- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. Play fank go to roll right, jumps it
- 0:07Speaker 1: off into the right flass to Michael Bumpers, who bounces
- 0:09Speaker 1: off on one tackler gets inside the forty down of
- 0:12Speaker 1: the thirty five yard line. Powered by Seahawks dot Com,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Matt pump fakes looking at the goal line. He throws
- 0:17Speaker 1: it into the end zone. Touchdown. Say Hawks, it's Michael
- 0:21Speaker 1: Bumpus with a diving kitchen the end zone. Ten yard
- 0:24Speaker 1: touchdown reception for Bumpus, and the kid out of Washington
- 0:28Speaker 1: State has found himself a place on this team. Now
- 0:31Speaker 1: here's your host, Nasa Chuby. Welcome into another edition of
- 0:36Speaker 1: Hawk Talk. This week the Seahawks taking on the Rams
- 0:39Speaker 1: with their playoff hopes at Steak. Michael Bumpus and myself
- 0:42Speaker 1: will take you all the way through the Rams, the matchups,
- 0:45Speaker 1: what's on tap, what to look for, and everything with
- 0:47Speaker 1: that matchup. But before we get going here, we'd be
- 0:50Speaker 1: remiss if we didn't send some love to the Buffalo
- 0:53Speaker 1: Bills in safety Tomorrow Hamlin, who remains hospitalized in critical
- 0:56Speaker 1: condition after a cardiac event against the Angles. Last Monday night.
- 1:01Speaker 1: It was a scary scene. He needed CPR to get revived.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It was unprecedented, at least in my view. I've never
- 1:07Speaker 1: seen someone have to get revived on the football field.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I've seen some injuries. I've seen people get carded off,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I've seen people get airlifted off, but something like that
- 1:15Speaker 1: was it was a scary scene, bump and it was
- 1:16Speaker 1: hard to watch. Yeah, we've we've never seen anything like that.
- 1:20Speaker 1: And because we've never seen anything like that, then it
- 1:24Speaker 1: is appropriate to get all these different type of reactions right.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Everyone has their opinions on how the situation could have
- 1:30Speaker 1: been handled. But end of the day, the thing that's
- 1:32Speaker 1: most important is that, you know, we pray for tomorrow
- 1:35Speaker 1: and hope that he pulls through and as healthy as possible,
- 1:39Speaker 1: and that his family is okay, because you know, they're
- 1:42Speaker 1: the ones who are really going through this deal. Yeah, man,
- 1:45Speaker 1: really hard to watch, and you know, we're fortunate, or
- 1:49Speaker 1: you know, every NFL team is fortunate. The medical staffs
- 1:52Speaker 1: that are in place here at the Seahawks, just like
- 1:54Speaker 1: every other team in the NFL. Everyone practices this kind
- 1:56Speaker 1: of stuff. The medical team, the doctors, the positions they
- 2:00Speaker 1: go through in the preseason and they go through it
- 2:03Speaker 1: out the stadium. What would happen on a game day
- 2:04Speaker 1: if something like this world occur. So there there's no
- 2:07Speaker 1: more prepared people and no place where Obviously you don't
- 2:11Speaker 1: want an event like this to ever happen, but if
- 2:12Speaker 1: it did, that's the place you'd want to be with
- 2:14Speaker 1: all the medical professions out there. So somber note, but
- 2:17Speaker 1: just want to show shout, you know, some love to
- 2:19Speaker 1: DeMar because that's what's important right now. Football is not
- 2:22Speaker 1: important for them. You know, you heard Pete Carroll talk
- 2:24Speaker 1: about it today, a lot of other coaches throughout the
- 2:26Speaker 1: league talking about it. So we want to send our
- 2:28Speaker 1: prayers and our thoughts to Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin as
- 2:31Speaker 1: they navigate this time, and hopefully, you know, he'll continue
- 2:34Speaker 1: to get good news and be back, you know, with
- 2:36Speaker 1: his family healthy and with everyone else very soon. So
- 2:40Speaker 1: with that, we're gonna switch back over to the Seahawks
- 2:42Speaker 1: taking on the Rams. What's on tap? What's on tap?
- 2:50Speaker 1: These Rams bump five and eleven last place in the
- 2:53Speaker 1: NFC West. They've lost a ton of games or five
- 2:56Speaker 1: and eleven, Like I said, that's the most losses by
- 2:58Speaker 1: defending champion nf fell history. So definitely a rough year
- 3:02Speaker 1: for the Rams, but you know, I will say this,
- 3:05Speaker 1: they've been playing better in recent weeks, thrilling overtime and winning.
- 3:08Speaker 1: It's the Raiders a couple of weeks ago, and then
- 3:10Speaker 1: they beat down Russell Wilson and the Broncos fifty one
- 3:12Speaker 1: to fourteen. They're two and two in their last four
- 3:15Speaker 1: games after losing six in a row and eight of
- 3:17Speaker 1: their last nine before that. So it's been a rough
- 3:20Speaker 1: year for the Rams. Bump, but it's the Rams, and
- 3:23Speaker 1: you can't take them lightly. I mean the last time
- 3:25Speaker 1: the Seahawks did go down there and beat the Rams
- 3:27Speaker 1: in Week thirteen and took a Geno Smith last second
- 3:30Speaker 1: drive to get it done. So definitely can't take the
- 3:32Speaker 1: Rams lightly here. The Rams always want to play spoiler
- 3:34Speaker 1: and you got some emotion behind this one. Bobby Wagner
- 3:37Speaker 1: is going to make his first return here to louman Field,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and he doesn't hate the Hawks, but he definitely wants
- 3:44Speaker 1: to beat him. He wants to beat everybody. There's a
- 3:46Speaker 1: little ext or something on here, and the last time
- 3:48Speaker 1: we saw Bobby Wagner, he had the game of his life.
