- 0:54Speaker 2: five nine the Zone. We're powered by Pearl River Resort,

- 1:12Speaker 2: will be with us if anybody wants to come up
- 1:15Speaker 2: and hang out and listen to him do math problems
- 1:19Speaker 2: in his head and uh yeah, he may be on
- 1:22Speaker 2: the spectrum a little bit. That's okay. We still love
- 1:25Speaker 2: him all the love to mister elk Jerky and uh,
- 1:30Speaker 2: mister Oregon. He's an Oregon duckalom. He's not real thrilled
- 1:35Speaker 2: with his staff either. I mean, that's an interesting deal.
- 1:41Speaker 2: What was Dante more thinking, dude? I mean you were
- 1:46Speaker 2: gonna be a top five pick. Now you're going to
- 1:48Speaker 2: go into jammed up class in twenty twenty seven. Anyway,
- 1:51Speaker 2: we are the out of Bound show. We're brought to
- 1:53Speaker 2: you by Kessler Prime. Whether you're talking soft shell Crab
- 1:56Speaker 2: or the Rack Lamb or the bone in Rabbi Kessler
- 1:59Speaker 2: Prime dot com to make a reservation. Pair it with
- 2:02Speaker 2: One of my favorites is an Elijah Craggold Fashioned. But
- 2:05Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. We were in town the last
- 2:09Speaker 2: few days and we went to a really really I
- 2:13Speaker 2: mean a phenomenal sushi restaurant a couple of days ago,
- 2:17Speaker 2: and we went to one in Washington, d C. In
- 2:20Speaker 2: late May and that was great. But I got an
- 2:24Speaker 2: Elijah Cragg Manhattan, uh, and it was delicious. You compare
- 2:29Speaker 2: that with your New York strip, Kessoprime dot com to
- 2:32Speaker 2: make a reservation, Good morning, welcome in. We would like
- 2:35Speaker 2: to do another out of Bounds roll call. We need you,
- 2:38Speaker 2: out of bounds Nation, we need you. And so here's
- 2:43Speaker 2: what we're looking at. I want to hear from you
- 2:47Speaker 2: three different things. How are you listening to the show
- 2:51Speaker 2: on the text line six oh one eight eight five
- 2:54Speaker 2: three seven, seven six are you on one oh five
- 2:57Speaker 2: nine the Zone or streaming the show? Where are you
- 3:01Speaker 2: listening from? And give me your top five teams in
- 3:05Speaker 2: the SEC going into twenty twenty six. I'll go with
- 3:12Speaker 2: Georgia and then LSU and then Bama and then ole
- 3:18Speaker 2: Miss and then Texas. All right, and Bama will have
- 3:24Speaker 2: a better defense. Ole Miss will have a better quarterback
- 3:27Speaker 2: in that little group. Texas has a good quarterback. Of course,
- 3:32Speaker 2: they've got really good personnel. We'll see if Sark can
- 3:38Speaker 2: can turn the corner over there. And what is Pete
- 3:41Speaker 2: Golden going to be as a head coach? What do
- 3:44Speaker 2: you think? What do you think Pete Golding's gonna I mean,
- 3:47Speaker 2: you know, it's a crap shoot, total crap shoot with
- 3:52Speaker 2: majority of these not like Lane and Lane at LSU
- 3:55Speaker 2: is not a crapshoot anymore. Right, he goes to Florida,
- 3:58Speaker 2: Atlantic figures it out, goes to Ole Miss, unprecedented run
- 4:03Speaker 2: on nothing like that the last three years in the
- 4:07Speaker 2: state and then kappan off last year with an eleven
- 4:11Speaker 2: to one season, eleven and one in the SEC. Just lose,
- 4:18Speaker 2: you know, lose your starting quarterback. That Lane and Joe
- 4:21Speaker 2: Judge and others told everybody was a first round pick
- 4:24Speaker 2: in the NFL, and Trinidad Chambliss ends up being kind
- 4:28Speaker 2: of the star of the party last last year, right,
- 4:31Speaker 2: I mean, Fernando Mendoza was the guy two nationally and
- 4:37Speaker 2: Dante Moore had sizzle and Oregon one. But once once
- 4:42Speaker 2: old miss, you know, got up, got rolling, and you
- 4:45Speaker 2: realize that Trinidad was a highlight reel just because of
- 4:49Speaker 2: the Again, he's a techmobile player. I mean, he's he's
- 4:53Speaker 2: he's the guy that you want to pick right now,
- 4:57Speaker 2: what'd you say the college football playoff game? I mean
- 4:59Speaker 2: the college football game.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Is NCAA College Football twenty six?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Okay, all right, you know he's the guy that you
- 5:07Speaker 2: want as far as a video game guy, no doubt,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and so out of that, I mean, Gunner Stockton is
- 5:15Speaker 2: not the best quarterback, but I like what George has
- 5:20Speaker 2: done and retained in Kirby's Kirby. I know they've been
- 5:25Speaker 2: down the last couple of years. I don't expect them
- 5:28Speaker 2: to be dominant by any stretch, and I don't think
- 5:32Speaker 2: there's more than you know, a fingernail or a whisker
- 5:34Speaker 2: for the most part in this top five Georgia one.
