- 1:33Speaker 1: Do you just want to get to the show? Let's
- 1:35Speaker 1: do it well it hurts and Zane Smith, these two
- 1:37Speaker 1: individuals turn left for a living. They grew up together
- 1:40Speaker 1: in the same area doing Baja. Also Noah Gragson, friend
- 1:43Speaker 1: of the show, who's been on here as well. All
- 1:46Speaker 1: these guys grew up out West, one in Huntington Beach,
- 1:48Speaker 1: the other one and Las Vegas, Nevada. Incredible time, can't
- 1:53Speaker 1: wait right apost the boys. Dude, you've already pulled the
- 1:59Speaker 1: Jamie thing. We've brought up Noah, he's an absolute psychopath.
- 2:02Speaker 1: He came in here just absolutely gritting his face off, Like,
- 2:05Speaker 1: what is the relationship between you three?
- 2:07Speaker 2: You know what?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Basically tell me your love story, dude, tell me how
- 2:10Speaker 1: you guys met.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I met him in a park before the first day
- 2:15Speaker 3: of fourth grade, and my life has been changed ever since.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I don't know if it's good for the good or bad?
- 2:20Speaker 3: But yeah, day school.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Started on Monday.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I met him on Sunday throwing a football in a
- 2:24Speaker 3: park and yeah, there's a photo of the three of us.
- 2:29Speaker 4: We made a first off right there.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I mean kind of nice. Right, that's getting about a
- 2:33Speaker 1: little deal with a little bass in your hand.
- 2:35Speaker 5: The carp is crazy.
- 2:37Speaker 1: We carp my bad. Yeah, definite crazy. I mean bass,
- 2:41Speaker 1: I meant carp.
- 2:41Speaker 5: I mean just off of sugar high right there? Just
- 2:45Speaker 5: ripping life?
- 2:46Speaker 6: Man?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Is there anything better than just being eight years old
- 2:49Speaker 1: and a bag full of sugar in your body, just
- 2:51Speaker 1: getting after it with your boys knowing the crashes inevitably
- 2:54Speaker 1: going to comment, yes, yeah, that's also was Noah? Was
- 2:57Speaker 1: he the same way as he is worth? Yeah, I'm
- 3:00Speaker 1: sure he's like the ad D poster child of Nascar.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Yes, did he tell you he went to military school?
- 3:05Speaker 1: I don't think he did. Did he tell us that?
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yeah? He got he got sent away for a year
- 3:10Speaker 4: and a half.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He was a bad boy. He was being a bad
- 3:14Speaker 1: did he just know?
- 3:15Speaker 4: But a younger version of him, was he.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Was he pedaling? Or was he a fevery? What was
- 3:19Speaker 1: going on? He was he in the weeds in Las Vegas.
- 3:22Speaker 3: No, no, weeds all there he is left side.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Yes, that's incredible deep down has that character in him? Man?
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, the military with the sore character.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Did he'll just like go through I don't know times
- 3:40Speaker 5: where he'll get on a kick and like you'll go
- 3:43Speaker 5: over to know his house one time and he might
- 3:45Speaker 5: just be dressed like that just for the love of
- 3:47Speaker 5: the game.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Did I do actually love that about Like I don't.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Clearly I don't know him very well, but you just know,
- 3:53Speaker 1: seeing his energy and just how he was bouncing off
- 3:55Speaker 1: the walls left right and said, I can definitely see
- 3:57Speaker 1: him playing a bit and just being a random Wednesday.
- 3:59Speaker 1: But you know what, I'm gonna put some military clothes
- 4:01Speaker 1: on and just maybe one of my boys will come
- 4:03Speaker 1: over and see me dialed in like that. Wellw did.
- 4:06Speaker 1: What's fascinating to me about the racing thing is like
- 4:08Speaker 1: I grew up in traditional sports, right, I played hockey, baseball, basketball, football,
- 4:13Speaker 1: and then clearly football ended up being my thing. How like,
- 4:16Speaker 1: how did you guys find the love of racing?
- 4:20Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I mean, since we're talking about note
- 4:23Speaker 5: like Noah didn't get his start in racing till he
- 4:26Speaker 5: was like a he was late like probably.
- 4:27Speaker 4: What twelve yeah, fourteen yeah, fourteen?
- 4:30Speaker 5: Uh Like for Riley and I, I mean I've been
- 4:33Speaker 5: racing since I was three years old. I grew up
- 4:35Speaker 5: on VMX bikes and I wanted to race supercross, still
- 4:38Speaker 5: really into supercross, but then got into karting and just
- 4:42Speaker 5: we grew up around racing our whole life. And so
- 4:45Speaker 5: my dad was a team manager for the Offred race team,
- 4:49Speaker 5: which Riley is at the time raced. He actually raced,
- 4:53Speaker 5: and so like we just yeah, grew up around it
- 4:56Speaker 5: and that's all we've ever known, just going.
- 4:58Speaker 3: To the race track, just spending time with your fan family.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I don't know, we were talking about being eight years old.
- 5:02Speaker 3: We always kind of like thought that everybody went to
- 5:04Speaker 3: the racetrack on the weekend because we didn't go to
- 5:06Speaker 3: football practice. And then you start to get older and
- 5:09Speaker 3: you're like, oh, people are going to prom and shit,
- 5:12Speaker 3: you're skipping everything high school?
- 5:14Speaker 1: Now are you as homeschooling this or you guys like
- 5:16Speaker 1: and we're doing public school.
- 5:18Speaker 4: But we're just kind of yeah, we're like I got
- 5:20Speaker 4: kicked out actually in high school.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Okay, so you're also the bad kid.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Well, I missed doing days of school. They're like, Yo,
- 5:25Speaker 4: this is not going to cut it.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Really, When did you kick out of.
- 5:27Speaker 4: School halfway through sophomore year of high school?
- 5:30Speaker 1: And that's when you're going ged route all the way?
- 5:32Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 5:33Speaker 5: No shit, Yeah, I don't even know if I got one, honestly, Like,
- 5:36Speaker 5: and you bailed.
- 5:37Speaker 1: To like okay, so we just had a bunch of
- 5:38Speaker 1: bad boys out here, huh.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Well, Like, so I moved to North Carolina when I
- 5:42Speaker 5: was like fifteen years old pretty much, and I was
- 5:44Speaker 5: like going back and forth, but was out there, and
- 5:48Speaker 5: I just raced all the time. Like you go from
- 5:50Speaker 5: on the West Coast you only race, I don't know,
- 5:52Speaker 5: like a couple times a month, and then when you
- 5:54Speaker 5: go to North Carolina, you race like a few times
- 5:57Speaker 5: a week. And so there was no time for school
- 5:59Speaker 5: and so not good. But I mean I graduated eighth grade,
- 6:04Speaker 5: went to like and did online school, and pretty much
- 6:07Speaker 5: did my freshman sophomore year and then sort of just
- 6:10Speaker 5: kind of gave up on it.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Hope she just gave up on school.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, like, I just what you're gonna do, man?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah, if yeah, you love what you're doing, just go
- 6:19Speaker 1: ahead and chase that dream. It's also like the it's like, uh,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you see so many people even in their late thirties,
- 6:24Speaker 1: like having like an identity Christ, who they are, what
- 6:26Speaker 1: they want to be. It's got to be like the
- 6:28Speaker 1: most free thing in the world to be fourteen years old.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Fifteen years old, but like I know exactly what I
- 6:33Speaker 1: want to do.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's nervous too because if you don't, if
- 6:36Speaker 4: you don't get to the top, then.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah, then then you're in your twenties with no no
- 6:40Speaker 1: high school degree. I was hopefully figuring it all out.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Then you were saying that you did supercross a little bit.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I wanted to.
- 6:48Speaker 1: That was so you, Like, so were you Like I
- 6:51Speaker 1: grew up in Arizona and like, my I'm clearly older
- 6:54Speaker 1: than you guys, but I was all until like Krusty
- 6:56Speaker 1: Demon's minimolit Nitro circus, like Travis Shawn and Brian Degan,
- 7:00Speaker 1: those are my heroes growing up. Were you getting on
- 7:02Speaker 1: the bike and doing a little.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I never like, I mean I probably
- 7:06Speaker 5: the biggest spike I rid was like a pretty much
- 7:08Speaker 5: like a eighty five.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Yeah, a little too show after a little bit.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Like do Krusty demons. Want a throwback, I'm like, I
- 7:16Speaker 5: was probably like five years old. The spiked hair sitting
- 7:19Speaker 5: on a crest.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, probably some frosted tips taking place to dude, so pop, dude,
- 7:23Speaker 1: you pop those little DVDs in there and you're like,
- 7:26Speaker 1: how do I live the life at these?
- 7:28Speaker 4: For hours? After school hours?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Dude, it would always be I would come home and
- 7:31Speaker 1: it would be CMT on the TV. I would watch
- 7:34Speaker 1: whatever was on, probably Dukes of Hazzard. As soon as
- 7:36Speaker 1: like that episode ended, I would put in. Usually Nya's
- 7:39Speaker 1: Circus was my go to krusty Demons I had to
- 7:41Speaker 1: put on. My parents were on date night or something
- 7:43Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, dude, Nysa's Circuits.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Came, you had to go, Dude.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I went to it in twenty fifteen. Yeah, and it
- 7:51Speaker 1: was awesome.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I hit up A Travis.
- 7:53Speaker 1: No, God, I didn't have that kind of connection. It
- 7:55Speaker 1: was twenty fifteen, so it was my second year in
- 7:57Speaker 1: the NFL in Nashville and it was Adam Jones. He
- 8:01Speaker 1: like I DMed him and I was like, hey, bro,
- 8:02Speaker 1: I'll be the thing. He's like you should come before
- 8:05Speaker 1: and I go down and we're in the like we're
- 8:07Speaker 1: like walking through, like to the Predator's locker room and
- 8:11Speaker 1: there's like a pull up bar and I tell my boys, like, hey,
- 8:13Speaker 1: you should do a pull up. My buddy, he can't
- 8:15Speaker 1: do a pull up to save his life. Travis Pastrano
- 8:17Speaker 1: walks by, he gets in on it, and I'm like,
- 8:19Speaker 1: this is fucking incredible. And we went in the locker room.
- 8:22Speaker 1: They were drinking some some bud lights, having a good time.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I'm like, should you just be should be doing this
- 8:27Speaker 1: when you're about to do at the bathroom stuff Like, oh, dude,
- 8:29Speaker 1: this is this is easy. This is like riding a
- 8:31Speaker 1: bike for this is nothing. And we went out all night, dude,
- 8:34Speaker 1: and just got after it with them. It was like
- 8:36Speaker 1: one of the greatest core moments of my entire life. Yeah,
- 8:39Speaker 1: this is not a podcast about me though, so you guys.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I love to hear it.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Man, I was gonna ask you about Big Blue. I
- 8:48Speaker 3: was gonna ask you about Tennessee. Yeah, stories, where's Willie
- 8:50Speaker 3: boys see man.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Willie boy See he's in foreign territory right now. We
- 8:54Speaker 1: uh America Center around America sent him to try to
- 8:58Speaker 1: do God's work to help out with the World Cup.
