  Hello everyone and welcome to Thursday, December 18th.

  As we continue on with our Christmas theme, today's episode is called Christmas is Not About Money.

  Something we always talk about, right? Money. The root of all evils, as I like to put it.

  Somewhere along the way, Christmas became louder than it was ever meant to be.

  Louder with advertisements, louder with expectations, louder with pressure to

  spend more, do more, and keep up with everyone else.

  And before we know it, what was meant to be a season of reflection becomes a season of stress.

  But the first Christmas was nothing like that. It didn't happen in a palace.

  It didn't involve excess of wealth. It didn't come with comfort or applause.

  It came quietly. It came humbly.

  It came through surrender.

  If you go back and look at Matthew 6, verse 21, it says, for where your treasure

  is, there your heart will be also. though.

  That verse isn't just about money. It's about priority.

  Because what we value most of all, what we value most will always shape how

  we live, how we love, and how we show up for others.

  God's greatness and God's greatest gift to the world wasn't expensive. It was priceless. He.

  And that gift was wrapped in gold. Well, gold in the symbolism,

  but it wasn't officially wrapped in gold or silver.

  It was wrapped in humility. That's probably a better way to say it.

  Wrapped in obedience. Wrapped definitely in love.

  Yes, today we often feel the pressure of how to measure Christmas by what we

  buy instead of how we give.

  We tell ourselves that things like, is that gift good enough?

  Or did I spend enough? Will this make them happy?

  But love has never been about price tags.

  Love is better measured by presence. Not presence. Presence.

  By time. By intention.

  Sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone is your full attention.

  Not your phone, not distractions, but you Sometimes the greatest gift is forgiveness

  Letting go of old hurts So peace has room to enter.

  Sometimes the greatest gift is simply showing up, even when it's inconvenient,

  even when it's uncomfortable.

  Jesus never equated love with wealth. He equated love with sacrifice.

  He taught us that generosity doesn't start in our wallets, starts in our hearts.

  And that's why Christmas isn't about what we spend.

  It's about what we surrender.

  Surrendering our pride, surrendering our need for control, surrendering the

  idea that more stuff equals more joy.

  Because the heart of Christmas isn't found in stores.

  It's found in a quiet obedience. It's found in humble love.

  It's found in our Savior who chose people over power.

  So this Christmas, don't let money define the meaning, let love do that instead,

  because we love you here at Have Faith, Let It Begin, and we're telling you

  that you're not alone, because you are a gift from God, and you matter.