- 5:38Speaker 2: What Lane's done at LSU. We all know that they
- 5:42Speaker 2: had some talent, he added to it. Expect big things
- 5:46Speaker 2: from them, although they will be challenged. You know, maybe
- 5:50Speaker 2: Clemson challenges them, but they will definitely have their hands
- 5:53Speaker 2: full of Oxford week three, September nineteenth. And then Bama.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Now here's the deal. Obama. They've got a quarterback, one
- 6:02Speaker 2: of the two quarterbacks that they go to. They don't
- 6:05Speaker 2: have any playing time under the belt. And but they're
- 6:09Speaker 2: expecting their best defense in a long time. So that's
- 6:14Speaker 2: that is a big deal. And can they run the football.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Javon James is going to start at right tackle from
- 6:19Speaker 2: Mississippi State. Nice Now, he played left tackle last year
- 6:25Speaker 2: and he couldn't blot. I mean, just God bless him.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I think it's a combination of, you know, you don't
- 6:30Speaker 2: have a good offensive line coach. I mean, Phil Loadholt
- 6:34Speaker 2: would be ranked sixteenth and offensive line coaches in the league,
- 6:37Speaker 2: and maybe Arkansas's would be t you know, I don't
- 6:40Speaker 2: I don't know exactly what Arkansas and Kentucky have at
- 6:46Speaker 2: on the offensive line, but I mean, you know, Vanderbilt's
- 6:49Speaker 2: much more, much better coached in the you know O
- 6:53Speaker 2: line than than MSU and South Carolina. Yeah, I would
- 7:01Speaker 2: think so too. I'm talking. I'm thinking of the bottom
- 7:03Speaker 2: feeder team right, no bottom tier Arkansas, MSU, Kentucky, South Carolina,
- 7:12Speaker 2: no Vandy.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Probably after after this year do they revert, like can
- 7:21Speaker 5: you do you put them back in the old Vandy spot.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I don't think they'll be that that ever again. Well
- 7:27Speaker 5: I'm not gonna say ever again.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Talking right, I mean I think that they can hang
- 7:33Speaker 2: in there and go five and seven. So I mean
- 7:35Speaker 2: Bandy for years was going one in eleven and two
- 7:37Speaker 2: and ten and they won ten games last year, so uh,
- 7:43Speaker 2: they won't this year. But but anyway, back to Javin
- 7:48Speaker 2: James is going to start at right tach. This is
- 7:52Speaker 2: going to be fascinating. Is he gonna be any good?
- 7:56Speaker 2: Bama is telling people that he was not well coached
- 8:00Speaker 2: and he was in the wrong position. And they have
- 8:02Speaker 2: now moved a freshman All American from right tackle to
- 8:07Speaker 2: right guard. Big deal. And Javin James is going to
- 8:11Speaker 2: start at right tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide and
- 8:15Speaker 2: we'll be able to see if they can run the ball.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Not early because they play East Carolina Game one, so
- 8:21Speaker 2: it doesn't matter. Jackson and I could go over there. Whatever.
- 8:24Speaker 2: They go to Kentucky Game two, probably still not that
- 8:27Speaker 2: defense will be enough. Florida stayed at home and then
- 8:31Speaker 2: we'll kind of start to get a little spicy. See
- 8:34Speaker 2: what happens there. But Bama's breaking in a new QB.
- 8:38Speaker 2: They didn't they didn't go to the portal like Lane's.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Lane has committed to going and getting someone who has
- 8:44Speaker 2: a ton of reps under his belt, no doubt. You know,
- 8:47Speaker 2: he gave that one year for Jackson Dart. It was
- 8:50Speaker 2: a little bit of a rough year, you know. He
- 8:53Speaker 2: went and got somebody who had not played that much.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I think he'd played four or five games at Southern
- 8:57Speaker 2: Cal right, but other than that since dark second year,
- 9:01Speaker 2: you know, Dart Dart junior senior year tons Oft and
- 9:06Speaker 2: then of course he inherited Matt Corral and Matt had
- 9:10Speaker 2: played some and then he got two years Matt. Last year,
- 9:14Speaker 2: Austin Simmons started off was not good. No, he was
- 9:18Speaker 2: throwing it to the other team and then he got hurt.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Trendad goes in and Trinidad doesn't though, but one pick
- 9:25Speaker 2: I think it was just one pick, oh yeah, which
- 9:29Speaker 2: is insane his decision making. He's probably the best decision maker. Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 2: in college football, I think so. We're live at the
- 9:42Speaker 2: Bake Plus Studio Steve Robertson at eight and thirty.

- 10:26Speaker 2: See Capitol one dot com for dt Coming up next,
- 10:28Speaker 2: who are your top five teams in the SEC? Going
- 10:31Speaker 2: into twenty twenty six? Let it rip on the Dancing
- 10:35Speaker 2: Rabbit golf text line bring it I'd like three questions.
- 10:39Speaker 2: You know what I've got? I came back with two
- 10:41Speaker 2: Tito's hats. I'll give away both hats. They're really good looking.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I'll give away both Tito's hats and some Tito's swag
- 10:51Speaker 2: for those of you that have already text. If you
- 10:54Speaker 2: answered all three questions, then you're entered to win. Going forward.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Whoever answers all three questions, you're entered to win a
- 11:04Speaker 2: Tito's Summer Prize pack. All right, so that works. Tito's
- 11:11Speaker 2: Summer Prize Pack. Those hats are really good looking, and
- 11:20Speaker 2: we'll do the hat. We'll do two winners, hat and
- 11:23Speaker 2: Tito's swag. Now, how do you enter to win? We
- 11:25Speaker 2: want three answers to three questions. Are you listening on
- 11:30Speaker 2: one oh five nine to zone or streaming the show?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Where are you listening from your basement? What town? And
- 11:39Speaker 2: then your top five teams in the SEC going into
- 11:44Speaker 2: twenty twenty six, top five teams. You know Oklahoma, that's
- 11:50Speaker 2: I don't think so. I know they made the College
- 11:53Speaker 2: Football but I mean we had a bunch of teams
- 11:54Speaker 2: to make the College Football Playoff that weren't that good, right,
- 11:57Speaker 2: I mean, good lord, they let Tulane and James Madison in,
- 11:59Speaker 2: which was unacceptable. But and the year before he had
- 12:04Speaker 2: SMU and Boise State. I mean, this is a weird deal.
- 12:07Speaker 2: But you know, Oklahoma was good on defense, not good
- 12:14Speaker 2: on offense. And I thought Obama team that was very
- 12:18Speaker 2: mad just went in there and after the first quarter
- 12:21Speaker 2: and a half of that game where Oklahoma dominated Alabama,
- 12:25Speaker 2: they woke up and just dominated Oklahoma the rest of
- 12:27Speaker 2: the night. So no, I don't think so. But let's
- 12:33Speaker 2: look at their schedule and see what the Oklahoma Sooners.