- 3:51Speaker 1: He's had some career numbers. He's leading or sorry, he
- 3:54Speaker 1: has the most sacks he's ever had in his career
- 3:56Speaker 1: this year, what I think, around six or seven. He's
- 3:58Speaker 1: playing some good football. He got his money over there
- 4:01Speaker 1: in La. I'm sure he wants to come back to
- 4:03Speaker 1: Seattle and show the Seahawks why they should have kept
- 4:06Speaker 1: him around. So with all the drama surrounding this, it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: the Las Rams. Play the Hawks good and they got
- 4:12Speaker 1: our guy over there. It should be a good one. Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You know again, you look at this on paper and
- 4:16Speaker 1: you'd think the Seahawks should be favored in a game.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I think they should win, but you can't take these
- 4:20Speaker 1: guys lightly. The last times Rams run the football field
- 4:22Speaker 1: was this past Sunday, losing to the Chargers thirty one
- 4:26Speaker 1: to ten. The Rams did their best to compete early on.
- 4:29Speaker 1: They had a seven play, seventy five yard drive with
- 4:31Speaker 1: a twenty three yard touchdown by Michael Malcolm Brown that
- 4:34Speaker 1: made the score fourteen ten with four or nine in
- 4:36Speaker 1: the second quarter, But from that point on it was
- 4:38Speaker 1: all Chargers, seventeen unanswered points and route to victory. Austin
- 4:42Speaker 1: Eckler had one hundred and twenty two yards rushing, scored
- 4:45Speaker 1: two touchdowns, and became the fifth running back with one
- 4:48Speaker 1: hundred receptions in a season. He's balling out NFL leading
- 4:51Speaker 1: eighteen touchdown thirteen rushing, five receiving, also had a career
- 4:55Speaker 1: best seventy two yard run. Mike Williams says, this holiday
- 4:59Speaker 1: and then for the Rams, Baker Mayfield couldn't get much
- 5:01Speaker 1: going offensively. He was eleven for nineteen, one hundred and
- 5:04Speaker 1: thirty two yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions. Loom bright spot
- 5:08Speaker 1: was cam Akers rush for one hundred and twenty three
- 5:10Speaker 1: yards or nineteen carries in his second straight one hundred
- 5:13Speaker 1: yard game. So bump, when you look at the head
- 5:16Speaker 1: to had obviously this you know tilts toward the Seahawks.
- 5:19Speaker 1: But what stands out to you, Yeah, we're gonna face
- 5:22Speaker 1: one of the worst offenses in the league and Baker
- 5:25Speaker 1: Mayfield is going to be the guy over there. We
- 5:27Speaker 1: know the struggles that these Rams have had this year
- 5:30Speaker 1: with injuries to guys like Cooper cub You got anchors
- 5:33Speaker 1: back there running the ball there. Twenty ninth putting points
- 5:36Speaker 1: to the board. The twenty seven nothing special, excuse me
- 5:38Speaker 1: past the twenty seven putting points to the board, their
- 5:41Speaker 1: twenty six. Nothing special about this offense. And then you
- 5:44Speaker 1: flip over to the defense. Look at the numbers. They're
- 5:46Speaker 1: about the middle of the pack when it comes to everything,
- 5:48Speaker 1: seventeenth ranked overall. But they got some guys over there.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I mean, there are some names that we know on
- 5:53Speaker 1: this defense, and we know that they find themselves playing
- 5:57Speaker 1: some really good football against the Seattle Seahawks. So you
- 6:01Speaker 1: look at this team on paper, your seventeenth overall defense,
- 6:04Speaker 1: thirty first overall offense. But you throw that stuff away
- 6:07Speaker 1: at the end of the season. They don't have anything
- 6:09Speaker 1: to play for but to kind of spoil what the
- 6:11Speaker 1: Seahawks have going on, and I'm sure they would not
- 6:13Speaker 1: mind doing that at all. Offensively, Hawks are fifteen. Defensively
- 6:17Speaker 1: there are twenty seven. If there's something that the Hawks
- 6:19Speaker 1: do well on offense, it is putting points on the
- 6:22Speaker 1: board everye else the middle of the board. Defensively, the
- 6:25Speaker 1: best thing that they do is their past defense. We
- 6:28Speaker 1: saw a bit of that last week with three will
- 6:30Speaker 1: And having a pass breakup and Mike Jackson getting his
- 6:32Speaker 1: first NFL interception. Yeah, I like what the defense is doing,
- 6:36Speaker 1: and the stats don't really bear what they've done the
- 6:37Speaker 1: last couple of weeks, holding the number one offense in
- 6:40Speaker 1: Kansas City down to their worst output of the season,
- 6:43Speaker 1: shutting down a Jets team, and yeah, their offense struggle,
- 6:46Speaker 1: but that's what you're supposed to do, and the Seahaws
- 6:48Speaker 1: accomplished that last week, holding them out of the end zone.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So hopefully the Seahawks and on paper had the head.
