- 0:01Speaker 1: I'll start to you to present Off the Bench.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is what we have been waiting for.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Off the Bench.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Now here's Jacob Hester.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Welcome back into our number three a Tuesday edition of
- 0:24Off the Bench. Taylor Sharp sitting in for Jacob Hester,
- 0:27who is out there at SEC spring meetings. In just
- 0:32a couple of minutes, we'll be joined by Nick Underhill
- 0:34of New Orleans Dot Football. There's not gonna be any
- 0:38blocking in flag football. We just figured that out as well, So, uh,
- 0:43no blocking in that. But uh again, I think me
- 0:45Elandra Cassie, we all created great flag football teams. Right now,
- 0:49speaking of football, want to be joined by Nick Underhill
- 0:52of New Orleans Dot Football. Nick, how are you this morning?
- 0:57Doing good?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Nick?
- 0:58Speaker 4: Last segment we were talking about, you know, the Olympic Committee. Okay,
- 1:02NFL players playing in flag football. What Saints player are
- 1:05we put on the flag football team?
- 1:09Speaker 5: A good question? Flag football?
- 1:13Speaker 3: Uh man.
- 1:15Speaker 5: So, I mean I think part of it is elusiveness.
- 1:19You kind of want to go to to like some
- 1:21of the quicker guys right away, and I think I
- 1:24think that matters, you know, for building the Olympic flag
- 1:27football team. Like my first side is Alvin Kamara, but
- 1:30like I don't know if he's running by anyone, and
- 1:32like the tackle balance doesn't really or contact balance doesn't
- 1:35really benefit you. Uh and the thing where they just
- 1:37got of got to pull the flag off, you know,
- 1:41books is kind of interesting. I think he's still even
- 1:44being out there at that first oka, he still looks
- 1:47like the fastest guy on the team. If he's losted
- 1:50the step, is speeder moving too faster you to be
- 1:52able to tell, because like he looks faster than the
- 1:55other receivers. But I think he has kind of more
- 1:58like straight line speed, and that's one of the reasons
- 2:00he's played on the outside more throughout his career and
- 2:03hasn't really played a ton in the slot, you know,
- 2:06because I think it's kind of more you know, straight
- 2:08line sprinter type speed as opposed to like in a
- 2:11box qut change the direction type stuff. So I'm not
- 2:15sure i'd go with him. That puts us at like
- 2:18Alave and Shaheed, I think both of them would be
- 2:21good choices. But look, I'm honestly gonna go with with
- 2:23with somebody else, and it's a little bit outside the
- 2:25box here. I think Alte Taylor might be the guy
- 2:29like that. I would want to put the ball in
- 2:30his hands in a flag football game. His hips are
- 2:34really fluid, he moves really well. You know, he's explosive
- 2:38when when you get him kind of like a little
- 2:40bit of an alley, can pick up speed really quick.
- 2:42I think that's the guy. I would take him on
- 2:44the Olympic team, and I will put him on offense,
- 2:47and I think I think that he would be a
- 2:49difference maker for for our flag football team.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I love it.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Nick.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Speaking of the New Orleans Saints, let's dive into it
- 2:56came out late last week. It was after we were
- 2:58able to have you on there. So that Jake Hayner.
- 3:01It was the oblique injury. He's out for a few weeks. Obviously,
- 3:05you talk about the brand new quarterback battle between Hayner,
- 3:08Spencer Rattler, Tyler Shock. What does Jake's future look like
- 3:11in New Orleans after this news.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Yes, it's interesting. I don't think the oblique injury really
- 3:16changes anything for Jake Canner. I mean, obviously it's not
- 3:20advantageous to have that right now at this point in
- 3:23the season, you're trying to compete for a job and everything.
- 3:25But I don't think look I mean, realistically, he's not
- 3:30in the competition to be the starting quarterback. I think
- 3:32we know it's gonna be Rattler Shock, it's not gonna
- 3:34be Jake Cayner. I think he is kind of fighting
- 3:36for a roster spot right now. But I don't think
- 3:41this really puts them too far behind anything. I think
- 3:43I think it's gonna take Deckers some time to pick
- 3:45stuff up. I think that training camp is when that
- 3:47battle is really going to start. Nothing's going to be
- 3:49decided right now. We didn't see Decker's throw in the
- 3:52last OTA. It was only about an hour long, and
- 3:55it was eight throws for Shock, eight throws for Rattler,
- 3:59and that was it. But I would imagine that that
- 4:02Decker's probably looks kind of similar to Shock right now,
- 4:04where things are happening a little bit slower. The ball
- 4:07isn't coming out like real fast. It's it's kind of
- 4:10looks like a guy learning how to play at this level,
- 4:13like kind of getting used to the speed of it,
- 4:15and is you know, his his use to the temperature.
- 4:18So I don't think he's probably pulling up on Hayter
- 4:21right now. And the thing with Hayter is as soon
- 4:22as he hits that field in practice, we already know
- 4:24he's gonna look amazing, Like he is an amazing looking
- 4:27practice player. So any ground loss over missing what is it,
- 4:31uh ten practices or something like that. I think he's
- 4:35gonna just show up day one and training camp, assuming
- 4:37he's ready, go out there and practice, and he's gonna
- 4:40remind everyone that, like, hey, like this is a guy
- 4:42that that understands things. So I don't think he's losing
- 4:45the battle right now. I think it's detrimental to to
- 4:48you know, the possibility of him winning that starting job,
- 4:50but that was never that was never realistic to me
- 4:53as far as.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Ota is go as a whole, and like you just
- 4:56you guys are only out there for about an hour,
- 4:58so I get you're limited on what you can see.
- 5:00Are there any standouts out there that maybe call your eye?
- 5:08Speaker 2: Nick?
- 5:08Speaker 4: You still there?
- 5:11Speaker 3: All right?
