- 0:00Chapter 6 from the book of Zechariah.
- 0:03This one probably has more questions than answers, but
- 0:07there are ties throughout the Bible, so I'll point those out
- 0:11as we get through. It's a short chapter, but
- 0:13there's a lot of talk, a lot to talk about.
- 0:16So let's get started with the prayer.
- 0:19Dear Lord, please let the Holy Spirit open our eyes and ears
- 0:23and give us wisdom and understanding from the vision
- 0:27that Zechariah saw and documented and let us learn from
- 0:31it. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
- 0:34So this is titled 4 Chariots. I'm going to just read it all
- 0:40because it's a pretty short one, and then I'll come back and talk
- 0:43about each area. So I looked up again and there
- 0:48before me were 4 Chariots coming out from between two mountains,
- 0:53mountains of bronze. The first chariot had red
- 0:56horses, the second black, the third white, and the 4th
- 1:00dappled, all of them powerful. I asked the Angel who was
- 1:04speaking to me. What are these my Lord?
- 1:06The Angel answered me. These are the four spirits of
- 1:09heaven going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of
- 1:13the whole world. The one with the black horses is
- 1:16going toward the North Country, the one with the white horses
- 1:20toward the West, and the one with the dappled horses toward
- 1:23the South. When the powerful horses went
- 1:26out, they were straining to go throughout the earth, and he
- 1:30said go throughout the earth. So they went throughout the
- 1:34earth. Then he called to me, Look,
- 1:36those going towards the North Country have given my spirit
- 1:41rest in the land of the North. The next section is titled A
- 1:47Crown for Joshua. For understanding purposes, I
- 1:51guess the word of the Lord came to me.
- 1:54Take silver and gold from the Exiles Heldea, Tobaja and Jediya
- 2:00who have arrived from Babylon. Go the same day to the House of
- 2:05Josiah, son of Zephaniah. Take the silver and gold and
- 2:09make a crown and set it on the head of the high priest Joshua
- 2:14son of Josadac. Tell him this is what the Lord
- 2:18Almighty says. Here is the man whose name is
- 2:22the branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the
- 2:28temple of the Lord. It is he who will build the
- 2:32temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed with majesty and will
- 2:36sit and rule on His throne, and he will be a priest on his
- 2:42throne and there will be harmony between the two.
- 2:47The crown will be given to Heldaya Tobajaya Jedediah and
- 2:52Hen son of Zephaniah as a memorial in the temple of the
- 2:57Lord. Those who are far away will come
- 3:00and help to rebuild the temple of the Lord, and you will know
- 3:04that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
- 3:07This will happen if you diligently obey the Lord your
- 3:11God. And that's the end of chapter 6.
- 3:15So let's talk about it. I'll go through the study
- 3:18Bibles, questions and answers 1st.
- 3:20So chapter 6, the Do the colors of these horses have special
- 3:26meaning? The colored horses pulling the
- 3:29Chariots, which are symbols of power, suggest the powerful
- 3:33forces through which judgment comes Red for war, black for
- 3:38famine, white for triumph, and dappled for plague.
- 3:42And it's referencing Revelation 6 verses one through 8.
- 3:47And I want to pause right there because it could be and, and
- 3:52scripture does interpret scripture, but I also think
- 3:56that, you know, it's, we need to make sure that we understand
- 4:00this is an assumption. It's trying to make sense of
- 4:05what these are. The scripture clearly says that
- 4:10these Chariots of horses are four spirits of heaven.
- 4:15And multiple times we've seen spirits, horses being symbolized
- 4:20as spirits. In the 1st chapter of Zechariah,
- 4:24it talks about these horses and the man in the Myrtle, Myrtle
- 4:28trees. And those horses were the
- 4:31spirits that roamed the earth and report saw everything was at
- 4:37peace at that time. And, and then we see the four
- 4:41horses in the Book of Revelation that are tied to the four
- 4:47initial seals of Revelation and they are in a different order.
- 4:52So there's similarities and there's differences and, and
- 4:57there, yeah, there's lots of differences.
- 4:59So and the same thing for the book of the chapter 1 of
- 5:05Zechariah, because it said in Zechariah chapter one that the
- 5:10horses were, I believe read. Oh gosh, now I can't remember.
- 5:16I think it was sorrow colored and red.
