- 0:28Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:33Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:36Speaker 1: Trade Trendholm and Jerry Caldwell on Wednesday, January eighth, twenty
- 0:44Speaker 1: twenty five. Frage is still out with the flu. But
- 0:50Speaker 1: that's okay because we're not. We are a flu resistant
- 0:55Speaker 1: here inside the treehouse or the and we'll get into
- 1:02Speaker 1: that a little bit more here in just a little bit.
- 1:05Speaker 1: But I wanted to start the show today with some
- 1:08Speaker 1: really really really good news.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Excellent.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I know it's early into the new year, but
- 1:18Speaker 1: every victory we can get we need to take and
- 1:22Speaker 1: appreciate and celebrate. Congratulations everyone, We've done it. Murder hornets
- 1:31Speaker 1: have been wiped out in the United States.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Good job.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That's the wrong.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Kind of fine. Here we go. Good job everybody. Excellent,
- 1:48Speaker 2: jaxxcellent because ah h, thank you, thank you.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Not only is that good because they were scary, oh yeah,
- 2:07Speaker 3: but also good for bees. We seem to be doing
- 2:10Speaker 3: a better job of protecting.
- 2:12Speaker 1: We're taking better care of bees than ourselves. No, it
- 2:19Speaker 1: really is. It actually is good news. We have wiped
- 2:22Speaker 1: out murder hornets in the United States five years after
- 2:27Speaker 1: being spotted for the first time in Washington State near
- 2:30Speaker 1: the Canadian border. The world's largest hornet has been declared
- 2:35Speaker 1: eradicated in the United States. I still remember this five
- 2:39Speaker 1: years ago. It's not quite a Kennedy moment, but I
- 2:41Speaker 1: remember five years ago the first headline I saw that
- 2:46Speaker 1: said murder hornets infiltrate United States. I mean, I just
- 2:51Speaker 1: got a chill thinking about it, Like, my God, remember that,
- 2:53Speaker 1: that's one of the best headlines I've ever seen, because
- 2:55Speaker 1: it really made me not only want to read that story,
- 2:57Speaker 1: but I felt like I needed to. I need to
- 3:00Speaker 1: know what the hell a murder hornet is.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I just remember that that news coming out during COVID,
- 3:09Speaker 3: and it's like, well, jeez, what's next, Oh, murder hornets.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Exactly, as if things weren't as if things were not
- 3:18Speaker 1: bad enough with everything going on in the world with
- 3:21Speaker 1: COVID and masks and mandates and all these things, then
- 3:25Speaker 1: we get murder hornets to deal with that. Honestly, at
- 3:29Speaker 1: that point, that was okay, staying home murder hornets. I'm
- 3:34Speaker 1: sure there was even a conspiracy theorist who said murder
- 3:36Speaker 1: hornets aren't real. It's just to just another way for
- 3:39Speaker 1: the government to keep you in your house. At that point,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I was like, fine, they went, I'm staying in the house.
- 3:44Speaker 1: But yeah. Known for its dangerous sting and ability to
- 3:48Speaker 1: slaughter a honey beehive in a matter of hours, the
- 3:52Speaker 1: murder hornet, thank god, eradicated in the United States. The
- 3:57Speaker 1: Washington and the United States Departments of Acculture announced the eradication
- 4:02Speaker 1: last week, saying there had been no detections of murder
- 4:06Speaker 1: hornets in Washington since twenty twenty one. Why are they
- 4:10Speaker 1: just not telling us? I feel like that should have
- 4:12Speaker 1: come out before. I guess they just wanted to make sure, right. Yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 1: I got like a remission period kind of thing.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Good on them for actually taking some time and
- 4:20Speaker 3: making sure that that information was correct.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It's actually funny when you think about it, because we
- 4:27Speaker 1: were more careful about the eradication and announcement of murder
- 4:31Speaker 1: hornets than we were COVID vacsy. We're like, we got one,
- 4:35Speaker 1: We're pretty sure, it's okay, everyone'll take it. Four years later,
- 4:39Speaker 1: we've wiped out the murder hornets.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Speaking of though, four years later, have you heard the
- 4:45Speaker 3: term quademic? H?
- 4:49Speaker 2: No, what is that?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Please tell me there's not four more levels of murder hornets.
- 4:56Speaker 3: No, it's some cities are sording a quademic and uh
- 5:03Speaker 3: and some even talking about bringing back mask mandates.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It went so well the first time.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Well yeah, so let's so uh Now the quademic is flu, covid, RSV,
- 5:18Speaker 3: and neurovirus.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Uh okay, let's go through those real quick, one by one.
- 5:25Speaker 1: The first one again flu okay, know what the flu is.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Then the second one covid.
- 5:36Speaker 1: We all know what covid is. What was the third one?
- 5:40Speaker 3: R s V?
- 5:43Speaker 1: I don't know that one by the initials and the
- 5:45Speaker 1: and the last one was norovirus.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Uhh.
- 5:47Speaker 1: The nora virus is the one I know of because
- 5:49Speaker 1: that's like the cruise ship illness. That's the one that
- 5:51Speaker 1: usually leads to vomiting and diarrhea on cruise ships. What's
- 5:54Speaker 1: the what's the R s v.
