- 0:41Speaker 1: The Fish of b Hey y'aul, Welcome this week's show.
- 1:02I'm going to take a brief break from our normal format,
- 1:08and it's because we're starting a topic here today which
- 1:14is incredibly important. It is incredibly i will say weighty.
- 1:21It is really going to surprise you a lot. And
- 1:27it's very different than what we've been doing. You know.
- 1:29We've been working through the follow Sparrago's book on the
- 1:33Catechism written in eighteen ninety. We've been working through radio replies.
- 1:37We've been talking about a lot of you know, moral issues.
- 1:41If you've listened to the last two years worth of shows,
- 1:45you should be very well morally instructed right now. So
- 1:49I think we can kind of back up from that
- 1:51a little bit. I'll get back into radio replies next week,
- 1:54and I'll continue to talk about current events and whatever's
- 1:57going on. You know, but this is something you're not
- 2:01going to find elsewhere. For well, literally the entire history
- 2:07of Christianity, people have had been very curious about what
- 2:13Protestants generally termed the end times. I mean, we see
- 2:18in the Gospels when Jesus says, when he predicts the
- 2:22Temple will be destroyed, when he talks about really the
- 2:25end of the world they were living in. Then. You know,
- 2:29a lot of they misunderstood. They thought he meant it
- 2:31was the end of time. Well, no, he meant that
- 2:34literally the Crucifixion would begin the end of Israel and
- 2:39really Judaism. There will be a new religion, a new church,
- 2:43a new Jerusalem, which is the Catholic Church. There would
- 2:47be new everything, okay, and it was the end of
- 2:52that world. Within the next seventy years, Israel was absolutely destroyed.
- 2:56The Temple was destroyed. There were earthquakes, you know, from
- 2:59the time of the Crucifixion, there were you know, what's
- 3:04the word I'm looking for, But the sun gets blocked out. Yeah,
- 3:08I'm sure everybody's screaming in at me right now, but
- 3:10it's just not coming to me. Eclipses, there we go,
- 3:12eclipses of the sun. There were all kinds of events,
- 3:16there were plagues, but eventually Rome just destroyed Israel populated
- 3:23it with Israel's arch enemies, the Philistines, which became the
- 3:26Palestinians because Rome named it Palestinia. Okay, A lot of
- 3:32people get very confused about that. What is Jerusalem? What
- 3:35is Palestine? There is no such thing as Palestine. It's
- 3:38what Rome named Israel, and it stayed that way for
- 3:43nearly two thousand years. The Palestinians, so called, are actually
- 3:47Philistines whose homeland is really more Enjoredan. We don't need
- 3:52to get into that, and we're not going to get
- 3:53into that. That'll be probably the last mention of that
- 3:55for a while. But whether you recognize the modern Israeli
- 4:01state as the ancient state of Israel or not kind
- 4:05of pretty hard to actually. It is a secular nation.
- 4:11It's not even a majority of Jewish nation. But anyway,
- 4:16that's again that's a discussion for another day. I've veered
- 4:19off topic, and I'm going to try to stick to
- 4:21the topic. The disciples at the time when Jesus said
- 4:26that were very concerned when the end of the world
- 4:28was going to be, and for the first few centuries
- 4:32of the church, they literally thought the Second Coming was
- 4:34going to be any day. They thought Jesus was going
- 4:36to come back. We have everything that's described in the
- 4:39Book of Revelations, the battle between good and evil. They
- 4:44fully had had every real reason to believe emperors like
- 4:47Nero were the Antichrist. You know, they believed any day
- 4:52that Jesus was coming back. Well, obviously he didn't. And
- 4:56the church went on and grew, and Rome's read Christianity
- 5:01throughout the entire entirety of Europe and the Asian subcontinent,
- 5:06and eventually Christianity spread all around the world, and we're
- 5:10still waiting for the Second Coming. Throughout the history of Protestantism,
- 5:17without the guidance of the Church saying basically, in my words,
- 5:21calm down, y'all, it's not here yet, okay, without the
- 5:24guidance of the Church and the various messages that Our
- 5:27Lord's given throughout time, and the Blessed Mother and various,
- 5:31you know, messages from angels and saints to kind of
- 5:34clarify things to say we're not there yet. Protestants have
- 5:39believed that any day the world's going to end. I
- 5:41mean every single time we've gone from like eighteen hundred
- 5:45to nineteen hundred, and nineteen hundred to the year two thousand,
- 5:48and you can back it up a few hundred years
- 5:50for then every turn of the century, they believe the
- 5:53end of the world. Every time Haley's comment comes around,
- 5:56they believe it's the end of the world. Every eclipse
- 5:59they believe it's the end of the world. World just
- 6:01We've had two major eclipses in the last couple of years,
- 6:06and both times there have been billboards up on nine
- 6:09to ninety five saying the end is near. Turn your
- 6:12radio to this Protestant station and listen to this message
- 6:15before it's too late. Eighteen ninety nine, going into nineteen hundred,
- 6:21Protestants throughout the United States, so much of Europe sold
- 6:25everything they had and gave the money the poor and
- 6:29anxiously waited on December thirty first for January first, believing
- 6:33that was the end of the world. Well, good for them,
- 6:36they did a good charitable deed. But the world didn't end.
