SPEAKER_02: Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Sips.

SPEAKER_02: Today we are going to talk about reunion, season one of the one, episode four, 1989.
• 0:22
SPEAKER_02: I am Lisa and I am sipping on a casual white wine today, because you know, changing it up.
• 0:30
SPEAKER_02: And you know we come from broke ass families because I'm drinking out of a jar.
• 0:35
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 0:36
SPEAKER_00: So to your defense, drink drinking out of a jar is now trendy.
• 0:43
SPEAKER_02: Well, I think it's only trendy if they're like mason jars and not jelly jars.
• 0:51
  SPEAKER_00: Same thing, baby.
• 0:52
  SPEAKER_00: Same thing.
• 0:53
SPEAKER_02: This is probably once grape jelly or something.
• 0:56
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 0:57
  SPEAKER_02: Maybe pickles?
• 0:58
SPEAKER_02: No, it's not wide enough to be a pickle jar.
• 1:01
  SPEAKER_00: It's still trendy.
• 1:02
  SPEAKER_00: It's the new trendy.
• 1:03
  SPEAKER_00: Sure.
• 1:03
  SPEAKER_00: It's a Gin X trendy.
• 1:06
SPEAKER_02: But remember, remember back in the day that the little jelly jars that they used to have the the oh, what was the design on them?
• 1:16
  SPEAKER_02: Like cartoons or something.
• 1:18
SPEAKER_02: Because that was the whole point.
• 1:20
SPEAKER_02: That after you there were the small ones, and after you finished, they they were cups.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_02: It was literally so that you can make them cups.
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_02: I didn't know that.
• 1:29
  SPEAKER_02: I don't remember.
• 1:29
  SPEAKER_02: You don't remember?
• 1:30
SPEAKER_02: Oh, I remember my grandmother had them.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_02: Alright, I'm I'm gonna have to look that up.
• 1:35
  SPEAKER_02: That's okay.
• 1:36
  unknown: Okay.
• 1:37
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:38
SPEAKER_00: I do remember the company.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_00: You probably go for a lot of money from McDonald's.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, I remember those.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_00: I think we had all of them.
• 1:47
SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna introduce yourself?
• 1:49
SPEAKER_00: Are you just gonna play on your phone?
• 1:50
  SPEAKER_00: I was waiting.
• 1:51
SPEAKER_00: No, I was waiting, looking at my notes, and I just forgot.
• 1:54
SPEAKER_00: I forgot that it was my turn.
• 1:56
SPEAKER_00: We're still talking about glasses and jelly and stuff.
• 1:59
SPEAKER_00: I'm Agnes and I'm drinking my normal usual drink.
• 2:06
  SPEAKER_00: Just coffee with Kahlua.
• 2:10
SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's Kahlua with coffee.
• 2:14
SPEAKER_02: Do you have hot takes?
• 2:16
  SPEAKER_02: Because I have one.
• 2:18
  SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
• 2:18
SPEAKER_00: So the obvious, as we're getting down to the wire, is obviously one of the two girls.
• 2:26
  SPEAKER_02: I was right.
• 2:27
  SPEAKER_02: I was right.
• 2:28
  SPEAKER_02: And you gaslit me.
• 2:30
SPEAKER_02: You were like, no, they're not gonna do that because Craig is, you know, so and I'm like, no, they're gonna let Jenna ride.
• 2:37
SPEAKER_02: I said, they're who's gonna be the next one to be dead?
• 2:40
SPEAKER_02: I mean, to be to be not dead.
• 2:43
SPEAKER_02: Who's the the next one to be revealed as alive?
• 2:46
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, watch it be Craig because they wanna build upon that stupid throwaway statement of Jenna's like, I'll probably be dead in 20 years.
• 2:55
SPEAKER_02: And we know it wasn't gonna be Sam revealed because she's too in it.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_02: I don't think they were guilt lighting you.
• 3:02
SPEAKER_02: I remember you were like, no, I'm a professional TV watcher and I know everything.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_02: No, what I was no, what I did say is are you sure because I'm gonna be able to do that?
• 3:10
SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's gonna be Jenna that's gonna be the victim.
• 3:12
  SPEAKER_00: I still think it's Samantha's gonna be killed.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_02: No, but you said they weren't gonna reveal Craig as alive.
• 3:21
  SPEAKER_02: So you voted Jenna.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_02: Because it was Alright, if you say so.
• 3:28
  SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_00: Okay, if you say so, I agree.
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_00: Fine.
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_00: I just I just don't remember that.
• 3:32
SPEAKER_00: But you don't remember anything.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_00: This is a good one.
• 3:36
SPEAKER_02: But let's talk about the Godfather and you'll tell me what they were wearing.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I really don't remember gaslighting you.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_00: I just I remember talking about definitely think it was gonna be Sam gonna be the murderer.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_00: I don't think Jenna was gonna be the murderer.
• 3:55
SPEAKER_02: No, well, we were we were talking about who was gonna be the next reveal.
• 3:59
SPEAKER_02: And I said Craig and you said Jenna, and then I was like, fine, you're probably right, Jenna, because you oh, I guess maybe I wasn't following what we were arguing, what we were talking about.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_02: Craig also has another reveal, which is like, oh, oh, okay, okay, right.
• 4:20
SPEAKER_02: So let me channel my inner Stefan.
• 4:24
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, are you ready?
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_02: Your inner Stefan?
• 4:27
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 4:29
SPEAKER_02: This episode, 1989, has everything lies, betrayal, karma, a wedding, a wheelchair, more fake taxis, beating up on churches, and an actual good cliffhanger.
• 4:49
  SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
• 4:51
  SPEAKER_00: I'm ready.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_00: Well, I didn't give you my actual hot, I had a couple hot takes.
• 4:55
  SPEAKER_00: You didn't give them?
• 4:56
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 4:57
SPEAKER_00: Because you're excited about telling me that I gaslit you, that I don't want to remember the gaslight.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I have 600 fucking bullet points here.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_00: Oh, this is okay, this is the one.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_00: It's not only a hot take, just a thought.
• 5:13
SPEAKER_00: What if Carla ends up with the adoptive dad?
• 5:18
SPEAKER_00: And that is why now in the present time, she's Miss Hoity Toity, because she has money.
• 5:24
SPEAKER_00: Or had money, because she divorced him.
• 5:26
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, whatever.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_00: She took all his money.
• 5:28
  SPEAKER_02: I like that.
• 5:28
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's it.
• 5:30
  SPEAKER_00: I have a note about that.
• 5:31
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 5:32
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 5:32
  SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh.
• 5:33
SPEAKER_00: So that's actually because Mr.
• 5:34
  SPEAKER_00: Ho Miss Hoiti Toidie.
• 5:36
  SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
• 5:36
SPEAKER_02: Well, it also could be And kind of jaded.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it also could be because like Aaron might be the love of her life, and you know.
• 5:45
SPEAKER_00: And she divorced him and took all his money too.
• 5:46
  SPEAKER_00: Not enough.
• 5:47
SPEAKER_02: Well, who says they're divorced?
• 5:48
SPEAKER_02: Maybe they could be still together.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_02: Hmm, interesting.
• 5:51
  SPEAKER_02: I mean, we we don't know.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_02: Maybe after he was done chasing German tourists in Prague, he came back and was like, week four, now we're together.
• 6:05
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 6:07
SPEAKER_02: The episode opens on Sam trying on her wedding dress for Carla and Amy.
• 6:15
SPEAKER_02: So while that escalated quickly, Sam is now getting married this weekend, and obviously it's to Craig.
• 6:23
SPEAKER_02: I guess Craig does get what he wants.
• 6:26
  SPEAKER_02: Or does he?
• 6:28
  SPEAKER_00: Dun dun dun.
• 6:30
SPEAKER_02: Carla mentions the adoptive mom has good days and bad days.
• 6:35
SPEAKER_02: So Ooh, I wonder what that's gonna mean.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_02: Craig then arrives to the loft, sees Sam in the dress.
• 6:43
SPEAKER_02: Don't you know that that's bad luck?
• 6:45
  SPEAKER_02: I guess you'll find out later.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_02: In Seattle, Aaron is packing up the car so he could head to New York for the wedding, and Heather is like, I know we gotta leave in like six minutes, but I got some bad news for you.
• 6:59
  SPEAKER_02: Whoops.
• 7:00
  SPEAKER_02: Talk about good timing.
• 7:02
  SPEAKER_02: Right?
• 7:03
SPEAKER_02: In Bedford, Russell approaches Will about the Fed involvement, and Will's like, oh yeah, they they came to me, but I told them to go to hell.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_02: And then he goes to the feds and tells them to go to hell.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_02: So he's he's got his facts in a little bit out of order.
• 7:22
SPEAKER_02: Now we're gonna head to present day.
• 7:24
  SPEAKER_02: Detective M is recapping.
• 7:26
  SPEAKER_02: So thanks, buddy.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_02: Will was the first at the crime scene and refused to give a statement.
• 7:33
SPEAKER_02: Ballistics can link him to the gun used in the murder, but not only have they not found the gun yet, the blood, dun dun, dun, does not match Will, which I think we know that that was gonna happen.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_02: Jenna is gonna be in People magazine, and so she tells Carla that she can do the photography.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_02: And then they're talking about the fact that Carla's still a virgin.
• 7:58
SPEAKER_02: Paul, who is the adoptive dad, calls Carla because he's worried about Megan and Amy.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, could you go check on them?
• 8:09
  SPEAKER_02: He's like, I'll pay you overtime.
• 8:11
SPEAKER_02: And she's like, no, no, no, of course not.
• 8:13
SPEAKER_02: I I'll just I would love to do that for you.
• 8:16
SPEAKER_02: That's not what she says, but that's what she's saying.
• 8:19
  SPEAKER_00: That's the vibe.
• 8:19
  SPEAKER_00: That's definitely the vibe.
• 8:20
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she might as well have.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_02: When they show the exterior of the building where I guess supposedly Megan and Paul and Amy are supposed to live, that's New York.
• 8:31
  SPEAKER_02: Like real New York.
• 8:32
SPEAKER_02: At least they got that right.
• 8:33
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_02: It's like that the same bit, like that one.
• 8:37
SPEAKER_02: They just told somebody, go stand on the corner and take a picture.
• 8:42
SPEAKER_02: Really quick, take a little bit of stock footage and mail it to us.
• 8:45
SPEAKER_02: And we're just gonna use that every time we need just a random New York video where none of you have to be in it.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_00: And I feel like that's I see I've seen that stock photo in other cities.
• 8:55
  SPEAKER_02: I know.
• 8:56
SPEAKER_02: I I feel like it might as well be like Central Park West, or it could even be Park Slope.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it could just, it's just like that generic tree-lined New York street, you know?
• 9:06
  SPEAKER_00: I thought it was a high-rise, like a big apartment building.
• 9:09
SPEAKER_02: It's an apartment building, yeah.
• 9:10
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 9:11
SPEAKER_00: Apartment buildings have street have trees on their streets.
• 9:14
SPEAKER_00: No, but it's so funny.
• 9:15
SPEAKER_00: When you think of park slope, I'm thinking of like brownstones.
• 9:18
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but but I was wondering if there was another stock that I missed.
• 9:23
  SPEAKER_02: No, no, no, no.
• 9:24
SPEAKER_02: But you know how like when you get closer, sometimes towards the park, there's buildings over there.
• 9:31
SPEAKER_02: Like when you get when you're going more towards um not quite sunset park.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_00: Um I know what you talk.
• 9:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's on top of my tongue.
• 9:41
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I can't.
• 9:42
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, thank you.
• 9:43
  SPEAKER_00: No, I get you.
• 9:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 9:44
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_00: But it's funny, like when I'm watching TV, I don't know if it's Brooklyn or they're usually it's brownstones, is their stock.
• 9:53
  SPEAKER_02: But you can tell.
• 9:54
SPEAKER_02: You can usually tell what borough it is by looking at us New Yorkers now.
• 9:58
SPEAKER_00: But think that's totally like Central Park West.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I got I get the Central Park West vibe for sure.
• 10:05
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_02: But there's a lot of places in Brooklyn.
• 10:08
  SPEAKER_00: It's somehow it's different.
• 10:10
  SPEAKER_00: You can tell.
• 10:10
SPEAKER_00: It could still be trees and apartment building, be like, okay, that's a Brooklyn one.
• 10:14
  SPEAKER_00: It's weird.
• 10:15
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 10:15
  SPEAKER_00: It's so weird.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_02: But there's a lot of crossover between Brooklyn and Manhattan.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_02: But what's funny is that like we could look at that scene and be like, okay, that ain't Staten Island.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_02: That's not Queens, and for damn sure it ain't the Bronx.
• 10:30
SPEAKER_02: It could either be Brooklyn or Manhattan.
• 10:32
  SPEAKER_02: But then I mean, yeah, there's like a 0.3% chance it's Queens, right?
• 10:42
SPEAKER_00: Like it's just, it's not, but it but yeah, but there's always something we can tell, like, no, that's Manhattan over Brooklyn.
• 10:49
  SPEAKER_00: Like there's something I can't tell.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_02: There's very few scenes where you're like, wow, I can't tell which borough this is.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_02: Not and not in this show, just but in general, yeah, I agree.