- 5:20So they didn't match up with Revelation is the point I'm
- 5:22getting to and nor does this one match up with the Book of
- 5:27Revelation. So there are three that match
- 5:31up. Three that match up are red,
- 5:33white and black. But this 4th one in Zechariah 6
- 5:38is dappled or spotted, which is another interesting thing that
- 5:42I'll talk about a little bit more.
- 5:44But the one in the Book of Revelation is called a chloros
- 5:48color, which is like a lime green or a light green color, a
- 5:52green color, chloros meaning green.
- 5:55So it, it's different from the Hebrew word here that is used
- 6:01for the 4th horse, which is spotted and I'm going to talk
- 6:04more about that later. So again, it's, it's nice to
- 6:09have there's some similarities. The one thing we can say for
- 6:11sure based on Scripture is that these horses represent spirits.
- 6:16That's what we can say for sure what these spirits are.
- 6:20The meaning, obviously that this question and answer derived the
- 6:24meaning from is from the Book of Revelation because it says, you
- 6:27know, like the first, the White Horse goes out to conquer, then
- 6:31the red horse goes out in the seals.
- 6:33The red horse represents war, and then the Black Horse
- 6:39represents famine, according to this.
- 6:41But it's also like scarcity. It's just saying that things are
- 6:45super expensive. Like high inflation is the way I
- 6:48look at it, and scarcity does that.
- 6:51But it seems to me that it's really talking about inflation,
- 6:56like inflated prices for everything, because it's talking
- 7:01about how much of the transaction medium is required
- 7:08for something very basic. That's what it talks about in
- 7:11the Book of Revelation. So yes, scarcity leads to high
- 7:16prices at supply and demand, but ultimately it seems like it's
- 7:20inflation more so than famine. It doesn't talk about like
- 7:25starving people in that chapter, just talks about how expensive
- 7:28things are. And, and so again, this is just,
- 7:34you know, we should really carefully read Scripture and be
- 7:38careful about what has been, what is being taught or from
- 7:44people throughout the ages. It's, it's good to hear what
- 7:48they have to say and then compare it to Scripture and make
- 7:51sure that their assumptions match up with Scripture because
- 7:54we can learn a lot from that. It'll save us time and we'll
- 7:56say, oh, OK, that makes sense. But then there's other times
- 7:59where I think we can be LED astray.
- 8:01If we just listen to somebody's summation of what's going to
- 8:06happen and we're not looking at the actual word of God, we can
- 8:12miss it. We can see something that's not
- 8:15there or our minds, you know, will believe something that
- 8:19somebody told us rather than what's in literally in the
- 8:22Bible. So again, there's different
- 8:26horses that are in Zechariah 1, Zechariah 6, and the Book of
- 8:30Revelation, but there's similar horses that are in all three
- 8:33also. OK, so then what are these four
- 8:38spirits of heaven? The word translated spirits also
- 8:42means wins, perhaps suggesting that God's judgment will cover
- 8:47the whole world. Again, that's somebody's
- 8:51interpretation because when it talks about going out throughout
- 8:54the earth, that's what the translation, the NIV
- 8:57translation, says. But if you look at the Hebrew
- 8:59word, it's eris, which means it could mean the earth, but it
- 9:04could also just mean the land. So it could be a smaller scale
- 9:07or a broader scale, and Scripture doesn't really clarify
- 9:12that yet. It just says over the land.
- 9:14So this could be localized. We don't know.
- 9:18All right, what happened to the red horse?
- 9:21We don't know. It may be that God is holding
- 9:23some judgement in reserve, or it could be that when symbolism is
- 9:28used, all details do not necessarily have to fade
- 9:31together logically. Well, I think God is a God of
- 9:34order, and I think that maybe he just didn't.
- 9:39It wasn't part of what he was expressing to them at that time.
- 9:44And I don't, I don't know, but we can't make assumptions on
- 9:49God. When the powerful horses went
- 9:52out, they were straining to go throughout the earth.
- 9:54Actually, I don't know why I started reading that.
- 9:56Why did God's Spirit find rest in the north?
- 9:59The North Country speaks of Babylon.
- 10:02Again, this is an assumption in the Bible because of the way.
- 10:06Well, here in the Bible, Babylon often represents the rule of
- 10:10evil. This may mean that God's Spirit
- 10:12found peace because Babylon was finally judged.
- 10:16OK, that's an interpretation. Again, the assumption that this
- 10:22is Babylon. Babylon was actually to the east
- 10:26of Israel, I guess the northeast.