- 5:12Speaker 4: Maybe we've lost Nick Underhill. We will try to reconnect
- 5:15with him right there. You know, it's funny he was
- 5:17talking about Jay Kyner and that battle between him and
- 5:20Hunter Deckers for that QB three spot. Look, Hunter Deckers
- 5:24is a guy that can play a little bit. You know,
- 5:27we talked about him. It was actually one of one
- 5:30of T Bob's last shows. We were talking about Hunter
- 5:32Deckers and his potential. He obviously signed with Iowa State
- 5:36coming out of high school. He was one of the
- 5:38highest ranked quarterback commits that Iowa State ever had. He
- 5:42got to start there and did some nice things. Now, ultimately,
- 5:45if you remember the big sports gambling issue in college football,
- 5:49hunter Deckers was part of that. But before that, he
- 5:51was a really nice player out for Iowa State. Right, Nick,
- 5:54we are back with you right now. Sorry about that,
- 5:56you got cut off a little bit. But going back
- 5:58to the previous question, anybody that's made caught your eye
- 6:01out there at so far, I mean.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Probably the guys that that should I thought Rattler had
- 6:07had a really great practice, Like stuff was just happening
- 6:10fast and balls coming up quick in rhythm, kind of
- 6:13back foot hitting on the three step drop ball out,
- 6:16you know, stuff like that where where you kind of
- 6:17see the experience of a year. So he was he
- 6:20was the main guy I left that practice like really
- 6:22kind of you know, excited about seeing what he looked
- 6:25like in year two coming into it. But that's kind
- 6:27of to be expected.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Uh.
- 6:29Speaker 5: One guy that really stood out that was surprising to me.
- 6:31That wasn't I don't think got my radar at all.
- 6:34I don't think he got mentioned in like a single
- 6:36off season conversation with with Dante Pettis. He he's playing
- 6:40high up in the order. They had this period where
- 6:43they split up the field. It was kind of like
- 6:45the first team and then the top reserves on one
- 6:48end of the field like everybody else at the other end,
- 6:50Dante Pettis was on the right end of the field
- 6:52with the with the higher rated players, is how I
- 6:55put it. And then even in this stuff and on
- 6:58steven period he had a nice touch up the sideline. Again,
- 7:01it's one day, like it's one day of practice, it's
- 7:03an hour. He might not look good in anywhere else,
- 7:06but in those sixteen reps we saw on the four
- 7:08that he was out there for he looked pretty good
- 7:11and he stood out and it looks like just Dutch
- 7:12shart wise this early he's ahead above means right now.
- 7:16I said of that, not really like anyone that was surprising.
- 7:20I think maybe the undercover, low key takeaway here is
- 7:23that when the offense goes fifteen to sixteen in a practice,
- 7:26maybe there's some secondary concerns a little bit. There's some
- 7:30guys missing obviously not out if these practices. Tyron wasn't
- 7:33out there for this practice. Jamaira Davis wasn't out there
- 7:37for this practice. So I mean there's a couple of guys.
- 7:39Quincy Riley still hurt, the rookie Day drafted to compete
- 7:41at cornerback, He's still not out there. So I mean
- 7:44it's not like a full team thing. There's no pressure,
- 7:47nothing like that. But when the offense goes fifteen to
- 7:49sixteen with a guy with six starts and a guy
- 7:51with zero starts, I mean, I think there's a little
- 7:54bit of a commentary on where the defense is as
- 7:56so maybe standing out for the wrong reasons right now?
- 7:59Is that second?
- 8:00Speaker 4: Speaking of the secondary, you know, you drafted Quincy Riley,
- 8:04who you just talked about, but you lose Paul's and Adebo.
- 8:07You traded Marshall on Lattimore, you know, so you have
- 8:10who like McKinstry back from a year ago, and a
- 8:12lot of people don't believe that Alonta Taylor is an
- 8:14outside corner. So like, in your opinion, if this season
- 8:17started today, the outside corners for the Saints like who's
- 8:20getting that start.
- 8:22Speaker 5: I think it would probably be so in the base.
- 8:25My guess would be is that it would probably be
- 8:27a Lante and kool Aid out there when they're just
- 8:29out there and you know, the four defensive backs on
- 8:32the field, and then when they go into like Nickel
- 8:33or Dime, I think Alante would probably move into the
- 8:36slot and then you'd put I got him out there.
- 8:38I can't project Quincy Riley yet because we haven't seen
- 8:41him on the field. I have no idea if he's
- 8:43if he's going to be ready to play. Maybe it's
- 8:45not a Samuel ends up on the team and and
- 8:47you know he's not something that's going very good at it,
- 8:50like run defense, Like he's done a liability there, So
- 8:52maybe you would do it the same way Orlanti on
- 8:54the outside, move him to the inside, and then put
- 8:56Samuel out there in the situations where you'd be looking
- 8:58at like your recovery situations. But I think Alante is
- 9:02at his best in that role. Like I think, just
- 9:05beyond anything, I think you need to find a way
- 9:07to get in there, and I think your defense is
- 9:09better if you have him on that inside role. I mean,
- 9:11you look back at the beginning of last season, there's
- 9:14some of these stats like charting dynamic plays, pressures, quarterback hits,
- 9:18like pass breakups, all this stuff, and they put it
- 9:20in there and it's the stat like just measuring that,
- 9:23like who's impacting the game the most. He was at
- 9:26the top of the list on that stuff, and it
- 9:28was it was playing the seed of the eye, like
- 9:30the blizzing ability, the pressures, like the run defense, the
- 9:33tackles for a loss. Like if you put him in
- 9:36the slot, I think that he becomes a multifaceted weapon
- 9:38and he's somebody that can maybe even be like part
- 9:41of the identity of your defense a little bit in
- 9:43that role.
- 9:44Speaker 3: But you move them to the outside and you get.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Those variables where he becomes more boom er bust. I
- 9:48think on the inside, where things are tight and there's
- 9:50a lot of traffic and there's a lot of players around,
- 9:53you can risk a little bit of that boom er
- 9:55bust because there's gonna be somebody in close quarters to
- 9:57help clean it up and it doesn't really set back
- 9:59your defense. You you're able to harvest a lot of the
- 10:02positives from a unique player like that. But on the outside,
- 10:04you're on a you're on an island. You're isolated. If
- 10:07you make the wrong play, you make the wrong read,
- 10:09you try to jump something, you get beat like. It
- 10:11just kind of takes away from the things that I
- 10:12think make him special. So I think they need to
- 10:14make it a priority play a long pay in the
- 10:16spot stinking.
- 10:18Speaker 4: With the secondary. Nick Nick Underhill of New Orleans that
- 10:20football joining us right now as far as that safety
- 10:23room goes, Look, Tara, Matthew's not getting any younger, you do,
- 10:25add uh, Justin Reid in the offseason, But what does
- 10:30the depth of that room look like right now? As
- 10:31far as the safeties go.
- 10:34Speaker 5: Yeah, they got a couple guys. I mean, if Holton
- 10:36can take the next step, like, there's a guy there
- 10:38that I think even now he's probably fine depths, but
- 10:40I think obviously I don't think he chunds him for
- 10:43a starting spot and designing and Justin Reed kind of
- 10:45kind of tells you that. And then they drafted Sanker two.