- 9:00Speaker 1: It didn't work out last dude, I popped in it out.
- 9:04Speaker 1: One of my favorite things to do this past couple
- 9:06Speaker 1: of weeks is put on the World Cup but on
- 9:09Speaker 1: Telemundo and just listen to the Spanish. You guys, just
- 9:12Speaker 1: get after it. But it was a heartbreaking loss.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Heartbreak.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Were you guys following it? Yeah, that's really all you
- 9:20Speaker 1: want and it's It's the worst part is like this
- 9:23Speaker 1: game going into Belgium, we were all thinking to ourselves, like,
- 9:26Speaker 1: I think we could win this. Yeah, I think this
- 9:28Speaker 1: is the Finally the time I was on the bus
- 9:29Speaker 1: yesterday doing an intro that came out this morning after
- 9:31Speaker 1: we lost it, like we can look past Belgium. Let's
- 9:34Speaker 1: focus on Morocco or Spain now to whop yeah and
- 9:39Speaker 1: no doubt, Yeah, yeah, okay when did when did you guys? Okay,
- 9:44Speaker 1: so your your family was in it?
- 9:46Speaker 4: Off road?
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah, off road and so it's very Uh, I know
- 9:50Speaker 1: a lot of guys grew up racing and stuff like that,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but off roads kind of a more unique game to
- 9:53Speaker 1: get into.
- 9:53Speaker 6: NA.
- 9:54Speaker 4: It's very different. It's like running through the deserts of Mexico,
- 9:59Speaker 4: like wide op overall on exactly that's what it was.
- 10:02Speaker 5: It's so much different, even just like the depth of
- 10:05Speaker 5: like the people and like I don't know, like the
- 10:08Speaker 5: vibe of like that go left, right there.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Or all the way off to the top, Yeah, to
- 10:15Speaker 4: the top right, Yeah, there you go.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Yeah, there's if you're in position in bad spot.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Yeah exactly, you're not supposed to come off the ground
- 10:22Speaker 4: like that.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So this is what this is the origin story of
- 10:24Speaker 1: my two boys here. You guys were into Baja type
- 10:28Speaker 1: of racing.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean like when we were younger, we were
- 10:30Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, wanting to do this when like we
- 10:33Speaker 5: didn't know about the sport sports. You're going to do
- 10:36Speaker 5: this for a living?
- 10:37Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't do that for a living. That's a hobby.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Doesn't make sense, Like I hate to say that.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you just don't make a lot of money.
- 10:42Speaker 1: There's no money yeh yeah. And at the end of
- 10:44Speaker 1: the day, like we'll have our passions, but also we
- 10:46Speaker 1: need to make bags as well.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Those are those are businessmen who do that on the weekend.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, these are yeah, exactly exactly. Did you guys ever,
- 10:52Speaker 1: the only thing I know about Baja racing is the
- 10:54Speaker 1: Baja one thousand. Like growing up in Arizona, it was like, hey,
- 10:57Speaker 1: it's taking place for blah blah in November whenever it is.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Did you guys ever race in that?
- 11:01Speaker 4: Yeah? I do it. I try to do it every year.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Oh for real, because the NASCAR season ends like the
- 11:06Speaker 3: first week in November and the Baja on thousand starts
- 11:09Speaker 3: the week and half after that, so it lines up
- 11:11Speaker 3: pretty good.
- 11:11Speaker 1: What's the How different is it for you to get
- 11:14Speaker 1: in a.
- 11:15Speaker 4: On the top right, Yeah, there you go.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Well you get a little lit.
- 11:19Speaker 4: L aired, Yeah, there you go.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Not bad, dude, not bad at all. How hard is it?
- 11:25Speaker 1: Like kind of going from NASCAR completely different car, completely
- 11:29Speaker 1: different type of driving, completely different team to this.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Quite honestly, that's just I go to like kind of
- 11:34Speaker 3: unwind after the year, Like my cousins are doing it.
- 11:37Speaker 3: We're down there drinking beers before the race, like it's
- 11:40Speaker 3: super low key and yeah, Nascar is like a job,
- 11:44Speaker 3: like it's high pressure. That's relaxed, have fun with your
- 11:48Speaker 3: family and friends and go on fun.
- 11:50Speaker 1: You mentioned the pressure of NASCAR, Like how hard How
- 11:54Speaker 1: much pressure did you guys put on yourselves when you
- 11:56Speaker 1: first got the nod in the Top Series?
- 11:58Speaker 5: I mean a ton for sure. I mean like you
- 12:01Speaker 5: work your whole life to get there and then it's like,
- 12:04Speaker 5: all right, now it's even harder to stay here. And
- 12:08Speaker 5: so that's where that level of pressure comes from. And
- 12:10Speaker 5: you go from like racing guys where it's like you're
- 12:13Speaker 5: normally racing ten guys for a win at like a
- 12:15Speaker 5: lower series. Now it's like everyone is super good and
- 12:18Speaker 5: you never know like what the weekend is going to bring,
- 12:21Speaker 5: Like you could so easily just be a little off
- 12:24Speaker 5: and it's the difference maker in your weekend.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yeah, the crazy thing for me is like learning from
- 12:28Speaker 1: guys that like you'll know early in the race how
- 12:31Speaker 1: competitive you're going to be, how like.
- 12:33Speaker 4: How frustrating the first lap in practice?
- 12:36Speaker 1: In practice?
- 12:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean like recently practice at Friday, sometimes Saturday.
- 12:41Speaker 5: It depends if you have like a full practice because
- 12:44Speaker 5: then we're able to like make adjustments and like think
- 12:47Speaker 5: on it, uh and then qualify the next day kind
- 12:50Speaker 5: of like what we did this past weekend in uh
- 12:53Speaker 5: San Diego. But like normally it's twenty minutes of practice
- 12:56Speaker 5: and then you're like fired into qualifying and you're like
- 12:59Speaker 5: you just don't have time.
- 13:00Speaker 4: You can't change the car.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Really, why not you have a thousand? You have a
- 13:04Speaker 1: thousand guys. COVID, Yeah, COVID, Yeah, too many masks. These
- 13:08Speaker 1: cars are a triple boost.
- 13:09Speaker 4: And now I get it.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Okay, I see what you're saying.
- 13:10Speaker 4: COVID.
- 13:11Speaker 5: They took our practice away, the mass deal man you're
- 13:15Speaker 5: being they and just pull that thing down.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Just absolutely brutal, especially in the summer time, just sweating
- 13:22Speaker 1: on yourself in the steamroom.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Yeah, look like we had a thong on our face.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah, So COVID. COVID changed the entire game.
- 13:30Speaker 4: For you guys absolutely because who was who was on here?
- 13:32Speaker 1: Was it last week or the week before? Somebody was
- 13:34Speaker 1: talking about how was it? Chase Elliot, Larson, Kyle Larson,
- 13:39Speaker 1: he was talking to us via zoom, talking about how
- 13:41Speaker 1: much it's gone from you used to practice like Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
- 13:45Speaker 1: like understand your car being the car more and now
- 13:47Speaker 1: it's like you got fifteen minutes and rip. Has there
- 13:49Speaker 1: ever been as drivers? Would you guys like to go
- 13:51Speaker 1: back to like the old school way?
- 13:53Speaker 3: I would like that, but like me and Zane never
- 13:55Speaker 3: really got to experience the old school way, Like used
- 13:58Speaker 3: to be able to go practice and go test.
- 14:00Speaker 4: All you want, and now it's against the rules. You're
- 14:03Speaker 4: not allowed to.
- 14:04Speaker 1: That's so odd.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Like if you are a kid wanting to go play
- 14:08Speaker 3: basketball at Michigan, you can go to the backyard and
- 14:10Speaker 3: put up a thousand shots.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, and it's every single day, over and over
- 14:15Speaker 1: and over. You can't do that son, you guys, but
- 14:17Speaker 1: you can do the sims correct. Yeah, but like that
- 14:19Speaker 1: all day every day? Or is there a time limit
- 14:21Speaker 1: on that as well?
- 14:22Speaker 4: Not from NASCAR, but the manufacturer puts a time limit
- 14:24Speaker 4: on it because there's so many drivers that they have
- 14:27Speaker 4: to like, oh no way.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Yeah, And like honestly, like sim or SIM is so
- 14:32Speaker 5: hit or miss, Like some weeks it's like okay, that
- 14:34Speaker 5: actually like correlated pretty well, and other weeks is like man,
- 14:36Speaker 5: this like might have hurt us. And so like that's
- 14:40Speaker 5: it's a little bit of a guessing game. But that's
- 14:41Speaker 5: what makes like rookie season so ugly sometimes too, Like
- 14:45Speaker 5: I don't know both of our rookie season's sad. It's
- 14:48Speaker 5: like the back half gets a lot better. But like
- 14:52Speaker 5: I know you're seeing it with Connor too, but I
- 14:55Speaker 5: think that's from like we just don't have time to Like,
- 14:58Speaker 5: the next gen Cup car is like so much different
- 15:01Speaker 5: than anything we've ever driven, and so yeah, you get
- 15:04Speaker 5: twenty minutes to figure it out.
- 15:06Speaker 1: When you guys are in the off season, are you
- 15:07Speaker 1: allowed to get in behind the wheel a little bit
- 15:09Speaker 1: more in your cup car?
- 15:11Speaker 4: No, can't touch them.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Can't touch them. That's a weird rules.
- 15:14Speaker 5: The shops are in the off season. The shops are
- 15:16Speaker 5: like a ghost town because the cars are basically getting.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And that's where we go and have Baja, Yeah, and
- 15:22Speaker 1: get after. Yeah, have a couple of bls. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:25Speaker 1: wax a little bit, put up one thirty five ten times,
- 15:28Speaker 1: like it's nothing.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Mind if a white boy gets a little motion.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I tell you what, dude, I was worried about
- 15:32Speaker 1: you when you got into that bar that was gonna
- 15:34Speaker 1: squeeze you for a second. You put up no problem.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Yeah, all right.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Mostly, what do you like to do on the in
- 15:41Speaker 1: the off season?
- 15:41Speaker 5: What's your honestly like? Yeah, pretty much just the deleting
- 15:46Speaker 5: beers and uh, I like, I like spending time just fishing,
- 15:49Speaker 5: being out on water. Yeah, typically go down to like
- 15:51Speaker 5: the Florida Keys and spend some time down there and yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 5: just do a whole lot of nothing, a.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Little off shore action.
- 15:57Speaker 5: Hell, dude, the Florida something, but the Florida case, it's
- 15:59Speaker 5: so much fun.
- 15:59Speaker 1: That's chickens running around wild. It's so awesome.
- 16:02Speaker 5: It does not feel real.
- 16:03Speaker 4: No, And it's just.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Like everyone just so much more laid back, like Jimmy
- 16:06Speaker 1: Buffett understood before all of us facts.
