- 0:00Speaker 1: Stirring the pot, one morning at a time. Welcome to
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Alabama Show.
- 0:15Speaker 2: You're so lucky. How so?
- 0:18Speaker 3: I forgot to bring the pumpkin spice stuff today for
- 0:21Speaker 3: Wheel of Pumpkin.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Today is the day. Today is the day.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Because the thing I have, you are going to absolutely hate.
- 0:29Speaker 4: It is miserable. Well, if it's pumpkin, I'm going to
- 0:31Speaker 4: hate it no matter what. Yeah, it's so bad.
- 0:33Speaker 3: We'll still do it Thursday, but you got two more
- 0:36Speaker 3: days to mentally prepare.
- 0:39Speaker 2: We do this thing, Wheel of Pumpkin.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Producer Blake hates pumpkin spice things, so I make him
- 0:43Speaker 3: try all the stuff.
- 0:45Speaker 5: It's never going to mentally prepare enough for this. I
- 0:48Speaker 5: can't prepare for that.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Anyway, we're going to have a good day today.
- 0:51Speaker 3: We've got to talk about producer Blake's shirt that he's
- 0:53Speaker 3: wearing at 8 o'clock, which is so stupid. That's all.
- 0:57Speaker 4: It's so stupid. It's not stupid. Seven o'clock. I messed up.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I did something you can make fun of me for
- 1:03Speaker 3: when I was watching somebody's house while they.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Were out of town. What the hell headlines?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Crazy things people are doing in the news. 650 and
- 1:10Speaker 3: 850 all.
- 1:11Speaker 1: On the way.
- 1:11Speaker 2: But good morning.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Hi.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Thank you for being here. You can call anytime. 833-501-BAMA
- 1:17Speaker 2: is the number.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It's what the hell headlines.
- 1:20Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:22Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 1:25Speaker 3: A student jumped through an in-and-out drive-thru window to protect
- 1:30Speaker 3: workers with a spatula.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Was he protecting them from himself? No, no, no.
- 1:36Speaker 3: So a 53-year-old woman at an In-N-Out started threatening workers
- 1:40Speaker 3: with a large wooden stick.
- 1:42Speaker 4: That's the first issue. Okay.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Then a 20-year-old hero jumped through the drive-thru window, grabbed
- 1:48Speaker 3: a spatula.
- 1:49Speaker 4: And saved all the workers.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And here is the eyewitness breaking down the entire event.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Listen to this. Right here. Get the eff out of there! Like,
- 1:59Speaker 2: so loud.
- 1:59Speaker 4: And it's the driver.
- 2:00Speaker 6: He yelled it at the top of his lungs, the
- 2:01Speaker 6: driver of the car in front of me. And he's
- 2:03Speaker 6: yelling that inside the drive-thru window. But then I realized
- 2:06Speaker 6: that there's no staff in the kitchen. Like, there's only
- 2:08Speaker 6: a bunch of people cooking.
- 2:09Speaker 4: There's nobody there.
- 2:10Speaker 6: And he gets out of his car, and he jumps
- 2:12Speaker 6: out of the window, and he starts battling this lady
- 2:14Speaker 6: with the stick.
- 2:15Speaker 2: She had chased.
- 2:16Speaker 6: I guess, all the staff into some back room. She
- 2:18Speaker 6: was mad that they didn't make her.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Burger fast enough or something. This kid, like, totally saved
- 2:22Speaker 2: the day. So, In-N-Out, it would be cool if you
- 2:25Speaker 2: give them burgers for life.
- 2:27Speaker 3: That sounds like a freaking video game.
- 2:29Speaker 4: That's what that is. I would play.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It. What the hell?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Angela, good morning. What are you doing today? Where do
- 2:41Speaker 2: you work? What do you do?
- 2:42Speaker 7: Oh, heck yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 2: We love Aldi's over here.
- 2:47Speaker 4: That's my favorite place right now.
- 2:49Speaker 7: A lot of people, that's their favorite place.
