Speaker 2: the Book of Acts, we see the first sign of persecution.

Speaker 2: We saw a great and powerful miracle. We saw the

Speaker 2: power of the Holy Spirit fall on the apostles. Now

Speaker 2: you got to take the Book of Acts. You got

Speaker 2: to look through the proper lens. Now the way that

Speaker 2: you need to look at it is this book follows

Speaker 2: after the Four Gospels, and then the four Gospels. We

Speaker 2: saw how the disciples acted and behaved. You saw how

Speaker 2: cowardly they were. They were hiding behind doors, hiding from

Speaker 2: the Jews. They were locking the doors behind them. And

Speaker 2: also Peter denies the Lord three times, and he was

Speaker 2: afraid of a servant girl. But now the Book of Acts,

Speaker 2: we see a totally different group of people. You see

Speaker 2: them now empowered by the Holy Spirit. And this should

Speaker 2: be us. Our story should be the same. You should say, Okay,

Speaker 2: this is me before the Holy Spirit. This is me

Speaker 2: now transformed and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. You

Speaker 2: should have the same exact story. So now persecution is

Speaker 2: rising up, and let's see exactly how they handled it.

Speaker 2: And twenty three, it says, and being let go, well,

Speaker 2: let's back up. So they persecuted them, They warned them,

Speaker 2: they arrested them, and they told them not to speak

Speaker 2: in the name of Jesus. They tried to atimidate the apostles,

Speaker 2: but they could not deny the miracle because the man

Speaker 2: was over forty years old, so there was nothing they

Speaker 2: could say or do to deny that a miracle had happened.

Speaker 2: So as they warned them and persecuted them in verse

Speaker 2: twenty three, and being let go, they went to their

Speaker 2: own companies and reported all that the chief priests and

Speaker 2: elders had said to them. Now, let's stop right there now,

Speaker 2: They could have went hiding, they could have ran, or

Speaker 2: they could have been defensive. Right, But they went to

Speaker 2: their own fellowship. They went to their own group and

Speaker 2: they deprieveed, they debriefed, and they processed the situation together.

Speaker 2: This is why it's good to be in fellowship. You

Speaker 2: need that support group. Right, They returned to their own community.

Speaker 2: Now that was the first place. We need to take

Speaker 2: our wounds and our winds. Right, we need to go

Speaker 2: to our community. That's what we're doing. We're building that

Speaker 2: without the church. Now, yeah, there's good churches out there,

Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit to send you to a good and

Speaker 2: faithful church, right, don't isolate with your story. You need

Speaker 2: to bring it to those who will pray and praise

Speaker 2: with you. We need to be able to testify all

Speaker 2: the good works that the Lord has done and is

Speaker 2: doing Amen I Verse twenty four. So when they heard that,

Speaker 2: they raised their voice to God with one accord and said, Lord,

Speaker 2: mouth of your servant David, said, why did the nations

Speaker 2: rage and the people plot vain things? The kings of

Speaker 2: the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered

Speaker 2: together against the Lord and against his Christ. Amen. Now

Speaker 2: this is good. I love to read the prayers in

Speaker 2: the Word of God, and I love to pray the

Speaker 2: prayers back to God and man. God loves to hear

Speaker 2: situation to the community, their immediate response was to pray.

Speaker 2: It was prayer. You can say it was a corporate prayer.

Speaker 2: It was loud, it was an emotionally charged prayer. And

Speaker 2: their prayer was with one accord. It was passionate. They

Speaker 2: go from crisis to victory through the power of prayer.

Speaker 2: Do not neglect the power of prayer. A lot of

Speaker 2: us go through stuff unnecessarily, or a lot of us

Speaker 2: are defeated quick and easy, just because we don't have

Speaker 2: a prayer life. That should be the first posture. God's

Speaker 2: people don't panic. They prayed together, Hey man, and we

Speaker 2: need this more than ever in this time that we're

Speaker 2: living in right now and this generation. Amen. And then

Speaker 2: in verse twenty five, they begin by praising and they

Speaker 2: look at the sovereignty of God. When you pray, start

Speaker 2: with truth, right, start with the foundation like they started

Speaker 2: with the fact that God is the creator and the

Speaker 2: fact that he was a creator, therefore he is in

Speaker 2: control of all situation and circumstances. They started with the

Speaker 2: fact that God created the heavens and the earth. Sometimes

Speaker 2: we have to remind ourselves who our father is. We

Speaker 2: have to remind ourselves who our daddy is. He is

Speaker 2: the creator of the universe. Amen. And it says why

Speaker 2: did the nations rage? In the people plot vain things.

Speaker 2: The kings of the earth took their stand, and the

Speaker 2: rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his Christ. Wow,

Speaker 2: this is madness, this is crazy. Do you realize this

Speaker 2: world's system, this world system is against God as in

Speaker 2: rebellion against God. Even David says, why did the nation rage?

Speaker 2: Now this quote here is taken from Psalms chapter two.