- 12:39Speaker 2: You know, they go to Starbull. I don't know that
- 12:42Speaker 2: they've ever been to Startbull. I can't remember that they have.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Old miss went to Oklahoma last year and won and
- 12:55Speaker 2: it wasn't close. Oklahoma couldn't do anything on open Pete
- 13:01Speaker 2: Golding had John Mattier's number, and that you know, I
- 13:08Speaker 2: think they won by two possessions, like twenty six or
- 13:10Speaker 2: twelve or something something like that. So so I can't
- 13:24Speaker 2: imagine Oklahoma going to Startville that maybe they did in
- 13:28Speaker 2: nineteen forty.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Seven nine, nineteen ninety nine. They didn't go to Startville
- 13:35Speaker 5: in nineteen ninety nine.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Okay, So, but now Oklahoma State in Mississippi State played
- 13:44Speaker 2: a home and home when Cheryl was there, and I
- 13:49Speaker 2: do remember the Cowboys, and that was pre Gundy. Actually,
- 13:52Speaker 2: excuse me, it was pretty less miles, which then Gundhy
- 13:55Speaker 2: took over and didn't step down until last year, which
- 13:58Speaker 2: is incredible. Like Mike Gundhy replaced Less Miles going to
- 14:03Speaker 2: LSU and just stepped down from Oklahoma State last year,
- 14:08Speaker 2: so they've had two coaches in the last twenty six years.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Less was there for a minute. He upset Oklahoma once,
- 14:18Speaker 2: maybe twice, and then that was enough for him. He
- 14:22Speaker 2: was a Michigan man and he played for Shimbeckler and
- 14:24Speaker 2: that that's kind of a lot of that stuff has
- 14:27Speaker 2: burned off in this new world of sports and college
- 14:30Speaker 2: football that back then that was that got eighties and
- 14:34Speaker 2: boosters hot and bothered, and so Less wanted a place
- 14:39Speaker 2: where it's hard to win. Although Mike then went in
- 14:41Speaker 2: there and won eighth to ten game. Mike Gundy at
- 14:44Speaker 2: won eight to ten games basically for twenty years. But yeah,
- 14:47Speaker 2: less Less parlayed that into lsu first ever matchup. And
- 14:52Speaker 2: by the way, I don't think Oklahoma will be bad
- 14:54Speaker 2: because they have players. I mean, Venables is a recruiting maniac.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I just don't. I think he'll be a typical Will
- 15:00Speaker 2: must Champ type head coach, a little bit better possibly,
- 15:04Speaker 2: but not be able to get the offense right. He's
- 15:08Speaker 2: just one of those guys that will not be able
- 15:11Speaker 2: to get the offense right, and he hasn't since he
- 15:14Speaker 2: since he's been there. I mean, they've had a few
- 15:17Speaker 2: good moments, but for the most part they've been pretty
- 15:19Speaker 2: mad and then a lot of times they're pretty damned
- 15:22Speaker 2: physical and good on defense. That's enable sting. Y'all remember
- 15:25Speaker 2: his run. Well, he was the DC at Oklahoma, but
- 15:28Speaker 2: he really became a big name. I'd take that back.
- 15:32Speaker 2: He got some love under Stoops. Yeah, but when they
- 15:36Speaker 2: went to Clemson and and and he and Dabo got going,
- 15:41Speaker 2: that was the deal for Bidable, so no doubt. And
- 15:43Speaker 2: he saw the riding on the wall. When Bob Stoop's brother,
- 15:48Speaker 2: Mike Stoops got fired from Arizona, I think that was
- 15:53Speaker 2: burn Maybe that let him go, but I can't remember. Anyway,
- 15:57Speaker 2: he knew when he came back he was never going
- 15:59Speaker 2: to be the guy though he's a one hundred times
- 16:02Speaker 2: better defensive coordinator. And and Venables was like, I got
- 16:08Speaker 2: to find it out. Davo had just gotten beat like
- 16:11Speaker 2: seventy to twenty one in like the Orange Bowl by
- 16:14Speaker 2: West Virginia. Yeah, and was kind of on the ropes
- 16:17Speaker 2: and they were trying to figure out what they wanted
- 16:18Speaker 2: to do. He made one of the greatest hires in
- 16:21Speaker 2: college football as far as coordinators, and he and Brent
- 16:25Speaker 2: teamed up and Clemson went to four national championships and
- 16:29Speaker 2: won two. Wow, and say what you want about Davo
- 16:34Speaker 2: now and and not warming and embracing nil, But y'all
- 16:40Speaker 2: would all give you know what to go to.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Four national championship games and win two of them? Who
- 16:46Speaker 5: now and have a heisman?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Went? Or do you have two? Yeah? Did Lawrence win it?
- 16:53Speaker 2: DeShawn did? Did Lawrence did? Yeah? Okay, yeah, wow, Wow
- 16:59Speaker 2: that's uh. Diesel Golfer says, I'm passing through Carthage, headed north,
- 17:07Speaker 2: then a quick trip to the Zelia's nice. He's got
- 17:12Speaker 2: L s U one, Georgia two. I can't argue with that,
- 17:17Speaker 2: A and M three. Okay, Bama at four and Hell
- 17:23Speaker 2: stayed at five. Then he says, who's Pete Golden? Go
- 17:27Speaker 2: to Hell? Old miss hashtag ob all right, Lawrence did
- 17:31Speaker 2: not win the heisman? Wow?
- 17:33Speaker 5: Davanta Smith this whenever they left the wide receiver Ohio State, Bama, Bama.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Davanta Smith? Is he the Eagles is He's kind of
- 17:46Speaker 2: gone quiet the last couple of years, quietly productive. Okay,
- 17:51Speaker 2: there's a hell of a little player. Yeah, may have
- 17:54Speaker 2: been a little overbord given him the hosban.
- 17:56Speaker 5: Okay, all right, all right, so Oklahoma and a half
- 18:02Speaker 5: win total. Ooh, that feels like it feels tough.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I think they're all tough now with the nine game
- 18:09Speaker 2: conference schedule that we're gonna have to kind of get
- 18:12Speaker 2: a couple of years under our belt to see how
- 18:14Speaker 2: many teams go seven and two, how mean go six
- 18:17Speaker 2: and three, and how many go five and four and
- 18:19Speaker 2: four and five. It's also going to be the years
- 18:21Speaker 2: where some years you'll draw five home games, some years
- 18:24Speaker 2: you'll draw four home games. Hey, The Out of Bounds
- 18:28Speaker 2: Show is brought to you by the Rogue Men's Store.