- 2:52Speaker 4: I love the Isle of.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's not the Isle of Shame.
- 2:56Speaker 4: What is it?
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's the Isle with all the seasonal stuff? Look, Producer Blake,
- 2:59Speaker 2: you're missing out.
- 3:00Speaker 7: Everybody calls it the Isle of Shame.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I love it.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It's my favorite. It's the Isle of... It's a shame
- 3:05Speaker 2: there's not more of it.
- 3:08Speaker 7: Right because once it's down it's.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Down okay angela you want to see if you're smarter
- 3:12Speaker 3: than producer blake did that get you are you laughing
- 3:15Speaker 3: at me.
- 3:15Speaker 4: That hard yeah it's just something you want.
- 3:19Speaker 3: To play let's see if you're smarter than producer blake
- 3:21Speaker 3: i'll ask the questions angela use your name as your
- 3:24Speaker 3: buzzer and then say the answer because producer blake will
- 3:27Speaker 3: try to say the answer before you and cheat all
- 3:29Speaker 3: right Okay.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Question number one. If you freeze water, what do you get?
- 3:34Speaker 4: Producer Blake.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Ice.
- 3:36Speaker 4: What'd you say, Angela?
- 3:37Speaker 3: Ice.
- 3:37Speaker 6: Good job.
- 3:39Speaker 4: This is crazy work. This is absolutely bonkers. Next one.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Don't wait for me to call on you. After you
- 3:45Speaker 3: say your name, just say the answer.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Question number two. What color are the stars in the
- 3:50Speaker 3: American flag?
- 3:51Speaker 4: Producer Blake.
- 3:52Speaker 7: White.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Angela White. Angela, good job.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:56Speaker 4: And last one.
- 3:58Speaker 2: For the win, what holiday do you go trick-or-treating?
- 4:02Speaker 7: Angela, Halloween.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Good job!
- 4:15Speaker 2: Congratulations, Angela.
- 4:16Speaker 3: You were the only person that answered any of those
- 4:18Speaker 3: questions in that game, and you have won Super Easy Trivia. Yay!
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 4:26Speaker 3: A Talladega medical dispensary is now open treating patients with
- 4:30Speaker 3: qualifying conditions. This is now the second medical dispensary in
- 4:34Speaker 3: the state of Alabama, giving more patients access to treatment.
- 4:38Speaker 3: If you want to be a patient or get in,
- 4:40Speaker 3: you need an ID and a medical card to be
- 4:42Speaker 3: able to enter. But that is now officially open in Talladega.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Ciara just announced her fifth pregnancy. This is going to
- 4:49Speaker 3: be her fourth child with Russell Wilson, who's a former
- 4:52Speaker 3: NFL player. Her announcement was really cute on Instagram. She
- 4:55Speaker 3: posted a video with her baby bump and then she
- 4:57Speaker 3: captioned it.
- 4:58Speaker 2: One more person to love. So congratulations, Ciara.
- 5:02Speaker 3: TSA is now testing out bringing back an old rule.
- 5:06Speaker 3: What they used to do 25 years ago before 9-11,
- 5:10Speaker 3: loved ones that were not flying could go through TSA
- 5:13Speaker 3: and sit at the gate and wait with the person
- 5:15Speaker 3: before they get on their flight and take off.
- 5:17Speaker 4: I love that. I really enjoy that rule.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So they're testing bringing it back in 13 U.S.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Airports right now. If you want to do this, the
- 5:26Speaker 2: visitors that.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Go in have to be approved. You have to apply
- 5:29Speaker 3: through TSA and get a gate side pass one to
- 5:32Speaker 3: three days before.
- 5:34Speaker 2: And then you still have to go through the TSA screening.
- 5:36Speaker 1: But it is cool.
- 5:37Speaker 3: It's supposed to make flying easier for like little kids
- 5:39Speaker 3: and elderly people that don't know how to find their
- 5:41Speaker 3: gate and get on a plane and do all that stuff.