- 16:08Speaker 5: And it's honestly like I was just down there right
- 16:11Speaker 5: before the season started, and it's kind of it's turned
- 16:13Speaker 5: into like a like a mini Nashville. Like everyone's playing
- 16:17Speaker 5: live music, everyone's having a great time, always some great
- 16:21Speaker 5: weather at night.
- 16:22Speaker 4: So it's ton of fun.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'm with you. Last time I was there, I went
- 16:25Speaker 1: into this like small bar, like there's like a I
- 16:27Speaker 1: was walking down whatever the main street is and there's
- 16:29Speaker 1: like an alley way and it has like four or
- 16:30Speaker 1: five bars. At the end there was a band playing
- 16:33Speaker 1: like some forty one blank what a Twood like some
- 16:36Speaker 1: yeah my, like this is my number one genre of music.
- 16:39Speaker 1: And that is like kind of a viot. It's kind
- 16:42Speaker 1: of just a spot out there to hang out. Yeah,
- 16:44Speaker 1: besides smacking beers and getting roudy. What's your what's your
- 16:46Speaker 1: go to in the off season?
- 16:47Speaker 4: Like Snowski?
- 16:48Speaker 1: No, you can do that contractually.
- 16:51Speaker 4: I actually I don't know. I've actually never really read it.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I just.
- 16:56Speaker 4: I've just been snowskiing since I was like four, So
- 16:58Speaker 4: I just no way. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Like in football, when you sign a contract in the NFL,
- 17:03Speaker 1: you're not allowed to do essentially anything that could possibly
- 17:06Speaker 1: hurt your body. Like if you get hurt off the
- 17:09Speaker 1: football field that you practice on on you your contract
- 17:11Speaker 1: could possibly be void out down. So Snowski, Yeah, I
- 17:15Speaker 1: love it, dude.
- 17:15Speaker 4: That's what happened because Laski before the season.
- 17:18Speaker 5: No, he slipped in. He says, that's close. Chase Elliott
- 17:24Speaker 5: broke Chase Elliott.
- 17:26Speaker 1: No way from just slipping on black ice.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Uh did? Yeah?
- 17:30Speaker 1: Okay, got you.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Night mere scenario, man.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, nightmare scenario.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Dude.
- 17:34Speaker 5: He was walking on a cane for like half Yeah.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're a cane, you can't do that. That
- 17:42Speaker 1: medical bullshit gray one dude, you have to have one.
- 17:44Speaker 5: Like yeah, get like a carbon fiber, a little little
- 17:48Speaker 5: six on it.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that kind of goes hard. That stands as powerful
- 17:53Speaker 1: to media day. Yeah, I like that a lot.
- 17:56Speaker 4: What he was mad at me that day, dude?
- 17:58Speaker 5: Yeah, off, what are we doing?
- 18:01Speaker 4: Well?
- 18:01Speaker 3: I went for the win of the Daytona five hundred
- 18:03Speaker 3: and he was trying to go for the win as well,
- 18:05Speaker 3: and big.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Wreck, big wreck. Big We end up winning that race.
- 18:09Speaker 4: My teammate, Tyler Reddick.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Okay, so it ended up working out for you. Yeah, team, Yeah,
- 18:15Speaker 1: what is what is like the vibe after a race
- 18:19Speaker 1: when you wreck somebody and you guys are both clearly
- 18:21Speaker 1: going it's competitive. I'm assuming it's not intentional, but one
- 18:25Speaker 1: of you guys gonna feel some type of way.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean Zaane was up here too. Yeah.
- 18:31Speaker 3: This is a hectic glass lap, but I mean this
- 18:34Speaker 3: is this is our super Bowl. I've you've probably heard
- 18:36Speaker 3: that a million times.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Looks good right there.
- 18:38Speaker 1: That is that you and the.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Eight up top.
- 18:42Speaker 3: You'll see the old three five coming into picture. Oh
- 18:44Speaker 3: that's the white flag lap. We need the next lap, just.
- 18:48Speaker 4: A couple of here we go. Yeah, Zane's pushing Jase Elliott.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought I had this for a minute.
- 18:53Speaker 3: So you're the second car right, Yeah, I'm fourth, right
- 18:56Speaker 3: out of frame.
- 18:57Speaker 5: So I tried to set this up to win where
- 19:01Speaker 5: you kind of like got a back up for help.
- 19:03Speaker 4: I'm pushing my teammate.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Just Chase was all over it and it just kind
- 19:06Speaker 5: of stalled.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Get up to try to.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Get and oh damn yeah, I bet Reddick was stoked
- 19:14Speaker 1: though home piece of that bonus or anything like that. Okay, yeah, sadly.
- 19:22Speaker 1: One thing I've learned about NASCAR selfish industry. We don't
- 19:25Speaker 1: We don't hook up our boys at all, do we.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I mean, we're teammates, but we're not.
- 19:30Speaker 1: That's that's understandable. I'm more talking about the pit crew boys.
- 19:34Speaker 4: Okay.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I have Paul Swan in here and we've talked to
- 19:36Speaker 1: Bubba and the fellas, like we need to start normalizing
- 19:40Speaker 1: giving gifts, gifts to your boys on Christmas. We got
- 19:43Speaker 1: to start doing stuff like that. Especially you help your
- 19:45Speaker 1: boy out, you wreck the entire field so he can
- 19:47Speaker 1: just go.
- 19:49Speaker 4: For him.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Yeah, what's something like that pay contract? Everyone's contract. There's
- 19:56Speaker 1: not like a buy race.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Sometimes like, uh, it could be like your set of mouth,
- 20:02Speaker 5: or it could be a piece.
- 20:05Speaker 1: What if the days five hundred takes home and estimated
- 20:07Speaker 1: one point that six one point six to two point
- 20:11Speaker 1: two plus million dollars, I couldn't break you off a
- 20:14Speaker 1: hundred piece, you know what I'm saying.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I mean, we set the record this year for the
- 20:18Speaker 3: biggest purse for a thirty one million bucks for what
- 20:22Speaker 3: the race? That's what it paid out from first to fortieth.
- 20:25Speaker 1: No way, Yeah, that is just crazy. What did you
- 20:29Speaker 1: finish in that race?
- 20:30Speaker 4: I actually got eight. That was eight across the line.
- 20:32Speaker 1: So you're sitting there in second or third.
- 20:34Speaker 4: And it was a huge pay cut for me, huge.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Huge bag from third to eighth.
- 20:39Speaker 4: But if I would have won it, I would have been.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you would have gotten broken off.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I would have got broken off. I would have got
- 20:46Speaker 3: the biggest trophy, the ring, the rolex, all of it.
- 20:49Speaker 5: You get a rolex, you get a Rolex.
- 20:52Speaker 1: That's gotta be like the nicest little bonus, Like, oh shit,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I can get this. I was gonna buy this anyway. Yeah,
- 20:56Speaker 1: two million dollars gives you instead. I'm just gonna rip
- 20:59Speaker 1: it up.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Dude.
- 21:00Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Dude.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I was looking at these notes before and I read
- 21:04Speaker 1: something terrible. Herbst Oil Company, your family. It is yes, okay,
- 21:10Speaker 1: Like we looked up the estimated revenue from twenty twenty two. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 1: you're talking about it. We listen. We sat here and
- 21:17Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, it's crazy. You know what you want
- 21:19Speaker 1: to do. You're like, yeah, but it's scary because what
- 21:21Speaker 1: if it doesn't work out, I'm thinking of myself and
- 21:23Speaker 1: it's gonna be all right for you. We're writing a
- 21:27Speaker 1: quarter billion dollars in twenty twenty two. No more than that,
- 21:30Speaker 1: more than that. And what was the It was the
- 21:35Speaker 1: God the Greatest Showman P. T. Barnum, Pat Barnum of
- 21:38Speaker 1: the oil Over hist Have you seen greatest Showmen?
- 21:42Speaker 4: I haven't.
- 21:42Speaker 1: It's basically and I don't If I say it the
- 21:45Speaker 1: way I'm thinking, it's gonna sound disrespectful. But PT. Barnum
- 21:48Speaker 1: he like started the Circus Act.
- 21:49Speaker 4: That's fine, and.
- 21:50Speaker 1: People were like upset about like his shows back then
- 21:53Speaker 1: should be like more classy and there's a way to
- 21:56Speaker 1: live if you're off.
- 21:57Speaker 4: That checks out. Yeah, with how the nickname Terrible came about,
- 22:00Speaker 4: So that makes sense.
- 22:01Speaker 1: So is that actually your the company's name or is
- 22:03Speaker 1: that just added in the Wikipedia part.
- 22:05Speaker 4: No, it's terrible, It's Terrible correct total company.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:08Speaker 3: My great grandfather started it in Chicago, right next to
- 22:12Speaker 3: the water tower. There is no that's my grandfather. So
- 22:15Speaker 3: his father started it and he had really bad asthma
- 22:19Speaker 3: and they didn't have medicine at the time, so the
- 22:20Speaker 3: doctor told him to move west and so he would
- 22:22Speaker 3: go to a town run everybody out of business by
- 22:25Speaker 3: undercutting them on prices. And then once he ran everybody
- 22:28Speaker 3: out of business, he would leave to the next town
- 22:30Speaker 3: and do it again, and do it again, and do
- 22:32Speaker 3: it again. And so there was a newspaper headline saying
- 22:35Speaker 3: that no good son of a bitch, Terrible Herbs is
- 22:37Speaker 3: coming to town.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Be careful. And then when they got to Vegas, he
- 22:40Speaker 4: just started his company called Terrible Herbs.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Okay, all in shortness of breath, this guy, I could
- 22:46Speaker 1: barely breathe. But he's still running everybody out of town. Yeah, dog,
- 22:49Speaker 1: that is fucking awesome. Yeah, and your is your family.
- 22:52Speaker 1: We still own the business, we still do all the things.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Yeah, but I kind of made a decision to like
- 22:58Speaker 4: not go that.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Way right right, you don't want to?
- 23:00Speaker 3: They said, education, college, education big in my family. And
- 23:04Speaker 3: I said, I'm gonna go turn left down and down
- 23:07Speaker 3: in the south.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Okay, college for like twenty years ago.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Yeah, And they're like, you are probably not making the
- 23:15Speaker 3: best financial decisions.
- 23:16Speaker 1: You're definitely can promise you you're not making the best
- 23:19Speaker 1: you can have the greatest NASCAR career of your life,
- 23:21Speaker 1: and you're not making the.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Best passions run it. My my dad and my uncle
- 23:26Speaker 4: run it, and uh yeah, it's still in Las Vegas.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And dude, I read that the original home for your
- 23:33Speaker 1: family is now a part of the MGM Grand Property.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Uh no, that was their original casino. Yeah. So if
- 23:41Speaker 4: you pull up the MGM, that small that small little
- 23:44Speaker 4: tower up front was the original one in Vegas. Yeah,
- 23:49Speaker 4: in Vegas.