- 5:57Speaker 3: U respiratory sink sink yell virus? Basically, it's uh the
- 6:06Speaker 3: crud pneumonia, It's it's a respiratory illness.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Okay, I was gonna ask is it is it the
- 6:13Speaker 1: pukes or the poops? But it's in the middle.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, the neuro virus. You're absolutely cracked. That's the
- 6:20Speaker 3: they call it the winter vomiting disease.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Just fire, fire up the uh the Game of Thrones.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Mem now winter is coming. No, I did not realize
- 6:34Speaker 1: now we have a quademic to to worry. To me
- 6:38Speaker 1: that just again scare tactics. It sounds like they're just
- 6:41Speaker 1: you know, trying to scare us all. Look, can't we
- 6:48Speaker 1: just be happy that there are no more murder hornets.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Can't we just appreciate a w instead of focusing on
- 6:55Speaker 1: the four ls we're.
- 6:56Speaker 2: About to be handed, not with a a arp around.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Doom and gloom. Okay, well go ahead, dy.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I just I mean, we look back on it now,
- 7:14Speaker 3: and I realize at the time the government was doing
- 7:19Speaker 3: the best they could and what they thought, but obviously,
- 7:23Speaker 3: in hindsight, a lot of bad decisions. And I say
- 7:27Speaker 3: that because they're gonna have a hard time when the
- 7:31Speaker 3: next time something truly serious comes around in getting anyone
- 7:35Speaker 3: to lock down, wear a mask, or do anything like that.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I still remember thinking seeing people postings like, uh, oh
- 7:44Speaker 1: it was lockdown and it'll all be gone and now
- 7:49Speaker 1: it's worse. Well, the guy that's saying that is the
- 7:52Speaker 1: guy that was running all around town who didn't do lockdown.
- 7:56Speaker 1: If we all actually had stayed in our houses and stuff,
- 7:59Speaker 1: it might have been. But whatever, you can't you can't
- 8:04Speaker 1: tell us all what to do. We're all we're all rebels,
- 8:06Speaker 1: but no one, no one likes being told what to do.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Well, I think they've pretty much figured out that the
- 8:14Speaker 3: lockdowns really didn't do.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Because no one did it.
- 8:18Speaker 3: No, that's not true, because it was air.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Some people did it, but a lot of people also
- 8:24Speaker 1: didn't do it.
- 8:24Speaker 3: So but the death rates really weren't changed. I mean
- 8:29Speaker 3: it was especially in those beginning the beginning variants of COVID.
- 8:34Speaker 3: It just it was everywhere. Even people that were locked down,
- 8:38Speaker 3: they got it like it was just it seems like
- 8:44Speaker 3: some people just had a predisposition to get it. And unfortunately,
- 8:47Speaker 3: but then like the schools, kids weren't getting it the
- 8:51Speaker 3: school thing, because that really screwed up a generation that
- 8:54Speaker 3: they lost a year of schooling.
- 8:58Speaker 1: But at least they didn't get stung by any murder horne.
- 9:02Speaker 3: They might have.
- 9:04Speaker 1: You know why they didn't because they stayed therest at home.

- 9:47Speaker 1: That's Treehouse on Air at gmail dot com to advertise
- 9:51Speaker 1: right here inside the Treehouse. I'm Dan along with Trey
- 9:55Speaker 1: and Jerry. Today on Wednesday, January eighth, twenty twenty we
- 10:00Speaker 1: started out in some good news about how murder hornets
- 10:02Speaker 1: have been eradicated in the United States. There's now a
- 10:06Speaker 1: quademic that's being reported with the four illnesses that we
- 10:10Speaker 1: all have to be watching out for. And while I
- 10:13Speaker 1: started with some good news, there is a fair amount
- 10:15Speaker 1: of bad news because while the murder hornets are gone
- 10:18Speaker 1: and scary illnesses are still around that can kill us,
- 10:21Speaker 1: that's not the only thing that can kill us in
- 10:23Speaker 1: this fair world. Because recently the twenty twenty four statistics
- 10:30Speaker 1: were compiled of the deadliest animals in the world. The
- 10:36Speaker 1: deadliest animals in the world, ranked by the number of
- 10:40Speaker 1: people they kill each year. Okay, are you ready ready?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Here we go shark ten deaths per year. Ten deaths
- 10:55Speaker 1: per year via Shark. I would like to point out
- 10:58Speaker 1: that is one of the ways in which I hope
- 10:59Speaker 1: I don't I don't want to. I do not want
- 11:02Speaker 1: to get eaten. I really, I really cannot stress that enough.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It's not necessarily an illogical fear, because it is possible
- 11:09Speaker 1: I do spend some time in the ocean. I'm really
- 11:13Speaker 1: afraid of going to Africa at all because of all
- 11:16Speaker 1: the things there that want to eat me, some of
- 11:18Speaker 1: which will be on this list. I really really really
- 11:22Speaker 1: not that you guys get any say in this, but
- 11:24Speaker 1: I really really really don't want to get eaten. Okay,
- 11:27Speaker 1: if I get eaten while snorkeling, don't you dare say
- 11:31Speaker 1: at my funeral that I die doing what I love.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I do not love being eaten. I like snorkeling. But
- 11:39Speaker 1: at no time in my life did I ever think
- 11:42Speaker 1: I don't care if I die doing this. No, that's
- 11:44Speaker 1: that's I don't want to know. Are we all clear?