- 6:39And why should it? I mean, who do you honestly
- 6:43believe that God works on our calendar and schedule? I mean,
- 6:49you know the Bible sayst that to God, a year
- 6:52is one thousand days, and one thousand days is as
- 6:55a year. God exists outside of time. Now, if we
- 6:58were to extrapolate and many people, we could look at
- 7:02the world having been created in so many days, and
- 7:05we would say, okay, if there's seven days of a
- 7:07week and maybe seven thousand years from the resurrection of Christ,
- 7:14the world may come to an end. That's actually a
- 7:17pretty good supposition. I don't know. I'm not gonna say
- 7:21one way or the other. I do know it's not
- 7:24going to end tomorrow, because especially our Lady the Blessed
- 7:29Mother has said that the end's not gonna come before
- 7:32she converts all Muslims to Christianity, and they will be
- 7:36converted through her. We're nowhere near there yet. I mean,
- 7:41we got Muslims burning churches and stabbing people all over
- 7:45Western Europe. We're nowhere near there yet. We're also told
- 7:50that before the very end, all the Jews will convert
- 7:54to Christianity. Now this is where we start getting into
- 7:57a little bit of controversy. I want to state clearly
- 8:02and specifically from the beginning, I am not anti Semitic
- 8:06in any way, shape or form. I've always gotten along
- 8:09well with Jewish people. They Jewish girls almost married two
- 8:12of them. I have issues with the modern state of Israel,
- 8:17and I don't in any way believe that modern Israel
- 8:20is the Israel the Bible. I know many Protestants, do
- 8:23you know, your Mike Cockabi types, really really really do,
- 8:27and they're the ones thinking the world's going to end
- 8:29in any day, But they don't understand when the antichrist.
- 8:34And there, of course there are many antichrists throughout history.
- 8:37Martin Luther was an antichrist. The emperors like Nero and
- 8:40such were an antichrist. Hitler was an antichrist. Anyone who
- 8:44opposes Christ and his church is an antichrist. But we're
- 8:47talking the big dude, the one that's going to do
- 8:50miracles that appear to be like the miracles that Jesus did.
- 8:54By necessity, he will have to be of Jewish heritage. Okay,
- 9:00why is that by necessity? In no way, shape or form.
- 9:04Is this some kind of like anti Jewish bigotry. No,
- 9:07it's not. It's because the religious Jews of that time
- 9:12will say that he's the Messiah, and he couldn't be
- 9:15the Messiah unless he was Jewish and a practitioner of
- 9:20the Jewish religion as well as being hereditarily Jewish. That's
- 9:24just logical. Jesus was Jewish. The Antichrist will be Jewish.
- 9:31A lot of people today would say, oh, that's George Soros. No, no,
- 9:34we're not there yet, not unless all the Muslims are
- 9:37gonna suddenly convert to Christianity tomorrow. And then maybe you
- 9:41know who knows, But no, there will be a false
- 9:44Messiah that rises, and he would do miracles that appear
- 9:49to be just like those that Jesus did in the Bible.
- 9:52He will also be a very powerful indi visual in politics.
- 9:58A lot of people believe that that he will sort
- 10:00of be like the leader of a one world government,
- 10:04sort of under the United Nations, and most likely very
- 10:09likely a Freemason are there are a lot of evidence
- 10:11putting toward that. But he will of necessity be Jewish.
- 10:16That is not a slur against Jewish people or Judaism,
- 10:20or a condemnation of anybody's race or ethnicity. It's just
- 10:24a logical outcome, because if the Antichrist is not Jewish,
- 10:29the Jewish people would not accept him as Messiah. Okay, Protestants,
- 10:35you like again the mic Hockabye types, the ones that say,
- 10:39Israel's our greatest ally. Okay, Israel's an ally. Sometimes sometimes
- 10:44they're on the other team, I mean during the Cold War,
- 10:46sometimes they were with us, sometimes they were with the Soviets.
