HHS Awards $383 Million for Behavioral Health | Episode 76
On September 8, 2026, HHS announced $383.4 million in grants through SAMHSA to strengthen behavioral health treatment, prevention, and crisis response. About $252 million goes to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, suicide prevention, and mobile crisis services. The rest goes to substance use treatment and prevention, child traumatic stress programs, rural EMS training, and programs that bring primary care and behavioral health together.