- 11:48Speaker 1: If I get eaten, I was unhappy about it. Okay,
- 11:52Speaker 1: So sharks are responsible for ten human deaths per year.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I keep in mind some of those aren't necessarily because
- 11:59Speaker 1: they got eaten. That's just you know, one bite and
- 12:02Speaker 1: you know blood loss. They may maybe maybe they made
- 12:05Speaker 1: it back to shore, but they still died. Also, at
- 12:09Speaker 1: ten deaths per year, wolves wolves still still making a
- 12:14Speaker 1: name for themselves, killing ten people per year.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I find that surprising.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I don't.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I don't either. I mean, if you're out in the
- 12:25Speaker 1: wilderness somewhere, I mean, it's it's not one you gotta
- 12:28Speaker 1: worry about it. It's the fifty.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Well. Also, I don't think people realize how big wolves are.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I don't. I'm with I don't.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Like wolves are more great Dane sized than so. Yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 3: and they hunt and pack. They're very smart.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Unless you're Liam Neeson. Unless you're Liam Neeson, in which
- 12:49Speaker 1: case you stand a chance you can just you know,
- 12:51Speaker 1: put some put on, strap some glass to your to
- 12:54Speaker 1: your fists and go wolf punching. You're gonna say, Kevin Costner, No,
- 13:00Speaker 1: he dances with wolves in uh. In Liam Neeson's movie,
- 13:04Speaker 1: he punches wolves. That one's called gray. They called it gray,
- 13:08Speaker 1: But had they called it punches Wolves, Oscar or wolf Puncher,
- 13:16Speaker 1: that's what it should have been called. Liam Neeson is
- 13:19Speaker 1: wolf Puncher. See Oh, I get chills. For the record,
- 13:23Speaker 1: I'm being I am being silly, but it's actually a
- 13:25Speaker 1: really good movie. It's called gray.
- 13:27Speaker 3: It's good.
- 13:29Speaker 1: One hundred deaths per year attributed to lions. Again, I
- 13:34Speaker 1: don't want to get eaten. I don't want to get
- 13:37Speaker 1: eaten by a shark. I don't want to get eaten
- 13:38Speaker 1: by wolves, and I definitely don't want to get it
- 13:40Speaker 1: eaten by by lions. Okay, lions one hundred deaths per year. Hippos.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Hippos are extremely dangerous. This is what the numbers really escalate. Again.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I don't know if you noticed, but other than the wolves,
- 13:54Speaker 1: every creature I've mentioned is in and around Africa. Hippopotamus
- 14:01Speaker 1: five hundred deaths per year. Five hundred deaths per year
- 14:05Speaker 1: via hippopotamus. Another creature on this list that is calling
- 14:11Speaker 1: Africa home crocodiles. Crocodiles, how many deaths a year do
- 14:16Speaker 1: you think crocodiles are given credit for?
- 14:21Speaker 3: I don't know, because hippos for the longest time word
- 14:24Speaker 3: number one on the list of taking Yeah, taking live
- 14:30Speaker 3: so and crocs are everywhere. So I.
- 14:38Speaker 1: One thousand, wow, one thousand, one thousand people killed per
- 14:43Speaker 1: year by crocodiles.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Wow.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I don't want to get eaten rolled right now, this
- 14:53Speaker 1: one might come as a bit of a shock, but
- 14:54Speaker 1: when you think about it, it makes sense. Twenty five
- 14:57Speaker 1: thousand people are killed every year by dogs, more than wolves,
- 15:05Speaker 1: more than hippos, more than crocodiles, more than lions, more
- 15:08Speaker 1: than sharks. The dog is extremely deadly. Twenty five thousand
- 15:12Speaker 1: humans killed per year by dog. Then there's snake. Fifty
- 15:18Speaker 1: thousand deaths per year from snakes.
- 15:25Speaker 3: That's surprising.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I was.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I'm with you, I was a little surprised by that
- 15:29Speaker 1: by that number as well. Is this worldwide? Yeah, this
- 15:33Speaker 1: is definitely worldwide. Yet No, it's what do you think
- 15:37Speaker 1: you think this is the Hill Country numbers, Jerry?
- 15:40Speaker 2: I mean, Frederick Burg's got some serious.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Serious uh, you know, lions, but yees, snake's fifty thousand
- 15:53Speaker 1: deaths per year, and then four hundred and seventy five
- 15:57Speaker 1: thousand people killed each year by this What do you
- 16:01Speaker 1: think it is mosquitoes?
- 16:08Speaker 2: No, I think that's a four higher number.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Humans, humans killing humans. Four hundred and seventy five thousand
- 16:18Speaker 1: deaths per year.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I find that hard to believe. But in the other.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Direction, yeah, that seems like a low number.
- 16:28Speaker 2: One seventy five. Wow, we've been behaving ourselves lately.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I know we're doing pretty good. Right, good job. Everybody
- 16:34Speaker 1: murder hornets and now each other. And then number one, Tray,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you were actually correct. Number one the most deaths per
- 16:42Speaker 1: year at seven hundred and twenty five thousand. The mosquito.
