- 1:29Speaker 1: but I want to do it again. Hit Boy is
- 1:32Speaker 1: on the podcast today now. He executive produced Big Seawan's album.
- 1:38Speaker 1: He also put out two albums this year, one with
- 1:44Speaker 1: Dom Kennedy in August, another album with him himself and
- 1:49Speaker 1: him the Chauncey Hollis Project. Those are both albums that
- 1:53Speaker 1: he's producing and rapping on. Then, he executive produced NASA's
- 1:57Speaker 1: King's Disease and executive produced Big Sean's Detroit two. And
- 2:03Speaker 1: coming next month, there'll be a Benny the Butcher and
- 2:06Speaker 1: hit Boy album called Burden of Proof. So I just
- 2:11Speaker 1: want to acknowledge the twenty twenty that today's guest is having.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Also shout out to Alchemists, just cause if we're shouting
- 2:20Speaker 1: out producers who have had amazing twenty twenties, I feel
- 2:23Speaker 1: like hit Boy and Alchemists are the two guys you
- 2:25Speaker 1: got to talk about. Alchemists put out a whole album
- 2:27Speaker 1: of Boldie James, whole album, McConway whole album with Freddie Gibbs. Jesus,
- 2:32Speaker 1: that motherfucker's working. Shout out to ALC, Shout out to
- 2:34Speaker 1: hit Boy, shout out to our sponsors. All Right, we

- 4:00Speaker 1: with our partners. So I appreciate that, And look, we
- 4:03Speaker 1: got a big episode today. I've known hit Boy going
- 4:07Speaker 1: on who probably eight or nine years, very close with
- 4:16Speaker 1: audio push from I E. Shout out to Price and Octane.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Those are my brothers right there. I've known them for
- 4:24Speaker 1: about ten years and I met hit Boy through them.
- 4:27Speaker 1: They were on HS eighty seven and I had a
- 4:32Speaker 1: bunch of dope days going over to hit Boy's house
- 4:36Speaker 1: in Tarzana. He had a house called the House of
- 4:39Speaker 1: hit and it was where him and everyone on his
- 4:42Speaker 1: label lived, and yeah, man, it was just real dope.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And Hit Boy's always been one of my favorite producers,
- 4:50Speaker 1: and I just feel like he hasn't got a lot
- 4:52Speaker 1: of his just do and I feel like that's starting
- 4:56Speaker 1: to change. I think that battle was against Boy. Wander
- 4:59Speaker 1: started to help that a little. But salute a hit
- 5:02Speaker 1: Boy he is on the podcast today. Again, thank you
- 5:04Speaker 1: to everybody for tuning in. I'm also curious anybody who's
- 5:08Speaker 1: listening to this tweet me or Instagram dm me and
- 5:12Speaker 1: let me know what other type of guests you'd like
- 5:14Speaker 1: to see on the podcast. We've been going heavy with
- 5:16Speaker 1: the rappers, producers, you know, all that, but I'm really
- 5:20Speaker 1: trying to switch it up. You know, we have my
- 5:21Speaker 1: boys Chappelle Lacy on the show, who's a comedian, so
- 5:23Speaker 1: we're gonna try to get some more comedians on. But yeah,
- 5:27Speaker 1: just like what kind of guests would you like to
- 5:30Speaker 1: see on the show. There's a potential Patreon that we're
- 5:34Speaker 1: working on where we're gonna do like an extra episode
- 5:37Speaker 1: every week that you can subscribe to our patreon to
- 5:41Speaker 1: listen to, and thinking about kind of leaning more in
- 5:43Speaker 1: the music industry aspect on that to where like we
- 5:46Speaker 1: talk to a lot of industry insiders, managers, just people
- 5:52Speaker 1: behind the scenes, record executives, A and rs all that
- 5:55Speaker 1: to just kind of just give people a lot of game.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So let me know what kind of content you want
- 6:02Speaker 1: us to do on the Bootleg Cab podcast. And I
- 6:03Speaker 1: think everybody who's been listening, we dropped the Dizzy Right
- 6:06Speaker 1: and Demrick episode that's out, and the week before that
- 6:10Speaker 1: we dropped the Gashy episode. If you did not listen
- 6:12Speaker 1: to that Gashy episode, it's one of my favorite interviews
- 6:14Speaker 1: I've ever done. So even if you're not a Gashy fan,
- 6:16Speaker 1: it's just a great como. Go check it out today
- 6:18Speaker 1: though it's about hit Boy. Shout out to hit Boy
- 6:21Speaker 1: man the legend himself. Let's get into this podcast. It's
- 6:23Speaker 1: out Bootleg Cab Podcast Episode number fifteen with hit Boy
- 6:27Speaker 1: Heard it out, Congratulations on it on everything, Thank you bro.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Just locked inn Man, you already know, man, I've just
- 6:35Speaker 1: been I've been seeing a lot of love, a lot
- 6:37Speaker 1: of people add me on ig add me on Twitter,
- 6:40Speaker 1: just like, Man, You're going crazy, and it's like, I
- 6:43Speaker 1: feel like I've been in this pocket. But I guess
- 6:45Speaker 1: it's just taken a minute for everything to catch up. Yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 1: it's interesting because obviously you and Sean have been working
- 6:51Speaker 1: on Detroit two for a long time, since twenty eighteen. Yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 1: I feel like you know this has been highly into
- 7:00Speaker 1: paid it House. How long ago did you and nas
- 7:04Speaker 1: decide to fully connect for King's disease. It's crazy because,
- 7:10Speaker 1: like you said, we was working on Sean album for
- 7:12Speaker 1: a minute. We was already in a groove with that.
- 7:15Speaker 1: So I was just you know, from talking to him
- 7:18Speaker 1: every day working on his records and listening to records
- 7:20Speaker 1: that wasn't mine, but that he was gonna put on
- 7:22Speaker 1: the album because I'm executive producing it. I just got
- 7:25Speaker 1: sold deep in a bag that by the time me
- 7:27Speaker 1: and nas linked was was it was only February this year.
- 7:30Speaker 1: That was six months ago. I mean, it's fucking September,
- 7:34Speaker 1: right before the pandemic, right before the pandemic. That's what's
- 7:37Speaker 1: crazy about King's disease. People think it's like, oh, they
- 7:40Speaker 1: took the COVID shit, But we could th all the
- 7:42Speaker 1: King's disease before this shit cracked up, before he was
- 7:45Speaker 1: all in the house, before all the corona all that.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So yeah, we connected in February and just did a record,
- 7:53Speaker 1: and we just kept doing songs, and before we looked up,
- 7:55Speaker 1: we had an album. And it didn't even take long
- 7:57Speaker 1: to get the base of it, like maybe a couple
- 7:59Speaker 1: of weeks. Wow. I want to dive into everything that's
- 8:04Speaker 1: going on in the last year, but I kind of
- 8:06Speaker 1: want to also touch base on. You know a lot
- 8:09Speaker 1: of people who are watching this might not know your
- 8:11Speaker 1: come up, might not know where you're from. You from
- 8:13Speaker 1: You're from Fontana, right, I'm a two ten baby. I'm
- 8:16Speaker 1: from between Pasadena and Ie. So I stayed all over
- 8:20Speaker 1: the Ie. But I stayed in Pasadena until I was thirteen. Okay,
- 8:24Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I just called myself
- 8:26Speaker 1: a two ten baby. I'm back and forth off to
- 8:27Speaker 1: two ten. Man. That's I take that. I take that
- 8:30Speaker 1: freeway every time I go back home to Phoenix, take
- 8:32Speaker 1: the two ten. But yeah, so you started getting into music.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Was it first as a producer? Was it first as
- 8:41Speaker 1: a rapper? Like? How was your introduction into the into
- 8:44Speaker 1: just just creating? Man? I was always into it. But
- 8:50Speaker 1: when I was like thirteen, I just like picked up
- 8:52Speaker 1: a pen and a pad and I was just like, man,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm about to say, but I'm
- 8:56Speaker 1: about to just try to get something out. And I
- 8:58Speaker 1: just every day I was on it, just writing. I
- 9:01Speaker 1: used to fill up notebooks just like you know, wrapping
- 9:04Speaker 1: all type of whatever, just anything I could think of.
- 9:06Speaker 1: And then I finally got to the point where I
- 9:08Speaker 1: can record. So that's when I met this kid in
- 9:11Speaker 1: rialto this nigga was making beats, recording itself acid pro
- 9:17Speaker 1: fl bro. So we was making albums and he was
- 9:21Speaker 1: doing all the beats. And then after a while I
- 9:24Speaker 1: just started messing with it playing. I was just playing
- 9:25Speaker 1: around like and I was just like this shit is
- 9:27Speaker 1: pretty fun. So I just kept going in and after
- 9:30Speaker 1: a while, like I was heavy on you know, video
- 9:32Speaker 1: games and shit, so I replaced you know, video games
- 9:36Speaker 1: with beats, and I just kept making beats every day.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I was playing basketball. I played my whole ninth grade year,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and I was was practicing for you know, my this
- 9:45Speaker 1: the next season, and Bro, over a weekend, I like
- 9:49Speaker 1: got a computer set up the fl and I went
- 9:52Speaker 1: to school the next week and I was like, yo,
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not coming back to practice, Bro, I'm
- 9:56Speaker 1: about to be on these beats. And this is two
- 9:58Speaker 1: thousand and three. So they looking at me like, get
- 10:00Speaker 1: the fuck yeah, beats. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 10:02Speaker 1: that's a one early you get a one, it's a
- 10:04Speaker 1: one in a million chance. Well that's like early free loops.