• 10:58
SPEAKER_02: Especially when it's like Greenpoint looking, because Greenpoint can look even Red Hook can look very much like any other borough.
• 11:07
SPEAKER_02: Have you ever noticed that?
• 11:09
SPEAKER_02: Greenpoint and Red Hook are kind of neighborhoodly ambiguous certain parts.
• 11:15
SPEAKER_00: So for me, Red Hook, I don't know what it is.
• 11:18
SPEAKER_02: When they have a scene, let's say I mean, unless I see it's fine, and then I'm like, oh, okay.
• 11:24
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 11:24
SPEAKER_00: Like in Law and Order, and they're just like, and they're just, you don't know where they're where they're at at the moment.
• 11:30
SPEAKER_02: Well, in Law and Order, they'll be like, oh, we're at, you know, because they always say, like, oh, such and such.
• 11:36
SPEAKER_00: Something like off or whatever.
• 11:37
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 11:37
SPEAKER_02: And they're never in that place.
• 11:39
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 11:40
  SPEAKER_02: But yeah.
• 11:41
SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're actually in New York.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_02: They're just not in that.
• 11:43
SPEAKER_02: It'll be like, oh, we're at, we're here in the Bronx.
• 11:46
SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, actually, that's Sullivan Street in Brooklyn, but okay.
• 11:49
SPEAKER_00: But at least they're in they get the look right.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_00: But they get the look right, absolutely.
• 11:55
  SPEAKER_00: If that makes sense.
• 11:57
SPEAKER_00: For those who don't know, New York streets are always inundated by camera crews and trailers, and New Yorkers don't care.
• 12:05
SPEAKER_00: They'll walk right through and not give a fuck.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_00: With the exception of Law and Order.
• 12:10
SPEAKER_00: Law and Order is New York fam.
• 12:13
SPEAKER_00: And we will walk around a law and order so we won't fuck up their seat.
• 12:17
  SPEAKER_00: They get the respect.
• 12:18
  SPEAKER_00: No one else will.
• 12:22
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but and then there's like um a lot of flatbush and midwood that crosses over into Queens, even Staten Island.
• 12:31
  SPEAKER_02: So like that's what I'm saying.
• 12:32
  SPEAKER_02: There's there's neighborhoods where they're going for a certain look.
• 12:36
SPEAKER_02: Like if you're going for that like quintessential little house look, you could go to Midwood, you can go to parts of Staten Island, you could go to parts of Queens.
• 12:46
SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be the same look.
• 12:49
SPEAKER_02: It's just a matter of when it depends.
• 12:51
SPEAKER_02: You gotta know what to look for to know how to tell it apart.
• 12:54
SPEAKER_02: Because the details you can tell why you know the driveways.
• 13:00
SPEAKER_00: That's what it and the size of the yards.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_00: And okay, that's the funny thing.
• 13:05
SPEAKER_00: Because as I'm looking, I can never tell you why I know.
• 13:08
SPEAKER_00: I just know, like, oh that's in Queens.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_02: The driveways tend to go like shared driveways.
• 13:15
SPEAKER_02: Queens has a lot more shared driveways, and the garage is in the back.
• 13:18
SPEAKER_02: So the car pulls into the back of the house.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_02: Like in Brooklyn, there's not as there's houses, but there's not as many driveways.
• 13:28
SPEAKER_02: And in Staten Island, it's pretty much all like not really a lot of garages, but a lot of driveways.
• 13:36
SPEAKER_02: It's just like stupid little things that you don't even know that you know them.
• 13:40
  SPEAKER_02: That you know, right.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_02: But you know, you know, you know by looking.
• 13:43
SPEAKER_02: It's so stupid, but you know by looking.
• 13:45
SPEAKER_00: It's ingrained in the streets.
• 13:47
SPEAKER_02: And it's not like a hard and fast rule.
• 13:50
SPEAKER_02: It's not like, you know, every house in Queens has a shared driveway, and none in Brooklyn do.
• 13:54
SPEAKER_02: No, but you just for the most part.
• 13:57
SPEAKER_02: You can make a good guess.
• 13:59
SPEAKER_02: All right, this has been driveway talk.
• 14:01
  SPEAKER_02: Let's continue.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_02: Thank you for coming tonight.
• 14:03
  SPEAKER_02: Let's park this talk.
• 14:05
  SPEAKER_01: Let's park this topic.
• 14:09
SPEAKER_02: So back at the real outside scene, even though they're not really in New York in the show.
• 14:16
SPEAKER_02: I mean, in the Okay, anyway, Carla goes inside, she finds Megan in this like tizzy, she's packing, she's emotional, and she tells Carla to mind her business and get out.
• 14:31
SPEAKER_02: So, what does Carla do?
• 14:34
SPEAKER_02: Carla rats her ass out.
• 14:36
SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, in Bedford, the boys are recapping their bachelor party, and Will finds out that Craig will soon be working with them at Craig's dad's um business firm, yeah.
• 14:52
  SPEAKER_00: Firm, thank you.
• 14:55
SPEAKER_02: Then Aaron arrives and is like, oh, I can't believe I missed the party.
• 15:00
SPEAKER_02: And but did you guys have a yeah, yeah?
• 15:03
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, where's Heather?
• 15:05
SPEAKER_02: Oh, she's not feeling well.
• 15:06
SPEAKER_02: She's back at the hotel.
• 15:07
SPEAKER_02: Now, at this point in the show, we actually don't know that she broke up with him.
• 15:12
SPEAKER_02: We just know she had to tell him something.
• 15:14
SPEAKER_00: She'd after leaving the bathroom being sick.
• 15:17
SPEAKER_00: We're like, oh, yeah, we don't know what that is.
• 15:19
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, something is wrong.
• 15:20
SPEAKER_00: And this scene was funny to me.
• 15:23
SPEAKER_00: There was a moment that was like, so they're at Will's house.
• 15:27
SPEAKER_00: Russell calls, Aaron answers the phone, and he's like, Oh, hi, Mr.
• 15:33
SPEAKER_00: Whatever his name is and then thank you.
• 15:36
SPEAKER_00: Craig goes to reach for the phone.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_00: He's like, Oh, he wants Will.
• 15:39
SPEAKER_00: And Craig is like, womp womp.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_00: Dude, he called Will's house.
• 15:43
  SPEAKER_02: I know.
• 15:44
SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, he probably knew you were there, but he called this house.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_02: He works with the guy.
• 15:50
SPEAKER_02: Why is this so surprising?
• 15:52
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 15:53
SPEAKER_02: This should not come as a shock.
• 15:54
  SPEAKER_00: It should not.
• 15:55
  SPEAKER_00: It should not.
• 15:57
SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm going to your house, Lisa, and you get a phone call for you.
• 16:00
  SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, fine.
• 16:01
SPEAKER_00: Like, you know what I mean?
• 16:08
  SPEAKER_02: You know what?
• 16:08
SPEAKER_02: Next time I come to your house, I'm gonna make sure that you get phone calls, okay?
• 16:14
SPEAKER_02: That was me being that was me making a point at the end.
• 16:16
  SPEAKER_02: I know, I know.
• 16:17
SPEAKER_00: This is me being sarcastic.
• 16:19
  SPEAKER_00: I'm confusion.
• 16:20
  SPEAKER_00: I get it.
• 16:22
  SPEAKER_00: Forgotten.
• 16:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 16:25
SPEAKER_02: So back in the city, Paul arrives because Carla ratted his family out.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_02: And before we even go inside, right?
• 16:40
SPEAKER_02: Complete this scene, I had very mixed feelings about this.
• 16:46
SPEAKER_02: Now I know Carla works there.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_02: She's been there for about a year, ish, right?
• 16:51
SPEAKER_02: We don't know exactly how long, but we we know that it's about a year.
• 16:55
SPEAKER_02: Only because there's a a a line that Will says something about that.
• 17:00
SPEAKER_02: He's working he's been working with the feds for a year.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_02: So we know that it's about a year.
• 17:06
SPEAKER_02: So I would assume that she has some good insight on this family because she works very closely with them.
• 17:16
SPEAKER_02: But does that mean that you know everything?
• 17:18
SPEAKER_02: How do you know what was going on when you weren't around?
• 17:22
SPEAKER_02: What if this woman was being abused?
• 17:25
SPEAKER_02: What if the kid was being abused?
• 17:27
SPEAKER_02: What if she took this moment to leave for her and the kid's safety and you just ratted them out?
• 17:38
SPEAKER_02: I don't know, I'm like so mixed on it, you know?
• 17:41
  SPEAKER_00: I concur.
• 17:42
SPEAKER_00: I think it's one of those situations where there's no right answer.
• 17:46
  SPEAKER_00: There's no there's no right answer.
• 17:48
SPEAKER_00: Like, let's it could be you ratted her out and she was trying to get away to safety, or it could have been, or it could be situations like she's unstable and the get and the kid needs to be with her.
• 18:01
SPEAKER_00: So you're like at this point as a was she 21 years old, mentally still a child.
• 18:07
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry, 21 year olds.
• 18:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, there's no there really was no right answer.
• 18:13
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was it was tough because it's like we we have to just trust Charla Charla.
• 18:18
SPEAKER_02: We have to trust Carla's judgment sight unseen because we have no idea what goes on in this family.
• 18:25
SPEAKER_02: Which to me was like, I don't know, I've I've seen all these episodes of Law and Order.
• 18:30
SPEAKER_02: This could go really wrong.
• 18:32
SPEAKER_00: But really, really, really wrong.
• 18:35
SPEAKER_02: So they enter the apartment, you know, Carla's like, oh, thank you for coming.
• 18:39
SPEAKER_02: And Paul's like, no, you did the right thing.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_02: And and that, I feel like that's what it was because it's such an ambiguous statement, right?
• 18:46
SPEAKER_02: No, you did the right thing calling.
• 18:48
SPEAKER_02: And maybe she did do the right thing, but I feel like that's what they always say, no, you did the right thing.
• 18:54
SPEAKER_02: So it's hard because these horrible people have ruined good phrases for all of us, right?
• 19:02
SPEAKER_00: When they're trying to get you on their side, right?
• 19:04
SPEAKER_00: No, it was you did the right thing.
• 19:06
SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like that grooming process.
• 19:08
SPEAKER_02: It's that grooming shit, right?
• 19:09
SPEAKER_02: Like you wouldn't want to hurt your mom by telling her, would you?
• 19:12
SPEAKER_02: You know, like actually, yes, I love fucking hurting my mom.
• 19:16
  SPEAKER_02: Thank you very much.
• 19:18
SPEAKER_02: No, no, you know what I'm no, I totally get it.
• 19:23
  SPEAKER_02: But yeah.
• 19:24
SPEAKER_02: Because nobody says, no, I love hurting my mom.
• 19:26
SPEAKER_02: No, everybody, you know what I mean?
• 19:28
SPEAKER_00: And that's how one day one of these groomers is gonna get a psychopathic person that like, okay, fine.
• 19:35
SPEAKER_00: And they're like, shit, that blew up in my face.
• 19:40
SPEAKER_02: But anyway, so Paul comes in, she's still packing, and Carla's like, yeah, okay, uh, uh, whatever.
• 19:50
SPEAKER_02: Will is now magically back in the city with Carla and Amy.
• 19:54
  SPEAKER_02: They're at a park, they're feeding some ducks.
• 19:56
SPEAKER_02: Carla is talking about the wedding plans, and Will is like, yeah, no, it's totally fine.
• 20:03
SPEAKER_02: It's like, all right, buddy, can we say bad bad pretending?
• 20:07
SPEAKER_02: Because she's like, Yeah, what about then I'll set my hair on fire?
• 20:11
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, Yeah, no, totally.
• 20:15
SPEAKER_02: Sam arrives, and Carla and Sam are sitting at the bench, and Carla's like, oh, because Sam sees Will and Amy bonding, so to speak.
• 20:28
SPEAKER_02: They're like meeting the duck.
• 20:29
SPEAKER_00: He brings up all these emotions.
• 20:32
SPEAKER_02: And Carla's like, oh, I'm so sorry.
• 20:34
SPEAKER_02: And Sam is like, no, I should have called.
• 20:36
  SPEAKER_02: What?
• 20:37
  SPEAKER_02: Connected to the tree?
• 20:38
  SPEAKER_02: It's 1989.
• 20:40
  SPEAKER_02: What were you calling?
• 20:41
  SPEAKER_02: The duck?
• 20:41
  SPEAKER_00: I caught that too.
• 20:42
  SPEAKER_02: The pond phone?
• 20:44
SPEAKER_02: Like, did your does your tin can have an extension cord?
• 20:49
SPEAKER_02: Like, what were you gonna call on?
• 20:52
SPEAKER_00: That was definitely a blooper that they did not catch.
• 20:56
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, in the best of light, maybe it was like, oh, I should have just called the house earlier and let you know I'll meet you later.
• 21:06
SPEAKER_02: But realistically, it's like, yeah, that that doesn't quite make sense.
• 21:12
  SPEAKER_00: No, it doesn't.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_00: I think even watching it in 2005, it would have been caught.
• 21:17
  SPEAKER_00: Like, what?
• 21:44
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, I missed something.