- 10:47He's somebody that he looks pretty good moving like not
- 10:50really not not really seeing any plays yet, can't hit, like,
- 10:53but just seeing how he moves out on the field
- 10:55that kind of stands out a little bit. There's some
- 10:57movement ability there. So there's a couple of young guys
- 10:59in the line there that I think can develop a
- 11:02little bit, and they're in a good room with two
- 11:04like really good leaders with Hiring and Justin Reid. So
- 11:08I'm kind of excited to like see what Sanker can
- 11:11do just all over the place, like even his special
- 11:13teams highlights or they look like special and somebody that
- 11:17can maybe make a difference there well well serving possibly
- 11:20as like the third guy in that safety rotation. I
- 11:23would probably project them right away coming out of the
- 11:25draft being a side ahead of Houding. Housing was fighting
- 11:28ahead of them right now, but I would assume they
- 11:31believe Sankor can overtake that role. So yeah, I mean
- 11:34there's some guys there. I think there's not a lot
- 11:37of proven commodities behind the top two, but I think
- 11:41there's potential. And I mean, really that's what I want
- 11:44to see the team doing kind of everywhere, is just
- 11:46chase the potential with with young guys, be willing to
- 11:49go boom or bust everywhere, be willing, you know, be
- 11:51okay with any any kind of outcome, just kind of
- 11:54find out what you have and a lot of these
- 11:55guys and see where you're at. You know, I do
- 11:57think if the Derek Carr thing had happened before free
- 12:00agency and you're stuck without a quarterback, I do wonder
- 12:04if like Justin Reid's even here, because like his timeline
- 12:07doesn't even really sit up with the teams right now.
- 12:09I don't think he's like in his eighth season as
- 12:11a pro, twenty eight, twenty nine years old. You know,
- 12:15I do wonder like how it would have affected their
- 12:17whole free agency approach. But I think you're lucky to
- 12:19have him because I think he is a good leader.
- 12:21I think he's a good presence on this defense over
- 12:24the next couple of years as they're trying to grow
- 12:25into something else.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Nick, want to switch back to the offense here real
- 12:29quick to start OTA's you know, one of the the
- 12:33big notes that everyone was talking about was Trevor Penning
- 12:36at guard on that offensive line. What are your thoughts there?
- 12:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I've been saying it for like three
- 12:42years that I don't know if that's the best spot
- 12:45for him. But look, I might not be a reliable
- 12:48narrator on Trevor Penning. I thought him playing right tackle
- 12:50last year was going to be the thing that brought
- 12:52down the team. I didn't think they were gonna be
- 12:54able to play him week one. I thought he looked
- 12:55really bad during training camp. Then he gets out on
- 12:57the field and he's like kind of serviceable. I don't
- 12:59think he's good enough. I don't think you played well
- 13:01enough to be an answer at tackle for any of
- 13:03the thirty two teams. Maybe like a a below James
- 13:08Hurst lebble player at that position. But he became okay,
- 13:11Like he wasn't he wasn't something that was gonna cost
- 13:14him this season or anything like that. You were able
- 13:16to get by with him. So I was absolutely wrong there.
- 13:18I could be absolutely wrong about the guard thing. I
- 13:21like the idea of trying him out at that position.
- 13:24I feel like they've already lost on the draft pick.
- 13:26I feel like they've lost on the value they traded
- 13:28up to get him. He's not a tackle. He's not
- 13:30going to be a tackle for this team. So like
- 13:34that's already gone, Like he took the l there. But
- 13:36if you can get him at guard and he can
- 13:37be a serviceable guard, I mean that's that's pulling a
- 13:39win out of the lost and if he's okay enough,
- 13:42if he's decent enough at that spot, maybe you even
- 13:44like resign him and you keep him. I like the
- 13:47idea of his athleticism at that position. You know, leagues
- 13:50kind of trended towards six seven guards a little bit more.
- 13:53You know, Andrews feet was kind of at the forefront
- 13:55of that. Those guys are getting bigger and taller, so
- 13:57that's playable Chuckshure quarterback, that's not really a problem. And
- 14:01you know, if you can get in there and run
- 14:02and mall great, I mean, maybe maybe it could play there.
- 14:05I just don't know if like inside rush, quick poss
- 14:09rush moves it, if that's the thing that helps him succeed.
- 14:11I kind of feel like he might lose a little
- 14:13bit more at that. But look, I'm not I'm not
- 14:16standing on like anything with Cunning. I've been super wrong about,
- 14:19you know, my last couple of takes on him. So
- 14:22you know, maybe he makes it work. And if he does,
- 14:24I would feel really good about this offensive line overall.
- 14:27You know, there's a possibility and it should be I
- 14:29think I've said this before on here, like I think
- 14:31that old line should be a strength of the team.
- 14:33I think they should be held to that standard. They
- 14:35put way too much into it, and uh, you know,
- 14:37if he can play there, I feel I feel pretty
- 14:40good about the offensive line overall.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Nick, just one more for you, as you were talking
- 14:46about Alvin Kamara a little bit earlier, maybe the running
- 14:49back depth chart behind Camara, what do you expect that
- 14:51to look?
- 14:51Speaker 7: Like?
- 14:53Speaker 5: Yeah, it's interesting, man. They they had Yarns the ud
- 14:57FA on the field, the one to the field with
- 15:00with like when they split it up, he was down
- 15:02there and Neil was at the other end, which you know,
- 15:05it isn't necessarily like rookie es to earn it. Kendrick
- 15:07Miller was was down with the top team, So maybe
- 15:11it's kind of like a Miller versus Neil thing, and
- 15:13Neil has to overcome h Miller to get down to
- 15:16that end of the field. Maybe Yarn's just kind of
- 15:17viewed more as like the you know, the satellite tight
- 15:21back to pass catching back, and maybe he's kind of
- 15:23competing for for a different spot on that depth chart
- 15:26within the same meeting room. But I kind of I
- 15:29kind of expect it. Look I think when all said
- 15:32and done, I think I think it's probably alvin In
- 15:36and Neil or probably probably the top guys at that position.
- 15:38I think that's probably how they they want it to
- 15:40work out. It would be great if Kendre Stiller figures
- 15:43it all out. You know, I'm still the president of
- 15:46the the Kendre Miller Believers Club. I still think he
- 15:49has all the talent in the world. I still think that,
- 15:51you know, he's just an incredibly gifted player, but learning
- 15:55the playbook has been a huge problem for him every
- 15:57single year. And now you're changing offenses again, and he
- 15:59starts all the way over at the beginning, and maybe
- 16:02Joel Thomas and Kellum Moore in Paganetti and all those
- 16:07guys working with the run game, like maybe they're the
- 16:09ones that get at the click for him, And if
- 16:10they do, I think he's probably the second most talented
- 16:13back on the team. But it's just kind of reached
- 16:15the point after multiple years where it's just like, I
- 16:18can't bet on this guy, so I got a bet
- 16:21on the other guy, and black Miller proved me wrong.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Nick Underhill of New Orleans Dot Football, Nick, thanks so
- 16:27much for the time this morning. Man.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Yeah sure, go yep.