Speaker 2: Now it tells us that persecution is to be expected,

Speaker 2: is not exceptional. Scriptcher will help us interpret world events

Speaker 2: if we are faithful students. When the world rages, Guy's

Speaker 2: And there's a lot of raging going on right now

Speaker 2: in the world. Verse twenty seven, for truly against your

Speaker 2: Holy Servant Jesus, whom you anointed both herod and conscious pilot,

Speaker 2: with the gentiles and the people of Israel were gathered together. Wow,

Speaker 2: they were all gathered together. I mean, look, this touch

Speaker 2: is on politicians, this touches on religious rulers, even the culture.

Speaker 2: All these forces inspired against our Jesus. It was a

Speaker 2: universal The opposition just cross all lines. Opposition is often

Speaker 2: coordinated across systems. But God's purposes is bigger than any coalition.

Speaker 2: God's plan, God's purpose. We are on the winning side, Amen,

Speaker 2: we are on the winning side. And verse twenty eight,

Speaker 2: to do whatever your hand in your purpose determined before

Speaker 2: to be done. Now, Lord, look on their threats and

Speaker 2: grant to your servants, which all that with all boldness,

Speaker 2: they may speak your word. Now look at this. In

Speaker 2: this prayer, they give it over to God. They're telling

Speaker 2: the Lord to look himself at their threats. They know

Speaker 2: that the battle belongs to the Lord. And instead of

Speaker 2: praying for protection, which there's nothing wrong with the praying

Speaker 2: for protection, but I would be the first to admit

Speaker 2: when our position comes against our family and our loved ones,

Speaker 2: our church, and our body, the first thing we would

Speaker 2: pray is for protection. But they prayed in verse twenty nine,

Speaker 2: and the Lord look at their threats and grant your

Speaker 2: servants that which with all boldness, they may speak your word.

Speaker 2: When opposition started to increase and crank up, they ask

Speaker 2: for more boldness, and we need to follow suit. We

Speaker 2: need boldness in these last days are in today, love it.

Speaker 2: It's not going to get easier. It's gonna get harder

Speaker 2: to keep your faith and to walk in love. And

Speaker 2: we're gonna pray for that before we end out this episode.

Speaker 2: and for more miracles, more signs, and more wonders in

Speaker 2: the name of the Servant Jesus. Now, the Gospel is

Speaker 2: speaking correct doctrine or proclaiming what the Lord has done.

Speaker 2: But what is to accompany the preaching and teaching is

Speaker 2: manifestation of miracles, signs, and wonders. We are supposed to

Speaker 2: be walking in power. As it said at the beginning

Speaker 2: of this podcast, these men were different men before the

Speaker 2: outpouring of the Holy Spirit. These men changed what happened

Speaker 2: to them. Power of the Holy Spirit fell upon their lives.

Speaker 2: And that we have access to that same power through

Speaker 2: the name of Jesus, Amen, verse thirty one. And when

Speaker 2: they had prayed, the place where they were as symbol

Speaker 2: together was shaken. How is that for a miracle? Amen,

Speaker 2: a sign in a wonder The place was shaken, and

Speaker 2: they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they

Speaker 2: spoke the Word of God with boldness. Look at how

Speaker 2: God granted this prayer. We need to add this to

Speaker 2: our prayer list. Amen, Everything they did. They did empowered

Speaker 2: by the Holy Spirit. And as I reflect and look

Speaker 2: back at my ministry and look back at my life,

Speaker 2: did I go to the Holy Spirit first to get

Speaker 2: empowered to do what God has called me to do?

Speaker 2: And I I have to say not all the time.

Speaker 2: A lot of the times I did things in my

Speaker 2: own strength and my own effort. And I've seen things

Speaker 2: done around me where people were using programs, their own strength,

Speaker 2: their own effort. A lot of failed ministry or ineffective

Speaker 2: We've done a lot of events where people didn't show up.

Speaker 2: We've done a lot of podcasts, a lot of broadcasting,

Speaker 2: a lot of things where you just don't see the

Speaker 2: numbers that you expect to see. The question is was

Speaker 2: it done in the power of the Holy Spirit? Amen? Amen,

Speaker 2: we gotta ask. We got to ask these hard questions.

Speaker 2: And I need to take this to the prayer closet. Amen,

Speaker 2: Verse thirty two. Now, the multitude of those who believed

Speaker 2: were of one heart and of one soul. Now the

Speaker 2: when persecution hit and went up to five thousand, you

Speaker 2: was his own. To look, selfishness goes out the door.

Speaker 2: But they had all things in common. It's beautiful to

Speaker 2: glimpse of heaven, look at the early Church. They loved

Speaker 2: things were in common. There was no competition, there was

Speaker 2: great power, the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of

Speaker 2: the Lord Jesus with great power. Where is that today?

Speaker 2: were possessors of lands and houses, sold them and brought

Speaker 2: the proceeds of the things that were sold.

Speaker 2: passing out toys. We give out food. Actually, I pick

Speaker 2: up food from McDonald's every week, their breakfast materials, sandwiches

Speaker 2: and stuff like that, and we're looking for places to

Speaker 2: drop them off. Like they literally give me two bags

Speaker 2: full of food, and we give some to our church.

Speaker 2: We drop some off at a men's group, Victory Outreach