- 5:43Speaker 4: You can walk with them. And people that are nervous
- 5:45Speaker 4: that just need somebody there. I like the idea. It's
- 5:48Speaker 4: a really cool concept.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I do, too.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I really like it, too.
- 5:51Speaker 3: That is three things you need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I messed up real big. Okay, what did you do
- 6:01Speaker 4: this time?
- 6:02Speaker 3: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with
- 6:05Speaker 3: producer Blake. I house sit for my friends when they
- 6:08Speaker 3: go out of town, and they go out of town.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Pretty often, the summer they have, they've been traveling. Well,
- 6:14Speaker 2: I water the plants.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I play with their horses and feed the cats and
- 6:18Speaker 3: do the things.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Yeah, correct.
- 6:20Speaker 3: So yesterday, they get back in town after being gone
- 6:24Speaker 3: for a week.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Okay. I forgot to clean out the cat's litter box.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Like one time or the whole time?
- 6:31Speaker 1: For the whole week.
- 6:33Speaker 2: And so what happened was.
- 6:35Speaker 3: My friend, the wife, she texted me and she goes, hey,
- 6:38Speaker 3: when was the last time you cleaned out the litter box?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Because our shower is full of cat poop.
- 6:45Speaker 4: And I went, oh, never. You actually told her never?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah, because they would have known that I didn't do it.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Because I usually, when I do it, I leave the
- 6:55Speaker 2: bag somewhere for them to take out. So I couldn't lie.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I didn't clean it. Because I
- 7:01Speaker 2: hate cleaning a litter box.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Every time I thought about doing it, I was like, oh,
- 7:04Speaker 3: I'll do it the next time I come back.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I never did it.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And so the cat pooped all over their shower.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:12Speaker 4: You're never going to get hired again. You're never going
- 7:14Speaker 4: to get asked for help again.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I know. Why didn't you pay me anyway? It's just
- 7:18Speaker 2: trade for swimming in their pool.
- 7:20Speaker 4: I was about to say, you get to swim in
- 7:21Speaker 4: their pool.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I know.
- 7:22Speaker 5: You just lost pool privilege just because you couldn't clean
- 7:25Speaker 5: up some cat feces.
- 7:26Speaker 3: She didn't even respond after I said that.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I was waiting for her to respond and say anything.
- 7:31Speaker 4: I just went, I didn't.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Shit. I think she's mad at me, too.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Have you still not talked to him at all?
- 7:39Speaker 6: No.
- 7:39Speaker 4: What have you done? You've lost pool privileges.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I know.
- 7:44Speaker 4: No more pool party for you.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I'm not going to be tan and golden brown anymore.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Because you were.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I know.
- 7:52Speaker 4: I don't know what to do.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Call the show.
- 7:56Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number. Call the show.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Have you ever housed it for your friends and have
- 7:59Speaker 3: you ever messed something up?
- 8:01Speaker 2: Or has anybody ever housed it for you and forgot
- 8:03Speaker 2: to do anything?
- 8:04Speaker 4: 833-501-2262.
- 8:05Speaker 3: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 8:11Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. Katie, good morning.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Where are you calling from?
- 8:16Speaker 7: From Huntsville.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Awesome. Thanks for listening in Huntsville.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Okay, what happened when you watched Somebody's House?
- 8:23Speaker 7: Oh, it was worse. They watched our cats for us
- 8:26Speaker 7: years ago, and we had a keyboard, and we were
- 8:31Speaker 7: gone over the weekend, so a few days. God, I
- 8:34Speaker 7: can't even. She basically left the keyboard on. It must
- 8:39Speaker 7: have gotten, like, walked on, and it was blasting random, like,
- 8:43Speaker 7: a loop of do-do-do-do-do-do, like.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 8:47Speaker 7: Max volume for days. And she was like, oh, I
- 8:50Speaker 7: thought that's what you guys would want to leave on
- 8:52Speaker 7: for the cats, ma'am.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Or the cats just screaming and going crazy when you
- 8:58Speaker 3: got home?