- 21:28Speaker 2: We welcome in Steve Robertson to the show. Steve, Good morning, How.
- 21:31Speaker 4: You doing man, I'm doing great.
- 21:33Speaker 2: How are you doing good, buddy? Well, I'm doing better
- 21:36Speaker 2: than our listeners that are asking a lot of questions
- 21:40Speaker 2: about Mississippi State football recruiting or the lack thereof. So
- 21:45Speaker 2: my text line has been full of this for a
- 21:49Speaker 2: couple of weeks and we had to address it with you.
- 21:53Speaker 2: How concerned are you with the Mississippi State football high
- 21:58Speaker 2: school recruiting.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Well, I am concerned, and to suggest otherwise would to
- 22:05Speaker 1: be disingenuous. I mean, because you don't you shouldn't lose
- 22:09Speaker 1: prospects of interest from within thirty forty minutes of your campus.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I mean, we've built the program on young men from
- 22:15Speaker 1: Ackerman and Lewisville and you know, places like that.
- 22:19Speaker 4: And that's the thing.
- 22:20Speaker 1: You know, when you're competing head to head with Old
- 22:22Speaker 1: miss you're gonna split most of the players in the state.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But the guys that kind of grow up in the
- 22:28Speaker 1: shadow of your own goalposts, you'll expect to get those,
- 22:30Speaker 1: and to lose those.
- 22:31Speaker 4: To Old miss A is a gut punch.
- 22:33Speaker 1: I mean, granted, the process is over, but what we
- 22:35Speaker 1: have seen in recent years with these summer official visits
- 22:39Speaker 1: is the majority of June commitments are sticking.
- 22:43Speaker 4: And that's important to understand.
- 22:46Speaker 2: All Right, Arnett and brought just got there. So Golding
- 22:51Speaker 2: has been in the state, as you know. First of all,
- 22:54Speaker 2: he's been at Alabama recruiting the state of Mississippi. Then
- 22:57Speaker 2: at ole Miss. As you know, so Ed's DC. Now
- 22:59Speaker 2: he's a head coach, Steve, So when you when you
- 23:03Speaker 2: flip out of Coleman Hustler and you're as bad as
- 23:05Speaker 2: you are on the defensive side of the football, it's
- 23:08Speaker 2: a tough sell for Arnett and he's just now cultivating
- 23:14Speaker 2: these relationships. I'm Steve, I guess in January and February
- 23:18Speaker 2: leading into the big June commitments that you're talking about.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and not to mention too, I mean, you know
- 23:24Speaker 1: state's had three consecutive losing seasons. I mean you look
- 23:27Speaker 1: at what Old Miss has done the last three years.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Ole Miss is the sex of your team within the state,
- 23:32Speaker 1: and anybody denies that.
- 23:33Speaker 4: As just being dishonest with themselves. That's the reality of it. Now.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Granted they've made a coaching change, but there is some
- 23:40Speaker 1: continuity there. As you mentioned, those relationships carry over. I
- 23:43Speaker 1: mean Pete Golding's been, you know, recruiting some of the
- 23:46Speaker 1: defensive kids and say were in middle school, right they
- 23:48Speaker 1: were coming to Old Miss camp. They were going to
- 23:50Speaker 1: Mississippi State camp. So Zach Barnett is a new name
- 23:54Speaker 1: to many of these players. Well, Pete Golding's the guy
- 23:57Speaker 1: that hey, I remember we had you in campus the
- 24:00Speaker 1: seventh grader, right, I mean, you know, those kinds of
- 24:02Speaker 1: things matter. I mean, and for young people, when you're
- 24:05Speaker 1: making the first adult decision of your life, you want
- 24:08Speaker 1: it to be as comfortable as possible. And that's what
- 24:11Speaker 1: continuity breaths.
- 24:13Speaker 2: What are your expectations from here? Is it basically come
- 24:19Speaker 2: down to winning some football games in September and October
- 24:22Speaker 2: and November and getting some kind of juice and buzz
- 24:25Speaker 2: to start to change. Not that they're going to get
- 24:30Speaker 2: some of the players that already committed like you're talking about,
- 24:33Speaker 2: but to start to make Hay in the in the
- 24:36Speaker 2: next class or even some of the border state prospects.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Steve Well, absolutely. You know, you can always sell a
- 24:44Speaker 1: promise for so long. You've got to have some productivity.
- 24:47Speaker 1: And you go back to the Dan Moullen era. Right
- 24:49Speaker 1: when Dan first got here, Right, all Dan had is like, hey,
- 24:54Speaker 1: I coached Tim Tebow. But people were still giving, you know,
- 24:58Speaker 1: Urban all the credit for that. They're like, oh, well,
- 25:01Speaker 1: Dan couldn't win without Urban. And I think we saw
- 25:03Speaker 1: eventually that, you know, Urban struggle without Dan. But in
- 25:06Speaker 1: the beginning, all Dan Mullen had to shall was a vision.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Well then after twenty ten and you beat Georgia, you
- 25:14Speaker 1: beat Florida, you go crush Michigan, you know in the
- 25:18Speaker 1: in the bowl game, in the Gator Bowl.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Well, now all of a.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Sudden, it's like, hey, well this guy does know what
- 25:23Speaker 1: he's talking about.
- 25:24Speaker 4: And I think that's kind of one.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Of the things that Jeff Levy has to do this
- 25:27Speaker 1: year is granted, you've had the benefit of the transfer poole,
- 25:31Speaker 1: but you've also had the detriment of the transfer pool. Right,
- 25:35Speaker 1: So you've had a lot of guys leave. Some of
- 25:37Speaker 1: them were your choice, some of them weren't. But you've
- 25:40Speaker 1: got to win some football games to get kids to
- 25:42Speaker 1: buy in.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Steve robertson jeans page dot com, which one hurt the most?