- 10:49What makes in their greatest ally? Why not Poland? Poland's
- 10:54had our back in everything we've ever done. I mean
- 10:57literally from the American Revolution. We had Poland generals coming
- 11:00over here helping us fight the British. Poland along, I mean,
- 11:06was our key ally in defeating the Soviet Union. Why
- 11:09doesn't Mike Cokabee say that Poland's our greatest ally, well,
- 11:13because Polish is Poland is a Catholic nation. Mike Kuokabe
- 11:16does not recognize Catholicism. Mike Kokabe does not like Catholics.
- 11:21He essentially worships Judaism. So then most Protestants are of
- 11:29his mindset of probably ninety percent. When that Antichrist arises,
- 11:36he will be Jewish and he will be embraced both
- 11:39by the Jewish people and by most Protestants. That's why
- 11:44we're going to have and all secularists. I mean, you know,
- 11:47he'll probably be a socialist or communist. He'll probably be
- 11:50very high up in world government, I mean obviously the
- 11:53leader of basically a world government. And that's why the
- 11:57Church is going to be so heavily prosecuted and prosecuted.
- 12:02I mean, the Bible tells us that things are really, really,
- 12:05really bad, Okay, And that's because not only well secular
- 12:11governments and Jewish folks and all that, but also Protestants
- 12:18and probably many Catholics as well, will believe this is
- 12:21the Second Coming when it's actually the Antichrist. That is
- 12:24the controversial part of this book. The reason this book
- 12:28has been essentially withheld from you, and I mean it
- 12:34is actually purposeful. After World War Two, in the Holocaust,
- 12:39this book was stripped from shells, taken out of libraries.
- 12:42It was very hard for me to find an English
- 12:46translation that was good and reliable. But here's the deal.
- 12:52So a couple of years ago, I'm reading St. Teresa
- 12:55Ilissou's biography and she says there's a book that her
- 13:00father loved, found it very influential, that she thought was
- 13:03one of the greatest Christian books of all time. And
- 13:06it was written by a French priest named Father Armijean.
- 13:10I guess that's why you pronounced it A R M
- 13:12I N J O N. So I'm gonna go with
- 13:15Armigan Eman. Probably I'm gonna say Armigan because I'm American.
- 13:19But anyway, it's called The End of the Present World
- 13:24and the Mysteries of the Future Life my father C M. A. Armagnon.
- 13:30I guess I don't even know what they all stands for.
- 13:34To the best of my knowledge. When this book was
- 13:39published in France in its original form, it did have
- 13:43the impromoter. It was sanctioned as official Catholic teaching. The
- 13:49copy I have in English does not bear an impromoter. Okay,
- 13:54it does not say the Catholic Church recognizes this as
- 13:58absolutely true. Doctor, So I'm not going to make that claim,
- 14:03even though I believe it once was and probably still is.
- 14:08I'm not going to say that every word of this
- 14:10book is absolutely true. I'm going to say that I
- 14:14believe every word of this book is absolutely true. It
- 14:17is so backed up with history and theology and doctrine,
- 14:21and is so solid. Is such a solid work. I
- 14:24don't think anything in here could be denied. But because
- 14:29of that tricky little thing about the Antichrist being of
- 14:33Jewish heritage, the book disappeared after World War Two, And
- 14:38that's understandable. I mean, our Church has done so much
- 14:41to discourage anti Semitism in the last you know, one
- 14:45hundred years now, not quite un getting close anyway, in
- 14:50the last several decades. But that's why you haven't seen
- 14:55this book. Now. I expect this series to be somewhat
- 14:59kind of troversial, some episodes may go up, they get
- 15:04taken down in certain places. I know that. Okay, it's
- 15:08going to be more important than ever for you to
- 15:12listen to the show, download it and save it if
- 15:15you can, and share it with friends and just say,
- 15:19you know, the copy I am reading from is on
- 15:23archive dot org, so you can read it. That's where
- 15:27I finally found it because none of the libraries I
- 15:29could find I mean, it wasn't anywhere, it was any bookstores,
- 15:31it wasn't available for sale. It was you know, I
- 15:34found one on archive, which is pretty cool. It's a
- 15:37translation I think from the done in the nineteen eighties
- 15:41when it was essentially a lost book. So I'm going
- 15:44to kind of go briefly through the introduction. It fit
- 15:47like many Catholic books, it has a ridiculously long introduction,
- 15:50But this is going to set the table for what's
- 15:54really really important. I mean, when you Jehovah's witnesses come
- 15:59to your door, I tell you the end is near,
- 16:01well you'll be able to say, well, you know, probably not.