- 16:46Speaker 1: The mosquito, seven hundred twenty five thousand deaths per year.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I did at first think, okay, if these are the
- 16:55Speaker 1: deadliest animals on Earth killing the most people per year,
- 16:59Speaker 1: there seems to be interesting omission on this list, and
- 17:03Speaker 1: that's the house cat. Because anyone that's ever owned a
- 17:07Speaker 1: cat has has seen the look, has seen or felt
- 17:13Speaker 1: sometimes they hat that could come along with it. But
- 17:16Speaker 1: then I realized, well, that's probably just because they haven't
- 17:18Speaker 1: been caught.
- 17:20Speaker 3: That's probably why dogs numbers are so high. As the
- 17:22Speaker 3: cats are framing the dogs.
- 17:24Speaker 2: That's it.
- 17:25Speaker 1: There you go.
- 17:25Speaker 2: There is also that.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Dogs kill twenty five thousand humans per year, but really
- 17:32Speaker 1: it's more like twenty four ninety nine because the cat framed.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Keet.
- 17:40Speaker 1: That's mine.
- 17:42Speaker 5: You're in the treehouse.

- 18:30Speaker 1: very Cool. I'm Dan Longwood, Trey back here inside the
- 18:34Speaker 1: tree House. I know the Christmas holiday feels like forever ago,
- 18:39Speaker 1: but we just actually recently took down our decorations just,
- 18:43Speaker 1: you know, like a just over the weekend, so it
- 18:45Speaker 1: still feels kind of fresh. And we're still seeing some
- 18:48Speaker 1: of these Christmas stories or holiday stories come out, like
- 18:51Speaker 1: the one we did yesterday where Walmart had to apologize,
- 18:55Speaker 1: or the let It Snow sweater that depicted Santa Claus
- 18:59Speaker 1: at a table allegedly about to do three lines of cocaine,
- 19:03Speaker 1: which is a good one. There was another one that
- 19:07Speaker 1: I saw yesterday that I was intrigued by that I
- 19:11Speaker 1: wanted to share with you, Trey, and that is a
- 19:14Speaker 1: wife who buys her husband kids toys for Christmas. Last Christmas,
- 19:21Speaker 1: Kat Jones bought her husband a Neon orange and blue
- 19:25Speaker 1: Lego McLaren sports car. This had more than fourteen hundred
- 19:31Speaker 1: Lego pieces and it was exactly what he wanted. And
- 19:38Speaker 1: that's not go ahead, tray.
- 19:40Speaker 3: I mean, that's a heck of a nice wife, because
- 19:46Speaker 3: that has got to be an expensive Lego set.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Oh you know what, You're right. I didn't even think
- 19:53Speaker 1: about what that would have cost. Lego McLaren Formula one
- 19:58Speaker 1: car more than fourt teen hundred pieces. And that's what
- 20:03Speaker 1: she got him last Christmas. I'm not even sure what
- 20:05Speaker 1: she got him this Christmas. This would join many other
- 20:09Speaker 1: toys that he'd requested for Christmas over the years, from
- 20:13Speaker 1: things like remote control helicopters, Lego models of the Titanic,
- 20:19Speaker 1: also a Lego model of a pirate ship, figurines from
- 20:25Speaker 1: cult classic films like Big Trouble in Little China, which
- 20:28Speaker 1: are you surprised that I am that they have figurines
- 20:31Speaker 1: from Big Trouble in Little China. Yeah, I want a
- 20:35Speaker 1: little Jack Burton like to hang on the shelf behind me.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I'd be great and maybe him standing across from a
- 20:44Speaker 1: low pan. And it's true, I had to look that up.
- 20:49Speaker 1: They actually do have figurines like little action figures from
- 20:52Speaker 1: Big Trouble in Little China. Maybe maybe you can have
- 20:56Speaker 1: one of those. Maybe I'll get you one of those
- 20:58Speaker 1: for your next day. Along with that figuring of what's
- 21:05Speaker 1: her name from basic instinct of Sharon Stone. Sharon Stone. Yeah,
- 21:09Speaker 1: because we found out last year that they have a
- 21:11Speaker 1: figurine of Sharon Stone, not mid crossing legs, but right
- 21:15Speaker 1: before she crosses the legs. Thing that exists. I guess
- 21:19Speaker 1: they have figurines for everything, but yeah, they have figurings
- 21:21Speaker 1: from Big Trouble and Little China. This guy is also
- 21:24Speaker 1: part of a growing trend called kiddults adults kid adults
- 21:29Speaker 1: don't know how you said, basically, it's just adults that
- 21:31Speaker 1: buy kids toys. At first, I thought, oh, come on,
- 21:40Speaker 1: that's sad, dude, and started thinking about It's like, man,
- 21:42Speaker 1: that's really not that bad. I mean, lego sets and things,
- 21:45Speaker 1: those aren't to me as kid specific as other things are.