- 25:50Speaker 1: I don't the benj Arvis Schuemaker thing from from Ackerman
- 25:53Speaker 1: in Chalk Tawk County that hurts, But the Mitchell Turner
- 25:56Speaker 1: thing hurts a lot too.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Now you learn a lot in hindsight, right.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I was told basically two days after Turner committed announce
- 26:05Speaker 1: his commitment to Old Miss, and he had told ol
- 26:07Speaker 1: Miss before he visited Mississippi State. Like the day before
- 26:12Speaker 1: he began his official in stargled, he had already told
- 26:15Speaker 1: Old Miss that he was coming. He just wanted to
- 26:17Speaker 1: get through his visit in Misissippi State. And then he
- 26:19Speaker 1: gets the state, has a better time than he expected.
- 26:22Speaker 1: He's conflicted for a little bit, but ultimately picked All Miss.
- 26:25Speaker 1: So in many respects, while State may have caused a
- 26:28Speaker 1: little bit of a wobble there, things went to script
- 26:31Speaker 1: for Old Miss because they were already in a good
- 26:33Speaker 1: position heading.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Into the visit.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Ideally, how many players would you like for them to
- 26:38Speaker 2: shigne in high school?
- 26:41Speaker 4: Well? I think that number one. Can you retain them? Right?
- 26:43Speaker 1: High school recruiting, And we see it in our own readership, right,
- 26:46Speaker 1: I mean used to.
- 26:48Speaker 4: You know, recruiting is what drove the industry.
- 26:51Speaker 1: But what fans are showing us is that, hey, we're
- 26:54Speaker 1: interested in high school recruiting, but it's not like it
- 26:56Speaker 1: once was.
- 26:57Speaker 4: We're more interested in portal recruiting.
- 26:59Speaker 1: And so I think if you're Mississippi State, what I
- 27:01Speaker 1: would do is I would probably sign about twenty a
- 27:04Speaker 1: year and then spend everything else in the portal you
- 27:08Speaker 1: used to. I would say, hey, you got your twenty
- 27:09Speaker 1: five guys, and I remember what you know, when you
- 27:11Speaker 1: signed thirty, people are like, oh my gosh, they're over signing.
- 27:14Speaker 4: You know what.
- 27:15Speaker 1: The game has changed so much in the last ten years,
- 27:18Speaker 1: and so you can't go over commit to high school
- 27:22Speaker 1: players because there's no guarantee they're going to be with
- 27:24Speaker 1: you for two or three years, and so you're constantly
- 27:27Speaker 1: having a supplement. That's why it's so important to get
- 27:29Speaker 1: kids that grow up cheering for Mississippi State. Kids that
- 27:33Speaker 1: are you know, can share the experience with their families.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And that's that's what makes all this localized recruiting and
- 27:39Speaker 1: favorable miss so painful for Mississippi State because kids from
- 27:43Speaker 1: Lewisville and Ackerman.
- 27:44Speaker 4: You don't expect those guys to transfer, and now all.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Of a sudden, that's kind of eroading what you're hoping
- 27:50Speaker 1: to build on your high school recruiting base.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Right because thirty five portal players a year is not sustainable,
- 27:55Speaker 2: is it? Steve?
- 27:56Speaker 4: Absolutely not?
- 27:57Speaker 1: And you know, I know some people are trying to
- 27:59Speaker 1: build a program on then, and you see so much
- 28:01Speaker 1: up and down with it. You've got to have a
- 28:03Speaker 1: nucleus of high school players that stick with you just
- 28:07Speaker 1: because of the fact if your portal reliant, I mean,
- 28:09Speaker 1: and we see it push over to baseball too. You
- 28:12Speaker 1: remember in Michigan State, like everybody's like, oh my gosh,
- 28:15Speaker 1: they're the portal kings.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Look at what they did, and the two years later
- 28:18Speaker 4: everybody's fired. Right.
- 28:19Speaker 1: You can't be so reliant on the portal because at
- 28:22Speaker 1: some point you're going to land a bad portal class.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I mean, just look at what Jay Johnson had an
- 28:26Speaker 1: LSU this year, right, I mean inform basicball. Yeah, you
- 28:31Speaker 1: simply cannot continue to bet your livelihood on a portal
- 28:37Speaker 1: class every single year.
- 28:39Speaker 4: At some point, you've got to have a strong nucleus.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Didn't you tell me. O'Connor wants to start the process
- 28:44Speaker 2: of shifting more to hot I mean, he he knows
- 28:47Speaker 2: he's got to use and leverage the portal, but but
- 28:51Speaker 2: he he wants to get it to where he can
- 28:53Speaker 2: get some classes in and retain them and not have
- 28:57Speaker 2: to go as heavy portal in the future. Maybe after
- 29:00Speaker 2: this year.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I think ideally what O'Connor would like to do
- 29:03Speaker 1: is number one, when you're in Mississippi State, your LSU,
- 29:06Speaker 1: your Ole miss or Arkansas, you've got to go out
- 29:09Speaker 1: and get as much competition as you can for your roster, right,
- 29:13Speaker 1: so you're never going to be in a situation where
- 29:15Speaker 1: you're not working the portal. But I think O'Connor's last
- 29:18Speaker 1: year at Virginia, he signed five or six guys out
- 29:21Speaker 1: of the portal.
- 29:22Speaker 4: I don't know if you can do that in the SEC.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I think it's probably got to be somewhere around ten,
- 29:26Speaker 1: depending on how things play out, because with the five
- 29:29Speaker 1: or five, things may change a little bit, maybe you're
- 29:32Speaker 1: a little less reliant. But yeah, he said before, you've
- 29:35Speaker 1: got to have players that buy into your program and
- 29:38Speaker 1: stay with you three years, and then you supplement each
- 29:41Speaker 1: year out of the portal. He said that last year's
- 29:43Speaker 1: class would probably be the biggest portal class he ever signed,
- 29:45Speaker 1: and that makes sense.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Bringing in his own players.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Sure.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Yeah, this year's class is still.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Going to probably settle somewhere around twelve thirteen, but it's
- 29:53Speaker 1: going to be smarter than last year. And I think
- 29:54Speaker 1: next year maybe you can go down even more.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Steve robertson jeans Page dot Com two four seven Sports
- 30:00Speaker 2: on the out of Bounds show back to football and
- 30:02Speaker 2: then we'll do some baseball here in a minute. All right,
- 30:07Speaker 2: So there's some buzz on Camaro Taylor, right, and we
- 30:12Speaker 2: know he's talented, but you know, he goes down to
- 30:15Speaker 2: Manning passing Academy, people get excited. You like to see
- 30:18Speaker 2: that the fans are getting excited about something. If you
- 30:25Speaker 2: take the spring steve from your sources, you know, did
- 30:29Speaker 2: he take a couple of steps forward? And do you
- 30:33Speaker 2: believe as a true sophomore he can really be the
- 30:36Speaker 2: leader of the team and the driving force on offense.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Well, I think he already is.
