- 28:03That's what I want to be when I grow up kind of thing.
- 28:05You know, I want to be, I want to be that renowned I want to
- 28:07have my I want. I want my enemies to tremble
- 28:11when my Name Escapes their lips and all this other kind of
- 28:16thing. I mean, let's be real.
- 28:19It's very rare and it's it's not for the majority it's that's not
- 28:23the purpose. But most of us, sir, most of us
- 28:26are just here, you know, too. Provide for our families and be
- 28:33good providers and for our communities.
- 28:35And but some of us some people out here, some, some folks in
- 28:40the communities out here are built for great things, and they
- 28:44are doing great things and they're using their Fame, and
- 28:46they're using their the luck. There, humming you their main to
- 28:53do those things and if that's you, if that's what you don't.
- 28:57Don't, don't let anybody stop you.
- 28:59You know, keep that. Keep that momentum forward but
- 29:03again without having without having the strong route, the
- 29:06strong Foundation established at the hearth level.
- 29:13All right, I know I'm not the only one that's spoken it and
- 29:15I'm not the first one that has spoken it.
- 29:17That Heathen re is where the Hearth is the heart of heathen
- 29:22re. Is in the Hearth.
- 29:26It's in the home starts at the clan at the house, the roof
- 29:30tri-level. Alright and yeah I mean I'm
- 29:37not--that's not to say that when you do have that established
- 29:40when you do have those things strongly, you know, maintained
- 29:46and strongly built in and maintaining and practice in your
- 29:49life that there's not going to come times where you feel
- 29:51discouraged, that you feel like you need a boost.
- 29:54You know, but that is definitely.
- 29:58I believed to be one of the big reasons why as I mentioned
- 30:02before, it's not that with our that we filled that disconnect
- 30:06is you're going to feel disconnected more.
- 30:07If you don't have something strong to take, hold of and
- 30:11something strong to sink your teeth into and to plant your
- 30:15feet in. So the next part of tips for Nur
- 30:19heathens talking about planting, our feet into things is getting
- 30:24back into nature and this may sound a bit Neo-pagan in your
- 30:32whatever, but go out and walk Barefoot in the Earth, get your
- 30:39bare feet on earth, right? Even if it's just for a few
- 30:43minutes, even if it's just your grass, anybody anywhere?
- 30:50I don't care if you live in the city can find someplace that has
- 30:55grass soil, dirt whatever, within a Be close distance,
- 31:03right? Even if you're not you know,
- 31:06living in a kind of a Remote area.
- 31:10If it's residential if it's an inner city living, like, there's
- 31:13a park, there's there somewhere nearby that you can go.
- 31:18And even if there's noise pollution, even if there's
- 31:20traffic. Okay?
- 31:21A lot of the places that I go a nearby here, where you guys have
- 31:24seen a lot of my videos and posts is I mean, you could throw
- 31:32a rock and hit the highway, you know what I mean?
- 31:34Like, it's it looks very remote and it looks very peaceful and
- 31:38quiet and the feeling of it is is there but you've got the
- 31:42noise pollution and you're like, yeah, you know, it seems
- 31:45pristine but you also got that constant, reminder of just how
- 31:50close to, you know, civilization you really are but it's the
- 31:56point of getting your feet. On bare Earth and it's the point
- 32:01of getting yourself anchored connected and grounded into the
- 32:07Earth. If if everybody that listens to
- 32:12this podcast hasn't already today, right?
- 32:18At some point before the end of this podcast, I want you to go
- 32:21outside, go somewhere, take off your shoes, take off your socks.
- 32:27Walk in the grass, walking the Earth.
- 32:31Five, ten minutes. If that's all you can spare.
- 32:36And then come back and tell me. That, that didn't make you feel
- 32:40better to some degree that it didn't elevate your mood, that
- 32:45it didn't increase. If you felt sad prior to doing
- 32:49it, tell me that it didn't make you feel just a little bit
- 32:54happier that your emotions were elevated after doing it.
- 32:58I, I wouldn't believe you if you told me that it didn't and why
- 33:02do I believe that? Why would I, why do I stand by
- 33:06that statement? It's because I do it nearly
- 33:08every day. You know nearly every day for
- 33:14four part of if not most of my, you know, lunch break because I,
- 33:20you know, I work from home and that might be, you know, an
- 33:26added bonus to being given the opportunity to have more time
- 33:30than just a few minutes. But it doesn't matter if you
- 33:32work from home, if you work, you know, in a store.