• 21:46
SPEAKER_02: Because I'm like, wait, how is Will magically back in the city?
• 21:49
SPEAKER_02: Because before he was in Bedford, because that's why Russell called, he wanted him to come over.
• 21:55
SPEAKER_00: I was gonna mention that.
• 21:57
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 21:57
SPEAKER_02: So he goes to the house, he accuses him of working with the feds, he fucking rips his shirt open.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_02: Um, that's assault, my friend.
• 22:06
  SPEAKER_02: And then he's like 89.
• 22:08
  SPEAKER_00: I don't think anything.
• 22:10
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, there were a lot more things that, you know, they they could get away with, but that's still assault.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_02: Because he's like, oh, open your shirt.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_02: You're working with the feds, and then he rips his shirt, and then he's like, Oh, oh, yeah, sorry.
• 22:23
SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know, but I I I just didn't know who I could trust.
• 22:27
SPEAKER_02: But and then that's why I'm like, magically now he's in the city.
• 22:30
SPEAKER_02: But he's he have like he wiggles his nose and he disappears.
• 22:36
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I know you can get on Metro North, but like that still takes time.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_02: New York has amazing transportation.
• 22:48
SPEAKER_02: You could get from anywhere to anywhere.
• 22:50
  SPEAKER_02: It's not all fast.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_02: So like, how did you do that?
• 22:56
SPEAKER_02: Because I think there's a lot of commuters who would like to know.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_02: Like that takes Metro North all the time.
• 23:05
  SPEAKER_02: I assure you.
• 23:06
SPEAKER_02: It is it is good, but it ain't that good.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_00: Or not, no, because that time of travel between work and home for some people, i.e.
• 23:18
SPEAKER_00: me, was my is your only piece to be left alone.
• 23:23
SPEAKER_00: Even though you're around millions of people, you're still just like we all we all mind our business.
• 23:29
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 23:29
  SPEAKER_00: You're like, I don't have to do anything.
• 23:32
SPEAKER_00: You put your airpod, well, headphones.
• 23:34
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, your headphones, you read your book, whatever.
• 23:37
SPEAKER_00: Back in the 80s and 90s, whatever.
• 23:39
  SPEAKER_00: They had Walkman's.
• 23:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I was first gonna say AirPods, and I corrected myself.
• 23:45
SPEAKER_00: Because they didn't have AirPods, they didn't have AirPods in the 80s.
• 23:49
SPEAKER_00: Apparently they had cell phones.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_02: I mean, they they did.
• 23:54
SPEAKER_02: They did, but they weren't but but Will didn't have one.
• 23:58
  SPEAKER_02: Sam didn't have one.
• 23:59
  SPEAKER_02: They weren't one.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_02: Russell might have had one.
• 24:01
  SPEAKER_02: They weren't basic, everyday.
• 24:04
  SPEAKER_02: They're not like now.
• 24:05
SPEAKER_02: Like even in the late 90s, when we graduated from high school, I remember I graduated in '97, and I remember that when I went to my prom, my dad, was it my dad?
• 24:21
SPEAKER_02: Oh my mom, one of them had a cell phone and gave it to me for the night in case of an emergency.
• 24:27
SPEAKER_02: But it was like, here's the phone, don't use it unless it's an emergency because it was expensive and you still had to pay for minutes.
• 24:36
SPEAKER_02: And and I think you still you needed like a code to dial out.
• 24:40
SPEAKER_02: It was like, you don't remember that?
• 24:43
  SPEAKER_00: I got my phone in '97.
• 24:45
SPEAKER_00: There was no code to dial out.
• 24:48
SPEAKER_02: But not all of them had it, but you could my mother or whoever it was, they had like Okay.
• 24:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they had like a code.
• 24:56
  SPEAKER_00: I do remember.
• 24:58
SPEAKER_00: I do remember because like when like when it was free, when it wasn't free, I'd be like, okay.
• 25:04
SPEAKER_02: And like incoming calls were free.
• 25:06
  SPEAKER_00: And I go.
• 25:07
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 25:07
SPEAKER_00: I don't, I can't remember what but I do remember because we still have our beepers and our pagers.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_00: That was still a big thing.
• 25:14
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, beep me.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, page me and I'll call you back.
• 25:18
  SPEAKER_00: On my cell phone.
• 25:19
SPEAKER_00: Don't call me on the cell phone.
• 25:21
SPEAKER_02: But my point is just to say that even in the late 90s, cell phones were still a they were a thing, they were more of a thing, but they still weren't a thing.
• 25:30
  SPEAKER_00: A thing.
• 25:30
SPEAKER_00: They were a thing, but they weren't a thing.
• 25:31
  SPEAKER_00: And I and that's a thing.
• 25:33
  unknown: Yeah.
• 25:36
SPEAKER_02: So Sam is watching this interaction with Will and Amy, and you know, her stupid little heart is melting.
• 25:45
SPEAKER_02: And then Will is like, okay, well, I gotta get back to work.
• 25:48
SPEAKER_02: Or I gotta get back.
• 25:51
SPEAKER_02: You must have a magic carpet for the way you like to bounce back and forth.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_02: I mean, maybe he knows something we don't.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 26:01
  SPEAKER_02: Maybe there's a secret tunnel.
• 26:05
SPEAKER_02: Jenna's at the meeting with, I think it's like her agent, and the agent gets her this fancy photographer, and Jenna's like, oh, but what about my friend Carla?
• 26:15
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, uh, do you really want to tell Julian that he can't photograph you because, you know, blah, blah, blah, negative impact on your future, blah, blah, blah.
• 26:27
  SPEAKER_02: So she's like, okay, that's fine.
• 26:32
SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about the movie now.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_00: I'm not horribly upset at her.
• 26:36
SPEAKER_00: Because she's still she's not like Meryl Streep important, where she like, no, this is what we're doing.
• 26:43
SPEAKER_00: And I kind of understand where she's like, I still want to make yes.
• 26:50
SPEAKER_00: So I'm not exactly and I it was fucked up to put her friend to the side, but I don't, but I don't hate her for making the decision because she doesn't at this point she doesn't have much power.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_02: No, I don't blame her for the decision she made, but I will say that I do not agree with how she handled it at all.
• 27:09
  SPEAKER_00: I concur.
• 27:10
  SPEAKER_00: I agree with that.
• 27:11
SPEAKER_02: I think that she still could have said, okay, I'll, you know, I'll I'll definitely, you know, work with Julie and thank you so much for setting that up.
• 27:23
SPEAKER_02: However, do you mind checking out her per her portfolio, maybe keeping her in mind for the future?
• 27:30
  SPEAKER_02: You had that opportunity.
• 27:31
SPEAKER_02: Even if you weren't gonna say, I'm gonna fight to hire you, you could have still said, you know, do you, you know, will you at least check out her photos and keep her in mind for the future?
• 27:43
  SPEAKER_00: You're correct.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_02: And then later, it, you know, she just makes it even worse, which is really, really the shitty part.
• 27:52
SPEAKER_02: Carla returns Amy to the apartment, and we find out that Megan is gone.
• 27:57
  SPEAKER_02: She left them.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_02: And the father is like, uh, Paul, is like, oh my God, I knew she wasn't happy and she wanted a kid for so long, but how unhappy must she have been to leave not just me but her child?
• 28:10
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, I'm really gonna need you now, Carla.
• 28:12
SPEAKER_02: And she sits down and she takes off her bag and she's like, I'm here for whatever you need.
• 28:17
SPEAKER_02: And my spidey senses were all like, mm-hmm.
• 28:21
SPEAKER_00: My law order, Agnes, is like, oh, he killed her.
• 28:26
SPEAKER_00: And because she's dead, and he's playing the oh being the kid.
• 28:32
SPEAKER_00: No, that was like my that was that vibe I got.
• 28:35
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she sure might be.
• 28:37
SPEAKER_02: She might be in that pond with the ducks and all those fake ass taxis.
• 28:44
  SPEAKER_02: Did you see them?
• 28:46
SPEAKER_02: What what kind of pond is that?
• 28:47
SPEAKER_02: It was two feet wide.
• 28:49
  SPEAKER_02: Buddy, you're fishing in a puddle.
• 28:51
SPEAKER_02: Like, we got puddles bigger than that here.
• 28:55
SPEAKER_02: Have you seen our roads?
• 28:57
  SPEAKER_00: Pick a pothole.
• 28:58
  SPEAKER_00: There you go.
• 28:58
  SPEAKER_02: I know.
• 29:01
  SPEAKER_02: Seriously.
• 29:03
SPEAKER_02: You know where I used to live, right?
• 29:05
SPEAKER_02: And in the the back of the complex when it when it rains a lot, like you you couldn't get into your car because the the puddle was so high.
• 29:17
SPEAKER_02: So I used to put boots on the kids and be like, go play.
• 29:20
SPEAKER_02: And they used to just go in their rain boots and just sit or their sandals if it was warmer, you know, and just literally stomp around in that giant ass puddle that was like six feet wide.
• 29:32
SPEAKER_00: The funny sh thing is too.
• 29:34
SPEAKER_00: That's the whole go play in traffic to a whole different level.
• 29:38
SPEAKER_02: Like go play in the puddle.
• 29:40
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, kids always want to stomp around in a puddle.
• 29:44
SPEAKER_02: So at least it was like, yeah, go ahead.
• 29:46
  SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
• 29:48
  SPEAKER_02: You ain't going nowhere.
• 29:49
SPEAKER_02: There's no cars, there's no traffic over there.
• 29:51
  SPEAKER_02: So just go.
• 29:52
SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, so that situation was very like there's something I I refuse to believe that it is just as innocent as shit.
• 30:04
SPEAKER_02: She was unhappy, she left.
• 30:06
SPEAKER_02: What am I gonna do with this kid?
• 30:08
  SPEAKER_02: I really need help.
• 30:09
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 30:11
SPEAKER_02: The feds, meanwhile, tracked down Will at his job site because you know he's back in Bedford now, magic, and they're like, get in the car.
• 30:20
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, I'm done with you.
• 30:22
SPEAKER_02: He's like, actually, you are done with us, but here's some advice.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_02: That dude, Russell, is a bad guy.
• 30:29
SPEAKER_02: You might want to get away from him because he is going down.
• 30:34
  SPEAKER_00: Down.
• 30:35
  SPEAKER_02: Yep.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_02: Back at the loft, Aaron introduces Carla and Jenna to Grunge because it's 1989.
• 30:45
SPEAKER_02: And the girl, and then he's like, Oh, okay, now I gotta go.
• 30:48
SPEAKER_02: And so the girls jump to the conclusion that Heather is pregnant because you know she's sick.
• 30:54
SPEAKER_02: And it's like, listen, I don't know about you, but I know me.
• 30:59
SPEAKER_02: If I say, Oh, I'm nauseous right away, somebody's gonna ask me if I'm pregnant.
• 31:03
SPEAKER_02: Because apparently women can only be nauseous if they're pregnant.
• 31:07
  SPEAKER_00: It's very annoying.
• 31:10
  SPEAKER_02: I know.
• 31:11
SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm still waiting for somebody to say, Are you pregnant when I feel nauseous now?
• 31:17
SPEAKER_02: So I could say, yes, wait for the baby.
• 31:20
  SPEAKER_00: So am I.
• 31:22
  SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm living for.
• 31:23
  SPEAKER_00: I can't wait.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_02: Although I think that maybe with our, you know, advanced age, somebody might be like, Are you going through menopause?
• 31:34
SPEAKER_02: Well, no, just just they might be afraid to say, are you pregnant?
• 31:37
SPEAKER_02: Because they don't know if we're there yet.
• 31:40
SPEAKER_00: But I feel like with women, it's always like, no, I have it's always either you're pregnant or you're going through menopause.
• 31:46
  SPEAKER_00: You got your period.
• 31:47
SPEAKER_00: It's always something like, no, it's always about your period.
• 31:51
  SPEAKER_00: Um I'm cursing you out because you're a moron and I'm talking to a 40-year-old child.
• 31:57
SPEAKER_00: Two, I'm sick because I caught a virus that causes changes in your body.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_00: Okay, like I haven't half flashes yet because of that, but still, the other two.
• 32:08
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so just FYI, women don't always have to be pregnant to feel nauseous.
• 32:13
SPEAKER_02: I promise you, there's other options like food poisoning or alcohol.
• 32:18
SPEAKER_02: Oh, you know, or just sick.
• 32:19
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 32:20
SPEAKER_00: Oh, she's like, oh, alcohol, damn it.
• 32:22
SPEAKER_00: We get hangovers too, although not often, but you know, some of us are better at it.
• 32:28
SPEAKER_02: And then Jenna tells Carla the bad news about the photo shoot, and she's like, but I fought for you.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_02: No, you fucking did not.
• 32:39
  SPEAKER_02: No, you did not.
• 32:40
SPEAKER_02: See, you went too far.
• 32:43
SPEAKER_02: You could have just said, I'm so sorry.
• 32:46
  SPEAKER_02: He just, I I had it.
• 32:49
SPEAKER_02: Even even modifying the truth, right?
• 32:52
SPEAKER_02: A little like um just a little bit, yeah.
• 32:55
SPEAKER_02: Omission would have gone a lot a lot longer of the way.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_02: I had your portfolio there.
