- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the And Coop. So I want to share a very funny
- 0:33story that I think is quirky improved some points for all of
- 0:38us to consider about ourselves. So I'm currently taking a
- 0:42course, from one of my favorite authors, that is a marketing
- 0:47course. And because of the nature of
- 0:49what I do, I'm always on this like path of learning plus, it
- 0:53was just in stilled in me as a child early on that.
- 0:56You should always be reading a book.
- 0:57You should always be learning something because without having
- 1:00that, As part of your hardwiring, you don't stay
- 1:03sharp. And my father was very big on
- 1:05sharpening the tools about learning all the time.
- 1:08And my mother was very big on reading.
- 1:10I love of reading is 100% because of my mother.
- 1:13So I signed up for a course, which I'm absolutely in love
- 1:17with having a great time with it and it's video-based.
- 1:21And there some PDFs that you can download and over the course of
- 1:26the last week, I downloaded one of them onto my eye.
- 1:30IPad which has an eye pencil with it and I was very excited
- 1:33that I could go in and I could actually like right in the, you
- 1:37know, the PDF with it and make some great notes because it was
- 1:41easy and I was doing a lot of stuff while I was out and about.
- 1:46So I was like, okay I'll have to carry pads and I'm to do all
- 1:48kinds of stuff. This is gonna be super
- 1:49convenient, do it this way. So as I'm doing all this, I
- 1:53realize how much I miss paper and pen and I'm like, you know
- 1:58what, I really just wish this was on paper.
- 2:00But you know it's a 75-page book and 75 page file and if I have
- 2:07this 75-page file, I'm going to have to print it out and then
- 2:11I'm going to have 75 pages and how am I going to you know keep
- 2:15it contained. What am I going to do?
- 2:17I'm going to put a bulldog clip on it and I'm I'm having all
- 2:20these thoughts about it. Now here's what's funny about
- 2:23this and what's Curious. And this is why we're having
- 2:25this conversation. I'm debating this in my head, no
- 2:29joke. For a good three days now.
- 2:33I don't know about you but I sometimes just don't pay
- 2:36attention to the chatter going on in my head, which is what's
- 2:39so funny about it. Because chatter in, someone's
- 2:41head is my job and with myself I'm like the plumber with bad.
- 2:45Plumbing is I've confessed many times to you guys, so here I am
- 2:48debating it, debating it debating it and I realize The
- 2:54other night, as I'm lying in bed.
- 2:56Why am I debating this? What is going on with me?
- 2:58What is taking me so long to make a decision on this and
- 3:01Morton like happening in my head with this?
- 3:04So I start to really dig into it.
- 3:06And I'm like, well, you know, it's 75 Pages by the time it's
- 3:11all printed out, that's 75 pieces of paper.
- 3:16Then you've got ink. Oh well you know ink is so
- 3:18expensive and then we've got to take it maybe and have it bound
- 3:23somewhere and that's To be expensive.
- 3:25Now, here's the funny part about this.
- 3:28And the logic is out the window at this point because I've
- 3:31invested in a fairly expensive course.
- 3:34And as I've invested in this fairly expensive course, I
- 3:38definitely want the most of the outcome, I can get from it.
- 3:41So what is causing me to worry about sheets of paper ink and
- 3:46going to Staples and having it bound.
- 3:49And I start laughing when I'm thinking about it.
- 3:51So I call Staples asked them. How much would it be to?
- 3:54Buying this book with a spiral bound so that I could use it
- 3:57blah, blah blah and he says $11 and I'm like $11.
- 4:01And then I look at like, how much should I pay for that 500
- 4:04brick of paper and what is it for?
- 4:07You know, I've got a maximum of, you know, an Epson printer for
- 4:12the XL size, right? So how much ink in my really
- 4:15using? And I realized that basically,
- 4:17I'm driving myself crazy for about $15 worth of expenses and
- 4:22I just start laughing and I'm like How often do we sit?
- 4:26And hold ourselves up for the stupidest damn things that we
- 4:29can you know imagine or don't even imagine or just get stuck
- 4:33in our Loop so I stopped myself. I went off, I went printed it
- 4:39out, I went to Staples, I had them behind it.
- 4:42I have this beautiful workbook now and I'm thrilled to be
- 4:44sitting there working on it with a pen and paper.
- 4:48And it makes a massive difference because I can flip
- 4:50back, I can flag the pages. I feel good about it.
- 4:53I've got my Post-it notes, my highlighters and I feel good and
- 4:57it's very old school and it makes me feel great.
- 4:59So, my point to you all is look how innocent that all was.
- 5:04Look at the time that just the little time that I just spent
- 5:08telling you about that, and align that with something that
- 5:11you have done in your own head. Where you've said, oh my God,
- 5:14what am I doing? What am I hanging onto things
- 5:16for what am I stuck for? Because this is the stuff.
- 5:21My friends that holds us back the stuff I Today's because, now
- 5:26here's the other part. I everything that I did on the
- 5:28iPad is fine. But I now want to go back and
- 5:31take that out and put it into this.
- 5:33Now, granted, I may not have realized that ahead of time, but
- 5:38if I had really thought this through right from the very
- 5:40beginning, I know how much I love pen and paper, I know how
- 5:43much I love having the ability to highlight in a book, that's
- 5:47why I buy Kindle books. But when I really loved the
- 5:50book, and I know I'm going to read it again, I will buy the
- 5:53physical. Book and I will go back and do
- 5:55it that way because I know that's my just the thing that
- 5:59makes me feel good. It fills me up.
- 6:02So think about this. Think about this for yourself.
- 6:05Think about your little proclivities of where you get
- 6:07stuck and hung up and really consider what's holding you back
- 6:11right now. Because I'll tell you right now,
- 6:13I'm going to print out the rest of the workbooks for myself.
- 6:16And I'm going to be taking them in and I'm having them all bound
- 6:18so that I don't have to do this and torture myself anymore.
- 6:21And they'll be no more of that behavior because I've now Sized
- 6:24it and I'm going to learn from it.
- 6:26So this will be going into my learnings for the month, believe
- 6:29me, and it will be having a lot of smiley sticker cracking up
- 6:34around it because this really did crack me up about myself.
- 6:38So I hope you guys have a blessed day and I will see you
- 6:41all tomorrow. Bye.