- 10:07Speaker 1: That that's around the time Ninet had probably made like
- 10:10Speaker 1: like Little Brothers started a pop man, that shit was
- 10:12Speaker 1: like FL three point five, Like it was just I
- 10:15Speaker 1: can't even remember the functionalities, but I don't think you
- 10:18Speaker 1: could do a whole lot back then, So you pretty
- 10:20Speaker 1: much replaced all of your extracurricular shit video games, sports, sports.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I'm going all in on beats, on just music. I
- 10:28Speaker 1: was making albums, I was recording, I was writing, I
- 10:31Speaker 1: was making beats just But I'm glad I stuck to
- 10:34Speaker 1: like the sonics of it early in my career, just
- 10:36Speaker 1: like because I feel like you get a longer life
- 10:38Speaker 1: when you locked in on the sonics of it, Like
- 10:40Speaker 1: being a rapper, you get a certain shelf life, so
- 10:42Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, everybody don't last forever with that.
- 10:45Speaker 1: But making beats, you could catch runs on runs like
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'm on my fucking damn their third run. I'm thirty
- 10:50Speaker 1: three years old, So it's like, you know, locking in
- 10:54Speaker 1: on the sonics also allowed me to be able to
- 10:56Speaker 1: fucking make still make my music and make the shit
- 10:59Speaker 1: harder than this ever been. Like I feel like every
- 11:01Speaker 1: song I do is just getting better and better. So
- 11:03Speaker 1: and I'm seeing people that I respect reach out like, yo,
- 11:06Speaker 1: you you're really going on this ship, Like it's not
- 11:08Speaker 1: just the beat, so it's just music at the end
- 11:11Speaker 1: of the day. It's crazy because like you said, you've
- 11:13Speaker 1: had some runs, right, Like I think we all know
- 11:16Speaker 1: your first kind of run or introduction to everybody, kind
- 11:22Speaker 1: of knowing that who hit Boy is was Watched the Throne,
- 11:26Speaker 1: that era of working with Ya and in Paris is
- 11:30Speaker 1: one of the most iconic songs. Yeah, ever like that
- 11:34Speaker 1: that way had to be like it, you know from
- 11:38Speaker 1: there you you you, You was on you know, working
- 11:41Speaker 1: with re Read and and there was rock just a
- 11:46Speaker 1: crazy run. I felt like at that time I was
- 11:51Speaker 1: real close with my dude Lifted, who did Mercy, who
- 11:54Speaker 1: was working with Kanye what? Yeah? But what because why
- 12:01Speaker 1: didn't we get more music with you and yay Man? Bro? Look,
- 12:05Speaker 1: this is the thing and that's that's why it's another
- 12:08Speaker 1: like it's another part that's you know, my story that's
- 12:10Speaker 1: disconnected because you got to think about it. Bro. I
- 12:13Speaker 1: was signed to Good Music for two years right as
- 12:16Speaker 1: a producer as a producer, and I mean I produced
- 12:21Speaker 1: you Know Wish You Would with him and Rose. I
- 12:23Speaker 1: produced Stair, flu I produced Click, I produced Christmas and Harlem.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I produced Niggas in Paris. Is that my Mortal Kombat on.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Let's turn that thing on, keep going. But so so
- 12:37Speaker 1: in Paris click, I mean, you know what I'm saying.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And it's just like that's just a two year span
- 12:41Speaker 1: and let alone like, you know, producing stuff like my
- 12:44Speaker 1: God for pushing, producing multiple songs on John Legend's album,
- 12:47Speaker 1: producing songs on Big Sean's Detroit One. I had a
- 12:50Speaker 1: I had a beat on there. So just like I
- 12:53Speaker 1: was doing it, I did a lot of show you
- 12:54Speaker 1: did do a lot. I just think that like, once
- 12:56Speaker 1: that two year span was up, it was it was
- 12:59Speaker 1: almost like that was like it with y'all working together.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I mean, you know, we both creatives, you know what
- 13:04Speaker 1: I'm saying. We both just like it was always something
- 13:08Speaker 1: but there's nothing but respect on my side, you know
- 13:11Speaker 1: as far as the creative goes. Like when you were
- 13:14Speaker 1: signed with Good, was it like do they get first
- 13:16Speaker 1: right refusal on your beats? Man? I mean they would
- 13:20Speaker 1: just take the hardest shit. So it was basically like
- 13:22Speaker 1: that anyway, right, I mean you know it's funny. Bro.
- 13:24Speaker 1: At a point I was like telling my manager like
- 13:27Speaker 1: if it's not Yay Jay or Beyonce, like don't book
- 13:30Speaker 1: no sessions like this was at for I don't know,
- 13:33Speaker 1: I can't think about how long I was on this way,
- 13:35Speaker 1: but I was on that way for a while, just
- 13:37Speaker 1: like you know, that's something that's crazy to be able
- 13:39Speaker 1: to even say. But you know, I guess this is
- 13:42Speaker 1: why people want to call it a reseurg is now,
- 13:45Speaker 1: Like it's just me spreading my sound out more and
- 13:47Speaker 1: just locking in with more people and just dial in,
- 13:50Speaker 1: dialing in on just that level. I guess now the
- 13:54Speaker 1: other waves that I was a really good, big fan
- 13:57Speaker 1: of and really close to shout out to through my
- 14:00Speaker 1: dog's audio push when you launched HS eighty seven and
- 14:05Speaker 1: really just went hard putting on your your area. Nah,
- 14:10Speaker 1: that was another thing man, Like you gotta understand, uh
- 14:13Speaker 1: fucking I caught niggas in Paris and I wasn't trying
- 14:16Speaker 1: to make a niggas in Paris. That was just the
- 14:18Speaker 1: type of music me and the homies did. Like one
- 14:20Speaker 1: of my one of my niggas, Chilly Chill, he had
- 14:22Speaker 1: a he had a song on the Niggas in Paris,
- 14:24Speaker 1: but we was about to drop that on his mixtape
- 14:26Speaker 1: right before right before done, hit me like yo, send
- 14:29Speaker 1: me the files, like that was just a beat that
- 14:31Speaker 1: I was like, whatever on, you know what I'm saying.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So it's like, like, you know, balancing that, balancing producing
- 14:39Speaker 1: for high level artists, trying to do my own shit,
- 14:42Speaker 1: trying to like, you know, produce for Audio Push, Kate
- 14:45Speaker 1: Roosevelt all the homies like that was just a lot
- 14:48Speaker 1: for a fucking twenty five year old to deal with
- 14:50Speaker 1: and not having like the proper infrastructure. So it just
- 14:53Speaker 1: was me pushing myself every day and after a while,
- 14:55Speaker 1: you just get burnt out. So you know, I just
- 14:57Speaker 1: had to really scale back and just get let me be, like,
- 14:59Speaker 1: let me go back to being hit boy, like, no expectations,
- 15:03Speaker 1: no industry as shit, Like I'm about to just make
- 15:05Speaker 1: heat and I'm feel a lock in. Is there anything
- 15:08Speaker 1: you regret about that HS eighty seven era? You guys
- 15:12Speaker 1: made some amazing music. I think a lot of it
- 15:14Speaker 1: was really slept on. I think you know, come as
- 15:17Speaker 1: you are about Audio Pushing one of my favorite tapes,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and I just felt like you guys kind of despite
- 15:22Speaker 1: even being affiliated with Interscope at the time, I felt
- 15:24Speaker 1: like they never really gave y'all like did just do
- 15:28Speaker 1: for the level of music y'all were making Was there anything?
- 15:31Speaker 1: It's just like I said, Man, I had so much
- 15:34Speaker 1: going on, trying to you know, remain hot as a producer,
- 15:37Speaker 1: you know, getting my artists ht all that shit. But
- 15:40Speaker 1: it ain't nothing I regret at all. Hell No, like
- 15:43Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, being able to put on
- 15:44Speaker 1: for the homies, get him opportunity regardless of you know
- 15:47Speaker 1: what I'm saying, how everything panned out. Everybody's still doing
- 15:50Speaker 1: their thing, like you know what I'm saying. So it's
- 15:52Speaker 1: like we all got to learn. I got to learn
- 15:54Speaker 1: on a high level, you know what I'm saying. I
- 15:56Speaker 1: caught that record Jimmy Iveen just gave me a crazy
- 15:59Speaker 1: bag and then the house hit. But then that was it,
- 16:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It wasn't like this is
- 16:04Speaker 1: how you do it. Woo woo, here's your frunning bag.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Now you figure it out exactly. So you know that's
- 16:10Speaker 1: that's that's cool. But you know that's what that was
- 16:12Speaker 1: like going to like college, like for me, you guys
- 16:15Speaker 1: had a house and Sino Tar that was cracking. It
- 16:19Speaker 1: was crazy. Everybody was in rooms working like five studios.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Everybody was pulling up working. But you know, it also
- 16:26Speaker 1: got to be too much, you know what I'm saying.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And yeah, the parties were kind of cool for shore.
- 16:31Speaker 1: The parties already cracking for show. But just yeah, bro,
- 16:36Speaker 1: like that's what led me to this point I'm at now.
