Molly: Thank you so much. I'm so excited for the second day. I'm mostly excited because we don't actually know which game we're to play yet. Molly: So we're gonna pull three cards and of course the first choice is gonna be What Do We Desire? Fight is going to be engaging in combat in some kind of way or like what are we... Stella Esoterica: Who do we have beef with? Molly: Who do you have beef with? What are we opposed to? And become is what quality would we want to step into. You ready? Okay, Stella Esoterica: Okay, okay, nice, nice, got it. Molly: so instead of fuck, marry, push, a cliff, we're doing fuck, fight, become. Ho ho! The excitement never ends. Stella Esoterica: So I'm excited for this. Molly: Okay, we are going to, okay, interesting one. We've had two court cards come out. Stella Esoterica: interesting. There were no chord cards last time. So that that feels more Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: appropriate to the game. Molly: Hmm, we have the queen of swords. Stella Esoterica: okay, okay. Molly: We have the Knight of Pentacles. Stella Esoterica: He's been chasing me lately. Molly: okay. And we have the Ace of Swords. Stella Esoterica: we got the ace of swords last time, didn't we? Because that was who I decided to marry. Yeah. Molly: my goodness. This one's following you as well. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: So, fuck, fight, become. What are you thinking? Stella Esoterica: the Queen of Swords feels like an obvious one for become because all of the Queens have such sovereignty and sort of expertise in their suit. You know, there's a the the mature feminine is just such an appealing relationship to any of the suits. And then I I don't know if I feel like fighting the Knight of Pentacles just because he's been coming up in a lot of spreads for me lately. And I appreciate the message. Slow, steady wins the race, you know. I'm an Aries. I find it frustrating at times. and would mean fucking the ace of swords. Which I mean Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: a a sudden moment of insight, clarity, perspective. Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: yeah. That's the yeah, that's the gut response breakdown. But Molly: Hmm. Yeah, I think, I mean, it's a really interesting bunch because I don't think there's one there that I am immediately wanting to enter into combat with or feel like I... Stella Esoterica: Yeah, agreed. Molly: Because I think what's really nice about this particular, I mean, I create the PDF, right? Like, I created all the games. So obviously, I have some kind of affinity to them, but I like the way that, like, the difference in words between push off a cliff and fight. because push Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: off the cliff is quite an easy get rid of and there's Stella Esoterica: Yeah, yeah. Molly: no, yeah, there's no kind of charge. Well, of course there's a charge to it. Like you're pushing, you're getting rid of the energy, but fight is certainly is a, yeah, a very different energy. So I'm not very good with conflict. This is what I'm thinking of, right? Because push of a cliff is slightly avoidant, isn't it? In terms of it's wanting to... Stella Esoterica: It is, it is, yeah. We don't we don't know the context. Did they see you coming? Did you make eye contact before you push them off the cliff? Molly: in my case, most cases, no. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: in some episodes I have said like, okay, I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna offer a rope down to the hanged man to pull him up again after Lane pushed the hanged man off a cliff. Or Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Yeah. Molly: I might, you know, I think I gently pushed the Ace of Cups off a cliff once. I was like, just a little boop. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Yeah. Molly: But it tends, is a slightly avoidant thing to just like Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: not look. whereas Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: the word fight very much has the element of conflict and the of engagement. So there's not Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: a card in there that I would, you know, feel very strongly towards getting into conflict with and I certainly, without a doubt, would not get into conflict with the Queen of Swords. Absolutely Stella Esoterica: Queen of Swords. Molly: not. No way. She would destroy me. She would rinse me all out. Stella Esoterica: Yeah, my toxic trait is that I think I could maybe take her. Molly: Do you think so? I couldn't, I cry too much. I love engaging with conversations around difference of opinion. I love very vulnerable conversations in relationship. I encourage and actively want to have conversations with people that I've hurt or that have hurt me and come to some kind of resolution. Queen of swords. No, no, no conflict. I should make me cry. should make me cry. I'm too