- 23:52Speaker 6: See the bottom one right, no, no, go back, go
- 23:55Speaker 6: back one down, nope, left right there, Yeah, so that
- 24:01Speaker 6: that see that's nope, to the right, nope, to the
- 24:05Speaker 6: last the centerpiece.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Yeah, see how that's like its own building. And then
- 24:09Speaker 4: they still to connect it. So that was your family's,
- 24:13Speaker 4: my grandfather's and his business partners.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Yeah, gotch. You see your grandfather goes in, he starts
- 24:17Speaker 1: running in through town sixties in Vegas, undercuts the market,
- 24:21Speaker 1: undercuts the market, gets to Vegas, gets a nice little
- 24:23Speaker 1: sliver of the.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Down tryer and he's like, yeah, that's why I didn't know.
- 24:27Speaker 1: That, and decides to start his own casino as well.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I started the casino business too. Yeah, there's that
- 24:34Speaker 3: was the building.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Yeah, no way. And as your family in the casino
- 24:37Speaker 1: business at all anymore, they have.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Super small truck stop ones and towns you've probably never
- 24:40Speaker 3: heard of, farming Nevada and just search light in Nevada.
- 24:43Speaker 3: You've probably driven through search Light coming from Arizona.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Maybe yeah, maybe is that near the Hoover Dam pretty close? Okay,
- 24:50Speaker 1: then yeah, I probably have done that drive a few times.
- 24:52Speaker 5: Dude.
- 24:53Speaker 1: My brother would always My brother played travel hockey.
- 24:56Speaker 4: You've seen it.
- 24:57Speaker 1: It was always Anaheim, California, was.
- 25:00Speaker 3: The birthplace of Harry Reid, the longtime politician. Really okay,
- 25:06Speaker 3: got like a population of eight hundred people.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I also got to see a picture of Harry Reid.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I need to see a picture of that.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Oh you you know who he is? Yeah? Bro, how
- 25:17Speaker 4: do you know this guy?
- 25:18Speaker 1: How do you know this guy?
- 25:19Speaker 4: He was like like the third highest person in the
- 25:21Speaker 4: US government from.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Was he really?
- 25:23Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out government due Yeah, weird kid, weird kid
- 25:28Speaker 1: and uh weird yeah yeah zaying you grew up in
- 25:31Speaker 1: Huntington Beach. When did how did you get linked up
- 25:34Speaker 1: with Riley? And uh noah?
- 25:37Speaker 5: So yeah, I mean I know I've known Riley all
- 25:38Speaker 5: my all my life. So my dad uh has worked
- 25:42Speaker 5: for Riley's family for since I was born. And then
- 25:48Speaker 5: Riley introduced me to Noah. I think I was when
- 25:50Speaker 5: I first met Noah. I was racing go karts in
- 25:54Speaker 5: like the Mandalay Bay parking lot and Supernats or yeah, yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 5: the real parking lot parking lot. I guess I think
- 26:01Speaker 5: that was the first time I met Noah. But Noah
- 26:03Speaker 5: was like a he was a big kid man. And
- 26:05Speaker 5: then didn't see him for.
- 26:07Speaker 4: The weight loss he was talking about. Yeah, then he.
- 26:09Speaker 5: Went to military school.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Before military school a little bit.
- 26:13Speaker 5: We started, Yeah, we started racing the Bowl Ring together,
- 26:16Speaker 5: and yeah, we're all kind of buddies since then. But honestly,
- 26:21Speaker 5: like vague, I was in Vegas with them pretty much
- 26:25Speaker 5: every weekend, racing at the bull Ring, which is a
- 26:27Speaker 5: little tracker outside the big Speedway. And yeah, we would
- 26:30Speaker 5: all kind of stay together. I would either stay at
- 26:32Speaker 5: Riley's house or Noah's house on the weekend, and it
- 26:35Speaker 5: was a ton of fun.
- 26:36Speaker 1: That's awesome, dude. And so did you guys all decide
- 26:38Speaker 1: to go to Charlotte together? Was that like a team?
- 26:40Speaker 4: He was first?
- 26:41Speaker 5: Yeah? Yeah, So at first I lived like in a
- 26:45Speaker 5: trailer park, uh, in my motor roome, and then then
- 26:50Speaker 5: my my parents loved it out there as well, and
- 26:53Speaker 5: like they were wanting to move out there eventually and
- 26:55Speaker 5: they now do. And uh kind of lived out in
- 26:58Speaker 5: the country and then uh, I actually got like a
- 27:02Speaker 5: fake ID and I got my first apartment. I was
- 27:04Speaker 5: probably like seventeen years old. Nice and by then, by
- 27:08Speaker 5: then I was living out there full time.
- 27:10Speaker 1: No shit. Yeah, So a boy grows up in a
- 27:12Speaker 1: trailer park ends up in NASCAR, and everything I've heard
- 27:15Speaker 1: about NASCAR is like you need I think Bubba was
- 27:18Speaker 1: talking about like two hundred and fifty thousand dollars a
- 27:20Speaker 1: year just for him to be able to like do
- 27:22Speaker 1: the race, like get racing done. Like how much sacrifice
- 27:25Speaker 1: did your parents make for you to be able to
- 27:27Speaker 1: go race and do all those things?
- 27:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean mine was certainly different, like how I
- 27:32Speaker 5: got to this point. So like at at an early age,
- 27:34Speaker 5: there was like a group of investors that invested in me,
- 27:36Speaker 5: and if I was to make it to the Cup
- 27:37Speaker 5: Series level, then then I would pay them back.
- 27:40Speaker 1: When you should a private equity company come in and
- 27:42Speaker 1: be like we want this black.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Rock Yeah came in and yeah, shut down private equity.
- 27:47Speaker 5: It's unfortunately like all people that like no racing like
- 27:51Speaker 5: you're not going to get anyone that's like financially smart
- 27:54Speaker 5: to invest in this because the risk is insane. But
- 27:59Speaker 5: it was more so like of a sponsorship of like
- 28:02Speaker 5: something that makes sense to do. And so that was
- 28:05Speaker 5: how I got my opportunity.
- 28:06Speaker 4: To story to the very top. Yeah that one.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Oh yeah, well, I I don't recall that. I just
- 28:19Speaker 5: got wrecked. This is way back man, twenty eighteen. I think, yeah,
- 28:24Speaker 5: it's got wrecked and we we fixed it, went back
- 28:29Speaker 5: out there and just what's.
- 28:32Speaker 4: The headline there?
- 28:32Speaker 5: Just destroyed both of us.
- 28:34Speaker 2: But it was Archifine's drivers Zane Smith fru talitory act
- 28:38Speaker 2: during Saturday's racist Salem.
- 28:43Speaker 5: I do not recall.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I do not recall Salem. Yeah, trial taking place in there,
- 28:47Speaker 1: like who are you retalied? Did be a nasty boy?
- 28:51Speaker 2: No?
- 28:51Speaker 5: I just got I just got wrecked. And man, a
- 28:54Speaker 5: big part of our sport is like if you don't
- 28:56Speaker 5: stand your ground, you just get eaten up. So yeah,
- 29:01Speaker 5: our day was done, and uh we halfway fixed it
- 29:06Speaker 5: and yeah, settled the match.
- 29:09Speaker 1: So usually you fixed your car to go handle business.
- 29:12Speaker 5: Yeah, fix it halfway, and I knew what I was
- 29:14Speaker 5: gonna go do. But yeah, I love it.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Dude.
- 29:16Speaker 1: How much did you get fined?
- 29:17Speaker 4: I don't remember. I don't know.
- 29:19Speaker 5: I think it was like a team fine, it was
- 29:22Speaker 5: probably like points.
- 29:23Speaker 3: It would you get seventy year acts for a cussinger
- 29:28Speaker 3: ref out or thirty recks?
- 29:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like I find thirty thousand for cursing
- 29:32Speaker 1: out a group of refs after a Jets game.
- 29:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it was electric.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah, I got fined.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I gotta find a lot of money. To the point,
- 29:43Speaker 1: I had a guy pulled me in in the Pro
- 29:44Speaker 1: Bowl one time. He said, hey, come with me real quick,
- 29:46Speaker 1: brings me to a computer in a big room and
- 29:48Speaker 1: he like pulls up all the fines and he showed
- 29:50Speaker 1: me how much I've been fined through like five years
- 29:52Speaker 1: of my career. And he's like, you understand, you're just
- 29:54Speaker 1: wasting so much money?
- 29:55Speaker 4: Is there fines we don't ever hear about.
- 29:57Speaker 5: Yeah, how much was it after five years?
- 30:02Speaker 1: I think it was like four hundred thousand?
- 30:03Speaker 4: Oh my goodness.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Yeah, oh no, it was like three sixty something. And
- 30:08Speaker 1: the funny thing about it is the guy who showed
- 30:10Speaker 1: me that was John Runyon. And John running played for
- 30:13Speaker 1: the Eagles, and he was. I think he was unanimously
- 30:16Speaker 1: voted the most dirty player in the NFL, like multiple
- 30:18Speaker 1: years running. Yeah, he also was a senator, I believe
- 30:20Speaker 1: as well.
- 30:22Speaker 2: I can tell him the story about Rabel finding you
- 30:24Speaker 2: for the being late team.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so I was late. I was like two
- 30:28Speaker 1: times in my to practice or to the facility in
- 30:32Speaker 1: my NFL career. Once when I was a rookie, I
- 30:34Speaker 1: overslept called the coach who was Ken wizenh On, and
- 30:37Speaker 1: he's liked, hey, I'll go just get here, no worries.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Nothing ever came of that. And then twenty eighteen was
- 30:42Speaker 1: Rabel's first year. I just signed a concert highest paid
- 30:44Speaker 1: off it's a line in the NFL history. I got
- 30:46Speaker 1: a big deal, thank you so much. And it was
- 30:48Speaker 1: like short lived, like six months. And then at the
- 30:50Speaker 1: end of the year, I was like maybe top ten,
- 30:53Speaker 1: but I was. I ran late and I called Rabel
- 30:55Speaker 1: on the way in because he's like, all I want
- 30:57Speaker 1: to know is like, we don't want to be searching
- 30:59Speaker 1: for you, just want to know if you're going to
- 31:01Speaker 1: be late, call us and tell us you're gonna be late.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So I called them, I said, hey, I'm running late.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm really sorry, blah blah blah, You're making all excuses
- 31:07Speaker 1: in the world. And he just goes, hey, thank god
- 31:09Speaker 1: you're rich and hung up the phone. And I thought, okay,
- 31:13Speaker 1: like that's a funny joke. By right, go to practice, comeback.
- 31:16Speaker 1: There's an envelope. It was like ten thousand dollars or
- 31:18Speaker 1: something like that for being fined for being late to
- 31:20Speaker 1: a team meeting by a couple of minutes. They'll, dude,
- 31:23Speaker 1: they'll get you. They will. And then when you repeal these.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Foguts, the cash the team.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I think the team gets it and then they like
- 31:30Speaker 1: donate it. It's like it's a charitable donation. So I've
- 31:34Speaker 1: done a lot of charitable work. I've done a lot
- 31:36Speaker 1: of charitable work. Now, yeah, I forgot about this number.