• 33:01
SPEAKER_02: He just he really was adamant, he didn't want to hear it.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_02: It's it it made me feel like if I didn't pick that photographer, I couldn't do the shoot.
• 33:09
SPEAKER_02: So I feel like Carla would have not still been happy, but she would have understood that.
• 33:15
SPEAKER_00: Did you catch at the end of the Jenna and Manja scene where he goes, Let's talk about the movie.
• 33:22
  SPEAKER_00: It's called Hudson Hawk.
• 33:23
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, oh, I love that movie.
• 33:25
SPEAKER_00: It was so cute with Bruce Willis.
• 33:27
SPEAKER_02: Oh, I didn't realize that was a real movie.
• 33:29
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was with Bruce Willis, and then actually uh Nintendo had a video game.
• 33:34
SPEAKER_00: Did not make any of that.
• 33:36
SPEAKER_00: My brother's Game Boy, they had the Hudson Hawk.
• 33:38
SPEAKER_00: We used to that was yeah, it was a cute movie, you still watch it.
• 33:41
SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'll I'll say, okay, sure, I'll take your word for it.
• 33:45
  SPEAKER_00: Translation, she won't.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_02: I'll take your word for it.
• 33:49
SPEAKER_00: I know no, I said you should catch it.
• 33:50
  SPEAKER_00: I'm like translation she won't.
• 33:52
  SPEAKER_02: I won't.
• 33:53
  SPEAKER_00: But Bruce Willis.
• 33:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I like Bruce Willis.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_02: So now it's late at night.
• 33:59
SPEAKER_02: It's a rainy, late night, and we see we see Will laying asleep on his couch.
• 34:06
  SPEAKER_02: There's a knock at the door.
• 34:08
  SPEAKER_02: Who is it?
• 34:09
  SPEAKER_02: It's Sam.
• 34:10
  SPEAKER_02: What does she want?
• 34:11
  SPEAKER_02: To fuck shit up.
• 34:16
  SPEAKER_02: Sh I mean.
• 34:19
  SPEAKER_02: He answers the door.
• 34:20
SPEAKER_02: She's standing there like a wet dog in the rain.
• 34:23
SPEAKER_02: She says she's sorry for everything.
• 34:24
SPEAKER_02: And then she plans this big loving apology kiss on his mouth.
• 34:30
SPEAKER_02: Do people apologize like that to you?
• 34:32
SPEAKER_02: Because I assure you, no one apologizes like that to me.
• 34:35
  SPEAKER_02: Same.
• 34:35
  SPEAKER_02: I've never gotten that.
• 34:36
  SPEAKER_00: I'm so sorry, blah.
• 34:39
SPEAKER_00: I'm lucky if I get an apology from people.
• 34:41
SPEAKER_02: Okay, so she apologizes, then runs away, literally leaving this man out in the rain.
• 34:48
SPEAKER_02: I'm getting really tired of Sam's shit, okay?
• 34:51
SPEAKER_02: Now I understand why Will gets more yelly and whiny every fucking episode.
• 34:56
SPEAKER_00: I I hope Sam's character is the murder victim at this point.
• 35:01
SPEAKER_00: That's what actually put that in my notes.
• 35:03
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, she needs to keep annoying me.
• 35:04
  SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
• 35:05
SPEAKER_02: Like she's so confused, and I get that, but honey, you don't have to make a choice.
• 35:09
SPEAKER_02: And if your choice is fucking up these two lives, maybe it's the bad choice.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_02: Or maybe you need to take some more time for yourself and figure your own shit out.
• 35:19
SPEAKER_02: You can't keep dragging them to through your bullshit.
• 35:22
SPEAKER_00: And then this is only the what year three or four after the re- you know, end of the episode to the series.
• 35:29
SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine all the bullshit she's put them through between now and then the murder?
• 35:37
  SPEAKER_00: If she's a victim.
• 35:39
SPEAKER_02: Or if we actually had watched the last four years, how much more bullshit there would be.
• 35:44
SPEAKER_02: This is in the the words of Captain Lee, right?
• 35:48
SPEAKER_02: I'd rather rather drag my dick through 10 miles of broken whiskey bottles than be in a relationship with this fucking chick.
• 35:58
  SPEAKER_02: She is.
• 35:59
SPEAKER_00: I don't know how she can be part of the friend.
• 36:00
SPEAKER_00: At this point, you're like, no, you can't be part of the friends group, the friend group anymore.
• 36:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sorry, honey.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_02: In the present day, the detective shows up at Congressman Craig's house.
• 36:13
SPEAKER_02: That was like, oh, interesting.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_02: Not surprised.
• 36:18
  SPEAKER_02: Congressman.
• 36:19
  SPEAKER_02: What?
• 36:20
SPEAKER_00: I said, not surprised that he's made it to be a congressman.
• 36:23
SPEAKER_00: Because, you know, every congressman has a father that's been arrested for like embezzlement or whatever, bribery or whatever his father was arrested for.
• 36:32
SPEAKER_02: Congressman Craig is in the pool, and Craig tells the detective that appearances can be deceiving, and that Will was the best friend he's ever had.
• 36:42
SPEAKER_02: And with that, we go back to 89, we arrive at the rehearsal dinner.
• 36:48
SPEAKER_02: Will wants to talk to Craig, but Craig's like, oh, I gotta go water down my dad's drinks.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_02: Can't talk to you now.
• 36:54
SPEAKER_02: Carla sees Jenna's agent because Jenna brought a date, even though nobody else did, and says, Oh, I just, you know, once wanted to ask if you'll keep me in mind.
• 37:08
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, Oh, are you an actress?
• 37:10
  SPEAKER_02: Like, what?
• 37:11
SPEAKER_00: So no one else brought a date, but I don't see the problem with her bringing one either.
• 37:17
SPEAKER_00: Carla didn't bring a date because she's pining over Aaron.
• 37:19
SPEAKER_00: Yes, but Aaron would have bought a date.
• 37:22
  SPEAKER_00: I know, I know.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_02: I only mention it because it was mentioned.
• 37:27
SPEAKER_02: When Jenna mentioned it, Carla was like, Oh, I thought I thought we were going to be able to do that.
• 37:31
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 37:32
SPEAKER_00: But she said, I thought we weren't.
• 37:35
SPEAKER_00: Doesn't mean it was like she said that they weren't.
• 37:37
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 37:38
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
• 37:38
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 37:39
SPEAKER_00: Aaron would have had a date if his girlfriend hadn't broke broken up with him.
• 37:43
SPEAKER_00: Will doesn't have one because he's still playing over Samantha.
• 37:46
SPEAKER_00: Just like not like more like an outside thought.
• 37:51
SPEAKER_02: No one else had a date because Yeah, but but I okay, so in terms of Aaron, if like Aaron is living in Seattle with this chick.
• 38:02
SPEAKER_02: So like I I could understand why it's your friend's, like one of your best friends' wedding, that she would be invited.
• 38:11
  SPEAKER_02: They're living together.
• 38:13
SPEAKER_02: And if she no, no, hold on, hold on.
• 38:15
SPEAKER_02: So they traveled all the way from Seattle to New York.
• 38:18
SPEAKER_02: You you're not gonna say, um, the we we were kind of just doing all the friends at the rehearsal dinner, so you have to stay at the hotel.
• 38:25
  SPEAKER_02: Of course not.
• 38:26
SPEAKER_02: But for the other ones, especially Jenna and Carla, if they even if it didn't involve any of the other ones, it's like if they had this agreement where it's like, oh, we're just gonna, you know, it's just gonna be us.
• 38:40
SPEAKER_02: We're not gonna bring dates.
• 38:42
SPEAKER_02: It either way, it seems like at the very least, them two had an agreement and Jenna decided to do something else.
• 38:51
SPEAKER_00: But did they have an agreement?
• 38:52
  SPEAKER_00: That's my question.
• 38:54
SPEAKER_00: Because when Carla said that, Jenna didn't say that, you know what I mean?
• 38:58
SPEAKER_00: We're kind of left open.
• 38:59
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but Jenna also didn't say, no, we didn't.
• 39:02
SPEAKER_02: I think Jenna just felt like what could I say I fucked up?
• 39:07
  SPEAKER_02: Good point.
• 39:09
  SPEAKER_02: All right.
• 39:09
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know.
• 39:10
SPEAKER_02: I just I feel like when when people so like in this sense, Carla literally approached Jenna on it.
• 39:20
SPEAKER_02: Which makes me feel like, why would she do that if they didn't have and and then likewise if they didn't have, why wouldn't Jenna have just said, I didn't I didn't agree to that.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_02: Like, we didn't talk about that.
• 39:35
SPEAKER_02: You know, your silence is kind of agreement.
• 39:40
SPEAKER_00: I got the vibe, it was vice versa, that it wasn't really it may have been talked about, but it wasn't actually agreed upon.
• 39:48
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 39:48
  SPEAKER_00: I think in Carla's head.
• 39:49
  SPEAKER_00: That's that's what I got.
• 39:50
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 39:51
SPEAKER_02: I mean, but either way, either way, honestly, it does I mean it doesn't even matter.
• 39:55
SPEAKER_02: No because this just gave Carla the opportunity to talk to the guy, realize that he didn't look at her portfolio.
• 40:02
  SPEAKER_02: Jenna lied.
• 40:04
  SPEAKER_00: Big time.
• 40:06
  SPEAKER_02: And and realistically, right?
• 40:10
SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, but even though Carla was right that the guy didn't look, because she was like, Oh, what did you think of my black and whites?
• 40:20
SPEAKER_02: And he was like, Oh, they were great.
• 40:22
SPEAKER_02: And then sh turns out she didn't put any in it.
• 40:25
SPEAKER_02: But how do you know he wasn't just blowing smoke because maybe Jenna really did show him?
• 40:30
SPEAKER_02: Maybe he looked at it and he didn't care to remember.
• 40:33
SPEAKER_02: Or like you know, maybe he looked at the first page or second page and was like, Yeah, they're they're fine.
• 40:38
SPEAKER_02: Like, and so right away she just goes and like accuses her friend.
• 40:44
SPEAKER_02: You didn't even and and yes, she turned out to be right, but you didn't even give your friend the chance to explain herself.
• 40:51
SPEAKER_02: You didn't even ask her, you just went over there and accused her.
• 40:55
SPEAKER_00: So that's- she was right, but still, I agree.
• 40:58
SPEAKER_00: Right, but you didn't know you were right, you didn't know exactly because he's that typical slimy.
• 41:04
SPEAKER_00: I can my initial reaction would have been like, okay, you're a jerk.
• 41:09
  SPEAKER_00: You know, I I I don't know.
• 41:12
SPEAKER_00: I think I would have but she also knows her friend.
• 41:16
  SPEAKER_02: That's true.
• 41:17
  SPEAKER_02: That is true.
• 41:19
SPEAKER_02: I forgot who said this line.
• 41:20
  SPEAKER_02: I wrote it down.
• 41:21
SPEAKER_02: I think I think it was Carla.
• 41:26
SPEAKER_02: Because um, she says about the drama, and then she said, one day it's gonna bite you in the ass hard.
• 41:36
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I was thinking about when that happened, I was thinking about the point you that you made when she made that flippant comment.
• 41:45
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know, I'm gonna be alive in 20 years.
• 41:47
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 41:48
SPEAKER_00: I still think it's a red herring, the flippant comments.
• 41:53
SPEAKER_02: But but that's see, but it's those stupid little throwaway comments that if you catch them, it it lends credibility to the let's not reveal Jenna, even if she's not in the coffin.
• 42:10
  SPEAKER_00: It's so obvious that it's it's it's it's the right way.
• 42:13
SPEAKER_02: Because it really because it really could go either way.
• 42:16
SPEAKER_02: It could be like, oh, that's so it's so obvious that it's not gonna be her, but then they're not revealing her, so then you start thinking, but is it her?
• 42:23
SPEAKER_02: Because they're throwing away, but then is so it's it's got that nice.
• 42:29
  SPEAKER_02: Is it too obvious?
• 42:30
SPEAKER_02: Is it not obvious enough?
• 42:32
SPEAKER_02: Is it too obvious that it's not obvious?
• 42:35
SPEAKER_00: Like, yes, and it'd be they're making it so obvious that you don't think that it is, and then boom, we're shocked when it actually is, right?
• 42:42
SPEAKER_02: Yes, um Will goes and tries to talk to Sam, and she's like, Oh, I was confused.
• 42:52
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, Yeah, because you always kiss people when you're confused.
• 42:55
SPEAKER_02: Like, also, I don't know how many confused people come and kiss you like that, but I I don't have that occur in my daily life, so I'm not sure what I wouldn't know.
• 43:04
SPEAKER_02: Am I doing something wrong?
• 43:05
SPEAKER_02: Can Jason Momoa be confused and come find me?
• 43:07
  SPEAKER_02: I'll help him.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_02: Jason, if you're out there, Mr.
• 43:11
SPEAKER_02: Momoa, I'll I will help you with whatever confusion for the low, low price of one kiss.
• 43:19
  SPEAKER_02: Cheek, cheek.
• 43:22
SPEAKER_02: And she mentions again that she was confused because of yesterday, he's like, Okay, well, that's the second time that you talked about yesterday.