- 16:30Speaker 4: YouTube. There was Nick Underhill of New Orleans that football
- 16:33Nick underscore Underhill on Twitter. Look, we were able to
- 16:36fight through the uh spotty internet and phone connection. Good
- 16:41stuff there from Nick as always. All right, we're going
- 16:43to take a time out when we get back. LSU
- 16:46announced the jersey retirement of someone that Tiger fans will
- 16:49remember pretty fondly. That's coming up on the other side
- 16:51here on off the bench, off the bench.
- 16:56Speaker 6: All right, So you heard Flynn the other day. I
- 16:58mean he loves you know that. We hear on the
- 17:02OTV team Love Do Sequis. It is the perfect beer
- 17:05for any occasion. Lake beer, beach beer, shower beer, bath beer,
- 17:12you name it, beer like ballpark beer. It is the
- 17:15go to and we've said it, We're going to continue
- 17:18to say it. Whether you're tailgating outside of Tiger Stadium,
- 17:21watching the Saints on a Sunday, or just kicking back
- 17:24with your crew. Dose Sekis brings that bowl flavor and
- 17:28smooth finish that turns ordinary into legendary.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It's not just beer.
- 17:33Speaker 6: It is the beer of champions, or at least the
- 17:35beer of guys who feel like champions. But you will
- 17:38feel like a champion when you enjoy an ice cold
- 17:41do Sekis, So you don't have to be a champion,
- 17:43because dose Skis will make you a champion. So the
- 17:46next time you're watching the game, grab Ato Skis and
- 17:48remember stay thirsty. My friends responsibly, of course, do Seki's
- 17:52official beer of unforgettable sports moments.
- 17:55Speaker 2: This is Off the Bench.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Welcome back in Tuesday edition of Off the Bench, Taylor
- 18:12Sharp here where you're sitting in for Jaco pester Landraville
- 18:15Rial Cassi's bazzally along for the ride as well. We
- 18:18hope you are also uls you will retire former running
- 18:22back Charles Alexander's jersey this coming football season. Charles was
- 18:27actually on AFR on Friday. He was revealed the date
- 18:32to Matt Moscona. Of course, on after furtherview, the date
- 18:36will be the September thirteenth game against Florida in Tigers Stadium.
- 18:41No more appropriate game to do it then against those
- 18:44hated Florida Gators. Obviously, Alexander becomes the fourth Tiger to
- 18:48have his jersey retired. He joins Billy Cannon, Jerry Stoveall,
- 18:52and Tommy Casanova. You see the twenty, the twenty one,
- 18:54the thirty seven, and now the number four will be
- 18:57hanging up on the stadium in Tigers Stadium when Alexander
- 19:02left LSU. You know, this was before my time. He
- 19:05played back in the late seventies, and I had always
- 19:08heard stories of Charles Alexander, and you know how good
- 19:10he was. I mean the nickname Alexander the Great, right,
- 19:13I mean everybody, everybody loved Charles Alexander when he was here.
- 19:16I guess I just didn't realize how good. When Charles
- 19:20Alexander left LSHU, he held twenty seven school records. He
- 19:25was a two time Heisman Trophy finalist. He's already been
- 19:27elected to the Luisiana Sports Hall of Fame, the LSU
- 19:30Athletics Hall of Fame, the College Football Hall of Fame.
- 19:32He was a twelfth overall pick in the NFL Draft
- 19:35in nineteen seventy nine, ironically by the Cincinnati Bengals. He's
- 19:40everything you would have wanted and needed in a running
- 19:44back at that time, and it makes a lot of
- 19:45sense that they're retiring his jersey. His career at LSU,
- 19:48he finished with just over four thousand rushing yards. That
- 19:52was over fifteen hundred more than lshu's previous career rushing yards. Leaders.
- 19:57In that nineteen seventy seven season, he had had one
- 20:00six hundred and eighty six rushing yards. He also averaged
- 20:03one fifty three point three yards per game. Both of
- 20:07those were LSU single season records until twenty fifteen. Both
- 20:10of them were surpassed by Leonard Fournette. We know how
- 20:13good he was in college when you look at what
- 20:16Charles Alexander did here. I mean I mentioned the nineteen
- 20:18seventy seven season, but it was more than just that.
- 20:21I mean forty total touchdowns in a four year career,
- 20:24he averaged four point seven yards per carry sure seventy seven,
- 20:27he had seventeen hundred rushing yards seventeen touchdowns. Very next year,
- 20:32though he had twelve hundred yards, he had fourteen rushing touchdowns.
- 20:35I mean, this wasn't just a flash in the pant
- 20:37He catched the ball out of the backfield a little
- 20:39bit as well, four hundred career receiving yards. And this
- 20:41was a guy that did everything for you in a
- 20:45time where LSU's football program it was up and down.
- 20:48I mean, you didn't have the consistent winning that you
- 20:51do now. I know everyone's gonna say, what do you
- 20:53mean consistent winning? We haven't. I get it, but this
- 20:54football program is in a lot better shape now than
- 20:58it was when Charles Alexander played, and players like him
- 21:02is a big reason why. Now when I look at
- 21:05jersey retirements, obviously there's four in the stadium. You have
- 21:09Billy Cannon, Jerry Stovall, Tommy Casanova, and on September thirteenth,
- 21:13Charles Alexander will be your fourth. Who should be next
- 21:18in having their jersey retire?
- 21:20Speaker 3: Now?
- 21:20Speaker 4: The easy answer people are going to come up with
- 21:23is Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels because they both won
- 21:25Heisman trophies. Burrow, of course won the Natty as well.
- 21:29That's going to happen. LSU is very particular about this.
- 21:32They have a waiting period for players to get statues,
- 21:35have their jersey retired, you name it. I mean, you
- 21:38go look at the LSU roster. Since twenty nineteen season ended,
- 21:42no one has worn the number nine. No one is
- 21:45currently on the roster wearing the number five. They didn't
- 21:47wear five last year. That's something that the team has
- 21:50kind of taken upon themselves. No one's going to wear nine,
- 21:53no one's going to wear five. Those are going to
- 21:55happen in due time. There's just a process as far
- 21:59as like as that. I think could potentially hear their
- 22:03name called soon, because I mean you look at the
- 22:05guys that are getting their jersey. We're done. I mean, hell,
- 22:08Charles Alexander at two time Heisman Finals. He played back
- 22:10in nineteen seventy seven. It's just now happening for him.