- 16:38Speaker 1: You know, just I did that for years, like having
- 16:41Speaker 1: these home studios and just locking in, having people in
- 16:44Speaker 1: and out, and I feel like me going crazy now
- 16:47Speaker 1: was me like, I'm about to go work by myself.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I'm about to like just really go back to just
- 16:52Speaker 1: hit boy. And you know, I got I found a
- 16:54Speaker 1: perfect room to lock in on within the first year.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I want to gram me out that motherfucker with it.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Rest of peace in the middle. So you know, it's just,
- 17:03Speaker 1: oh no, I just went back to being me like
- 17:05Speaker 1: full blown. We also skipped over surf Club that era,
- 17:08Speaker 1: right exactly. Surf club Man, say surf club man, Surf
- 17:11Speaker 1: Club HS eighty seven, nigga, all that that's that's that's
- 17:14Speaker 1: that's long as I'm alive. That shit is alive, is repping.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'm repping like that shit ain't never going nowhere. Like
- 17:20Speaker 1: it's just you know, it's time and for everything one
- 17:22Speaker 1: hundred percent, man, all right, So let's let's fast forward now.
- 17:26Speaker 1: You know, obviously you're having an incredible twenty twenty. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: think that I've seen a lot of people each ship
- 17:35Speaker 1: during this quarantine and a lot of people thrive, and
- 17:37Speaker 1: I feel like you are thriving, my brother, Like, yeah, man,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I'm blessed for Shure man, and this is all ship
- 17:44Speaker 1: that's been in the works. Like you said, it's not
- 17:45Speaker 1: like you know, like you made a conscious effort to like,
- 17:47Speaker 1: nah that that go for Like you know what I
- 17:49Speaker 1: said earlier in the conversation, imagine if I was just
- 17:52Speaker 1: just a rapper, like I couldn't do no shows right now,
- 17:55Speaker 1: Like I'll be on a different fucking lot of depending
- 17:58Speaker 1: on those back end club bags for show. So me
- 18:02Speaker 1: being a producer ship niggas is still getting beats through
- 18:05Speaker 1: email and they still pulling up doing safe sessions and ship,
- 18:08Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, as as safe as we
- 18:09Speaker 1: can be and just you know, fucking being a producer
- 18:14Speaker 1: ship right now for Shure. Let me ask you this,
- 18:16Speaker 1: with King's disease, are you were you conscious of the
- 18:19Speaker 1: fact that people have critique NAS for having a baddier
- 18:25Speaker 1: for beats, not for show, But I mean ship that's
- 18:29Speaker 1: just people always formed narratives that that is listen, my
- 18:33Speaker 1: favorite rapper, so that my number one. That's just people talking,
- 18:37Speaker 1: just saying what they're gonna say. But at the end
- 18:39Speaker 1: of the days wrapped on some hard as still mad
- 18:42Speaker 1: and I mean no, but I do think that I
- 18:44Speaker 1: do think that there was like an error in NAS's
- 18:46Speaker 1: career where he was like definitely like maybe giving Chris
- 18:49Speaker 1: Weber a couple of beats on his album that's funny. No,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I mean you know that that's where he was at
- 18:55Speaker 1: in life. But at the end of the day, man,
- 18:56Speaker 1: like I just knew it was a job of service
- 18:59Speaker 1: like that I had to really, you know, I was
- 19:01Speaker 1: putting on for a lot of people, and I know
- 19:03Speaker 1: a lot of people wanted to hear him sound good.
- 19:06Speaker 1: So dog for real, Like I feel like it's almost
- 19:09Speaker 1: like you had a duty as like a participating in
- 19:12Speaker 1: hip hop culture to be like, yo, now we're gonna
- 19:15Speaker 1: make sure this shit is solid. I was on it
- 19:17Speaker 1: every day, man, like we you know what I'm saying,
- 19:20Speaker 1: chopping it on the phone every morning, like he giving
- 19:22Speaker 1: his thoughts on giving my thoughts, Like I'm updating songs
- 19:25Speaker 1: by the day, adding production, taking away shit, just trying
- 19:28Speaker 1: to make it sound, you know what I'm saying, as
- 19:30Speaker 1: enjoyable as possible and for it to end up being,
- 19:33Speaker 1: you know, received on this level. And I woke up
- 19:36Speaker 1: to a fucking FaceTime from Timbling the morning the album dropped,
- 19:40Speaker 1: and just the stuff he was saying. I'm like, Yo, damn,
- 19:43Speaker 1: this is really like it's touching people on that level.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. You always hope that it will,
- 19:48Speaker 1: but your people on that level to reach out and
- 19:51Speaker 1: just be like, Yo, this shit is this shit is
- 19:53Speaker 1: super hard, bro like man like, that's that's the win. Obviously,
- 19:57Speaker 1: you and I was working together at what point in
- 19:59Speaker 1: time and whose decision was it to be like, Yo,
- 20:02Speaker 1: let's let's do this whole ship together, like let's do
- 20:05Speaker 1: a whole It was pretty fast, bro like once we
- 20:08Speaker 1: because he could have been like I just tried that. Yeah,
- 20:10Speaker 1: yeah for sure with energy. The energy was just right, bro, Like,
- 20:15Speaker 1: we was making you hear the album like them joints,
- 20:18Speaker 1: A lot of them joints like the Skeletons at least,
- 20:21Speaker 1: was being made within the first few sessions Blue Bends,
- 20:24Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Fucking Cardi five saying before
- 20:28Speaker 1: Charlie was even on it. It's just like, you know,
- 20:31Speaker 1: we all we was tapping in and we felt like, Yo,
- 20:34Speaker 1: this is this shiit feels different and he just kept
- 20:36Speaker 1: saying like, Yo, I'm just keep pulling up, and he
- 20:38Speaker 1: kept pulling up. Ship. It's crazy because nas has always
- 20:43Speaker 1: people have always wanted to hear him do full projects
- 20:47Speaker 1: with producers. Specifically Premo Primo is like the one that
- 20:50Speaker 1: everyone's like, Yo, what we need That Naza Premo album.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I remember there on the cover of that Scratch magazine
- 20:55Speaker 1: back in the day and like you got it, like
- 20:59Speaker 1: you got the whole no Like project and it came
- 21:01Speaker 1: out incredible. Man, Like thank you bro. Yeah. Now, you
- 21:04Speaker 1: and Shawn's relationship obviously, you guys have been working there
- 21:07Speaker 1: like you said you were on the first Detroit. You've
- 21:10Speaker 1: been working with good music for so long, and it
- 21:14Speaker 1: seems almost like like I said, y'all been working like
- 21:17Speaker 1: you said, you've been working on Detroit too since twenty eighteen.
- 21:21Speaker 1: It just feels like he really trusts you, man, and
- 21:25Speaker 1: that's you know, It's funny because I've we've we've had
- 21:29Speaker 1: conversations and bat, I mean, obviously making an album, you're
- 21:31Speaker 1: gonna go through ups and downs, and I'm like, Nigga,
- 21:33Speaker 1: you gotta trust me, Nigga, you got every like really
- 21:36Speaker 1: going in on that fact. Then you know, he like, Nigga,
- 21:39Speaker 1: you got damn there my whole album, Nigga, I trust
- 21:41Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So it's like, I don't know,
- 21:44Speaker 1: we just developed like we always was cool. Like I said,
- 21:47Speaker 1: we did click together back in the day, did a
- 21:50Speaker 1: joint on Detroit or the first Detroit, And when we
- 21:53Speaker 1: taped back in it was at the same time when
- 21:55Speaker 1: I tap back in with Nip, we met. We we
- 21:57Speaker 1: all linked up like I've seen him walking together, fucking
- 22:00Speaker 1: chopped it with him, told him like, look, I got
- 22:02Speaker 1: ship for both of y'all. Sean pulled up. We might
- 22:06Speaker 1: have did like six seven, just scratch ideas the first
- 22:09Speaker 1: day he pulled up and I'm like, oh, yeah, this
- 22:11Speaker 1: shiit feels right. We gotta keep it going, and we
- 22:14Speaker 1: just kep locking in. Yeah, Because I also feel like
- 22:17Speaker 1: there's a lot of pressure on Sean man, Like you know,
- 22:19Speaker 1: he tried putting out some singles that that you know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: I feel like the right approach was to just drop
- 22:26Speaker 1: the album and let the people choose, but you know,
- 22:28Speaker 1: def Jam's gonna try to throw singles out there, like
- 22:31Speaker 1: he put out the Berserk record, which was fire. That
- 22:33Speaker 1: shit went gold, you know what I'm saying. That shit
- 22:34Speaker 1: was fire, But I'm saying, like, you know how these
- 22:36Speaker 1: labels are like, oh, it's not working on radio. You know,
- 22:39Speaker 1: like he's single again, was fucking fire, that's gotta be
- 22:42Speaker 1: that has like fucking that shit is huge, but it
- 22:47Speaker 1: you know, I feel like with Sean like kind of
- 22:50Speaker 1: a similar space where it's like, yo, you can't name
- 22:52Speaker 1: something Detroit too, Yeah, because people fans at least kind
- 22:58Speaker 1: of look at that as his best project for sure,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And so for him to
- 23:02Speaker 1: name that Detroit is conscious of that for sure. And
- 23:05Speaker 1: it also seemed like it might have got to him
- 23:07Speaker 1: a little there. We saw you know, artistry is a
- 23:12Speaker 1: crazy thing, man, Like it really can fuck with your
- 23:14Speaker 1: head and your emotions. So you know, but I mean
- 23:17Speaker 1: you could you can hear in the album like talking
- 23:20Speaker 1: about growth, you talking about you know, the mental things
- 23:24Speaker 1: that all the shit he's been through, and it's like
- 23:27Speaker 1: that's something that we should appreciate, man, because a lot
- 23:29Speaker 1: of people not laying that all out there like that.