• 43:29
  SPEAKER_02: So what happened?
• 43:30
  SPEAKER_02: And she doesn't answer.
• 43:31
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, you know what?
• 43:33
SPEAKER_02: I was in love with you once, blah, blah, blah.
• 43:35
SPEAKER_02: I'm done now, and he walks away.
• 43:37
SPEAKER_02: Have you noticed that he's gotten a lot more yelly this episode?
• 43:44
SPEAKER_00: He's probably tired of her bullshit.
• 43:46
SPEAKER_00: This that I think the stress of being the informant.
• 43:50
  SPEAKER_02: But you know what?
• 43:51
SPEAKER_02: Is he really tired of her bullshit?
• 43:53
SPEAKER_02: Because we're gonna get to that.
• 43:54
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 43:55
SPEAKER_02: He keeps telling her he is.
• 43:56
  SPEAKER_00: He isn't.
• 43:57
SPEAKER_00: I think it's the guilt and the the working with FBI and having that over your head, and he's just like he's at his wit's end.
• 44:04
SPEAKER_02: He keeps telling her about how he's done and blah, blah, blah, and blah, blah, blah.
• 44:09
SPEAKER_02: And yet I think he's more mad at himself.
• 44:13
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 44:14
SPEAKER_02: Because the test re the test results show that was a lie.
• 44:17
  SPEAKER_00: That was a lie.
• 44:18
SPEAKER_00: I think he's more mad at himself with still being affected by her.
• 44:24
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_00: So I've been in that position where I'm like, damn it, you're a dumbass.
• 44:31
SPEAKER_00: And you take it out on the person that you're obsessed with.
• 44:34
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 44:35
  SPEAKER_02: Carla's sitting down.
• 44:37
SPEAKER_02: Aaron goes to check on her.
• 44:40
SPEAKER_02: And Carla mentions something about him and his pregnant girlfriend.
• 44:44
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, what the fuck are you talking about?
• 44:45
SPEAKER_02: Like, actually, she broke up with me.
• 44:47
SPEAKER_00: And she's not even here.
• 44:50
  SPEAKER_02: She, yeah.
• 44:50
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 44:51
SPEAKER_02: She's just a fake girlfriend back at the hotel, you know?
• 44:55
SPEAKER_02: And Carla's like, that's the best news I've heard.
• 44:58
SPEAKER_02: Let's go back to the loft.
• 45:00
SPEAKER_01: I chuckled at that one.
• 45:04
SPEAKER_02: So for the friends who have stayed at the rehearsal dinner, it's now time for the toast.
• 45:10
SPEAKER_02: Will is giving the speech and the feds come in to arrest Russell.
• 45:15
  SPEAKER_00: What?
• 45:15
  SPEAKER_00: Was it just weird?
• 45:16
SPEAKER_00: I get how he sees them coming in, and Will is trying to like not make it so weird, but so he's still giving the speech.
• 45:25
SPEAKER_00: But giving the speech makes it all weird.
• 45:28
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, most people who are shocked would just like trail off and be like, what's going on here?
• 45:35
  SPEAKER_00: What's going on?
• 45:36
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 45:37
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the whole thing would just, I cringed.
• 45:40
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 45:41
SPEAKER_02: And and they're all just kind of like, wait, like, trying to like listen to his half-assed speech that that's kind of broken up sentences.
• 45:49
SPEAKER_02: Watching what the fuck is going on with Russell?
• 45:51
SPEAKER_02: Who are these guys that came in?
• 45:54
SPEAKER_02: And then Will gives it finishes his speech and it's like, what's going on here?
• 46:00
SPEAKER_02: And they're like, Thank you, Mr.
• 46:01
  SPEAKER_02: Malloy.
• 46:01
SPEAKER_02: Thank you for your part.
• 46:03
  SPEAKER_00: He was so petty.
• 46:05
SPEAKER_00: He did not have to do that.
• 46:06
  SPEAKER_02: And that was yeah.
• 46:08
SPEAKER_02: And not only that, first of all, Will, you should have minded your fucking business.
• 46:12
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 46:13
SPEAKER_02: You should have stayed the fuck out and then and then just like asked Craig later, like, what happened?
• 46:19
SPEAKER_02: But also, like, and maybe we didn't know this so much back in 1989.
• 46:24
SPEAKER_02: But let's be honest, okay?
• 46:26
SPEAKER_02: We all know that, yes, even though Will did help them, or at least that's what we've been led to believe, you can't trust the cops like that.
• 46:36
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 46:36
SPEAKER_02: How many times do you watch the procedurals, right?
• 46:40
SPEAKER_02: And we're and they're like, well, you might as well help us because we're gonna go back and tell your homies that you did if you don't.
• 46:46
  SPEAKER_02: Like, right.
• 46:47
SPEAKER_02: If you if you do help us, we won't tell them.
• 46:49
SPEAKER_02: But if you don't help us, we're gonna tell all of your homies about how you snitched.
• 46:55
SPEAKER_02: So how do you how does Russell know, quote, my my little quotes, that maybe they're just saying that because obviously they knew who Will was.
• 47:05
SPEAKER_02: Will admitted that they did come try to talk to him.
• 47:08
SPEAKER_02: And even if they didn't, you know that the feds know everybody who works in that firm.
• 47:12
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 47:13
SPEAKER_02: So how do you know that they're not just being like assholes?
• 47:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 47:17
  SPEAKER_02: They're the right.
• 47:18
SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're not, because he did help them, but but no, you don't know.
• 47:22
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 47:22
SPEAKER_02: And he's like, I knew it was you.
• 47:25
SPEAKER_02: And Craig, Craig, oh, I love this part.
• 47:28
  SPEAKER_02: Can I tell you?
• 47:29
  SPEAKER_02: Craig is big mad.
• 47:31
SPEAKER_02: Okay, he is so fucking pissed at his friend, and he's like, How could you do this to me?
• 47:35
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'm sorry, Craig.
• 47:37
SPEAKER_02: Are you not a fan of karma?
• 47:39
  SPEAKER_02: Because karma don't give a fuck.
• 47:41
  SPEAKER_02: This is your doing.
• 47:43
SPEAKER_02: This is directly your fault.
• 47:46
SPEAKER_00: You and your father's fault, because you guys said this all in motion.
• 47:54
SPEAKER_02: Because of the crime that he admitted for you.
• 47:59
SPEAKER_02: So now, because of his criminal criminal history, the feds have him right over their lap.
• 48:11
SPEAKER_02: Will had to bend the fuck over because of what you asked him to do.
• 48:16
SPEAKER_02: And you don't like it.
• 48:18
  SPEAKER_02: You don't like it?
• 48:19
  SPEAKER_02: Oh fucking well.
• 48:21
  SPEAKER_02: Karma, don't give a fuck.
• 48:24
  SPEAKER_02: Get over it.
• 48:26
  SPEAKER_00: Honey.
• 48:27
SPEAKER_00: She said what she said.
• 48:28
  SPEAKER_02: Yes, I did.
• 48:30
SPEAKER_02: So we leave from Craig being big mad to go back to the present day, where the detective wants to know why Craig is covering for Will, and Craig schools his ass big time.
• 48:41
SPEAKER_02: He says, if you test the blood on the passenger side of the Porsche, whose blood do you think you'll find?
• 48:50
SPEAKER_02: And the detective realizes, and Craig is like, Yeah, I've been covering for him because he took the rap.
• 48:56
SPEAKER_02: And the detective is like, You got away with murder this whole time.
• 49:00
SPEAKER_02: And you've been having a hard on for the wrong guy this whole time.
• 49:04
SPEAKER_02: And then Craig starts pulling himself up the steps of the pool, and then some guy comes in the background with a wheelchair, and oh look, Craig is in a wheelchair.
• 49:17
SPEAKER_02: And Craig tells him, if it's justice you want for the guilty party, you got your wish.
• 49:24
SPEAKER_02: I guess him being paralyzed is justice in his world, but maybe it is, I don't know.
• 49:31
  SPEAKER_00: You know what?
• 49:33
SPEAKER_00: If he if it happened, it wouldn't be exactly justice.
• 49:36
SPEAKER_00: But if that happened because of a car accident.
• 49:40
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I thought about that too.
• 49:42
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 49:42
  SPEAKER_02: That that might be.
• 49:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 49:45
SPEAKER_02: Back in back in 89, Craig and Sam are trying to figure out what to do because of like the wedding, the arrest, Will.
• 49:53
SPEAKER_02: Sam thinks they should postpone.
• 49:54
SPEAKER_02: Craig is like, no, we should get married.
• 49:57
SPEAKER_02: Carla and Aaron are having uh an awkward morning after encounter.
• 50:03
SPEAKER_02: They're like, oh, it was perfect.
• 50:06
SPEAKER_02: And Aaron is like, you should come to Prague with me.
• 50:10
SPEAKER_02: And she says no, because somewhere in her scenario, he's gonna want to chase German tourists to Budapest.
• 50:17
  SPEAKER_02: So she says no.
• 50:19
SPEAKER_02: Um Roxette starts singing in the background, listen to your heart, which I I love Roxette, also, can we say?
• 50:29
SPEAKER_02: And then it finishes off the scene of Carla and Aaron, and we move on to the church.
• 50:35
SPEAKER_02: Everyone is arriving for the wedding.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_02: We see Will at home packing some duffel bags, and he's in his car, and he's parked outside the church.
• 50:44
SPEAKER_02: He is not in wedding attire, however.
• 50:47
SPEAKER_02: He's got his little jumpsuit on.
• 50:50
SPEAKER_00: He's not going to the wedding.
• 50:53
SPEAKER_02: We see Craig handing the ring to Aaron.
• 50:57
SPEAKER_02: I guess he's been promoted to best of promoted.
• 51:01
SPEAKER_02: And Carla is helping Sam get ready.
• 51:04
SPEAKER_02: Does she not have family?
• 51:06
SPEAKER_02: Why are we not seeing like a mom, a sister, a dad, the rehearsal dinner?
• 51:11
SPEAKER_00: They don't talk about her family at all.
• 51:14
SPEAKER_00: Everyone's family has at least been brought up somehow, somehow.
• 51:18
  SPEAKER_00: Hers hasn't.
• 51:19
  SPEAKER_00: That's interesting.
• 51:22
  SPEAKER_00: I wonder that's a is that if that's a reason.
• 51:24
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 51:25
  SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's her wedding day.
• 51:27
SPEAKER_02: You'd think that if she had a mom, her mom Any family members.
• 51:32
  SPEAKER_02: Right?
• 51:33
SPEAKER_02: Like maybe she doesn't have a sister.
• 51:35
SPEAKER_02: But unless she's an only child, so there like she didn't even have a brother to walk down the aisle.
• 51:43
  SPEAKER_02: Nothing about her.
• 51:44
SPEAKER_02: Right because Jenna, Jenna walked down alone, presumably because Will was missing.
• 51:50
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 51:51
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't I don't know for sure, but you know, it's weird that everyone's family at one point, everyone's family has been brought in at one point in time.
• 52:00
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, even on the peripheral.
• 52:01
SPEAKER_02: Like we don't we never see Will's dad, but like we've seen Will's dad.
• 52:04
SPEAKER_02: Like we know he exists.
• 52:06
  SPEAKER_00: Their parents leaving.
• 52:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 52:09
  SPEAKER_02: We haven't seen Jenna's mom.
• 52:10
  SPEAKER_02: We've seen Carla's dad.
• 52:12
  SPEAKER_02: We haven't seen Aaron's parents.
• 52:14
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's another one.
• 52:15
SPEAKER_02: But at the same time, what has Aaron done that would necessitate us seeing his parents?
• 52:22
  SPEAKER_02: Nothing.
• 52:23
  SPEAKER_00: They're not part of a storyline.
• 52:25
  SPEAKER_00: There's nothing.
• 52:26
  SPEAKER_02: But oh my god.
• 52:27
SPEAKER_02: But this is Sam's wedding day.
• 52:30
SPEAKER_00: Do you think that's part of the storyline?
• 52:32
SPEAKER_00: Like it might be like 20.
• 52:33
SPEAKER_00: I think that has to be.
• 52:34
SPEAKER_02: I think it would have to be because this is such a huge event to not have your family.
• 52:40
SPEAKER_02: And this is not like sitcom wedding where like at the office, it's like, oh, the office shows up, but like all of a sudden, like, who are all these people that we've never seen before?
• 52:51
SPEAKER_02: But like your family isn't there, but you know what I mean?
• 52:54
SPEAKER_00: You don't think about it.
• 52:55
  SPEAKER_00: I have a oh I don't want to forget.
• 52:58
SPEAKER_00: I have a thought about the whole series and stuff in 20 years that we talked about last episode.
• 53:03
SPEAKER_02: So do you want to say it now or hold on, I'll write a note.
• 53:08
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, so I I'm a little like suspicious of Sam's family or lack of family.
• 53:15
  SPEAKER_00: I concur.
• 53:17
SPEAKER_02: Will enters the church to look for Sam.
• 53:20
SPEAKER_02: On his way, he fights Craig.
• 53:22
SPEAKER_02: Craig at this point has it all figured out.