- 6:52Speaker 1: It looks good for them, but as we know, the
- 6:54Speaker 1: Rams cause a lot of problems. And it's the NFL.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Everyone gets paid any given Sunday. But of course these
- 7:00Speaker 1: teams have tons and tons of history. Let's know it,
- 7:03Speaker 1: no your history. Seahawks lead all time series twenty six
- 7:08Speaker 1: to twenty two. In the regular season, the Ramps or
- 7:10Speaker 1: two and oh. In the postseason. Last meeting, the Seahawks
- 7:13Speaker 1: went down to La snapped a three game losing streak,
- 7:15Speaker 1: beating the Rams twenty seven to twenty three. This is
- 7:18Speaker 1: the game bump where Gino finally got to check that box.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Fourth quarter game winning drive. Trailing twenty three to twenty
- 7:25Speaker 1: with two fifty six remaining in the game, Smith let
- 7:27Speaker 1: the Seahawks on a ten play, seventy five yard drive
- 7:30Speaker 1: that ended with a DK Metcalf touchdown over and none
- 7:33Speaker 1: other than Jalen Ramsey. Just want to throw that in there.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Gino probably played the best game of the year, going
- 7:39Speaker 1: twenty eight of thirty nine three to sixty seven, three touchdowns,
- 7:42Speaker 1: one interception. DK and Tyler both went over one hundred
- 7:45Speaker 1: yards in a touchdown TOIQ. Seven tackles, three pass defended,
- 7:49Speaker 1: one interception. So definitely hoping for a repeat performance here
- 7:53Speaker 1: in Seattle. Bump and man, I think when you look
- 7:59Speaker 1: at this matchup, you look at these guys every time,
- 8:01Speaker 1: it's gonna be a nail biter. I'm hoping this is
- 8:04Speaker 1: the week though, and it's not bumped because on paper,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I don't want to say, but I feel like the
- 8:06Speaker 1: Sea Auction win by ten plus my crazy What do
- 8:09Speaker 1: you think? Nah, you ain't crazy. Numbers give perspective, but
- 8:13Speaker 1: then the game tells you the truth. We can go
- 8:15Speaker 1: into this game looking at these numbers and say, well,
- 8:18Speaker 1: this is who they've been all year. But I tend
- 8:21Speaker 1: to look at the last few games, and if you
- 8:23Speaker 1: look at as a few games, the Rams haven't playing better,
- 8:26Speaker 1: but so have the Seahawks. So no, I think you're
- 8:28Speaker 1: crazy with that that ten point when I'm feeling that
- 8:31Speaker 1: that that will be a lot more stress free than
- 8:34Speaker 1: a last minute driver last time they hooked. Yeah, no question,
- 8:37Speaker 1: because you know, to quote the great Marquise Goodwin, you know,
- 8:40Speaker 1: numbers are like bikinis. They show you a lot, but
- 8:43Speaker 1: not everything. All right, let's let's put it back over
- 8:47Speaker 1: and figure out what's going on in the NFCUS. What's
- 8:49Speaker 1: the word? I have the Seahawks for the NFC West Champs? Again,
- 8:58Speaker 1: what's the word? In the wet on hot talkers? Are
- 9:04Speaker 1: the NFC West Champions? They've had that's about locked up
- 9:07Speaker 1: for a few weeks. Then I'm talking behind them in
- 9:09Speaker 1: at eight and eight. The Rams are five and eleven
- 9:11Speaker 1: and the Cardinals are four in twelve. Now, the Niners
- 9:15Speaker 1: played the Raiders last week and it was a good game. Man.
- 9:19Speaker 1: The Niners one nine in a row, and I went
- 9:23Speaker 1: to this game thinking it's still a toss up just
- 9:25Speaker 1: because of the matchup. You know, the Raiders have nothing
- 9:28Speaker 1: to lose. The Niners are playing for seating. When you
- 9:30Speaker 1: have these type of matchups, anything can happen, and that's
- 9:32Speaker 1: kind of what we saw. Man. Jared Stellam replaced Derek
- 9:35Speaker 1: Carr for the starter for the He's the starter for
- 9:37Speaker 1: the last two games, and he had a decent day
- 9:39Speaker 1: twenty three of thirty four, three sixty five and three touchdowns,
- 9:42Speaker 1: but he did throw two interceptions, one and overtime sin
- 9:45Speaker 1: say Sean Gibson he returned to fifty six yards and
- 9:47Speaker 1: that set up the game winning field goal. But the
- 9:50Speaker 1: Raiders were up by ten in the third quarter, and
- 9:53Speaker 1: they're the first team in NFL history to lose five
- 9:55Speaker 1: games in a season which they led by ten points
- 9:57Speaker 1: some more in the second half of that has to
- 10:01Speaker 1: be tough. Man on top of Sunday has lost to
- 10:03Speaker 1: the forty nine as the Reds Blue. A double digit
- 10:05Speaker 1: second half leads to the Cardinals, the Chiefs, the Jags,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and the Rams needed to say, these guys can't hold
- 10:12Speaker 1: on to nothing man the Ram. The forty nine Ers
- 10:16Speaker 1: had the number one defense in the league, so you
- 10:18Speaker 1: know they're gonna be a tough match up every single week.
- 10:20Speaker 1: But somehow the Riders put up thirty four points and
- 10:23Speaker 1: that was the most points allowed by this defense since
- 10:25Speaker 1: they played the Kansas City Chiefs at Davonte Allam. She
- 10:29Speaker 1: had Stidhams. Those guys played good. Davante had seven receptions
- 10:32Speaker 1: for one fifty three and two touchdowns. He's playing on
- 10:35Speaker 1: a bad team, but he's having an awesome year. I mean,
- 10:37Speaker 1: this guy, you put him anywhere, he's gonna ball out.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And Rock Purdy I see him as a starter now.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I keep saying he's a backup to the battle, but
- 10:44Speaker 1: he's played so many games now I's like, all right,
- 10:45Speaker 1: he's the guy. And he continued to play some good football.