- 8:59Speaker 7: Like, I think they were traumatized.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Like, they were, like, silent.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Poor babies.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Every time the keyboard comes out, they run.
- 9:08Speaker 6: You're right.
- 9:08Speaker 7: Like, we got rid of it, needless to say. But, like,
- 9:11Speaker 7: there was, like, no brain power in that. Like, who
- 9:14Speaker 7: does that?
- 9:15Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 9:15Speaker 4: That's funny.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Katie, thank you for sharing.
- 9:18Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Bye. Bye.
- 9:20Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Alabama football started this weekend, and we started off great
- 9:26Speaker 3: because Alabama beat East Carolina 48-10. Auburn beat the Baylor
- 9:31Speaker 3: Bears barely 17-6.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Roll Tide.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Jennifer Aniston shared the best advice that Dolly Parton gave her.
- 9:38Speaker 3: She was at an appearance in New York. People asked
- 9:40Speaker 3: her what the best advice was that she had to give.
- 9:43Speaker 3: So she paid tribute to Dolly, who she worked with
- 9:45Speaker 3: on the 2018 movie Dumplin'. And she said that Dolly
- 9:49Speaker 3: taught her to chase rainbows. And she said that Dolly
- 9:52Speaker 3: will forever stand as an inspiration, not only through her
- 9:55Speaker 3: timeless music, but also her wit, warmth and kindness that
- 9:58Speaker 3: made us all feel like family. so there's there's your
- 10:01Speaker 3: advice chase some chase your dreams and catch some rainbows
- 10:05Speaker 3: oh i love that yeah it's good advice streaming services
- 10:08Speaker 3: are rising more than cable and way faster than the
- 10:11Speaker 3: rate of inflation since 2022 streaming prices jumped more than
- 10:14Speaker 3: three times the rate of inflation So if you have
- 10:18Speaker 3: all eight major streaming services without ads right now, it
- 10:21Speaker 3: would cost you $ 151 a month more than cable.
- 10:24Speaker 4: That is insane to me. Why would you even pay?
- 10:27Speaker 4: I don't get it.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I'm paying for your Netflix. I'm about to remove you
- 10:30Speaker 2: from my family plan.
- 10:32Speaker 4: No, we're family.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I love you, but no. So here's the solution.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Streaming cycling where you subscribe to one service at a time.
- 10:39Speaker 3: And after you binge watched everything, like usually I have
- 10:42Speaker 3: Apple TV too.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And I love the morning show, but I haven't watched it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: It's done. I haven't watched Apple TV for months.
- 10:49Speaker 4: You know what?
- 10:50Speaker 3: I need to cancel it and stick to Netflix for
- 10:53Speaker 3: right now. And then when that comes out, cancel Netflix
- 10:55Speaker 3: and go to, you just cycle it.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Yeah, or make some new emails and just keep doing
- 10:59Speaker 4: the free trials. You know, do your thing.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Oh, that's a good idea.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm telling you.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Why don't you do that?
- 11:05Speaker 5: I do.
- 11:05Speaker 3: No, because I'm paying for Netflix. That's three things you
- 11:10Speaker 3: need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 11:15Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 11:18Speaker 3: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show if you
- 11:21Speaker 3: have good news.
- 11:21Speaker 2: We want to hear it. Austin, good morning. What's your
- 11:24Speaker 2: good news?
- 11:25Speaker 7: My dad just came home from the hospital after having
- 11:29Speaker 7: an incarcerated hernia. Yes!
- 11:31Speaker 3: No air horn to the hernia, but glad that he's home.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Is he good?
- 11:37Speaker 7: Oh, he's been doing great. They've been amazed with his
- 11:40Speaker 7: recovery so far.
- 11:41Speaker 2: What caused the hernia?
- 11:42Speaker 4: I honestly, I don't know.
- 11:44Speaker 7: He's had the hernia for years and it just came
- 11:47Speaker 7: to a head sometime last week.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Are you taking care of your dad and giving him
- 11:51Speaker 3: ice cream and snacks?