• 53:25
SPEAKER_02: It only took you four fucking years.
• 53:27
SPEAKER_00: I really thought he already knew.
• 53:29
SPEAKER_00: I thought he knew, but I thought he knew.
• 53:32
SPEAKER_02: But like you started to get this hunch in 1987 and it's now 1989.
• 53:38
SPEAKER_02: You should have gotten there by now.
• 53:40
  SPEAKER_02: Okay?
• 53:41
SPEAKER_02: Like you should have had it figured out by 1987.
• 53:45
SPEAKER_02: Like you started to suspect you should have kept going.
• 53:49
SPEAKER_02: Especially after all that Will showing up at the loft and looking for Sam and blah blah blah.
• 53:56
SPEAKER_02: Buddy, had you not figured this out.
• 53:58
  SPEAKER_02: But alright.
• 54:00
  SPEAKER_02: Anyway, Will yells more.
• 54:03
SPEAKER_02: He pushes Craig down, and then he goes to the room where Sam is and locks himself in with her.
• 54:09
SPEAKER_02: Craig beats up on the door.
• 54:12
SPEAKER_02: Will is asking Sam to run away with him.
• 54:15
SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, this dude is literally pounding on that door so hard that you think at any second it's going to fracture.
• 54:24
SPEAKER_02: The whole church can hear, because he's yelling too.
• 54:29
SPEAKER_02: The whole church is just there clutching their fucking imaginary pearls.
• 54:33
SPEAKER_00: I just know if Carla and Jenna, if it was like our friends group and we hear that, we're going running.
• 54:39
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 54:40
SPEAKER_00: And the fact that they didn't kind of like blew my mind.
• 54:43
  SPEAKER_02: No one got up.
• 54:44
  SPEAKER_02: No one bothered.
• 54:45
SPEAKER_02: Everyone was just like, oh my word, what is that noise?
• 54:49
SPEAKER_02: Like, it's a fucking dude pounding and yelling on a door while you're at church for a wedding.
• 54:55
  SPEAKER_02: Something like me of.
• 54:57
SPEAKER_00: I can I get like the guests just sitting there, but like the people who are like the wedding party?
• 55:02
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 55:03
  SPEAKER_02: Like Sam's mom.
• 55:06
SPEAKER_02: I mean, could you imagine could you imagine if it was your kid in that room and somebody is if your kid is even in that same building and someone is yelling like that, the first thing I'm gonna do is where is my kid?
• 55:24
SPEAKER_02: And if somebody is yelling on the door to the room where my kid is, we're gonna have problems.
• 55:30
  SPEAKER_00: Open that door.
• 55:31
  SPEAKER_00: I'm I'll open every skull.
• 55:34
SPEAKER_00: Best case scenario, oh my God, some she she's sick.
• 55:38
  SPEAKER_00: She's hurt right.
• 55:40
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe she fainted.
• 55:40
SPEAKER_00: Like who not that someone's after her, but it's like, oh my god, let me none of it made sense.
• 55:46
  SPEAKER_00: The reaction.
• 55:47
  SPEAKER_00: So that was a writer's fail.
• 55:49
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
• 55:50
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry, not sorry.
• 55:51
SPEAKER_02: And I know that they kind of left it on that cliffhanger-ish because we don't get any more scenes after that.
• 55:58
  SPEAKER_00: Which is fine.
• 55:59
  SPEAKER_00: I'm okay with that.
• 56:00
SPEAKER_02: So let's let's pretend that somebody finally got off their ass and was like, let's just go make sure Sam is okay.
• 56:06
  SPEAKER_02: Um, excuse me.
• 56:10
SPEAKER_02: Present day, we cut to present day Mr.
• 56:14
SPEAKER_02: Aaron Lewis gets an envelope, no postage, so it wasn't mailed.
• 56:20
SPEAKER_02: And when he opens it, it says, I know who killed her.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_02: And then we pan to a framed photo on his desk of Jenna and Sam.
• 56:33
SPEAKER_02: That's where the episode ends.
• 56:35
SPEAKER_02: So we can now add Craig to the not dead list.
• 56:40
  SPEAKER_02: Lock it watch.
• 56:42
SPEAKER_02: Carla wore it the whole episode up until the wedding.
• 56:45
SPEAKER_02: That's the only time I didn't notice her with it.
• 56:48
  SPEAKER_02: Mmm.
• 56:50
SPEAKER_02: So we can assume that she took it off because of the she was a bridesmaid or whatever.
• 56:56
SPEAKER_02: We don't know that for a fact.
• 56:59
SPEAKER_00: Do you remember her while she Right?
• 57:01
SPEAKER_02: She could have taken it, given it to him because he was leaving.
• 57:04
  SPEAKER_02: We just don't know.
• 57:05
SPEAKER_02: We what we do know is that she didn't have it on at the wedding.
• 57:08
SPEAKER_00: I like the fact you called it Locket Watch.
• 57:10
  SPEAKER_00: Locket watch, yes.
• 57:12
SPEAKER_02: All right, what's your thought on the series that you were just saying?
• 57:15
SPEAKER_00: I know last week we were talking about 13 episodes, 20 years.
• 57:21
SPEAKER_00: How are they going, like maybe the next seven was season two?
• 57:26
SPEAKER_00: What if they only we they only recorded 13 episodes?
• 57:31
SPEAKER_00: Aired nine, recorded 13, but it was meant to be a 26.
• 57:35
SPEAKER_02: And so maybe so right, so that maybe when they canceled it, they had already aired nine, but had 13 recorded.
• 57:42
SPEAKER_00: But they still had seven more to and then they were like, well, why are we still gonna make them?
• 57:48
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 57:49
SPEAKER_02: So I thought about that too.
• 57:51
SPEAKER_00: I don't, and I'm watching, I'm like, why did I think of the obvious duh?
• 57:55
SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm like, that was the obvious, your first obvious answer.
• 57:59
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, why did I think of that first?
• 58:00
SPEAKER_02: That was your first obvious answer.
• 58:02
  SPEAKER_00: I don't mean your as you.
• 58:03
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna talk about yours as in in general.
• 58:06
SPEAKER_00: That's the first thought that you should be.
• 58:08
SPEAKER_02: Because with network TV, you didn't record the whole series in one shot.
• 58:14
SPEAKER_02: You recorded it week by week.
• 58:16
SPEAKER_00: As much as the as the network buys.
• 58:20
SPEAKER_00: Like we're gonna buy X amount of episodes.
• 58:22
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 58:23
SPEAKER_02: Because you ha you know, and you had to pace yourself.
• 58:25
  SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of scripting, editing, acting, post-production.
• 58:30
SPEAKER_02: Like, so there's a lot to be done week by week.
• 58:33
  SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
• 58:35
SPEAKER_00: There's a very good chance we'll never find out who the murderer is.
• 58:38
SPEAKER_02: Well, then you and I are gonna take a field trip to somewhere and go knock on the writer's door and be like, could you just hey give us a movie, give us a two-hour movie.
• 58:48
  SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
• 58:49
SPEAKER_02: Maybe we'll start an online petition.
• 58:54
  SPEAKER_02: I'm down with that.
• 58:57
  unknown: Yeah.
• 58:57
SPEAKER_02: And then we'll say, and also can we consult because you need a little help.
• 59:03
  SPEAKER_00: We got some issues.
• 59:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 59:04
SPEAKER_00: I would like to travel.
• 59:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's go to Canada.
• 59:08
SPEAKER_00: Well, just because they taped in Canada, they'll be the production company's.
• 59:11
  SPEAKER_00: That's true.
• 59:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 59:12
SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm willing to travel.
• 59:15
  SPEAKER_02: We'll travel for TV.
• 59:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 59:19
SPEAKER_02: I hope that it does not end with no resolution.
• 59:27
SPEAKER_02: But I guess that is a chance that we are taking.
• 59:36
SPEAKER_02: And I'll just never listen to your suggestion again.
• 59:39
SPEAKER_00: Well, the whole point of one season episodes was that one season shows is the fact that there most likely won't be a resolution.
• 59:50
  SPEAKER_02: Well, not necessarily.
• 59:51
SPEAKER_02: Some I mean some shows are intentional.
• 59:55
  SPEAKER_02: Are intentional, yeah.
• 59:56
SPEAKER_02: We could talk about the British ones.
• 59:58
SPEAKER_02: The British ones are much more intentionally written from start to finish.
• 1:00:03
SPEAKER_00: And they started doing that now, like here.
• 1:00:07
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:00:08
SPEAKER_00: We knew it was a good chance.
• 1:00:14
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:00:16
SPEAKER_02: I I think I set all my thoughts on this episode.
• 1:00:21
SPEAKER_00: I think my whole, I think my biggest thought that I had was the whole Carla ends up with Philip's guy, Paul.
• 1:00:30
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I so now before this episode, if you had to ask me where Carla's Lockett went, I definitely would have said Amy.
• 1:00:42
SPEAKER_02: And so there's still a part of me that thinks, okay, well, in the best of circumstances, right, this guy is truly an upstanding guy.
• 1:00:53
  SPEAKER_02: He's he's a good guy, right?
• 1:00:54
SPEAKER_02: He's not like, he didn't kill Megan and dump her in the East River.
• 1:00:59
SPEAKER_02: But maybe because he's a single parent now, he circumstances change and he had to do something that he thought was in the best interest of the child.
• 1:01:11
SPEAKER_02: And whatever that is, is whatever that is, right?
• 1:01:14
SPEAKER_02: Maybe they move to another city to be with family.
• 1:01:20
SPEAKER_02: Maybe they, you know what I mean?
• 1:01:22
SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm not really gonna speculate on that, but maybe that is what sparked Carla to give her the locket because she was no longer gonna have that job because of whatever happens.
• 1:01:36
  SPEAKER_02: Whatever happens.
• 1:01:37
SPEAKER_02: But you do make a good point about maybe she did give it to Aaron.
• 1:01:46
SPEAKER_02: Because she has that line where he's like, because um, after they after they have sex, he says, Oh my god, like I didn't know you were still a virgin.
• 1:01:54
SPEAKER_02: I can't believe that it took you 21 years to find the right guy.
• 1:01:58
SPEAKER_02: And she was like, It only took me 14, it took you 21, or something like that.
• 1:02:04
SPEAKER_02: And so she's obviously still totally head over heels in love with him.
• 1:02:10
SPEAKER_02: And the re the only reason she doesn't want to go to Prague with him is because she doesn't want to ruin what they had.
• 1:02:17
SPEAKER_02: So I could see her young love heart saying, Here's my locket, just you know, to keep me with you or whatever.
• 1:02:29
SPEAKER_02: And I don't know, you know, because they also had that whole thing, right, where it was like if they weren't married by the time they were whatever, they were gonna get together.
• 1:02:38
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 1:02:39
SPEAKER_02: So they've they've always had that kind of close friendship.
• 1:02:44
SPEAKER_02: So I could see her giving him the locket.
• 1:02:47
SPEAKER_02: The thing that also struck me as odd is Aaron got the letter that says I know who killed her.
• 1:02:59
SPEAKER_02: Was Aaron the only person who got that letter?
• 1:03:02
  SPEAKER_02: And why?
• 1:03:03
SPEAKER_02: Why was it so important for someone to tell Aaron that they know who killed her?
• 1:03:12
SPEAKER_02: Unless it meant something to Aaron to protect the killer.
• 1:03:18
  SPEAKER_00: Correct.
• 1:03:18
SPEAKER_02: And who would Aaron want to protect?
• 1:03:21
SPEAKER_02: In my world, it would either be Jenna or Carla.
• 1:03:25
SPEAKER_02: Like who would Aaron want to protect, right?
• 1:03:27
SPEAKER_02: If not, like if not his kid or something like that.
• 1:03:30
SPEAKER_02: But speaking of characters that we know already, I feel like it would only be, or not only be, but more likely to be Jenna or Carla.
• 1:03:41
SPEAKER_02: Because those are two people that he had a a more intimate relationship with.
• 1:03:47
SPEAKER_00: Like he was friends with Sam, but he was so in love with Jenna, and then even before and then even before they slept together, he was closer to Carla.
• 1:03:58
  SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
• 1:03:58
SPEAKER_02: So do they all get an envelope that say, I know who killed her?
• 1:04:02
SPEAKER_00: Tune in next week for the next episode.
• 1:04:05
  SPEAKER_00: A reunion.
• 1:04:07
SPEAKER_02: And there was something else, but I can't remember what it was now that that struck me.
• 1:04:13
  SPEAKER_00: Um, I have something.
• 1:04:15
SPEAKER_00: I'm curious what happens between in the 17 years between Craig's father being arrested and the detective coming to see him, what happened between him and Will for him to have Will's back?
• 1:04:29
SPEAKER_00: Like, how did their relationship Yes, you know what I'm trying to say?
• 1:04:35
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:04:35
  SPEAKER_02: No, that's a good point.
• 1:04:36
SPEAKER_02: I didn't think about that, but that's really good.
• 1:04:40
SPEAKER_02: Because how did it go from Craig wanting to rip a door off its hinges and yell at Will?
• 1:04:50
SPEAKER_00: Like he would have totally fiance.
• 1:04:54
  SPEAKER_00: It was a lie.