- 23:31Speaker 1: A lot of people are not being transparent in their
- 23:33Speaker 1: music like that Deep Reverence. That record was obviously Seawn's
- 23:39Speaker 1: verse was recorded after Nipsey passed. Was that Was that
- 23:43Speaker 1: Nipsey verse gonna be for Sean originally? Or was it?
- 23:48Speaker 1: How did that workout? We was just cooking, you know
- 23:50Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like the same time we had did
- 23:53Speaker 1: Rights in the Middle, he pulled up we did the
- 23:57Speaker 1: first verse, and he was like, man, pull something else up,
- 24:00Speaker 1: start start going through beats. Pulled up the Deep Reverence beat,
- 24:04Speaker 1: loaded it up. He sat there, thought it out, did
- 24:06Speaker 1: the verse, and again he was like, shit, let's go
- 24:10Speaker 1: to some other ship. So we just was flipping through
- 24:12Speaker 1: ideas and that was one that just was so happened
- 24:14Speaker 1: to be sitting there on one day, me and Sean
- 24:18Speaker 1: was just having a real life conversation about a lot
- 24:20Speaker 1: of the stuff that he talked about in Deep Reverence.
- 24:23Speaker 1: And I was like, bro, you gotta put this ship
- 24:26Speaker 1: in the song. In the song, So I pulled up
- 24:29Speaker 1: the nip joint. I was like, this could be the
- 24:30Speaker 1: perfect ship for you to just spas on and he
- 24:33Speaker 1: went in. Was it hard? Because you know, there's the
- 24:36Speaker 1: interview clip at the Anery talked about wanted to work
- 24:38Speaker 1: with Sean. What's it? How hard was it to get
- 24:41Speaker 1: you know, his fan to clear to clear the verse?
- 24:44Speaker 1: Was it? I mean they showed love for show Black Sam,
- 24:47Speaker 1: like Steve, Steve O, like the whole squad. They just
- 24:51Speaker 1: made sure it was they won. It wasn't you know,
- 24:53Speaker 1: too tough. I mean, me and Nip got a Grammy together,
- 24:55Speaker 1: So it's like, that'sh It's crazy shit, no to you
- 24:57Speaker 1: know what I'm saying that I'm taking care of the
- 24:59Speaker 1: music for show. Yeah, Racks in the Middle is uh,
- 25:03Speaker 1: all time amazing record. Getting that Grammy, bro, had to
- 25:07Speaker 1: be like a bittersweet thing, you know what I'm saying,
- 25:10Speaker 1: winning that but not having it there to have it
- 25:12Speaker 1: with you. No, Yeah, that shit was. It was dope
- 25:15Speaker 1: getting the Grammy. But yeah, I mean a lot of
- 25:19Speaker 1: people ask me, like which won me more out of
- 25:22Speaker 1: like Niggas in Paris and Racks in the Middle. It's
- 25:24Speaker 1: just like, you know, they both meet a lot, but Racks,
- 25:27Speaker 1: that shit just was like unreal, bro, Like just seeing
- 25:32Speaker 1: that whole play all the way through and it actually
- 25:34Speaker 1: play out is No, it was no industry bullshit to
- 25:37Speaker 1: making a record. It wasn't no an r ass shit.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Like I put the record together. Nip was fucking with it.
- 25:44Speaker 1: He you know, it was his whole thing was like
- 25:47Speaker 1: I don't care who not fucking with the ship. I'm
- 25:49Speaker 1: making sure it come out. Like his label was like
- 25:52Speaker 1: fighting him, like yo, it's another record by another artist
- 25:55Speaker 1: coming out, you need to hold off and whoop the whooping.
- 25:57Speaker 1: He was like fuck that. He was like I went
- 25:59Speaker 1: and banged on them niggas and Nat didn't put it out.
- 26:01Speaker 1: So it's like for us to win a Grammy in
- 26:02Speaker 1: then the other record not even be mentioned. It's like, okay,
- 26:06Speaker 1: I guess I do know something. You know. No. It
- 26:08Speaker 1: was funny because I remember when Nip put the record out,
- 26:10Speaker 1: Like I was talking to him and he was just
- 26:12Speaker 1: like I was like, yo, so like it was just
- 26:15Speaker 1: like on the album and he's like, nah, just it
- 26:17Speaker 1: just feels like we like it just felt like we
- 26:19Speaker 1: need to put this out like and just see what
- 26:21Speaker 1: it does. Because one of them records definitely man, it
- 26:24Speaker 1: was it was. It was all time and man and
- 26:26Speaker 1: all god. It just was a line it was supposed
- 26:28Speaker 1: to happen. Yeah, and also a record that really helped.
- 26:31Speaker 1: You know, obviously Roddy was was doing his thing, but
- 26:33Speaker 1: really kind of helped kick off Roddy's you know commercial looks.
- 26:39Speaker 1: When we talk about your run. Benny the Butcher was
- 26:44Speaker 1: here Burden of Proof, you and him crazy, uh your
- 26:50Speaker 1: your uh just love with Griselda has been lit. You're
- 26:56Speaker 1: on Conway's album, the record he just put out with
- 26:59Speaker 1: Days Shout. But yeah, you and Benny. I remember I
- 27:03Speaker 1: was so excited to see y'all in like last year
- 27:05Speaker 1: I hit you. I was like, bro, I gotta pull
- 27:06Speaker 1: up here with y'all cooking like because because Griselle is
- 27:08Speaker 1: some of my favorite shit and you're one of my
- 27:10Speaker 1: favorite producers. And I think it's like a match that
- 27:15Speaker 1: I knew was gonna be fired. But it seemed like,
- 27:19Speaker 1: you know, wait, Griselda and hit Boy. I mean I
- 27:22Speaker 1: feel like that that was with the Not Shit too.
- 27:25Speaker 1: You know, people was like, man, I don't know what
- 27:26Speaker 1: it's about to sound like. So for me to always
- 27:30Speaker 1: have this versatile like mentality and just versatile sound and
- 27:35Speaker 1: for people to think only did club records that this
- 27:37Speaker 1: was a perfect opportunity for me to dial in with
- 27:40Speaker 1: artists who have that crowd that's going to be able
- 27:42Speaker 1: to show like damn, like it really is that, you
- 27:44Speaker 1: know what I'm saying on all levels, like you could
- 27:47Speaker 1: do an hour. I feel like any you know, anybody
- 27:50Speaker 1: can chase what's hot in the club right now. But
- 27:51Speaker 1: to make those timeless album cuts, them times records what like? Again,
- 27:57Speaker 1: I'm sure it was like you and Benny probably popping
- 28:00Speaker 1: it up, and then he comes through and then it's like, oh,
- 28:02Speaker 1: we should just do a whole project after that, y'all
- 28:04Speaker 1: saw him come to La. We had never even chopped it.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I just hite him, like, bro, if you if you
- 28:09Speaker 1: got time while you out here, just pull up. I
- 28:11Speaker 1: got some shit. He came through first record we did.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I'm like, this shit a classic, you know what I'm saying.
- 28:16Speaker 1: First song, so I'm like, we gotta keep going. Once again,
- 28:20Speaker 1: he kept pulling up. Before you know it, we had
- 28:22Speaker 1: an album do Like it's really been simple math, like
- 28:25Speaker 1: just having that shit on deck, having some soul. What's
- 28:28Speaker 1: having something hard? Like just having different sounds and people
- 28:31Speaker 1: they gravitating tours, you know what I'm saying. Without without
- 28:34Speaker 1: it being some water down shit, what do you think
- 28:36Speaker 1: it is about the Griselda shit, Benny Conway that the
- 28:42Speaker 1: chemistry between you guys is so natural being somebody who's
- 28:46Speaker 1: traditionally looked at us, somebody who's out at you know, Cali.
- 28:49Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. And those guys are so
- 28:52Speaker 1: extremely underground East Coast boom back shit. I mean, I
- 28:57Speaker 1: just fucked with music period, bro, you know what I'm
- 28:59Speaker 1: saying then, Like whether it's something on the radio, whether
- 29:02Speaker 1: it's something I'm hearing out on the random, Like I
- 29:05Speaker 1: just fuck with anything that feel like something and feel
- 29:07Speaker 1: you know, feel like they're doing it with intention, Like
- 29:09Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Every bar the boys is
- 29:12Speaker 1: serious about this ship. You know what I'm saying. And
- 29:14Speaker 1: you could tell and people who take the craft serious
- 29:17Speaker 1: when you when they link up, you know you're gonna
- 29:18Speaker 1: get some beautiful nine times out of ten. So I'm
- 29:21Speaker 1: taking my ship serious the whole. Grizelda day on their wave,
- 29:24Speaker 1: so you know we locked in. I know you just
- 29:28Speaker 1: put out you put out two of your projects. You
- 29:33Speaker 1: put out Something with with Dom in August also known
- 29:37Speaker 1: as and then you put out the Chauncy House Projects
- 29:40Speaker 1: project before that. You are you? Obviously I just told
- 29:46Speaker 1: you I'm like, yo, man, these projects are fucking fired.