- 31:40Speaker 1: This is yeah, yeah, I had I think the most,
- 31:44Speaker 1: what's the most I've been fined? Yeah, those are just
- 31:50Speaker 1: a few.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Got a list of them.
- 31:52Speaker 1: I got a list of them. I'll tell you this, dude,
- 31:56Speaker 1: some of these are I'm not no, no, they're all real.
- 32:00Speaker 1: There was one I got a stinger and we were
- 32:02Speaker 1: playing Thursday night football and the skycam was like over
- 32:05Speaker 1: my head and it's like clearly zooming and on me,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and I just had him with one of these, like
- 32:09Speaker 1: one of those. There's actually a photo of me like
- 32:11Speaker 1: giving the finger to giving the finger to the skycam.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Not that that's why I got objected from the Packers game.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Do they jumped off sides and hit Marcus Mariota first game.
- 32:22Speaker 1: It was the second drive of the game because the
- 32:23Speaker 1: first drive of the game we had a seventy five
- 32:25Speaker 1: yard run to the left, and so I was I
- 32:27Speaker 1: kind of I was in the game for like more
- 32:29Speaker 1: than half of the marcol Murray's rush yards and I
- 32:31Speaker 1: was like proud of that. We end up winning that game,
- 32:33Speaker 1: but I got fined thirty something thousand for that, and
- 32:37Speaker 1: my agent was like, oh, his head was getting looked
- 32:39Speaker 1: at it. He was disoriented. And they actually resented that
- 32:41Speaker 1: fine and brought it back. So that was a big deal.
- 32:44Speaker 1: That was That was a big dub for me, A
- 32:46Speaker 1: big dub once again, not my show. No, I love it,
- 32:49Speaker 1: not my show.
- 32:50Speaker 4: It is you show.
- 32:51Speaker 1: It is my show, but you guys are absolutely the guest.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I love it.

- 33:14Speaker 1: get done. It is summertime, it's hot. Pop yourself a
- 33:16Speaker 1: form Energy, get after a little bit and put in
- 33:19Speaker 1: the work. Form Energy. We do the work. Let's get
- 33:22Speaker 1: into this episode. It says hear the notes racing, family
- 33:25Speaker 1: and off road roots. What's scary for you guys? Racing
- 33:28Speaker 1: and Balja or Tolladay you already said Baja is like
- 33:31Speaker 1: just session for you man.
- 33:35Speaker 3: The only thing the scary part about Baja racing, and
- 33:38Speaker 3: Zane's done it too a little bit, is just there's
- 33:40Speaker 3: no fences. So the people they they get very drunk
- 33:45Speaker 3: on some bls. Yeah, and they stand in the middle
- 33:48Speaker 3: of the road and see how long they can stand
- 33:49Speaker 3: there until they want to run away from the moving
- 33:53Speaker 3: vehicle going at ninety miles an hour.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and it yeah, like it's just like.
- 33:58Speaker 1: This is the most psychotic photo I've ever seen.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just like it's not smart. And then they
- 34:04Speaker 4: get super drunk and they'll throw snakes in the cockpit
- 34:06Speaker 4: with you.
- 34:07Speaker 1: It's just that that's hold on, now, let's let's put
- 34:09Speaker 1: a quick get up on that. They snakes in the.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Cock Well, they're just they're trying to like just entertainment fun.
- 34:15Speaker 4: This is like theirs their party.
- 34:17Speaker 5: Like one of uh, one of the if that happened
- 34:21Speaker 5: to me, herbs drugs. They h a cow came out
- 34:24Speaker 5: and they smoked it at like probably what one hundred
- 34:26Speaker 5: and thirty Yeah, and so like that's it's it's obviously real.
- 34:31Speaker 4: This is old eleven.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so this is not a not very scary, it's
- 34:35Speaker 1: more just like extremely entertaining. It's not scary for the driver.
- 34:39Speaker 1: It's more scary for the individuals.
- 34:41Speaker 4: For the driver.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Is hitting somebody genuinely yeah, like oh, in all seriousness,
- 34:45Speaker 3: because that happens, and it's it's super sad.
- 34:47Speaker 1: And yeah, I'm sure going one hundred thirty miles an
- 34:49Speaker 1: hour even yeah problem, Yeah, that's got to be awful.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Was so Talladega by far is much more terrifying than
- 34:56Speaker 1: doing Baja. Is there ever a moment of like fear
- 35:01Speaker 1: for you guys, like a level of anxiety that takes place.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I talk to so many drivers and they're like, yeah,
- 35:05Speaker 1: I really don't get nervous before races. Like for me,
- 35:08Speaker 1: I would get well, the national Anthem's playing on a
- 35:11Speaker 1: Sunday afternoon, and you're just sitting there, staying across the
- 35:13Speaker 1: field and you're just thinking yourself, like, I hope to
- 35:15Speaker 1: god I don't get found out today and exposed. There's
- 35:18Speaker 1: a level of anxiety. And then once you get the
- 35:19Speaker 1: first hit out of the way, you're back in it
- 35:21Speaker 1: and you're like, all right.
- 35:22Speaker 5: I'm in Super speed Ways for sure bring like a
- 35:24Speaker 5: different level of like that feeling because like there's so
- 35:28Speaker 5: much out of your control, so like, yeah, you're just
- 35:31Speaker 5: a part of other people's mess. But I don't know
- 35:34Speaker 5: about like scary. I mean sometimes we will see a
- 35:38Speaker 5: wreck where like someone might get upside down and get
- 35:40Speaker 5: like airborne, and you're like, oh.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Guykes, yeah right type of thing.
- 35:44Speaker 5: Yeah, and especially like once the car, you know, you
- 35:48Speaker 5: see some recks where they get into the catch fence,
- 35:50Speaker 5: Like that's scary for yeah us, but the fans too
- 35:53Speaker 5: well at Super Bad, Yeah, Dylan, but the Super Speedways
- 35:59Speaker 5: are those races with those big wrecks, so like it's
- 36:04Speaker 5: just kind of expected of like those those things are
- 36:06Speaker 5: gonna happen there.
- 36:07Speaker 1: No, the big res they happen on the bigger tracks,
- 36:10Speaker 1: on the short on the shorter trucks more.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Often big super seedways.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Okay, super So when you're racing in a place like
- 36:16Speaker 1: Atlanta this weekend, when it's only a mile long track,
- 36:19Speaker 1: there's not a lot of room for these massive big.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Kind of saying, can help me here. They kind of
- 36:24Speaker 3: reconfigured it so they just added a ship ton more banking.
- 36:27Speaker 3: So they just stood the corners up like straight up
- 36:31Speaker 3: basically so we could go wide open because the fans
- 36:34Speaker 3: like that type of stuff.
- 36:36Speaker 4: And so we're we're wrecking them Atlanta out. Yeah, I
- 36:38Speaker 4: mean we're wrecking it.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Atlanta fans want it. They're gonna fucking get it, dude.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:42Speaker 5: I think Atlanta is like one of the most fun
- 36:45Speaker 5: It's sketchy, but it's a ton of fun.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Like it's nitch because of the banking.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Well, it's a super speedway essentially, but everything happens ten
- 36:52Speaker 5: times as fast, so like a super speedway, like you
- 36:56Speaker 5: have a lot of time to like think about a
- 36:58Speaker 5: movie you're going to make down straight away, and like,
- 37:01Speaker 5: I don't know, there's a lot of time there at Atlanta,
- 37:03Speaker 5: Like you get these huge runs and you gotta do
- 37:05Speaker 5: something with it, and that's why the racing and the
- 37:07Speaker 5: finishes have been insane there and I've honestly enjoyed it.
- 37:10Speaker 5: It's yeah, super sketchy and like, yeah, there's probably gonna
- 37:13Speaker 5: be a solid wreck this week, but like it's just
- 37:16Speaker 5: just it, Yeah, exactly.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Just hope you're not in it man pretty much? Yes,
- 37:20Speaker 1: is there anybody glad?
- 37:22Speaker 2: Is there a track besides Daytona or Talladega that you
- 37:26Speaker 2: find like really sketchy maybe other than in Atlanta too,
- 37:28Speaker 2: that just people wouldn't realize is kind of like you
- 37:31Speaker 2: get yourself into more hairy situations and when we'd see.
- 37:34Speaker 5: I I feel like Texas is sketchy Texas.
- 37:37Speaker 3: But I also thought this two weeks ago at we
- 37:39Speaker 3: raced on a Navy base in Cornatuto. Yeah it was cool,
- 37:43Speaker 3: but like you just keep pushing the edge of the
- 37:46Speaker 3: envelope and then it's it's so slippery. I mean there's
- 37:48Speaker 3: jet fuel, there's everything, there's curbs, there's potholes, and so
- 37:53Speaker 3: if you push it too much or you're done for me.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really nice to have a waxing cress
- 37:57Speaker 1: in that moment.
- 37:57Speaker 4: Huh tell me, dude, ye, dude, at least six percent
- 38:01Speaker 4: more grit.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. But when you have jet full on the ground,
- 38:05Speaker 1: you gotta have. It's everything to you, guys. Huh when
- 38:08Speaker 1: did you guys learn about the waxing crescent?
- 38:09Speaker 3: Me and Noah learned, and Brisco learned about it together
- 38:12Speaker 3: because we're on the same team. Yeah, and Stuart Haas
- 38:14Speaker 3: racing before it shut down.
- 38:16Speaker 1: And that's when we we guys found out.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Yeah, we're headed to Richmond, Richmond, Virginia, and we're like,
- 38:21Speaker 3: why back in the eighties was Richmond all of a
- 38:24Speaker 3: sudden so fast one time? And then we pulled up
- 38:26Speaker 3: the moonface and it was a waxing crescent?
- 38:28Speaker 1: What made you pull up the moonface?
- 38:30Speaker 3: Because we were doing our homework studying for previous races,
- 38:32Speaker 3: and it was like sometimes Richmond is like really fast
- 38:36Speaker 3: and sometimes it's really slow. And then we were like,
- 38:39Speaker 3: let's see what the weather was, and then we didn't
- 38:42Speaker 3: kind of stumbled upon it that when you google, like
- 38:44Speaker 3: what's the weather like weather in Nashville, right, now most
- 38:47Speaker 3: of the time will come up with the moonface tonight.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Let me check that, check scroll down. Yeah, let's see
- 38:54Speaker 3: what's going on here. It's a Stuart Haas legend.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Right there.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Let's see here moonface weather. Yeah, anyone degrees in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 39:03Speaker 1: As I'm speaking, Sun says at eight oh seven pm.
- 39:08Speaker 1: All right, yeah, all right, next full moon is in
- 39:12Speaker 1: twenty two days.
- 39:12Speaker 4: There you go.