- 22:13Jerry Stovall was just a few years ago. I'm twenty eight.
- 22:16I was in the stadium when it happened for Tommy Casanova,
- 22:19and all of these guys was well after their playing career.
- 22:23First one I want to look at is someone a
- 22:25little bit more modern? What about Glenn Dorsey? Like he
- 22:28was a first round pick, fifth overall by the Kansas
- 22:32City Chiefs. He won every single award you could imagine
- 22:37his final year here at LSU. He was a consensus
- 22:41first team All America and he won in the Girsky,
- 22:42he won the lot, he won the Outland, you name it,
- 22:45he won it. There was a defensive award or a
- 22:48Lineman award, it was given to Glenn Dorsey in two
- 22:50thousand and seven. It's funny we were talking about this affair.
- 22:55I was talking about it with tbub and Jake a
- 22:56couple of weeks ago when they talk about oh, everyone
- 23:00says Glen Dorsey's junior year was better than his senior year.
- 23:03That's not true. Somebody came up with that, pulled it
- 23:06out of their butt and never won rolled with it,
- 23:08because Glen Dorsey's junior year was really good sixty four tackles,
- 23:12nine tackles for a loss, three sacks. But in that
- 23:15two thousand and seven season he was dominant. Even after
- 23:20the Auburn game, we know the cheap shot, the chop
- 23:22block that they pulled on Glen Dorsey. He wasn't quite
- 23:24the same after that injury, but he was still really
- 23:26really dominant. Look what Glen Dorsey did in two thousand
- 23:29and seven, the year LSU obviously won the national title.
- 23:33Sixty nine tackles, thirteen tackles for a loss, seven sacks.
- 23:38So in three seasons, Glen Dorsey twenty six tackles for
- 23:41a lost thirteen sacks on the interior of the defensive line.
- 23:45He was also about three hundred and ten pound defensive town.
- 23:48That is dominant. Before or since, I don't believe that
- 23:53we have seen a defensive lineman as dominant as Glen Dorsey.
- 23:57He was incredible in every aspect of the game. Again,
- 24:00he played I mean what that all bring game was
- 24:03Week seven, Week eight, somewhere in there. I mean he
- 24:06played the back half of that season almost with a
- 24:08banged up knee, and he was still dominant. He still
- 24:10made an impact. Glen Dorsey is a name that I
- 24:12would look at, no question about. But also what about
- 24:16Kevin Falk. Look, he's your schools all time leading rusher.
- 24:19He was here for four years, eight hundred and fifty
- 24:25two yards as a freshman. After that, never less than
- 24:28eleven hundred. He finished with forty six rushing touchdowns in
- 24:31four years. Also, he was on that team in the
- 24:35late nineties that Jerry DeNardo bring back the Magic teams
- 24:39four ls. Shoot now, again, they weren't winning a ton,
- 24:41not like they are now. But he was kind of
- 24:43that first big recruit that LSU was able to pull
- 24:45in and say, hey, we can hang with the big boys.
- 24:48Can we get this going? That kind of kick started
- 24:50LSU into the Nick Saban air and then of course
- 24:52Les Miles had oors around Brian Kelly where you are now.
- 24:56Kevin Falk was probably the most important recruit during that time. Period,
- 25:00forty five hundred rushing yards, forty six rushing touchdowns, five
- 25:04point three yards per carry. Also, he had over six
- 25:07hundred receiving yards in his career, over five thousand yards
- 25:12from scrimmage, fifty total touchdowns. This guy's name should be
- 25:16inside Tiger Stadium forever. This is a name that continuously
- 25:20gets brought up in terms of, Hey, who's the next
- 25:22guy to see his name up there? I think it
- 25:24has to be Kevin Faulk. You didn't have the team
- 25:26success you probably would have wanted, but Kevin Falk was
- 25:29a huge member of that team. He's essentially all you
- 25:31had on some of those teams. I mean, back to
- 25:34back to back years, twelve hundred yards, eleven hundred, twelve hundred,
- 25:37thirteen fifteen and twelve touchdowns. That's incredible. That's good on
- 25:42a good team, on a team competing for a national title,
- 25:44much less those teams in the late nineties that had
- 25:46some good years had some bad years. I think as
- 25:49far as the pre two thousands era, Kevin Falk's they
- 25:53got to look at. And then if you want to
- 25:54go off more recent history, sure, Joe Burrow, Jaden Daniels.
- 25:58They're going to get honored in some sort of way.
- 26:00They did too much for this school, in this university.
- 26:03Glenn Dorsey is a name to keep an eye on
- 26:05as well. All right, look, I want to take a
- 26:07time albumen we get back Devin snow hold the Mayo
- 26:10hopping on with us. We'll recap Memorial Day. He hit

- 27:42back on Friday. Right now. We normally have him on Mondays,
- 27:45but Memorial Day kind of pushed everything back. He was
- 27:48gracious enough with his time to hop on with us today.
- 27:50Devin snow hold the mayo, Dev, How are you today doing?
- 27:55Good man? Look a little extended weekend for most of
- 27:58us with Memorial Day. I saw your RB and R
- 28:01Day yesterday you went out to Blue Oak. Is this right?
- 28:05Speaker 6: Is it?
- 28:05Speaker 4: Two hundred and sixty three rby and our days?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah? And I had just realized yesterday morning that I
- 28:11think that's like five years of doing it, So I
- 28:15think two hundreds. Look, I don't know, I don't know
- 28:17the division, but it's got to be something close to
- 28:19five years. I think.
- 28:20Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure the run you've been on is impressive.
- 28:24And you know, I thought about you last week because
- 28:27I was watching Jason Josh. I don't know if you've
- 28:30seen him on TikTok, the two British guys that have
- 28:32been touring around Louisiana. Dude, how the hell did you
- 28:35not get the hook up with those guys and collaborate
- 28:37with them?