- 10:48Speaker 1: He was twenty two to thirty five, twenty four, two touchdowns,
- 10:51Speaker 1: one interception, and then McCaffrey did what he does one
- 10:54Speaker 1: ninety three hold them one twenty one rush and seventy
- 10:58Speaker 1: two receive him in one touchdown. And then Brandon Iuk
- 11:01Speaker 1: has had one of the biggest turnarounds in the league
- 11:03Speaker 1: to me when it comes to performance, he's been taking over,
- 11:05Speaker 1: especially since Debo has been out. He's had He had
- 11:08Speaker 1: receptions for one on one and one touchdown. What scares
- 11:12Speaker 1: me about this game is that this is a type
- 11:14Speaker 1: of game the Niners needed before the playoffs. You know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: saying you gotta get tested right before you jump in
- 11:18Speaker 1: that thing. That's what the Raiders did. But overall, entertaining
- 11:22Speaker 1: game not what Shanahan would want, that's for sure, but
- 11:24Speaker 1: it helps his team in the long run. Yeah, that
- 11:26Speaker 1: was definitely a game where I'm like, how in the
- 11:30Speaker 1: world they put up thirty four against that defense? He
- 11:32Speaker 1: you scratch your head, But it's the NFL. Everyone gets
- 11:35Speaker 1: paid obviously. The other matchup, We're not gonna spend a
- 11:37Speaker 1: lot of time on Cardinals Falcons. Cardinals lost again. They
- 11:41Speaker 1: lost to Falcons twenty in nineteen six loss in a row,
- 11:43Speaker 1: eight of the last nine. A guy named David Blow
- 11:46Speaker 1: started the game for Arizona Bump. I never heard of him,
- 11:49Speaker 1: how to look him up. He's been in the league
- 11:51Speaker 1: a couple of years. So that's where they're seasons after
- 11:54Speaker 1: seasons over they're sitting guys that last week it's it's
- 11:57Speaker 1: rough over there and azy not mad at it. But
- 12:01Speaker 1: the NFC playoffs, it's it's simple right now. That's that's
- 12:04Speaker 1: what really really focus on right now. For the Hawks
- 12:06Speaker 1: beat the Rams, Lions beat the Packers at Lambeau. It's
- 12:10Speaker 1: a real bummer and honestly a travesty that the Rams,
- 12:13Speaker 1: the Seahawks lines Packers are not playing at the same time.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I don't want to get too far into that because
- 12:18Speaker 1: I don't want to get in trouble Bump, But I
- 12:21Speaker 1: don't see how those games aren't playing at the exact
- 12:23Speaker 1: same time. It gives a definitely competitive advantage to the Packers,
- 12:26Speaker 1: but they're playing at Sunday night. Seahawks to playing in
- 12:29Speaker 1: one twenty five, and you know, if the Seahawks win,
- 12:32Speaker 1: the Lions will be eliminated for the playoffs and have
- 12:35Speaker 1: nothing to play for when that game kicks off. But
- 12:36Speaker 1: I was very encouraged her Dan Campbell talking today. There
- 12:40Speaker 1: they coaster guys. They're playing these big games and win loser.
- 12:44Speaker 1: They don't care about the playoffs. They're gonna go in
- 12:45Speaker 1: there and win. They want to be nine and eight.
- 12:47Speaker 1: They want to up sit Aaron Rodgers. So I'm here
- 12:49Speaker 1: for a bump. It's a lot kind of going on.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Because the crazy thing is Bump is all these seeds
- 12:54Speaker 1: are still up for grabs. So if the Seahawks are
- 12:56Speaker 1: lucky enough to get into the playoffs, most likely they're
- 12:59Speaker 1: gonna go to San Francisco, could go to Minnesota, could
- 13:01Speaker 1: go to Philly. But yeah, a lot of different stuff
- 13:04Speaker 1: stuff for grabs in the NFC. Yeah, it's still up there,
- 13:07Speaker 1: and and I love it. This part of the year
- 13:11Speaker 1: when seeds still up for grabs. Let means you're gonna
- 13:13Speaker 1: get some good performances. Guys aren't going to sit unless
- 13:16Speaker 1: coaches are just happy with where they're at. But no,
- 13:19Speaker 1: I love this time of year. Man, It's it's playoff
- 13:22Speaker 1: football time of year, and luckily for the Hawks, we
- 13:24Speaker 1: get a little playoff warm up here with the challenge
- 13:27Speaker 1: this week and hope to takeet some help from the loss,
- 13:30Speaker 1: no question about it. Praying the football gods please Detroit
- 13:33Speaker 1: come out there, Seahawks win. I wanted to be at
- 13:37Speaker 1: home waiting thinking about, Okay, where we're going, and we
- 13:39Speaker 1: trying to book some flights Dan fran we're going to
- 13:41Speaker 1: Minnesota where we're going. So we're definitely involved in that
- 13:44Speaker 1: and praying for those guys. But let's get back into
- 13:46Speaker 1: these rams with these matchups. Man up? Is this this
- 13:56Speaker 1: man up on Hawk Talk starting the quarter back like
- 14:00Speaker 1: we normally do. Baker Mayfield taken on his Seahawks defense,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and Baker's had quite a year. Bump started at Carolina
- 14:06Speaker 1: where he was in a battle Sam Darnold for the job.