- 10:28But the way that the landscape, the way that the earth is
- 10:33formed, they always had to come down through the north, just
- 10:36like Assyria came down through the north.
- 10:39So it's like the enemies came to attack Israel from the north,
- 10:43typically because of the way the land is structured.
- 10:48And that was the way they came in.
- 10:50So it, it could be that, but it could also mean literally what
- 10:58it says. Now, why wouldn't it necessarily
- 11:02mean that? It could be the I'll give you
- 11:05some reasons why too. Why, why is it not that it's
- 11:09thought to be either somewhere in the Mediterranean and perhaps
- 11:13Turkey that's coming. I don't know.
- 11:16Just a thought that needs to be explored.
- 11:19So don't automatically think it's Babylon.
- 11:22Consider that it might be a Syria and part of Assyria.
- 11:26Ancient Assyria was Turkey. So we just need to keep our
- 11:30minds open because I think that's what happened when Jesus
- 11:33arrived the first time is that the teachers were teaching
- 11:38something and therefore the people didn't see the truth when
- 11:41he actually arrived because the teachers were saying, no, that's
- 11:44not it, He's not the Messiah. All this stuff.
- 11:47Well, we don't want to have teachers telling us things that
- 11:52make us miss the truth about God.
- 11:55So that's another reason why it's important to be in the Word
- 11:58and to also do a deep dive, especially when it comes to
- 12:01prophecy, into the original Hebrew, to really understand it
- 12:06and also looking throughout the Bible to see where there's some
- 12:12similarities or something. So who were Heldaya, Tobajaya,
- 12:16and Jediaya? These men were presumably envoys
- 12:21from the Jews who had remained in Babylon.
- 12:24We know nothing else about them. Who is the branch?
- 12:28The Messiah, the servant of God, called the branch to suggest the
- 12:32fruitfulness of his life. The same analogy for the Messiah
- 12:36was used by other prophets as well in Isaiah chapter 4 verse 2
- 12:42and Jeremiah chapter 23 verse 5. How or could a priest also be a
- 12:49king in Israel? Priest had to belong to the
- 12:52tribe of Levi. Kings were to come from the line
- 12:57of David, from the tribe of Judah.
- 13:00A priest, therefore could not also be a king.
- 13:04This was apparently a symbolic statement that pointed to the
- 13:08Messiah. Who was It says who was prophet,
- 13:12priest and king. I'd say who is prophet, priest
- 13:16and king? So why give the crown to four
- 13:20men? This was a symbolic action.
- 13:23The crown was given in their name to be put on display as a
- 13:26memorial in the temple, a sign of their alliance with the Jews
- 13:30in Jerusalem. Perhaps this also implies that
- 13:33everyone near and far can participate in the blessings of
- 13:36the Messiah. And the reference for that is
- 13:39Genesis 12 verse 3 and Matthew 28 verse 19.
- 13:44So that is the summation of everything that's in the in the
- 13:48study Bible for this particular chapter.
- 13:52Now we'll get into things that I've discovered in reading this.
- 13:55So we'll go back to the very first verse, which says there
- 14:00were 4 Chariots coming out from between two mountains, mountains
- 14:06of bronze. Well, as far as we know, there
- 14:09aren't any solid bronze mountains out there.
- 14:12So again, this is a vision and it's probably symbolic.
- 14:17And then we can look in the Bible and say like where was
- 14:21bronze talked about before? And we go back to Daniel, who
- 14:26was another prophet in chapter 2.
- 14:29Verses 35 and 45 talk about this.
- 14:33This happened to be King Nebuchadnezzar's dream that
- 14:37Daniel asked God for the interpretation of it and found
- 14:41out that the bronze was representative of a Kingdom.
- 14:48So we know that it was like the, the, I think it was the 3rd
- 14:53Kingdom that was shown to Nebuchadnezzar in his dream.
- 14:59And, and that's significant. I'm going to go back to a sketch
- 15:03that I have in my study Bible, which is helpful.
- 15:05So it's the yes, it's the third Kingdom.
- 15:08And in vision 2, it's the belly and thighs of bronze.
- 15:12So that is like the third Kingdom.
- 15:14And, and that was a clarification.
- 15:16So we know that bronze represents a Kingdom in Daniel's
- 15:20vision in Chapter 7, this third, the beast that is shown is a
- 15:28leopard. Now that's really interesting
- 15:30because it's a leopard is spotted.