- 21:51Speaker 1: And the article I read about this, the lady talks
- 21:53Speaker 1: about how the reason why she buys all these kid
- 21:56Speaker 1: toys for her for her adult husband, especially the lego set,
- 22:00Speaker 1: is that's how he sort of decompresses and unwinds. He'll
- 22:05Speaker 1: go into his little toy room here's man cave, and
- 22:08Speaker 1: he'll work on his lego sets and just putting the
- 22:10Speaker 1: pieces on, and apparently it helps with his anxiety and
- 22:14Speaker 1: Heaven forbid. It makes him happy, and she recognizes that
- 22:17Speaker 1: and appreciates it for what it is, and the whole
- 22:20Speaker 1: family's happy because of it.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I mean, as far as advices and stuff you could have,
- 22:26Speaker 3: you know, doing legos and whatnot, is it's pretty harmless.
- 22:32Speaker 3: And I don't know if you've seen a Lego set recently,
- 22:35Speaker 3: but some of them are incredibly complex that you know,
- 22:38Speaker 3: you spend hours and hours and hours doing. So, yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 3: you're right. At first, it sounds really stupid with then like, yeah,
- 22:52Speaker 3: it could certainly be a lot worse. I mean, if
- 22:54Speaker 3: it were Barbie dolls and stuff, I think it you know,
- 22:55Speaker 3: probably look at it a different perspective.
- 22:58Speaker 1: But yeah, she might be so supportive of Yeah, look
- 23:03Speaker 1: it's it's it's lego sets for the most part. So
- 23:06Speaker 1: I mean, as long as he's not building a Lego woman,
- 23:09Speaker 1: and then you will and then she walks in on him,
- 23:12Speaker 1: Uh got it? Then thumbs up, right, Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 3: I mean you know, doing that or with a bra
- 23:22Speaker 3: around his head and some electrodes on the on the figurine.
- 23:25Speaker 1: And we've got a weird science reboot. Yeah, it did
- 23:32Speaker 1: make me. It did make me wonder though, if if
- 23:35Speaker 1: there was absolutely no judgment or better yet, if there
- 23:38Speaker 1: was no one watching, is there a toy from your
- 23:42Speaker 1: childhood that you would play with today? I know I'm
- 23:47Speaker 1: putting you on the spot here, so I'm going to
- 23:48Speaker 1: give you a moment to think about it, because after
- 23:52Speaker 1: I read this story, I started asking myself that question.
- 23:57Speaker 1: And I will admit I've I've looked around, like look
- 24:00Speaker 1: around the you know, the yard and stuff, and think, yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 1: this would be a good little this would be a
- 24:04Speaker 1: good little corner of the yard here to play with
- 24:06Speaker 1: my g I Joe.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I hate to say it. I didn't have a
- 24:14Speaker 3: lot of toys growing up, and so, uh.
- 24:19Speaker 1: So you would just want a toy, Jesus, that's sad.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I mean, probably the one toy, and especially what they
- 24:34Speaker 3: make now that if I were in a room by
- 24:37Speaker 3: myself and you know, the a lightsaber. Some of the
- 24:46Speaker 3: ones they make now are really cool. So yeah, I'll
- 24:48Speaker 3: go that that that would be the one thing if
- 24:50Speaker 3: I had a room myself and there were no cameras, ye,
- 24:56Speaker 3: just to make the noise.
- 25:01Speaker 1: On the other hand, if you could make a lego
- 25:04Speaker 1: Kelly LeBrock and then flip a.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Switch, well, Kelly LeBrock then not now.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Oh yes, Cruzo, very important distinction.
- 25:17Speaker 3: There.

- 26:08Speaker 1: Dan along with Trey inside the Treehouse on Wednesday, January eighth,
- 26:12Speaker 1: twenty twenty five.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Uh.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Just talking about the wife that bought her husband kids
- 26:18Speaker 1: toys for Christmas, or not bought, but does each year
- 26:21Speaker 1: and has for many many years, and it brings her
- 26:24Speaker 1: husband much happiness and lots of joy. Something else this
- 26:27Speaker 1: holiday season that brought a lot of people happiness and
- 26:30Speaker 1: joy was the house in Dallas in the very glitzy
- 26:35Speaker 1: and glamorous neighborhood of Preston Hollow, where it was known
- 26:40Speaker 1: as the Viral House or the Viral Christmas House. This
- 26:42Speaker 1: is the house that did go viral on social media
- 26:45Speaker 1: because of its Christmas light display. Well. Now, the follow
- 26:51Speaker 1: up story to this is everything comes with a cost, right,
- 26:57Speaker 1: So you have a house that has an ungodly amount
- 26:59Speaker 1: of lights on it, it's a display, it's a show piece.