- 28:38Speaker 3: Bro, you gott realize, like, none of these these people
- 28:42ain't They don't know me like that. You know, I'm saying,
- 28:43they're way bigger than this. That's the look. Man, I'm
- 28:47I'm Louisiana Golf Coast. These guys come from Britton or
- 28:51way ever. You know what I'm saying, Like they never
- 28:53heard of me, so don't. I don't blame them, but
- 28:56it looks like they had a great time. And you know,
- 28:59I'll call it how a suit. I thought they were
- 29:00pretty funny, you know, just I think a lot of
- 29:03it has to do with the fact that they are
- 29:04British and they in such a different surrounding, so it
- 29:07is funny. But yeah, man, I don't know. I don't
- 29:11know how it didn't happen because I.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Was watching the video of them in New Orleans and
- 29:16they're like, guys, we need food recommendations, we need this
- 29:18and this. I'm like, we need Devin Snow to give
- 29:20them a tour of the Big Easy, Like I thought
- 29:22that would have been great, bro.
- 29:23Speaker 3: I dude, I put a I remember probably like what
- 29:26two years ago or something like that. I think I
- 29:28dropped and it's the last time I have a drop
- 29:30recommendation to anybody that's you know that big. I did
- 29:33it with Kay Adams and dude, when I tell you,
- 29:36I dropped her ten dangers under her comments and it
- 29:39got like thousands of likes. Bro. She wound up going
- 29:43to Cafee's mind, like you can't help these people, you
- 29:45know what.
- 29:45Speaker 4: I yeah, it's like give me recommendations. You give the recommendation,
- 29:49they go somewhere else. Feel like, okay, well that's what
- 29:51you think.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they it's not even like what they think
- 29:54of me. It's just like they can't help it. It's
- 29:57some of these places that we've know about our whole life,
- 30:01like they just learned tourists in you know what I'm saying,
- 30:04you can't. I mean the Parkway, and it's not like
- 30:07it's bad or anything. It's just like there's so much more.
- 30:10You know.
- 30:11Speaker 4: That the big news out of New Orleans is unfortunately negative.
- 30:16You know I saw this. I guess it was Wednesday
- 30:18or Thursday. Whenever it was first announced that WrestleMania is
- 30:21pulling out of New Orleans. The ww said they were
- 30:24going back to Vegas. Like, I know, you got to
- 30:26do the interview with the Rock late at night and
- 30:28all that for the promotional thing. What are your thoughts
- 30:30on them pulling out this this soon? I mean, it's
- 30:32less than a year or.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Right, just unbelievably unfortunate, and it's just it's terrible, Bro,
- 30:41it really is. Man. I'm still not feeling good about that.
- 30:45I just hate how it happened. I hate how it
- 30:47happens to New Orleans. You know, it don't happen to
- 30:49nowhere else. Yeah, I gee you if they would have
- 30:52been going to LA, they wouldn't have pulled out of LA.
- 30:55You know what I'm saying. It's just part of what
- 30:57we go through.
- 30:58Speaker 5: Bro.
- 30:58Speaker 3: They will pull a whole refle Mania. We still don't
- 31:01have clarity on why we just got to assume that
- 31:04it was over some money, you know, and it's just crazy, man,
- 31:09so many people are looking forward to that, and uh yeah,
- 31:12it's it's very unfortunate, but also like I'm not completely shocked,
- 31:17Like this stuff happens to us all the time, dude.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, speaking of like the why I was
- 31:21reading last night a little bit, and you know, they
- 31:24were saying, Oh, we've made so much money in Vegas.
- 31:26We don't think we can replicate that in New Orleans.
- 31:30We're just going to go back to Vegas to kind
- 31:32of you know, save it and get the money back.
- 31:34But like, I don't understand how they could be this
- 31:36tune deaf, Like the people in New Orleans will show
- 31:38up to events like this. I don't I don't realize.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Well, it's a smack in the face too, because wrestling
- 31:46and combat sports have rooted history in New Orleans. So
- 31:50it's like we basically they're saying, bro, we can't about
- 31:53this bag so much. We got to eat this bag
- 31:56so much, Like they have billions of dollars, this place
- 32:00WW is universally bigger than its APPA been, right, and
- 32:03they're like, no, we got to eat this bag even more.
- 32:06And they just disregard the history in New Orleans for wrestling,
- 32:10you know, and it's just it's disgusting, man, it really is.
- 32:13You know, I go turn that stuff on last night.
- 32:15They got every single match is sponsored by a different company.
- 32:20Oh this match is sponsored by cash app. Oh this
- 32:23match is sponsored by Snapchat. Bro, go eat a bag
- 32:26and go away. Like seriously, bro, Like it's all they
- 32:29care about in the money?
- 32:30Speaker 4: Well exactly, I was seeing that, Like a couple of
- 32:33the promoters are actually from Vegas, so they were like, oh,
- 32:36we want to we want to keep the money yet
- 32:38a little bit more local. Wait, which is crawd But
- 32:39you were you were talking about the combat sports like look,
- 32:42Pourier Holloway is coming out. That's gonna be a big
- 32:44time UFC event in New Orleans.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Like yeah, same people that run not to cut you off,
- 32:50but same people that run wrestling, run the US. They
- 32:53on the UFC now And going back to the bag
- 32:58bag eaters part, go look the tickets for USC man,
- 33:01I mean, borrow, ain't nobody loves UFC fore to me, dude,
- 33:04And I'm gonna tell you right now. At them ticket
- 33:05it's I say, thousands of dollars for this event, and
- 33:09I've still yet to pull the trigger on the ticket
- 33:11because it's just crazy.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Oh dude, I've seen like average ticket price now, I've
- 33:17seen like twenty five hundred bucks like per ticket. Like
- 33:19it's it's insane, like, but for them to pull out,
- 33:22I thought it was kind of weak. But I wanted
- 33:24to get your thoughts on this. Aaron Rodgers over the
- 33:26weekend had this little Q and a. I don't know
- 33:28where it was, doesn't really matter, but there was a
- 33:30Saints fan in the crowd saying, Hey, Aaron, would you
- 33:33ever consider coming to play for the Black and Gold?
- 33:35And he was like, look, you don't have to be
- 33:37disrespectful or anything, but uh, absolutely, no way. I have
- 33:40no interest in living in Louisiana. Like if you didn't
- 33:43want to do that, that's fine. Like you played in
- 33:44Green Bay and went to Berkeley, Like those don't seem
- 33:47like great spots either. But like, is Aaron Rodgers out
- 33:50of options? Is he going to play this year?
- 33:53Speaker 3: Well? I think he has a point with not wanting
- 33:55to be in Louisiana. You bring that guy down the
- 33:57New Orleans Like, I'm telling you, bar, he's gonna wind
- 33:59up being a bird the Street, tarrot reata you know
- 34:01what I'm saying. Yeah, he's a guy, he's a he's
- 34:05a strange fellow. This is a strange place. And no,
- 34:07it probably wouldn't work out. He probably getting into the hobbies,
- 34:10you know, but who knows. Like I guess the only
- 34:14team really left, so maybe pick up Adon Rodges would
- 34:18be Pittsburgh, But it's starting to feel like they may
- 34:20not so well.