- 33:34If you work at a factory, if you drive over the road, whatever
- 33:37you do for a living, you're going to have downtime at some
- 33:40point and if you are using your downtime, Productively you're
- 33:48going to have at least a few minutes to spare to do what it
- 33:51is and I'm saying, and you're not going to regret it because I
- 33:55do there are plenty of times where I feel like I want to, you
- 34:00know, punch a baby. Or I want to strangle a kid I
- 34:03wanted, you know, just, I'm so frustrated right.
- 34:07And what's the thing that I do? I don't.
- 34:12And I have in the past, you know, I don't take on
- 34:16destructive habits. I don't, you know, drown myself
- 34:21in a bottle of whiskey, I don't, you know, take on violent
- 34:26tendencies, it's, you know, raising your voice, you know,
- 34:29expelling that anger, that sort of thing.
- 34:31You know, you got to let it out some floor, but you got to do so
- 34:33constructively. But one of the best ways I'm
- 34:36telling you, one of the best ways to help bring your mood
- 34:38back to where it needs to be in kind of check it, right?
- 34:42Way to heck up here. You need to get back down here.
- 34:46Go outside, take off your socks and shoes walk around in the
- 34:49grass for a bit. Or even just stand there.
- 34:53You know, part of its part of, you know, the electrical -
- 35:00currents that that exist in the earth, scientifically speaking,
- 35:03right? It balances us out perfectly.
- 35:07It's what our ancient Primal ancestors did day in and day out
- 35:10that and they didn't have, you know, half the problems that we
- 35:13have now, granted, right? Like that was however many
- 35:18Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years ago, when we
- 35:20talked about like our Primal ancestors, you know, some of the
- 35:23predecessors of the homo sapiens species, whatever.
- 35:27But still like there are still today, modern-day primitive
- 35:32tribes, you know, that live off the land and that that are
- 35:37walking barefoot. In the land, almost all the
- 35:41time. If not all the time.
- 35:44They're out there in nature, the getting the sun on their skin,
- 35:49Through The Eyes on the face in own skin.
- 35:51They're absorbing that life-giving energy.
- 35:55You know yes we've heard about it a whole lot of other songs
- 35:57good for you, you know. Don't not too much but this you
- 35:59know, in quantity, do Tim quality doses, the the vitamin D
- 36:05and all the other good things that come from sunlight, you
- 36:10know, wonder why our society is so sick, what we feel.
- 36:13So depressed, while we So most of the time it's look at where
- 36:18we are in, you know, in our in our professional lives.
- 36:20I wear in these artificially lit.
- 36:24Boxes. That give know sort of
- 36:27stimulation to our Primal selves we are we are so disconnected.
- 36:33now, in today, That it's no wonder everybody so depressed
- 36:38and everybody's feeling like shit and everybody feels
- 36:41disconnected from the gods or from their ancestors are from
- 36:43things. This is you could you, we do it
- 36:46to ourselves. You know, we go to a job that
- 36:51most of us hate, we sit in the car, we drive we commute or we
- 36:56go to into our offices at home. You know we sedate ourselves or
- 37:01we stimulate ourselves with enough artificial substances,
- 37:05whether it's caffeine, whether it's alcohol, whether it's
- 37:07prescription drugs, whether it's non-prescription drugs, right?
- 37:12We do all these things to ourselves just to help get us
- 37:14through to the next to the end of it, right?
- 37:17Where Can turn off our vehicles, come back to our homes, or turn
- 37:22off our computers, our clothes, our office doors, right?
- 37:25And then, what do we do? We eat crap.
- 37:29You know, processed foods, you know, sit down and watch Netflix
- 37:35Television, right? Scroll through.
- 37:39Rrrr, Instagram, or YouTube feeds, our Facebook feeds, all
- 37:43of these things that are just they are they lack the mental
- 37:46stimulation that we need to thrive, not just survive, but to
- 37:51thrive. And then we wonder, what are we
- 37:54what are we missing in our lives?
- 37:56But we're missing the fundamental basics of what are
- 37:59human Psyche what are human physical form?
- 38:03What would we as a species? But we as a living being need to
- 38:08thrive and survive? So when anybody says, you know,
- 38:13what can I do to reconnect and, or how can I rekindle those
- 38:17fires, man. Get Back To Nature.
- 38:18Get back to your connecting, to your Primal self.
- 38:23You know as much as you can spare make it a habit, make it a
- 38:27practice, make it a living. Make it a part, turn it into be,
- 38:32make it become. Your Hearth cult to get out
- 38:36there. Get your bare feet, anchored and
- 38:40connected, and grounded back into the Earth.