- 15:34OK. And then we get to a vision in
- 15:38chapter 8, which is a ram and a goat.
- 15:44And this is talked about like a lot of people talk about this.
- 15:49Oh gosh, I forgot the name of him that Alexander the Great and
- 15:55everybody says it's Alexander the Great.
- 15:57Well, Alexander the Great could have been a foreshadowing of the
- 16:02future because it does say that the, I guess it's the Angel
- 16:07explains to Daniel that don't worry about this right now.
- 16:10This is this is, you know, at the time of the end.
- 16:15So it talks about this battle between the goat and the ram.
- 16:19And if then if we look at the empires that were connected with
- 16:24these, we see that the Ram represents Iran.
- 16:29And it also within that vision it was explained that the Ram
- 16:35represented the Medes and the Persians.
- 16:37And maybe that's why there were the two horns.
- 16:39It was the Medes and the Persians combined together
- 16:43perhaps, and that was a Kingdom that reigned between 6539 BC to
- 16:49330 BC. Then after that, the one who
- 16:52succeeded, and that's why Alexander the Great gets brought
- 16:55into was the goat. The goat triumphed over the land
- 17:00and Alexander the Great made a lot of progress.
- 17:03And and so that does support this, this thought because this
- 17:11was the Kingdom and he and they reigned from 3:30 BC until 146
- 17:16BC. And it's often called the
- 17:19Grecian Empire. But if you look at the Bible, it
- 17:23talks about Yavon and that's the name of the area.
- 17:27And Yavon is actually a modern day Turkey and Greece, the
- 17:35Mediterranean, the Mediterranean area, like all of the coastal
- 17:38lands of the Mediterranean were included in that territory of
- 17:42Yavon. And, and The thing is that I, I
- 17:46just wonder why, you know, Turkey gets left out because
- 17:49everybody thinks about Greece instead of thinking about, well,
- 17:53Turkey, the land of Turkey was part of that Anatolia.
- 17:56And so it's, I think it's very important that we remember that,
- 18:02that Turkey is part of this. So if we have a, a side, if we
- 18:08just compare these, the 3rd Kingdom, could you know, it's a
- 18:12combination of Greece and Turkey, modern day.
- 18:17And this represents the bronze and it's the leopard and it's
- 18:22the goat. And and then we can see that the
- 18:27bronze is a mountain. Now a mountain is a literal
- 18:32mountain often in the Bible, but then in prophecy, it's often
- 18:35significant of something strong. And I, I believe this is my
- 18:39interpretation that it's something spiritual that there
- 18:42is, you know, in fact, I think at one point it was talked about
- 18:46Satan himself. And then it's also talking about
- 18:49that Jesus will be the final mountain, like he is going to
- 18:53succeed over everything, have victory over everything.
- 18:57And so I think it's like it's something spiritual and it could
- 19:02also be tied to different lands. In fact, this just came to my
- 19:08mind as I'm talking. I'm thinking about the
- 19:10description of Mystery Babylon and it says she sits on 7
- 19:15mountains and they talk about hills.
- 19:19Well, what if it's like 7 spirits?
- 19:22What if there are 7 spiritual things?
- 19:25And what if those seven spiritual things are those seven
- 19:28nations that we just talked about in the last chapter, like
- 19:32the Hivites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, all
- 19:37of those ites? You know that that we reference
- 19:42because it was this is when God let Israel triumph over them and
- 19:47he said Israel triumphed over them.
- 19:49They were seven nations that were stronger.
- 19:51So does this tie back? Is there symbolism?
- 19:54Is there a spirit behind those seven different countries that
- 19:59were referenced a long time ago? And could that be this like
- 20:04Mystery Babylon prostitute that sits on these hills like that
- 20:09she is like over somehow, like, you know, overseeing these
- 20:15different entities Because Paul talks about in Ephesians chapter
- 20:206, verse 12, about how our Russell is not against flesh and
- 20:23blood, but it's against the powers and the principalities in
- 20:26the heavenly realms, the powers of darkness in the heavenly
- 20:29realms. And and so they have.
- 20:32And again, the Book of Enoch, which we can't rely on fully,
- 20:36but it does say that there were angels who disobeyed God and
- 20:41interacted with human beings and created the Nephilim, which were
- 20:48the people of these seven nations.
- 20:51Because it talks about that's where the giants were.