- 14:08Speaker 1: He got the job. He's going up in the week
- 14:11Speaker 1: win against his former team, in Cleveland. They lose on
- 14:13Speaker 1: the last second field goal, and boy, it was all
- 14:15Speaker 1: downhill from there. And his five starts with the Panthers,
- 14:18Speaker 1: he never threw for more than two hundred and thirty
- 14:20Speaker 1: five yards, never threw more than one touchdown, never completed
- 14:23Speaker 1: more than sixty two percent of his passes in any
- 14:25Speaker 1: of those games. Ended his time with Carolina at thirteen
- 14:28Speaker 1: hundred yards plus passing, six touchdowns, six picks, sacked at
- 14:32Speaker 1: nineteen times, he got hurt, was on the bench. They
- 14:35Speaker 1: decided to move on. Then he got picked up by
- 14:37Speaker 1: the Rams a week fourteen, at two days of practice,
- 14:40Speaker 1: is thrown in on Thursday night, football leads them on
- 14:42Speaker 1: a game winning drive to beat the Raiders. And you know,
- 14:46Speaker 1: he's played decent football in ne Sean McVeigh two and
- 14:48Speaker 1: two records, including a huge blot win over the Broncos,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and Baker's done a lot better at least taking care
- 14:54Speaker 1: of the football. He's got seven hundred three passing yards,
- 14:56Speaker 1: four touchdowns, and went interception sack twelve times. The Rams
- 15:00Speaker 1: you mentioned earlier, worst off one of the worst offenses
- 15:02Speaker 1: in the NFL, thirty first, twenty seventh in passing sehawks
- 15:07Speaker 1: for twenty seven total defense and seventeen begins to pass,
- 15:09Speaker 1: So it'll be interesting. Man, Baker's playing better football, but
- 15:11Speaker 1: I think the Seahawks can get after him. It's kind
- 15:13Speaker 1: of fitting into the season because there's so much talk
- 15:15Speaker 1: about Baker quarterbacking this football team, and I'm happy the
- 15:19Speaker 1: Heehawks kept their face in. Gino Smith. Yeah, I don't
- 15:23Speaker 1: like Hawks playing backups late in the season. Last year,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I was with bidness in the butt a little bit.
- 15:29Speaker 1: But you know what, it's a new year, it's a
- 15:31Speaker 1: new defense. Get after Baker Mayfield. Let's talk about our quarterback,
- 15:35Speaker 1: man Gino bounce back against the Raiders. Man. After two
- 15:37Speaker 1: tough games against the forty nine ers in the Chiefs,
- 15:39Speaker 1: he was eighteen to twenty nine, one eighty three, two
- 15:41Speaker 1: touchdowns and a QB rating of one oh three point one.
- 15:45Speaker 1: He's one touchdown away from joining two of the greats
- 15:49Speaker 1: here in Cilla. Dave Craig and Russell Wilson asked quarterbacks
- 15:53Speaker 1: to have thirty touchdowns in the season, which is crazy.
- 15:56Speaker 1: No expectations for Gino coming into the season. Now he's
- 15:59Speaker 1: on the verge of breaking records. In hard records, you
- 16:02Speaker 1: don't just toss thirty touchdowns in the season. Man, it's
- 16:05Speaker 1: awesome to see, and he can have the record for
- 16:08Speaker 1: the highest completion rape for a Seattle quarterback. He's leading
- 16:11Speaker 1: the NFL completing seventy percent of his passes. He's seventh
- 16:15Speaker 1: in the league when it comes to tousing that ball
- 16:18Speaker 1: around the yard four thousand and sixty nine yards. He's
- 16:21Speaker 1: fourth with total touchdowns twenty nine, fifth and pass rating
- 16:24Speaker 1: in six in q b R. I remember that that
- 16:28Speaker 1: seventy percent was a number that pet Care always wanted
- 16:31Speaker 1: Russell Wilson to hit. Right, He's I would love for
- 16:34Speaker 1: Russell to complete seventy percent of his passes. It's crazy
- 16:38Speaker 1: that Gineo is on the verge of breaking the franchise
- 16:41Speaker 1: record for yards, which was held by Russell Wilson, and
- 16:45Speaker 1: then completing seventy percent of his passes, which Russell Wilson
- 16:49Speaker 1: never did. Man, he also has twenty nine touchdowns this year.
- 16:53Speaker 1: He's had twenty eight touchdowns in four years with the Jets.