- 16:03And by the way, you don't recognize the divinity of Christ.
- 16:08So I am a Christian and I really don't want
- 16:11to have anything to do with your cult, please leave
- 16:14my door. But when a Protestant says, you know the
- 16:18end's near, We're in the end times, it's the end times,
- 16:22you can calmly and rationally go through with them and
- 16:26with Bible verses and scripture in hand and show them
- 16:31that it's not the end will come. The world is
- 16:35not ending tomorrow. For better or worse. Things are going
- 16:39to get a whole lot worse before they get better.
- 16:43In fact, that's last time the Jehovah's Witness came to
- 16:46my door. They said, what do you think about the
- 16:47end times? And I said, well, things are going to
- 16:49get a whole lot worse and then they're going to
- 16:51get better. And they're like, yeah, that's right. I'm like, thanks, okay,
- 16:54go away, now I close the door. That was actually
- 16:58very There were a couple of sweet old ladies, so
- 17:00I did actually chat with him for a few minutes.
- 17:02I wasn't rude or anything, but I took their literature
- 17:05and shredded it immediately because it's heretical. It's a blasphemous
- 17:10it's you know, the Jehoah's Witnesses are a religious cult. Okay,
- 17:16they're not a Christian group because they deny the divinity
- 17:18of Christ, same with the larity Saints lds. Okay, and
- 17:24we could get into some other ones too, but we
- 17:26don't need to do that right now. So starting with
- 17:32the beginning, as of this publication of the book, the
- 17:36authors say, this book was written ever a century ago,
- 17:39yet was surely designed by the divine providence, especially for
- 17:43our day. It was immediately and explosively influential when first
- 17:47published in France in eighteen eighty one. It was acknowledged
- 17:51by Saint Teresa Lusseaux in her writings as possibly the
- 17:54single most important inspiration for the dedication of her life
- 17:58to the path, which led to becoming, in the words
- 18:01of Saint Pius the tenth, the greatest saint of modern times.
- 18:05Now you have to wonder why don't you have a
- 18:08copy of this book. It was purposefully with help from you,
- 18:14and I think it's, you know, very important to remember this.
- 18:17This is, you know, like on King of the Hill.
- 18:19You remember Dale Gribble, He was into all the conspiracy theories.
- 18:22He said, they don't want you to know. This is
- 18:25actually what they don't want you to know. I mean,
- 18:27if you want to think about this, this is actually
- 18:30what they don't want you to know who is they
- 18:34the people that control the media and what you're going
- 18:36to find in bookstores and such. So I'm I'm just
- 18:39going to tell you up front some of these podcasts
- 18:43may be taken down. I'm going to trust y'all my
- 18:48audience to download them, repost them, and share them everywhere.
- 18:53This is probably, I mean, next to the Bible and
- 18:57the Catechism, the most important thing you're going to read
- 19:00long time, and I'm going to go through it and
- 19:02we're going to discuss it. So she says, yeah, sat Yeah,
- 19:08we did that. Saint Teresa so loved it, and I
- 19:13was pushed into oblivion, scarcely heard from again in the
- 19:18nineteen sixties. They go into a lot of Attican two stuff.
- 19:21I'm not going to get into all that now translated
- 19:25and it's back, so let's see the end of the
- 19:29present world of the Mysteries of the Future. Life is
- 19:31a compendium of Catholic doctrine and tradition on the subject
- 19:35of eschatology. I hate that word eschatology escatlog I mean,
- 19:42I don't think you're supposed to when you say scatological,
- 19:45but you say escat I hate words like that you know.
- 19:48If I have one plea for Catholic writers and podcasters,
- 19:52stop using words people don't understand. You cannot expect your
- 19:57your audience to run to the bookshelf and gravity dictioneering
- 20:01and no, not everybody went to at a theology degree
- 20:03from a Catholic university. Use words, people understand. It's fine
- 20:09to use a big word, but define it. If you
- 20:11do a weird word like concupiscence, Catholics just toss that
- 20:16around like everybody knows what concupiscence is. No, they don't.
- 20:20Nine percent of the world's population doesn't know what concupiscence means.
- 20:24The tendency to do wrong rather than right because of
- 20:26original sin. Just define it. But anyway, Eschatology means the
- 20:34end times. Essentially, notice the science of the Last Things.
- 20:38Eschatology falls into two halves. The last things as they
- 20:42concern the world, the great apostasy from the Church, the
- 20:45Antichrist persecutions, the return of the two witnesses Enoch and Elias.