sensitive Stella Esoterica: Yeah. I think she would make you cry. Yeah. Your little Taurus heart. Molly: My poor taurian heart can't take it. And the Virgo part of me that just wants to please and do everything right. And she'd be like, you're not doing anything right. And I'm like, I love me, please love me. Yeah, no, that would absolutely happen. But all of that to say that, and I've said this in maybe one or two other episodes, I find the queen of swords very confronting. And I find her confronting because she very much speaks to the power of language because when we think about swords we're thinking about the thinking function and language and voice is one of the clearest ways that our thinking function is able to articulate and categorize and distinguish so there's very much an element of like using voice and using clarity in order to you know for for your your better good for for yourself and Stella Esoterica: Mm-hmm. Molly: I find her confronting just because she's so direct and to the point she ain't no people pleaser. And so maybe if I'm becoming her, it's like that Jungian compensation, right? Like think she's probably what I need the most of is Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: yeah, like that voice and that clarity and the boundaries because... Sometimes I'm not good at it. Sometimes I can tend to have a tendency to people please. And so I would wish to become the queen of swords. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Well because you're not going to become an ace really, are you, when you have an option for a queen or maybe even a king. I I don't I don't want to become the Knight of Pentacles. I'll just say that definitely. I if anything, I need less caution in my life. So Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: that's that's definitely not in the become category. So we're left with either the queen or the ace. Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: And there's something they're all archetypes, right? All the cards are archetypes. But there's something so pure and archetypal about the aces that I it feels like I would be like opening the box at the end of Indiana Jones, If I became the ace of swords, I would lose all like human connection and Yeah, yeah, I would just I would Molly: You're just disappearing to the ether. Stella Esoterica: just become the concept of good judgment. So it almost feels like quite a straightforward spread. I completely agree about the I think I mentioned this in the last podcast because of the ace of swords, but I don't have I'm a Gemini ascendant, but I don't have any other air in my chart. So Molly: Hmm. Stella Esoterica: air is something I think I'm always seeking. I read a lot and I think a lot and I but it's like it's something that I'm always consciously trying to cultivate. and, you know, I have like my Mercury is in Pisces. So my planet of communication and thinking and language is in the sign of boundaryless emotion and image. And you know, it's a great placement Molly: Wishy washy. Stella Esoterica: for like a poet, but not when you're trying to draw boundaries or Molly: Hmm. Stella Esoterica: engage in conflict or yeah. I think I think the queen is very valuable medicine in those contexts. I I do think Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: like with the swords and the wands, I find the queen can be she can be harsh, she can be cold, but if we're thinking of her in her, you know, greatest form, her most positive connecting, like you say about language, language has such a capacity to connect as well, to connect us. And in the same way that good boundaries do, you know, they make for better connection. Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: and I think all the queens embody that to a certain extent, they're they're fundamentally relational. So yeah, Molly: Hmm. Stella Esoterica: I think it's gonna have to be my first thread. I'm gonna I'm gonna become Queen of Swords. I'm gonna fuck the ace of swords. And then the reason that I want to fight the critical Molly: Yeah, what is going on with this night of pentacles? feel like my taurian, my taurus work baggo feels a bit offended. Stella Esoterica: I do have I have a Taurus Venus. and I do appreciate taking things slowly at the right time. But I think his his stationary horse bothers me in the Rider Wait deck, you know. He's not moving at all. and I can appreciate his like I said, he is savoring the pentacle. He is waiting To do everything right before he makes his move. But I just think maybe it's because Saturn is in Aries right now. But I think I think we can overprepare. I think we can miss the moment sometimes by trying to have thought of every eventuality before taking Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: a step, you know? Sometimes you don't know until you're on the move. And sometimes it comes to you. When once you start moving, you know what to do, but Molly: once you start moving in. Stella Esoterica: you have to