- 30:42Speaker 1: And again just talking to people in the building, even
- 30:45Speaker 1: from the first day that he got here. You know,
- 30:47Speaker 1: he's that gregarious personality, already has some credibility when he
- 30:52Speaker 1: walks in the room and now all of a sudden,
- 30:56Speaker 1: you know, you put him out there, let him start
- 30:58Speaker 1: the egg ball, and he had a pretty good game.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Wouldn't say it's a great game. You have a pretty
- 31:01Speaker 1: good game, and you have pretty good Bowl game. The
- 31:04Speaker 1: step that we've heard that he's made is decision making,
- 31:07Speaker 1: you know during the spring is just being more comfortable
- 31:10Speaker 1: in the offense, knowing where the checkdowns are, understanding his
- 31:14Speaker 1: progressions and not being a one read quarterback. And so
- 31:18Speaker 1: that's what you expect long term when you begin to
- 31:20Speaker 1: get some reps. And that's really what he needs is reps.
- 31:22Speaker 1: He has all the talent in the world. And the
- 31:24Speaker 1: fun thing for me is, like, you know, we've covered
- 31:27Speaker 1: this young man as a recruit out of high school,
- 31:30Speaker 1: you know, and we've understood the magnetism that he has, right,
- 31:36Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, he goes down to
- 31:37Speaker 1: Many Passion Academy and there's all these people that have
- 31:39Speaker 1: never seen him play on TV or in person. They're like,
- 31:42Speaker 1: holy smokes, seventy yards just with the flick of the rest.
- 31:46Speaker 4: I mean, you know, he has all the physical skills.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Now it's hey, can we, within the framework of this
- 31:51Speaker 1: offense utilize him in a way that gives stated a
- 31:54Speaker 1: chance in the winning season this year? And that's really
- 31:56Speaker 1: the question. But if you're a Mississippi State fan you've
- 31:59Speaker 1: needed something to get excited about, Camaro Taylor is absolutely
- 32:02Speaker 1: worth your attention.
- 32:03Speaker 2: What if they're just a little bit better or not,
- 32:07Speaker 2: I mean on the offensive line, I'm not sure it's
- 32:10Speaker 2: going to be as drastic or as big a step
- 32:13Speaker 2: as some people are talking about. But if they're a
- 32:15Speaker 2: little bit better and now You've got a mobile dual
- 32:18Speaker 2: threat QB along with Pluff. That makes them even better too, right,
- 32:23Speaker 2: the unit, and.
- 32:25Speaker 1: It opens up to ourpo game even more because you
- 32:27Speaker 1: have to respect Camrio's ability to run the football and
- 32:31Speaker 1: a healthy Pluff bothwell is a problem for a lot
- 32:34Speaker 1: of people, right, And the fact that Camarrio can be
- 32:38Speaker 1: a plus runner opens up more opportunities for Fluff. And
- 32:42Speaker 1: so I think that's the aspect of it. And you know, yeah,
- 32:44Speaker 1: I'm I'm with you. I do expect the offerensive line
- 32:46Speaker 1: to be better. I'm not going to delude myself into
- 32:49Speaker 1: thinking three weeks into the season this is going to
- 32:52Speaker 1: be you know, the ninety five.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Cowboys or anything like that.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Right, but the left tackle spot is still you know,
- 32:58Speaker 1: we'll see you know, of course, the team's up for
- 33:00Speaker 1: Perkins is the guy that Jeff Levy says is the
- 33:02Speaker 1: most improved while I'm in on the team.
- 33:04Speaker 4: He's got an NFL talent.
- 33:05Speaker 1: You get Miles mcday works on one side, Blake Stein's
- 33:09Speaker 1: back on the other.
- 33:10Speaker 2: With when Levy said that about Shumper, so he red
- 33:17Speaker 2: shirted last year. Uh, you know, Levy's one of the
- 33:22Speaker 2: most optimistic people in the world. So were you surprised
- 33:26Speaker 2: that he went that far with somebody who's never had
- 33:29Speaker 2: a rep in college.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yes, And I asked him a little bit later in
- 33:36Speaker 1: the spring, you know, because the first time he makes
- 33:38Speaker 1: the comment, you're like, Okay, maybe the kid has had
- 33:40Speaker 1: a good week of practice.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Right.
- 33:42Speaker 1: We get to the end of the spring and he
- 33:45Speaker 1: couldn't have been more positive about Trumper. And you know,
- 33:49Speaker 1: you go out and sign eight guys out of the
- 33:51Speaker 1: portal and then the guy that you feel like is
- 33:55Speaker 1: the most advanced is a guy that red shirted within
- 33:57Speaker 1: your program last year, you know, and.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Which I think kind of speaks the point we're making earlier.
- 34:02Speaker 4: You've got to have a balance.
- 34:03Speaker 1: You can't just go out and expect to get the
- 34:05Speaker 1: plug and play portal guy. You've got to have some
- 34:07Speaker 1: guys that are willing to develop, and your coaches have
- 34:09Speaker 1: got to bring.
- 34:10Speaker 4: The best out of them.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And so I think having Schumfert as a guy that
- 34:14Speaker 1: could play left or right tackle gives you a lot
- 34:16Speaker 1: of flexibility.
- 34:17Speaker 4: I think they have three tackles right now. They can
- 34:19Speaker 4: play within this league.
- 34:22Speaker 1: And what's so crazy is you talk to everybody in
- 34:25Speaker 1: the building, they'll tell you the interior offensive line is
- 34:27Speaker 1: the strength. You know, you feel like with Chester slotting
- 34:30Speaker 1: in their guard and prove them at the other side.
- 34:32Speaker 1: And these are guys that have sec snaps under their belt.