- 20:51That's another thing. They haven't returned yet, have they. So
- 20:54next time someone tells you the ends, here asking where
- 20:56Enoch and Elias are. The conversion of the Jews and
- 21:00coming of our Lord, the Resurrection from the dead, and
- 21:03general judgment, and the Last Things as they concern individual's death, judgment,
- 21:07heaven and hell, to quote the Penny Catechism, and Father
- 21:11Armagnng deals comprehensively with both halves. We do not hesitate
- 21:16to assert that no subject is more important or more
- 21:19enthralling than that of the Last Things, and we are
- 21:22scarcely less confident in asserting that never has there been
- 21:27written a treatment of the subject that is more thorough
- 21:29more penetrating, more inspiring, or more securely founded on the
- 21:33authority of the Pope's father, saints and acclaim the elogions
- 21:37of the Catholic Church than this work by Father Armijohn.
- 21:40It is difficult to know how best to give an
- 21:42indication of the book's extraordinary qualities, for although we must
- 21:47clearly highlight its salient features, this could be off putting
- 21:51to some readers, frightening them into thinking that the author's
- 21:54erudition and exhausts of attention to detail must make the
- 21:57book heavy and perhaps difficult to understand. Well, it's not.
- 22:00It's actually remarkably easy to read. Uh. It was. It's
- 22:05a collection of a series of lectures. He gave. So
- 22:08it's it's very much spoken, it's very conversational, and it
- 22:13actually quite good. All right, I'm going to try to
- 22:19wrap up the introduction. Like I said, They go on
- 22:21for quite a bit, they say, Father Armagnong overlooks nothing
- 22:28examining a subject. As each relevant point is presented for analysis.
- 22:32He begins with considering in the light of the Holy Scripture,
- 22:35then quotes from Catholic authorities, then carefully explains the correct
- 22:39interpretation of the scriptural passage. You can see how this
- 22:43is going to be so useful when you're debating with
- 22:45your Protestant friends. I mean, you start with a scripture,
- 22:49then you go to historic sources, then you work it
- 22:51through with logic, and it's really actually extremely well done.
- 23:00His father Armagnand follows on the footsteps of the doctors
- 23:03and other great writers of the Church and his truly
- 23:05Catholic handling of authorities. As scripture is uninambiguous, he allows
- 23:09it to speak for itself. Where its meaning is doubtful,
- 23:11he gives the understanding of the fathers. If a matter
- 23:14is uncertain, he tells us that we are free to
- 23:16choose whichever interpretation we prefer. But if the answer is definite,
- 23:20he tells us so and confirms what he says with
- 23:22the words of the Pope or the unanimos teaching of
- 23:25the Father. Can't ask for more than that, all right,
- 23:27so I'm miss skip ahead Skip ahead Summary the contents.
- 23:31The book is divided into nine conferences, which were originally
- 23:34delivered orally in the presence of the Archbishop of Chambery
- 23:38and Thrill the Congregation. Okay. First conference opens by refuting
- 23:45those self confident individual braggarts no infidel braggarts as foreseen
- 23:51by Saint Peter in second Peter three one through four,
- 23:54who as certain that the world will never end, and
- 23:56proves that when wickedness is at its height, God will
- 24:00wreak his vengeance and vindicate the just. Yeah. Second Conference
- 24:05describes the persecution of the Antichrist and other momentous events
- 24:10such as the return of Enoch and Elias, and draws
- 24:13on and examines the horrifying detail account of these faithful
- 24:17events for the constellations of those who remain faithful during
- 24:21the time which our Lord has told us. Unless those
- 24:23days have been shortened, no flesh could be saved Matthew
- 24:26twenty four to twenty two. Yeah. The third conference concerns
- 24:31the resurrection of the dead and the general judgment, when
- 24:34all men who have lived will be assembled for judgment,
- 24:37the dead rising from their tombs, their long corrupted bodies
- 24:39being miraculously restored to them. There, every action, good and
- 24:43bad of every man will be seen and judged publicly,
- 24:46prior to the dispatch of the wicked to damnation and
- 24:49the entry of the just into heaven. Yeah, it's pretty intense. Actually, yeah,
- 24:55he talked about purgatory. There's a lot that's the fifth
- 24:58conference a really great explanation of purgatory and you're gonna
- 25:06really want to hear that. One the six conferences about Hell,
- 25:10the location of is identify and its pains and torments
- 25:13are analyzed using it says, not with the imagination of
- 25:20a poet or artist, but with the exactitude of a
- 25:22true theologian. We can assure that anyway. The seventh Conference
- 25:28describes the bliss of heaven. This is also a really
- 25:30great chapter. Let's see eighth and Night Conference discuss Christian sacrifice,
- 25:37the special attention to give him to the mass. And finally, oh,
- 25:42well we will probably I don't know if we'll get
- 25:44to that or not. But the biography of the priest
- 25:46who wrote the book. I thought I would get through
- 25:50the preface of further I mean actually written by the
- 25:56feather Armagnone himself. There's a lot of notes here by
- 25:59the publisher. And you know how that goes with old
- 26:02Catholic books, talking about the translation and all this and
- 26:05all that, and stuff that really doesn't matter to anyone
- 26:09outside of the academy. Yes, word, this is a long introduction,
- 26:17all right, Ford, my father Armagnon, sixteen pages in we
- 26:20get to his one page. Ford, isn't that a typical
- 26:23Catholic book, dear reader? It it seemed to us that
- 26:26one of the most melancholy fruits of rationalism, the fatal
- 26:29error and great plague of this century, the pestilential source
- 26:32wins our revolutions and social disasters arise is the absence
- 26:37of the sense of the supernatural and the profound neglect
- 26:40of the great truths of the future life with desolations.