- 20:54The Nephilim were these things. And that's when that's why God
- 20:57said, wipe them out. Everybody says, well, why would
- 21:00a God, you know, of love tell somebody like Saul wipe out
- 21:04everybody? Well, it's because they were the
- 21:07offspring of the fallen angels. That's why the flood happened,
- 21:11happened because of the fallen angels that were corrupting
- 21:14mankind, making it impossible for people to be in God's
- 21:20Kingdom in the future. Because they were corrupted even
- 21:23more than sin. They were corrupted by angelic
- 21:26beings and they were kind of deformed.
- 21:30They were giants. They were unusual people.
- 21:32They were, there was something wrong with them.
- 21:34They had one said it had, they had six fingers.
- 21:37So there was not, it was probably like an abomination to
- 21:41God. This is not what God created.
- 21:43This was a, a mixing of genetics that should have never happened.
- 21:49It was never God's intention. And yet the evil ones thought
- 21:53we're going to destroy mankind. So God put an end to it.
- 21:58And that's why the flood happened.
- 21:59He's like, I'm going to wipe out all of the these evil plans, yet
- 22:03my, my will prevails. And I'm going to do it this way
- 22:06through Noah and his family. So evil is always coming against
- 22:10God and thinking that it's going to succeed, but it's not because
- 22:15God is God. He's the creator.
- 22:18He is the most powerful and these this is deception.
- 22:22I don't know if why it seems so stupid.
- 22:25It seems like there's no wisdom here why anyone would even ever
- 22:30try that. So anyway, let's get back to the
- 22:36scripture bronze. So bronze could very well
- 22:40represent, and again, this is an assumption, it's just based on
- 22:44scripture, based on Daniel's visions, but it could perhaps
- 22:48represent Turkey or Greece or something in the Mediterranean.
- 22:52And this is very similar to what Daniel, I'm going to read
- 22:56something that Daniel 2:45. This is the meaning of the
- 23:02vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human
- 23:09hands. A rock that broke the iron, the
- 23:13bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold. 2 pieces.
- 23:18The great God has shown the king what will take place in the
- 23:22future. This dream is true and its
- 23:25interpretation is trustworthy. So this is about Jesus.
- 23:30Jesus is the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human
- 23:35hands. The rock that broke the the rock
- 23:40that had victory over the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver
- 23:43and the gold. All of those materials were in
- 23:47that statue that Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of, but it was this rock
- 23:52that just shattered them to pieces and this will be the
- 23:54final Kingdom. So in Daniel chapter 2 verse 35,
- 23:58it says then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the
- 24:02gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a
- 24:08refreshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without
- 24:14leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the
- 24:18statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.
- 24:25That's Jesus. He became the huge mountain, the
- 24:28huge spiritual strength that filled the whole earth.
- 24:32So it it seems to me that the book of Daniel chapter 2 and
- 24:40other chapters of visions makes helps us understand this
- 24:45perhaps, but we just have to remember exactly what the
- 24:48scripture says in chapter 6 and and then, you know, just keep
- 24:54our eyes open and watch for these things.
- 24:56So it says that there were these Chariots, which we know that the
- 25:04those are actually the four spirits of heaven, because the
- 25:08Angel clarifies that in this chapter.
- 25:11So these are spirits and they come out between the two
- 25:15mountains, the mountains of bronze.
- 25:17So what does that mean coming out between?
- 25:22I don't know. I don't know.
- 25:24It's just that's what it says. Right in the middle of those
- 25:27mountains comes out these Chariots, and these are the four
- 25:30horses, chariot horses, and they're red, black, white, and
- 25:35dappled. So red, black, and white match
- 25:39up with the Book of Revelation, but they are not in the same
- 25:41order. So in this one there, the
- 25:44chariot had red horses, and that typically represents war from
- 25:49Revelation. It does not typically, but
- 25:52that's where you find war. The second black, and again I
- 25:57think it's scarcity or inflation.
- 26:01This talks about famine. The third is the white, which
- 26:06the Book of Revelation talks about a conquest.
- 26:09So it seems like war and then scarcity or inflation and then
- 26:18the conquest. So that would make sense if you
- 26:22would go out in that order, first you'd have war, the war
- 26:26would create the scarcity, make everything very expensive, and
- 26:30then third, you would be able to conquest.
- 26:33Now the 4th, the dappled is, is something that we learned about
- 26:41the only other time where this word is used because I looked it
- 26:47up in the Hebrew and it is used four times in the Bible.