- 27:03Speaker 1: It's a show stopper. If you didn't see it, I
- 27:07Speaker 1: mean it's massive. It's a huge mansion and it has
- 27:10Speaker 1: lights all over it. It actually is one of the
- 27:12Speaker 1: few times in real life where it put Clark where
- 27:16Speaker 1: it put Clark Griswold to shame.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and there were people were waiting hours to
- 27:25Speaker 3: drive by this damp thing.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Well, now it's time to pay the bill, because the
- 27:33Speaker 1: Dallas home with those viral Christmas lights costs Dallas tax
- 27:37Speaker 1: payers twenty five thousand dollars. I will say I was
- 27:44Speaker 1: very happy when I lived in Dallas. I'm happy that
- 27:46Speaker 1: I don't right now so I don't have to pay
- 27:48Speaker 1: any portion of that bill for it, but twenty five
- 27:54Speaker 1: thousand dollars because it took seventy one Dallas police officers
- 28:00Speaker 1: from responding to calls. The traffic actually got so bad
- 28:06Speaker 1: in the Preston Hollow neighborhood that police had to get
- 28:08Speaker 1: involved to help maintain order in safety. And despite a
- 28:13Speaker 1: code enforcement warning that the quote light glare or direct
- 28:17Speaker 1: illumination shall not cross a pop support of God, I
- 28:21Speaker 1: can talk for a living, but it just doesn't have
- 28:23Speaker 1: any evidence of it right now. Despite a code enforcement
- 28:27Speaker 1: warning that the quote light glare or direct illumination shall
- 28:30Speaker 1: not cross a property line with an intensity that creates
- 28:34Speaker 1: a nuisance. That's straight out of the HLA guide. I
- 28:37Speaker 1: guess the lights stayed on throughout the holidays. And there's
- 28:41Speaker 1: even a Dallas City Council member who wants to explore
- 28:45Speaker 1: ways to handle viral traffic jams for the future, just
- 28:48Speaker 1: in case this house does it again, or there's any
- 28:51Speaker 1: others that are showstoppers.
- 28:53Speaker 3: That's I hadn't heard that there were technically any code
- 28:57Speaker 3: violations of that house, but yeah, I'm sure, and honestly,
- 29:05Speaker 3: in that neighborhood, they can certainly afford to pay, uh
- 29:10Speaker 3: the twenty five grand mm hmm, it cost it. It
- 29:13Speaker 3: costs them far more than that just to have those
- 29:15Speaker 3: lights done.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Just send them damn bill. Yeah, they got it. Just
- 29:20Speaker 1: send them, send them the bill.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and or or you know, and next year, uh
- 29:27Speaker 3: just plan on hiring off duty DPD guys to just
- 29:30Speaker 3: do the traffic and that way you're not tying up
- 29:34Speaker 3: the nine on one system with all the calls and
- 29:36Speaker 3: everything else. Yeah, yeah, it that that area. It turned
- 29:40Speaker 3: It really did turn into a fiasco, Like you had
- 29:44Speaker 3: to avoid the major roads around the house just because
- 29:48Speaker 3: you were gonna get into a traffic jam of people
- 29:50Speaker 3: trying to turn on the street.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:52Speaker 1: The when I first saw the video of it, I
- 29:54Speaker 1: assumed wrongly that it was in the Highland Park area
- 30:00Speaker 1: of Dallas, which is its own little hamlet inside in
- 30:03Speaker 1: the middle of Dallas, which is like the uber Riche whatever,
- 30:05Speaker 1: But so is Preston Hollow. But Preston Hollow is a neighborhood,
- 30:09Speaker 1: not a separate town or city or township. It's just
- 30:12Speaker 1: a neighborhood. Highland Park University Park, which is absolutely known
- 30:18Speaker 1: for people going up and down the streets looking at
- 30:21Speaker 1: holiday light displays and things, so much so that they
- 30:24Speaker 1: even have, you know, the horse and carriages that will
- 30:27Speaker 1: take people through there. But I don't know if Preston
- 30:30Speaker 1: Hollow has that.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I don't know about. So one of the things this
- 30:35Speaker 3: year were that made it even more interesting is yes,
- 30:39Speaker 3: they have, especially Highland Park, tons of horse drawn carriages.
- 30:43Speaker 3: There's actually like you have to sign up now for
- 30:48Speaker 3: holidays to get a horse and carriage ride to see
- 30:53Speaker 3: the lights. That's how far they book up and advance.
- 30:55Speaker 3: But the other thing this year there were buses bus
- 31:00Speaker 3: tours as everything from party buses to like greyhound sized
- 31:05Speaker 3: buses doing tours. Jesus. But and yeah, that's great. That
- 31:12Speaker 3: creates its own little traffic jam. But but you're correct,
- 31:15Speaker 3: Highland Park has just less traffic when you're in Preston Hollow,
- 31:18Speaker 3: you know, Preston Road, Hillcrest. And I guess, yeah, it was.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I'm surprised more people didn't really throw a fit about
- 31:29Speaker 3: that house because if you lived right around there, that
- 31:33Speaker 3: your your life was hell for a month.