- 39:14Speaker 1: It's the last quarter moon whatever that means.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Yeah, who knows, man, who knows?
- 39:17Speaker 1: The only thing we worry about is a waxing crescent,
- 39:19Speaker 1: that's correct. Yeah, Dan, what did you figure out with
- 39:21Speaker 1: the waxing moon?
- 39:23Speaker 4: I was excuse me, I was never a part.
- 39:26Speaker 5: I always hear Noah just y app about this and
- 39:30Speaker 5: it's never never worked out for me, no matter what,
- 39:32Speaker 5: no matter what the moon is.
- 39:34Speaker 1: So do you does Noah talk about it enough for
- 39:37Speaker 1: you to go look into what moon is going to
- 39:39Speaker 1: take place?
- 39:40Speaker 5: Uh? Yeah, I mean honestly, it used to be like legos,
- 39:45Speaker 5: no I used to only really talk about that. It
- 39:47Speaker 5: became this moon phases, and eventually it became in one
- 39:51Speaker 5: ear out the other.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel like with Noah, there's a there's a
- 39:54Speaker 1: finite amount of time of actually listening to him, and
- 39:56Speaker 1: he actually, you have to find peace.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Helo remote, he's gonna.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Hit the new button. Not that I did it. How
- 40:01Speaker 1: about what's your sock game?
- 40:03Speaker 5: Like, dude, I was down a dangerous road of like
- 40:06Speaker 5: my lucky my lucky socks.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Some serious athletes foot taking place.
- 40:11Speaker 4: I have double athletes foot right now.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Do you really discuss I got it so bad when
- 40:15Speaker 1: I was younger.
- 40:16Speaker 4: So my left foot's all right, but my right foot
- 40:18Speaker 4: is the one that burned. Sometimes thought he had he
- 40:21Speaker 4: thought he had bunions. Yeah I did. I thought I
- 40:22Speaker 4: had a bunch.
- 40:23Speaker 3: But no, just bangs against the inside of the the
- 40:27Speaker 3: like tunnel of the car, and uh callouses and calases
- 40:32Speaker 3: and calases and so it.
- 40:33Speaker 4: Gets super wide.
- 40:33Speaker 1: It's a little bigger.
- 40:34Speaker 4: I can pull it out if you want. Oh yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 4: I'll take a peek, all right, just foul, dude. You
- 40:40Speaker 4: see it's like you get the thing away from me.
- 40:42Speaker 4: You see how it's like that?
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 40:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought that was just incoming bunyan.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Don't see a whole lot of athletes foot on that foot.
- 40:47Speaker 4: No, it's in between my toes, okay, purple.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a little lucky.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Yeah, it happens.
- 40:53Speaker 1: You had to put some some of that spray on there. Dude,
- 40:55Speaker 1: I had it. It was like from like toes and
- 40:58Speaker 1: then we go.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Up my feet in the don't have that, dude.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I feel like I was starting to scale up a
- 41:02Speaker 1: little bit.
- 41:02Speaker 4: I guess bad as relative that was that sounds.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like ten. I think puberty was just
- 41:07Speaker 1: starting to make its way into my world. And then
- 41:09Speaker 1: the sock. My hygiene must have not been great, still
- 41:12Speaker 1: not awesome, Like I don't have the best ig in
- 41:13Speaker 1: the world, but you just keep it pushing no matter what,
- 41:16Speaker 1: you know. So lucky sock.
- 41:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I had like these like slot machine socks where
- 41:22Speaker 5: like majority of my truck winds I was wearing those socks.
- 41:26Speaker 5: And then eventually you're just like this is actually like
- 41:30Speaker 5: super fucking disgusting. Yeah, and uh and then yeah, now
- 41:35Speaker 5: I just rip whatever comes comes to mind first. But honestly,
- 41:39Speaker 5: like I've I've been down the road of like lucky underwear,
- 41:42Speaker 5: uh huh, which is also like super gross, but I
- 41:46Speaker 5: mean they're always like fresh. It's just like those are
- 41:48Speaker 5: those are my Sundays.
- 41:49Speaker 1: You just want to make sure those are cleaned by Sunday.
- 41:51Speaker 1: You guys hear that in the football world, some guys
- 41:53Speaker 1: are stitious. I'm not very stitious. I like to I
- 41:57Speaker 1: would have like a routine in the way I would
- 41:58Speaker 1: get you know, ready for a game. It's cold tub,
- 42:01Speaker 1: a certain time, chiropractor, a different cold shower before. We'll
- 42:04Speaker 1: listen to the same song in the shower without headphones on.
- 42:07Speaker 5: There's still a big cold plunge.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Guy, Dude, I do. I've actually been lacking big time
- 42:11Speaker 1: in cold tubs for the past few months, but I
- 42:13Speaker 1: have one at the house.
- 42:15Speaker 5: I Yeah, the best thing in the world, dude.
- 42:20Speaker 1: It's the best thing to do in the morning. It's
- 42:22Speaker 1: the hardest thing to do in the morning. But if
- 42:24Speaker 1: you can do those three minutes is buddy.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Yeah, you get out of there.
- 42:28Speaker 1: You feel like you're just it's a level of high
- 42:30Speaker 1: that's like, okay, I'm gonna ride this to.
- 42:32Speaker 5: Like you can never get used to it as well.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Yeah, Like there's levels of like tolerance. Tolerance will get
- 42:39Speaker 1: a little bit better the more consistent you do it.
- 42:41Speaker 1: But it's always like that, I don't want to fucking
- 42:44Speaker 1: do this. Yeah, and then you're gonna do it. And
- 42:47Speaker 1: then once you get out, You're like, I'm so glad
- 42:48Speaker 1: I did this, But I've looked at my cold tub
- 42:51Speaker 1: the last ship Ben just like I got to get
- 42:55Speaker 1: in there, and I'm like, tomorrow I get into the cold.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Disciplines have not been great.
- 42:58Speaker 5: Cold shower is so much worse than a cold plunge.
- 43:02Speaker 1: See, I don't mind the cold. I think the cold shower.
- 43:03Speaker 1: You just get in there, you hit it fast, and
- 43:05Speaker 1: it's a it's the friction of the skin to me
- 43:07Speaker 1: that saves me a little bit. That cold punge. Like
- 43:09Speaker 1: there's no there's no getting away because the more you move,
- 43:12Speaker 1: the worst it's gonna get.
- 43:13Speaker 5: We had, uh, one of our breaks the Berry Buddies
- 43:16Speaker 5: exactly during his wedding. We were like on an island
- 43:20Speaker 5: and uh like we were all in these like huts
- 43:23Speaker 5: and like we were like, this is during the off season.
- 43:25Speaker 5: We're all like pretty hung over, and everybody had cold
- 43:28Speaker 5: showers and we would literally all be like turning on
- 43:32Speaker 5: the shower probably at the same time. Men rather be
- 43:35Speaker 5: like how long you stare at that thing?
- 43:36Speaker 4: Man, I just want to get in it.
- 43:39Speaker 5: It has to get warmer.
- 43:40Speaker 4: Man.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Is there any like what puts you on cold tubs?
- 43:44Speaker 1: Like is that like a.
- 43:47Speaker 5: So we're in uh Cobbo. This is right after I
- 43:50Speaker 5: won the Truck Series Championship and uh we flew out
- 43:56Speaker 5: with Riley and went down there and there's like this like, uh,
- 44:01Speaker 5: I don't like men's lounge type deal where it's like
- 44:04Speaker 5: sauna and yeah, sound sounds bad, but yeah there's like
- 44:08Speaker 5: a cold plunge. Oh yeah that was me. That was
- 44:10Speaker 5: the night out right there.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Yeah, squid Row will get everybody man, squid Row will
- 44:16Speaker 3: take you down squid Road undefeated.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 5: But I remember I was like next level hungover and uh,
- 44:26Speaker 5: Riley's dad was like in the Cold Plunge and just
- 44:29Speaker 5: sitting there like I just thought it was like pretty
- 44:32Speaker 5: much a hot tub or like room temperature water. And
- 44:35Speaker 5: I remember walking in there and like I was in
- 44:38Speaker 5: shock and I had like never heard about it or anything.
- 44:40Speaker 5: And I went from like deathly hungover to walking in
- 44:44Speaker 5: there and instantly cured. And so since then, I'm like
- 44:48Speaker 5: these are cold Plunge matric.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Cold Plunge is the absolute game. It's the starter pack
- 44:53Speaker 1: of all health and wellness.
- 44:54Speaker 5: Yes, facts have do you have you.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Ventured into any more bio hacking things?
- 44:59Speaker 7: Uh?
- 45:00Speaker 5: Sauna guy yeah, I'm a big sauna guy or traditional infrared, gotcha.
- 45:06Speaker 5: So I got kind of a funny story. I raced, uh,
- 45:10Speaker 5: I did a cup race like it was just a
- 45:12Speaker 5: one off deal at Martinsville, and my everything cooling failed
- 45:17Speaker 5: and it was like the hottest I've ever been inside
- 45:20Speaker 5: the car, and I ordered like a it was a
- 45:23Speaker 5: nice sauna, but I ordered it on Amazon on my
- 45:25Speaker 5: way home as my wife drove me home, and I'm like,
- 45:26Speaker 5: I'll never be that miserable in the car again. And
- 45:30Speaker 5: so like you're supposed to only sauna for like fifteen
- 45:33Speaker 5: minutes twenty minutes until you like you break a sweat,
- 45:35Speaker 5: but like I'll I enjoy like sitting in there for like.
- 45:37Speaker 1: An hour, no shit, Like, yeah, the infrareds look at
- 45:41Speaker 1: like one sixty five, Yeah sixty five.
- 45:44Speaker 5: It feels way hotter than one sixty five.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Dude, those yeah, because they have those fucking panels and
- 45:49Speaker 1: then for whatever reason, like yeah, cooks you from the
- 45:51Speaker 1: inside out.
- 45:52Speaker 5: Literally you're sitting like on the panel.
- 45:53Speaker 1: I went through the infrared for a little bit. I'm
- 45:55Speaker 1: definitely into the traditional now and I'll do like like
- 45:58Speaker 1: two hundred two hundred degrees at time twenty minutes and
- 46:01Speaker 1: I'll hit that like three four times a week. But
- 46:02Speaker 1: there's like HGH protocols you can do that are just horrible.
- 46:06Speaker 5: It's like with the rocks.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it has like the traditional rocks, but like the
- 46:11Speaker 1: protocol you do is like you thirty minutes a two
- 46:13Speaker 1: hundred degrees and you get out and you just air
- 46:15Speaker 1: cool for five minutes and immediately get back in for
- 46:18Speaker 1: another thirty minutes, and it's like you're talking to God
- 46:21Speaker 1: type of like like you just feel horrendous. Then you
- 46:24Speaker 1: take a couple hour break and you go back and
- 46:27Speaker 1: do the same thirty minutes, five minutes, thirty minutes, end
- 46:29Speaker 1: on a cold tub. After you do it, you feel
- 46:32Speaker 1: amazing or super drained. But you should only do like
- 46:34Speaker 1: once every week, every couple of weeks. And it's supposed
- 46:37Speaker 1: like trick your protuitary gland into releasing like h like testosterone,
- 46:41Speaker 1: healthy things in your body that can grow, muscle, recovery,
- 46:45Speaker 1: all those things. It's interesting, dude, there's so many things
- 46:48Speaker 1: in the biohacking world. It's just nuts. Have you had
- 46:50Speaker 1: sort of NAD Yeah? Have you done it?