- 34:35Speaker 1: So yeah, I feel a lot better. But you know,
- 34:39Speaker 1: this time last year, we felt pretty good because you
- 34:41Speaker 1: had so many returning pieces on the offensive line.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Then Steen goes down for the year, Albert Reese has
- 34:46Speaker 4: hurt much of the year, Luke work has hurt much
- 34:48Speaker 4: of the year.
- 34:49Speaker 1: And then you got to throw guys out there that
- 34:51Speaker 1: aren't ready to play, and you know, with a quarterback
- 34:54Speaker 1: that just didn't have the ability to kind of feel
- 34:56Speaker 1: the pressure at times, and you saw what we got. Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 1: it should be a better group provide of everybody can
- 35:02Speaker 1: stay healthy.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Hight Steve robertson jeans page dot com on the Farm
- 35:07Speaker 2: Bureau Insurance guest line. Outside of Evans, who's the playmaker
- 35:12Speaker 2: for Camaro? We talked about fluff in the backfield. I'm
- 35:15Speaker 2: talking about receiver slots, tight ends, whatever you want to
- 35:18Speaker 2: call him, Steve.
- 35:21Speaker 4: That is we talk about you bringing these receivers in.
- 35:25Speaker 1: You know, Marquise Johnson's the guy that's got a tremendous
- 35:27Speaker 1: amount of ability Uh.
- 35:29Speaker 4: I didn't think he had a great spring.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I've heard it's one of those things where he's just
- 35:32Speaker 1: trying to pick it up a little bit. But you know,
- 35:35Speaker 1: he's a guy that could be interesting. But you know,
- 35:38Speaker 1: I wrote about this yesterday. Everything said, well, how do
- 35:41Speaker 1: we replace Brenon Thompson. Will you replaced Brenda Thompson the
- 35:44Speaker 1: same way you replaced Kevin Coleman? Right, both those guys
- 35:46Speaker 1: are in the league now. Once Kevin Coleman came in here,
- 35:51Speaker 1: he had never done anything in college. He had the
- 35:54Speaker 1: best year of his college career. Transfer to Missouri and
- 35:56Speaker 1: Regresses had one touchdown catch last year. Granted up as
- 36:00Speaker 1: a fit round pick of the Dolphins. Chad Bumpus and
- 36:03Speaker 1: Jeff Levy both have told me it's not the player.
- 36:07Speaker 1: It's that position within this offense that is going to
- 36:10Speaker 1: be a productive position in this offense because it's designed
- 36:14Speaker 1: for that. And so everybody freaked out, well, how in
- 36:17Speaker 1: the world that we replaced Kevin Coleman, Oh, you signed
- 36:19Speaker 1: this kid from Oklahoma.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Brenon Thomas has never done anything.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Ali does is go out instead of school record, you know,
- 36:25Speaker 1: And so it's not the personality, it's the principal within
- 36:28Speaker 1: the offense. And so I think because of the fact
- 36:32Speaker 1: that you know, through Jeff Levy's career, they have found
- 36:36Speaker 1: a way to get that particular position to football and
- 36:38Speaker 1: get them in matchups or advantageous, You're going to see
- 36:41Speaker 1: a lot of that this year.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Steve robertson jeans page dot Com two four seven. Sports
- 36:48Speaker 2: people are frustrated with the the Road Dogs Tour getting
- 36:53Speaker 2: canceled and there's just not a lot of buzz and
- 36:55Speaker 2: people aren't out, you know, shaking hands and kissing babies
- 36:59Speaker 2: with the mississip if he stay faithful. What's your reaction
- 37:01Speaker 2: to that, Steve?
- 37:04Speaker 1: Someone that's warranted, you know, And I know a lot
- 37:06Speaker 1: of people have said, hey, you know, with all these
- 37:08Speaker 1: new expenditures and reap share and stuff, and things have
- 37:10Speaker 1: to get cut. But you know, I see a lot
- 37:11Speaker 1: of other schools out there doing that, and quite frankly,
- 37:15Speaker 1: I think in times of distress, that's when you need
- 37:18Speaker 1: to be more visible. It's not just when hey, things
- 37:21Speaker 1: are going great. You know, we got back Prescott, we
- 37:24Speaker 1: got Ben Mullum. You know, we got a chance to
- 37:26Speaker 1: go compete for the SEC West. You know, those years
- 37:29Speaker 1: are fun, but they're not as needful. When you're struggling
- 37:32Speaker 1: a little bit. To create some enthusiasm for the program,
- 37:36Speaker 1: you've got to go manufacture that. I think you have
- 37:38Speaker 1: to go out there and you have to be visible.
- 37:39Speaker 1: You have to answer those difficult questions at times. But
- 37:43Speaker 1: the main thing is people just want to be heard
- 37:45Speaker 1: and they want to be seen, and I just don't
- 37:47Speaker 1: think you can accomplish that and start ball.
- 37:49Speaker 4: I think you've got to get out and go. And again,
- 37:52Speaker 4: I don't know all.
- 37:53Speaker 1: The details behind the decision, but I know if it
- 37:57Speaker 1: were me and my organization and my business and we
- 38:00Speaker 1: were in times of crisis, I would be there. I
- 38:03Speaker 1: would go out there and speak to my benefactors and
- 38:05Speaker 1: the shareholders within my own program, and I would provide
- 38:08Speaker 1: them some level of assurance of you know what we're
- 38:11Speaker 1: doing to get to where we want to be.
- 38:14Speaker 2: I couldn't agree more. Let's go to baseball. Give me
- 38:18Speaker 2: how would you sum up O'Connor's portal class to date?
- 38:26Speaker 1: Okay, and I love the offensive pieces and we knew
- 38:29Speaker 1: kind of going into this thing, you had to prioritize
- 38:32Speaker 1: the bullpen because you weren't going to be able to
- 38:34Speaker 1: get bona fide weekend starters to come in here. Know
- 38:37Speaker 1: when you're returning your entire week in rotation, you may
- 38:40Speaker 1: get a spot starter. And listen, you're never going to
- 38:43Speaker 1: go through the full year with the savory guys. You
- 38:45Speaker 1: need a four starter. You need to cultivate a younger
- 38:47Speaker 1: guy to be your midwek guy. But you can never
- 38:49Speaker 1: have enough starters. But it's difficult to get people because
- 38:53Speaker 1: their agents are all telling them, even the relievers, hey,
- 38:55Speaker 1: you need to go somewhere you can start right. But
- 38:59Speaker 1: I think the offensively, there's no ace rees in this group. Okay,
- 39:03Speaker 1: let's just go ahead and settle that. But I think
- 39:07Speaker 1: it as a collective, it's probably the best offensive class
- 39:11Speaker 1: that we've ever signed in the portal.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Uh.