- 26:43How the earth be laid to waste because the majority
- 26:46of men, fascinated by the lure of fleeting pleasure and
- 26:50absorbed in their worldly interests and the care of their
- 26:53material affairs and the world the affairs no longer fix
- 26:57their thoughts on the great principles of faith, stubbornly refused
- 27:01to retire within themselves. It may be said of our
- 27:03present generation what the prophet Daniel in his time of
- 27:07the Two said of the of the two old men
- 27:11of Babylon. They perverted their old mind and turned their eyes,
- 27:15that they may not look unto heaven nor remember just judgments.
- 27:21The two causes of this terrifying indifference and profound universal
- 27:25lethargy are obviously ignorance and darkening of the interior eye
- 27:30of the human soul, and the unrestrained love of central pleasures.
- 27:34They bring all its aspiration down to the narrow level
- 27:38of the present life, and cut off from and cut
- 27:41it off from the vision of the beauties and rewards
- 27:43to come. Now, since wise men have found at all
- 27:46times that for extreme illness, extreme treatments or most fitting,
- 27:50it seemed to us that the most efficacious remedy with
- 27:53which to fight confidently against the inveterate evil of naturalism
- 27:57was elucid, clear and exactly exposition without diminushed d I
- 28:06M d I M I n u t io in diminution.
- 28:12There we go the essential truths dealing with the future
- 28:15life and the inevitable termination of human destiny. Perhaps we
- 28:20shall be accused of expressing this or that ascertation of
- 28:23ours too crudely and starkly, and approaching the most serious
- 28:26and formidable points of Christian doctrine, without at the same
- 28:30time modifying and softening them. So it was to adapt
- 28:33them to the prejudices or apathy of certain souls unacquainted
- 28:36with such grave considerations, like a physician who carefully allows
- 28:41only a limited amount of light to a sick friend
- 28:43in order not to hurt his painful eyes by excessive claire. However,
- 28:48in the religious and supernatural order of the phenomena and
- 28:51effect wrought upon the soul are often the reverse of
- 28:54those which would occur in the physical material order. In
- 28:58the visible world, the excessive amount of light dazzles, it
- 29:02leads to the dimness of vision and causes blindness. On
- 29:05the other hand, as soon as the mind enters the
- 29:08intellectual realm and is transported into the vast sphere of
- 29:12invisible and uncreated matter, excess is no longer to be feared.
- 29:17Jesus Christ is the great luminary of our intellects, the
- 29:20food and life of our hearts. He is never better
- 29:23understood or more loved than when he manifests himself liberally
- 29:27in the integrity of his doctrine and the super imminent
- 29:31splendors of his divine personality. The example of the Apostles
- 29:35announcing the Gospel amidst the twilight of paganism and boldly
- 29:38preaching Jesus Christ crucified before the Roman Senate and amidst
- 29:42the philosophers of the Aeroptagus, is enough to tell us
- 29:49that the truth is attractive of souls naturally Christian, and
- 29:52that it enlightens and convicts them only in so far
- 29:55as it is presented to them in all its strength
- 29:58and all its clarity. Trial is limited in its duration
- 30:02to the period of the present life. If, as the
- 30:04rationalists maintain this life, is there only a link in
- 30:07the chain of our destiny. And if the course of
- 30:10time wherein man is subject to strife, temptation, and blandishments
- 30:14of the senses, the creatures should continue and definitely, then
- 30:17Jesus Christ will never be king. Virtue brings no hope,
- 30:21and evil will remain eternally triumphant. Thus, it is quite
- 30:25certain that the scene which is being played here below
- 30:28will sooner or later reach its climax and end, mankind
- 30:33will enter upon a new phase of existence, and all
- 30:36that we cherish, all that we search after in this
- 30:38present life, will be less than a shadow sheer inanity.