• 1:04:55
SPEAKER_02: If Craig had a chair, he would have smacked Will with it, like WWE, okay?
• 1:04:59
SPEAKER_02: He would have like, yeah, it would have been um a thing.
• 1:05:06
SPEAKER_02: So how do we get from that to him paralyzed?
• 1:05:11
SPEAKER_02: Well, him being in a wheelchair, and him protecting Will to the point where he's even coming clean.
• 1:05:18
SPEAKER_02: Also, I know there's no statute of limitations on murder, but could that have legal implications?
• 1:05:28
SPEAKER_02: I guess perjury has already the statute of limitations on perjury has already so they maybe they can't because it's not murder.
• 1:05:37
SPEAKER_02: It was it was manslaughter.
• 1:05:40
SPEAKER_00: And I think and it wasn't even perjury because he was never on stand.
• 1:05:44
SPEAKER_00: So he can't get him from perjury.
• 1:05:45
SPEAKER_02: Well, no, but Will could be charged with perjury.
• 1:05:49
SPEAKER_00: Oh, Will can be, yes.
• 1:05:50
SPEAKER_02: Considering that Craig is trying to cover for Will now.
• 1:05:54
SPEAKER_02: So what has made Craig willing to step up?
• 1:05:59
SPEAKER_02: And does he s have something in his back pocket that he feels that will protect him against?
• 1:06:05
SPEAKER_02: I mean, aside from being a congressman, because I feel like then it's more so you wouldn't want any of this shit to come out.
• 1:06:12
SPEAKER_02: But what does he have in his back pocket that makes him feel invincible to further consequences?
• 1:06:19
SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
• 1:06:20
SPEAKER_02: Like you wouldn't just volunteer that information.
• 1:06:23
SPEAKER_02: And and why now, Craig?
• 1:06:24
SPEAKER_02: Like it's been 20 years, why now?
• 1:06:27
SPEAKER_00: I think whoever was killed, I think most in my head this 20 years of their relationships evolving and all that stuff, but I think the murder superseded all the drama and brought them back together as a group in my head.
• 1:06:46
SPEAKER_02: No, I could believe that.
• 1:06:49
  SPEAKER_02: I don't think that that's a crazy theory.
• 1:06:51
  SPEAKER_02: I think that that's a realistic theory.
• 1:06:53
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, thank you.
• 1:06:54
  SPEAKER_02: You're welcome.
• 1:06:55
  SPEAKER_02: What about the wedding?
• 1:06:57
SPEAKER_00: What do you oh I had to Google it?
• 1:07:00
SPEAKER_00: The statute of limitations for vehicular manslaughter varies, but generally falls within a time frame of six years from the date of the incident.
• 1:07:10
SPEAKER_00: So that's when he said the statute that's like, you know, the statute of limitations he can't.
• 1:07:17
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I and even perjury, I think, is only like nine years.
• 1:07:21
  SPEAKER_00: Only nine years.
• 1:07:22
SPEAKER_00: Vehicular manslaughter, six, manslaughter, our justice system is always on the ball.
• 1:07:28
  SPEAKER_00: So right.
• 1:07:29
SPEAKER_00: So he did actually say that.
• 1:07:30
SPEAKER_00: He goes, no, limit the statute, the statute of limitation is over.
• 1:07:35
SPEAKER_00: So I think he actually said that now that I'm thinking about it.
• 1:07:38
  SPEAKER_02: No, I didn't catch that.
• 1:07:39
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I'm I mean, I'm sure that the statute of limitations is way past because 20 years is a long time for for that.
• 1:07:48
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't even So he really wasn't giving, he really wasn't No, he wasn't he wasn't necessarily putting himself on the line.
• 1:07:58
SPEAKER_02: But as a congressman, I mean, would you really want things like that about your past to come out?
• 1:08:04
  SPEAKER_02: That's the problem.
• 1:08:05
SPEAKER_00: If he if he was if he didn't care anymore, if he's like, okay, I'm out anyway, or I'm I ain't planning.
• 1:08:10
SPEAKER_00: He might even be a congressman anymore.
• 1:08:12
SPEAKER_00: Because once you're a congressman, you're still called congressman or congresswoman.
• 1:08:15
  SPEAKER_02: That's true, that's true.
• 1:08:16
SPEAKER_02: So at this point Maybe the judge found that the real thing, and the judge shot him in the leg so that he can't walk.
• 1:08:24
  SPEAKER_00: Walk.
• 1:08:25
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, that works.
• 1:08:26
  SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't be surprised.
• 1:08:29
SPEAKER_00: Like Craig is coming up being the upstanding person when he once you break it down, he really has nothing to lose.
• 1:08:37
SPEAKER_00: Like if we watch more episodes, we're like, oh, he had nothing to lose.
• 1:08:44
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:08:45
  SPEAKER_00: Thanks.
• 1:08:46
SPEAKER_00: Or maybe it was just a point of getting it.
• 1:08:49
SPEAKER_00: It wasn't about putting anything on the line, more by just sticking into the detective's face.
• 1:08:55
  SPEAKER_02: No, right.
• 1:08:56
SPEAKER_02: I think that the whole thing was him sticking into the detective.
• 1:08:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm talking out.
• 1:08:59
  SPEAKER_00: I'm like a spitwork.
• 1:09:01
SPEAKER_02: But I think that it's it's not, it's something that we have to be aware of that our words have consequences.
• 1:09:08
SPEAKER_02: So you may be sticking into the detective to be like, nah, nah nah nah nah, it was me.
• 1:09:13
  SPEAKER_02: It wasn't Will.
• 1:09:14
SPEAKER_02: You've been going after the wrong guy this whole time.
• 1:09:17
SPEAKER_02: But you saying and admitting that it was you, even though he he he went in a circle as a way to admit it, because he didn't actually say it.
• 1:09:28
SPEAKER_02: He just said, Oh, like What if?
• 1:09:30
SPEAKER_02: Right, like if you test the thing, you know.
• 1:09:35
SPEAKER_02: But but still putting that out there can possibly have consequences for you.
• 1:09:43
  SPEAKER_02: That's all I mean.
• 1:09:44
  SPEAKER_00: No, absolutely.
• 1:09:45
SPEAKER_00: And I think he has one, he he can't get arrested.
• 1:09:50
SPEAKER_00: He can't be charged for it.
• 1:09:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, we know that.
• 1:09:52
SPEAKER_00: Two, we don't know if he's still a congressman, so it might not make a difference.
• 1:09:57
  SPEAKER_00: Three, whatever happens.
• 1:09:58
SPEAKER_00: But even if he goes, I'm in a wheelchair.
• 1:10:00
SPEAKER_00: I think he I think in his head he has more going for him.
• 1:10:03
SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna be, it'll be on the news for one day.
• 1:10:07
SPEAKER_00: I think he's like, Yeah, I can outweigh it the same shit.
• 1:10:11
  SPEAKER_00: I got, you know.
• 1:10:12
SPEAKER_02: But even if he's still not a congressman, I mean, can you imagine the scandal?
• 1:10:16
SPEAKER_02: Former congressman, like you know.
• 1:10:18
SPEAKER_00: His father was arrested for whatever he was doing.
• 1:10:20
SPEAKER_00: I don't think he cares about scandal.
• 1:10:22
SPEAKER_00: Even though it was 20 years ago, that's still that's people know, you know.
• 1:10:26
SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you're going to when he ran for congressman at one point, it came out.
• 1:10:31
SPEAKER_02: Some people distance himself from his father because it was his father's wrongdoing.
• 1:10:36
  SPEAKER_02: It wasn't his wrongdoing.
• 1:10:37
  SPEAKER_02: This is his wrongdoing.
• 1:10:38
SPEAKER_02: And then he lied about it.
• 1:10:40
SPEAKER_00: Scandal with those type of people, it slides off a duck's back.
• 1:10:48
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:10:49
SPEAKER_02: What do you think about the wedding?
• 1:10:51
SPEAKER_02: Do you think anybody got married?
• 1:10:54
SPEAKER_02: Do you think do you think the dish ran away with the spoon?
• 1:10:59
  SPEAKER_00: I don't think they're.
• 1:11:01
SPEAKER_02: I think the cow jumped over the moon.
• 1:11:02
  SPEAKER_00: The moon.
• 1:11:03
SPEAKER_00: I the cat's in the cradle in the silver spoon.
• 1:11:06
  SPEAKER_02: Definitely.
• 1:11:07
SPEAKER_00: Little boy blue and the man and the moon.
• 1:11:09
  SPEAKER_02: Yep.
• 1:11:10
SPEAKER_02: When you cut the home sun.
• 1:11:13
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know when.
• 1:11:14
  SPEAKER_02: It's okay, we'll get together then.
• 1:11:17
SPEAKER_00: We have a whole generation of people listening, like, what the fuck?
• 1:11:20
SPEAKER_00: Um so um I don't think they ran.
• 1:11:25
SPEAKER_00: I don't think the spoon ran off of the plate or the, but I don't think they ran off the dish.
• 1:11:30
  SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
• 1:11:31
SPEAKER_00: I don't think the wedding happened, and I don't think they ran off together.
• 1:11:36
SPEAKER_02: I feel like the wedding probably didn't happen.
• 1:11:40
SPEAKER_02: I don't think Sam ran off with Will.
• 1:11:45
  SPEAKER_02: I don't think Sam chose Craig.
• 1:11:48
SPEAKER_02: I think she has still has more of their lives to fuck up collectively and separately.
• 1:11:54
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 1:11:55
SPEAKER_00: You do that when you're not married.
• 1:11:57
SPEAKER_02: So apology kiss if she's married.
• 1:12:06
  SPEAKER_02: So correct.
• 1:12:08
  SPEAKER_02: All right.
• 1:12:10
SPEAKER_02: So she's like on the same page.
• 1:12:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:12:13
  SPEAKER_00: Finally.
• 1:12:14
SPEAKER_02: I I would be surprised though if we go into 1990 and find out that somebody got married.
• 1:12:20
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, maybe, ready?
• 1:12:22
SPEAKER_02: Maybe, and don't don't start blinking your eyes at me, okay?
• 1:12:25
SPEAKER_02: But maybe since they were like, well, we're, you know what?
• 1:12:30
SPEAKER_02: None of us are getting married.
• 1:12:31
  SPEAKER_02: Sam and Craig, they're they're there.
• 1:12:34
  SPEAKER_02: Will is running away.
• 1:12:35
SPEAKER_02: And Aaron and Carla are like, well, since we got a church and a priest, do you want to just be rehearsing?
• 1:12:43
SPEAKER_02: Because remember they were like, oh, well, I don't know if I'm not if I'm ready for marriage and all that, but we can rehearse.
• 1:12:49
SPEAKER_02: So maybe last night was enough of a rehearsal, and they're like, well, you know, we're here.
• 1:12:53
SPEAKER_02: Nobody else is using a priest.
• 1:12:55
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 1:12:58
SPEAKER_02: Might as well get some use out of him.
• 1:13:00
SPEAKER_00: We don't want a wedding to go to waste.
• 1:13:02
  SPEAKER_02: We've got a whole wedding here.
• 1:13:04
SPEAKER_02: And since Sam doesn't even have a family to invite, it doesn't even matter.
• 1:13:08
  SPEAKER_02: Because you know what?
• 1:13:11
  SPEAKER_02: I co-sign that.
• 1:13:13
  SPEAKER_02: I'm down.
• 1:13:14
SPEAKER_02: That would be the that would be like such a fun twist if it was like That's so friends-esque to have.
• 1:13:27
SPEAKER_02: I mean, as it is, it was very like uh Frasier-ish because you know when um when they're gonna when Daphne is gonna marry Donnie.
• 1:13:37
SPEAKER_02: Yes, and then she just she goes into the RV and tries to run away with Naz, but they only get to the end of the in the driveway.
• 1:13:48
SPEAKER_02: So, you know, she Sam, she might get to the trunk of Will's car and then it's like, nah, I don't know.
• 1:13:56
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, anyway.
• 1:13:58
  SPEAKER_02: Anyway, 1990 is next.
• 1:14:01
  SPEAKER_02: We're gonna go to the 90s.
• 1:14:03
  SPEAKER_02: We're making it to the 90s.
• 1:14:05
SPEAKER_02: Will we make it to the arts though?
• 1:14:08
SPEAKER_02: Will the show give us that much?
• 1:14:10
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 1:14:11
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 1:14:13
  SPEAKER_02: And I'm not looking.
• 1:14:13
  SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna look.
• 1:14:14
SPEAKER_02: I mean we're just gonna have to find out the hard way.
• 1:14:17
SPEAKER_00: To be fair, I think the good thing about me having like squirrel brains sometimes is that after we record, I forget completely until it's time for me time for us to record again, then I watch the next episode.
• 1:14:32
SPEAKER_00: So I don't even have the wherewithal or the desire or the memory to try to like, oh, what's gonna happen?
• 1:14:42
SPEAKER_00: Because I'm like, oh right, I have a show to watch.
• 1:14:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:14:47
SPEAKER_00: So aren't you glad that I have like woo-hoop scroll brain?
• 1:14:51
SPEAKER_02: Do you think that we're gonna find, like, get another not dead character next week?