- 31:37Speaker 1: It's like when when I lived in Arlington for a while,
- 31:40Speaker 1: but the high school in Arlington did the first part
- 31:42Speaker 1: of what little college I did was in Arlington, and
- 31:44Speaker 1: what's know when I lived there. When you live in Arlington,
- 31:48Speaker 1: you have to have the baseball schedule. You have to
- 31:50Speaker 1: know like when the Rangers are in town out of town,
- 31:53Speaker 1: so you can plan accordingly. Now it's the added wrinkle
- 31:57Speaker 1: with cowboys being there. I mean, that's more obvious. It's
- 31:59Speaker 1: usually on Sunday. But that's what you have to battle
- 32:02Speaker 1: with if you live in those neighborhoods is the traffic
- 32:05Speaker 1: that comes in around the holidays season. And I've been
- 32:11Speaker 1: I've been on the side of things where I've been
- 32:13Speaker 1: on the little tour that's going around. I remember with
- 32:16Speaker 1: a previous job, we did, you know, like a I
- 32:21Speaker 1: don't know. It was like twenty people being pulled on
- 32:24Speaker 1: like a hay ride kind of a thing around one
- 32:26Speaker 1: of the fanciest parts of Dallas going like, ooh, look
- 32:29Speaker 1: at the pretty lights. Meanwhile we're all like chugging on
- 32:31Speaker 1: flasks and little airline bottles and stuff. Anyway, the point
- 32:34Speaker 1: is it's a good time, but at least that neighborhood's
- 32:37Speaker 1: used to it. When you have something like Preston Hollow
- 32:41Speaker 1: or some other town where it has out of nowhere
- 32:44Speaker 1: this mega display, Yeah, I'm with you. Try I'm surprised
- 32:47Speaker 1: that more people weren't in the neighborhood weren't more pissed
- 32:50Speaker 1: off about it.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Yeah, and especially in the park cities, and even when
- 32:56Speaker 3: that in Highland Park, in certain areas, it's almost expected
- 33:01Speaker 3: that you're going to do a big You're going to
- 33:02Speaker 3: decorate your house and everything else because it's just a
- 33:05Speaker 3: thing and people are going to drive around and look
- 33:07Speaker 3: at it.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Ooh ah, great, yeah, is that a thing?
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, uh and I honestly you do you have it?
- 33:18Speaker 3: Do you know what it probably cost them to do
- 33:20Speaker 3: the house in those lights?
- 33:22Speaker 1: I don't know, but one of the first thoughts I
- 33:24Speaker 1: had was, at least it's LEDs, so it's less than
- 33:27Speaker 1: what it would have been, say if this was thirty
- 33:29Speaker 1: years ago and it's the old C nine bulbs.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I just to do a big, one, big
- 33:37Speaker 3: tree with lights. M h. Worry you about five grand?
- 33:43Speaker 1: Yeah, well now they can add twenty five grand to
- 33:49Speaker 1: the list of whatever it actually costs.
- 33:54Speaker 6: You're the Treouse online on air. You're in the Treehouse.

- 34:44Speaker 1: along with Trey. Oh I just forgot it's time for
- 34:49Speaker 1: birthdays today is Wednesday, January eighth, twenty twenty five. Let's
- 34:57Speaker 1: celebrate with some birthdays today. We have got Zahara Jolie Pitt.
- 35:05Speaker 1: She is nineteen, although now that I think about it,
- 35:09Speaker 1: I think she might be if it was her or
- 35:11Speaker 1: one of the other Jolie Pitt kids who renounced her
- 35:15Speaker 1: pitlessness and is now just. I think this is the
- 35:20Speaker 1: girl that declared herselfself on her eighteenth birthday. I am
- 35:24Speaker 1: just Zahara Joe Lee. Apparently this has been a horrific
- 35:30Speaker 1: family situation for many, many.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Years, over a decade.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Yeah. So it was just recently announced that Brad Pitt
- 35:39Speaker 1: and Angeline Joe Lee's divorce got finalized over an eight
- 35:43Speaker 1: year period, eight years and they finally said enough, we're done.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Here's the final settlement. Blah blah blah. And I read
- 35:51Speaker 1: a couple of stories about it. It was interesting, just
- 35:52Speaker 1: because Brad Pitt's one of those guys that, on the surface,
- 35:56Speaker 1: you see everything with him and Clooney and Ocean's eleven
- 35:58Speaker 1: looks seems like a Joe real fun, good time kind
- 36:01Speaker 1: of dude. But then you read a couple of things
- 36:06Speaker 1: based on that the divorce settlement or allegations. It's like, oh,
- 36:09Speaker 1: he might be terrible. Apparently there was something on a
- 36:13Speaker 1: private jet where the family was taking and he had
- 36:16Speaker 1: gotten mega drunk and did something really really bad. I
- 36:19Speaker 1: don't even know exactly what it was, but so bad
- 36:21Speaker 1: that apparently most, if not all, their kids want nothing
- 36:24Speaker 1: to do with him.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that's one of those things that for years and
- 36:30Speaker 3: actually he's from what you read, he's generally well liked,
- 36:34Speaker 3: but he obviously is not a very good father, because yeah,
- 36:40Speaker 3: that's been going on, and allegations of abuse and everything else,
- 36:46Speaker 3: and honestly, you've never heard him really, you've never seen
- 36:50Speaker 3: a spirited defense of him, really not. I thought that
- 36:56Speaker 3: had been over and done with years ago, and then
- 36:58Speaker 3: I was shocked as well to see that it was.
- 37:01Speaker 3: It just now finalized everything.
- 37:05Speaker 1: It's interesting because with the way people get canceled these days,
- 37:08Speaker 1: left and right, I'm surprised that something more hasn't come
- 37:12Speaker 1: out of this against him, just based on, you know,
- 37:15Speaker 1: the little bits that I've read about. I have no
- 37:19Speaker 1: idea why, but I think.