- 38:41Stack the sun on your eyes, Through Your Eyes on the face,
- 38:44and on the skin, eat better, take care of yourself lift,
- 38:49heavy things walk. Even if it's just a little bit
- 38:53the next day, walk a few more steps the next day.
- 38:55Walk, a few more steps than that, do something.
- 38:57Get out there and do something I've talked to.
- 38:59So, you know about this recently to about how doing something is
- 39:05better than to do. Nothing in action is a crime.
- 39:09Lisa was considered as a crime in dramatic, you know, our teeth
- 39:13and times and times, prior to, when Scandinavian, and some of
- 39:19these dramatic countries became christianized, like, it was just
- 39:22a common worldview that if you didn't do anything, you were
- 39:25committing a crime because in action, stasis isn't doing
- 39:30anything to build towards betterness and builds and or to
- 39:35build, or even support what is already there, you know, so if
- 39:40you're not doing anything, if you're just letting things go
- 39:43and if you're being lazy about and if you're not Hungering
- 39:47after it thirsting after it fighting for it even defending
- 39:51what you have in fighting for more.
- 39:55You're losing your purpose, your you're losing, the very core of
- 39:59yourself from where you came now.
- 40:05Are these going to be the things that fix?
- 40:08Your life. I don't know.
- 40:11Is it going to be the thing that helps you in your attempt to
- 40:17feel that fire again that you once had when you were a newer
- 40:21Pagan, I don't know. But I can tell you that he's
- 40:25that these are things that helped me and that continued to
- 40:28help me. It's a reason why I come back
- 40:30and I do this stuff every week. It's one of the reasons why I
- 40:34put my content out when I do because I'm not just sitting
- 40:37here talking about it. I'm showing you guys the things.
- 40:41While I'm doing them. But guys, I had a great, you
- 40:44know, walking the river today. As I sit here in my hooded cloak
- 40:48with you know a nigga she Elmer Banner behind me and incense
- 40:52burning with all this artificial light, it's nighttime right?
- 40:55It was a great walk. Today will go W go back and
- 40:57watch my content. I was out there doing it.
- 41:00You guys see it? You know, I'm not just I'm not
- 41:04pitching something because I want people to like it.
- 41:08I want the views, I want the reactions, I want the
- 41:10interactions, I mean, y'all, that's great, because, hey, I
- 41:12mean, what do we, what am I here?
- 41:13For two, but to, you know, build this Brand as it were I mean it
- 41:21I would be lying if I said it's not that it has become that.
- 41:25I've worked hard for it to become that so the hard work
- 41:29that was put into it requires harder work to maintain it,
- 41:32right? So yes, there's going to be
- 41:33those things but I'm not going to just sit out here and put out
- 41:36content and tell you guys about the greatness of things that I
- 41:40don't personally believe in that I haven't vetted in practice
- 41:43myself. kind of a kind of a And I hate this term will influence
- 41:51our a, but what kind of influence what I'd be?
- 41:53What kind of example is a better word?
- 41:55What kind of an example would I be setting?
- 41:59If I wasn't practicing the things that I, you know, preach,
- 42:02right? That's why again, not an
- 42:04influencer, not a preacher I'm not sitting here from a an
- 42:08exalted Throne of lies to tell you things.
- 42:11I'm sitting from a humble seat of experience sharing with you
- 42:17those experiences. In hopes that maybe if you're
- 42:21unsure about what to do and you're just looking for ideas
- 42:24that you take my ideas and you think about it, and then put it
- 42:27to put it, to put it to work. Plan that work.
- 42:32Work that plan and see how it fits, because what have you got
- 42:37to lose at this point? You know, if you're looking for
- 42:39something and you don't do it, then that's your loss.
- 42:43But if you're looking for something and you do it, then
- 42:44it's either a, it's going to work for you and you're going to
- 42:47continue to do it, and then you're going to be inspired.
- 42:48Out and find more things to do that work for you and then maybe
- 42:52share those things with other people and then they're going to
- 42:54be inspired and on and on it goes right to that that's either
- 42:57going to happen. Or you're going to do it, you're
- 43:00not going to feel anything from it and then you're left with.
- 43:03Well, at least I tried. And hey, at least you tried.
- 43:06Right? At least you came here.
- 43:07At least she listened, at least you watch this video.
- 43:10Least you like this video. At least you shared it, you
- 43:13know. Maybe it doesn't hit you in the
- 43:16same way that you think. Well, I know somebody who really
- 43:19would like this. That's what this is all about
- 43:22guys. It's about sharing and if it's
- 43:24about interacting holistically and and and not being selfish
- 43:30about it, you know, if we get too selfish about these things,
- 43:33when we start looking at it as as a competition, I want to be
- 43:37like him. I want to be like her.