- 16:56Speaker 1: This has to be one of the candidates for Comeback
- 16:59Speaker 1: Player of Year. He's the Pro Bowler. He deserved all
- 17:02Speaker 1: that stuff. He's going up against the number seventeen defense
- 17:05Speaker 1: in the league. So something tells me he needs with
- 17:07Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty one yards to have that Franchise
- 17:10Speaker 1: Braggord for most past passing yards in franchise history. He
- 17:14Speaker 1: should get it right. Numbers say that he should get it,
- 17:18Speaker 1: but we shall see him. Oh yeah, I don't. I mean,
- 17:20Speaker 1: it'd be criminal if Geno's not comeback Player of the
- 17:23Speaker 1: Year after what he's done and where the expectations were
- 17:25Speaker 1: for him this season. I mean, you mentioned all the
- 17:27Speaker 1: numbers he's balled out. He threw for over three to
- 17:29Speaker 1: sixty against him last time, so I agree with you.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I think he's gonna get that done. Now. The other match,
- 17:34Speaker 1: I want to look at cam Makers taking on the
- 17:36Speaker 1: Seahawks front seven. Cam's had a crazy year. We documented
- 17:39Speaker 1: it the first time we played them, almost trade there
- 17:42Speaker 1: only the year, inactive for two games because of differences
- 17:44Speaker 1: with the coach. And now he's come on strong last
- 17:46Speaker 1: couple of weeks. He's reigned for one hundred and twenty
- 17:48Speaker 1: three yards or nineteen carriages just passed Sunday, giving him
- 17:51Speaker 1: back to back one hundred yard games for the first
- 17:53Speaker 1: time in his career. He also had a forty two
- 17:55Speaker 1: yard run in the first quarter, which was the rams
- 17:57Speaker 1: longest run of the season. I feel like Ken already
- 18:00Speaker 1: has sixty four sixty plus yard runs. That just kind
- 18:03Speaker 1: of shows you how explosed of their offense has been
- 18:05Speaker 1: this year. And prior to the last two weeks, Acres
- 18:08Speaker 1: only had fifteen or more carries in two games, so
- 18:10Speaker 1: they're really letting him run that rock. On the season,
- 18:13Speaker 1: hundred sixty seven carries, six hundred and eighty two yards,
- 18:16Speaker 1: seven touchdowns. Despite that, the Rams were twenty ninth in
- 18:19Speaker 1: the NFL at rushing with ninety four per yards per game.
- 18:23Speaker 1: On the Seahawks side, we's well documented they couldn't stop
- 18:26Speaker 1: the run for a solid five weeks or given about
- 18:28Speaker 1: two hundred yards on the ground. Last two weeks they
- 18:30Speaker 1: gave up seventy seven yards to the Chiefs seventy five
- 18:33Speaker 1: yards to the Jets. It was a fifth time this
- 18:35Speaker 1: year the Seahawks held an opponent under one hundred yards,
- 18:37Speaker 1: so they've clearly figured something out in the run game.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Not enough to undo the damage done earlier in the year,
- 18:43Speaker 1: so they're still thirtieth against the run, but I feel
- 18:46Speaker 1: good about this matchup for the Seahawks. The Rams are
- 18:48Speaker 1: running the ball the one thing I hope is, you know, defensively,
- 18:52Speaker 1: the Seahawks are a little bit more ready for their
- 18:53Speaker 1: rushing attack. Sean McVeigh was very creative and the way
- 18:56Speaker 1: they attacked the Seahawks in that first game because they
- 18:58Speaker 1: were still able to run the ball first game, at
- 19:00Speaker 1: least early on. So, you know, I think the Seahawks
- 19:03Speaker 1: have figured some stuff out. Guys are playing well, so
- 19:04Speaker 1: hopefully the Seahawks can, you know, figure out how to
- 19:07Speaker 1: replace Jordan Brooks and getting him stopped. The thing that
- 19:11Speaker 1: encourages me about Jordan Brooks now being out as I
- 19:13Speaker 1: watched a film and Tearner music not play bad, but
- 19:15Speaker 1: he played. He played okay man, So we'll see what
- 19:18Speaker 1: happens there. But let's look at another matchup, Leonard Floyd
- 19:21Speaker 1: versus Seahawks offensive line. The Rams have been struggling this year.
- 19:24Speaker 1: A lot of it is because of Aaron Donald and
- 19:26Speaker 1: he hasn't played most of the season. The last time
- 19:28Speaker 1: these guys met, the Rams were with the tenth ranked
- 19:30Speaker 1: offense in the league. But things have changed a little bit.
- 19:33Speaker 1: But something that hasn't changed is that Lena Floyd is
- 19:36Speaker 1: still a baller man. Fifty three tackles excuse me. Fifty
- 19:39Speaker 1: three tackles, a SAX nine TFLs is a sax least
- 19:42Speaker 1: the team, and he's two and a half away from
- 19:45Speaker 1: a career high. In six games against Seattle, Leonard Floyd
- 19:50Speaker 1: has been tearing it up against the Hawks. He has
- 19:52Speaker 1: twenty three tackles, six sacks, six TFLs, nine quarterback hits.
- 19:56Speaker 1: He was held and checked the first time around, only
- 19:59Speaker 1: registering the tackling a QB him. But we all know,
- 20:02Speaker 1: like Leonard Floyd got paid because of what he did
- 20:04Speaker 1: against the Seahawks over the past year. So there's something
- 20:08Speaker 1: about that jersey that gets him going. You gotta contain
- 20:10Speaker 1: this guy, yeah, man, Leonardford's scary. You asked Russell Wilson
- 20:14Speaker 1: about that. He just gave this team fits over the years.
- 20:17Speaker 1: So great job by the offensive behind that first game.
- 20:19Speaker 1: So when they can repeat that performance coming up, then
- 20:22Speaker 1: on our side, look at our running back ken Walker
- 20:25Speaker 1: taking on this Rams front seven and a special guy
- 20:27Speaker 1: number fifty four for us. He's now forty five, Bobby Wagner.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Ken Walker's also coming off back to back hunter yard
- 20:34Speaker 1: rushing games for the first time in his young career
- 20:36Speaker 1: one hundred and thirty three yards last week against New
- 20:38Speaker 1: York in a hundred and seven against the Kansas City Chiefs,
- 20:41Speaker 1: and Walker's just had a lot of opportunities man the
- 20:43Speaker 1: last two weeks, carrying the ball twenty six times in
- 20:45Speaker 1: twenty three it's only second time all season. Then he's
- 20:48Speaker 1: had consecutive games with twenty or more carries, So they're
- 20:50Speaker 1: definitely giving him that rock. You know, sixty four yards
- 20:54Speaker 1: away from a thousand, nine thirty six nine touchdowns on
- 20:58Speaker 1: the season, So he's balling out a bump on the
- 21:00Speaker 1: other side. Bobby Wagner, you mentioned it earlier, had one
- 21:04Speaker 1: of the best games of his career, you know, against
- 21:06Speaker 1: the Seahawks. In that first game, you know, he had
- 21:08Speaker 1: seven tackles, two sacks, a pick on the season. You
- 21:12Speaker 1: look at the numbers, he's having one of his best
- 21:13Speaker 1: years statistically. I'm not saying he's better now than he
- 21:16Speaker 1: was then, but one hundred and thirty three tackles, six sacks,
- 21:19Speaker 1: two yants, five passes defended, nine TfL. So Bobby's playing well. Man.