- 46:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 46:52Speaker 1: Dude, how miserable drip?
- 46:54Speaker 3: Yes, dude, it was it was crazy. So we all
- 46:56Speaker 3: uh shout out COVID. We all got and we were
- 47:00Speaker 3: headed on a family vacation and we have some someboddies
- 47:04Speaker 3: back home right when this kind of started saying that
- 47:07Speaker 3: this will help the COVID stuff. And so we all
- 47:09Speaker 3: got the ivy drips of NAD and that's a head
- 47:13Speaker 3: rush man.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy, dude. The end is so crazy because
- 47:17Speaker 1: it's like the number one fountain of youth, Joe. You
- 47:20Speaker 1: can do, but while you're doing it, you feel like
- 47:21Speaker 1: you have the flu.
- 47:23Speaker 4: It's insane.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you really, You're gonna throw up. I've thrown up
- 47:25Speaker 1: multiple times doing it. Oh yeah, yeah, dude. The first
- 47:28Speaker 1: time I did NAD, so like the normal amountain that
- 47:31Speaker 1: people do now, like the max is like seven fifty
- 47:34Speaker 1: of NAD.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:35Speaker 1: And the guy I met, he was an anesthesiologist and
- 47:38Speaker 1: he was starting the IVY world names Adam Bobo. He
- 47:40Speaker 1: was a company called airte here in Nashville. He's like, hey,
- 47:43Speaker 1: FDA have done studies up to seventeen hundred or eighteen
- 47:46Speaker 1: fifty of NAD, so we'll just we'll do that. So
- 47:49Speaker 1: I would do eighteen fifty of energy and him and
- 47:53Speaker 1: him and my wife would get high and play Mario
- 47:55Speaker 1: Kart while I for three hours, like sat on this
- 47:58Speaker 1: drip and just felt like I was absolutely dying. It
- 48:00Speaker 1: was the most horrendous experience of mind.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Is a crazy feeling. Why it makes you feel like that?
- 48:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but after, dude, I mean cognitively, you feel fantastic.
- 48:07Speaker 1: It's yeah, it's supposed to be unreal. Have you done it?
- 48:10Speaker 2: No?
- 48:10Speaker 1: You it's awesome. It's it's horrible when you do it.
- 48:15Speaker 1: But once you're done, you feel like a million domestic. Yeah,
- 48:18Speaker 1: feel good about it anyway, all of it. That's that.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Do you just want to play a little game, Let's
- 48:22Speaker 4: do it.
- 48:23Speaker 1: All right, We're gonna we're gonna put up some photos
- 48:25Speaker 1: for you guys, and we're gonna give you one. You're
- 48:28Speaker 1: gonna get one word to describe the individual that you see. Yeah,
- 48:34Speaker 1: all right, you're right excited. You don't look very excited
- 48:37Speaker 1: about this.
- 48:37Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't. It's just the photos.
- 48:40Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 48:41Speaker 1: There's somebody.
- 48:44Speaker 4: I hope they're like fun photos.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I hope they are too. I don't. I haven't even
- 48:47Speaker 1: seen it. Yeah, this is if you're mad about any
- 48:49Speaker 1: of them. The two guys in the back are the
- 48:50Speaker 1: ones that did this? All right? First photo, Oh boss,
- 48:55Speaker 1: boss Rich Rich Okay, all right? Next photo.
- 49:04Speaker 5: Unique Huskins.
- 49:08Speaker 4: I was gonna say that he actually still all right?
- 49:10Speaker 7: Next photo, Oh my god, mess.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Is there any individual more psycholic than this guy right here?
- 49:27Speaker 5: He's just it depends if he's on his medicine or not.
- 49:30Speaker 1: He's on that riddling, that riddling game.
- 49:32Speaker 5: Yeah whatever, I.
- 49:36Speaker 7: Dose.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Guy.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Are you guys able to share the story of why
- 49:39Speaker 2: he went to military school?
- 49:41Speaker 1: Yeah? I would love to hear that more.
- 49:43Speaker 4: I mean just enough wasn't enough right, Like, yeah, there
- 49:48Speaker 4: was a specific No, it was not specific.
- 49:51Speaker 5: Here's like a good example of like, no. When I
- 49:53Speaker 5: first went over to his house, it was like everything
- 49:56Speaker 5: was very like clean, immaculate. Uh. It was like his
- 50:01Speaker 5: room was over here and his sister's room was on
- 50:03Speaker 5: the other end, like you'd see a sister's room and
- 50:05Speaker 5: it was like spotless, spotless. You go and No's room
- 50:10Speaker 5: and dude, it's just a it's a train wreck.
- 50:12Speaker 4: Like it's not even like a normal twelve year old
- 50:15Speaker 4: kid's room.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Like it's just like, dude, he had like a nice
- 50:19Speaker 5: shower with like every sticker you could think of from
- 50:23Speaker 5: all over the glass. And then he had an obsession
- 50:25Speaker 5: with like no stars, career pole position, go card like
- 50:29Speaker 5: indoor go car track and he would keep like every sheet.
- 50:33Speaker 4: You know when you go to a go card track,
- 50:34Speaker 4: you get that little sheet of paper.
- 50:36Speaker 5: Like where you ranked, like I was fourth today, Like
- 50:39Speaker 5: he would like you save it car.
- 50:42Speaker 1: They give you a she jack shout cracker jacks in Arizona.
- 50:45Speaker 4: Shout out, they give you a sheet. It's like where
- 50:47Speaker 4: you placed. Yeah, okay, like your lifetime.
- 50:49Speaker 5: Like literally I have never I think every time I've
- 50:52Speaker 5: like went to an indoor go card place, I've never
- 50:54Speaker 5: once looked at one of those. But like he would
- 50:56Speaker 5: save dude, I mean like a hundred of them and
- 50:58Speaker 5: like thousand staple then to his on.
- 51:01Speaker 4: This wall, very nice home.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Oh and also had like everybody that came in his
- 51:07Speaker 5: room sign the wall, like like the gardener.
- 51:11Speaker 3: Yeah, the pool man, Like it's just it was not
- 51:14Speaker 3: a hand man, like it'd be like a coke can
- 51:16Speaker 3: be Like no, it's still like this thing.
- 51:18Speaker 4: What you know that coke can. This is such a
- 51:20Speaker 4: cool design.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Like his brain would get infatuated with the designs of cocaine.
- 51:25Speaker 5: Just like ran just like yeah, like he would he
- 51:28Speaker 5: might have stole something from this bus man as like
- 51:31Speaker 5: an antique to remember when he was on the show.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so you.
- 51:34Speaker 4: Should probably check check the camera, wonder dude.
- 51:37Speaker 1: You know what we should do is after the podcast
- 51:39Speaker 1: and just keep the cameras rolling just in case.
- 51:41Speaker 4: Like snags with like yeah, so there wasn't like a
- 51:45Speaker 4: unique story, but it was just like, it's just probably
- 51:49Speaker 4: a lot to manage.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I can't imagine. I'm assuming you guys don't have kids, correct, Okay,
- 51:54Speaker 1: I can't. I have two kids, one on the way.
- 51:56Speaker 1: I cannot imagine the way you're explaining no a child,
- 52:00Speaker 1: like being the parent and not sending them to military school.
- 52:04Speaker 1: It's got to be at some point as a parent,
- 52:07Speaker 1: I'd be like, we can't fix this. And then all
- 52:10Speaker 1: of a sudden he finds this thing. He's obviously clearly
- 52:12Speaker 1: very successful. Now it's good for him and awsome it
- 52:14Speaker 1: all worked out, but at twelve years old, being like, hey, honey,
- 52:18Speaker 1: the gardener just signed the wall. First off, the gardener
- 52:21Speaker 1: needs to know better what are you going to do
- 52:25Speaker 1: a twelve year old kid for? And I think you've
- 52:27Speaker 1: clearly probably told your kid multiple times like please stop
- 52:30Speaker 1: having people sign the wall and.
- 52:31Speaker 5: He like, I know, like he didn't. I bet you.
- 52:35Speaker 5: He like told the gardener, hey, man, like come inside
- 52:37Speaker 5: and just like sign sign the wall. And I know no,
- 52:41Speaker 5: his mom is probably like, no, not him signed that wall.
- 52:44Speaker 5: Just ignore, man, just ignore.
- 52:47Speaker 4: She's standing in the door. Man, she's cool. Don't worry
- 52:50Speaker 4: about her.
- 52:52Speaker 1: She's like, I don't fucking Okay, that's.
- 52:55Speaker 4: Every signature is on that wall. Man.
- 52:58Speaker 1: We got we got one more photo.
- 53:01Speaker 5: Yeah, oh yeah, ah bum fuck. I don't know. That's that's.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Bum You could yeah, you could un hyphenated just for one.
- 53:15Speaker 4: I just I don't like how he drives with this
- 53:17Speaker 4: shield open.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Pisces you off it does? That's that the way you
- 53:20Speaker 1: should be driving cars.
- 53:22Speaker 4: No, it's just that I said one word, man, I know, man,
- 53:25Speaker 4: give me.
- 53:26Speaker 1: One word, Give me one word. We can talk about him.
- 53:33Speaker 4: And mm hmm.
- 53:36Speaker 5: His fans are the worst part. Have you ever seen,
- 53:37Speaker 5: Like I'm thinking you're saying, like the South Park huge
- 53:41Speaker 5: guy that's like typing on the keyboard. Those are like
- 53:46Speaker 5: all of all of this fans come for you. Huh yeah, god, yeah,
- 53:49Speaker 5: he's got the worst fans. What you're saying pretty much? Oh,
- 53:52Speaker 5: I mean I feel like the whole industry.
- 53:53Speaker 1: I don't think that's gonna bode well. I don't think
- 53:55Speaker 1: that clip is going to bode well for the fans
- 53:57Speaker 1: in your.
- 53:57Speaker 5: Relationship for sure. That's it. That's there right there.
- 54:02Speaker 1: That's fucking funny. Carson Hosover's fan base.
- 54:06Speaker 5: Very much right there.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:08Speaker 1: So his fans are the worst part of him or
- 54:09Speaker 1: he's the worst part of him.
- 54:11Speaker 5: Both? Yeah, okay, both, I mean yeah, both.
- 54:15Speaker 4: All right.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Hey, you know what, I love a good storyline. I
- 54:19Speaker 1: love something that just gets people more invested into what's
- 54:22Speaker 1: gonna go happen, and in this case, on the track
- 54:24Speaker 1: every Sunday and this is gonna come out and his
- 54:27Speaker 1: fans are gonna put your walk into your car and
- 54:28Speaker 1: they be like, oh, fuck you fucking piece of sham. Yeah,
- 54:33Speaker 1: it's yeah, it's kind of nice to be hated sometimes.