- 30:42This is a certain fact which all our discoveries and
- 30:46the marvels of our genius will not be able to
- 30:48set aside. Now that the moral value of life is
- 30:51determined by the end to which it tends, just as
- 30:54the utility of a road is estimated by the traveler
- 30:57only in so far as it helps to bring him
- 30:59more surely directly to the final point of the journey
- 31:01he has undertaken. Accordingly to deal with the future life
- 31:06and the last is really to expound the science and
- 31:10philosophy of human life, setting out the fundamental principles on
- 31:14which the whole of perfection and morality is based. This
- 31:18volume of our Conferences which we are publishing is contingent,
- 31:21is a continuation of the one which we brought out
- 31:24three years ago on the reign of God. The reign
- 31:26of God is inaugarea, grows and comes to its completion
- 31:30in the course of time. It will not be perfect
- 31:33and consummated until the age to come. So Instead of
- 31:37giving our book the title into the present world and
- 31:39the mysteries of the future Life, we could, with equal
- 31:42justice have called it the triumph of Jesus Christ and
- 31:45his Church in the Future Life. Our argument and maxims
- 31:48on the vanity of the figure of this passing world,
- 31:51the futility of all the undertakings conceived outside the perspective
- 31:55of faith and not having the final end as their aim,
- 31:59the irremediable misfortune reserve for the wicked and our other subjects,
- 32:05the advent and reign of the Antichrist, and the temple
- 32:07of immorality, the reward destined for the just, the restoration
- 32:12of the fallen man through the law of sacrifice and
- 32:15the purifying crucible of suffering, seems useful to us in
- 32:19order to shed this solve of it const in order
- 32:24to shed this solve of consolation upon wounded and embittered hearts,
- 32:29to lift up disheartened and dejected souls, and in the
- 32:33calamitous and troubled days through which we are living, to
- 32:36help Christians become men of cir some by inspiring them
- 32:39with resignation and patience. Some s U R. S U M.
- 32:48I would have to look that up I don't have
- 32:49an exact definition right there. I think it's like surety
- 32:52of strengths anyway, by inspiring them with resignation and patience,
- 32:58in order furthermore to strengthen them amidst the present sorrows,
- 33:02by raising up their hopes and desires toward a better fatherland,
- 33:06by drawing upon pure founts of tradition and the Fathers,
- 33:10and instructing ourselves in the light of Holy Scripture. We
- 33:13have sought to satisfy the anxious and troubled souls of
- 33:15our time, and to offer them the true solution to
- 33:19the mysteries of life. And oh, mysteries of life has
- 33:24taught to us by Christianity. May we contribute to making
- 33:27Jesus Christ and his Church loved, and to inculcating more
- 33:31and more in those who read our works as cardinal truth,
- 33:35to serve God and keep His commandments as the whole
- 33:37of man. So hopefully that says fast of the apparition
- 33:43of Saint Michael, the Archangel. Eighth of May eighteen eighty
- 33:47one was when that was written. So yes, the language
- 33:51is a bit formal sometimes, you know, you have to
- 33:54remember books written in the eighteen eighties people didn't use
- 33:57as much slang in you know, common terms as we
- 33:59use now. Well, I will define as we go as
- 34:02we try to get through this one. This is such
- 34:07a powerful book. I mean, you were going you might
- 34:12want to take notes. Really in this next series, we'll
- 34:15probably spend at least six months on this. I'm going
- 34:19to take it in in bite sized pieces. It's not
- 34:21a long book. It's not a long book at all.
- 34:22It's only two hundred and nine pages and we're twenty
- 34:25pages into it. I'm certainly not going to do more
- 34:28than a chapter at a time. Probably break him into two
- 34:31or three parts. You're gonna probably want to take notes
- 34:35on this one, and do try to download if you can,
- 34:38save it and share it. This one is really really important,
- 34:45really really super important. The good news is the world's
- 34:51not gonna end tomorrow. The bad news is that things
- 34:54you're gonna get a whole lot worse before it does end.
- 34:57And as Christians, we're the one, especially as faithful Catholics,
- 35:03we're the ones that are gonna be suffering. And we
- 35:05need to know what to expect, we need to know
- 35:08what to prepare for. I mean, this is not a
- 35:10feeld theoretical concept. You know, a lot of my work
- 35:17as an herbalist and such, I work with preppers. What
- 35:19are they prepping for? People always ask me, Well, it
- 35:21could be for a hurricane, it could be for the
- 35:25next World war, it could be for a financial collapse.