- 29:48Speaker 1: You're looking are you? By the way, that record you
- 29:53Speaker 1: got with thirst y'all going back and forth, it was
- 29:55Speaker 1: crazy mood, chain shot. That's just crazy man and chance Port.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Are you thinking about doing a hit boy album that
- 30:05Speaker 1: is essentially maybe you participating in rapping somewhat but kind
- 30:09Speaker 1: of like a almost like some compilation ship where chronic ship,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I mean chronic ship. Yeah, I'm just I'm just working, bro.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I don't really be That's the thing. Even with these
- 30:19Speaker 1: projects I'm putting together like they so organic, and it's
- 30:22Speaker 1: just like once I get in the room and and
- 30:24Speaker 1: it's moving, like we start to form it naturally. So
- 30:27Speaker 1: I can't call what's next. But I just know like
- 30:30Speaker 1: I'm cooking up records every day, I'm making beats, I'm recording,
- 30:33Speaker 1: I'm doing all the above. So it's gonna line up eventually.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Who is there? How about this? What's the other rapper
- 30:41Speaker 1: that you have the most records in the cut with
- 30:43Speaker 1: right now? Man? I got a gang of ship with Sean,
- 30:47Speaker 1: I got a gang of ship with my nigga, te
- 30:49Speaker 1: Grizzly's Serious Man B his last his last album. You
- 30:55Speaker 1: had some ship on that. That's his best that's his
- 30:57Speaker 1: best body of work. You have five joints on there.
- 31:00Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. We got an album worth
- 31:01Speaker 1: the shit though, probably like two albums worth the music.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So you know, I just be taking it one day
- 31:05Speaker 1: at a time and trying to run it up with
- 31:07Speaker 1: niggas as much as I can. But t Sean Benny,
- 31:12Speaker 1: you know, like I said, I'm just locked in. Obviously,
- 31:17Speaker 1: me and Don got a hunting records. You and Dom, Yeah,
- 31:20Speaker 1: that's that's family. That was what I'm saying. Talk about
- 31:22Speaker 1: you and Don's relationship. I feel like Dom has been
- 31:26Speaker 1: I feel like he's almost made the decision to like
- 31:30Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I feel like Dom just be
- 31:32Speaker 1: staying out the way. That's Dom though, you know what
- 31:35Speaker 1: I'm saying. He one of the most cali niggas on earth,
- 31:38Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So he just he'd be
- 31:41Speaker 1: vibing just like on his own wave like and he
- 31:43Speaker 1: don't care about no extras, Like he don't care about
- 31:46Speaker 1: no industry shit. I don't care about none of that.
- 31:48Speaker 1: So you know when we linked, I mean we did
- 31:54Speaker 1: music way back, like from the West Side. Would love
- 31:56Speaker 1: the first one and all that, so for us to link,
- 32:02Speaker 1: like we linked like twenty sixteen before we put out
- 32:04Speaker 1: the first half a mill and we just like was
- 32:07Speaker 1: on a similar wave like as far as how we thought,
- 32:10Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, like, and that bled into
- 32:12Speaker 1: the music. That's why people hear our shitn't be like
- 32:14Speaker 1: damn y'all meshed well, I wouldn't think, but like we
- 32:16Speaker 1: think similar to like as far as like just being
- 32:19Speaker 1: laid back, not really giving the fuck about the extra
- 32:22Speaker 1: and so you know, once we start locking in this
- 32:25Speaker 1: half a meal shit, that put me in perspective like, okay,
- 32:28Speaker 1: like this is how you make a project that you
- 32:30Speaker 1: know feel like uh, just like a moment, like something
- 32:34Speaker 1: that people could fuck with. And that's something that always
- 32:36Speaker 1: admired about his own shit, Like when he put out
- 32:38Speaker 1: an album, it feel like from the art work to
- 32:40Speaker 1: the merch he doing, like the music, it just feel real,
- 32:44Speaker 1: Dom Kennedy, you know what I'm saying, So from me
- 32:46Speaker 1: to lock in with all these other artists now, like
- 32:48Speaker 1: I'm just taking a lot of the stuff from you know,
- 32:52Speaker 1: doing the half meal albums and applying it to what
- 32:54Speaker 1: I'm doing. Now, give me what's like your top two
- 32:59Speaker 1: or three studios sessions ever, just just obviously, you know,
- 33:04Speaker 1: I'm sure Racks in the Middle has gotta be up there,
- 33:05Speaker 1: but like in general, like you've had some insane situation.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I mean, you just said I told my manager if
- 33:12Speaker 1: it ain't Jay, Kanye or ye, Like, I mean, obviously
- 33:16Speaker 1: making Racks in Middle, that whole process was just fired
- 33:19Speaker 1: from the time we started it till we got it
- 33:21Speaker 1: mixed and put it out like that. Shit was just
- 33:24Speaker 1: a moment. But going back, like when I first met Hole,
- 33:28Speaker 1: that shit was crazy. What what session was that for?
- 33:31Speaker 1: That was a wash the Throne session. And I had
- 33:34Speaker 1: been you know, we was working out of the hotel
- 33:36Speaker 1: in New York, the Mercery Hotel. Yeah, so I had
- 33:40Speaker 1: been up there a few days and I'm like, damn,
- 33:42Speaker 1: it's whole gonna come through. I'm just fucking with Kanye
- 33:44Speaker 1: every day. We making beasts together, he recording all my ship.
- 33:47Speaker 1: We just cooking. We was working on John Legend stuff.
- 33:50Speaker 1: We were just literally just cooking. A few days into
- 33:53Speaker 1: me being there, mind you, was like a snowstorm and
- 33:57Speaker 1: shit cold as hill. So I walked out to like
- 34:00Speaker 1: walk down the block, mind you on freezing to get
- 34:02Speaker 1: down there. As soon as I get there, I get
- 34:04Speaker 1: an email from Yah like Yo, you gotta come back
- 34:06Speaker 1: to the studio. So like fucking walk back to the
- 34:09Speaker 1: to the spot and I walk in and Hope is
- 34:12Speaker 1: just you know what I'm saying, sitting right there, and
- 34:14Speaker 1: he was just cool as hell, like you know what
- 34:16Speaker 1: I'm saying. I thought. I thought like I had heard
- 34:18Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying, Like, bro, it was like, oh,
- 34:20Speaker 1: some like mean type shit, you know what I'm saying.
- 34:23Speaker 1: So for him to be so cool, that shit was
- 34:26Speaker 1: just flying man, like damn, like you know. And then
- 34:29Speaker 1: we made Niggas in Paris. It's just like you can't
- 34:31Speaker 1: even fucking write that. That's crazy. Hey, how many records? Uh?
- 34:38Speaker 1: Never that we never heard because there was this rumored
- 34:42Speaker 1: sequel to the Good Music album that was supposed to
- 34:46Speaker 1: come out. I heard one song called trash Bags that
- 34:49Speaker 1: Lifted played me. Uh that was like almost like a
- 34:53Speaker 1: Mercy part too. But I'm sure there was so much.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I feel like I do remember that trash Bags. Yeah,
- 34:57Speaker 1: they had the whole lineup, they put everybody on it.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I remember Pushing Push a T had a line it
- 35:02Speaker 1: was like body bags. I need my Money and Body
- 35:04Speaker 1: bab was crazy. But nonetheless, how many records did did
- 35:08Speaker 1: you guys, Like did you have that were supposed to
- 35:10Speaker 1: come out that ended up not ever? No, that's the thing, bro,
- 35:13Speaker 1: Even with the whole Watch the Thrown Ship, we had
- 35:19Speaker 1: made other records in person, like you know what I'm saying,
- 35:21Speaker 1: Like Niggas in Paris was a beat I just emailed.
- 35:24Speaker 1: The records we was making while we was in the
- 35:26Speaker 1: studio was totally different. They didn't even see the light
- 35:30Speaker 1: of to day. They never I thought them songs was
- 35:32Speaker 1: going on wash the throne like Niggas, was hype on
- 35:34Speaker 1: them then making and this beat I just randomly email
- 35:38Speaker 1: ended up being like Damnar the biggest song on the album.
- 35:40Speaker 1: So oh no, no, no, not damn nearly the biggest
- 35:43Speaker 1: song of world. Yo. Do you remember like the first
- 35:47Speaker 1: time you saw the reaction in the club did that song? Hell? Yeah,
- 35:52Speaker 1: for sure, because the reaction in the club to that
- 35:54Speaker 1: record was like really on that. I was just hype.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I would be hyped to make a song and then
- 35:59Speaker 1: go to fucking Hog or wherever it was cracking at
- 36:02Speaker 1: the time and just watching that b That was one
- 36:04Speaker 1: of the few records we had them Graystone Nights. You
- 36:07Speaker 1: could bring that record back like eight times, back to
- 36:10Speaker 1: back to back, like now, those happened like once every
- 36:13Speaker 1: like ten years. Bro, like that record. I remember you
- 36:17Speaker 1: could play that bitch seven times in a row in
- 36:19Speaker 1: the club and at the concert. Oh they did do
- 36:22Speaker 1: it at the concert actually that like thirteen times. I know.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I saw him in Vegas and they I think they did. Yeah,
- 36:27Speaker 1: I think you were there in Vegas too. Were were
- 36:29Speaker 1: you the uh not for the Throne show? I was
- 36:32Speaker 1: there for You're in La though, I was in La Yeah, Paris,
- 36:36Speaker 1: New York. Yeah. That shit's crazy, man. I want to
- 36:41Speaker 1: get back to Detroit too. I feel like this album
- 36:46Speaker 1: is uh is in the running for Album of the
- 36:49Speaker 1: Year or it's uh cohesively just incredible. You just mentioned
- 36:57Speaker 1: that you and Sean have a lot of other ship.