- 54:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 1: People go out, give you some ship, get after it,
- 54:38Speaker 1: and then you win and you're saying.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Okay, what's your word A nuisance?
- 54:44Speaker 1: A nuisance? Nuisance?
- 54:48Speaker 4: I mean, how's that word checked out? Perfectly?
- 54:52Speaker 1: Nuisance? Like a nat All right, fair enough. This is
- 54:55Speaker 1: my favorite driver, by the way, I know it is.
- 54:58Speaker 1: He's my favorite driver. Never met him. Yeah, he rocks
- 55:01Speaker 1: seventy seven. I love and your face right now, like
- 55:04Speaker 1: our relationships dead water.
- 55:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I appreciate why.
- 55:08Speaker 1: Here's why, dude. Every single driver that's come on this bus, well,
- 55:13Speaker 1: you guys have been the most blunt about it. But
- 55:15Speaker 1: after I'll be like, nah, fuck that guy, the way
- 55:18Speaker 1: he drives. All this, I think Larson said basically question
- 55:22Speaker 1: like this basically said I don't respect the guy because
- 55:25Speaker 1: the way he drives, and something about some dude just
- 55:28Speaker 1: solely sitting on an island and being hated by everybody. Essentially,
- 55:31Speaker 1: the joker from Batman is just like he's like, yeah,
- 55:35Speaker 1: fuck it. Does he have any friends in Nascar?
- 55:38Speaker 4: Uh?
- 55:39Speaker 1: I might meet him and hate him. Yeah, I'm so
- 55:41Speaker 1: new to the game. I might just be you know.
- 55:43Speaker 4: I don't think you'll hate him. I mean he's yeah,
- 55:47Speaker 4: I don't think you'll you'll hate him. He's got some friends.
- 55:49Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, yeah for sure, but he's not you guys. No,
- 55:53Speaker 5: And like a lot of it's like an act to
- 55:55Speaker 5: get people to like it's buy in on it.
- 55:57Speaker 4: The Jersey Jerry bit man.
- 55:58Speaker 1: He's got me saying yeah he gied me, Yeah damn it.
- 56:03Speaker 4: But I mean it good for him, but like, to
- 56:06Speaker 4: be fair, I don't really have any friends either. It's
- 56:08Speaker 4: just like Zane and Noah.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Yeah, like what a top two friend group.
- 56:12Speaker 4: To have though, Yeah, just three electric friends.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Yeah you look at those two boys. Really, I got them.
- 56:17Speaker 1: That's all I need. Yeah, I love that. I love that.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Zane puts it best, like, because I don't know you've
- 56:23Speaker 3: been to you came to Nashville, right, yeah, yeah, did
- 56:26Speaker 3: you see the driver intros at all?
- 56:28Speaker 1: I don't think I did well.
- 56:29Speaker 4: They like hurle you onto this thing like cattle.
- 56:32Speaker 1: Oh, so I've been a part of that before.
- 56:34Speaker 4: And Zane's like, what do you say, Like, why am
- 56:37Speaker 4: I gonna try to small talk with you?
- 56:38Speaker 5: It's like yeah, like whenever I don't know someone like
- 56:42Speaker 5: that where you'll have like run ins with like certain guys,
- 56:45Speaker 5: and you'll have that throughout your career with like certain people,
- 56:49Speaker 5: like he'll like try to talk to you after saying
- 56:51Speaker 5: like hey, we're not like I don't talk to anybody
- 56:55Speaker 5: out there, Like he's full of shit, Like he tries
- 56:57Speaker 5: to be your buddy, and then we'll like go and
- 57:00Speaker 5: screw you, and so it's like, just don't talk to
- 57:03Speaker 5: me in the first place. Because like one, I don't
- 57:05Speaker 5: like you and we're gonna eventually have a run in together,
- 57:08Speaker 5: so like that's just not talking the first place.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Yes, you're drawing a line in the sand right away. Yeah.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Is there was it actions that you've seen that made
- 57:16Speaker 1: you be like no, no, no, fuck this guy, don't want
- 57:18Speaker 1: to deal with him? Or is it actions.
- 57:19Speaker 5: To honestly, like my approach with like Carson, because like
- 57:24Speaker 5: he's fast, Like so me and him had a run
- 57:28Speaker 5: in together at uh at Iowa, and like we've like
- 57:33Speaker 5: raced hard and whatnot, and like there's a difference between
- 57:36Speaker 5: like certain guys like race you hard. Like he'll just
- 57:38Speaker 5: put us both like in a bad spot to where
- 57:41Speaker 5: it's just like costing us lap time and like we're
- 57:43Speaker 5: not neither of us are benefiting from it. Yeah, it's
- 57:47Speaker 5: like that part gets like frustrating, but I remember it's
- 57:50Speaker 5: like made a mistake or I don't know if you
- 57:52Speaker 5: made a mistake but wrecked us. And then uh, like
- 57:56Speaker 5: I'm not. He spends the rest of the race like
- 57:59Speaker 5: wave at me, like play a nice guy of like
- 58:02Speaker 5: oh man, I'm so sorry, so sorry, and then goes
- 58:04Speaker 5: on social media and like posts like admit one like
- 58:07Speaker 5: I don't give a fuck.
- 58:08Speaker 4: Like take a number, yeah, like when you're at the
- 58:10Speaker 4: deli line.
- 58:11Speaker 5: So it's like, if you're gonna be the guy like
- 58:15Speaker 5: hiding beyond social media, like I don't know, that's a
- 58:17Speaker 5: coward in my opinion, like act like act that way
- 58:20Speaker 5: in person, like say that to my face and it's
- 58:23Speaker 5: like all right, like I'm gonna be the same way,
- 58:25Speaker 5: but don't be one way like in person and then
- 58:29Speaker 5: hide behind your phone and as if you're.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Not going to see it then particularly all over again. Yeah,
- 58:34Speaker 1: that makes sense. I can understand why that's extremely frustrating.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Is this guy, I mean everything every week you seeing
- 58:39Speaker 1: a wreck every single week?
- 58:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 58:42Speaker 5: Yeah, he causes stuff pretty often.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Yeah. And is he also the one he's getting pulled
- 58:46Speaker 1: out of the race as well, or is he like
- 58:48Speaker 1: causing a wreck and somehow getting out of it.
- 58:50Speaker 4: Definitely getting out of it.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's gonna be even more infuriating.
- 58:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, like I don't know, I do you
- 58:58Speaker 5: don't like try to like go down a road of
- 59:01Speaker 5: like oh my gosh, I hope he gets wrecked or
- 59:04Speaker 5: something like that, like you're focused on your own own race.
- 59:08Speaker 5: But it's just it's yeah, the behind hiding bewn the
- 59:12Speaker 5: phone is what's the most annoying point.
- 59:13Speaker 1: How hard is it for both of you to keep
- 59:15Speaker 1: your composure when you're having runnings like this, whether it's
- 59:17Speaker 1: Carson or somebody else, Like I'm sure there's been multiple
- 59:20Speaker 1: times your career there's always going to be a bad
- 59:22Speaker 1: guy in your mind of like, Okay, he's done X,
- 59:25Speaker 1: Y and Z to me and you're on the race track,
- 59:27Speaker 1: you're right next to each other, Like how how difficult
- 59:30Speaker 1: is it to have the discipline to focus on your
- 59:32Speaker 1: race and not focus on the individual next to you.
- 59:35Speaker 4: Well, it's it's tough, at least for me in the beginning,
- 59:38Speaker 4: because like, sure, if it happens on like week seven,
- 59:41Speaker 4: you got like thirty two more together, or if like
- 59:44Speaker 4: you get into a run in with like Josh Norman,
- 59:47Speaker 4: I don't know if you'll see him again until maybe
- 59:49Speaker 4: the playoffs or something like that. I haven't seen him since, yeah, exactly.
- 59:52Speaker 3: So like for us, it's like, man, you kind of
- 59:55Speaker 3: don't want to get ran over, But it's also like
- 59:57Speaker 3: you guys kind of have to co exist for thirty
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: nine weeks of the year, and so like I don't know,
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: it's a it's a weird dichotomy.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta you. There's definitely a balancing act that
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: has to take places. You have to stand up for yourself, yes,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: but also you have to realize like there's a line
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: that you can't cross because if you do, they could
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: take it one way. Yeah, and you have a career
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: to worry about. You have a whole season to worry about.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: So it is. It's a it's fascinating dynamic that this
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: guy is kind of put into the NASCAR world as
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: just a viewer sitting back and watching it all unfold
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: as if it's a storyline, truly entertainment for me, Like
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: you guys are sitting in a world of like this
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: is your careers. I'm sitting here as a fan of
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: the sport watching yeah and being like yeah, and so
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: it looks it's fun. It's much different. Yeah, it's fun.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: It's more fun for the viewer to see these things.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, dude, why don't we Whin's somebody
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: gonna swing on this guy when somebody they can't.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Now you get seventy seventy five grand immediately.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Yeah, But also, like you know, we all know the
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: story of the bully, right, Like, there's always the schoolyard bully.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: He's a jerk. He treats people, he takes people's lunch money.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: He's a little bit bigger than everybody else. All it
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: takes is one kid just kiss him right in the chin,
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, that boy's acting a
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: little bit different. Someone's gonna step to the line. You know,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm trying to talk to you
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: guys into fighting until the seventy five grand He's like
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: something to think about.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: He's like the slim Reaper, like KD.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: Man.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: He's a lengthy Yeah.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Yes, he's got some reaching them a lot. And honestly
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I would have been like, hey, he'll probably take you,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: no problem. But after watching that bench press like you
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: got yeah you did your body weight ten times?
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: Yeah, something like for the kids.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Extremely impressive. So if you guys went toes, you think
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: he'd getting that body a little bit. Are we talking octagon, Yeah,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: we're talking octagon. All's fair in love and war.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I feel like I got man, I feel
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: like I got the endurance. I think I could wear
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: them out.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Yeah, not the mat yeah, over and over and over again.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: You woke it up with a smile, and I would
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: being like, man.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: Dream about you've paid many of fines. Man, if you'll
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: pay my fine, I.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Won't put your fine, but I don't make what I
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: used to make back then, I was like, this is
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: just we're fine right off. Now I look back in
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: them like I really should have fucking thought about this.
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: I could have used that.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I could have used that. That'd have been nice to have.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: They don't tell you that football just ends abruptly for you.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Sometimes gets out of there. But yeah, seventy five, I
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: feel like gofund me. Yeah, and at least like, let's
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: just take forty of that final way now looks a
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: whole lot nice. Yeah, and you can write it off.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: The question is.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Now you're kind of locked in. It's kinda free. It's
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: free yeah.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: For the kids.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, exactly for the kids to don't kids, We'll