- 35:28I mean, if you went through the financial collapse of
- 35:30two thousand and eight and went through the stuff I did,
- 35:34almost lost everything, you know the importance of prepping. If
- 35:37you've been through hurricanes and ice storms like I do,
- 35:39you know the importance of prepping when it comes to
- 35:45the end times, the final days. We need to be
- 35:50prepping for that every minute spiritually, because we don't know
- 35:53when our personal final day is going to come. But
- 35:56there's an actual physical reality that especially will be persecuted,
- 36:03will suffer great horrible things, horrific I mean, very comparable
- 36:09to what Jesus was describing and what the early Christians
- 36:12went through, you know, in the colosseums of Rome, the martyrdoms,
- 36:16I mean, torn apart by beasts, crucified upside down, burned
- 36:19to death. This, you know, this is serious stuff. And
- 36:24this whole like Protestant idea of oh gosh, the rapture,
- 36:28it's totally false. Anytime someone says to you anything about
- 36:32the rapture, just know that they're talking just pure bs.
- 36:36That's a made up concept. It's not even one hundred
- 36:38years old. Jesus is not going to come take us
- 36:41away while the world goes into chaos. Okay, We're going
- 36:44to be here and suffer. Jesus said, those who endure
- 36:46into the end will be saved. Once you hear this book,
- 36:49you will absolutely be able to refute anything rapture. You
- 36:55know that kind of crap in idios. Gosh, what was
- 37:00that series of novels that they did. They even turned
- 37:02some of them into like television movies and such, all
- 37:06about the rapture, and it's so it's such a heresy.
- 37:10I mean, every Catholic should have been outraged by those
- 37:13But anyway, you have to know before you know what
- 37:16they're telling you is a lie. You have to know
- 37:18what the truth is. And through this book by Father Armagnon,
- 37:21you're going to learn really important, uncomfortable truths that will
- 37:30also inspire you in ways you can't imagine. This is
- 37:36if you really absorb this book, you know, like Saint
- 37:39Teresa also said it was her inspiration to become a
- 37:43nun and a great saint. This book could have that
- 37:46effect on your life if you embrace it and let
- 37:49it so. I mean, for so many reasons. It was
- 37:52the Left Behind series. Yes, the Left Behind Series is
- 37:55absolutely heretical, really should never I mean if we still,
- 38:01if we live in a Catholic country, it would not
- 38:03have it would have been burned. I mean, it's so
- 38:06wrong and heretical and just not write Christian doctrine. It's yeah,
- 38:15really bad stuff actually, But I mean so much of
- 38:18what's in our popular culture, especially those you know, so
- 38:21called Christian television networks that do all those sappy movies.
- 38:26You know that's very Protestant, and sometimes as Catholics we
- 38:30watch that we think, oh, this is wholesome, this is good.
- 38:33Not when they get into doctrine and morals and theology.
- 38:37That's where we really have to draw a lot and
- 38:39say no, as a Catholic, I'm not going to read
- 38:42this book. I mean, I'm not going to prevent somebody
- 38:44else from reading it. Not in free country. I got that,
- 38:46but I'm not. In my family. We're not going to
- 38:49do this. We're not going to watch that movie, We're
- 38:51not going to read that book. We're going to stick
- 38:53with the truth that Jesus gave us through his church.
- 38:57We don't need the lives of the devil, even if
- 39:00you know Mike Huckaby's the one out promoting it, even
- 39:03if you know Franklin Graham's the one out promoting it. Now,
- 39:08just because they're big name in pros and circles does
- 39:10not then make them any more right than the Jehovah's
- 39:14Witnesses that come to your door. They're both in heretical sex,
- 39:18in a false church, a false counterfeit church that has
- 39:23false doctrine. Go through this series with me over the
- 39:27next few months, and you're going to learn the truth
- 39:30about the end of time, about the apocalypse, about the
- 39:33end of the world. And on the one hand, it's
- 39:35gonna be very reassuring, because, like I said, it's not
- 39:37gonna happen tomorrow. On the other hand, it will change
- 39:40your life if you let it, and it's gonna give
- 39:43you a lot of hope, a lot of hope. So anyway, y'all,
- 39:48this was the introduction. We get started on chapter one
- 39:51next week. Mark your calendars and get ready because this
- 39:56is going to be a real roller coaster, all right.
- 39:59Have a going cloudy next step