- 36:59Speaker 1: What like, how hard was it picking the records and
- 37:02Speaker 1: forming the cohesiveness of what the project ended up being.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I mean that's the thing about being an executive producer
- 37:09Speaker 1: and then making records yourself. It's like, you know, you
- 37:12Speaker 1: don't want to feel like you just bigging your shit up,
- 37:14Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying all the time, Like, so
- 37:16Speaker 1: it's like I just try to try to just teeter
- 37:19Speaker 1: on the line. I'm gonna let you know, like, Nigga,
- 37:20Speaker 1: this shit hard. The motherfucker. Like the respective record like
- 37:23Speaker 1: that was earlier in the process. That was a record
- 37:26Speaker 1: that wasn't even really thought about being on the album,
- 37:28Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, and then we just started
- 37:30Speaker 1: locking in on it more so it's like it's certain.
- 37:33Speaker 1: It's just certain moments where you gotta know how to
- 37:37Speaker 1: you know, put put the bed in for your ship.
- 37:39Speaker 1: But also you know, like, Okay, this record by this
- 37:42Speaker 1: person also makes sense. So I'll just try to help
- 37:45Speaker 1: as much as I can. But Sean knew what he wanted,
- 37:47Speaker 1: he knew what he wanted it to sound like, so
- 37:49Speaker 1: he really placed everything where he needed to be. I
- 37:51Speaker 1: just was kind of like, you know, his extra ear Hey,
- 37:55Speaker 1: it came out, it came out amazing. It was it dope.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I feel like you kind of have a bucket list
- 38:01Speaker 1: of guys who wrapped over your beats. You just did
- 38:04Speaker 1: a whole fucking album with nas M and M's on
- 38:06Speaker 1: the Friday night Sidher and we did drop the world
- 38:10Speaker 1: I didn't even know, Yeah, yeah, dropped the shot out
- 38:12Speaker 1: a little Wayne ship that which album that was the
- 38:15Speaker 1: rock album? Right? Rebirth? Rebirth? That was the best song
- 38:19Speaker 1: on that album. But yeah, it's crazy because like the
- 38:24Speaker 1: bucket list the artists that you've been working with is like,
- 38:27Speaker 1: like who's left? You know what I'm saying, Like as
- 38:30Speaker 1: far as the all time greats? Whoever? Trying to lock in? Bro?
- 38:35Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like, I ain't really you know,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I can't call it man, I'll just be letting this
- 38:41Speaker 1: ship flow and just let it happen. Yeah, I mean,
- 38:44Speaker 1: you know, I wish our cast was making music again
- 38:47Speaker 1: because that would be no. You know what I do
- 38:49Speaker 1: think about that often. I'm like, Yo, if I got
- 38:51Speaker 1: you and Andre, if I got Andre to my studio, Like, well,
- 38:55Speaker 1: what could what are the possibilities that could happen? Honest
- 39:00Speaker 1: him saying no clue, But if he came, bro, it'll
- 39:03Speaker 1: be over with Yeah, that would be that'd be special.
- 39:07Speaker 1: You just tweeted something the other day, was it yesterday
- 39:11Speaker 1: about all the records that you and Travis have together? Yeah,
- 39:15Speaker 1: and like which was which? Which was everyone's favorite? You
- 39:19Speaker 1: and Travis? Uh, I'm assuming there's gonna be more music
- 39:23Speaker 1: in the future, did you guys? Originally link up in
- 39:26Speaker 1: the good music days, like back back then, because I
- 39:28Speaker 1: know he was around in that era. We linked before
- 39:32Speaker 1: he even got with or met Kanye, Like he was
- 39:35Speaker 1: fucking with kill Hoffer. Killoffer was mixing my first song
- 39:40Speaker 1: that ever dropped, which was jay z Interview, my first
- 39:43Speaker 1: rap joint, official rap joint. He came to my session
- 39:48Speaker 1: and I was just like we just chopped it. It
- 39:51Speaker 1: wasn't too much, but like when we finally linked, I
- 39:54Speaker 1: just was like, man, this kid is fucking he got it.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Like I just saw the visuals, I saw the sound
- 40:00Speaker 1: he was using, Like just the way he was approaching it.
- 40:04Speaker 1: I was like he a real artist, Like he's gonna
- 40:05Speaker 1: be straight and this ship for sure, and you know,
- 40:09Speaker 1: for him to take it to this level man, and
- 40:11Speaker 1: it's like you know we I mean, bro, you see
- 40:15Speaker 1: that lineup. You know what I'm saying. Come on, bro,
- 40:18Speaker 1: he has classics? Bro, classics? Which part of Sycamore did
- 40:23Speaker 1: you do? I did the first part before like before
- 40:26Speaker 1: it cuts into Travis's part. Okay, I was did you
- 40:30Speaker 1: ever when you when you I'm assuming you never heard
- 40:32Speaker 1: Hi's version of Sycamore until everyone else heard it. Yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 1: I don't think I still even heard it? Oh yeah,
- 40:39Speaker 1: did the Travis part man hire as a fucking go
- 40:41Speaker 1: by the way, shout out for sure? Man, you know
- 40:43Speaker 1: that's more good music. You and Travis got any others?
- 40:47Speaker 1: Any I know he's working any are you? Are you?
- 40:50Speaker 1: You know? Hey man, I'm just working. Bro't. I can't
- 40:55Speaker 1: put nothing out there, but you know, fun with Bro.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I saw how big of a deal it was for
- 41:02Speaker 1: you to have Doctor Dre shout out I on, I
- 41:07Speaker 1: shouted out the ie Doctor Dre. He shouted you out
- 41:11Speaker 1: that record? You know, like that shit just took me back, Bro.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Like I'm listening, like to listening to fucking the Chronic
- 41:17Speaker 1: when I'm twelve years old, like still living in Pasadena,
- 41:20Speaker 1: my family in the crib literally with this ship on
- 41:23Speaker 1: repeat all day. You know what I'm saying, And for
- 41:27Speaker 1: him to you know what I'm saying, lock in on
- 41:29Speaker 1: my ship and shout me out and throw some bars
- 41:32Speaker 1: on it, you know what I'm saying. On the Firm
- 41:33Speaker 1: Reunion by the way, come on dog that recorducer from
- 41:37Speaker 1: Cali young producer looking up to Dre hoppull shit. You
- 41:41Speaker 1: know that's just like movie shit? How because did nas
- 41:46Speaker 1: know he wanted to do a firm reunion record, Like,
- 41:48Speaker 1: did he come to you and say, hey, dude, I
- 41:50Speaker 1: want to get everybody back together, or did the beat
- 41:52Speaker 1: kind of speak to him in that way? Now he
- 41:54Speaker 1: had he we had the joint, he had did his part,
- 41:57Speaker 1: and I just was like, man, we should get A's
- 42:00Speaker 1: on this ship and as I told him once and
- 42:05Speaker 1: he was like, okay for show, and then we played
- 42:07Speaker 1: the song again. I was like, Yo, let's get asy
- 42:10Speaker 1: on this ship and he was like, you're serious. I'm like,
- 42:13Speaker 1: for Shure, send it to him, dude, body that ship.
- 42:17Speaker 1: And he was like, Yo, I'm about to just throw
- 42:18Speaker 1: the rest of the homies on there. And then after
- 42:20Speaker 1: that he he just I guess he linked with Dre
- 42:24Speaker 1: just like on some regular ship for them to chop it,
- 42:26Speaker 1: and he ended up playing the joint and Dre hopped
- 42:28Speaker 1: on that motherfucker right there. Yeah. Even to hear Cormega
- 42:31Speaker 1: on the song with Nas again, it's so crazy because
- 42:33Speaker 1: they had like that big falling out and Cormega is
- 42:36Speaker 1: so fire. Yeah, for sure, they all bodied man Foxy Foxy.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Of course, was there ever any attempt to try to
- 42:44Speaker 1: get Nature on the record, Not that I know of okay,
- 42:47Speaker 1: because I mean Nature's the only guy from the firm
- 42:49Speaker 1: that was missing or shout out to Nature. And then
- 42:54Speaker 1: Dre was probably the last piece I'm assuming No, yeah
- 42:56Speaker 1: he was. He was the last piece. Added that's just crazy,
- 43:00Speaker 1: like na' hit you like, Yo, Dre? What movie? Fire?
- 43:06Speaker 1: That shit? Crazy? Bro King's Disease Detroit two Kings Chauncey
- 43:11Speaker 1: Hollis Project is aka Don Kennedy also known as Fire
- 43:16Speaker 1: courtesy mil squad Man Detroit two King's Disease. Right now,
- 43:21Speaker 1: are you still technically Rock Nation? They helped me on
- 43:25Speaker 1: the management side. Okay, yeah, so on the management side.
- 43:28Speaker 1: But like when you're dropping, Like now, when I drop
- 43:30Speaker 1: my solo, shit, I just drop it independent. It's just
- 43:33Speaker 1: like you know, going through the whole label ship, Like
- 43:35Speaker 1: I'm not trying to get involved in too much of that.