- 21:23Speaker 1: You mentioned it earlier, his six sacks or career high,
- 21:26Speaker 1: So there's gonna be a lot of emotion. And but
- 21:29Speaker 1: when he comes out of the tunnel. There's gonna get
- 21:31Speaker 1: a standing ovation. When he walks out for the coin toss,
- 21:34Speaker 1: there's fans are gonna show him some love, and then
- 21:35Speaker 1: once that game kicks off there be rooting for the
- 21:37Speaker 1: team in blue. But I expect him to get a
- 21:40Speaker 1: huge ovation and it's gonna it means a lot to him.
- 21:42Speaker 1: You said it, it means a lot to him. I'm
- 21:43Speaker 1: really looking forward to see how animated he's gonna be
- 21:46Speaker 1: on the sideline. Yeah, his legacy was built here and
- 21:49Speaker 1: people understand that, and it didn't end the way that
- 21:52Speaker 1: both sides wanted it to end. But I don't think
- 21:55Speaker 1: there's too much love laws, especially when he's coming back home.
- 21:58Speaker 1: He wants to try to play upset. Once the ballocks
- 22:02Speaker 1: kig Bobby, I no longer have leve for for about
- 22:04Speaker 1: an hour and then we're good to go. All right.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Next matchup, we got DK versus Jalen. Whenever these two
- 22:10Speaker 1: link up, man sit down, get comfortable, is going to
- 22:14Speaker 1: be a battle. The last time they linked up, DK
- 22:16Speaker 1: won that battle had exceptions for one twenty seven and
- 22:19Speaker 1: caught the game winner on Jalen Ramsey. Nice little slant
- 22:22Speaker 1: in the end zone on the year DK is having
- 22:25Speaker 1: another solid season eighty seven receptions, one thousand yards and
- 22:28Speaker 1: six touchdowns. Now, these guys have met a few times.
- 22:31Speaker 1: The last six times they met, these are the numbers
- 22:35Speaker 1: we got. DK has had seventy eight yards, twenty eight yards,
- 22:38Speaker 1: fifty nine yards, ninety six yards and two touchdowns, ninety
- 22:42Speaker 1: eight yards and two touchdowns fifty two yards and most recently,
- 22:45Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty seven yards one touchdown on eight targets. Now,
- 22:49Speaker 1: let's talk about Jalen Ramsey, one of the best corners
- 22:51Speaker 1: in the game, having a decent season. Eighty three tackles,
- 22:54Speaker 1: two interceptions, five passes defended, three force fumbles, four TFLs
- 23:00Speaker 1: in two sex the last six games against Seattle in
- 23:03Speaker 1: DK metcast, he's had four tackles, two one one pass offended.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Another game where three tackles, one pass offended. Another game
- 23:09Speaker 1: four tackles, one pass offended, five tackles, two passes defend him,
- 23:13Speaker 1: and six tackles the last time they linked up on
- 23:15Speaker 1: the fourth no passive defended. DK is being the better
- 23:19Speaker 1: of Jalen Ramsey as of LABE, but we know how
- 23:22Speaker 1: this goes. He can still impact the game even if
- 23:25Speaker 1: he's night getting interceptions and passes defended. He's just that
- 23:28Speaker 1: good of a player. But I like the matchup, especially
- 23:30Speaker 1: with where DK is in his development as a pro
- 23:33Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, and you know they're gonna be talking, man,
- 23:36Speaker 1: you know they're gonna be talking. And and DK's coming
- 23:38Speaker 1: off a game where he had one reception for three
- 23:41Speaker 1: yards and his worst statistical game of the season. I
- 23:44Speaker 1: believe he had another game early in his rookie season
- 23:47Speaker 1: where he had one catch for six yards. But so
- 23:50Speaker 1: DK is gonna be ready to go. That's that's for
- 23:52Speaker 1: dang sure. And it's really tough too, because, yes, Sauce
- 23:55Speaker 1: is a great player and he played well last week,
- 23:57Speaker 1: but it wasn't like they run up against each other
- 23:59Speaker 1: fifth times and he locked him up every single time.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I think DK would probably tell you, Bump, he probably
- 24:04Speaker 1: should have caught that fadeball on the sideline. I believe
- 24:07Speaker 1: that was in his hands. It was a tough catch,
- 24:09Speaker 1: but I feel like he would tell you he should
- 24:10Speaker 1: make that play. And then another time a couple of
- 24:13Speaker 1: balls are uncatchable. So I'm looking for him to have
- 24:15Speaker 1: a huge game. A lot of people need to break
- 24:17Speaker 1: some records. You know, Gene's got all that going on
- 24:19Speaker 1: and I again anytime. Obviously, if Jalen Ramsey was on
- 24:23Speaker 1: our team, I would love him just the player he is,
- 24:26Speaker 1: the attitude, but he's not. So I'm riding with our
- 24:29Speaker 1: guy and I want DK to beat him. I want
- 24:32Speaker 1: him to beat him multiple times, you know, And that's
- 24:34Speaker 1: just what it is. But should be should be a
- 24:37Speaker 1: fun matchup. We've gone through all those matchups where we're
- 24:40Speaker 1: gonna tell you how to see us from get this done,