- 43:39I wanted, I want to have that what he or she has.
- 43:42Instead of, I want to be the best version of me.
- 43:45I want to have the things that I want that.
- 43:49I enjoy for the reasons that I enjoy, that.
- 43:51I want the things for my family that they enjoy.
- 43:53I want it for us. I don't want it to be in
- 43:57competition with him or her anything, you know.
- 43:59Like that's great that they, that their success.
- 44:01So successful, I feel inspired to be my own great, great.
- 44:08You know, version of myself, you know.
- 44:10Don't try to be me, guys. Don't try to be this.
- 44:16Be the best version of yourself, find it.
- 44:18And if it just so happens that what I'm doing and talking about
- 44:21helps you be that way and helps you reconnect with the gods or
- 44:24with your ancestors, right? Whatever happens.
- 44:27Happens out of it but it's not because you're trying to be me.
- 44:30It's because something that I said or did.
- 44:35Yeah, I don't beat me. Don't poke yourself in the eye
- 44:36in front of, you know, a dozen people or hundreds of people who
- 44:40are many people are watching this.
- 44:45Because that ain't cool man, it tight cool.
- 44:50But so yeah, you go Connor and everybody.
- 44:55Those are those are just some things off the top of my head
- 44:57that I could. Come up with you and last
- 45:02however long it's been too. Maybe give his ideas and, and
- 45:07hopefully inspire you to find your own ways.
- 45:11So, now that I've given you my answers and what's worked for
- 45:15me, I'm curious to know what's worked for you because I know
- 45:18that I have plenty of not-so-new heathens out here that are
- 45:22listening and watching that have things themselves that work.
- 45:26So share in your knowledge head down into the comments section,
- 45:31reply to this wherever you see it.
- 45:34Right in Colon to the random even ramblings podcast.
- 45:39And share what works for you. If you do call in and leave a
- 45:45voicemail on the midgard musings, hotline your voice,
- 45:47could be featured in a future episode which I would love love
- 45:50love to do think it's a great way to expand and, you know,
- 45:55open up this to other people and then give that opportunity for
- 46:01the masses to hear your voice. So you can do that, you can
- 46:04write it in through the email address, you can At me on
- 46:09Twitter, you can tag me on Facebook or Instagram.
- 46:13Dif definitely do the things if you're thinking about doing it.
- 46:18Don't not do it. Because like I said before
- 46:21you're in action, could be a crime and you could be
- 46:25preventing yourself firstly from from growing and you could be
- 46:29may be preventing others from I'm learning from you as well,
- 46:33so don't be shy. Get in the water.
- 46:36Feels great, might be a little cold at first might shock you,
- 46:40but you're going to be okay, it's going to be okay, you'll be
- 46:43all right. Come from a hearty line and a
- 46:47strong. Generation of ancestors that
- 46:51have done great things. Now it's up to you to leave 1:58
- 46:57live on with that Legacy with their legacy and make sure that
- 47:00their legacy does live on. So you are responsible for that.
- 47:03You can do it and it would be appreciated if you did at the
- 47:07very least at the end of this episode, be sure to give it a
- 47:09like, share it around engage with the algorithm gods and
- 47:14appease them because they are fickle, they change almost daily
- 47:17guys. I'm being a bit funny right now
- 47:19but when I Tell you that. What I thought worked to keep
- 47:23the algorithm engaged, you know, yesterday or week ago, ain't the
- 47:27same thing anymore. Like, they move on.
- 47:29They figure out other stuff. It's crazy and it's nuts.
- 47:32The way the algorithm is here on this particular platform.
- 47:35I don't know if I don't know what they're doing out there.
- 47:38You guys, still trying to figure that out.
- 47:40But anyway, what you can do is like these videos engage share,
- 47:45right, comment, subscribe, I don't know what's going on.
- 47:49With the subscriber thing lately but it's like, it's just been
- 47:51kind of sitting there still all the stuff that I've been doing
- 47:54to keep the algorithm engaged and keep people engaged.
- 47:57It's just kind of like, we're just sitting here, we're just
- 47:59chilling, you know, more in half thousand until the end of time.
- 48:05But there you guys go. I hope you did enjoy this
- 48:07episode and thank you once again to Connor for the great idea.
- 48:12So until we talk again May the gods continue to notice you.
- 48:18And may your ancestors smile, upon you.
- 48:21See you next time?