- 37:21Speaker 3: I think there's some people that are too big to cancel,
- 37:25Speaker 3: and I think he might be one of them.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I think so like without without like an actual smoking
- 37:32Speaker 1: gun or something just too obvious to ignore.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Yeah, without without something just horrific. Yeah, I just I
- 37:44Speaker 3: don't know that it. I theorized that there were some
- 37:48Speaker 3: people they knew were bad people, but they were too
- 37:50Speaker 3: big that to really try and take down, and I
- 37:54Speaker 3: suspect he might be one of them. Interesting.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Well, one of their kids is nineteen, so happy Birthday
- 38:00Speaker 1: is a Hara. Noah Cyrus is twenty four. That is
- 38:04Speaker 1: Miley Cyrus's sister. She's also a singer. She has songs July,
- 38:09Speaker 1: make Me Cry, Stay Together, and Again. Other birthdays today.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Kim Jong Un, beloved leader of North Korea. He is
- 38:18Speaker 1: forty two today. Also, Rachel Nichols is forty four. She
- 38:24Speaker 1: is from She was in the Cone of the Barbarian remake.
- 38:28Speaker 1: She played Scarlet in the first Gi Joe movie. Okay,
- 38:32Speaker 1: r Kelly is fifty seven and in prison or I
- 38:35Speaker 1: hope he stays forever.
- 38:37Speaker 3: And Bob, there's someone who was not too big to
- 38:41Speaker 3: go down.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Oh no, he was ripe and deserving. And then someone
- 38:47Speaker 1: who has not been canceled. And I hope that God
- 38:49Speaker 1: he never will be. But I think at this point
- 38:50Speaker 1: he might be too old for it anyway, A legend,
- 38:54Speaker 1: a titan among humans. Bob you Banks. Bob you Banks
- 38:59Speaker 1: is eighty six years old today, and I would like
- 39:03Speaker 1: to celebrate Bob you Banks's birthday by sharing one of
- 39:07Speaker 1: my favorite clips from the Newlywed Game that he hosted
- 39:10Speaker 1: for so many beautiful years on television.
- 39:15Speaker 7: Basically more urban or rural, Kathy.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Oh, hang on, hang on, I don't know what they mean.
- 39:28Speaker 8: You know you married?
- 39:29Speaker 7: What do you think?
- 39:32Speaker 8: Heck, he's urban, he's urban? Yeah?
- 39:36Speaker 7: How long has he been that way?
- 39:39Speaker 2: Too much?
- 39:47Speaker 8: Do you think there's anything you can do about it?
- 39:49Speaker 9: He went to a doctor, did the doctor give him
- 40:03Speaker 9: anything for? He gave me something?
- 40:16Speaker 1: Oh God, Happy birthday, Bob you Banks, eighty six years
- 40:21Speaker 1: old today.
- 40:23Speaker 3: He was so good that no one when to keep
- 40:28Speaker 3: pressing something and when to back off.
- 40:30Speaker 1: But how long has he been that way? Oh?
- 40:41Speaker 3: And you can tell you because you're thinking a little
- 40:42Speaker 3: bit now and he's like, they give him anything for it?
- 40:48Speaker 1: Gave me something for that.

- 41:39Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm, we were just talking about how Bob You
- 41:44Speaker 1: Banks is eighty six years old today, the legendary host
- 41:47Speaker 1: of the Newlywed Game, and while asking the young dumb
- 41:51Speaker 1: blonde wife if her husband is urban or rural is,
- 41:58Speaker 1: without a doubt, my favorite Newlywed go clip. There is
- 42:00Speaker 1: one other one that really tugs at my heart strings,
- 42:05Speaker 1: and that's one that technically didn't air, but it did
- 42:08Speaker 1: air in a documentary. And this is one of my
- 42:12Speaker 1: other favorites from the new Lee Weed Game. Celebrating the
- 42:14Speaker 1: birthday of Bob You Banks. Here inside the Treehouse.
- 42:19Speaker 10: Girls tell me where, specifically is the weirdest place that you,
- 42:24Speaker 10: personally girls have ever gotten the urge to make whoopee.
- 42:43Speaker 8: Talking about is the weirdest location the weirdest place.
- 42:49Speaker 4: Man.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Not only is her response great, which it's bleaked there,
- 42:52Speaker 1: but she says in the ass have you have you
- 42:55Speaker 1: paid attention to the husband's face in this that he's making? Okay,
- 43:01Speaker 1: well my place again? What watch the husband's face here?
- 43:04Speaker 2: Man?
- 43:05Speaker 10: Is the weirdest place that you, personally girls have ever
- 43:10Speaker 10: gotten the urge to make?
- 43:11Speaker 2: Whoopee?
- 43:21Speaker 1: We're just like, okay, he's laughing. He's laughing.
- 43:25Speaker 8: Just location, the weirdest place.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Oh, you could tell as a happy husband.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Really, he's rolling with the he's rolling with the donkey punches.
- 43:52Speaker 7: Oh god, it's what I'm talking about, is the weirdest location?
- 44:01Speaker 1: Is he saying it's good? Is the husband saying it
- 44:03Speaker 1: is good?
- 44:04Speaker 3: It's good? I don't know. I've never really paid attention
- 44:07Speaker 3: to the husband. We need to.
- 44:09Speaker 1: We're gonna do it right here.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Listen, listen and see if you can hear what the
- 44:12Speaker 1: husband saying.
- 44:25Speaker 8: No, no, I was talking about the weirdest location, the
- 44:32Speaker 8: weirdest place.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Didn't sound like he's saying it's good. You're still unsure.