- 34:22Speaker 4: The thing is dev like this morning, this made one
- 34:25hundred days till the start of the NFL season, Like,
- 34:29this guy's not at OTAs, He's not going to be
- 34:31a training camp. Like I look at it as I've
- 34:34always considered Pittsburgh as one of the more stable organizations
- 34:37in the NFL. But like, if Pittsburgh makes this move
- 34:40like that just screams dysfunctional to me.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't seem very Mike Tom Whin either, Like
- 34:45you would think that Mike Tom was probably thinking, like,
- 34:47you know what, forget this dude, you know, And maybe
- 34:50he's already thought that they moved on. We don't know,
- 34:53but I think the whole that the whole like being
- 34:57bigger than the team not showing up then, man, that
- 35:01stuff is so lame. Now brow like it had its
- 35:03little run with a couple guys. Aaron Rodgers late late
- 35:06on that man, that stuff's lame. Bro, you don't want
- 35:10to show up for the team because Janne Rodgers. All right,
- 35:14well we all human at the end of the day, Bro,
- 35:15Tom's gonna fly on and people are probably gonna forget
- 35:18that you will, you know, Aaron Rodgers, So more power
- 35:23to him, but also see him later. We don't want
- 35:25him down here anyway. I mean, thanks for asking the
- 35:27question as far as the girl that asked it, but
- 35:29who can speaking.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Of the quarterbacks that are going to be in New
- 35:33Orleans Devil Saints question before we get you out of here?
- 35:36Saints here underway and OTAs. And it was reported that
- 35:39Jay hayneer out with an obleaque. Now he was obviously
- 35:42a dark horse to win this starting quarterback spotting everybody.
- 35:45Everybody thought of him as the third right, But like,
- 35:48is he done in New Orleans?
- 35:51Speaker 3: Got it right?
- 35:53Speaker 2: People?
- 35:53Speaker 4: They like Hunter Deckers.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Bo. I'm gonna tell you right now, you want to
- 35:57talk about a dark horse Dacca, Yeah, I mean the
- 36:02name you know what I'm saying that it's the same
- 36:05names as a drill as a power drill. You know

- 38:27Speaker 4: Welcome back in Welcome Back. In final segment, Tuesday edition
- 38:34of Off the Bench, Tayler Trumper with the Elantra Villary,
- 38:36Ali Kessi Spizzally with us Elandra, the Macrone, the Macrone situation.
- 38:41You have a video with this show.
- 38:42Speaker 8: Wait, I thought we were talking about the publatory one.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Oh wait, you know what, I'm an idiot. You were
- 38:47talking about the publicatory one. What is the publictory?
- 38:50Speaker 8: So the publictory one is well, the McCrone one is
- 38:54all over Twitter, you can find that link anywhere. But
- 38:56the Publotory one he's talking about he is my weekend loser. Yeah,
- 39:01and he's taught because he's like being creepy at this
- 39:04point about the Jordan Hudson thing. He's talking about how
- 39:07he found her on a fan cam at a Patriots
- 39:11game back in like twenty twenty one, and like this
- 39:15is the video that made me make him the weekend loser.
- 39:19So y'all could just let me know. I feel like
- 39:21he's doing entirely too much and it's getting borderline weird.
- 39:25And like stocker ish, but that's probably a stretch.
- 39:28Speaker 7: But here it is, Oh buildings, How do I prove
- 39:31what I had been told, which is that she was
- 39:33around Jillette Stadium November twenty twenty one.
- 39:36Speaker 2: There is a thing called a fan cam.
- 39:39Speaker 4: You're familiar, yeah, so you can, I believe.
- 39:42Speaker 1: But a fancam you can put in your seat, like
- 39:45your ticket number and your row and everything at a
- 39:47certain game and it'll show you that section on camera,
- 39:51so you can find yourself as a fan in the
- 39:54crowd at the game that.
- 39:55Speaker 2: You going back like like you can. I don't know,
- 39:58I don't know how far back it does.
- 40:00Speaker 7: Turns out he's going to find it on December fourteenth,
- 40:02twenty fourteen. What I didn't realize is that this was
- 40:05a whole searchable thing with like high definition cameras everywhere.
- 40:09We could zoom into any the Panopticon. After exhaustive searching
- 40:15of the Patriots fan cam database.
- 40:17Speaker 4: Is where it ward a hobby?
- 40:19Speaker 7: Sorry, I keep finding it was the Sunday November twenty eighth,
- 40:25twenty twenty one, when the Tennessee Titans visited the New
- 40:28England Patriots.
- 40:30Speaker 2: This is like when David Blaine, like eats a thing
- 40:33of glass where you're like, what, how did you do that?
- 40:36Speaker 8: What's the slight of him?
- 40:37Speaker 2: No, you know what I did. I just did it. Yeah,
- 40:39I actually did that thing, the thing that you're like,
- 40:41no one would do that. I did it. Oh my god, stop,
- 40:45it's zoomed way in. We are way zoomed in on
- 40:47this fan cam.
- 40:49Speaker 4: There's so many bad sure is the entire is Jordan.
- 40:52Speaker 1: This is November when twenty eighth.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Twenty eighth, twenty twenty one.
- 40:56Speaker 7: It's the Patriots thirty six thirteen win over the Tennessee Titans.
- 41:00Bill Belichick has a row of seats out right beneath
- 41:04the overhang in Gillett Stadium. And what I had to
- 41:07do was scroll endlessly through Jillette Stadium's fan cams.
- 41:12Speaker 2: You're telling me that you just went through it.
- 41:15Speaker 1: You knew the section, but not the day Like that.
- 41:18Speaker 8: Is so insane, Like he who wears enough to like
- 41:22go through all that? It's crazy butt.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Jowl Hudson went to a football game.
- 41:27Speaker 8: Yeah. My whole point about that though, is that like
- 41:31it's weird. Yeah, it's weird to have that much time
- 41:34on your hands too, to look through every single.
- 41:38Speaker 4: You saw the the.
- 41:40Speaker 8: Zoom out of it. It's the entire stadium full of people.