- 26:52And this references Jacob in a dream.
- 26:56So I want to read that to you like Genesis 31, chapter 31 in
- 27:01breeding season. I once had a dream in which I
- 27:05looked up and saw that the male goats mating with the flock were
- 27:11streaked, speckled, or spotted. So the male goats mating with
- 27:17the flock. So that's kind of interesting.
- 27:19And maybe there's some symbolism.
- 27:21Often times I've found that a literal story has symbolic
- 27:26meaning because this actually a multiple symbolic meaning.
- 27:31So and then in verse 12 it says, and he said, look up and see
- 27:37that all the male goats mating with the flock are streaked,
- 27:41speckled or spotted. For I have seen all that Laban
- 27:45has been doing to you. Now this is God talking to
- 27:50David. And I'll just give you like a
- 27:52summary of what that story was about.
- 27:54South Jacob's dream in chapter 31, verses 10 through 13
- 27:58signified divine intervention to ensure his prosperity despite
- 28:04Laban's repeated attempts to defraud him of his wages.
- 28:08The dream revealed that God not just peeled Roz, not just the
- 28:15peeled rods, because that's what he thought.
- 28:17He, I think he put some sticks in their feet or something like
- 28:20that, caused the spotted, speckled and streaked animals to
- 28:26mate, demonstrating God's sovereignty, faithfulness to His
- 28:31promise, and protection over Jacob.
- 28:35So divine intervention versus human effort.
- 28:38While Jacob used striped branches to influence the
- 28:43breeding, the dream confirms that God was the true 'cause of
- 28:48the increase in livestock protection against injustice.
- 28:53God used the dream to show how wait to show He saw how Laban
- 29:02had mistreated Jacob and was correcting the injustice.
- 29:07Fulfillment of the covenant The dream confirmed God's promise to
- 29:11bless Jacob, similar to the covenant made with Abraham and
- 29:15Isaac. Guidance to return.
- 29:17The dream was part of a message directing Jacob to return to his
- 29:22homeland. Theology of the unwanted.
- 29:25The spotted and speckled animals were considered less desirable,
- 29:29highlighting how God blesses what is overlooked or rejected.
- 29:35I mean that just shows the the how beautiful and loving God is
- 29:40and the sovereignty of God as well.
- 29:43So here we see that this horse is dappled.
- 29:47It's spotted. So you know, what is the
- 29:53significance of that? The only thing that we see is
- 29:57that, you know, the 4th horse. I mean that just shows God's
- 29:59sovereignty like God is God is behind this.
- 30:02That's what the way I interpret it.
- 30:05So all of them powerful. And so we know that these are
- 30:09spirits and they come from the presence of the Lord.
- 30:12That's confirmed in verse 5. Then we just have those colors
- 30:17now, the black ones. If that's scarcity, if that's
- 30:20inflation, that's going towards the North Country.
- 30:24Now it says country here. So it doesn't say like the
- 30:26entire earth. So I think that the the way the
- 30:30NIV interprets it when it says they're going out through all
- 30:33the earth, it probably means the land.
- 30:36So this is probably more localized than global.
- 30:40And and then we have the white going towards the West and the
- 30:46dappled towards the South. Now the red is not mentioned.
- 30:50So don't really know what is happening there.
- 30:53But it's it's kind of like, is this referring because of the
- 30:59bronze mountains? Is this referring to Greece and
- 31:02Anatolia or modern day Turkey? Is it referring to that?
- 31:06And if they come from between those two mountains and they go
- 31:11north, is that talking about like Russia or something further
- 31:15north where there's going to be scarcity or famine or something
- 31:20like that? I don't know.
- 31:22Like we just have to be aware of what Scripture says.
- 31:25And then the white horses going towards the West so that again,
- 31:32you know, you need to is, is this talking?
- 31:34Is this using Israel as the basis point?
- 31:39And if so, the land of the north could be the Mediterranean,
- 31:42could be Turkey if if we're starting from Israel, but I
- 31:47don't know. And then going towards the white
- 31:50horses, going towards the West, would that be like, you know,
- 31:56what areas geographically? So I don't know.
- 31:59But it, it, I think we have to look at a map and then also
- 32:02figure out if this was something that has multiple fulfillments
- 32:07or, you know, what countries were actually involved.
- 32:10But what we do know is there's something spiritual happening
- 32:14from the text and there's multiple horses that represent
- 32:17different things in the Book of Revelation that are going out.