- 39:14Speaker 1: And then you go out and you get some bullpen
- 39:15Speaker 1: pieces and everybody knows how many games last year do
- 39:19Speaker 1: we get a great start and then couldn't close the ballgate.
- 39:21Speaker 1: I go back and think about Texas, Texas A and
- 39:23Speaker 1: M You know, uh, those.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Are games you know Arkansas for that matter.
- 39:28Speaker 1: You know, you look at so many of these things
- 39:30Speaker 1: when we had bullpen issues. Now, granted, you lose Ryan
- 39:34Speaker 1: McPherson for two months, lose William Kirk for the year.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Guys have to move off. But this is Mississippi State, Okay.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Nobody's ever going to say it's okay to have a
- 39:43Speaker 1: lack of depth at Mississippi State. And I think O'Connor
- 39:47Speaker 1: is taking steps to ensure that that's never a convenient
- 39:49Speaker 1: excuse for anybody.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Okay, And so the starting rotate, you know, Tomas McPherson
- 39:57Speaker 2: and Duke are back, and Jack Bauer could come Pete
- 40:00Speaker 2: for one of those spots. Is that there?
- 40:02Speaker 1: Yeah, And then you know, we'll see what happens with
- 40:04Speaker 1: you know, William Kirk, you know, I mean, you know,
- 40:07Speaker 1: with him and he was a guy too that was
- 40:10Speaker 1: you know, if he gets he stays healthy, you know,
- 40:13Speaker 1: Billingsley remains a bullpen piece, right and uh, you know,
- 40:17Speaker 1: of course Bill's and I headed the Coastal Carolina and
- 40:19Speaker 1: they're they're going to try to turn him into a
- 40:21Speaker 1: weekend starter.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And I think he's got good stuff. I wish him
- 40:24Speaker 2: the best.
- 40:26Speaker 1: And in that league, right, I mean you begin to
- 40:29Speaker 1: kind of think about, you know, maybe jumping from JUCO
- 40:31Speaker 1: to the SEC and then being forced into these roles,
- 40:33Speaker 1: which good off morn he can chew, but I'll tell
- 40:35Speaker 1: you what, the kid did not cower down. And uh,
- 40:38Speaker 1: and and I wish him the best. I mean he's
- 40:40Speaker 1: I traded some text with him after he committed to
- 40:42Speaker 1: Coastal and just wish him the best.
- 40:44Speaker 4: And uh, they got big plans for him.
- 40:46Speaker 1: And that's the thing too, if you begin to think
- 40:48Speaker 1: about him half after a year with Parker and how
- 40:51Speaker 1: much he learned. And now you've got the five to
- 40:54Speaker 1: five right, So yeah, he's a guy that maybe maybe
- 40:59Speaker 1: work his way into you know, a middle round pick
- 41:02Speaker 1: within a year or so.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Who knows, right, all right, the one picture you're excited
- 41:06Speaker 2: about in the O'Connor Parker landed the portal, I got
- 41:10Speaker 2: a minute.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I really like the shin Flud kid. There's some guys
- 41:16Speaker 1: and that obviously has some ability. But what I like
- 41:19Speaker 1: about the Shinflot guy, he's a left handed and he's
- 41:22Speaker 1: kind of a kind of a he's kind of got
- 41:24Speaker 1: a different delivery.
- 41:26Speaker 4: But that change up is absolutely incredible.
- 41:28Speaker 1: And uh, I think that he is a guy that
- 41:31Speaker 1: makes you a lot better just because of the fact
- 41:34Speaker 1: that he's not just a matchup guy. He could you
- 41:36Speaker 1: could ride h for three or four innings and you
- 41:39Speaker 1: need guys that have some flex like that. You don't
- 41:41Speaker 1: just need a lefty left the specialist. I mean, you
- 41:43Speaker 1: need one of those guys on your roster. But when
- 41:44Speaker 1: you've got a guy like him who can start for you,
- 41:47Speaker 1: he can be a longer lever, or he can be
- 41:49Speaker 1: a closer for you.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Uh.
- 41:50Speaker 1: That gives you a lot of options to work with.
- 41:52Speaker 1: And so I really like him as the addition. And
- 41:55Speaker 1: I think they've done well. And you know, we'll see
- 41:57Speaker 1: what this high school class will. It's like alfter the
- 42:00Speaker 1: weekend with the draft. Uh, and then you know you
- 42:03Speaker 1: may have to recalibrate make some other adjustments. But yeah,
- 42:06Speaker 1: I think Missipisaid is going to bring an extremely talented
- 42:09Speaker 1: group of campus.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I got thirty seconds. Give me a percentage on Menues Kalka.
- 42:15Speaker 1: You know, I would lean more towards fifty five percent
- 42:19Speaker 1: of him signing, just because you don't reclass to come
- 42:22Speaker 1: to college, right if you reclass for the draft or
- 42:25Speaker 1: on the baseball side of things. And I think the
- 42:28Speaker 1: fact that his dad was a minor league baseball player
- 42:31Speaker 1: that made a triple A.
- 42:32Speaker 4: He's mentally he's prepared.
- 42:33Speaker 1: For this, probably as well as anybody in the country,
- 42:36Speaker 1: but I understand the number is significant. You know, he's
- 42:41Speaker 1: not gonna you know, he's got a great situation and
- 42:43Speaker 1: he's not gonna sign for peanuts. So I can't totally
- 42:46Speaker 1: rule it out, but I would say, as of today,
- 42:49Speaker 1: I would lean a little bit more towards him signing
- 42:51Speaker 1: just because of his actions.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Steve robertson Jean's page dot com. We'll be back in
- 42:55Speaker 2: a second.