• 1:14:55
SPEAKER_02: Because if we get another one, then I mean it's not like a hundred percent, but it's pretty safe to assume, right?
• 1:15:03
SPEAKER_02: By process of elimination, I played Clue last night.
• 1:15:05
SPEAKER_02: Um, who's in the coffin?
• 1:15:08
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I remember the conversation that we spoke about earlier.
• 1:15:12
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 1:15:13
SPEAKER_00: I remember thinking that they weren't gonna give it to us this week because they were trying to stretch it out.
• 1:15:18
SPEAKER_02: Well, you did say that too.
• 1:15:20
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:15:20
SPEAKER_00: Now next week, I But but then you said Jenna.
• 1:15:25
SPEAKER_02: Because I agreed with you that it would be better to stretch it out and we don't get a new character.
• 1:15:30
SPEAKER_00: I'm remembering the conversation bit by bit now.
• 1:15:33
  SPEAKER_02: Maybe the episodes.
• 1:15:35
SPEAKER_02: Yes, it's beautiful middle finger you have.
• 1:15:38
SPEAKER_00: I'll just dip my nails.
• 1:15:40
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the better to give you the bird with.
• 1:15:44
SPEAKER_00: I'm fancy when I crush people out.
• 1:15:46
  SPEAKER_00: Um elegant.
• 1:15:49
SPEAKER_02: Do I think, you know, and I feel like next week it might be the week.
• 1:15:54
  SPEAKER_02: I think we will.
• 1:15:56
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, you think?
• 1:15:57
SPEAKER_02: I think next week might be the week that we don't get.
• 1:16:00
SPEAKER_00: Wow, I think just based on what's been happening so far, they they might continue with that pattern.
• 1:16:06
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 1:16:08
SPEAKER_02: Or it's gonna be like the red herring of all red herrings.
• 1:16:13
SPEAKER_02: We're gonna get another character, and then the next week we're gonna get another one.
• 1:16:17
SPEAKER_02: And we're gonna be like, what?
• 1:16:19
SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be like, it's gonna feel like we're gonna be.
• 1:16:21
SPEAKER_00: Well, there's only two more.
• 1:16:23
  SPEAKER_02: I know.
• 1:16:23
  SPEAKER_02: That's my point.
• 1:16:24
SPEAKER_02: It's gonna feel like lost through the looking glass, where it's like, we have to go back, and you're like, what the fuck?
• 1:16:30
  unknown: Oh.
• 1:16:31
SPEAKER_02: We're we're like your whole everything you knew about the world was just shattered.
• 1:16:36
SPEAKER_02: Like, throw it out, get a new one.
• 1:16:38
  SPEAKER_02: Because what is happening?
• 1:16:42
SPEAKER_02: So it's like, if the next episode we get Sam, then the next episode we're gonna get Jenna.
• 1:16:46
SPEAKER_02: And it's gonna be like, wait.
• 1:16:48
SPEAKER_02: What they said one of them was dead, damn it.
• 1:16:51
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:16:52
  SPEAKER_02: So it's like I had that's my prediction.
• 1:16:54
SPEAKER_02: Either next week we're not gonna get one, or if we get one, then the next week we're getting the next one.
• 1:17:01
SPEAKER_02: I feel like they're not just gonna give it to us that easy.
• 1:17:04
  SPEAKER_02: And nor should they.
• 1:17:05
SPEAKER_02: They want people to keep watching.
• 1:17:08
SPEAKER_00: Um, even if they do give us the murder victim, they still gonna stretch out who actually did it.
• 1:17:16
  SPEAKER_00: Well, obviously.
• 1:17:18
SPEAKER_00: I that being said, I still believe I would have liked the series more if they gave me just a little bit more present-day scenes as far as who did it and a little bit more into the investigation.
• 1:17:37
SPEAKER_00: Just a little bit, I mean, not enough to take away for the purpose of this of the series, like you talk about the friends and the relationship, just a little bit more to make it like a little bit give us more intrigue.
• 1:17:49
SPEAKER_02: Well, I think that they definitely did better with the present day in this episode.
• 1:17:55
  SPEAKER_00: Correct.
• 1:17:55
  SPEAKER_00: I I concur.
• 1:17:56
SPEAKER_02: It felt more substantial that they they didn't use it.
• 1:18:04
SPEAKER_02: So for me, I don't care if they use it more, they use it less.
• 1:18:08
SPEAKER_02: But I think that the how to do it.
• 1:18:11
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 1:18:11
SPEAKER_02: So for the amount that they used it, I think they used it really well.
• 1:18:15
SPEAKER_02: They gave us a nice little recap so that we can remember the details, like, you know, oh, that there was no sign of an intruder, so it had to be someone who who knew because it was no force entry, things like that.
• 1:18:26
SPEAKER_02: And then the scenes that he did with Craig, uh, what's so the word?
• 1:18:34
SPEAKER_02: Um not exploratory, like your brain is shutting down on me.
• 1:18:40
SPEAKER_02: Um my brain is shutting down on you.
• 1:18:45
  SPEAKER_02: That's contagious.
• 1:18:47
SPEAKER_02: Oh hanging out with you.
• 1:18:49
  SPEAKER_02: Expositional.
• 1:18:51
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:18:52
SPEAKER_02: So his scenes with Craig gave us meat, but without a lot of fat.
• 1:19:02
  SPEAKER_02: Right?
• 1:19:03
SPEAKER_02: It was like, I'm sticking up for Will.
• 1:19:05
SPEAKER_02: He's the best friend that I ever had, which when you compare it to the 1989, it's that dichotomy, like, but in 1989 they wanted to kill each other.
• 1:19:16
SPEAKER_02: Like they left off wanting to like kill each other, and now he's sticking up for him.
• 1:19:21
SPEAKER_02: So either they really just gotta stick together to protect whoever killed whoever else, or what happened in the meantime, which really makes you feel like, oh, now I'm curious about how they got from there to here.
• 1:19:36
SPEAKER_00: And really think it's a combination of both.
• 1:19:38
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, evolutionary relationship, but then that murder is like, whoa, yeah, like Saran wrap.
• 1:19:44
SPEAKER_02: But but whatever, whatever is the answer is where the intrigue lies.
• 1:19:50
SPEAKER_02: Because you have to get from 1989 to 2006, and what happened in that time.
• 1:19:57
SPEAKER_02: So you now you're like, oh, and he's in a wheelchair, and he's a congressman.
• 1:20:01
SPEAKER_02: So it's like, oh, what happened?
• 1:20:04
  SPEAKER_02: How did that happen?
• 1:20:04
  SPEAKER_02: Where did that happen?
• 1:20:05
  SPEAKER_02: Why did that happen?
• 1:20:07
SPEAKER_02: So there's a lot of a lot in that little scene that I think was missing from the previous couple of episodes.
• 1:20:16
SPEAKER_00: It makes me want to go back and watch the next one.
• 1:20:19
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:20:20
  SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
• 1:20:20
  SPEAKER_02: For sure.
• 1:20:21
  SPEAKER_00: I agree.
• 1:20:22
  SPEAKER_00: I totally agree.
• 1:20:23
SPEAKER_00: I still don't know if I still don't know if I would have continued watching it do the initial airing.
• 1:20:33
  SPEAKER_02: I definitely would have.
• 1:20:35
SPEAKER_02: Especially like if I had and if I had still watched it up until this episode, I definitely would have kept going.
• 1:20:42
SPEAKER_00: I think I would have been watching it, but I wouldn't be like, okay, I got I don't think I'll be like, it would've been like my gray's anatomy.
• 1:20:49
SPEAKER_00: Like it wouldn't be like I have to watch this.
• 1:20:51
SPEAKER_00: I think it was like, okay, it's on, I'm home, let's watch it.
• 1:20:53
SPEAKER_00: You know what I does that make sense?
• 1:20:55
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it does, but I guess for me, I when I watch, I watch.
• 1:21:01
SPEAKER_02: I don't like to miss stuff because if I'm gonna watch something, I'm just gonna I'm gonna watch it.
• 1:21:06
SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna I wanna take it all in.
• 1:21:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm easily like if nine times out of ten, either I love it or I hate it.
• 1:21:14
  SPEAKER_00: If I don't, if I hate it, I'm done.
• 1:21:16
  SPEAKER_00: Bye.
• 1:21:17
  SPEAKER_00: Um and I don't hate that, I don't hate this.
• 1:21:20
SPEAKER_02: That's why that's why I still would have watched it, but it wouldn't I'll find myself getting distracted with something that completely doesn't interest me.
• 1:21:28
SPEAKER_02: So let's say Alex is watching like anime.
• 1:21:32
SPEAKER_02: I'm just not into anime.
• 1:21:34
SPEAKER_02: I'm I'll look up, I'll see what he's watching, but it's not like I mean it's not necessarily anime.
• 1:21:44
SPEAKER_02: Just put fill in that sentence, that that blank with whatever, right?
• 1:21:49
SPEAKER_02: That doesn't interest you per se.
• 1:21:51
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 1:21:51
SPEAKER_02: But if something interests me even the least, where I'm going to put it on for myself, I'm gonna watch it.
• 1:21:58
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:21:59
SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I would still sit there and I would still watch this.
• 1:22:03
SPEAKER_02: I may not be like, oh my god, I need the next episode right this second.
• 1:22:07
SPEAKER_02: But I would definitely still watch it.
• 1:22:09
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:22:10
SPEAKER_02: Like I wouldn't stay up until four o'clock in the morning watching this if it gotta work the next day.
• 1:22:14
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 1:22:15
SPEAKER_02: I don't need it that bad, but I'm definitely still gonna watch it the next day.
• 1:22:21
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:22:21
SPEAKER_00: I wonder how we're gonna feel about it at the end.
• 1:22:24
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
• 1:22:25
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 1:22:27
SPEAKER_02: There's been a couple of people on TikTok who, when they saw that we're doing this, they're like, oh my god, I love that show.
• 1:22:34
  SPEAKER_00: Oh cool.
• 1:22:37
  SPEAKER_02: So I hope that that's a good sign.
• 1:22:40
  SPEAKER_02: What are you doing?
• 1:22:41
SPEAKER_02: Are you putting on the next episode?
• 1:22:43
SPEAKER_00: No, I just happened, like I looked up to look at something and I saw something over my armoire.
• 1:22:49
SPEAKER_00: So I had to go back and double check to see what it was.
• 1:22:52
  SPEAKER_02: What is it?
• 1:22:53
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I must have been like a dust or something.
• 1:22:56
SPEAKER_00: I thought it was like a sp like a bug, but it wasn't.
• 1:22:59
SPEAKER_00: And then when I went back again, I realized that my plant needed water.
• 1:23:02
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 1:23:03
  SPEAKER_00: So I was like, what's that?
• 1:23:04
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, what's that?
• 1:23:05
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh wait, my plant.
• 1:23:07
  unknown: Okay.
• 1:23:08
SPEAKER_02: I'm excited for the next episode.
• 1:23:10
  SPEAKER_02: I'm excited for 1990.
• 1:23:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I yeah, I'll probably watch it once we're done and get ready for next week's episode.
• 1:23:17

• 1:23:18
  SPEAKER_00: No, I can't do that.

• 1:23:39
SPEAKER_02: And we're out of here.
• 1:23:41
  SPEAKER_00: See you later.
• 1:23:41
  SPEAKER_00: Bye.
• 1:23:51
SPEAKER_00: Okay, I can see it, but I remember those.
• 1:23:53
  SPEAKER_02: You don't remember?
• 1:23:55
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 1:23:56
SPEAKER_02: They had all different kinds.
• 1:23:58
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I can see it now, but you see, but they're small and the lips were different so that you could.
• 1:24:03
SPEAKER_00: So you can drink out of them.
• 1:24:05
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:24:07
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so now I want them.
• 1:24:09
SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, good luck finding them.
• 1:24:10
SPEAKER_00: We'll find them on eBay for one billion dollars.
• 1:24:13
  SPEAKER_02: Probably.
• 1:24:14
SPEAKER_02: Really, I should probably just go like raid my mother's attic.
• 1:24:17
SPEAKER_02: She probably has my mother's part hoarder.
• 1:24:19
SPEAKER_02: So she probably still has them.
• 1:24:21
SPEAKER_00: I think raiding like older people, like in your family's like attics and basements and stuff is the best thing ever.
• 1:24:30
SPEAKER_00: I still want to go to my grandmother's house.
• 1:24:33
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know.
• 1:24:34
SPEAKER_02: When my kids one day raid my attic, basement, garage, whatever, they're gonna find a lot of notebooks, books, board games, cross-stitching supplies, and for Alex, they're gonna find a lot of everything.
• 1:24:49
SPEAKER_02: Duffel bags and wires to things that don't exist anymore.
• 1:24:53
  SPEAKER_02: So sorry, kids.
• 1:24:55
  SPEAKER_02: Nothing good.
• 1:24:57
SPEAKER_00: My grandmother has baking stuff, and I'm sure there's someone, I'm sure there's photo albums somewhere.
• 1:25:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:25:05
SPEAKER_02: Well, those that that would be nice.
• 1:25:07
SPEAKER_02: Except we probably won't know who anybody is.
• 1:25:09
  unknown: I mean.