- 43:37Speaker 1: I'm trying to really be able to control as much
- 43:39Speaker 1: of my ship as I can. So whenever I feel
- 43:42Speaker 1: like dropping, I could just drop. That's what I've been on.
- 43:45Speaker 1: How important has it been you talked about being a
- 43:48Speaker 1: childist where your studio is. How important has that location
- 43:52Speaker 1: been to everything that's going on right now? Because you said,
- 43:56Speaker 1: like people just pop in and it's been beautiful. Man,
- 43:58Speaker 1: shout out to the whole you know, staff, everybody, they
- 44:01Speaker 1: show love being there. I've been there two years now, bro,
- 44:05Speaker 1: and just like the amount of placements and not even
- 44:08Speaker 1: just placements, like helping people, you know, put the album together,
- 44:11Speaker 1: and just all the energy Nip coming through doing racks
- 44:15Speaker 1: and doing deep reverence and leaving that energy in there
- 44:17Speaker 1: like that shit is just it's been love. And then
- 44:20Speaker 1: people also, you know, rent the other rooms out there,
- 44:22Speaker 1: so you know, I run into people, I lock in
- 44:24Speaker 1: with people. That's just so happened to be there that day.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I saw you say that you would you said, would
- 44:30Speaker 1: you believe it if I told you I sold a
- 44:33Speaker 1: million dollars worth of beats this year, a million dollars
- 44:37Speaker 1: with the beats in twenty twenty? Come on, man, and
- 44:39Speaker 1: this is I think you might have said this prior
- 44:41Speaker 1: to King's disease and being out. I think I did, yeah,
- 44:45Speaker 1: because I feel like people aren't aren't like really hip
- 44:50Speaker 1: to how much work like you got out there, right,
- 44:52Speaker 1: That's not that's not what's going on. I mean since
- 44:55Speaker 1: I said that, damn there, maybe twenty songs didn't drop
- 44:58Speaker 1: that I'll produced so how like, okay, so how many
- 45:01Speaker 1: when you say you made a million dollars with the beats? Like,
- 45:03Speaker 1: because because we think of the old school days right
- 45:05Speaker 1: where you would hear like, we had Scott Storching here
- 45:08Speaker 1: and he said that the most he ever got for
- 45:10Speaker 1: a beat was like a quarter million dollars. Yeah, he
- 45:13Speaker 1: was like, but that was like the peak for sure.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I mean the most I ever got for one bat
- 45:18Speaker 1: was like seventy five K seven. I ain't on two
- 45:21Speaker 1: fifty shit, But what do you remember what beat it was? Yeah?
- 45:26Speaker 1: It was It wasn't even like it was like for
- 45:28Speaker 1: a fucking commercial. No. Storch said the same thing. He
- 45:31Speaker 1: said that the beat was a commercial. He was like,
- 45:33Speaker 1: it was some commercial and they paid me two fifty
- 45:35Speaker 1: and paid Tibulin two fifty. We produced the song for commercial.
- 45:38Speaker 1: I said, what, yeah, so it's for what what? What?
- 45:43Speaker 1: Damn a Gatorade commercial? That shit is crazy. Have you
- 45:47Speaker 1: ever sold somebody your beat and regretted it later? Oh?
- 45:52Speaker 1: I used to when I you know, because earlier like
- 45:56Speaker 1: that's why my value is so crazy now, because I
- 45:59Speaker 1: was trying to tap into to making like hard beats
- 46:01Speaker 1: them there every time I sit down and you know
- 46:03Speaker 1: now that I'm I'm just in that zone. Like back
- 46:07Speaker 1: in the day, it was just harder for me to
- 46:09Speaker 1: get shipped off. So Damn asked me the question, you're
- 46:13Speaker 1: cutting this up right? Okay? For no, but I was.
- 46:17Speaker 1: I was saying, have you ever sold somebody or no?
- 46:20Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, Like, that's what made me say that,
- 46:22Speaker 1: Like when I when I just you know, when I
- 46:24Speaker 1: held onto every beating that it meant everything to me
- 46:27Speaker 1: back in the day because I didn't make as many
- 46:29Speaker 1: dope ones. Yeahs. So but now it's like, man, okay,
- 46:32Speaker 1: I'll make another one, like you know, that's just how
- 46:34Speaker 1: I feel about it. Yeah, because uh, I know. I
- 46:38Speaker 1: asked Scott, I was like, did you regret giving Haul
- 46:40Speaker 1: Coogan's daughter a beat? That's hilarious? That shit is hilarious.
- 46:46Speaker 1: One of the songs that I remember when you first
- 46:48Speaker 1: played me Granted my whole life was at your house.
- 46:51Speaker 1: It was probably six months before it came out, and
- 46:53Speaker 1: I remember thinking to myself, this is the only song
- 46:55Speaker 1: I've ever heard that gave me the same chills and
- 46:59Speaker 1: vibes of of grinding from the clips, like it just
- 47:02Speaker 1: was so hard and like the whole fucking crew was
- 47:06Speaker 1: on it, My pops was on it, for your dad
- 47:09Speaker 1: was on it. That song though the G Unit version
- 47:16Speaker 1: blew up. You don't see this's the thing, right, and
- 47:20Speaker 1: I'll be thinking about this. I'm like, so instead of
- 47:23Speaker 1: just like taking a nigga style like fifty shit has
- 47:27Speaker 1: just been like hit boy, fucking make an album for
- 47:29Speaker 1: us or come work with us. But it's like, I think,
- 47:31Speaker 1: I feel like people think too small, you know what
- 47:33Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like niggas like, oh, I see they having
- 47:35Speaker 1: a wave. They got a heart beat, they got a
- 47:36Speaker 1: hard melody, idea, vocal idea. Let me just take that
- 47:39Speaker 1: and try to wave up on niggas versus being a
- 47:42Speaker 1: real one and being like I'm gonna hit this nigga
- 47:43Speaker 1: and go make some hard show. This was gonna ask
- 47:45Speaker 1: you like, did you have any sort of cause that
- 47:48Speaker 1: song was so I know that was a very important
- 47:51Speaker 1: song for your label and for your crew, for my life,
- 47:53Speaker 1: for your life. All of that video was crazy, like
- 47:57Speaker 1: did you have any sort of animosity Towards the G
- 48:00Speaker 1: UNIT version? I felt like people heard that beat and
- 48:04Speaker 1: thought it was a G UNIT song that weren't outside
- 48:07Speaker 1: of I mean being fans of what you were doing.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Like obviously you know what I'm saying, Like at the
- 48:12Speaker 1: end of the day, bro, you know, like I said, man,
- 48:15Speaker 1: I feel like they was thinking small by doing that,
- 48:17Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, because it didn't really even
- 48:18Speaker 1: lead to nothing. Like he just said the other day,
- 48:20Speaker 1: you want to forget about gun it, you know what
- 48:22Speaker 1: I'm saying, And like I put my life on the
- 48:24Speaker 1: line to make that record. Put my whole family, you
- 48:26Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Not my whole family, but all
- 48:28Speaker 1: my homies, and put my pops on it. Like that
- 48:30Speaker 1: was that was that was that was real for us,
- 48:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Like it wasn't just like,
- 48:34Speaker 1: oh it's a heart beat, We're just gonna rap on
- 48:35Speaker 1: this ship. You know what I'm saying. I feel like
- 48:37Speaker 1: that's what niggas be thinking. So it is what it is.
- 48:42Speaker 1: You know, for people who don't know you, you said,
- 48:43Speaker 1: your dad's locked up again? How's he doing everything? I
- 48:47Speaker 1: mean because you know, I always thought that was such
- 48:48Speaker 1: a beautiful thing that you had him on the whole album.
- 48:50Speaker 1: We communicate, We lock in, you know what I'm saying.
- 48:53Speaker 1: We talked every other day, and you know It's just
- 48:57Speaker 1: an unfortunate situation. But know once he back on the streets,
- 49:02Speaker 1: were right back on this ship and then with the
- 49:04Speaker 1: with the other everybody else who was a part of
- 49:06Speaker 1: the crew. Kate Roosevelt, by the way, Kate Roosevelt is
- 49:09Speaker 1: so fire my niggas fire firefire, h audio push, it's
- 49:17Speaker 1: time and dog is timing. Man. I'm just saying, like,
- 49:20Speaker 1: how's how's how is that? I mean, I I you know,
- 49:22Speaker 1: I talked to Price and and Octane a lot, But
- 49:25Speaker 1: how is everybody is everybody still you know, Kosher everything still.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Everybody's still putting their music out. Kros He's putting merch out,
- 49:32Speaker 1: putting music out. He's doing this thing audio push. They
- 49:35Speaker 1: locked in. Yeah, all the homies can't money. You know.
- 49:40Speaker 1: That's my dog. So he was on your project. Yeah,
- 49:43Speaker 1: on Chauncey all this project. So you know for sure,
- 49:49Speaker 1: any chance, let me ask you this. When you see like,
- 49:52Speaker 1: as a producer, there's very like you'll see people come
- 49:59Speaker 1: and go a lot, right, I feel like more even
- 50:02Speaker 1: maybe even more so than rappers. I don't know, There's
- 50:06Speaker 1: been a lot of rappers have coming gone in the
- 50:07Speaker 1: last five years, but producers, I feel like it's like
- 50:11Speaker 1: a year to two years, right, and then usually they're
- 50:16Speaker 1: sad because they have such a sound that they're out
- 50:20Speaker 1: of here, right, it's like that, you know, they got
- 50:24Speaker 1: a cool eighteen month run and then it's like, well,
- 50:27Speaker 1: what happened to those guys? Well, now there's the new producer.