- 24:41Speaker 1: path to victory. After forty five waits for the staff,
- 24:47Speaker 1: Michael Dickson puts it down. That kick is away. If
- 24:50Speaker 1: that kick is gone, it's a path to victory. I'm
- 24:56Speaker 1: Hawk talk. Take care of the ball, Bump. Last week
- 25:00Speaker 1: it was the first time all season the Seahawks didn't
- 25:02Speaker 1: turn the ball over. Every time I hear that, I'm
- 25:03Speaker 1: just like, wait what. It doesn't feel like they were
- 25:06Speaker 1: turning the ball over like crazy at the beginning of
- 25:07Speaker 1: the year. But it's true. So keep the street alive,
- 25:10Speaker 1: Bump on Sunday. Take care of that football. Yeah, man,
- 25:14Speaker 1: keep that street going. Making two games in a row,
- 25:16Speaker 1: and like every week, you just gotta run it two
- 25:18Speaker 1: weeks in a row. Man ken Walker is looking healthier
- 25:21Speaker 1: and healthier. If he can look like he did last week,
- 25:23Speaker 1: I can see him going over one hundred again. And
- 25:27Speaker 1: then just don't let the Rams hang around them like
- 25:30Speaker 1: the longer they're within striking distance, the more confidence they get,
- 25:35Speaker 1: the more loose they play, the more the start talk.
- 25:38Speaker 1: They start talking. That's their game. So run the football.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Man knock these guys all quick, fast start. Last week,
- 25:44Speaker 1: I'll take a three play was seventy five yard drive
- 25:48Speaker 1: to open a game for show? Oh yeah, any day
- 25:50Speaker 1: of the week, and man shut down this Rams offense.
- 25:53Speaker 1: The Rams have been, you know, last year and the
- 25:56Speaker 1: last couple of years have been the greatest show on
- 25:58Speaker 1: turf Part two. You know what I'm saying. Cooper Cup
- 26:00Speaker 1: breaking every single record, Staffords slaying that thing. Ye know, Jefferson,
- 26:04Speaker 1: yet you had Odell Beckham Junior. That's not where you're
- 26:07Speaker 1: gonna see on Sundayn. You're gonna see Baker Bayfield. You're
- 26:09Speaker 1: gonna se Van Jefferson, You're gonna see two you at
- 26:11Speaker 1: Well Strownick. Those are not the same caliber guys. And
- 26:14Speaker 1: the Seahawks need to shut down this offense and get
- 26:16Speaker 1: after Baker. He hasn't been able to make a lot
- 26:18Speaker 1: of plays down the field the season. Let's not make
- 26:20Speaker 1: this game be that first one and then shut down game.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Akers Man Seahawks and found something in a run game.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Then he continue to be successful. There. Akers is running
- 26:29Speaker 1: with some confidence, back to back one hundred yard games,
- 26:31Speaker 1: and you know, he's running for his football life and
- 26:34Speaker 1: proving to everyone that he should be the number one back.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So that's gonna be a tall task. You know, it's
- 26:38Speaker 1: easier said than done, but that's what the Seahaws needed
- 26:40Speaker 1: to get this win. This is a playoff game, goal out,
- 26:45Speaker 1: a line assigned correctly, make the plays, beat the Rams,
- 26:51Speaker 1: and then sit back and relax and see what happens.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Is the only good thing about the Lions playing late
- 26:55Speaker 1: is that the Hawks and sit back and be like,
- 26:57Speaker 1: all right, let's see, let's let's be a part all
- 27:00Speaker 1: the drama that's gonna happen. Let's see how this unfolds,
- 27:03Speaker 1: and just hope that the football gods bless you and
- 27:07Speaker 1: they give you that push into the bayoffs man, because
- 27:09Speaker 1: they've earned it. I know it's been in the season,
- 27:12Speaker 1: but no one expected even this from the Hawks, and
- 27:15Speaker 1: they put themselves in good position. Yeah, man, it's gonna
- 27:17Speaker 1: be you know, obviously we're assuming Seaffs will get a victory,
- 27:21Speaker 1: and we're gonna be in that postgame show, and that
- 27:23Speaker 1: game is gonna be honest, it's gonna be hard to focus.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna be locked in. You're about to be locked in.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Come on, Detroit, come on, Jared Goff, come on, Dan Campbell,
- 27:30Speaker 1: bite them Mankles, bite them, knecast, do what you gotta do.
- 27:33Speaker 1: That's why they've been hitting all season looking forward to it.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Remember you can hear us anywhere seehaws, I can on Apple, Podcast, Spotify,
- 27:40Speaker 1: sit your Series, XM, and more. Seahawks taking on the
- 27:43Speaker 1: Rams in the regular season finale. Hopefully we will join
- 27:47Speaker 1: you guys next week on Monday, talking about not only
- 27:50Speaker 1: a Seaoff victory, but hopefully getting ready for the NFL playoffs.
- 27:54Speaker 1: He's Michael Bomba's NASA joby. We will talk to you
- 27:56Speaker 1: next week