be moving to Molly: Hmm, what and this is where the fun gets to come in because you're not just gonna get to be able to push him off a cliff and walk away. What would this fight look like? Stella Esoterica: I am imagining pushing him and just nothing happening. Yeah. I I don't know, Molly: Just completely stuck in the ground. Stella Esoterica: I I I can also imagine me being like, I have issues with you. I have things I need to say to you, you know, and just like firing them at him, like all of my critiques, Molly: Mm. Stella Esoterica: all of my issues. Molly: That is exactly how I imagined it in your version is Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: just if we take this particular image he's just so in his seeds he's on Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: the he's on a bit of land and he's just plodding along and out of nowhere you come out and you're like hey I've got something to say and then you run up to him and you're just all of this why aren't you doing this you need to do that so slow and I feel like he feels a bit like an ant from Lord of the Rings Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Yeah. I was thinking it was his response. I think he would just shut down. Molly: when they yeah maybe not even a freeze response but just such a Stella Esoterica: Such a slow Molly: I see mm-hmm and even then I can feel you get if if we make this into Stella Esoterica: Impatience, yeah. Molly: a cartoon this would be like steam coming out of the ears Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Or where the legs are spinning and spinning and spinning, but I'm still in the same spot. Molly: He's put his hand against your head and you're like... Stella Esoterica: Yeah, kind of unstoppable force, immovable object kind of energy. Molly: hmm it's a little bit what's the is it the road runner that's a really really fast one no yes road runner is avoidant Stella Esoterica: Y yes. He's avoidance. Roadrunner is definitely avoidance. Yeah. Molly: but yeah i don't know i'm definitely gonna become the queen of swords i don't know if i can fight the knight of pentacles i love the pentacles so much Stella Esoterica: It means fighting both of swords. Molly: but he's so big Stella Esoterica: you can fight a sword. Molly: But then ace of swords, what Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: would I want to fight the ace of swords? Hmm Stella Esoterica: Yeah, this does feel like you designed it specifically to confront your own conflict issues. Molly: Yeah. Stella Esoterica: You have to pick a fight. Molly: Yeah, yeah, you have to pick a fight with somebody. I can't see a... I understand your reasoning for the Night of Pentacles and maybe my resistance in wanting to fight him is also my resistance in what would be wanting to fight myself because I am also Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: very taurian, very slow. I'm the person that you're going to be running at in the field to be like why are you taking so long? Just get on with it. And so maybe my resistance to fighting him is because I would just be fighting myself. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: I actually don't know what I would say to pick a foot. Stella Esoterica: But I do think that's why I want to fight him. Cause I think I can be very cautious. I also have a Capricorn moon. I'm just telling my whole birth chart now. So I do think I can get really caught up in perfection planning. just covering all my bases and trying to defend against eventualities that might never occur. Like I I just Molly: Mm-hmm. Stella Esoterica: I think I there's a tension for me between caution and action and and comfort and challenge and Molly: you Stella Esoterica: I I think I think whoever people pick to fight, it will be an aspect of themselves, whether it's a conscious or an unconscious aspect, you know. Molly: of course. And then there's me thinking like, do I go about this in a more strategic way and and and forget the fighting and think of the fucking? Because Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: then like, okay, Queen of Swords would becoming her. She is she's just sat gently over there. She's not getting involved in this anymore. She's like, you two can do whatever it is that you're doing. I'm going to sit back. And then out of the Ace of Swords in the Night of Pentacles, who would I want to fuck more? probably the night of pentacles. He's taking it slow in body. He is savouring every moment. Stella Esoterica: Yeah, yeah. No, I recognize that, yeah. Molly: Is that not what we want? Someone who takes their time and he was not trying Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: to like rush. He's no night of wands. The night of wands is rushing to the finish. Night of pentacles. Stella Esoterica: No, okay, that's really compelling. Molly: It's a compelling argument. So you want Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: to both fuck and fight the knight of pentacles. I see. Stella Esoterica: Which often makes for great chemistry. Molly: Maybe we can just do both, fight afterwards. Fight before, who knows? Then the Stella Esoterica: Fight before. That's what I would recommend. Molly: image is just getting more interesting. You've run onto the field. He's put his hand on your forehead. You're running and you're like, I hate you, Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: I hate you. And as you swing, he grabs your arm and pulls you in and then... Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: You have sex in the field. That's it. When does that happen to Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Molly: you? Stella Esoterica: Yeah, I might have changed my mind actually. Molly: But I'm really interested in the fight aspect of like, so, cause I think I'm firm, like the knight of pentacles, like, body slowness. Why would I want to pick a fight with the ace of swords is my question. Cause I quite like the ace of swords. Stella Esoterica: Because it's not always simple. you do have to take feelings into account. Sometimes subjective information But does the ace of swords account for the subjective? I think it can. I don't know. Maybe I have the aces on a bit of a pedestal. Molly: Hmm. I've got it. Okay. Here's see when you have to really discover and try and find a reason to fight a card Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Yeah. Molly: you know that it's it's generally a card that you might have a good relationship with or at least put on a pedestal but so if the swords are our thinking function and the we've spoken about language and the way that queen of swords uses language the ace of swords then is kind of that moment where you're able to so it is often referred to as a moment of clarity but we could also consider it as a that moment where you're first able to articulate an experience. So it's that first sentence that you say out loud to go, actually, this is what I'm feeling, or this is how, this is what happened, this is who I am. So it's that moment where you can finally bring words to the kind of messy experience. I, in therapy, am very, very good at articulating and analyzing my experience. I'm very good at the moment that an uncomfortable feeling comes up. words come out and I'm like, this is what's happening. And my therapist, Stella Esoterica: Yeah. I can actually stay right up here. Molly: my therapist bless her. She's like, stay with the feeling, stay with the feeling. And I'm like, I think I'm doing this and it's probably my shadow and everything. Yeah, like, and Stella Esoterica: What's happening in your body right now? Molly: she's like, just stay, stay slow. At that point, I'm not, I'm not a pentacles anymore. I'm all swords. And I'm like, maybe it's because of this and maybe because of that. And she's like, just stay with the fucking feeling. So I think that would be my beef with the ace of swords is my personal relationship to that. yay. Yes. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly, you've completely convinced me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think also my beef with the ace of swords is that the minute we language an experience, we do also limit it. Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: And that like that's what you're saying, like the longer you could stay with the feeling, the experience, the sensation. The yeah. Yeah, we live in a society that prioritizes and prizes the the swords over every other function. I would say even over wands, the swords are the ones that are the conversation we were having before we started recording about rational empiricism, you know. Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: Swords are such part and parcel of that worldview. Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: So yeah, not everything can be contained. By the thinking function. Molly: Yeah. Yeah. And it's like, the thing is not the thing. Like the word is not the thing. And I've said this a lot of times, the definition of the symbol is not the symbol. Stella Esoterica: Right. Molly: When we try and define the symbol, we lose its essence, which is why we play silly podcast games like this. I think we've done it. I think we've Stella Esoterica: Yeah. I love that. Molly: done it. And we have one more game. And this is... Stella Esoterica: Amazing. Molly: This is going to be just like at the end of like a normal episode I play or I ask who would be the best lover and who would be the biggest red flag. We've got one more game and we're gonna play Tarot, would you rather? Stella Esoterica: Okay. Molly: Or Tarot, who would is basically like who would be the Okay. Stella Esoterica: Okay. Molly: So we're going to, from this game, we're going to become the queen of swords. We're going to fuck the knight of pentacles and we're gonna have a little bit of beef with the ace of swords. But I'm gonna pull two cards and I'm gonna keep pulling two cards at a time and I'm gonna ask you who would you rather and it's gonna be a very quick fire answer. You ready? Stella Esoterica: Okay, okay, I'm ready. Molly: I'm so excited for this. Ooh, don't drop the cards. Okay, who would you rather be trapped in an airport with? King of swords or six of swords? Stella Esoterica: That's a horrible choice. Definitely not the King of Swords, 'cause he would be like trying to find someone to complain to and thoug maybe he would take charge of the situation and get it handled. Get us a Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: refund. The Yeah. 