- 50:29Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like, for sure, is that
- 50:33Speaker 1: something that you're self conscious of and aware of because
- 50:37Speaker 1: you've never had a sound per se that was like,
- 50:40Speaker 1: like you said, people would say to you like, ah,
- 50:42Speaker 1: hit boy. You know, I don't know if I want
- 50:43Speaker 1: to hear him with knas because he's just making club shit.
- 50:46Speaker 1: But like that's not the case if people really have
- 50:48Speaker 1: been paying attention to what you do. But like, are
- 50:52Speaker 1: are you an observer of the landscape of other producers
- 50:56Speaker 1: and kind of like where people fuck up? You know?
- 50:59Speaker 1: I always is, you know, and I peaped the game.
- 51:02Speaker 1: I'm a real student of this ship. I'll be watching
- 51:04Speaker 1: as much of it as I can. And I never
- 51:07Speaker 1: looked at it like it would give me longevity if
- 51:10Speaker 1: I stay versatile. I just looked at it as from
- 51:12Speaker 1: a creative pros you know, perspective, like I just want
- 51:15Speaker 1: to be you know, different every time, Like I don't
- 51:18Speaker 1: want to have a sound, but I never looked at
- 51:19Speaker 1: it like the sound burns out anyway, you know what
- 51:22Speaker 1: I'm saying. So I had moments of like I would
- 51:24Speaker 1: envy certain like you know, producers when it's like, damn,
- 51:27Speaker 1: they should connected so hard. But then I might have
- 51:29Speaker 1: had bigger records than them. But it's like it didn't
- 51:32Speaker 1: connect as much because it was no tag. You didn't
- 51:35Speaker 1: hear shit, You didn't hear certain people shouting me out
- 51:38Speaker 1: in interviews and bigging me up like that. So it
- 51:40Speaker 1: just was a more of a just real grind with
- 51:43Speaker 1: my ship. It wasn't like an autopilot type thing, you
- 51:46Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like I feel like certain like
- 51:48Speaker 1: you know, like a mustard like that shit is like
- 51:50Speaker 1: fucking autopilot, like you know what you finna get, you
- 51:53Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. As far as like when he
- 51:54Speaker 1: was on his initial run, when he was on his
- 51:56Speaker 1: West coast, you must have had to evolve, you know,
- 52:01Speaker 1: she had to and most people don't for sure. Yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 1: when Muster first came out, it was like like you said,
- 52:07Speaker 1: it was the one hundred beats per minuted, it was
- 52:10Speaker 1: you know, you knew his sound, and I got to
- 52:13Speaker 1: give it up to Muster because he he definitely modernized
- 52:16Speaker 1: it because he could have burnt out so he could
- 52:20Speaker 1: have Man and he switched up and like ship the
- 52:23Speaker 1: fact he's got Lama and you know ten Summers is
- 52:26Speaker 1: doing it man. For sure, the tech producer tag thing.
- 52:29Speaker 1: I always wondered this right because I'm like, yo, I
- 52:31Speaker 1: almost feel like because you initially didn't have a tag.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Crazy thing is on my first place being on the
- 52:37Speaker 1: j Lo album. I had a tag. I whispered hit
- 52:39Speaker 1: boy in the beginning, and then I stopped using that ship.
- 52:42Speaker 1: So yeah, but your bigger records. Initially, for sure, there
- 52:45Speaker 1: was no tag on my first beat I sold in
- 52:48Speaker 1: oh seven, Yes, but then after that no tags until
- 52:52Speaker 1: fucking damn there twenty eighteen. Hey, so your first beat
- 52:56Speaker 1: you ever saw was a Jalo record? Yeah? Did you
- 52:58Speaker 1: meet Jalo? I still never Metter to this day and
- 53:00Speaker 1: this was seven damn that's my first beat Outso that
- 53:04Speaker 1: shit is crazy. So if you see this, hogh at me, man,
- 53:07Speaker 1: say what up? Now? That I was gonna ask you
- 53:09Speaker 1: because there's other producers that don't have tags, like Louis Bell,
- 53:12Speaker 1: who does a lot of the post malone stuff, Like
- 53:14Speaker 1: what is like, do you feel like you kind of
- 53:17Speaker 1: have to have a tag nowadays? Because no, you don't
- 53:20Speaker 1: gotta have no tag. But it's just good for branding,
- 53:22Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I was trying to get
- 53:24Speaker 1: my brand up because I felt I felt like my
- 53:26Speaker 1: brand fell so far behind because of shit like that
- 53:28Speaker 1: and not connecting it all the way. So I'm like,
- 53:30Speaker 1: let me just find an easy way to just connect
- 53:33Speaker 1: my shit now. And it's working out. It is working out?
- 53:37Speaker 1: Or is it hip boy? Underbeat you Gotta Go Dessert?
- 53:39Speaker 1: That's one of them? Is it the hit boy? Both
- 53:41Speaker 1: of them? Yo? I'm looking all right, So I'm looking
- 53:45Speaker 1: at the track listing with all the producers right cooling,
- 53:49Speaker 1: Dre's on here, which is crazy. No, Id Mustard's got
- 53:54Speaker 1: something on here. These records that that are you're co
- 54:02Speaker 1: producing with, right, Let's say like a record like, by
- 54:07Speaker 1: the way, the Wolve song is crazy. I don't think
- 54:09Speaker 1: you produced that shit, shut Out day Trip. That shit
- 54:11Speaker 1: is crazy. But like what is the being an executive producer?
- 54:16Speaker 1: I don't think people understand what that means anymore. Yeah,
- 54:19Speaker 1: you know what I say, Like I said earlier, in
- 54:20Speaker 1: the conversation, man, just having them, you know, difficult conversations
- 54:25Speaker 1: and trying to, you know, just give my opinion on
- 54:27Speaker 1: as much as I can without being biased or without
- 54:30Speaker 1: being emotional about it, without being selfish about you know,
- 54:33Speaker 1: how many songs I got on it. I'm just like,
- 54:36Speaker 1: I just want to give my opinion to where this
- 54:37Speaker 1: could be the best possible, you know project. Because Sean
- 54:40Speaker 1: he was he was zoned in, he was focused, you
- 54:43Speaker 1: know what he wanted. So I just was like, they're
- 54:45Speaker 1: trying to be a second ear and add as much,
- 54:47Speaker 1: you know, as information as I could for sure. What
- 54:52Speaker 1: do you see the rest of the year looking like?
- 54:54Speaker 1: After after Benning the Butcher? Shit? Man, ain't no telling, bro,
- 54:58Speaker 1: you know telling, I got more sessions is lined up,
- 55:00Speaker 1: you know, some R and B stuff, some pop stuff.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Who do you want to work with? Bro? Whoever want
- 55:06Speaker 1: to work with me? Shit? And who are really serious
- 55:08Speaker 1: about making music? But I'm saying, like, who do you
- 55:10Speaker 1: want to work with? Like? Who are you a fan
- 55:12Speaker 1: of that you haven't worked with yet? Man, I can't
- 55:16Speaker 1: call it, I mean shit, bro, Like fucking I want
- 55:18Speaker 1: to do an album for Kendrick Lamar. You know what
- 55:20Speaker 1: I'm saying, I want to do an album for fucking
- 55:22Speaker 1: jay Z. I want to do an album for plenty
- 55:24Speaker 1: of people. But it's like, you know, I already work
- 55:26Speaker 1: with these people too, But if I can get an
- 55:28Speaker 1: album with Kendrick, I get an album with jay Z,
- 55:30Speaker 1: like you know, that'd be lovely or even evendo. I
- 55:32Speaker 1: know Kendrick, when you're shooting music video, I've seen that.
- 55:35Speaker 1: I know about. You know, he about to melt the
- 55:38Speaker 1: whole games. He about to go on one of them
- 55:41Speaker 1: them twelve month runs and then just disappear for three more.
- 55:45Speaker 1: What about some pop shit like I think, like I
- 55:47Speaker 1: feel like you in post would make some fire ship
- 55:49Speaker 1: like for sure, Like I said, man, whoever opened and
- 55:52Speaker 1: work really serious about music? Man, it's lit hit boy
- 55:58Speaker 1: like keV you already know, go get a everything. This
- 56:00Speaker 1: guy's working on really Detroit to aka Chauncey Hollis Project.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Chauncey Hollis Project is fucking fire. I appreciate the fact
- 56:11Speaker 1: that you are still on your wrapping ship man, Yeah,
- 56:15Speaker 1: because you can wrap your ass off, and I feel
- 56:18Speaker 1: like you're improving. Man, I am bro. Every beat I
- 56:21Speaker 1: do get better, every wrap I do get better. That's
- 56:23Speaker 1: my whole You're the only I always tell this to everybody,
- 56:25Speaker 1: because you mean, you could go into any studio session
- 56:28Speaker 1: with a producer, no matter who the fuck it is,
- 56:30Speaker 1: and p be playing beats and there's gonna be a
- 56:32Speaker 1: few that you're just like I feeling, bro I've never
- 56:36Speaker 1: been in the session with you, dog. You ain't never
- 56:38Speaker 1: played no whack shit. Ever, it's all like this, Look like,
- 56:45Speaker 1: appreciate it. This ship is crazy. Boom. Well, look shout