- 11:53Speaker 4: Here's the funny story.
- 11:54Speaker 7: He came out of the, when he came out of
- 11:56Speaker 7: the operating room, the first thing he asked for as
- 11:59Speaker 7: a joke was a cold beer, which made all the
- 12:01Speaker 7: nurses and the doctors laugh.
- 12:03Speaker 4: That's great.
- 12:03Speaker 7: And yesterday I came home after work and I bought
- 12:06Speaker 7: him a pack of new beer.
- 12:08Speaker 4: All beer.
- 12:08Speaker 7: All beer.
- 12:10Speaker 3: That just deserved another air horn.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Austin, you're great.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I love you.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Thank you for calling the show.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Have a good one. You're listening to The Alabama Show.
- 12:19Speaker 1: The following program is on demand.
- 12:21Speaker 3: There's a new general store and cafe that's opening near
- 12:25Speaker 3: Ruffner Mountain.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Okay, what has it got?
- 12:28Speaker 3: By the way, thanks for listening to The Alabama Show.
- 12:29Speaker 3: I'm Alabama with producer Blake. So it's going to be
- 12:32Speaker 3: called Providers General Store. It's going to be on Rugby Avenue.
- 12:35Speaker 3: They're planning on opening in November. But here's what they
- 12:39Speaker 3: plan on having that makes it kind of cool. Local
- 12:41Speaker 3: produce from Birmingham Micro Farms. So support our farmers.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Locally made soaps, candles, and other goods.
- 12:47Speaker 3: So if you're like a local, if you like to
- 12:49Speaker 3: make soap and candles, you could see if you could
- 12:51Speaker 3: sell your stuff there. pantry items and groceries but then
- 12:55Speaker 3: they're gonna have a cafe and the cafe is called
- 12:58Speaker 3: humble pie cafe and they'll have coffee breakfast or lunch i.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Kind of like that that's a good little vibe to
- 13:04Speaker 4: bring i.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Know it'll be good for the neighborhood or if you
- 13:06Speaker 3: like if you're going to hike ruffner mountain or go
- 13:09Speaker 3: visit ruffner mountain now you'll have a place to go
- 13:11Speaker 3: eat and to shop and do all the things so
- 13:13Speaker 3: november 2026 that's like two more months they they will
- 13:16Speaker 3: plan on being open.
- 13:18Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Producer Blake woke up and chose violence today.
- 13:24Speaker 4: It's a good day to be me.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with
- 13:30Speaker 3: producer Blake.
- 13:31Speaker 4: That's me.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Describe the shirt that you are wearing.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Well, it's a tank top of sorts. It's camouflaged.
- 13:38Speaker 5: And it has an eagle with a hog's head on
- 13:40Speaker 5: the front. And it's my favorite bands.
- 13:43Speaker 3: It's like when you see guys at the gym who cut.
- 13:46Speaker 2: The sleeves off and it's got like some room.
- 13:52Speaker 3: And you can, like, see under your arm, too.
- 13:56Speaker 4: It's a good day. I enjoy it.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I walked in. I was like, what are you wearing?
- 14:01Speaker 4: It's a fun shirt. I enjoyed it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Our coworker, JT, you said, do you think I'll get
- 14:06Speaker 2: in trouble today? And what did JT say?
- 14:08Speaker 4: He said, I'm not worried about you getting in trouble.
- 14:10Speaker 4: I'm worried about your branding. Oh, yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I don't know if I want to be photographed with
- 14:15Speaker 2: you in that shirt.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Well, this is the new me.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Dino is our boss. You hear him on this station.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Dino is going to have a meltdown today when he
- 14:25Speaker 3: sees you in this shirt.
- 14:26Speaker 5: He hates the shirts I choose, and I think this
- 14:29Speaker 5: one might be his least favorite.
- 14:30Speaker 4: He has not seen it yet, and I'm excited to