'Cause the Six of Swords I feel like would just be mopey about it. Molly: But the Six of Swords also does is like the transition into Carmel Waters is the movement. Stella Esoterica: Yeah, motion. Yeah. Molly: But I think given that we were trapped in an airport and there isn't movement there, I Stella Esoterica: Exactly. That's what I'm thinking. You would really struggle with that. Molly: might be inclined to be like, I'm gonna put my headphones on and if you could do this, this would be great. Stella Esoterica: And le if you could deal with this, yeah. If you could get onto customer services and yeah. Molly: But I think that the kind of difficulty would be is if he had a very important meeting to get to and Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: he then starts taking the meeting next to you on his laptop. Stella Esoterica: I have been trapped in an airport and I have I think I have become the King of Swords. Like I think that's the energy that I embody when I am trying to get get another flight. Molly: Get shit done. Stella Esoterica: yeah. So yeah, it's gonna have to be King of Swords. Molly: swords. okay Who would you rather share a flat with? The four of cups or the fool? Stella Esoterica: the fool. We would have so many fun adventures. Molly: Would they pick up their stuff though around the house? Stella Esoterica: No, but the Four of Cups wouldn't either and they wouldn't be fun about it. Molly: True. True. Stella Esoterica: this is a choice between two different types of flaky flatmate. Molly: Both flaky, both. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: Like the four of cups is leaving dishes everywhere. Stella Esoterica: Yeah, cups. Everywhere. Molly: and cups. just cups everywhere. moping around. Stella Esoterica: There's never cups for me when I try to make tea. Yeah. Empty. Yeah. Yeah. Molly: No, you're like go to the cupboard and they're just all in their bedroom just growing well. I have a feeling that the fall would be a very like you would come home and they would have painted the house or something. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. But you also might come home and they've made a four course meal. Or you also might come home and they'd be like, I've just booked us flights to Italy. I think Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: I would enjoy that that sense of adventure in my life. And also just Molly: I said. Stella Esoterica: the way you you become the people you spend time with. you you Molly: Mmm. Stella Esoterica: develop traits through them. Yeah. Yeah. Molly: You take on the qualities. Yeah. I think, I mean, I live on my own. I'm in a one bed flat and I, in this place, will not get somebody to live with me because it's too small. And I quite like living on my own. So the idea of sharing a flat with anyone or an apartment with anyone Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: at moment is a bit like, no. Would I choose the full, from the whole tarot deck? No, but out of these two, definitely. Right. Stella Esoterica: Agreed. Agreed. Molly: Quick fire, quick fire. Who would you rather planned your birthday? Nine of Pentacles or Knight of Cubs? Stella Esoterica: Nine of Pentacles definitely throws a good party. Yeah. Molly: Mmm. Mmm. Not a cup, I think would also throw a good party. I hate him, but I do think that he'd throw a party. Stella Esoterica: I do, yeah, yeah. When you say Yeah. But I think Nine of Pentacles, she would have the best wine, the best food. She would be thoughtful about seating arrangements and stuff. She just she's living the good life. She knows how to share Molly: Hmm. Stella Esoterica: that, Molly: I think the Night of Pentacles would focus mostly, it would be a good party, but I think they would then need quite a lot of validation that it was a good party. Stella Esoterica: And also would they just invite all of the girls that they hide brushes on? when they use they Molly: just all of their previous partners. Stella Esoterica: use your event to be like, cool, there's those people here who I don't really know. But you would like to maybe sleep with some of them. Molly: Hmm. Or like, because I'm imagining that the knight of cups is planning your birthday because he fancies you and is trying to do it as a way to win your heart. That for me Stella Esoterica: Mm. Molly: is like the immediate scenario that I go to. And I imagine Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: like that nine of pentacles, I think she's just like, she's like that type of friend who's just so invested in in like, celebrating you and having a good time being in the present. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. she's literally a card of pleasure, She's she's about savouring and and taking that moment at the harvest to sit and enjoy. that's what birthdays should be to me. Molly: Hmm. Stella Esoterica: look how far I've come. Look where I was this time last year. let's Molly: Mm-hmm. Stella Esoterica: taking that moment of reflection. And she would do that really well. Molly: Yeah. I don't think she, she, she wouldn't be wanting, like she would of course, you know, hope that you had a good time, but I think that she would kind of sit back and bask and watch you have a good time. Whereas the night of cups would be next to you being like, this is good, isn't it? Isn't it good? Aren't you enjoying yourself? Please tell me you're enjoying yourself. And she'd like, get away. Let me enjoy my party. Let me enjoy Stella Esoterica: Yeah. That's awful. Awful. Molly: my party with these women that I actually don't even know. Right. Who would you rather give your unlocked phone to for 24 hours? So you are giving your phone, unlocked, so they have access to it 24 hours, Six of Pentacles or The Hanged Man. Stella Esoterica: I think both would be respectful. I think the hang man would just keep it in his pocket. I don't think he'd do Molly: She's like... 24 hours later you'll like, I had your phone? Sorry, I've just been hanging from a tree. There's Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I've just been meditating. So Yeah. Molly: one app on that phone, the Calm app, I really enjoyed that. Molly: So I checked your Barclays, checked your Nut West, checked your Monzo. It wasn't good. It wasn't good. I've bought some things off Vita for you. Stella Esoterica: More a good. I can recommend I can recommend some budgeting apps for you. I downloaded them. It's up to you whether or not you take them. Molly: Yeah, I've already entered all your details. Why would you not let Stella Esoterica: Like that. Molly: the five choose your tattoo? Stella Esoterica: the five would choose a tattoo. Molly: Do you not think? Stella Esoterica: No, I think they would be those can get infected, they're really dangerous, and Molly: Okay. Stella Esoterica: you sh and also that'll be on you forever. And what if you regret it? And yeah. Yeah. I might just get the ace Molly: They which in some ways. Stella Esoterica: of pentacles tattooed on to be honest with you. Molly: What do you think the ace of pentacles would choose for you? Stella Esoterica: possibly the Ace of Pentacles. I actually think it would be very cool to have all the Aces tattooed on me. I'm a big fan of the Aces. I don't know if that's been clear. I do. Yeah. Molly: So the Ace of Pentacles is like, you love the aces. You love the aces and the fall, the beginning. So you're imagining that the Ace of Pentacles is like, so I've got an idea. If you could just get me tattooed on you, my face on you, that would be great. Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm thinking the greatest gift from the divine is me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Molly: is me? I think it might be me. So maybe you should get me tattooed on you. I'm kind of tempted for the five. Just for the chaos. Stella Esoterica: Well what would they pay? Molly: What would they pick? I feel like the five of pentacles is... I think, I mean like three of swords kind of gives like the moody teenage... feeling that I had when I had one of them long fringes and wore eyeliner. The five of pentacles also does give me a little bit of that of just kind of this walking alone in a forest with like headphones in like everything feels a little bit bleak and I feel like that might create a good tattoo. It might be some lyrics from a very sad song. Stella Esoterica: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Molly: or or it might be the key. they might be like tattoo the key. you know Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: then you can go ahead and look at the traditional symbolism and look at the keywords and kind of maybe allow that to inform your decision further. But actually, like if I presented you with these two cards and asked who would you let choose your tattoo, I mean, you're probably, you are probably going to agree with all of them and not go with my act of chaos. But the images speak so much and I think because they're such quick questions and silly questions as well Stella Esoterica: Yeah. Molly: they allow for a little bit more fun which of course is the entire point of this podcast is that we take the tarot seriously but we don't take ourselves too seriously and we can have fun and play and be irreverent with the tarot and still find deeper meaning so I am So glad that you came back for a second date with me to play some fun tarot games.