- 41:43Speaker 4: I don't know. I think it's getting weird. But like
- 41:46I get that there's some people that like have nothing
- 41:49else to do, like the like the guy with the
- 41:50pope right finding him in the crowd, but like public
- 41:52Tori is like national sports writer, and this is what
- 41:54you were devoting your time to. Like I'm thinking maybe
- 41:57Pablo's trying to like ride the Bill Belichick train all
- 42:00the way to the top, kind of like Brian Windhorse
- 42:01did with with Lebron James and Windhors has been great
- 42:05since them. But I mean that's that's kind of how
- 42:06Windhors rose to prominence was because of that.
- 42:09Speaker 8: But uh, but to like hyper focused on Jordan Hudson,
- 42:12it's so weird. And I know that, Like we talked
- 42:15about it and stuff, but we didn't take it that far.
- 42:17Speaker 4: No, it's it's it's odd. Okay, Look, before we get
- 42:20out of here, we got a few minutes, let's do
- 42:22a few ask the bench questions. We actually have quite
- 42:24a few. Ask the bench. Favorite summer movie' The Sandlot's
- 42:29pretty damn good. As far as summer movies, I don't
- 42:33know what classified like a movie that takes place during
- 42:35the summer, because like I think of Days That Confused
- 42:39as a summer movie, because I mean it's it's the
- 42:42last day of school they get out. All that Days
- 42:44of Confused would be one. Mine would be Sandlot for sure.
- 42:47Speaker 8: Yeah, Silt's a good one.
- 42:48Speaker 4: I don't I can't think of one. Ask the bench.
- 42:51Favorite breakfast food pancakes? I mean yeah, I mean, do
- 42:56you guy?
- 42:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 42:58Speaker 4: Like, is there is there a wrong answer here? Yeah?
- 43:00Speaker 6: Bacon?
- 43:01Speaker 4: But all of these options, like is there any bad
- 43:03answer here? Ask the bench. Will the laundry be doing
- 43:06a Willem Defoux movie marathon this week?
- 43:09Speaker 6: Maybe? Yeah?
- 43:10Speaker 4: Which one we saw? One is pretty good? I have
- 43:12yet to see, Like it's pretty good. I've heard it's great.
- 43:14That's the one that's like black and white, right Pattinson? Yeah,
- 43:16and they're like in a lighthouse. Yeah. Ask the bench.
- 43:19Favorite brand of Mayo. I like Blue Plate. I don't
- 43:23know a lot of people say Duke's Mayo. I'm a
- 43:25I'm a blue Plate person. Ask the bench. Are you
- 43:28gonna see Mission Impossible Final Reckoning? I want to This
- 43:32is the last one, you know, Mission Impossibles made like
- 43:36twenty five movies. Haven't been able to keep up with
- 43:38all of them. I know Jake loves the Mission Impossibles.
- 43:41I've seen like through four, and the ones i've seen
- 43:43are all really really good, So yeah, it's not that good.
- 43:47But I don't know the Final Reckoning, Yeah I haven't.
- 43:49I haven't heard anything about it. I just I don't know.
- 43:51I'll break. I'll break watch it just because it's the
- 43:53final one. Ask the bench, Bagel, donut or biscuit'sco it?
- 44:01Speaker 8: Okay, although I do love a bagel, I'm.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Gonna go donut. I just like sweets. I'm too big
- 44:08on the sweets. That's a that's a that's a problem
- 44:10for me. Sweets. Whether it's drinks and then like sour drinks,
- 44:13it's weird. Are those are kind of my my two
- 44:16right there? Ask the bench favorite Mission Impossible movie? The
- 44:21original Mission Impossible, the just the first Mission Impossible. Nothing
- 44:25beats that the first time you hear that Mission Impossible music.
- 44:28I think that it is incredible. Mission Impossible three I
- 44:31really like as well. But uh, those are those are
- 44:34probably the top two for me. I've only seen the
- 44:37first one. Okay, well, we know her favorite. Ask the
- 44:42bench favorite current pro wrestler. Now I'm gonna switch it
- 44:46to for a laundry. She's a UFC fan, favorite current
- 44:48UFC fighter.
- 44:50Speaker 8: I really like Ilia Tuporia right now. Obviously I love
- 44:54Dustin Poorier, but he's retiring, so for like up and
- 44:58coming and right now, I love Ilia Tuporia and I
- 45:01love it is between him and I like I love Patty.
- 45:06Speaker 4: The Batty, Patty pimblete.
- 45:08Speaker 8: Is He's definitely it's it's a tie between him and
- 45:11Ilia because I think Ilia is bringing a lot of
- 45:14fun and excitement to the sport.
- 45:15Speaker 4: Pisode is Patty. So I love both of them. Did
- 45:18we ever play the video? I know we talked about it.
- 45:20Do we ever play the video of Patty Pimblet training
- 45:23the Marines on jiu jitsu? So like a lot of people, like,
- 45:26you know, they talk about Patty, Oh, you know, he
- 45:27didn't care. You know, he's he's never in shape when
- 45:30it's outside of fighting. You know, everybody kind of kind
- 45:32of laughs about it. Like Patty Pimblet went up there
- 45:34and was teaching these marines, like you know, the basics
- 45:37of jiu jitsu, ten of them in a row, I mean,
- 45:39back to back to back Patty stayed on the mat
- 45:41and my guys, like jiu jitsu is hard. He gets
- 45:43up there easily submits all ten of these guys and
- 45:46like they're fresh. He's been out there fighting. I mean
- 45:49one jiu jitsu match could take three or four minutes.
- 45:51I mean that's two and a half UFC fights right there,
- 45:54and I mean he just he kept going and going
- 45:56and going like it was. It was really impressive. As
- 45:58far as favorite current wrestler, I really only know Roman
- 46:01Raine and I'm going to go with Roman Raines. It's
- 46:02like the only wrestler I now not a big wrestling
- 46:05fan here at Cody Rhodes is a big name now.
- 46:06I think that's that's a big name now. So we'll
- 46:09go with those two. All right, Look, that's going to
- 46:10do it. For a Tuesday edition of Off the Bench,
- 46:13We're jammed back today broke down a lot of LSU
- 46:16baseball pretty much the first hour of the show. We
- 46:19did it DISLOSU football as well. Chris Phillips with sec Unfiltered,
- 46:23hopped on to preview the upcoming NCAA baseball tournament. We
- 46:28created our own flag football teams. Now the NFL players
- 46:30might be able to compete in the Olympics. Nick Underhill
- 46:33of New Orleans Dot Football Devin Snow hopped on because
- 46:36we kind of wanted to do a little combining a
- 46:37normal Monday show with a normal Tuesday show. So thanks
- 46:41to all the guests that we're able to hop one
- 46:44today that's going to do it for a Tuesday edition
- 46:46of OTB. I'm back today, tomorrow and Thursday. Stay tuned.