- 32:21And this was a vision that was given to Zechariah.
- 32:25So then we get to the part about Joshua.
- 32:28And even though this is a chapter 6, this is not like this
- 32:32is a continuation of chapter two, I think, or Chapter 1
- 32:41maybe. Yeah, Chapter 1, because this
- 32:44like, is a very long vision. And then I looked up and then I
- 32:48saw this, and then I saw that and it.
- 32:50So this goes all the way back to Chapter 1 and and we're on
- 32:54chapter 6. So these are all the things he
- 32:57saw in that vision. And if we remember back in the
- 33:00earlier chapters, it said that Joshua and Zerubabel, Joshua was
- 33:06the high priest, Zerubabel was the governor.
- 33:09They were symbolic of things to come.
- 33:12So they were they were literal men at that time, but they were
- 33:15symbolic of things. So that's how we get the
- 33:19interpretation that the branch is the Messiah is Jesus.
- 33:25And again, Joshua in Hebrew is Yeshua.
- 33:30Jesus's name is Yeshua. The name Jesus came because of
- 33:34phonetics and it should have just been translated Yeshua, but
- 33:38it wasn't. So we we get misunderstandings
- 33:44or we lack the comprehension when translations are a bit off.
- 33:50Like people are doing their best to translate into multiple
- 33:53languages, but there's a little bit something missing.
- 33:58So that's why it's so important to go back to the original
- 34:01Hebrew or Greek. I mean, it would be great to go
- 34:03back to the original Hebrew, but I think a lot of those were
- 34:06destroyed for the New Testament. However, I believe some recently
- 34:10have been found and some are going through the New Testament
- 34:14to see if they're, you know, testing them to see if they're
- 34:17originals or if they're maybe copied from Greek and then
- 34:21translated back to Hebrews. So there's questions about that
- 34:23too. But what most of the Bibles are
- 34:28based on is Hebrew and Greek. Greek for the New Testament and
- 34:32Hebrew for the old. But blueletterbible.org is a
- 34:36great resource to explore deeper in Scripture so where you can go
- 34:42back to those original translations or not
- 34:45translations, but original languages.
- 34:48So anyway, this crown, you know it for it tells about like
- 34:55what's going to eventually happen with Jesus when he
- 34:58returns. He's going to be crown king over
- 35:00the entire world, though, not just an area over the entire
- 35:04world. And and so I see why, because
- 35:10this was a, you know, a was symbolic of things to come.
- 35:14I see why the Jewish people believe the Messiah is going to
- 35:17build the temple because that's what chapter 6, verse 12 says.
- 35:24Here is the man whose name is the branch, and he will branch
- 35:27out from his place and build the temple of the Lord.
- 35:30It is he who will build the temple of the Lord, and he will
- 35:34be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne, and
- 35:38he will be a priest on his throne now and he will be
- 35:43crowned. So this is a priest who is going
- 35:49to, you know, be crowned. And but we had during that time,
- 35:58we had Joshua and Zerubabel. Zerubabel and Joshua was the
- 36:03high priest and Zerubabel was more like the king.
- 36:07And as we read in the questions and answers, there's two
- 36:11different lines. There's the Levitical line and
- 36:14there's the tribe of Judah. Now, what's interesting in my
- 36:16mind is how maybe they can be both and I haven't researched
- 36:21this, but the Levites were allowed to live within each of
- 36:27the 12 tribes. They didn't have their own land,
- 36:31so they were dispersed. So there were Levites in the
- 36:35tribe of Judah. So perhaps that's how Jesus, I
- 36:40don't know. I mean, like, just curious if
- 36:44that, you know, he was certainly from the the line of David, but
- 36:49was he also from the line of the Levites?
- 36:53Just a question that popped into my head right now while I'm
- 36:55talking about this. But anyway, so David was the
- 37:02king, the king, the kingly line, which would be like the
- 37:07Zerubbabel, the governor of the government.
- 37:11But then we also have to remember that he was, he was
- 37:17Incarnate from the Holy Spirit. So there's, there's no higher
- 37:22priest than that, there's no higher anointing than the Spirit
- 37:28of God. So that could be what the
- 37:30blending is of the true Messiah, Jesus, Jesus Christ.
- 37:35So anyway, I think that wraps it up for what we were going to
- 37:42cover for this chapter and hope you found this interesting.
